Here's the morning headlines from Carrie Nolan.
Officials say a fire in Brownsville, Brooklyn, yesterday,
critically injured three children who were alone at the time of the blaze.
FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanaugh said the fire started around 11 a.m.
on the 11th floor of a 14-story Livonia Avenue building.
First responders found three children, ages four, five, and eight, alone and unconscious inside the building.
Responders performed CPR on the children before they were hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Officials are investigating the fire and why the children were left home alone.
One parent was taken into custody.
This happened just shortly after a fire destroyed nine small businesses in South Williamsburg.
Mayor Adams is returning to Israel today for his first visit as mayor. WNYC's Tiffany Hansen has more.
The mayor arrives in Israel in the afternoon and travels to Jerusalem for an evening reception with Israeli faith leaders.
He's also scheduled to meet with Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon.
Adams' office says the purpose of the visit is for the mayor to, quote,
learn about Israeli technology and discuss combined efforts to combat anti-Semitism.
officials have not confirmed whether the mayor will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu while he's there.
Last month, Adams and NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban met at police headquarters with Israeli President Isaac Herzog,
who was in the U.S. to deliver a speech before Congress.
Adams spoke briefly to reporters after the meeting where he called New York the, quote, Tel Aviv of America.
During this trip, Adams will visit Tel Aviv before returning to New York on Thursday.
Broadway star Chris Paluso has died at the age of 40.
In 2004, Paluso made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award-winning revival of Assassins as an understudy.
Paluso also went on to star in Mamma Mia and Wicked.
Last year, a public announcement said the actor was stepping away from acting to seek treatment for a, quote,
schizoaffective disorder.
His death was confirmed by his family to Playbill magazine.
They did not disclose Chris Paluso's cause of death.
And as far as your weather picture goes, it'll be mostly sunny today with highs around 90,
partly cloudy this evening, then turning mostly cloudy with overnight lows in the upper 60s.
For tomorrow, sunny once again, a little bit cooler, highs around 80 and Wednesday.
Sunny once more with highs in the upper 70s.
