Welcome to episode 32 of the NZXT Clubcast, the official podcast of the NZXT community.
This podcast was recorded live every Thursday at 10 a year and Pacific Center time of the official NXT Discord server.
And it's available to stream wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.
My name is Dennis and with me as always is Ivan.
Today's special Super-Dupertoper guest is the one, the only...
Amanda. Hi.
Hi.
How you doing?
Good.
You excited?
Great.
Excited, nervous.
Nervous and excited?
Sex and time.
I'm excited.
Yeah.
Cool.
Well, thank you, Amanda, for joining us.
It's a privilege and an honor to have the official NZXT mom.
Not to be confused with mommy.
There's a difference on the podcast.
So, yeah, thank you, Amanda for joining us today.
We appreciate all you've done and all you're doing and all you're going to do.
You're welcome.
So for those who may or may not know, Amanda is a recent hire.
Actually, so she and I got brought on at the same time, but I was brought on as an employee.
She got brought in as a contractor.
See, I think on Dennis's first day, I made him interview you.
Yeah, pretty much.
Yeah.
I'm like, all right.
So what am I doing here at this office?
I don't know what is.
And I'm always said, hey, we're going to do some interviews today.
What?
Yeah, we're going to interview an employee.
I'm like, I just got here.
Okay.
I remember after we interviewed Amanda, Dennis's first words to me when you walk back to our seats,
he looked at me and he goes, I like her.
Remember that?
Yeah, no, yeah.
I like her.
I said, hey, I like her too.
Nice.
And the reason we like you is because pretty much all we talked about was community stuff.
Even though that wasn't the job you were necessarily applying for, you were all about, you know, the community and doing cool stuff for, you know, the community.
So we just like you right off the bat.
I didn't like you guys.
I'm just kidding.
I'm pretty sure she thought we were like some like scary, two scary dudes working on social media, meming on everybody and being like, like,
like super mean. I was more so intimidated by Dennis, but not Ivan because Dennis was just
staring at me and not really talking and Ivan was asking all the questions. So I was kind of like
And then the one question it asked was so you're here applying for video games. Tell me about this
veterinary thing you have on your resume. That's what I'm most interested in. Yeah, I thought that was
super funny. Yeah. So Amanda, I mean, do we just want to talk about like their transition or like
I guess I'll make the official statement.
Can I get some breaking news music, please?
Yeah, let's see.
What will we do breaking news?
I got it here.
The first thing I pull up is Bernie.
Breaking news theme.
Here we go.
Ladies and gentlemen, this just in
to the NZXT Pucci News desk.
Amanda,
team mom, Amanda.
Amanda is officially a member of the NSD community team.
Yay!
Starting this last Monday.
And her new title is community specialist.
It was previously Partnership Associate.
Yes.
And going forward, Amanda will be our third co-host on the blog.
So she'll be...
The blog.
I'm sorry, on the podcast.
I'm thinking about the blog.
And the blog.
We're going to talk about the blog in a minute.
But yeah, she'll be our third.
third co-host on here. It's already getting a little cramped and I'm sweating already,
but it's worth it. Good to know. Yeah. I mentioned earlier at the beginning, Amanda has already
done a lot and she's doing a lot and she's going to be doing a lot more with the community. So we're
excited to have her officially on the team. And today's episode, I guess we'll be talking more about
Amanda and all that stuff. And you guys can't ask your questions.
Yeah, Amanda, welcome.
Thank you.
Yeah, very glad to have you.
It's funny that Amanda says, like, I was the most intimidating person here
because, like, now we're, like, really good friends
and we hang out and play video games, like, all the time.
Didn't start out that way, though.
I definitely didn't.
Didn't start out that way.
You guys actually carpool, like, pretty much every day.
Yeah.
Yeah, because, like, she's, like, pretty much on the...
Actually, by carpool, I mean, Dennis is your Uber driver.
Why got to call me out like that?
She, she pays me in Apex Wins.
True.
She still owes me a lot.
often shows me a lot yeah we we hang out all the time we talk all the time you know like we're
always talking about work like we'll literally be out to lunch and we'll have an idea we get back to
the office and we run back to the office and iven's just working on his desk like iven we had an idea
he's like what meeting sure let's do this yeah but um it's it's really nice having amanda
in the team because she definitely helps balance me and ivan's like an organizedness out and like
helps us keep us focused and sets a lot of meetings a lot of meetings
almost like something a secretary would be doing.
Okay.
It was nice talking.
I'll see you guys later.
You're the one that called yourself secretary before I did.
It was an Animal Crossing joke.
Everyone got it but you.
I don't take jokes.
He doesn't play video games.
He's played Star Wars pinball.
I take everything very serious.
Literally everything seriously.
So Amanda, let's talk about you.
How did you get started in the gaming industry?
How did you end up here?
So I actually started out as a moderator on Twitch, which is super weird.
But just getting involved with the streaming and gaming community and getting to know different streamers.
And I met one of my good friends who helped me learn how to manage communities and, you know, manage teams of moderators.
And from there, just like through networking and getting to know people.
You know, I got different opportunities.
Before that I worked for GameStop, but I don't count that because it was more so retail,
but that's where I got like my management experience.
And yeah, so Twitch moderator, humble beginning.
What was the hardest part of working at GameStop?
The fact that you have to wear all hats.
Like you have to do everything as an employee.
Like, you know, marketing on Sundays and, you know, taking care of customers, being out on the floor,
organizing inventory you have to there's no departments right every single person at
GameStop does everything and I think that's like the hardest part just juggling pretty
much and dealing with the people who come in who with the customers are yes very sweaty
and looking for very specific obscure titles and you know it's also hard to rip people off when
they trade in their old deal games yeah like controllers and stuff I'll give you one dollar
for this controller deal
All right.
It's brand new.
He just got it yesterday.
$2.
So before NXT, where were you working?
I worked at Player Unknown's Battlegrounds.
No way.
Huh.
Yeah.
What were you doing there?
Started out partnerships.
So.
Oh, okay.
Same as here before community.
And then I worked in e-sports.
So that was.
How do you spell e-sports?
Lowercase E.S.
Really lower-case E?
Yes.
Well, if it's at the front of a sentence, it's capital, but anywhere else in the sentence, it's lowercase.
Who decided that? Because I feel like it should be little E, no matter what, because it's almost like a noun, right?
Like, esports is like its own.
So if you were to put it at the beginning of a sentence, you would still put it lowercase.
Yes.
That makes no sense.
Why does it make any sense?
Because, like, the letter at the beginning of a sentence is always capitalized.
But e-sports isn't like a regular word.
It's like a name, right?
It's like a name for like an organization.
That's like.
Chat.
It's like, it's like if you were to type in N,
fell you would always have a cap
no matter where it goes in the sentence so I would treat
unless you're like me and just always type of
yeah yeah
eat the porthes
exactly Alan that's exactly how it works
you know I'm in this joke that
that uh that uh
esports is just how Hispanics try to say sports
because they're both Hispanic
and we're like if we tweet that I was going to get it
we're going to get raked over the goals for it
I don't get like 90% of the jokes already
so it wouldn't make a difference
that's true it's very true um so
How was it working at PubG?
Like, what did you do there exactly?
So partnerships was the PubG Partners program.
Right.
So essentially working on getting creators involved with PubG,
streaming content from our game and, you know,
sending them rewards and things in return.
And then Eastport side was like working with grassroots organizers.
So people would come to me to be like,
we really want to host an event,
but we don't have custom game access, you know, could you hook us up?
And I would just read through their application, see how many people were attending that event
and making sure, you know, they're following branding guidelines and all that kind of stuff
and then just give them the access and report on, you know, how it did.
And then towards the end was a little bit of the official league, but I wasn't too, too,
involved in that.
But yeah, so mostly just working with, like, organizers who just wanted to,
host PubG events essentially.
Nice.
And what made you want to apply at NST?
Like what was your like was this like a blanket?
You know like I'm gonna,
I'm gonna play everywhere or was it like a specific like I really want to work with them?
I actually reading through this is totally honest.
Reading through the the core values and the careers page is what made me want to apply here.
Because I was like thinking about what type of environment do I want to work in.
And from everything I read I was like this is the environment like you know and I actually
had seen Emily around. We were both in a woman of e-sports Discord that I helped set up with a few other
people. And we had like a mentorship program and stuff like that. And I just remembered seeing her around
and knowing that she was from NZXT and it got me interested. And when I saw there was an open
position, I was like, I have to check this out. And yeah, I just wanted to change a pace. I wanted
to work in a different side of gaming, going from software to hardware, I thought, was.
a pretty interesting jump. So yeah. Yeah, when I when I applied one of the first things I looked at was on our careers page we have the nom nom nom noms delicious weekly company breakfasts fully stock cafe with snacks and gourmet beverages. Happy hours company events and product launch lunches.
Secret snacks in Vivian's drawer. Yeah. They literally just should just change that meet Vivian ask her for snacks because she for some reason she grabs as many as she can. She doesn't even
even eat them all. She loses them in a drawer. She hordes them. She does. And then she'll just let you
grab some. So it's not really, so it's like not really like a hoarding. She just keeps them safe from
you know, I actually, I don't get enough snacks from her. I never, I never go to her desk or ask for
anything. I need to start doing that. You get a hang with Vivian more. She's a, yeah, yeah. She knows what's
up. How much weight have you Gateson's working here?
Dude, way too many, dude, I swear.
Like, I'm pretty sure I get at least like 15 pounds.
Don't ask you.
You have, huh?
You probably have, right?
No, I definitely have.
No, because, well, like, first of, like, we go to lunch out, like, almost every single day.
Not me?
And then we have these, like, these, like, company events and lunches.
And Ivan was like, oh, let's go to domestic and have a beer.
And so then I got into the habit of whenever we go out there, we grab a beer or not.
And now Ivan's like, I'm going to diet now.
I got really, just got me.
You just got me on this habit.
Now you're just taking it away from me.
I had to lose like 20 pounds last year.
So I got like on a really strict diet.
I got really, really big.
What's your diet look like right now?
Let's see.
For breakfast, I eat a breakfast burrito, which is two scrambled eggs, some ham cheese.
I switched it up from the omelet.
Isn't it kind of pretty much an omelet?
It's an omelet wrap.
And then for lunch, I usually just have a sandwich and some fruit.
And then for dinner, whatever my wife makes.
So she'll, like last night she made is really good shrimp pasta.
Ooh.
Amanda knows a lot about pasta.
Yes, I do.
Yes, I do.
You want to talk about your pasta secrets?
She's where it taught me like a lot about pasta.
Have I?
Yeah.
I don't know.
You don't need spaghetti noodles, right?
Use like a different kind of noodle.
Bucatini.
Yeah.
Why?
Because it has a hole through the center of it.
So it catches the sauce on the inside.
Poochitini.
Poochitini.
Coin it.
Coin it.
Princess Cutter.
If you can let me know where you got the notification so I can check it out.
Facebook.
Is that, is that Facebook?
Remember we used that for the poll last night?
You're like, I want to get out of here.
I don't know what to put for the caption.
I just put a purple heart image.
You can get out of here.
That's true.
Yeah.
It's a popular post.
Yeah, I wonder why it's popular.
All right.
So Amanda, what's your new job, NNZXT?
What exactly do you do every day?
I have no idea.
So my new job is community specialists, as we said.
And I work on.
the Discord server
so you'll see me hanging out
in chat and working with the mods
we just recently set up some new teams for them
so we're working on all different
projects right now
as you guys probably have seen
the revolving channel was one of them
yeah you really clean up the server I gotta say
because
you know
before Amanda
it was basically even though we had yes we have
you know Vivian and Dom
on there helping
but it's primarily
primarily me and Dennis who were having you like you deal with a lot of the nonsense that goes on there.
So then it's hard because you know Dennis has to take care of all the social media stuff and then I take care of my stuff.
And then it's just kind of like, dang like, like, you know, we're up to like midnight.
It's a lot of work.
Dealing with trolls and whatnot.
And then Amanda came in and she's like, let me take care of this.
First order of business.
We're going to do this and that.
And then now it's like it's a well oiled machine.
And because of that, we're able to add more stuff, like the revolving chat channel,
which is photography this month, if you guys are interested.
But there's also other stuff that I'm sure people have already seen the roles.
People have been bugging me like, how do I get the event team role?
How do I get the role manager role?
How do I get, you know, all these different roles?
We're bugging for this clout, man.
And like, they don't even know what the roles are, but they want the roles.
But basically those roles are the roles that with Amanda's help, you know, we've been adding to give the modern.
So we can give him more more jobs more stuff to do not to keep him busy but to make the server more more fun and exciting
So I think you, Amanda part of the reason why we did that I think a Amanda and I were talking about this a while back was that like right now
Well, before the mods were literally just the bad guys right like we come in and we chat and then we're gonna
warn you and like that's all they ever seem to do Amanda Amanda's the Billy eyelash
The server
Which is bad guys.
Yeah, which is fine.
But like at the same time, it's like the mods are also community members, right?
They're just like anybody else, except to have, you know, a little bit extra responsibility.
And that's really pretty much it.
They're not special than above anybody, right?
But would you have them up there as like, hey, like these are the people who know the rules.
They know, you know, like how to diffuse situations, how to handle people, right?
It's, it's not easy.
But at the same time, you know, let's let them have some fun.
and have them be more of a part of the server and help us with cool events and things like that.
Yeah, and there's been, the mods have so many ideas.
Like, the amount of things, we've talked about, like, changing in the server and making better,
like, there's a lot of changes that are going to be happening, but really, really good ones,
stuff that's going to be really fun and bring a little bit of extra life to the server, I would say.
But the mods are spearheading a lot of that.
Like they're taking on a lot of responsibility and they're handling it.
And I'm super happy with everything that they've done so far.
I'm a proud puppy.
We're trying to be more hands off with it too.
Like we're trying to kind of really let them have more ownership of the server
so that we can just do all the fun stuff in terms of like getting like new processes in place
and, you know, adding to the club and things that like only we can really take care of
but we didn't have time to do before.
Yeah.
Design contest.
Yeah, exactly.
Design contests.
things like that.
And if we only cared about, you know,
warning,
muting and banning people,
we wouldn't be thinking of these ideas.
We wouldn't be changing things in the server.
We wouldn't be,
you know,
doing the giveaways and the contest and stuff.
We want everyone to have fun.
So that's definitely something we want to continue to do.
Yeah.
Just a friendly reminder,
guys,
that this is the NZXT club cast.
So if you want to talk about other clubs,
you're more than welcome to do so.
I'm going to slash announcement.
So I'm going to slash announce.
here in the podcast one little thing that we just did like 10 minutes ago well I didn't do it
sue he did it because we told them to do it because that's that's his job in the server is uh we now
have the uh australia regional channel good a night a shrimp on the barbies that was also terrible
let's put another shrimp on the bobby watch out for them drop bears you don't sound anything like
well watch out there's two ruse fighting on the side of the road a dingo ate my baby
The water spins kind of clockwise there.
We have flip tables, flip tables who's on the cam team actually reached out to it.
Because a couple weeks ago, we made an announcement on our company Slack channel, you know,
that we have these regional Discord channels and different various employees are kind of overseeing them.
And if any employee wants to make a channel for their region, we'd be more than happy to get them set up.
So, you know, they can interact more with their community.
Yep.
And flip tables, he stood up, man.
He's like, I'll do it.
Yeah, I mean, he's always in the server anyway,
so I was going to expect him to do it.
But I was like, I want him to come to me.
He's always in the server when I'm in there,
because I'm on there really early.
Yeah.
I go on like 5 in the morning,
and he's always chatting in there.
I love that.
Yeah.
I love seeing employees in the server
because I know it's important to have, like, you know,
like a presence there.
So, funny story about that.
I was walking through the warehouse yesterday,
as it tend to do when, like,
I'm like, I'm like brain dead and I need to think about stuff and I don't want to be in the office.
I'll go through the warehouse and I was shipping some stuff out for some of the contests that we do.
And it was a, it was an NXT shirt.
And one of the guys in the warehouse was like, hey, man, how'd get one of those shirts?
I'm like, join the Discord server.
It's like, you can't just give me one?
I'm like, no.
Like these shirts are for community.
When you be part of the community, you can get a free shirt or talk to HR.
Because like, it's like, I was asking I am about that.
And he's like, is that our budget is reserved for community.
It's only for community stuff
As much as we want to, you know,
give stuff to every single employee,
it's, you know,
it's,
we have to take care of that community first.
And I used to hook up the warehouse guys all the time.
Even,
and even,
I still do to a certain extent.
Like,
yeah,
you know,
I give them like limited edition stickers and whatnot.
But back in the olden days,
when I first started,
like,
making shirts and hoodies and stuff.
Yeah,
I would give everyone one
because there was only like 20 people in the company,
but now there's like way too many people.
I can't really,
or we can't really,
um,
just give it.
everyone, you know, a free hoodie even though we want to.
Those things are expensive.
Someone has to pay for them.
Right, Amanda?
Comes out of my pocket specifically, so.
It comes out of your paycheck.
Sorry, just responding to our boy over here.
We're always working.
Yeah.
I guess Wes got done with this, with his ninja upgrade.
Alex, Alex sent some pictures.
Oh, did he?
Pucci's at Ninjas right now.
Oh, cool.
Are we allowed to share that or no?
Yeah.
Yeah, so, I mean, for those who don't know,
obviously or I guess not that obviously we do sponsor Ninja you know he's one of our our
partners on Mixer and uh our our partnerships guys and and and Alex who's like our
streaming guru here in the office traveled the ninja's house uh I mean palace and uh helped
them upgrade his PC and get him all set up with the new stuff so you know we we take
care of our partners and uh we have some photos of a poochie at ninja's place so it's pretty
cool you know um so yeah okay Amanda let's keep going okay so what's your day-to-day like you
you wake up what was the first thing you do when you get to the office first thing I do
when I get in the first thing you do well I sit down at my desk and then I go on Trello to the
50 million boards we have and I just start going through and figuring out you know what am I
going to do today and actually I would I would delete that one because I don't know what's
out in the background here.
Sorry, just real quick.
Go on, Amanda.
Just talking to Ivan here.
Don't mind us.
Just pretend we're not here.
I mean, I just hang out in the Discord, look through the moderator team, see if there's
anything that needs my attention.
And, yeah, just community-related activities.
What kind of community-related activities?
Well, so we just started doing regular blog content.
I don't know if we want to talk about that, but.
maybe a little bit later in the podcast.
But then, you know, I'm working on all sorts of projects.
So we have a special super secret event that we're working on for the Discord server that I'm going to tease.
I'm going to tease it a little bit.
I love super secret events.
It's going to blow everyone's minds when we do it.
But for now, all I'll say is a cool event that everyone will be able to participate in and get some cool stuff and
turn. So we're working on that and I'm also working on some, you know, other different ideas.
I don't know how much I can share here. So I don't want to say too much, but a lot of really
cool ideas for the community. I just come in and I just open up my millions of Google Docs and
decks and just start throwing information in there, going into 50 million meetings with Ivan
and Dennis every day. And yeah, that's my day to day.
Yeah. How long have you been here at NST?
I started last May as a contractor.
Wow.
Then November, I switched over to a full-time employee.
But I also was a temp employee before that.
So contractor, temp employee, then full-time.
But it's been just about a year since I've actually been technically working for NST.
Almost a year, huh?
Yeah, almost a year?
Almost a year.
Yeah.
It feels weird thinking about that because, like, I feel like I just got here.
I know.
I know.
That's how I feel, too.
It feels like the year just went by like so quickly.
The time was really slow for me.
You guys make it drag on.
Whoa.
Thanks to that.
I haven't appreciate it.
When you guys build yourselves up,
I have to remind you and bring you down.
That's what I do.
Nice.
I don't think you ever build ourselves up.
That's what I look for in a boss.
Yeah.
Just someone to keep you grounded and beat you down every now.
Tear me down.
Someone has to.
My little be me.
And what was the last project that you worked on?
This is like pretty much.
the same question.
No.
I mean, I guess, I guess we already talked about it, right?
The revolving chat or the topic of the month.
Yeah, we can say that is the last one, yeah.
Yeah.
I like the idea of having the topic of the month because we have a lot of people asking
for a lot of servers, right?
We should have a channel for this and for that and for that.
And my response is like, we always actually be active because the most active is
general.
And sometimes, you know, it could be a little slow.
You know, random is a bunch of memes, right?
gaming isn't always the most active either
so it's like you guys on another channel to
not talk about stuff so
we with the help of the
mod team who really did most of the
work you know kind of outlining
everything came up with topic of the month
and every month we're going to have a revolving
channel with all kinds of cool stuff to talk about
I want to make the channels actually might stick around
if they're active enough yes
that's an important one that's the rumor
so they say
and please make sure to suggest
anything that you would like to see.
Like if you guys
Not to us.
Yeah.
Not to us.
To the revolving chat team.
Yes.
To all the mods.
Just bug them.
Or any of the mods.
Yeah.
And they'll relay the message.
Just tag the moderators in general and ask.
They love that.
I hear.
But they're like, oh,
oh boy,
I got another tag.
I wonder what someone wants to say now.
It's always something really positive, right?
No one ever tags them on to say,
I love you.
True.
Someone's going to tag monitor.
I love you.
And it's probably the most important question.
What's it like working with me and Ivan, with Ivan Dennis?
Well, I sit at my desk and I overhear you guys trying to create memes.
You know, you keep begging to be in our secret meme chat.
As a joke, I don't want to be in there.
No, we tell you, you can come join us in the meme chat when you actually come up with a meme.
That's never going to happen.
So I've already conceded.
I'm like, that's fine.
Unless.
I think you have a meme.
You have a meme in you.
I feel it.
Do I?
You just talking,
you can just pick some things out
and it's meme worthy.
We did that yesterday.
Yeah.
I think you have a good meme in you.
We should probably throw it out tonight.
I don't see how that one goes.
If that one slaps,
I want credit.
Well,
it's not really credit because you didn't come up
with them and you just said something.
But I said it.
it was my word.
If you want credit, you will never get credit from us.
That's how it works.
Guys, it's literally how it.
So to answer the question, she absolutely hates working with us.
Yes, exactly.
No, it's a good time.
Like we were talking about earlier, we all balance each other out.
So I feel like the switch was really good.
And working, you know, in the pit with you guys, just being able to turn around and just talk about anything, bug you.
Yes, excessively.
Turns around, hey, you guys want to do a meeting right now?
Sure, let's go.
We have so many projects.
I know.
It calls for a lot of meetings.
Yeah, definitely does.
But yeah, the answer to the question is, you know, it's fun.
It's a really good time.
Who do you like more Dennis or me?
You can't ask me that.
It's me.
He just did.
It's Ivan.
I know how you feel.
What's it like in Dennis's car?
Is it clean or dirty?
It's actually really clean.
Really?
He keeps it tidy in there, yeah.
Is it true that you're the one that keeps messing with his license plate?
No, someone's messing with your license plate?
You haven't seen that?
No.
Take you look at his license plate next time.
Next time we go out, just check it out.
Yeah, someone's messing with me.
Someone's goofing and gaffing on me.
Just like someone keeps messing with the clothes on the mannequin in the front office.
Yeah, it's really weird.
I don't know, but it's weird.
Like, I walk in like early in the morning and the mannequin has like his like cheeks out.
And I'm like, who is pulling the pants down this mannequin?
We're another sick NZXT gear.
It's really weird.
It's Mike, our old intern, he comes in here every morning, sneak it in here.
He flies down from the cues, as he says, right?
Close down the mannequin cheeks and then he flies back.
Actually, speaking of Mike, I do have some Mike News.
Oh.
Yeah, so as some of you might know.
Hold up, hold up, hold up.
Mike News, this calls for a special theme.
Hot off the presses, we have some breaking in Mike News.
Inter Mike.
We have just confirmed that our,
previous intern Michael Kim is in fact Otto the Orange at Syracuse University.
Oh wait he was he was the Syracuse University mascot you say?
Yeah, it was a big secret and I guess once he graduated they unveiled it so yeah that's it.
I am shocked. I'm trying to upload the picture. Yeah it didn't that's weird.
Yeah, so for those they don't know, Syracuse University is a university in New York in the United States
and they have a mascot called Otto the Orange and apparently nobody knows who the orange is until the end of the year where he's unveiled and there's like a fraternity of autos who like talk to each other or something.
I don't get school stuff.
Apparently they all have auto tattoos on their butt.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, supposedly it's like one of the things.
Yeah, they all have a tattoo of Otto.
I asked him a million times.
Can he show me?
In the office, too.
He's like in the opposite.
He's like in the opposite.
Man,
show me your butt.
One of the reasons I hired him for my intern is because I wanted him to make a
poochy costume.
He could walk around and stuff.
But then when he told me how much it cost,
I was like,
okay,
we're not going to do that.
Yeah,
no,
it's really expensive.
I think it was like,
he's like it's going to cost like $16,000.
I'm like,
and it takes like six months or something.
I'm like,
what?
Like,
really?
He says it takes like a year or more to make it.
It's like,
yeah,
it's got to be custom fiv.
I'm going to wear it.
If I'm going to wear it.
I wonder if that's what the dude for the Disney mascots, you think?
Maybe.
I don't know.
Or is it like a one-size-fits-all kind of thing?
I can't tell.
Because like, there's got to be more than one Mickey, right?
It's going to be like at least four or five Mickey.
So like, is it the same costume?
Is it different costumes?
Like this is, this is Ivan's Mickey and this is Dennis's Mickey.
And Ivan's like way tall and I am.
So maybe he can't be a Mickey, but I can.
What do you think the height requirement of a Mickey is?
You can be whatever you want to be.
height requirement
Mickey's a little he's tall
Is he tall? He's taller I think
Not as tall as goofy but he's pretty tall
But maybe it's like platform boots you know
We're like you just strap on the
Mickey feet now? No I believe
During the process where you're like
You know
interviewing or whatever you call it
They actually
Have to measure you
And know your height for specific characters
So I don't think they
I don't think they add to your height
I think you just have to fit the mold for it.
Ah, yeah.
Interesting.
So you can never do it.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry I told you.
You should make Amanda wear a poochie costume.
She'd be like bouncing around doing like.
Live on the podcast, I quit.
Breaking news.
Breaking news.
You wouldn't wear a poochie costume?
I would do it.
Yeah?
I would do it.
Good.
Good answer.
All right.
So I'm looking at these.
It would be an honor, honestly.
I'm looking at these questions and I feel like we already answered a lot of these in her
outline now.
Um, let's see.
He was really blasted through all these.
Some of them we haven't.
Yeah, some of these.
How about, okay, how is Amanda?
How about you read out the question, you answer it yourself?
No.
This is your job.
No, it's not.
Yes, it is.
So Amanda, how active are you in the Discord server?
I feel like the community would probably be able to answer this.
I would say I'm decently active.
Very recently with all the projects and stuff we're working on,
I haven't been able to pop in as much as possible.
but, you know, I'm pretty active.
If I'm not actively chatting, I'm still reading comments.
I'm still reading people's messages.
It's almost like, it's like an idle thing to, like, I'll just be doing something and I just pick up my phone and the first thing I open is Discord.
Like, I just have to see what people are saying and doing in the Discord.
You're always shocked, right, at what goes on in there?
Sometimes.
Sometimes I'm shocked.
Sometimes I hear Amanda mumbling.
She's like, what the heck?
Why is this happening?
I'm talking about this.
Our community's wild, man.
They're wild.
Yeah.
Some wild kids in the server.
Yeah.
Some of all the adults, too.
It's not just kids.
True.
It's herb buddy.
Alan is just crazy.
The stuff he does,
can't believe it.
Yeah, I can't believe either.
What are you working on to improve the server right now?
A lot of stuff.
So, yeah.
So back to the modern.
team just some structure and having people have different responsibilities so everything can get done versus who's your favorite moderator oh I can't answer that I first of all the reason why I can't answer it is not because I can't I feel like I can't say it you don't know their names because I don't know any of their names and I never talk no uh is because I love all the mods so I really don't want to put anyone above anyone else no I I seriously I that's that's that's the
real answer. I don't have a favorite
mod. They all suck.
I was kidding.
Good answer.
Actually, here's a
question. What makes a good
moderator? What makes a good moderator?
We've talked about this
a few times. Yeah. So for all
those people out there
wanting to apply or become a moderator
at some point, you have to
have solid leadership
skills. You have to be
able to make judgment
calls in the moment
and, you know, read gray area, read tone, read context,
and just be able to be fair, but also, you know, stick to the rules.
Set a good example.
Set a really good example because the thing about being a moderator
is not as simple as reprimanding people in the server for breaking the rules, right?
Right.
It's you need to be a great community member at your core and then build on that.
So also take on the mod responsibilities and also, you know,
a huge thing that we look for is people who can bring new and exciting things into the server
or are really passionate about community work. I think that's also something that's really important.
And yeah, I mean, just being everyone's friend, but also knowing when you need to, you know,
come down on someone and, yeah, hold them, hold them to the rules.
You know, yeah, that's, I would say it's one of the most important things actually is,
is knowing that not everybody's going to like you
because you are a moderator
and you do have to reprimand people.
You have to be the quote unquote bad guy
every now and then that you have to be okay
with people just being unhappy with you
and you're going too bad.
I made the right call for what's,
you know,
for what's,
made the right call for what's best for the community.
It's not a good sentence, but you know what you mean.
And I get messages all the time
from people who have been banned,
you know, telling me,
I shouldn't have been banned.
And then I look up their mod log
and it's like,
they'll have like 20 warnings
sometimes and it's just like the moderators are not just going to ban you for no reason you know they're
they're banning people that deserve to be banned so it's not fun banning people but i always tell
the people that get banned you know well i'm not going to unbanned you like no it's not it's not
yeah and people sometimes tell me like well it's not fair because i'm an nzxte customer and i spent
two thousand dollars on a computer or something i'll tell them the same thing like you're not going to
buy yourself back in here. We have our rules. And the server has nothing to do with how much money
you spend. How much money you spend? The server has it's all about, you know, being nice,
having fun and helping each other. And if you can't do that, it doesn't matter what computer you own.
It's, you know, you're still going to get banned. No matter what computer or what parts you own.
I think it's the most important part about that, right? Doesn't matter who you are.
But if you did give me $2,000, I will have paid you.
That's what I told people
You're hurting here first
You can buy back
I told them I'll give you a jail
Out of free card
Right
If you send me $500
Pay it probably showkey at gmail.com
What's funny to me too is that
There's also people who get banned
And then they create alts and come back
And to be honest
I don't care because
If they follow the rules
The second time around
And I don't know about it
Yeah
We don't condone
Ban evasion
Right
I know it happens
But we know it happens
But if you come back and you're better
then who cares, right?
Yeah.
It's like,
well,
I'm going to come back
and I'll be a good community member.
Okay.
Yeah.
Go for it,
do it.
Do it.
Come back and you're the same troll.
You're going to get banned again.
You're going to get banned anyway.
Our mods are pretty quick on that.
You get caught eventually.
Like,
it's like,
listen,
I'm going to admit it here.
I'm a world-class troll, right?
I've been around a few places here and there,
you know,
I've done my fair share of banning and getting bandeted.
Yeah, you can't hide for me.
I know who you are.
The funny part about it is people will ban evade and create a new account,
but they'll come back into the server with the exact same personality
and say the exact same things.
And then they think that we don't notice.
We do notice because we're watching what you guys do all the time.
So we get really familiar with each of your personalities and whatnot.
But on a personal note, we love you all.
Yeah, no, no, no.
We're going to ban you.
But we do love you.
We ban you out of love.
Okay.
What are we got here next?
What are the additions you added the server?
I mean, we've talked about that already, right?
The mod teams, we...
Rule changes.
Rule changes, rule clarifications.
Yeah, do you want to talk a little bit about the rule changes?
We haven't really discussed that.
Sure, let me pull them up on my phone.
Well, no, I think I should probably tell the backstory about this.
So, before Amanda was on the community team,
someone
messaged NZT
on Twitter
they replied to NZT tweet or something
I think they responded to you actually
or me I forget how it was but
they basically said
that you know why is
why is
I was just to say the word
I'm so scared to say the word now because Amanda is here watching
me
go ahead some guy said why is the word
gay banned on your server
and my response to him was
that
You know, we ban that word to prevent discussions about sex on the server.
And also because nine times out of ten from the past experience in the server when people use that word,
it's like it's not in a good way.
It's not like in the way it should be said.
It's literally like in a derogatory manner.
Yeah.
It's said in a derogatory manner that could potentially offend people.
And, you know, cyberbullying is a real thing that causes people to.
commit suicide sometimes and you know it's rather than have to deal with all that nonsense we
decided early on we're just going to ban certain words and that was one of the words and then amanda
yelled at us well she didn't yell at us but she she helped us understand she asked us okay um
what can we do so we can unbanned that word and actually make the community understand and
that's that's basically where she started kind of coming in and helping us with the community
and helping us teach the moderators about context
and when it's appropriate to say something,
when it's not, when it's appropriate.
And for the server, too, not just the mods.
Yeah.
And that's kind of how it all started with the manic coming on
and the rule changes.
She didn't yell at us, but she was a little upset, I will say, at first.
Yes, yes, I was.
She literally said, I am upset about this.
Yeah.
And then she didn't want to talk to me or Dennis the next day.
She was scared of us.
I was not.
And she brought Andy.
She brought Andy in his backup.
Andy come help me out.
You know, we told her, you know, we're not trying to argue with you.
We really do want you to help us.
And we want to help you.
And she believed us, thank God.
So that's how we ended up here today.
I think it's important to note that, like, if you do see a blocked word in the server,
so you try to type something that's seemingly fine and then it does get deleted,
it is for your well-being ultimately because as, you know, Ivan was saying,
a lot of these words can be used as a weapon and to make you feel bad and to make you feel
like you don't belong and that's the last thing we want.
So if we just don't have certain words available to everyone, it actually creates a more
inclusive environment and that's something that I didn't realize.
And I still think it's important to have context and to let people, you know, express themselves in different ways.
But ultimately, it's not to punish anyone or to make you feel like you don't belong.
The reality is it's to make you feel like you belong.
So other people don't target you because everyone is welcome in the server.
And that's really important.
Right.
Yeah.
Like it's funny.
It's actually one of the things that I kind of brought up to Ivan first.
Like, hey, like, why do we not allow this certain kind of thing?
thing. And the hard part is that we just, uh, it's going to sound really, really messed up,
right? But just didn't have time to really like teach everybody, right?
There's too many people. Yeah, yeah. There's a lot of people on the server. Uh, you know,
we, we like one of the reasons why I was brought on was supposed because I haven't had time
to do anything else other than just handle social media. So now that that's all I do now,
for the most part. I haven't has time to do more backend stuff, but it's still a lot of work.
Yesterday I made a presentation about a meme and then because I can't believe my boss made
spent all day making a presentation.
There's literally like six slides about a meme.
That's what makes Ivan great though.
We can't tell you what it is because like I don't really know what Ivan is working on half the time.
I'm sure I'll tell me if I ask him right, but I see him working on something because
doing a presentation.
I'm like, oh, like you must be doing something really important.
And it's like, here is a meme.
Here's why memes matter.
Yeah, pretty much.
But like now that we have an extra member of the team, we can start working on those things and start, you know,
addressing some of the concerns that we have within the community and you know i i've always felt it was
important to allow people to be themselves and express themselves right and it's also cool we have a
girl on the team yeah because diversity diversity is very important yeah and on the moderator team as
well you know it's imagine if like every single mod was like me or denners like this server would
be super bad yeah i know cannot imagine but that's why like you know b is also important too and in caro um
because they do add that
like sensitivity and kindness and patience
and yeah you know hearing people out and
I think that's important to balance out you know
Dennis and Ivan yes
especially than more women
well like I was
I was one of the
I don't say I was one of the people but like when we were looking for
moderators I told Ivan like we need to have some girls on the
moderate sorry some women on the moderation team
because I feel like it's very, very important that we have that other perspective, right?
Because I'm not a woman.
I don't know what it's like to grow up as a woman.
I can sympathize and they can listen to stories,
but ultimately I'll never know what it's like.
So we need people who can understand what it's like to live on the internet as a woman,
which I understand is not easy and not fun a lot of the time.
There's not a whole lot of space for it.
Yeah.
So be nice to everybody.
Everyone regardless.
Be nice to everybody.
Don't be rude.
Or we're going to ban you.
Or you will get banned.
Yeah.
I mean, we literally had people say like in general chat, hey, stop being rude or one of the
Mads will, or one of the mods will get rid of, we'll get rid of you.
We'll get rid of you.
What do you like and dislike most about the Discord server, Amanda, call people.
So.
Name names.
And why is it P.S.
You guys.
something that is really important for me is that like I always viewed the
Discord server as an experience that I've gotten from other Discord servers right so
super disjointed people respond every few hours or whatever and generally like
you know I mean it's it's a brand you know Discord server right so people don't
tend to be super engaged and talk a lot about a lot of different stuff or have
that community aspect it's like here's a lot of custom
in a Discord server, but are they interacting?
Right.
And then when I started, you know, being in the Discord more often,
I realized that that's really not the case here.
We actually do have a really active community.
And everyone is just great.
Like the thing I love most about the Discord server is our community members.
And the fact that they decide to go into the server every day
and look at, you know, what's new and decide to chat with other people.
That's awesome and that's something I really, really like.
One thing I dislike about the server is discouraging newbies,
the addition of newbies and making other people not feel welcome
by kind of like picking on them or trolling them because they're new.
That is unacceptable behavior in my opinion.
And I think we need to all be a lot nicer when new people join.
Because if our community is really awesome and we love our community,
the biggest thing that we want is for more people to join.
We want more activity.
And we can only get that by welcoming people.
So this is just something out there for everyone.
Please, if you see new people in chat, welcome them.
Say hi.
And tell them that they can definitely hang out here.
And tell them to ping the mods.
And tell them to incessantly ping the mods.
Yeah, always for everything.
I really don't like it when people are mean to newbies.
because at one point everyone was a newbie in the server, even me, although everyone is a newbie in my eyes.
And it's important, like, why, just because your role is higher than the server doesn't mean you're, you know, some better server member or whatever than someone who's new.
And if anything, I'll be meaner to you if you're an older member than a new member because you should know better by now.
Stop being rude.
I'm going to spank you.
Amanda, what's something you would add or remove from the Discord server?
Ooh.
Why is it PSU guy?
Why is it anime?
Well, I'll tell you why it's PSU.
No.
Is something I would add or remove to the server?
Well, a lot of the projects I'm currently working on are things.
Obviously, I want to add, right?
So those things are in the works and they will be added soon.
And you guys will understand why I'm so excited about them.
I don't want to talk about that too much, but some really interesting activities that we'll have going on.
Something I would remove from the server.
What is it, photography?
Crappy attitudes.
That's one thing I would definitely remove from the server as we were just talking about.
So Dennis, your band.
Okay.
Bye.
Bye.
Yeah.
No, I just, I want everyone to be super positive in the server.
And when I don't see that happening, that's something I obviously don't want.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
And what would you like to tell the Discord server?
That we love you.
Even though we ban and warn and mute you, we do love you and we do want you to participate in the server.
We promise the rules are not made to scare you away or to discourage you from talking or to make you feel like we're, you know, not letting you be yourselves.
It's just we have to protect the community.
But we do, we love all of you guys, every single one of you.
Except the newbies.
No, I'm just kidding.
Oh, moated.
Just kidding.
Don't repeat that.
All right.
And last question we're going to ask you from us.
What is your least and most favorite NZXT product?
I don't like this question.
I love this question.
That's my favorite.
I don't like it because I do not have enough hands-on experience with a large variety of our products to talk about this.
Like, I love my case.
What case you have?
the H510 I.
I really like the H1 and I wish I had one because I think it's just
I love you to wish they had one.
It's cute.
I really, really like it.
My least favorite, I don't have a least favorite product.
Like I just don't have enough experience with enough products to have a least favorite, I think.
Which means I would appreciate if you would send me products so I can have an opinion.
The correct answer is Andy's mustache.
Okay.
You know what?
I'll agree to that.
Stop playing with it.
It's weird.
It is weird.
He almost chews it, right?
Like, he's like this close to like being able to chew in his own mustache and I don't like it.
It's gross.
Sorry, Andy.
All right.
We got some questions from the community here.
All those in chat.
So, by the way, if you are listening to this on SoundCloud, Apple Podcast, Google Podcasts, or Spotify,
We do record this podcast live every single Thursday at 10 a.m. Pacific Ivan time.
Yep.
And we have different guests every week from different departments in ZXT.
We also have community members on here.
Special guests as well.
And we're trying to get some special guests in here, some famous people, hopefully.
Yeah.
You have Ninja talk about.
What did you say to me a little?
No, no.
Question.
What's it like having to work with Den the Clown?
Darkie wants to ask.
I think you already can't already answer that a little bit.
I'll answer that.
Okay.
I hate it.
I'll answer.
Dennis is one of my favorite people, so it's pretty great.
Got him.
Got him.
Dennis is always having fun, but sometimes he does have a little too much fun, but he's learning to when I guess he should have less fun.
I already see growth there, too.
Yeah.
I needed a savage, but.
Not that savage.
No, it's like, you got rid of that one.
It's easier to teach someone to be less savage than to teach someone to be more savage.
So that's what I liked about Dennis was, you know, I knew he had it in him to be that savage that I needed.
But I also knew he had it in him to kind of grow as a human being and like not be a savage all the time.
So, you know, he's definitely like shown me that he's improved a lot in terms of the savagery.
Like, you know, at first it was just couldn't wait to like, he was like a like a, like a.
Pitbull had like hold him back down boy down boy but he would like love clapping on people
that is that is derogatory towards pit bulls yes please do not use pit bulls in your example but
I had to teach him you don't roast people and clap back after the second time not the first
time second time yeah swipples or swipples pit bulls are actually super sweet dogs yeah uh okay
question who is the best worker currently and why is it me who is the best worker currently who is the
best worker currently.
The entire warehouse is the best worker.
Yeah, I think the entire office and warehouse.
Everyone works super hard and it's noticeable.
Like I don't have, there's no like best person.
Everyone's doing their jobs and they're doing their jobs well.
Except I've in.
How's it been being an admin?
Have you enjoyed it?
This is from Darkie.
I do enjoy it.
It's been great.
The mods embraced me, like, almost instantly.
I kind of, like, went straight into it and started, you know, messing with things and, you know, having my opinions in chat and everything.
Like, but it was so easy for me to jump right in because it's something I'm so used to, right?
All you had to do was beat Vivian in a fight.
Yeah.
Vivian would destroy me.
I already know this.
Mommy versus mom.
You think so?
Yeah.
I think she's like.
secretly like
yeah she
tough
she would
she would just shoot you
with pain balls
oh that does not
sound please don't do that
I'm pretty sure it's airsoft
and then stuff snacks
down your throat
yeah no she would win for sure
but I'm okay with that
stuff snacks down your throat
sounds scary
um question for den and Ivan
do you think Amanda has slotted well
into the admin team
for sure
100%
like uh no doubt
even before she was an admin
She's telling us what to do.
She was giving us so much feedback on the server, suggestions for improvement, ideas for the community.
So even before she was an admin, she was already showing me that, Dan, she definitely has the right community spirit, mindset.
Experience.
The poppy mentality.
I learned a lot from working with her for sure.
Yeah.
And as soon as she became an admin, it was like the changes were in the fix.
and all that stuff happened pretty quick.
She didn't like to waste time.
It really made me go dang.
We're all about speed.
Speed and efficiency.
As soon as she came in, I was like, man, I got to pick up my game, do I'm lagging.
Alan wants to know, what was your best accomplishment for the time you turned 18?
Surviving to 18.
Same here.
Think about that.
Think about how many years you've been alive.
It's an accomplishment just surviving.
And especially with all the things in the world.
So that's my biggest accomplishment.
Mine was probably actually getting into college because I was a horrible student.
And I didn't even want to go to college.
But my parents kind of forced me in a way.
And they just told me, if you don't go to college, we're going to, like, kick you out.
And I was like, I guess I'm going to college.
So the way that I got into college, too, was kind of weird because I got D's and C's.
F's in high school. And then one day, there was a college recruiter on campus, just having
people apply on campus. This was like back before you had to apply on computers. You had to apply
like, you know, the paper, pencil. And I just did it. What's a pencil? For some reason, they accepted
me. But I think that, I was kind of shocked. I wasn't really, I didn't really feel accomplished,
but it's an Apple product. I was like, wow. At least I did something good, I think. Yeah.
And then I did really bad in college.
Oh, well.
My was just, I hate school, yeah.
My mom was just graduating and getting a job pretty much.
Like after, I think I told us it.
So after I graduated high school, I was, I'm a product of the North Child Left Behind Act.
So I pretty much passed because it just threw me through it.
And I just was, I didn't like school.
I didn't like the way it structured.
I'm just really bad at that kind of stuff.
I'm bad at homework.
Like with me, it's like once I'm done, I'm done, right?
Like, once I'm home, I'm home.
Don't bother me.
And I just played Dota on the Warcraft 3 for like three months.
And my dad came out and yelled at me.
He's like, if you don't get a job or go to school, I'm kicking you out.
I'm like, okay.
So I got a job at C's candies.
Nice.
Yeah, that's my first job.
No wonder you like that candy.
That can't eat horrible.
What?
I don't like it at all.
It's because you're picking the wrong ones.
You get to get the good ones.
Yeah.
Okay.
But if it's good quality chocolate, should it all be good?
No.
Yes.
Right.
No, because it filled with garbage half a time.
Exactly.
So it's like it's a gamble.
It's like you have a box of seize candy.
Don't buy these sort.
Okay, if you're buying these sorted box and you're doing it wrong.
Don't sell the assorted.
What have we done?
You sell these sorted because idiots will buy it, right?
It's the same reason why you buy, I don't know, like anything that's a terrible buy, but people buy it anyway.
I have a question.
Yes.
If I buy Godiva or lint or something like that and the entire assorted box is delicious, what does that say about C's candy?
I don't know.
Yeah.
And it's perfectly good.
It's no problem with it.
It's just like our airflow.
It's just like N60 Airflow.
It is adequate for most chocolate use cases.
All right.
Next question is, what's your favorite crazy gaming peripheral that you've seen?
Ooh, I got one.
You go for it then.
What Andy did at Pax last week, he took the new H1 mini PC,
and he hooked it up to the world's ultimate gaming set.
up and it was like this like futuristic chair oh yeah yeah yeah it's like so crazy um i saw it i
was like i don't know if i like it or hate it but it's weird so i guess i'll take it yeah do you see that
the license like didn't for half a second i didn't see that that's scary um crazy gaming peripheral
uh you know i think i think the game boy has some really weird peripherals like i had a i had a
combination. This is for like my old Game Boy color before they added backlights on it. So it was like a little light thing right? No, no no. It's even worse. It's in clamps onto it and it's a magnifying glass almost with the light attached. I never had that. So so so so so it makes it makes a screen look bigger. Yeah. And it also has a light on it. It's like double. That's weird. I only had like the little light things. I didn't have that. Uh, see, magnifying. That's a good question. What's your favorite game boy?
current game boy the advance
the advance was my favorite too
the original was yours okay okay I respect
I think it was a game changer
yeah because you had pretty much like
almost console quality ish games
in your in your pocket
yeah no I the advance was my favorite
the see-through advance I just played Tetris
did you also play sneak
yeah I'm putting in the chat
I had this guy right here
this guy was sick it was
oh you also had really weird peripherals too
then it's 10064
Like they had the they had like the the the microphone so you can talk to Pikachu in Hey You Pikachu or whatever was called and then they also had a lot of stuff with like the back I mean just that controller in general was kind of like a mess there is a documentary I want to see about the power glove
The power glove it's so bad
But it's so bad but if you had a power glove at least for me growing up if you had a power glove you were like the cool kid
I never had one yeah there was cool enough yeah I'm pretty sure yeah the transatlose yeah the transatless yeah the transatl
for a pack with the K, P-A-K,
and then also had a,
it's like the rumble packs
you would put into the bottom of the controller.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Really weird, yeah.
They're a lot of weird stuff.
Now you're playing with power.
Well, everything was just really chunky plastic.
Yeah.
Like, that was just, that was the 90s,
was like the thickest plastic you could,
you could possibly have on everything.
It's part of why it could sustain, like, like, bombs and stuff like that.
There's this, uh, yeah.
There's this a Game Boy in a library that, like,
apparently was, like, in Kuwait or Afghanistan or something in,
in, like, the 90s.
And like it's all burnt up, but it still works.
Wow.
Game Boy, I'm going to look it up a quick.
I mean, they were made to last.
You have to give them that.
The Nintendo Game Boy survived the goal for.
And it literally, I'm going to jump a picture in the chat.
But it's literally like this burnt up Game Boy that survived a bombing.
And it still works.
You can still play Tetris on it.
So I have a favorite game.
A couple weeks ago, we were in a median.
And then I said, hold on.
I had a Game Boy in my pocket.
Yeah.
I took my game.
Really?
I was like, what is that?
You know what a real game if you don't have a game boy in your pocket?
Okay, wait, so I have to ask a question then.
Did you ever play Pokemon?
No, I hate Pokemon.
Oh, okay, okay.
Then never mind.
I hate Pokemon.
Me and Dennis just bonded over the fact that we both picked Pokemon blue over red.
And that is one of my favorite things about Dennis.
That wasn't my first Game Boy game, though.
My first Game Boy game was Link's Awakening DX.
Because the first Game Boy I ever got was a Gameboy color.
I think have the original Game Boy.
And when I went to the store, which back in the day was Toys R Us is where you got your video games, right?
It's before Walmart was like really big.
And I'm like, all right, cool, I got a Game Boy Color.
It does color.
That's why you want this.
He has color.
And we go to the counter and ask Elaine and the front, like, hey, I want to buy a video game from a Game Boy Color.
It's cool.
It's like, you should buy this one.
It's one of the most popular game.
It's Pokemon.
And I'm like, you idiot, the box doesn't say Game Boy Color on it.
Give me Zelda because it says color on the box.
That didn't know it was backwards compatible.
Oh my God.
Right.
But what was your starter, though?
My starter, unfortunately, was Charmander.
Come on.
It was the worst one you can choose.
Squirtle was mine.
Squirrel is not good either because...
Excuse me?
I went through blue with just squirrel.
Because one of the first bosses or whatever you fight is like, it's like leaf, no?
Leaf or water.
I don't remember, but I remember...
You do like Brock and Misty first.
But I breeze through all the gyms with Squirrel.
Like it did.
didn't even matter. He was O.P.
Like, I don't, I don't care what anyone says.
He was, he was the best.
I'm looking at Pokemon Blue Jims.
Peter City with his rocks, Surrelian City
with his water, Vermilion City, which is
grass, I believe, right?
Well, the thing is, there's always going to be a gym
no matter what starter you have where you're
weak to it, but he was, but Squirtle
was still really strong for all of the other gyms.
Like, all right.
I don't know, man. I don't know. I know. I have to,
we have to take this outside after, so let's just
continue.
cashed me outside.
I know that it got screwed over by that.
All right.
When can we see more Ask Pucci on Instagram?
Last time we did it, it was amazing.
Oh, Ask Pucci.
I think that was a mic and griff thing.
That's when they had time to answer questions.
Yeah, we should do more.
Yeah, we should.
Just take all the community stuff off my plate and then I'll do more,
more Poochie stuff on Instagram.
Sure.
That's, to be honest, that's part of the thing is that like,
there's only so much time.
Right. And we had to prioritize. And I would rather spend time on the Discord than on Instagram answering questions.
Even though there are a lot of people who are on Discord that are on our Instagram, I'd rather spend time talking to people in real time and interacting with them than, you know, stuck on Instagram DMs.
But if I had all the time in the world, I would do everything, even Twitter DMs.
Next question from Magnumosity. How long are you at the NZXT?
me and Amanda have been working here about the same time almost a year in May Ivan's been here since the dawn of time
One month
One month
Ivan is a fossil
What do you do at NCXT?
I'm social media specialist
Amanda is
Community specialist and Ivan is
Poppy
There you go
Yep
Do you like Pucci giving you a flower?
Love it
Love it's the best
How has it been working at?
Who came up with that Pucci flower by the way?
I don't know
I don't know but it's adorable
It came up last night
I saw it on Discord like at 9
PM and while we're always here while we're talking about that I would love to see someone start making 8 bit poochie art
I wouldn't no 16 bit it's 16 bit even yeah 2 bit 30 whatever bit 64 bit just retro poochie please I'm dying to see that if we have another design well we're gonna have another design contest I really want to see retro poochie wait we are do spoilers I mean it's monthly okay okay Alex wants to know how has it been working at nzxtee how is
a working environment.
The culture here is pretty much
foster community, which makes it a nice
environment.
All gamers and all webs.
Everyone is just super nice.
You can say hi to anyone.
The area where we work is super open
except Ivan.
It's a little too open for my taste sometimes.
Sometimes it gets a little loud.
Yeah.
So I put up my white noise generator.
At the worst time.
That's not a nice thing to call Amanda.
Oh.
Ouch.
Oh, what is your PC specs, Amanda, from Magnumosity?
So, I'm glad you asked.
Here we go.
Here we go.
No, it's actually a super quick answer, so it's not that quick.
Did you drop a picture of Amanda set up in the chat?
When I moved here, I actually didn't, I didn't want to lug my PC at home all the way over here because I moved across country.
So I gave my PC to my brother
And then I built an entirely new PC over here
This is before I worked for NXT
And I only spent I think it was like $800
And I got a pretty decent build
I got a 1070 and an I7
And I have it like in AIS's motherboard
I think it's a Republic of Gamers
Or whatever it is
And
Yeah
A ton of SSDs that are like
Let's think about your setup
your setup. I think is insane. What the heck? Is everyone looking at it? Yeah, we just posted it on the podcast
channel. Yeah, so that's not, I didn't have anything to do with that. That's my girlfriend. She
just built the entire setup herself. Yeah. Super handy. You know, you might as well just put a tool belt on
her. She just like, you know, going all over the walls and underneath the desk and like hiding all
the wires. Like she did everything for that. Hey, where are the cables?
She did such a good job
You can't find them
We even have blackout like paper
Underneath the dust
So when you're looking further away
Oh wow
You can't even see the cable trays
Underneath the desk
Because she has them hidden
That's crazy
Yeah she did an amazing job
If anyone would like
Her expertise
I'm actually funny
That we you mentioned that
Because I was actually mentioning to Amanda
That she should have her girl
Make another separate Instagram
Just for like
fixing up people's setups.
I think it's a great idea.
Yeah, doing it as like a side business because I,
because I was like,
hey,
how much you charge for this stuff?
I don't want to do it.
Sounds like a blog post.
I mean,
ooh,
okay,
that's a good idea.
Let's talk about the blog.
Yeah,
we never talked about the blog.
What are you doing here, Amanda?
Are we really talking about the blog?
Yeah.
Okay,
so we're starting to have some new content on the blog,
weekly.
So Mondays,
we're going to have set up of the week.
Tuesdays,
we will have a product.
Spotlight. So you can, you know, we're going to have photos and information about all our different
products old and new. Wednesdays we're going to do wallpaper of the week, which is a new contest we're
doing. And then we're going to do our normal podcast blog. And then we're also going to have a new
news series called Pucci Press, which is going to take place on the blog every single Friday. So you can
get like all of the latest information of what's happening in the community all in one place. And
And it's going to be awesome.
And we're going to be adding like some one-off content on there too.
So some different ideas for some articles and stuff.
Maybe guest writers.
Maybe guest writers.
Maybe opening up submissions for the community is like an idea.
Yeah.
So if you have any ideas for what you would like to see on the NZXT blog, please DM me and let me know.
I would be happy to take a look at your suggestions.
Or if you have something that you would, you know, like to be posted on the blog,
something that you wrote, talk to us about that too.
There we go.
Perfect.
All right.
So Amanda's set up is great.
Also, related to the blog, Amanda's going to be working on the community newsletter.
Yes.
Oh.
So every week, she'll be sending out a newsletter.
You can sign up by going to the blog and the window pops up.
You can sign up.
But we'll be sitting on a newsletter about all the shenanigans going on in the community.
Yeah.
About a work, Amanda.
I get to work.
All right, bye.
Gotta go.
Nick's Prime wants to know.
Do you actually play games at NZXT work every day or sometimes?
So that's an interesting thing.
I actually never really play games in the office.
But we have played games as a company.
Like we did do a little tournament recently.
Where Ivan showed us all his MLG Pro CSGO skills.
and he wiped the floor.
I like to keep things exciting.
Keep people entertained.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Surprise everyone.
I thought he was an old man.
I am an old man.
I saw one around.
We were looking at the spectator.
Dude bought a Zeus.
Yeah.
It's like, please tell peace, please let him get to kill with the Zeus.
It would be so great.
I bought a Zeus and I told my teammates, I have a Zeus.
Let me lead.
Follow me.
Rush B.
I was going to do some more.
Rush be, no armor.
The best part about that whole tournament is that the feed we were watching
and the cafe was delayed.
I think I think that was the, I think I said it's last week.
So like, you'll be playing and something to happen.
Yeah, yeah, five seconds later, oh, you're like, oh, no, shut up, you're spoiling it for me.
Yeah, after that first match we played, I'm taking my headset off and then like a second later
I hear like, oh, everyone's coming out.
That's the most exciting match.
That was so cool.
And then after one of the matches,
it was literally like 20 or 25 people
just coming out of the cafe,
just like all super excited.
I think that's when I couldn't find the bomb.
I couldn't find the bomb.
I saw that.
And Dom was like,
we had a comeback.
We were like down like six rounds or something.
And then Dom said,
we have to win out, man.
And they said,
say no more fan.
I got you.
I couldn't find the bomb.
And I defuse it with like half a second left.
It was pretty amazing.
No kit, by the way.
So clutch.
I know. I remember when I had a defuse a bomb and I had a kid out of practice, I didn't buy a freaking kid.
That was fun. So bad. We're going to have another tournament soon. Yeah, 27th, I think, I saw. Yeah, 27th. I already requested the night off from my wife. Nice. I'm glad that she gave you some vacation time. I didn't say she accepted it. Oh. I was requested. I'm glad that she's in review. It's like a, it's like we're going to retail. It's like time off requests are just that. The requests. Yeah, that's true. To me, I've always.
treated time off requests at like especially working in retail it's like I'm not going to be here
that day you better plan ahead because like you don't pay me enough for me to like not come in
or you know when I don't want to essentially which sounds kind of weird but like I feel like retail
yeah retail is so bad and I feel like they they don't treat you like people they treat you like
working machines yeah exactly yeah so like I would always make it very clear wait you guys aren't
working machine nope definitely not I'm a video game machine baby but but I would always make it clear
Hey, I'm going to put a time off request.
It's not a request.
I'm not going to be here.
If you can handle that, then let me know so I can find another job.
And they're like, I'll like to cut your jib.
Don't come in tomorrow.
Okay.
Next question is, who is your favorite worker N-Z-T?
So we were going to talk about that because I'm already named me and Ivan already named me.
So I'm going to ask all of us who is our unsung hero of the week in the office?
Unsung hero of the week.
I'm going to say.
I'm going to go first and say Sam in the warehouse
Because I bug Sam every single week
Almost every day
About shipping out all these prizes
That were giving away all of a sudden
And sometimes I'll mess up
And like hey Sam where this thing going?
He's like I can't find it
Like oh then maybe I didn't send it
And then I'll send it that day
But Sam's great helps us out a lot with acumenica
Which Amanda is going to learn super soon
And yeah no
Sam's great I love Sam
Hopefully he's listening
or someone who's listening can go bugging Sam.
Thank you, Sam, for all your help.
Mine is Ivan.
Really?
Yeah.
Why's that?
A lot of reasons.
A lot of reasons.
Just, you know, just guiding me, helping me all week.
Yeah.
You drive me crazy.
All right, that's all for me today.
Thanks for joining us.
Ivan, was your...
I'm going to say the newest addition to our marketing team, Mike from Discord, who joined us.
Mike's a goofball.
Yeah, he's cool.
I noticed he's a goober, for sure.
Yeah, he's our new marketing operations person.
And we never had a marketing operations person here.
And he's going to hopefully take a lot of the stuff he learned marketing and marketing over at Discord
and applying those same learnings here and helping us continue to grow and do bigger and better things.
He'll be on the podcast soon.
Nice.
We're going to make them be on the podcast.
I already have a funny story about him.
So yesterday, after you guys left, I'm walking by his desk and he left his monitor on.
So I was going to welcome him by like, you know, tweet it or email himself or something.
And I go up there and it's like literally his bank account.
Like his thing is like, oh, man.
So I locked it for him rather than messing with the question.
Was it a lot?
I didn't look at the numbers.
I just saw Bank of America and I was like, let me lock this.
Vivian is actually the ones like, oh, well, then you mess with it.
She wanted to transfer
Transfer money or something
I don't want to know if Mike brought everyone a Wumpus
No he did not
Do you want to relay your funny story about Mike?
I don't know if you want to talk about that one
Where you got to email from Discord
Oh oh oh well it's kind of weird to talk about
But basically I emailed the staff at Discord
About something
Yep
And it was something with a very serious tone to it
It was more of like a report.
And it was like a regular template email.
And then I'm just reading through it.
I'm like, okay, they're taking this seriously great.
And then at the very end I see PS, like say hi to Mike Newton or hi Mike Newton.
I'm just like, okay.
Interesting.
Some people know, yeah.
It's pretty cool.
Funny, we've had a two people now, right, who are with us here in ZXT from Discord.
Are there anymore?
Evan, do you know?
I think it's just Mike and Eros.
Right.
I have a couple of blizzard employees,
ex-Blizzard employees as well.
We're stealing everybody.
Got a lot of spice.
Yeah, a lot of spice all of a sudden.
It's very tasty.
All right.
What was the question?
I forgot.
Oh, what game did you never finish but wish you had?
Mine is Knights of the Republic.
Never finished it.
My entire Steam library.
Seriously?
But to be more specific, Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Is that why your name is Odyssey Girl on Twitter?
No.
It's actually not.
Everyone thinks my name is either Mario Odyssey or Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
I just love Mario so much.
I made the username like six years ago.
And it's Tank Girl and Riot Girl together because there is a comic for Tank Girl called Tank Girl, the Odyssey.
And I read it and I really liked it.
So I used that for my name.
And then, cool movie, but girl.
Yeah, I actually really like that movie.
Some people hate on it.
It's a good movie.
It's a good movie.
It's a good time.
And yeah.
So the G RRRRL is Riot Girl.
I just thought you were a really big fan of Homer's Odyssey.
Why do you really love like just old literature?
I mean, I do.
Homer Girl.
Homer Girl.
Oh, my God.
I never, I didn't really fully answer the question.
I don't think.
What game did you never finish but wish you had?
So Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Skyrim, never finished it.
I feel like I could never play Skyrim again.
I feel like I just still got the full experience.
I tried replaying it like 20 times because it keeps coming out on every single platform.
You know, and...
Kind of on Switch so I can swing my arms like an idiot.
Yeah, I just, I couldn't get to the point of finishing that game.
But some of the Tomb Raider games, I finished the first one, didn't finish the others.
I don't know, a lot of games.
The first one is pretty much my whole team library.
The first first one or like the first new ones?
The first of the new ones.
The 2013 one.
I haven't finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider yet.
Yeah.
I want to play the other.
to you but I just haven't gotten to it.
I tried to stream it, but because of the RTF settings,
you can't stream with the NVIDIA encoder
and also have the RtX settings or it breaks everything.
Gotcha.
So I was like, I'm not going to do this.
Evan, what game would you finish?
Super Mario Brothers 3.
I've been trying to beat it since I was 10 years old.
Oh, no.
I can get to the last level pretty quick
because I know all the secrets and stuff,
but I know where all the whistles are.
So I can't beat it.
Get the war whistle.
It's really hard, man.
The last level.
it's impossible to me man
I can get to the last level
like in 10 minutes but then
once I get there I just die right away
Alan says just get a game genie
Nah
It's cheating man
It's cheating
Skyroom VR oh yeah
So Andy
Andy let me try out
He gave me a trial
of his Oculus
headset so I can try it on my computer
I put it on
Not last night but the night before
I'm like you know I was going to install
it and that's if you know anything about building or anything about like getting new toys never
open it like at night before you're going to go to bed because it's never like oh yeah I'm just
gonna plug it in and make sure it works and then put it away you're always gonna want to try it out
so I was up to like one in the morning playing super hot VR which is super super fun and I banged my
hand on my desk like 50 times but I still want to keep going it's super fun super hot is super
fun no pain no gain yeah um I think it's the only real game I really wish I I I
finished off top oh god what's like this is a really classic game uh indigo prophecy
i have no idea what that is it's an old i think maybe xbox one era game it's from the people
i think who did like heavy no no it is it's it's definitely not obscure it's just like you know
it's just it's just an older game it's like uh i think from the same team or same DNA from the people
who made like heavy rain and like uh what's the other game with the robots with the cyborg people it just
came out like a few years ago.
I don't know.
Titanfall?
Yes.
No, but Indigo prophecy.
Detroit become human?
Yeah, Detroit become human.
I don't know if it's the same people, but it's like, it's like that same kind
of solid game.
Very heavy story focus.
Some gameplay elements, but it was like, you know, really make you think about life, man.
But it's a, it's like a classic, you know, like art, you know, like once arty games,
you know.
It's like, oh, video games is art.
There we go.
Ruckster and Chat says.
Indigo Prophecy is from
Quantum Dreams. It's also called Fahrenheit
Yeah
Fahrenheit in certain regions.
Still no idea.
But thank you.
Look it up. Just don't play it. Just look up
a just look up a
video or something. We'll do.
Lesser Honk wants to know
off-brand Pepsi or off-brown
Coca-Cola. Neither. Just
buy the brand one.
I like R.C. Cola slaps.
Ew.
R.C. Cola's underrated.
It is. Thank you. I have a
see, I haven't knows.
The foo knows.
But if you're going to get a soda and it's not root beer, I mean, what are you doing with your life?
True.
Root beer above everything else.
Not just regular root beer, bottled root beer.
Yesterday, we went out to lunch and Amanda and I both got bottled root beer and Dennis got a can of Diet Coke like a fool.
I like that egg Coke.
I don't drink a soda while drink a Diet Coke.
Because it's tasty.
I actually prefer it more than regular Coke because it doesn't taste a sugary.
It tastes like.
Doesn't taste a sugary.
Yes, it does.
It tastes like it's fake.
Then drink water.
If you don't want sugar.
I want sugar, but not super sugar.
Aspartane is dope.
I think it's aspartame, isn't it?
I don't know, but it makes it feel alive.
It courses through my veins.
It powers me up.
Okay, let's go.
So it gets me through the day on the server.
But I do like RC Cola better than Coca-Cola or Pepsi.
Really?
Maybe I have to give it another shot.
You know what's an underrated soda too?
Cactus cooler.
Cactus cooler slaps.
What?
It's really good.
It's smack.
You're almost.
Bringing into the office.
So actually it's a thing,
Cactus cooler isn't sold everywhere.
It's like mostly like in the southwest.
There's RC C Cola.
Yeah.
RC.
Cola is I sold in your hometown of where?
I refuse to say.
Do they say pop or soda where you live where we come from?
Really.
Arceicola is the first and bug red is the best.
Bug Red.
The heck is bug red.
Apparently R.C.
Cola sold in New Jersey corner chat.
Bug red.
Cockcdice cooler is really good.
Oh, big red.
Pineapple soda.
This guy.
Ooh.
That sounds good.
Yeah, yeah.
Pineapple.
Yeah.
It's really, really good.
We talked about soda for.
Oh, also Amanda informed me a while back about the, the, there's a, there's a draft
root beer.
You can get root beer like on, on like tap, right?
Yeah.
I wasn't where that was a thing.
And I was like, that must be the most.
Wait, I told you that.
Yeah.
I think you told me about that.
I've never, I didn't know you could get it in anything other than like a bottle or a
can.
Like, they'll put soda on tap like that.
I don't remember ever having that conversation with you.
Hey, this was like a long time ago.
Okay.
There you go.
Yeah, orange pineapple soda.
Orange pineapple blast.
Yeah, it slabs for real.
It's super good.
It's super good.
I'm sure it's like terrible for you, but it's great.
St. Arnold and Houston brews their own root beer for people driving.
Yeah, there we go.
Oh, would you go like a Sonic or something?
Today?
Yeah.
Let's see something good.
Yeah, where are you guys taking me to lunch?
Nowhere.
We took you yesterday.
I'm a special guest.
Carrots of broccoli from why is the cat screaming?
Broccoli.
depends
are they
steamed or
steamed or are they cold
I don't like steamed
vegetables
depends broccoli either way for me
I like him grilled
I like crunchy carrot
carrots I hate
steamed carrots
broccoli I actually prefer steamed
really but with rice
raw broccoli is really good
when you dip it though
in like ranch dressing or something
well
then what's the point of being broccoli
never tip it in a ranch
well
I didn't say it was healthy
I just said it was good.
Lesser Honk wants to know
which do you prefer honk or honk?
I would have to say honk.
I'm going to go honk.
Yeah.
What about you, Ivan?
I'm going to say honk.
Okay.
Rockster wants to know
is N-ZC attending TwitchCon
Amsterdam?
Confidential information.
Yeah.
Sorry.
Can't share that.
I don't know.
I honestly don't know the answer to that question.
Move it along.
Minecraft or Fortnite?
Um,
I don't know.
Minecraft for sure.
Minecraft, but I don't play Minecraft.
No, like I used to, but I don't play any games that involve crafty and anything.
Okay.
Do you prefer Halo or Call of Duty?
Halo.
I've never liked the gameplay of Halo.
I know that about you.
It's also why I don't like Destiny PVP because it's the same DNA.
Really?
I actually think Destiny PVP is pretty good.
Until until there's shield drops and then you punch them in the face.
It's like...
That's literally Apex.
You don't punch an Apex.
You just...
You just got punched to death.
yesterday last night.
Let me finish.
You don't punch an apex unless you want to flex on someone.
You want to assert your dominance.
That's pretty much what it is in Halo.
If you're punching someone,
you're flexing on them.
No.
Like you,
no,
it's like a legitimate strategy punching.
It's like,
it's like part of like the overall regular tool belt.
And in apex,
if you're punching someone,
it's either for two reasons.
One,
you don't have any guns,
right?
Or two,
you just want to use an flex on someone.
Big comment.
Someone back in a good shot.
The correct answer is Halo.
Yay.
Halo, I've had, I like, actually, if I had to pick a game right now to play between the both, I'd probably pick Call of Dutty, but I've had way more fun times playing Halo with my buddies.
Yeah, Halo's good.
I like old Call of Duties, like Callow Duties, like Call Duties one and two.
All college, those are different.
Actually, all the Colorado are pretty fun, to be honest.
I like all the ones that aren't futuristic.
Even those, they're not the best ones, but they're still, they're still fun.
But the fun times, I would say, man, Halo, I've had some fun times playing Halo.
with my friends.
I was really disappointed with like Black Ops,
though with the last one that came out three because it was pretty much a hero shooter.
Like no one told me that it was basically as a hero shooter.
Like you pick characters or soldiers with like abilities and I'm like,
am I playing Dota or something?
Like bro, let me shoot dudes in the face.
Like why am I, you know, throwing a tremor on the ground and I'm like, you know,
have like knives coming out of my arms.
It's really, really weird.
I just, as a whole, I would, I really want developers to stop making hero.
shooters. We have so many
and this is like something
that's commentary on Valeran.
Rip, how you pronounce it? I was I how you pronounce it? I was going to say
Rip Valorant. Well yeah because I
or Valorant I don't know. But
but but I think that
sometimes you just want to shoot and not have to worry about
special skills and everything. You just want to be able to have an
FPS that doesn't have you know all these different
characters like I will never pick up Rainbow Six Sege and like
because there's too many operators. It's a hero shooter and it's a hero shooter and it's a
hero shooter and I and I just don't want to learn all the different techniques of every character
while I'm trying to learn the map I'm trying to learn the shooting mechanics it's just it's too much
that's why like CSGO just simple yeah that's why I like CSGO as well because and that and I and I feel like
valerreure why I kind of like Call of Duty more because it's less of a hero shooter yeah yeah especially
like the newer one just just just just shoot yeah just shoot forehead I didn't like destiny
No. I like Destiny for the PVE aspect because I used to play like wow. So I like I like RPGs and I like that aspect and I'm fighting like monsters and stuff. But if I'm finding other people, I don't want to worry about like, oh, I got hit by what's it called the handheld supernova. It's so annoying, dude.
When Dennis first started working here, he was all about destiny. So I still am. You still are. But I think maybe I don't like it because I've only played it on Google Stadia.
Why?
Because I got a Google Stadia for some reasons.
Yeah, why?
I remember making fun of you and Andy, like the moment you guys both told me, yeah, I got a period.
I'm like, why?
It's going to be a joke.
I know.
I always get like new gaming tech when it first comes out just to try it.
Like, for example, when VR first came out, I got an oculus and then I played it for like an hour and I was like, okay, this sucks.
Fun facts.
Yeah. Fun fact. I have not to this day tried a single VR game. I've never done anything in VR.
Because you're coming over. It gets it coming over to play VR. Actually, I was going to ask you about that. I think that would be fun.
Yeah, just don't bang your hand on my table. Maybe.
So when the stadia thing came out, I got one because I love Google stuff. I have, you know, Google phones and stuff. So they gave me like a pretty cool deal and just figured, why not? And it actually works great.
I just don't like playing FPS games with my controller with my thumbs.
It's not fun.
Agreed.
It's a really bad way to play it.
Unless you have to for physical reasons.
But if you have the choice, keyboard and mouse all the time.
That's my disclaimer.
My opinions are my own.
Magnemostin wants to know Doom or Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing.
Yes.
100%.
That's my answer is yes.
100%.
Not even a question.
I don't play both. I don't play both.
I love Doom.
Like, I think Doom is super cool, but Animal Crossing, there's just something about it that's...
There's something about Doom.
And relax, but it's a different type of...
Okay.
You play Doom campaign once over, right?
And that's it. That's all you really get.
I played it five times.
Okay.
Well, I'm talking about normal people that aren't obsessed.
Okay.
So you play it once over.
You play it once over.
But you play Animal Crossing.
Okay.
The amount of replayability and, like,
just logging on every single day.
Like, sorry, logging on.
Just turning on the game every single day and just having new things to do and
build and craft.
And I just think it has much more.
It's, to me,
Animal Crossing is a long-term game,
whereas like a lot of AAA titles and stuff like that is like,
I'm going to sit down.
I'm going to play this once.
And that's it.
You know,
like it's just a single-player game.
Then you're done.
But the new Animal Crossing, too,
is going to have a multiplayer feature,
which I'm so excited about.
Well, not like this.
This is different.
But correct.
answer is Animal Crossing because similar to my experience with Halo I had way more fun playing Animal
Crossing with my friends than Doom. Yeah. I want Animal Crossing. I mean, I want Doom because
one, we are in a huge like drought for good single player experiences where you just feel good
and you have fun and you have to worry about other people. It might not be good. Right that redemption,
man. It might not be good. That's going to be good. Have you considered that at all?
It's going to be amazing.
Every doom is good.
Every doom is great.
I mean, until there's one that isn't, right?
Doom 3 is good.
Have you considered Animal Crossing is not good?
Oh, maybe Animal Crossing is booty cheeks.
To people who are wrong.
Maybe Animal Crossing is a straight booty.
Imagine.
Says the person who loves Animal Crossing.
I love it.
Yeah, but I mean, again, right.
I don't think Doom is bad.
I never said that.
I'm just saying Animal Crossing is better.
Doom puts you, when you're playing it and you get into that group,
Doom puts you in a Zen state where you're literally like,
super mega brain
I don't like jump scares
there's no jump scares
is
yeah
she literally
really
yeah
you'll be just like
you know
like you're just walking
and then
stuff will just pop out at you
and just
they don't though
in the
in the
Doom
I've played it
Doom 2016
like
like the last thing
they came out
really
there's times
where you think
you are safe
in that game
and then you just
get attacked
or something
I can't think that that's like a thing because like all the fights are almost in like arenas in that game.
So like you go in and like you know when steps about to go down.
I'm one of those people that I never get scared during video games or movies because I know they're not real.
Well yeah, of course they're not real.
I never considered the fact that they would be real.
Like when I're playing a scary video game like I know I'm playing a scary video game like something jumps out at me.
Like it doesn't scare me.
I just think it's cool.
So I do the movies.
I watch a scary movie.
I know there's going to be like scary things, like jumping out.
So I kind of expect it.
I expect it, but it still scares me every time.
Oh, my God.
All right, next question.
We're almost ready at a time here.
I'm going to pick and choose a couple of them here.
Do you think you could overtake Viv in an admin popularity contest without the use of a cute doggo?
What?
Why would I even want to do that?
Fight, fight, fight.
I don't want a popularity contest.
Vivian is awesome.
Let's have a poll right now.
Questions, X-T.
Who's more popular?
Mommy or mom?
All right, chat.
All right, chat.
It's time.
It's time, chat.
What game?
Doom or Animal Crossing?
Type it in chat.
Let's go.
Well, we do that.
We're going to answer.
I really just going to say,
answer the question.
What is your current favorite song?
Don't have one.
I heard the new Drake on the way to work today.
Power 106.
It's all right.
I don't know.
Is that big boy?
I don't know.
I don't know.
It's actually I think Nick Cannon.
Am I allowed to play it?
I don't know.
I just,
I changed it.
But it was like whatever.
I don't know if you know what it's called.
My current one.
My current song is this one.
This is my current favorite song.
It's going to.
I'm sure everyone's heard about this one before.
But I can put the drink if you want.
It's just if you allow me to.
You're not allowed.
That bass, dude.
Rumbles.
Someone's car right now.
as you're listening to this is a shaken what song is this it's like a meme song so made up
chat's going down right there comes right hey yeah it's not really like good of a song this is like
that was probably the worst song ever in my entire life actually wow really yes is it when to say in
Chicago freestyle is that the Drake song I can't think of it you know no it's it's it's it's
song where he's talking about his taxes.
Oh, that one's not that new.
I just heard it too.
Yeah, that's a, that's Drake in future.
Life is good.
Something here.
Yeah, this one.
Too turned up.
I just turned up today the first time.
Yeah, it's not bad.
It's all right.
We'll read it out, the thingy.
I told you how to play it.
Actually, I do have a song I just heard from a musician.
I just discovered.
I had no idea who he was.
and I liked it.
I gotta stop holding the stupid chicken.
Do you guys know who Harry Styles is?
Yes.
You know who Harry Styles is?
I seriously had no idea who this human was,
but his music is actually pretty good.
It is.
Which song is it?
He's very underrated.
I have no idea what the name of his songs are, but...
Do this one?
No.
It's not this one for sure.
Okay.
Sorry.
This one.
Extremely underrated, I would say.
No, not this one.
one okay have you seen his carpool karaoke no you should watch that it's really good I just
heard him on the radio I was like wow his voice this guy it's his voice is really good
gives me one direction right yeah and that's why he's so underrated because people write him off
because he was in like essentially a boy band you also in a reality show what's he X Factor
he actually got eliminated in the first round of X Factor and loser before
one direction which I also
just find out about one direction.
You know who I think is actually really,
well,
how does it say underrated,
but I don't hear people talk about enough?
Sia.
I think Sia is amazing.
She has a great voice.
She's good.
Yeah, she's super good.
Yeah, she's really good.
I don't like some of her more poppy songs,
but like they still slap.
Yeah,
her more poppy songs.
Yeah,
so Amanda doesn't have songs.
She doesn't music.
I do.
I just don't have a favorite song right now.
Amanda listens to music.
I can confirm because I can hear her playing
through her headphones.
Or boomer bangers.
Okay.
If you could give Shind one piece of design advice, what would it be?
Keep doing what you're doing.
Don't listen to the haters.
You're perfect in every way, shape, and form.
People who complain don't know what they're talking about.
They're not real builders.
Quote me all that.
Blasting on Twitter, I don't care.
Give me the clout.
What is your least favorite game that you've played in the Y?
least favorite
probably Fortnite
played it once and I was like
what's the heck why is this game so popular
it's too
the whole building aspect of it
it's just annoying to me I don't play games that I don't think
I'm going to like so it's going to hard question
I can't think of anything because usually if I
buy something I'm going to play it even if I
don't super like care for it that much
you know I don't have anything that I hate
I don't have anything that I super you know like even a game like league when you play it right with the right people it's a really good game right like it's fun it's just it's the people that ruin it pretty much it's not the game itself like a game itself is fine yeah I don't I don't think of a game like I hate like this game sucks I'll never play it again or X must die too just kidding yeah I don't know I've been are you playing in the house love it dude love to death
Are you playing anything right now, even?
I'm playing like...
I'm kind of playing Red Dead Red Dev Redemption too, but not really.
I haven't played it like in two, three weeks.
But I did start playing it.
It's really fun.
I like it.
I just haven't had time to play more.
I've been going to bed earlier and earlier, as you guys know.
I noticed you were messaging me like at 8.30 yesterday, and you're like, I'm falling asleep.
No, flying asleep.
So when I really got on my diet program,
I wanted to work out, you know, and the only time I can work out is early in the morning.
So I wake up at 5 in the morning.
The only way for me to wake up at 5 in the morning is to go to sleep at 9.
Yeah.
Excuse me, it's not a diet.
It's a lifestyle change.
Like, exactly.
So if I were to play video games, I'd be up until, you know, midnight, 2 in the morning.
I wouldn't be able to wake up at 5 to work out.
I kind of had to not play as much.
So I played a little bit here and there.
Yeah.
I always carry my Game Boy with me.
They still some.
Really?
Yeah. There's still some good questions on here, by the way.
You want to grab some real quick?
Just all the ones that are still pinned.
I mean, yeah, but some of these have heard a lot in the past.
That's why I'm trying to...
We have poppy stickers and mommy stickers.
Can we get mommy stickers?
Anything is possible.
Mom stickers, I would say. Probably no eye on that.
This is interesting.
Do you feel Razor created SneckySneck to compete with NZXT's poochie?
I don't even know they had anything.
That snakey snake came up before Pucci did it? It's like an old thing
I don't even know what you guys were talking about
Razor had like if I remember correctly
they made like a little snake toy like five years ago
I don't know I didn't know anything about them I don't yeah I don't
I don't know I'm trying to see if I can find it it's not even like a photo of it
on the internet doesn't exist because nobody cares
They made like a little, like a snake toy.
But a long time ago.
Yeah, I don't see it here.
I don't know if they did another one.
Maybe they just never made it, actually.
I don't know.
Like, because I'm looking for a photo, like razor plush or something, a snack and like nothing's coming up.
They have like a pillow with their logo on it, which looks hideous.
I don't know why you want a triangle pillow.
The heck?
Yeah, no.
Okay.
Anyway, I think Andy has a cool razor fidget spinner.
Have you seen it?
No, does he?
Yeah, it's really cool.
It's like super heavy duty.
Has anyone at NCXE left during the first day because they couldn't build their own PC?
That's an interesting question.
No, but there's definitely been people who have been frustrated.
I would have been frustrated too, to be honest, if I was put through that because I don't know how to do everything.
I can do some things, but on everything.
Well, we help people.
Yeah.
And things always change, too.
It's like you've never put together.
together like an AIO before like you it's it's different than putting on like a
regular cooler you know I mean yeah the instructions are there but like when you're
so set on something right and like you're you're trained to do something a certain
way then they add like hey here's a brand new thing get us swap these brackets
around and you gotta plug in these USB cables like what RGB in general is like
really really it's a big hassle IMO my opinion TBH NGL I think we have one of the
easier, uh,
RGB setups to put together.
And it's still like not easier for me.
Because you're a fool.
I'm that dumb.
Pretty much.
Um, yeah,
they haven't made a plus yet.
Min is considering it.
Well,
there we go.
So they didn't make,
you can't compete what,
which,
what,
with what doesn't exist.
I can't talk today.
Ooh,
you know where should go today?
Jollybee.
No.
What?
Jollybee is so good.
I don't want fried chicken.
I don't want something greasy today.
Let's get a burger then.
I should watch Super Size Me 2
I've watched the first one
I watched Super Size Me 2 over the weekend with my mom
and we both like
Looked at each other we're like we're just not going to eat chicken anymore
Chicken chicken filet
After I watched that movie I'm like
I mean the way we tree animals in general for food is just
Absolutely terrible but like
I'm gonna back out of this conversation
Can't think about it because it's delicious
All right so I think we're gonna call it there
Because we actually have to do work
Work what's that
