Starting point is 00:00:12 And welcome to episode 46 of the NZXT Clubcast, the official podcast of the NXC community. This podcast is recorded live every Thursday at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on the official NZXT Discord server and is available to stream wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts. My name is Dennis. And with me as always is Ivan. A.k.a. DJ Poppy, now available. Just me even myself. I was going to say, AKA DJ Poppy. I'm available for weddings. mitzvahs.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Quintaneras. Quincelleras, yeah. I saw the highlight of my week is those 10 minutes that I can DJ before the podcast. It's a pretty good tune. I'm not going to lie. Definitely gets me in the mood.
Starting point is 00:00:59 You got Alan in the chat with the Selena. I tried to pump you all up. I always get pumped it before the podcast. It's a mental ritual you get to go through, right, to make sure that you can present yourself in a fun and effective. manner for the community but this podcast isn't about us you have a very special guest today Ivan who do we have today who's on we have a cat
Starting point is 00:01:24 me who's all who's also unmooted as well welcome to Discord hello today's special guest is NCXT's PR and marketing manager for Germany doc did I get that right for doc or da Dach? Which one? Dach. Capp. Hi.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Hi, Kat, how are you? Close. I'm good. How are you? I'm very good. I'm excited to have you on. We've been wanting to have you on for a while because you've been very active in the community and in the server for a while now. So I feel like, you know, it's about time.
Starting point is 00:02:02 And honestly, the timing cannot really be any better. I don't know if you agree or not. Yes, I agree. Totally. What may have happened that. spurred you being on the podcast this week. I don't know. Maybe the community knows. Oh, maybe, oh, secrets.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Secrets to everybody. Ivan, do you have any guesses? No. All right, cool. Who the DIY. All right. So, Kat, time to get started. Let's see if you can survive the gauntlet of questions that Ivan and I have prepared for you.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Number one, are you ready for this? Yes, I am. Okay, number two, what is your position at NZXD? So I'm the PR marketing manager for six countries at the moment in Europe. So it's Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Today I learned that Luxembourg gets a country. I thought it was like a state or like a city or something. Learn something new every day, right?
Starting point is 00:03:05 He's going to pull out my Atlas here real quick. I feel like people that like me and Dennis who are just, you know, like two dumb guys from the United States, like for us when we hear all these different countries, like we can't tell, tell any of them apart. Yeah, that's like a lot of U.S. people are like that. I'm sorry. I know. Do you feel like a lot of people in Europe, though, think the same thing about the United States? Like everyone here is just like driving around like in the Cadillac with horns. I'm actually I've actually been to the US twice. So I know they're actually are driving around and caddy likes eating hamburgers, right? That's true.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Yeah, I'm actually getting my catty detailed right now as we speak. Okay, sorry about that. I got a ping for one of our moderators. Thanks, Cox, too. Love you, buddy. How long have you been with NCXT? I started March 2019. Oh, dang.
Starting point is 00:04:18 It seems like every person we had on lately has been like super, super new or like within the same range. Because I started in May of last year, 2018. Really? Really? You've been here shorter. I am. Yes. That's surprising.
Starting point is 00:04:35 I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Either I am unnoticeable or something else. No, I just don't recall you not being there. So that's the thing. Ah, good answer. That's a really nice way to go around that. I feel like you've always been here. That's definitely my goal, right?
Starting point is 00:04:59 Like I feel like if it doesn't feel like you've always been here, then like, what are you doing, right? Like you have to make an impact. Yes. And I do it once, one Slack channel at a time. All right. So what did you do before in ZXCat? I worked at Alternate, which is like a big retailer in Germany. They sell PC cards.
Starting point is 00:05:21 They also build PCs. I've been building PCs some time. And then I switched to the marketing. and I started to work with NZT and then I started to work for NZT. Oh. Why NZXT? Well, I love the hardware. I mean, I have to say that, right?
Starting point is 00:05:44 But it's true anyways. And when I first got here, I didn't know a lot about everything, but I really love all the people. in NST, the community is great. I just like how it's more like a big family than everything else. Yeah, I guess you could. So if we were a family, which member of the family would Ivan be?
Starting point is 00:06:14 Which member of the family would I be? Well, Ivan is puppy, right? Uh-huh. Dennis would be my annoying little stepson. I just wanted to say the cool uncle, but whatever. I don't want to be a cool uncle This is definitely not the cool uncle Definitely not no
Starting point is 00:06:36 I'm like the I'm like the That one son who didn't really amount to much right Like I like stay at home all day I get really hold down a job School's really rough for me You know I keep getting trouble You know
Starting point is 00:06:51 I always told Dennis He calls late at night The son on GTA 5 was designed after Dennis. I actually never played Gita. I'm sorry. Well, luckily for you, it was free on the Epic Game Store. You could have picked it up there.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Yeah, no, but it's just not a game that really interests me. Is it because of all the violence or because we drive on like the right side of the road in the game? No, we drive on the right side of the lane in Germany. I'm not from the UK. I'm sorry. Don't mix that up. I forget the other ones who are backwards, right?
Starting point is 00:07:34 Yeah, it's just like, I don't know. I've played some, like, of the, like, GTA 3 and 4, I think, with my cousin when he was younger and we were younger. He was way too young to play, actually, but, well. And I just don't get so much into that. I don't know why. but it's just not my type of game I've always enjoyed GTA because sometimes you know you have those days where you have like a little bit of aggression
Starting point is 00:08:07 you just want to like run people over like not IRL yeah right obviously right never in real life violence should be reserved for video games where you can let go of all those all those deep feelings right what was the what was the hiring process for you at NZXT like who did you meet with how was like that the whole situation like so I've been working with Patrick
Starting point is 00:08:34 you know him like the sales salesperson for Germany and I called him because I saw he posted the job offer and I was like hey can you just give me some input and then the thing was like my contract was almost running out with my old company and then he gave me the Skype contact of Ismail.
Starting point is 00:08:59 I don't know if you recall him. He left some time ago. And I've been talking to him. And then I've been talking to Wesley. And then they got me in in like two days. That was really quick. Yeah. Two days?
Starting point is 00:09:17 You're here, folks. It only takes you two days to get hired in ZXT. Yeah. We needed to do it quickly because I had to like, quit at my old place before the contract was renewed because otherwise it would have taken like three months to get me out of the contract. So we like just speeded up things. Do you think that I had a follow up, but it just left my brain.
Starting point is 00:09:50 I had a really good question. It just went away. So let's move on. What's your favorite thing about working in the marketing department? I guess so the company. That's actually our community. Oh, really? Why is that?
Starting point is 00:10:06 Yeah. Why the community? Because they're like all so nice and wholesome. And I love when you get like cute DMs on social media saying, oh, guys, you're the best. You do so, your service was so good. Your product is so cool. And I really, it just gives me that one feeling to work with people. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Mm-hmm. What is your least favorite? part about working marketing at NXT? Actually, statistics, like social media numbers, three parts, you know. Oh, well, funny, we might be talking to you about that soon. Yay. Yeah, it's always something that we've been kind of thinking about, right? It's just how to make everybody's social media, right?
Starting point is 00:10:52 Not just Germany or doc or I don't know if there are other accounts that you guys have. But, you know, it's definitely something that, you know, I think we as a company is working on, right? And I'm sure you've noticed a lot of changes like in the past, even like a couple of months, right? Yeah. But like you're kind of trying to get more tight and more like kind of robust and I guess more lean as a company, right? Yes. Yes, indeed. Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:12 So hopefully in the future we'll be working a little bit more closely together. So I can get to know more about you and also what side of the road you truly drive on because I don't leave you. I think you really drive on the outside. No, no, no, no, no, we don't. I have my reservations about that. I know. I've been to Ireland when I was younger, and we drove with a bus, like with a travel group.
Starting point is 00:11:36 And so we took a ferry from France to England, and the bus driver got off the ferry and just went on the wrong side of the road and drove into, like, how do you call them in English? Like, when you have to drive a circle, how is it called in English? I don't know. Yeah, you know, wait.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Oh, roundabout. Yeah, yeah, that's death. And he just drove in it in the wrong direction because they are driving on the left lane. And we almost had a crash with a bus group. That sounds like a bad idea. Yes, it was. But nothing happened, so it's fine. All right.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Sorry, something with the server had to look at here. This is live podcast folks. For those who are listening on Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud. So one of the cool things about doing a live podcast is that you get distracted very easily because people are constantly talking in the Discord channel, but also people can ask live questions. So for those who are listening, make sure you're getting your questions in there. I know Kat is a very popular person.
Starting point is 00:12:53 So make sure you ask your deep burning super good questions or else. someone can get you. All right, Kat, what is your favorite N60 product? What my favorite N60 product is? Okay. So I really, I think probably everybody says that, but I really love pregnancy. I don't have one yet, but I plan to. I feel like as someone who works marketing, you should have one already.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Yes, yes, I also think so. So we talk to you about getting that fixed. Andy. Andy is the gatekeeper of all these gadgets. Yeah, so at the moment I have like H510 and the Craigney X-X-62 in my PC. Oh, I have an X-62 as well. What case you have again? 5-10, the black-right one, because I did like a World of Warcraft inspired built before the World of Warcraft cases came out.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Are you going to grab a World Warcraft case? I'm not sure about it because the right side of the case where most of the graphics is going on is against the wall. Uh-huh. Also, what do you play Dirty Horde for? Let's talk about that for a second. Black and red, and black and red are hard colors. Yes. Why Horde?
Starting point is 00:14:22 Well, when I first started, I was pretty late, World of Warcraft. And when I started in 2012, I think, I had like a boyfriend, like my ex-boyfriend, and he got me into it. And he was playing hard, so I just joined. And I actually tried playing some alliance characters, but I just don't like their, like the areas and everything too much. So I just kept with a heart. So instead of really cool castles, you like mud huts and dirt and stuff like that? Yes. I'll never understand that.
Starting point is 00:14:56 We have a lot of real life castles in Germany, so... You want something different, right? Yeah, yeah, indeed. All right. What is your least favorite N60 product? I think probably the internal USB hub, because I never really had the use for that. That's...
Starting point is 00:15:24 You'd actually be surprised, because I think, I mean, are we allowed to say what the first thing that was purchased was? Yeah, you just said it. Okay, there you go. Yes. Okay, Narrow. Well, that's that was done. But yeah, it's actually funny to say that because the first thing that was bought on the German N60 website was actually the internal hub, which I thought. Yeah, yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:15:42 It's really funny. It's like, all right, I can finally buy from NXT. What am I grabbing? Let me get that hub real quick. I need it for my bill. Yeah, well. I think it's honestly like one of my, one of my favorite products just because it's such a smart and simple idea, but I don't know who else. makes one like that
Starting point is 00:16:02 looks like ours that isn't like some weird like you had to go into like the PCI port or something like that as like an expansion and like uh like whenever we post about it on social people always go nuts over it
Starting point is 00:16:15 you'd be surprised like uh it's such a like simple boring product but people really love it because it saves them you know from having a build with like ports that don't work or like a whatever else you know
Starting point is 00:16:28 has it go into that USB 2.0 port yeah yeah I think that... If a lot of companies have neglected to think that you only get like two from other board. Yeah, yeah. It depends on what kind of pulled you to really, right?
Starting point is 00:16:42 Because I don't have like... I only have the cracking for... And the normal front USB parts, which is a USB 3, right? So I only have the cracking in my USB port and that's it. Yeah, I actually got lucky because I have the elite, so I don't have any 2.0 ports. It's only the 3.0 and the USBC, right?
Starting point is 00:17:05 So I have no need for my USB 2.0 ports, except for my Cracket and for my, for my, my smart hub V2. Yeah, V2. That's important. Exactly. It's the second one, better than the first. Yes. Don't call it comeback. Better microprocessor.
Starting point is 00:17:24 That's important. And in an extra more compatibility. of extra LED lanes for more for extra FPS hashtag ad All right Kat. What would you like to see NZXT make? Oh, I've been thinking about
Starting point is 00:17:46 what would be pretty cool would be another Overwatch case but more like a sticker bomb style with all the characters on there. It's actually a really good idea. You should contact Jeff about that. Because like we have an Overwatch case and I actually like it because it's like it's plain but you can like build your Overwatch board around it and put a Funko in and everything if you don't want to go to fancy.
Starting point is 00:18:19 But I just like this Dika Bump style. I actually had had some on my car earlier but I got a new car so it's gone. But just like to go a little crazy. on that. And I like that, like having something going on on your desk. You know what I mean? Yeah, that's something that I've noticed with a lot of our cases is that because our designs are very simple from like a color standpoint, right, they don't get too nuts. That people really kind of take the, they really take the opportunity to like really mess with how the case looks right, like adding stickers or painting it. I think the H1 is like a really good example of that.
Starting point is 00:18:59 Like we're always sharing in our like company Slack like really cool H1 mods. People seem to really, really like modding the H1. And I made the joke that's like, you know, people ask for like mesh the most, right? In front of the in front of the H1 instead of the glass. I made a joke that there's no point to make the mesh if people were just going to do it for us, right? Mm-hmm. Because there's some guy on, I forget what they're called. It's like artisan, artisan something mods or something like that.
Starting point is 00:19:28 but they basically sell these front panels or even like a whole replacement for the back on the front panels for the H1 and it's like well you know like now we know how to make them because now you can just buy them from this dude for like 45 bucks some panel thank you tech so yeah no it's really really cool and like that's it's definitely something like we've never discouraged people from doing right
Starting point is 00:19:46 that one looks really ugly Alan I don't like it yeah same though most of them I don't like but I like that people do it if that makes sense right Like, they look cool, but I would never do with myself. Yeah, yeah. Like, the idea behind it's cool, but if that was in my room, I might kick my case.
Starting point is 00:20:05 I actually don't think they look cool at all. I don't like any of these, like, weird, like, airflow mods. Well, the one thing I posted on Slack the other day, I don't know if you saw that, with the NZC logo in front, with the mesh and stuff, that looked pretty clean, I think. I thought that was ugly. Really? Yeah. Let me just, let me just get a picture.
Starting point is 00:20:32 I have it, I have it. I already found it. Give me second. You're too slow. You're too slow. I got it. Yeah, I thought that was ugly. Really?
Starting point is 00:20:44 I think that that's like a pretty cool thing. Here's why it's ugly. First of all, our logo is not written vertically like that. So that's number one. Here we go. Number two, I don't like how, if you look at the cutouts, like, there's like shadows on half the letter. So like, it's something's weird with it where it's like,
Starting point is 00:21:09 it's not lighting through or like it's partially lit or something. And then second, it's like, or third of all, it's just that, that's not going to give you like a bunch of airflow or anything. It's just going to, I don't know. It's just like it's just there. It's not doing anything. Yeah, it's definitely one of those things like you see it and either you like it or you don't, right? Yeah, I'm be real.
Starting point is 00:21:35 I'm not a big fan of that one either. I mean, you know, props to people who want them other cases, right? And if you like it, you like it. I wouldn't do that to my computer though. Sorry, that's sorry. I would rather just put stickers all over it. And could have. Airflow is a myth.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Right. Um, Overwatch is. Overwatch is okay, sorry. I was going to make sure how we got to this train of thoughts. I was like, what are we talking about before? Okay. Man, we're really flying through this one. I'm pretty impressed.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Kat, do you have a special shoutout for anyone in the company who you feel like needs some extra love or need some, you know, some recognition that normally wouldn't get it? My Spanish marketing colleague Rosa. She's like such. Why is that? She's like such a nice, nice person. and I met her in person in December when we had like the big Europe meetup
Starting point is 00:22:32 and going around Munich and went to the city and talked a lot and she's such a nice person Yeah, Rosa's super super cool I hope to get her on as well because she's also a big part of the community but I feel like her community is a little different right because
Starting point is 00:22:51 like channels like is you like Germany Australia trying to think of the ones used to be in the lens right a lot of the users in those channels are in the rest of the server right but for the Latin American channels like Brazil Mexico not Spain Spain Spain but yeah but I feel like for for those for those channels they kind of chill in their own channels which is totally cool right you know and that's kind of the purpose of those channels to kind of bring those communities together.
Starting point is 00:23:29 But like, I for sure want to get Rosa on to talk about Spain for sure. And I want to get if I can sometimes soon, Abner, to talk about Mexico and Brazil. Because those channels are actually, they're actually not that quiet. They're pretty popping. And I like to get his, you know, his like thoughts on that stuff. How do you feel about the Germany channel? I like the people on Germany Channel. But I'm sometimes I'm a little sad because it's not so talkative.
Starting point is 00:23:56 there's some days where there's like only five people saying hi and then that's all that happens in the channel wow Germans you're all got to pick it up yeah but but I try to talk with them as good as I can and I hope they they jump into conversation we also have like pretty good days where we talk a lot but um some I I just hope they they just pick up some some interaction and the channel will get more active because I would really love to have the community talk more. And just give them a free PC. Well, I am actually giving them a free PC right now.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Oh, really? Tell us more about this free computer. So you can, people from Germany and Austria, I'm sorry about the others. You can go to an announcement channel and find the link. We actually have a pretty neat built. Yeah, thank you, Texel for that. That's a tweet.
Starting point is 00:25:00 We have actually, let me see. I think I have a picture of it. Right out of the, right out of the Munich office, actually. It's uploading. I'm sorry. It's a big. Oh, well, that's a very big warehouse. Yes, that's a very big warehouse and a very nice PC to go along with that.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Is that all the packing foam? in the back over there, the back left corner? It's a great radio, by the way. I don't know what it is. I haven't been to the Munich office. How to get German citizenship? Oh, there we go. Yeah, I'm going to need that so I can get that free PC.
Starting point is 00:25:50 I don't think it's limited to anything, right? I can just win it if I enter. Yeah, it's like the page is called Geat. It's similar to Gleem. You know Gleem. You all. use gleam but Germany uses Geat. I don't know why. Um, so you like, yeah. I don't know. It's G.H. I don't even, I'm not even sure how to pronounce it. It's G. I don't know either.
Starting point is 00:26:16 It's funny because like it literally looks just like, it looks just like, uh, just like gleam. Like, I don't know what the difference is. Yeah, this was made by Germans. So Germans use it because they got some bigger influencers to use it for their giveaways and it got more popular. So it's more popular than Clem in Germany. So we use Geek. Okay, okay. That makes sense. It's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:26:44 So it's not a bad build. X-63, 9700K, 2070 super. It's basically my PC. 16 gigs of RAM. C-650. Would you get one of those? I thought we were out. He guys been holding out on us.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Well, you should ask Eddie about that. I think I will. I'm always getting DMs about power supplies. I'm like, I don't know, man. You know, we'll get them in a scene and let me get them, right? Yeah, I want for me. I'm just a Twitter guy. I don't know much about it.
Starting point is 00:27:14 All right. Cool. Well, thank you for that, Kat. And congrats to Rosa for being a special employee of the week. We should probably name it something from like that, right? It's like a, who's your employee of the week or who's your coworker of the week? Yeah. just do a discard server role.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Even if they're not in here, right? There's like Poochie's pick and cat's pick. Right. Oh, that's a good idea. Johnny's pick, right? Yeah, yeah. It's always Johnny. All right, Ivan, would you like to get into the next section, my good friend?
Starting point is 00:27:54 I was going to say we should do Poppy's Pepega. That was a good one. Yeah. So, Kat, how do you pronounce your full name? My full first name is Katarina. Katarina. Almost, yeah. But when I first went to the U.S., it was like people weren't really able to announce it. and then they just shortened it down to CAT
Starting point is 00:28:31 and that's what I'm called by English-speaking person since I don't know, 2009. Wow. Sorry, Dennis is DMing me here. It's totally a regular now. It's funny because Ivan always like DMs me in the middle of the podcast, and he's like, hey, make sure we're staying on schedule, make sure that we're doing things in order. And then he literally does it. Well, you said, Ivan, you want to take it away? Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:05 You know, on the next section, which is supposed to be about NZXT, Germany, or Doc, or. I haven't got the questions. I'm confusing myself here. This has your name next to it. Not my name. I just added it. All right, Kat. Sorry about that.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Well, anyway, you are here to. you know, talk more about our recent dock launch. So can you talk a little bit about that? Yeah. So the funny thing about it was actually the last two or three months, while we were like really hard working on that. And we've been working a lot with a lot of people all across the globe. I got so many DMs asking, we'll be able to come to Germany. It was just funny because it's like people sense that it's going to come someday, but it just got more and more until we launched. And it was really, really funny, actually.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Yeah. So. Ever since I've been working here, even before we had Build, people would be asking, like, when's NZXC going to be in Germany or when's NDXC going to be in, you know, basically anywhere, like all different parts of the world. but after launching build, I think the most requested place was definitely, like, Germany. Also, I guess UK also, the top two people are asking for. So I'm very glad that we were able to go to Germany because that's literally like where people have been asking for a really long time, right?
Starting point is 00:30:51 Yeah. I also like the fact because it's my region, right? Yeah, that's true. So we've been working, like the preparations were going on since I think winter last year, like November, December, something like that. But the last two months were like a really, really like a sprint. We were working with all the teams with the web engineers. They did like amazing jobs. They work really hard.
Starting point is 00:31:23 We are creative also. We've been working with like all of the employees from everywhere. And it was just like a really nice experience because you connect and you talk a lot to the people. Because for me, because since I'm working from home and I don't know the people a lot from other countries and everything. And I got to know some more people and you like grow closer as a company. and it was a really nice experience to launch. And what does Doc stand for again? Dak is actually Deutschland, Austria and Switzerland.
Starting point is 00:32:05 That's Germany, Austria and Switzerland. So why do you hate Switzerland? What? How come we're only launched in Germany and Austria and not Switzerland? The thing is, Switzerland. has another like currency Oh, that's what
Starting point is 00:32:29 So they don't have the euro They have Franken And Schweitzer Franken Oh boy This is going to be It's going to be fun
Starting point is 00:32:41 I don't know how they're called in English I'm sorry But The thing is There's like some problems With like shipping to Switzerland and with the taxes and with the currency and everything. So that complicates stuff a little.
Starting point is 00:33:02 Yeah. Do you think we'll ever... Who's... Do you think we'll ever expand it to Switzerland? Oh, maybe. Let's see how... Let's see how it is going, right? You know what's funny?
Starting point is 00:33:16 It's like in a lot of movies. Like, Switzerland's always a country where like the shady money, money stuff's going down. down, right? Like, everyone's always, like, moving money into, like, a Swiss bank account or something like that. I wonder if they had, like, some weird, uh, weird thing going over there with their currency. I don't know. I've actually been to Switzerland once, and I just drove by to get to Italy. Dang, just like that? It's like, eh, I'm going to pass by three to Italy. Yeah, just, uh, we went to a festival.
Starting point is 00:33:54 festival because in the top of Italy there's a region where they speak German. Oh, cool. And they had a festival there, so we drove down there to go to the festival. In Italy? Yeah. What's the name of that region? I've ever heard of that. South Tyrol.
Starting point is 00:34:13 Huh? How do you spell that? How do you spell that? She's the same hall. Cat, carol, caro. Yeah, thank you. There you go. What Caro said.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Okay. I'm going to look it up now. What are you guys talk? Because I'm curious. I want to learn about this. So, Kat, what were some of the challenges in setting up? Setting up over there in the Doc region? So we have a translation agency to translate all the NCC website and BLD website,
Starting point is 00:34:48 which is a lot of text, really. I know because when it came back from the translation agency, It actually had a lot of mistakes. And I were the one to proofread and rewrite it. Yeah. I signed the Slack in the Slack channel at work for the build launch stuff. And like Snow, when she gave the shout out to everyone, she mentioned that you had spent a lot of time on the translation.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Yeah, only about three weeks or something, 10 hours a day. what not. That was like, yeah, translation was like a crazy road. And then when the engineers actually started to put up the website, they just came around the corner with, hey, we still got this missing. Hey, we still got this missing. So I translated some more. And then the customer support came, hey, we still need translation for customer support pages.
Starting point is 00:35:50 And then I translated some more. and it went on like that that is a lot of translation 10 hours a day for three weeks well yeah you got it done so good job yeah we still have some
Starting point is 00:36:08 some minor issues but we'll get there eventually so what can people buy now from MZXT in Germany in Austria everything NZXT offers actually. Including computers, right?
Starting point is 00:36:25 Including BLDs. Cool. So like, do we have also the same pre-builts and the same customs or are the parts different? The parts of the pre-builds are different actually. I think we had some changes in the hardware. I don't know what exactly because that was not my part of the launch. but I saw them discussing about what pre-bills they're going to set up
Starting point is 00:36:55 working closely with the USBLTE team though yeah because I know like the pre-builds like if you try to configure a pre-built and our configurator to have like almost exact same parts the prices come out differently and like I remember when I asked about it I think the reason is because like the pre-bolds are almost kind of like a bundle deal right in the sense we're like we get all these things together so they can get them down at that price as opposed to having it like almost like Alicart, right?
Starting point is 00:37:23 Oh, wait a second. Sorry. You just, I just switched something up because you said pre-bills and I thought you mean the pre-configured systems and the BLD builder. But you mean the actual pre-bills like a streamer PC and everything, right? Right, yeah, yeah. Yeah, we don't have those in Germany at the moment. Okay. So you guys heard it here.
Starting point is 00:37:48 If you want to buy a computer, you have to make your own. Yeah, but just use the tool that we got. It's pretty easy. Yeah, it's really easy. Is it true that German computers are better than regular computers? Yeah, because German engineering is better than other engineering. No, I don't think so. I think like the computer parts are the same all around the globe, right?
Starting point is 00:38:15 Are computers in Germany, though, they run on diesel fuel? I don't know. So I have a diesel car and it stinks, like diesel stings a lot. And I wouldn't want to have this in my gaming room. What kind of car do you think? A Spanish car, actually. It's a Seat, Seat. I don't know how you, do you have, you probably don't.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Spain makes cars. Well, wait, let me just show you. I'm going to Google. for a picture. Yeah, there we go. Is it a Fiat? Yeah, that was what cattle just sent. No, it's a Seat.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Like seat. You have a seat. You have a seat? The car is a seat. I actually have a seat here the float. I actually have a seat heater in my seat. never use the heater. I think I think when I sat in Ivan's car for the first time
Starting point is 00:39:25 he turned on the heater or something and I don't know if it was on purpose or not, but it was really really uncomfortable and kind of weird because we're driving to the pop-up. I think it's the first time like actually like really took like a real drive with Ivan. I sit down and I'm like, what's my bump warm, dude? I was trying to run you out.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Well, it doesn't get too cold where you add, right? Or do you have like really cold winter We're really wimpy. Like today was 78 and cloudy and I was like, ooh, hoodie weather. Well, 78. Wait, let me just, uh, Celsius to. Well, like right now, right now it's 64 degrees in Anaheim.
Starting point is 00:40:06 So, you know, it's a, for me, 64 is like definitely put on like a nice jacket so that I don't get all chewy. Yeah. Let me see. So what did you say? 78. That's 25, that's 25 degrees. That's really. warm actually. That's actually really cool for this time of you over here. Like a couple of weeks ago,
Starting point is 00:40:26 it was like 95 degrees. Okay, so right now it is currently 17 degrees Celsius in my part of the of the of town. Is that cold or is that warm for you cat? 17 degrees. It's fine. It's not too cold. For us, for us that's legit put on a jacket because my fingers are going to get cold. What? Yeah. So we have like right now, let me just see. We have like, I don't know, 20 degrees, something. That's like, let me just convert it.
Starting point is 00:41:06 That's like 68 degrees over at you. And I'm at that's T-shirt weather. Yeah, like last week it was 35. degrees Celsius. That's really hot. That's like typical summer. If it gets in the hundreds for us, which would be... It will get in the hundreds.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Yeah, no, it definitely will. Every year where the NXT office is located, we have like a one-month stretch where it's like every day is like 100 degrees, at least. It drives me nuts. I don't like summer. I don't like hot, hot. I'm a winter child.
Starting point is 00:41:56 I was born in December and I actually, I would rather like move to Norway or something than sit here with like one hundred degrees. Same. But I'm stuck here. Can't leave now, dude. Yeah, nobody can leave now. Yeah, nobody can leave now. I actually have a week off next weekend. We actually wanted to go on vacation, so no vacation.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Maybe next year. I don't know. Yeah, I was going to ask, everything's closed. Where are you going to go? Well, in Germany, actually, everything's back open, but the border is still closed. So you can go to shops and everything and go visit stuff. You just have to wear your mask when you go to a shop or to public transferred. But other than that, our numbers are actually dropping and everything's back up.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Well, that's good news. Yeah. Yeah, I think so. All right. So if people buy a German-slash Austrian computer, can they change the language on it? I don't know what Dennis means by this question. question, he wrote it down. It was like super late at night
Starting point is 00:43:18 and I was thinking like dumb questions I could ask so I figured this would be a dumb question to ask. It's pretty dumb because it makes no sense. Yes, but first thing about that, we only ship to Germany in Austria, right? So they're all talking German. But then still you can change when you like first put your PC,
Starting point is 00:43:40 your Windows is going to ask you what language you wanted to put to have So, good Tag. Gooden tag. All right. And then last question
Starting point is 00:43:54 we got for you about the doc stuff is, are you hiring over there? Yeah, we actually are. We still look for a second customer support agent. Our first one
Starting point is 00:44:07 is already hired. You might have seen him around. He's called Lutra. Yeah, he just, the road in the chat. There he is. That's our customer agent, Jakob. And then we have, we still hire a second PC builder in Munich. And I think that's about it for now.
Starting point is 00:44:36 I feel like Jakob has like a identity crisis because I'm looking at his profile on Discord and every name he has tied to this is different. His battle net name is different. His legal legend name is different. His Steam name is different. And his Twitch is different. Or their Twitch is different. Can you please get some explanation on this?
Starting point is 00:44:57 I'm very confused. Yeah. Go, Jacob. Do it. State your case in the chat and then we'll read it later. Do you have any like, any thoughts or like parting words or anything you want to tell the community? about N16 and BLD Germany slash Austria? What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:45:23 Sorry. Well, like, is there like any advice you want to give people or like, I don't know, like anything you want to ask the community or I don't know, just like anything you want to say about it before we move on? Well, we have put a lot of effort into the website and we have put a lot of work into building that. all up and we just hope all you guys appreciate it. And also, if you go to the website and find any mistake or back or something, don't hesitate to, like, shoot me a DM or something so we can get it fixed. All right. Cool.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Awesome. Thank you very much. All right. Time for the fun questions. How do you pronounce your full name once again? Let me try it. Katarina. Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Almost. Just you roll the R, but I think that's just like we don't over here. It's like Katarina. Katarina. Yeah. Close. You're close. Katarina.
Starting point is 00:46:38 It sounds like Spanish to me. For sure, people call you cat. Yes. So do you prefer cats or dogs? I actually prefer dogs Wow But I have three cats And no dog at the moment
Starting point is 00:46:56 You prefer dogs You have no dogs But you have three cats Yes Well it's actually It's actually a funny story Do your cats know you hate them No I don't hate them
Starting point is 00:47:09 I really love them What's the funny story about your cats Why do you have three cats and no dogs So the thing is when I worked at my old job, I was like gone for eight to ten hours a day. So I wasn't really able to have a dog because you need to go out with them and everything. And I didn't want them to be alone so long. So my cousin had gotten a new cat.
Starting point is 00:47:35 And the cat started to like, because she also has dogs and the cat started to pee on the dog beds. And yeah. The cat. Pee on the dog beds. Yeah. That's really petty. Yeah, that's what cats do. So she actually was thinking about giving the cat away and everything because she couldn't
Starting point is 00:48:04 just like remove the dog beds because the dogs obviously need them. And I didn't have a pet at the time and I wanted one. So I was like, oh, I can just take him. because I don't have no dog beds, and so everything will be fine. And then we took him in, and so we got Spike. And then after a short while, I just went to the internet and found out cats actually don't like to be alone so much. So we went to the shelter and got a second cat. And then I actually was our second cat, which is Alice, is really...
Starting point is 00:48:45 She's really chill. She always wants to sleep and cuddle and sleep and cuddle and nothing else. And Spike, the first cat, he's, like, more active and he wants to play and everything. So we decided to get, like, a second active cat so Spike can play with them and Alice can chill. So that's how we got our third cat, who's called baby. Baby. Mm-hmm. Baby like a child baby.
Starting point is 00:49:13 Yeah, because he was actually. We thought about a name and we actually decided to call him Fenrir, like from the Notre mythology. But when he got in, he was like a small kitten and he was way too cute. And we just started to say baby to him and then we just didn't change. So he's still called baby. For someone who doesn't like cats, you sure have a lot of cats. Yeah, I didn't say I don't like cats. I just prefer dogs over cats.
Starting point is 00:49:48 Yeah, me too. I'm a dog, dog guy. Cats hate me for some reason. Every single cat I've ever encountered in my life has scratched me. I text was sharing pictures of my cats. Creeper. Instagram stalking, be really here. Speaking of Instagram stalking.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Yeah, is it true that you're really into horses as well? Yeah, I have a horse. What kind of horse do you have? It's American Quarter Horse, actually. Oh, yeah? But he's like... What's yours is his name? It's Navajo Tees, Texas.
Starting point is 00:50:32 Navajo Tees? But it's like, wait, I'm going to write it down. Let me write it down. It's like that. Navajo Tees, Texas. Yes. It's a very American name. Yehaw.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Yeah. Quarter horses, you know, they're for racing. So I'm assuming, and they always had like these like crazy names. So I'm assuming you got this horse from the States. No, no. Like in Jared, we, if you get like quarter houses in Germany, you still apply the same rules to names like you do in the US because it's like still the same breeding and everything. And, but, but not.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Now, like, we got him when I was, like, 11 or 12. Mm-hmm. And now he's, like, 27, like me. So we don't ride him anymore. He's just chilling on the meadows and having a nice life because he's old. Yeah, I love horses. Yeah. No, I actually rides him.
Starting point is 00:51:40 I do. Yeah. That's something that really surprised me that you wrote hosts horses, because, like, I never, I never saw you as a person who allowed we just hop on a horse, you know. Well, I'm really shocked that Taxu doesn't share any horse pictures from my Instagram right now because I'm talking about horses now.
Starting point is 00:52:01 My horse, her name is La Pietta, which is a Spanish name, but she actually has a very, like, American, like quarter horse type name as well. Her real name is Susie. he's first down. Yeah, yeah, that's a quadar's name. Indeed.
Starting point is 00:52:21 I don't know much about horses. How do you get in the horses? Do you just go to like a horse store and buy one? Or like what's the process for it's like getting a horse? Well, I don't know about cat, but for me, my, both my parents come from Mexico and they grew up around, you know, horses and animals and stuff. So when I was a kid here in the United States, my dad. And mom, they bought a ranch because they just wanted to have animals and stuff.
Starting point is 00:52:54 So I just grew up around horses. For me, it wasn't like a weird thing. It was just like a thing. Like, you know, people walk their dogs. Like, I rode my horse. It was not a big deal. Yeah, for me, it was like when I was young, like really young, like three or four years. My grandma brought me to friends of hurt to like,
Starting point is 00:53:18 play with them and they were breeding quarter horses actually and when I was older my mom decided she wanted a horse and then she bought teas we call him teas and after some time her knee got injured and she couldn't write it anymore so I just took him over because he's family right yeah so how long has it been since you've been um since you've been writing exactly I think it's four or five years because he's just old now and he has a bad back and I just don't want to like, he would definitely go out and ride on a ride with me, but I don't want to hurt him or something. Yeah. Well, it's cool you still have your horse hanging out there.
Starting point is 00:54:20 Now he's just like your big dog. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, actually. Big dog. Three cats and one big dog. Yeah, but you can. I can actually go there and just brush him and go on a walk or something. So it's like a dog.
Starting point is 00:54:35 All right. My last question for you, Kat, is what's your favorite Pokemon? Oh, that's a tough one. That's a really tough one. Really? Because your status on Slack has Pikachu on it. Yeah, but that's not my favorite. Actually, I need to translate that.
Starting point is 00:54:57 but I think it's it's because I don't know the English words I don't know the English names of the Pokemon. Oh are there are there different names of different countries for the Pokemon? Yes. Oh I thought they're all the same so it's a learn something new every day right again yeah no for sure so I actually actually love Pitchett a lot and that's a It's like uncommon because nobody else does. I was going to say, yeah, no one likes that Pokemon. Why?
Starting point is 00:55:40 Because when I started, I got my Gambo color and the Yellow Edition. And I got my Pikachu because you couldn't choose to start off, obviously, on the Yellow Edition. But then I first, my first catch was like the, I don't know the first state of the Pokemon, but you know what I mean. That was my first catch. And I just had him on the team all the time and trained him up and got him until level 100 and everything. And it was just like, I just deeply connected to him. I feel like I missed out so much because I have no idea what Pokemon is. Seriously.
Starting point is 00:56:27 Like Pokemon came out. I'm pretty sure. I was either like a senior in high school or like a freshman in college. Like I, for me, Pokemon, it was always like a little kid thing. It was never like a part of my childhood or anything. So when people talk about Pokemon, I legit have no idea what the heck they're talking about. Like it just, I didn't, I didn't grow up with Pokemon at all. Well, I usually feel really old when I'm on the server, but now I'm feeling.
Starting point is 00:57:00 young thank you for that well would the Pokemon come out I think I was watching Pokemon and I was like in third or fourth grade or something so you must have been at least like a high school age what year was that
Starting point is 00:57:13 um I don't know let me see I'm gonna Google it yeah I can release the Pokemon um it's gonna hard I don't be easy to find that info but
Starting point is 00:57:29 it's probably on Wikipedia yeah Like the movies were like 1999. Yeah. Yeah. So, 1989 is when I graduated from high school. So for me... 1999.
Starting point is 00:57:43 There you go. That's why for me it was always like... Oh, wait. No, no, no, no. No, no. Little kid thing. The first game was 1996. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:54 So it was four at that time. I know Pikachu. I know Jiggly Puff. And I think that's it. Yeah. That's not a lot. I know. But I do, I do, I do, I do feel like I missed out because it looks like fun.
Starting point is 00:58:19 And, you know, with like the whole like Pokemon Go stuff and like I've seen like hundreds of people at the park. And I'm just like, man, I wish I was into that. Like I guess I could still get into it, but it's a little different, you know, like, I'm like already 30 years too late. I kind of want to recommend it because I'm not going to lie and people are going to hate me for this. Pokemon kind of sucks. Like the basic formula of the games hasn't changed since like it originally came out. And I feel like they personally have done very little to like evolve the series enough for games been around since 1997. Right.
Starting point is 00:58:55 That's almost that's over 20 years. So for me. Since the games. It's super funny because for me it's like. I saw some streams about the Pokemon's sword and shield and I was like oh my god that's so different and I don't want to play it because it's not what I'm used to because it's like yeah yeah it's like a whole different
Starting point is 00:59:19 angle I have on that yeah like I still don't feel that like sword and shield is really all that different like they've done a couple things to like swap it to like change out the formula a little bit but I feel like it's still at its base, like still very similar, you know, like, fights are the same. Catching Pokemon's the same, right?
Starting point is 00:59:39 Like, I, I feel like they, to me, like, a evolution for Pokemon really should be, like, you're, you're more like a real Pokemon trainer, right? And you're actually, you know, training these Pokemon and you're living with them and you got to feed them. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:59:53 To me, I basically want Daisy, but Pokemon. It's what I'm saying. He's walking around, looting the floor for berries and you get clapped by a Charzart or something and lose all your Pokemon. I think that'd be cool.
Starting point is 01:00:14 The Coxman wants to know opinions on Pokemon Snap. No opinion for me. Really? No. That Snap was lit. It was such a fun game. I never played it. It was really simple and you literally just were on rails the entire time.
Starting point is 01:00:34 and you were taking pictures of Pokemon, but then you got these tools to like, I think it's like food and like pester balls and stuff like that so that you can like coax Pokemon out and do different things. And like there are little secrets. So like, I don't really remember too many top of my head, but it's like if you did like a certain thing to Pokemon, they will like wake up and move around and another Pokemon pops out.
Starting point is 01:00:57 So it was like it was a really cool fun little game that they, that they kind of put out that I think people didn't expect to, Not say be as in death, but like kind of do things that are like a little different. I think I actually I actually tried it at a friend's house someday when I was like really really young, but I don't recall much of it. It's a big shame. I don't know if I'll forget the new Pokemon snap, but I have adult money now and I have zero debts now. So I'd spend money on dumb stuff. It's mostly all video games.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Kimonos. Yep. And my weed gear so I can stay stay hip and stay on topic with all the
Starting point is 01:01:43 youngans to watch anime. Yeah, actually just some weeks ago I just ordered some more nerd charts but I already
Starting point is 01:01:51 have so many because Yeah, I need to clear some out. Yeah, yeah I did and then got new ones that it just
Starting point is 01:02:01 it doesn't make sense. I don't know. my brain just went off when I see cool t-shirts. Yeah, it never stops. Yeah, no. All right. So let's move on to community questions from the community.
Starting point is 01:02:18 Hopefully you guys have asked some good questions for Kat. What should I get through as many as we can, but we do want to keep to a semi-decent schedule. Don't forget, guys, if you want your questions answered live, check out the podcast every Thursday, 10-N-Pacific Standard Time. on the N60 Discord server, Discord.g.g slash nzxte. Actually, I think Discord changed their name too, right?
Starting point is 01:02:40 It's like Discord.com now, but I don't know if that has to do with the servers, but that's something for another thing. Yeah, Discord is on Discord.com now. Was it always on Discord.com? No, it's Discord.org.org. Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:02:57 What we did with you? No, it was Discord app.com. That's what it was. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, they recently got their Twitter handle too. Like the UCB Discord app on Twitter. Yeah. I'm still waiting for Steam to own Steam.com.
Starting point is 01:03:14 I don't think they do. Did they finally get that domain? Steam.com? Let me see. Nope, I don't think so. I think it's still Steam app or like Steam games or something. It's so weird. You think Valve could actually like buy it off of them, right?
Starting point is 01:03:30 Yeah, Steampowered.com. Oh, God. Jesus. Steaming up doesn't work. Yeah. Okay. Well, anyway. Okay, community questions.
Starting point is 01:03:37 Number one question is from Kili. What is your largest responsibility at NZXT? My largest responsibility. Mm-hmm. Oof. That's a tough question because I think the responsibilities are like, it switches from week to week, watch what I spend the most time on. but what I do every week is like social media posting and answering social media DMs
Starting point is 01:04:08 and I spend a lot of time with influencer marketing like talking to influencers, finding new influencers, streamers, YouTubers. Yeah, that's a lot, right? It definitely takes a lot of time to respond to many people as we can. and it's something that we, I think that we like pride ourselves on, right? It's like just a lot of communication with their community, both on Discord and also on other social media platforms.
Starting point is 01:04:37 And it takes a lot of time, you know? It's worth it, but it takes time. Yeah, but definitely worth it. Yeah. I would say my biggest responsibility is catching all the things that people don't catch or being alerted to things that people don't catch. Because like how you're asking earlier that like people, you know, about the new launches for Germany and Austria.
Starting point is 01:05:02 Like, you know, if you guys find any problems, let me know. That's kind of like, I'll say my biggest responsibility is just like keeping an eye out for people complaining about stuff because sometimes they won't tell you something is wrong, but just complain about it. And then like, you know, you kind of have to dig a little bit deeper to find out, oh, this is an issue that's not just, you know, one person. It's like a lot of people, right? So you have to find the right person to bring that information to make sure that, you know,
Starting point is 01:05:22 that they handle it and kind of keep on them too, right? And sometimes you kind of feel a little bad because, like, you're constantly bugging people about the same thing multiple times, but like, you know, you got to do it, right? Yeah, yeah. I know, I know what you mean. Yeah. I do the same.
Starting point is 01:05:38 Yeah. Pencil wants to know. Do you like working for NZXT more than for alternate? Yes, I do. All right. Easy. Yeah, that was the good one, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:53 Proton babies wants to know. What languages do you speak and could you say hello in every life? language you speak? So I speak German, which is Hello. Actually, it's the same, but with an A. Then English, obviously. I speak a little French because I had it in school, but I forgot most of it, which would be
Starting point is 01:06:14 Bonjour. And then I recently started to learn Dutch for like three months now, so I can talk to the Netherlands community, which would be good a yeah and then
Starting point is 01:06:35 I can say hello in some more languages but that wouldn't be fair because I don't speak them oh
Starting point is 01:06:41 do it anyway yeah I should totally do it just go like one right after another and then we'll guess which one it is oof
Starting point is 01:06:56 well you know Olla Yes. You know that? I'm assuming that's Spanish. Then let me think. Maybe I just said, maybe I just said I can say it in more languages, but I just don't recall one right now. Gotcha.
Starting point is 01:07:24 All right. Next question. Let's see. I guess Razen wants to know what products do you own slash enjoy the most? I believe we already spoke on that. Like what your favorite N60 product is? I'm assuming it's that silly, but people keep changing their names. Is the German N60 meetup going to be at Gamescom next year?
Starting point is 01:07:44 I hope so. I totally hope so. Let's see if we can have a Gamescom next year. If we have a Gamescom, I'm definitely going to shovel some time to meet everyone who wants to meet me. Yeah, same here. I definitely want to go too. I think I just like listen to a podcast this morning about how CES is like, now we're still going to have CES 2021 and I'm like,
Starting point is 01:08:10 that's a really bad idea, dude. Yeah. Especially like an event like CES. It's like that's like that's like super international and like everybody goes to that event. Yeah. And it goes like a kitchen. Yeah. I definitely don't think it's a good idea.
Starting point is 01:08:26 All right. Redemption wants to know. What do you want to see NZXT. expand to. Not quite sure. I think maybe he's asking like what products maybe. He said what.
Starting point is 01:08:42 So maybe it's like what products? Yeah. Phone cases. What? Phone cases. Yeah. Yeah. The NZXT podcast empire NZXT phone case concepts. Yeah. I just saw it.
Starting point is 01:08:57 I just saw it. And is it just a triple case? What more do you need? Nothing, nothing really. So when now we're going to do some cool Nvidia graphics cards. That'd be kind of cool, right? Yeah, it's like a limited run. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:20 Purple RGB. Oh, Creighton. It's RGB, but only purple. Yeah. But then end the Creighton G-13 for the RTX models. Oh, yeah, huh. Because I guess, like, recently, I just got, like, so many questions, hey, does this fit to my RTX, whatnot?
Starting point is 01:09:42 And I'm always like, oh, I'm sorry, it's not compatible. Yeah, or like, people ask, hey, is this work for this thing that doesn't really, isn't released yet? I'm like, I don't know, dude, it's not out. How am I supposed to be something that isn't released if it works or not? Yeah. Yeah, you know, it's, it's, yeah, it's like, I don't. don't know what you want for me.
Starting point is 01:10:05 But let's not do that one because they're not supposed to. Money wants to know, do you think it would be good for someone in the UK to work at the Munich HQ? Well, we actually are looking for people who speak both German in English. And like for the customer support agents and the builders. We definitely need people to speak German, but I think like for German positions, speaking German is necessary. I would hope so, right? Yeah. Even if you like go remote, you should like speak German.
Starting point is 01:10:50 So it might be possible if you study German hard. Is the, is the German support team going to be angrier? What? Are they going to be nice? So, so, Jakob, the guy who was like the customer support guy, he's been, I actually got him into N60 because he's been my, he's been my friend since like over a year now. And he's living close to Munich and I was like, hey, we're looking for a customer support guy. And he was like, oh, where do I apply? So he's like really nice and a really good guy. And he's going to be a really nice customer support agent. Unless. Unless you ask stupid questions. What?
Starting point is 01:11:43 Yeah, we'll see. Okay. Trugglesnaff wants to know. What is the biggest difference between the US and Germany for you? For me, like when we talk about working or like general. I don't know. In general, it was really crazy when I went to the U.S. and it's like last time I went there was 2010 or 2011.
Starting point is 01:12:14 And I stayed with a friend in Denver. And I went to the grocery store and actually wanted to cook something like from scratch, like really homemade dinner and went to the supermarket or grocery store and was super confused that it's so. expensive to buy fresh food and so cheap to buy fast food. Yep. That's not a good old food drought. There was like one day last week where I believe, like I had a meeting with Dennis at lunch and he's like, hold on my food's here, my delivery guy's here.
Starting point is 01:12:57 And then like three hours later I had another meeting with him. And he's like, can we wrap up this meeting? I want to go get some chick filet. In the same day, I believe you had fast food from two different places. I don't think I've ever done that in my life. What? You're not a real gamer. You're not a real gamer.
Starting point is 01:13:16 It's pretty dank. Fast food in the same day? Yeah. Like last week. Starbucks, okay, it doesn't count. Starbucks doesn't count, I think. I don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:28 But also like other things that really puzzled me about. the US health insurance. Oh, God. It's not going to do it. That's a whole separate podcast just for that. And then I was like, when I like the overall work conditions is really different. I recognize that because when I like look through the website translation and I saw all the benefits for US people working at NST and I was like, okay.
Starting point is 01:14:02 So I don't know what it said I think it said like five paid days off Or something like that And in Germany It's illegal to have less than 24 days paid off It's illegal Yeah If you like have a full-time job
Starting point is 01:14:20 You legally have to have at least 24 days Of paid vacation a year I don't allow Dennis to have any days off It's minimum It's minimum By the way Yeah like I remember when I was working at Kakao and we would uh we would like we had two teams we had one team that was in um um um um
Starting point is 01:14:39 um um um um um um um um um um um um and then one team that was in the u s and those fools i swear were off every other day they would never be in the office and i'm like when do these guys get anything done like i would always have to do all the work for them because they're never working it's like some bank holiday or some national holiday or just like a regular we're not working today day i don't know well but after all I think I I don't know if I could go on only five
Starting point is 01:15:08 five days off a week because you know Germans have like really strict working mentality like Germans are more like okay I'm working now and then just like work really hard and get things done
Starting point is 01:15:25 and then it's just like I need like at least one or two weeks to just chill down because it's dressy and everything. I don't know. I don't know. I just try to stay chill all the time. Must be nice. There's really no point in dressing or worrying.
Starting point is 01:15:55 Just stay chill. That's true. It's true. Yeah. Pencil wants to know who is your favorite pet. Who's my favorite pet? Yeah, which one? Because you got four of them, right?
Starting point is 01:16:07 You got three cats and a big dog. Yeah. Which one is the best one? Well, that's not fair. If you could only keep one. Well, that's not fair. Yeah, Pencil, stop asking unfair questions. So we have like, so like my cat.
Starting point is 01:16:29 Cats, for example, all three of them have like a very different character and I can't decide. And my horse, he's just like, I've got him for like 15 years now. So he's just like rather a family member than a pet. I couldn't, I couldn't decide at all. Yeah, what Mike said. Social media works 257, yeah. 366. My former intern.
Starting point is 01:16:58 Another person I told never to have a date. off. For me, you're going to work. You can I know a day off? Hackerman Viji wants to know. What did you do in uni?
Starting point is 01:17:14 I actually went to uni, but I didn't finish. Nice. So I did like digital media, which is like a combination of media design or creative and programming.
Starting point is 01:17:30 and I did it for one and a half years. And then I just figured out it wasn't really the right thing for me. So I got to alternate and did my, like in Germany, you do like three years job trainings, which gives you like a proper training to the job with going to school and working in the company, but you get like a little wage and everything.
Starting point is 01:17:58 and then I became an IT system, a salesperson. That's what I'm actually learned. I originally went to school to teach, to be a teacher for elementary school, which is probably why I can deal with the server so well because y'all children and y'all don't behave. Yeah, Texel. But it's pretty easy for me.
Starting point is 01:18:28 Texel just shout about in German that's what I am IT system Kauffrao Kauffrao Kauffrao yes
Starting point is 01:18:41 Hmm That's These German words are very hard And they're very long too I was I take a screenshot of Of our Software here What did I put it
Starting point is 01:18:54 And I was like Why is this such a long word that just basically says what you're using to talk on the podcast. Yeah. Look at that. It's so long. How do you pronounce that? It's copferra microphone, which translates to headset microphone, which is actually the same length about.
Starting point is 01:19:16 Nah, I see. It looks longer. For some reason, German words look like they're like three times as long than they actually are. It's scary to look at. That's longer than my last name Yeah, it's actually also longer than my last name Because my last name is only four characters Loves
Starting point is 01:19:35 That's five letters though No, no S Where did the S come from All right, moving on Alan wants to know who has the better memes N6T US or NXT DE Ooh Deutsche
Starting point is 01:19:54 Deutschland right Yeah Deutsche Yeah, look at me go, I'm learning stuff. Yes. Well, I have, I don't know if you can like wait, like say who has better memes, but I have pretty decent ones and I sometimes scroll through Twitter and see US memes and almost spit out my energy drink or something. So. Spitting energy drink?
Starting point is 01:20:23 Yeah. What kind? I have like My fiance just went to Luxembourg two days ago and bought energy because it's really cheap over there and I have four different
Starting point is 01:20:35 kinds of monster here right now So Just quick second You're going to Google Luxembourg No I am making a poll It doesn't mean it's not popping up There we go
Starting point is 01:20:56 Perfect Now people can vote and question NZXC channel who has the better memes NXXXE, let's go guys That's unfair
Starting point is 01:21:05 because my community is so much smaller I mean if your memes are better right than the win I voted for Kat me too actually I don't believe in us
Starting point is 01:21:19 well I only have like 5.5,000 followers and you have like 850,000 and people from US won't understand my memes because they're German, but what else. It's pretty easy. Just give away computers, and you'll get all the followers you want.
Starting point is 01:21:37 Well, I'm just giving away computers. Balchor Wolf wants to know which Lion King character is the best. Which Lion King character? Oh, that's a tough one. But I actually like COVID the most, because the second Lion King, is better than the first Lion King That is 100% wrong And we're moving on because I don't want to get angry at you
Starting point is 01:22:07 Oh Everybody knows that the original Disney movies The first ones are obviously the best Yeah usually Any like direct the DVD or directed VHS sequel is garbage Usually they are but 99.99.99 a.k.a. 100% of the time it is bad
Starting point is 01:22:28 except for Lion King too. Yeah. Have you seen it? I refuse to see it because I know it's not good. Well, it is better than the first one. It's like if you see, if you see like a bucket of trash on the floor and you walk by it, you just assume this trash is bad. You don't go, let me try it real quick just in case it's not bad.
Starting point is 01:22:56 You pretty much know it's bad. That's where I stand on Linking 2 and direct to DVD, whatever, sequels. Yeah. Then you can't judge because you haven't seen it. I don't need to judge. I see trash. I call trash. End of story.
Starting point is 01:23:17 Pencil wants to know. What's your favorite food? What's my favorite food? Okay. What's your favorite food? Get a little aggressive here. Just going to move on before we'll like. start hating each other, right?
Starting point is 01:23:32 Impossible. No, no, it's not going to happen. So my favorite food. I really like spaghetti with cabanara sauce. I don't know if you know that. Cabernara sauce. Yeah, it's like Italian. So you have like, you take spaghetti.
Starting point is 01:23:52 And no, no, no, no, no. No. No. Sorry, go on. So you cook spaghetti and you put them into a pen with like little bacon, little bacon pieces and garlic. And then you, yeah, what Ellen just posted, then you pour egg over it and parmesan cheese. And it's really delicious. I love it.
Starting point is 01:24:22 Yeah, the real cabanara. Not the, not the, some people do it like with cream sauce or something. something like that, but that's not how it's supposed to go. You learn something new every single day? Well, that's a third thing I taught you today. I'm going to keep a list down of things that I'm learning during the podcast. Yeah, probably. We make a list of all the things I didn't know.
Starting point is 01:24:53 And we're going to sell it as a best-selling book. What? Yeah. Let's see here. I'm looking for some other questions. Um, we don't talk about consoles. Do you like Nintendo? Kat, are you a big Nintendo fan?
Starting point is 01:25:08 I actually just got a switch some days ago. Oh, yeah, huh? Because my- Animal Crossing, right? Yeah, my fiancé was like, oh, you've been working so hard on that launch. Let me get you Animal Crossing Switch. And, um... That's very sweet.
Starting point is 01:25:24 Yeah, that's... He's a keeper. Totally. And, um... And I just started playing Animal Crossing, but I'm not so much of like, I never were much into this like Mario Card or something like that. I didn't play that a lot. Like sometimes at parties or like when you meet up with people playing Mario Card for fun, but I don't like just sit in my room playing Mario Card. Next time I'm just at me. And you're going to play with me?
Starting point is 01:26:02 I love Mario Kart. I think we're starting to play it again, right? In the Slack channel. There's a Slack channel for... I don't know. I don't go in that channel anymore. I know. I think, like, no one's talking about Animal Crossing anymore.
Starting point is 01:26:21 They're talking like Pokemon or something. I don't know what... It's just... It's just... It's a Tag bot with his... Prices. Yeah. Every day...
Starting point is 01:26:31 Talks more. Every day. 12 and 3 p.m. It's actually 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. because the turn-up prices change at 12 p.m. so in the morning and then once in the afternoon right before lunch. Just in case, you know. Yeah, I didn't get to the point in the game where this is interesting for me.
Starting point is 01:26:56 Because I don't get any turn-ups yet. Yeah. The turnip market is a is a fickle beast. I think the way you're really supposed to play, to be honest, is to play with other people because there have been weeks for like I get, I get like no, no good deals on turnips. And then like one of our, you know, one of our coworkers has like, oh, hey, by the way, mine are $400 a turnip or bells of turnips. I'm like, oh, okay, well, now I'm a millionaire. So that's pretty much how I went.
Starting point is 01:27:25 I was really broke. And then I went from being broke to having like 10 million bells. Now I have to worry about anything anymore. Yeah, I have like actually, the funny thing about it, in English they're called bells, but in German they call Stianis, like little stars. Oh, it's actually a cuter name, I think. Yeah. To be honest. I like it.
Starting point is 01:27:49 Yeah, I'm in depth. I'm in debt with Tom Nuke. It's okay. You'll quickly dig yourself out of debt soon enough, only to get wrapped up in more debt. Such is the way of the world. Yeah. I think that's a, that's a, oh, here's a good question, actually, from pencil. Last one.
Starting point is 01:28:15 What do you think about the Netherlands channel being gone? Well. So I can speak on that a little bit. So obviously it's sad to take things away, right? Having worked in game development and community management for video games, the last thing you ever want to do is take something. away from a community, right? But sometimes it has to be done if you can no longer maintain it at like a level of quality
Starting point is 01:28:42 that you expect. And especially on this server, I would say, right, we have a really high bar of quality in terms of like how we want servers to be run, moderation and stuff like that, right? And if we feel like we can't reliably like moderate a channel, not to say that there are problems one way or the other, but like, you know, if we feel like we can't moderate something, we're not going to have it on the server, right? Because our number one goal is to make sure the community is having fun, everyone's safe, everyone's being respectful, right?
Starting point is 01:29:12 It's our golden rules, right? It's help each other be nice and have fun, right? That's pretty much that. Do you have any other thoughts on that, Kat? Yeah, yeah, I know what you mean. I really like the Dutch community and the guys are like all very nice and everything. But with like some changes and everything, it was just, it got harder to moderate. I know exactly what you mean, what you said.
Starting point is 01:29:46 And it's very important because that's what our community is about, like being, it's just like a wholesome bunch of people being nice to each other. And I love it. And we want to keep it that way, right? Yep. Pencil, I heard it was because Merv the Mod is busy at the moment. She will come back. I heard.
Starting point is 01:30:03 It's never safe to assume things Just check back soon for more info On if and when that channel will come back We hope it does right We hope you have channels for every for every region You know at the same time We don't want to you know Take away from the main channels right
Starting point is 01:30:21 People love to make jokes about dead chat It's like no one type something for two seconds And all of a sudden the chat's dead Or stuff like that So yeah you know We love Merv. We miss Merv. Merv is an amazing person, and she's a great community member.
Starting point is 01:30:38 And be nice or I will be mean to you. To her. All right. Other than that, yeah, do you have anything else? Ivan or Kat? No. No. I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:30:53 Yeah. Awesome. So community roundup time. And this is, I actually have a lot of news this week, I think. So I'm going to get through this real quickly. Number one, game nights and karaoke is still ongoing. So we're still having moderators host game nights.
Starting point is 01:31:11 I think last week I did Destiny. It was pretty cool. We didn't get a whole lot of people, but we had a lot of fun with it. So I think that was really cool. Did some Destiny PVP. Maybe we'll do some other stuff. I believe Caro did want to do Scribble this weekend. So look out for that and hopefully have some of the people host some other things.
Starting point is 01:31:30 Karaoke as well when we do them, that takes a little bit more time. time to set up, I would say. If you guys do scribble, I'll play. Oh, yeah? Yeah. All right. Join Caro Saturday at 10 a.m. That's what she hosts.
Starting point is 01:31:42 Oh, wait, I can't this Saturday. Celebrating Father's Day. That's Poppy's Day. Oh, wait, is it really? Shoot. Father's Day is this weekend. What way do you have other Father's Day than we do? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:56 It's Sunday over here. Our Father's Day was like, I think, two or three weeks ago. Yeah, ours is, uh, what did you guys get me for Father's Day? Uh, I got you a good tweet. Same though. Same. I've been waiting for that my whole life.
Starting point is 01:32:20 All right. Also, congratulations to set up with a week winner again to Lucas for winning with his, uh, with his room, room setup. Yeah, back to back. And same with Kelly. Killy also went back to back as well. Um, I believe it was back to back on the wallpaper of the week. So GGs, guys, good job on that.
Starting point is 01:32:37 Should to give other people a chance, huh? Come on. Design contest number six has started. So that's super exciting. You know, we got a new design contest. We didn't do one last month because we, you know, got bogged down with all the stuff going on here at the company, but it's back. Just quick reminder on the rules, guys.
Starting point is 01:32:56 Make sure that the stuff you're using is something that you created yourself. We explain it more in the info and in the rules and the TOS, but obviously the reason why we have the, exactly right, speaking back-to-back, Nibbler winning design contests, the reason why we're restrictive on this contest in particular is because we do use the winning art
Starting point is 01:33:16 for things like wallpaper showcases on our Twitter. We make stickers out of them. We might use them to promote the podcast. So, you know, we don't want to run into issues with liability with, you know, like if you use, I don't know,
Starting point is 01:33:28 art from another company, and then they come to saying, hey, why are you tweeting about our art, right? So, you know, the wallpapers we really only use for the server and the podcast and no one really cares about that. But for the stickers and stuff, since we're making things out of them, we just try to be safe for ourselves. And also want to encourage more unique art that's like, you know, not like a regular wallpaper, if that makes sense. It does not, but okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:59 Yeah, if you got any questions, let us know. And then another big news is we updated the reward in shipping forms. So we've been pinging you guys about this. We're going to ping you again about it to make sure everyone does it because we have a lot of people on there in the server. But we change the way that we're doing the rewards. Ivan, do you want to speak about that a little bit? Yeah. So, you know, this server has been around for a long time.
Starting point is 01:34:24 The NZXT Club, though, the rewards program has been in place since October 2018. And since then, we've been trying to make things a lot faster and smoother little by little. So, for example, when we first started shipping out rewards, some of the older members here in the server might remember that I actually used to sign like every postcard that went out. I used to like physically, you know, stuff the envelopes and lick a stamp and all this stuff. Because it started out very, very little, right? You know, first it was like a dozen packs of stickers and it became like 100, then a thousand. So little by little along the way we started changing the way we do things. So we started doing Google forms, getting people's shipping information that way,
Starting point is 01:35:18 getting them to give us Google Map links and things like that. But now, with the help of the data science team, shout out to Alec and Veroon. who are also in the server, they created a new form that it's gonna make everything a lot smoother and faster. So the way the form works, it's, you basically just fill this out once with your address, your Discord name, your shirt size, your headysize, et cetera. And as you rank up in the server,
Starting point is 01:35:53 you'll be getting your rewards shipped to you automatically without having to submit a new form or waiting a month. The rewards are going to be shipped now every single week. So you don't have to wait months anymore for that stuff. The only thing that's changing, at least for right now, that's, I guess, a negative of all this, is that I cannot look up tracking info at the moment. And that's something that people ask me for constantly, you know,
Starting point is 01:36:20 is like, where's the tracking info for my stickers or whatever? But that's also something that the data, team hopes to automate in the future. So when something ships to you, you just get the tracking info automatically emailed to you. But for now, I can't check it, unfortunately. But still, with that one negative, the positives definitely outweigh the cons, right? So it's all about just making the process simpler for you and us. So please fill out the form if you haven't already.
Starting point is 01:36:52 Thank you. So, yeah, we sold out already on our online store. But if you live in other parts of the world, you can still get one. So check nz60.com slash retailers. I don't know exactly which retailers have anything, so you have to check depending on where you live. But, yeah, there's still some out there, just not on our own store. They're all gone.
Starting point is 01:38:09 And for the people, oh, sorry, for the people that are scalping these on eBay, just know we'll take you down. Yes. No, you forgot one. You forgot the most important one of all. The free PC. Well, yeah, we're doing a PC giveaway at the moment. We're giving away an H-510 Elite with I-790K, RtX 2070 Super,
Starting point is 01:40:45 and a nice Kraken X-63 built in Munich in our warehouse. and we're going to raffle that out on July 1st. So make sure to get in there. And yeah, you can find the links on every social media and also in the Discord announcement channel. I guess I do have one more. Just want to remind people that it's Pride Month. So we have a Pride logo on our Discord server
Starting point is 01:41:28 and a pride wallpaper for you guys to show your support. Yeah, I was very happy to be on here, and I was enjoying this a lot. So thank you for having me. Hey there, everyone. So it seems like for whatever reason, we lost part of the end of the podcast there. So I just want to make sure that I get the last bits out here. Again, thank you to Kat for joining us. Thank you to everybody who tuned in.
Starting point is 01:41:56 And remember to tune to next week at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time of the official NZE. Discord server and follow at NZXT on all relevant social media. And don't forget to listen to previous episodes on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud. And also, if you would be so kind, leave us a review if you like what you hear, and even if you don't. And with that, hopefully this has been a seamless transition. Thank you very much. And we'll see you next time.
Starting point is 01:42:23 Bye.
