Hello everyone and welcome to episode 35, the NZXT Clubcast, the official podcast of the NZXC community.
This podcast is recorded live from our houses every Thursday at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on the official NXC Discord server and is available to stream wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.
My name is Dennis and with me is Ivan.
Hello, are you recording this episode, Dennis?
I am, but now you're too close to your mic.
You're going to stop changing your position.
I'm not changing anything.
Move it away from your map.
And also we have Amanda.
Hi, Amanda.
Hi.
How are you?
Pretty good.
I can't hear.
I can't hear Amanda at all.
I can't hear Amanda either.
Oh, my God.
She's missing.
I had it muted.
I'm sorry.
For like, goodness, we're talking for like 30 seconds when the podcast started and I
messaged them.
I can't hear you.
And then all of a sudden I hear him.
Then we get to Amanda.
Then you can hear her.
Last week, last week, we didn't even record the podcast.
That's not what happened.
So we recorded the podcast, but what happened was that the program we were using
Mi6 to record it, recorded an hour and 45 minutes of dead air, which I don't know how
that makes any sense because it was totally been able to hear us, but it is what it is,
which is, you know, if you guys haven't listened to the bonus short podcast we did on the feed,
you definitely should check it out.
So definitely, you know, if you haven't listened to it on Apple, podcast, Google,
podcast, Spotify or SoundCloud, you should totally do that. Also, for those who are listening
live, the best way to get rid of the notification sounds is to use streamer mode on PC.
If you are on your phone, I don't know how to help you. I never used Discord mobile for audio.
That's not something that is in my wheelhouse. How are you doing this week?
Good. Yeah, I think every week gets a little bit better.
it does and it doesn't you know new challenges arise i think from uh being at home you know um
doing my best to just chilling you know just not really worry too much and just you know keep
keep going you know i'm pretty lucky so it's hard not to worry when you turn on the news and you
see what's going on out there it's kind of scary yeah it can be right and i think and i think it's
important to like you know recognize and understand that you know it is it is like a weird time um i know
i know Amanda keeps laughing at me when i say this but we're literally like this is literally history
you know like this is history in the making when did i ever laugh at you for saying that i don't even
remember you saying that to me pretty sure i said it like you you keep saying that bra bra bra bra
no you're you're literally thinking of someone else i've never said that i probably probably your other
oh it was b okay it was b no it is uh it's gonna it's gonna
and go down in history as probably the
craziest thing to ever happen in our lifetime for sure.
Well, I mean,
because even pretty, I don't know about that stuff happened.
In terms of just like economic impact,
like when you look at the great recession,
or even the,
the recession that happened in 2008,
like you can see it coming, you know,
and a lot of people will lost their jobs,
but like no,
we're near the amount of people like this time around and the crazy thing is this time around like
it no one really saw this thing come it's come it's almost like a ghost right it's just like this
virus it's in the air it's you can't even leave your house right it's really weird like like some some people
saw it coming others didn't listen but i will say though they're seeing like the positive news has been
really great right like there's a lot of really cool stuff coming out of this like you know like
I think I work today that Elon's changing one of his factories to build ventilators and stuff like that.
There's a lot of really cool, a lot of cool things coming out of it in a sense of like, you know,
just seeing how people are supporting each other and being good to each other.
So for me, that's like, you know, it's pretty nice, right?
And this is also the first time in history that we can, the weekend like experience such an event
and we're all making memes about it, just like how man gaming plays on the chat.
Like, what were you doing?
I was sharing memes, son while this was going down.
scrolling through Twitter.
And it will say,
I want to say the memes can be like,
all these are distasteful,
but sometimes it's kind of nice
just to have some dumb humor,
you know,
when things are going down.
To be fair,
all your humor is always dumb.
Very true.
But I think the bigger thing, too,
is this is really going to change the way
we as humans kind of interact with the world.
Oh, yeah.
Watching the news this morning,
and here in Los Angeles,
crime is down 10%.
you know and no a large part of it is because yeah you can't leave your house to commit crime but
I also you know I go on walks every every afternoon and um my neighborhood is relatively quiet like
I used to never see people walking but now I'm seeing people walking with kids and stuff and we
keep our distance but it's yeah it's like we're waving at each other where we're talking to
each other across the street hey how are you doing do you need anything um you know like
I think it's really bringing a lot of people closer together in a way, even though, you know, we're kind of trapped in our neighborhood.
It's, it's like, how do you say?
It's like, you don't know what you got until it's gone, right?
So like, I'm not able to go out and meet my sister for lunch.
So like now I'm calling her a lot more often.
Hey, how are you doing?
You want to hop on some animal crossing and play, you know, and then we just chill and, you know, I steal.
And, you know, I steal her, her apples and I dig holes everywhere.
So, yeah, it's definitely different.
Not even that.
It's also like, like companies are changing the way that they're doing things, right?
Like before I ordered Uber Eats the other day.
I ordered McDonald's was like, I'm not going to lie.
I'm kind of tired of eating like stuff at home.
Like I wanted to eat something kind of bad for me for a second.
And they have an option where people can just drop off the food at your house as opposed to you having to go pick it up.
Because previously you had to go grab it from the Uber Eats person.
Now there's an option, hey, just leave it up my door.
I don't want to touch you.
I don't want to be near you.
Which is actually kind of interesting, you know, how there are a lot of businesses are also shifting.
things around to kind of make things safer, more comfortable for people.
So it's interesting. It's interesting.
I'd be interested to see when, you know, this kind of, not like goes away,
but when it passes, maybe there's a vaccine or whatever,
how it changes our daily life afterwards.
Like, are we all going to want to, like, you know, go to festivals and things like that?
Or are people going to be more cautious?
Are people going to stay at home more because they're kind of used to it?
at that point. Are you going to see a lot more people being careful, disinfecting everything,
wearing masks more so on a regular basis? Like, you know, we don't know right now how the effects
are going to be if it's going to change like how we do things as a whole, right? Like,
if it changes our behavior like permanently, like we actually never go back to the way it was before.
Like I don't know, I don't know that people are just going to, you know, decide I'm going to be
reckless after this or I'm going to be careless.
I think people are still going to remain
cautious and being more
careful about who they interact with and going
into large crowds and stuff like that.
Turkey's asking, are people
going to actually wash their hands properly after
this? I hope
this is one thing. People always wash their hands.
It's nothing worse than when you're in the restroom and somebody's
walks out without washing. You're like, what's
matter with you?
Every thing I started washing my hands for 20 seconds,
I never realized
I wasn't washing my hands properly.
Not for real.
20 seconds is a long time.
It feels like a long time.
It's like really?
Like this 20 seconds?
Good Lord.
It's forever.
I'm going to do all this.
There's specific things you have to do too.
Like you have to like put your nails to your palms.
You have to focus solely like on your thumbs, you know, back and like on your palms and stuff like that.
Like to get everything because people will put on gloves and then they have like the ink on their gloves.
And they show that like if you just, you know,
wash your hands from your palms touching and then go even just in between your fingers it's not
enough you're missing the whole backside you're missing like by your thumbs you're not getting your
nails like all your fingers i think all of us were we're doing it wrong and then we saw those videos and
we were like you know like not good it's fun don't forget to mute that oh sorry that's cool we're
going to edit it out so it doesn't matter so so here's the thing one of the cool things about the
software is that i could actually make timeline footnotes and like edit things out right then
right there. So yeah, Amanda, language. It's okay, guys. We'll survive.
So, cool. Okay, great. I mean, you know, that's pretty much, you know, I think we're doing
fine. Hopefully everyone out there is doing fine. You guys are being safe and cautious and everything
is okay. Hopefully I've been affected too much. I've actually heard of a couple of people that I
kind of know personally who have tested positive for it, but they seem to be okay. It's like, you know,
I'm not super sick, but I'm being more safe now.
So, you know, some of the things where you can get better, you know, you will get better.
Just be safe.
Yeah.
Most people do get better.
Yeah.
But it's still very dangerous, you know, a lot of people.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Another question for you guys.
How's the coffee lately?
This morning, it was actually pretty bad because I had to get water last night because we ran out of water.
Oh.
Do you buy the jugs or do you go to the water refill places?
I buy the jugs from like the water refill places.
Okay.
I just fill it up at the grocery store here, those machines outside.
Yeah, yeah.
But I left them in the car and I forgot to bring them in.
So this morning, you know, the way I make my coffee is I use a mocha pot.
So I make like, it's like four shots of espresso in there.
Jeez, dude.
It's the closest thing to making espresso without an espresso machine.
Here, I'll drop a link in the chat.
You guys can see what it is.
Oh, yeah, I see it.
Yeah, what I do is I make my coffee, and then I add hot water to make an Americano.
So this morning I go, I make my coffee, then I go to pour my hot water to make my Americano.
And then it's like, my machine just starts going, I'm like, what?
I open it up.
And I'm like, oh, man, there's no water in here.
So, right.
It's not that I don't like the taste of just, you know, regular espresso, but I prefer the
Americano.
But thankfully, I already had three cups of coffee this morning, so I'm good.
I managed to figure it out.
Me and my dad, my dad, he likes coffee a lot.
He's from Nicaragua, so he, like, grew up drinking coffee as, like, a kid.
And, like, he, like, before bed, he'll have, like, a cup of coffee and he, like, knocks out, you know?
That's kind of where he's out.
Like, for him, coffee is just like a way of life.
It's not really like, you know, oh, it's drinking in the morning, you know, because I need it.
He's like, if I don't have it, my life isn't complete all the time, right?
I think he drinks at least, at least four to five cups a day.
That's like a minimum on like a bad day or something.
What kind of coffee?
So here's the thing.
He doesn't buy particularly good brands, but he likes what he likes.
You know what I mean?
but like we we were in a rough spot where we couldn't find coffee anywhere because people were being
dumb right and buying things that they didn't need to buy so we ended up buying this like big old
tub of like Dunkin' Donuts coffee oh that's the worst so we should think right he's like I don't
like this you know I think it's bad but you know it is what it is and I'm in it I take first
I'm like hey this is pretty good so I'm all over it I'm happy with it he's he's not a fan
I kind of make my wife go crazy because I only drink one brand of coffee.
It's kind of expensive.
I drink Lavasa coffee.
And it's like $10 for like a can.
But it does go on sale for $5.99 sometimes at the grocery store.
So if I buy it when it's not on sale, my wife kind of gets upset at me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we, I was going to say, we didn't.
tweet out the podcast this morning and we're not going to tag everyone in the server because
we really just want to make it about the people who are interested in asking those questions
and hearing those answers. Yes. We do have a lead moderator position. I know literally everyone
was confused about it. They weren't sure why we added the position and I'm going to clear that
up a little bit. So essentially the only reason why we have a lead moderator is because we do need
someone besides the admins to lead the moderator team.
So you can imagine when, you know, decisions are made or questions need to be answered or,
you know, mod chat needs to be looked at. It's really hard in our day to day as admins to be able
to read and respond to everything, right? We have other things outside the Discord, a lot of things
outside the Discord that we're currently working on. And so we picked someone from the
mod team who has shown a lot of initiative, has worked on projects for us and had the potential
to, you know, take that step forward, had the activity to do that. And so like you guys aren't
really going to see much of a difference in the discord, right? Like, it's not as if we're
disappearing, we're not going to have final say or that the other mods aren't going to be moderating.
The real reason for the lead moderator is to kind of help us behind the scenes.
do things like we need to do in terms of projects and events and stuff like that.
So we have B as our new lead mod, and those are the type of things that she's going to be working on.
It's really like we have a lot of stuff coming up in the server, and she's going to be taking point person on those things.
And then also when the mods need help on something and they're not able to go to us, they would go to B, and then B would come to us after that.
So we still have complete oversight.
We still make the final say, the final decisions.
There's a decision made that we don't like.
We have every right to reverse it at any point.
So I don't want anyone looking at this, like,
B has all this crazy extra authority in the server elsewhere.
It's really not like that.
That's not what the position is.
And we've been working on a lot of behind the scene stuff the last couple of months.
And if you guys think there's already a lot of channels in the server,
Like, we have like all these hidden channels that just basically push everything else down.
Like there's just a million channels now.
Because, you know, like Amanda said, we have a lot of big projects that would be announced soon.
Amanda's going to talk about a couple of them later on in the podcast.
But yeah, basically, and besides needing the help, B has always been very helpful in terms of just giving feedback on the server.
even before she was a moderator, like she always would message me whenever she thought,
you know, there was an issue or we could do things better and things like that.
And then when she became a moderator, you know, she kicked it up by notch and she kept doing
the same thing, you know, giving us advice and tips and her feedback.
So it was kind of like a easy decision to kind of say like, okay, she obviously is taking a lot
of initiative to help us.
why don't we just make it official and make her the lead moderator so she can help us
organize better and do more stuff.
Yeah.
And also just to say, it's not that the mods that we do have are not taking initiative.
It's not that they're not putting an effort or doing a good job.
They are taking initiative.
They are doing a great job.
And we are very happy with them.
It's as simple as the projects.
Like, that's the clear defining difference is the projects that we're doing.
We need someone with a little bit of experience there, and Beat does have prior experience with that,
and in other servers as well with managing communities.
So that was a little bit of the difference there, but it does not mean that the other mods are not doing well.
Yeah, they're great.
We love them.
Yeah, they're awesome.
We love our mods.
And also, it's not to say that there can only ever be one lead mod as well.
When the team does expand to any point or if we need a long list of mods, maybe we'll have two lead mods.
Maybe we'll have three lead mods.
It's not a one person only type thing.
So the other mods have more than enough opportunity to eventually get there if that's a path they choose.
So yeah.
Yeah, I mean, it's really pretty much it, right?
It's just helping us work on the things that we feel like don't need to be involved in all the time, right?
Like it's just nice to have someone to be to,
it's nice to have someone who can keep an eye out for us
and say, hey, this is what's going on.
And then, you know, we, we look at that
and then we, you know, do our own research
and make our own decisions.
And then it's kind of how it goes, right?
No one's going over us.
We still run the server as employees of NST, right?
We, this is kind of what we get paid to do, right?
And, you know, the only thing that we're concerned with
is the well-being and the safety of the server, right?
Is everybody having fun?
Is everybody, you know, having good time?
Is it a safe space for everyone?
If yes, then great.
If not, then we need to fix things, right?
Everyone has fun except me.
I don't know.
You seem to be having a lot of fun lately.
Yes, I am.
I always have fun.
I only have fun.
All right.
So next topic about the server.
Okay, so let me see.
We might actually have, so do we,
I was going to ask this to Amanda Live.
Should we wait to get to the questions?
Do we want to interspers?
first questions in with topics that are relevant.
What do you think is the best way to do this?
I think you might as well just continue with all of the relevant on-topic things
and then get to whatever we missed right before the town hall.
Awesome.
All right.
So are the rules getting more strict as something I've been seeing a lot?
Are we being more strict with the rules?
We are.
And I think one thing that we should just go ahead and clarify right now,
we are a company.
This is a company Discord server.
We do have to have very strict rules to protect you guys and ourselves on the Discord.
I know at times this can feel like a casual gaming community or something else, but we are a company,
and this is a company Discord.
So we do have to have stricter rules, even from when the Discord first was made.
And I think Ivan can even speak on this.
There was a lot less rules.
It was a lot less strict.
but that doesn't mean that that was for the better, right?
So a lot of the things that we're putting into place right now
are to essentially, like I said, protect ourselves and protect you guys,
and it's not to make you feel like any little thing you say or do is against the rules.
It's just to make sure that, you know, when you're in the server,
it's a fun and safe environment, and that's what we're focused on doing.
It's not going to make everyone happy.
People are going to complain.
People aren't going to like the rules.
We're well aware of that.
But at the end of the day, we still have to make that decision.
We still have to do it regardless.
And we don't have a choice.
And I would say the rules are definitely not more strict.
It's just that we are doing a much better job at enforcing those rules.
And a huge part of that reason is because even when the server was huge and it was just me kind of in charge of stuff,
I didn't have a dentist or Amanda to help me enforce a lot of rules, you know, because like Amanda said, you know, we have other stuff going on outside of the server.
So now that we actually have a team that can help us with the server, we have like a lead moderator that can help us with the mods and things like that, it's, we're going to be enforcing the rules a lot more because we have to, you know.
Right.
We have to protect everyone in the server and everyone has to do their part, including us, you know.
Right.
I think it's fair to say that we, not that we haven't done a good job, but we haven't
done as good of a job as we could.
And a lot of it's just because time, right?
Like there's only so much time we can spend in the day as one person taking care of the
server, making sure the mods have what they need, right?
Keeping an eye on stuff, keeping things running.
So now that we have more people, we can take the time to finally kind of start putting
in processes like, okay, this is how we're going to lead the server going forward.
Yes, it was different, but to make it a better place for everyone at the end of the day,
we have to make these changes and we have to finally start hammering down on how we're doing
everything.
And I just dropped the server info in the Discord chat.
It was created on October 18, 2016.
And when the server was first created, there were no rules.
The only real rules were Be Nice, have.
fun and help each other. And that's still kind of like the mentality of the server and the rules
are designed to kind of maintain that philosophy, but not everyone knows how to be nice, have fun,
and how to help each other. And another thing too, I think we can touch base on is like there's
going to be inconsistency, right? Everyone has their own individual brain here and when they're in
situations have to make judgment calls. They can read the guidelines a million times. They can know
the rules as well as you can, but people sometimes will choose to act differently in certain situations
based on what they think is the best call at the time. There's been a lot of times where the
mods have made calls that we think were inappropriate or we wanted to reverse or change afterwards,
and we have. And there's been, sometimes we've made decisions as admins that the mods haven't
been happy with. It happens. Everyone is different. We all handle situations differently. We don't,
we're not inconsistent on purpose. It's a reality of the situation, right? And we understand that we make
mistakes. We understand we make bad calls. We are human. But it's never to hurt anyone. It's never to put
anyone in a place where they feel like they're being attacked or, you know, we're being unfair
to them. It's literally just we, it's just not fair to hold everyone to a black and white, right?
There's always going to be gray area. There's always going to be situations that call for
different actions. And we might have to backtrack on and we might have to fix. But that is,
that's, that's the way it is for every single server out there, I can guarantee you. Any server that
has a large amount of users and a large team.
There's going to be mistakes made.
There's going to be situations where maybe we could have been a little bit more strict.
Maybe we could have been a little bit more lenient.
But at the end of the day, we try to do our best.
And that's something that we want you guys to understand is we're always just trying to do our best.
Sometimes our best doesn't come through, but we're always trying to do our best.
Yeah.
And it's just the reality, right?
There's not a way we can be perfect.
Right.
But you can definitely help us getting to you can help us to get to that perfect spot, which will never happen.
But you can help us get there by talking to us and letting us know what's going on and being honest and frank with us and being fair, right?
If people aren't speaking to us, then we don't know what's going on, right?
We can't catch everything.
So we also rely on the community to be vigilant and to let us know how they feel.
And I feel like it's one of the problems that we do have on the server is just people not talking.
and not talking to us, right?
We'll talk amongst each other, which is fine, right?
That's what the purpose of the server is.
But if you don't let the people who are running the server know what you feel is a concern,
then we can't address it.
We can't talk about it, right?
Because if no one says anything, then we think everything's going fine until things hit the fan.
And then all of a sudden, oh, I wasn't aware this many people were angry for this reason.
Yeah, communication is key.
Like, at the end of the day, like if you guys aren't communicating with us,
if you guys aren't messaging us, if you're not letting us know what's going on and you just leave
the server because you're upset with something or you go and talk to other users privately about stuff
and you let things fester, I'm not sure what you expect to happen, right? You're just going to continue
to be upset. You're going to continue to be mad. Instead of just talking with us and understanding
why it is that we did something, right? We can help you understand that. We can give you our logic.
Maybe you're still not going to agree with the logic, but maybe you'll still walk away with an
understanding of, okay, this is why they made this decision. Maybe I don't think it's the best
decision, but I can see it's very clear that there wasn't any bad motives or bad intent. It just,
it is what it is, right? They made that call. But if, if, you know, you decide to just leave the server
and don't give us that chance to speak with you, you know, what are we left to do, right?
Like, there's not much that we can do outside of the server. We can only handle what happens in the
server. So my advice to you guys would be, if you do have a problem,
If you are upset with something in the server, if you don't agree with the decision we made, talk to us.
I promise you, you'll have much more understanding of the thought process behind the decision
or whatever it is that you're upset with if you just speak with us about it.
And even if you want to complain about somebody, you know, like, for example, if you want to complain about me to Amanda, feel free and then she'll tell me, I've had times where Ivan's been like, hey, don't do this.
I'm like, oh, sorry about that, didn't realize that was a thing.
And then I don't do that thing anymore, right?
Yeah.
But actually had a lot of talks like that.
But that's the thing that right is that we're all given a chance to learn, right?
And as long as we listen and the feedback is constructive, we're more willing to listen, right?
And that's also another thing, too, is that, you know, be constructive, right?
Bring your concerns.
And if you can present to us a solution that what you think would be a best way to fix it.
And then, you know, we'll take that into account.
It may not be what you want, but, you know, we do want to hear what you think and what you think is best with the server.
because ultimately, I wouldn't have a job if the server didn't exist.
Right.
Yeah.
Pretty much.
Yeah.
And like if you guys sometimes feel attacked, when we message you and we give final decisions,
we talk to you, imagine how it feels when we're not approached in a mature way and people
are angry at us.
We also feel attacked.
We're humans.
And, you know, we're going to respond a lot better in situations.
If you're coming to us calmly and maturely as an adult, here's the problem that I have.
have, can you guys please help fix this or what can we do to make this better? And then we will
gladly answer you. And I can tell you that our approach to it will probably be a lot different
than if your name calling us and telling us we don't know what we're doing and, you know,
just like rage quitting the server and everything like that. You know, your behavior also plays a part
in how we're going to respond and how we're going to handle things. So that's another thing to think
about too. All right. Let's see here. Do you want to get to the next topic, Amanda?
Yeah. So I think this actually leads right into something that we have brought up to us a lot,
which is favoritism. Yay. I can tell you right now it doesn't exist. Actually, it does. I hate
everyone the same. Well, okay. That's different. Thanks, I've been very constructive. I appreciate it.
We don't play favorites.
It doesn't matter what you guys want to say about that.
At the end of the day, like I said, what you think is favoritism is just being human and being inconsistent and reacting to situations based on how we're being approached and a lot of different factors.
But I can tell you right now, the admins do not play favorites.
We think of you all equally.
And that's just the simple truth or the simple fact of the situation is we're not playing favorites.
It's we just are humans and not every situation is going to go exactly the same for every single person.
It's just it's just not going to.
But it's not a favoritism thing.
We're not going to give someone a harsher punishment because we personally don't like them.
I mean, I don't even emotionally invest that much time into, you know, how I feel about separate users.
I love you guys as a whole.
and I'm not going to sit here.
Like you guys know too, we don't spend as admins,
we don't spend a ton of time on the server
and that's because we are working on other things.
For us to then have these preconceived ideas of specific users
and have emotional responses to them to the point
where we would go out of our way to do something in spite of that person,
it's just way more, like, it's way more thought.
Like you guys are, you're flattering us,
but that's not what we're thinking, right?
I'm flattered that you think that we would go through that much trouble,
but it's just not how it is, right?
I also do want to throw into that.
If it feels like we're being more lenient on certain people,
the way that I usually go about it myself is if it's someone who's like a newbie or like a supporter,
they're new in the server, I cut them a little bit more slack because they're new.
They haven't been here.
They don't know how we run things.
And we are a very unique community, right?
I always say we're very wholesome.
And the rules are strict so that we can keep it wholesome, right?
And if you're a longer standing member, say you're a guardian or a champion or a defender,
we kind of expect a little bit more from those higher ranking members, right?
Because you've been here long enough and you're not banned.
So you should know the rules.
You should know what, you know, the things that aren't tolerated in this community.
And you should be the ones who are leading everybody to being better people, to being better
community members.
So if it feels like we're attacking certain groups in the server, it's really more,
we expect so much more of you because we respect you for being.
here so long, right? Like, if you give a red name, that's awesome. Thank you so much for being a
champion and chatting that. It doesn't, it's not, it's not an easy thing to get the champion. We all know
it, right? It takes a lot of time to get to that point. So if you've been here that long, we expect
you to know better and we expect you to be like the best community member that you possibly can.
Yeah, like I agree. If anything, it's just holding to different standards, right? I'm going to
hold someone from the champion group to a lot higher standards than I am someone who literally
just became a friend. And part of that is because you've been in the server for so long.
Like, you should know the rules. You should know how we handle things. And if we ever do something
unfairly because of that, again, communication is key. Let us know. But the champion should be
the first ones to let us know. Right. Right. They should be the first ones to go, hey, I've been here
for a long time. I don't agree with this. I want to fix it. Yeah. And then we would
be happy to listen to it. Like I actually have been getting DMs lately of specific things with that.
And I am more than happy to have those conversations. And you guys are free to reach out to us anytime.
But yeah, so it's not really a favoritism thing as much as, you know, the different topics we touch base on different standards here for how long you've been in the server and what you should definitely know by now.
And also just inconsistency sometimes, which we can't always avoid. But definitely not favoritism.
Um, so we just wanted to, uh, you like you a little bit too much.
A little too much.
A little too much.
A little too much.
Yeah.
Um, yeah. And I mean, just a, just like one more kind of call for you guys.
Like definitely let us know what's going on, you know, ask us questions, um, either through us
or through a, through a moderator or through a lead mod or through, you know, anybody like as long
as the, as long as your concerns get to us, we are more than happy to listen to them, you know,
We may not respond right away, but we are definitely reading and we are definitely, you know, take it to account everything you say.
You know, it is important to us that you guys feel like you are safe in the community and that you're happy here.
And if something doesn't make you happy, even if it's another user or another moderator, you know, let us know.
So just, you know, as an example, let's say Alan's being really mean to you, right?
I'm using him as an example because he's never mean, right?
But let's say Alan's being really mean to you.
Don't go to Alan first.
Talk to Aiden or TIGI or PSU or MEC or Sue.
right or sui or you know or me or be or anybody right and then we can work on it and then we can we can make
it better yeah and share this recording with your friends too like if you have friends that are
upset about stuff throw them this recording and be like hey listen to this the admen's
literally telling you listen to the adamant's curse hey no you have a new core value and it has
that word in it regarding the favoritism stuff um i think
I think I'm pretty nice to everyone in the server.
I consider myself fairly friendly to everyone who messages me, who works with me, who interacts with me, et cetera.
But with that being said, I do not play favorites.
I have worn, muted, and banned NZXT staff members, NZXT admins, NZXT moderators,
Champions, guardians, defender supporters, friends, newbies, normies, you name it.
Like, everyone in my eyes is treated the same.
And that to me is how I can truly foster community is by not playing favorites, you know?
Right.
The everyone, everyone's, the rules apply to everyone.
It's not just, you know, certain people.
So, yeah, there is definitely.
no favorites going on and if you think there is, you're wrong. Because if you've been in the server
a while, you know, you'll see that no one here gets special treatment except me. Right. Right. And
I also want to throw out to that, I would have kind of a special treatment, but we will take
it to account your situation, right? So I have an example. I'm not going to name names because I don't want
to out anybody because it's not very nice, right? But there is a user who is,
no longer with us, right? This was a long time ago. But they told me, you know, like a while
back that they were having some issues, right? And they just weren't feeling great.
And I'm like, okay, don't worry about it, you know, just hang on the server, you know,
be nice, follow the rules. If you need to talk, anything, you know, let us know, and you know,
we'll do what we can to help. Obviously, you know, we're not a professional, but, you know,
sometimes you just need a listening here, right? And every now then I would see the user
talking in the server and they would start to kind of get to that point where their,
their conversation was becoming inappropriate.
And I would personally DM them,
hey, just let you know,
you might not want to continue with this conversation
because you're going to get in trouble.
Eventually, they got to a point where they said something
on the server that we just couldn't ignore
and we had to get rid of them.
And it was one of the suckiest things
because we don't want to see any users leave.
And I'm not saying this is like special treatment.
We obviously can't speak to everybody, right?
But I mean, if you let us know,
what's going on, like, we're more than happy
to listen to you and and and and uh and we're more than happy to work with you right so it's just
one of those things we're like you know we we want to be here for you if you're here for us you know
um it's it's it's a it's a give and take ongoing relationship right and obviously we can't be
there for everybody all the time but we we we do our best you know we we we only have so much time
for every single of our 100,000 users in the server yeah and uh too if you if you feel like
someone has gotten banned without, like, you know, without them deserving that.
A lot of the time you guys don't see is, like, we'll pull up, like, mod logs on someone,
you know, prior to their ban.
If they've got, you know, 10 to 15 infractions, which happens sometimes, and we've given
them more than enough chances, we've DM them more than enough times.
To you guys, you might not see that side.
You might see, oh, they made a couple mistakes in the server.
The admins never really talked to them.
and then they just decided to ban them.
That's not true.
There's been a lot of people who have gotten banned from the server
or left the server who have had literally a laundry list
of warnings, mutes, and bans
and given them more than enough chances, let them appeal.
But we can't spend all of our energy and all of our time
trying to have someone or force someone to understand
how to behave in the server, right?
We're willing to take that time to talk.
we're willing to take that time to, you know, be more lenient.
Maybe we'll warn a couple times for something when we know, you know,
someone's going through a hard time instead of just rushing straight to muting or banning.
But like at the end of the day, if we see that huge laundry list and we've spoken to someone
many times about their behavior, we're not going to hesitate to take that next step.
And that's something, again, that you guys don't see, but we definitely see.
So, you know, just another thing to keep in mind.
All right.
So we got through that.
Stay tuned for the end of the other than.
Okay.
Club stuff.
Let's talk about some cool stuff that we're doing.
Supposed to just, you know, kind of telling you guys to be better.
Telling ourselves to be better too.
I mean, I mean, we all can be better, right?
Okay, so club stuff.
We are working on fun new stuff.
which is one of the reasons why we brought on a lead moderator
and why we're moving things around
because we want to have time to do more cool, fun stuff.
Amanda, what are we doing?
What are we doing, Amanda?
So touching base back on the lead mod position,
we have be working on a few different projects behind the scenes.
So there's going to be at least one new event,
or no, two new events added to the server very soon.
April is going to be a very big,
month. So we're going to be doing some things that are going to bring like the server closer
together, have you guys be able to actually participate in things other than contests, which is
also awesome, but one of the only and main things we're doing right now. So we are working on,
you know, events. And then we're also working on a new way to reward users who are behaving
super well in the server and are outstanding members of the Discord server or the club community.
So something that would be happening monthly that would reward that person with a lot of goodies
for just essentially having good behavior and just being, you know, a model citizen, I guess you
could say.
Setting good examples.
Setting great examples.
Yeah.
So that person is going to, you know, each month will pick someone out of the group and
be able to give you guys some awesome goodies that you don't otherwise get.
And then I have an announcement a little bit later for a new seasonal event that's going to be happening on the server, which will start in April.
No.
I love battle pass.
It's not, but I feel like you guys.
It's going to cost five Discord nitros.
I feel like you guys have a lot of requests with club itself.
and I've spent, since I've moved to the community team, basically brainstorming on a way to give you guys something that's really big and awesome outside of your general club rewards and the stuff you do while you're within club.
So outside of the XP system, everything like that.
So I'm extremely excited to announce it.
It's going to be at the end of the, at the end of the podcast today.
I'll go through essentially all the steps, what it's going to look like and everything like that, which I,
But like I said, it's going to start in April.
However, after today, we're going to start the first step to get towards that.
So I'll explain more about that later.
So yeah, so we're going to be rewarding great members of the community.
We're going to have a new seasonal event that's going to take place in the server that's outside of club.
We're going to be doing themed nights of participation in the server, different like activities around that.
So more on that when it's closer to being final.
we're going to be obviously switching up that topic of the month and doing a lot of other cool things.
So again, like these are ideas that are outside of club, but it's going to allow you guys to
spend more time together and talk more about things and have that incentive to stay in the server,
have fun, participate in stuff.
So it's looking good.
We have like a very big list of awesome activities that I literally cannot wait to announce,
which is why I'm hinting at them because it's, I'm like,
like bursting at the seams trying to keep this stuff a secret.
But yeah.
And also the mods are helping us with these things too.
So you can also thank them when you do know what we're doing.
And yeah.
And another-
Think them regardless, you know?
Thank them regardless.
Yeah.
Another thing we're also working on too is,
I know you guys, like I said, a bunch of times.
You're looking for more from club.
So we are working on a more long-term plan.
of where we want to take club in the future.
We want to build club into something that's more than just the Discord server,
although we do love the Discord server.
So right now we have a lot of plans going on,
a lot of things in the works where we're going to be connecting a lot of the stuff we do
and having more of like a platform for you guys to go and stay connected
and earn cool things,
which again will be outside the Club rewards.
in the server. So definitely stay tuned for that. And yeah. Do we want, do you want Ivan to give a
little hint of what that possibly could look like? Sure. Feel free, Ivan. For which activity
in particular? For C, for different, for new club stuff. I don't want to name anything.
A feature club. Right now, the NZXT club lives solely on the Discord server, right?
But what if the NZXT club actually lived everywhere if T is?
Everywhere?
Like right now we just reward people for joining the Discord server and chatting there,
but wouldn't it be cool if you can get rewarded for maybe following NZXT on Twitter
or maybe buying something on our store or maybe attending a meetup or a pop-up.
or using cam or whatever it is related to NZXT, you know.
And then wouldn't it be even cooler if apart from the existing Discord rewards,
there was like a whole new point system that gave you additional rewards
that you can then use to trading those points and get cool stuff.
So basically that's the big thing that we're trying to figure out
is how to keep the club getting bigger and better and stronger and more fun and exciting for you guys.
Right, because when you think about it, the NC's club isn't just a Discord server.
It's a lifestyle, right?
You live it outside of, I mean, it's true, right?
You live it outside of the club.
You take it with you, right?
You put it on your back, literally, right?
You wear the club, right?
and you slip on your club socks,
assuming that's a thing.
I'm kidding, it's not a thing,
but you never know, right?
You never know.
But it's, yeah, it's, it's,
one of the reasons why we're making all these changes
is so we can prepare the server,
prepare the mods, prepare everybody
for what we want to do next
so that when it does happen,
it's an easy transition,
everyone's super excited,
it's hype as heck, right?
And everyone can have a lot more fun.
And, one,
again proving the NZXT loves all you guys.
We do.
We really do.
Yeah.
We didn't spend so much time doing this stuff.
Yeah.
If we hated you guys, if we'd be unfair and just punish you for no reason,
we literally would not be doing it in these projects.
We would leave the server as it is, let it go, let the mods do whatever,
and we wouldn't care.
But the fact of the matter is that we care a lot to the point where all we do behind
the scenes is like thinking about how to make it better for you guys.
And it's slow because we want it to be as good as it can be.
We want to provide quality, not just quantity.
So again, it's going to take some time for things to start rolling out on the server and elsewhere,
but it's because we're trying to make it the best we can for you guys.
As long as you remember that this is the NZXT server,
if you want to talk about other products, then you can go elsewhere.
I'm kidding.
Imagine having an anime channel?
Yeah, like you don't even need to be a NZT customer or nothing like to be in the server.
The community is open to everyone.
You don't even have to be a PC gamer.
All you have to be is just someone who wants to have fun, be nice, and help each other.
Because we just want to have like a positive environment for people, regardless of what computer they're using or whatever.
Right.
Yeah, you can talk about anything you want, you know, just be nice, have fun and help each other.
That's it.
That's all we ask.
Also, to a comment in chat, like, if you like other servers, feel free.
Like, you don't have to just stay here.
Yeah, go wherever you want.
And enjoy what you want to enjoy.
And you can talk about other places in here, too.
Like, we literally don't care about that.
All we care about is you guys are having a good time.
And that's it, right?
It doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter if you like other companies and us or whatever, only other companies and not us.
I mean, it is what it is, right?
Just like what you like, do what you want to do.
Start your own server and promote it in bulletin board.
Yep.
I do want to address one thing in the comments real quick or in the chat.
Man gaining plays.
That's a word name says.
Maybe you have a club reward like level 45.
You get a store discount.
So like things like that would be cool.
But we also have a lot of people on the server who aren't from the US, right?
The NZXT store is only only ships to US.
And even like if you're in Canada, right?
So we should be LD to Canada and to US, but for NZXT store is just US.
And then Canadians have their own, their own stores, right?
So we also want to think of solutions that can include as many people as possible,
regardless of where they're at and where they can buy things.
Because like Ivan was saying, you don't have to be an NXT customer to be an N60 fan, right?
You don't have to be a PC gamer.
You don't even have to be a gamer.
You can just really like books or photography, right?
Or just really like anime.
And you can still be a fan of NZXT and be a fan of what we do and be a fan of our community.
Maybe you just want to be a fan of Pucci.
Yep.
You just really like purple plushies.
Then you want one for yourself.
That's totally cool too.
If you just want a purple shirt.
Yeah, maybe you just want, you know, a friend, that too, you know.
Maybe you just want like a hang out with money or cuddle or bugsy.
or anyone.
Yeah.
Sayushi or Oliver or Sarah,
I'm going on the list here,
or SFF guy or Regal or
his name everyone,
sir.
Any one of these people can be your friends.
All right.
Do you want to talk about Animal Crossing Amanda?
I feel like it's a weird transition,
but I really want to hear.
So,
so let's take a break from all
that and we'll get to the town hall questions.
Feel free to submit your questions.
Ivan recently told us that he's playing Animal Crossing.
And I want to know, I really want to know, before we get into anything else, how has your
experience been Ivan with Animal Crossing?
So it's like, I guess I was kind of getting annoyed that everyone was just hyping up Animal
Crossing before it launched and talking about Animal Crossing and then like, and just
is really building it up.
So I kind of downplayed it a little bit,
but I'm a big Animal Crossing fan.
I used to play all the time on the DS days.
So I kind of just was telling people,
now I'm not going to download it or I want to play Doom more or whatever.
But that was all a lie.
It was like in my mind, I was like,
I'm going to get Animal Crossing and I'm going to have like the coolest island,
you fools I've ever seen.
So yeah, I've been playing Animal Crossing, not a lot, you know,
but maybe like an hour a day or whatever.
but I think what annoys me about the people that are playing Animal Crossing is like they're not really playing it the right way.
And what I mean by that is like the people that are traveling in time, cheating, all this stuff.
Like that's, if you're going to be doing that, like, just don't play Animal Crossing.
Because the whole point of Animal Crossing is to like, do, yes, do things your own way.
but if you're doing things your own way to like,
it's not a race, basically, is what I'm trying to say.
Like, there's no end game.
So the fact that you're trying to get like every fruit
or, you know, the biggest house or all this thing faster than everyone
is just really annoying to me.
It's just like, it's not a race.
Just enjoy the game.
Not, you know, and don't play it because you're trying to like beat someone.
And I feel like a lot of people that play the game,
they do it because they're trying to like compete with each other
to see who has the better island.
That's not what Animal Crossing is about.
It's supposed to be the exact opposite of that.
It's supposed to just be kind of like the server,
just a place where you can go and just chill.
I'm not having to worry about all the competition and drama
that goes outside of the server and other servers or other games.
It's, yeah, basically just stop time traveling.
Yeah, I went to the Animal Crossing.
um subreddit and the first thing i saw that was pin was like here's a spreadsheet of the best
selling items and what times and i'm like oh my god like y'all getting too sweaty over this game
like you know what last night i was from 10 to 11 p.m i i literally dug holes of my entire island
why just because it was fun it was fun digging holes like i didn't care about you know like oh i got
go visit an island, I got to collect peaches, and I got to sell this, and I got to, you know,
buy this and do that. It's like, obviously you have to do those things in the game, but the whole
point of Animal Crossing is to just be very leisurely with it. At least that's how I take the game.
I know not everyone might agree with me, but that's how I like playing that game. And that's why I like
the game so much is because I'm really
Not a huge fan of competitive games, although the game I've played the most is CSCO.
The reason I quit playing it, just because I got fed up with all the competitiveness of it.
Same reason, even though I like Street Fighter or Fighting Games, I don't play them on much or take him seriously is because I just want to have fun.
I don't want to, like, you know, have to feel like I'm like fighting a war with someone all the time.
I just want to dig holes on my island and lay on a hammock and just take screenshots of that.
Yeah.
Just want to dig holes.
What fruit did you get first?
Apples.
Apples?
Actually, do I have apples?
I think I have apples somewhere, but I don't know where they were.
I got apples first, too.
Oh, huh.
But I rerrolled until I got pairs, even though everyone hates pairs, but I like pairs, so I don't care.
So that's the thing with me, right?
Like, I don't like to rerole anything.
Like, I get what I get in the game, right?
Like to me, that's, right?
This is me being like gatekeeping now, right?
Like if you want to, if you want to re-roll and get pairs, that is awesome, right?
But I just get what I get and then I make the best of it, right?
I just like, oh, cool.
I got Peegis first.
That's really cool.
Great.
I guess I'll have those then.
Because I know eventually down the line, I'm going to get pairs, right?
You're going to come.
Exactly.
If you play the game, eventually you are going to get everything.
And that's what really just annoys me is like the people that think it's a race.
It's like they have to get everything like first before everyone and they'll do whatever it takes to do that.
You know, they'll grind Animal Crossing.
It's like, why are you grinding Animal Crossing?
It's like it's a game with like raccoons and like you owe money to order.
Recrues would put you into death.
Yeah, exactly.
It's like, come on.
It's like it's not a race.
Just eat your pairs or apples or whatever and just enjoy it.
Eat your pairs, eat your apples and enjoy it.
Digging holes is fun, believe it or not.
I was one of the things I also saw on the start by it was someone saying that they spent three hours re-rolling to get a to get an island that had a airport with the blue roof and apples or something yeah imagine spending three hours not playing the game just because you don't like the color of your airport right like to me that's like this game is not for you I am I re-rolled I want to say it was anywhere between
maybe four to six times and it's because it's because I didn't like out I didn't like the layout of my island at all for the first like few times I tried and then I did like the layout of the island but then I wasn't getting a fruit I wanted um I hate apples I'm sorry apples to me are the basic fruit I know people hate pears because they're green and the trees are green and everything is green so they don't they want that
pop of color but I've I just I'm not a huge fan of apples because it's like the basic fruit um so
so I kept re-rolling until I got um I wanted like pears or cherries or oranges like those were the
three I was kind of looking for I actually got peaches once but everyone I know got peaches so I was
like yeah what is the benefit of this right I wanted to I wanted to have a fruit that other people
would want to come to my island for so no one wants to roll pairs but everyone wants to come
one word to steal your pairs.
So, yeah, exactly.
Yeah, so I re-rolled a few times and I finally got a layout that I really like to, so it was worth it.
I do want to give a shout out to B because she decimated her entire island of trees, right?
We're talking about this the other day.
So what people don't tell you, and this is me getting a little too deep about it, but what people don't tell you where the games and tell you is there's three different axes, right?
There's a flimsy axe, the stone axe, and then there's like the regular axe, right?
If you use the regular axe and just chop a tree so you can get some wood, you'll eventually take down that tree.
It goes away, right?
So what happened is that B used the regular axe on a bunch of trees and got rid of all her trees.
And I'm on her island.
I'm like, yo, B, what happened to all your trees?
And she's like, oh, I just needed some wood.
I'm like, that's not how you do it.
But even though she had a huge, like, empty space and lack of tree, she's still stuck with it, right?
And she kept playing because to me, that's what I'm across.
costing is, right? Like I didn't know. Yeah, exactly. Like, I didn't know that, that,
um, if you, if you eat the fruit, right, and you, uh, hit the rock with the shovel, it breaks the
rock, right? I thought that was in a way you can get iron ore because it doesn't really tell you,
hey, this is how you get these, these, uh, you get these little iron nuggies so you can make all
these items that you got to do, right? Um, but I was like, you know what? It's okay. My rocks will
respond in a couple days. I'm not going to stress over it. I'm just, you know, this is the game
that I played, this is where it ended up, right?
I'm just going to, I'm going to let it happen,
and I'm going to enjoy the game, and just, you know, let it go.
I think that's the best way to play Animal Crossing is,
it's just, you know, let whatever happens happens, right?
You eventually will get everything, right?
You'll be, you'll be fine.
You'll be fine.
Just relax.
Just relax.
Calm down, and you will get your blue airport.
with your peaches.
All right.
Cool.
I just really wanted to talk to Ivan about Animal Crossing because Ivan is a, as you all
know, he's a very interesting person.
And he always has a very interesting takes.
No one even asked me what the name of my island is.
What is the name of your island?
My name of your island.
My name of my island is Astro World.
Thanks.
I hate it.
And my house has, my, my house.

Shoky, no.
Thanks for that.
All right, town hall.
Town hall, okay.
So this is where we're going to answer some of the more serious questions that you guys have for us.
We ask you guys for questions pertaining to the server, the future of the server, questions about the server, really more like club server-related stuff than like the general questions usually ask us.
So if we do ignore some of these questions, it's because they're not, they're not the questions that we're looking for.
and I think that it's better served to ask those questions in a regular podcast that we take community questions normally.
So we're not ignoring you on purpose, right?
But we do want to address certain things that people really want to know about that we know people are going to ask about.
I have a good first question.
Go for it.
It's not a question at all.
Oh, what is?
But I'm going to bring it up because I think that this is going to take a little bit of time to actually touch base on and talk about.
And I know a lot of you, even people who are just like sitting in and listening on the podcast,
want to know what happened with this situation.
So I'm going to bring it up first and foremost,
rip the Band-Aid off.
We have a question about the recent design contests.
The removal of a winning sticker from the competition,
even though the Discord branding clearly says that Wampus is free to use.
So I'm going to take the first turn to answer this because we'll just go person to person,
but let me explain the situation that happened here.
So first and foremost, the Wampus part of that is actually not true.
So Wampus is free to use for an individual under fair use.
It is not free to use for every single company for a promotional slash asset in a promotional slash asset way.
So if we wanted to use that design in other places, we would have to talk with Discord
directly, asked for their permission to avoid any complications. And the reason why we know this is because
we did speak to someone who is in our own staff, who is ex-Discord, and they cleared that air for us.
We've also looked around and done our own research. So it is fair use for an individual,
but it is not fair use for a company slash brand. So if we wanted to take that winning submission
and use it in other places, we would have to go and speak to Discord about it.
which also, you know, poses its own complications.
Our terms for the design contest say that any submissions,
essentially we then get to use that designs in any way,
and then we sort of, in a way, kind of own those designs, right?
If a design has Wampus in it and Discord owns Wampus, that is a conflict, right?
So although they're in that situation,
the person who got their entry removed did email,
Discord about it, they did show us the conversation and nowhere in that conversation did it say
companies or brands like Discord could use, like NCXT could then use Wampus or their logos or anything,
however we want to, right? So we actually did our own research. We actually inquired about that
and we got our answer. So I know you guys were confused about that. I know some people got upset about it,
but that is the answer that we received. So to play it safe, we decided to
remove the entry. And on the flip side, the way I interpret that is if a company all of a sudden
started printing stickers or making t-shirts with Pucci, first thing I would do would be to
contact our lawyers until I'm to stop. Yeah, so we got a question in chat. Couldn't you talk
to Discord about it because it was a really awesome design? See, like even if we wanted to talk to
discord about it. It's still the part of our terms that is the problem, right? So there's still going to be a
weird conflict with that design. So we want everything that's submitted in the design contest to be
everyone's own individual, 100% like own artwork sort of like design, right? We want everything to come
from you guys. And also like just like it's a rule that we didn't clarify. We take fault that we
did not clarify this ahead of time. And we are sorry that it is our.
mistake. This is literally our mistake that we did not say anything about this originally.
And we take that fault and we are sorry for it. But it is what it is. It's ever happened before.
It's ever happened before where it's like we felt we had to put that in the rules, you know?
Yeah. And it also wasn't just that situation either. Like there was also another entry that used
some of Nibbler's art, right? And whether she, whether that entry requested Nibler or not,
we didn't feel like it was very fair to use someone else's artwork in an entry, right? When it
really should be your own design, right?
So just to quickly read what we put into the terms of service.
So the reason why we created the terms of service is because we realized after the last
contest, right, which is kind of how this is, right, it's a learning experience that we're
learning from our mistakes and learning about, you know, what we shouldn't have as rules.
There was someone who was trying to sell one of their entries as stickers, which, you know,
normally we don't really care, right?
It's a, it's a community creation, right?
But we spoke to our lawyers and they said that, you know, while it's not that big deal,
it could possibly create problems in the future when it comes to branding and poochy and things like that.
So we spoke to them and we requested that they take it down.
They were super cool with it.
And we actually ended up using it officially as artwork for our monthly calendar, right?
So it's one of those things where, you know, we're more than willing to work with people.
But unfortunately, because of that, we did have to add those terms.
and conditions where it says that basically if you submit artwork to the to to to any of our
contests we have the right to use it for for promotional purposes or or to do things with it which really
just means that if you want to make stickers and give it to people we can if you want to use it
as you know like a cool t-shirt to give away for free we can but we need to retain the right
to use those those submissions so that people
don't then go on, hey, I made this artwork, you owe me a million dollars, right?
Yeah, and even though, yes, we are friends with Discord.
People are typing in the chat, well, aren't you guys friends with Discord?
Yeah, we are.
And I'm sure if we really wanted to make a big deal about it and, like, you know,
involve lawyers and, like, have signed contracts so you can just print these stickers,
probably could go through the hassle of doing it, but it's not even so much that it's Discord.
It could have been any company.
If that design would have featured Coca-Cola or Nintendo or Coursera, right.
Whatever, it doesn't matter what it is.
Any company, yeah.
If we were to, yeah, like, it wouldn't be, it wouldn't be right because, like, if someone,
some other company was using the NZXT logo or Pucci or whatever, we'd have, we for sure would have an issue with it.
We wouldn't want to print stickers, you know, even if we were friends, we'd probably be like,
hey, how can you guys didn't tell us about this?
So yeah, that's basically it.
And I just want to bring up one more comment.
Disqualified after you have 200 votes in our first place isn't the best thing to see.
So let's talk about that.
We went through the votes.
A lot of those accounts were created specifically just for voting on the entry.
And that same day as well.
On that same day.
And there were a lot of them.
and we felt that it was unfair because the voting process is supposed to be for those who are in the community, right?
So if you are gathering outside users to come in and place votes on your entries so you win,
and they create those accounts, they do it, and then they just leave the server because, again,
they're not genuine Discord accounts. They're created for the purpose of voting.
That, in our opinion, it's not fair to anyone else, right?
It's not fair to the other people who are entering their designs and getting those genuine
votes of people who are actually in the community.
And again, you guys are going to take that on your own way, whether or not, you know,
you believe that it was not the person in questions like call to action for people to go do
that for them.
We don't have 100% proof either way, right?
We can't say whether that person decided to then go ask those people.
We can't say that, you know, they didn't, right?
Either way, we have to use our best judgment.
We've talked about this before.
So the fact of using Wumpus, then the voting, I mean, it was our judgment called to say,
okay, we don't know how fair this design is.
So let's just take it down.
That person was more than capable of then bringing up a new design without doing those same,
without doing the voting and the having Wampus in it.
They chose to leave the server and they chose to handle it in a way that didn't allow us to talk to them about it respectfully and honestly and to communicate with them.
So again, I mean, it is what it is.
Yeah, and the voting has never been an issue up until now.
And we've always looked it up to everyone in the server, newbies to whoever vote.
But now that it did become an issue, we are going to make it so you have to be a certain level or higher.
to vote.
And going like, kind of to go back a little bit to what Amanda said, like we had to make
a call about the votes.
You know, like, yeah, that entry got a lot of votes.
And, you know, do you really think we're going to spend the time to contact each of those
200 people or whatever it was that voted and asked them, did you really mean to vote for
this?
And why did you leave the server?
Like, you know, it's just at what point do you just say, okay, well, most of these votes are
coming from people who created accounts today and then join the server and left or join the server
and left or whatever. It's like, yeah. So I do want to answer this question that I meant I did in chat,
but I do want to get it like on the recording as all. Didn't a guy bring his community during the
previous podcast? His name was System 32 and I believe it was second. It was second place. So yes,
he did. But the difference is that he has an existing community, right? We can verify that he's a
content creator. People enjoy him, right? And people do follow him.
The difference is that the accounts on the
accounts on the latest design contest were made the same day,
only voted in that particular entry.
And then those accounts were gone or deleted immediately afterwards.
But the reactions still stay.
It's just the way that the reactions on Discord work.
So it was again, it was a combination of multiple things
where we're like, you know what, if it was one thing,
maybe we can look to it and fix it.
If it was another thing, maybe we can look into it,
fix it.
But the combination of everything,
We just didn't feel comfortable having that entry up with everything else.
Yeah.
With every other user's entry in there.
Yeah.
And two other points.
These design concepts are new.
This is only the fourth time we've done it.
So we're still learning how to structure them properly as we go along.
And this is the first time where there has been any sort of issues.
So going forward, yeah, we're going to definitely be more clear in the type of artwork that's acceptable, what is in it.
how the voting process works.
And this contest in particular,
this is the first contest where we even had terms of service.
And that's not because we wanted to add them.
That's because our legal team told us,
hey, you guys are going to be doing these contests
and printing stickers.
You should have some terms because you could open up
a can of worms in the future.
We're not saying that that's going to happen,
but we do have to kind of protect ourselves a little bit
in case that happened.
And two other comments.
That's one, real quick.
Number one, we are going to be restricting the voting to club members.
So in the future, we will not have a situation like this again,
because you will have to be at least friends are higher to vote.
Number two, this person who got their entry taken down has won a previous design contest.
I just want to clear the air that if there was any favoritism,
if there was any shady activity that happened,
it would have happened the first time that this person entered into the design contest.
We would not even, why would we allow them, why would we, if we have problems now, why wouldn't we have done something back then that's shady, right?
Stop the process in some way or give stipulations or take the entry down for a silly reason or something.
We obviously wanted them to win.
I have that sticker literally on my PC case at work.
I voted for it myself and I loved it.
I loved it.
Like, we do not want to discourage you guys from participation and there is no conspiracy behind.
this. It's literally about legal issues, the voting. And yes, ideally, and, you know, in an ideal
world, we would have handled it sooner, like a lot quicker and given that person more chances to be
able to get something in before the contest ended. But the reality of the situation is, like we've
stated earlier in the podcast, we have a lot of work outside the Discord server. We're not always
present. We're not always seeing everything as soon as it happens. We receive complaints about it.
that's when we looked into this situation.
So again, like we did the best we could.
We're learning.
We're sorry for the mistakes that we did make in this process.
And in future design contest,
we're going to clarify everything
and make it better moving forward.
Trust me, we recognize where our fault was in the situation
and we're going to be working to fix that.
So.
And if you guys really want to draw Wampus,
we could set up a design contest where we partner with Discord
and we work out the details beforehand.
and set that up.
So, right.
You know, it's not, not that we're like against using other companies artwork.
It's against using other companies our work without permission.
So.
Right.
And we just didn't expect that happen, you know.
Again, that's, you know, it's like, it's like we said again, it's definitely our fault, our failure to plan.
And, you know, now that we learn, we're going to make it better next time.
Because we want to keep doing this.
You want to still see your artwork.
You want to give out more free stickers.
I mean, you know, it's just, you know, we spend a lot of time and money and effort making these things happen.
And, you know, we don't want to see them go away, right?
We want them to keep going so you guys can have a lot of cool stuff to do.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's see.
Other questions here.
So that one, I think, yeah, it's probably part of the best one to start with.
Let me look here because I didn't go through all of them.
There's some other ones.
I have another one lined up if you want me to just throw another one out there.
Yeah, go for it.
So we have a lot of questions regarding the recent changes on the moderation team.
What's up with the new moderation system?
Why are OG mods getting demoted?
I don't know if you guys want me to speak first on this.
It's up to you.
I can go first.
Sure, go ahead.
So when Amanda came through, we had the opportunity to finally start working on a better process for the mods.
Because one of the complaints that we kept getting in our DMs, so thank you for letting us know, right?
was they felt like the moderation was inconsistent, it was too strict, it wasn't fair, so on and so forth.
So one of the things that we did is we revamp the moderator guidelines to make it more clear,
to make it more understandable, to also give you guys more of a chance to hang out on the server.
We found that the old moderation in the past was way too strict for really small things, right?
So for example, if you say something like, you know, you say the F word, right, as opposed to
you start, you know, harassing users in DMs and stuff.
We would weigh those things differently.
Oh, sorry, we didn't weigh those things differently.
Everything was even, right?
So if you said a bad word versus you're literally harassing a user
and trying to fight with them would be the same thing.
The way we have it set up now is we want to give you guys more of a chance to learn
and to grow and to be better community members.
So which is why you might feel like some of the moderations are not consistent.
is because we do believe that if you screw up and say a bad word, it's not the same as attacking a user and maybe making them leave or hurting their feelings, right?
So part of those guidelines that we set for the moderators is a code of conduct, right?
How to treat each other, how to treat other users, and how to also handle themselves outside the server.
One of the things that a lot of people like to do when they start moderating or start working with a community like NCXT,
first thing they'll do is go to the Twitter bio or the Instagram bio and they'll add at NST moderator, right?
They want people to know, I'm working with this company.
I'm very proud of it.
So in the same vein, you know, we want to work with you too, but you also have to uphold the ideals that we set forth, right?
the NXT core values, right?
So if you find that these users or these people in general aren't following those guidelines,
then we have to have a talk with them, right?
And then after we have that talk, then we, you know, make sure that they're doing better.
If they're doing better, then if they don't, then we unfortunately have to have another conversation with them
with the possibility of removing them from the moderation team.
I'm not going to name names, obviously, right?
But basically some people on the moderation staff were conducting those selves in a manner that we didn't find to be favorable and didn't reflect well on us, reflect well on the moderation team.
And not just in this server, but in other places.
And it got to the point to where we didn't feel comfortable with them acting the way that they were acting in other places and then acting a different way on our server.
If you're going to be a moderator, the first thing we tell the moderators is you're not better than anybody, right?
You're a community member with more responsibility, and you're also a community leader.
So if you can't lead a community in and outside the server, then you can't lead the community for us at all.
Yeah.
And I think the fact that we, you know, demod,
moderators. That's just proof right there that we don't play favorites. Everyone is held accountable.
If an administrator even was not acting appropriately, we would, you know, do we had to do to
take care of it. So, yeah, like everyone, everyone that's in the server, regardless of your role or
status or responsibility has to follow certain guidelines.
All of them, you know, we have to take action.
And we don't want anyone to necessarily feel like, oh, they're playing favorites or they don't like this person because they got rid of this role or whatever.
It has nothing to do with that.
It just has to do with making sure everyone is treated equally and fairly.
That's it.
Right.
Right. If we see a moderator exhibiting behavior that we would warn you or ban a member for,
why would we not hold them accountable to that, right? Why would we allow them to have that type of behavior and then let it slide?
That would be favoritism. But instead, when we see things that are things we wouldn't allow, you know, your average regular server user to do,
we're going to handle that even so a little bit harsher because of the fact that they are a moderator and they
should definitely know better, right?
They should be leading you guys on how to behave and how to act.
So if they can't even do that, why should they be a mod, right?
So a lot of the demods in the past have literally been a moderator breaking a server rule
or exhibiting behavior that has made other users in the server uncomfortable or upset.
And then we have assessed it as a team in every single decision that we make,
especially with like removing admins is done with me Dennis and Ivan we all talk about it together
we don't even we don't go to the mods and tell them situations that happen with other mods we handle
it admins only so those decisions are made by us we all sit down we all talk about it and we
we figure out the best course of action we do have a system in place in black and white in a document
of like what we what we do when situations do occur so everyone is treated the same so you know and it's
not that those people can't even like come back right like there's there's a lot of times where people
have been banned or punished in the server and still have become mods and we don't just because we
remove a mod doesn't mean that there's absolutely no chance in the future for them to prove themselves
and to come back if they want to take that as you know an end all be all leave the server
or complain or become a bad community member because of our decision.
That's their choice, right?
Otherwise, they could act incredibly well in the Discord server
and make their way back up into being a mod,
and we would have no issues with that.
If you can prove yourself, that's awesome, you know?
So again, like, for the sake of transparency,
all of these situations are handled through an actual system
that the admins have the sole decision over
and we don't just demod someone for the sake of demotting them.
It's a whole process.
It's literally a whole process.
It takes a very long time because we don't want to do it.
We don't want to do it.
We would want nothing more for all the moderators to be here forever
and do the best job that they can.
So you can continue giving them all the fun,
benefits that does come with being a moderator, right?
There is some fun to it, right?
There is some benefit to it.
But at the end of the day,
there are community members just like anybody else, right?
I myself have banned staff members coming in to the chat
because they weren't following the rules, right?
It's like if I don't care if you're getting paid,
if you can't act right on the server,
we're going to get rid of you, right?
Exactly, just like Jeff.
Jeff is a bad boy.
All right.
Yeah.
Do you have other questions, Amanda?
I think you might have a better list of I do.
Okay.
So let's take a look here.
So are we getting a level 30 or 60 reward,
not talking about the no band warrants or meets for 30 days
because that's never going to happen.
So as I touched base on earlier,
we are not releasing currently.
new level rewards and stuff like that for the for club but we are creating an entirely separate
seasonal event that will have its own unique prizes and rewards that you guys can win and it's
going to have its own system outside of XP that you guys will be able to participate in so it's
going to give you guys every season that we have it's going to give you guys things to work towards
that you wouldn't otherwise have gotten through the regular club system so
So if anything, we're creating an even better thing for you guys to want to achieve.
That doesn't happen at a specific level necessarily.
It's just participating in the event itself will gain you those rewards and stuff like that.
So we don't have something for that, but we have something outside of that that we're going to be announcing at the end of the podcast.
So stay tuned until the end.
I will tell you exactly what's happening.
But yeah, so that's the answer for that.
I don't know, Ivan, if you want to talk next door or Dennis on it.
The answer is no, you will never get a level 30 reward.
Jeez.
I mean, I said that a million times.
I don't know why they keep asking.
And if you want to know why, it's because you don't deserve it.
That's why.
Like what?
Yeah, like, just because everyone, I'll tell you exactly why.
So there's, if you think that a free sticker,
free lanyards, free t-shirts, free hoodies, free poochies are free. You're very mistaken. That's wrong.
I don't want to get into the exact details, but a huge amount of money is spent on just making sure we're able to ship all these free things, quote-unquote, free things to you guys all over the world.
And it's not just about the money, but it's just that the fact that people still think that they deserve more,
just because they want it, it boggles my mind because, for one, yeah, the server can't
can't follow the rules.
If you can back up for a mic a little bit, you're kind of a little blown out.
I'm getting aggressive.
Yeah, you sound a little blown out.
You're so angry.
It's, if the server was always, like, behaving, I guarantee you there'll be a lot more rewards.
And not that we don't want to do it, but it's like, I'm not going to introduce new rewards
when the server is still causing drama, still, you know, breaking rules, still still not welcoming
newbies, you know, still just basically not being good, you know.
Yeah.
And just because there's a whole level 30 doesn't mean that there's ever going to be a reward in there.
And if there is, then it's because you guys earned it, not because you guys asked for it.
And that's a, in my opinion, you get anything in life.
It's not by asking for it.
It's by earning it.
So if you want to be promoted at work, instead of asking for it, you're going to be promoted at work, instead of asking
for the promotion before you do the work, just do the work.
And I guarantee you eventually you will get promoted.
So here in the server, if you want more rewards, whether it's level 30 or level
1,000 or whatever it is, do the work first and then the reward will come later.
So what does it, what does it the work mean?
It means welcoming newbies.
It means following the rules.
It means being nice.
It means having fun.
It means helping each other.
it means being a good community member.
It means being someone that sets an example for others in the server,
someone who's not just here to cause drama,
someone who doesn't just rage quit the server when things don't go their way,
someone who after this podcast still thinks we're playing favorites for some reason or another.
Like, yeah, that's the reason why there's no level of third.
reward. And if you really want it, put in the work. And I guarantee you eventually you will get it.
All right. Sorry, sorry if I got a little loud there. Aggressive. No, it makes sense, right?
Honestly, I do feel like we give away a really good amount of stuff and they're not hard to obtain.
Other other rewards systems or plans are set up in a way to kind of make it harder for you to obtain things.
and we actually like up the
we're actually up the XP
every now and then without telling you guys
to help you fast track a little bit here and there
just you know it's like a reward
you know for hey
we want you guys to get poochie quicker
let's turn it up for a little bit
and then we turn it back down
so you know we
I honestly think we give enough
obviously we are going to do more
with the stuff that we have that we're working on
when it turns up for the club stuff
it'll probably be the way it is
for a little bit
if not for ever, just because we have other stuff in the-
And if you're here just for the rewards,
I guarantee you you're not going to enjoy being here.
Right.
Yeah, and I see some like sad or negative comments in chat.
I'm not sure if you guys aren't liking the answers.
I'm sorry, we're just telling you the truth.
Yeah.
If you want to be the server, if you don't feel like what we're doing
is good enough for you, I'm sorry.
We're doing our best.
Please don't make me cry.
I'm very sensitive.
Okay.
So is there ever a chance for old warnings be removed when a user has demonstrated good behavior for a long time afterwards?
That's not possible with dynamo or 26.
There isn't.
There isn't.
But I think the larger issue really is like, just don't break the rules.
You know, like it's really easy to don't break the rules and you'll be fine.
The reset is in your heart.
Yeah, if you are, if you're in danger of being,
of being like on your last warning to get banned, right?
Or you feel like, you know, one of them isn't fair or something,
you know, feel free to let us know, you know,
90% of the time we do stand,
like 99% of the time we stand by the decisions that the admins,
that the administrators make, right?
Because we trust them to take care of the server when we're sleeping
and doing other things.
But if you do have a concern, let us know.
But, I mean, the simple solution is just don't break any rules.
If you don't break into rules, you don't have to worry about getting gotten rid of English.
I will say too, though, like if there is someone that does want to come back to the server that, you know, got removed for whatever reason and is interested in coming back, feel free to DM one of the admins, talk to us, explain the situation, have them DM us, whatever, right?
we will look into it. We will handle everything as fairly as we can. There has been, you know, people who have gotten banned who have been able to appeal that and come back to the server. So it's not like, you know, we're totally against people being able to come back. But like, again, like the best way to avoid or prevent stuff like this from happening is to just read the rules and follow them, right? If you feel that something was handled unfairly too harshly, send us a message, explain it.
Show us some screenshots.
Show us, you know, whatever it is that you feel that we did incorrectly
and we will handle it the best we can.
That's all we can really do, right?
If we feel like someone is a detriment to the server, you know,
that's obviously going to be something that's going to make us not want to bring them back, right?
If we've talked to them time and time again, we've explained everything that they could do
to avoid getting removed and they still got themselves removed anyways.
I mean, that's just, right?
That's just it is what it is, you know, but we're open to the conversations.
Please come to us with your concerns.
You know, that's really how we can answer that.
True.
True facts.
Let's see.
I have one question here.
Is there a need for new mods?
I know modifications have been out for around two months.
So I would like to know if there is actually a need for more moderators at this moment in time.
We are looking for new moderators.
I would say our biggest need right now is just people from the European Union, EU, Europe, that whole area.
You know, we could always use some more help for Port Aden and just, you know, different time zones that we need coverage for.
So if you feel like you would be a good fit for the moderation team, we can throw out the applications.
There's somewhere in the announcements like way, way far up, but we'll throw them down again soon.
think of it as like almost like a job interview right like put your best foot forward you know be
honest you know give you know what you would you would do in the situations per what we put in
the applications yep and yeah you know I feel like you know we could always use more moderators
right they they work for free they don't get paid right you know sometimes we'll give them a chair
right but I mean I think you want to give them excuse me an NXT Vertigier gaming chair
Right, right. We gave them chairs, but it was like, I think that's like the only real, like really real big thing that we've given them, right, other than the own, like, stickers and stuff like that, right?
So they're definitely not paid. They work for free. They work for the community.
So if you feel like you can do that, you know, feel free to apply.
You know, and honestly, the more mods, the better. Because, you know, if you want to have a couple, then you feel like you can't take a break.
And we definitely want to make the moderators feel like they don't have to be on 24-7, but we can all be on.
on the same page and we can all, you know, help the server be better.
Yeah.
I also want to touch base on this.
So we do need more mods for the EU like time zone.
We do have a process for that, right?
So you fill out the application.
We vet the original, like we vet all of the applications to look for specific criteria.
So right now, obviously, if you're in a different time zone, you're going to be,
it's going to be less likely that you'll be looked at.
We are looking at some sort of EST, PST, Mods,
but generally speaking, we're just looking for people from EU.
So the first step is you fill out the application.
We vet through the applications.
You get an initial interview with our lead moderator who will,
it's literally just like think about it as a culture fit or an initial screening.
The questions are pretty basic.
it's nothing too complicated or too scary.
She will come to us and say,
this is the results of the interview.
It is up to the admins to then decide
if we want to continue with that person.
So we will take the feedback
and then we will decide ultimately
if we feel that's enough to stop the process
or if we want to continue the process, right?
Then that person will go through one final interview
with all three of us admins,
so Ivan, Dennis, and Amanda.
me. And we will ask the harder questions, right? The things that are more difficult, more on the spot,
and it's not really like, it's not easy, but we have to do what we have to do, right? We have to
be a little bit more on top of it there to make sure that this person is right for the role, right?
And then after that, the lead moderator, the admins come together. We discuss it. We also throw
names into mod chat, let our other mods get, you know, feed.
back and a say in on these people as well, if they feel that they've been good server members
and that they're deserving of the position. We all talk together. And then the admins make that
final decision of, okay, you know, this person, you know, is going to move on and we're going to add
their role. We are implementing a probational period for a new moderator. So a month or two months
of time where, you know, they're going to be under a certain level of scrutiny. Think about it like
getting a real life job.
You have 90 days before you even get your benefits, right?
So about 30 to 60 days of just watching everything that person is doing,
teaching them, making sure that they're getting things right.
Once they've proven that they're deserving of that permanent role,
they're out of probation, they're good to go,
and then they're held to the same standards that any other mod is healthy, right?
So that's kind of what the process looks like for transparency.
and if your application does not get picked, it does not mean that we dislike you.
It does not mean that, you know, we don't think that you're a good server member or that you're
helpful or anything like that.
We go based off of quality of the answers to the questions we ask and a few other different
criteria.
So it really just comes down to an overall feeling of, you know, is this person the right fit
in every in every way, right? Are they the perfect fit for what we're looking for? So,
so yeah, so don't take it as, you know, we dislike you or something. There's going to be a lot
of different rounds in the future for new mods, I'm sure, like the server is very big. We're
always going to need more people, especially when life happens. So, so yeah, so we're looking through
everything and those people will be notified when they're brought into the interview process. If you
are from the EU, you know, time zone, please fill out the application so we can take a look at it.
If you're interested and you think you'd be a good fit, that is all.
That's pretty much it.
Yeah, she answered it right there.
So yes, apply.
Yep.
Okay, this one, something a little bit more light.
When will the new roles be explained?
So the roles for the moderators, we can spend them right now.
They're very, very easy.
So, of example, we have dev team, which is what TIGY is under.
That's just basically working on backend stuff, bot stuff with TIGY bot, and things with that nature.
We have voice chat team, event team.
That's what like Aiden and some others are under.
Voice chat team is something we're working on, bringing the voice chat back.
We're just trying to find the best way to do it and the most fun way to do it so that people don't get in trouble.
Because we don't want to, we don't want to just throw it open and just have it, you know, be a reason for people to get, like, removed.
So, for example, one of the reasons that we got rid of the Porg channel, if you guys remember that old channel, is because it really just became an emote dump and it became a spot for people just to get baited to getting removed.
So we felt like it wasn't fair to have a spot in the server that the only real purpose was just for people to get in trouble in, right, because they weren't listening to the rules.
So, you know, we don't want to put something in place to, like, trap people, right?
We want people to stay.
We want people to have fun.
And if we're going to, there's going to be something that's going to cause people to get removed.
We're just going to get rid of it, right?
Then the event team is coming up with cool events.
So, you know, they're working with us to bring more fun things we can do in the server
to reward you guys and to highlight good community members and to encourage you guys to have more fun
and be nice to each other and to help each other out.
Then we got the band managers.
That's really just what they do.
They just help us manage the bands.
Really can't explain much more than that.
Revolving chat team, which is, you know, we have the photography channel that will be changing to another another channel, another topic soon.
Get ready to see what it is.
I can't tell you what it is because we don't want to, you know, we don't want to give up the secret yet.
But let's say it's a topic that people have been asking for a lot.
And we'll leave it at that.
And then I think is that the only one?
There's giveaway manager, which just helps us with the giveaway bot.
Nothing really too crazy there.
If you guys noticed in the roles channels, like the homies, champions, guardians, and so on,
PSU was the one who put up the giveaway bought for the sticker contest.
So it's basically that, you know, just like, small little things that we could do,
but, you know, if someone else can do it, why not have them do it, right?
And I believe those are all the other roles.
Oh, role manager.
So we only have one role manager, and that is Suey, because Suey has proven that he knows a lot about how to set up the Discord roles, because Discord is very complicated with how they manage roles.
If you've ever managed Discord server, you probably know that it's not easy, especially in a server where we have a bunch of bots that handle a lot of roles.
Things can break.
You change one thing and everything breaks.
So for example, when we try to add another role, it can literally take it take anywhere from five to ten minutes for that thing that actually show up as a change in the server because they have so many things on there.
Discord definitely needs to kind of fix the way they handle roles because it would be very confusing.
So we want to have one person who has the ability to do that because the more people who kind of stick their finger in that roll pie, the more it can break.
So shout out to Suey for helping us with that because he's like an expert at it.
And that's, you know, kind of like also why we have these, these roles is because we want,
we want to have moderators who can flex their, their skills, right?
And work on something that they, that they know and that they like.
And Suey has very often bugged us about the roles.
And like, I remember one day where he helped me on a Saturday.
When it wasn't working, right, I was supposed to be off.
He helped me fix up a lot of the roles a while back.
So, yeah.
And I think that's pretty much it for all the, for all the, uh, roles.
Did I miss anything, Amanda, Ivan?
No, I think that's it.
These roles were made for behind the scene stuff.
So we never felt like we were going to have a point where we were going to, um,
discuss what they were for really, um, just because they're, it's just behind the scene stuff.
Uh, but we also want you guys to know who's involved with what.
So if there's anything you like in the server, um, you know exactly who did it.
So if you like the topic of the month channel, you know, shout out to the event team for putting that up.
Right.
Stuff like that.
So, yeah, I think that's really it for that.
Let's see.
Any other questions?
Ivan, do you have anything you want to bring up?
I'm looking at some more stuff here just real quickly before we go, at least when you come to, like, questions about this.
How are you going to improve getting rid of fake accounts?
We were already kind of talked about that.
We can't look at every account that comes in here,
but we can take steps to make sure that they don't affect voting and stuff like that.
But I do want to, it's actually a question that leads into that.
Newbies joining in the server to just try to win giveaways,
just never interact in the server and win the giveaways.
So whenever we do a giveaway that includes everybody,
we make sure to include the server members first, right?
So, for example, people who are listening live,
isn't a lot right now.
We need about 17, maybe 20 people.
I can't count right.
But most of people who are listening to the podcast right now live
are people who are fans and they're active in the server
and they're listening to us.
Thank you, Alan, 41.
So we usually do you guys first and then we give you more
and then we'll open it up to everybody else
because we still want people to know that we're doing giveaways, right?
One of the ways to grow your like social media account
to grow a server is to grow a stream is to do giveaways.
99% of people who are going to come for a giveaway aren't ever going to come back.
But if we can get four or five cool new members who want to hang out, then that's worth it for us.
So that's why we don't always restrict it.
And also when we do giveaways, we also do it two ways.
Like the first way is we just do it with the people who are tuned in without tagging everyone.
And then we do another one where we tag everyone.
So we try to give everyone a fair chance.
Right. And, you know, I mean, and also, you know, who cares about, you know, a game key, you know, you have an NXT shirt. You have a hoodie. You have a poochie, right? Those are way cooler than, you know, a game that we're given away. That being said, though, I'm sure Dreadlands is a very cool game game. But like, you know, but like a game key is not the same as having like a club reward. To me, it's not, right? Getting cool NZXC stickers that you can't buy anywhere else. You can only get through the club. To me is more important than, uh, that.
than any game you can just spend money on, right?
Because we don't sell these rewards.
We give them to people as a reward for hanging out and having fun.
So yeah, I think that's it for that one.
Yeah.
Let's see.
Does spend too much more time because we do have to get to making more fun stuff on the server.
Let's see here.
Why? Okay, this is one I actually like.
Why is the NSXT?
Why is the NZXT clan only for Destiny?
I would love to see more games involved.
So it's actually something that we do want to work on soon,
and I'll probably throw that task to the events team,
so they can kind of figure out the best solution for it.
The reason why the NZXT clan right now is only for Destiny
is because I play Destiny,
and I ran the clan,
and I started, you know, kind of bringing it up when it was pretty much dead,
and really kind of bugging people to join it and have fun in it.
Unfortunately, I'm not enjoying the game right now,
because, you know, it's a lot of, you know, it's a lot of boring content that they're throwing in there.
But it's a different topic for another day.
But, you know, we would definitely like to see more clans and more games included in the Clans-Z-T stuff.
We just want to figure out the best way to do it so it doesn't become spammy and it doesn't become a annoying process for people.
And maybe it includes like a whole new category with different games, right?
Maybe it includes maybe like a second server or includes like a form or something, right?
There's a lot of possibilities that we can take that in.
If you guys have any suggestions, let one of the mods know,
and then they'll let us know about how we can figure that out.
Any wants to know, have you gotten the bomber yet?
Having gotten my bomber jacket for Garden Salvation.
So big rip.
It's also one of the reasons why I'm not playing all my dang jacket.
Okay.
Let's see.
Any other questions?
just before we close this off.
Let me take a look through.
Yeah.
Let's see.
Some people feel there has been a power struggle and some abuse of power.
How do you guys intend to fix this?
I don't feel like there is a power struggle.
We run the server.
We make all the final decisions.
I don't know why people think there's like some sort of like just like conspiracy.
Wait, wait, wait.
Hold on a second.
If you guys feel there's a power struggle, if you feel like there's an abuse of power, please, you know, contact us, let us know.
It's not really our decision to say what is or is an abuse of power or that it doesn't exist.
Right, right.
All of your concerns are valid.
Your feedback is valid.
So if you do see those things, the first step is to communicate that with us and let us know.
We don't see it ourselves.
And that's why it hasn't gone, you know, it hasn't, we haven't taken any action on it because,
because we obviously if we're the ones in power, so to speak, we're not going to be able to
read your mind and just know what you're talking about. So feel free to DM us. Let us know
where you see the inconsistency happening or the abuse happening and we will take care of it to
the best of our ability. We will contact the parties involved and get down to the situation.
I just wanted to clear up as the first and foremost point, please contact us.
The second point being we don't we don't see this on a daily basis.
So obviously we're not sure where that is, but just let us know.
And we will get to it.
Right.
And if you, yeah, so that's basically what I was going to say, just not as good as Amanda.
She's much better with words than I am.
But yeah, if you feel like something's happening, let us know.
We can't fix anything that we don't know is going on.
I don't feel like there is because at the end of the day, we make the decisions.
But if you feel like there is, then let us know and then we can talk about it with you.
and we can address it.
There's one question actually I did want to bring up from the chat.
I think it's pretty much it.
I don't think, do you guys have anything more to say on that?
Or is that I think we pretty much kind of answer that one, right?
There's no power struggle because I have all the power.
Jeez.
Sure.
Sure, Ivan.
Whatever you want to think.
Peach Jam wants to know, what's your idea on the groups in the server?
For example, the flower gang.
Personally, I don't like them.
I want everyone to be on the same team, which is team.
club nzxte um i think that putting you putting yourselves into specific groups um doesn't
doesn't uh foster community um personally i don't care i think anyone has a a symbol next to their name
thinking they're in a gang or whatever do anything like right right but i was just going to say like
I don't have a problem with it either if you guys want to do that.
The only thing that I would have an issue with is if it becomes clicky,
if you guys, you know, try to force other members out of your groups and try to exclude other people,
if you're mean or rude about it, if it starts breaking the rules,
if behind the scenes, you know, your click has involved into, you know,
nonstop complaining about the server and, you know, not communicating to us,
but causing problems within the server.
Yeah, I'm going to think, hey,
you know, that's not exactly what we want to see.
We're never going to stop you.
We're not going to change your names.
We're not going to get rid of your, you know,
blue diamond or orange triangle or flower or where it is, right?
You're allowed to do that.
That's totally fine.
As long as it stays friendly and as long as we don't see it evolving into any server issues.
I personally am part of the Purple Heart Gang.
So gang gang, but yeah, it's okay.
Don't worry.
Like, you can have whatever you want in your name.
But yeah, so it's really up to you.
It's a funny thing.
It's a fun, lighthearted thing.
As long as no one breaks the rules, I don't think it really is a big deal.
The only way to settle is to make all the gangs fight.
Oh, I don't have enough people in my gang, though.
Let's just fight it out.
I don't ever win.
Fisicke's, let's go.
Let's go.
So it was a fun solution.
But yeah, you know, do what you want.
Just don't let it get crazy, right?
we're all at the end of the day we're all in the same group no matter what right we're all in the
same group we're here to have fun and hang out and be nice and help each other out and that that
really should be it yeah yeah um okay i think that might be it um there's a lot of questions
that have nothing to do with like the server or improvements or feedback so as much as we would
like to answer those questions.
Maybe the answer here is let's save this for the next podcast when we do the community
questions.
We can start addressing some of these that aren't really about the server specifically,
but about NCXN and other things.
Actually, I do one last one.
We haven't gotten a mod in hashtag Netherlands.
I don't know why I said hashtag, but in the Netherlands channel, are you guys planning
on doing something about it?
So we are actually, so the regional teams who run those channels and who operate in those countries are kind of free to do what they want with those communities, essentially, because they are their communities, right?
They're a little separate.
We actually are working at the behest of, what's it, Cat, Cat Loves, who does want some help with moderation in the Netherlands channel.
So we are working on steps on getting that done.
but in the meantime, you know, just keep everybody honest.
You know, we're all in the same community.
If you feel like someone's acting the fool, let one of the moderators know,
and then we can take action on that.
I think that's really pretty much it for that.
We actually, we did pick someone to moderate the Netherlands channel, though.
We've already, like, gone through that.
So I just want to say Merv has already been chosen.
And she will be taking a.
larger role within the Netherlands
channel to moderate
in there and then maybe
you guys will see her as a full server
mod? I don't know.
Touching in a guise.
Yeah, we'll see
how that evolves
but definitely
going to be taking a big part
in the Netherlands channel. So
congratulations for that.
You actually were suggested by Kat herself
so clap, clap, clap, clap.
All right. Yeah. And
And if you do feel like your channel needs some help or something, let us know.
Let us know.
We'll help you out with that.
All right.
I think that's it.
I think we're done.
Are we done?
Can I go eat lunch now?
Not until mom gives you her advice.
Yes.
Actually, this segment is not going to be like the community roundup or really advice.
but more so an announcement.
So first of all, I want to start with the design contest.
We already talked about everything with that earlier,
but just to let you guys know,
Money and Nibler have both won the design contest.
We decided to split that fairly amongst the two of them.
You will see both of their designs being used and made into stickers.
So congratulations to them.
And then, I don't know, we can't do drum roll, huh?
Like, we don't have like a drum roll.
Go.
Thanks for that.
You sounded like a lawnmower or something.
Anyways.
Announcing the Poochie Cup.
Oh my God.
Chearing, screaming, everyone.
Wait, what the heck is the Poochie Cup?
Yay, the Poochie Cup.
That's the new seasonal event that will be happening on the server starting April 1st.
It is called the Pucci Cup.
So think about it like, I don't know if you guys have watched Harry Potter.
I'm sure a lot of you have.
But think about it as like the houses.
in Harry Potter going for the Hogwarts Cup.
That's essentially what we're going to be doing for the server,
but we're going to be creating our own teams.
So essentially, we're going to have four different teams
that are going to be competing outside of the normal club roles.
You guys will randomly sort yourself into a team.
And then from there, we're going to have you guys basically compete against each other
to earn Pucci Cup coins.
Ivan, I keep hearing your lip smack, so I'm assuming I have something to say here.
I'll say, yeah, and those teams are going to be red triangles, blue diamonds.
No, no, no, no, no, shush, shush.
Get out, get out, get out.
So the teams are going to be Earth, wind, air, and fire.
Oh, wait, sorry, Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire.
I always mess that up.
I don't know why.
So it's going to be elements.
So we're going to have team emblems made, and they are going to be Pucci with little elements attached.
If you guys are fans of Avatar, the last.
Airbrender, I imagine this is your dream come true.
That's the best anime ever.
Oh my God. It is.
So fighting the chat.
So yeah, then, so we're going to be splitting you guys into teams.
You're going to be randomly sorted. And then you're going to be earning cup coins.
And how you're going to do that is basically participating in contests,
contests and activities that we're going to have on the server.
So the design contest, setup contest, wallpaper contest,
for just participating and submitting something, you will get coins.
For winning, you'll get even more coins.
And then we're also going to be doing other activities that we're going to later announce involving that.
Earlier, I spoke about having a monthly community spotlight where a community member is going to be showcased.
That person will, whoever wins that will also be getting cup coins and things like that.
For them and for the team.
My favorite part about the cup coins, you left out, Amanda.
I probably haven't gotten to it, but go ahead.
I was going to say you can also lose cup coins for your team.
Oh, I was all, yes, I was just about saying that.
Remember what we said about the last podcast about interrupting me when I'm in the middle of the roundup portion?
Thank you.
So my next thing I was going to say literally was if you have good behavior in the server,
if people are noticing that you're being helpful, that you're helping other people,
you're directing them to the rules and other things, micro mods, this is your
time to shine. You will get good behavior coins that will go towards your team's overall total,
right? Bad behavior. Warns, mute, bans, points deducted from your team. Right off the bat.
It's going to actually happen automatically when we enter a command to do it. It's going to
remove coins. Now, there will be no abuse of this. I will tell you this right now. We are going to
follow the exact same system we always follow. I will be monitoring this.
to make sure that it is all done fairly, as fairly as it can be.
With your help, of course.
With your help.
And it will have, so every action like that will have cup coins deducted.
Now, just to say, if your team goes an entire month without getting warned, muted, or banned,
you will get a game-breaking amount of coins.
So your goal here is to push your team to be able to behave in the server, do what you're supposed to be doing,
and help others, and if you can do that, you will likely win.
Every single person within each team,
if your team wins, every person in that team will win something.
And then we will also be awarding the top coin earners from each team,
so four people, they will also earn prices for gaining the most coins.
Even if your team loses, you can win something.
So that's also something to make it more fair.
We're going to be, yeah, so we're going to go through like a random,
randomized sorting process that's going to start as soon as probably today once we throw in the
announcement on the discord there's going to be a join team channel where you will be able to go
to sort yourself it is only open to club members so newbies will not be able to participate
so this is only for friends and up this is a reward just for you guys and also there is going to be
a coin feed channel so you will be able to see everything that is deducted or given to any team or any
person. Every single message is going to have a complete clarity on, you know, why coins were given
or taken away. So there's not going to be any leaders of these teams. It's just going to be everyone
is on equal footing. Everyone needs to work together. And we have some really great prizes. So the
event is going to last for two months. We're going to have one month to reset and then another two months.
And, you know, the first iteration is going to have its problems.
I'm sure we're going to find issues with the bot.
I'm sure people are going to have more suggestions, maybe some complaints about it.
Each iteration, hopefully, is going to get better and better, better prizes, better, like,
contests and giveaways and things like that.
So hopefully, you know, by the end of this year or next year or whatever in the future,
we've really, like, you know, fine-tuned this event.
But for now, there's going to, you know, just bear with us.
There's going to be some kinks.
But hopefully we can do something that you guys are really happy with.
And, you know, hopefully this is motivation to keep working towards getting your XP
and participating in stuff in the server and actually, you know, engaging with the rest of the server and us and the contests and things that we do.
So stay tuned for prising information as being asked in chat.
Stay tuned for information on the type of things that you.
you can do to earn coins. We're going to we're going to be listing out everything in more detail
within the server post. There's going to be an info channel specifically just for the event,
which you guys can check out. And be sure to actually be here April 1st because that's when
we're going to be kicking it off. No, it's not an April Fool's joke. Don't worry about that.
We're not going to rip it away from you. But yeah, so make sure you guys are here. And I'm extremely
excited. I've been working really hard on this for literally as long as I've been a part of the
community team and in the server. And I'm just super excited to push this out and for you guys to be
happy about it. So I hope you're excited. I'm super excited. And my advice for you at the end of
this segment is to participate in this event because it's really awesome. Thank you. Dennis.
No, yeah. We're really excited for this event. So like when people kept asking about level 30,
level 60 rewards.
We're like, why just stop at a reward?
Let's do something even cooler.
Let's make a whole server wide event.
Let's reward as many people as he possibly can, no matter what level they're at.
Because that's one of the problems, right, is that once you get to a certain level, it's
hard to kind of keep getting rewards because it does take a long time, right?
You really get to show dedication.
So you want to do something that people can, the people could participate in regardless
of their status in the server, right?
So that everyone is on equal footing and we all can have fun together and nobody's better
than anybody else, right? We actually want everyone to push each other to be better, right?
So, yeah, you know, let us know what you think. We'll be announcing it, like Amanda said,
a little bit later today. Keep your eyes out. And, you know, just let us know, right? Like,
just keep talking to us. Let us know what you think, what you like, what you don't like,
about this, about anything, you know, this whole purpose of this particular podcast was to let you
guys know what we're working on, how we feel about things, kind of set their record straight,
right? Answer your questions and hopefully you feel like we're being more honest and transparent
than we have in the past. We feel like this was the best way to do it during a podcast so that
you can listen at your leisure and pick apart our arguments and bug us later in DMs.
Yep. And stay tuned for the written announcement. Like I said, I'll be making one very soon.
And the sorting, like I said, we'll start today, but you guys will have all the way until
April 1st to make sure that you're sorted into a team.
Unfortunately, due to making sure things can be balanced,
we can't allow anyone to just join whatever team they want because if someone,
you know, if you guys have a preference,
but it's a majority of you that have a preference and the other teams will be bare.
So it has to be randomized.
We might do a little balancing if the randomization does get heavy in one specific team.
We're going to try to be as fair as possible with it.
but yeah, make sure to keep an eye on the server all day today
because I don't have a specific time, it'll go up,
but it will be going up today.
So yeah.
Yep, pretty much it.
Ivan, any last words?
No, just be everyone, be safe and do your part to minimize the impact of this coronavirus thing.
We all have to be, you know, I think,
I think it's an opportunity for everyone to kind of just be nicer to each other and know that we have to help each other to get through this difficult time.
And, you know, it's an unfortunate scenario, but we can all do our part to just get through it.
Yeah. And, you know, like I miss my friends. I miss my work family. You know, I miss being able to see my sister when I want because she moved out recently, you know, worst time possible.
You know, so just remember that everyone here is dealing with their own stuff.
and we're all having our own separate hardships and things like that
and just be nice to each other because you don't know what someone's dealing with.
So with that, thank you to everybody who tuned in.
Remember to tune in next week at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time of the official N6T Discord server
and follow at N60 on all relevant social media.
And don't forget to listen to the previous podcast episodes and Ivan's typing on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
and if you be could be so kind, please leave us a positive review if you like what you're here and even if you don't.
Thank you very much and we'll see you next time.
Bye.
Bye.
