Here's the morning headlines from Michael Hill.

In the news, a local group working to end gun violence is pushing to make their message heard.
Angela Farrell Zabala is the executive director of moms,
demand action, the New York chapter. She says mothers in her group had one request for Mother's
death. We don't care about the flowers and candy. What we really want is our community state. And what
that means for us is reinstating the assault weapons ban. We know that the leading killer for kids
in this country, teens, kids, and young adults are firearms. And we want action on banning
assault weapons for one. In an op-ed yesterday, President Biden honored those killed in the Buffalo
supermarket shooting. He called
on Congress and state lawmakers to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and require
background checks for all gun sales. And as we said, it was one year ago yesterday that a white
man opened fire at a grocery store in a majority black part of Buffalo. The massacre killed
10 people. New Yorkers spent the weekend remembering that grim anniversary. Here's New York
Governor Kathy Hokel at a memorial yesterday. Hate did not win on that day. The white's a
Premistists did not win on that day.
Racism did not win on the day that the people of Buffalo said that love will come out and be the winner on this day.
So I am proud of you, my fellow Buffaloans, I am so proud.
Hockel is from Buffalo herself.
The state sentenced the shooter to life in prison in February.
Tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway are going up again in 2024.
NJ.com reports New Jersey Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Sacchetti says tolls would increase again in January.
That is on January 1st.
It is not yet clear how much drivers will have to pay come next year.
The latest toll hike will be the fourth since March of 2020 when the pandemic began.
