Mm-hmm.
Be shot music.
Let's get it.
Do some music magic here real quick.
Hello, everyone.
And welcome to episode 73 of the N60 Clubcast, the official podcast of the NZXT community.
This podcast is recorded live every Thursday at 10 a.m.
typically Pacific Standard Time on the official NZXC Discord server.
And is available to stream on-the-man on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcast, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
So make sure you get hooked.
to get connected, you get all up in the mix in your bag.
Insert Drake reference here because I can't think of what.
My name is Dennis.
And with me, as always, is Ivan.
Hi, Ivan.
Not always, but today, how do you do?
Good.
Chilling.
It's just hanging out.
Busy day, I guess you could say, or busy week so far at NZXT.
I don't know what to say.
Yesterday, yesterday in social was such an interesting, interesting situation for me.
I don't think we've ever done anything like this before,
and it's just been, it's been a real trip to kind of see what's going on.
Yeah, I was definitely not expecting to go viral on TikTok.
Yeah.
Going viral on content that really isn't even ours, right?
So for those who don't know, we have partnered with this startup called Artifact,
R-T-F-K-T, I believe it's how you spell it.
I'm going to totally get this wrong.
And basically what they do is they do these really cool, like, lifestyle renders of, like,
sneakers and stuff like that.
And it requires, like, a huge amount of, like, computing resources, right?
So in our partnership, you know, just like the same way we would partner with, like,
ninja or courage or anything like that, you know, we gave them computers so that they could
render these really, really cool.
kind of concept pieces.
And the result was the N60 sneaker that you all saw on the internet yesterday.
How long was this in the works, Ivan?
Like, maybe like about a month or so, I think.
I think that it's the beginning of January.
Yeah, they're friends of friends and we got put in touch with them.
and they just said, we want to make these, like, you know, crazy shoes with your computer parts.
What do you guys think?
And I had already actually seen what they did with Among Us.
That was also trending on TikTok for a while.
And, yeah, I just thought it was cool.
I didn't really expect this to blow up like it did.
But it's like, you know, I think like over 10 or maybe 11 million views now on TikTok in less than 24 hours, which is pretty nuts.
Yeah.
And it was, it's, it's weird too because, um, so for when I first heard about this, I was like,
what are we doing?
This is really, really weird.
I don't understand it.
Right.
Um, but then it kind of quickly became really apparent to me that's like, it's such a crazy,
like out of the box kind of thing that we would like normally never do that it almost kind
of makes sense, right?
Um, because especially as like a company, you know, who operates in like one space,
which is like gaming, right?
We, we do gaming.
We do hardware.
we don't really venture too far out from that to do something that's like you know not at all related to what we normally do is really interesting and kind of exposes this like a completely different audience like i was seeing like uh out i was seeing people in her mentions from like the hypeiest community i think on the ticot uh we had a puma who who responded i'm like yo like i wouldn't mind a nice pair of like puma shoes like let's go right it was it was really really cool to see just the the response to it um and it kind of like in
know, it kind of like invigorated me a little bit, to be honest,
it kind of like want to do some more cool stuff.
What do you thinking, Ivan?
You want to do anything cool?
Yeah.
I, you know what me?
I love weird stuff.
The weirder, the better.
This is actually not the first time we've made shoes.
Like, I think it might have been my first year ever at NZXT.
My April Fool's joke that year was,
actual shoe called the shoe plus
named after our hue plus
I looked it up on
on our YouTube channel the other day yesterday
because I had made it private
for obvious reasons
because it's kind of like really bad
but I'll drop a link in the chat
so people check it out
why would you say it's bad
in your opinion
oh this was done
before at a time before
we were going to have a creative team
team.
Uh-huh.
So, all right, I'll drop, I'll show you why I think it's bad.
Once you see it, you're going to be like, what?
That's literally it.
Yeah, it's like, why are we doing this?
It's like, probably like the, like the cheapest video we possibly could have made.
You probably get a better video on Fiverr, to be honest.
All right, I just drop the link there.
Nice.
So we can check that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
the shoe plus.
Fun fact, that was not even,
that was not even the first idea
had that year.
The original idea was Hugh Minus,
which was a LED controller that does nothing.
But then Johnny told me that was stupid,
so then I came up with the shoe plus.
Yeah, like, and I think like now it's like a thing that people do, right?
Like, like now they're, you see these like
RGB sneakers at like raves and like clubs and stuff like that.
And it's pretty funny to see that be like a thing.
But yeah, like it's really interesting and like it,
it makes me want to do something really, really cool.
I think that, you know,
it's kind of made some people in the company really like excited to do some cool stuff.
I think it's made me really want to do, I don't even know,
like, um, I honestly, I can't even really think like what it could be, but like I, I, I really want to do some cool stuff.
Like I really want to really want to start doing some more, some more fun things with this.
Ivan, you got any ideas? Chat, you guys got any ideas? What do you guys think? I'm wearing,
I'm wearing mine right now, actually.
Okay, let me see here. So I do want to make a quick announcement. Oh yeah? What is it?
So I guess our giveaway bot is down, but don't worry.
We're going to drop a link to Gleam right now, getting it all set up.
I'm actually looking right now for a solution, and I think I might have found it.
I don't know if it's a work.
Yeah, I don't know if it's a work, but let me see.
We've got to get a new bot, man.
It's like three weeks in a row that it's down now.
Well, it's really funny because it's never died before.
Let's see.
It only dies when we want to give a bot.
away things this is this is work about hold up don't try it don't type anything guys I'm
gonna see this works because if this works it'll be hilarious and then maybe we could do
we could do this way okay okay I see what if I do see what if I do roll one I roll the five
you think we could do it just through pure R&G if someone can get like a D20 no right
That'd be really dumb.
That'd be super spammy, right?
We would never be able to do this.
I'm just going to set up a gleam for him.
No, for sure, do it.
It'll take me five minutes.
Yeah, yeah, no worries.
Keep chatting.
I'm going to focus on this.
But yeah, no, it's really, it's really, really cool.
I definitely want to, I definitely want to see, like, what we can do.
And just like the really crazy, ridiculousness space.
You know, so I'm hoping to disinvigorate some people in the company
to kind of like start thinking, like, super outside the box.
So, okay, we did sneakers.
What should we do next, right?
And not just any speakers.
This is like speakers, sneakers that had like a, a, a crack in on the side.
And you can see the whole inside of it and see like RAM and like a CPU and a cooler and whatnot.
It was really, really cool.
So it's definitely something, definitely something that I think we should really be doing more of.
It's going to be great.
But yeah, you know, for you guys who also do answer questions live on the air.
you do want to ask any questions, please let us know. Make sure it ends in the question mark.
And we'll pin it and ask it at the appropriate time. And also, excuse me for a second.
If you want to, you could also send an email to Clubcast at nzxte.com. That is again,
Clubcast at nzxte.com. If y'all ask questions that we already answered before, we're going to refer
you to some back episodes. We've got 72 backlogged episodes for you to check out. Make sure you
you check it out.
Joki wants to know,
what do you think about the Bitcoin?
The Bitcoin or Bitcoin in general?
I don't have any Bitcoin.
I have Dogecoin.
I bought 10,000 shares of Dogecoin the other day.
Yeah.
I'm sorry, I thought you had more to go with that.
I bought it, but it's been losing,
it went up for like a bit,
and then I've been losing money like every day.
So I'm kind of a little upset about that
But it only cost me $100
I figured if it gets to
If it gets to $1,000
You spend $100?
I'll make $10,000
So I think it's worth there
Oh my God, dude
I have
I have some doge coin that I
Mine back in the day when I was like way younger
And it was like a big thing
I was like, eh, just let me see what's up
So I have a little stock of doge coin
He just sits there doing nothing
I don't really expect it to ever make me any money,
but I think it's funny, you know,
just to have a doge coin.
I think it's interesting for sure.
Yeah, no, it's definitely something that like, you know, that I don't really invest a whole lot.
I have stock in like a couple of companies.
Like, I don't know if I'm even like a lot to reveal it.
I don't think it matters, right?
If I like invest in the companies I haven't.
There's not real like.
I am a lawyer.
and yes, it matters.
I should I know.
I don't think it matters.
I don't know.
As far as I know, like, as far as I know, like, I never signed anything when I first turned
the company other than like, you know, like, don't bring company rule stuff.
And that's really pretty much it.
And I don't think investing is one of them.
I know I can't take, like, ideas from the company.
That would be really messed up, right?
Insider trading.
Yeah.
Has it really count as insider trading, though?
Like, I don't think so because I feel like inside of trading is more like if you have no idea.
I may well just shut up before I get sued.
but I do on stock in like some some like hardware and like gaming companies because like it's like
the industry that like I know so for me it's like you know it's easier for me to understand
like what a trend might be as opposed to oh I'm going to invest in like solar energy or something
like I don't know anything about so energy you know how that am I supposed to know right
is a giveaway worldwide or limited to nah it's limited to everybody in the world anybody can
can participate so for those who want to show up a lot
We also are doing, I forgot, I don't even know what you do even like announce this.
So we are giving away Steam gift cards now as opposed to Nitro because not everybody needs
Nitro.
And, you know, video games are cool and fun.
And, you know, maybe there's something that you've been looking at for a little bit.
So why not?
So show up live, hang out with us.
They'll get abandoned the server.
And, you know, we'll give you the ability to buy a nice, neat new video game for you.
Is Bitcoin the value of the future?
I don't believe so.
But, you know, a lot of people seem to think so.
Um, yeah.
Yeah.
And for those asking, um, questions about the gift cards, we're going to give away five, $25
gift cards and the winners will be announced at the end of the podcast.
So I see like a bunch of people already answered.
I've got like two pages full of names already.
Um, and it'll be random.
Does it matter where you live, uh, to just stay tuned.
It's global.
I think the giveaway back just woke up.
Forget that butt
Let's see
I'm just curious real quick
See if it works
I don't think so
I think it's still dead
It says it's online
But I don't think it's actually doing anything
It's just like chill in there
But yeah
So also as like a quick announcement
Since we're just starting out here
So today we started at 11 a.m.
And tomorrow next week
We'll be doing an 11 a.m.
Start as well because we're doing
our company town hall then
where we hear from all the cool people of the company
and get nice new updates and fun news
and we get to ask Johnny ridiculous questions.
So any interest of having a prepared show,
we will be doing a late start next week as well.
Who knows?
I mean, I don't know how I like the 11 a.m. start.
It's only an hour less,
but I feel like I'm much more awake now
than it would be at 10 a.m.
I don't know, Ivan, what do you think?
I feel so far.
I actually don't mind it.
that much, but I prefer the 10 a.m. I'm an early bird, as you know. I was about to say, like,
what's your, what's your perfect, like, podcast start time? I mean, I'm good to go at, like,
six in the morning with the podcast, to be honest. Pass. No, thank you. No, I'm good. I'm definitely
not an early bird. The only time I woke up early, I think in the past, like, oh my God, like,
in the past, like maybe a year, to be honest, like before 7 a.m. was yesterday when I woke up to watch the news.
And that's it. Just because I wanted to see what's happening, you know, and that's it. And so any time I woke up early,
I don't even wake up early for like game releases. I just wake up when I wake up and I play them.
I don't plan for anything like that. It also doesn't count if I stayed up super late to like open up my Christmas
presents and then like sleeping. It doesn't count either. So.
Yeah. Let's see.
Are the questions we got from the peeps on the internet here?
Do you like this game or not?
Game Dev Tycoon?
Yes.
My company is a multi-million dollar company now in GameDev Tycoon.
My game studio is called NZXT,
and we're working on a new project called The Grid,
which is an online digital distribution platform
so that we can save the internet once again.
Will there be any new Air-2 Air,
or
gb fans
before buy the air
RGB 2
yeah
yeah they're
they're gonna come out
the day after you buy them
exactly
we always
we always knew
it's really funny
like we we
we always get those comments
whenever we release
any new product like
oh dude I just bought
the old one like today
I'm like well
sorry dude like
this is how it is
you know like
I I wonder
if there is a room
for us to like
potentially like
do like a more of a lead
on like product launches
but at the same time
there's never a perfect time, right?
There's never a perfect time for anything.
Like we can announce it a month ahead and people will still be complaining,
dude, I just bought this.
You know, you guys are going to put out like a month?
They're saying you've got to sit here without a cooler for a month.
I'm like, no, dude, like, just buy the one that you want.
You know, like, I don't know what you want me to do for that.
Yeah, and it's like, I always think it's funny too.
Like when we release, anytime we release any new product, like that very day
and for probably like the next couple of weeks
people were like email us really upset
like how dare you release a new product
when I just bought the old version
and it's just like
I put myself in their shoes
and yeah like I mean obviously everyone wants
like the latest and greatest thing
but I think I think like
well if I bought
if I bought like a I don't know
I guess like a phone or something
and then the next day
like Google says like oh we have this new phone
coming out.
Like, I'm not going to tweet at Google.
I'm like, how dare you do this, man?
No, like, I don't know.
People really do get upset.
But there's unfortunately nothing we can do about it, you know.
It's like it is what it is.
We're always ricking on something new.
We're always going to make something new.
And we can't tell you exactly when or what those things are.
So you just got to take a gamble sometime.
Or just like, you know, kind of think about like, you know, how old is the product, right?
How long has it been around?
and you know, do you think it's going to be a new one anytime soon?
And even then, though, like, to be honest, when it comes to, like, a lot of products,
like, in particular, like, crackens and stuff, like, the leap from the Cracken X-62 to the 63,
I don't feel like is, like, enough for people to be, like, super, super upset.
Yeah, it is using, like, a newer pump, you know, the Infinity Mirror is a little bit bigger,
something so forth, right?
But to be honest, like, they're both really good coolers, right?
The performance increase on those is, like, not so substantial that, like,
if you don't buy the newest one,
you're going to be out of luck.
Obviously, with the crack and Z is a little different, right?
Because that's almost like a brand new kind of thing,
you know, with like the cool on it.
But for the most part, I think you're pretty good on that.
I'll say the only real, like, the only real company,
they really like schedule stuff almost like continually.
And like you can kind of bet out is like Apple, right?
Like every year they have a new phone
or they have like a new revision of the phone.
And it's like a two-year cycle from like the super new nice,
one to like the you know kind of side grade ones right and like I think other than that I don't
really know like who else really has like that much of a predictable you know launch schedule for for like
any product so I think um I think that like really uh you know it's just kind of like how everybody
operates yeah what we got it would be nice to just have a schedule so everyone knows but yeah no
Maybe one day.
Yeah.
One day.
Not today, but one day.
Let's see here.
What else you got?
What's your advice in doing software development for NZXT remotely?
Apply for a job.
Yeah, you might want to ask the cam team.
They're the ones who are probably working remote.
No, just NTC.com slash careers and submit your resume.
And good luck.
I guess it really pretty much it, right?
Like either you're fit for the team or you're not, you know, based on your current resume.
Don wants to know.
I actually have a quick question for you, Dennis.
Yes.
What did you order at Alberto's yesterday?
So I didn't order anything.
My roomie ordered.
And they got a, they got nachos.
They got, yeah, they got nachos, you know, with all the fixings on it.
No, no, wait, no, I didn't.
they got a
got a nastad de cassidia
and then they got a chicken
a chicken taco
I didn't really advise
on the chicken taco
because it came broken
I don't advise
anything from Alberto's to be honest
I mean their nachos are pretty good
you know and I
did I tell you my Alberta story
no no I didn't so okay so so so
first off for those that don't know
Alberdos is a Mexican restaurant but it's like
it's basically like a roach coach
but it's like stationary if that makes
sense if you guys if you guys understand.
The other funny thing about
Alberto's is there's like a bunch of knockoffs.
But you have to look very closely.
Like the signs will say Alenberdos or Alertoes.
Albertoes, right?
There's another one too.
Or Alabertos, yeah.
Actually, I just dropped a picture of the one you sent me last night from
you waiting in line.
And I told Dennis that I have a strict policy that I don't buy food
for restaurants that have handwritten signs like Alberto's.
but anyway my alberto's story is it's actually pretty interesting it's like so alberto's it's on the same
street that dennis and i went to high school and uh right it's on ball right yeah yeah it's on ball
yeah and he docs me bro yeah um but anyway yeah i you know like like you i grew up going to alberto's
um and there was one night in particular like 20 years ago where i went there super late like
two in the morning.
And I made the mistake of ordering chorizo torta.
Oh, this sounds like the worst thing possible you get ordered.
Yeah, exactly.
And like the next day, my stomach was so messed up that I was like, man, I'm just not going to eat meat for a while because this is like really grossing me out.
And that actually made me a vegetarian for like 10 years.
Are you serious?
I swear, that one moment.
That one experience.
10 years because of Alberta's.
Jesus, dude.
Yeah, like, seriously.
Like, at first I was like, I'm not going to eat meat for a couple of days,
and then it turned into a week, and then it turned into a month.
And then after a couple of months, I was just like, well,
I might as well just be vegetarian now.
Like, I haven't ate meat in a couple months.
And before I knew it, it was like, you know, 10 years vegetarian.
And then I met my wife, and that all changed.
She made me a hamburger.
Did you just make you a hamburger?
Yeah.
Just straight up like, here's a burger, eat it.
And that's it.
Yeah.
Like our first date, we went out and I ordered a salad and she ordered wings.
And she offered me a wing and I told her, actually, I'm a vegetarian.
And she was like, no, you're not anymore.
Yeah.
And then we kept dating and then, you know, little by little, I just started eating meat again.
Now I'm like a barbecue god.
I barbecue every weekend.
I find it hilarious that you're just like, nope, not anymore.
more.
You're a, you're, now you're a meat eater.
Sorry, that's just the way it is.
Yeah, Alberta's, man, like, yeah, that, that place is sketchy, like, for real.
It's definitely, you have to be careful when you eat there.
Yeah.
I don't know about the knockoffs, but for sure, Alberta's, like, you know, it'll, it'll do some damage.
For sure.
It did you dirty?
Yeah, man.
Don wants a no favorite razor product.
I've only ever owned two Razor products in my life.
Wait, three.
No, two.
Yeah, one was the original Black Widow with the Cherry Blues.
It was very, very loud.
It lasted maybe like a year and a half, like tops.
And then the second one was a Razor Death Outter Left Handed Edition.
And they don't update that thing and haven't updated that thing.
So it's just like a product that they make.
And I need a little bit more for my product.
So I, unfortunately, have the drop it once I started breaking.
and then I'm currently using a Viper Ultimate Wireless and it's amazing.
I love that mouse.
It's super great.
Battery of life is like two days.
The little charger on it is super, super sick and easy to use and it's like an amazing mouse.
So big ups.
My favorite Razor products would be the H440 Razor Edition, S340 Razor Edition.
Oh, smart.
And also I guess besides those, the only other Razor product I,
really have hands-on experience because it's a mouse is the death adder which for a long time the
death adder was my favorite mouse like it's really comfortable um it's a standard you know i mean it lasted
me for like a really long time uh and it broke but i wasn't really upset because it lasted me like
i don't even know how many years um yeah it's really good mouse yeah i would say the death adder is
definitely like it's it's a basic mouse and like like like it's it's a basic mouse and like like like like
the best ways, right? There's no frills, something special about it. It's just a really
decent mouse that doesn't cost too much, right? And you just throw it on there and you're good to
go. Like, easy peasy. It just fits me perfect. Yeah. Let's see here. What do you think of
Discord Nitro? Is it worth the money? It is if you like emotes.
And you like to flex on people.
And if you like to support your favorite server by boosting it.
there you go how's a reception from the sneakerhead community been hopefully good so it's such an interesting
concept so i would say that a lot of normies seem to like it a lot of gamers seem to like it but i don't know
anybody in the sneakerhead space who's like a tastemaker or like any groups that are sneakerhead people
who would say who who i follow or like would know of who i've spoken on the shoe as far as i know
actually if you go on the tweet that they posted and look at their quote retweets
you can see a lot of the sneakerhead community and they actually really enjoy it
they're saying things like wow these are awesome must cop whatever I didn't know on
TikTok Puma replied they're they're part of the sneakerhead community I think
do do sneaker heads by Pumas I don't know I legitimately don't know
your heads by by all shoes Dennis even the jankiest one
Yeah.
I'm going to quote Retoots right now.
I'm like the exact opposite of a sneaker head.
My shoes have holes in them.
I like simple, nice shoes.
I don't have a crazy collection or anything like that.
I did cop a pair of Kobe's like right, like right after he passed.
I'm like, I want to buy a pair of these shoes before they get really expensive and then aliens buying them.
Why the heck is there a cat staring at me from out?
Get out of here.
Dude, this is cat who runs around my neighborhood.
and just like poops everywhere and I hate it.
It's like my archedemesis.
The only time I ever bust a move is when I see this cat going near my house
and I run and make a bunch of noise.
This thing is annoying as hell, man.
I will run like Terminator style at this animal and scare it the heck away from me.
I hate cats.
I'm sorry.
I don't like cats.
Cats are the worst.
I'm not a cat lover myself.
They're useless animals, do they don't do anything.
The reason I don't like cats is not because they're useless, but I don't like cats because they don't need humans.
Like if you have a pet cat, like your cat does not need you.
Your cat can literally disappear for like a month and survive and then come back.
Like nothing happened.
And a dog, on the other hand, like that dog needs you.
Like a dog without its owner is basically useless.
You know, like it's not going to be able to know how to get food.
going to know anything.
Yeah.
But cats, man, like cats are definitely,
I don't want to say like...
Just be honest, I've been just talk about useless.
They're definitely not like my opinion of what I would consider an animal that I want to like love,
you know, like I love dogs.
Like I've always had a dog, but just cats, yeah, I'm not a big cat guy myself.
Except for Caros cat, it's pretty cool.
Carl's cat is a very interesting cat.
Hey, but going back to your sneakers, Dennis,
one of the things I actually miss from going to the office
is hearing your shoes squeak when you walk into the office.
I would seriously hear you every morning walk in
because your shoes were like,
e, e, e, e, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he.
I would call them squeakers, not sneakers.
You're a squeak your head.
He's referring to, he's referring to my NMDs and they make a, they squeak.
Is that really a squeak?
It's more like, because the bottom of the soul is kind of like a honeycomb design or something,
they kind of like plunge almost.
What's funny, what's funny too is like when Amanda started sitting behind me,
I heard the same noise one morning.
I turned around and it was her
and she was wearing the same exact shoes
So yeah like those shoes are definitely squeakers for sure
They're not they're not sneakers
I'm trying to find a picture of the sneakers that I got
Here we go I got these ones here
These ones are the shoes that I picked up
They're not as comfortable as I thought they would be
But by the way
I were going to just ignore the fact that I that I know your shoe size now
Yeah I'm going to 100% ignore that
I'm talking about that
But yeah, those are my cobies right there.
I like them.
They're,
they look really nice.
They,
they,
they,
they're a,
they're a perfect type of shoe for me because I don't have big feet.
I,
I don't,
okay,
I don't know what the average size foot is,
but I would say I have probably a below sized average foot and shoes like
these that look longer.
Don't make my feet look like,
like clubs or something,
right?
That's why I wear commerce a lot.
where bands a lot, but like the long hands.
According to the Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons,
the average shoe size for men
is between 9 and 12,
while the American average male
shoe size is a 10 and a half.
That sounds way too big, bro.
I myself, I'm a size 12.
That's why I was kind of shocked when you told me your size.
I thought you were joking at first.
I was like, how is that even possible?
I was Dennis's shoe size in like the fifth grade.
I'm not even joking.
Okay, whoever can guess it, I'll give them Nitro right now.
Whoever can guess it, let's go.
First person.
Okay, those you who are saying four, you can get the heck out of here.
Femar breaker, thank you very much.
Yeah, I do wear a 7.5.
I don't feel like that's, I don't feel like that's, that's too small, but apparently it is.
I don't know.
And Q chat freaking out about it right now.
I'm really not trying to make fun of me.
But I legit wore that shoe size when I was like in elementary school, man.
Like that and I I don't know if I have big feet, but I feel like a size 12 is normal for my height.
I don't know. I don't feel like it's I don't feel like it's that it's that small. I mean my shoes
look fine. No one never comments until they actually like know the size. So to me I feel like
shoe size is like overblown. I feel like you know it it just makes more room for
for everything else, you know, like all the growth is another spot.
So, you know, I'm totally fine with the situation.
I'm actually, I just found a picture.
I just found a picture on my phone of Dennis wearing his shoes.
I'm going to drop it in the chat for you guys to check it out.
Oh, Lord.
Here you go.
Right there.
Well, I do that.
I'm going to, I'm going to throw this nitro out at this, at this peep right now.
Give me a second.
So I don't forget.
It's an interactive show.
But if you're listening live, check the PIN messages for the giveaway link.
We have over 100 people who have entered already, and we shall announce the winners shortly.
Oh, my God, dude.
And if you're not listening live, I guess you should listen live next time.
Definitely do it.
All right.
Let's move on here real quick.
Next question is, what's your favorite game or a game you were currently
playing. So we've talked about
favorite games before, but what games are currently playing
right now, Ivan? Believe it
or not, I am actually playing a game. Although
I haven't played it in about a week,
but I started playing
Red Dead Red Dead Redemption 2
on Google
Stadia.
Again? I thought you finished it, no?
No, not even. I'm like
25% through the
story. I only
I mean, I can only play for like 30 minutes a day
tops. I mean,
you can play more, just neglect your family a little bit.
Just tell them it's...
I could just tell them it's me time.
Yeah, just tell them it's poppy time.
Easy, easy, easy, dude.
But I did, I started playing it when it first came out, I think, or...
Yeah, when it first came out on PC.
But then when the pandemic hit, I stopped playing video games on my computer because I just got
tired of being in his room all day.
And, like, the last thing I want to do when I finish work is stay in the same room for
another, you know, hour or whatever.
Like I sleep and I work in the same room.
I don't want to play video games here.
So I had also pre-ordered a stadia just because,
not because I was really like a big believer in like,
oh, streaming technology or whatever.
The only reason I pre-ordered it is because the controller
looked like a Discord logo.
And I collect controllers.
I have like 20-something controllers.
And I just wanted the controller because I thought it looked cool.
And when the pandemic hit, I was like, you know what?
I'm just going to try the stadia thing and see how it works out.
And thankfully, I have good internet.
And there's, like, no problem in Red Dead Redoubt, too.
It's a fun game.
Do you have a Steam Controller?
Does you?
No, I do not like how the Steam Controller looks.
Have we tried it, though?
Have we tried it?
No, I haven't tried it.
Just out of, it's the Principality, Dennis.
I need a D-Pad, man.
I don't like that little.
Just puts a padding.
Whatever that thing is called that they have there for your thumb.
Not my cup of tea.
So I would say, in my opinion, I think the steam controller is one of the best controllers ever designed.
You're also left-handed, so your opinion is not valid.
I do a lot of things right-handed because I am a left-handed person who lives in a right-handed world, so I have to adjust.
But I would say the pads on that thing are super, super, super.
good, right? They, they, I was to the construction is a little janky, right? It's a little finicky,
right? In the sense of like, it doesn't feel like super, super solid, but all the technology
in it is really, really well made. And those touch pads are just amazing for playing like a third
person shooter. Like, I'm currently playing through Resident Evil 3 right now and Yakuza on it. And
Resident Evil 3 is, you know, it's a shooter, right? You want to be accurate. You want to save your
ammo and shoot the Zambis in the head.
right um and uh being able to like use the gyroscope on it as well to kind of like fine tune
your aiming is like the best thing ever because i don't like playing on sticks you know someone
who's played on like a mouse and keyboard like my entire life um going over to like a pad to play
a shooter is like not ideal at all right it's it's it's the level of like control i have it's just
not good so being able just kind of like pull a little bit further down on the trigger fight for like
the second stage and then kind of just tweak my hand up a little bit to get that aiming in.
It helps a lot.
It's really, really good.
It's great.
I think it's one of the best controllers ever made with the caveat that you have to kind
to go in and learn how to adjust it a little bit, right?
It's like it's almost like how people say that like Linux is like the best OS, you know,
as long as you learn how to use it.
It's like that, but not as like neck beardy.
Like, you know, just go into a setting and you tweak a couple things here and there.
And then like, okay, cool.
This feels a little bit better.
You can tweak it a little bit more.
It feels a little bit better.
and then you kind of find that nice sweet spot
and you just like, it's good to go, right?
It's a chef's kiss.
So nice, so nice.
It's a great controller.
I hope that they are working on a part two,
but knowing Valve,
the Apollo Pallum never happened.
I did see on Twitter that you were selling a fight stick the other day.
Yeah, so I was just going through my stuff.
And I had this, well, I had it actually sold on the day of
because I have a lot of people in the final game.
community in my Twitter and I knew that people
would retweet it so I was like hey I have this old fight
stick I don't want to
I don't want to keep it in a closet because they can't properly
like you know show it off you know so
I was going to sell to someone who could actually like use
it or you know do whatever they want with it
I'll link a photo of it
it's the uh did anyone buy it
yeah uh some dude in uh
in the bad nice picked it up
and I
was he wearing a mask when he showed up
uh no it's through eBay so I'm just
I'm just gonna ship it over to him
But I think I know actually who it is, to be honest, because the fighting and community isn't, like, super big.
But here's a, here's a picture of the stick.
It's a, it's a street fighter for, it's a street fighter for, uh, femme fatale, uh, limited edition, uh, stick.
They only made like, 120 of these and I have like number, like 55 or something like that.
That'd be, that'd be funny if, um, the person came to your house and it was Gutex.
Oh, God, dude, I would kick him out.
I feel, okay, so, so like, I feel bad for that guy because, like, I personally know and, like,
have met Gutex on several occasions, uh, and actually work with them here and there.
And he, he was always like a weird dude, but I don't know what happened.
And, and, and, like, I honestly hope he gets help because I feel like there's, there's, like,
something happened to him, do.
Like, he was never that person to say such weird things on the internet like that, right?
Um, and I don't know what happened, but like, I, I really, I really hope he gets some help.
because he was always a cool dude to me, right?
Always like a little weird, but, you know, like, who isn't a little weird in, like, the gaming community, right?
Like, everyone's got, like, a little bit of weirdness to me.
I met him, too, last year at the pop-up.
He was a cool dude.
I didn't think he was, like, like, you know, like-
Insane.
Well, I don't know.
I mean, I don't want to jump to conclusions here, but.
Right, no, for sure, for sure, for sure.
Yeah.
I guess he was, like, you know, telling people not to wear masks and posting the crazy videos of
weird remedies.
and stuff, yeah.
Yeah, it was just like stuff that, you know, upset a lot of people.
And yeah, I mean, if he needs help, I hope he gets it too.
Yeah, it's a bummer too.
And it's really funny because a lot of people didn't know that, like, he was the PogChamp guy.
And, like, that video came from, like, this old FTC, like, kind of joke video that he did, like, a long time ago.
And it's, like, one of the last bits of the fighting game community that's, like, ingrained
in like really deep Twitch culture because a lot of people don't realize that like the fighting
game community was like one of the first to jump on like streaming and stuff.
You know like just streaming tournaments, you know, because people couldn't be their live
and stuff like that.
It was like one of the first e-sports or first like competitive games that ever really like really do
live streaming.
And like they started early like on Justin TV or something.
You know, we have footage from like, you know, 2009 when like, you know, Justin Wong and
and Bago were doing the whole cool stuff over there on Evo.
I definitely consider fighting games the first e-sport because, you know, when I was a kid,
you would go to the arcade and you would literally like battle people, man.
Like you would slap the quarter down on that machine.
Yeah, for sure.
Just haduking people all day.
Yeah, there's a be my, my old mentor used to tell me this story where it's called the Beeper story, right?
And this was like back in the day, in the arcade days when like Street Fighter was first like a real big thing.
And people were like actually like, starting to get like kind of serious about it.
And he had two types of people.
You had people who knew all the moves and new strategy.
And you had people who didn't, right?
And they just kind of played on the sticks and they got angry.
And he would tell me that, you know, he would keep a beeper around him.
Right.
So for those I don't know, a beeper is basically like pre-tax messaging is this little thing that you would like that you would send a phone call to.
and then it would beep and let you know, hey, you missed a call from this person,
get to the nearest, like, you know, pay phone or the nearest, you know, telephone.
And, you know, and then you can call them and see what's up, right?
Because, you know, if you're out and about and not, like, at the house,
then you can get a message from them, essentially.
So he would have this beeper.
Yes, guys, pager or whatever, you know.
We call them beepers out here, right?
Chill.
Jeez, kids.
We call them beepers, right, Ivan?
Yeah, I mean, that's what I would.
Yeah.
I mean, there's beepers and pages.
I always thought pagers.
I think pages are the official name.
Well, no, I think a pager you can actually send messages through the pager and a beeper you can't.
I think that's what the difference is.
Difference between beeper and pager.
I think beeper is just like the slang name.
Here we go.
Pager was the original name used for those devices as people use them to get the attention
or page of another beeper or sometimes bleeper.
or sometimes bleeper.
I don't know who will hell call him bleeper.
It's simply a nickname which came from the noise
the device made whenever an incoming signal
was being received.
So the same thing, guys.
He's come down, right?
Regional accents, regional dialects, blah, blah, blah.
Beeper sounds cooler, though.
Yeah, beeper sounds more lit than a pager.
I got a pager.
I got a pager.
Anyway, so he would just, you know,
he would hang around town to Southern California,
and he would get a message on his beeper
and or his pager and say,
be like, hey, this person at this arcade saying he can be anybody in the city. All right, cool,
let me roll up. He will drive it down there to that arcade. He will play this guy. He will
whoop him. And then he'd be, all right, man, I'm the best in this arcade. Don't try me again.
And then he would just do that around town like pretty much all day. People will just, you know,
paying money. Yo, I know this guy. He says he's the best. You know, 20 bucks he can beat you.
I'll get him here in like 20 minutes. He's like, all right, bet. He would drive down. He would,
he would, you know, he would beat this guy at Street Fighter. And then he would continue on.
And he started, you know, gaining his reputation being like, you know, like this bad dude in like SoCal who would just be people at Street Fighter.
That's what people used to do back in the day before, you know, saying the party invite on like Xbox Live or something.
That was, in my day, we have keepers, I don't think.
Yeah.
I don't think I've ever used a beeper for playing video games.
I mean, I never have either.
But I think, like, in the arcades, right?
When you didn't have, like, an internet, that's basically like the only, you know.
You know, there's any internet type thing.
I see here.
Next question.
Install, best microphone for a real gamer.
First off, what is a real gamer?
How do you define a real gamer Aipen?
They have to wear gamer shoes.
Uh-huh.
Gamer socks, right?
Ninja gamer socks.
Yes.
And they have to drink Mountain Dew, basically.
Those are only two requirements.
They have to wear gamer shoes and drink Mountain Dew.
Yeah. I would say the best microphone is the one you have on you right now.
That's usually the like default answer, right? The best camera is what I only had one microphone in my life and it's this blue, what is a blue Yeti one that I got when the pandemic hit because I had to work from home. Yeah, it's the only one I've ever used. I've always just used the microphone on my headset.
Um, I would say if you really want like a good mic that's not attached to a headset,
because typically mics attached to headsets aren't very good to begin with.
What's that one called from from Antline?
The mod mic is really, really good.
Um, or grab, you know, like a Blue Yeti.
Yeah, or a quadcast or, uh, the wave three.
I'm using the wave three right now.
The Elgada wave three.
Uh, we tried to use a quadcast for the podcast.
Um, and it just,
didn't sound very good.
And then we used the Yeti.
And then that one sounded amazing for the podcast
in the first early episodes.
Listen to episodes like one through five,
I think of the podcast where we're still doing it
from like one of the meeting rooms.
And we didn't have like her own like podcasting room.
And you'll notice the difference in quality.
We definitely have better mics now.
Because from then we upgraded to AT 2020s
and used a full digital mixer.
analog slash analog mixer with the digital interface
so you can say that.
And then now that we're home,
we're using a different array of stuff.
Ivan's on a Bledietti.
You know,
I'm using a wave three.
My mic is definitely much closer to my mouth,
which is why I sound a little bit better.
I'm sure Ivan's is like up above his head
or something like floating around or something like that.
I'm right in front of me.
Best wireless mic.
I don't know about that.
I would say if you want to know,
about like peripherals and stuff,
go to the peripherals channel
and someone will probably help you
pick out a really good microphone.
That's what I did when I was looking at
when I was looking at like switches
from my keyboard or looking for a mouse.
I was like, hey guys, I need a mouse.
I'm tired of the steel series.
It has to be wireless because I'm really just
over having to yank all the time.
They're like, yo, get the Viper Ultimate
and they got it and it was an amazing mouse, you know?
I take recommendations and they look at reviews.
I do both.
Fun fact
I'm actually going to buy
a microphone
for my daughter
birthday next month
this one
Oh yeah
Frozen baby
But
She's in the frozen phase right now
Yeah the Jerry Galley says
Wave 3 plus shock man plus pop filters
Literally I'm using all the old gotto stuff
Except for the extension rods
They are not good
The stand on the wave three is not heavy enough to support the extension rods.
So if you barely tap the mic, it will fall over.
I've done it so many times.
So I have this other mic stand that I bought.
It's a really nice big heavy one from Amazon.
It's like, I think it was like $10 or something.
And it screws right on the tip of the mic.
And there's no way you can not have to think over.
It's a really heavy, sturdy base.
That's the only complaint I have in regards to the wage.
Dave 3 is just the actual stand that comes with it is not sufficient for anything extra
because you add on the pot filter and then you add on the shock mount and the thing tips over
every day.
I mean, yeah, you know, but you know, you try and let the knockover.
You're doing a podcast and it's like boom, boom, boom, boom, because everything falls down.
It doesn't sound good.
All right.
A few more questions here before we kind of close it off because we're hitting the 12 o'clock hour
and we got to get our lunchies in.
Giveaways almost over, so check the PIN messages to enter 132 people, so your chances are pretty good.
Five of you will win, a $25 steam gift card.
Yeah, we should probably get our own bot going for the giveaway stuff.
It really wouldn't be hard, I don't think.
It should probably be pretty easy to do.
We'll talk about that off the air, but I kind of like the gleam thing.
And I'll explain why.
All right, for sure, no problem.
here you go if you guys need to link again for this thing um okay uh what was your favorite
what's your dream job what was what is your dream job before in zxt baseball player
oh yeah um honestly it was being a streamer yeah you know like being like a big stream yeah
i like talking to people you know i like i like you know uh bull pooping on the mic for no
reason just playing video games you know to me that's like the coolest thing ever um i think
it's fun. I mean, like, I think the actual reality of being a streamer is not fun at all,
and it's very stressful, and it's like, you know, not, not cool unless you're like, you know,
like Tintan and they're like Pocumein, right? Like, Dr. Lippa literally is like, if he donate to me,
none of that money goes to me anymore. It goes towards a charity. Like he's so big to the point
where he doesn't even need to do that. Pokemon, she doesn't let you donate anything above
$5, right? So it's like, unless you're at that level, being a streamer in like the mid and even like
kind of big-ish tier is like probably the most stressful thing in the world.
world, right? Because you don't know when your next paycheck's coming or how much it's going to be because
it's just like one day you're working with NZXT on like a cool side project and the next thing you're
not doing anything because nothing, no one has anything going on. So I'm sure there's like a lot of,
you know, not fun stuff that goes along with it. But I would say if I could do it's just
free, I would love the stream full time and just like have that be my my job, you know. But actually like
actually treat it like a job. I mean these dudes are like 30 hours.
You probably, I mean, we really wanted to.
We could just make it your job.
Just like, let's just start streaming.
Like, now you're on.
I got to stream today.
Nah.
If I would have to do it, it would have to be like on my own brand, on my own name,
so I could just do my own thing, you know?
Because like...
Shoki TM.
Yeah, exactly.
You Shoki TM.
Well, it's because, you know, like, you know, if you're representing a company, right,
then like you have to adhere to the company standards.
And sometimes, you know, I want to talk about stuff that, you know,
the company might not have a stance on that, you know, is, you know, obviously something that I wouldn't,
you know, want to talk about.
You know, it's about having that freedom, being your own boss, right?
And then I would have merch, obviously, and I would have like a little figure of me,
have my own line of gamer socks.
I would literally endorse the dumbest crap as like a joke, like, no lie.
Like, some, a bobblehead with some little tiny shoes.
Yeah, exactly, dude.
Exactly.
No, like it'd be great.
Like, you know,
streaming self like hoodies and your shirts and stuff.
Like, yeah, that's cool.
But what about like branded fingerless gloves, right?
Like there's something really dumb.
That's not something that like, you know,
it's typical gamer gear, but it's like hilarious.
Yeah, exactly.
Ice trays, finger socks.
Some actual like actual size shoes that people can hang in their review mirror.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Life size replicas.
like little like uh those those like little stickers that people put in their in their uh in their cars
you know those little enemy peekers like one of those would be really really cool don't do that um here's a
good question would a virtual pop-up store be a good idea i think so i think it'd be really really cool
i don't know what we would sell there but it'd be cool maybe that's what we do we sell
gloves and ice trays and really dumb crap, you know, like Discord did like, you know,
hoodies and shirts and stuff like, no, no, no, I don't want to do hoodies. I don't want to do
shirts. Let's do, let's do a phone case or an N60 phone case or a phone charger or, I don't know,
N6C branded succulent. Yeah, shoes, exactly, you know, be $1,000 per shoe.
Thoughts in Cyberpunk 2077. So we're talking about video games.
here. It's a cool game.
I wish there was more to it,
but it's a cool game. You know, I like it.
I came in with the expectations of playing a video game.
That's what I got.
Haven't played it.
You should play it on Stadia, dude. It's on Stadia, no?
It's like Optimized for Stadia.
Yeah, but it's like, I'm,
not only am I not a believer in multitasking?
I don't like doing two things that, like,
once. Like, I don't like reading two separate books at the same time.
I don't like playing two video games at the same time
or watching like two different TV shows at the same time
I just want to play a game, get over with
and move on to the next.
Yeah, no, I get that.
There's definitely, it's definitely that.
How tall am I?
5-8 on a good day.
We stand a average height king
up in this, up in this community.
How tall are you, Dennis?
5-8.
I don't know why.
I never realized you were so small, dude.
What are you talking about?
about you're the one who's giant man you're like you're like 611 or something you're the freak
or not me also real quick real quick before you say anything have you ever noticed you don't see
any really tall old guys think about that for a second Ivan when's the last time you saw an old
man who was actually super tall doesn't exist when i looked at the mirror this morning i'm built the
built the last dude built dipperly actually know my my uh my grandpa my grandpa was built like a
refrigerator and he was like really big yeah he was like super wide and tall and giant ears like
his ears were like the size of of my fist like he was a giant yeah I think that's different
than just like a really tall person no yeah but you're what you're you're like what six six five
right or something like that I think no six two six two I said even that's two I weigh two two two
Two hundred and five pounds.
A shoe size is 12.
My waist is 34.
My pants are 34 by 34.
Size large shirt.
It's a pretty normal,
normal human being right there.
I don't know if that's normal.
I would say it's...
I don't know either.
You're definitely only the upper end of the spectrum of like,
of like what height is.
I would say like if you like average people out.
But like if you go to,
like to like the Nordic countries,
those fools are tallest heck too, dude.
And they're like giants.
It's like a valley of the giants over there.
If you go to like Sweden or something,
I think that they're all like super tall.
Real quick.
So the giveaway is over like in 100 seconds.
And I do have to hop off like right away
because I have a meeting right now at 12.
So as soon as it's over,
I'm going to drop the winners in here.
And I'm going to head over to my meeting, Dennis.
So you'll have to wrap up the podcast without me today.
No worries.
It's not a problem at all.
Yeah, it was good being back, man.
I'm excited to be here again next week.
Yep, next week.
Hopefully we have a guest.
Yeah, we're lending them up right now for the new year.
We got some exciting stuff coming up soon.
More people from the company.
If y'all want some repeat performances, let us know who you liked from previous episodes.
So go check them out if you haven't already.
Anybody new, let us know.
And we'll put them on a list.
but I'm on a list for cool peeps.
People are saying Bcast, Bcast, Bcast.
All right.
60 seconds left on the giveaway.
While that ends though, we do have, let's see,
announcements-wise,
I know we missed the wallpapers,
but we'll do that today and the setups.
They do setups.
They might have forgotten about the setups.
It was a weird day yesterday.
A lot of weird stuff going on.
Yeah, we'll do that too.
And then,
Don't forget about Pucci's Pick.
So please sit over to the Pucci's Pick channel if you are of appropriate level and vote for your standout community member to be highlighted.
What I would say is, you know, obviously.
I have a very important question.
Oh, what?
If I get out of this Google Me, will the podcast the record?
Yeah.
It won't break.
All right.
All right.
Bye.
Yeah, bye.
I'm going to drop the winners right now.
All right.
Bye, everyone.
Yeah.
So, like, think about who.
who you think is a great community member who is, you know, a helpful person who makes a
community a better place, right?
Think about that for the, uh, for, for the, for the poochies pick. Um, also, you know,
we're still always looking. The heck. We're, we're, we're always looking for new moderator.
So please apply to be a mod. If you feel like you are, uh, fit for the job. If one of the
Mods going to throw out the chat,
throw out the link in the chat, please do so.
That'd be very, very great.
And what else we got here?
And also, we got,
that's really pretty much it.
It really isn't a whole lot going on right now.
We're still cooking some stuff up
for the community to have some fun.
Be guys of any ideas,
of any cool things we could do, let us know.
We do host game nights weekly,
ask some moderators,
and they'll give you info on the game nights.
I don't know, I'll forget who else.
A bunch of other stuff, you know, got going on all the time.
Hang out.
All right.
And with that, guys, there's my music.
We need to get some music here.
Hopefully it doesn't break anything.
This looks like it's broken.
But here we go.
This is break.
Let me turn this down to like half so I'll destroy it.
I don't have a mixture on me.
There we go.
Nice.
Like it.
All right, guys.
With that, thank you for joining me again, Ivan, and thank you to everybody who tuned in.
Remember to tune in next week at 10A and Pacific Standard Time in the official N-Z-X-T Discord server.
Actually, 11 next week.
You're doing 11.
And they'll read the follow at N-Z-T on all relevant and irrelevant social media.
And if you'll be so kind, please send an email to Clubcast.
That's C-L-U-C-A-S-T at N-X-T.com.
If you want to ask a question off the air.
And don't forget to listen to previous episodes on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
We're on there too, guys. Check out our mixtape.
And finally, please leave us a positive review if you like what you hear, but especially if you don't.
Because we like them haters.
All right, guys, with that, thank you very much.
We will see you next next.
week. Bye.
