MTA chair, Geno Lieber's frustration with Amtrak is boiling over. He's blaming the National Railroad for delaying work to add four new Metro North stations in the eastern Bronx. The project would fill in one of the city's major transit deserts. It'll also send Metro North trains to Penn Station for the first time,
Starting point is 00:00:32 but much of the project runs along tracks Amtrak owns, and Labor says Amtrak's workers keep causing delays because they don't show up for work. Amtrak slows down on its own. They slow us down every day of the week by not giving outages, which were promised in contracts, their people don't show up, we can't get work done, and the people in Co-op City are waiting for a goddamn train. Amtrak did not immediately comment the MTF. The case estimated completion date for the project already has been pushed back multiple times, meaning delayed.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Police say a 60-year-a-woman is dead after two men riding on the same e-bike crashed into her near the Brooklyn Navy Yard. WNIC's Liam Quigley has more. NYPD officials say the crash happened on Flushing Avenue, right where pedestrians and cyclists share space on the sidewalk next to a bus stop. The men were riding an e-bike that can reach around 30 miles an hour, far higher than, what's legally allowed in the city. Juan Santana, who lives in the area, says some e-bikes move too quickly along the path. It's too fast.
Starting point is 00:01:38 You see, that one, 40, 50 miles. It's so loud. It's similar of the car. The men who are riding the e-bike were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The NYPD says the incident is still under investigation, but so far no arrest has been reported. The puck drops on a new hockey season tonight.
Starting point is 00:02:00 The New York Rangers host the rival Pittsburgh Penguins on Madison Square Garden Ice to get things going. The two teams face off at 8 tonight as new Rangers coach Mike Sullivan faces off against his old team. The blue shirts also celebrate their centennial season this year.
