Under Jersey Congressmember wants NJ Transit and Amtrak, customers to get refunds for delayed or canceled trains. Representative Josh Gottheimer says this summer's transit meltdowns have been a major headache for riders. Starting point is 00:00:36 between. Cuthheimer introduced legislation that would guarantee refunds for riders. Numerous delays in service suspensions have stranded riders on the public transit systems for hours this summer, NJ Transit runs its trains on Amtrak's rails from New York City to Trenton. Some bus stops in New York City can be up to 15 degrees hotter than cooler counterparts, and the Honest stops tend to be in low-income communities of color. That's according to a new collaborative report from NASA and the Advocacy Group Transportation Alternatives.
Starting point is 00:01:11 The study used thermal imaging satellites to analyze temperatures at stops citywide. M. Friedenberg is Transportation Alternatives Research Manager. People decided to plant trees in the wealthier neighborhoods, to give them bus shelters, to give them parks, and now those neighborhoods are cooler in the summer, whereas others are left out in the heat and the sun. on streets that it might be 100 degrees waiting for a bus that may or may not come. New York City officials say many of the locations in the report cannot accommodate bus shelters because they don't meet specific criteria such as adequate sidewalk space.
Starting point is 00:01:45 The first ever Fanatics Fest is at the Jabbit Center this weekend with photo ops, autographs signings, and events with more than 60 athletes and celebrities. Among them, NFL grades Tom Brady and the Manning Brothers, Nick Star, Jalen Brunson, and cultural figure Spike Lee and. J. Z. Lance Fenstersman is the CEO of Fanatics Inc. He says he's excited to bring so many sports lovers together. It's a chance for fans of sports and fans of sports culture and collectors of cards and memorabilia to get together for three days and have this amazing experience. And Fenceman compares it to another big event at Javitt Center. It's like the Comic-Con of sports.
