Today is a very special episode because we have a very special guest who is the recent winner of our sticker art contest, Nibbler, aka Helen Penn?

Yes. I don't know if there was like an accenting mark on that and screw that up. Helen ZXT. Helen ZXT. A.k.a.a. The real Helen. Not like the Helen we already have. Uh-oh. We have, yeah, we have a Helen here. Wait, I saw her name in the Discord.

Yeah, and she's on the creative team. So when we told her, hey, guess what? The person who won the theater contest, her name is Helen. And we kind of suspected that it was her. We're like, what if it's like her all? It's like entering those contest trying to like, secretly. Yeah, spam us or whatever.

But yeah, thank you so much for not only being here, but for designing not just one, but like three awesome designs. Yeah, really good. They're all beautiful. Thank you. Like they were all like in the top, like voted. It was amazing and- It's kind of no contest too.

As soon as the sticker was put out there, it was like the number six going in and like, I'm like, I think this one's going to win. Even before the voting started when we saw them, we were just like, dang, like, these better win because they're so good. And thankfully they won, and it just turned out that you live really close to us. So we're like, why not just bring her in here and have her on the podcast and then give her her prize in person and, you know, hang out. You have a little tour and just, you know, show you around the office and whatnot. Introduce you some people, except Helen.

We don't want you to meet Helen. Oh, man. Unless. I've never seen both Helen. in the same place at the same time, so maybe it's still our Helen. Yeah. Should we give her her prize now? Yeah, why not?

The reason why they're not ready yet is because I actually wanted to make sure we got the clear ones. I didn't want to make them, you know, with like the regular background because the way it was designed, it was just like, you know.

And that's basically. Thank you so much. Oh, my God. And no. Actually, and there is another thing I got you, but I secretly got it for me. Oh. And I don't know if you're actually going to do this or can do this. But as you know, we just moved into this office, right?

And we're in the process of redecorating it. And last week, Johnny told me you need to put some stuff on this wall because it's like really boring. So give her some bread. Alan says give her some bread. I got you some markers so you can draw something on this wall. I actually needed markers. But you have to draw something for us on this wall before you leave. Okay.

Can't leave without drawing something. It's permanent sharpie marker guys. It's okay. We can always. You can use this whole thing. So draw whatever you want on this as big as you want. And it'll live there forever. So now every time someone, every time anyone comes on the podcast, they'll see Nobler's art on that wall.

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yep. So pretty cool. How are you feeling right now? I'm nervous, not really. I'm like super excited still. Like I couldn't even like sleep.

Yeah. Because I was excited. Yeah. What did you think when like a message you? Hey, do you want to be on the podcast? Like what was your first thought? I wanted to. Who are you?

No, no. Because like I was in. I was in class. Actually, when Dan, like, messaged me about it. And then I was like, oh, my God. Like, I wanted to, like, tell all the other people in my class, but then, like, it's class. But, like, yeah. She got detention.

No. It's worth it. Wait, shouldn't you be in class right now? Uh-oh. Are you taking the day off from class to be here? No, it's like, it's like a, I guess it's like a free class. Like, uh, like no one was doing anything. Like, like, everybody's on their phone and stuff.

If phones existed when I was in high school, I probably would not have graduated. Seriously. That's really sad. I almost didn't graduate. Like I was walking and my parents were looking at the program with all the names and my name wasn't on there. So they thought I was going to walk up and be like, oh, who are you? Why are you here? Yeah, yeah.

I almost didn't make it. So Helen, tell us, you don't have to tell the city, but how far do you live from headquarters here? I live 20 minutes away according to the map I got. And we both got stuck in the train track today. Yep. Yeah. I live like five minutes away and it took me like 30 minutes to get here. Very unfortunate.

But you made it right on time. Yeah. We started everything on time. It was actually funny because when we snooped on you, because like you had your stuff on your profile, I was like, Ivan, she lives like super close. Like she lives like where her freaking Andy lives. Oh, yeah.

You guys live in the same city. So it was like. First Andy mentioned of the cast, by the way. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. You live in the same city as. Andy. Do you know who Andy is?

No. You don't want to know who you is. Let's keep it that way. You'll purposefully make it so that you never actually cross paths with Andy. You'll just know him as like a person who supposedly exists. How old are you? I just turned 18 this October. Hey, I'm on October, baby.

bull with big horns right i honestly don't know um no do what that is either if only there was a machine that you can ask a question to and it's a big action yeah yeah yeah If it was also recording a podcast on that same machine, whatever. I'm pretty sure it's just a giant bull with horns. But I believe that's also the same school that Andy went to. That's the second Andy mention of the day. Maybe if Andy was listening to the podcast, he'd respond and he says he's listening, but I don't actually see him typing in the chat.

Good. We'll see. So here's a good question. What's your GPA? What are your grades? Are you good student? Sure. Right now, like I have like all A's except for my English class.

A plus in that one. No. It's be funny. She's like, I have all A's except for art. I'm failing that. I like my worst class in art. That probably has happened before. Are you in an art class?

Yeah. Are you like one of the best students in there? I wouldn't say so, no. No. She's saying there are others. And how come they're not? in here. You're right.

Interesting. What art class is it? It's just like regular fine art. Okay. So it's like drawing or like? So you do all types of art? So far it's just fine art and like computer graphics. And how did you do the sticker art?

I did it on Adobe Illustrator. Take notes, guys. Yeah, but yeah, I did it on Adobe Illustrator, and I did not know how to use it until I was in the program at school. And then I usually thought that it was completely hard to use, but I learned more from the class. And, yeah, I kept practicing, and that's how I got. I don't know. Got good. Yeah, it got good.

I didn't want to say that, but. Your art is amazing. I love it. And you definitely have, like, your own style. I just dropped a link to your Instagram so people can check it out. It's really, really beautiful. It's really, really good. Your, your, your Instagram and, like, your actual page, your behalf.

Some really cool stuff on there. I was like, Dan, like, she's really really good at what she does. I was really surprised. Not to say, like, you know. I used to be bad, though. I mean, everyone is. Everyone's bad at everything they're good at, you know. You got to put in that work.

And you definitely did. And you can tell, like, you're definitely. It gives 100,000 hours in it Is this the Bromable? No, it's a cow. Oh, sorry. On the Instagram or on the bands. On her Instagram?

Yeah, no. No, it's definitely really cute. Like, it's one of those things are like, you can just kind of tell that someone has like a style, right? And like that they've been working on their art for a long time. How long have you been drawing? Drawing? That's a different story.

But I guess little. I don't know, like kindergarten, I guess. I don't know. But, like, computer part, that was probably my sophomore year. Oh. Yeah. Do you want to, like, work in the art industry when you graduate from? Yes.

Do you want to go to college? Yes. Do you know where you're going to go yet or now? No. But, like, I do want to go to art center at Pasadena. That's where our industrial designer went. He went to the art center there. Yeah.

Yeah. It's actually funny. Why? Well, it's a really great school, actually. Yeah, it is. And Johnny went there, too, I think, for, like, little bit. But what's funny is Shin just got a new car.

And he's like, hey man, come check out my car. And I was checking out his car. It's a cool car. And then I asked him, why'd you buy this car? And he said, because the guy who designed it went to Arts Center. Oh. So it's definitely a good school. And good luck.

I hope you get in there and do some cool stuff. And who knows, maybe when you're done with school, you can come work here. Or just don't finish school. working here anyway. It's like half the people here didn't finish school from it seems like every time I asked me a podcast. Like yeah, I went for a little bit. No, but definitely go to school. I think especially if you're going to be doing art because like art is something that's kind of like, I mean, you can learn it yourself and I know people who like do really great art and they know they do

stuff for like, you know, Twitch or whatever and and you know, they have their own their own thing. But there's something you can definitely learn from school from our perspective. It's like a very like structured way, you know, that like you wouldn't know unless like, you know, you just, you talk to someone who knew a lot of stuff like that. So I think it could definitely help. And in my opinion, you should be a student your whole life. It's not just like, oh, I graduate and then I'm done learning. It's like you're going to be learning your whole life, right? And but the thing with school, though, if you can go and do it, you should definitely take advantage of it. Because it's a once in a lifetime thing, right? Like you're only going to be

this age once. You're really going to have this shot once. So I, I'm the opposite. I think you should do it and, you know, hopefully learn more than if you didn't do it. That's the plan, right? How did you get into the server? How? Yeah. I was actually following the NZXT Twitter account.

I'm sorry. Oh, no. But it was like, I think it was someone else that was posted and like NZXT retweeted. it was just the stickers only i was like oh you should join this uh club thing you could get free stickers i was like i want stickers that's how we get them that's cool and then so you just join for the stickers and then um no i was well i guess because i didn't i didn't know anything on the discord server i think i joined in january so why were you following nzxte on twitter I was following them on Twitter

I mean Twitter and Instagram I like your stuff guys yeah yeah very minimal I really you could actually tell about yeah what do you think about the NZT Twitter it's good

yeah yes I kind of you can be honest yeah we why that's great that's good I don't I think it sucks I just think it's uh it's always interesting to me when I meet people that tell me like oh I follow Instagram

Twitter and I like it or I because like I never really know who's on the other end of the dumb stuff are between that's why it's fun

it's like meme yeah and then we meet people that tell us they like it it's always cool because it's like oh it's working like we're not we're not that dumb after all

Dennis yeah I mean like that's got the whole idea between the whole idea behind our Twitter just to kind of have fun with it you know and just see what we can do and like what kind of

memes you can we can put out there speaking to memes we have a nibbler meme already oh yeah all right shiny yeah so end dog has posted this is a great like a shot of Indiana Jones grabbing I love that remember what that is in the movie but it's like trying to grab that sticker that that that that nibble sticker yes I want it too so nibbler what's what's what's what's what's with your name nibbleer okay so if you scroll down all the way down to my Instagram you could probably see like one of my like clients they wanted a logo and their thing is called nibi niby I forgot what it was called it was a long time ago but like their their dog's name was actually nibler I was like oh that's so cute that is a cute name yeah that's the thing I really liked about um about your sticker designs

was the name nibler I was like that's just like a cool name I want to make and I want to make some emotes like some nibble emotes just like a really cute name I like it yeah She's going to be a picture in the server for now. You can't ever leave just so you know. You have to be in the server forever now. All right. Yeah, you're going to be a lifer. Unless.

Unless, yeah. So, like, when did you, like, decide that you wanted to start doing art? Like, at what point did you go from, like, just drawing as a kid to being like this something that I actually kind of want to start studying and start going to pursuing? It was actually that class. If I wasn't in that class in sophomore year, the computer graphics class, I probably wouldn't do this because, like, I don't know anything about Adobe. like honestly until I got into that class but like yeah taught a lot of stuff but like why why in particular like digital art like why when I do like drawings or painting like what what draws you to that as opposed to

do I think it's just more cleaner like it's not saying easier I guess it's like the same level as it's hard but like yeah I just like the style and digital more what kind of equipment to use to draw I just use mouse Use your mouse Yeah No no I don't like draw it physically Or like whatever it's illustrator

So like it's basically just shapes And not like What kind of computer? What kind of computer is? I use a Mac actually Yeah Why on NZXTPC? I'm broke

She's looking like baby Yoda wearing AirPods. She's an Apple Watch on too. You can't tell. That's really cool though. So let's see you go on here. How did you go to computers? Are you like a big computer person or just? No, I'm actually not.

Okay, interesting. That's actually more interesting to me than if you were in the computers. So what is it about the NXT club that you like since we were kind of very computer and computer gaming centric? Like what I like. liked about it. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I liked how simple it was. I like NZXT because of that. And I joined because of the community. Very nice. Yes. Who's your favorite community member? Redacted. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Do you play video games? Uh, yeah. I actually do. I only play league because like,

that's like the minimum requirement, you know? Do you play your Mac? Uh, sometimes, yeah. How does it, How did it run? Pretty bad. Not going to lie, obviously. I've played League of Legends on a Mac. It wasn't that bad. But I don't know how to play that game. I've seen people get to like Diamond just using their mouse track pad or whatever it's called.

Without using a mouse. Yeah. Some people play some really janky setups and like they do still really well. Yeah. But goes to show you don't need a beast computer guy. So if you suck, you have an amazing computer. I was, I went to a Christmas parade last weekend. And the kids sitting next to me,

the entire time was playing Fortnite on his phone. And like this kid was like getting headshots and stuff. I'm like how the heck are like. But I think that's just kind of like how people are learning how to play now. It's not as hard as like if a boomer like me kind of picked up a phone and try to play. Like I couldn't do it. But I think it's no big deal. If you can figure out how to do it, why not, right?

Right. Cheaper. I mean like, well, also like, you know, you got to use what you got. I mean, like I can't afford a computer. computer can't you can't up for a computer so you don't mean if you probably have as a phone or tablet like what else you're gonna play right cards uno yeah i got it's chess chess is a good game yeah i never play chess once and it really shows i've i've i've always wanted to but like like no one never wanted to set down like teach me to play i'm over here playing chess

then it's playing checkers wait i learned it like probably like last week on the weekend really just like on the app like um it didn't teach me i didn't read the instructions or whatever like but like It shows which direction you could go. I was like played it over and over again because like I kept losing obviously. And then like, yeah, learned it somewhat. I'm not good. Nice. I'm going to bring a chessboard in here now to teach tennis how to play chess.

Can we have a purple chess piece? Really? What's it called? No, I said can we? Oh. I think we can. We have to make it though probably. Yeah, just just grab it as bring it over and we have some purple markers.

We'll just wrap it in purple. So what did you think of the sticker contest? Was it fun or? I put time into it. I think it was really cool because that's a cool interaction to have with like community members and the Discord. Like usually servers don't really do that. It's just like talking or whatever. But like yeah, the server is like really different.

Yeah. What do you think we could have done better with the sticker contest? You see like you already know there's like a negative side to it because like people don't scroll all the way out. Yes, that's one for sure. That's one thing. But like I feel like that's going to be how it is. Like how would you lay out that? Yeah.

The only other way I could think of is hosting the art like on a website and then we send people there. But we didn't really want to send people outside of the server to vote or to view. So yeah, I think the scrolling thing. thing is just something we might have to figure out some other way to do yeah or maybe we should have like people send us their art and then we pick like five and they have them vote on that you know so there's not just so many to vote on we can do that way too yeah i mean we have people who submitted like six seven eight nine of them and like you know some of them weren't and a lot of them part doesn't matter because nilspli going to win all of them yeah oh wait why don't you just like

remove me from like the next one or something because you're the reigning champion yeah you have to Defend your crown. Defend your crown. Yeah. That'd be funny if like... We made a belt. No, like we keep doing these and then like Nibbler just always wins. Yeah.

Like there's like no competition. And then nobody enters because they... Or like a challenger comes through and they're like, hey, I want to dethrone this Nibler person for that crown. I want to be on the NXXT podcast next time and get a bag and a poochie and stickers and another lanyard and a patch and a purple bag. I'm like looking right now I'm like looking right now to say what else is there what other type of art contest you think we could possibly do

I don't know I have some ideas can I run in by you yeah and I guess the people listen right now so I was thinking maybe for the next one it would be cool if we had a contest to design logos for all the different roles

oh that's cute that'd be a cool one right so you can have like you know like a series And then another one could be designing something for the boosters. Those are basically all my billing ideas. You mean the homies? The homies, yeah.

Yeah, the homies, just for homies. Maybe even designing a banner for the server. You know, that banner that goes on top. Oh. You can have a contest for that. I thought that was just like automated or whatever. No, we, there's a setting we can, we can upload whatever you want up there. is it right now yeah I don't think I can do it on my mobile phone but does that by any

even show mobile I don't yeah yeah it's funny it's like it's one of the things you just don't really notice too often right like it's just there so like I noticed it everyday Dennis I don't I notice myself typing and not saying anything that's what the greatest present there bro I think it's the greatest things that I've ever done because like I noticed that whenever I start typing I want to say anything five people like oh dense typing dense typing dense typing so I'm like shut up like let me talk so I was like What if I just for like two days, didn't say anything, but just hopped on and typed for like 10, 20 minutes.

And annoyed. I haven't noticed. Like for the last few days, I just heard, I'm like tapping at his keyboard. I'm like, bro, just hit enter already. And yesterday morning, I woke up really early. I woke about five in the morning. And I go on the server. And the first thing I see people talking is like, hey, does anybody know of Dennis talk yet?

Are you serious? Is that what you guys are preoccupied with is Dennis? That should be a Twitter account. Status. It was an experiment and it worked. I mean, it got the community riled up and like you leave for like an hour, you come back and I'm like, he's typing again. Just say something. Just say something. So, you know, it worked.

It definitely achieved the goal that it had, which is just to annoy people. It definitely annoyed me. Well, thank you. I've been actually like snuck by my desk and slapped the inner button once. I had to quickly delete it. I think one of two people saw it. But how do you get into video games in the first place? Um, uh, I actually don't know about, wait, no, I guess my friend told me about it.

Yeah. Hey, there's this cool thing called video games. You should check it out, bro. Oh, I meant like, no, I don't want to get addicted. Yeah. But like, it's like everywhere, so like there's no way to avoid it. Yeah. Yeah, they are everywhere now.

It's crazy. You can't really go anywhere without seeing video games, right? It's on TV. It's on the news, you know, some kid won some tournament or something. And you got like a Walmart. It's like a gamer zone, right? They have like all these keyboards and mice and all these RGP things and switches and whatnot. Helen's wearing ninja shoes right now.

Yes, she is. All right. Gamer shoes. Puma gamer socks. Indoor only for better grip. Yeah, those are, I don't know what's up with that. Like what possibly could a sock do to enhance your gaming experience? When your feet get cold? It can make.

Put on regular socks. Yeah, I guess it depends what game you play. What do you play like dance, dance revolution? Yeah, but you go to their. for that and if you take your shoes off you're kind of gross. It's true. Like why the heck would you go to like an arcade bare foot touch on those those panels there?

Yeah, it's super gross. So you can wear your gamer socks and show them off. You slip off your ninja shoes from Adidas and into your gamer socks and start DDRing. I used to play DDR and I was a kid. He used to play a lot of it. Like I was one of his kids like would just walk over to the arcade and I would just have like a handful of quarters and just play DDR for like hours. are calling you D-D Dennis. That's good.

and he started working with NST like a while back until recently. He's like in more of like an advisory role now. But he has this story where he was in Vegas doing some stuff with NST. And he met like this like, skinny dude and he's like oh hey jared what's up and the guy's talking like he knows him there's no deal who this guy is and he goes a party like hours later and the guy's still there talking to him and he's like i have no idea who the heck this guy is and his buddy walks up to him he's oh hey i didn't know you know him he's like i don't know who that guy is he like dude

i met him i met him once and i got really really close to him and i did see him through the the mask i couldn't tell who it was was he smiling or is he sad he's actually really really nice he's um he seems like a cool dude yeah he was just Super cool. Dang. Yeah. I don't know who he is, but I did. I could tell there was definitely a human being in there.
