Police are investigating after a man killed four family members, including two children at their Queens home yesterday in Far Rockaway. The suspect, 38-year-old Bronx resident Courtney Gordon, also stabbed the two responding officers, police say,
Starting point is 00:00:35 and those officers shot and killed him. Here's PBA Union Chief, Patrick Hendry. This scene was chaos, multiple victims, a house on fire, and a madman on a rampage, on a mission, and thankful that these police officers showed up. Imagine what could have happened if these police officers weren't there. The two police officers have now been released from the hospital. The victims were a 12-year-old.
Starting point is 00:01:05 a 44-year-old woman, a male in his 30s, and an 11-year-old girl. A New Jersey mother is advocating for better protections for victims of AI-generated images. For her, the cause is personal. W&MIC's Tiffany Hanson explains. Dorota Moni says nude images of her 14-year-old daughter were circulated at Westfield High School earlier this year. The images were so-called deep fakes, digitally created or altered by artificial intelligence. A Westfield High School spokesperson confirmed the event and said it was brought to the attention of the school in October. Officials have not confirmed any disciplinary actions.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Moni says that she and her daughter have spoken with New Jersey state lawmakers to advocate for protections for victims. New York State passed legislation earlier this year, criminalizing non-consensual deep fake pornography. New York City is considering a bill that would require the Department of Transportation give a 15 days heads-up to council members and community boards before removing a parking space. It's one of six bills up for debate during a city council hearing today. Beyond parking spaces, other bills target street safety and the open streets program.
