A federal judge has dismissed the Georgia election interference.
case against President Trump and more than a dozen of his allies. Georgia public
broadcasting Sarah Callis reports a prosecution move to end the case.
Georgia prosecutor Pete Scandalakis filed paperwork to drop the criminal case against President
Trump and the other defendants, saying he did not find clear evidence of a viable conspiracy
to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Georgia State University law professor Anthony
Michael Kreis said that he was not surprised by the decision. I think this is
really fundamentally a gut check about whether you believe the President of the United States
tried to overturn the 2020 election or not.
Trump and 18 co-defendants were originally indicted in 2023.

In new court papers, chat GPT maker OpenAI says it is not liable for the death of a teenager
saying he misused the chat by.
and PR's Bobby Allen reports a boy's family had filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
Lawyers for OpenAI say a 16-year-old boy from Orange County, California, used the chat bot as a suicide coach.
The tech company says the boy's death was the result of the unauthorized use of chat GPT.
It's OpenAI's first legal response to a lawsuit that set off debate about the potential mental health dangers of powerful AI chatbots.
The lawsuit contained chat log showing chat GPT discouraged the boy from seeking mental health treatment and even helped him write a
suicide note. Since the suit, Open AI has changed its AI models so that interactions with the
chatbot are less affirming of what a user is asking about, which could include harms.
Bobby Allen, NPR News. The U.S. is in the thick of one of the busiest holiday travel weeks of
the year, especially for air travel. NPR's Joel Rose reports on morale among air traffic
controllers who had to work for weeks without pay during the government shutdown. The Department
of Transportation has said it will give $10,000 bonuses to air traffic controllers who did not
miss a single shift during the 43-day shutdown, but only a small fraction of working air traffic
controllers will qualify just 311 controllers out of more than 10,000 will get the cash bonuses,
according to the controllers' union. And that's causing some resentment among those who did not
qualify. Some have called the bonuses unfair and even a betrayal of those who did a lot of hard work
during the shutdown. NPR's Joel Rose reporting, the Dow is up 314 points or more than
half a percent. You're listening to NPR News.
