Here's the morning headlines from Michael Hill.
What a way to start the month off.
We have a flood warning for the Bronx this morning and flood advisories for other areas.
We'll get to those in just a minute.
The National Weather Service of New York has issued a flood warnings we said for the Bronx until 7 this morning,
especially the East Tremont area in a flood advisory for Rockland and Bergen counties.
It's warning us to watch out for flooding, especially near Rivers Creek streams and other low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Rain runoff is causing bodies of waters to rise.
The weather service says if you encounter flooding while driving turnaround and do not try to drive through it.
In other news this morning, one of the state's biggest progressive political stars says she's not going to make a run for Senate
in 2024. A new political report says Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will not challenge Senator
Kirsten Gillibrand for her seat next year, and neither will other New York lawmakers.
Playoff season, dreams are still alive for two New York City teams, the Rangers and the Nix,
and which is also say the Devils. W&MU's Tiffany Hanson has more.
Rangers fans are on edge as the Hudson River series reaches its epic conclusion.
tonight in game seven of their first round series.
They staved off elimination over the weekend, beating the New Jersey Devils, and forcing
tonight's winner-take-all game.
The puck drops at eight in Newark.
The winner will go on to face the Carolina Hurricanes who knocked the islanders out of the
NHL playoffs on Friday.
And the Knicks have a second date with the Miami Heat in game two of their best of seven
NBA playoff series after losing 108 to 101 yesterday.
Some might remember the Knicks Heat Battle of the game.
