Welcome to NYC Now.

It's Friday, February 2nd.
Here's the morning headlines from Michael Hill.
The Muchman Line Port Authority bus terminal is one step closer to replacement.
Plans for a new facility on 42nd Street are ready for federal review.
The Port Authority wants to build a temporary bus haul and new ramps
while the current terminal is torn down.
The agency would then build a brand new facility
with a big glass entrance on 41st Street between 8th and 9th avenues.
Port Authority Executive Director, Rick Cotton says the project is long overdue.
The bus terminal has become a poster child for failed legacy infrastructure
that desperately needs to be replaced.
Today we say loudly, a new day is coming.
Construction could begin as soon as the end of the year
if the Fed sign off on the plans. The project is expected to cost $10 billion and could be completed by 2032.
New York City's lifeguards are getting a raise this summer to $22 an hour as city pools and beaches have
struggled through years of staffing shortages. The raise comes after last season's bump to
roughly $21 an hour, but Chief Lifeguard Janet Fash, who spent 43 years at Rockaway Beach before being stationed
at a city pool last year, says lifeguards really deserve it.
at least $25 an hour.
I think that lifeguards, the rank-and-file lifeguards, deserve more,
and I think that we're top-heavy.
I think there's a lot of super chiefs that get paid really good money,
but the rank-and-file lifeguards, particularly in the ocean,
they deserve more.
Mayor Adams has steadily increased lifeguard wages
after being criticized early in his tenure
for not acting urgently enough to address the shortage.
That's nine in a row for the New York Knicks,
the orange and blue slugged out a come-from-behind home victory against the Indiana Pacers last night, winning 109 to 105.
Jalen Brunson poured in 40 points to lead the Knicks, and he was serenaded with MVP chance from the Garden Faithful all night.
Hours after the NBA named him an all-star for the first time in his career.
The Knicks looks to push their winning streak to double digits on Saturday against the L.A. Lakers who beat the Celtics last night in Boston,
with a sideline LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
42 and cloudy now.
A chance of rain by midday.
We'll probably see a little bit more than that during the morning.
Cloudy, then mostly sunny and 44 for a high nights this weekend,
sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid-40s.
Thanks for listening.
