So smack that bell, obliterate that sub button, tickle the like, share, share, share if you want that Fortnite card.
My name is Dennis.
And with me, as always, is Ivan.
How do you do, Dennis?
Good, chilling. We're drinking hell of coffee today. I got my, uh, my Minecraft pumpkin, Jackal Lantern
mug today. Oh, that's cute. I know. I got it from Target. I want that. It's all at Target.
All, all the, all the awesome Minecraft stuff is at Target. I'm literally looking at like a beehive
Minecraft lamp that has like a little bee when you pull it. It's super cute. You have way
too much of Minecrafts at its house. Uh, I know, I know you've been gone for a week, Dennis. Um,
Are we having any technical difficulties right now?
Possibly.
Do you know what that one difficulty might be?
I didn't switch the cams, but it's perfectly.
There we go.
Not a problem.
It's all.
You have passed the test.
Yes.
Only a hundred two episodes in, guys.
That's it.
That's it.
One day,
one day we'll get it right.
You know what it is.
It's automation and it's tools and it's hard to automate some of this stuff.
If I can just plug my brain in or steal this, the, the, the steam deck that my girl
took for me back then I could do this again.
Today's special guest is creator of the Sims
melanin pack. She has worked with well-known brands such as Fenty Beauty
and Google offers consulting services for streamers
and way too much more for me to mention because I think if I did
there'd just be like this list and that'd be like half the show.
So welcome to the show. Amira Virgil, aka X Miriamira
Mira, akaa Queen. Am I right?
Oh, thanks.
How are you doing today?
Hello, I'm good.
Got some water in my system, so I'm feeling all right.
How are y'all?
Good, good, good.
Just, you know, it's talking to you.
I don't know if you know, and I'm sure it wasn't,
probably wasn't obvious during the pre-show
because pre-show, I'm like very low-key,
very just like not here.
But I'm actually super excited to talk to you.
I've been a big fan.
I know a few people over here at Nixixie
have been big fans for a while.
We throw a name around a lot for stuff just because we think you're super dope.
Thank you.
So for those who don't know, just big question, who is X Miramira?
Who are you?
What do you do?
I am a content creator, a community manager, and a hot mess.
I've been creating content for going on about seven years now, about seven years.
And it started off with Sims.
I remember I kind of found streaming.
I was going through like this bad like depressive spell.
And I used to spend all my days playing World of Warcraft.
And that was kind of when I discovered Twitch,
started creating content on Twitch.
I ended up really liking it.
And it kind of just went from there,
just making content ever since,
growing communities and just coming into the space
and realizing that things could be different.
Things needed to be changed.
And how could I contribute to that?
So that's pretty much my story.
I love to hear that.
I just want to dial it back real quick.
What class, what race, and what faction and wow?
Oh, my God.
If I could remember, I think I was a human rogue or something like that.
Okay, okay.
I played to like level 70 and then like I went back to sit.
Okay, cool, cool.
Okay, so I just want to make sure for those who don't know,
we don't allow any dirty horde players on this podcast.
Only pure alliance, badass.
says here. I got to go then.
Just like low key, just not just speaking from like a story standpoint, I think that the Horde
storyline makes zero sense now. I don't get it. I don't like it. I think they,
whatever they've tried to do with it, it just doesn't make sense to me. Did you know that
video games aren't real, tennis? Did you know that our eyes aren't real because we know
aren't real. What's the thing that Jaden said? What was it? He's like a, uh, uh, how can our eyes,
who is it? How can, if mirrors aren't real, how can our eyes not be real? I got to look it up.
Hold on. I'll get it's a look at it so real. It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a Jaden Smith thing.
Um, here go. Uh, how can mirrors be real if our eyes aren't real? Think about that one.
If our eyes aren't real. I don't get it. Okay, so, uh, moving along.
So you started on Twitch, you liked it, and you said that things needed to change.
What specifically do you feel like needed to be changed and why?
The space, I guess the gaming space wasn't really, didn't accurately depict like the actual,
it's actual audience.
Right.
And I could kind of tell that based on like my exchanges when people found out I played
video games and how shocked people were.
And I'm like, okay.
Yeah, I like video games too.
And I realized.
things needed to change once I started creating Sims content I couldn't create the type of content
I wanted to create I couldn't create like either accurate stories or more accurate stories if I was
going to like more wholesome route and you know just different things I couldn't tell certain stories
because the there was like a serious lack of like diverse content in the Sims community um
and from the developers so I was like okay it's time for me to like
Ask questions and start making things.
And that's kind of where the melon impact came about and like the black simmer.
The community space that I created where simmers can come and just make content,
have discussions with each other without having to deal with like microaggressions.
Because believe it or not, the Sims community has a lot of racism and microaggressions.
So I kind of created these spaces and opened these discussions.
That's awesome.
I love that.
I think that's unfortunately true for a lot of communities, right?
There's not a lot of room for diverse people, I think.
In a sense of like where, like I have like an anecdote where I was playing this game.
And it's like a survival, you know, zombie killing kind of game or whatever.
And I was lucky enough, or guess not lucky enough.
I beat up on these two dudes and I was like, hey, you guys are pretty good.
Let's team up.
I'm like, cool.
You know, so we team up.
I asked him for the Discord.
we're chatting Discord.
Everything's great, like 15, 20 minutes.
And then he starts throwing out some slurs in the voice chat.
And I'm like, yo, like, that's kind of not cool dudes.
You know, like, I'm not down for that, you know, like, I'm actually brown.
So it's kind of weird for me.
And they're like, oh, no, no, I just let me talk.
I'm like, okay, no worries.
I just left Discord server, didn't deal with it.
And it's like, it's like, first off, who does that that someone you don't even know?
Like, if you're talking to your friends normally, cool, do your thing, right?
I'm not going to, you know, I'm not going to invade your space and tell you what to do.
But like, you invite some person you don't know.
I started throwing stuff out in the voice chat on my bro.
Come out.
Yeah, no do you who I am, where I come from, what I'm about.
Like, that's, so I'm like, peace.
And I just left and played by myself, and I found them later and killed them.
That last part didn't happen, but that's what I wish what would happen so that I can teach them, you know,
the error of their ways through the violence of video games.
No, I didn't happen at all.
I wish you did.
But I think it's really cool that, like, so for those who don't know,
the melanin pack is basically a diversity skin pack for, for the,
Sims, right? So in the sense of like, you know, if you think about any like any and hair, right?
Yes, and hair. No, it's just, it's just, it's just skins here. I don't make hair, at least not yet.
So that's actually funny because that's what that's what I was going to ask about next is um so for for those
who aren't aware and actually don't don't look at this stuff. If you go to like any character
creator, you'll see a distinct lack of just color and like hair text.
and just like diversity in terms of like facial structures and like all kinds of stuff.
Um, and it's something that like, you know, that, they're like, I've noticed myself, right?
Like myself, I have a really big nose, right?
And I'm also brown.
I know the canvas is show it.
It's super super overexposed.
Just believe me when I say it, right?
My mom's Mexican.
But it was from Nicaragua.
And, um, like, it's hard to find, you know, like, you'll get maybe like one or two options
and that's it, right?
Whereas like, in the inverse, you know, if you're trying to make like a character who's a,
who's like, who's white, right?
pretty much.
You get a whole slew of different, you know, skin tones and textures and
hair styles and stuff like that.
Like, things that, like, I can't do, things that other people can't do.
And I think it's cool that, like, you just took it upon yourself and said,
I'm going to do this myself.
Like, no one's going to do it for me.
I'm just going to do it so that I can make the content that I want.
I can play the game the way I want to play and, like, represent, you know, I guess
myself in the way I want to do it, right?
Yeah.
Okay, I'll make sure right on that.
You're like, no, actually you're wrong.
I just thought.
Yeah.
I'm glad it sucks that I had to.
I wish, you know,
and it would be great to live in a world
where I could have just made content.
And all I have to worry about is like making YouTube videos.
But I'm glad that I did, you know?
And I think from what I read since then,
you've been in contact with like EA and stuff, right?
Like the-
Yeah, since then they've brought me on to like consult me and the team of other
is a pretty diverse group of seminars from like all over from all these different countries.
They brought us in and they had us.
kind of consult on the new skin update.
That's awesome.
It's,
like,
it's,
that's,
that's awesome,
and I love it.
And it makes you super happy to hear that,
but at the same time,
it's like,
it should just be,
right?
Like,
it should just be like the default that you have people on staff.
You have people who are aware of the stuff.
You have people who just bring folks in before this even is a thing so that,
you know,
everybody can kind of play the way that they want to play.
But,
I mean,
it's,
Like that's that's like one of the reasons why I'm such a huge fan.
Like why I'm kind of like fanboying a little bit.
It's because like you went out and you did your own thing.
You're like, hey, like I'm just going to do this on my own.
And like, you know, look we are now.
What was actually, what was the first step in doing that?
I just also want to say my mom is like really big on like be the change you want to see.
Like I'll be like, mom, what about this?
This and this.
And she's like, and what are you going to do about it?
And I'm like, are you right?
like what can you do mere mirror and I'm like okay um can you ask that question again
it's always the moms right it's always the mom's kind of like okay you want to complain about it
do something oh it is sorry mom you know be the change you want to see and I'm like okay cool
all right let's see he said so how did I go about it um yeah like what was the first step like
how do you even you know like you wanted to do this like what's the first thing you do to actually
like get the wheels turned in here um so for me person
I used to do graphic design.
I was like self-taught graphic design
from like high schools.
Like 13, 14, I used to do
graphic design. I used to make like flyers
and different things like that, practice and retouching photos.
In high school, graphic design
was something that I wanted to go to school for.
That is what I wanted to do.
And I got older and realized that is not what I wanted to do.
But I still carried those skills
and the things that I'd learned into,
like, you know, from like typography,
I pretty much carried those into adulthood.
And that's where I kind of landed
with the melanin pack because I used Photoshop
to make the tones.
I did a lot of research.
I researched tutorials in how to import them into the game
and then I kind of just sat in Photoshop
nonstop for, I want to say about a week, two weeks,
just trial and error, testing, testing,
doing little SIM photo shoots,
how do these skin tones look?
Because, you know, the skin tones that were there
for the Sims 4,
not only were they lacking,
but they were gray for darker skin tones.
It was so bad.
I remember discussing it initially and people giving pushback
and saying that I'm just looking for things to complain about
and I'm making this up until the vampire pat came out
and people really sat down and looked at the difference
and people came and told me like,
hey, I can't tell the difference between the vampire skin tones
and the human dark skin tones for Sims 4.
And I'm like, see?
The gray.
Yeah, like the lighter tones were fine,
but the darker they got, the grayer they got.
And I'm like, damn, I, I,
I don't put on lotion every day, but I don't look like that, right?
I'm ashy sometimes, but even when I'm ashy, I don't look like that.
Like, that's literally gray.
And it's a big problem, like, across a lot of games that we play.
Like, the darker skin characters are gray as hell.
You know, it's funny that you mentioned that because I've actually never heard it put in those words,
but I have noticed that, yeah, that like, the darker you go, the more gray it, like, ends up being.
Yeah.
Like, it's not like a brown or like a black or like anything like that, which is,
God,
it's just, sorry,
just like, the hamster's running on the wheel
because I'm like,
how many years have I seen that?
We're like, I've tried to make someone dark.
I just, yeah,
tried to play Pokemon the other day.
Same thing.
Like, it's just super common.
And I'm like,
even if I don't put lotion on,
I don't look like this.
Who did this?
And what,
what's the reason for not doing hair?
It's just too,
too complicated?
Um,
it was too much to add to my workload
because,
remember,
I'm streaming.
I'm doing YouTube videos
at the time. I'm streaming, doing YouTube videos,
hanging out with my community.
I started another community called the Black Summer
and then I have to find time for myself,
which at that time I barely did, right?
So trying to take on the task of learning hair
would have added too much to the workload
because then it would have been,
oh, now you're also like a consistent custom content creator,
which is a job in itself.
And with all those other things I had going on,
I couldn't really find the time to learn hair.
so like all I really did with hair was I would go in Photoshop and recolor things to look better on the darker skin tones.
So I would take because like EA, their darker, their black hair was like a blue black and it's not flattering on darker skin tones at all.
It's very weird looking.
So I would take it, I would take them and pull them in Photoshop and I'd make them like a regular black, like a jet black.
And I would do that or I would find lipsticks and I would recolor them in shades that were more flattering.
But now in the update, they have like sliders.
so I don't have to do all of that in Photoshop and no any you know anymore thank God um but I
used to do that like I'll I recolored things to make them more flattering on darker skin tones and then I would also do the skin tones
gotcha yeah and I would say I think that hair also requires some more modeling work right than just than just recoloring yeah you got
you have to go in blender and it wasn't it just wasn't something that I had time to learn on top of like the workload that I had at the time do you do you see yourself
maybe like ever and like if if i'm spoiling any plans in the future just just just just saw this is all
coming off top of my head like maybe like getting like a group of people together to like make
these new packs or something or like is that a thing or would just be like hey EA you know like what
it's about just make into the game um honestly yeah i'm just kind of like if they need me call me
you know just don't forget to pay me but i'm here that's kind of my look that's my attitude
towards it you need me call me um
Because, yeah, these companies need help.
Then it's a lot of these developers, a lot of these publishers,
they need to start reaching out to diverse voices to get perspectives
instead of just putting content in a game and shipping it out
and then having to deal with the backlash of whatever happens when it goes public.
So that's kind of my view on it.
Just reach out to me if you need me.
Yes, right here first.
on the on the nzxte clubcasts and the wait i i think we were brandy now right now we're just
podcast ivan i forget um anyway you hear you here first on on through nzxte how that's
much better a lot more ambiguous um if you guys need a mirror give her a ring hit her up on that
cello actually get hit for manager that's how it works the management too famous for us um okay uh so
follow the question to this actually is what games in your opinion do you think do a good job
with displaying diversity games because i can't really think of any to be honest ironically enough
sims was already the more decent ones with that funny enough you know i had my complaints about
sims but in comparison to a lot of other games they were pretty good um yeah i'm trying to think
blank.
I like Apex, but they don't have character customization.
But I guess as it is, it's still pretty good in that regard.
There's like characters from all over the world with all these different stories,
different accents, different lore.
Like, they've got that down pretty good.
Right.
But as far as character creation, I can't think of anything really right now.
Yeah.
Did you see the news this morning about Fortnite?
and Martin Luther King Jr.
We're just talking about that while you're up, yeah.
I don't know where to think about that yet.
Like, I'm still kind of processing it.
I'm, I'm confusion because I'm seeing little kids
hitting emotes in front of the Martin Luther King speech,
and I'm like, what is happening?
And, you know, it's going to come a day where
some kids going to be in, like, history class,
like 20 years from now and be like, oh yeah, I'm okay, that was the guy from Fortnite.
I remember that guy.
Oh my God.
Dude, I was going to kill me.
Sad because that really could happen.
No, it's probably is going to happen.
That's why I'm kind of like having like, I don't know, not really mixed feelings.
I just don't know how to process this.
Like on one side, it's like, I think it's cool that, you know, they're adding like something like that in, in the game.
But on the other side, I'm like, why is this important?
Like, what are they going to do with this?
Who woke up and said, Martin Luther King?
Yeah.
Yeah, that's my thought about it too, dude.
Like, I have no idea how to feel about it.
Like, on one hand, it's like, okay, cool, you know, like, everyone should hear the speech.
It's a very important speech, right?
There's a lot to it.
You know, it's a historical thing.
On the other hand, you know, like, do I really want to see this through the lens of, like,
someone watching someone else, like, do like a dab or something or, like, you know,
do like a floss or, like, well, there.
When I'm doing this, like, like, if you think about it, right, you can be playing this game, right?
And you'll, you'll see Dr. King's speech.
And then you'll see Ryu and Chun Lee and a giant banana.
And you'll see like, Rick.
Like, it's staring at this thing.
You've got everybody in that game.
Yeah.
Imagine a marshmallow opens up for MLK.
Oh, my God, dude.
I mean, they just said Ariana Grande, too.
She could, she can be there.
and like think her accent you know during the speech that'd be great
but you know what i do think though like i wonder if um like these types of
immersive experiences in video games are the way people are going to you know do things like
you know watch a speech or you know attend a concert or whatever because you know it seems
kind of weird now because it's new but i wonder if like 50 years from now like you know if that's how
you do things, you know, like if you want to go to a movie, like you open up your
favorite video game, like let's say it's Fortnite and then you just, you know, with your
buddies in that game, go watch a movie. It's like, I wonder if that's like what's going
happen. We watch the brand new Avengers movie through Fortnite, right, with your homies.
That might end up happening at this rate.
Yeah, that's a, yeah, I said when I feel about it. Like my, my mind is 100% torn on it.
I love it and I hate it at the,
exact same time, but, you know, if it helps people, I guess...
It seems like maybe could be executed a bit better, but it's not a bad concept, a bad idea.
Yeah, I think that's what it kind of boils down to, right? It's just the execution.
It's like how they handling it, you know, is it in a, you know, if you had to go through like a
wormhole to see it, like, does that work great? Yeah. How is it going to work? Yeah.
Someone should, someone should do this. I've been, I think, I think we should do after the show
immediately. We just load up Fortnite and just go through the,
experience and then we can critique it.
What do you think?
Do it.
All right.
Back on topic.
That's so weird.
Samira, let's talk about the
Noir Network. What is it? Why is it?
How is it?
So,
for years, I
wanted to create
a stream team,
a community.
But I wanted it
to have some sort of impact
right like i want i didn't want to because like normally no shade but in this space i see a lot of
stream teams and it kind of turns into like a follow for follow or a bunch of like folks enter
in the streaming space that want to be seen by either this one streamer or they think that they're
going to get tons of visibility by being a part of these stream teams so they join them in hopes
to like grow and cultivate their communities and that's usually not the case it usually seems like
you have a stream team and more often than not the person
who creates it is the person who gets all the benefit all the cloud all the following
etc etc and i was like i kind of want to do something different the norm network pretty much came from
that combined with um the back and forth dealing with companies um budgeting finances like the business
side of content creation also combined with the fact that like before i said you know this
industry doesn't have enough diverse voices right
So that's kind of where I combined all of that together to create a network that is designed for black women in the content creation space who are on their grind and they're just looking for other people to share knowledge and learn from.
And like a, you know, I don't know if I want to say a sisterhood, but that's kind of what it's kind of becoming.
Everyone's just kind of coming together, sharing knowledge, working together.
and it's more about like developing your brand.
So it leans into like brand development and knowledge.
Right.
And that's kind of where I came from.
You know, that's kind of how I came about with that.
And I was like, you know what?
No.
It was literally another situation of this needs to be fixed.
But what can I do to fix it instead of just making a stream team and saying I have a stream team?
Yeah.
So I mean, does it seem more of like a, it sounds kind of like a co-op or something, right?
Like I don't know if I would say like stream team.
I feel like that doesn't cover everything.
The team is just a part of it.
Yeah, yeah.
Because, yeah, because like you're 100% right.
Like I've had people like, hey man, join my stream team.
Like for what?
Like I don't like like, like we never interact like ever, right?
Like you're going to open this thing and I was going to look at it like,
that was going to go down to the page to find the stream team like it.
It never made sense to me.
But like this sounds more like, you know, like let's help each other.
Let's collaborate.
Right.
That's, you know, gallows.
Because like my, my friends who invited me to stream team and they've been like,
hey man, let's talk about finances.
like never once yeah that's what we do like we're kind of like you know someone in the community
be like hey i just got reached out to this you know about from this company about this this this
and this you can discuss it we come together especially since finding management is so hard in the
content creation space and the amount of things i've like learned since i've gotten management
has been like eye opening so i'm like wow this is stuff that people need to know this this should
be common knowledge yeah it's pretty much just sharing yeah it's weird too because
Because it's funny that you mentioned that because I just had a friend, she's a streamer,
she hit me up a few days ago.
She's like, hey, I got this offer from this company.
Like, can you look at it for me?
And since, you know, like I, you know, I work social media and I work, you know,
in the industry, gaming space adjacent or whatever, you know, I know a little bit of things,
you know here and there.
I'm an expert by any means, you know, I mean, you guys know that.
And I was like, yeah, like, this looks like a really shitty deal.
Like, I wouldn't take this, like, unless you don't care.
And she was like, hey, thanks.
You know, appreciate it.
But like, yeah, it's, there's no, like, there isn't like a good learning resource that's like readily available and it's also free, right?
Because like there, those services do exist, but you got to like get accepted into the program, right?
They're not free.
It's also like, you know, a very, you know, one type of person dominated space, right?
So it's kind of weird, like, you know, as a different kind of creator to come in and like, hey, can you help me with stuff?
Because I might, you know, you might not feel as comfortable, you know.
And especially because like, you know, we're also different, right?
We all come from different backgrounds.
and we're all, you know, not, you know, not, what am I trying to get across here?
Anyway, shit's hard.
T-O-D-R, it's hard.
Yeah.
You know, but it's great that you guys have this.
How many, how many members do you guys have in this?
So far, I think it's about 30, 32.
That's a lot.
We're looking to bring in another 10, 11 in September.
So if I, I, but I myself as a listener, because I know I'm not, I don't, I don't fit the bill.
Wanted to apply.
What are you guys looking for?
Consistency, someone who like I said is already kind of on their grind.
They already have like the knowledge of content, like a basic knowledge of content creation because we're all in there working hard and we're all in there encouraging each other.
we hold each other accountable.
I like to call it positive bullying.
We positively bully each other every day.
Because it's like, did you do that YouTube video you said you was going to do?
Like things like that.
Like having someone kind of like, you know how you have like the accountability group for when you want to work out.
It's the same thing.
But also it's in there too.
But also, you know, for your content.
Like you said you wanted to start making TikTok.
Did you start those TikToks?
So if you are okay with that and you're okay with the space of like,
people nudging you and asking you questions.
Like, did you do this?
Or are you good?
You're okay?
Or, um, but just definitely people who are on their grind consistent and who are willing
to grow and looking to establish themselves in content creation.
And it's not also just like Twitch content creators.
We have Facebook content creators in there.
Um, like we have people from YouTube that primarily create content on YouTube.
So it's not just a Twitch community either.
Yeah, that's kind of what Ivan is for me.
He's always
believing me.
He was telling me.
What the hell, man? Where are my TikToks?
Damn it.
Great.
Did you do that TikTok?
We do that.
Shout out to Melody Confetti,
who's a part of the noir network.
Previous episode,
previous guest on the NZXT podcast.
Love her, love her.
She's great.
Miss her.
I'm upset because of the Panasonic,
but hopefully we'll all be able to see each other.
Do you say Panasonic?
I did.
I keep calling the pandemic, the panorama, and every other fan.
The Panasonic.
Yeah.
I can't remember the last time I saw a Panasonic anything.
Panasonic.
I know they make cameras.
I think the last thing I use from Panasonic.
And this is not even at all really what we're talking about,
but that's going to how I roll here.
I think the last thing you used from Panasonic was a webcam or something or like a DSLR.
The last thing we had was a camcorder.
Yeah.
For some reason, when I think of Panasonic, I think of like VHS, like tapes,
like the BCRs.
I mean, yeah,
as I'm talking about BCRs.
I remember,
random aside,
but I remember,
I thought the coolest thing ever
was this combo VHS and DVD player
that they used to have at the stores
and I worked at a,
I was when I worked at Sears way back in the day
when it was still a thing.
And I was like,
yo,
this is the Cadillac
a VCR and DVD players
so you can dub them.
That was the coolest thing ever.
I'm sorry.
Do you have any advice?
Sorry.
Terrible transition.
But do you have any advice for young creators, specifically black creators, who are starting
out?
Because I know the space is very, it's very white, right?
Like, if you look at the top of the top, right, of, like, creators, you're going to
notice a lot of white faces, you know, and I'm sure that's, you know, probably very
frustrating for you.
It's frustrating for me, right?
I hop into some of these streams, and they're just, like, they're boring.
They're like, they're like, the way they explain it to my friend of the day.
is that they're literally like unseasoned chicken, right?
Like, you can eat them and it's for everybody, but it's not good, right?
Like, and I find when I, when I hop into the more diverse streams, right, that, you know,
kind of like speaking my language a little bit more, I don't say they sound like me because
I have like the widest voice in the world, right?
It just be real.
But, but, right, but like it just seems like an overall more like fun stream.
And like I want to see more of that, like, at the top, like, you know,
shout us to all the big streamers who are on the ground
doing the thing, right?
Like, no, no hate on them.
Like, they're great at what they do.
But, like, I wanted to see more people who look more like the people that I grew up with,
right?
Or, like, the people to see, like, every day in my life.
And they ain't it for me, right?
Which is why, like, I'm super, you know,
one of the reason why I'm excited to talk to you and talk to people like Jude
and confetti and, like, all the other folks that we had on the podcast
and, you know, the others we're going to have in the future, right, folks?
I feel like it, let us know.
Yeah, so, like, if you know, if,
you can just give maybe like one or two pieces of advice or you know if you want to throw
like a whole thing you know up to you what would you say to them they just even thinking about
getting started you know not only is the state very you know the game says very white male
dominated but it's also very hostile to those that aren't that aren't that demographic right
so my recommendation to people who want to join the space um take your time do your research
and find community
find community. I feel like it's very important to find good communities because that contributes to like your longevity.
I see a lot of people burn out, get discouraged because they never really find community and they keep trying to force themselves or like fit themselves into spaces where it's not really for them,
especially if you're the type of person where certain things and, you know, racial jokes and certain microaggressions and certain things bother you.
Yeah.
There's a lot of spaces that you're probably not going to be okay in.
So find those communities, find those spaces of people who are not just to say, oh,
just to find spaces of people that look like you, but find spaces of people who are considerate of these things and are pretty much not assholes, right?
And just stay consistent.
No assholes, uh-huh.
And know that it's the internet and people are going to say all types of things.
Yeah.
And it's up to you to know whether you're going to be.
going to let it get to you or whether you're going to just let it roll off your back and keep
it pushing because there's going to be a lot of people especially if you're doing good it's going to be
a lot of people who have negative things to say about you and there's going to be a lot of people
who don't want to see you win because maybe they don't like what you stand for or they just
don't like you because you're different than them that's always kind of the sucky thing
and like I love everything you said and it's just sad that like you have to tell people like
hey, get ready for people to be shitty to you and get ready to, like, do your best and not let it affect you, right?
Because, like, that's kind of like, it's kind of how it works, right?
I hate it, but it is what it is.
Unfortunately, yeah.
And that's actually going to have got me thinking a little bit.
So for those who don't know, and I'm actually very, very, like, super uneducated on this.
So I'm going to lean on you a little bit.
I've been hearing a lot about the Twitch hate raids.
Can you kind of go into?
because I'm sure you know all about this
or everyone's talking about it.
I just haven't seen it myself
or like experience that works.
Can you like just let us know what that's about
if you're if you're able to?
Because especially like if you're starting out right,
I'm sure you're going to have to experience this stuff
at like at some point or another.
And that's what I said is important to find community
because they're targeting
a lot of like smaller creators
that are just starting out too.
But pretty much I don't know who it is.
There's someone going around
sending bot accounts.
I don't know if they found like a Twitch exploit or something.
And they're like sending bot accounts to like a bunch of like marginalized
streamers.
So like you'll be playing your game and then you look up and it's like slurs in your chat
from like 300 different accounts.
And Twitch is still like trying to, I guess trying to figure out a way to circumvent it.
I hope so because it's turned the community into shambles,
in a sense, like people are talking about leaving.
People are not wanting to make content.
People who are interested in jumping into making content are discouraged because of it.
And I hate that so much.
There's something like that is like stopping people from getting into content creation.
But, you know, everyone's, I have to respect that everyone's tolerance level to certain
things is different.
Yep.
But, yeah, it's a big, it looks like a big security issue that Twitch has to figure out
because it's way too easy to make accounts, unverified accounts at that on Twitch.
so people are just making like mass making accounts with like a bot probably probably a program
harassing people all day I estimate I guess oh yeah yeah for sure this this can't be a manual thing right
like it has to be yeah it has to be odd it's very automated it's automated it's automated and they just
it's just on go harassing people all day and you know Twitch already has moderation tools and
they tell us about the moderation tools but it's well beyond those moderation tools but also
people shouldn't have to do moderation.
Like I shouldn't have to set aside X amount of time every day
to like extra lock up my chat.
Yeah.
You know, take the extra steps to lock up my chat just to go live.
Which also limits our discoverability because,
and you know, the people that engage with us
and messes with our engagement, potential sponsorships, things like that.
Yeah.
It severely limits our engagement on a platform where I would,
I feel like the discoverability isn't the best.
So that's a big issue in itself.
Yeah.
It's pretty, it's aggravating.
And it's a lot and a lot of people are doing different things.
They're relieving.
They're making decisions to boycott.
It's pretty much all the way places.
Everyone you talk to has a different view, perspective and, you know, feeling about it.
Yeah.
I think that's why, uh, sorry to cut you off that.
But I think that's why I like what you said earlier about, you know, find community because I think it's important to have like a support group around you.
And like you were saying earlier too with like the Noir Network, how you kind of, you know, tease each other.
But in a way that you kind of like motivating each other and pushing each other to do better and be better and help each other.
And I think that same rule applies to anything in life, you know, like whether you like, you know, if you want to be a good dad, for example, you know, you know, if you want to be a good dad, for example, you know,
know there's dad groups out there you want to be a you know like a bike racer there's communities out
there you can meet other people that ride bikes and you guys help each other and i think a lot of
people don't realize that until it's too late you know and um i think especially on something
like twitch where you're kind of you're really on your own yeah and if you go if you don't have
a group of people to support you then it becomes even harder
to do what you want to do on there.
Yeah.
So that's cool.
I love what you're preaching out there.
That's awesome.
Community first.
Thank you.
Yeah.
I mean, that's,
that's kind of how we operate.
You know,
we always try to think of the community first.
Like almost to the point where like I like,
oh, like every time we had to like tweet something and this is like kind of, you know,
not super related, but like whenever we had to tweet anything that's like marketing e or like sale e,
I always make a big stink about it.
Like I know we got to do it, right?
because we got to be you know,
we got to sell stuff.
But at the time,
like,
I haven't like,
this shit's boring,
dude,
that one's gonna care.
And he's like,
you know,
but we got to do it.
You know,
because the people got to know
that,
you know,
that we still sell things,
right?
But like,
that,
you know,
like,
when,
when, like,
when I applied,
like,
one of the first things I asked is like,
you know, like,
what's your ratio of like,
bullshit boring marketing tweets
versus like cool fun,
community driven stuff.
And he's like,
like this and this and this.
Okay,
cool.
Great.
great um and i think it's it's i think in all aspects right you should be looking for community because
i think in general like humans are are are very social animals right um just in the sense that like you know
doesn't mean you have to be talking to people all the time but it's like believe it's like know that
you're in a space where you are accepted and you belong and like you're going to be safe right and like
in the sense that like you know that you can always go back for support if you ever need it um
never you need to talk to someone yep yeah and and you know i i hope that you know everyone out there
you know, can, can, can, uh, can find something like that.
You know, if not, you know, literally ask around.
I'm sure there's, you know, 10 of communities everywhere, you know.
Ask around or create it.
I'm real big on telling people to create communities.
Like, I'm super big on that.
I'm like, you don't see it.
It's a very specific niche in something you want to do, but you know, other people are out there.
Make the community.
Invite the people, find the people.
Do you think I could find a community of millennial, 30-year-old Hispanics who like video games and anime?
yes what all right let's find that okay let's go find that right now it's called fortnight
yeah they're all watching the speech right now right
Chris uh yeah no um community is important guys everyone go do community stuff go go go go ahead and
and do community or just or just join me as community because she's amazing right um no
okay uh next question um this is a little bit more serious so just prepare yourself
Okay.
What is your most anticipated album right now?
What are you waiting for to come out?
Oh, I don't have, I, I hate to say this.
I don't have one.
I haven't been following music like that.
I've been working.
That's fine.
And I kind of just rotate through music based on like, um, my mood.
So like, you might get some twerk music at night, some jazz in the morning.
And then when it's time to stream, it's all DMCA.
free music.
That's all I've been listening to is DMCA free tracks throughout my day.
Some nice copyright-free Afrobeats, if you will.
I love that phrase, by the way, copyright-free Afro beats.
That's like that seems like it should be on a shirt or something.
I just want to throw out there.
Epidemic sound is really good for me because that's another thing.
Remember how I talked about, like I felt like the industry isn't diverse, you know, in that sense.
Epidemic sound is one of the website.
has become pretty good with like diverse sounds and different like you could find hip hop beats
rnb chill music because it was a struggle it still is a struggle in a lot of senses to find like
more of a variety of copyright free music for your content so definitely go check on epidemics now
yeah i'm looking at it right now because uh you touch on something that actually i've been feeling
for a while a lot of these like free you know like royalty free dmc free type of like services
have a very similar music and stuff that I don't listen to.
Like I don't listen to EDM.
I don't listen to like video like that.
It's also not like the vibe like when I stream.
I'm not like, you know,
roop, rip, rip, rip.
Like that's not how I do it.
Like, I'm like, if I hear ooch, ooch one more time,
I'm going to ooch you.
Like I'm tired of ooch, o'ish.
That's great though.
I'm going to take a look at this for myself because I think it's cool.
Ivan, we should probably grab some of this for the NZXT thing, dude.
That might be kind of cool.
Some, uh...
A push-oosh.
Yeah, some, some, some moosh.
Um, okay.
Then the following one is,
what is your most anticipated video game?
Because I know you play games.
That I can answer.
Yeah, yeah.
That I got you.
Um, this actually have like three or four.
So there's Redfall, of course.
Okay.
There is Outlash Trials.
There is, um,
Saints Row. I'm just excited to see what the game play from all these games are going to have.
Like, I'm really hype about those three. I'm sad because Outlast Trials is supposed to come out this fall and they pushed it to like next year.
Yeah, a lot of games I hate horror. Huh?
I said a lot of games are getting pushed back right now.
So the games I was waiting for got pushed back to next year.
Yeah. I hate horror, by the way, but I like to play it with friends. I think that it's fun and it's
good content to play horror.
I would probably be...
If you play your horror is hilarious.
I'm not going to like to tip my own here.
I'm going toot my own horn here,
but I would probably be a really good horror streamer
because I hate being scared.
I don't like getting scared.
And Ivan, don't even start with saying that it's not scary
because it's not real.
Just don't stop, please.
I'm going to do it right now.
This is something that...
You scared of pixels?
Yes, yes, I am.
Like, I don't know why.
and I'm probably
just desensized to scary stuff
because I watched scary movies at a really early age
like I think I was five when I watched
Nightmare on Elm Street
so I love
horror and I never understand
when people are like scared during a scary movie
or like when they're playing a video game and they jump
because the entire time I'm watching a scary movie
or playing a scary game the entire time I'm doing that
I know it's fake
Like, I know it's not real.
I know it's just make-believe.
And, like, it doesn't scare me.
And I actually really like, I like it when it gets, like, really, really gory and freaky.
Like, it's entertaining to me more than scary.
So frustrating, Evan.
You make it so much.
I'm just like, oh, no, please don't chop his head off.
You know, it scares me, though, is, like, someone, someone creeps up behind me and taps me on the shoulder.
Like, that's freaky.
I'm going to do that from now on.
I'm going to do that from now.
I'm just going to keep sneaking up on you, dude.
I'm not to stretch you out in the office now.
I always tell Dennis that like whenever he tells me to get scared, I'm like, you know, it's not real, right?
It's not real, right? It's not real. Okay. It's still scary. I think it's still scary.
I'm like, hey, look, it's immersive enough for me to be scared. So that means they're doing a job.
Yeah. I did get scared once with the Oculus Rift on like that.
Oh, I used to play horror in VR.
I wasn't even playing horror.
I was literally like on this roller coaster.
And I was like, oh, my God, I took the helmet off.
I was like, it's too scary for me.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, because they try to give me to do that a lot.
And I was like, so you want me to break my equipment?
Is that what you tell me?
Because I can only imagine I jump in all the wires and I get, yeah, it'll turn into an accident.
Yeah, I'm looking at, sorry, I'm looking at Redfall right now.
and I remember how awesome that trailer was.
And I don't know if it was just you, but like, did you also notice the hair physics?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, because I noticed the hair physics.
I'm like, hey, look, they actually move.
Like, it's not just like a block of hair that's like, you know, textured.
I'm saying her hair looks good.
They all look good.
Everybody sound.
The voice actors sound good.
Her hair is not struggling.
We joke about this every day about the struggle braids we see in video games.
I'm like, yo, you about to put the struggle braids on?
And like, nah, I'm about the.
It's to the point where.
I'm just like, I'm going to get the little turnaround and die cut and call it a day before I pick the struggle braids because you can't do it.
Yeah, I know.
It's bad.
It's bad in some of these games.
We clown.
It's like become a regular normal occurrence for, I guess, black gamers to clown, like the crappy hair options in games.
I just, I've never heard that term struggle braids and I googled it.
And it says braids that barely get past the neck usually.
seen on people going through the struggle or people who are not patient enough.
That's neck braids.
When we talk about struggle braids, we mean like when you open up a game and the braids
all like there's the spray that spaced out and they're like lifted off the head or like,
you know, when you have like a corn row, it's on your scout.
But like in the game, it's like a big ass space.
And then like the corn row and it's just like this empty space of nothing.
But then the corn row is up here.
It's a mess.
I'm trying to find a good photo.
But like I don't think.
is even like a real, like I want to say a real term,
but like a term that people seem to use a lot, like very,
very often, because I'm trying to find it like bad braids video games,
like bad black hair video games.
Like I don't see it.
The first image that shows up when you Google struggle braids is Culeo.
Yeah, I saw Culeo.
I'm like, that's not right, dude.
He's old, dude.
He's loom alone.
Yeah.
It's funny.
I have something similar with some of my friends where we make fun of a Hispanic
characters in video games because like they always speak uh they always speak english with like that
accent and like like where's the random spanish word and it's like and say and delay my god there
go found it right that's it's it right there and for me that's that's how it is like um like um it's
it's funny that you don't like the character of octane and apex i think he's annoying i don't like octane
i think he's annoying i know people love him i think he's a great character mechanically i don't like
listening to him he bugs me yeah yeah i'm not a fan i i i don't like i
I was funny because you said it.
You said what you said.
And then I'm like,
that kind of makes me think about octane.
Well,
like a lot of them do too.
I did start thinking about octane when you said that.
Yeah.
Like I know,
like a half favorite of mine.
And I've mentioned this before is Sombra and in Overwatch.
Yeah.
Like she's great.
I think she's awesome.
I think her representation is great.
I think how she like mixes in her like Hispanic culture when like her abilities
looks really cool.
But her Spanish is like very distinctly.
like Mexico city
dialect Spanish
like it's very specific like
and that's our thing
with like Spanish in particular
is that like in all these countries
and then different parts of these countries
there's different dialects you know
it's like here in the US right like you know
and here you talk and know exactly where you're from
yeah yeah
and like it's like a
for me that's like dang you know like
I wish it was like you know
some like out in like the sticks Mexican
because I said this stuff that like
like we speak at home
you know but it's
you know it's like a love hate right
It's like I love seeing the representation.
At the same time, it's like, you know, it's not what I want,
but I also can't discount what people are seeing and like that they, you know,
enjoy it and stuff like that.
And I think overall it's like a net positive right,
as long as it's disrespectful, I have no problem with it.
You know, I'm just over the accent with the, you know,
random Spanish word thrown in there, you know?
It's like, yeah.
It's like, dude, like, I know I do it.
You don't have to come for me.
No, but I understand.
And I guess this comes from a lack of having different perspectives in the room
to provide feedback on these types of things.
Yeah.
I will see, though, it's definitely far from the worst, right?
I don't think it's bad.
It's just not, like, what I want.
But at the same time, right, like, you said, right?
If you don't like it, go out and change it, right?
Go do it yourself.
Stop complaining, go do it.
Yeah, listen to Mirra's mom.
Yeah, listen to Mir's mom.
I was going to ask you every time I have a problem.
Like, hey, like, Mom, Miram, Mom, Mama.
I don't know what we would call her.
Mama Mirra.
They call her Mama Mirra.
Mama Miri.
Yeah, Mama Mary.
Mama Mama.
Yeah.
I have trouble with this character Octane.
Can you help me?
My dad used to come in the background and lecture me while I was streaming.
You don't tell me to stop cussing and stuff.
And they're like, all shit.
Here comes.
Oh, that's my mom used to do.
She'd be like, every night, I'm like 11.
I used to hear.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
I'm like, I can't help it.
I'm trying to be quiet.
Watch your mouth, child.
Yelling all those expletives on the system.
I'm like, dad, get out of here.
This is my job.
And this is also me.
Get out of here.
Yeah.
She always be like, I didn't raise you like that.
I'm like, I know you didn't.
Like, I learned it.
I know. Right.
I learned from the world.
Hey, folks, we get a little bit of time left.
If anybody online has any questions,
actually, we do have some questions.
Let's see here.
Is Mira hyped for the new God of War Ragnarok?
I've never played God of War, but I would like to.
I played one of them like once.
I would like to.
If I could ever get my hands on a problem.
PlayStation 5.
I know.
Or get it on PC or something.
I want a PS 5 just for getting around yelling, boy.
Boy.
Never played.
I saw someone talk about that game and they were like, just give him a hug.
Just hug your kid.
Dude, just once.
Please do it for me.
Right.
Just show them some love.
Damn.
Yeah.
Boy.
Yeah.
I think I played God of War I won on the PS4 via PlayStation Now, and that was a
terrible experience.
That was not.
Because it would like lag all the time and it would lose connection.
And it would also like just quit out on me.
And I would lose like an hour of progress.
And I was like the most frustrating thing.
Like I'm like on a person where if I lose a save or if I lose like 30 to 40 minutes in a game,
I'm likely never just to play it again.
Because I'm like, you're literally wasting my time.
Why do you hate me so much?
I'm trying to show you my love.
And you're just hitting me.
Virtually, of course.
I don't know to pronounce his name.
Aeneer rude.
I'm not going to try.
Mira, have you played Siege? Let's have a match.
I have never played Siege.
So we're trying to 1B1.
That game from what I see
is super toxic, but it is something
that I also would like to try to play
one day. It is. It's got to give me
some more hard drive space because the hard drive space
my current computer is a little small.
Yeah, Siege is...
It's a couple of games. I'm out of space all the time.
I want to play Call of Duty, too.
I've tried multiple times.
to get into that game and between the people yelling at me and just like how it performs on like most
PCs I can't do it I can't and also yeah and and like also it takes like a million gigabytes
on your PC so it's like oh my god yeah that's like a whole half of a hard drive yeah it's literally like
you have to like make some real tough decisions about your computer before you install that game
it's like it's like a really terrible choice yeah it's the lay requires some serious life choices
I don't know if I should move forward.
I've never had such a moral dilemma than when installing that game.
Like, I don't think I've ever had that problem before.
And, like, it's like choosing, like, which kid, you know, to, like, save or something, right?
Mm-hmm.
What should I delete?
Yeah, I delete.
Like, all the duty.
Yeah.
And then there's, like, there's those games you keep installed just to keep installed.
Because you never know.
Maybe one day you'll play them and you never do.
But they sit there on the off chance, you mean, so when they click it one day when you're bored.
I did that a lot
But with this current hard drive
I don't have a space to do that
So there's only like two or three games installed right now
I had to put that by daylight back
I missed that by day late
If you're liking storage
I feel like somebody out there
Should be able to help Mira
I don't know who it is
You know I'm sure there's a bunch of
People, Organizations, groups
Who'd be willing to throw a hard drive at least
You know or something I don't know
I don't know anybody
I'm just a podcaster.
That's all I do here.
So,
Samira,
we're coming up on the,
on the hour right now.
We usually kind of go to like 1130-ish.
So if you got to leave right away,
totally cool,
no problem.
Glad to have you.
If you're down to stay for a little bit longer,
up to you.
Whatever you want,
the world is your oyster.
We're just in your space right now.
I can stay for an extra 10.
You hear that Ivan?
10 minutes.
Give us 10 minutes of good content.
So then I have a question for Miram itself.
Did you happen to see
this Tony Hawk
skateboard thing that came out yesterday?
Yeah, no, as I saw it, by way of
a little Naz-X statement on it. I guess
the skateboards include blood or something.
Yeah, and that's what I bring it up is because
I'm curious to hear your opinion on it.
Because Little Nas-X was saying there's kind of like a double,
or not kind of, but saying that it is a double standard
because, you know, when he came out with his
Nike shoe with blood. You know, there was like a ton of outrage over it and people trying to
actually cancel him over it. And with Tony Hawk, it's like everyone's saying, oh, cool, you know,
this guy's putting blood on his skateboard. So I don't know, what do you think? Like,
do you think that's a little Nazex is correct there? Or what's your view on that?
Some degree. I feel like there are differences between, I guess, the way the world takes it because
one is a well-known white man
and as far as I know Tony Hawk is straight
well Nazex is a gay black man
so there may be some prejudice there
in how the public receives it also on the flip side
wasn't there some like demonic aspects
to the blood on the sneaker stuff?
It was like a satanic shoe
it was like a satan yeah so then there's like
that's like the Christian group you know what I'm saying
like the Christian audience that's like what no what
yeah you know the devil
I'm not a fan of
I'm not a fan of Little Nas X music
but I love him as a human
I love that this person exists
because he's just so far out there
and he does so many like things
that people don't expect him to do
and he's not shy
to just be very vocal when like he feels a certain way
so yeah I was just curious what you thought about
I'm on the same way I'm kind of thinking
like he's kind of right, but the same time, like, dude, you kill with the devil's shoo.
Yeah, it was, yeah, because it's, you know, demonic and that's different.
That's also a whole nother audience of people that's like, blasphemy.
What are you doing?
I will say, though, I feel like it's kind of, and this is like my personal thought, right?
I'm putting the Dennis hat on right now.
I think it's kind of shitty that like Tony Hogg is doing this thing with the blood,
because I feel like there was a decision made knowing that Lil Nas X went through
all this hate and they probably said this will be fine for us right like we'll be okay no one's
going to get angry at us if we do it if we put blood on a skateboard right i feel like there's like
like i i remember the last time someone talked about putting blood in like a product and selling it right
and then we have these two subsequent you know like these these these these these two situations
and i feel like it's also kind of like it's hard for me to articulate how i'm trying to get this
across but like i feel like they're almost kind of like writing on the fact that it got so much
hate and using it for themselves in almost kind of like a privileged position, right,
knowing that they're not going to get as much.
Because I feel like if they knew they would get that much backlash, they probably wouldn't
have done it.
Yeah, they wouldn't have done it.
Yeah.
That's my hot take for the day, guys.
I'm out.
You guys and send all, if you think this take was bad, you can just hit me up on Twitter.
Good luck finding it.
It's not hard, but yeah.
Did you know I put my blood in a computer one time?
What?
Yeah.
We all have at one point.
When we were, you know, back in the day before we actually had builders at NZXT, you know, we had to build our own computers for things.
And we were filming a commercial for the HUE Plus when it first came out.
And we were building like a custom water cooled computer with like red liquid of all things.
So it kind of worked out.
But anyway, I cut my, I cut my finger as I was building this thing.
And I was like, you know what?
It'd be kind of cool.
I put my blood in his computer.
So I literally just put a couple drops of my blood in that computer
and it ended up coming up in that commercial.
I thought that was kind of cool.
Where did the computer end up?
Oh, my.
And actually, funny, you ask,
I just took it out of the marketing room
and gave it away to someone in the office.
Yeah.
It's probably grody as hell dude.
What the heck?
Yeah, that lately hasn't been changed since, like, in six years.
Oh, my.
I gave him the warning, yeah.
I, I don't.
I don't know what happens to liquid cooling after six years.
I feel like it'd be like moldy or something, right?
I'm sure it's something grows in it back to.
It's probably not a good thing.
Yeah.
I feel like at that point you'd throw the whole computer away.
Yeah.
See, I thought you were going to go with like all of us builders at some point have like bled on their computers because when you put in that stupid I.O. shield when they used to be separate from the motherboard, you would cut yourself on the thing.
Not so much anymore.
I mean, he still kind of can because there's little like little holes or whatever and the things are still.
kind of sharp but I remember that I was like almost like a market like pride like
you know I cut myself on my computer yeah it's like that's not very safe
bullshit yeah I have not I only reason why I haven't is because I'm very nervous about
motherboard I'm very weird about motherboards I wouldn't I wouldn't say goes for I say
scared but mother dealing with motherboards and like how sensitive it is makes me a bit nervous
I switch out hard drives, I switch out RAM, I switch out power supply, I've messed with everything else in my computer.
Like the motherboard, I kind of just stay away from it.
And I got to like get past that.
What kind of computer do you have?
It's a corsair.
Let me see.
I have this CLX gaming PC that is like a pre-built.
I just get pre-built, so let me see.
I've had for three, four years.
You should put some blood on that, auction it off or something.
You know what?
Somebody actually would buy that.
I think somebody would buy that?
I think that's the next thing, yeah, like adding blood to stuff and sell it, you know.
It was NFTs and now it's blood.
Yeah, pretty much.
People are like.
What about a NFT that has your blood's DNA sequence
that will helix up inside the NFT code?
Next level, someone hit me up.
I'm selling this idea right now.
And the way you unlock the NFT code
is by completing the crate challenge.
Oh, no.
I'm out of here.
You're seeing people crack their heads.
Oh, my God.
It's so good.
I mean,
oh boy, how to go fund me with three scratch.
scratches on his face. I'm not doing that.
That's actually a pretty good hustle.
Just like to hurt yourself on these dumb challenges.
You don't try this thing.
He only got $30.
That's $30 more than he had before.
I mean, right, a couple scratches.
I mean, you know, I ain't the richest man in the world.
30 bucks and go a long way these days.
You guys want to know what's funny is the price of milk crates has gone up exponentially on Amazon.
Shut up.
Shut up.
They were not selling.
They never sold milk crates
Now they're selling them
You should have no way
MilkraidsDirect.com
That's the website
Yeah
It's funny
Oh my God
We should get into the milk crate business
Ivan
We should start selling milk crates
Or we ship our PCs in milk crates
How about that?
Every PC you buy enough
You get enough to do the challenge
There you go
Business Professional
Again another banger

Don't steal it
Patent pending
Anyway
Before we close it off, Mira, and set you free to be super busy and take over the world one amazing stream at a time and project at a time.
Do you have any parting words for the fans?
Any questions for us?
Anything like that?
Let me think.
My parting words is take care of yourselves.
Protect your peace.
Prioritize yourself care.
I know we work in, you know, we live in a world where it's like you have to, you know, the way the economy and the way the world that we live in is set up where, you know, got to work really hard, but make sure you take care of yourself.
Yep.
Self care. Learn to slow down is something that I'm actively fighting every day.
Value your rest, even though that's something that I'm actively fighting every day.
Preach, preach.
Yeah, like, you got to take care of ourselves.
This is a very hectic world, very hectic industry, and it's a super hectic.
economic economy right now, but take care of yourselves.
But also, let me see. Questions for y'all?
Questions do I have? If I wanted to learn how to like build, what do you recommend I do?
Because I do want to learn how to build and buy parts.
So it's actually pretty hard. And I think what we should do is fly you out and have you
build a computer into a video for it. Actually, it would be pretty funny.
It would be hilarious.
That would be hilarious to watch you do that.
not for the reasons you think it would be funny.
And you guys can make of that whatever you will.
But no, it's, you know, it's really funny you say that because I feel like RAM is probably the scariest part for me.
Because I feel like jamming those things in on that corner of the board has always freaked me out.
Like, do you hear it creak and it's like, my heart stops.
You think you did something.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
They're like computer parts are equally the most like tough and also the weakest things in the world.
Like it makes zero sense.
I don't know how they how they managed to make that work.
Yeah, actually, over the weekend, I built a computer for my godson because he was too scared to do it himself.
Like he did all this research.
He watched pretty much like every Linus TechTip video, you know, all these blogs.
He had like all these lists.
He ordered all these awesome parts.
He had everything.
And he was just too scared to touch this stuff.
Like he kept everything wrapped in the.
box and I went over to his house and I'm like look man I know you're scared but trust me
it's not you're not going to break stuff like this stuff's meant to like be kind of durable like
you're not going to break it and even if you do break it guess what there's a warranty you can return
it you'll get another one it's not a big deal I work at a computer company too so this thing
just blows up like I'll bring in a computer to your house tomorrow so don't worry about it
and once I told him that he kind of relaxed and I walked him through it so my advice is yeah just
relax it's not complicated there's only 10 parts to a computer if you really think about it you got
your motherboard your RAM your CPU your GPU your fans your case your power supply your cooler
what's the other two i'm missing here uh i guess uh your SSD and if needed an hd so yeah 10 parts
So it's not, you know, it looks very intimidating if you've never done it.
I definitely understand that.
But if you think about it, all right, it's 10 things you have to connect.
That's it.
Just plug those 10 things in and you're good to go.
And don't forget to put a Funko Pop inside the case too.
That's a...
I'm actually...
I'm cute.
Five, six, seven, eight.
I'm seeing only eight items here, Ivan, on PC Part Picker.
So I think you're wrong.
CPU.
Cool.
cooler motherboard memory right is your ram storage so you put it on the one bucket right video card
case power supply rgb rg okay yeah rgb and funkal pop yeah funkal pop yeah or or alternatively
a anime figurine right you put your wifu in your case or your or your or your husbando right if you if you're
you know if you're if you're down for the for the cute anime dudes um and then all the stickers you bomb your
that's the last piece
yeah
all right
with that folks
you hear that
ending music there
don't forget
please please please if you didn't
do the gleam
do the gleam I don't know
I think I said it for like 12 or something
so you still have time
if you're listening to it live
if not then you're missing out
sorry too bad but hey thanks for listening
but if you haven't done the gleam
and you're not listening live
or you are listening live and just I guess don't want
for your stuff I don't know
I'm going on tangent here
