Starting point is 00:00:00 Is this thing on? Hello. Hi. How's it going? Are we all alive today? Are we doing good? Are we chilling? Are we relaxing?
Starting point is 00:00:15 Are we maxing out cool? So on and so forth. I hope we are. I have no indication. Hello, everyone. And welcome to episode 71 of the NXC Clubcast, the official podcast of the NZXT community. This podcast is recorded live every Thursday at any Pacific Standard Time
Starting point is 00:00:32 of the official n-60 discord server is available to stream on demand on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud. So share with your friends, share with your mom, share with your dad, share with the homies where you guys, you know, sit there on Discord late at night,
Starting point is 00:00:47 maybe like 3 in the morning and you ask each other, how can the sky be the limit when this footprints on the moon? My name is Dennis, and with me as always, is Ivan. Not always, but I'm here today. Happy New Year. Happy New Year.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I say always just because, you're always with us in like heart and spirit you know you're always there to some capacity i'm always watching just not always here yeah exactly i've been muted ivan is not i mean you're not we shouldn't be muted what you're saying can't hear ivan he shows up for me i'm i'm muted on the uh podcast channel he's definitely no one can hear iven knew what it is i can tell you exactly what it is it is the input device that has set up incorrectly there we go now you guys should be able to hear Ivan. Can you guys hear me now? Yeah, they can definitely hear him now, hear you now, 100%. So what a way to start the new year, Dennis. We never, we never fail, right?
Starting point is 00:01:45 I think we've ever started a podcast like with it working 100% ever, and we're on episode 71 now. I don't think it's supposed to do. I don't think it's supposed to start right. I think it's just like forever destined to have some kind of wonkiness attached to it. given the two people who run the podcast. Yeah. No, but so those, those are wondering, I'm on a Mac now, right? I'm on a Mac now, a MacBook. And transitioning from a lifetime of using a Windows computer to using a Mac, not just a Mac,
Starting point is 00:02:19 a MacBook Pro is like the weirdest thing ever. And I was going to plug in my Elgado Wave into the MacBook. And I walk over, I'm like, oh, there's no USB A ports on here. It's all USBC. Thank you for being so forward-thinking, Apple. I really appreciate it. And then I realized that the charger for this thing is actually also USBC to USBC,
Starting point is 00:02:39 so I don't have a charger right now for this while I'm recording. So if the battery dies in the middle of the recording, blame Steve Apple. Thanks, guys. I just want to thought that one out there. How are you doing, Evan? How you feel in 2021? You know what?
Starting point is 00:02:57 I'm actually feeling good. my New Year's resolution is was or is to be more positive because 2020 really got me down. Just be more positive, be more healthy, mentally and physically. Right. Trying not to let the haters keep me down like they tried last year. This year I'm just going to roll with the punches and do my best to just, you know, stay positive and be a, a good poppy for everyone. My resolution is to, honestly, I didn't come up with one this year.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Because I feel like every year I come up with like a resolution and either it happens or it doesn't happen, right? And I know everyone says you got to, you got to set goals and you got to like, you know, reach for this and reach for that. Honestly, I just want to vibe in 2021. I just want to just like do good work and just, you know, enjoy myself and not like, you know, go crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:00 That's what I tried to do last year. It was just basically impossible, man. Like, I don't know. Like, I've told you this before, I guess off the air. But last year really got to me, man. Like, it really, really messed me up for some reason, like with everything that was just going on. And I think it largely got to me because I have a daughter now. So I think more about her than myself now when, like, things go bad in the world.
Starting point is 00:04:28 world, you know? And last year, it was just like every day there was just something new, you know. But this year, you know, like, it's going to probably be crazier than last year. That's why I made it my resolution. I'm just not going to let it get to me this time. I'm just going to, you know, do my best and keep pushing forward this year. I mean, what else can you do? The other thing you can do, the other option is to let it get to you. Well, yeah, no, for sure, right? But like, I mean, Save for like literally just like going insane.
Starting point is 00:05:00 You know, like what really else can you do, right? Just got to keep on, what do they say, right? Just got to keep on trucking on. Yeah. Keep on keeping on, keep on trucking. What are there? Stay the course. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Let the wind fill your sales, whether inspirational type quotes. Actually, I want to talk about that, Ivan. You've been, you've been filling up your own Twitter timeline with a lot of inspirational quotes. Can you kind of explain that a little bit? Yeah. I don't really use my own Twitter that much, to be honest, just because I'm always, or even my own social media for that matter, because I'm always just, you know, keeping an eye on NXT social media. But part of my, you know, my resolution is to be better mentally and physically, and I guess spiritually, spiritually, to a certain extent. So I got a rowing machine, like about a month ago.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I bought it used from my brother-in-law for $100. And I bought this thing because I got really out of shape last year. Like just sitting in my room all day really and just, you know, in front of the computer eating nachos and just drinking soda and well, ginger ale, but it's still kind of soda. I was like, you know what? This year I'm going to get fit. And so I got this rowing machine. And at first I could barely do like five minutes on it. And I just kept doing it every day little by little.
Starting point is 00:06:33 And I missed a few days. And I was just like, man, I got to like do something to motivate myself. Right. So I have this app on my phone that every day it sends me like a motivational quote. And I was just like, okay, what I'm going to do is I'm going to tweet this every time I finish your workout just to keep me going just to like put it out there and I know some of the quotes are really weird but I don't know it helps me stay motivated it's it's not really for like I'm not really tweeting these things for people I'm just tweeting it for myself to just kind of keep
Starting point is 00:07:08 reminding me like hey man you can do it keep keep rowing right so for those who don't who don't know I'm going to go through this timeline real quick and just read a couple of these quotes So if you guys feel inspired, please let us know. Send us an email to Clubcast at nz60.com and let us know what you were inspired to do from Ivan's quotes here, right? Clubcast, C-L-U-B-C-A-S-T at N-Z-T.com. Number one, start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can. How's that one? Are you feeling inspired yet, people?
Starting point is 00:07:49 Next one, what we achieved inwardly will change upwardly will change. Our outer reality. Number three. Actually my favorite one. Is it really? It reminds me of when I went to Venice, like Venice Beach, like six, seven years ago. And they bought this, I bought this like little piece of art from like, you know, from like the dudes that like on the side of the road or something on the walkway. And it was a, it was a painting of a Buddha.
Starting point is 00:08:20 And it said something like, it was basically. same thing as like is like a what we what we think inwardly will like manifest outwardly or whatever so it's like it's supposed to tell you to like you know like just basically manifest stuff right like coming with positive intentions you know like whatever is inside you you're going to put out into the world so you know like don't be you know what my favorite we're gay why because uh have you ever heard that beatles song that goes uh something like every day things are getting better every day something like that um boy it was inspired by this dude i forget his name It's like a French guy.
Starting point is 00:08:56 I think his name was something, something crewy, or I don't know how to pronounce his name. But this guy was a, he was a pharmacist who came up with this like this method of not necessarily like curing diseases, but of positive intentions and and helping people kind of like overcome like negativity in their lives. And he had this mantra, and this is the mantra that I say to myself every single day as I'm rowing on my machine in the morning. Want me to tell you what it is? Sure. It's every day and every way I am getting better and better. And he recommended to say that 20 times when you wake up and 20 times before you go to sleep. And I've been trying it.
Starting point is 00:09:49 So I'll let you know how it goes. I say probably like 100 times every morning when I'm on that rowing machine. Right. It's pretty, it's pretty, it's pretty interesting because it makes rowing go, go by really fast. Just you kind of get in the little zone. All right. We got three more. Into like some sort of like, motivational speaker.
Starting point is 00:10:15 I don't know what. Be the next Tony Robbins. Okay. So first off, before, before seeing anything about Tony Robbins. I don't know if he's if he's been canceled. I don't keep up on people, right? So if he is, I apologize. If he's not and he's still doing good work, then, you know, let's, let's go.
Starting point is 00:10:31 So much has happened already in 2021. I don't know, like, what, what's what anymore? So, like, if I ever make, like a reference to a person who's like no longer like and like the zeit guys, just please like let me know quietly and don't like make a big old thing about it. I don't pay a lot of attention to a lot of people. Okay. Next quote, before we continue on. An ant on the move does more than a dozing ox.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Next one. Yeah, that one's really good, actually. It always seems impossible until it's done. Oh, think about that one. And then always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later. I think that was my, was that the first one? That was the first one, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:13 I think it's it. No, no, no, here's another one. One way or another, I'm going to get you. Yeah. You know I like I put it in that one? What? I was actually listening to Blondie with my daughter
Starting point is 00:11:27 and I was listening to that song One way or another I'm going to get you I'm going to get you, get you, get you, get you One way or another And I just took in my head So I just tweeted it I'm going to be honest, dude
Starting point is 00:11:43 I've always disliked that song And the reason why The reason why is like That's like a peak like 90s like early 2000s sitcom episode where someone's being chased and then they just play that song. It's actually from the 70s, Dennis. Yeah, but I mean like they use it in a lot of sitcoms is what I'm saying, right?
Starting point is 00:12:04 You know, like, you know, like a, and I'm trying to think of like shows like sister, sister or whatever, you know, smart guys. You know, you're going to talk about it, right? Sister, sister. You know, I think that's on, is on Disney Plus? Are the shows on Disney Plus? I forget. One of the shows are on Disney Plus or something like that. BZ says also that song was in Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Yeah, that was a good show too. That was actually a really good show. I was on Netflix. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, it's going to be on the mandolore. They're going to put Blondie in the Mandalorian. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:12:39 But yeah, it's a, yeah, it's a, it's like one of those things where I don't have any big intentions for 2021 in the sense of, Like I just want to kind of reset because I feel like last year we're all kind of, you know, thrown for a loop, you know, dealing with the pandemic without. I was going to be like a couple months. Then it's up going to be a little bit longer. Now it's looking it's going to be like an even while longer, right? And then like, you know, vaccines are everything now. And who knows when we're going to get those, right?
Starting point is 00:13:09 Hopefully Papa Johnny over at NZXT can like, you know, finagle a couple of vaccines for us. So you can go back to the office and like chill or something. So it's like, you know, it's like there's just. just so much change. This is just like constantly happening, you know. And like not to get political, but obviously, you know, the stuff that's like happening just like yesterday. It's like, man, like I just, I'm just over worrying about everything.
Starting point is 00:13:37 I was going to go on with like the most positive intentions that I can and just relax. You should follow my Twitter then. I do follow your Twitter. I see your tweets every day. I have you on the Notties. Notties squad. I'm just to kind of notice about a person who reads it. You should know that whenever you get those notifications, I just finished my workout.
Starting point is 00:13:58 You answered it first. Every time, every time he tweets that, he's literally sweaty. Yeah, basically. That's what I gather from that. You're drenched and sweat and your hands are slipping off the keyboard on your, on your Google Pixel. I'm actually probably going to get any phone pretty soon. Oh, yeah? What are you looking to getting?
Starting point is 00:14:19 Are you enjoying team iPhone? No, probably another pixel. Did iPhones live? I don't know what happened with this one. So my charger broke. Yeah. And I bought a new charger. And like now it just like charges funny.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Like so I don't know. I'm going to try to get another charger and that charger doesn't work. Then I'm just going to get a new phone. Have you tried wireless charging? I have, but this phone doesn't support it. Oh, big rip. mine does it also has the Mac safe and stuff
Starting point is 00:14:54 I don't know like I I don't really I don't upgrade phones on a weekly on a yearly basis I think I maybe do like once every two or three years I don't know I just really really I don't care about my phone sorry I don't care with my phone I just always get the the latest pixel whenever I
Starting point is 00:15:14 whenever I need a phone I think Jeff is selling like an old pixel, isn't he or something? I don't know. I'm pretty sure Jeff was like in Slack. Hey, who wants to buy my own? My old Google phone. I kind of don't want to get rid of this one, though, because it's actually a purple phone.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Is it? Yeah. The official color is called purple-ish. It's like a light. Purple-ish. Yeah, it's pretty nice. That should be artificial, like, N-Z-60 color, just purple-ish. And just, like, rebrand it.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Can you, can you, can you, can you, like brand your own color? Is that a thing? I feel like every color has already been like taken, right? I don't, I don't think you can. I see Jin. He's listening in. Yeah. If someone's an expert in like color and copyright and art law, let us know if you can, if you can copyright a color, because I think it'd be kind of cool if like we had our own branded trademark color. And if anyone uses it, we can just like, like throw out like a lawsuit or something and make some fat money. Jen says no. Dang it.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Yeah. Jin is a lawyer. He's only a lawyer I know. Whenever I have legal questions, I always go to him. Then he hands me a box of crayons. But yeah. I mean, besides like personal stuff, I mean, obviously at all NZXT, we got a lot of things planned out, right?
Starting point is 00:16:46 I mean, it's, you know, the work here never stopped. So, you know, just because I'm saying I have no, like, big plans or anything, doesn't mean that we all as a collective don't have a lot of big plans. There's so much going on right now. It's going to be a really busy year at NDCT for sure. Yeah. I honestly really can't wait. Just like, you know, from, you know, from my work to the work that the company is doing,
Starting point is 00:17:09 to, you know, us just, like, expanding as a team and, like, you know, working out all the kinks in terms of the like you know just people joining in and stuff like that i i think we we we are heading in a new direction i think part of the sucky part about last year was that there's just so much happening in the midst of like the pandemic and stuff that was really hard to get like a bean right but i feel like i don't know i feel like we've we made a like a lot of really good progress in terms of like identifying like what some of those problems are how to fix them right whether it means like getting a new person in moving people around right just working new processes, working on new ways of thinking things around.
Starting point is 00:17:44 I think that, I think, I think 2021 is going to be super killer for us. I am honestly beyond excited. I cannot wait. Yeah, it's going to be interesting, to say the least. Especially because, you know, last year we didn't start the year working remotely. And this year we're starting the year working remotely. So we've almost been doing this for a whole year now. So I think we're all pretty much used to.
Starting point is 00:18:10 it at this point. But it took it, it took me a while to get used to it. Like, I, I hated it at first. And I still don't like it, to be honest, but I'm used to it. Yeah. What I hate about it is that, like, I don't have my own office at home. Like, I have a little nook in my bedroom. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:30 So I'm in this, I'm in this room 16 hours a day. So it's kind of like driving me crazy a bit. Yeah. But I am used to it now. So that's the, that's, I guess that's probably, It's almost like a jail sale, man. Like, I only go out to eat, basically. Or to shower.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Yeah, I think I only really leave the room. Actually, now for the podcast, which is like kind of, it's almost like a blessing in the skies. Podcast, eat, shower. Maybe, maybe I'll go for a walk. I started walking a little bit more. Like, I'll go for a walk to the convenience store, grab some snacks and come back. But, you know, at the very least, it's like, it's. It's like walking, you know.
Starting point is 00:19:13 I made the, uh, your go-to snack. Uh, so it depends on the, on the convenience store because they don't all carry the same thing, right? So with me, it's almost like a tiered list, right? If I can find baked hot Cheetos, I will buy those. Because for some reason, the baked ones are just lit. This tastes super good. I don't care what they say about the health benefits, whatever trans fats, that doesn't matter to me. It's all garbage that I'm putting in my body.
Starting point is 00:19:40 so I don't really care. But it's just like, like, it's, it's, there's like my number one. I would say, if I can,
Starting point is 00:19:50 because I don't have them often enough, and I only really buy them in like small bags like convenience stores, funions. Funnians are, I think, incredibly underrated, and people need to hop on the funnion train.
Starting point is 00:20:03 And then for drinks, it's either like a cactus cooler or, uh, if I can find it, cherry vanilla coke. Cherry vanilla coke is super good I don't know why more people don't get on this
Starting point is 00:20:15 Like whenever I go to the restaurants Or like the like where is it I think Wingstops has them Where they have that giant machine That has like the million flavors I always get cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper and it slaps Super good
Starting point is 00:20:30 What's yours Ivan? I'm that weirdo that orders water Why? I'm not a big soda drinker Like I like ginger ale but I don't I don't really drink that much ginger ale because it's a lot of sugar but whenever I go to like even to like a hamburger place I order I order a bottled water drives my wife crazy I'll grab water from like McDonald's or like like like jack in the box
Starting point is 00:21:04 but it's other bottle water or like a Diet Coke like if I'm going to like a convenience store like a 7-Eleven or something I'm going to go to like a convenience store like a 7-Eleven or something I'm going to going with the intention I'm grabbing something that I normally don't grab. So that's why I go fight the cactus coolers or like the, I don't know. I do like cactus cooler. I think I drank a cactus cooler and ate a bag of corn nuts every day in junior high. In junior high, where did you go? Did you go to Dale or did you go to?
Starting point is 00:21:37 Yeah, Dale. We literally lived the same life, huh? Yeah. Did you go to Dale? Yeah, I went to Salk and then I went to Dale and then I went to Magnolia. So it was literally just all around this area. I've lived here like my entire life. So Lancers, right?
Starting point is 00:21:52 By the way, like that school was getting remodeled now. I drove by the other day. Yeah, no, I saw it's like they're they're like putting up like giant walls and stuff. I don't know what it is. But I think, oh, no, no, wait. So I went to Salk, then went to Dale, then I went to Magnolia. Then I went to Polaris, this what they called it. Then I went back to Manoli because I got I got kicked out in like my second year of high school.
Starting point is 00:22:21 I don't know if I told you this. How have I told you this? Did they go like? Probably. Yeah. I got I got kicked out because I got a lack of credits, right? Because I because it wasn't for any reason other than just I just didn't do my homework. I just hated doing homework.
Starting point is 00:22:36 I don't like doing work after work, right? I'm like, I'm in this school eight hours a day. why the heck are you sending me home with more work that makes zero sense i got to get myself up super early in the morning just to be here and then i leave super late and you want me to do more work at home like what the heck so i just didn't do it um what is this school yeah exactly right so then they sent me to a continuation school because i was uh because i didn't have any credits and i kicked butt there dude i made up like a year and a half with the credits in like two months because literally you just sit there and just do the work like you give me the work to do out of the book and i'll do it and i'll
Starting point is 00:23:09 take the test and, you know, I did really, really well, you know, like, everyone there was like, it's like, why are you here? Why are you here? It's like, you know, like, you don't have any behavior problems. You're not finding anybody, right? You don't have like, you know, this or that going on. Like, why are you here? I'm like, I just don't like doing homework. Like, I just really dislike doing homework. And I was a bad student too. Like, I, I didn't hate school. I just hated certain subjects. Like, I failed every math and science class I ever took. But I a aced every, like, history and English class I ever took. And that's probably, the only reason why I was able to graduate, to be honest, because I was horrible at math and
Starting point is 00:23:44 science. I just find it so boring and confusing. It's just makes no sense to me. But English and history, man, I can read and write all day long and not get bored with it. Just numbers and formulas and all that. I don't like it at all. Yeah, I think it was like an older kind of grew a more like a more fond of appreciation for math like okay so so so this is this is going to be kind of a cess story right just just to just it out there if you have young children please uh please uh stop the channel but i was i was on tictock the day and you know like how there's a pretty a pretty like big split there's like there's content and then and then the other split is like it's girls dancing right so there's a video where it's the girls dancing and in the
Starting point is 00:24:39 in the comments, right? Because I always read the comments in these videos because it's always funny to me. Everyone's like, yo, I didn't even look at the, you know, the, I didn't even look at the caption. Yo, I'm going to solve for this. I'm like, what? And they go look at the caption. There's a literal math problem in the caption. So I'm like, hold up.
Starting point is 00:24:57 Forget looking at this girl dance. I'm going to sell this math problem. So I literally Googled like whiteboard and I found a whiteboard app or whatever. And I just started doing this math problem, see if I could solve for X. I haven't done math in forever. And it was actually kind of like a really like nice process. So if you guys ever want to have insight into like me and how my mind operates, I would literally go, wait, there's a thing for me to do here. My insane ADD is going to go to start to try to solve for X.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Forget about anything else. I forget I'm talking about this. Oh, yeah, math. I suck that math too. When I graduated, I think it was supposed to be like, it's like algebra and then geometry and then I think like pre-calc or something is what you're supposed to like. supposed to have at the end. I didn't do geometry. I did elements of geometry. So I was like baby remedial geometry because I was just like that bad at math. You mean to like when I went to college my first year, they made me take like this like
Starting point is 00:25:58 special math path for people that don't know how to do math. Yeah, I was horrible at it. Yeah, the math um math in college is even worse because you have to, use these stupid, like, web apps or whatever to, like, do your homework. Because, like, the way it works, like, they give you a code for a certain lesson. And then you go into the website or you go into, like, the application they give you, it's on a disc or something. I figure it was called Math Lab or something, something dumb. And then you finish your homework. And then once you finish it, it gives you another code that you print out.
Starting point is 00:26:36 And that's the code you get to the teacher that'll, that, that, that, that, you know, that the program spits out and it's like oh you solve this you know you you uh you did your homework because it gave you the code that i can input to this other program that tells you that you did the homework correctly you know it's really we know no idea how it works but i remember one once i think it was a summer class i took um this is like a class that started like at seven in the morning 630 in morning it was it was painfully early and math lab is such a terrible program because if you like miss one space or like one like my like one like one negative in a certain area the whole answer is wrong and if you do enough of them wrong you have to restart the entire uh homework lesson thing so me
Starting point is 00:27:19 and my friends that we spend an entire because we were in the same class we would spend an entire summer where we would just stay like we were over to my homie's house who would do math homework to like three in the morning and then go grab uh mcdubbs and make chickens and chicken nuggets at the end and then just stay up, go to the class, come back home and just knock out. And that was like my life for like, I think, eight weeks. It was like an accelerated or eight week course. And this was like baby math too. It wasn't like anything. It was like a thing. It was like math. It was like math 50 or math 80 or something. It wasn't even like a hundred level math. But you were still in me then. I don't think I was that bad. It's because like it's I think most of the problem was just,
Starting point is 00:28:05 the application, which is the program, because you didn't have to learn the math. You had, you had to learn how to properly type it out in this dumb program so that you didn't scare yourself over. And it was like one space between a one and like a two and then it ruins it. Or if you don't use the appropriate comma or decimal somewhere, the entire thing's wrong. It's like, bro, like, come on. Like, it's a math program. You're not smart enough to figure out that I probably got the right answer. Give me like partial credit. Yeah. It was, it was real bad. The funny thing about me is like I have two sisters. They're both younger.
Starting point is 00:28:40 One is one year younger and one is five years younger. Yeah. But I was so bad at math that, you know, and I was always failing my math class that I always had my younger sister, that you're younger than me in my math class with me. And all the teachers would think that she was like me, you know, because I'm horrible at it. So she would have to like overcome diversity in all her like math and science classes. I had her like from 10th to 12th grade, she was in every single one of my math and science classes. So did you remember Mr. Shoe?
Starting point is 00:29:16 Mr. Shoe? Yeah, at Magnolia High School. I don't know he was there when you were there. Yes. He was there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:23 So he used to be a wrestling coach too. And my freshman year, I was in the wrestling team. And I don't know. I got along with him pretty well. And he said, hey, man, do you want to be my T. and I said, sure. So I was his TA for like three years in his math class, but basically all I would do was go out and get him sandwiches every day from.
Starting point is 00:29:47 You remember this restaurant is no longer there, but he used to be called gourmet pigs. Do you remember that? No, I don't. Euclid and. That's far, though. Broadway. Yeah, it was really far,
Starting point is 00:30:00 but he would make me get him sandwiches and stuff. but anyway, I would come back and then he would like quiz me on math problems and I would get them wrong, obviously. And then he would make me do push-ups in class. Oh, my God. My sister would be so embarrassed, man. That's what it is.
Starting point is 00:30:17 She would, like, talk to her counselor and request to get transferred and all this. And yeah, I was the embarrassment of the, of the Baddajas family in Magnolia High School for sure. So my uncle, so my mom, mom and dad came here, and then my dad, Kate, went back to Nicaragua to, like, bring back my uncle, who was like, he was like way younger than him. And the, he actually lived with my mom and dad for the longest time or something. And he was, he went to school at Sock and Magnolia as well.
Starting point is 00:30:49 And this dude is, I mean, he's, he's a nice guy, but he's like a big, big screw up, right? So I was already screwed from the beginning when I started going to classes because they remembered Emilio Bacadano, right? And he's like, this screw up and stuff. And then they didn't like, me and then, you know, I'm not that great of a student and like, you know, not like to crap my parents or anything, but like, I don't think they like properly prepared me for like what school is supposed to be about, right? So then my poor sister after the two of us comes in with the same last name and no one else has his last name, right? Like we look it up all the time. Ain't no one else have this last name, right? It's like five people in the Chile who have it.
Starting point is 00:31:25 And she starts up and she's literally like every teacher she gets is like, oh no, it's another one of these kids and she's like the best student ever she has her master she's like she's like she's like she's like she's like excelled in like every single aspect of school where i failed that's seriously like me man it's so bad yeah and i feel like um i feel like i feel like part of the part of the uh reason um she like excelled and like i'm i'm not taking credit at all but it's like i remember when she was getting ready to go into kindergarten i'm like all right i'm like listen up kid here's some things you got to know before you start because trust me i got screwed over no one likes me no more i'm a lost cause but i'm going to help you out real quick because i remember in kindergarten right
Starting point is 00:32:09 and this is like just totally me right it's like if you wasn't you hear this story is gonna is it's gonna explain so much when i was in kindergarten you know like they teach you how to write you know like your letters and stuff so we were doing this lesson where like we had to write our our name and i just put dennis on my paper because no one calls you you know your full name So I just put, oh, I'm just Dennis. Everyone who knows me, knows me is Dennis. My teacher knows me as Dennis. My friends know me is Dennis.
Starting point is 00:32:35 There's no need for any other name, right? I had no idea what my last name was. Like, I literally had no idea. So the teacher was like, hey, I just see Dennis in the paper. Where's your last name? I'm like, what are you talking about? She's like, yeah, like, what's your last name? I'm like, bro, I'm just Dennis.
Starting point is 00:32:48 I'm just here, right? This is the boy, Dennis. There ain't nobody else besides me. And she got so mad. She called my parents because she thought that I was like literally screwing with her. And I just had literally and no idea. that like a last name was a thing. Because like, you know, you never considered to think,
Starting point is 00:33:03 hey, you might want to tell this kid that there's a last name. You know, so shout out to Mrs. Sanamoto. She sucked. She was very mean. She was highly prejudiced against me because of my uncle. I feel like she never really gave me a chance. I did not like kindergarten. I did not like, I had to think maybe one or two good teachers
Starting point is 00:33:23 in like my entire career who I actually enjoyed being around. And one was Ms. Robinson in first grade because she was, just lit and then I think I'm trying to think he's the last one Mr. Penn at Magnolia was just hilarious because he was like life lesson kind of dude right he like so yeah he um he uh he uh he was it was it I super glued a penny to a desk once and he's like hey listen man you better get this penny off his desk but in the day or you're done I'm like oh man so like I'm trying to scratch the heck out of this table to get the penny off and like at the day he just pulls out a bottle of like uh nail polish remover that that he just he just had on hand
Starting point is 00:33:59 and gave it to me so I can take off the penny. So this guy was like life lesson dude. And I think I think I was like that's it like for like for like non-college stuff. And then those two teachers are like the two cool teachers that actually enjoy like being around. Why we talk about school again? Welcome to the ANZC Clubcast where we talk about our life. I think it all started with math. Yeah, math sucks
Starting point is 00:34:30 I don't know You know, it's just like You know I feel like that stuff shapes like Like who you Like who you are right So you know It's gonna like make sense
Starting point is 00:34:40 What time is it? Okay I want to I want to get to some community questions Because I haven't been here for like two weeks And I know people have some questions for you So Do you want to start the giveaways too? Ah
Starting point is 00:34:54 Giveaways Um do we want to do now or do you want people to wait until the very, very end? What do you think, Ivan? What are your thoughts? I guess people are saying wait, so it gives wait. There we go. Okay, so before we do this, we do have some emails, actually.
Starting point is 00:35:19 So if you want to send an email, send an email to clubcast.m.com. again is Clubcast C-L-B-C-A-S-T-A-S-T-com if you want to send this an email and by the way I added the email address to the channel description Oh did you nice nice nice nice okay
Starting point is 00:35:36 First question is well gets first email is Love your show never am able to tune in live As time differences here in New Zealand Sadly bleed for so long that the name had some relation to here But oh well Oh N-Z-X-T I get it How about a couple questions for you guys Would you ever be interested in coming to New Zealand personally for a holiday?
Starting point is 00:35:56 Have you ever thought about this little slice of wonder? We are COVID-free, biggest flex. N16 can be big there. And technical question, would N60 ever think about creating an air cooler? I would like to thank you guys, as you are my link to the wider tech world. Me, 16-year-old, could only dream of working for N-Z-16. Your podcast to make it seem so close. Keep up the great work.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Kahoo from New Zealand. Thanks, Kahu. Appreciate it, man. I would love to go to New Zealand. I heard it's dope. Yeah, and we've also already made an air cooler. What was it called again? Do you remember?
Starting point is 00:36:30 I just posted a picture of it in podcast chat. And we also did the, we didn't make the air cooler, but we did the lighting on the cryorrig H1 Loomy. We did? I know that. Yeah. I'll put the picture there. Yeah, so we've worked on two air coolers.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Maybe we'll do it again one day. Yeah, I feel like, I don't know, it's like a, this is something that, like, people bring up every now and then. And I think that my answer is, and this is like an unofficial N60 answer, but it's about as official as you're going to get, to be honest. One is we're always looking at everything, right? Like, the matter what you're thinking about it, we probably thought about it, are thinking about it, are looking into it. because you know, you never want to discount any particular product or category or whatever, right? Just because who knows, right? Who knows what we can come up with?
Starting point is 00:37:27 Maybe we like release a banger, right? But my question is, or like, I guess like my, my next answer to that is regarding any product that you're thinking we should make or you want us to make or why we haven't made is, where is the room for innovation from the, from NZXT standpoint, right? Because most, if not every product that we have out solves a problem, right? So like what would an NZXT GPU, you know, like what problem would that solve really, you know, that like other manufacturers like MSI, Aces, you know, having already done? Yeah. This is the reason why, well, one of the reasons why we don't have that many products to begin with is because we don't just want to put our logo on something. Like to be honest, anyone can make a graphics card or. an air cooler, you just outsource it.
Starting point is 00:38:21 I can do it myself today. I can just call a factory in China, tell them I want to order a thousand air coolers and I want you to put my face on them and this logo or whatever and they'll do it. But that literally solves no problem whatsoever. And there's a lot of companies that do that to be honest. That's one of the reasons why we don't do that just because, yeah, it's like, why do that? It's like anyone can do that. You know, we try to make our product a little bit more special.
Starting point is 00:38:55 And the way we do that is just make it simple to use, simple to install and try to solve a problem, right? And then I guess the other reason why we don't have that many products is because we also try to limit the consumer's choices. so it's easier to build a PC or buy a PC. You can go to some websites that, I won't name the brands, but you go to certain brands website and you look at the list of computer cases, and there's like a hundred of them. And with names that literally make no sense,
Starting point is 00:39:32 like I don't understand what these things even mean myself. You know, like, you know, what's a, what's a, you know, super mega ultra tower or something like that. So that's why like on our website, it's basically small, medium, or large. You know, just try to keep things simple. Yeah, pretty much, right? Just keep it simple, innovate, do something interesting.
Starting point is 00:40:01 But to answer the other part of the question, I think going to New Zealand will be super dope. I ask Omi about it all the time because Omi is our resident New Zealander and he has confirmed that there are more sheep than people in the country. So just that by itself, to me, is like really interesting. I want to go to Old Zealand.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I think it's right next to Atlantis. But in terms of like NXT being big over there, I mean, we'd be big everywhere, to be honest, you know? And I was supposed to humble brag sometimes, but, I mean, let's be real, right? The people are asking. The NZ and NZXT stands for New Zealand, for those that didn't know. Let's see, do you have any other... This is spam, and this question is also spam.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Thanks. Cool. Well, thank you very much, Kahoo, for sending that email. I really appreciate it. If you guys want your question, answer live on the air, and you're not able to be here during the live recording on our Discord server, then send an email to Clubcasts at nzxte.com.
Starting point is 00:41:07 All right, more questions. Start with, sing to the hippos. When will I be able to buy the NZXT? audio stuff. You'll know when we know. Yeah. When it's ready, we're like Blizzard Entertainment, right?
Starting point is 00:41:23 Well, Blizzard Entertainment. Dennis and I are basically just the mailman. They tell us, hey, it's available. Tell people, okay, here we go. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah. Nicole wants to know, is it NZXT or NZXT? Yes.
Starting point is 00:41:41 depends where you live, right? Yep. If you live in Latin America, it's N, Zeta X-T. Say that 10 times really fast, Dennis. Nne Zeta-Exte. N-Zeta-Exte.
Starting point is 00:42:00 N-Zeta-Exte. N-Zeta-Exte. I'm getting confused. I'm getting confused. I speak Spanish fluently, and I can't even say I don't speak Spanish fluently, and I can't say that. So there you go.
Starting point is 00:42:17 But I think, yeah, Canadians like to say NZT. Shout out to Linus. Yeah, I don't know why. It's just how they say Z. Yeah, it's weird. You should say it right. Death of Rage wants to know, when are we going to get an NZXT, B550 and X570? Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:42:40 I guess whenever we make it. You'll ask the same questions every week, and we give the same answer every week. I have no idea. Why is your voice amazing? I'm just going to skip the repeat questions. Why is your voice amazing? You're talking to me or Ivan because I think Ivan has a very amazing voice. I have a horrible voice.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Whenever I listen back to these podcasts, I always... You're just shocked and appalled. Like, man, why do I talk like that? Yeah. Let's see. Gummy bears. generic gummies wants to know for the clown himself gummy bears or gummy worms um depends are we talking sour gummy worms or regular gummy worms because if we're
Starting point is 00:43:25 talking sour sour gummy worms all day baby if it's regular gummies then i'm assuming gummy bears yeah i don't think there are there are there sour gummy bears i'm sure somebody makes them i don't know i don't think it's a harrowe thing but i'm sure like some other like trolley or something makes them. I'm gonna tell you. Um, Death rage wants to know what anime are you waiting for in 2021? Uh, uh, King of the Hill remake.
Starting point is 00:43:58 You know, I'm actually looking forward to the demon slayer movie. I know it's not. I know it's like quote unquote out like you can get it, but I'd rather rate for like the official release. So that's the only thing I'm really waiting for everything else. I kind of don't care about. Doggo wants to know, will there be a poochie movie, Ivan? They probably, you know, he probably should make a poochie anime.
Starting point is 00:44:21 That'd be cool, with like a super, like intense theme and like a really goofy ending theme, right? Yeah, a sad, sad story at the end. Like, Pucci dies at the end. He was inside of us all along. The afraid avocado wants to know. holes as a straw have? It has two. Exactly. Is Ivan the next Maxwell Lord? Let me Google Maxwell Lord. Yeah, it's about to go to you. Maxwell Lord. Maxwell Lord. It's a fictional supervillain appearing in common books published by DC Comics. Negative,
Starting point is 00:45:03 I have no affiliation with DC Comics because I'm a Marvel man. Oh, I tried streaming that new Wonder Woman movie, and I couldn't get through an hour of it. I heard it was terrible, dude. It was really bad. Yeah, it was so bad. I was falling asleep watching that thing. I thought the drama was like it would be like 80s, you know? That was probably the worst comic book movie I've ever seen in my life.
Starting point is 00:45:29 For really? It was that bad. It was horrible. I thought the first one in a woman was really bad, too. Like, I don't, I don't know. The first one was like. but this one this second one the reason why it's so bad is just because there's only well i'm not going to spoil it i didn't even watch the whole thing but like there's action in like the first
Starting point is 00:45:50 five minutes and then the next hour is just uh like not even wonder woman but uh christin wigg that comedian working in an office basically and that's the movie I told my wife, I'm going to go to bed. It's going to fall asleep. Yeah, like, I mean, the first one was like, okay as like an origin story thing. Just mostly because we haven't seen that origin story before, like in like a film format. But then the animus is like complete trash. Like it's all CG.
Starting point is 00:46:30 The enemy is like some weird like super, super being. It made it made zero sense to me. Like I don't know why DC movies go from being like, quote, quote, real to being like the most CG green screen, like crazy over the top thing I've ever seen. And I don't know what it is because like Marvel does the same thing, right? Marvel movies are literally like 90% green screen, but they make it seem like it's not exaggerated or like over the top. I don't know what it is. It has to be direction or something. It has to be the directors that they're hiring for this stuff because there's, there's,
Starting point is 00:47:06 There's no other explanation. It makes zero sense to me. All right. Next question is... I should really start impending these because I don't get lost. B cast when? When we have B on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:47:23 Whenever she wants. Trying to get her on, dude. It's rough these days, though. You know, she's literally the busiest B that I know. She does everyone's job at this point, so... I would be surprised if she's, like, running. NXT in like a year or two. So what?
Starting point is 00:47:42 Can she fix the podcast? I think she can fix a podcast, to be honest. She's the only who can. Seing to the hip-us wants to know what mic do you use. I use an Elgado Wave 3 with all the attachments on it. I use a blue Yeti. Speaking of which, I have a complaint about this. And if anybody from our friends at Elgado is listening, I love
Starting point is 00:48:06 this microphone, I don't like your stand. I'm sorry. This is coming from a consumer from a consumer perspective. So the Elgado Wave 3 comes with this little stand, right? And it's a nice little stand. It works, right? It's flat. It's kind of heavy. But then they also sell these like extension rods for it. And if you put on the extension rods and then you put the microphone on with the pop filter, which is literally just like a screen with the with the shock mount. as well, it actually falls over. Like, I have knocked this thing over on these extension rods so many times where like, I like sneeze and it falls over.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Also, how you, Gina? How you doing in chat? I literally knocked this thing over a million times, which is why I'm very happy that I bought this like other stand a while back before I bought the extension rods because I was really like, you know, I like using the full ecosystem of like a company. So like, so like if we were ever to like bring out a microphone with like our own stand and own everything, I want to use that stuff. Right.
Starting point is 00:49:14 Because to me, the idea is that it all works together. It works perfectly well, right? Because it's made for this product to design this product in mind. You know, someone has sat down and tested it. I don't know who over there designed this thing. I'm very sad because you can't extend the mount, the little stand that it comes with. It just sits there, right? So the only way to make it taller so you can reach your mouth when you're doing a podcast or
Starting point is 00:49:36 something. It's to buy these extension rods, which isn't even that tall to begin with. But someone didn't think about the weight. Nobody thought about the weight. I barely tap this thing and it falls over. It bums me out because I like it. But the shock mount and the filter or the pot filter work fine. They're perfect.
Starting point is 00:50:03 No problem with that. It's literally just the mount. It's really skinny. it's not weighted. It's not waited well. Yeah. The software is super lit too. Eugene is right.
Starting point is 00:50:13 The software is hell lit. Okay, next question, after my complaining. What is the best Apple device of all time? I actually know the answer to that. Oh, yeah, what is it? It's the original iPod. Why is that? Because it revolutionized the way people listen to music, man.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Bro, Eugenie hearing chat is just like throwing it out. The shuffle, Ivan. Have you had the iPod shuffle? That thing is a hidden gem. Nobody had one, but it was awesome. It's super light. That was the one that clipped on? No, it had a little like a neck, a little like neck thing.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Oh, yeah, I had that one. Yeah. It was like a stick of gum. It was awesome. Yeah, I had that. But yeah, I remember when the first iPod came out. Like, it was cool because for the first time ever, if you were a music fan, at least, you can just like rip all your CDs onto iTunes and put it on this little device. And this is when I drove my Volkswagen Jetta and I upgraded to my stereo like Dennis just did the other day.
Starting point is 00:51:30 And I got a auxiliary cord so I can plug in my iPod. that was like the coolest, coolest person on the block. It was cool. It was also really easy to, like, navigate and stuff. Like, that scroll wheel was very intuitive, in my opinion. I, uh, here, this is what I'm talking about. I think, I think we're talking about different iPod shuffles. This is the one that I like.
Starting point is 00:51:54 This is, which is literally just a USB stick. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's literally a USB stick with like software installed and like a little dial on the back. But this thing was super cool. I loved it. It was just like such a smart little thingy. But I did want the new shuffle, but I think by that time, I already graduated like having a phone, I think. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:15 Now if you have a phone, you don't need any of this stuff. Yeah, unfortunately. Yeah, I would say that the iPod's probably like the biggest thing. Because like that, the iPod came right at the peak of like downloading like music illegally, right? Like, you know, it's still a thing, but now, like, it's just so much easier to access music because the music industry, finally, like, got its head out of its butt and, like, realize that they needed to evolve or they're going to die. And, uh, uh, uh, it's a shout out to lime wire. Yeah, dude. Limewire, Sherbert, Kazah.
Starting point is 00:52:50 Yeah, Napster. You know, it's funny. I remember, I actually got a, I don't know what it, I guess it's a season. I don't think it's a cease and desist, but I got some sort of letter in the mail. in like probably the year probably the year 2000 to be honest because I downloaded some music from Dr. Dre
Starting point is 00:53:14 and from Metallica from Napster and then I got a letter I think from Sony and interscope records or something telling me that I have to like delete these files and not to legally download anymore. It's kind of crazy like that's how that's how they used to contact people 20 years ago you were illegally downloaded music you to get a letter in the mail telling you to stop yeah no i think i think it probably was in a scope i think i think they're like the ones at the forefront of like complaining about music downloading and like it's it's really funny because like i really wonder what it's like to be like a music executive at that time because everyone else i knew was like well this is obvious you know like this is how music should be like sent out now right like it should be digital it doesn't make any sense to have like
Starting point is 00:54:02 CDs as well, you know, so and so forth, you know, like $14 for like five songs or whatever. You know, like what's, you know, why? And these people are like, no, we got to stop this anyway we can. It's like, you literally cannot do anything to stop this. Like I, who was it wasn't in Metallica who sued like two, three of their fans or something? It's like the most like ridiculous thing ever. Yeah. And it was mostly, I think the drummer, Lars.
Starting point is 00:54:27 It was just like, he was really mad about it. You big mad? All right. A couple more questions because we're running out. We're running on time here. Let me see. What's a good. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:54:41 Turn out of time. Is it a giveaway? Yeah, yeah. Coffee cup here got smacked. Chocolate or vanilla ice cream, Ivan. I'm going to have to go with, well, I don't get either, but I've added pick one. I'd probably choose chocolate. then what's your what's your go-to
Starting point is 00:55:04 I like getting this one called chocolate malted crunch or chocolate chip cookie dough is good but I don't just get plain chocolate or plain vanilla hmm
Starting point is 00:55:21 I you ever tried chocolate malted crunch you ever tried that? No I don't I've tried what just ever tried I can try to think of off top No, I haven't.
Starting point is 00:55:33 My favorite is always cookies and cream. I think it's like the best ice cream flavor connection, concoction, whatever, you know, the man. Yeah, I like cookies and cream. When I get cookies and cream, I'll always put Oreos in there. But it comes with Oreos. I add Oreos to it. Okay, so bad news.
Starting point is 00:55:53 The bot is offline. The giveaway bot is actually not up right now. Yeah, so I'll find another way to do the giveaway. Actually, okay, have this. I'm thinking of a number. Do you know a single order has 40 calories, double stuff as 70. Dang, that's actually a lot. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:15 For those who are listening right now, I'm thinking of a number between one. See, these guys are answering before even say anything. Between 20 and 25. First person that put it down gets it. congratulations to brick you get it 22 so let me just pin this guy all right and now we'll do another one I'm thinking of a number
Starting point is 00:56:43 right yeah go for go for it I'm thinking of a number between one billion and one trillion go the heck why you like this I believe it is so dumb
Starting point is 00:57:12 Giovanni got it I was thinking just 120 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 you would All right, let me pin this one too Congratulations, Giovanni Congrats to you
Starting point is 00:57:27 Let's see here Other questions Is there any other like important questions that I want to answer a quick before I, before we pop off? But I just drop a nitro code in here or the bots snag it up? The bots will snag it up. Yeah, we have nitro sniping bots. I think we should probably ask B there's a way to like fix it. She probably knows whether there is a way or there isn't.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Like you literally just ask you, she'll be like yes or no. Or she'll figure it out. She's a she's a she's a G like that She knows everything Um Let's see here No there really isn't any other questions here That I think are important enough
Starting point is 00:58:11 To go over time for So with that Community updates Let me see here Can't really think of anything else There's really nothing going on in the new year yet right We're we're cooking up stuff Right
Starting point is 00:58:26 We're thinking up stuff Yeah see The thing goes super quick dude I was willing to spend the $10. There's also like here's the thing too. There's also no way to tell who actually got it unless they say it. Right. So it's probably someone who sniped it.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Okay. And by something like the bot. The fifth person to DM me right now gets it. Oh, dude, you didn't get spammed. Don't do it. Okay. So community updates. Actually, wait, no, we do.
Starting point is 00:58:57 We have a poochies pick. generic gummies, generic gummies, congratulations, very proud of you being Pucci's Pick. For those who don't know what Pucci's Pick is, Pucci's Pick is a way for us, the community, the staff, everybody to basically pick one person out of the bunch who embodies our core values, who is just a super nice person who helps out a lot, who just is a good community member, and we give them Pucci's Pitchie's pick for the month. And Pucci's Pick get a special role. They get the ability to be a DJ in the server and play music forever, right?
