Starting point is 00:00:01 Oh, and welcome to episode 28 of the NXT Clubcast, the official podcast of the NXT community. This podcast is recorded live every Thursday at 10.m. Pacific Standard Time on the official NXT Discord server and is available to stream wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts. My name is Dennis, and as always is Ivan. I'm bored already. It is going to be one of those podcasts. Today's special guest is the NZXT Club's resident power supply expert. P-SU-Guru, P-SU-U-U-W-P-U-U-U-O-B-W-N-K-O-B-W-N-K-O-B-A-W-W-E. Hey, how's it going? How's it going? How's it going? How's it going? How's it?
Starting point is 00:01:41 Your voice just changed. Yes. He pulled it, Andy, on us. He just put up his video voice. He's like, hey, how's going, everybody. Welcome to the morning radio show with NZXT. Today we're getting crazy with some power supplies. Oh, time to make them. Not boring. we're at uh ps you guy man thank you so much for making the the journey today um not just to be on
Starting point is 00:02:06 the podcast but you also are going to be participating in an nzxte focus group later oh yeah no i'm definitely looking forward to see what the focus group's all about yeah but i've never been to a focus group before so i'm not entirely sure what and this is your second time visiting nzxte but you visited our old offices um before you were the first person to actually get a poochie in real life yes um you also attended the nzxte pop or not the popup the meetup we had um yeah pop up was too close to the meetup and i was like oh man i want to make another journey to l a l a nerve wracking yeah you've been um uh integral member of this community for a while now yeah it's been keeping us bored for oh yeah i got i got to keep i got to keep it bored i first
Starting point is 00:02:53 join the server in the 15th of December of 2018. How's the time ago? How'd you join? I am. I was in the build a PC Discord server and one of the guys I would always talk to, his name is Agus.
Starting point is 00:03:09 He was like, hey, NZXC has a server. I'm like, all right, that's just another tech server for me to join and preach power supplies to. And like the first day, because like my name at the time was called the power supply guy. And I had like a have you ever seen the profile picture where it's handsome squidward and Thanos mixed together to make like a handsome fan.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Yeah, that was my profile picture. I turned that into an emo. Oh, yeah. The emo is purple guy. Purple guy. And I was actually literally called a troll in the first day because like who, because people are all like, who names themselves power supply guy? It talks about power supplies.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I'm just like, I do. It's really funny because you have a couple people who have really interesting names in the server. Like there are people who will name themselves like 20. 14 Ford F150 or something and like I don't know like and then like they just talk about Ford fifties yeah it's or like someone's name is I think I just saw recently like like like USB port or something like that is this is really weird I don't know I saw a guy on I forget which channel was called like Windows Media Center yeah just the other day I'm like okay yeah some people have
Starting point is 00:04:13 some really really funky names and I think um I think I've made fun of the fact that you're you're I think I mean I've made fun of your fascination with power supplies since the moment you stepped in the server. Yeah, I know. It's never stopped. Yeah. I was just like, why is this person so in love with power supplies? But you love power supplies. No, I just think they're just interesting and all that.
Starting point is 00:04:35 I've considered getting... I think they're neat. I think they're kind of cool. But I consider trying to go for an electrical engineering degree. Maybe it's so get more involved with them, but I'm so bad at math. And I was just like, hey, me too. I was like, I think I'll just keep it as a hobby, you know, and just work on. My dad is a retired electrical engineer.
Starting point is 00:05:00 And I think his biggest, like, failure in life is the fact that I suck at math. Seriously, he's always tried to teach me about math and science. And I just, like, never cared. I was just like, this is so boring dad. I love science, but math is never. Yeah, it's really hard, man. It's, you need a big brain. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:22 And you need big brain and I'm not big brain. And also I think you have to like be very passionate about like that subject because it's so boring. Yeah. Like I notice some people who don't like math but are like gurus at it. Like one of my, one of my close friends, he doesn't care for math at all. But like he's like a human calculator. You know. I don't care for math because I have a calculator.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Exactly. The biggest lie I was ever told in school is that you're not going to have a calculator in your pocket and I literally have a calculator in my pocket. Everyone has a calculator in the pocket. In the future, you won't have a calculator in your pocket. So you better learn this. You won't have a machine that just knows every answer
Starting point is 00:06:02 to every question that ever existed in humankind. Google would be like I'm about to end this whole man's career. Seriously, man. All right. So Mr. Power Supply, how are you doing today? How are you feeling? You excited to be here? Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good.
Starting point is 00:06:18 woke up nice and early, which is no stranger now. I got to wake up early anyway. And I was actually pretty excited to go out because I like going on long drives. Not super often, you know, but I do like the occasional long drive. And I was just vibing the whole drive here, you know. It was just a vibe here. And I enjoyed the drive. Didn't see any stupid drivers, which is always a plus.
Starting point is 00:06:43 You'll see some when you leave for sure. Oh, no, definitely. I see him every day. The parking lot is like, it's like a, it's a circus now, dude. It's like a blooper reel. Hey, at least at the parking lot, it's bigger. Yeah. Way bigger.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Oh, yeah. I remember at the original headquarters, people had to make their own parking spot. Just wait until you go outside. You're going to have to, like, we're going to have to get like a couple cars moved so you can get out of here. Yeah, we, we had to make a, uh, a, uh, at SoCal group in our Slack channel for the, for the sole purpose of telling people, hey, this car is blocking me. can you please move it and like from like 1130 to like 1 o'clock when it's lunchtime people are just constantly peeing in that channel and then about 4 o'clock to like 6 o'clock when people start leaving the office it's constant pings and you hear the bony hill music yeah i remember this one time where someone's like hey this giant truck who went into the wrong side of the of the parking lot is stuck and somebody to move their car and it's literally like this truck is on top of somebody's car
Starting point is 00:07:41 and i look at the photo i'm like oh that's my car i think that the i think the The exact quote from whoever typed that in Slack was, why is this car sniffing this truck's butt? They looked at the picture. Yeah, like your car was like just underneath it. Yeah, yeah. It was really, really weird. Wanted to know where it was made, man.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Yeah. The parking has gotten kind of kind of crazy right now. It was actually such a, it was such a topic here that during our town hall meeting, which is like we kind of talk about the entire company as a whole. and like how we're doing what we're doing going forward, stuff like that. Oh, that's breaking news. Uh-oh. Your boyfriend case is listening to the podcast, so I had to react with the clowny moat.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Always, always. Yeah, so in our tunnel hall, we have questions like, you know, what do you see the company going forward, Johnny? And it's always Johnny answers these questions. And one of the questions was the parking. It's like, hey, I don't care about all this financial stuff. Tell me about this parking situation. So that's how you know it's real.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Mr. PSU, where are you located? You said you drove down here. I live all the way towards San Bernardino County near Redlands. A little place called Yucpa. Sounds fancy. It's nice. It's like a resort, Yucypa. It's nice because there's a lot of, you know, trees, a lot of, a lot of green like you don't usually see in the cities.
Starting point is 00:09:02 I've actually had to look up your house on Google Maps for shipping rewards. Yeah. Nice house. Oh, yeah? I don't like it. No? No. It looks, it might look pretty in the front, but it's horribly designed inside.
Starting point is 00:09:12 No. It's horribly designed. Bad power supply? Yeah. What kind of power supply? as your house have? Yes. A Tesla power wall.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Uh-oh. I think he's struck a chord with that. No. All right. And this is a Mexican, like, did someone say Tesla? Yeah. And for those who don't know you, like, do you do you work? Do you go to school?
Starting point is 00:09:33 What's your current like? I go to work. I work full time at a job called Jiffy Loom. Oh, nice. Yeah. Car guy. Yes, I'm a big car guy. I like cars.
Starting point is 00:09:42 I'm trying to become a mechanic, become certified. and then work at a bigger company like Toyota or Maza or Subaru. What's your opinion on Subaru's? Since everyone here seems to have one. I really love Subis. Why is that? What is so great about Subaru's? Please tell me.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Please tell me. Because I've driven, my job requires me to drive a lot of cars. And they just drive better. They have a good balance, how the steering wheel feels. The motor inside them is really unique compared to a lot of the other. cars they have a different design and I've always liked that design boxer motor yes boxer motors I don't what that means so does that mean explain to me I don't anything about cars so you got you have it's it's it's a there most of them are four
Starting point is 00:10:27 cylinders sometimes I'm a six basically an inline motor who have their pissing straight up like this okay straight up vertical the engine will look literally like a V and then a boxer is just like where the it's just like this it's basically sideways and the interesting thing too about Subaru's is the way way they install the motor, it's actually angled down. So if you get in an accident and the engine goes into the car, it's not going to go in the car. It's going to go underneath it. Whereas in your car, the Honda, they actually put the motor on the right side.
Starting point is 00:11:01 So if you slam on the brakes and the engine goes through, it's going to kill the passenger. I swear. Well, I mean, I bought it for my safety, not for the passenger safety. Super they're super safe. They're subis are safe. They drive really nice and they just look nice. And they have a very nice interior. I like, I like, I just got a new one.
Starting point is 00:11:21 He did. It's like it's a, you went from gray to white. Yeah, but it's bigger. It's like Gandalf the grade, Garon off the white. I can't, I can't. There's three different kind of cars, model cars. Brand cars, I wonder. It's either a Toyota, a Mazda or a Subi.
Starting point is 00:11:34 And I can't really decide. Really Toyota. I like Toyota a lot. They have it in the reliability game. Toyota's last forever. They do. Yeah, especially mine. How many miles you have on yours?
Starting point is 00:11:45 It's almost at 200,000 right now. Wow. The rookie numbers. I'm almost at 100,000 on my Honda, had it since 2012. So I'm kind of like, kind of worried. But when I talk to the mechanics and stuff over like at the Honda place, they're like, oh, no, man, you know, 100,000. There's like when it starts, you know, like you're good.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I'm like, oh, okay, sure. For like the Japanese, most Japanese cars, 100,000, still baby, still youngy. Really? Okay. So young and so long as you take care of it. So saying that I shouldn't trip, right? I'm good. I'm fine. Even at 200,000 miles, so long as you've taken care of the car, the ship trip too much.
Starting point is 00:12:15 You should worry about your car, Dennis, is the license plate. I know. Someone who's messing with his license plate. Someone in his neighborhood keeps bending it. Yeah, I don't know who it is. I don't think someone in my family, but, like, I also don't know how long it's been going on because, like, you don't look at your license plates, right? It's like, I walk in the front of my car and, like, it's really bent almost in, like, a U-shape.
Starting point is 00:12:33 And I'm like, who the hell's bending? It's funny because Dennis said that he parked it really close to his garage, like, the front, so no one could get into it. And then next morning, it was still bent. Someone still did it. It's weird. You're going to put a camera out there, man. I should.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Well, we do, but we haven't placed the batteries on it. We have one of those little, like, wireless ones that hook into your Wi-Fi. It's Poochie, just running up in the middle of the anger. It's Poochie. It's Poochie mama now. Oh, I forgot to bring my two Poochies. Yeah, you said you're going to bring them. Rip.
Starting point is 00:13:01 I forgot. Rip. Oh, wow. They're listening. They're listening. They're right next to the computer and my computer. All right. So what was your first game on PC?
Starting point is 00:13:10 PC. that would probably be either a game and both of them actually no oh it was either of these two I don't remember which it was either Star Trek online when it first came out okay 2010 and
Starting point is 00:13:26 world of tanks which is a would not have guessed either of those two by the way power supply guy I believe he set the world record for longest gaming session I've ever seen dude seriously this guy's played like
Starting point is 00:13:40 to put over 24 hours straight. Oh yeah. One time, when I was young, when I was a little bit younger, like three years ago, I played Star Wars of the Old Republic, which is a free MMO game for like 36 hours straight. And I remember I clicked on your, on your Discord profile and I said, PSU guys been playing Star Wars for 30 hours. And I'm like, is that real? And I messaged them and he's like, yeah, I haven't slept, man.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Sayyoshi in chat says I did 72 hours straight on RuneScape once. Yikes. I can't imagine. Did you play for that long? Oh, man. All right. So that was your first PC game. How'd you get into PC gaming and PC hardware?
Starting point is 00:14:20 I've always been a video game guy. My first console was the PlayStation 1 when I played the, my first game was like Bugs Bunny, you know, lost in time. It's your fair PlayStation 1 game. Bug Bunny lost in time. I would say, Abe's Odyssey. I've never, it was, I was really, you know. That's a throwback. Yeah, Abe's Odyssey.
Starting point is 00:14:40 I've never completed it because I never understood the game because it was a puzzle game. I've never beaten it, but I still loved it. And then I got the PlayStation 2. My first game on there was actually a Star Wars game. I think it was Cloned Commando. No, that was for 360, I think. I don't, it was a Star Wars game. But other than that, I don't remember which game it was.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Yeah, my first PS2 game was GTA 3. GTA 3. Liberty City, baby. Oh, I definitely remember playing that. Yeah. All right, so PC hardware. You said 20, 2010, right? PC hardware was actually around, what, four or five years ago, I think.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Oh, really? Yeah, I was thinking about, it was around the time where like, okay, I started really getting into PC gaming. And at the time, I had, my computer had, was an old AMD one. It had integrated graphics and it was weak. So I was like, all right, I need a new graphics card. And my best friend got a graphics card. Like, hey, man, this graphics card's great.
Starting point is 00:15:38 so for Christmas I got that graphics card and it was like I was blown away yeah the performance jump was I get a difference right yeah it kind of you know it went uh is what was the term it just went it just went from there right honestly and just took off right yeah it just took it just took off um I made my first list on PC part picker I have it somewhere I don't I had to do a lot of certain digging for it right but it had it was like an I five 6,600K with like with Hyper 212 and some MSI motherboard. You know, people talk smack on the Hyper 212. I think it's a perfectly good cooler.
Starting point is 00:16:19 I had one. I had multiple of them in multiple builds. Yeah, it's one of the popular cooler. Yeah. Yeah, well, the problem with 212 now is just one, objectively it looks ugly. And two, it's a little bit more difficult to mount in the competition, you know. Fun fact, power supply guy is very anti-liquid cooling. Really?
Starting point is 00:16:36 So I'm not anti-liquid cooling. I don't like it for me personally. Because... Being anti-liquid cooling... Water sucks. It's saying that no one should get it. Dennis, pour some water on his head, please. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Come right up. All right. So you're saying? Okay. Because there's always that risk that it will leak. There's always that. And then that I don't trust that. I've seen what happened to...
Starting point is 00:17:06 Mech with his AIO leak on him and killed a lot of his components since the name mexter leaker. Never forget. And they don't match my aesthetic. I like a more robust industrial-esque aesthetic and AIOs fit that more elegant look in the category rather than robust.
Starting point is 00:17:29 That isn't to say I hate the NZXT Crackens. They look cool but just not my aesthetic for what I want. Backed by an industry leading six-year warranty. That covers all leaks and damage to PC-Hundice. That's what I like about NZT's warranty. If it leaks, you're covered. Our warranty is so good. I even helped out MEC when his other cooler messed up, you know.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Because he told me that the company, I won't say their name, but the company that made his cooler. They made his cooler. It wasn't helping him out whatsoever with like anything. And he had like a really big gaming tournament coming up. So I was just like, you know what? That's messed up. And it was like, I had some extra parts at a time.
Starting point is 00:18:13 So I was more than happy to help them. For my personal build, I don't use liquid coolers. But like when I'm building other PCs, I'll recommend them just fine if they want that aesthetic. You know, if it matches their, it's like, their aesthetic is I'll be like, okay, I'll throw in an AIO. I recently put in an X-42, the 140-mill cracking and a PC build. And it looked, it turned up pretty good. I liked it. I used an NZXT KSD H510 Elite,
Starting point is 00:18:40 the one with the full tempered glasses. Never heard of it. Yeah, I'm talking about. Listen, man, you sent an NDA and you promise not to leak anything. How dare you leak the 510 Elite? So what if we took a crack in Z and then we put a picture of a power supply on there? Would you want it then? No.
Starting point is 00:19:00 You did see the new crack in Z and Mike PC. What did you think? I liked it. I like the little Sonic thing you got on there. If I had it on there, it'd be something stupid as well, Mimi. I got to show you. I have a bunch of Star Wars gifts. I got to show you.
Starting point is 00:19:16 I have that Star Blueprint. Oh, yeah. It looks really cool. Yeah. It fits really cool. There's a lot that we can do with that. I'm really interested to see going forward what people do with their crack and zes in terms of like kind of integrating the gifts and like the color profiles and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:19:34 It was actually an idea that Johnny gave us because we were just going to shoot like a simple video for the Cracken. And Johnny's like, hey, dummies. We have Cam and all these fans on all these RGB strips. Why don't you sync them up? We're like, oh, yeah, huh? I forgot that's like a whole thing. So that was the inspiration for the, the Cracken Z, what do you call it, the contest that we're running right now with the gifts. Where, like, you know, like a green color profile for like Shrek and like, you know, blue for blue and yellow for Ninja and things like that.
Starting point is 00:20:02 So, yeah, maybe we'll one day turn you into an AIO enthusiast and you can be the AIO guy. Actually, at home, I have an air cooler. I don't have a Krakken. I have an air cooler in my personal PC. It's the old Cryorik H7. See, I have a Cryorik R1 Ultimate that actually cooled my PC better than a Krakken. It's like the biggest air cooler I think ever made. Well, and now it's like I want, I kind of want the NHD 15 by 9.
Starting point is 00:20:32 because that's a big cooler but the thing is I want Dominator platinum RAM you know and it's just that fans in the way so I'm just like you know I'll just get the single tower version of that I love air cooler air coolers are good I like the look they have especially if you're trying to achieve a specific look it's not explain to me why ram is so huge now like why is it so big why is such a pain in the butt I don't I don't know I think you'd have to ask our you know our person who lives in hardware. Aidan, he's into that. Yeah, Aidan, answer that question for me.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Why, cooling blades? Yeah, it probably has to do with cooling. Does Ram normally get that hot? Yeah, depends. I guess the RAM. We'll have to have the RAM guy on here. Because this was, I read this a while ago. I don't know if it's relevant now.
Starting point is 00:21:23 They don't need it. It's just there for aesthetic. Aesthetics, you say. Yeah, that's what, that's what was a while ago for it. They could have been wrong or changed since. I know all about aesthetics. All right. So now is the time to ask you the real question that everybody here wants to know.
Starting point is 00:21:40 What soda are you drinking? Yeah, what soda are you drinking? Coca-Cola. You brought the biggest drug of soda ever seen in my life. It's one and a half liters. You drink that every day? Only on my days off. Why on your days off?
Starting point is 00:21:55 Because I'm trying to cut back on soda a little bit. I mean, this is almost like two years. I posted a picture of the jug in chat. It's literally bigger than my head. It's a big gulp. Welcome to America, folks. Big gold, boys. It's like the same size that they pour on the coach after you win the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:22:14 This thing was like five bucks, by the way. Do you go to 7-Eleven, fill it up? Yeah, 99 cents. Because 99 cents to fill it up? Really? Yeah. So it's cheap, dude. Soda is not expensive at all.
Starting point is 00:22:23 It's dirt cheap. Yeah, it's like syrup that goes a long way and then it's carbonated water. How much is a two-liter? To get it refrigerated, it's like $2.49. And how big is this? This is 1.5 liters. Okay. That's a lot of soda, man.
Starting point is 00:22:39 It's a lot of soda. You should definitely cut back. I have cut back a lot. I only drink these on weekends. My days off. And then other times, I usually just drink either a lot less soda or water or strawberry lemonade. I actually want to get one of those just for water.
Starting point is 00:22:54 To be like one of those dudes walking around with the giant jugs of water everywhere. Sometimes I just fill this up. Fun sometimes I just I do just fill this up with water and take it into work. How easy is that thing to clean? Saying it? Oh, it's actually pretty easy. If you get one of those straw cleaners, you can easily clean in there. All you need is a little sponge or towel and wipe it off. All right.
Starting point is 00:23:14 It's not hard. All right, guys. Thanks for joining us on the Big Gulp cast. Next year we're going to talk about the Wawa version of the Big Gulp. There's a bigger version of this. Is it? Yeah, no, it's like three liters. I wanted to get it.
Starting point is 00:23:27 That's way too much. But all the construction workers that are working on a road bought it out one day. Yeah, and it was $10 too. And I'm like, hey, when is this coming back? And they're like, I don't know. It's funny because construction workers are like simultaneously the fattest, but the most fit guys I've ever seen. Like they have these big bellies, but they have these giant arms.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Yeah, they got a gut, but they got all that muscle string, you know? That's funny because my dad used to be, he used to work in construction, actually, when he first came here. And so, like, he saw these, like, giant arms that he's rocking out, but he's got this big whole belly. Because, you know, he's been working in an office for, like, almost like 30 years now. So it's really funny to see like that. Yeah, you know, I used to work out. And then, like, the rest of him was like, not anymore.
Starting point is 00:24:12 The juice belly. Yeah. The poochie juice belly. Yeah. All right. Why power supplies? So why do the power supply guy? What is so possibly interesting about what could be considered?
Starting point is 00:24:26 are the most boring, so boring that we actually hide it in our cases. Hi, I'm my head out now. All right. Oh, well, so it's all stemmed when on my first parts list. Yeah, right. It's all stemmed on my first parts list where the first PSU I've chosen was this one by EVGA, G1 Next. And I was told, that's not a good unit.
Starting point is 00:24:45 I'm like, for the reviews say it is. Like, that's like an ancient review that doesn't test anything, all that stuff. And he went into an elaborate reason. I kind of just got hooked from there for some reason. You know, I don't know why something just kind of flipped, and I just kind of started looking at reviews and all that. And then about a year and a half ago, maybe almost two years, I met this one guy called Stefan Payne, who worked at Be Quiet,
Starting point is 00:25:10 but he was really smart with power supplies. Still way surpasses even me. And then... And then I went... Then this other guy called Awesome Gamer who was getting an electrical engineering degree is minor. Uh-huh. And he was kind of tell, I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I found it so interesting. Uh-huh. Go on. Sorry. You were saying. I want to go to bed now. Do you like, do you even like power supplies for being the personal supply guy? I feel like you hate every single power supply.
Starting point is 00:25:50 I'm just critical about them. Uh, because I have very strenuous standards. on a power supply. Like the NXC power supply, it's good, you know. It's certainly not bad. You know, some Casonic power supplies out there, a lot are bad, a lot are decent, you know. Coursera has a lot of great ones.
Starting point is 00:26:14 You know, it's all based on. We actually changed the power supply we include in the starter PC because of you. Oh, yeah? Yeah, because remember we launched the starter PC, and you messaged me like that, you're like why are you including that power supply it sucks and I'm like I don't know I have but I messaged the build guys and then I told them and then they changed it like a little while later yeah I think it's the up I think what you had originally was like the S12 12 12 12 I have no idea they're all the same you know like literally every power supply is just the same thing to me I've gotten definitely more lax on power supplies you know
Starting point is 00:26:52 can't call you the piece you can oh oh oh I've gotten more I mean, I still talk about them. I still talk to my fellow power supply enthusiasts about him. Oh, but I'm not like. There are literally dozens of us. I'm not like on it anymore, you know, because I can bring a sense of, sometimes I can bring a sense of toxicity. And I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Right. I mean, you know, there's always, there's never thing wrong with having like your preferences, right? But there's like a certain like, and this goes with anyone who's like the whatever guy in like any group. right in like any community they're like at a at a certain point just kind of being rude you know and like you can tell someone hey that power supply may not be the best or that whatever may not be the best let me tell you why but like we've had people will be like this is trash your build is
Starting point is 00:27:40 trash how dare you build this you might have sold be taking a dump on your computer because that's what you're doing right now this who has a power supply what before I joined the nzixu server I was immediately a little bit like that because that's just how when when You were one of those people that would help a lot of people with their lists. And they had that toxic environment. You kind of grew accustomed to that. And then I joined the NZXU server and all that. And then I don't know, man, the server changes you.
Starting point is 00:28:10 It does. It's just the community is just so good. I like to tell people PC hardware is like pizza toppings. They're all good. Just order what you want. Shut up. Eat your pizza. You know.
Starting point is 00:28:21 They're all good. They're all good. I tell them, hey, this power supply is bad. because it doesn't have this protection, which makes it bad, which puts that as a risk. I kind of, now I label power supplies.
Starting point is 00:28:33 I compare it to insurance now. So, right? You know, you pay, you know. Insurance. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:40 So, that's what I. From one, from one boring topic to another. It's like insurance. I know, insurance is super boring, but like,
Starting point is 00:28:53 you know, you can get this one power supply. And it's not good in this category. It's missing this and this and that. And basically you're paying this much for poor insurance. It'll work, you know, in my work for 12 years. Okay, rate my insurance. I have GEICO.
Starting point is 00:29:12 I use AAA. I'm sorry. I don't know. Insurance is a contract that transfers their risk of financial loss from an individual or business to an insurance company. The company collects small amounts of money from its clients and pulls up money together to pay for losses. In before the insurance guy joins the server.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Wait a minute. Let me tell you about the best possible insurance you can get. But like what I'm saying is, it might basically it's kind of like insurance or insurance, however you want to call it. You can buy a bad power supply. And it might work perfectly for 10 years until it doesn't. Well, it's like anything, right?
Starting point is 00:29:43 No, but these shoes are great until they're no longer great. So now you need to buy new shoes. But the risk with power supplies is that it could take out your hardware. And their warranty won't cover broken hardware. Unless. You have an industry leading. Actually, I have no idea for it. I don't know if NZC, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:02 The power supplies aren't particular. I don't know if NZX has it. Yeah. But most companies I've seen don't have it. Maybe Corsair might help you out on occasion. I've seen that. But EVGA doesn't see Sonic gives you a hard time about it. How would you test for that?
Starting point is 00:30:18 Like, if you think your powers supply broke like one of your components, like how would you test for that? It's. It's got to be hard, right? It's hard. Yeah. It is hard. It is hard, but it can definitely happen. I've seen it happen even though you say it even though like, oh, but you're looking for it.
Starting point is 00:30:33 I see it happen. I see people in the server. They say it happen from other servers and all that. I've had it happen to me. Though, mine was kind of, you know, I just put a pie-in graphics card that I got for free. And it blew the power supply and killed the motherboard I have. That's your fault, man. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:30:53 It sounds like a personal problem. But it can't happen. Did you see on our suburbate the other day, some guy took our power supply, open it up and put a noctua fan in it. What's your opinion on that? A knocktow fan is great. I mean, why would you want to put there in a power supply? Better cooling.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Do you guys really get that hot? They can, definitely. That's why, like, you know those bronze efficient. There's bronze efficiency, silver, and all that stuff. What's the difference? So efficiency. Okay. Which means how much power, it pulls, it's more efficient.
Starting point is 00:31:24 So if you have a 500 watt power supply It's pulling 350 watts Pull 350 watts from the wall While only can while the power supply itself only needs like 250 But you know it's kind of like it's like that and that efficiency you can also generate more heat within the power supply So in bronze units can be louder and that's why if they don't have a temperature protection on those units I kind of like Because they can't overheat and they can melt themselves to death
Starting point is 00:31:54 I have a no idea of confirming any of this. Reason to pretend that like you know what you're talking about. Yeah, right. You know, yeah, okay, okay. All right, so would you say that you're a expert in power supplies? A guru, if you will. I would say I'm just an interested in hobbies. How confident are you?
Starting point is 00:32:17 Not as, I'm not the caliber at lie as Stefan or as the awesome gamer, is those two guys who really look into it. Right, right. But I'm still, there's still a lot to learn, like, the actual electrical aspect. I'm not so sure about. Well, surprise. We actually have a tester knowledge of ATX power supplies quiz here. That we're going to quiz you on.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Cue the Jeopardy music. And we're going to give you a, maybe score at the end. We'll find out how much you really know. I think I know a decent amount, you know. We'll find out. We'll find out. Okay, hold up. You got this for a second.
Starting point is 00:32:56 I'll do this once it loads up. All right, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to test your knowledge of ATX power supply, starring PSU Guru. Is he the expert he claims to be or is he a fraud? Time to expose him live. I'm so happy with this right now. Okay. I claim to be an expert. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:33:25 The yellow vower, so this is a multiple choice. Okay. Question one. Yellow wires provide plus 5 volts plus 3.3 volts plus 12 volts minus 12 volts or power good signals. What does the yellow wire provide on a power supply? I never looked into the wires on those. Take a guess. plus 5 plus 3.3 volts, plus 12 volts, or minus 12 volts?
Starting point is 00:33:57 And you guys can play along in the chat as well. It might be the 5. It might be the 5 volts. Plus 12. Plus 12? Oh, I thought those were black. Next question. The brown wires for plus 5 volt standby, minus 5 volts, ground, plus 3.3 volts, or power on.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Get a guess. guess one uh five volt standby I think I have never looked into wires or diagrams okay okay nope it's plus 3.3 v cents you guys literally shaking right now shaking his boots like oh no oh no I never looked into them I know what those the actual volts are okay sure or false a 1,000 watt power supply will burn out a system currently using 300 watt PSU oh if it has protections it wouldn't no Correct. A power supply will only provide as much power as needed. All right. Red wires provide plus 3.3 volts, plus 5 volts, plus 5 volts standby, plus 12 volts, or power on.
Starting point is 00:35:12 I'm going to take a guess, five volts standby. Five volts standby? It's the just regular plus 5 volts. Some of these are kind of, the six-pin ox connector provides. plus 3.3 volts, plus 3.3 volts, and plus 5, plus 5 and plus 12, or plus 12? Yes. All right. Reason to go plus 5 and plus 12. I guess plus 5 plus 12.
Starting point is 00:35:41 It's taking a while to load. This is a weird, weird website. The music already ended. Whoops. It's not loading. This is like electrical. I actually posted a gif of you shaking. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:35:55 I'm thinking. Oh, he's a. Okay, so the website stopped working. Even the website got bored. All right. Gabby, I had some more here, but it's not working. You literally got every question wrong. No, no, he got the true and false.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Yeah, I know more about some of the more. I don't know the wires. that part is genuinely boring to me you know but like the internal components some designs of power supplies I like more into than actual wires literally the whole thing is wires though yeah not all power supplies use wires internally just there are other stuff in there yeah cables yeah cables let's see there's another one another quiz I can find here because that one just straight up broke for me I haven't you any questions for PCU Guru.
Starting point is 00:36:53 What's the difference between gold 80 plus and a bronze 80 plus? Literally just efficiency. Like how efficient it is pulling from the wall and converting the power. I don't know that's right or wrong, but I'll take it. That's all it is. Okay, here's a good question. What's the best power supply out there right now? If I wanted to buy the best of the best power supply, what would it be and why?
Starting point is 00:37:21 The best consumer power supply is the Corsair AX-1600 I, which... Because... Highest end components, best electrical performance. Why in the world would anyone need a 1,600-watt power supply? Mining, flex. There's a lot. Flexing with the power supply. I mean, that's the other enthusiasts, sure.
Starting point is 00:37:45 I mean, I bought an AX-600i. I have that in my own system, and the fan has yet to turn on. Yeah. And you are flexing. Yeah, I mean, people who know power supply is like, are you, were you stupid enough to buy that? That seems like over killing me. I paid 350 for it. Wow.
Starting point is 00:38:02 350. What's so good about it? Everything. Which means. So all the internal components in there are very high quality. The design is really, really good. It's got a good fan. It has a lot of cables.
Starting point is 00:38:17 It's virtually silent. Right. and has excellent internal protections and excellent electrical performance, which isn't always as important as people. How much wattage is your computer using? Like 20 watts. After undervolting, probably 400 at most.
Starting point is 00:38:39 So you have a power supply that's four times what you need. I didn't buy it for the watch. I bought it because it was the best. That's really. point. That's really the only reason. I bought it because I could. Is it true that most computers only need like 500 watts? Majority of computers out there will be fine with a 550 per unit. What would it make you want to upgrade to a bigger power supply? If it was a better power supply than what I had? Oh, are you talking about in general? Yes, in general, yeah. Oh, well,
Starting point is 00:39:11 so if you're going from like, say like a 1060 to a 2080, or if you're going to have more power draw than your power supply I can handle. Right. If your power supply is out of warranty, if it's too loud and you want a quieter one. There's a multitude of reasons. If it's bad and you discover, oh, hey, this is bad, I should probably replace it, you know. There's a multitude of reasons. It varies for a situation.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Right. What do you think about the new NZKTC series? I was told by Jim, it's more or less the same as the E series. same it's the same platform but without monitoring and barring some other minor internal changes but basically the same as a E-series which is good or bad would you recommend it to someone who's looking to buy PC
Starting point is 00:40:02 be honest you can say no it's all right yeah I would say I would say if it was out a good price and yes because it is better than the platform it's based on because C-Sonic messed up with their protections if you for some reason overload it Which there's a lot of people out there. There's a lot of those powers players there. There is a chance.
Starting point is 00:40:22 Or there's some bizarre situations that can't happen. It'll fry your GP because of how bad it is. But with the NZXT. Hold on C-Sonic is calling. Put them on the phone. I'll yell at them. Dang. I'll yell at them.
Starting point is 00:40:43 Poor C-Sonic crap. I yell at them all the time on Instagram. Tell me how you really feel. but the E-series is a good is a good power supply I'd say it's a good power supply I'd recommend it if it was at a competitive price do you like the little switch on the C series that makes it silent oh Ecomona yeah I mean if you care about silence then that's a good option um I have what do you call it titanus or tinnitus I had a yeah I have I have pretty gnarly for me so I actually cannot stand silence yeah I always have to have some background noise that's why I always I have my Vega cards they're
Starting point is 00:41:18 blower cards because they're loud. And I have that set to like 4,000 RPM so there's something failing up the noise. You also listen to it like really loud heavy metal music all day? Mostly in my truck. It's mostly when I drive. When I'm in a game,
Starting point is 00:41:34 sometimes I'll have it on low. But most of the time it's just when I'm in my truck or I'm taking a shower and a blast my Bluetooth speaker and the whole house. Yeah. That's I do it too. I got a Bluetooth in the shower. So listen on my city girls and all my Kanye's it's the best. All right.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Let's get some questions here because none of these websites are loading correctly for me. Oh, where my pins go? Did they break? You had like no internet? I don't know. Discord's been weird for the past like weekend and a half or something. Did you update it? I did update it.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Well, no, because I'm using the web app on this thing. You remember. You remember. All right. From Trouble, PSU. You a big fan of Star Wars or? I am probably. one of the biggest Star Wars nerds you ever meet.
Starting point is 00:42:21 You do have a Star Wars server, right? I have a Star Wars, like, little roleplay server where it's based on this role play server, very dialogue-heavy, kind of loosely inspired from D&D, but very focused on character development and story. Scheduling's difficult because everyone has live, so I have only gotten like two sessions in, but I have a lot of ideas for it.
Starting point is 00:42:45 It is a cool idea, actually. Wait, the biggest Star Wars fan you say? One of them. Let's one of them that you will ever meet on the average daily days. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Star Wars fan. Are you the ultimate Star Wars fan featuring PC Guru? All right, question number one, in the Force Awakens, which character has Darth Vader's damaged mask?
Starting point is 00:43:05 Kylo Ren. Let me double check. Yeah, you got that one right. How did Princess Leia get her title of royalty? She was born onto Alderon. I never actually looked at that into that part. I don't know if it was said in the series, but she was born into royalty on Alderman.
Starting point is 00:43:26 That's all I know. She was adopted of, I can pronounce these names Beal Organa. Oh, Beal Organa, okay. And Queen Brejha. I'm assuming he pronounced it. All right, while the Jedi use a number of crystal colors for their lightsaber, is what color is preferred by the Sith?
Starting point is 00:43:42 Red. Correct. Who destroyed the droid control ship when they accidentally activated a Nabu fighter's autopilot. Who accidentally destroyed the droid? That's from Revenge of the Sith. That's been a while. Let's not watch that.
Starting point is 00:43:56 The droid control ship. Who destroyed? Who destroyed the droid control ship when they accidentally activated a Naboo Fighters autopilot? Is it Biggs Darklighter, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Jar Jar Jor Binx?
Starting point is 00:44:10 I think it was Anikin. Correct. Where does Yoda live when he first trains Luke Skywalker. DeGoba. Correct. While fighting his own father in the Cloud City, which hand does Luke Skywalker lose?
Starting point is 00:44:25 I believe. Left or right? Right. Correct. Who defeats Finn in his very first lightsaber duel? Darth Mal, Darth Vader, Karak Vett, or Kylo Ren? Repeat that one?
Starting point is 00:44:41 Who defeats Finn in his very first lightsaber duel? Darth Mal, Darth Vader, Kyler Wren, or Karok Vent. Finn? Yeah. He was never had a Lifesaver duel. Yes, he was. I guess he was.
Starting point is 00:44:56 I guess it would have been... Some Finn, you are! Well, I don't like the new trilogy. Yeah, I don't either. Why don't you like the new trilogy? Let's talk about that for a minute. So, I don't like the poor character development
Starting point is 00:45:10 that has been put in place. Ray is a big, Mary Sue. Maybe not as big as a Mary Sue some people are claiming her to be, but definitely in the first and second one, she's a pretty big Mary Sue, all knowing in the four somehow. I guess her power could be explained in the rise of Skywalker, but she had no training yet can hold her own in a lightsaber battle, knew these force tricks that with no training, you know, no idea what it meant to be a Jedi despite Yoda saying, oh, she has all the knowledge of the Jedi. I'm just all like, what? I'm like, what? Yeah, well, I actually have a theory as to why the new Star Wars is as good. Here we go. I have a theory time.
Starting point is 00:45:56 It's because... Big brain time. It doesn't need to be. And I'll tell you why. Because the new Star Wars... It's kind of like all these comic book movies, right? All these Marvel movies, DC movies. They're all commercials.
Starting point is 00:46:12 They're all two-hour-long commercials for... Disneyland, T-shirts, you know, lightsabers. All these, like, merchandise. It's basically just a commercial that you take your kids to see. So then your kids can bug you to buy all this stuff. Whereas the original trilogy, it was created when none of that existed. So it was actually, like, very well written, very well shot, great character development, all that stuff. And now it's, it doesn't need to be like, you can, they can come out with, like, any Star Wars movie and it's going to make a billion dollars.
Starting point is 00:46:43 Like, it doesn't have to be good. My counter to that is, that does make sense, but it's still not an excuse for bad story and bad character writing because look at Marvel's Infinity War where it was a great movie. I didn't watch it. It was Infinity War, end game. It was sick. A lot of the Marvel movies, you know, were really good, you know.
Starting point is 00:47:06 I'm sick of all the Marvel movies, all the Star Wars movies. There's so many. I like Marvel, but there's so many. I just don't care about any of these. You know, but it was, even if it is a two, three hour long commercial, at least they were really good. You know, trilogy had a lot of disappointments in the story and character aspect. They brought a lot of cool stuff.
Starting point is 00:47:24 The reason I know it's a commercial is because Marvel was actually going out of business in the late 90s. And Stan Lee, the genius that he was went to Sony and told them, I'll give you all the rights to all my characters to make movies. if you just let me keep the rights for everything else. And they said, sure. And Stanley did that because he wanted them to make these three-hour commercials for him so he can sell more comic books, you know, lunchboxes, et cetera. Like, and these movies, they don't have to be good.
Starting point is 00:48:00 They're going to make a ton of money. So I agree with you. They're horrible. But at the end of the day, people are still going to wait in line to see them and pay $20. And that's the... sad part about it. People will still go see it. And there's nothing we can do to change it.
Starting point is 00:48:15 We can only just gripe it wrong. Maybe, just maybe Disney will change it up. Just maybe. There's always that sliver. Have you gone to the Star Wars thing at Disneyland yet? I want to bring a couple of my buddies to go over there. Super cool. I actually want to buy or build a lightsaber.
Starting point is 00:48:33 They're like $500, right? $200. Yeah. I'll scound some. Or so I've heard, you know, I've heard for some people that they're $200. I think they range from like 150 to 350 depending on what you get. Oh, they like very.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Okay, okay. So the varying costs. That's weird. Ellen wants to know who shot first. It depends on which version. In the remastered version, I believe it was solo that shot first. No, no, this original one solo shot first. Right.
Starting point is 00:49:05 And then remastered, it was Grito. I don't know why they changed it. it. George Lucas has this habit of changing up the new hope a little bit, adding like extra stuff or removing certain stuff. For no reason. Yeah, no reason. It's kind of annoying.
Starting point is 00:49:19 Trouble wants to know PSU, how has your experience as a moderator been? I loved it. Time to call everybody out. I loved it. It was great working with the team and helping with the server, you know, just. Hold on that server real quick. Alan wants to know who shot first in your heart. Who do you want to have shot first?
Starting point is 00:49:37 Solo. Same here. So why? Because he's Han Solo, man. You don't really need a reason for that. He's an awesome character. You know, he's that swashbuckler, you know, smuggler, you know, smuggler that you just... He's a good guy and a bad guy, right?
Starting point is 00:49:53 Yeah, that's kind of what smugglers are. Here's some Star Wars trivia for you. Who made the masks in the canina scene? The mask? Yeah, like all the... There's like a lot of weird... If you look at that scene, there's a bunch of weird characters that you never see... I don't know who made them.
Starting point is 00:50:08 I didn't look into the I don't look at the It's a famous Monster Movie makeup guy Rick Baker I think you already talked about this once Before in the podcast
Starting point is 00:50:19 Episode four For those that are interesting Yeah Listen back for full context Yeah That's like it's like weird Like there's like a devil There's like all these like weird
Starting point is 00:50:29 looking like monsters in that scene Yeah Alan says they're all They're all laying around in a storage Yeah Yeah so going back How was your experience as a moderator? I loved it.
Starting point is 00:50:39 I hope one day I can experience that once again. You know, it was just such a prideful and enjoyable moment for me to be a moderator for NZXT. Help everyone, guide, keep the server, you know. What was it like being an apprentice? I still liked it. Yeah. I still liked it. You know, it's just that prideful feeling you get when you're, you know, you are in a community.
Starting point is 00:51:02 You love so much and you're now helping to foster it and, you know, guide it. into a good direction, you know, prevent people from getting warned and all that good stuff. Imagine not getting warned? Imagine. Imagine. That'll never happen. Yeah, no.
Starting point is 00:51:21 There's always a day. Yeah. That's my default. Everything. It's like, oh, you want this thing, make it so people don't get warned bander muted for 30 days. It's a great, it's a great thing that Alan you know that. You don't want anyone to get warned for rules. Just remove all the rules.
Starting point is 00:51:34 It's true. You don't need rules. What are the rules on your Star Wars server? there's the actual game rules or just the server rules? You know, don't break TOS even though we're not a partner server
Starting point is 00:51:50 is still not okay don't talk about pirating stuff you know I downloaded all the Star Wars from the Pirate Bay you what? I actually did once because I wanted like
Starting point is 00:52:03 the least tampered with versions because there's like different versions of them that ripped on the internet throwing out there I didn't I paid like because my daughter I don't know why my daughter
Starting point is 00:52:15 she turns two this month and she's like fascinated to Star Wars I literally They got to her dude I bought like They got to her I probably spent like
Starting point is 00:52:23 $200 on Star Wars movies Yeah because she wanted to You know She didn't want it But I'd be wanting to like show her So I bought her like
Starting point is 00:52:32 All these movies And they're freaking expensive On Amazon Yeah Expensive Yeah But that's my way of making up for actually a bit torrenting them in the past. I mean, you can also just subscribe to Disney Plus for like a month.
Starting point is 00:52:46 Yeah. It's like seven bucks and you get all the Star Wars movies. Yeah. Too lazy. Yeah. Too much work. All right. Next question is PSU, can you buy a worn removal in the DMs?
Starting point is 00:53:00 If so, what's the price? Oh, what? A warrant removal. Why is asking me? I don't know. What would the price be? If we were to sell Warren removals, how much would they be?
Starting point is 00:53:13 Proof that you deserve it. Like an essay. Why you think you should. Some things can be... We're too low price. Things can be bought here. Things can be bought with money. I disagree.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Like power supplies. She's giving them out for free. Carl wants to know. P.C. are you excited? Please, please, please talk about bass. What about bass? Tell me all about the bass guitar. So in metal or rock, the bass is neglected a lot.
Starting point is 00:53:42 And I just always like the bass guitar. I like the sound. It's underrated. But when some bands bring it out more, it just sounds great. Who's the best base player? My best base player was, that's kind of subjective. I would say my favorite bass players are Steve Harris, which is the bassist for Iron Maiden. I like the flea.
Starting point is 00:54:05 He's awesome. Primus is really good bassist. Yeah, Flea, man. That guy, I have no idea how he makes those noises. He's crazy, man. He's crazy. And I hate the red of chili peppers. I don't like that band at all.
Starting point is 00:54:20 I don't like that. I just don't like him. I just, like, their lyrics. I just, I don't like the music, but the bass. Yeah. I like the bass because that guy can. Cliff Burton. He died, but Cliff Burton was really good.
Starting point is 00:54:35 There we go. slaps. Quite literally. We should have had a bass off with PCU guy and Andy. I don't know how to play bass yet. You just like the bass. It's easy, just four strings. Right.
Starting point is 00:54:50 But I'm planning on getting a base hopefully soon so I can start practicing. What kind of power supply in that base? Yes. Good answer. Dark X minds. What's the best PSU and why is it my thermal take 600 watt gigabyte? 600 watt RGBB. it's not that and it's of course
Starting point is 00:55:08 a x600 how do you feel about rgb and power supplies if i don't care so long this is a good power supply what's the point of having rgb in a power supply i guess if you want the under your underside of the uh pc to glow and rgb
Starting point is 00:55:22 or your power supplies exposed sounds of the job for an underglow kit right you know it's a niche thing um just like power supplies you guess uh trouble wants to know PSU, who would you share your Twix with?
Starting point is 00:55:40 Who would I share my Twix with? Yes. You get two Twix per package. Who would you share it with? And why? I guess whoever's just hanging out with me, I guess. You hear that, folks. Hang out with them all the time.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Give me your twigs. You might get a Twix. What's your favorite Jedi and Sith Lord? So who are your favorite Jedi and who's your favorite Sith Lord? Um, my favorite Jedi. I read, I would say Obi-Wan Kenobi. Okay. He's my favorite Jedi and my favorite Sith Lord is definitely Darth Vader.
Starting point is 00:56:15 Um, why? There's so much. I mean, they're kind of the same people, but at the same time, they're kind of kind of sound people. But anyway, like, there's so much behind Darth Vader. Like, there's a lot of comics that've come out that really, really make him interesting. Like, he wasn't just a mindless. dark side he was a person of immense suffering you know he he suffered he lost literally everyone
Starting point is 00:56:41 he's ever cared about and for good like solid 15 years or something like that he had no will to live until lou until he found out he had a son um he actually tried he didn't care he didn't care about his daughter he didn't know he did not know he had a daughter until the very end until his death well didn't know um in one of the comics he didn't he's actually tried to kill himself once because he had nothing to live for, but he failed to do that. And for like 10, 15 years,
Starting point is 00:57:12 he served with no will live and just out of hatred and all that kind of stuff until he found out of a Luke Skywalker and since Darth Vader felt like it was impossible for him to return to the light side, he would instead bring his son over to dark where he would rule the galaxy
Starting point is 00:57:27 together his father and son. But obviously in the end, Luke ends up turning him over to the light side in which he is, redeemed and brings balance of the force. What do you think about the extended universe? Spoiler alert. Spoiler alert.
Starting point is 00:57:41 Yeah, because like for me, I feel like if it's not in the movies, I kind of like don't consider it canon. Extended universe kind of makes things more interesting and expands upon the canon and modifies some aspects of canon that's better in my opinion. So before the new trilogy came out, right. Um, after the fall of the empire, um, it talked about the grand admiral throng, which is a, the last grand admiral of the empire. Right.
Starting point is 00:58:11 Before, because the new republic, since it's no longer the rebellion, they formed the new republic, thought they got all of them. Right. Um, it was an, I'm reading an audio book about it. He's such a cool character. Such a cool character. And after that, after many years, Luke becomes a grandmaster. informs the new Jedi order, you know, instead of, uh, there's Ben Solo who never became Kalo Ren, then you have Jason Solo who became Darth Kedis who was more powerful than Palpatine.
Starting point is 00:58:44 Right. Um, and then you had, I think, uh, before then, the Yushin Vong War. We should have a Star Wars podcast, I think. You know, there's, there's, it's. So, okay, so, so he's the thing of me, right? I think that if you're, say, you're like a fantasy. the Marvel movies, right? There's comic books that came before him, right?
Starting point is 00:59:04 And I feel like whatever happens in the movies, in my opinion, is in canon. It's just a cool kind of side story that someone's taken the dude. You guys realize none of this is real, right? Do you guys know that? It's not real. Don't lie to me like that.
Starting point is 00:59:15 Don't lie to me like that. Don't break my heart like that. He cares about canon and all that. But what I'm saying, though, is that, right? You should go with the original source as what is canon. Once again, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:59:29 if it's canon doesn't matter if it's good people are going to watch it it's going to make money it's a commercial my best friend was actually making a good point the point of these of the movies is so movies and comics can come out to further expand upon it as well so they don't touch everything because they know the comics and the movies that will come out of on tv shows they'll come out of them will just elaborate that part of it like think of it this way um i'm i'm hoping you watch the prequels. Okay, so we didn't like Anakin at first. You know, we thought he was just a whiny boy.
Starting point is 01:00:05 He was better in Revenge of the Sith. Because he was a whiny boy. Yeah, because George Lucas. Then the Clone Wars animated film came out and expanded upon the between episodes, after episodes one and two. But it's not canon. It is.
Starting point is 01:00:20 That's not canon. Disney declared it canon. I don't care what Disney says. It is canon. Disney can say anything's canon. And then it becomes canon. I wish I had a canon right now. You shoot you out of this?
Starting point is 01:00:30 What makes you think it isn't canon? Shoot me out of a canon. Because it's not the original source. Except it's by Disney. So? Disney is never wrong. You know, it doesn't have to be from the original source. It can be grown from the original source.
Starting point is 01:00:45 I know what? We're starting a new podcast so we can argue about what's canon. If it's not the movies, it's not canon. That is my opinion. You can't sway me from it. All right. Then if that's what you do. And Panopal Pizza is the best.
Starting point is 01:00:55 Star Wars is Star Wars to me, man. I don't care if it's canon or not. If it's interesting and it's Star Wars, I'll probably like it, unless you do a really bad job at it. We're going to take another quiz. All right, Dark Destiny, PSU, do you play any instruments? So you said you wanted to play bass. Do you play anything? I don't play any instruments right now, but I want to play bass.
Starting point is 01:01:15 I did try to learn guitar, but I didn't have a good space to play it, and I kind of lost interest in it because, I don't know. This isn't really get into it like I wanted to do bass. and I kind of made a last minute decision just to buy a guitar. It still is a cool decoration. I might pick it up again one day, you know. I might pick it up again one day
Starting point is 01:01:37 once I learned bass, you know, but, you know, so far it's just with the intention I'm learning bass. I don't have any instruments right now. You know Ivan should start a band. You, Ivan, and Andy,
Starting point is 01:01:47 be a two bass band. I'll be the lead bassist. Theo wants to know, Ivan, are you okay? I'm always okay. He's always great. Money wants to know. am I a boy or girl? You know whatever you want to be.
Starting point is 01:02:02 It's 2020. Do you do what you want. Gray, what main big game are you going to get in March? Animal Crossing or Doom Eternal? Doom Eternal. One of both. I'm going to pick up both. I'm going to pick up me there. No question. Magnumosity, what piece you're using right now?
Starting point is 01:02:18 You're ready to answer that. How do you feel about cyberpunk being delayed? I think it's a good thing. They said they were, they said that the main, most of the game, the main part of the game is finished. And they're now working on refining and optimization in book crime. Polish, right? Polish, which is a good thing, you know.
Starting point is 01:02:35 I would rather wait a lot. I would rather wait longer. So I would have a more enjoyable experience without bugs detracting from an enjoyable experience. Okay. If you wants to know who has the dankest memes on the server. Dankest memes? I don't know. Sometimes I haven't get,
Starting point is 01:02:55 I haven't pretty whack when he rolls in the server just memeing about. literally changes the whole tone of the chat every time he says he says hi the chat just lights up and he just memes around that's my job yeah just to light it up Gray wants to know can I play crisis on a PS2
Starting point is 01:03:11 that has an LCD screen I mean maybe I don't know I think he's talking about the ASUS one I don't think could can you play video games in a power supply can you actually do that I don't know
Starting point is 01:03:26 has someone ever built a computer instead of power supply like casing? Not yet. I think so, actually. Next mod coming up. Oh boy. Alan wants to know, what do you consider your greatest accomplishments so far?
Starting point is 01:03:38 I would say my greatest, one of my greatest accomplishments was finishing that soda. I do that every day. Not every day. It's pretty great. Greatest accomplishments. I mean, I would say
Starting point is 01:03:54 becoming a better person to what I was. I would say With the help of like the nzic discord server It would actually become a better person really I think I would be my accomplishment Because I wasn't always the nicest person around I was chill but at the same time
Starting point is 01:04:12 I wasn't always nice But I feel like now I'm just nicer and more lax and chill now I think that's because I'm still young I haven't really done much It's all about not caring right Seriously It's just like hey
Starting point is 01:04:25 What it's pretty pretty much it's kind of like caring but not caring in a way just caring about yourself you know let people live like people do i like to mind my business something so if you if you mind your business and care less you know on certain things i don't really need to be cared about oh got them you know it's just better you know what's yours ivers my daughter oh okay making a human That's pretty cool. That's a pretty good answer. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:01 I would say getting into the video game industry. Never thought I could. I did it. It took me forever, but you got it done. So, yeah, that would be my. That's my biggest regret. Alan, what talent have you always wish you had more of? That implies I have talent to begin with.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Having talent. I would have wished that I picked up, I had the talent of an instrument and picked it up earlier. okay that's what I wish I guess mine would be better better time management seems kind of like a really lame answer but
Starting point is 01:05:41 no that's a good talent to have the older I get the more I'm starting to value my time so it's like I you know people always say time is money but I never really understood that until like recently now that I'm an old man with like a kid and it's because you can always make
Starting point is 01:05:58 more money, but you can never make more time, right? So, like, I value my time more than anything now. So, like, I, like, when I go home, like, I don't, I don't care about playing video games or watching TV or nothing. Like, I just want to play with my daughter. Because that's, like, the only time I have, right? Right. Same thing, like in the mornings, I wake up at 5 o'clock every morning because
Starting point is 01:06:19 that's the only time I can exercise. If I don't get out at the house at that time, I'm not going to be able to, you know, exercise. So it's like, I don't know, though, like, I feel like time. Everyone has the same amount of time in the day, but no one uses it. As wisely. Not saying wisely, but just like, no one seems to like really think about it, you know. Like, if you really think about time, it's crazy how fast it goes. Time is money.
Starting point is 01:06:48 And how much you wish. It's already February. I know. It's so weird. Another thing. I do wish I was better at money management. Yeah. I wish I was better at money management.
Starting point is 01:06:57 money management. That's definitely, yeah. I'm going to do your taxes. I'm not sure if it's a talent, but it's definitely, you know, something each year. Just pay someone. I would say mine would be more organizational
Starting point is 01:07:09 talent as being better organized. Trello. Yeah, because I have the tendency to get pulled in like 50 different directions. Like I've been working on something and someone hits me up. Hey, I need you to help me with this. And then I'm all over that.
Starting point is 01:07:20 What do I always tell you, Dennis, but multitasking. I'm going to ignore that. Next, next. Next. Have you ever bought a toy lightsaber? Yes, I have one. When I was like, I'm a kid.
Starting point is 01:07:32 I didn't buy one, but I was giving one. I loved it, but I lost it now. I have two of them right now. Those high quality ones are awesome. They're cool. They're expensive, but I want one. I want one really cool. I was at the SwatMate the other day, and some lady
Starting point is 01:07:44 was selling one, and I picked it up, and it was super heavy. And I asked her, how much is this? And she was selling for $500. At the Swatmeet. That's too much. Because you could buy a new one for like 300 is custom. Yeah, but this one, I don't know where she got. It was like...
Starting point is 01:07:58 You just found it somewhere? It was seriously like, I don't know, I felt like, it must have been like 10, 15 pounds. Plot twist as a real life lightsaber. It belongs to Darth Vader. Great, thoughts on the Super Bowl. It was a very good Super Bowl, I thought. The first half was boring.
Starting point is 01:08:16 Well, I was falling asleep. You know, this was actually the... I'm a big football fan. Right. But this was the first year where I didn't watch one single football game. And I still won two fantasy football leagues. But it was cool actually being able to watch a game.
Starting point is 01:08:32 And it was a good game. Like no one, I didn't not expect the chiefs to win, to be honest. Nobody did. You know, San Francisco was just basically dominating the whole game until the very end. So it was a good game. The Super Bowl halftime show was interesting. It was very interesting. Yeah, very interesting halftime show.
Starting point is 01:08:54 The gifts are great. This is for you. Also the Baby Nut commercial. Yeah, Baby Nut. Give a time about that for a second. Baby Nut. At first, I was like,
Starting point is 01:09:04 why are they killing your mascot? It seems like a really weird thing to do. And then Baby Nut comes out and I'm like, they've done it again. They ripped off Star Wars. Yeah, pretty much. And you know that when they killed off Mr. Peanut, it was a helicopter crash.
Starting point is 01:09:21 Yeah. So they were going to show, they were going to show that commercial during the Super Bowl, but they decided not to because the whole Oh yeah yeah Yeah Speaking of Kobe you got a cool Kobe sticker up on the wall now Oh yeah the company sticker mule where we make our stickers
Starting point is 01:09:37 They just shipped us the new nibbler's Poochie niblers And they're here And they included a pretty cool Kobe sticker with it It's like his jersey and his number and it says legend And purple letters Yeah that should be This question is for you Ivan
Starting point is 01:09:51 From the podcast door From Bibiota When will we get better ad mince? When they take it over. Come and take it. Yeah, pretty much. When are new moderators coming?
Starting point is 01:10:08 Eventually trademark. When the right ones apply. How hard was your math homework when you were in the first grade? First grade, probably really easy. Probably just like one plus one. Yeah, two plus two. but I failed math in high school twice I was so bad at math that I didn't take geometry
Starting point is 01:10:31 I take elements of geometry which is like geometry for babies and I still didn't like I almost didn't get through that it wasn't for my friend in the same class when I made it out I was so bad at math when I got to college they actually put me like in some like class like people that like did not understand
Starting point is 01:10:50 people with like learning disabilities like maybe I have one I don't know but they put me in this class with like people that actually want to tell you something i've been i don't know maybe i do but they put me in this class where it's like very like basic math because i was so bad at it yeah still graduated from college that was really congrats really bad at math as well it's like when i went to when i was in high school i failed two years of math and the only reason why i passed on my third year math was because um cheated no actually because towards the end of the year the teacher got fired
Starting point is 01:11:24 and auto passed the whole class because it's so close to the end of the year How'd you get her fired? I didn't get her fired. What did you do? She was kind of a loose canon. I guess because what happened on one of their classes
Starting point is 01:11:39 one kid was recording in class and then this one kid I don't know what he did but the teacher was like berating him and calling him names and all that kind of stuff and the kid was recording that sent it to the principal the next day she was fired
Starting point is 01:11:54 I want to I want to know what that kid did though to piss her off so much she was kind of a loose canon anyway small things that wouldn't shouldn't aggravate you surprise she's here right now um all right from money question are the recent question
Starting point is 01:12:15 nzxte questions as good as they usually are they're much better I have some help now money is actually helping me he's feeding me questions I Oh, really? Yeah, I told money, you know, I try to ask questions to the server that, you know, I try to like kind of see what people are talking about, try to give them something that's entertaining or that can help us improve the server or whatever.
Starting point is 01:12:39 Give me the toy. Oh, sorry. I quickly. So yeah, money, money is, he's my man on the street, basically. He's listening to what people are saying and he's telling me what to ask. So, for example. That's good. Yesterday he asked me.
Starting point is 01:12:53 He's like, can you ask what's better muffins or donuts? Because it's a debate or people are debating about the shirt. So ask questions about the shirt, stuff like that. So thanks, money. I appreciate it, buddy. What's the best possible future discovery or invention from Alan? I actually like that question. Smart questions today.
Starting point is 01:13:11 Possible best invention or discovery. Probably a computer that doesn't require a power supply. That'd be pretty cool. Okay. Now what's your serious question? Your serious answer? answer. Actually, I do have a serious answer. So this morning, I was reading this article about the female astronaut that just came back. She spent 300 and I think 360 days in outer space. Jeez. Yeah. And it was cool because, you know, technology is so advanced now. She was like tweeting a lot.
Starting point is 01:13:43 Posting all these cool pictures from outer space. And I'm one of those people. I'm not going to say I have like a tinfoil hat on. Yeah. For me, like I never really. believed we even went to space because it was just like you okay because like we went to the moon in 1969 and we haven't gone back just because there's nothing there there's a bunch of rocks here
Starting point is 01:14:06 we brought rocks back and like these rocks like that interesting all these you know weird things with like you know the way the flags waving the shadows yeah that was all just proved in mythbusters I don't know yeah I'm open to the possibility could have been faked it wasn't I read I read another
Starting point is 01:14:22 article that said that the technology to fake the moon landing did not exist. It's actually less technologically advanced to go to the moon than it was to actually fake the moon landing. Why don't we go back? Think of this way. There is more processing power in like the first iPhone than in the first Apollo. So that's my point. Like we haven't gone back. But anyway, this lady, this female astronaut, it's the first time where I actually saw like something that NASA was doing where I was like, okay,
Starting point is 01:14:52 Maybe we did go to the moon. Maybe it was real because she's posting all these. Costing his conspiracy theory evidence saying, I don't know, man, over and over. You're right, Jeff. You're right. She posted all these cool pictures on our Twitter, like amazing photographs of like Earth. It's cool. Ivan's one of those guys that believe the Earth is flat.
Starting point is 01:15:11 No, I don't believe that. But I think the greatest technology or whatever discovery would be that, you know, there is life. there because I've always felt like there has to be just the universe is so big that's like very dumb to just think we're the only ones here so I think that would be the best you know the best discovery heard a gamer wants to know what was your favorite game with Nintendo Wii wait you're answered everyone answered the question about the discovery thing I think the best discovery and or invention would be a way to provide cheap sustainable power
Starting point is 01:15:52 for the entire planet. Invent the power supply. Like if we A cheap power supply? Wait a minute. Find out a way to have solar panels. You just said the greatest invention would be a cheap power supply. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:16:06 That's literally what you said. Not power supply. Literally what you just said. I'll have to go back on the past. Cheap sustainable power. Cheap sustainable power for like the population. You know, so like and so we don't have any issues with power.
Starting point is 01:16:19 You know, like if we can harness at least 1% of the size. sun's power we'd be set for life for entirety of human civilization i would say a way to get rid of all of our trash in a way that doesn't cause any harm would be the best invention we could have right now because the earth is dying man we need to get to the mars man Elon save me please oh yeah there you go okay anyway uh what is your favorite arcade machine i'm a pinball wizard simpsons simpson's Simpsons arcade machine, the four-player brawler. It's too hard.
Starting point is 01:16:51 It is hard, but that's the idea. Actually, no, I lied. Metal Slug. That's also hard. Middle Slug, yeah. It's hard on purpose. It's a quarter eater, dude. Much of them quarters.
Starting point is 01:17:02 I think it was always those kind of, those shooter arcade machines that you'd find. Yeah, those ones. Those are the ones I'd always go to, or the racing ones. You're playing Star Wars pinball? Tem Crisis. I played it once when I was a kid.
Starting point is 01:17:16 I don't remember much of it, I know I played it. besides I know about the switch version. No one plays that. No one plays towards games. Happy Cic wants to know, why don't you guys let us edit the pre-builds? Because they're pre-bills. Yeah, and we have a build configurator so you can build whatever you want.
Starting point is 01:17:32 Yeah, pretty much. The real answer is that we have them sourced in a particular way to get them at the price that we got them at. So if we make them editable, then... I mean, you could technically configure the same exact builds any way you want. Just go through the build configurator. Yep. But sometimes we'll use different parts in those pre-builds for particular reasons, either money reasons or, you know, I don't know, some other thing.
Starting point is 01:17:56 So, yeah. Let's build.com. I mean, if you don't want to configure it, just build your own. It's not that hard. We always, shh, don't talk about. It's actually really hard, guys. You guys can't do it yourself. Yeah, it's not easy.
Starting point is 01:18:08 General Pace is toxic. Don't touch it. Alan, Poppy. How are PSU's shoes? Actually, I don't know what shoes he's wearing. $15 slip-ons. We're actually wearing similar shoes. Are you?
Starting point is 01:18:20 Except mine have a hole in them. Yeah, I'll take a picture. Shoekast. Shoecast. I'm wearing my new flynets, new Nike flynets. I got over the weekend, feeling pretty slick.
Starting point is 01:18:32 Like, all my shoes have a hole in the same exact spot because I ride a skateboard. And my wife always tells me, why don't you get any shoes? I'm like, because I'm just going to put a hole in them too. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:18:43 all my shoes have a hole in the left toe. we're ready to skateboard Mech wants to know PSUG how's the air headset now that you're using it I do like them I'd like to listen to them like how they sound like under gaming under my under music
Starting point is 01:19:02 and other scenarios and all that they're definitely better give my sound test then give us a song what song you want to hear let's go out let's hear how good the bass is go play the god that failed by Metallica All right We're gonna have to
Starting point is 01:19:19 Edit this I sense Metallica Then he used naughty words Yeah do they I don't know I don't know I don't know if Metallica actually uses any bad words I turn my headphones up
Starting point is 01:19:28 They usually don't Get ready guys Stop banging your head Also I'm gonna be a good quality version of it Because it's off of YouTube He's thinking really hard right now They sound very well balanced Across the Lord
Starting point is 01:20:03 You can think Pat for that They sound balanced. They're better than my voice. Right. They're better what I have. And I haven't tried anything better other than my little I.N. 9s, which are really good.
Starting point is 01:20:22 Everything's really clear. I can't hear anything now. My ears hurt. Right. Here's my sound test. It's actually a really terrible quality version of this. This is a better one? There we go.
Starting point is 01:20:39 Sounds even worse. Bass boosts. Scott's a little bit of force behind the base, at least. You get that little reverb there. Ooh! Let's go. It's just instrumental.
Starting point is 01:20:52 We can't play the song at all. For my music test, I want to hear Radio and Joe Cooley, Everlasting Bass, again. Just play country roads, man. No, man. What's another?
Starting point is 01:21:04 This one. All right, let's see. Tipity tap. Turn on my bass. Can. Are using the cam equalizer? No. Because we're not using cam.
Starting point is 01:21:22 All right. Turn on my base. Someone's car right now is shaking. Like, oh my God. I just wanted a podcast. And now my car is shaking. All right. Next.
Starting point is 01:21:40 Yeah, a little bit of time here. Who pays the electricity bill? Johnny does. Well, at home, I pay it. I pay rent, which goes into the, the electricity bill that's that all bubble in why was my question not pinned i don't know what's my

Starting point is 01:22:30 yeah on Facebook maybe five or six on Twitter probably zero because we got that handled and in my discord
Starting point is 01:22:39 way too many Toyota or Tesla Toyota you should get a toy Yoda Toyota Toyota Oh, it's a boy. Hilarious and original.
Starting point is 01:22:51 Who want to watch Sonic with me? Oh, it comes out Valentine's Day. Does it really? Yep. Oh, wow. Have you had some from Karu? It's a serious question. Have you had any new ideas for cases, bigger or smaller cases, smaller for the desks that
Starting point is 01:23:04 have limited space? No, we're all out of ideas. Yeah. No ideas. Void of anything possibly interesting. What's for lunch at the office? I brought lunch as usual. I'm probably the only person that brings lunch here.
Starting point is 01:23:16 You mean you go into domestic with us today? well I plan on it but now we have a meeting we do for who Irene which told us we have a weekly with the creative team and Irene has never once
Starting point is 01:23:32 sent the invite so like I forget every week but we can go to domestic if we end a little early because I think the meeting's at one let me check the calendar this is my calendar for today look at that
Starting point is 01:23:45 that's really bad Okay. So bad. Have you seen all the emails I get? Oh, yeah. NdXXT calendar, and ZXC calendar. Yeah, I screwed up the invite.
Starting point is 01:23:57 People were complaining to me for the focus group. They're like, why am I getting all these invites? And I was like, I think I messed something up. Oh, really? I got like 20 of them. Like, okay. Yikes. Does PSU get cream barbecue?
Starting point is 01:24:12 Oh. You got to talk to mom about that. Mom! She'll answer. She's paying attention right now. This piece you get boba. I think you've heard of boba before, right? Boba?
Starting point is 01:24:25 You ever had boba before? No. Oh, my God. Okay, well, we'll talk about that. This piece, you know how to renegade. Renegade. Do you know how to renegade? No.
Starting point is 01:24:36 He does not know how to renegade. I'm really excited for tomorrow. Are you two? No. I'm never excited for tomorrow. I'm excited about today. Tomorrow's Friday, so no. Because to probably.
Starting point is 01:24:48 Tomorrow is not promised today. Warse. Wack. My boy or girl question was meant to be a challenge, so I'll ask again, am I a boy or a girl, you must guess. Whatever you want. Whatever you want.
Starting point is 01:25:00 Cuddle. If I draw a new emote, we add it if it turns out good. I'm pretty sure you can add them to, Cuddle. This is hat sale, actually. Hatsilly. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:25:11 Y'all change your name like every five days, so I don't know who it is. I had a hard time finding PSU guys. I was like, General Cano. I know. Jeff wants to know, I have a question. Regardless of who will win a crack in Z
Starting point is 01:25:21 via posting a gift, what was your favorite gift that was posted? I honestly haven't really looked that much of them because there's way, it's like 2,000 responses. I have a favorite one, actually. It was this Discord anime one that's crying. It was the crying or you mean the one with like the red?
Starting point is 01:25:36 No, it was like, I can't remember exactly. I don't think it's like either crying or drooling one of the other. Yeah, that's not a crying one. That's not a crying. It was like, that was pretty good. That's the most voice. voted one. What's your favorite anime, PSU?
Starting point is 01:25:53 I don't watch anime. And why is it Jojos? I think the closest anime, which is I don't think it qualifies under anime that I've watched, is this show called Metal Oclipse, which I don't think qualifies it. That's a great show. I don't know if it qualifies.
Starting point is 01:26:08 Is it still on? No. It's awful a while ago. It doesn't qualify as anime. It's not. That's like the closest thing, though. It's animated. Yeah, no.
Starting point is 01:26:18 Definitely not a anime in terms of like the It's it's kind of weird like how to describe anime Because anime doesn't have to mean that it's like Japanese animation. It's more of a Isn't it like an art style? Yeah, it's more of like a style than really like a genre But like it's you know, it's kind of blended these days
Starting point is 01:26:35 Because like you have shows like Avatar or like I think Seis Manos on Netflix Or Castlevania Which have that anime style But they're not from Japan So does it make it anime? I don't know people people saw
Starting point is 01:26:49 I'm sure a lot of arguments and bar fights have been had over what is anime not anime all we know is that it's all cringy agreed can you eat thermopaste hyperX has shown that you can
Starting point is 01:27:03 oh yeah you seen their tweet yeah they tagged this actually yeah I saw that oh hey thanks for taking are using the chem equalizer no Jeff I'm not using the chem equalizer I'm using a Xenix
Starting point is 01:27:16 Berringer X1-2-2-2-USB mixer with a HA-400 micro-amp from Berringer. So, yeah, not using the equalizer. We're using a real equalizer, actually. What's Cam?
Starting point is 01:27:33 I don't know. Never heard of it. Ivan, do we get to eat, do we get cat ears for the next air headset? Not if I have anything to do with it. All right. Rabbit ears for the next air headset?
Starting point is 01:27:44 Not if I have anything to do with it. PCU, what do you hate every power supply that's affordable? I don't hate every power supply that's affordable. It just has to be good. I think the best, like, there's a few affordable ones out there, like Corsair's CX series and the CXMs. Those are pretty good. There's around the $50 range for their lower wattage.
Starting point is 01:28:07 Over in Europe, because they have a different market, their system power U-9 is usually around like 30 to 40 40 euros Go ahead Same with Zylins and some I think one of Samos There's a lot out there
Starting point is 01:28:29 But there's also more ones that are bad I wish I could just say save it for the podcast But I realize we're on the podcast Oh no Cutta wants to know PSU How do you feel about me listening to podcasts At Dinner right now and my family looking
Starting point is 01:28:43 Weirdly at me? I'm proud of you There we go Trouble, have you watched La Casa de Papel I'm assuming it's a telenovela I don't know
Starting point is 01:28:54 I never seen I quit watching TV actually recently Tell us all about that Ivan About your hermit lifestyle I quit watching TV Because I don't like the Marvel movies
Starting point is 01:29:02 I don't watch TV I read this very interesting statistic That scared me I remember you saying that So I quit watching TV like a month ago And my life is much better now
Starting point is 01:29:11 So I'm head out On average people watch 2.9 hours of television per day. So if you live to be 80 years old, that equates to 10 years of your life watching television. That's time well spent. And then a third of your life is spent sleeping. So then I just did the math and I was like,
Starting point is 01:29:31 so that means I have like 10 years of them really alive. Like I'm just going to quit watching TV. And at least I have like a double lifespan. Oh my God, he read it on Reddit are statistics. Yes. No, actually Alan says I stopped sleeping. I actually increased my sleeping.
Starting point is 01:29:45 So my new year's resolution, I went to sleep more. So now I go to sleep at 9 and I wake up at 5 every day. That's great. I don't get messages from Ivan past like 10 o'clock anymore. I used to DM Dennis like at midnight between the morning. But now I'm just like 9 o'clock. I'm going to bed and I wake up at 5. Now I DM you at 5.
Starting point is 01:30:05 Do you like Chick-fil-A. Oh, yeah. I love Chick-fil-A. I haven't tried much Chick-fil-A and I need to. But one of my favorite things so far is their nuggets. their nuggies. The nuggies are pretty good. Their nuggies are good.
Starting point is 01:30:18 It's the fact that these peanut oil and not like whatever vegetable oil that other places do. Yeah. Super good. What's funny is I hate ordering chicken sandwiches at restaurants. It's like I always...
Starting point is 01:30:29 Yeah, they're always really bad. Yeah. And my wife for like a year was telling me, can we go to Chick-fil-A? And I would just tell her, no, I do not want to eat a chicken sandwich. And then finally one day, she just brought me one and I ate it.
Starting point is 01:30:38 And I was like, this is the best sandwich I ever had in life. And I wanted to go to that very next day, and it was Sunday. And I was like, rip. And then you never went there again. No, I go there at least once a month. Chick-fil-A it's a great app. We use it all the time.
Starting point is 01:30:50 What is on the Chick-Fillay? Probably like deals. It's like the McDonald's app. Should we go to Chick-fil-A? I'm going to go Chick-Fleigh. What's your normal Chick-Filly order? Spicy. I'll probably just get Nuggies again.
Starting point is 01:31:06 I get the spicy deluxe on a wheat bun. No pickles. That's the best. Pickles are good, man. Because that regular bun they use, I'm not a fan. of like if you go to chick filly and just get like the regular sandwich you're probably a psychopath because it's it's fine but there's so much more so much more the chicken filet is kind of like the in and out of chicken you know and out focus on burgers chicken that's why it's so good you but um
Starting point is 01:31:33 chick filet is also like kind of a weird magical place because like everyone with there is just so happy to be there like i went there uh actually actually went there earlier this week um and i was looking for straws and you have to ask for straws which I thought was stupid because why the hell will they give you a cup with soda and ice put a top on it and they did not give you a straw like some kind of pointless California lawn now is well
Starting point is 01:31:56 I'm like it's just pointless that they're going to do that but I'm just happy they don't use plastic or the paper straws yeah I know right that's the worst so we go I go to like you know where you can get like the ketchup and like the napkins and stuff and I'm looking for straws and this lady's like oh what are you looking for I'm looking for straws it's like oh you get asked to them that's right you know I'll just open
Starting point is 01:32:14 up and sip it from the cup. I'm sitting down and my meal comes up and the lady walks up. Oh, hey, I got you a straw. Did you need a little one for your friend? I'm like, oh, thanks. Yeah, Chick-fil-A has very good customer service. This was actually a customer. Oh, really?
Starting point is 01:32:28 She was- That's what I mean, customer service. Ah, I got him. It's like a, it's like, it's like, it's like, you go in Chick-fil-A, you kind of, like, absorb, like, the good vibes that, like, Chick-fil-A-A- gives you. Yeah, so it's like, everyone just naturally is a nicer person at Chick-Blay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:42 Okay, a couple more questions Then we got to head out because we got a lot of stuff to do today We should actually Stop it here now? We should stop. Let's stop it. But we do have a special announcement. We have a couple announcements first and foremost.
Starting point is 01:32:55 Before we do that, first announcement is that we are still doing the gift contest on Twitter for a Cracken Z. Well, I think it's just a Cracken, right? I forget it's Spets Cracken Z. It's Cracken Z any size they want. Yeah, yeah, Cracken Z any size you want. So two.
Starting point is 01:33:12 one or the other. And next week we'll do a Cracken X contest. Yes. The nibbler stickers are in and they will be sent out shortlyish. We're going to do so they might take us a little bit to get to that. I showed Johnny this morning and the first thing he says... He's complaining about him. Yeah, he's like, why this is so small?
Starting point is 01:33:32 Why is this outline not the same as the other one? So they look great. He said, I love it how it looks. He's like, but he just said it. He thought they were too small, but then I told him, well, Pucci's smaller than a computer case. It has to be smaller. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 01:33:45 It can't be the same size. It wouldn't be, it's not canon. Yeah. Do you have any other things that we're working on social media-wise? Congratulations to who won the setup contest yesterday. You know, so thank you for submitting your setup. Every Wednesday we're going to announce a setup of the week on the Discord. The NG60 Club and then also.
Starting point is 01:34:05 Like Instagram stories, Facebook stories. On Reddit, our subreddit. Yep. We're going to pick the most upboated one and then actually give those people prizes. So actually it's two separate things. So we're doing best setup on Discord, but on Reddit, we're doing best build. Because normally on our subreddit, we don't get a lot of setups. It's mostly just check out this NXT build, because it's specifically for NXT,
Starting point is 01:34:26 and we don't make everything yet. So, yeah, someone won that, the one he won is called, like, Black Mamba. Yeah, it's actually a really good-looking setup. I think that's it, that I have Contest and Soul. sure wise but I haven't had something to say. Play me some music. What do you want to, what do you want to hear? Play me some announcement music.
Starting point is 01:34:50 Announce music. Reggae horn. Reggae horn. Okay. Go for it. Yes, thank you. So this special announcement is for PSU Guy, actually.
Starting point is 01:35:08 Yeah, you know, as some of you might know, PSU Guy was recently demodded. Because he made a comment that was very inappropriate. And he felt very amorousful right away. And, you know, he was telling us, you know, sorry. He even wanted to let the server know he was sorry. And I just told him, you know what, just take some time off, man.
Starting point is 01:35:33 It's okay. It's just a mistake. You know, but we're going to have to remove your moderator status because we have to uphold the standards of the moderator team because we set the example, right? Right. And you said, okay, cool. But you never, you never, like, had any, like, ill intentions of what you said.
Starting point is 01:35:57 And in fact, I feel like it made you a better community member because you change your name to Obi-Wan, first of all. Obi-Kinobi. Great. Finally, we got rid of the power supply guy. Yes. Honestly. Someone more interesting, finally. That's all it took.
Starting point is 01:36:11 But then, you know, we've been watching the way you interact on the server. You know, you're definitely more welcoming to people. You're helping more people. You're still boring people with the power supply talk, but that's okay. They have to ask first. Yeah. But we also realize, you know, how much it meant for you to be a moderator. So on behalf of the NZX,
Starting point is 01:36:31 NZXT moderator and admin team, we'd like to officially welcome you back to the moderator team. If you accept. Of course I'll accept. He's like, no, never mind. I don't want to do it. Yeah. Imagine he said no.
Starting point is 01:36:44 No, good. Yeah. Yeah, chat's going wild, man. See? They missed you. But thanks, man, for fostering community. That's what it's all about, right? It's all about foster community, which is one of the core, my favorite core value.
Starting point is 01:37:00 And you said something earlier that, and it totally is what the server is all about. You said when you first came in, you were very, like, you know, aggressive with people telling them. Like, you know, your choice in hardware is wrong. And you said the server changed you. And that's the whole, the real point of the server is the reason the rules are strict is for that. You know, it's like it's, it's, it doesn't matter what computer you have, what power supply you have. Right. What games you play.
Starting point is 01:37:29 Even if, even if you don't have a computer, even if you don't play games, it's just all about being nice, having fun, and helping each other. See, in my perspective, actually changed a little bit when I listened to a podcast with Jim, how he doesn't care what computer you have, what game you play. so long as you're playing a game and having fun. I don't know why. Just when you said that, just changed my perspective. That's what's all about. And I'm just all like, I want to,
Starting point is 01:37:53 I think I should start thinking like that. You will have a, you have something that makes you happy, go for it. You know, I'll have my opinion on it. But if you're happy, great,
Starting point is 01:38:03 happy for you. Yeah. You know, that's what it's all about, that's what it's all about. And I, you know, it's changed me for the better and I'm actually really appreciative of it.
Starting point is 01:38:11 I'm really glad I've ended up joining the server and staying as long as I did. Yeah. I hope you're here for a long, long, long time. Oh, definitely. Yeah, I'll say all they really ask is people is foster community. And if you take that value at what it's meant to be, then, like, you'll never do anything wrong, right? If you are not fostering community, then you're being rude to people.
Starting point is 01:38:31 You're not, you know, holding yourself accountable and, you know, so on and so forth. So, like, I think that's like the most important one fostering community because that feeds into so many things, right? Yeah, exactly. Like, you can't possibly foster community if you're making rude comments of people. you can't be possibly fostering community if you're just coming into cause trouble right like it's the exact opposite so I think as long as as everybody does that
Starting point is 01:38:53 as all of you foster community so I think we should just do it right now just give him the oh there he's in there already I'm on it bro come on it so because you guys as a first order of business you get to ban someone anyone you want
Starting point is 01:39:08 ban cuddle, ban cuddle, ban cuddle ban someone okay Ben, I have it. Welcome to Foster Community Suckers. All right, so I think that's pretty, oh, wait, last question. Favorite NXT product,
Starting point is 01:39:25 least favorite N60 product, go. Favorite NZXT product. There's a lot of products. Like, so far. That you can talk about. Yeah, he saw stuff. I didn't see anything. I don't see anything.
Starting point is 01:39:39 The Manta. That's my favorite case so far. Yes. I really, really want it because it looks, I don't know, I'm just gravitated for it. Same here. Least favorite. Least favorite. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:39:52 You got meetings in lunch. I'm hungry. Denny Hungy. Least favorite. I would say that weird looking five and a hundred, five and a quarter inch bay fan controller. The century? Yeah. Everyone talks about the century.
Starting point is 01:40:09 Poor century, dude. It's like, I mean, it's just, the correct answer was Cam. but we'll take it. I have faith in Cam, it can improve. The century cannot. Cam can, but can Jeff. All right. And with that, thank you for joining us today,
Starting point is 01:40:26 Mr. PSU guru. Moderator guru. Moderator guru. And thank you to everybody who tuned in.
