Here's the morning headlines from Michael Hill.
Dozens of formerly homeless tenants in Brooklyn and the Bronx were hit with eviction notices this year.
After nonprofit groups stopped paying their rent on time,
the organization St. Nick's Alliance rents hundreds of apartments
and then sub-leases them to New Yorkers with special needs.
But since January, landlords have sought to evict about 150 tenants.
Flatbush resident Bridges Smith says your deal has been stressful.
I don't want to lose my part because the program messing up in the city and not paying attention.
St. Nick says it has now paid all the rent and blames the city for taking too long to reimburse it.
But the city's social services agency disputes that claim.
Landlords say they're tired of waiting for the money.
New Jersey Republicans are regrouping after major defeats in legislative elections this month,
as WNMIC's Nancy Solomon reports one takeaways to encourage early voting.
Of the many successes Democrats had on Election Day,
one big edge was the head start they received from early voting.
Democrats eclipsed Republicans in both mailed ballots and in-person early voting.
Now Republican minority leader John DeMaio is trying to do something about it.
We've already met to talk about vote by mail.
We did improve, but we didn't improve enough.
It's going to take some time.
That's because many Republicans are following Donald Trump's lead,
and he's claimed falsely that vote by mail causes fraud.
Democrats will now have a commanding majority in the New Jersey State Legislature.
More than 8.5 million travelers are expected to use various New York and New Jersey
airports, roads, and rails during this Thanksgiving week.
The Port Authority says it expects a record number of travelers this year
because flexible work schedules are more common and help lengthen travel periods.
To accommodate travelers, all lane closures for non-emergency construction will be suspended
through the 5 a.m. next Monday, that's November 27th.
And according to AAA, the Tuesday and Wednesday, before Thanksgiving,
that's tomorrow on this Wednesday, are the busiest air travel days before.
