Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, everybody, Dennis again from NXT. As you know, recording a podcast from the comfort and safety, which you're very lucky to do from our own homes. It could be kind of a technically challenging task. And unfortunately, our regularly scheduled podcast with Irma from the engineering team was having some issues. So you're going to be treated to a very special 45 minutes of nothing but me talking to our community and answering questions.
Starting point is 00:00:27 our community is really great. Make sure you guys check them out at Discord.g.g slash NZXT to participate. We give out free prizes and rewards and stuff like that all the time just for simply hanging out and being a member and doing fun stuff. Don't forget, we do karaoke nights and game nights
Starting point is 00:00:44 and things like that. So if you're looking for a little bit of extra fun while you're staying safe, definitely check us out. Other than that, I want to thank everybody for listening and sticking with us. Really appreciate it. 41 episodes in and we're still going strong and won't stop in any time soon.
Starting point is 00:00:58 So if you guys have any suggestions or any questions about the podcast or anything you'd like to hear, feel free to send us an email at Marketing at nzixc.com, title it podcast questions, podcast suggestions, and we'll get them in there for you. Poppy Ivan's always looking out for those. All right, guys, and with that, thank you very much, and we'll bring you to your regularly scheduled iPhone Blinking Podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Bye. By the way, that's how you do in movies. they have the claps in there with the little clapper thingy so you can see on the waveform when they start the scene and start recording yeah the clapboard exactly up just like that i learned it while watching a youtube video i'm gonna close this window here so anyway guys yeah feel free to ask any questions you want i'm chilling in here for now talking to you think of it as like any regular podcast um hell we'll give out some poochy cup coins too for asking good questions and you know just ask me whatever you want about nxxx t about nxx t about
Starting point is 00:02:06 me about working at NZXT, you know, community stuff, feel free. Why are mean had silly so cute? I feel like that's more of a personal opinion than really like an actual fact, so I'm going to sidestep that question. All right. What up Epic Gamer? It's nothing much. Just hanging out here talking to you guys.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Speaking of Epic Games, I've been playing through Dead Space. And man, is that game spooky? I do not like it. But I'm trying to get through it. A lot of things pop out and scare you, and it makes me mad. But it is what it is. Spooky things be spooky. And, yeah, I like to not be spooked.
Starting point is 00:02:52 And, you know, that's what happens sometimes. Is there anything particular that you're excited to be working on right now? To be honest, I just like doing what I normally do, which is hanging out on social media, hanging out with the, with the community. community, creating content. Unfortunately right now, because we're all stuck at home, the ability to make content is a little bit limited. So for example, I want to do more videos and things like that, but I don't have any equipment
Starting point is 00:03:23 here. I don't have people to help me record stuff, you know, editing is going to be all done here at home. And I really don't want to turn the social media channels to be centered around myself, which is why you don't see me on there too much, or almost at all. because I feel like you should be centered more about NZT and the community and other cool stuff that we're doing. What do you do in quarantine? Well, I get up, I grab coffee, you know, do my normal morning routine, sit down on my computer,
Starting point is 00:03:54 I'll log into Animal Crossing for a minute, check my turn-up prices, see what the rest of the staff has, and turn-up turn-up prices, so they can make fat stacks. Like yesterday, one of our coworkers, he had a turn-up price of, I believe, 450 prices per turn up, uh, uh, bells per turn up.
Starting point is 00:04:13 So I made up, made about 1.2 million yesterday in Animal Crossing. So I'm kind of set for a little bit, but honestly not really because things in Animal Crossing get really expensive. I think like my next expansion is like 700,000. So it's a lot. Yeah, then other than that, you know, I just work, work all day, you know, take a lunch at 12. I maybe be watching a movie at the same time. Nothing too crazy, you know. and then when I'm done, I hang out with friends on Discord
Starting point is 00:04:39 and sometimes I'll stream and play games. So yeah. How does it feel to see the podcast follow script? It annoys the heck out of me because it means I got to do something else to put some content on there because part of my job is to produce content, whether it's on a podcast or for a tweet or something like that. So, you know, it is what it is. We stay professional out here.
Starting point is 00:05:01 We do our best and we go out here. React to this video, sorry, can't react to the video because people who are listening to the podcast will not be able to listen slash watch the video. Yeah. That's one of the things, right, is that you have to balance what is good for a live audience and what is good for a pre-recorded audience. What's the most annoying part about Discord bots besides corrupting audio files? The most annoying part about Discord bots besides corrupting audio files is they will break.
Starting point is 00:05:39 So example, the, like, Dino goes down like every other day, music goes down every other day. That always really sucks. It's never fun. We can't do our work because of that. You know, we got to make sure that, there's some pre-cup coins for you.
Starting point is 00:05:57 We got to make sure that, you know, know, for example, we use Dino to do our moderation stuff, right? So we can add infractions and warnings and length of time for me, things like that. So when that goes down, it kind of sucks. Okay. It's got a ping on the mod chat. The secret match. I can see, why are people that listen to the podcast live so much cooling people to listen to it afterwards?
Starting point is 00:06:24 Because they have a lot of free time. Like for myself, I never listen to podcasts when they're like 100% out. I always listen to them. like when I'm in the car or like I'm in the shower and like I'm about to go to bed or I'm going out for a walk. So yeah, why do you think the server is losing members?
Starting point is 00:06:42 Just in general or anything in particular? Because the server is like a living, breathing thing, right? People join and leave, they join and leave. It just depends on whatever we're doing in that particular week or month. It's why we have things like Game Nights and Pucci Cup and things like that to kind of bring people into the discord. They have fun.
Starting point is 00:07:00 You know, they don't leave, but we can't ultimately control when people leave. if you have people breaking rules, then obviously they'll get eaten out at the server. That's kind of part of having a community, right? Is that when you manage a community, when you're working with the community, you have to make sure that people can be safe
Starting point is 00:07:16 as often as possible. And certain members allow that not to happen by breaking rules or being rude or causing issues. And, you know, we try to help as much as we can and we try to inform them and, you know, lead them to be better community. members and to focus what really matters which is having fun and if they fortunately can't do that then you know they will be removed and it always
Starting point is 00:07:39 sucks to get rid of a community member but you know it is what it is the rules are very simple to be honest just don't be rude pretty much as like 90% of the rules is don't be mean don't be rude have fun if you can take care of that then you're good to go um next question let me pin let me pin some of these I keep forgetting the pin stuff do you think I I'm a baby. Yes, you are a baby. You need too much attention. Babies are not self-sufficient.
Starting point is 00:08:12 They require constant care and attention, and I'm too lazy for that. That's why I wouldn't be a good dad. I also watch way too much anime to have a baby. Can't be watching a baby for reading anime, right? On your screen. Is having a good dad? Ivan seems like an amazing dad. to be honest. I wish I was my dad.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Didn't realize there was even a podcast. Yeah, we do a podcast every single week. What's my favorite anime? Fully Cooley. Straight up. FLCL is one of my favorite animas of all time, if not my favorite anime of all time. It has everything you want,
Starting point is 00:08:53 it has action, has a little bit of spiciness. It's deep in the sense that it tackles a lot of interesting topics, which is what makes that show really, really good. I highly recommend it. Have I seen Stein's Gate? No, I have not.
Starting point is 00:09:06 I don't watch a lot of anime nowadays. What's the podcast about? The podcast is about anything we want it to be. It can be about music. It can be about anime. It can be about computer parts. It can be about NXT. Why was Johnny never on the podcast?
Starting point is 00:09:23 He's not, he, Johnny wasn't, wasn't never on the podcast because he is going to be on in the future, obviously. It's like asking why isn't any other person in the company not on the podcast? because we only do one in a week, so we got to pick our guests. Plus, Johnny's really busy right now. I can't imagine what it's like managing the company right now with half the people not even in the office and all the crazy stuff is going on.
Starting point is 00:09:48 What's your opinion on AMD releasing the B550 platform today? I don't know anything about that stuff. I only really look up computer part hardware things when either I watch a video or I'm looking to build something. And that's just because I don't have, I don't have a whole lot of time to look at that kind of stuff, you know? It's almost like the one-year anniversary of the podcast. What do you plan on doing then?
Starting point is 00:10:14 I think the one year would probably be in August or July, because that's when we started it. I didn't start that right away. That was like one of the first big things that I brought in. Ooh, scrub is here. Nice. You should totally pin things for me so I don't miss stuff. Do I like e-hugs? No, I like real hugs.
Starting point is 00:10:33 I like real hugs the most. Because then you can, you can, you can. their hair. Okay. She's being recorded. Of course is being recorded. We need content for the podcast. Like 14 episodes.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Cool. Keep reminding, remind me when the one year is. And maybe we'll do something special. What do I think of Beef Wellington? I think Beef Wellington is an amazing dish when prepared properly. You have to make sure that you mince slash chop your walnut slash, what do you call it, mushroom filling well. If you don't, then you're going to run into some issues.
Starting point is 00:11:16 You're going to make sure that you get rid of all the water. You don't add more. It's very important when you're making Bee Follington. Your puff pastry has to be very, very on point. What's your favorite movie? My favorite movie. Ooh, I don't know if I have a favorite movie. I've seen so many.
Starting point is 00:11:35 I like a lot of movies for a lot of reasons. Like, I was talking about on the podcast before the episode got deleted that, I've been watching the Rocky movies, and they're super good. You're a filmmaker? That's awesome, dude. Yeah, I saw Rocky 1 through 5 in like a week, and Rocky 5 is super bad. Like, it's still a good movie, but it's like so, it's like, it's a movie that's definitely a product of the 80s. So it has like a lot of really weird, like, synth scoring and like way too many montages.
Starting point is 00:12:09 So it's like So he'll be like Training up and then you'll hear like Gotta fight for your life On the path to glory It's like these really cheesy 80s songs but it's hilarious Because that's like what all 80s movies were like right
Starting point is 00:12:25 Let's see here what else he got Other questions we got What's my favorite part of content creation My favorite part of content creation my favorite part of Conscient Creation is the idea
Starting point is 00:12:43 and when you finally get it out working on it sucks because it's hard and you got to work on a lot of stuff but when you're finally done and you get to see what people think of it it's the greatest thing ever
Starting point is 00:12:55 because you know if you did good or you did bad and then you can learn from that yeah but to go back to the favorite movie question I don't know if you really have a favorite movie per se but I would say it might be like
Starting point is 00:13:07 Saving Private Ryan. That's movie's just a classic. I can't, I can watch saving Private Ryan a million times and I'll never get tired of it. Should I go to bed? Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:15 What's the weirdest thing that happened while quarantine slash last month? Honestly, nothing really too crazy has been happening. It's just been normal, you know? Normal. I bet as normal as normal can be.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I'm going to meet myself for a second. A little frog in my throat. Yeah, you know, I mean, I'm just at home. How do you stay motivated to do your work during quarantine? I take a lot of breaks. I go for a lot of walks. I walk for about 30 minutes in the afternoon and about an hour or so, is,
Starting point is 00:13:52 at night, which is pretty good. So, you know, that helps me kind of stay motivated because they get, like, that physical, you know,
Starting point is 00:13:58 movement, get your blood pumping, you know, and the community, you know, the community motivates me and those likes and those retweets, you know, got to be good.
Starting point is 00:14:08 What PC do I have? have an H510 Elite with a 2070 Super, 32 gigs of ballistic RAM, a 9700K with an X62 strapped on it, and four air-r-rgbhbhs all around it, and a 2 terabyte storage drive and a 500 gigabyte boot drive, which is my SSD. Let's see here. What's your favorite pet? I like dogs the best. Dogs are cool, but cats are easy to take care of because they don't do much. and I don't have any pets anymore. We just have two dogs, but they have since passed. What's your opinion on bass guitars?
Starting point is 00:14:48 Real guitars are better, basses, whatever. You can rip harder on a regular guitar than you can on a bass guitar. Don't quote me on that. Do you have any recommendations for music I should add to my playlist? That depends on what kind of music you like. If you like more indie stuff, I like a band named Tennis. They're very good. I also like a band named Best Coast.
Starting point is 00:15:12 They're from L.A. And they're super, super good. Or I think Orange County. One of those two. They're super good. I feel like rock or like metal. I like Ghost. Ghost is one of my favorite metal bands right now because they're super cheesy and they're fun.
Starting point is 00:15:25 And they know it's all a joke, but they can still play really well. But like hip hop and rap. I mean, if you don't already have like the classics, like Tupac and Biggie, throw those on there. But I don't know your guys. I personally like Big Crit. One because I really like Southern Rappers. I like how he has really good guys. gospel instrumentals and like gospel samples that he throws in his music.
Starting point is 00:15:46 And he's almost kind of like a mini Kanye, but not as good because you can't be Kanye, right? And then for anything else, I don't care. You know, just listen to whatever. Let's see. Will someone ever topple Team Water for top position? Yeah, they could. They definitely could. Can I sing a lullaby?
Starting point is 00:16:04 No. Is the starter PC good? The starter PC is very good if that's a performance that you're looking for. ban pro answer from a professionaler you can't beat me on that what was my first build oh uh my first build my first build was i don't even remember to be honest i think it was computer upgraded so i can play aliens versus predator 2000 and we upgraded that with a with a weird card i don't remember what was This is like back in the day when video card boxes had really weird 3D designs on them. I don't know if you guys want to pull up a photo, but like look up like an old radion box art and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Video cards had like the weirdest art on them. It was like this like really attractive like 3D model girl with like a bunch of guns and swords on her back. It was super cheesy. And you couldn't really tell which video cards were better or worse because they all had like really dumb art on them. Okay, what else you got here? You like jazz? I like jazz, but I don't seek out jazz or seek out particular artists, if that makes sense, right? So if it's on, I'll listen to it.
Starting point is 00:17:23 There you go, yeah, just like, just like a go cut out posted it. Right on HD 3870. Actually, I had this card. The HD 3870. This is when the dankest port you could use on a computer was a DVI cable, right? Because HTML wasn't really solidified. and the S video cable never worked. I can never forget how to get that S video cable
Starting point is 00:17:43 to actually plug into the back of a monitor or a TV and get it to work. Do the questions ever back up? Yes. How many PCs have you built in your life so far and what was the most epic build you have done? That's a good question because epic, it depends on the time, right? I think over my life builds for myself,
Starting point is 00:18:03 I've built maybe like four or five computers. I'm 30 now, right? So I've had a good number. of good number of years, gaming years into my belt. So because of that, I always built with the intention of buying something really, really good now. So I don't need to upgrade it as often in the future. Like here's the point my computer right now is pretty beast and I can stream at 1080p, full settings, 720 output to the stream. And it's perfectly cool.
Starting point is 00:18:33 So I usually build for longevity. I don't build for I don't build for now I build for what I want to have later on so that I'm good to go because I don't like having I don't like having to turn my settings down to me it hurts
Starting point is 00:18:49 when like I'm not getting that 144 and I got to turn down my anti-aliasing up by a couple of steps even though it doesn't really ultimately matter I gotta do it man got to have those high frames How is N60 able to sell their builds for such a good deal because we don't price gouge pretty much
Starting point is 00:19:07 it's like we make deals with vendors to get things at a lower price so we can bundle them in pretty much do you like Fortnite I think Fortnite's cool I'm just not good at it you know because
Starting point is 00:19:21 I'm not good at building and then I want to take the time and learn how to build people who build really sweaty in that game make it not fun for me like if building had like a limit where you can't build super fast I'd be a god at the game.
Starting point is 00:19:35 But the game doesn't really, it's like, I come from a background where like if you shot good, you won the game, right? And Fortnite adds like a different layer of complexity that I can't wrap my brain around and I don't want to learn. That like, even if I have like a really good shot,
Starting point is 00:19:53 I'm not going to win the fight because I have to also beat them in the build fight. I'm sure it could if I wanted to. What's your opinion on Oasis? The band? They right. What's my name bro? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:05 What's your name, bro? What's your opinion on DDR5? Hope it's faster than DDR4. Which parts PC brand do you like the most besides NZT? I like ASIS and MSI, I think. I've never had a problem with an MSI part before. Never had a problem with ASIS. I really love ASIS monitors.
Starting point is 00:20:24 I think they're super great. I know there are better ones. I just haven't really, you know, had a much time in it. Like my GTX, my MSI GTX 980 lasted me for like a million years, you know? So can't go wrong with that. I currently have a, I think it's an EVGA card and my computer announced to the 27th Super. Performs great, no problem with it. It's a big boy though.
Starting point is 00:20:47 It's a, that's a thick old card. It's a thick card. Why is scrub not pinning Hansi's next question? Because, do you think, what do you think of the new Intel 10th, gen compared to AMD. I don't know. We'll have to wait for benchmarks, right? So we always tell people, but they say, oh, how does your case perform? I always tell them, don't take it from us. Go look at reviewers, though I have the best answers for you. Would you consider cheating to hook up headphones, a controller to your phone for Fortnite mobile,
Starting point is 00:21:19 and they connected to an ultra-wide? I wouldn't say it's cheating, but it's definitely not the way it's intended and you are definitely not on a level playing field as other people yeah uh what's your favorite drink boba i like i like a really good not boba's in the drink boba's what you put in a drink but i like a tie tea boba if you're on an island with where you could take even one of these two items which would you take every anime or a rock every anime obviously Why is my computer taking so long to come? Because we're backlogged right now, because of COVID. That's pretty much the answer right there.
Starting point is 00:22:03 It's my favorite meal. Okay, I got two favorite meals here. All right. Number one, I always heck with the good spaghetti. Heck with it heavily, right? I'm down for the spaghetti. Give me the spaghetti. I want it.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Lots of paramed on it. Sauce's got to be meat sauce. If it's not a meat sauce, I don't want it. or a really good, a really, really good alpaso, one of those two. Do you like soft drinks? Is a very important question. Yes, I do like soft drinks. I am a real big fan of Dr. Pepper.
Starting point is 00:22:39 I like cherry vanilla, Dr. Pepper. It slaps. What I do for a living, I make memes for a living. How's the weather down there? It's actually pretty warm right now. in southern california in anaheim it is 88 degrees Fahrenheit and that's not the hottest it's been this this week
Starting point is 00:22:59 it's been like 90 degrees i think it's hot how much is 88 f i don't know i don't know how to convert that into non-american um what's my favorite brand of refrigerator a Samsung baby need that smart fridge let's go play fortnight on my fridge while i make some ice spaghetti or ziti spaghetti Spaghetti is definitely way better. All right.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Typical taps. Thanks. It already been 22 minutes, huh? Crazy. Whoa, bro. I said one excited, yeah message. How much caps is two caps? Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Why is the new H1 case so expensive? Well, it's actually not expensive when you take into consideration that the H1 case comes with a power supply unit, a all-on-one cooler, that outperforms the stock cooler by a large margin, by the way. Just throw that one out there. I think Dowdust Tech did a really good video. comparing the AMD, Rath, prism, and scyth coolers compared to the all-on-one, and it slaps it. And then it also comes with a PCIE 3.0 riser card.
Starting point is 00:24:07 So if you think about how much a cooler is, a 144 millimeter cooler is, what, $80, $100? It's something like that, right? A PSU for a small 4-factor PC is about, if you get one that doesn't suck, 100 plus dollars. GPU riser cards are about $30,40. for a decent one. Probably like 70 or 80 if you go for Gen 4 now. Aren't Gen 4 cars are crazy expensive or Gen 4 risers? So it's actually a really good deal.
Starting point is 00:24:34 I think, I mean, if you, again, don't take it for me. Look at reviews. I think Bitwit might have done one. A couple of other guys might have done one. Yeah. Yeah, and that's a good point too. The Dragon Tamer puts out there in the chat is that the H1 also has all the cables prorouted.
Starting point is 00:24:50 So literally all you got to do is you open the sucker up, You throw in your motherboard, your CPU, your RAM, and then you put your hard drives in if you want to or your M.2s, and then you're good to go. Easy peasy. It's a great case. Do it like Valerant? I'm currently not playing Valerite because I have to use Cam because I have a bunch of N66C products, and currently Valerent is blocking a lot of hardware monitoring software, so I'm waiting until they fix that before I actually update. And it's funny because, like, I want to play. but I can't.
Starting point is 00:25:25 Can you use N60 cam on a Samsung smart fridge? You can. It'll actually let you change your ice curves. What PSU? I don't know what PSU. I think it's a C-Sonic. If you could choose any product to make, which one would you make?
Starting point is 00:25:41 Ooh. I really want... So that's a hard question because I don't know what I would want NXT to make. That would be really good. Like, I don't... People ask for GPUs and RAM all the time, and I don't really care about that because there's so many manufacturers who make a lot of really good RAM, and a lot of it's very samey, right? Hard drives are very samey.
Starting point is 00:26:03 You can't really improve much other than making it faster. But user experience-wise, like, how do you interact with the hard drive, right? Almost never. So what's the point? Honestly, something that we would refresh, I want new RGB stuff. I want them to refresh the strips. I don't know what they would do, but I think it would be cool for, like, a different idea. Let the designers do that stuff, right?
Starting point is 00:26:25 But something that we don't make, that's maybe keyboard. I think keyboard would be really cool. I want to see an NZC keyboard come out. I don't know what it would look like, how it would be different. I hope that if we do over make one, it would definitely take a lot of pages out of the keyboard builders' page. I don't know how that's going to work. But when you think about the H1, right, the H1 basically brings a. a mini, right, a mini ITX form factor to the masses,
Starting point is 00:26:56 making it super, super simple. So I want to know if we could do that too, if we can bring, like, the same experience to the masses of, like, building a nice keyboard with really good key caps and everything's all lubed up and whatever, right? Imagine instead of NXT build, it would be NXT Kib, and we just build it for you and send it out to you. That'd be kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:27:18 That's a million-dollar idea. Beard B, I'm going to go email Johnny. That'd be really cool, actually. I should actually write this stuff down. What's your CPU and GPU attempts in your PC? That's a funny question. Currently, with not a whole lot of load, my CPU is at 40 degrees Celsius,
Starting point is 00:27:37 and my GPU is at 45 degrees Celsius. It also is a little warm here in SoCal, so I just, you know, do it. We put an NCC sticker with my Pucci, if it gets up to me, please. Unfortunately, we don't include stickers because it all comes from a different location. will can be fixed soon tm would you buy an nzzyz smart fridge heck yeah i don't have a lot of holes in it
Starting point is 00:27:59 iOS or android always i i am an iOS stand yes it is kind of um yes it is kind of uh what we call it it kind of restrictive but it works super well never had a problem with it i never had to worry about my bootloader getting stuck or waiting for upgrades from my carrier or from my manufacturer I get stuff when they come out. Easy peasy. Windows Linux or MacOS? I mean, well, right now, Windows because you can play all big games on it. Linux because it's really, really low resource intensive.
Starting point is 00:28:36 It's not very intensive, but you've got to do a lot of DIY stuff for it. What's the best thing you've ever done in your life? Best thing I've ever done in my life was when I got to do social media for Capcom Cup 2016, watching some of the greatest fighting game players in the world beat each other's faces in a video game. That was cool. Oh, and once I met, I met Arabian Prince from NWA.
Starting point is 00:29:06 That was cool, too. How do you get the little country tags? Go down to the regional channels. Do you have any apps you wish you would have released on iOS that are on Android? Not really. I never got my N60 postcard and I'm sad. Will it ever be included in my other rewards?
Starting point is 00:29:25 Don't know. Ask Poppy. We do backflip. Okay, here we go. Backflip time. All right. Pretty cool, huh? Have you ever taken a flight lesson?
Starting point is 00:29:35 If not, you should. I could, but I don't know, man. I'd be kind of scared to fly. I'm not that great at doing backflips and stuff. I can't even do a cartwheel. is nxie's mascot poochies name a reference to something nope it came from the puck we made a plush out of the puck people started calling it pucky and then we started using the gucci emo the gucci main emo in the server when he's called pucci instead because he's fancy like that are you building are you planning on building a custom keyboard oh god this is a hard it's a hard question i want to but i don't want to because i know it's not easy right It takes time and effort and you got to solder.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Like if you're going to go like if I'm going to build a keyboard, I'm going to go for the full key building experience, right? Where I grab the board and I'm soldering stuff and I'm testing things out, right? Like like if I'm going to go in, I want to go all in like really, really build a keyboard. I know there are other ways to do it. Yeah, I agree. I'm going full send if I do it. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Right. But I mean, at the same time, like, I'm also kind of a lazy. I don't say lazy. I don't want to do more work than I have to. So hence why I have my iPhone, because it's really easy to use and I never have a problem, especially because I use my phone for work.
Starting point is 00:31:01 I would never have a Android because I know there's going to be some problem with some manufacturer and I actually don't like the Google Pixel Nexus phones. I just don't think they look good. But yeah, I kind of do one on a new keyboard. I've had this Corsair keyboard for the longest time. It's the one that has. has that new logo that they swapped off after a month because everybody hated it. Like as soon as I can get this RGB K70, I picked it up, I waited like weeks for it to come in stock and I grabbed it.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Yeah. Let's see here. What's next question? What's your favorite car brand? Oh, I don't really have a favorite car. Okay, so I like American muscle car aesthetic, but I don't like the performance or how much they stuck on gas. So if I'm going to go for For just get myself from A to B
Starting point is 00:31:50 I love me my Honda It's sick It's really really good Plus I got the windows tinted So you know we all there sitting in black How did you get so good at doing backflips Practice How many PCs have you built
Starting point is 00:32:05 I think we were to ask I think we were answered just like five times Like like five PCs Not five times but like five computers overall Actually I guess I would say six Because I built my computer for work Question about green PCB mobos. What about opinion on them?
Starting point is 00:32:20 That's a classic look, dude. You can't knock it, you know? That old green board aesthetic is slick. Where have you guys sticker bombed in the office? Ivan's computer and the podcast studio. Do you have any apps now? What do you do for NSXT? I do memes.
Starting point is 00:32:40 What's your favorite feature on Discord? the mute and report function. Do you like Porsche? Nah. They look nice, but they're too expensive to keep up. Did you check, then check, and then double check, and triple check, then double check, to make sure the podcast was working? We did actually, we ran multiple checks.
Starting point is 00:33:06 That's the fucky part about it. You can't always control it, you know? Sometimes it just happens. Can you carry you in Valerant when I moved to SoCal next year? No, thanks. Why are you so epic? I don't know. You asked me.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Ask my mom. She raised me. She's the one who made me the person I am today. What's your favorite game to play in your Samsung Smart Fridge? Minecraft. Favorite video game? Ooh, you guys ready for a deep cut? You ready for a deep cut?
Starting point is 00:33:35 Here we go. Old Man Storytime. There used to be a game. It was a Half-Life One mod, right? It was called Natural Selection. It is an asymmetric game. you have Marines versus aliens
Starting point is 00:33:51 and you both start on opposite sides of the map right and the aliens is job is to put up hives
Starting point is 00:33:59 and the Marines job is to destroy those hives and there are resource points on the map that you can put structures onto
Starting point is 00:34:06 so it's like an FPS RTS hybrid every team sorry not every team but the in natural selection one
Starting point is 00:34:14 the Marines had a commander who had like a top down view like in StarCraft or something right and they'll put
Starting point is 00:34:18 down towers to suck up resources from certain parts of the map and then aliens had a had a had a could evolve to different forms like building forms and like flying forms and like attack forms it's really dope game was super super great how I finished the new doom story wait there's new new doom stuff since when how to keep up with all these questions reading very quickly that's how I've been trained to do be fast well microphone I'm using I'm using a blue jetty blue yitty nano how does it feel to have such an epic mom feels great she's amazing Skyrim? Nah.
Starting point is 00:34:51 When do people... When people blend to build their first PC, should they spend a lot of money or not a lot? That is up to you. It depends on you. Because if it's like, for example, for myself, I play a lot of games. I want to play as many games
Starting point is 00:35:07 and experience as many games as it possibly can, right? So I want to have hardware that can support, whatever stuff. If you literally just want to play like Minecraft all day, and that's the game you want to play, and that's the game you love, then just build a computer
Starting point is 00:35:18 that can handle Minecraft. craft and you're good to go right what's one one piece squared I don't know asked Discord do you like Evian water nah I'm more of a Desani boy do you like water in general how much do you drink daily so I actually just bought a new water bottle it is from a hydrocell the premium creator of water bottles hydrocell and I got a 40 ounce bottle and I drink about two of these a day minimum I believe super good um how much was her mic blue ytti nano is like one I think.
Starting point is 00:35:49 How many displays do you have and how big for each? I have two 24 inch 1080p.144 Hertz monitors. One of them is really, really old, like five years old. The other one is like a year old. It's an AOC. It's not that great. The balancing on it is kind of butt, so I can't really see. The contrast is great for games, but for like photo editing, it's really, really not good.
Starting point is 00:36:13 The contrast is not good on it. headphones do I use? I'm using the NZXT Air closed back purple headset. Any ultra wide? No ultra wide. I like regular 1080p. I'm simple like that. Do you like donuts? I love donuts. My favorite donuts are blueberry donuts.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Follow up question. I'm stupid and I like and feel like I'd mess up the CPU installation. How can I not mess up? very carefully. It's super easy. I would say the CPU is probably the easiest thing to install on your computer, maybe after the RAM, because you can still screw up the RAM, you can put it in the wrong way. AMD or Intel, Nvidia or AMD.
Starting point is 00:36:56 For processors, I'm still an Intel boy, because I think Intel still has better performance for single core gaming stuff. But for video cards, I don't think that AMD is where it needs to be yet. They're getting there. But I'm still a GTX, RtX. boy, Nvidia fanboy on that. I'm not even a fanboy.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Why is this started PC so expensive? It's not, if you look at the parts that it has in it and you compare them with like PC part picker, it's pretty comparable. You might be able to build it cheaper on your own if you want. You had to wait for sales, wait for shipping,
Starting point is 00:37:32 deal with different warranties and RMA processes for each of the manufacturers. It's up to you. You also don't get windows with it as well, so that price is also factored in. Yep. Pretty easy. Can you swim?
Starting point is 00:37:45 I can swim. It's not that great. How often do you dab in 2016? I did zero-dabbing in 2016. Most of my dabbing was from 2017 and 2018. Those are my prime dabbing years. We want dabbed them more. Intel has a better single thread for content creation.
Starting point is 00:37:58 AMD is better in terms of CPU and video so significantly further the head into the GPU. And it's not just that, but also like certain programs work with these manufacturers to make their programs, their applications better for their CPUs or their GPUs, right? like I know that Photoshop or Adobe and Intel work very, very closely, or in video, excuse me, in video work very closely. For Memorial Day, are there any good PC parts sales? I don't know. Send it for the newsletter on nzc.com and bottom of the page.
Starting point is 00:38:28 Does the startup PC come with Windows 10? It does. Can we get a shout out for scrub pinning and removing all the pins like a robot? Hell yeah. Scrub, thank you very much. Give them some love, guys. Send them, send them some nitro or something. What case do I have?
Starting point is 00:38:39 I have the H510 elite in white. we uh... damn that was quick I got through all those what happened to the unpainted age 700 I don't know I don't think we ever produced an unpainted 8700
Starting point is 00:38:54 if we did it might have been like a joke or something go my guys more questions only 37 minutes a regular podcast is an hour hour and a half who is the best person on CS so this is really cute girl in customer service her name is Dakota
Starting point is 00:39:10 she's really cool she helps me all the time she's a she's a homie that's a inside joke for those who know have i ever played sea of thieves i have played sea of thieves it's super fun it's really great with the with a partner with friends to play with um the only thing about the game is it is a lack of variety in the content because uh you end up doing the same thing you smack skeletons you get up chests you take him back the only the only thing that makes
Starting point is 00:39:41 sea of thieves like a interesting experience is um the other players who come in and try to rob you Why are the newer places only in black and white? Because those are our best-selling colors. And also, there aren't really a whole lot of other colors of computer parts. Most computer parts now come in black and white. RGB or no RGB? A little RGB. Do you like Subnotica?
Starting point is 00:40:08 Yes, but it's a spooky game. How many FPS do you gain from RGB? At least two. What's your favorite part about the NXC community? The community, everybody. they're all different and I can have fun. Have you watched? Have I watched my hands today?
Starting point is 00:40:23 I watch them all the time. I'm staring at them right now. Did you miss something? Why is there a second podcast? There's a second podcast, my friends, because there was an issue with the recording. Me Six, done it, it itself, and we needed to do another one.
Starting point is 00:40:38 So I figured when I gave out some more coins, scrup me help me out, be a homie, and, you know, I can hang out. But have I watched them? I do watch them a lot. It's funny, actually. I used to wash my hands a lot. regardless, because I don't like having sticky, dirty, or smelly hands.
Starting point is 00:40:54 What's your opinion on horror games? I like playing them, but I suck at them because they get spooked. I'll play them, but I'll play it, and I'll scream a lot. Favorite anime, I would answer this, F-L-C-L or Samurai Champleu. I was any question, Saske. What's your favorite hand soap? You know, I'm a big fan of Dial. Dial some good stuff, you know?
Starting point is 00:41:14 Dial has really good single bacterial performance compared to the competitors, and I feel like, you know, even though the other brands of soap are like getting good, they're not really where they need to be so I can get the best performance I can out of my hand-washing experience. So yeah. How many questions have you answered in your podcast life? Probably a million because I used to do podcasts back of the day. How many times that someone asked a favorite anime, too?
Starting point is 00:41:38 How does it feel to not see Andy Sit Weirdly's office chair every day anymore? It sucks because I miss all my coworkers. I miss seeing everybody in the office. Like I would literally walk down and just go bug customer service instead of asking them on Slack because I could do that. And it was just like, I would get quicker answers. Plus I can ask them dumb follow-up questions because I don't know, I know nothing about hardware.
Starting point is 00:42:00 And now I can't even do that. So that kind of sucks, you know. Now we're just all on Slack talking. What's my least favorite anime? There you go. There's a nice photo of me sitting how Andy sits. My least favorite anime. Oh, my least favorite anime.
Starting point is 00:42:18 I don't know. One Piece? Because One Piece fans don't shut up about One Piece. And I'm not going to start watching a show with like a million episodes. Sorry, I can't do that. Do you support Linus Tech Tips? His Fire Trick video is inspirational. I think he's a great content creator and he's a really cool dude.
Starting point is 00:42:36 And dude, Linus with a beard. Who! Can we talk about that for a minute? Linus with a beard. Woo! Do you know Dom's in real life? Yes, I do. How often do you check social media daily?
Starting point is 00:42:48 every single day every minute i don't stop ask anybody what's your favorite part about troubleshooting computers my least fair part when i can't find a fix but the fair part is trying to find that fix googling and looking stuff up do you like forza horizon four never played it what's your opinion on the frozen movies they're quite good what's your least favorite game uh fortnight because i want to like it but it's not for me what does linus look so good with the beard why does anybody look good with the beard man have you watched dragon me or Darling and a Franks? Never watched Dragon Named because I don't like Moe's shows.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Darling in the Franks was good until they ruined it and it became like the worst show I've ever seen. Would you pay for LTT versus Gamer Nexus fight? Don't care. Who runs the NXC Twitter? They do a good job? I don't know. Ask them. Why do I not look good with the beard?
Starting point is 00:43:35 Because you're a tiny boy. You'd be a big thick boy to the head look good with the beard. I feel like if you're skinny and you have a beard, you can swing one way or the other. Either being like really good looking with the beard or just doesn't make sense. or just doesn't make sense what happened to irma she had to go back to work opinion about cheese cheese is sick how's my hair way too long do you simp for cuddle actually not really we stay not simple for cuddle do you like the nartu storm series never played him how much chunk is considered adequate chunk that's a personal opinion my friend that's all you favorite cheese right now
Starting point is 00:44:10 I'm really in the pepper jack and I like a good brie with crackers it's pretty good all right we're 43 minute mark about to hit 42 minutes i think it's pretty good for a podcast they're just fast answering questions people get to know me a little more i haven't really had a chance to do that for too long mostly you know because like i mostly try to focus the podcast on the other people who are on there because like you know for example uh i really loved having irma on there um because why am i eating in the middle of this is first i have it because when she's super friendly right and she knows a lot about engineering and man dude if she could tell you the things that she was telling me before the podcast, you guys would flip out.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Unfortunately, she knows so much about our company and like the stuff that we're working on, stuff that we're not working on, that unfortunately, I'm going to have to like kind of rate it in a little bit, you know, because she works in engineering. So her entire job is solving problems where my job is not leaking stuff. Yeah, it'd be like that. Do you like spicy food? Love it. What's my first job? Working at C's candies, packing chocolates into a box.
Starting point is 00:45:25 What's your favorite mouse? My favorite mouse was the left-handed death adder, but now it's too expensive. So now I have it since, say, 310 because I'm left-handed. Would you have this radiator in your house? Totally. Favorite car? My Honda. How often do you fold at home?
Starting point is 00:45:39 I forgot to, I stopped folding at home as I forgot. And I made my computer warm. If you play Minecraft, will you teach Poppy? He'll never play Minecraft. Have you ever leaked stuff? I haven't actually. I'm actually pretty good about the leaking stuff. I got fired from a job for quote-unquote leaking stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:56 That's not really how it worked out, but that's the reason they gave me, which didn't actually happen. But, you know, I can't argue with the CEO of a company. If he wants to be gone, he wants to be gone. Have you ever had to teach someone how to play Minecraft? No, people teach me how to play Minecraft because I played Minecraft when it first launched,
Starting point is 00:46:11 didn't play after like the first year, and then now I had to learn everything. Like, did you know if you don't sleep for like three days, this monster flies down and tries to eat you at night? Whenever I saw that, I was like, yo, what the heck is this thing? He's trying to kill me, dude. It was crazy. How is everyday life left-handed?
Starting point is 00:46:29 It's awesome. Have I ever broken a PC? No. Will you come play with the NZX MC server? Unfortunately, I will not. But thanks for asking. Yeah, no, Minecraft would definitely insane now. When I first got into the game, or when I last played the game,
Starting point is 00:46:47 they literally just added in dungeons. Not even like abandoned mines, just dungeons that kept going in like crevasses and stuff in like the ground like ravines, right? And now it's like you got spawners and you got like spooky dudes walking around doing kinds of crazy stuff. What's your favorite?
Starting point is 00:47:07 What's your least favorite part about Minecraft and why is it fandoms? The least favorite part about Minecraft is once I do the initial beginning part, I have a house, I have all the diamonds and stuff that I want, and I feel like there's really any really good goals. I like playing goal-oriented games. I actually really like battle passes in games for that reason
Starting point is 00:47:24 because every day they'll give you a quest or every week they'll give you something to go for and I can just grind on that. I like grinding. But if there's anything for me to grind on, then I don't do it. And I also don't like modding games because modding things is time-consuming and things break
Starting point is 00:47:45 and they're not officially supported half the time. so I just don't do it. Okay, a couple more questions, because I gotta get going, I got a meeting. Have you beat the Ender Dragon? So technically I did beat the Ender Dragon on the mod server,
Starting point is 00:47:57 but I died halfway through, so they killed it for me, and I was like, okay, I guess I was gonna sit in my house now. So that sucked. I got yeated by the dragon. He threw me half across the map, and I splat down.
Starting point is 00:48:11 What song do you think fits NZXT? Can't Stop Me Now by Queen, if that's what it's called. What's your least favorite part about Minecraft? Do you like ACER monitors? Never tried them. But I heard they're good. Do you play Roblox?
Starting point is 00:48:23 No, do not. Do you have a girlfriend? Next question. Did you ever have a hardcore world and how long did you last? No idea. Yes. What's your favorite hour of the day? Lunchtime.
Starting point is 00:48:38 What is your meeting about? Meetings. When is your meeting right now? Do I sleep soon? Be better. Are you having a good day so far? I definitely am. 100%.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Hand out. We're keeping it hunted. All right, guys. I got to head out because I do got a meeting in three minutes. So thank you very much for joining. Enjoy the free coins. Thanks for giving me something to talk about for 47 minutes. Yoinks.
Starting point is 00:49:07 We'll be posting this podcast up. I don't know. So 10 later today. You got to get done. It's one of those days. Nothing's going to get done. All right, guys. Peace out.
Starting point is 00:49:17 All right, folks. And with that, thank you very much for joining the podcast. Come back next week for our regularly scheduled Thursday podcast on our Discord. That's Discord.org.org.com at 10A and Pacific Standard Time and the podcast voice and text channels. If you can do me a big old super duper favor, leave us a review if you like what you hear or even if you don't. And listen to previous episodes on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcast, SoundCloud, and Spotify. I might have messed up that order, but it's totally okay because of doing this off the cuff, off the top of my head, because I'm a professional. Thank you very much, guys, and we'll see you next time. Bye.
