And ZixT Clubcast, Clubcast episode number 14.
I am Den ZXT with me today.
As always, we have Ivan ZXT.
Pretty cool memes.
Our special guest this week is James Abine.
How do you, man?
How's it going?
Doing pretty good.
Great.
Hi.
Hi.
Hi.
That's me.
James, what is your official title here?
Well, look, before you do that,
I'm trying to get this intro down right.
I was thinking about this and I didn't write anything down because I'm like super prepared.
I imagine writing things down.
And I imagine writing things down.
This is the NZXT Club.
Cass, the official podcast of the NZXT Club community.
You can listen live on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play podcast, whatever it's called, SoundCloud.
Did say Spotify already?
Yeah.
Yeah.
The blog.
The blog.
You can listen live every week, Tuesday, 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
Uh, uh.
I think that's it.
Is there anything else?
All caps when you spell our name.
Yeah, all caps.
Use all caps.
All caps, maybe.
Or it'll come for you.
The cops will come for you.
The feds.
The feds is watching.
So James,
can you let us know
what your official title here is at NZXT?
Yeah, yeah.
So my title is Sales Operations Specialist.
Obviously not where I started here,
but it's what I do now.
I actually started in customer service.
Oh.
Yeah, actually.
Actually, before that, I was a temp,
actually.
Yeah. That's actually one of the coolest things I've experienced working here is seeing people grow with the company and like get the chance to basically, you know, try, try any things and, and, you know, find what they like and do cool stuff. And you're definitely a good example of that, you know, like started to a temp, went to customer service and you wanted to do sales and now you're there. Yeah, now I'm there, yeah, man.
Make you money moves.
Yeah, make you money moves.
I actually had the best advice about transitioning actually from Ivan.
Really?
Oh, I don't remember.
It's okay, dude.
What did I say?
What you told me is show them something that you think you could do better.
That's good advice.
Yeah, exactly.
I wish someone would have told Dennis that.
It is called the podcast.
I'm slowly transitioning away from Instagram.
You finally remember to hit record today.
Right, there you go.
We're learning.
We're learning things.
So James, can you let us know what your day to day is like?
Yeah, yeah.
Get in first thing.
What do you do?
All right.
First thing I do when I get in.
Right.
I make coffee.
Very first thing I do.
What kind of coffee?
So I make the donut shop blend for whatever thing we have out there.
I don't even remember the name.
Yeah, it's like these weird little packets.
It's like it looks like those, um, everything that like juice that comes in like the weird little
packet and suck out the juice.
Yeah.
It's like for babies.
Yeah.
It's for our coffee.
It's coffee for babies.
I don't like the coffee at the office.
No?
No.
It's a Starbucks guy.
I'm not even, I hate Starbucks too, but I prefer that over the coffee we have here.
So I go to Starbucks in the morning.
Gotcha.
Yeah, so like I said, start in, you know, I make the coffee.
I, you know, sit down, turn on my computer, look at, you know, usually the 40 to 50 emails I get overnight.
Offer, like, sport updates.
Yeah, exactly.
Mostly sport updates.
And also Supreme Cross.
Yeah, every Thursday.
I get that, every Thursday I get that Supreme email.
Yeah.
And you're the only person I think of when I get email.
I was wondering if you get it.
And I always ask you to like, I'm like, hey man, you get the drop.
Yeah, yeah.
I wonder what James bought today.
Yeah, but today, you know, aside from the day to day,
I actually didn't buy anything today.
Just so you know.
I do like those Supreme Wallabies.
He got the purple one.
Yeah, dude.
I might have to get that.
Yeah.
The thing is, dude, like, if you're going to buy something,
something online like that, 100% that won't sell out in the store.
Yeah.
That's the thing.
It'll sell out online because it's international.
Yeah, yeah.
But if you ever make your way down to Fairfax, they'll probably still have it in the store.
By the way, if anyone goes to the Fairfax Supreme Shop, there's an NZAT sticker hidden right, right?
Right, right in front of the shop.
I went to that store one time and I waited in line for like an hour, right?
Yeah.
I get in, looking around, and there's only one thing I want.
wanted and it was a purple purple backpack and I asked the guy like hey man how much is it I
wanted and he's like it's not for sale he looked at me like I was dumb and I was like wait it was not for
sale why it on display it's just like it's not for sale man and I'm like okay I'll take that purple
duffel yeah and he's like not for sale either man jeez so what's for sale there then nothing
basically it's just like really nothing to be honest it's like you just wait in line and you go in there
check it out and you walk out with nothing yeah and if you want to buy something it's
Usually like they all have like maybe 10 things on sale.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's kind of a weird business model, but it works from.
The way things are there now is just very different than it was before.
Everything used to be.
So now you go, you line up on Thursdays.
They take your number and they text you a time that you can go inside or they won't text you at all.
Which is insane.
What the heck?
You know, when I started doing, you know, going to Supreme like in high school, you just wait in line.
That's it.
I literally cut school one day.
and waited in line for probably like 13 hours.
Got to the store right before I closed.
Still was able to get what I got.
Wading in line rocking that Gortex.
Dude, I was just waiting.
No, it was actually summer, thank God.
Still rocking that Gortex.
So weird.
Gortex and Timbs.
Yeah, James is like the ultimate hype beast at the office, I must say.
I would say he is a hype beast.
And I didn't even realize, but Alec is a hype beast.
His Twitter, he's been posting a bunch of shoes lately.
Another hype piece I would say is even though he doesn't really show it, it's fun.
Because he's always tucking smack about other people's shoes and flexing on people with his shoes.
Even Eugene, he's always flexing his shoes.
He's always, always.
Who else?
I think Andy, he's always flexing his amoeboes.
Yeah, amoeboes.
You honestly, you can't forget about Leo, man.
Leo's like undercover.
Leo's got swag.
Yeah, dude.
And Leo's got a lot of kicks, too.
He just like doesn't like to wear him all the time.
Yeah.
Yeah, Leo's a good one.
Yeah, yeah.
What do you think, like, shoes, sneakers,
like this kind of stuff has gotten bigger with, like, gamers.
Because before it wasn't a thing, right?
Like, before, if you were a gamer,
you just wore, like, his elder shirt and the cargo pants.
Yeah, that was it.
Like, now is, like, you see, like, big streamers and influencers
who are, like, giant nerds that are rocking, like, you know,
whatever, like, the hottest lady shoe is.
Yeah.
I mean, the thing, so I've noticed that a lot more recently, too.
And I'm not going to say that I'm bothered by it
or anything, these people have, you know, they make a lot of money.
Oh, no, yeah, for sure.
You know, so these things like, you know, people on 100 thieves, people on, you know,
phase, phase especially, but that's just a whole different thing.
But I think, yeah, yeah, that's a different group entirely.
Yeah, like, I think it's just the fact that they have money and they can buy like these
things that are super expensive.
Right.
I actually have a different theory.
I don't think it's about money at all.
What do you think?
Because I see, I see people that don't have money even.
you know being hypebees and I think it's because of internet because
back in the day like you know when you had to find out about something cool like let's
say a supreme drop it was really word of mouth because there was no internet you know
there was no even texting like your friend didn't text you let you know there was no real like
email that you were getting about it either yeah it was like all word of mouth and now with the
internet you can live anywhere in the world and you can find out anything and get access to
whatever's in style, whatever's cool, whatever's, you know, trending, yeah, whatever's
expensive, whatever's cheap, and it doesn't matter. And I think that's why there's so many people now
that are into that sort of stuff. It's not really so much about having money. I think it's just like
they know about it, you know, and they want it. Absolutely. I mean, yeah, you're absolutely very,
social media probably plays a huge, huge thing with these people buying shoes. And, you know, like
like purple's saying right there you have
1200 shoes
you know purple I'm wearing
Travis Scott highs right now
so you know we bowed in the same boat
we both used on the table like oh really
you know so
yeah see same shoes
that's what I'm saying man these shoes are expensive
and another prime example dude
so freaking cloaksie
uh recently
at the uh at Twitchcon
when he was up on stage with
you know whoever he was up on stage on
He was wearing the same shoes that I'm wearing right now.
And it's like these people, man.
Like they just social media, money.
Teams like, I remember, is it a hundred thieves or whatever?
Like they are like partnered with Stock X or with Goat.
Like one of the two.
Oh yeah, StockX.
Yeah, with StockX, dude.
So it's like, it's crazy.
Like that's literally a place to buy and resell, you know, hypey stuff.
I've seen StockX commercials on ESPN.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, you're right.
Yeah.
So it's, it's mainstream now.
It's not, it's no longer like, a secret club that only you know.
It's like everyone sees it now.
It's not.
Like, there's no such thing as like, you know, being cool because you have something.
Because everyone has it now.
Yeah.
And so, what I'm saying, James is it's just lame for wearing those shoes.
I mean, that's.
All right.
So, um, let's go back and talk about your day to day a little bit.
What do you do?
Okay.
Yeah, so sorry.
So back to the day to day.
You're right.
So what are in charge of?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
asked us to tell you, but can you find out what James does here?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I mean, you know, maybe she'll listen.
Damn, my boy, Purple with the lows, though.
I like those, too.
Yeah, Purple told me once on my stream that he flexed on Jared with his Rolex watch on Twitter.
I'm like, I'm like, okay.
There you go.
Thanks, Dom.
That is incorrect, though.
So day to day again.
So essentially, you know, I kind of, I'll go in.
And, yeah, you know, I'll go in.
You know, like I said, I get a bunch of emails, blah, blah, but mostly those emails are from customers.
right customers like buyers for new egg buyers for Canada computers buyers for
mad labs all our distributor distributors people who kind of just sell our stuff
even all their sIs too sorry so cyber power and I buy power cool yes sir so they
obviously all use our stuff use it if you're an SI sell it if you're a distributor
right right and so what I do is process their POs now cool simple what's the
Oh, I'm sorry, they're purchase orders.
Ah, okay.
System integrator, yes.
Fancy lingo?
Yeah, fancy, fancy lingo.
Sales week.
Yeah, in the no.
Yeah, and so, you know, seems easy, seems cool, you know, blah, blah, but like I was telling
you a couple weeks ago, what do I have to do with all our inventory?
I can't just send it to everybody, right?
I have to balance it.
Right.
I have to understand when stuff is coming, you know, how long it's going to take to receive it,
how many of that item, let's say, you know, you know, how many of that item, let's say, you know, you
know, cracking next to you is on back order with X amount of customers and ship it out.
So it becomes pretty, like, stressful.
And I've told you this before.
I told you, did I tell you one time, like, man, your job looks stressful?
Yeah, that's that day.
Every time I walked by your desk is just like, you just have Excel files and just a bunch of numbers.
And I'm in one meeting with James, and we both present in the meeting.
And I present, like, here's like the cool memes of the week.
we made fun of we made fun of people who drink bath water everyone laughs in the media and then
james comes up and then it's just like charts and bar graphs and like all this data i said 50 000
the cases to this one manufacturer yeah like all these like dollar figures and i'm just like
so i could i don't think i could do your job yeah yeah it's just i'd be i don't know the
stresses it's just it seems like it's very easy to like
you know, misplace a decimal point or something and just like ruining some formulas.
Yeah, yeah.
And that actually does happen sometimes, you know?
Actually, I have a question about that.
Yeah.
Since we, since we outed me last week, are you able to say what's like the biggest like screw
up that you've done while here that you're allowed to say?
Coming on this podcast.
Yeah.
No.
No, this is actually, this is dope.
Dang.
You know, it actually, there actually was something.
I mean obviously it's with a customer and shipping something but I want to say that it was and this is actually fine to say because we got the products back you know blah blah right but essentially I was told you know outside of talking to the buyer right okay ship them their next three POs that they have lined up right like for certain dates pretty much he was like all right go ahead go ahead and ship this early right so we're talking about like
1,000 M22s.
Right.
5,000 internal USB hubs, right?
Buyer comes back to us and it's like, hey man, like, why did you send all this stuff?
And I was like, oh, well, you know, sales manager told me that you guys should get this, blah, blah, blah.
Little did I know, the email actually said, this is our projected forecast.
We don't, this is just a placeholder in case, you know, we sell out, blah, blah, blah.
So in doing that, though, it doesn't sound like such a.
huge deal, right? But then those units are just in a limbo until we get it back. Yeah. And we pay to ship it out,
right? I booked the trucks to ship it out. I track it, blah, blah, blah. They still had to receive it.
Then I had to book the truck back. Right. Then I have to get Eunice, you know, our third party warehouse,
to re-receive it. And it was just like a mess. And like, and not just, you know, it didn't
just affect like one person, you know. It kind of affected my entire department.
because it mess with like our forecasts are like oh we got rid of 5,000 great just imagining that guy coming
into work one day and there's just like five pallets of just yeah he's like six of it's doorstep and he's like
what is yeah man and they were like I mean they weren't like super mad about it but he was just super
confused he was just like he was just like why is all this stuff here and I was like I'm sorry man
like I was told you guys wanted it blah blah and uh that led to having like weekly meetings with
that specific uh customer so it's
doesn't happen again.
Wow.
It sounds really, like, I can't imagine how to deal with that stuff.
Like, I screw up like a comma or something in a tweet and they start tripping.
I'm like, oh, my God, people are going to notice it.
Like, my grammar's not right.
Like, who one that notices is me?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a funny thing.
Like, when I, when I screwed up and I changed our corporate account, right?
Like our Twitter handle, like, not very many people noticed, right?
Because it's like such a small thing that a lot of people just don't pay attention to it.
but if like someone gets like a thousand extra like cases or whatever they're like oh there's a lot of stuff here that I know what to do yeah and I mean honestly like like I said it doesn't sound like huge deal you know blah but that messed up like our forecasting we didn't get those units back for like a month probably because of everything that just kind of happened at that time and everybody was just like you know of course looked at me first and I was like hey man I'm just following directions
But yeah, but, you know, things happen.
Balance inventory now.
So like I haven't said, all those spreadsheets that I got open all the time.
It's always honestly like spreadsheets, email, Acumatica,
which is what we used to send stuff out.
And there's like a little tiny corner.
He has a little tiny corner, like window in the corner of a baseball stream or a Twitch stream.
Exactly.
He's got to keep me sane.
Speaking of baseball.
Yeah.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Here we go.
So I'm a New York Yankees fan.
There goes chat.
Chad's blown up.
Oh, man.
Come on, man.
There's Alan right there.
Alan right there.
And I know Chris is typing right now, something about the Astros.
Go ahead.
You guys say whatever you want about the Astros.
They're down 2O to the Nats and got destroyed yesterday.
I believe we have a Slack chat here at work called Injury List.
And it's just people talking about baseball.
stuff and they just added me to it like recently and like one of the first things I wrote in
there I said if you root for a team in a city that you don't live in stop following me but I do give
I do give Abinney or I call you Abbaena yeah but I call Haynes I told Haymes I do give him the
exception just because he's actually from New York so he gets a pass but I don't know what
Varroon no yeah yeah I don't know
Even Andy, man.
That guy is just like in the U.S., nobody's from anywhere.
Like, I'm not really, you know, from the U.S.,
like my family's from Mexico.
So like, where the heck would I root?
Like the Angels, right?
Like, how the players are Dominican, like.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's just baseball in general.
Like, most people are Dominican, Puerto Rican, Venezuela.
Or Japanese, if you get lucky.
Yeah, if you get lucky.
Yeah.
How long did you live in New York for?
So I lived in New York 18 years.
So obviously, since I was born until I was 18, I moved here.
literally like two weeks after I turned 18 to go to Cal Catole for college.
Yeah?
Yes,
did you want to be a movie star or anything like that?
No, no.
Actually, honestly, what I wanted to do back then was be a nurse, dude.
Really?
Yeah, and Calcedoley had like a good nursing program.
Yeah, they do.
And they still do.
Shout out to my Pinoids.
Yeah, man.
Yeah.
But it just wasn't like...
Three Filipino friends, they're all nurses.
Yeah. Honestly, like, I just didn't carry the GPA for it.
And then that,
with like trying to play baseball for them so I can like maintain a scholarship.
It was just not working.
Exactly.
Get out of this room.
Exactly.
But I mean, like I said, it wasn't too bad.
You know, it was fun.
It was good times.
But, you know, in changing my major, I didn't like lose any classes or anything like that, you know,
because I still did kind of something in health care, which is actually went school for rehab therapy.
Really?
Look what I do now.
Yeah.
So how'd you end up from like wanting to do nursing and rehab therapy to like being in NCXT?
Like what path did you take?
So I met Harry in college.
So Harry's another guy that works here.
Like 90% of the people that work at NST are friends of Harry's.
Yeah.
Seriously.
Exactly.
So I was like one of the first three that like of Harry's friends, you know, that worked here.
And so essentially I kind of met him.
We worked together.
And then.
Work together where?
Oh, we worked together at the Indixte.
IT department at Calcutta-L.A.
Okay, cool, cool.
But IT department, Calciolet, when you're a student,
it's mostly you come into a computer lab.
It's like, hey, I need a computer.
All right, cool, that one's free.
Right.
You need any help, let me know.
That's it.
Like, that's all you do.
And so we met there, you know, we kind of clicked a little bit, you know,
in terms of games.
And then he actually...
Hold up.
Sorry, just real quick, real big news.
To me, it's a big news.
Shroud just switched the mixer, apparently.
Oh, my God.
Whoa.
That is news.
Crazy.
Anyway, so you were saying, sorry, you can say everyone's talking about like it was like a big old thing.
Yeah.
Obviously they're going to spend money on people.
Who shot again?
I don't know.
You play some video games or something.
So you're working at IT with Harry at college and then what?
So 2012 rolled around.
Kind of after I first met him and what did I want to do?
You know, he talked about computers all the time.
We're working in the computer lab.
I want to build a computer.
Oh, hey Ray.
And so I wanted to build a computer.
So Harry actually got me to build my first computer.
And what was my first case in 2012?
Phantom 410.
Let's go.
White one.
And I loved it.
I actually still have it in storage.
Really?
Yeah, I do.
I still have it.
I actually use my old Phantom as storage.
It's so big.
Nice.
Yeah, it's true.
But yeah, so I built the computer.
And then, you know, Harry graduated, I want to say a year before me, and he got a job here.
And at the time, you know, he was super busy.
We didn't talk as much, you know, blah, blah, blah.
And then, you know, I kind of graduated and I was looking for jobs in my field, but I was still so, like, into computers, into playing games, like, trying to getting, like, more into that whole culture.
And Harry was like, yeah, man, I think we're, we might be hiring soon.
for customer service because he was transitioning
from customer service to cam.
Ah.
And so there was a spot open.
So I went in as a temp
and then literally three weeks I got hired.
Who was in customer service
when you first went in?
So when I first went in, Dom,
McKay, so still current, right?
We had Cassandra.
Huh?
I don't think you've met actually.
Cassandra, we had
what was it, Adrian?
Lauren who's obviously the customer service manager
and trying to think we had one more
no it was just us six.
Yeah it was us six only and like we sat in like
small room over there and then uh you guys sat in Johnny's old office
yeah yeah exactly that's what they had told me too like that was Johnny's first
yeah man and it was like us six but Harry's another perfect example of someone who
like you you know branched out and grew with the company and
and try different things like Harry came in customer service.
And now he's managing like the entire warehouse basically.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
So it's really, really cool to see you guys, you know, do, do different things and have fun, bro.
Yeah, yeah.
But yeah, so it was literally just us six.
Then we hired another temp because we had like a AMD bracket problems.
And then he got hired on.
So it was a seven.
And then within like a year, I think we hired one more.
Oh, actually, no. It was literally them six.
They hired one more because I was leaving.
I was transitioning.
Okay.
And then that's Matt, and he's still here now.
Right.
But I think Dom and McKay, like, definitely still here.
McKay literally started, like, three months before I did.
So he was still new.
We got to get McKay on this podcast because he has a character.
He's a character.
Oh, dear Lord.
What's interesting about McKay is that he wrote a letter to Johnny.
when he was like 15 years old.
No way.
Yeah.
And, you know, basically telling Johnny how much he loves NZT and all that.
And he does love NZT, you know?
He's a huge fan, yeah.
I love that we have McKay here because, you know, that guy,
that guy will do anything for NZXT.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That dude's hardcore NXT.
You know, he built his 10 keyless, you know, have you seen it?
Yeah.
Purple and white, man.
Purple white and, like, lavender.
His car is hideous, though.
Oh, the blue BRZ.
He's a weed mobile.
Yeah, man.
But, yeah, so customer service literally from six to what they have now, which I think is nine or ten.
Which still not that many people.
Yeah, still not that many for how much they do.
And like, you know.
They kick so much butt.
Like they, and like emails like, you know, like we get like updates from the company.
And like they're always just doing more and more with the same team.
You know, it's like they definitely, you know, they're like the backbone of the company.
You know, because like without customer service like where the heck would be, right?
Yeah.
My service is the only service.
Yeah, man.
But we, people that I was on social media every day.
Like, man, shout out to NZXT customer service.
They really hooked me up.
I didn't think they would.
Yeah.
Some guy was like, I forget what computer was.
It was like a super old PC.
It was like, yeah, like, you know, they gave me a panel for this PC that hasn't been made in like eight years.
Yeah, there you look.
Yeah, yeah.
It's age two.
And it was like, what?
Yeah.
It's tell him to buy a new one.
Yeah.
Like at that point, like, maybe you should buy a new.
I mean, it was buying a case.
Honestly, being in customer service, like, it's actually pretty, like, fulfilling, especially when customers, like, post something on Reddit, they post something on Twitter.
Or, like, you know, like, when we started having live chat, and, you know, you'd call people, you'd kind of video them, try to help them out and stuff like that.
And, like, what I actually used to do, which was actually, like, what the, not the manager of customer service, but the person head of customer, did it want us to do what I would FaceTime people.
They helped them with their BLDs.
Like, literally, like, all my own phone.
I'd be like you know what man like it would be easier if I could see it so we just
FaceTime I think I did it with three people and like it's so much easier and that's
they're like yeah and this yeah yeah yeah nobody wants to see that exactly but you know
with all the like the like remoting into people's computer while you live chat with them
that helps so much and it's just like like like I said when they post about you or like dude
like some of these people like they follow me like on Instagram and then they post like their
setups you know like I have like Lauren the customer service man she's like wait how do you
know this guy and I was like yeah I helped them when I was in customer
service yeah yeah and it's pretty like we've made people like at different community events like
someone came up at the at the pop-up and then because to say to tell me thank you because I helped
them with a crack in like five years ago so it's it's cool to help customer you right it's
it is fulfilling yeah like to actually be able to make a difference but you know it's also I'm sure
frustrating because there's people that get mad yeah yeah yeah
know curse you out and there's definitely those people you know they just get mad and then it's like
people that you uh some people like you get in the phone uh and not you know not saying anything about
our customers at all but you know you get sometimes occasionally you get the older customer that
really doesn't understand you know boomers yeah yeah dude like you know helping people from you know
someone with their mom on the phone that's like 12 to someone that's like 65 years old right oh well
i bought this cracking you know blah blah blah or or you get dad
has no idea what he's doing too.
Yeah.
But his PC's up and running and perfect now, so.
There we go.
Before you moved out here, what part in New York did you live in?
I lived in Brooklyn.
So I actually saw, I mean, I'm not from Brooklyn.
I grew up in Queens.
And then as time went on, Queens is close to Brooklyn.
Five barrels are all close.
But the path that I took or my parents took for living,
it kind of just went further and further until it was Brooklyn.
Right.
And so we moved there.
My parents actually bought a house there when I was in the eighth grade.
Wow, nice.
Yeah, so I was in Brooklyn, which is closer to the city,
and that's kind of what started the whole going to Soho where all the stores are.
You know, not just Supreme, but it's like a 15-minute train ride.
Back in the early 2000s, one of my sisters moved to New York,
and she lived in Brooklyn Heights.
Yeah.
And she rented, I'm not even exaggerating.
She rented a closet.
Yeah.
She rented a closet in a house, and she lived in the first.
She lives in the freaking closet.
She was paying like $2,000 a month.
It's ridiculous, man.
Yeah, it's insane.
And then the thing is, like,
it all depends where you go, obviously, right?
You go to, you know, whatever, wherever in New York.
But, like, rent is astronomical there.
It's insane.
When I was looking for a new place,
you know, my mom just showed me an example, like sizing-wise, right?
So this was like two years ago.
And it was literally probably the size of,
this room with like a room for the bathroom and the rent was 3,500.
Yeah.
And I was like, are you kidding me?
And that was like in, but that was like in Brooklyn, like downtown Brooklyn.
This place called Dumbo, which is like a super nice, like very gentrified place.
But where I, where my parents bought a house, I bought it in bedstay.
Yeah.
Literally down the block from Marcy Projects.
So where Jay-Z's from.
Yeah.
Right there.
Shout out to Queensbridge.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Queens Ridge, you surpass Queens Ridge going to, going to school.
The bridge is over.
Yeah, dude.
I mean, honestly.
I imagine James is chilling on a stoop.
Stoop kid.
Vaping.
Vaping,
yeah.
Looking at his Travis Scotts shoes.
Yeah, dude.
I mean,
honestly,
it was a good time growing up,
especially going back and forth,
like, during college.
Did your parents still live there?
Yeah, my parents still live there.
That's cool.
They bought that house.
Yeah.
You know, back then.
You're right.
It's freaking expensive, man.
Yeah.
I mean, they bought that house for a good price for what it's worth
now like almost tripled in value there's a YouTuber I follow um forgot his name actually but um his
his whole thing is he does these uh apartment tours in new york city and he'll show like 30 million
dollar apartments like 30 that's seriously how much an apartment costs like it freaking eight bedrooms
10 bathrooms four stories and it's just like man like who it's crazy to think that people can
actually live like that you know because yeah i mean it's that expensive because people pay it right
So, yeah, I don't know.
As expensive as L.A. is, I think New York probably is way more expensive.
Yeah.
I mean, like, so in New York, what's popular for people to buy, especially if you live in the city in certain areas, if you live in Brooklyn, certain areas, they have this thing called Brownstones.
Yeah.
So Brownstone is essentially, it's like, and it looks like just like an apartment building.
But you own the whole thing and you have a basement that usually has a front yard.
and a backyard.
Front yard would probably just be like,
it would be cemented over for like your trash can and stuff.
And a stoop.
Yeah,
a stoop, of course.
But it has bottom floor and it has three or four more floors.
And you're this far apart from your neighbors.
Yeah,
you're like super close.
But the thing with brown sons is that they're super long.
So you have a lot of space.
So my aunt owns one in Brooklyn.
And those are like considered like,
if you have a brownstone,
and it's like you made it.
Yeah,
you made it,
yeah.
And so she got it with her husband,
you know,
back like in the sense.
70s.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
For 50 bucks.
Dude, I don't know how much, but it's like, but, you know, she now obviously owns it.
Her husband passed away a while ago, but then, you know, I always thought, oh,
she'd give it to her daughter, blah, blah, blah.
Her daughter works on Wall Street and, like, owns her own brownstone in the city, and she's, like,
doing real good, you know.
So she don't need it.
I actually read that, um, most.
Real estate is owned by people who work on Wall Street in New York City.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And a lot of the places that are gentrified now, like Soho, for example, or like Greenwich Village, which used to be kind of like artists type of districts. Now they're just like multi-million dollar
apartments. Yeah. And it's because these people on Wall Street, these fat cats on Wall Street with their money and stuff. How dare they?
Honestly, dude, like the crazy thing to think about, too, is that in New York, like you're saying, rent and owning a home is so expensive there that people, a lot of people that actually work in New York live in New Jersey.
They live in Connecticut. They live in the tri-state area and commute, which is insane. James went up to his cousin who works on Wall Street and he's like, so you work on Wall Street, but what you know about that stock guy.
Are these shoes worth anything?
Honestly, like, I don't know, man.
She's like insane.
She's like a marathon runner.
You know, she's like getting, she's obviously not super old.
But she's like a marathon runner and like her daughter's like into a two.
And like her daughter goes to school with my half brother.
And it's like a school that you, that they take a test when they're five years old.
And you have to score in the 50th, I'm sorry, the 95th percentile to get in.
Wow.
So it's insane.
Clown State.
Yeah, dude.
I was just like, it's good school, though.
I'm glad my brother goes there.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
It's weird, though, because it's like a really good school.
And it's like in the middle of all these projects, like in the lower east side.
Like literally, like, they surround them and then there's a school.
I have one more question about New York.
Yeah, absolutely.
And it's not really about New York, but who makes the best pizza in L.A.?
Who makes the best pizza in L.A.?
All right, man.
So this is my take on it, all right?
Here we go.
There's a place.
Papa Johns.
No, sir.
Is that dominoes down the street, boy?
I am a Papa John's fan, though.
But Prime Pizza on Fairfax, all right?
Being, probably being, what do you want to say,
bias about it?
Because the guy that helped them open Prime Pizza on Fairfax,
he is from New York, number one,
and he opened a place called Best Pizza near my house.
Best Pizza.
And honestly, it is like pretty good.
What about the pizza that I took you to?
Oh, actually, you know what?
That actually takes the kid.
I'm not going to lie.
Rose City, that's New York style.
Yeah, that guy went to New York.
So this is a pizza place here by the office.
Yeah.
I took James.
It was actually our interns last day.
Oh, we took Mike.
And this pizza guy, young guy too, he's like, you know, maybe 28 years old.
Him and his sister, they went to New York, like on vacation or something when they were
teenagers and they loved it. And when they graduated high school, they went to Italy to study how to make
pizza. They went to like the Neapolitan Pizza University, whatever it's called. Yeah. And they came back
to LA because they're from LA, they wanted to make a pizza place like New York style, but with LA
flavor. So their pizza is like basically Mexican food on pizza. Like it's delicious.
Honestly, that place is actually pretty good. We should go to the after the podcast. It's going to
It is traditionally for the podcast guest to buy the meal.
Oh, totally.
I guess they're going to Roe City.
I'm so glad I'm moving back to that area because I can have Roe City like all the time now.
It's good, too, yeah.
Yeah, I'm looking to move out here super soon, Tuesday because like.
I guess I'm going to leave now.
Well, let's moving into the neighborhood?
Listen, Dennis, I might have an open space in my apartment pretty soon.
You live downtown right now, right?
Oh, right now I do, but I moved back to Alhambra.
So I'm moving, I'm actually finishing up moving,
this coming week.
So, uh, yeah.
Girls from, yeah.
She's like,
she like loves the San Gabriel Valley.
Yeah, dude, I love it.
She's like an honorary Asian.
Because she's like,
noodle's this,
noodles this,
and like apparently,
uh,
you know how like girls would have like a emoji next to like,
whoever they're dating's name.
Mine's a noodle because apparently like,
girls have emojis next to the people they date.
Yeah,
I mean,
sorry,
I mean,
you might be a little bit too old for that.
But apparently like,
no other guy she's dated has ever like going on to grab like noodles.
And I'm like,
what like I grew up by,
garden grove like I love Asian food Korean Vietnamese whatever so like you
tell me like that's I knew you were the one because you like ground for okay
Fu is good dude but is dope there's actually a really good fun place down the street too
that went with Andy and Pat and I forget who else was from SF Jeff no isn't Jeff
Alex Alex Arun Alex Roon tall guy beard oh Tyler that's Tyler he lives here he just doesn't
come to the office.
Oh, is that what it is?
I literally thought he was like from S.F.
He came down just so he can like, you know, do the, like, what do you call it,
the medical insurance meeting.
He's like, I flew down just for this, for this meeting.
Tyler's the devil.
Dude, Tyler is hilarious.
He's really cool, dude.
I'm like, every time he's here, I'm like, okay, what events going on today?
He's like, well, of course I'm here.
Dude, there's free food.
Do you notice how Buffy was last time you?
Yeah, I heard.
No, I wasn't here, actually.
I saw him and I was like, do you take steroids or something?
He went from being really skinny.
Yeah.
It's just being swole.
He's like taking trips to SF and working out with Alec.
Yeah, he's like super butt, man.
I think he'll be here next week.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah, because we have the town hall.
Well, we have the town hall, but we also have the off-sites.
Yeah.
Everyone's coming through for that.
Everyone's coming down next week.
So hopefully we can get some people on the podcast.
I would love to have Jeff on here, but.
Jeff would be great.
He's actually Thursday's Halloween.
So I asked him if he's dressing up and he said he's not going to be here.
Halloween. What a guy.
What a clown.
What a guy.
Maybe you can pre-record with him.
Yeah. Jeff would be a good one.
Jeff's funny, man.
Yeah. I think a pre-record might be
might be in the works for that one.
Yeah. Do a double feature that week or something.
He's trying to avoid the podcast. Well, no.
Not this time.
He's ducking? He's ducking? Exactly.
Duckin us.
So, Abeneh.
Yes, sir.
I don't know what games you play because every time we see you playing anything,
like during the game night, you're playing something completely different.
Yeah.
I saw you play in the division and then you used to stream Fortnite.
So that's like I don't know.
What's your current like favorite game right now?
What are you running on?
So right now, current, obviously would be Fortnite.
Don't, don't.
But the good thing about-
I'm meeting you forever now.
The good thing about that is that, you know,
a new call duty comes out tomorrow.
But we get it, me, dazzle, you know,
few other people get it today. You can play it 6 o'clock today. Hashtag modern warfare. Yes, sir. And that's
honestly. Do we really care about call duty in 19? I do. I do. Only on mobile. Oh yeah.
Dude, I was actually, I think you missed it the other day. Me, oh, me and Dazzle, but a bunch of us
playing call duty mobile in the computer trying to get geared up. Actually, a lot of people do. Yeah.
I heard like the majority of called mobile players or on PC or something and just like cheating it.
I don't know like I
I remember
I remember playing call of duty
like
I remember like modern warfare
yeah I remember like modern warfare too
I remember like before it was like
like call duty one and two and three you know
like on consoles and stuff like that
yeah
I like I played so much call duty
over the years that I can't like
I have a hard time caring now
yeah yeah you know like I tried black ops three
yeah oh you know it's got the BRMO
and all the stuff and it was cool
for a bit, but then like the lobbies on PC started dying.
Yeah, died out really quick.
People started doing that dumb cheese that they always do.
And I'm like, I was like, I feel like, yeah, Black,
Black Ops 4.
It's all good.
Yeah, Black Ops 4, yeah.
Calm down.
Geez.
People's going to nuts.
But, I mean, we, we did play that for a minute, you know,
and then kind of went back to Fortnite.
Yeah.
Just because, you know, Fortnite's like a game where it's like always changing.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, especially with Chapter 2 right now.
But honestly, Cod's out, dude.
I probably won't be on Fortnite for a couple months, to be honest.
Months, really.
Yeah, dude.
I can't imagine playing Call it
for months.
I think it's like a game I play
if we're to buy it for like two weeks
and then to be done with it.
Because like what else is there?
You're shooting people a little time.
Shooting people the whole time.
I mean, it's not even being biased, dude.
It's just that's like my,
aside from Halo, like that's my favorite game.
And Call of Duty has been kind of a close knit with Halo for me
like for one and two for a long time.
And where's Halo now?
I'm not a huge Callow Duty fan,
but what I like about Call of Duty is that,
It's a kind of, it's a game kind of like Madden where everyone plays it.
Yeah.
Like, you go to someone's house and you want to play?
Like, sure, where do you got?
I got, you know, call duty, Madden and, you know, what other game people play together?
Yeah.
But it's like a staple, right?
Like, everyone knows how to play it.
Yeah, exactly.
And it's like, it's just something that me and dazzle, like, I've actually known dazzle for like 15 going on 16 years.
And it started because of shoes and it's evolved into gaming.
So, okay, let's get into the shoe thing.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
All right.
Currently, I own, it's under the number it was before,
just because I've been selling a lot recently,
but close to 100.
Yeah, and that's, but that's divided between here and New York.
And all kid sizes, right?
Yeah, all kids size, dude.
So what happened was in high school,
in high school, we, in high school is kind of,
when I was in high school is when I got into it
and it was kind of just starting
this whole sneaker collecting thing, right?
There was a forum called ISS forums.
Shut down now.
Rest in peace, ISS.
But that was the spot, dude.
ISIS forums?
Yeah.
ISS stands for inside-style shoes
and it was made by so collect.
FBI shut it down on accident.
And so on there,
all right, you didn't have top feedback or I'd calm down, dude.
But Derek did have a lot.
But Derek was into everything just like I was.
Vans.
you know anything supreme jordan's everything right back then it was hard to get original jordan's
right prices were high for one and for two they hadn't started retroing them yet like now every year
new jordan's can't come out that came out you know 96 right you know something like that and so it
started there and that's how i got into it and uh now it's just like everyone kind of does it you know
because the culture is just so different now it's like young kids yeah i'm i'm a little older than you
Just a little bit.
Just a little bit.
Not so much.
No, but when I was a kid, you know, like, and Michael Jordan was actually plain.
Yeah.
And those shoes would come out.
Like, kids would, you know, kids would get them.
They weren't, they actually weren't that expensive, to be honest.
They were like $100.
Yeah.
But once you got those shoes, like, you had to wear them every day.
Like, I had one pair of Jordans, and I literally wore them, like, every day for, like, two years.
I'm serious.
Yeah.
But that's how everyone was back then.
There was no such thing as, like, collecting or, you know.
or trading or any of that stuff.
Yeah, yeah.
But now, dude, it's like a business, huh?
Yeah, exactly.
And, you know, just since we're on the subject
and I see Gabby, you know, asking about the hype,
the hype is that now Jordans are very accessible.
They're not limited anymore.
There are limited ones, like obviously the Travis Scott,
you know, stuff like that.
But classic ones, anything black and red, blah, blah,
it's not limited anymore.
Right.
And it never really was to begin with.
But the reason they said,
sell out and people and the reason why people are able to resell them is because they know people
want them.
Right.
It's like anything, right?
It's like magic cards or it's like whatever.
There's a demand for it.
So people are going to sell it.
Yeah.
There's only, I mean, you know, they only made so many of those original Jordan.
So eventually, you know, like some are sitting in a closet.
Some got destroyed by some kid who is actually wearing them all day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you know.
Some people want that original version of it.
Yeah.
Exactly.
And like the thing with Jordans, you know, they were basketball shoes.
Yeah.
They still kind of are, but, you know, the thing, the difference with Adidas, Adidas is more of a lifestyle running shoe.
You know, Jordan's, or Jordan, you know, it's a Nike shoe, now Jordan's his own brand.
Yep.
And the hype around that compared to something like Adidas is just the fact that, you know, this is one famous athlete.
Right.
Who has other athletes signed him, but are their shoes as popular as Michael Jordans?
No.
Why?
Because he's the greatest of all time.
Right.
And it's nostalgic for some people.
Arguably.
Yeah.
Arguably.
Yeah.
But yeah, you know, it's like, I've heard arguments.
There you go.
We should get some, yeah, we should get some purple crox.
Those are my new shoes right there?
Yeah.
We should all wear crocs in the office, the most comfy.
Sure, crocs and the, in the attain.
So how can you're selling your shoes off?
Honestly, I'm selling my shoes off now because there's such a high demand for older pairs.
There are for newer pairs, too.
like, you know, some fear of God shoes that I, you know, got recently.
You know, they have a high price tag.
I can't justify keeping something like that.
Right.
And it was also just a color that it wasn't going to wear.
Sold them.
And you also have no fear of God.
Exactly.
Exactly.
But, you know, some shoes I do keep, like, like, you know, purple was saying before,
like, these Travis Scott shoes, like, they're expensive.
I'm about to step on those shoes.
I'm going to keep talking about them.
They're expensive.
You know, they're worth a lot of money, but why do I wear them?
I like Jordans.
Right.
And, you know, they're Jordan ones.
So it's like, you know, you keep certain things, you sell certain things.
Also, Jordan, the reason I think Jordan shoes are so hyped, at least from my perspective, you know, when I was a kid, before Jordan, the cool shoes were converse.
But not like the Chuck Taylor's.
Those are before my time.
But my time was like the Magic Johnson Converse.
Yeah, the cons.
cons I guess yeah
but they were ugly
they're ugly you know
and then when Jordan's shoes came out
I believe the first ones
were all red
with a white stripe
and they just looked awesome
and I think that was like the first shoe
that actually looked good with the uniform
and this was around the time when
Jordan started wearing longer shorts too
like he used to wear short shorts
yeah short short short they started getting a little bit longer
a little bit longer, a little bit longer.
So like the whole style, like turning sports into a style.
Yeah, that's like Jordan kind of like is one of the guys that kind of sparked that movement.
Yeah.
But then, you know, once the shorts got long, I think it's because those guys from Michigan.
Yeah.
The fat five, man.
They, they protested at one game.
They're like, we're going to come out there with black socks.
Dude, they would trade shorts, they would trade shorts like with like Jaylon Rose, Chris Weber.
they would trade shorts with the bigger guys on the team
because the bigger guys wanted shorter shorts
and they wanted super long and baggy shorts.
If they remember picking the kid and watching them lose
and Chris was crying on the floor.
Like I'll never forget that.
He was on the floor like crying.
That's like one of my favorite documentaries.
Obviously I wasn't like, well I mean I was alive when it happened
but I wasn't.
I remember that.
I hadn't have any recollection of it.
So when I watched it, you know, my dad was like,
oh, you better watch it, Bob.
I was like, dude, I'm already going to watch this.
You know?
Yeah, that whole era.
that's when like hypebees culture I think first formed yeah if you think about it yeah and
especially like because it didn't start when Jordan came out his first shoes you know it didn't start
any other time Jordan's like his shoes actually were like used for skateboarding yeah that was like
you can actually get him at pay list now yeah yeah exactly because he has so many like weird different ones
like if they're not numbered from like one to 13 they're not really worth anything
But it's just like you talk about the first shoe that he wore, right?
All red, the white stripe.
That shoe was actually banned from the NBA.
Yeah, I remember that.
Yeah.
It was a big deal because it was like different from everyone else's because it wasn't like, you know, discreet.
It was like like one guy wearing loud shoes.
Yeah, exactly.
And they had no choice but to let him do it because this guy was the best player of all time.
Yeah.
Like, okay, let him do it.
And he's also, I think, the first guy to have like,
a massive deal like that yeah other guys like you know magic Johnson I'm sure he had like
something with converse yeah but like I said those shoes were ugly they're not fashionable like you
can only really wear those two play basketball yeah and the Jordan shoes like I can wear my jeans
with these yeah exactly where you like you can you don't just have to wear them on the court yeah yeah
that's what it was and it's like when they started evolving right people wore them for skating
dude the ones the twos the threes the fours like people wore those for skating yeah back then and the
Reason too is because I was skating back then.
Yeah, yeah.
The vans, they were actually not that good for skating because vans didn't have high tops.
Yeah.
Vans only had low tops.
Low tops, like slip-ons and-on.
There were aeros.
So I think it was Steve Kebayorro who he was like the guy that was wearing, he was wearing Jordans.
Yeah.
And then he told vans, he's like, hey, can you make this shoe but high top for me?
No.
And they made him one like a really big high top like the Jordans.
And then he used to cut them in half
And he wore him like that
He would just cut him half with scissors
And that's how they meant to the half cap
And now that's like the standard skate shoe
Is that?
Half cab, yeah. Locking from Jordans, dude
Yeah, exactly
And that's why Steve is still on advance of this day, dude
Why are we talking so much about shoes?
Because it's the shoe guy, man
This is the special guest.
Listen, Jeff, all right?
Listen, man
What's the most expensive pair of shoes you got?
That I have?
The ones he's wearing right now.
I mean, honestly, probably
this but uh no i have a uh there's a pack that came out so jordan started doing these double
packs of shoes they were called like uh defining moments right so the first one that came out was a pair
of sixes which is when he won his first championship and a pair of 11s when he won his last championship
it's actually kind of cool so those are the defining moments of his career right so those came out
the six actually i would say is when he joined the white socks
But he does make shoes for the Barrens, though, the team that he played for.
But the Defining Moments package, both shoes are black and gold.
Oh, nice.
But the 11s look like Concords, which is just black and white, Jordan 11s.
Right.
But they have like a gold hue on it.
Oh.
And on the eyelets of the shoe, it says Jordan in gold.
Some do and some don't.
It was just random.
Right.
I happened to get a package, which was back then, dude, that package was $300.
I was like, man, this is a lot of money.
But when you think about it, really not, right?
That thing sells for like 10 grand now.
The ones with the islets on it.
Wow.
If it doesn't have the Jordan on the islets, probably like 2,000, 3,000.
But I have a pack brand new still.
And so does my stepdad.
And his, but his doesn't have the Jordan on the islets like mine.
Yeah, I know a couple of dudes in the finding game community who they literally buy and resell sneakers like all day.
Yeah.
And that's how they afford their travel to go to tournaments.
Yeah.
And they're really, really good a player.
but like traveling the tournaments especially with like fighting games it's a it's a very in-person
thing like you don't really play online tournaments because in the internet sucks so like they that
that's what they do they just hustle shoes all day they make their money they go to tournaments
they win maybe they lose the turn whatever money that they might win into more sneaker money
to for more travel money and they like literally pay like nothing out of pocket like at this point
they just have so much money accumulated from from these deals they're making how much what you gave me for
dennis's squeaky shoes
The squeaky shoes.
So let's say because I'm actually really curious about this.
If somebody wanted to start getting into sneakers, like, okay, I want to start buying cool sneakers.
Like, what do you do?
Like, how do you start?
Because, like, at this point, it seems like it's such like a big, like a community that like it might seem almost like impenetrable.
Just sell your PC buy sneakers.
Easy.
I mean, it's, I don't think it's too late to start.
It's a hard time to start, though.
but because the issue is what's popular right now
a lot of people want Yeezis
a lot of people want Jordans
you know so it's like what do you do right
easies even though he makes so many they're still hard to get
right fun fact the warehouse
where we store our components and all the club rewards
is actually the same warehouse where they store Yeasies
yes that is it's like right next to put like there's like pallets of
Poochis and right next to Pucci there's just like boxes of Yeezies.
Dude, and it's like, and it's like a lot.
Like, it's like so many.
Like, it's crazy because like I, I even used to think they were limited until I worked,
like, in sneaker store like more recently.
Right.
And then I see the warehouse and it's like stock, dude.
Like across street, it's crazy.
But if you want to start, yeah, there are Uisys that are under retail and StockX,
which is like, it's just because you make so many.
Yeah, I think, you know.
They're just like, like, yeah.
Like everyone has UZs
My mom has Yis
My mom has Yis
I was like I was like
I just feel like
Yeasies are like
I see them everywhere
Yeah
But I still think it's a cool shoe
But I'm not a big shoe guy
Yeah
Yeah like my mom has you
I am looking for
I went shoe shopping last week
I couldn't find what I was looking for
I'm looking for some cool new balances
Yeah
Dude new balance is a shoe
That I actually do like a lot
Really
They're super comfortable
And not even to be like
bias like oh made in the USA is the best one they really are the best one they're super comfortable yeah so
new bounce 997s like made in USA it's a high price 180 bucks you're like why the shoe doesn't
like it doesn't break it doesn't tear like it's comfortable like I've had a pair for like
dang dude probably like seven years still looks brand new but it's comfortable dude I'm actually
looking to pick up a new pair of nmds because I have I've like the
single pair they're like the orange and like white ones and I love them a lot but like
once that foam gets dirty dude you can't really do much about it I bought like a
full like like I wanted to like sneaker head forums and like subredits and try to
okay like what's the best sneaker cleaning kit like nothing gets the crap I think that's
the boost on ultra booze and these it's the hardest thing to clean yeah that's what I
heard but I love the shoes are so comfy yeah oh yeah you know the dudes
I hate those guys.
Those guys are annoying, man.
Those guys are such scumbags because I was with them, buddy, once.
There's like years ago at the mall and they're like, hey, man, let me clean your
sneaker show you how this thing does.
Okay, cool.
So they clean one shoe and then you left with one clean, or quote unquote, clean shoe and
one super dirty sneaker.
Like, you're going to have to buy the kit.
It's such a shady tactic.
I hate it.
It doesn't matter what shoes you're wearing.
They're going to hit you up.
I even told one guy one time, like, you know, I'm wearing like, because I'm wearing like some
like desert boots or something.
Yeah, Clarks.
Yeah.
It's like I don't have stuff.
Dude,
you had dazzle told me about that story.
One time we cleaned one of my shoes,
then it dried and it was just dirty again.
Yeah.
One time we cleaned one of my shoes,
it comes to the hard brush,
but they used to sell with a hard and a soft brush.
I bought the resumingator kit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The restriminator is pretty good.
I love that channel.
I don't anything about sneakers, but I love watching those guys
just clean sneakers like 30 minutes on their YouTube channel.
You should be saying you had dirty shoes, try clean it with some Fubiloso.
It's holding that joke in front of the entire.
Okay, so I think I kind of lean more to like the knit shoes.
What's your opinion on those?
Knit shoes, so I got, so I have a mixed opinion on them because I've owned a pair.
So the first pair of NMDs were Nits.
Yeah, they're easy to clean.
Yeah, they're easy to clean for one, but you have to get like half,
size small. Yeah. So I got a nine. It was huge, dude. And it was the first one. Luckily,
it was before the whole NMD hype. Yeah. So I was able to just switch my size out because I worked
at a store. Are my shoes knit? I don't even know. Yeah, they are. Yeah, they are. I hate these shoes.
You know what I hate about these? What? My feet get cold when I'm writing my scooter.
Yeah, dude. I'm riding my scooter and my feet are cold. I'm like, these shoes suck. Yeah.
Air just goes right through them, man. Yeah. Did you hear that final mouse is making sneakers?
No way
I do like their mice though
They should call me squeakers
Final mouse squeakers
Final mouse squeakers
It's a little red nose right
The very tip of the shoe
Yeah
Yeah like
Because my feet get really really hot
So like the nits are like for me
And they look pretty good
But like I have a hard time
Finding like a pair of shoes
Like I actually like him that I would wear every day
Because like one
I don't own a lot of shoes
I have like six pairs
Like tops
So like yes
So like if I if I'm
to buy a sneaker, I'm going to wear it
like everywhere.
And yeah, unfortunately, I still like some of the
color ways that they make in those.
Yeah, yeah, it's just they.
I need someone to tell me, this is the one you want to buy.
Okay, cool, then I just buy it.
I mean, what you want to look for,
what you like is a knit one.
You just want to look for a primed knit.
Okay.
That's the one right there.
Like mine.
Yeah, I have one of those.
And then I have, what's the, the knit,
Nike's?
So those are fly knit.
Flinette, yeah.
Yeah, so they use fly knit technology.
I mean, Adidas is like the same.
It's the same thing, dude.
Prime knit, fly knit is like the same thing.
The difference with fly knit, the Nike one, is that it's wired to hold it.
So like I've in shoes, right?
Prime knit is literally like, I mean, obviously not by a person, but it's like a sock.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
I know way too much about shoes now.
The look ninja shoes.
I want to forget everything you.
We can switch a subject, but yeah, you know.
Yes, I do know a lot, you know.
It's just what I've been into for a long time.
And that's actually what I like about.
like our staff and our company there's so many people who like are into so many different
things right like Pat was like super in the audio and yeah gaming is our common thing yes but
we all have interests outside of that yeah so jeff if you don't like that you can turn off
the podcast go get back to work again was ever approached mid souls like we are so they are
really making shoes that's crazy yeah the twitter triggers me so hard dude i love i love
my message twitter triggers me so hard i actually rent it
Yeah, there you do it with them.
It's just like, I mean, when we went to the ninja thing with King Richard,
we met like the dude that, I guess he's the CEO.
Yeah.
And cool guy.
Yeah, he's a cool dude.
And he seems like, you know, he knows a lot about the industry.
But making sneakers.
Dude, that's the troll.
It's tough, man.
Hey, man.
You know how many companies like release sneakers that don't, just don't do anything?
That's what I like about.
It's cool.
You know, people always tell us we're crazy.
Yeah.
That's true.
That's why I look doing.
Yeah, maybe, you know, it's just like, you do it, you do it.
I have a question.
Yes, sir.
Because I know a little bit, what's your Holy Grail?
My Holy Grail?
Oh, for sure.
So it's actually a shoe that's not even worth a lot of money.
Okay.
It's a shoe that I had when I was in seventh grade, right?
Seventh grade, what happened?
I didn't really like shoes back then.
You know, whatever.
They're Jordans, their sixes.
We went like a camping thing through summer for school.
right we went kayaking and I went on the kayak or the canoeing canoeing right so I went
canoeing with one of my with like one of my friends or whatever right dudes like you know back
then he was he's a heavier kid you know right when we get to shore dude we freaking fall into
the water and I'm wearing these shoes obviously the shoes wouldn't fit me now yeah but they're
they're sixes like I said and they're literally just white and they have accents of navy in the
bottom.
Oh.
It's very simple, very clean shoe.
I've only owned it back then, and I owned it once in high school, but they deteriorated.
The shoes only came out in 2000.
So we're talking I had it eight, nine years later, and now it's 19 years later.
It's like, no one sells the shoes.
There was one pair on Stock X, and it sold for like $540.
You know?
Did you have gotten it?
No.
I wouldn't have.
I mean, I could have.
I mean, I could have.
Yeah.
It's just like, to me, yes, it is my holy grill, but on stock.
You can't really see if the shoe's wearable or not.
You know, you pay for the shoe.
It gets verified that the shoe's new and in the box.
You know, everything's authentic.
But it's like, how can I determine if it's wearable?
Right.
By wearing it?
Yeah, exactly.
But it's going to freaking deteriorate.
It's a shoe that I would wear a lot.
Right.
You got to shop on Zappo X.
It's my favorite shoe.
Zappo X.
Yeah.
The shoe, like, there is like a new pair at Flight Club and it's selling for like $800.
but that's just because it's older.
Right.
You know, it really,
it's nothing special about the shoe at all.
It's literally white with little accents of navy.
That's it.
And it's just like a shoe that I love.
Right.
I feel like everybody has like that one thing.
Even if it's not stinkers,
like if they could find it,
they would just buy it like right then and right there.
Yeah.
Even if it's like that.
I've spent some stupid amounts of money on records.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You tell me, yeah.
Yeah, I don't think I really collect anything top of my head.
I just, you know,
I just buy like hats that I like.
like pretty much like if I say there's anything like I collect it's by hats yeah like I have a
Starcraft two hat then now I can't wear anymore I refuse to I think it's good to have a collection
honestly yeah because it it gives you something like like besides that's that's not work that you can
like track and like yeah it's good to collect something you know it just doesn't it's just bad for me
that it's shoes like the anime figurines I mean that'd be cool then I have I
I know a few people that do.
Then you'd be a PC builder.
Got them.
Andy with these amoeboes.
So let's get back on track here.
Yeah, yes, yes.
What is your favorite NZXT product and why?
That's supposed to be the last question, Ivan.
Never mind.
We always ask that the very end.
Why don't we go back to the last part when the community asks us questions?
We could do that.
But we could also not.
We can discuss it afterwards, Ivan.
You're in charge here.
Thanks, I know, I'm in charge, man.
I'm just a sound effects guy.
But actually, I think we should probably open up to the community
and see the question they have.
I know we have a big old backlog that Vivian put up for us,
so let's just scroll all the way down.
Okay.
Is that it?
That's an old one.
Someone did not unpinned stuff.
Why is the Cooper remote not uploaded in the NZXC Discord?
I think Vivian already's handling that one with Derek.
That's cool.
That's cool.
Yeah, sir.
If NXT made PJs, would you guys wear it?
Absolutely.
We kind of did and we, right?
I mean, like the tail stuff.
The pajama.
I actually wore those in bed last night.
Yeah, I mean, if I wore, you know, like pants to bed, then maybe.
But I don't.
So it's fine.
What car?
Well, actually, because I know he's going to want to ask it anyway.
What car do you drive and why is it a super?
I mean, I don't drive a super.
But I drive a Honda court, but I'm actually looking to get a truck pretty soon for my
truck.
Yeah, for my business.
What business?
My Asi Bowl business.
So I have food vendor business.
You know, night markets and festivals.
Yeah, yeah.
So we've only done two events because it's the end of the year.
There's not much to do.
But I'm possibly doing day in Vegas next weekend.
What's the name of it?
It's called the Asi Bros.
Because I started it with, so my friend's been doing like this food vendor thing for like four
years now and he approached me and another guy that we all were in the same fraternity in college.
I have a new concept. I want to start it with you guys. Right. And so we started that. We've done two
events. One really good, one terrible. But you kind of get in with the people that do these
events so you can get booked for more stuff. But he's the only one with the truck. So it's like,
what kind of truck are you going to get? I'm probably going to get a tundra, probably Toyota Tundra.
You know Tesla's coming out with a truck? Yeah, I know. They are.
Yeah, I know.
It looks awesome.
I'm actually kind of wanted Tesla truck.
It looks really, really cool.
I'm definitely, yeah, but I'm definitely looking to get a truck soon.
But right now, Honda Cord Sport.
It hasn't failed me in six years.
Your car I've always wanted is, what's that old hatchback?
WRX?
Oh, wait, WRX, Subaru.
Yeah.
I mean, they make it newer one.
No, no, no, no.
The, which one?
Honda, Honda.
Oh, I forget which one is called.
The CRV.
CRV or CRX.
CRX.
X.
I always confused the X and the people like like I've always wanted one of those cars and I don't know why
When I was in high school my friend had one and
One day we were driving down Beach Boulevard
And and it said it because me and Dennis are from the same town right? Yeah
Same good
And we we pull into the driveway at his house and we get out and there's a cop car behind us with the lights on
It's like I've been shining my light on you guys for five miles. Why didn't you pull over? Yeah
Like we you cannot literally you cannot see in the rear rear mirror that car
Yeah yeah yeah yeah it's super small yeah yeah
You had no idea the cops are chasing us like five miles
Dude my cousin had one too and uh this probably when I was like like eight he owned a car shop with another cousin
Oh nice he went to open like the sunroof and I'm not even kidding dude the glass flew off
Like driving down the freeway going like 60 dude can imagine that
Yeah, it was a guy behind you.
It was hilarious.
All right.
Favorite animas?
My favorite anime?
Do you watch anime?
I do, but, you know, I don't watch a lot of, like, older ones or, you know, I watch, you know, like, whatever the season is.
You know what I mean?
Like, but my favorite one probably is going to be seven deadly sins, but season one.
Okay.
Before Netflix bought it.
Subs or dubs?
Yeah.
Subtitles or dubs?
Oh, no.
I like dub.
I don't like watching what's freaking subtitles is fine.
But, you know, depends.
Depends the mood I'm in, but I kind of do dub mostly.
N60 collab win.
Actually, it's a good question.
If there's a sneaker, you would love to have like NXC branding on.
What would it be?
I don't know.
Final Mast sneaker.
I know.
It sits coming.
If there would be a collab with it,
probably you'd probably look to do probably Adidas, honestly.
That's the, not the easiest one to get, but it's just,
It's easier than Nike.
Oh, young, Ninja?
That's for sure.
Right.
Yeah, you know.
What shoe would you recommend for someone starting his midlife crisis?
Jeff, you'd probably want to start with getting a nice pair of black and red or bread, Air Jordan ones.
I was going to say, yeah, what's your opinion on the Black Jordans?
I mean, dude.
And like that whole meme around, you know, people who wear Black Jordans.
I know, dude.
Should I buy a pair of Black Jordans?
No, you should not.
No?
No, no.
If I came in, if I buy a pair of Black Jordans over the weekend, what would you do?
I mean, we'd have to start meming you.
We've got to keep current, right?
What is the best pair of sketchers?
Shape-ups.
Shape-ups, man.
Don't you see the ex-athletes they have with shape-ups, dude?
There's got to be the best pair.
I do want to try and just feel like walking in those things.
I've never, ever worn a pair of sketchers in my life.
Not even when I was a kid.
This is definitely a question for you.
Best Pizza in L.A. I think you would answer that right.
Yeah, I mean, we'd go with Prime or
Rose City.
Yeah.
Let me,
yeah.
Ro City,
pizza,
man.
Ro City,
though,
is actually super good.
Um,
Minecraft or Fortnite.
Uh,
I mean,
yeah,
I'd say Fortnite.
Yeah.
I did play a lot of Minecraft though.
I'm not gonna lie.
Actually,
um,
actually started playing Fortnite like a lot more of the season.
Yeah.
Like I'm like,
kind of digging it.
Cause like I,
I played a little bit like in between that like,
when Destiny was like,
didn't have any updates and like there was nothing else coming out.
I'm like,
yeah,
because I played Fortnite for like a week or two.
Yeah.
Um,
and like now like,
I think my streaming time
and it's like my regular playing time
is split between just Fortnite and Destiny
like I just do one and then the other day
I'll do the other.
Yeah.
That's a guy,
no, I saw you streaming Fortnite so.
I know, it's weird.
I'm super bad at it, dude.
I'm super bad.
I can't build, save my life.
But like,
I realize that 90% of the people
who are like,
who are like build monsters
just suck.
Yeah.
Like all they can do is build
but they can't shoot.
So usually I just wait for them
to do something dumb unless bambooz alone.
Like I literally,
I just build one ramp
and then they try to go do all this crazy stuff
and it's like,
Okay, and you're dropping down here, and then I move to the left and shoot in the face.
It's easy, peasy.
Any plans for X570 boards?
Obviously, a question for the guy who works on shipping.
Yeah, absolutely, right?
X570 boards.
Whatever the next gen chipset for AMD is called.
If you're a big fan, you would know what it was called.
Yeah, exactly.
I can actually answer that one.
We're always thinking about everything.
Yes, sir.
Whether we do it or not is another matter entirely.
If we could, we'd make every product for everything, but it's whether it makes sense for us
and whether we can do something that makes it worth it.
Yeah, and it's obviously not super.
easy to make stuff like that.
Yeah.
Yeah, just the,
the deals in place to get a motherboard made is like very...
It is easy if we just don't put our name on it.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
It's very laborious.
Will N60 do custom water cooling in the future?
We're in the cracking business, boys.
Yes, sir.
Cracking business, which...
I think the CS team has enough work already with just like regular products
than have and deal with custom water cooling.
And like just,
not even like just making it,
but like shipping it out and making sure there's a break.
Not only of that is we're all about making things simple.
Yeah.
Watercalling is not easy.
Not making things harder.
Yeah.
Let's not pretend like water cooling is like a super simple solution.
It's work and dedication.
It's a lot of research you got to do to make sure you don't break anything.
But the next question here is from Monk.
Will NXT make a case for custom water cooling is a real question?
And the answer is all our cases support custom water cooling.
This is true.
And if you know what you're doing, it won't be a problem.
You just got to shorten up your tubes.
Yeah.
NXT game one.
Dang.
It's from Gabby.
I don't know.
I don't know, man.
I might say we're playing it right now.
Exactly.
That's not a question, Jeff.
And then that's Jeff and that's Ivan.
I'll see any other questions here quick.
I'm going to scroll up a quick
to see what people are saying.
Yeah, if you guys have any more questions for James
or Dennis or I, just let us know.
Yeah, or anything.
I would buy that.
I would buy that pair of sneakers, actually.
I would do.
I don't like the logo's on there.
Yeah,
do I think I think if you do it it should be all purple with white nzicc T lettering kind of like splattered
around yeah like Louis V desert or something yeah dude someone get on that like you actually I could
we could probably commission somebody like on fiber or whatever to make like a pair of custom vans
oh yeah I'm gonna get on that someone write it down for me and send me a DM so I can do it yeah
right there that's actually good one operable set of vans tagge of nixxia yeah y'all need designs
y'all need designs there's pretty good to designing stuff dude I'm not even
If I ever do stream again, everything on my stream, like the, like everything, Derek made it.
Oh, really?
How come you don't the stream anymore?
You know what, man?
Scared of Andy?
No, no.
Yeah, you know what?
Andy's actually overtaking.
He tweeted the wrong Twitch last night.
I saw that, dude.
Honestly, for me, you know, it's cool, it's fun.
But the thing is, like, Derek's a good friend of mine.
I always play with him when he streams anyway.
if I'm going to stream at the same time.
What's,
you know what I mean?
Like,
what's really the point?
Well,
you'd be surprised because,
like,
a lot of people will do that.
Like,
Ninja Tim,
yeah,
yeah,
yeah,
the stream at the same time,
but I think because they have,
they're different people
have different audiences.
It's also their business.
Yes,
exactly.
Of course,
yeah,
but I mean,
like,
you know,
like,
why not just pile everything
in the one stream?
Yeah.
Like,
maybe some people like,
image.
Yeah,
yeah,
maybe, right?
What did I call you
the first time
me came into my stream and I didn't know it was you.
I think he said like Elmidge or something like I don't know I don't remember I remember though
or Imagy yeah a lot of people say that yeah yeah it was a it was a wise you're so your your
your your your name is wise image yeah and I was like whizimogy what's up dog like thanks for
hopping in the stream dude yeah I mean honestly I'll probably start again soon it's just been
October's been a crazy month and then you know I got all this moving stuff going on so it's like
maybe I'll start again soon, maybe I won't, but
kind of do want to, more I think about it.
Jeff wants to know, has Andy been on the podcast?
If you listened, you would know.
If you listen on iTunes, Spotify,
Google, or SoundCloud, then you would know.
Yeah.
Also, if there are other platforms,
you guys want to throw the podcast and let us know.
Someone was talking about Stitcher the other day,
and I was like, people still use Stitcher?
Stitcher.
Podcast happens every Thursday.
Every Thursday at 10 a.m. Pacific.
Pacific.
Yeah.
Live stream on Twitch.
We should.
We want to.
We still working on stuff.
That is a really ugly link.
Maybe I don't know what that's that for.
Oh my God.
Do you have any questions for us?
I mean, me, no.
Absolutely not.
Nothing you want to ask me or Ivan?
No burning, burning sensations.
You know,
for us.
There would be, honestly, but the thing is, I work with you guys.
And it's like, anything I do need to ask,
kind of gets answered on Slack anyway.
So no, I mean, I know I haven't had that burning question for me of what my favorite
NZXT product is.
Sure.
And why?
And why?
And why?
And why?
And keep it very simple.
And it is the internal USB hub.
Now, why is that my favorite product?
Because you accidentally shipped a bunch of people to buy it.
It's actually because.
We're the only people that make something like that.
Yes.
And it's something.
Surprisingly enough, like no one else makes it.
Yeah, no one else makes that.
And the thing about that is, you can use it in your case.
You can use it outside of your case.
You know, I know people that use it that plug in the outside,
they just need more USB slots.
Yeah.
It's a product that's very versatile.
And sometimes is what's needed.
Like, I needed one super bad for my 510 build.
Right.
I got one, life changing.
Yeah, no, it is.
Yeah.
It's surprising, like, how many, how many, like, sales we get from that thing?
Yeah.
Like, I wouldn't be surprised if it was, like, one of our best selling things.
Yeah.
No one else makes a product like that.
That's what I'm saying.
My least favorite product would probably be, and this is just because I don't need to use it is probably like the grid line.
You know, I don't need to control my fans, you know, like that stuff is something, something like A&R, with, you know, audio noise reduction, blah, blah, blah.
Something that's like, if it was something that I feel was a huge issue for some people, then they would just kind of use less fans, you know, turn the RPM down in your, in your bios, you know, something like that.
But for me, like, that whole, like, cooling thing, it's just like, if your computer needs to be, you know, you know, it's just like, if your computer needs to be, you know, you know,
to be cool that's such a high rate that it's really loud then you're doing something
wrong you know like I'm sorry adaptive noise reduction sorry Jeff jeff jeff's the cam product
manager yeah so he'd say anything wrong about cam I know I was around when A&R first started
and I still got it wrong my bad I I made a video once with A&R where like I was
talking from home and I was like literally like looking at the the cam windows before 4.0 and I was like
What if I hit my case?
And I'm like,
what if I yelled?
And I said,
so I literally send a video of Ivan and to Ivan where it was just me pointing it
at my screen at Cam like zero dbs.
And they go,
ha, ha, ha, ha.
And it goes up.
And it quiet.
And then again, ha, ha.
I'm like, hey, I found it to use for adapt to noise reduction.
I mean,
the cool thing about the grid is having that mic in there.
Yeah.
But it's just like, I remember when we were first product testing it.
Yeah.
It was just like, you know, I tapped a case and you see it.
like shoot up and I was like oh my god did I do I do something wrong yeah and then like one time like a
USB wire kind of was hitting my my cry rig fan and I see the thing shoot up he is like I was like dude
what is going on see but like if we didn't have the adaptive noise reduction yeah that I'd have no idea
you're capable of hitting your fan so obviously it's good for something yeah um okay if nzxte can
make any product doesn't it doesn't have to be computers what would you like to see us take a crack at
definitely like to see us take a crack at probably uh and why is it sneakers
why is it a baseball bat no no i'd probably honestly want to see us do something um
damn you know it's hard to think about let me sec here i know dom's ignored me too thanks dom one
dom and uh and iq i know they're here they're here but they're not here yeah you know what dude you know
what's like popular.
Yes, I do.
Okay, yes, of course.
We should take a crack at
and making like towels.
Beach towels,
bathroom towels,
freaking hand towels,
you know what I mean?
Like wash cloths.
Dude,
people use that every day.
People use towels every day, dude.
We should just make water then.
You should make water.
Yeah,
people drink water every day.
You use it for cooking.
You see on your car.
A sire.
No.
People like a sigh.
Towers were sweaty gamers.
Or if we can make our own snacks, dude.
Purple says,
Dan, tell them about your McDonald's champions meal.
Okay, so it's actually funny story to this.
I was on stream and I was playing a game.
He was like, hey, I want to order for McDonald's, what should it get?
I'm like, oh, like you shouldn't make a McDank.
He's like, what's that?
I'm like a McDank.
People call it other things, but I always know it as McDank.
And what you do is you order a McDouble, right?
So as, you know, the bread, the two meats and the other bread,
two meats, cheese, and the other bread.
And you order McChicken.
And then you take your McDouble sandwich,
You split it right open between the two meats or the cheeses.
You take the whole McChicken, bread and everything.
The whole thing.
Put it in there and put it back together.
So you literally got you got bread.
You got beef patty, right?
Then you got more bread.
Then he got the chicken patty.
Then you got more bread.
Then you got more meat and cheese.
And then you got more bread.
And you squish that sucker together.
Take a bite.
And I'm like, you're not going to feel good after you eat it.
But you're going to love as you're eating it.
Yeah.
And he literally is like, dude, this is amazing, but I feel so terrible.
Yeah, yeah.
And I'm pretty sure he did it again the next day.
Yeah.
Had to have it again.
Grossest thing I did was put two Big Macs together.
That was a journey.
That sounds so gross.
I didn't, yeah, I didn't feel good for like a couple days.
It's a lot of bread.
Yeah, because I love McDonald's and I love Big Macs.
And I was just like, you know, they had like two for five, two for four.
I'm just like, yeah, why not?
Yeah, try it.
What's the, like, the, like, really popular burger place?
place up there in the East Coast.
In the East Coast?
Yeah. White Castle?
Yeah, White Castle is one, but like, it's not like there's going to be a line.
You know what I mean?
That's where you go like two in the morning.
Yeah, exactly.
Like Shake Shack is here now, but that's probably like in and out equivalent of New York.
Shake Shack or in and out?
Me, dude.
Sorry, man.
Shake is way better than you.
Shake shack is way better than in now.
I don't know if you're apologizing to me.
I don't know if you're like in and out, dude.
I like five guys more.
I think five guys is best.
I am.
I have five guys
guys better at In and Out.
It's stupid expensive.
But for some reason, I think he's like,
they cares a little about the presentation.
It's like,
here it is wrapped in freaking foil in a paper bag.
Like,
go eat it.
Like something about it.
Like,
they pay more attention to the actual food than like what it looks like.
And like in and out is a lot of presentation.
You know,
it's better than McDonald's.
For sure.
It is.
It is better than when.
They're not even the same league though.
You can't put McDonald's.
In and now it's better than any like fast food chain.
Right.
big chain, but it's not better than shake shack,
like it's not better than the chains that are liking it out.
Yeah.
Okay, Frosty, I have a bond to pick with you.
McDonald's fries are good, like 1% of the time.
The rest of the time, they're either too salty or they're cold or they're
greasy and floppy.
Like, it's very rare to get like a decent, like decently made, perfectly made McDonald's
fries.
Yeah.
If they're not like super fresh, then they're like, oh, they're gross.
They last like two seconds in that they're not good.
And it's same thing with in and out fries.
In and out fries do not last very long.
If you don't eat them right away, they're trash.
In my experience, I think fries that last longer are the ones that are more thick cut.
Yeah.
What do you think about people who've never eaten French fries like Andy?
Oh, I don't understand how you can never.
Yeah, no, I know the story.
I don't understand how Andy has never had fries before.
Yeah.
He's like, oh, Andy, how long did you work at in and out?
Like four or five years?
Yeah.
Cool.
Do you like the fries?
Never had them.
Yeah.
Have you the burgers?
Yeah.
Yeah.
The burgers are pretty good.
Never had the fries.
Nope.
I never had a chance.
Yes.
Andy has never had fries
Frodo
Frodo
What's your opinion of Andy
You talk to him a lot
You know what
Andy is a cool dude
He's very down to earth
The fact that
He wears
Baseball teams
Or merch from
Every single baseball team
He's a fan of the game
Yeah
It just
It tilts me dude
It tilts me man
I'm a fan of the game
That's why I refuse to talk
Anything about sports
With that guy
I don't even care
What he says
He's just wrong
Dodger shirt
With the Angel hat
Or it's like
We went to the Angels Yankees game like me him and Wes.
He was wearing a Padre's shirt.
He was actually wearing Angel stuff.
I'm like, why do you even have that?
So, Shohay's the best, dude.
He's one of the only people to do what he's doing.
His whole thing about how wins don't matter.
Yes.
For pitchers,
literally like the only thing that matters is winning.
There he is.
That's the guy right there.
That's your boy, Andy.
Make sure you guys follow him and Mr.
Sly guy in the sky on Twitch and Mixer.
Yes, a Twitch ad mixer.
Twitch and Mixer.
The only mixer. That's where Shroud is now.
Yeah.
You know what, dude?
Honestly, Andy's a really cool dude.
He's awesome, yeah.
He's also, but he's also trolling us.
There's no way that guy's not in character.
Yeah, I feel like Andy has an all,
this alternate work personality.
Andy Kaufman.
Yeah.
I'm telling you, dude, like Andy goes home and he's just like this totally different
guy.
He's like scamming on girls all over.
You know, like he's out of the clubs.
Like, oh, what's up, ladies?
Yeah.
You ready to hang out with the boy.
His name isn't even Andy.
It's like something else.
And Andy only likes to sit crisscross applesauce.
Chris cross applesauce.
Well, so when Andy first started working here, he sat right next to me.
Yeah.
And his first day at work, first thing says to me when he comes in the morning.
So, hey, man, just so you know, I sit really stupid.
And I was like, what?
And he says, yeah, I sit like a moron.
And I said, okay.
And then sure enough, yeah, he sits only crisscross applesau.
Yeah, dude.
We'll be in meetings in this room.
and he's like, crisscross, like, with his iPad pro.
And, like, when you go to lunch with him, he'll order, like, two jugs of water.
Like, before the meal, he just ordered a bunch of water.
I think he told me he was kicked out of a restaurant one time because he drank too much water.
Or he's drawing.
That's just all he does in meetings now.
Yeah.
I think Andy just loves to draw.
But I think, honestly, the best thing about Andy is that you'll walk with him to Starbucks.
before you even get to the street,
he's done with his drink already.
Yeah, yeah.
And he eats like a Jersey Mike sub,
which for a normal person,
it's nuts.
He eats it at four bites, dude.
I'm like, what is wrong with you?
He's like, I just enjoy it differently than you.
And I'm like, were you starved as a kid?
Like, you know?
Yeah, no, it's four bites.
Not kidding.
Yeah, like, I've had times
where like Andy's order is taking forever to eat
and like, I'll get too hungry
and I'll start eating before him.
And like,
by the time he sits down and like I look over like two seconds and look back the sandwich is gone
like what yeah what did you do with it yeah I feel like you two guys eat with any of the most
yeah yeah yeah yeah we do it's like I've never actually been to a place though with Andy where you
sit down and like order like a plate of food yeah I'm pretty sure he'd finish that super fast too
but it's actually interesting I never thought about like what he would do like at a regular sit down
yeah course course meal restaurant you want to go to olive garden today I want to see this
The second row city, dude
See how fast he eats an entire pizza
Well, he'll eat all those breadsticks for his meal for sure
Yeah, dude
That beria pizza
You're disgusting Andy
Dude, the more I think about it
Like the more I want it
Let's go
See look
Really, you didn't notice anything strange
I haven't been to
I've been to sit down with you, have I?
I don't know, man
I can't think about that, yeah
Yeah, I mean
Oh, no, he's right, yeah, he's right
Actually, when we went to Canada
That was a little more recent than Christmas party
Yeah, all right, Andy
I'm just trying to think here, okay?
You act like you still didn't eat fast.
You can't go to a sit-down dinner with Andy
because he doesn't sit down.
Andy's house doesn't have a trash can for food.
Just throw any leftovers in this way.
This is going to go a very, very dark path.
Andy's podcast part too.
Andy's...
We have to roast him every podcast.
Like tradition.
Yeah, we can't not talk about him
just because he's such a character.
He has to be here all the time.
Yeah, yeah.
All right.
So do you have any parting words for the, for the community before we go ahead and cut this out?
You know, I do.
Don't get into sneakers.
It is a long, dark path that you don't want to be on.

Yeah, buy USB hubs and just continue supporting NST, man.
We make it easy for you.
