Starting point is 00:00:01 Welcome to NYC now. Your source for local news in and around New York City from WNYC. It's Wednesday, November 15. Here's the morning headlines from Michael Hill. A Brooklyn man pleads guilty to robbing a politically connected pastor in a case that went viral. WNMIC's Samantha Max has details. Prosecutors say Bishop Lamore Whitehead was preaching in his Canarsie Church when three men entered with guns drawn and stole experiments.

Sequin Pollack swiveled in his chair and occasionally rubbed his face during the proceedings, which lasted about half an hour. The 25-year-old mostly answered yes or no questions, besides a brief statement admitting that he participated in a robbery. He was expected to plead guilty earlier this year, but pulled out of an agreement with prosecutors. Pastor Whitehead has described himself as a mentee of Mayor Adams. A judge is expected to sentence Pollock in the coming months. A former campaign aide for Representative George Santos admits he impersonated a high-ranking congressional aid to raise money for his boss. Samuel Mealy pleaded guilty to fraud yesterday in federal court.
Starting point is 00:01:16 He's the second former Santos campaign staffer convicted of fraud he could spend 20 years in prison. New York City's controller is calling for an overhaul of the city's contract for City Bike lift management. is the Ride Hale Company. A review of the popular bike share program by controller Brad Lander finds riders face more unusable stations and broken bikes since Lyft took over from City Bike in 2018. The review also finds the problems or worse at stations on the edges of the network primarily in low-income neighborhoods and communities of color. Lander says the city should set performance standards for City Bike on a neighborhood level and enforce them through fines. Representatives for Lyft and the City Department of Transportation did not immediately respond to request for comment.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Amtrak says it expects train service between New York City and Coton on Harmon to partially begin rolling again by tomorrow morning and fully restored, it says, by Friday. The service has not been running since the weekend. After a parking garage in Hell's Kitchen was deemed structurally unsafe, the railroad tracks run directly under the building. The city's buildings department says the property owner is making repairs. 41 and clear now, increasing clouds today in a high of 52, then tomorrow's sunny and 60.
