The NYPD says it's investigating video showing a police officer repeatedly punched a demonstrator Saturday during a pro-Palestinian protest in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. A total of 41 people were arrested at the protest organized by the self-described
Starting point is 00:00:31 anti-Zionist advocacy group within our lifetime. Video posted to social media shows police officers clearing protesters off the street. An NYPD supervisor then grabs a demonstrator, pulls him to the ground, and punches him repeatedly in the face. The Adams administration plans to close down a hub for the homeless in Midtown that offers New Yorkers a place to rest, eat, or take a shower. WMYC's Karen Yee reports. The main chance drop-in center provides an alternative for homeless people who don't want
Starting point is 00:01:01 to stay in a shelter but want a place to clean up or eat a hot meal. But the city wants to end its contract with the nonprofit at the end of June. Jackie Connor is the deputy executive director at Maine Chance and says they've been helping New Yorkers for the last 35 years. You could just come into the building to I need a place. I need a food. I need shower. We'll come on there. Main Chance says it provides services for about 300 people a day. City officials say they've invested heavily in helping the homeless. And this is the only drop. up and center, they plan to close. 58 degrees, sunny skies.
