Here's the morning headlines for Michael Hill. 74 and partly sunny, partly cloudy, haze and fog and sunny and high of 90 today. Multiple news reports say, Mayor Adams will tap acting police commissioner,
Starting point is 00:00:27 Edward Cabon, to succeed Kishan Seul at the helm of the NYPD. Caban served as former commissioner. Commissioner Sewell's first deputy commissioner until she said she was resigning last month. He would be the department's first Hispanic officer to take command. An announcement is expected today at the Bronx's 40th precinct where Kaban kicked off his police career, according to reports. After weeks of fruitless negotiations with Hollywood studios, actors will hit the picket lines in New York today. Sagafter's president is New Yorker Fran Dresher.
Starting point is 00:00:57 She says her union stands with the Writers Guild of America, which is also on strike. One of the last things that I said in that negotiating room across the table was, so now you couldn't make a deal with two unions. Congratulations. Actors will walk the picket lines from nine this morning, so one this afternoon outside studio offices. New York Public Radio has a collective bargaining agreement with SAGAFRA, but separate from the actors. Campaign records for Representative George Santos show
Starting point is 00:01:27 Money Coming In and Money Going Out, WNBC's Tiffany Hanson has more. Over the last three months, freshman Republican Congress member George Santos from Queens raised $138,000 for his re-election bid. Congressional campaign records released on Friday also show he withdrew $85,000 from his campaign. The Associated Press reports the funds were intended to help repay hundreds of thousands of dollars he loaned himself to get elected in 2022. Santos is currently being charged with a host of financial credit. crimes, including embezzling money from his campaign. He pleaded not guilty in May to a 13-count federal indictment charging him with looting his campaign coffers, fraudulently receiving unemployment
Starting point is 00:02:14 and lying to Congress about being a millionaire. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. 74 and partly cloudy out there now with an air quality alert.
