Starting point is 00:01:36 NZXT Club cast episode 25 The official podcast of the NZXD community This podcast is recorded live Every Thursday at 10 a.m. Pacific Center time of the official NZXT Discord server
Starting point is 00:01:47 And is available to stream Wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts. My name is Dennis and as always We have Ivan. Happy Thursday, everyone. It's Thursday, my dudes. Also known as Friday, Jr.
Starting point is 00:02:05 So we were going to have Amanda the podcast, but unfortunately she had to be pulled away for a very super secret special meeting. A helicopter came by and picked her up, so we had to reschedule with her, but she'll be on soon. Yeah. So sorry about that. So we have to change the podcast kind of last minute, but it's all right. We'll make it work. Yeah. Whatever questions you have for her will just answer in her voice. Hi guys, this is Amanda. Hey Amanda. How are you doing? I'm really excited to be on the podcast today. I can't wait to talk about all the stuff that I do at NST. So tell me more about NCX team Amanda. NZX team is a our brand new affiliate program where we have amazing streamers
Starting point is 00:02:48 who uphold the core values of the NZX team. Actually you know what we should do instead of doing a podcast we should just play this music on a loop for an hour. It's pretty it's pretty legit. It's actually really nice. It's a really good mix. We just, that's fun. Oh, look, you got some horns. Oh, ooh. Mmm. Mmm. We have so many mixes of this. You have no idea.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Doot, do. Oh, it drops again. Dude. I could, I could seriously, like, I could jam to this all day. Play this on a loop all day. Pretty legit. It's really good. What's the name of this mix?
Starting point is 00:03:30 It's just called We Shop Theme Jazz Cover. It's on our SoundCloud. We have it liked. So if you guys want to do it. those two, some of the remixes we have, just check out our SoundCloud page, and we'll link it to you. But I'm not a rapper.
Starting point is 00:03:44 But I'm not a rapper, boom, bap, bap, bap. I'm not a rapper, though. So, yeah, so I meant I was going to talk about the NX team. I think we should wait for her to talk about it because I don't want to, I want to do any disservice. It's her baby. It's her project.
Starting point is 00:03:58 And I want to take it away from her. Yeah, we'll let her take it away. We'll let her talk about that. Yeah. So we're just hanging out with you guys and chilling, you know having a having a freestyle podcast
Starting point is 00:04:07 drop me a Hot 16 Ivan I bomb atomically Socrates philosophies and hypotheses Oh there we go Nice nice
Starting point is 00:04:17 It's this one You just pay some What are you doing It's some animal crassing remix This is a lot of these things But yeah How you been Ivan How's everything?
Starting point is 00:04:32 Good You know had not a rough day yesterday but yeah yeah we made a lot of people angry and it was not our intent but it happened right I do feel bad for for making people upset even though you know we didn't really mean anything
Starting point is 00:04:51 bad for what we were trying to say in that joke on Twitter but but what matters is that people were hurt yeah it had to acknowledge that right like if one person's upset as too many right and you know we've made the same joke I mean, I can't even count the amount of times you made the same jokes. Everywhere. But yeah, I can totally see how it could be taken
Starting point is 00:05:11 completely out of context. Yeah, 100% understandable. And it was and, you know, spiraled out of control. A lot of people were upset. Yeah. And some people weren't upset. Some people were upset.
Starting point is 00:05:19 The other people were upset. Yeah. I mean, there's definitely more people, I think, that got the joke. But there's also, you know, a lot of people that didn't. And there were prominent people who got angry at it.
Starting point is 00:05:29 And then that spurred other people to get angry at it. And you're like, okay. Because like, here's the thing, right? It's like you make any kind of public statement, anything, right? And people are going to be bad no matter what, right? So you have to be like, okay, at what point do you know when it's like, you know, some just random internet patrol trying to be angered for no reason?
Starting point is 00:05:49 And then like, okay, this is legitimately something that people are concerned about. And then we now have to address it. Yeah, there were definitely some people, I think, who were just trolling because they can. Oh, yeah. Because, but there are also a lot of people who weren't and we were serious. So that's marginalized and they felt bad about it. Yeah. And obviously, you know, we want to make sure that no one, no one feels bad, right?
Starting point is 00:06:08 Yeah. That no one legitimately feels bad. It's a good way to say it, right? Yeah. But when when you first sent me the draft for that tweet, I was laughing. Yeah, me too. For us, it's like, that's the stuff we joke about all the time, you know, on the Discord server and on social and everything. But, and recently, you know, for Christmas, we did Poochee's Noddy and Nice list.
Starting point is 00:06:30 And literally all those things were on that naughty list. Yeah. Right. But we worded it completely different this time. So that's the issue. That's the important part too. Like remember take from it. So yeah, that's pretty much it. I don't want to say I felt, you know, like depressed or anything like that. I just felt bad that we did upset people. And we know we apologize. So hopefully if anyone who's upset is listening today, just know that we are sorry. And we do love all gamers. And we really met no harm from what we said. and we're very sorry. And we will be more careful in the future how we say things. Because I guess we kind of overestimated, you know, what, I guess, like, we overestimated, I guess, the power of our influence.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Yeah, we just assumed, okay, everyone's going to get this because we talk about all the time. But, yeah, no, we can't assume that anymore. It's, you know, we don't know who's going to see these, these dumb jokes. Unless. Yeah. Yeah. But anyway, that's pretty much it. I mean, it ain't really much else to say about that.
Starting point is 00:07:33 I mean, you guys have questions about it. Obviously, we'll answer them, but it's probably going to be the same answer. But yeah, yeah, it was funny because Ivan's also been gone for a few days, you know, just had to deal with some, some, some IRL stuff. And then he comes back, oh, man, what a great tweet. And, like, the thing is that, like, it didn't even really, like, get crazy until, like, later in the day. Because, like, we posted at night, it didn't seem like it was that big of a deal.
Starting point is 00:07:54 People seemed to enjoy it. And then all of a sudden, it just. I wasn't even awake when you posted. I went to bed, like, at 7 o'clock that night. And I noticed you were your your entire yeah I can talk about about why I was gone for a couple of days. If you want to yeah yeah you don't have to if you want to no I don't mind it was just a really really interesting way to start the new year like Dennis said some IRL stuff happens and you know part of the reason why I really appreciate the community members who are
Starting point is 00:08:23 you know positive is because we all go through IRL stuff and we need to help each other and support each other. So here's how my 2020 kicked off, right? So I don't even think I told Dennis this. Uh-oh. But on the day after Christmas, my favorite uncle died. Oh, I know that. And so tell me, dude. Well, I mean, you know, it's not that I didn't want to tell you. It's just like, you know, I got, I get, I get it. It's kind of like, you know, it's like why, like, there's no reason for me to tell anyone, right? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:08:51 you know, family stuff. So, um, my mom and my dad during that time, they were in Nashville because my sister just had a, a baby. Shout out to baby Abraham. Hey, baby Abraham. So, nibbler's in chat for baby Abe. They had to fly back the day after Christmas. And then that same day, they had to go to Mexico. So my mom basically didn't sleep like that day. And of course, it was her brother. So she was very, very sad. And so anyways, they go to Mexico. They take care of all the funeral stuff. they fly back and then remember that day about tj and all that yeah so that was that day so that's they went to tjj so they they flew back to tijuana and my mom still you know kind of like
Starting point is 00:09:38 you know hasn't really slept hasn't been eating etc and that goes for like uh you know like a week or two um and two weeks ago my mother-in-law slipped and fell and had to get emergency surgeries right So my wife had to Basically go go to the hospital and take care of her mom and her dad and stuff All her sisters went so I stayed with my daughter for a couple days That's why I didn't come to work got a lot of workouts in right I was a FK from from the server for a long long time Yeah just walking steps chasing my daughter around
Starting point is 00:10:16 Alan wants to know how hard is it being a stay-at-home dad It's actually super hard I don't want to do that ever again I'm kidding But yeah so after you know My, and my wife's mother is still in the hospital. Actually, she's in the rehab facility right now. She's going to be released in a couple days. Nice.
Starting point is 00:10:33 You know, I was all set to come back to work on Monday morning. And literally, as I'm getting into the shower, my sister calls me and then tells me, hey, bro, my mom just fainted and she's in the emergency room. I'm like, oh, great. So then I had to, you know, I took a quick shower. Then I drove to Anaheim, my old hood, where Dennis lives currently. A. Shout us to Anna Crime.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Sorry, I doxed you. But yeah, so then I spent a day at the hospital there. And then my dad was out of town. So I decided to spend the night with my mom. And yes, it took another couple days off homework. So basically, I just spent AFK for like all of 2020. Pretty much. It just kind of, I don't know, it sucks.
Starting point is 00:11:18 But at the same time, you know, I'm very grateful that Dennis is here to help me. And then the community members who are positive here, you know. You guys keep the server going even if I'm not here. So that was that's basically how my new year has been. It's just wow. Just a bunch of like, you know, drama. And then I come back and then this whole tweet thing happens. And I'm like, great.
Starting point is 00:11:38 No, it's like I can't even like really. I have like, it's not that I have a lot of work. I just have like important work that needs to get done. You know, I've been working on this presentation document for like weeks. And I haven't been able to finish it because that's the one of the genica set up for us. Yeah. Like I feel bad because I've been canceling this meeting. and rescheduling it like three weeks in a row
Starting point is 00:11:57 and you know it probably looks like I'm just trying to like duck out of this meeting but it's just like there's just so much going on right now and yeah I'm happy I'm happy that finally back at work and taking care of business Taking care of business Working over time Yeah
Starting point is 00:12:16 It was interesting because like I'm really used to having I've been here like all the time And at the end of every quarter We do these 360 reviews where basically you nominate two to three people to review your performance for the year and then your manager reviews your performance and then you have a meeting about it so i've been so like in one of my things that i put in in my review of myself was that i want to be less dependent on iven you know it's going to be more self-sufficient and kind of just do things right so you know
Starting point is 00:12:46 a little behold behold like the whole like the week after that or the week and after that ivan's gone for two days i'm like well my guess i got to do these things on my own so it was it was interesting kind of like I added Dennis to all my meetings to send for me. And then he messaged me and he's like, I don't know how you get any work done. And I told him, I don't. That's why I hired you. Yeah, that was in a meeting that was like 30 minutes or something. And then I was like, this is still 30 minutes too long.
Starting point is 00:13:09 I mean to be in. And apparently like that meeting in particular goes really long in general. So I was like, and it was awesome like I don't care about. And it seems like I don't know why I need to know. Like, I don't need to know about Canada. All the numbers? Yeah, Canada numbers. Like, I don't live in Canada.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I love in California, dude. Technically, you live in North America. Canada's in North America. I don't think so. Be careful. I can't say that because I'm going to offend Canada people. True. But yeah, you know, just, it's been an interesting couple days.
Starting point is 00:13:42 I feel like today... Did you miss me? I did. No, it's weird being in the office without you because, like, there's a lot of people who, like, I don't want to... want to talk to you in the office. Not that they don't like them, you know,
Starting point is 00:13:53 but it's like, you know, it's like, they talk to me about things that don't help me get my work done, right? Which is fine.
Starting point is 00:13:56 You know, you know, like I don't mind having a conversation in people, but at the same time it's like, there's already so much to do that like, I'm the kind of person that, if you talk to me,
Starting point is 00:14:06 I'm going to talk to you back and we're going to have a whole conversation and then I get nothing done. Right. So like, I already have a really hard time focusing in and like, that's why I try to avoid you. Yeah. Don't talk to you.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Um, yeah, to buckle down and do our work. We'll put our headsets on and we'll play some music and we'll just talk to Slack, even though we're literally right next to each other. The only time I bug them is something that's like really important to like I kind of have to have a good conversation about, but like most things just go through Slack. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:34 This talk. So, you know, it's interesting. For those that don't know, Slack is like Discord for business. Yeah. For Normies. It's business discord. It's basically the team speak. For those you remember that stuff.
Starting point is 00:14:48 It's way easier to use than Discord for sure. I think so too. To be honest, like, Discord has a lot of usability issues, just from like a features standpoint. It's just, well, I guess usability is the word. But yeah, it's like just, you know, even something simple like formatting text, like Slack just, you know, makes it easy. You have a rich text editor. You do the same exact name. It's red built in, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:11 You have to do this weird, what is it, markdown code for Discord to get things done. And like the little window that you type in is way too small. It doesn't expand when you try and. to do like a big post so you got to post somewhere else and make sure it looks good and then and also slack has plugins you don't have to like add bots or anything yeah i get all my my google calendar invites my email all that stuff just goes to slack and don't have to like you know worry about coding bots or anything like that but to be honest i think that um i think the discord like the feature of discord might actually be business applications and stuff like that because like it's it's
Starting point is 00:15:46 really the only thing knows it's it's like with slack you have a login for every separate slack group that you're in so it's not the same yeah so like so like if i'm like you know in the spicy chat you know slack i'm not going to get in trouble and like post something i shouldn't be posting on the work side because it's completely two different accounts it separates everything no slack is good if you just have like one group yeah that you're in but yeah discord for sure like if you're in multiple communities it's way easier to manage that yeah with discord when i was uh like really heavily using slack and i was like in my in my esports freelance days i was in like five slacks and it was a a pain of the butt because you got a login type of
Starting point is 00:16:21 for each one. Yeah. And if you have different emails for different things, like it's not, it's not fun to use. Yeah. Slack is not good for multiple, multiple groups. Discord is like Slack for slackers. Goto.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Is this song playing? Hold on. It's scruffy. We have some of the stuff in the background. Put some more, some more we stuff. But yeah. So, you know, interesting days here at nzxte uh johnny ton hall meeting stream live that'd be cool
Starting point is 00:16:56 actually that'd be kind of dope if you have that um you can't give out our secrets man unless they give them all the information they want what to do with it so you're like prank people just have johnny yelling at everyone this is that stuff you guys post on twitter I love dabd anime um we actually do
Starting point is 00:17:18 we actually do stream the town of hall meeting but it's it's only it's only company wide so when did we come back on the podcast Alan it's been a whole week uh but yeah just just to go back to what iven said to shout out to the moderators too for for holding for holding it down when iven was in my pinta you know just uh doing this thing and except for uh psu guru yeah i'm nervous he's exactly one month away from his podcast appearance oh is he yeah yeah i've been regretting it every every single day money have you thought about adding any songs from game chops albums like mario and show i have no idea what that is that sounds now we're we're sticking with the the we shop yeah i wonder if
Starting point is 00:18:01 you have here this is really good i'm looking at right now we shop vapor wave mix it's really really good it's it's very wavy and it's incredibly relaxing we'll put that for a little bit in the background there we go so yeah i mean uh you know we just uh today we're just hanging out with you guys guys having whatever conversation comes to mind um you guys have any questions please just drop them in the chat yeah you said it for anything coming out anytime soon said skatebird any games yeah yeah i can't mean for doom man doom animal crossing cyberpunk deloid september it's gonna be great i don't think i'm gonna play any of those really yeah doom's so good you have to play doom it's so fun i'll play it but you know it's not like i'm i've played doom so many times like i mean it's the
Starting point is 00:18:46 same game over and over but it's not though Yeah, maybe Animal Crossing. I did Animal Crossing a lot when I had my DS back in the day. Animal Crossing is really great when you, like, you can put a lot of time to it or a little bit of time into it and you still get like some fun stuff out of it. So it's like every other video game. No, because like, you know, like with some games, like if you don't put like a good amount of time, you feel like you don't get anything done. Like I'm crossing, you can go in, grab some fruit, sell it, and then you can just bounce, right? Like, say you're playing Destiny.
Starting point is 00:19:20 If you're not putting in, like, I think, three to four hours per session, you're not really getting anything done because the ground is super long in the game. Yeah, it's crazy long. Can't even anything else like I'm excited about. I haven't really been playing much games lately. I haven't played Monster Hunter. Yeah. It was actually funny because I was excited to have Manda on the podcast because I want to talk about Monster Hunter. She and I have been going through Monster Hunter World on PC, which, by the way, sucks on Mass and Key.
Starting point is 00:19:47 keyboard. It's so much better in control. I do like Monster Hunter. Not according to Twitter. Yeah. Twitter doesn't get real angry for me, for me saying that. And like,
Starting point is 00:19:59 I don't know, do you like Capcom, I love Capcom. They're like in my heart because Capcom has, have a weird track record. They've upset me too many times. I know, but I can't stop buying
Starting point is 00:20:12 their stupid games. Oh yeah, their games like exactly. I'll buy every copy. Let me love you. I think that the last time they made me mad was when they canceled puzzle fighter on mobile. That's a good game. That didn't last very long.
Starting point is 00:20:25 It was up for a couple months. And then it died. It's so fun, yeah. It's like, Monster Hunter is a good game and then delayed it on PC for like a year. And then the game's kind of buggy and there's issues with like connections. And like when it runs fine, it's fine. But the problem with a game like Monster Hunter is that when like one little like step to the side, can mean either you getting like completely obliterated but like a giant dragon or like surviving
Starting point is 00:20:53 and getting the kill it's really annoying. Wasn't it wasn't Monster Hunter the like one of the most like top rated games of last year? It was and then they released his ice sport update like last week or this week or something like that this is new update to the game on PC and that and that was delayed too. I think it was out in August on on PS4 and like consoles and they delayed it until like this month and then their approval rating on. team went from like 99 or something that's like 30% because there's so many bugs and people were having issues with it. Actually the game runs better now for me. Yeah. But yeah people
Starting point is 00:21:28 were big mad and I think like if you're if you're going to delay a game like you know make it right. Yeah Ellen's right. Monster Nerd has some really really really cool displays like just displays are sick. When I went to E3 to help Wes and Andy out with our booth there, we were like right next to the Monster Hunter booth looks super cool. With who, Andy? Yeah, Andy and Wes. Because I was helping them with the booth we had at E3. We had a tiny little booth showing off in a couple cases.
Starting point is 00:21:56 This is before we had the lead out. Oh, yeah, I remember. That's when we had the meetup. Yeah, I think we had just announced slash just launched the 710 or the refresh, I believe. That was the first time we met Mike in real life. Yeah. It was funny because I didn't know what Mike really looked like. and when I parked I was going to the what do you call it the what's that area called
Starting point is 00:22:23 probably no no no like no like to know like by the by the convention center like with all the food and stuff a street you don't talk about you're so messing with me it's where either parking lot or a street I don't know where else you park it says like it's like that whole shopping center oh LA Live LA Live thank you it wasn't say Garder Walk but it's not it at all Jesus Christ parking district you can kill me parking The Parking district. I see some guy walking and he's like looking all confused. And I had no idea who he was or who he might have been.
Starting point is 00:22:54 But I just assumed it was Mike. And I'm like, hey, Mike, he's like, yeah. N-16 Dennis. Like, yeah. And then we went to go meet you for the meetup. So it was actually pretty. He looked like a lost old man. It's funny.
Starting point is 00:23:06 I miss Mike. I know. It'd be cool if we, if we would have timed his visit last. Was it last week or Luke before? It was last week. To have him on the podcast too. been fun he came when he come he come on a Friday or a Wednesday I think he came on a Wednesday yeah it was a that's when um when my mother-in-law had the surgery right
Starting point is 00:23:28 yeah that day yeah that's what you're out yeah that's uh it was nice so we went to uh rose city pizza and got some alpastor pizza and uh we got the alpast store and then we get the the Supreme slash deluxe or whatever the one is and it was too much pizza but if you got any less it would have been too little pizza but you got two mediums with me him and Amanda and Andy was with us too but Andy doesn't eat cheese so he had his own stupid pizza
Starting point is 00:23:55 and afterwards I'm like just bread yeah yeah pretty I was just bread and like ingredients on it and I was like this is way too much pizza for one person to eat but it's also two little pizza sorry too much for three people but too little for three people We're writing that like that stupid middle ground. And if Andy only have eaten some of our pizza, then he, everybody would have been happy and content.
Starting point is 00:24:19 I thought Andy, I think I've seen Andy eat cheese before. I have to keep a closer eye on it. Keep close to nine, Andy. I think it's one of those things are like, you know you're not supposed to, but you do it anyway. And like, it makes your, it makes your tummy hurt. Yeah. That's a really good pizza place. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:37 That's really, really good. It's probably one of the best pizzas I think of ever. had. I can think of a place where I've had better pizza. Definitely not around. Well, I guess it's a different type of pizza too. Yeah. It's like taco toppings on pizza. Yeah. But yeah, it's really good. Yeah. What what what's that pizza? What toppings? So, Roast City pizza, I haven't noticed to start better than I do, but the guy who owns the the pizzeria, the pizza shop, he went to he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza. So with his sister. Yeah. So like the bread, the
Starting point is 00:25:09 crust is really, really good. And, like, it's really high quality. And then he's like, I live in L.A. Let me make L.A. style pizza. So literally puts street taco toppings on pizza. It's super good. Yeah, and the way I find out about it is he was actually on the morning news one day. And me and my wife were watching and he was making a flaming hot chito pizza.
Starting point is 00:25:30 It sounds super good. My wife loves flaming hot chitos. Yeah. So she's like, we have to go there. It's so close to the house. So we went. Yeah, it was amazing. Ever since then, it's like, we don't go there.
Starting point is 00:25:39 often, but every couple of months we'll go there and we'll get like some interesting pizza. Yeah, they got, um, elote pizza. Yeah, elate pizza, which is basically like corn and, do they put mayo on it? I don't have to put mail on that pizza. That'd be kind of gross. I don't think so. It's just corn, basically. Mayo is gross on anything hot.
Starting point is 00:25:58 If it's hot and it has mayo in it, I just automatically don't want to eat it. The basso pizza is good. Yeah, like onions and stuff on there. That's true. It's trail and it can't be leto without mayo, but they also have, they have a, what is it? I think it's a lasagna sandwich or something. Yeah, lasagna sandwich. Yeah, a pastor torta, I believe.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Yeah. Yeah, really good pizza. The Vibiya pizza as well with a dipping sauce. So you dip, you dip the pizza into this brown meat sauce. Yeah. Brown meat sauce. They had pizza for dogs there. They even said that pizza for dogs.
Starting point is 00:26:32 I wish you would know. I wouldn't be surprised. Yeah. Yeah, and actually, they also have art shows. Oh, yeah? Yeah, like you see all that cool art they have, right, on the walls. They have like art shows every so often. Oh.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Yeah. When we went, I think they had a bunch of things off the wall. So maybe they like just sold them. But you guys can check out their other websites. It's Roastity Pizza.com or something. They have a cool anime shirt. Yeah. It reminds me, I think we're talking about this on the last podcast, but it reminds,
Starting point is 00:27:03 the reason why I like those shirts is because it reminds me of the hookups boards. Yeah. The hookup skateboards, which I still want to have one. Or like a shirt on it, but I don't think they're wearing to the office. And I want some Rose City pizza now, man. We should go. Let's go out to the podcast. I'm on a diet.
Starting point is 00:27:16 To celebrate. I'm on a diet, too. It's a pizza diet. But yeah. Speaking of puppies, actually, who was it? It was someone in one of the channels, I think it's a pets channel. They posted a really cute photo of their, of their pupper with the hoodie. Who was it?
Starting point is 00:27:37 It was cat six. the SFF guy. That is a really cute dog. As soon as I saw, I'm like, I need this dog. Like, bring it to me. I want it. There you go, yeah. So that's the guy with the shirt there.
Starting point is 00:27:52 I just realized there's a computer in this picture. I wonder what kind of computer they got. Maybe it's NZXT. Could be. We should do a partnership with that guy. I think personally, it'd be cooler if you did partnerships with, like, more interesting people than, like, just regular, like, streamers or something.
Starting point is 00:28:07 I did put up a NZXT sticker. in there somewhere. Oh, did you? Yeah. Did they take it off? I don't remember where I put it. We could always put more. Huh?
Starting point is 00:28:15 I don't remember exactly where I put it, but we can always put more. Right. I mean, we could always put more stickers everywhere. Yeah. We could just ask domestic to get rid of all the stickers and make it all N60. Let's put them all there. But yeah. Do we have any?
Starting point is 00:28:31 I was about to look for some questions right now. Do we have any questions? Favorite music genre? Let's see. My favorite music genre is definitely, rock and roll walk and roll. And I prefer
Starting point is 00:28:44 rock music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. That's probably the vast majority of the music I listen to. My favorite band of all time is the Smiths. Oh, okay. Want to play me a Smith song right now?
Starting point is 00:29:01 No. All right, cool, thank you. I can, but I mean... But yeah, I collect a lot of records. and you got you to see the instrumental so we can hang up behind it take me out tonight where there's music and there's people who are young and alive yeah I love I love the smith yeah I think we're talking about that in the car one day we're going to grab a bunch or something like that yeah when I was um like 11 or 12 I must have been like like
Starting point is 00:29:41 Like, no, maybe a little older, maybe like 13. Definitely an old head. I was, uh, I'm like this new stuff. I like the Smiths. I was 13 years old. I was in junior high. Right. And then my cousin, he was older.
Starting point is 00:29:53 He was like 21. And he was like a greaser guy. You know, he was like a pompadour. Oh, yeah, yeah. Like a leather jacket. Sacobilly. Rolled up jeans, you know, boots, drove like a cool car. And then one day he went to me and my, and his little brother.
Starting point is 00:30:11 who were in a band with me. We had a punk band, right? We thought we were all cool because we were punk rockers. And he's like, you know, if you guys really want to be in a band, you guys got to play some good music because the music you play sucks.
Starting point is 00:30:23 And he gave us a shoebox of cassette tapes. And it was every single Smiths and Morrissey tape. That was like his favorite group and singer. And I just became obsessed, man. I fell in love with the music instantly. What is it with Hispanics and the Smiths? So, Spanics love that, that, like, depressing. The theory is that, you know, Morrissey has a lot of similarities with primarily Mexicans
Starting point is 00:30:46 because he is an Irish immigrant living in England. Okay. So he kind of went through a lot of the same struggles and a lot of the stuff he sings about it's kind of very relatable to that audience. So that's a theory. I don't know if it's true or not. It's like an ongoing meme, right? Like Morrissey and Hispanics, especially in like L.A.?
Starting point is 00:31:05 Yeah. But yeah, that's basically, once I heard of that band, it just, you know became my favorite right away with you yeah but now the new stuff not so much into it you know he's older he's like six in his 60s now but i have seen morris he perform when he was in his 30s 40s 50s and 60s so for four for decades that's pretty crazy how how different is he um music wise very different yeah um definitely more chill now but he still rocks you know still plays the hits Yeah. I don't know if I have like a favorite genre to be honest. I just like a lot of stuff like I mean I only hear you playing that one song I'm just that what I'm just a kid in life is a nightmare They're like I'm I'm gonna bounce between genres here and there like I'll have like and how do we're this like I'll have like seasons where I listen to different things right so like example like right now I'm really heavy like using some of the hip hop and trap and whatever
Starting point is 00:32:05 whatever you know the genre de juries right now you're always listening to horrible music i love it because it's so bad post malone um who my post balone gang at yeah um i don't know this is like um but like like when i was in when i was in high school like i was a metal head dude like this is a lot of metal like whatever you you like whatever is the thing at the time i guess is what i listen to um and then you know like pretty much yeah you know and then you know like was a classic rock things like that but i mean you know like i have playlist for all kinds of occasions or different things like i have like a 2000s trend CDM playlist i have one for like you know 90s hip-hop and rap i got one you know for like classic rock i want for like metal i got a lot of stuff um
Starting point is 00:32:52 it really depends like what my mood is um i like i like heavy metal but the older heavy metal like black sabbath for example that's pretty awesome um let's ever Zeppelin, even though they're not, a lot of people say they're not metal, but, you know, I think they're like probably the first metal band. Really? Yeah. I would say Sabbath's the most, the, I'll say Zeppelin's more blues. It's more like Google, Google, who is the first heavy metal band? All right, let's see here.
Starting point is 00:33:21 First, I click the wrong button there. Who is the first heavy metal band? Let's see what we got here. Black Sabbath. The person pops up, then Led Zeppelin, Iron Judas Priest, Metallica. They don't, they're not, no, they don't count. The first time the phrase heavy metal was used in the song. The first use of the term was...
Starting point is 00:33:42 Heavy metal thunder. Was in a 1968 song by Steppenwolf, Born to Be Wild, and other early heavy metal bands. Yeah. So I say that most people, or most things I'm singing here, consider like Black Sabbath, deep purple, like the most, like, you know, the first, the first ones. I'll just take with Led Zeppelin just to make PSU guys upset.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Yep. Put some instrumentals here for a little bit. It's going to jam out for a minute. Yeah, so like, you know, like I, like with me, the way you can see music is like I'll go through like, I find something I like and then I'll go back and listen to like what inspired it and like where it's at now and things like that. So example, like when I first started really getting into like hip hop and like rap,
Starting point is 00:34:29 I just went back and listen to like the old stuff, right? I looked at documentaries, you know, like, you know, just like stuff about like, you know, how it was kind of like invented in like New York, right? And like, you know, these co-hirk and guys like that. Everybody rap like this. I think we're talking about that too. That's podcast.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Like, I can listen to like Curtis Blow, but I can't listen to it like all day, right? Clap your hands, everybody. If you got what it takes. It's like, oh, dude, it gets me. And I'm here to say. To the hip Yeah It's cool
Starting point is 00:35:06 But yeah you're right Like it's It was great for its time Right Even now Like It was different You definitely like
Starting point is 00:35:13 You got to play it like at weddings Yeah But that's basically it You hear that critic blow You're not good for weddings now These are the brains Bring it up Bring it up
Starting point is 00:35:23 Break it up Break it up Yeah Yeah so like I did a really heavy deep dive Into like 90s 90s
Starting point is 00:35:31 rap because like I grew up on that stuff you know like I remember driving around like Long Beach with my uncle and that's all he listened to back in the day before he found out what salsa was and like this now that's all listen to is it's awesome music I was a teenager in the 90s and during the whole gangster rap stuff like Dr. Dre snoop all that I liked it but it wasn't my favorite and I got made fun of because I was more into Nas mob deep Bhutan clan I would say they're like lyrically they're better right I think lyric and musically to be honest I don't about it's a different type of hip pop it's it's not you're not you're not supposed to dance to it yeah like the West Coast gangster rap like it's basically
Starting point is 00:36:08 music to dance too that's a good song great give him something to dance to did it it inch inch that's good they're both good you're just different it's a good deep cut yeah yeah welcome to the music cast I mean hey you know and then like like honestly I think the like genres like metal and rocker in a really weird period right now we're like it's like I don't know what the heck a rock band is anymore. You know what I mean? Like there are some bands who like, who like they are legit, just a rock band, right? But like if like there's so much cross like pollination with like that style of music now,
Starting point is 00:36:40 there's like a lot of electronic influences and a lot of rock now. And I don't know if I can consider it to be quote unquote rock, right? Like to me rock is guitars, bass. Like E rock. Yeah, right. Drums, right? And then like a singer. But like there's bands that I like who are really good.
Starting point is 00:36:58 with like instruments but also have a lot of like electronic backing stuff or like cool effects that they throw under the songs. So it's really hard for me to be like, yeah, I like rock because I don't know what the heck that means anymore. Yeah. Didn't you go to like some like my chemical romance concert or something recently? I went to almost acoustic Christmas. And it was literally I've never been to a show that had so many old people before or older older people because almost acoustic Christmas is thrown by a, a, uh, a radio station here called K or Q, the world famous KROQ, and they broke a lot of bands. They broke a lot of bands in the 90s, like, you know, like Jimmy World, you know, Green Day, stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:37:39 No doubt, you know, like there's a lot of like 90 rock alternative bands. So the audience for that is definitely a lot older. And the bands they had, they're playing at almost Acoustic Christmas was like, was it a bad Beck, right? Beck was there. Jimmy World. Just like these bands that have some older audiences. But this Friday, I'm going to be seeing
Starting point is 00:38:06 a lot of boomers because I'm going to go watch Reverend Horton Heat this weekend. And I've never seen a psychobilly band like real life. So I'm actually pretty excited. And that guy's still playing? Dude, those guys are still going hard. We were talking about my thing yesterday. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:38:22 This might be too. that guy's been playing since I remember since I was like in high school man yeah they've been around forever dude um here I don't have a instrumental for this but let's do for a minute so it's literally like the song came out when I was in high school yeah it's like
Starting point is 00:38:42 guitar stand at bass right crazy drums you guys guys are going in going to him it's cool music that's dope it's really funny because um we're talking about like Hispanic people I don't know where it started where like Hispanic people got really into like Psycho Billy or like rockabilly music but like we see them a lot around here they're driving in their nice cars he got you know the palms they got their
Starting point is 00:39:05 they're wearing their their their Chuck Taylor's and their rock and rock and roll has always been popular in Mexico yeah I mean even like going back to the 50s I mean look at Richie Valens of La Bamba right that's true yeah opening up for the big bopper and yeah Holly and there's like tons of a great Spanish rock brands like the most popular one is manna they have one I think like six six Grammy Awards if you don't know manna man I was like so my mom is definitely like like a alternative rock and a Spanish kind of person because it's all she will listen to them Los Angeles uh I forget who else you know some other stuff I can't
Starting point is 00:39:48 in many of the bands because I don't know my wife yeah um and that's why I listen that stuff in the car because like it just reminds me growing up or it's like my mom would be cleaning and he has to be like you know someone not playing or something it's great I definitely got to get a I definitely should watch them these days just go let's go to show may find me a wife or something yeah all right see what else we got here we have how did nzx t grow so big Um, it all happened overnight, man. But like, no, NGC was founded 15 years ago. Um, and it's just been little by little, um, slowly growing.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Um, I won't go into the entire history. Um, but, you know, like when I, when I started five years ago, I think worldwide, we had less than, I want to say 40 people or something. but in our office it was like less than 20 and it was 20 people that did pretty much everything like from sales to marketing to customer service to you name it and now we're over 200 people you know five years later and honestly it's just the way it got so big was by being very careful and not just making a bunch of products because we could because to be honest we don't make a lot products but that's intentional and we spend a lot of time making them so i think that's probably the
Starting point is 00:41:17 reason why um and also i think by by always listening to the community you know um really valuing their feedback not not ignoring them um yeah it took a long time you know the company was founded in 2003 and it's 2020 so it's not like it happened overnight definitely a very slow burn yeah Actually, like, I was thinking about this today. Like, I really want to ask Johnny and I don't know, maybe you know, like, how NXT, like, what we did during the 2008 financial crisis and, like, how we kind of handled that. I don't know if it really affected us a whole lot. Well, no, so I'm saying. It really, you know, we never really had a bunch of, like, products or a bunch of employees.
Starting point is 00:42:03 Like, we never had, like, a huge overhead. I mean, we just moved into this new office, which is huge. Right. But prior to this, I mean, we were in a dingy little warehouse and, like, our office was one room. We didn't have, you know, multiple rooms or anything like that. It's just we've never spent a bunch of money. Even to this day, like, you know, our, it's not like we have like a multi-million dollar marketing budget or anything like that.
Starting point is 00:42:24 It's, uh, you know. That's very true, yeah. Yeah, you don't, you don't see NCXT at every single event with a giant booth. That's like $100,000. Yeah. It's a reason for that, yeah. Should be very lean, right? Two years or three years ago now, um, when we first sponsored BlissCon.
Starting point is 00:42:39 That was literally the first time wherever. where we actually went into an event and did a booth like the real legit way. Yeah. Prior to that, it was like a fold-up table on a tablecloth. Some cases. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:42:54 But at BlissCon in 2017, or, yeah, 2017, we were the official case sponsor and we had 2,500 computers there. Ooh, something like that, yeah. And plus a crazy giant booth, and we did that two years in a row. So, and even to the day, we don't, we don't really do much events. It's not because we don't want to. It's just that it's a lot of money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:19 And a lot of time. It's really hard to track if it's worth it or not, right? Like, it's kind of hard to see like if being at like, say, Gamescom will actually lead to more sales or more shares. A lot of money, a lot of time. Yeah. A lot of resources. And we, we're still a small company.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Yeah. It's not like we have like, we don't, we don't have an event team, for example. We don't have an event planner or anything like that. Yeah, if we want to really go to an advance, like, okay, we have to kind of, you know, plan it out. And there's just not a lot of, a lot of time for that, really. PC says you already spent a lot of money on the community. Actually, we do. We do and we don't.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Well, yeah, you're right. Yes, no. I would say the vast majority of the money from the community budget goes to shipping. Because, you know, we ship free stuff all over the world. Um, and all that money could very easily go into other stuff like ads, for example, but we don't do ads. Like we don't, you know, run ads for the community. It's just, you know, I, we'd rather give out free, free shirts and stickers and
Starting point is 00:44:26 jciss and mail it to someone in, you know, Serbia or India or California even, wherever. Or Israel where we can't read the text and we had to like use Google Translate. That's where the majority. majority of the budget goes goes to like how do we get this free stuff to you guys yeah so it's not cheap it's expensive for sure but for us it's money well spent because we'd rather make you happy than you know like how do how do how to you know make more money oh do let's just run an ad and yeah just put our logo on whatever product and sell it's like that's and I think that's that's why we were able to kind of grow so big and so
Starting point is 00:45:10 like who we are now is because we went that route as opposed to the other way. Right. I think. That's my theory anyway. But yeah, there's times like I remember I shipped a case. So the PC Master Rays subreddit,
Starting point is 00:45:26 I think it was when they first hit. I don't think it was a number. I think it might have been just like the three year anniversary or something like that. We made a custom case. I think it was like 2015. and the winner ended up being in India. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:42 And I spent months trying to get the winner this case. And it cost like over $1,000 just to get him this case. Jesus. But he got it. And he was happy. He was happy. You know, it was worth it because, you know, that's money well spent right there. We made a community member happy.
Starting point is 00:45:57 That's all that matters is in the day, right? Yeah. I figure who asked it because I saw it. But did we play any sports? Did we or do we play any sports? Theo, once in a now. All right. I'll go first.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Sure. Yes and yes. Let's see. I grew up playing baseball. I love baseball. I started playing baseball when I was five. America's favorite pastime. And I played baseball all through high school.
Starting point is 00:46:21 I was on Magnolia High School baseball team, man. Hey. But yeah, when I got to college, I actually went to one of the best baseball schools, Kelsey Fullerton. And once I got there, it was like, I'm definitely not good enough to play here. I'm not even going to try.
Starting point is 00:46:35 So that's when I quit playing. But I've also always been. into skateboarding. Dennis put up an Instagram story of me skateboarding yesterday. Even though I don't do tricks now or anything that I would consider quote unquote a sport or remotely athletic. My only trick is not falling off. I still skate. I still ride bikes. I have a little baby seat on my bike. I take my daughter cruising. Yeah, see on Instagram every now and then. I love walking. I love going on walks and hikes and stuff like that. I hate running, which is why I like baseball because you just stand around. around chewing sunflower seats.
Starting point is 00:47:11 Hey. Yeah, I love playing sports, but now I really don't bother watching them. I used to watch a lot of sports, but once I got married and once I had a kid, I had way less time to do so. And this last year was actually the first time where I didn't watch any football. And I still played fantasy football. So I've been playing fantasy football since 1999. So over 20 years, right?
Starting point is 00:47:37 And this is the first year Where I didn't watch a single football game And I ended up winning two of my three Fantasy Football leagues Do you win any money? Yeah, I won like 500 bucks Hey, it's not bad And it's a whole switch right there
Starting point is 00:47:49 Yeah, and I was like, yeah You don't need to watch this stuff to win money Like Yeah What about you, Dennis? So I never really played too many sports But when I was younger So he's the thing, right?
Starting point is 00:48:00 My dad's really, really in the football, soccer, right? Love soccer. Huge fan. Like he like doesn't matter what game it is Dude, I remember waking up when I was a kid on like Sundays. I'm like, I'm watching some cartoons and he's already in the living room watching like whatever. Soccer so boring to me, man. I think soccer is great because, okay, so anyway, so my dad is a real big fan of soccer and he's a hey, you should play soccer.
Starting point is 00:48:21 So I played soccer for a few years. But it wasn't fun because he was so into it. It was never, hey, he did a good job is you could have done this, this, this, this, this. So like it didn't really make me confident that I was doing good. I see no, my God. Yeah, pretty much, right? Um, so like he's like he's he's a great dad. He's just really bad at like he's a bad teacher.
Starting point is 00:48:39 That makes sense, right? Like he didn't teach me to drive because he knew already he'd just get mad at me. So, so, so he had some, you know, he, I think all dads got like that. Yeah, pretty much. So like, um, so because of that, like I didn't really have a lot of enjoyment. But like as I got older, I'm like, man, you know, it's like, I really enjoy playing this game.
Starting point is 00:48:53 I wished to like, I stayed in it. And that doesn't think is that he, he let me quit too many things too often, which is both good and bad. Like when I told them, hey, I want to play piano. he was like oh piano and so he takes me somewhere and it's like hey you can learn to play the piano accordion I'm like piano accordion this is lame like who that plays accordion do this is this is for nerds I'm playing an accordion give me for any piano so I can you know so I can shmoo some ladies and and play me some and John or something so um I played soccer and I was a kid for a couple years and then I just never did it again and then as I got older like especially like in like high school um if you don't
Starting point is 00:49:30 really play when you get into high school you're not really going to you're you're so far behind a lot of people I guess that's the way that always saw it because like the kids who were playing on like the school soccer team they were playing forever they were playing so they were little kids right like that's kind of what they do all days to play soccer um so like I never felt like I could really like compete
Starting point is 00:49:48 I thought you were going to say that your dad told you to play Fortnite you did tell them how to build it now that I have a daughter I'm trying to think what sports to put her in so for she's going to turn two next month football do you have her the pigs get around for her two year birthday we're going to actually enroll her in ballet because she loves dance.
Starting point is 00:50:05 But she's also going to be really tall. So I don't know if this is true or not, but... You're going to ready to tell? Apparently, yeah, so apparently when... Get her into e-sports, Steve. When you turn two years old, your height is literally double what your height is at two. So my daughter is still one,
Starting point is 00:50:23 and my dad measured her the other day, and we doubled her height, and she's already six foot two. Seriously? Yeah, she's 37 inches right now. So she's going to be tall The doctor says she's going to be taller than me And I'm really
Starting point is 00:50:37 And I'm 6 too Dang So she's probably going to be I don't know Basketball volleyball Seven foot heels yeah Yeah And my wife's really tall
Starting point is 00:50:45 You know She's I've never seen her other than sitting in the car She's six foot tall Is she really? Yeah So wait hold up How tall are you?
Starting point is 00:50:53 6 2 Oh I didn't realize you were so tall Yeah That's because I'm always slouching down Like I know you're tall But I never thought you were actually 62 What the heck?
Starting point is 00:51:02 If anyone knows any sports for tall people, let me know. So I can enroll my daughter. Yeah, it would be basketball, maybe baseball, right? I think of volleyball. Volleyball. All the most pretty good. She likes smacking things, especially me. I think swim, right?
Starting point is 00:51:20 If you're taller, swims really good. I forget what sports are really good if you're tall. Because I don't like there are a good number of soccer players who like tiny, like, Messi's a tiny dude, right? he's like super super short and like he's like one of the best players in the world so i don't think with that you do you need to worry about wrestling wrestling ooh w w i was gonna train her just to be like you know some actor like w ua w a that'd be kind of cool yeah yeah like um i think i think kids should play sports they should do something physical i think kids should do whatever they want man
Starting point is 00:51:52 well no it's i mean for sure but like but like you should do something physical when you're younger because i think it kind of sets you up because like people who who who play sports sports from like like a lot of sports or they do something really physical when they're young like they're always just like naturally like more lean right i i i feel like as like you're growing up you kind of grew up to be more of like a leaner person you know i mean i think kids should do not just sports but anything like for example that's why i put in her in ballet because we notice she loves every time i put on a record at the house she starts dancing and she she likes to like kind of go with the beat you know if i saw her kicking a soccer ball around i'd put her in soccer but i just think it of porn you kind of just like kids kind of experiment man i don't think every kid's gonna want to play sports that honestly like not every kid's gonna want to play sports and to me that okay that's cool but what do you want to do like you're not just gonna waste your time all day like you want to play games all right you're gonna play games but let's let's at least try to figure out you know let's mess around different games or maybe different ways to play games whatever maybe nowadays you can join
Starting point is 00:52:56 in e-sports leagues, I'm sure. Yeah. Maybe they want to play music. Maybe they want to learn how to cook. Yeah, they want to learn, you know, how to do arts and craft. But I might do something, right? Because I didn't really do a lot when I was a kid in that sense. Like, like, I never really stuck to anything.
Starting point is 00:53:10 So I think because of that, I always had trouble like staying on track for stuff, right? Because like, I think when you do something like anything, where it's sports, music, music, dance, whatever, you're kind of setting your, your mind up for like, you're the thing that you're working on, right? And it's going to suck sometimes, but there's a payoff at the end. And I think that's what's most important. It's going to teach you that, like, kind of discipline. Even if there is no payoff.
Starting point is 00:53:33 I think it's important to show them just the work that goes into even failing. Like, you tried so hard and you still didn't fail. In the end, it doesn't even matter. It's all about the struggle, man. It's challenging yourself, trying to get better. And you will get better. Even if you're not the best. So what?
Starting point is 00:53:51 Like, who is the best? There is no best. It's like making yourself better and going through that struggle, whatever it is. agreed yeah all right um related to nzxie how do the community grow so big uh that's a good question ninja giveaway yeah pretty much yeah no the discord server that's the first time it really blew up was that um but uh let's see i remember when i first started working at nzxte we had 30 or no 25000 or so twitter followers and like we've we have done giveaways you know where you follow ntxte for a chance to win
Starting point is 00:54:33 but for the majority of the giveaways we've done it really hasn't been like that um i mean to be honest i really don't know how we got to where it is now other than a lot of the influencer support for sure you know doing you know promotions with them um also supporting the influencers like we're very active in their communities as well so i think a lot of those communities kind of see us and might might get attracted to what we're doing the club for sure you know a lot of people you know want one free stickers or free shirts whatever and there's nothing wrong with that you know it's it's here for you guys so i think a lot of people join that way they end up sticking around right and like oh this place actually kind of cool it's non-toxic everyone's really for the most part super nice right and you know the the moderators actually i like strict rules let me check this place out but yeah also i think as we started selling computers like we spent 14 years not selling computers so I think once we started selling computers they kind of introduced us to a whole new audience of people right that now we're only buying our product but you know coming to the community right yeah so they're I can't really say for sure
Starting point is 00:55:45 like here here's the one thing that led to the the growth it was just kind of a combination of a lot of things really so it took a lot of time it didn't happen really like overnight or anything like that. All right. I'm looking for some questions that can link to more conversation, things you haven't talked about already. Talked about that, talked about that, talked about that, talked about that, talked about that. Have you ever learned to play musical instruments? If not, what one would you want to learn? Peacey gurus should know the answer to this question. I play guitar, man. I've been playing guitar. Well, I first picked up a guitar when I was like 13, but, you know, and I was like in a punk band like I mentioned earlier like all through high school um and I still play guitar to this day
Starting point is 00:56:27 but now I play acoustic guitar I don't play electric guitar anymore probably mainly because my wife is annoyed by loud noise it's very very different playing acoustic guitar I like I used to think you know acoustic car acoustic guitars for like old old dudes but yeah I'm actually an old dude now so yeah yeah it's dope though it's now yeah now yeah now I appreciate it a lot more than when I was a kid for sure. But it's also really hard, like, especially just like the F-court. Like, if anyone who who plays guitar would know what I'm talking about, it's like almost impossible to play that chord in an acoustic until you like build up that strength in your finger. And it takes a long time. And I, you know, I wouldn't consider myself a great guitar player by any means. I'm literally a three-court
Starting point is 00:57:13 drummer. Like I wasn't a punk band, you know, I wasn't, you know, like playing guitar solos or anything like that. I just, I love playing music for my daughter. I play, she likes the Beatles a lot. So I play a lot of Beatles songs. Dennis, play me some Beatles. Yes, sir. Yeah, I play a lot of songs like that, or songs that my wife will tell me she likes, you know, can you learn how to play this song? And I'll learn it if I can. I'm horrible at singing, though. I guess if I can learn anything, I would probably take singing lessons. Because I think it would be cool if I can play. play the guitar and also sing. I did sing Andy a song when he was on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:57:53 You did. I remember that. We recorded half of it. I recorded half of it. Yikes. There we go. Okay, so I'm sorry. I'm starting up on questions that we haven't already answered yet because y'all.
Starting point is 00:58:06 How about you? Do you play any instruments? I play a little bit of guitar. I've been, I say I've been learning guitar for like 13 years. So I'll pick it up. I'll play it for like one, two months. I'll learn something new.
Starting point is 00:58:17 And then I'll put it down. and forget that I'm playing guitar. I'm just a kid and my life is a nightmare. And then I'll like and then I'll just have like a have like a hankering. I'm like, man, like I really want to learn guitar again. So I'll pick it up and I start playing and I got kind of relearn a little bit and then I learn a little something extra and then I put it down again. So again, this just goes back to like I was really bad at like putting time in a lot of things.
Starting point is 00:58:37 It's just a matter of putting in that word. Yeah. And then I tried taking a piano class. Me too. I quit after one day. I was like I'm not gonna I'm not gonna I knew right away I was it gonna learn how to play the piano I was just like I tried it once and I was like this is way over my head I do not know how to read music and I don't want to learn it because I suck at math
Starting point is 00:59:02 uh honk wants to know do you guys do how do you guys do these podcasts and where did this podcast thing come from so we do the podcast by sitting down in a room with a mixer and a computer an 16 computer uh running a dvdd edition and we record off of that And then we talked to the mics. I plug it all in. We did the podcast because one, we wanted it, right? The community wanted it. And also because when I was hired in, I had told Ivan and them that I had experience producing content, producing like streams and producing podcasts because I've done multiple in the past.
Starting point is 00:59:37 And now that we had someone who knew how to do it, I just told me to do it. So I did. And I always wanted to do a podcast because I love talk radio. When I was a kid, I used to do fake radio shows with my sisters. shout out to WRAB that's our initials yeah like I don't know like
Starting point is 00:59:56 something about just listening to people talk it's always been very like just calming and relaxing for me I don't know what it is I just love hearing people have a conversation without having to actually participate in it but now that I'm actually like
Starting point is 01:00:11 doing a podcast it really makes me tired like after we do a podcast I have to take a really long break and I can't really just talk to people. It's like, I need just, you know, leave me alone for like a couple hours because I don't want to think.
Starting point is 01:00:25 It's, it's, it's a, it's a, it's mentally, you know, it's like, it's like mentally, not draining, but like, you know, you have to spend time thinking about like, I don't know, like what you're going to talk about and how are you going to say it. And it's like you're having a conversation, but not in the same way you have a conversation with like a person because you're kind of talking to an audience
Starting point is 01:00:46 who is not there with you. No, I don't want to hear talking. Oh, gaming and steady beats. Let's put some backgrounds up here. Think me out. Will mod applications be open when we need more mods? Yeah, I think we have a pretty solid mod team right now. The server seems to be doing pretty good right now.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Showing? Yeah, I think. Unless, I mean, if you guys don't think so, then let us know. Yeah, cause some chaos and we'll open them up again. Yeah. That's basically it. So you heard it. break some rules guys um let's see um i think this question more for Amanda how can people visit
Starting point is 01:01:29 the nz6th HQ um you don't i mean this is like no official like it's no process yeah policy on it although there should be um basically you know you ask and if we can we'll try to make it happen that's basically it um we can't always do it um but if we We can. We'll try to make it happen. Yeah. It's really like, I mean, I'm going to say that some people might be kind of mad, right? Like you kind of, hopefully you're like a higher rank in the server, right? Like, anybody's walking here. Like, we can have to know you a little bit. Yeah, yeah, you have to be part of the community, right?
Starting point is 01:02:06 Sometimes people just show up. Yeah. And then we tell them no. No, people show up. I'm too busy. Yeah, like at our old office, we had a giant NZXT sign on the side of the warehouse. And every once in a while, people would just be driving by and they'd see the sign and they just pull over and like knock. And it's funny because Johnny always sat close to the door and he'd be the one to answer the door. And like, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:02:29 They don't think they realize it was the founder opening the door. They'd ask me like, hey, is this NXT? And Johnny would be like, yeah, come on in. Come hang out, yeah. What's up? Yeah, John is a really cool guy. So it's funny when Alan came through, we wanted to go grab lunch. I went to domestic, right?
Starting point is 01:02:49 And we're sitting there for like, we just ordered our food, we sat down and literally like Johnny and like everybody like walks through. Oh yeah? And they're like looking at us, look at them and they go behind us to this big table. We're like, okay, cool. But then like before like when we're going to get up and go,
Starting point is 01:03:04 John is like oh, you know, like is that on leaving because he wanted to make sure he said bye before he left. So he was like Johnny says those like really, really, really nice guy, super mindful. You know, like he knows that people come out and, you know, if it wasn't for the community, you know like we wouldn't have jobs you know so he definitely understands like you know hey you came here to visit and make sure before you leave that I say hi and bye and thanks for talking about
Starting point is 01:03:24 johnny is the first community manager big facts um let's see here uh what is something the technology hasn't made easier that you wish people still did the quote unquote hard way listening to music you think so yeah no dude no i'd like i i don't like streaming music because whenever i'm streaming music i'm always doing something else and that's why i've all I've always collected records. I've always liked records because for me, listening to a record is like watching a movie, reading a book.
Starting point is 01:03:53 I just focus on that. You know, like streaming music is just background noise, honestly. And like I love going home and, you know, when I want to relax, okay, what I want to listen to? Oh, I feel like this. And then I'll pull out the record, you know, and it's like this big giant artwork with like lyrics on the sleeve, liner notes
Starting point is 01:04:16 and it's cool to see like oh this band thank this band and that's how you would discover bands back in the day like you know you pull out a record and you know this band is thinking some band you never heard of so then next time you're at the record store you know you're digging around and then you remember
Starting point is 01:04:32 oh yeah I remember this band mentioning this band and you take a gamble and take a risk on it and then sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad but that's literally how you discover music and for me like I never want to lose that because it's I love I love it. It's like a whole different experience than just like,
Starting point is 01:04:47 Alexa, play post Malone. And then, you know, it's like, you go on with your day. You know, and you do whatever.
Starting point is 01:04:53 It's very different. And I don't think a lot of people, um, have experienced music otherwise. So they don't really know what they're missing out on. So, yeah. Princess Kudel just said,
Starting point is 01:05:05 oh my God, Miko's playing post Milan because you said it Alexa. Uh, I, so this is a little bit newer. and not as boomery or maybe it is more boomery. But I think that
Starting point is 01:05:21 matchmaking in online video games is something that's easier but I wish people will go back to the hard way. And the reason why I say that is because I remember when I was growing up I was playing Connestrike, right? You had to find a server. So you have to search a server browser
Starting point is 01:05:35 and the people around their own servers, right? Cost maybe 30, 40 bucks a month for like a 10, 20 person server or something like that. And I think that when you find a good server that you like, we have people who like being in there. You kind of had to talk to them. You form these little communities around these servers.
Starting point is 01:05:52 And now with matchmaking, I click a button. I'm in with a bunch of nobodies. I leave and I don't ever have to worry about saving the server to my favorites or reconnecting or winning for a slot. I remember there were like servers where like everyone is really cool and they're really funny. We're just all playing kind of strike for like hours, right? And I'd be like, oh, these guys are cool.
Starting point is 01:06:11 I want to play with them again tomorrow. So I would save the server. And, and, like, you know, you form these communities. And now, like, you know, now this kind of loss. And I feel like because you had to put so much effort in to find these servers and finding servers that you liked, you know, more likely to talk to people. Like, there's so many games now where you have so many people in these servers and nobody talks on the mic.
Starting point is 01:06:33 It's just, it's dead. It's like a ghost town. And it's weird to me because, like, we have this technology. We can communicate people and have fun and nobody does it, right? Yep. I can't name some games like a example right like I'll play overwatch ranked right and when you're playing a right game you can have to communicate and there are so many games I'm in where people just don't talk as I bro like I literally have to tell you something so you don't
Starting point is 01:06:55 die so when this game and you're just shut like open your mouth right so that's back in my day we had to wait in a queue yeah yeah that too and that was a thing too we're like we're like your your server maybe like eventually got popular and you're like oh man you're like I got to wait 10 minutes to get into the server, you know, so, so, uh, so, the way for somebody to leave, so get into the server.
Starting point is 01:07:16 And, and now, you know, and now, you know, it's not, I don't like that no more. Communication is definitely, I can't,
Starting point is 01:07:22 honestly, I wish I could say, I could relate, but I don't play any games or have to match make. Yeah. Mario Rabbits, man. My rabbits is fire.
Starting point is 01:07:30 It's a dope game. Um, let's see, uh, so that one's already, will there be another contest like the sticker contest? Hmm.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Oh, that's a good idea. Maybe we should work on that. Maybe. Maybe. How does it feel knowing that I'm going to try my hardest in order to work alongside you guys? It feels great. I love the fact that people want to work here because, you know, that wasn't always the case.
Starting point is 01:07:58 Yeah. But now, like, people every day ask, how do I get a job there or how do I intern there and things like that? And I love that because, you know, I love this job. Definitely the best job I ever had. So I hope that word, more people in the community work here. Like, there's people that work here who were members of the community. You know, like, I think the coolest story is about McKay, who's in customer service.
Starting point is 01:08:25 He's like, I think he's like 23, but when he was like 15 or so, maybe even younger, he actually wrote a letter to Johnny telling him, you know, how much he loved in ZXT. It's a great story. And now he's here, you know. I love it here in stuff. always like that. So yeah, if you want to work here, it's definitely possible. You know, it's, I don't want to say it's, oh, it's hard to get a job here or it's easy to get job here. No, it's just if you're really, you know, if you're really about it. If you really believe
Starting point is 01:08:56 in what NTC is, like, it's going to happen, right? It's like, you know, you know what we're about. Yeah. Pretty much it. So the only real answer. Yeah. Um, I think it's great. You know, I can't wait to work with some of you guys. You know, I think it's awesome. have the community of people who want to be with us and work with us and, you know, just love what we're about. It's like you said. And I think it's, you know, it's a, it's going to be cool. Let's see here. What's your favorite takeaway food? Take takeaway or takeout? Takeaway, takeout. It's different countries. I mean, I don't actually, I don't really order takeout that much. I could deliver you through like grab hub and stuff like that. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:09:39 I guess it counts. I'm too lazy to just call on the phone, order food, then go drive and pick it up. Nah. Yeah. But I guess, I mean, honestly, the only time I do that, the pizza place by my house is takeout only. So, like, literally, that's it. I don't deliver or nothing. So that's probably just pizza.
Starting point is 01:10:02 Wings. I get wing stop on the regular. You're a wing guy. I love wings, dude. I had wings yesterday. Like, my folks know if they're going to get pizza, they got to get extra wings. I'll be like 90% wings, like 10% pizza. I'll get like one slice and like, I'll get like nine wings.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Wings are great, dude. I love wings. They're so simple to eat and they're tasty. You got all kinds of sauces on there. You know, and like, I don't feel as bad because it's just chicken and, you know, sometimes a little bit of breading. You get all these sauces you can dip them in. I'm not a wing guy. My wife is.
Starting point is 01:10:32 Yeah? My wife is a wing gal. Dude, I feel like you, I feel like me and your wife would be really good friends. I swear. Maybe you should marry her then. Unless. Let's see here. What else you got here?
Starting point is 01:10:46 Looking through these questions. CSGO or Rainbow Six? For me, CSGO. CSGO. I tried playing Rainbow Six once and I was like, this is way too complicated for me. I didn't want to learn. And then CSGO was probably the game I played
Starting point is 01:11:02 the most ever on a computer. So, CSGO. Yeah. I like Rainbow Six. I appreciate it. I still think CSGO is the tighter, better game. It's so simple, but also so deep. You feel like Rainbow 6 has the add-in complexity,
Starting point is 01:11:17 where CSGO just naturally has a really fine detail of difficulty. It has a really good curve, right? Like, you know from the beginning what you're doing, right? But the difficulty in CSGO is fine-tuning your gameplay, right? CSGO is even just watching CSGO, because I think that's why, like, you know, CSGO is, on E-League is because it's just so easy to follow.
Starting point is 01:11:42 It's 5 versus 5. And you're basically securing the flag, right? That's what it is. So, yeah, it's very easy to follow. Very easy to play. Rainbow 6 is basically, like, fancy Overwatch. There's just too much going on for me, man. Because, like, these characters are these characters,
Starting point is 01:11:58 these operatives literally have, like, they have hero abilities. Like, it's literally what it is. It's literally, it's a hero shooter. You don't want to say it. Oh, it's tactical, but it's a hero shooter, dude. I opened up Rainbow 6. I was like, there's drones involved? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:11 No, thank you. Too much for me. It looks awesome. Obviously, love to play. It's a great game. Like, I enjoy playing it when I do like watching people play Rainbow Six. Especially a lot of people play it at the office. I'll sit and watch him, but I just, I guess I'm just lazy.
Starting point is 01:12:27 I don't want to take the time to learn how to play it away. Yeah. What do you guys think of Coursera's new case? They showed up at CES this year, the one with the tiny RGBs on the front and side panel. I don't think I've seen that. Yeah, I'm going to say neither. I don't pay attention to what you do. What is your musical guilty pleasure?
Starting point is 01:12:42 I have no guilty pleasures. That's assuming that I have something that I'm ashamed to listen to. Well, I guess, like Dennis, I also listen to a lot of music. My parents, like, just because I love, you know. Some memories. Reminishing, so maybe that. Maybe country, but there's some countries on slap. Yeah, old town road, man.
Starting point is 01:13:06 Greatest song ever. Greatest country song ever. written. Greatest song, man. It's like the TBH. It's the longest charting
Starting point is 01:13:14 single or whatever, ever. Is there a story? How do we stop chat from dying? How do we stop it from dying? Yeah, keep talking. That's your fault.
Starting point is 01:13:27 It's not our fault. By having Poppy typing it. Right. It's just one. It's going nuts. What's the price of the NZXT case Red to H-440? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:13:37 About 200 bucks now, since you can't buy them anymore. I mean, yeah, it's a black market now. Retail was what, one... It's $1.49, I think. I think it was $119 or $1.29. I don't remember. Something like that.
Starting point is 01:13:47 I remember paying for sure over $100 from my age 40. Yeah. Back in the day. There's still, you can still get new ones. There's still new ones out there somewhere, but I don't really know how much they cost. Yeah. Nibbler, are NXT gaming chairs ever going to be in stock?
Starting point is 01:14:03 Vivian would know. At Vivian. Yeah, me and Dennis. We don't know what is in stock, what isn't. I asked Vivian those questions. People ask us and then we just ask Vivian. We have no idea. Razzie Kui wants to know.
Starting point is 01:14:17 When is there coming new stuff of N6T, like mouse pads, N6T mouse and chairs? So we have chairs. We don't know from stock though. Yeah, we have mouse pads on our website. I don't think we ship them anywhere else though, right? Once again, Vivian would know. Yep, that's Vivian.
Starting point is 01:14:31 Anytime you want to buy anything, anytime you want to buy an NZXT product, whether it's from us or, anyone else, Vivian is the one that would know way more than us. Yep. Anytime you need help with like your order, Vivian would also be the one that can help you out the most. When it comes to tracking rewards, I'm probably, I could probably help you more, but she also helps a lot. Like when I can't figure it out, I just go to Vivian. Like a lot of people, a lot of times people will message me, hey, my order is stuck in customs. Can you help? I have no idea what to do. I just
Starting point is 01:15:05 have you can help me because I have you know she's she's the expert when it comes to all that stuff yep that's literally her job yeah yeah uh nibler also wants to know uh video podcast when well i've been waiting man the camera's like right when we can do it right i think i still think we should just set up the camera somehow like just angled or even like up here maybe just even though we can't do with the discord anymore even though it's uh we had to do the twitch we can't do video we can record the podcast how we do it just keep the audio and then just broadcast the live stream somewhere else. I mean, we tried it once on Halloween.
Starting point is 01:15:39 We did the Instagram story. That's a little different, though. Not the same at all. When will a podcast with all the staff members happen? Probably never. I mean, how we're going to get 200 people in this room? Way too much. Three people could barely sit in your Nibbler and Alan will tell you.
Starting point is 01:15:56 Where's Andy? He's visiting Jay's Two Sense. Is he? I think so, actually. He went to go see him to give him some stuff. Give him a hug. I'll post a picture of Anne. Andy in his honor then. N60 Manta V2 when?
Starting point is 01:16:09 Hopefully one day. That's my favorite case of all time. But currently, as far as I know, there are no plans to make another Manta. What if I ran an N60 booth for thus years, for this year's Insomnia Birmingham Convention? Go for it. Yeah, do it. Beers won't pay for it. N60 Cryo v61 win. What are they talking about?
Starting point is 01:16:33 I don't know. I think it's a cool reason to make or something. Oh, the cryo, the laptop cooler, that thing? Yikes. Probably never again. Evan or Den, are you joining my Clash of Clans clan? I used to play Clashy Clans. Different minute.
Starting point is 01:16:51 It is fun. Actually, you know what, Cuddle? I'm going to download that game right now and I will join. Because I do need some game to distract me right now, so I'll download Clash of Clans. Send me the invite. Distracting from this podcast. I have nothing against mobile game
Starting point is 01:17:09 I love actually playing games on my phone when something's cool I don't That's why I like Puzzle Fighter That was really fun The Mario Run game Another super fun game It's a teppin, bro
Starting point is 01:17:20 Dr. Mario World, another super fun game There's some card games Yeah, I have What's a rain? The game rain A rain card game Is it called rain? R.E.
Starting point is 01:17:32 Or rains I'm sorry. Rains, never heard of it. Yeah, it's cool A devolver digital game, card game. Downfall. A devolver. There's a lot of good mobile games.
Starting point is 01:17:41 Like devolver. Could we get an art channel or photographer channel? For now, we have the wallpaper channel, but I'll make a poll right now. Should we have an art or photography channel? And if enough people ask or say yes, say we do it. And then watch it die because no one's going to participate in it. That'd be cool we did, though. Are any plans to expand NXXTMA?
Starting point is 01:18:03 This is for Amanda. What MSA monitor is that? It's the one we saw on our website. I know the model number. It's a good one though. It's curved. It's nice. I like it.
Starting point is 01:18:13 I wish I had it at home, to be honest. The AOC one that I bought is very nice, but I had to spend like an hour calibrating it to make sure it looks like not butt. Is there a story meaning behind NZXT? There was a little boy named Johnny who wanted to make cases for gamers. So you did it. And that's how NZXT came to be.
Starting point is 01:18:32 The easy answer. is Johnny just thought it looked cool. Yep. So this looks better than what we have currently, so you did it. There's no like, it's not an acronym for anything. It's just literally just thought it looked cool. Yep. And I think it looks cool.
Starting point is 01:18:50 Do you like Star Wars? Love Star Wars. Yep. I actually went to Star Wars Land at Disneyland on Tuesday. I want to take my daughter there. Yeah. This is a girl I'm talking to. She's like, I work at Disney.
Starting point is 01:19:00 You want to go? I'm like, heck yeah, I want to go at Disneyland. So we went. And I bought a nice flex. Thanks, man. Talking to a grill. Wow. And I know, imagine talking to people.
Starting point is 01:19:10 Yich, gross. I don't know why my daughter loves Star Wars so much. Try the milk. I did not try the milk. I didn't try any food there. I wasn't hungry. I also food at these ones really expensive, but maybe I will.
Starting point is 01:19:19 Yeah, that's another reason why I want to take my daughter and that's Barry Farm instead. But just that Star Wars thing, it looks awesome, man. I want to go check it out too. You know, it's really cool. Like, we were walking around. There's this Imperial,
Starting point is 01:19:32 or I guess, first order transport. And this guy walks up to it. starts talking he's like I know there's a there's a resistance spy here bow button and caloran comes out and starts talking about oh snap it's color rude I think uh Dennis and I kind of have a different view of Disneyland because we both grew up in Anaheim yep and when I was a kid Disneyland was very different um it was actually very cheap and affordable and if you lived in Anaheim they would give you season passes for like $50 or something like that it was like ridiculously cheap I would I would have a season pass at Disneyland like every year up until
Starting point is 01:20:05 I went to college basically. And now it's like not like that at all. Now if when I go to Disneyland, you're probably going to spend $1,000 to be honest. It's especially with the family. It's minimum $1,000. Tickets are like $150 each and things like me probably 200 if you want like Park Hopper. Ridiculous. The food there is pretty expensive.
Starting point is 01:20:24 I took my niece there maybe like two years ago. Yeah. After not going for like, you know, maybe like five years or something. And I was just like I'm never going to come here again because so many people. people man I went in like in the middle of the week like on a Wednesday and had to wait in line like three hours for everything three hours yeah everything was just like packed just people all over the place and I don't know I didn't have fun at all there's um there's there's definitely like a trick or like like some stuff you learn if you have like a season pass because people go people who have season passes they'll go for like you know for like an hour or two they'll grab go like when we one or two rides maybe grab some food yeah but how much is he's not look it up but there's isn't look it up but there's it's I don't look it up but there's They're there. It's like a phone bill, dude. It's like a phone bill every month.
Starting point is 01:21:09 Disney season pass or annual pass. It's expensive, dude. See, if you want the one, so like, let's say you want the one with no blockout dates, right? Just every day of the year. That's $103 a month. So that was actually $100 for the year when I was in high school. And me and all my friends had that. And we would, after school, $200.
Starting point is 01:21:33 We would literally like take a butt. to Disneyland or someone drove they would drive us and we would go there and we would you know go on a couple rides and get some hot chocolate or whatever and then that was the rule was we had to be home before the fireworks went off the fireworks go off every night at nine and if you were home but before nine when the fireworks went off you get in trouble I can see the fireworks from my house actually yeah like like right on my street I see the Disney fireworks go off you can also do the Disney Southern California select admission to one or both
Starting point is 01:22:05 theme parks during select days of the year it's $20 a month after a hundred fifty four dollar down payment you imagine putting a down payment on something wow yeah it's gonna it's gonna but I like Star Wars thing Star Wars is cool I think I think Star Wars just has really crappy lore like really crappy like they do really good power supply guys you mean oh no like I think do a really bad job of like showing that stuff off like like I I don't care about the extended universe stuff, right? Like, I think they, I don't know, they, they, they, they tried to make it into something that it's not.
Starting point is 01:22:43 You know what I mean? For me, I, because Star Wars is a simple story. For me, Star Wars is the original trilogy. I could not care less about the prequel trilogy, the sequel trilogy, all these like Han Solo stories, whatever. Yeah. For me, it's just that original trilogy. And I just rewatch that. Like, I don't really care about this whole Skywalker thing or whatever.
Starting point is 01:23:04 I literally just watched the original trilogy. But with the exception of my daughter, she likes watching Forces of Destiny, which is like little five-minute episodes, like animated. Greek Gogher says they do a bad job in the movies, but the books, TV shows, and comics are awesome. Yeah, but it's the thing that, right? Like, I don't want to read a comic or a book or anything like that.
Starting point is 01:23:27 Like, it's giving me good movies. Give me good movies and cool stories. And, you know, like example, I liked Rogue One. I thought Rogue One was cool. It was a good short story. give some backstory it wasn't like I think the problem with Disney Disney or just Star Wars in general is they try to make it this really big like well story like some of the simplest stories like the Mandalorian are really cool the thing here's
Starting point is 01:23:46 what happened the same thing happened to Star Wars that happened to like Marvel which is also owned by Disney there these movies now they're just commercials for all the licensed merchandise they sell that's what that's what they are so it's not like they don't really try to make a good story like the movies are going to make a of money regardless because it's a two hour or three hour whatever commercial for like lunchboxes and t-shirts and you know Disneyland and it's literally just commercials um and i kind of that's how i see it yeah so for me like i don't really care like i just i'll watch the originals and i'm happy re-watching them because the original trilogy's class like that for me those are like some of the
Starting point is 01:24:27 best movies ever made yeah yeah so yeah i mean they're also really basically let's be wrong it's like Like, if you want a real good story, you watch Star Trek. Right. Star Wars is for babies. Star Trek's for adults. Hate Star Trek. Star Trek's got some good stories, though. Let's see.
Starting point is 01:24:46 Anything else here? Some real questions. You want good stories? You watch Twilight Zone. Heck yeah. When will N6T become purchasable? More is really a thing for the pop-up. Oh, the actual tea?
Starting point is 01:25:02 Yeah, the tea. Probably never. I mean, we just made it for the pop-up. Yeah. Alan wants to know, Ivan, what's the prize item in your record collection? Ooh, probably my, my Smith's singles box set. I have a box set of every single that the Smith's ever released. And what's cool about it is they're seven-inch singles, so they're little tiny records. Which actually wear out the needles faster on your record player because I can spin faster.
Starting point is 01:25:29 Oh, really? But I love that I have every single. single because my plan is one day to give all my records to my daughter i don't know when that day's going to be but i'm literally collected him for her now um so that's like one that's definitely the my most prize one because my favorite band and also it's just like a very unique item i think i bought it for a hundred dollars when it came out and i don't know how much it's worth now yeah dude probably like fifty dollars well i don't know look it up smith singles box it I bought it for 100 bucks.
Starting point is 01:26:06 See here. Box that vinyl? Yeah. 7 inch singles. Vinyl. DiscoGs.com. Tell me your pricing. Buy vinyl.
Starting point is 01:26:23 12. Yeah, this is 7 inches. Buy vinyl. How much would it be if I bought this? 90 bucks. Yeah. So I lost $10 on it. These are like third party seller.
Starting point is 01:26:30 So like 185. 119. It's about 100 bucks. 100 bucks. 100 to 150. He's got selling it for $480. Yeah. You can't buy that in stores anywhere.
Starting point is 01:26:42 So, yeah. Probably that one. I also have the Morrissey singles Volume 1 box. I don't have volume 2. Couldn't find it. Yeah. And I also have a lot of records that I listened to as a kid that my mom used to play for me, like a lot of children's music.
Starting point is 01:27:02 So probably those. yeah basically i i i have a lot of records but it's not like i have like i'm not the type of record collector that collects him because like i'm collecting them for a profit like i collect them because i actually listen to them yeah um get to ruin them i mean yeah it's like i'm not like uh i'm not buying them like you know to make money right uh hurdy gamer wants to know what's your favorite netflix series i know you don't watch netflix actually actually just You just pick up a subscript. Well, my wife is stealing a subscription right now
Starting point is 01:27:39 because she wanted to watch this show. For who? We've been watching it every night the last couple of weeks. The show is it? Called you. You. It's pretty cool. I think I heard of it.
Starting point is 01:27:51 Someone kept telling me about this the other day. Netflix, you. From you, Den. What would you do for love? For a brilliant male bookstore manager who crosses past with inspiring female writer this question is put to the test a charming yet awkward crush becomes something even more sinister when the writer oh yeah man knows something about this one is the about the serial right and i love it because that guy and me that guy and me have a lot in common
Starting point is 01:28:20 like even when my wife told me she's like you want to watch this netflix show i can get the password from my cousin i was not really interested and then i said i said my cousin betto play me the trailer and if i like the trailer i'll give it a shot and in the trailer they played um a cover from the song Creep by Rage Ahead, one of my favorite songs. And a really great cover. I forgot who sings it. It's a female vocalist. Dennis, play me Creep by Raverhead cover, please.
Starting point is 01:28:47 Or I guess play the U trailer. It'll pop there. I'm just to play the instrumental. So yeah, I gave it a shot. And then, like, the first episode, they also talk about, like, some of my favorite authors. I'm a huge bookworm. Yep, he reads a lot.
Starting point is 01:29:01 They talked about, you know, Jack Kerouac and On the Road. Like my favorite book. of all time and I was like all right I can relate to the show I'll watch it and it's a cool show um it sounds really good it's actually not gory and there's not a lot of like killing in it or anything it's a lot of suspense a lot of like uh you know it's a thriller I have a problem with like with like that kind of stuff because like I kind of want that payoff right it's like come on let's kill somebody already um I haven't seen yet but maybe it might be my new favorite show But I would say, I don't have to have a favorite Netflix show.
Starting point is 01:29:35 I watch, I like some of the originals. I can't remember because the thing with Netflix is like, you'll watch a show, you'll binge it, and you'll forget about it until it comes back. Because you don't like how this lasting relationship with it. That's part of the reason why I canceled all my subscriptions, apart from just like I got tired of paying, you know, $10 a month, like in 10 different places. I read this article that said on average, people watch 2.8 hours of television per day.
Starting point is 01:30:03 Per day. On average, right? So the article also said, if you live to be 80 years old, that means you have watched 10 years of television in your lifetime. And then I started thinking, that's a lot of freaking time. It's a lot of TV, yeah. That's 10 years of my life spent on this couch just watching TV. Like, just cancel it.
Starting point is 01:30:23 So I still watch TV, but I try not to really, I don't been watched, I have binge watch shows, you know, but now it's, I always remember that. I'm like, I could be learning, I could be getting better guitar. I could be reading a book and getting smarter. I can be just even cleaning the house. Like all that is way more infinitely productive than just binge watching, you know, don't, don't F with cats on Netflix. Dude, so I saw that while I was playing Slime Ranch. So, so, so, so, so, so what I do is, um, I, I, I watch on Netflix and I watch a lot of YouTube and stuff. but I watch a lot of like documentaries or like video essays and stuff like that because I like learning even when I'm playing something which is why like for me streaming is kind of hard sometimes because as much as I love streaming and and like I love talking with people I also like to like feel like I'm doing something semi-productive so like I'll watch a bunch of documentaries when like it's like if I don't stream it's because I'm usually
Starting point is 01:31:17 playing that same game but I'm listening to stuff in the background so I watch documentaries and that that documentary don't F with cats is crazy dude that story is wild so yes so It's a wild story. My wife, so that's another show that my wife made me watch a couple episodes, and I gave up on it because I got every up to me. I don't care about the point of view from the people who are trying to track down this dude. I don't want to give it the way of spoilers. I wanted the point of view from the guy they're chasing.
Starting point is 01:31:47 Yeah. Like, that's what I wanted to see. So once I was interested in that story, I just read Wikipedia and I was like, man, that's crazy. I don't need to watch a show anymore. It's nuts. Yeah, no. So long story short, for those who haven't.
Starting point is 01:31:58 seen don't have with cats on the internet. It's basically this dude post a video of him doing some very mean things to an animal. And these people on the internet didn't like that. So they tried to track this guy down. But like this story. So like messing with them. Yeah. The story, the story gets so crazy.
Starting point is 01:32:19 Like it's like multiple personalities and like all kinds of really nuts stuff. It's insane dude. It's so, so crazy. Just read the Wikipedia article. Yeah. I mean, yeah, I just do that. But, like, I was, I spent 1% of my year listening to the podcast. That's good.
Starting point is 01:32:33 That's actually big brain. That's a tweet. I didn't say that, but, yeah, no, so, like, I'll do that. Like, I'll listen to a lot of comedy as well on Netflix, a lot of stand-up or, like, I'll just put up a YouTube, like, playlist. You, at your desk, you always have a video playing. Yeah. I cannot do that, man. Like, and maybe that's why I like record is because I like to focus on one thing at a time.
Starting point is 01:32:57 If I'm going to watch a movie, I'm not looking at my phone. I'm not playing a video game. I'm not reading a... I'm just literally just looking at watching that movie. And when I'm at work, it's like, you know, I'm doing my job, and then I have to do that. If I have anything else going on, it distracts me. And most of the time, when I have my headphones on,
Starting point is 01:33:17 I'm listening to white noise more than music. It's like I'm not really trying to focus on two things at one. It's really hard for me. With me, I like to use music as like a... soundtrack to my life. So like, depending on my mood, I'll listen to something on that mood. So like, I'm just a kid in my life is a nightmare. I can ever get to play that now.
Starting point is 01:33:38 I like to use music as a soundtrack to my life. Well, it's true because like, so, so like for example, like, like when I was driving like Lyft and Uber, right, when I was working freelance, I would play like, you know, like if I'm driving down PCH, right, like Pacific Coast Highway. And for those who don't know, Pacific Coast Highway is literally. a highway that goes along the Pacific coast here in California. It's a highway in the Pacific coast. Yeah, believe I not.
Starting point is 01:34:03 And it's a really long stretch of nothing but beach, right? And there's like very few stop signs that you can go like 50, 60 miles an hour. So like I'll play something hard and fast. Like it can get me in that mood. I'm going down the street or, right? Maybe I drive a little bit slower. I'll listen like some indie music. So it's like I put myself in with this mindset depending on when I'm playing.
Starting point is 01:34:23 Yeah. I've never heard this long before. You have it? No. It's not good just from you it's a bad song So sometimes I you know I feel like I'm just a kid and life is a nightmare Yeah, but like you know like example listen to some hip-hop or you know like going to work I'm jump fast I
Starting point is 01:34:55 I can know that I just I just imagine just playing a hot topic How so we can never play this stuff really hot topics to well maybe not nowadays, but like when I used to go to Hot Topic, Hot Topic was like where like you don't go if you're a Normie. Like Normies aren't are allowed to Hot Topic but then they kind of, I think what people didn't realize. I always thought Hot Topic was for Normies. It's for people
Starting point is 01:35:18 who don't think they're Normies but they're turning into normies because like part of the idea of like, yeah exactly back when Hot Topics sold skateboards. Like Hot Topic used to be the store where like you would go to get like the stuff you couldn't find anywhere else and like normal people wouldn't wear right. But now it's like.
Starting point is 01:35:34 I was for posers. that's what I'm saying right but like at the same time like where else would you buy like you know these studded bracelets right like I don't know where you get them from go to the UK man like a real punk rock do you know that the the hot topic warehouse is pretty close to here oh really city of industry you should go dude we should do a nzxti hot topic club
Starting point is 01:35:52 nzX tx hot topic NZX topic NZX topic NZX topic NZX topic hot hot NZX topic yeah and the stores look nuts too like the stores are like dungeons and now they look like they almost look like with Spencers, except they don't sell dirty stuff in the back. Man, I think that's, I think it's pretty much it. We ended on that note.
Starting point is 01:36:15 Yeah, so again, guys, sorry for Amanda not being here. Again, she had pulled away in very important business. You know how it is? You know, the landscape is always changing. Yeah, always come back. But we actually have an announcement. Like, wait. Let's play some here.
Starting point is 01:36:35 Let's play some, let's see, announcement music. Let's see we got such background sound effects that we got here. upbeat background music. This sounds, give you something. I hate this already. Hi, welcome to the NZXT Clubcast. My name is Dennis, and with me today, we have Ivy.
Starting point is 01:36:58 We have a great podcast here for you today, guys. Some special announcements, so stay tuned. How is this announcement music? I don't know. This is called happy, upbeat and happy background music. The only announcement music you need is a reggae horn. We can do that too. There we go. Okay.
Starting point is 01:37:17 So I don't know how I can announce this. Is this like, hey, we're doing this thing. Or like, do we just say it? All right, guys. So you ask for it. So we're giving it to you. We're going to have another sticker contest starting today, as soon as we put the post up. This is going to be a little bit different, though.
Starting point is 01:37:36 You want to try something. So as you and guys, as everybody here knows, Ivan and I love to experiment. So we're going to do this one actually through Twitter. So the way it's going to work is you're going to submit your art using a special hashtag. And it's going to be a very specific size that we're going to request for you guys. It's going to be 1080 by 1080 square. And the reason why is for two reasons. One is we, as you guys know, we do have the NZX team, right?
Starting point is 01:38:11 NX team is a thing that we're doing here where, you know, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, uh, that's, that's, uh, that's, uh, that's, a, that's, a, a baby project that she's working on, which is kind of getting, uh, sending up like a stream team or like an affiliate program for streamers who love NZXT and kind of, you know, uphold the values that we have here. And we noticed that we don't have like an icon or a badge or an remote for them. So that's where the community comes in. We want you guys to show the NZX team some love, uh, by helping us design a, uh, uh, uh, by helping us design a a exclusive sticker for the NX team, which is why it has to be square.
Starting point is 01:38:41 And we're also going to turn that sticker, that art, into an emote so that they can use on their streams. So if you guys ever happen to check out the NZX team and you think they're cool, you can just go ahead and subscribe to them if you want and use that emote and flex on on Twitch with your NZXT clout. So yeah, pretty much it. I mean, I don't know. It's really not anything else really going to yeah it's announced uh the the the format's really going to pretty much be the same we're still going to vote through discord but we're going to allow people to post it on twitter um just for a couple reasons one you know because we want to try something different and uh you know we we think that the nzxte club doesn't just solely live on on discord right it lives everywhere right it's on
Starting point is 01:39:26 instagram it's on facebook it's on twitter so we're going to try doing a uh a twitter contest um and uh you we'll pull the ones that we like the most the ones to get the most the most the most slu likes, put them to a channel like normal. We'll do voting and like always, are going to give them away as well. So 25 people will win these exclusive stickers, five from each rank. So the higher rig that you are, the more chances you have at winning this exclusive, super cool, fancy, awesome sticker. So spam, spam, spam the chat, guys. We're going to get rid of the slow mode.
Starting point is 01:39:57 You get earned triple the XP. Nibler might win again. Maybe not. You never know. Actually, I think because you're going to be doing it through Twitter, we're going to have some more. some more interesting people post some more interesting stuff. And I think the way we're going to do it too is we definitely had to pull in the ones from Twitter into Discord.
Starting point is 01:40:15 Yeah. But we'll, I guess, I don't know how we're doing. I guess based on likes, maybe the ones with the most likes are the ones that will get picked into the ones that people can vote on. I don't know. We'll figure it out. We'll make the mods do it for us. So yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:30 So, what is this? That's not what I played. Play me what I want to look. listen to. Ellen likes me. It was this one. Whatever. Who cares? Anyway, guys, we can go ahead and end it here.
Starting point is 01:40:47 Thank you, Amanda, for joining us in the podcast. You're welcome. I'm really happy to be here. I've been thanking for joining me. You're welcome. Very happy to be here. Thank you to everybody who hung out with this today. And as always,
