Here's your morning headlines from Michael Hill.
Immigrate New Yorkers are not reporting domestic violence due to fears of federal immigration enforcement.
That's according to Ashley Lynn at the Korean American Family Service Center.
She testified on the issue at a city council hearing yesterday about immigrants' mental health needs.
I think of a Korean immigrant woman who came to us recently.
She had no legal status, speaks almost no English, and endures relentless violence at home.
She told us that she was terrified to reach out for help, believing that if she called the police,
she might be separated from her children or deported.
Other local community groups testified immigrant residents are skipping doctor's appointments
and are not applying for public benefits due to fears of immigration enforcement.
Construction is underway in a major flood protection system in Red Hook.
WDMIC's Phil Corser reports the $218 million project aims to protect the waterfront neighborhood in Brooklyn from rising seas and storm searches.
City officials say Red Hook is one of New York's most flood-prone neighborhoods, sitting just four feet above sea level.
The new project will install nearly two miles of flood walls and gates, raise some streets, and upgrade sewers.
It'll also add trees, bike lanes.
and improve public spaces like the park near IKEA.
City officials say the goal is to protect homes and businesses from future storm damage
and avoid the kind of costly repairs seen after Hurricane Sandy.

Tonight's a big night for basketball in Brooklyn.

The New York Liberty returned to Barclay Center with a one-nothing lead
in their WMBA
playoff series
against the Phoenix Mercury.
It's the first home game
of the playoffs for the Liberty
who won the championship last year.
If they win tonight,
they'll advance to the second round.
If they lose,
the series will advance
to a decisive game three
on Friday night in Arizona.
The Libs won an overtime
in game one
despite turning the ball over
more than 20 times
during the game.
Liberty star, Breanna Stewart,
also sustained a knee injury
toward the end of the game.
Tonight's game
