Starting point is 00:00:00 You know how the podcast goes. Hello, everyone, and welcome to episode 62 of the NZC Clubcast, the official podcast of the NXC community. This podcast is recorded live every Thursday at 10 a.m. Pacific Center time of the official NXC Discord server and is available to stream on demand on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud. So, strap on your Campton hat, your loks, and watch your back because you might get introduced to an amazing podcast. My name is Dennis and with me, as always is Ivan. What did you just say? I said, strap on your Compton, hat, your loks, and watch your back, because you get introduced to you. might get introduced to an amazing podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:25 I don't know if I was allowed to say smoked. Like, I mean, there's like nothing, no like negative. Again, no like server breaking connotations in there, but like I also didn't want to say it. So, you know. Kind of is. Anyway, just strap on my coffee instead. Strap on your Anaheim, your Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim hat and throw him in the garbage. Question for Denny.
Starting point is 00:01:53 How many times do you say that in front of the mirror before the podcast? I actually do zero prep before the podcast. I can't confess he does zero prep for the podcast despite me every single day of the week. I think about it. I ask every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday about the podcast. And then I never know what's going on until like five minutes before the podcast. Like I'm literally like right now editing the podcast outline for Dennis, adding links to it. exactly uh today's special guest is none other than nzxte's frito andy from the marketing team
Starting point is 00:02:29 hey andy up this is your what time on the podcast fifth or six if they're six is really once you go beyond three you lose count i saw it was like four or something there's no way it was like five or six uh i think there was three in the office uh this is my fifth one remote three in the office Three in the office. And yeah, maybe or two. I don't know. Something like that, right? Who remembers these days?
Starting point is 00:03:00 I don't even know what day is. Like, what is in office? Yeah. What's an office? What's a job? What is a podcast? What is our life right now? I mean, sort of.
Starting point is 00:03:10 What is my life? How you been, Andy? How's everything? We haven't had like an update from Andy in a little bit. What's new, dude? What's changed for you? I mean, not a whole lot. Just, you know, just working.
Starting point is 00:03:27 We got through the N7Z490 launch, and I was pleased of how that went. But personally, I've just been playing games. What? You said pleased. Pleased. Pleased in what way? What makes a pleasing launch for you? Well, the reviews were pretty good for it.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Favorable, right? You know, we have generally pretty favorable. They posted their reviews in a timely manner, a majority of the outlets that I've sent product to. So, you know, that's just a win. That's always good. When a plan comes nicely together. Just like the A team, right?
Starting point is 00:04:15 Exactly. So for those who don't know, Andy works on the, Well, he's on the marketing team, but specifically he works in public relations PR. So his job, well, I mean, if he doesn't give us a quick outline, Andy, of like what you do day to day, what does a PR person at a hardware manufacturer company do? I have various tasks and duties. If people get that reference, good for you. I essentially just deal with media relations, you know, whether like getting them
Starting point is 00:04:53 to cover our announcements, sending the product, helping them with the product, they have issues, you know, planning events and showing off demos if that ever happens again. It will happen again. But, you know, when events are a thing, and just helping out in general with the marketing team with any sort of thing. Also, I talk to the product teams a lot and give them feedback about, You also give Dennis and me a meme material. He does. I mean, I just give you meme material by existing. That is true.
Starting point is 00:05:31 I think Ivan said that Andy is like the funniest person at the office or guess at the company. And he's probably like the one person who can take our job, right? Andy is the only person at NZXT who can take our jobs. I don't think I could, man You could because I feel like you're definitely funnier than Dennis and myself
Starting point is 00:06:01 You just don't know it yet I don't know What makes me beautiful Oh, that's the case Sorry I was going through some of the questions here in the chat Eddie just has like a bunch of one-liners He does He definitely does
Starting point is 00:06:16 Remember when he first started working at NZXT he sat like next to me and he would just say like the most random things and I would just tell him to tweet it like well that's a tweet that's a tweet that's a tweet that's a tweet and I think I'm pretty sure I've tweeted a couple of things Andy has said well I'm glad to ghost write you just full of one-liners man Andy is the like the the the what do you call it he's the OVO to our Drake right we just take his good stuff and then you put it out as like a banger. Andy's the Drake you get from from Wish.com.
Starting point is 00:06:57 He's Drake Wish. I didn't think I would get a Drake comparison today, but here we are. There's our favorite Andy photo. Andy, can you explain what's happening in this photo of you in the podcast channel on the Discord? Like, why is your hand in my mouth? Yeah. So that was taken a long time ago.
Starting point is 00:07:20 I want to say I was in. college. Then I was at Fat Burger, and they had this thing where if you eat like a triple cheeseburger, you get on what I call the wall of fatties. It's not what they called it, but that's what I called it. And I was just talking to my friends because like one of my gifts slash curses is I can eat and drink extremely fast. true. Like I could eat like a sandwich, like a like a normal, normal loafed bread sandwich and probably like one or two bites. No, not one bite.
Starting point is 00:08:02 No, that's too much. Like like two and a half bites. So I was just demonstrating to my like we, I think I had eaten the fatty burger. He had the triple cheeseburger. And I was just demonstrating to my friends, my, I guess. biting capacity, chewing capacity. Or I think I was referencing the Simpsons, one of the two. Because I remember Bart.
Starting point is 00:08:30 What aren't you, though? I remember Bart did that once too, and that was part of the conversation. But yeah, that's essentially it. I think, well, fat, I don't know if this fat, that fat burger closed, but there was another fat burger, and I'm sure it closed too, but I was on that wall of fatty's as well. I've gone to lunch with Andy a few times And more than a few More than a few, you know
Starting point is 00:09:00 A lot of times And like I've never seen a human being Consume so much water While they eat food Like you'll You'll drink about a gallon of water Before and after your meal Yeah pretty much
Starting point is 00:09:16 Why do you drink so much water I just need to fuel man To get these one-liners You got to be hydrated. That's how I run. Yeah, I think like whenever I've gone to lunch with Andy, I'll like grab my food. I run the same time as he does and I'll sit down right to eat. And I'm like, I'm wrapping my sandwich and getting everything ready to go.
Starting point is 00:09:39 You know, grab my bag of chips and I'm dumping them over. And then I turn over and then I look at Andy and the sandwich is gone. His drink is gone. He's in trash. He's sitting there on his phone and start talking. I'm like, Andy, like, why don't you wait for me, do you like it makes it feel so weird to like eat by myself. but Andy's just staring at me. I think the only person that could probably keep up with Andy
Starting point is 00:09:57 in terms of eating fast is Johnny. He has ever had lunch with Johnny? Once, and I think I might have beaten him. This is also me trying to keep my legend alive. Johnny's a really fast eater. I think I ate faster than him. That's pretty fast. But, I mean, I wasn't timing it.
Starting point is 00:10:21 I don't know. Maybe I don't know. Who knows? That's so long ago. Johnny versus Andy eating contest, hot dog eating contest. I would do that. I would do that. I was at Joe's Crab Shack once, if you guys know what Joe's Crab Shack is.
Starting point is 00:10:41 And, well, I had a friend who worked there, and he would give us, like, 50% off. So, like, I would get, like, the lobster feast with, like, lobster crab and everything. but they had an eating contest for like cake and it was like you had to eat it with your hands behind your back and like I just destroyed the competition like I was just basically sitting there like okay you guys why are you taking so long like I did it in like two bites
Starting point is 00:11:10 that is uh I don't know if that's like something you should be proud of but I'm glad you told us this story Andy yeah I mean Joe Scrapshack All right Annie I have a quick question is Something that I mean to have a conversation with you for a while, and I haven't had a chance because we've been so busy. So prepare yourself, right, guys. Everyone listening to know get ready.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Real quick, if you guys have questions, ask them in the chat. If you want to send us a question via email, please send us an email, Clubcaste.n.com. I'm disappointed in the number of emails we're getting. Please send more. I don't care what the question is.
Starting point is 00:11:43 We'll answer it live because we don't have that many. So literally, it's like 100% chance of getting your question answered. I can tell you why there's not many. Why, Ivan? Who emails? You should just, well, first of all, who emails? but you should just make a tweet or we tell people to email
Starting point is 00:11:57 email the podcast or just reply to this tweet like just streamline the process Andy get out of here yeah totally like you can do your job I see exactly okay okay
Starting point is 00:12:13 Andy are you ready yes what is your opinion on Steve in Smash Brothers. Oh, man. Minecraft and Smash Bros. Hot takes.
Starting point is 00:12:31 I get it. I get it. I mean, Minecraft is literally like the most, one of the most, if not the most popular game. It's probably a top five,
Starting point is 00:12:42 maybe even top three game of all time in terms of sales. It has enormous staging power. Literally, they just haven't released Minecraft too
Starting point is 00:12:53 in the game's like, I was in college when it was in beta. So, and it's literally on every single platform. And I get why they would want to do it. And also, since I thought of this conspiracy theory in my head. Oh, God, here again. You know, like, since Nintendo probably wanted Banjo and Smash,
Starting point is 00:13:22 guess who owns both Minecraft? and rare who owns Banjo Cazooey. Elon Musk. Microsoft. Oh. Okay. Both. So I don't know if there's any truth to this, but maybe as a condition to get banjo in,
Starting point is 00:13:40 Microsoft kind of shoehorned Steve in there. There's no basis of, this is just, you know, tinfoil hat. so um because like i remember it like in the direct sacri i didn't watch it but i saw like the like a screen cap of a quote he basically said like the higher-ups forced him to put him in the game um so there's that so that's like i don't know very you know conspiracy theory but i mean i'm not it's just whatever like i'll use him uh like once or twice like I'm glad it's not
Starting point is 00:14:28 another soul like fire emblem re-skin even though like there is I think words dude there's a lot of fire emblem fans out here who would say that none of them are they're like fire emblem and they're all unique and they all deserve to be in smash
Starting point is 00:14:45 brothers I mean I'm like I'm not anti fire emblem in smash like I like fire emblem and I like yeah I get it Um, but it is very overrepresented in smash. Like when you don't have like freaking Toad in Smash, you don't have Waluigi in Smash. Um, I would think like Captain Toad would be an amazing character for Smash.
Starting point is 00:15:09 What would Toad do though? Like, to be honest. Huh? What would Toad do in Smash? Like, Toad doesn't have any, any powers whatsoever other than walking and yelling, right? And making weird noises. Toad, like, in like, Super Mario 2, the best Mario game ever. no comment Ivan you're wrong so I just I thought that I thought that would get a
Starting point is 00:15:35 I like to I refuse to engage with wrong comment okay all right I'll I'll take that
Starting point is 00:15:46 um like Toad was strong so he was like very strong and I think that was it um but I don't know where's going with it.
Starting point is 00:15:57 If they make a Minecraft Amoe, like a Steve Amoe, will you buy them? If it's a Smash Amoebo, I'm going to buy it. Like, it could be the dumbest character on the planet, and I'll buy it. Like, I just have to complete my Smash collection. Actually, where was that picture? Someone posted on Slack of your
Starting point is 00:16:19 Amoe collection at the old office. It was Vivian. Yeah, Vivian posted. I might have been in the random channel or the smash. Yeah, I got it. Those are all the Mario Kart Amibo, because I would just have them
Starting point is 00:16:31 and people, like, who would want the Mario Kart skins in Mario Kart 8 Unlocked. I like this picture is that all the amoebo are facing the wrong way. When you're all facing away from you? Like, they don't even want to look at you. They're ashamed to be on your desk, and...
Starting point is 00:16:50 You know it thriving chaos. Yeah. That's... We're nice. This is so similar. You moved a bit. You sat to the left of that and then behind. Behind two.
Starting point is 00:17:04 I don't remember. You were near the door for like a lot. Then went you in like a cube for like a week? Oh yeah, I left my spot by the door because I got tired of people going in and out of the warehouse through there. Like I was getting cold. There was a draft. I mean, I was guilty of that because I, you know. would go through that door to ship stuff
Starting point is 00:17:28 or like go the long way to the bathroom. Oh my God. I remember like going like since we were expanding so quickly and like sometimes you had to go to the bathroom at like the other side of the building because the other one was just
Starting point is 00:17:48 you know there's too many people in it. The capacity was low and the demand was high. Hey, working from home, I have the same amount of bathrooms as we did at the old office. One. Lull. Sorry about that. Just looking at some weird comments here.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Andy, question for you, PR-wise. What's like the hardest thing to get like a media person to do? So let's say we have a new product coming out, right? It's like the crack-in part two, right? you crack in and like it cools your car or something right what's like the the most difficult part of like a PR release or like a PR schedule process I think it's just getting people's attention that you haven't before I mean that you I have like relationships with a bunch of people slash outlets who like pretty much if it's I mean if I have something like a new
Starting point is 00:19:01 probably say a new crack in, they're more likely to cover it. But I think the hardest thing in general is if you're trying to approach it like a new outlet, especially a larger outlet since they get, you know, pitched by people like me all day long and their, you know, their inboxes are flooded. So getting people's attention, I think, is the hardest part that you don't know before. Like once you have an established- People's attention, Andy? you'd be surprised
Starting point is 00:19:31 um sometimes like once you have an established a relationship with someone and they know who you are and it also is good that if you can meet them in person because they definitely could put a name to a face
Starting point is 00:19:47 um so you know you just have a better relationship with them um but yeah that would be the hardest part I would say.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Yeah, it's interesting because, like, I don't even know how you get started in those relationships. Like, let's say you're like a new person who's like doing these, this, this job, right? How do you, how do you even like start that process of like building relationships? Do you just like span out of people? We've had relationships with the people you would think,
Starting point is 00:20:19 you know, since probably we started sending out reviews. We So you just kind of Pass the torch along To like But like also At some outlets There's a lot of turnover
Starting point is 00:20:39 Oh really Yeah So Like even in the time Like it's some outlets Like my point of contact Changes constantly Um
Starting point is 00:20:52 But But you just kind of go with a flow. I mean, if it's a new person, you're like, all right, cool. Nice to meet you, new person. And then you just go from there. So I guess it's like starting fresh almost, right, in a sense? Or maybe not.
Starting point is 00:21:08 I mean, I would have known. Yeah, sometimes. I wrote for like a blog for like a really small amount of time, like, oh, like a lot of years ago. And when we get like a bunch of press releases and like, so little bit surely like I started recognizing some of the places and like some of the names. So, you know, it's like I was still like, oh, hey, you know, Dan, thanks for this press release on this like, you know, $2 Nintendo Wii game that one's going to play. Thanks, right?
Starting point is 00:21:34 We'll write an article about it in like two seconds, a case copy and paste the press release. Andy read that article about the Nintendo Wii game that nobody would want to play. Was it him? Oh, no. Then he bought an amoe for it. Yeah. Well, amoebo's worn out in the Wii era. Push up my glasses.
Starting point is 00:21:53 is a Wii you thing. I actually have a question, Andy. So you come to us with like certain opportunities sometimes for like the podcast or for the community. Not to like just discuss the names because I definitely don't want to do that until like we have anything set. But like let's say let's say, you know, I am a developer for a Wii game, right? It's 2020 and I'm making like the last Wii game in the world. And I send an email to NZXT and say, hey, you know, Mr. PR person at NSXT, I want to work with you guys. how do you decide
Starting point is 00:22:22 where that information goes or who needs to be brought in on that conversation? Oh, it just depends on what they want. Like if it's a game dev, you know, like,
Starting point is 00:22:34 oh, this might be a great chance for the community because, you know, you could have them on the podcast. You know, they could talk about,
Starting point is 00:22:42 you know, their game because we like games if you don't know. Do we? Oh. Like, yeah, video games
Starting point is 00:22:50 are a big part of our company, you know. So it's like maybe like people in our server would like some games. I would definitely like some games. I'm down for games as long as I can get a copy and play like an hour of it and then go back to playing Hunt Showdown for like three hours.
Starting point is 00:23:12 Or play that game forever because it'll be the greatest game of all time. Right? Just imagine all like the amazing games we're like missing out on every single day because we don't have any Andy just like share this information with us. Exactly. I can't imagine, dude. I mean, I'm, you know, you just throughout your travels and stuff, you know, you meet people and, you know, exchange cards. And if there's an opportunity that, you know, makes sense for both of us, you know, we get the wheels turning.
Starting point is 00:23:42 How is, how has the job changed since COVID? Because, like, I know that you used to go to events, like, all the time. you were helping us set up a plan for the Landis Tech Expo 20, 2020, right? Before the COVID hit. Like, how was, how was like that whole part of the business changed for you? I mean, it's just not non-existent. It's just gone. Like, I think when I've had conversations with people is like, like, basically, like,
Starting point is 00:24:15 oh, are you going to go to CES before it got canceled? CS 2021 and they're like I don't know I don't know like I think no one wanted to be like the first person to say like we're going to be here and have an active booth but then they canceled it
Starting point is 00:24:29 but it's just it's like there's kind of like a like a sadness amongst people about it like because we would not like I'm probably the only person who's happy that there's no events events are double like
Starting point is 00:24:47 it depends on how involved we are event, if we have like a booth, then you're just essentially just working. The worst is when you have a booth, which is, yeah, like, you can't even enjoy the event. You're just there. Yeah, like, you're just, you're there before the event opens, and these events are like 10 hours long at, like, the minimum. Even more, man. Like, I remember, like, BlissCon, I would be there from, like, six in the morning to, like, nine at night. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Four days in a row. you're on your feet and I'm an extrovert. I'm an introvert so being around people is, you know, that's not how I get my energy. It's definitely more fun when you're not working and you just can go and like, for around. The happy medium
Starting point is 00:25:33 is if you are there for work, but you don't have um but you don't have a booth. Like being as a for work, you're lazy. You're not doing anything.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Well, like if, if if like the involvement there isn't intense. Like at Twitchcon, we had like, I was there to help, you know, look at our partner because we had a bunch of, um, systems being exhibited and, you know, just kind of being there to support,
Starting point is 00:26:05 you know, many of our great partners. Um, and, you know, I just had meetings with like some YouTubers that I, um, that I work with.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Um, and, you know, just getting to hang out with, you know, cool people. Yeah, we have Mr. Mushu Beef, our streaming channel expert right now. And he was saying that you guys were doing Pax East before everything went down. I think that you guys went like right, right before things shut down, right? I think about that a lot. Like, how crazy it was.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Like, like. There are people everywhere. And it, huh? It was a really busy event. I was looking at pictures and they were like half people in mass, half people not a mass, and like sitting at home. I didn't see any mass really, to be honest. Like I don't remember mass being a thing.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Like what I do remember, or at least how I approached it was I didn't shake people's hands, but like some people still did. And like I instinctually like did that. But there's the most amount of hand sanitizer I had ever seen. Like every booth Every single booth had hand sanitizer And like every like For example
Starting point is 00:27:30 This game called a fuser By harmonics that's coming out It's like a DJ Game that you can like create live mixes on the fly It's pretty cool Like every single Every single like PlayStation Not PlayStation but
Starting point is 00:27:48 Demo Station like whenever someone was done, a booth staffer would wipe it down with a chlorics wipe. Oh, jeez. Every single time. And there was no social distancing going on. Like at the Discord booth, God know.
Starting point is 00:28:07 In the Animal Crossing booth, it was just like a lot of people. I saw the photos of you of you, of you, um,ushu and a bee hanging out. And you guys are incredibly close. And I was like, man, y'all is transmitting all kinds of stuff now, huh? Yeah Spray. And then we went to,
Starting point is 00:28:23 Mush and I went to like a party. I think we went to a couple. But we went to one party and it was like a club-like atmosphere and they had like a dance floor or whatever. And it's just literally like wall-to-wall people. Like, it's like when you watch movies and stuff now like when they're like, let's say there's a concert scene. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:48 You just look at that and it's like, that's so weird. Like, why are people together? It's like, I mean, we just had like two big, like press announce, press events, like with the AMD and the Nvidia stuff. And, like, one was done in, like, some dude's kitchen. The other one was done, like, in like a stage, but there's no one there. Same with the Apple stuff, right? Like, all the Apple events are done, like, in wherever they have them,
Starting point is 00:29:11 around these giant stadiums or whatever these, like, giant, at Apple Park. Yeah, these, like, big auditoriums. Everyone's like, class. happen and they're cheering, right? And like, oh, heck yeah. You know, they even talk about this watch I worked on for like five years. Let's go, dude. And then now it's just like really silent. And they have weird transitions and stuff. And it's almost like watching like a,
Starting point is 00:29:29 someone's watching a slideshow. And to be honest, you know, Nintendo, maybe they knew it was going to happen like years before because they're like forget events. We're going to do directs. We're going to pre-record everything. We do it from like a studio. I think that's the way of the future, to be honest, because in a live event, so much can go wrong. and you know, like, you can have like a gaff on stage. But like, I think Apple just nails it out of the park with their,
Starting point is 00:29:55 what they've done post pre during or during COVID. Like, I mean, Apple has the money to do it. But like, their events are like very well produced. They, they don't drag on too long. And they don't like, go like, oh, we're going to bring up this app developer to show how the new iOS 14 reminds. feature works when, you know, when you're on a scooter. And then, you know, they have like the awkward play demo.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Yeah, yeah. Like, like, with the Apple Watch slash iPad Air event, like, it was just very tight, very clean. They didn't have a lot of the fluff. It was long. It was very long, yeah. But, I mean, these Apple events are, it was like, maybe it was roughly the same amount. but it's just more engaging. Like, yes, you don't get the crowd,
Starting point is 00:30:52 but honestly, like, if I was a company, I would never do a live keynote speech anymore, all digital focus. Do you think we're going to go back to them, like, ever? I'm sure someone will. Oh, I'm sure Apple will go back to them. Maybe not, who knows, but,
Starting point is 00:31:11 I mean, they're, I think their time is past. I mean, some company will do them, but I think just the majority of people are just going to move on. Because with having a pre-recorded stuff, you can control the message so much more. And if you have like a CEO who's not entirely charismatic, you can, you know, you have unlimited amount of takes. I feel like kind of being part of a CEO is having to be charismatic then, right? like if you're if you're going to be the kind of person who like is working at these big companies I feel like part of the part of like prerequisite is like not only can you lead a company but also can you like present to the world what your company is working on and like how amazing they are right because I would say yes to know I would say like Tim Cook um Tim Cook he's he's a fine speaker but I think he would be one of the first people to admit that he's not the most charismatic
Starting point is 00:32:12 speaker. And that's why if you notice in Apple press events, they've been more like committee focused since Steve died. Uh-huh. Because like Tim usually just says like, hey, guys, we're, you know, we're Apple. We're great. And then, you know, then the, like that. Huh?
Starting point is 00:32:34 I literally thought I was that like the Apple launch event with him. That was Tim Apple. Oh, geez. Who? Andy sounds like Tim Koo. basically but like then they they kind of pass it off to the
Starting point is 00:32:51 the basically the heads of the that product and they just do their spiel and they pass it on to other people to talk about stuff so it's it's more definitely committee based you know who's a who's a very good speaker and I think Annie would agree his very best friend long time friend
Starting point is 00:33:11 actually Lisa Sue from AMD. Andy, can you go a little bit into your personal relationship with Lisa Sue and why you guys are such good buddies? I saw her in Taipei at the Grand Hyatt. That means you're always. Yeah, at Computex 2019.
Starting point is 00:33:34 We had a suite at, like, so basically Compitex, there's like the main show floor, then there's like a shadow convention at the Hyatt. Where just like, it's scary. It's like people who don't want to have a booth on the main floor, but still want to be there. So they just essentially get hotel suite. CES does the same thing too.
Starting point is 00:33:59 But it's not centralized in one location, I believe. I've never been to CES, so I can't speak from that. But so at the one floor at the Grand Hyatt in Taipei It's just companies that run out suites Um And like there's some like steel series was there Um Viper
Starting point is 00:34:28 Perrin memory How was they were there When your first met Lisa was it cool? Was she nice to? Well I just I just saw her And she just walked by with their security details bro you should have walked up and said hi or something she like ran up and be like this elisa i'm such a big fan she had security detail and i'm not i mean like she's doing her thing i was doing my thing and she was
Starting point is 00:34:49 doing her thing you know we respected each other what thing were you doing standing there so you just stood and stared as you walk by and you're like well guess i'm not gonna say hi or anything no because she was um she was walking to their event because they had a they had something at the Hyatt. Lisa Sue and Andy Foo. Listen, Andy, right? As a charismatic leader, I truly believe that if you would have
Starting point is 00:35:17 flagged her down or like raise your hand like, yo, hey Lisa, real quick, I'm pretty sure she would walk by, shook your hand, gave you like, you know, a good like two, three minutes to, you know, have like a little conversation and then your life would have been better for it. Who knows, who knows what could have resulted from that relationship, Andy? But, you know,
Starting point is 00:35:33 in the moment, I did the calculations and I was fine with it. Like, I, I, like, I, like, I, like, I don't, I don't like bugging people, unprompted. You know, like, I very, very, very seldom go up to a person and go like, hey, I'm Andy. Like, maybe, I just, man, maybe, but. Just imagine. Like, in an event where I don't have to, I won't. And, you know, she was, she was working.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Like, also, I would flip it. Like, I don't want some random dude coming up and say, Hey, Lisa, nice to meet you. Like, I don't know, it's weird. Is that, is that how they would sound? Well, that, that's me. Like, hey, Dr. Sue, it's an honor to meet you. Like, I mean, I would be flattered that someone would, you know,
Starting point is 00:36:30 want to come up to me. But at the same time, it's just like, you know, I just like chilling in my own space. Like, you know. I don't I don't I don't I don't I don't like when the the riffraff comes sometimes you know sometimes you just you just got to this is the introvert speaking just got to chill I wouldn't know Andy because I'm a humble person and I give equal time to everybody who decides to me that's just the kind of guy that I am you know but yeah but the situation the situation did
Starting point is 00:37:01 not dictate a meet and greet if it was in a more like a a party setting? Sure. But this was just like essentially Andy on the street or in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt. Andy belongs to the streets. Is that what you're saying? I mean, I belong to everyone. You heard you hear first folks.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Andy belongs to us all. He's in our hearts. There's a little bit of... But don't talk to me if you see me on. Exactly. Yeah, but don't walk up to him. Hey, Andy, what's going on in McFadiers? No, I mean, you could, but I mean, just like, I don't know. It's just, it's just it's just awkward to me.
Starting point is 00:37:40 If I'm if I'm just chilling, I like to chill. And I won't, I won't interrupt someone's chill if they don't, like, you know, if they don't look like
Starting point is 00:37:52 they want to be interrupted. I agree with probably an Asian in the chat, and that should be our new Discord rules. Let people chill. If they're chilling, let them chill because they like to chill. Don't ruin our chill.
Starting point is 00:38:03 And also there were security guards too, so, like, I didn't really want to, really want to deal with that. It sounds, you know what it kind of sounds like, it kind of sounds like a kid's bot version of that Kendrick song, Don't Kill My Vibe, Don't Kill My Chill.
Starting point is 00:38:23 Hey dude, don't rule my chill. Don't rule my chill. I can feel your energy from two playgrounds away. I got my juice, I got my slim juice, right? I don't know what's happening anymore, but. I'm very happy with it. We should, we should, oh, oh, oh, I was about to say we should record that, but Andy, weren't you and Ivan going to start a band or something with, like, Sam or the Sam and I forget who else, Pat?
Starting point is 00:38:59 I mean, so literally, when I brought my bass for the last podcast, Patrick was like, let's jam. And I'm like, yes. And he goes, you know what? I'm going to bring all my, my, like, guitar equipment. and I'm going to like tune up your guitar and like you know polish it switch out the strings like you know
Starting point is 00:39:20 give it like a good a good a good a good cleanup tune up then COVID happened I didn't even have my bass for like months
Starting point is 00:39:33 because because you left it in the podcast room I left in the podcast room then we started working from home because I was also waiting on Patrick because it's like literally the week we stopped working at the office was when he was going to
Starting point is 00:39:49 like tune up my guitar or bass bass bass guitar you see we have Ivan on acoustic Andy on bass probably on electric I think Sam's in there too right I think Sam can play guitar too right sad Sam
Starting point is 00:40:09 We need a drummer Who would be the best drummer at NXT What do you think? Which which NZXT NXX team. I would want to have a female drummer. I would say Rana. I agree.
Starting point is 00:40:23 They have one of magic. Rina could definitely slap the skins. Slap the skins. I've never, but like Rana has more of a, like a chill vibe. I can see her maybe like on keyboards. She would be a good basis.
Starting point is 00:40:38 And like, because like, I can see her drums too. Like. No, like keyboard. keyboards would be Mary. No,
Starting point is 00:40:50 lull. Because she's into keyboards. That's a good one. I like it. Vega, Josh Began, chat is saying that he can do cowbell. So we can have him on Cal Bell. You need... Vega, I think,
Starting point is 00:41:04 he would, he has a drummer vibe. We need a second band that's all bald NZXT members or like close to like skin hair NZXT members, right? So it'd be like, Vega. It'd be Sergio. Yeah, Sergio.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Who else is included in that? Chin. The gin, right. The BGC, the bald guy club. I forget who else would be in there. Who else is bald in the company? They need to get in on this. I think that's it.
Starting point is 00:41:36 I would shave my head if it meant that could be in a band. I feel like there's like one and two dudes in the warehouse who probably have a shaved head. and I think they'll be a great fit for that band. I do wear a toupee, so I don't know if that counts. Yeah, I do too, actually. Believe it or not. I'm trying to think who else is like bald. Who would be in there.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Yeah, that'll be me if I was bald. Life was never the same. That's the... Let me pull up an album cover. Have you ever seen the Seinfeld episode where Elaine was dating someone and he was bald, but he was bald by choice
Starting point is 00:42:18 because he was a swimmer, so he shaved his head. And then Elaine said, like, saw his driver's license photo and was like, hey, like, I could be dating that head of hair? Like, could you grow it out? And then he's like, oh, okay. And then when he, like, his hair started growing back, he realized he was going bald and got really depressed. Oh, geez. So they had George come in and, like, examine the damage. So he was just like, yeah, it's like nice horseshoe pattern.
Starting point is 00:42:47 and he goes, you know what, I think you got three to five years. And then he's like, are you serious? And he's like, yeah. He's like, what should I do? And George goes, live. Thank you, Andy. Follow us on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud for more. Andy reciting.
Starting point is 00:43:12 Seinfeld and Simpsons. It's premium content, guys. To be honest, you really should be charging for this stuff. It's a go to Netflix. for Hulu. Yeah, exactly, yeah. This is like at least a Disney Plus like $5 a month subscription type beat. So you all should feel pretty happy that you're getting it for free, you know?
Starting point is 00:43:30 Just saying, I mean, I'm just keeping it real here, folks. Keeping it real. Andy, do you have some time for some community questions? I always have time for community questions. Okay, here's the first question which I thought was a funny question because I don't know why they would ask this question, but I think it's great. What does Andy like and dislike about the N60 community? I know the answer already. A very tight-knit community.
Starting point is 00:43:54 You know, like, it's always active. And, you know, very good vibe that we all, you all have cultivated within the server. I mean, it's not really much to dislike, to be honest. Got them. Like, every community has its problems. But, I mean, for the most part, I think we have a generally positive community. There you go. Great.
Starting point is 00:44:21 next question let me check the amount of people we've banned next question from Alan was there any internal meeting about not releasing the 470 just to avoid the AMD board questions so if you don't know
Starting point is 00:44:35 Andy every time we talk about anything Intel motherboard related people always ask where's the AMD where's the AMD umd? No like I no
Starting point is 00:44:48 exactly if you guys want AMD boards by the Intel one so we know we're doing a good job. It's funny because I know that if we only made AMD boards, people would be like telling us, you guys should make Intel boards. It would like, I was like in the consumers. No, no, what we do, people want the opposite.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Oh, for sure. I mean, because CPUs has a, you know, since there's two companies, there's a fanboy culture around them. So the AMD fanboys, you know, want an AMD board. but you know in the Intel fan boys if you like you said
Starting point is 00:45:25 if exclusively AMD like why do we have an Intel one like yeah I mean you can never win our board does support AMD Crossfire though
Starting point is 00:45:34 it does I thought that was interesting I forgot to like crossfire and like SLI was like a thing like I almost never hear no one talking about it it's basically dead it's useless
Starting point is 00:45:45 like there's no point to do it you get worse performance I think I agree that they got Crossfire does sound cooler though SLA is like what's that but Crossfire sounds sounds dope it sounds like that um what's that game uh
Starting point is 00:45:59 there's a board game called Crossfire now you guys remember that TV show was the TV show it was like on CNN um it was like a talk show I think it was like one of the first shows where they had like people from different political persuasions talking on a desk
Starting point is 00:46:17 at a desk okay I think I had the commercial pulled up Give me a second here. I think this works. Is this it? The ultimate challenge. Crossfire. Based on the board.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Cross fire. I guess I'm not going to commercial all the time. It's basically like multi-player pinball, essentially. Actually, it's funny you mentioned this because I was at Target the other day. And they just re-released this thing. and I was telling my wife, I really wanted to get one of these. I always wanted them when I was a kid.
Starting point is 00:46:56 You can buy them again. They're on sale. Speaking of board games, actually, I just picked up the Minecraft board game. It's called Biomes and Builders. It's actually a really good board game. Like,
Starting point is 00:47:07 like, if it didn't have the, the Minecraft IP attached to it, it's still, like, a really fun game. It's really cool. Highly recommended. I think it started, like, at 60 bucks,
Starting point is 00:47:18 and people were, like, not happy with that, but it's, like, 30 bucks now or something. So if you guys want a good Minecraft board game, like it's actually super fun. You could then wash it off with a round, Steve versus Fox.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Exactly. Smash. Yeah. Steve versus Cloud, the matchup we all wanted to see. You know, it's actually funny. Like every time I go to Target to buy groceries or something
Starting point is 00:47:44 or like to buy just stuff for the, for the house, I always end up with one extra Minecraft like item. So like we just picked up these Minecraft Jackalentern coffee mugs that are square, square coffee mugs. And they're really great. They hold a lot of coffee.
Starting point is 00:48:01 So like I think of maybe do... Did you buy it for the capacity or for the... Both. Okay. I bought it for both, yeah. Because it look cool. And because they're square and there's like a little, you know,
Starting point is 00:48:16 like circular kind of almost like protrusion on the bottom of the of the of the of the of the mug they stack together really really well so you can have like 20 of them stack them up I think and like you won't have any problems just saying you guys and I hit over to to target and grab some Minecraft uh license you have the target red card I don't you know so that's a funny thing my mom actually works at Target and she's been there for a long time and she's like I think like one like the best employees in the store like she's always getting like gift card and stuff for like just not sucking at her job which apparently is really hard to do when you work in retail, which I understand, right? Like, you know, just retail's not fun.
Starting point is 00:48:54 So, you know, the amount of effort that goes in. Especially now. Yeah, and I dude, oh my God. Yeah, the story she tells me. Yeah, but she's, she's like all up on the, she's all up on the target like ecosystem essentially, right? And I just like, I forget how the red card worked in the past, but it's like, you can only get the discount if you, if you had cash and I never carry cash on me. So I just never use it. And since then, I just have been like very like left. of that that Target payment system ecosystem when you tie like a card to your debit and stuff it's really weird it's it's well it's just a debit card essentially and you I mean they have a credit card as well but is you get 5% off on all purchases like if if you're using a debit card and
Starting point is 00:49:39 you shop at Target a lot you're just leaving money on the table so I'm actually using a double cash rewards card uh through Citibank right now and basically the way it works is when you pay off you so when you make a purchase you get 1% back when you pay off your statement you get another 1% on whatever you buy so you get 2% basically for for paying your bills um so i'm on that right now so i'm not sure if like the 5% off is worth it i always say it is i mean if you're using a debit card well what's the thing it's a credit card so you know and like i'm i'm trying to make us that like the money i am spending is like it's going a little bit further than just like the dollar value right?
Starting point is 00:50:25 I would say like this is would be like just at Target. I mean, like you could use that for other purchases, but I mean, if you're, you know, like they'll show you how much you save and it, like if it adds up like big time.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Like my parents save like at least $100 a year just by using the red card. Even we like bought my dad an iPad. Pro from Target. That would make sense, yeah. 5% off that. I mean, Apple's, my mom's an educator. So there are educator discounts that I think are greater, but for whatever reason we didn't use it.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Because I think we also needed it fast. But, yeah, just 5% off. Make sure to subscribe guys on Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Spotify and SoundCloud for your time. Target-related conversations. This is stuff that you won't get just going at Target, you know? This is not... You would get it at the Target.
Starting point is 00:51:32 You get it from the checkout people. So that's a funny thing. They'll ask me if they have the card, and I just tell them no. And they go, okay. And then they just continue on with the purchase. Like, no one at Target has ever instructed or, like, has never educated me on the purpose of these cards, how much I can save and the method that it works. They just ask, do you have it?
Starting point is 00:51:51 And they go, no, I don't. I just have my credit card. card. Okay, great, thanks. Do you want some bags? Yes, please. And then I continue on the purchase and then go home. But then before I go home, I stop at the Starbucks to grab a coffee because, you know, that's the sign purpose of the Starbucks at the, of the targets, right? So you can stop for a minute. You want to know something interesting. In college, we had a speaker from Target, you know, come to our class. And they're saying, like, store layouts are like very methodically designed. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:23 And the one thing that they told us was, when you walk into a target, what is the first thing that you see? The dude standing in front with the hand sanitizer. Product-wise. Product-wise. You see like the bargain bin, like that. The seasonal stuff. Then beyond that? Clothing.
Starting point is 00:52:42 Beyond that, you see. It's close. Like. Checkout counters. No, you see snacks. The return section. That's what I see. Like the little customer service cubby.
Starting point is 00:52:53 The answer is women's clothes. Oh, okay. So, and the reason in most targets, they put women's clothes first, and they put it off to the left. Because the person say that women have a tendency to veer left, and they want them, the first thing to see is just closed. So they can, you know, browse by it. Is it like a biological thing? It's like women's left legs are shorter, so they're going to lean to the left a little bit more. No, it's a psychological thing.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Like, you know, like, oh, we put milk at the back of the store because that's the most important. Yeah, that makes sense right. Yeah, yeah. Common thing that people buy, so. You get to go to the very bad. Well, actually, I heard something that debunked that a bit because it's where the freezer section is.
Starting point is 00:53:42 But, like, with cereal boxes, like, the sugary stuff is placed on the ground because, or the lower stuff because that's where kids see it. Um, have you, have you seen the social dilemma yet, Andy? I like since the quarantine, I have not really watched anything new other than Bob's Berger's. That's funny. Like, that's all I watch. Like, I, like, I just don't have it in me to watch anything new. I just, I'm old and I just want to watch Bob's burgers. Like, I don't watch, I mean, I don't watch movies. Right. I just play games, watch baseball, and watch Bob's burgers.
Starting point is 00:54:23 Yeah. So basically the social dilemma is a documentary and it goes into like it talks, it talks to people from like Facebook, Instagram, I think like Twitter and some other places, Google and basically just like talks about like the evils of the algorithm, right? And like how much information they can process and like direct towards you. And like I mean, it's it's funny because like I guess the purpose was supposed to like, like scare me about how how manipulative social media is. is right and I'm just sitting there watching and like yeah like I know like that's what I do every
Starting point is 00:54:56 day like I know how the algorithm works or like I know how these companies are trying to make you stay on like TikTok and stay on Instagram and whatever right um but it was like that's that's that's that's kind of what what like you know what like these stores do right where they they they know that a certain type of person is going to do a certain type of thing through like a bunch of research so then they manipulate the store around you so that when you're in there you're more likely to do this thing or do that thing right that's like in caps exist right like you know there's like advertising spaces for whoever wants to have like a nice display at the end of nile so that when you're walking by you go oh hey check this out Minecraft mug and then you end up buying it yeah did you ever hear this story this was also when I was in college um it was about Target where they essentially there's this this girl who was pregnant and she was buying and she lived with her dad and she didn't tell you that her dad that she was pregnant, but she was buying
Starting point is 00:55:53 a bunch of baby stuff. So they started sending baby ads to the house, and the dad found out that she was pregnant through that Target ads. And then it'll kind of sparked a conversation about their data collection, and, like,
Starting point is 00:56:09 it's pretty intense. And it's also, like, what the rare ad card is for. Yeah, they send you coupons, basically the stuff you're buying. Like, on the Target app, like, when want to buy something, I'll look and is he like, oh, okay, I bought cheese it's three months ago. And it's like, do you want to buy this again?
Starting point is 00:56:30 I'm like, no, no. Yeah. Thank you for reminding me of that purchase. I've definitely watched the documentary. There's some parts in it where like it's kind of like, it's like a dramatized reenactment or something. But it's, it's pretty good. You know, like, if you don't know a lot about social media and like how it works,
Starting point is 00:56:48 they'll definitely make you rethink like how you use it. but I know like I'll get coupons and stuff in my emails for like things that I didn't used to you know they're like I used to buy and then like hey reminder my oh yeah I should go check this thing out real quick but I usually avoid using this coupons and whatnot just because I'm one because I'm lazy but also too because like I'll just like try to find it somewhere else you know we're also I have 5% off the target so oh so that dude go go get on that that is my coupon say that money bro I was that to save I haven't What's the weirdest advertisement you ever got?
Starting point is 00:57:30 Because I'll tell you mine right now. As you guys know, like W.D. Black is doing their like little, their little, I don't always say like that. They're doing their like event stream today, right? And like we've been talking about just like, you know, oh, you know, what are they going to do? I mean, Andy were talking about like before before the show, they're like showing some cool stuff off.
Starting point is 00:57:48 And like literally, I'm using Microsoft Edge right now for my wavelength, software so I can get like the music playing in the background. And there's a giant ad for W.D. Blacks event, which I thought was kind of cool. It's just like, I never use his browser except one time during the podcast. And I don't really use it in a way that like would let them know like what I'm about. But they somehow know that would be black's do the thing and I might be interested. Actually, I think I have something somewhat similar. So I recently wanted to get some kettlebells and I wanted to get these um what they call primal bells and it's these kettlebells that are like shaped like monkeys so it's like it starts like at a think a chimpanzee and he goes all the
Starting point is 00:58:38 way to like a gorilla like depending on the way but they were all sold out and I kept like trying to find places to to find them online and um I signed up for their like email notification and And they didn't come in stock forever. So I just, you know, whatever. I'm just going to buy like a regular kettle bill. I bought a regular kettle bill on Amazon. But now it's like every time I open up a website, I just see like these like monkey kettlebells like all over the place.
Starting point is 00:59:09 It's kind of funny. They're pretty cool. I like them. Why? They just look like monkeys. They're cool. I don't know. They even have like they even have zombie bells.
Starting point is 00:59:23 Yeah, they start at... They look expensive compared to regular kettlebells now. Oh, they're actually not... Dude, I paid more... I paid like $108 for a 36-pound kettlebell. And the chimp kettlebell that I wanted to get is $84. So it's...
Starting point is 00:59:42 They're not that expensive. Frosted and shot. Hey, Jamie, bring up that video of that chimp. Yeah. That's pretty much what I feel good. Yeah, I was wondering about it from Joe Rogan. Yeah, I also see the Onit ad on there, so I'm assuming... I bought some On It, Alpha Brain, not that long ago, actually.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Is your brain smarter now? Is it bigger? I don't know. You tell me. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if it works, but it's just... I don't know. I don't know if it works for now. I just... I like experimenting with things like that for some reason. I do not like experimenting with things that go inside my body because especially with like supplements. Like I haven't done research, but like I've read in like I've seen videos and stuff about like how there's that the whole market is like super unregulated. So like no one really knows what's going on there. And like there's no real testing for this stuff.
Starting point is 01:00:37 It's just they can essentially claim whatever they want on the box or on the package and you just like had to believe them essentially. Let's drink nitroflex. All these things sound scary too. I don't want to be on it. I don't want to drink Nitroflex. Like, I don't know what the heck that is. Yeah, I don't drink energy drinks. Oh, I do.
Starting point is 01:01:00 I did at E3 because I was, I took a lot from the, the, the, the, the bang booth. Oh, geez. Yeah, that was bad. That was, that was, that was fun. But, yeah, like, I, I try not to do supplements to just, eat food that's good for me. Like Jersey Mikes? I miss Jersie Mikes.
Starting point is 01:01:26 My baby. I miss Jersey Mikes. Those are good sandwiches. Yeah, I've been a few times. Like, they deliver. And the one near me, you know, just go on the app. 20 minutes later, you have a sandwich. Good to go.
Starting point is 01:01:46 That's my life these days. Jersey Mikes. That was like a great few place, right? I think it would go on Tuesdays now. It was like Jersey My Tuesdays or wasn't my? It was like, no. It was a double point Tuesday. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:01:59 Come down there, buddy. Short points. Come down. Short points, man. I, I, I, there's like one day that I went to Jersey Mikes like five days in a row. I remember you told us that multiple times, actually, that you've been to Jersey Mikes five times in a row one week. This week, I went to Hulal guys, like, a couple times. well guys inspired
Starting point is 01:02:26 like three times in a week so like my family got it and you know okay that was the first time then the next day I went to the office then I got it because Josh never had it
Starting point is 01:02:40 so I'm like oh you gotta have it so let's go then my family wanted it again and I was just like alright third times a time
Starting point is 01:02:54 a charm. And then? That's only three. You said five times a week, right? It was three. No, that was Jersey Mike. Okay, okay. Gotcha. Okay, okay. Gotcha. All right. Some more community questions here. Sing to the Hippos wants to know.
Starting point is 01:03:09 You're playing anime Breath of the Wild. And if you know what he's talking about, about Genshin Impact. If you haven't checked... No, I've been playing Red Dead Redemption and MLBee the show and Star Wars squadrons. Are you are you replicating the
Starting point is 01:03:23 Dodgers and Padres games that are happening right now? No, I have a save file for Road to the show that's been going on for at least three years, maybe four. I created an Andy who is a pitcher and I went up through the minors
Starting point is 01:03:48 and got to the majors and I'm like five, six years into my major league career. And I'm pretty dang good. I have a 98 rating in the game, or 97. And I just, I just play that. It's in a weird reality because the game had 2017 rosters with, like, with, and they just add like fake players in. so there's just one guy his name's
Starting point is 01:04:24 Casey Peoples and the names are bad and it's like and how they announce them is just very like will be like now coming up is Casey Peoples um yeah but um it's fun
Starting point is 01:04:41 um are you still playing super mega baseball? Not as much um I played with a friend the other day but like since I have the show I kind of just got on a show kick
Starting point is 01:05:01 I'll play that game in Burs where it's like I haven't played in a while and then I'll play for like a lot Right Like I also want to be a free agent And you can sign a contract And I want to move teams Because so I was on the Rangers
Starting point is 01:05:19 Then I complained to my agent Then I wanted to get traded So I got traded to the Brewers and I complained to my agent that I wanted to get traded. So I got traded to the Rockies. And I'm like, I definitely want to get traded. So I got traded to the Nationals. So, yeah, I'm pitching for the Nationals now.
Starting point is 01:05:42 Howdy, Andy? Two years. Thank you. I think it'll make the Hall of Fame, to be honest. I think it's going to happen. I think I can, actually. Just keep it up, man. What you do?
Starting point is 01:05:53 Actually, what you do? let us know, like, tweet it out, and then we'll like retweet it. Like, congratulations to our PR, PR, pure, what's your official title? AOLO fame? Associate PR manager. Yeah. Congratulations to our associate PR manager, Andy, for reaching the baseball Hall of Fame in MLB the show.
Starting point is 01:06:13 You know you could do it. It's also weird to. We celebrate this if it's like a real thing. It's also weird. The trade logic in the game is weird. Like, one time I was playing and, um, was when the Astros were in the National League. David Ortiz was on the Astros playing first base,
Starting point is 01:06:32 and that was just, like, really weird to see. I remember seeing like Derek Jeter got traded to the A's in a game, and it's like, that's just, if you know baseball, that you just, it's unheard of. As I don't say, for those who don't know, it's pretty egregious for someone like Derek Jeter to be on a team like that. So just, just like the Lakers trading LeBron to the Nils.
Starting point is 01:06:54 mix. It's like, okay, what? I would say it's more like, it's like Kobe going to like the timber wolves or something weird like that, right? I don't know. Some, some. Well, it's like Joe Montana going to the Kansas City Chiefs. There's like Tom Brady going to the box. Or it's like, it's like it's like shroud going to TSM or something, right? It's like if you're talking. Or mixer. Yeah. It's like, yeah. It's like ninja going to Knickser.
Starting point is 01:07:25 That's actually what it's like. Like, how much did you get paid? Why would you do this? The heck. Did you watch the game last night? It's like Michael Jordan playing baseball. That's a good one. I watched a little bit of it.
Starting point is 01:07:39 I saw Cody Billinger's catch. I saw that live? No, I saw that on Twitter. Yeah, I was, I was, I was screaming. Like, I was just chilling downstairs. pacing and I was just like yeah just but that last ending like I nearly like ripped my hair out like those pitches are sketch I don't know anything about baseball but I was watching like where those balls are going and I was like oh boy like that's that's that's that's pretty it's pretty
Starting point is 01:08:09 nuts if you're talking about Joe Kelly um Joe Kelly is the most confusing pitcher on the planet like I I such so like in 2013 ish so like in 2013 is He was on the Cardinals. He was a starting pitcher. Then the Dodgers and Cardinals were playing in the NLCS or DS, I forget. Then Joe Kelly throws like 100. So he threw 100 mile per hour fastball in Hanley Ramirez's ribs, which Hanley Ramirez at the time, like, he was like just absolutely destroying.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Like he was the best player on the Dodgers. He broke his ribs and like basically effectively tanked to the Dodgers' chances. from advancing. Then in 2018, he was on the Red Sox, and he's also, like, wildly inconsistent. But when the Red Sox were playing the Dodgers in the World Series, he was just absolutely dominant. Then he gets signed by the Dodgers
Starting point is 01:09:08 was, like, you know, very up and down last year, had that amazing moment trolling the Astros. But what I'm trying to say is, like, you don't know what you get with Joe Kelly. And he's like, he has, like, the most electric fastball you'll ever see. But he wasn't even throwing it. He was just throwing curveballs in the dirt.
Starting point is 01:09:24 And he was like, what are you doing, dude? Just get the dude out. And he, like, walked the bases loaded, then he got out of the jam. But it's just, he's just so frustrating. You're here first, folks. Death Ridge wants to know, I think this is this is for Andy probably, because he'll probably know this better than we would. Has Linus ever dropped any NXT products?
Starting point is 01:09:54 Not that I know of. All right, then. Next, are you excited about Zen 3, Andy? Yeah. I'm not going to get it, but I'm excited. Yeah, I think, you know, same thing. Like, anyone asks if anything else I like is coming out. Like, I usually just say, I am excited for more competition
Starting point is 01:10:11 and more cool products to enter the market, so more people can enjoy them and we get cooler products in the future, right? Like, the more good things that come out, the better it is for everyone in the gaming space. It's always fun when a new product comes out, whether it's, like, from a major company, I mean, whether it's good or bad, you know, we'll see. or I'm talking about Zen 3, just products in general.
Starting point is 01:10:32 It's always fun seeing a new product being released and going through the whole process of testing and, you know, seeing what all the media outlets think of it. It's always fun. Would you replace your water with pre-workout to gain more Andypower, Andy? I am at peak Andy power, so I don't need more Andy power, because that wouldn't be a good thing, I would think. The world, I can only handle the amount of Andy that I have.
Starting point is 01:11:11 Any more Andy would just be too much. I agree. We don't need more Andy in the world. We have way too much already. Mr. Snowball would like to know, when working with creators, do you reach them or do they reach you? What's our process look like? Okay, both.
Starting point is 01:11:28 There we go. Easy peasy. Sparks wants to know, what qualifications is to take to get a career in NXT customer service or marketing teams? So I would say that's two completely different departments and two completely sets of like responsibilities and like experience of qualifications. And also depending on like the role, right? Like marketing team includes like Andy who does PR or our partnerships team who works like our influencers, business development who does partnerships with like, you know, like the AMD and bases and stuff like that and so on and so forth. And you know, we have like the community team who, you know, we do social media, community management, ambassadorship program, stuff like that.
Starting point is 01:12:04 And then customer service, you know, depends as well because they have like two different tiers of customer service. Like we have like, you know, people who handle like order inquiries and then those who handle like, you know, like deep troubleshooting issues. Like my crack and lights are blinking, but they're only going red in like the left direction. So that would be like a very specialized, you know, a specialized thing, right? So like if you want to know more about that, like community team stuff, you can you can ask either me or Ivan marketing team. Maybe I'll say handy. Or I guess it's Asimine Ivan, customer service teams, B works in customer service. You can ask her.
Starting point is 01:12:42 You have questions about what those qualifications look like. As for if they're in the UK at the moment, at the moment we, I don't think we do in the UK at the UK at the moment, but check out careers page, nz60.com slash careers. That website again is nzc.com slash careers. And you can find out what we got. I think. that's the best advice I've ever heard about it's not necessarily about us but about any industry you want to get into like know what role you want to do study for that role um you know get the relevant experience that you need to get that role but like with the industry you want to get into know everything about that industry like know every single thing you can about that industry like like if it's computers like always watch amd events or you know about the newest products.
Starting point is 01:13:34 I would actually kind of disagree. And so you don't need to know everything, but you need to know where to find that information, right? I think that's the big thing because you can't always know everything, but you can at least show that you have the ability to look stuff up if you need to, right? Or do your own research or find stuff out, especially if you're working like customer service, right? Because sometimes you might get a question that, like, you don't know the answer to,
Starting point is 01:13:56 but like you can probably find it somewhere, right? Or, yeah, exactly. You got to show you can learn from Mushu Beef, right? Like when I was working customer service And I was working like a computer repair At Staples Like 90% of the jobs is really easy Like you stick in a thumb drive
Starting point is 01:14:12 And then have the tools run But every now and then you get something That was like really wonky And you just have to start Googling And looking some stuff up I would say like everybody No matter how good you are Your job learns on the job, right?
Starting point is 01:14:22 That thanks for me Andy, Ivan, you know, everyone Yeah But you know obviously do your research right Don't go in knowing nothing He said I can learn You do get to show some level of knowledge and some level of knowledge and and proficiency. If not, you're not really going to do very well. Unless you're going for like a starting position, in which case, you know, then, you know, show you can learn.
Starting point is 01:14:47 Sorry, why? Just put yourself in the best position to succeed and go from there. There you go. Pro Angel's thesis wants to know, will you ever clean your cables at this office? The answer is no, because that office no longer exists as an. in ZeexT office. That was when we're back in the I-by-power office. Now we're in our own office with our own, our own mess-up
Starting point is 01:15:09 cables. I thrive. If, like, I, I, I'm not a person who needs to have order in my space. It's probably a good thing that I should, but like, I, it's not, we know. Like,
Starting point is 01:15:25 I, it doesn't, it doesn't bother me. Like, I know it bothers some people, but it, like, to me, it's just, It bothers me for sure. It definitely bothers when people are not organized, for sure. It's just how my brain works. Like, I'm disorganized or, or, or, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't how to say it.
Starting point is 01:15:52 I'm organized in my own way, and it works for me, and I've gotten this far in life. Death Rage wants to know, any plans of making an NZXT, RGB extended mouse pad with multiple lighting zones? There are none in the market yet. Not that I know, but now I'm making it. There's some in the market, I think. And I'm stealing your idea. Thanks for the credit, dude. That would be cool.
Starting point is 01:16:15 I mean, if we are making anything, and this goes with anything, including AMD boards or whatever, right? You'll know when we tell you if we're working on something. We usually don't reveal what we're working on until we're ready to announce it and hopefully ready to release it.
Starting point is 01:16:30 It's like the new motherboard. Vega wants to know, and this will be the last question because we've got to move on to announcements. Vega wants to know, how can I grow a mustache like Andy? Andy, how can you grow a mustache like you? Just got to think about it.
Starting point is 01:16:47 You know, just got to cultivate it. You have to give it. Get the manifest. Yeah, to teach it everything it knows about my face and then put it in the position to succeed and go consult a baseball god named Raleigh Fingers
Starting point is 01:17:03 who has the best mustache in the world. someone someone post a picture of Raleigh Fingers in the chat so you get so everyone knows what we're talking about. Okay, announcements. We have a couple of things that happen. So we're going to try to get through this as I was going to say as as awesomely as we can, but I have no idea what that actually means in context. So I'm going to say, we're going to get through this as best as we can. Just play some guitar riffs in the background.
Starting point is 01:17:26 Oh, that'd be sick. Number one, the N7 Z490 launch happened yesterday, yesterday being 107, 2020. So October 7th, 2020. It is our new motherboard. Just like Annie said, the reviews are looking pretty good. I'm actually very, very pleased with the reception. I think like no matter how well we think we do, right, we always like want to take other people's opinions and thoughts and feedback, right?
Starting point is 01:17:55 Yeah, yeah, so check it out. You know, it comes in Matt White, Matt Black. We'll link the page in the show notes and everything if you want to check it out. out, but it's a brand new Z490 motherboard for the new line of Intel processors. So, you know, let us know what you think. Let us know what you like or don't like. Do you see a lot of social media? That's usually where we'd grab a lot of our feedback.
Starting point is 01:18:17 Or, you know, tag me harder if you like. Second is, so the next two things are things that are ideas that were given to us by our admin B, so props to her for working on stuff when we should be doing it. Number one is the Pucci costume contest. So this one I think is pretty cool. It's something that we haven't done before, and I'm hoping it goes really well. I think it'll be great.
Starting point is 01:18:41 But what it is is this is a contest that we're opening only for the champions in the server, so the highest ranking members. And you guys are tasked with creating costumes for our one and only mascot Pucci. So you can check it out in the NZC Discord server in the club. That's N6T.g, sorry, discord.g. G slash NZXT.
Starting point is 01:19:03 And we have a couple of examples. are ready and basically just you know if you're a champion and if you received a poochie from our contest from our rewards you know give them a little costume posted in there and then you know we'll we'll give everyone who enters Nitro and the top three winners will win some neat gift cards and that is a hundred dollars team gift card for first $50 team gift card for second third $20 team gift card for the third and a special role for a little bit for all three you know just to flex them a little bit so yep there's there's my right there to
Starting point is 01:19:34 It's a little hat. It doesn't have to be crazy, you know. You don't have to make like a whole thing, right? But yeah, if you're a champ and you get your Pucci, you know, dress them up a little bit. All right. Next order business is Pucci Professors. So this is something, so I asked B if you wanted to hop on for like an after show at lunchtime. So I'll be told PMPST to answer some questions if you guys want.
Starting point is 01:20:00 But what Pucci's professors is is a TLDR. it is a way for us to highlight and celebrate our more knowledgeable members in the community. And that's in the hardware peripheral software streaming support, can feedback, and can beta feedback channels. And basically what we want is we want people who know stuff about these categories, who want to learn more and who want to basically be more of like a official or like recognized member for these things and to help out other new members. And the requirements, I don't think, are super crazy. I think they're pretty good if you guys.
Starting point is 01:20:40 You know, if you guys have thoughts, definitely let us know. Those requirements are foster community. Are you proficient in these respective channels? Can you assist users with respecting patients? Do you understand the value of personal preference versus performance, right? And the purpose of this program for those who are wondering is just to basically make our hardware channels a much easier place, to interact in for new and old users alike, right?
Starting point is 01:21:07 A good example was like, for example, myself, right? I never had an M.D2 drive until like just this year, right? So I literally went to a Harvard channel and I asked guys, hey, you guys in here, what's a good M.D., M.2, which should I buy? What's the difference between the SSD, M.2 and an NVMEDM. M.D.m.2. Now, stuff like that. And, you know, I got some really great answers. People were really nice and friendly.
Starting point is 01:21:28 They recommended some good stuff. And, you know, I picked the one they like the most. So that's basically what we want. We're starting right now only with NZC products so that we can see what we can do to make the program better. We obviously want to expand it to all products in all categories. Yeah, but we're starting small and we're working big, right? So if you guys want to apply, check out the Announceanceance channel,
Starting point is 01:21:53 and I think I've also linked it as well. But if you want to just know the link, it's nzxti.com. slash professors application and apply. Evan, do you have any comments on that? Any thoughts or did it hit it all? I'm dropping links, so check the pins. Hey, there you go, yeah, drop the links, check the pins. So yeah, if you guys' questions, you guys have questions,
Starting point is 01:22:17 hop into the podcast or the voice channel at 12 p.m. PST, and B will take her lunchtime to answer questions for you guys. Yeah, and I think that's, No, we got more. Moderator applications are still open, so please apply. N6TD.com slash moddaps. We're looking for a few friendly members who can be leaders during the EU times. Please and thank you.
Starting point is 01:22:44 Apply, apply, apply. We also are hosting a WD Black giveaway on our Twitter. And, you know, go to the link, check out the gleam, sign up for the giveaway, and you might get a cool brand new computer featuring some WD Black storage drives. And finally, we are hiring folks, nzixc.com slash careers. If you think you have what it takes, join the NCX team. T team.
Starting point is 01:23:14 Check it out, n60c.com slash careers. And I think I think I hit them all. What do you guys think? Out of 10, how did I do? Let me know. Was that too fast? Was it too slow? Do you want more?
Starting point is 01:23:27 We got three minutes. So I can, so I can keep. It's good. It's all good. As I. As I is. It's I. All right, guys.
Starting point is 01:23:38 With that, thank you for joining us, Andy. Once again. It's always fun. I agree. I like, you know, just chilling. You know, just talking, having fun. Yep. Don't forget, guys.
Starting point is 01:23:52 If you see Andy chilling, let him chill. Don't bother him. Don't be like Lisa Sue. And I won't bug you if you are chilling. Yeah, exactly. Just to start each other from the, from the, from the, just we respect each other from a distance. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:24:10 Social distance, wear a mask, be nice to each other. Be kind, right? Thank you to everybody who tuned in. Remember to tune in next week, everyone at 10 a.m, Pacific Standard Time with the official NZXC Discord server and follow at NZXT on all relevant social media.
