Starting point is 00:00:17 every Wednesdays. Every single Wednesday. Every single Wednesday. Hey, hi. Hello, everybody. How you doing? Hello and welcome the episode 107 of the NXT podcast, the official podcast of the NZC community.
Starting point is 00:00:37 This podcast is recorded live every Thursday at 10 a 10m, Pacific Center time of the official NZXT Twitch is available to stream on the man on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcast, Spotify, and SoundCloud. So super glue those AirPods into those sound holes because you don't want to miss this. My name is Dennis and with me as always is Ivan. Hello, Dennis.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Hi. Happy birthday and happy international podcast day, my friend. Thanks. It's like the best of both worlds, right? My birthday and the podcast is almost as if like it was meant to be for me to work here and start off a podcast for everybody. Dennis actually requested the day off today and I was like, are you crazy? It's international podcast day. You're a podcaster.
Starting point is 00:01:19 You have to work this day. By the way, it's also a very special year for you. It is your Jesus here, Dennis. So you do have to do something important this year. Don't waste it. Yeah. What are we doing? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I was telling you earlier, I got married in my Jesus year. I'm not telling you to get married, but you definitely should... Let me delete this vaude real quick. Take a look at your life, man, because literally you're one-third to 100. So what are you going to do in the second third and the third third? Yeah, man. The first third of your first hundred years on this planet, it's gone. If I can inject a little bit of Zoom or humor into this, I can say,
Starting point is 00:02:05 who's saying that I plan to be around that long? But anyways, it is international podcast. It is also Latinx heritage month. So that is a great reason why we have our guests with us today, Mr. Danny Pena. How you doing? Hey, how you doing, guys? First of all, thank you for the invitation, man. It's been, I know we talked about this for a while now,
Starting point is 00:02:28 but I'm very excited to talk to you guys, man, about podcasting and everything else, man. So I'm excited. Thanks. You know, it's always funny. Like, we have, like, a preset, like, list of questions that we want to talk to you about. And then every time we do a pre-show with someone,
Starting point is 00:02:42 we're like, okay, actually, forget all that. We're going to talk about this now. So we got to, we got some cool stuff, folks. So for those who don't know, Danny, I think just like almost every other guests you have, you're just like just so much in the industry. Danny's a podcaster, a public speaker, a filmmaker, content creator, apparently huge in the world of hip hop. People know him. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:03:08 He goes to shows. People like, yo, Danny, what's good? You know, how you've been? All kinds of stuff. So, Danny, can you just go a little bit into just who you are, what you've been doing, how long you've been around? Yeah. Yeah, I live right now in Los Angeles. I've been podcasting now and creating content for over 20 years now.
Starting point is 00:03:28 And yeah, I have a podcast called Gamer Tag Radio, which got created back in February 25th, 2005. We already have over 11, 1,100 episodes now. First podcast to reach 1,000 episodes, by the way. And yeah, yeah. So what we do, we talk about games. We have a lot of guests from the industry. Just recently, a couple of months back, I interviewed Reggie Fizome. He was the former president of Nintendo of America. I had Bill Spencer, a head of Xbox, Peter Moore.
Starting point is 00:04:03 I had him multiple times on the show when he was on Xbox or when he was president of EA sports and EA. And then I had him recently a couple of years back. We talked about the 20th, the 20th, at the of Sega Dreamcast because that's like my old time one of my old time favorite consoles out there man so but yeah so yeah that's what I do man I create content I do a lot of speaking engagements about podcasting because back in 2015 I also was inducted to all podcast Hall of Fame and and I just love to give back and give tips to two podcasts man you know because I really want other people to do to do their own
Starting point is 00:04:41 thing and and create some cool content you know so me me and Dennis are bands from the podcasting Hall of Fame. They won't let us in there. Oh, they won't. Yeah. Yeah. That's really cool, man. Like, you've been podcasting for a long time.
Starting point is 00:04:56 And, you know, Dennis and I, we were bragging that we made it to 100 episodes, but you have over a thousand. That's like, that's crazy. That's a lot of episodes. Hey, 100 episodes is a lot, man. You know, there's people that don't even reach 10. You know what I'm saying? They don't.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Yeah. No, when we started the podcast, I brought up this stat to Dennis. that most podcast only last six episodes. So I told Dennis, all right, our mission here is to just, let's just do one more than six. Let's do seven episodes. If you could do seven episodes, you did it.
Starting point is 00:05:28 We're literally better than most people who are podcasting. Fast forward two years later and we're still doing this thing. So maybe one day we'll get to 1,000 and maybe we'll be in the Hall of Fame, Dennis. Yeah, yeah. And let me tell you this, man. Like when I when I started my show back in the days because I originally I had a internet radio show. So let me go a little bit back how I came with this idea. So in around 1998, during that time, I was into, I was doing a lot of promotion for for music labels and parties in Miami, Florida from the hip pop scene over there.
Starting point is 00:06:05 And I went to one of my friends's house and using his computer through a 56k model. I found this website, this show called 88 hip hop, and it was Nas that was doing like a live interview and then freestyle. So then I was like, oh my God, I want to do this. So you could broadcast instead of local radio, you could broadcast worldwide with this. So we tried to do this back in 1998 and it was just so expensive and the technology wasn't there. So fast forward around 2001, Sega Dreamcast is already out. out this game already also launched too called Fannie Star Online, which is one of my favorite games out there too.
Starting point is 00:06:48 So I love the community and I decided let me just create a show just about PSO. So I called it PSO radio. So I did it for a couple months and it was cool. I uploaded to this website called NP2.com and that website was for was created for music artists. So if you listen to an artist through there, don't get paid for. from that, right? So I was like, wait a minute. So I get free hosting.
Starting point is 00:07:15 If I could put up my show there and people listen to it, I'm going to get paid. So the first check that I received from that was 500 bucks back in 01. And then I said to myself, damn, I could create a business out of this, man. So I did that for a while. Then at the end of that year, two months after 9-11 in New York City, I heard that Xbox and Nintendo were in town promoting their new console. So I showed up with my tape recorder, because that's how I used to record my shows, tape recorder and a video camera. And I just started interviewing people that were there at the event.
Starting point is 00:07:51 And I got a media badge from both events. And I got backstage VIP access to try other games and talk to the developers that worked on these games, especially like Halo and stuff like that. Right. So I did that. And at the same time, I was part of a tournament that they had. at the Xbox event and I was trying to get a free trip to Cancun so that didn't well that didn't go well for me I did terrible with the event they had dead alive and Tony Hawk and Project got them in a bunch of other games there so my
Starting point is 00:08:26 score was terrible but I lasted there for 24 48 hours so then at the end the team at Xbox surprised everyone that they were there for 48 hours and they gave all of us a free Xbox to take home two weeks after that they called me to go to the launch event 20 years ago in Times Square. I go over there and they said, Danny, we want you and others to play video games with Bill Gates. So then I was like, oh my God, I was freaking out. I was like, wait, what? Because they wanted us to do that in front of the media.
Starting point is 00:08:57 So all the all the media outlets were there, CNN, New York Times, and they took pictures. So if you look at my name online, put Bill Gates, you'll see pictures of it out there. So yeah, that's like this video. Yeah. And ever since then, I was like, man this is so cool i got access to all this stuff just because i love creating content let me just continue and and from there on i created a game attack written and the rest is history man you know but what uh what video game does bill gates play none actually because the one they were playing uh it was actually probably his first time playing and it was a fusion frenzy it was like a
Starting point is 00:09:31 party kind of like mario margaret party that's a really good game yeah but he doesn't play no games It was terrible. And that's a really, really awesome story because I vividly remember, you know, the 90s and how, like, this new technology called the internet was, you know, as a music, I'm a music fan myself, like you, you know. And I remember, I remember going on websites like MP3.com and for the first time being able to, like, download a file that I could listen to. And like we I feel like now like it's crazy you kind of you don't think of it as like a big deal. But back then, man, that was like the coolest thing in the world if you were a music fan. Because you could download so many different types of music now without having to buy a physical disc or whatever. And it was like life changing.
Starting point is 00:10:31 I actually remember getting a cease and desist from. I think it was Sony at the time. Someone for downloading Dr. Dre's The Chronic and Metallica's Black Album. I got in trouble for her talent-losing that. Was it through Napster? Napster? Napster or LimeWire, one of those two. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Oh, my God. Yeah, Lime wire, a lot of spy wearing that one. You're right though, man. It must have been super expensive to just even get fast internet during that time so you can do a show, you know. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I did it for a while with 2056K connection. And then it is, it was terrible doing it through there because I'm uploading my audio.
Starting point is 00:11:21 If somebody calls the line, it gets disconnected. So after like, from scratch, I have to upload it again. I'm like, ah, it's going to take forever. But then I finally got DSL a little, a little bit faster. It's smoother for me to upload content like that, you know. Yeah. And a big difference to how it is now where it's like, I mean, you could, if you have a phone, you could do a podcast basically, no. The quality might not be, you know, the best, but you don't need, you know, like an actual studio nowadays. Like you used to back then, I guess, almost to run a show. It's like just open up your phone and record and you're good to go.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Yeah. I mean, I think what's important. to me more than anything is the content like if if you just have a phone create create content through there man there's people that record videos throw their phone and it goes viral you know because of the whatever it is that they have out there it could it's just the the content that gets people's attention you know so you know back then i i didn't have the equipment i did everything through a tape recording it was the crappy audio you know but years later when i launched gtr i did i recorded everything through the using the the halo two lobby on Xbox Live.
Starting point is 00:12:37 I really invite people from there. Yeah, yeah. I did like that for a while. Yeah. I'm like, I'm going to get 15 other people to join me and we're just going to talk about issues that's going out with Halo 2 or whatever.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Whatever topic of it is. Yeah, and the quality back then wasn't that great. You know what I'm saying? But I did it. And I even did interviews like that too. I remember talking to Mitchell Nelson at Xbox for the first time through the Halo 2 lobby.
Starting point is 00:13:05 and a couple of the people I did like that, man, because there was no Skype, there was none of that back then, you know what I'm saying? So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, or a AOL instant messenger and that was another one too. Or that one too, yeah. Yeah, yeah. And, you know, in that time since, so did, when you started Gamer Tag Radio was, and you said you kind of got started because you were listening to Nas, like, did it start out as like just like a hip-hop thing? Well, actually it started out because my, dad was a DJ, Spanish DJ in the Republic. So I'm seeing all his equipment. Like I even have a picture of me messing around with his tape recorder and radio and speakers. So I was always interested about that stuff. And then, you know, growing up as a teenager in Miami, we will get invited to DJ at different stations. But a lot of those stations were private stations that it was illegal. It was not, you know, legit.
Starting point is 00:14:05 stations, you know, with licenses. So we would do that. And at that time, Miami was known as the number one city with the most pirate stations in the country. Yeah, but everybody, everybody had their stations of like hip hop, uh, reggae, you know, Spanish, a talk radio. But we would do that or go to like college radio locally too and just do that. And I just love doing it, man. And then, uh, I discover the whole radio, internet radio, that's what I'm like, man, I got to do this online. This is, I think this is the future, you know, so. Yeah. Dennis, can you imagine if your dad was a DJ?
Starting point is 00:14:40 I can't. I'm trying to imagine my dad is a DJ and I'm just like, I can never see him doing that. Well, hold on. Let me see. Let me see my. I was about to ask if he has like a, if, if it was like his, like, dad's like voice when he would do radio. He's like, every radio person that has like a radio voice, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Yeah. So let me, let me show you this because I have a. Just a couple of vials because the rest I have it somewhere else, but this is a Nasomatic album, the vinyl, original original one. And if you're if you're old school and you live here and Cali, it's also submissif, you know, that's a hard glyphics, back in the days. Yeah, yeah. 93 till infinity. Yeah, yeah. Classic.
Starting point is 00:15:27 So yeah, so I collect a lot of vials, man. I love music, too. Yeah, I collect a lot of vinyl too, but I collect mostly rock. I don't have... Rock, though. I don't have many hip-hop records. I have a few. But that Naus El-Matic, that like Dennis, every once in a while Dennis and I will get into, like,
Starting point is 00:15:48 what are the greatest rappers of all time discussion, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's cool. Like, top three, Nas, number one. Yes. And number two, I'm going to do. say Mob deep. Mob deep.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Okay. That's a good one. Number three, I'm going to say Wootang. Wu, Tang. Like, those three albums of Elmatic, The Infamous. Infamous. And 36 Chambers.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Like, those three hip-hop albums, like, to this day, you know, 30 years later, cannot be beat by anything. Now, for me, I love, as, like, MCs I like I love Keros one old school very old school I like him naz you know I like I like lyrically he's like he's freaking amazing man I just wish he just launched a he just opened a new a new restaurant called mom spaghetti yeah yeah yeah that's that's genius so like oh my god it's awesome yeah yeah yeah yeah but look if
Starting point is 00:16:59 you're if you guys are really into uh gaming and hip hop you know back back in the days during the playstation days uh wu tan clang had a finding game and uh they create they recorded exclusive tracks just for that game so if you go online if you look online and search on youtube you probably find like some of their some of their songs from that from that game that's never been released publicly so yeah i remember that game shell and style right yeah i think that's yeah yeah yeah yeah 99 developers. That was during the time when they literally made a video game for everything. Like anything that was popular, like, oh, let's just make a video game for it.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Yeah. Yeah. Like, oh, Shaquille O'Neal, you're good at basketball. You should make a video game. Shaq Fu. Do you remember the Def Jam fighting game? Yeah. Oh, Death Amigena?
Starting point is 00:17:49 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, actually, I sat down with, I don't know if you guys know, Noriega, Norie. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I set that with him because I helped him and DJFN, which we went to school in Miami.
Starting point is 00:18:05 I helped them launch Dream Champs, their hip-hop podcast. So I asked them, like, dude, how was they experienced being part of that game, man, the Dev Jam game? He's like, whoa, you know, I don't, they just put me in the booth and I just had to do some sound and they motion capture. That's great. Yeah, yeah, which explains to me, almost cracking up. I'm like, oh, man, that was cool. I really wonder how the conversation went, too. It's like, hey, can you just make some noises?
Starting point is 00:18:34 Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Yeah. You mentioned Noriega. Like, what other hip-hop artists have you met throughout the years? Oof, I have a lot. Karis I met a, actually, I interviewed Warren G. Cyprus.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Oh, man. I almost had an interview with Eminem. Very close, but last minute. They were like, no. I almost had to interview him with Logic and Mac Miller, rest in peace. Yeah. Yeah, because they're a huge gamer. So I talked to the team, but it was because of schedule, we couldn't make it happen.
Starting point is 00:19:11 But who else, man? Wu-Tang, I had a master killer. I have a crazy, funny story about Metta Man. This is hilarious. So I had two opportunities into we met them, man. So the first one was at a club in. in Miami that he was their performance and I wanted to interview him because they had a song at that time or uh saints row the saints row game right so I showed up and I'm like I know met them as a
Starting point is 00:19:42 huge gamer you know he he's been playing games for years so I was ready and something happened that he got mad at the event I think it was because the sound was was terrible so he got mad to his performance then it came out great so when he went backstage he just didn't want to talk to anyone I was like, oh my God. So interview canceled. Fast for a couple years after that, he was at E3 with Red Man, and they were promoting the karaoke game that Dev Jam had.
Starting point is 00:20:09 It was called Dev Jam Rapstar, something like that. And I was supposed to interview Metta Man and Red Man together to talk about the game. So I'm about to take him to the room with Red Man. BBC grabs Metta Man and takes him away, and only Red Man stage with me. I'm like, well, he's like, well, I don't know what to do. I'm like, no, no, no, let's just record. So every time I try to interview,
Starting point is 00:20:34 Metta Man, something happens, like, it never goes through. So, but yeah, that's my goal. I got into him, but I interviewed him. I interviewed, oh my gosh, so many, it's a lot of artists, dude. It's a lot. Delaso, Tricot Quest, Five Dog, twice for, for this, for one of the NBA 2K games. And the first one was before I created.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Gimmerted Gimmertagherty was like 1998 because I was writing for a hip-hop newspaper in Miami too so it's a long list it's a long list man but yeah you do you remember the the Cribs episode with Redder Man yes yes he showed uh he showed uh the dream cast and this yeah apartment everything yeah I remember those every like he like he like sleeps on the couch and he had a shoebox full of money yeah yeah I remember that but he was like he was like yeah he was like so So, I don't know what the word is. Like, he was just so, like, did not care about, you know, being famous. He was just like, I live in an apartment. I play Dreamcast. Yeah, I'm rich, but I have all my money in the shoebox. No, the funniest.
Starting point is 00:21:40 The funniest thing, seeing, I think his cousin sleeping. Yeah. That was hilarious. I think that started, like, a whole, like a whole slew of, like, other cribs where dudes are just like, this is like my mom's house, right? Or something. Yeah. Come check it out.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Oh, you know what? One time I bump into. Ray Kwan at E3 and I just did enter right down the spot. He was like, let's do it. He was, uh, he came out for the Camcom booth and I was like, what are you doing here? Because I've never heard him like into gaming. He's like, nah,
Starting point is 00:22:10 I'm working on a project. You know what I'm saying? You know, I can't say what it is, but I'm doing something with Camcom for the new game, Street Fighter, you know what I mean? I'm like, okay. And he did like a mix-aid for them for one other games. Yeah. I also have a funny encounter with a hip-hop artist if you guys want to hear it.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Yeah, go for it. All right, so this was like 20 years ago. I think it was like 2002. And at the time I was living in Anaheim and the Anaheim Angels, they were in the in the World Series against the Giants. And it was, you know, huge, huge deal for the. angels. I'm not an Angels fan, but I'm a baseball. I'm a huge baseball fan, so I was like, you know, I'm going to go down across the street from the stadium so I can just watch the game and, like, with other baseball fans, basically. But because I'm not an Angels fan, and I was like,
Starting point is 00:23:08 okay, I'm not going to wear any Angels gear because I don't have any because I'm not an angel's fan. And I'm not going to wear Dodgers gear just because I don't want to hear crap from Angels fans. I just want to go and watch the game. I just want to sit there in silence and, like, you know, just watch baseball. So I'm going to put on a Raiders. jersey instead. Oh Lord. So I wear my Raiders jersey. I go to the bar. It's called... Actually, you know what, Dennis? I think this bar might still be there. Because you live across the street from Angel Stadium now. It's called The Catch. It's like right across the street. Is that still there? Yeah, so there. All right. So I'm at the catch, you know, eating my,
Starting point is 00:23:44 my dinner, watching baseball, drinking a beer. And this guy walked up to me wearing a Raiders jersey, and he goes, that's right, that's right, that's right, that's right, and he just gives me a fist bump. And I had no idea what he was talking about, but then I was like, oh, yeah, he's wearing a Raiders jersey. He must be a Raiders fan. And then he goes, he goes, all right, man, later. And like, that's it. Like all he said, he's like, that's right and later. And then my friend goes, do you know who that was?
Starting point is 00:24:14 And I looked at him like, oh, man, that was Warren G. Oh, Warren G. Warren G was in there wearing a Raiders jersey watching the baseball game. That's funny. he's a huge gamer man huge I remember when I interviewed him he was excited that call the dude was coming out on his birthday that the G stands for gamer
Starting point is 00:24:33 it's actually warring gamer Warren gamer there you go He knew way back then right So Danny I want to ask you real quick How'd you get hooked up with your cohorts on your podcast Oof man we all met through different ways like Paris
Starting point is 00:24:51 he he actually saw me on a on a video interview for Xbox because I was I was checking out their one of the games that it was about to release from EA and Xbox so
Starting point is 00:25:06 he saw it and hit me up and I was on vacation I remember and he was like yo I just I would like to do the same thing as you want to create my own show can you give me some tips so when I got back and I checked out the email
Starting point is 00:25:19 I replied to him gave me some tips and we just became really good friends and then he stopped podcasting because his co-host got a job in the industry and one day we recorded an episode about Bioshock Infinite because we love Bioshock
Starting point is 00:25:33 so I told him hey you want to be on the show he's like sure and we did it and everyone was like man you guys you guys work pretty good together man you guys got to do something man maybe maybe if Paris would like to join GTR so I asked him my calls
Starting point is 00:25:49 and I asked him and he's like sure but I'll do it part-time and so on. And from there on, he's been full-time with us, man, you know? So shout to Paris. And also, Peter, I met him because his wife used to work with me when I used to work at Discovery Channel, Atlanta, America back in the day.
Starting point is 00:26:07 So he just came to my house. I had a, I remember I got a guitar hero before he came out. So I did like a little guitar hero party. And we started playing. And I just, we just vibe. And from there, I told them to be part of DTR a couple of weeks after that, man. So, yes, that's how that's how we met, man. But a lot of other ones, it was just through Xbox Live or playing games online or social media like that.
Starting point is 00:26:34 So. That's awesome. That's really really cool. Yeah. If you've seen the press conference that Xbox had during E3, my co-host was the one that hosts of that. Yeah, the showcase for Xbox. In Paris, right? Millions and Paris.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Yep. Millions and minutes of people got to watch. Yeah, he, uh, he used to tweet at us like all the time about stuff. Uh, think about when I first started. And I remember talking to Ivan. I'm like, Ivan, like, who's this Paris guy? He just keeps tweeting at us like every other day about this and that. And it's like, oh, yeah, that's the, you know, this guy and that guy. I'm like, okay, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, totally knows who he is. Yeah, yeah. Did you say that you worked at the Discovery Channel? Yeah, yeah, I had a show there, too. I had a, I, I used to work there for, um, yeah, I, I used to work there for,
Starting point is 00:27:21 I do a lot of like production work behind the scenes and then they heard about my show, Gimmertag Tag Radio and they said, hey, if you like to do a show for us, let's see how it works. I'm like, yeah, I'll do it. And I did it for like a year or so. And yeah, they had my promo air airing all over Latin America because I'll do it in English and they'll show it at subtitles in Spanish or Portuguese. But they have to watch the content I created, they had to go to the website to see it. So I had a bunch of people there, man. at that time three four three um i had remedy to talk about uh allen wake like a bunch of bunch of the ones PlayStation about uh playstation via years back yeah you've had a a long and interesting career my friend very random too yeah it's you know it does seem a little random to be honest just like you know it was like and you just throw it so casually too like yeah i had a show on
Starting point is 00:28:18 the discovery channel and like yeah yeah i think about it like Like, that makes me so crazy to just, you know, have a show and then, you know, being, being Latino and then having them air that show in Latin America. And, but it's like you recorded it in English and then they dubbed it in Spanish. It's just like so random, yeah. Yeah, I mean, you know what? At the end of the day, I want to show people, especially, especially Latinos, that we could do it. too, man. You know, uh, sometimes we're out here. Sometimes we, people feel like they, they feel left out.
Starting point is 00:28:59 So like when I went to Dominican Republic a couple years back, because I just want to, you know, get to know more about the gaming community over there and, and I want to learn about the gaming developers. That was one of the biggest things that I will bring up is we feel left out over here. So ever since then, I try my best to get others that I know from that. the gaming industry for us to give back and do like workshops or or things that will inspire them to work even harder you know back then when i was growing up i didn't have that back then you know at latinos like my parents yo they only had the money for either pay the bills or once in a while for us to travel to dominican republic you know stuff like that and and that's it you know when i
Starting point is 00:29:48 asked my mom, hey mom, can you buy me a Nintendo or whatever? She's like, nah, it's too much money. Like next time, I'm like, oh my God. So I will get those, you know, quarters and I'll go and play some arcades, you know. And then my grandmother was the one that completely changed my life because she, not knowing anything about video games, she bought me on Atari 2600 when I was a little kid. The classic. Yeah, she bought three, three of those consoles. And she gave me one and the other two was from my other cousins.
Starting point is 00:30:16 And I became a huge gamer, a huge fan of games because of her, you know, and she had no idea what she was doing. But look now, because of her, I'm doing my content creation. I'm really into gaming. And a couple of years back, I randomly met with the creator, the founder of Altari. And I sat down with him and I told him, I thanked him, you know, for creating that little device because that's the reason why I'm doing this. this now, you know, but yeah, like I said, I definitely want to help out our Latino country creators, man. I just want to inspire them as much as I can, you know. Yeah, and, you know, Dennis and I feel the exact same way, you know, we're first generation, uh, Americans, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:03 our parents are immigrants from Latin America. And, you know, when, when it came time, you know, like, you know, we look at the calendar, we're like, okay, like, it's Hispanic heritage month. We should do something, you know, because, you know, because, you know, when it came time, you know, like, you know, because we fall into this group and, you know, we know that there are a lot of people, such as yourself who are not just, you know, successful in the gaming industry, but like are just gamers, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:29 and we want to highlight the fact that, yeah, like we play games too and yeah, we work in this industry. And yeah, we can do things like, you know, start a radio show and be a, have a show on the Discovery Channel, for example. Yeah, yeah. That'd be so. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:44 And that's awesome, man. It's, it's, uh, It's always inspiring when, you know, when you hear a story like this, because it, you know, it could go in so many different directions, you know, like, if your grandma would never buy you that Atari, like, who knows where you would be right now, you know? So anyway, like, it's Hispanic Heritage Month, but Dennis and I, we decided to call it Latinx Heritage Month because we were deciding, you know, like, what should we call this thing? because we did see like people calling it different different things we're like well his if you say Hispanic you're excluding certain Latin American countries that are not Hispanic like for example Brazil right and then if you say Latino Latina you know there's people who don't identify with either gender so you're excluding them and then then that then we had the choice of
Starting point is 00:32:42 of Latin, which is like a gender neutral one or Latinx, but we decided on Latinx because it's like the most, I guess, the most, not just progressive, but also the one that we felt like was the most inclusive of everything. And as soon as we said that word Latinx, we got a lot of flack on social media from Latinos who were just like, don't call me that.
Starting point is 00:33:09 You know, I'm offended by that. And, you know, we, we, we want them to know, like, you know, it's fine if you don't identify as Latin X. Like, it's totally cool, like, to identify whatever you want. But we wanted to let them know, like, we use this word because we want to be inclusive, not to, you know, make someone mad or feel like, you know, we're telling them how they should identify with themselves. But I'm curious, like, what do you identify as?
Starting point is 00:33:36 And also, where are you, where were you born and where are you from and all that? Well, I was born in New York City. I'm also first generation. My parents are from the Dominican Republic. So honestly, for me, you know, I always, and I was posted as a Lianx, Latino, Lantan. Like I've done all that because at the same time, dude, it's us, man. It's the same. We're Latinos in general, man.
Starting point is 00:34:03 You know what I'm saying? People should not be getting mad about that stuff, man. Like I also done the same thing and you see people post. sing angry. Oh, why you use this word? I don't identify it as that. Or when, uh, you know, recently, uh, Twitch are highlighting out, uh, creators from Latinas and Latinos from all around the world, right? And they have done the same thing. And they just put a Hispanic headridge month, Latino headers, uh, head rich month. And there was people thanking them, oh, don't use Latinx and all this stuff. I'm like, that's not the focus. So focus is so we're promoting our people, man.
Starting point is 00:34:40 It's so weird. That should be the focus more than anything, man. And it bothers me when they're focusing so much on one little word, man. You know what I'm trying to say? Like, we have, we have some cool history that I want other people that are not Latinos. I want them to to learn more about our culture or the headridge, man. You know what I'm saying? Like, there's a lot of, look, I have family that lived in Mexico.
Starting point is 00:35:08 I have family that live in Spain. I just did my DNA results a couple months back and I found more stuff that I didn't know that have family in Costa Rica and all this all these places man you know so I want people to learn more about us you know when Twitch hit me up and they said they were going to highlight me and other creators in Times Square we got a billboards and have you seen it or not they put me up for like 10 10 days in the middle of Times Square right they told me Danny, what represents you? I told them podcasts or gaming, but I also, on purpose, I told them, put the Dominican flag in there. And the reason is, I want to show others,
Starting point is 00:35:52 it doesn't matter if the Dominicans or not, I want to show them that they could do it too, man. I want to inspire them as much as I can. You know, and I went to Times Square with my fiancé to see the billboard that was up there. I was in three billboards in Broadway, the Viacom buildings and everything.
Starting point is 00:36:12 And like the story that I mentioned to you earlier about me going to the Xbox launch 20 years ago and seeing seeing that that Billboard now, it was like full circle, man. Full circle. You know, and that's the focus that I want to do. It just inspires our people, man, as much as possible. We didn't have that back in the days now that we have the tools and resources to help our people. Let's do it. You know, that's been my focus.
Starting point is 00:36:38 So when I see tweets like that that you were saying, I just ignore that, man, and focus more on the people that that are proud of the stuff that we've been doing. You know, that's the most important thing to me. That's been really interesting because Evan and I have this conversation like literally every day where we're keeping like a really close eye on like what everybody else is doing and saying and like how they're presenting this this month. And it's, it's been interesting. Shout out of Sesame Street, dude. They're going hard. Yeah. Oh, seriously.
Starting point is 00:37:07 It says we're just going hard on this stuff. Yeah. Good. Good. Yeah, but you're totally right, man. It's just the word and it's, the word is not what's important. What's important is the people and, you know, and you're right. Like, it is inspiring.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Like to think like, you know, any, anyone can, anyone can do it if they really, you know, put themselves out there and just goes, goes for it, you know. And, you know, it doesn't, it doesn't matter what. What ethnicity you are is just, or what you identify as either, is just, you know, it's what matters is like, you know, just doing it, basically. Just putting yourself out there and going for it and like, you know, succeeding and helping others and all that. And it's awesome, man.
Starting point is 00:37:54 Like, I love your story. I love the fact that you were able to see yourself on a billboard in Times Square with your fiance. That must have just felt amazing. Oh, man. It was the greatest feeling in the world, man, because nobody knows the stuff that I went through, man, when I started this, you know?
Starting point is 00:38:13 And even when my co-hosts, I got to see him doing the showcase for Xbox during E3, I cried in the live stream, man, because nobody knows the stuff they went through behind the scenes, right? Broke, yo, I went to my first E3 with only 20 bucks with my brother and I wasted all my money on on renting a car, getting a hotel. I have no idea about LA. It was like my first time over here. And we survived eating dollar burgers during the whole week because I had to wait until I got paid again.
Starting point is 00:38:48 I think it was like around Thursday or Friday. But I invested all my money on doing a media kit, you know, because I want to present that to like all the publishers at the event and everything. And in life, you have to take risk, man. that you know I did it not knowing what the hell was doing but now that I know I want to give tips to people like hey you could do this you could do that you know like I didn't have that back then I did everything on my own I learned editing on my own all that on my own you know what I'm saying so yeah you're like life's a risk and if you're gonna walk you might as well dance you know Just go all out and like, you know, hustle and do your best.
Starting point is 00:39:32 And like it sounds like you definitely hustled your way to where you're at right now. I mean, the fact that, you know, you had dollar burgers and no money in your pocket and you're still out there telling people about, you know, what you're doing. And that's, you know, I'm not surprised to know that you're on a billboard in Times Square because that's what it takes, man. And, you know, it's awesome that you're just so happen to be Latino because, you know, it's it is, like you said,
Starting point is 00:40:02 it is important to inspire people because a lot of times, you know, people feel like they don't belong, you know. We had a podcast with Christina Amaya two weeks ago. She's the founder of Latinx in gaming. That's the Christina. I know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:20 And, you know, we had some questions in the chat from people asking, like, you know, how do I, join a gaming community when I'm very shy because I have an accent because I'm from Mexico or something. Or people saying like, you know, what do I do to meet other Latinos who play video games because I'm the only one in my school who does and things like that? And, you know, it's kind of sad, you know, like to know people feel that. because we're all people, doesn't matter if you have an accent,
Starting point is 00:41:03 doesn't matter what color your skin is. And at least like for us, you know, as gamers, like, you know, it's about literally like just having fun and you shouldn't, you shouldn't overthink it. Like if you're a gamer and you want to work in the gaming industry or you want to be a streamer or a podcaster and, you know, and you don't see others like doing it, that's even more reason to do it because you can't. Yeah, you know what? I want to mention something that I feel like it was super important.
Starting point is 00:41:37 Two things. A couple months ago, I went to New York City and I got to hang out with friends and there was people that I just met for the first time. And there was this young lady that she was sitting next to me and my fiance. We was just chit chatting. And I started talking about saying i said something in spanish and she said oh i don't know i don't know spanish i'm latina but i don't know spanish so i'm a fake puerto rican i'm like wait a minute i looked at her go wait what you mean you're you're fake puerto rican you're not no you're not because look there's people that are latinos and latinas right but or spaniics but their parents never uh taught them how to speak spanish at all that doesn't mean that you're not
Starting point is 00:42:24 Latino Latina because of that. You know, so I had to explain to her like, yo, I know a lot of people that don't know Spanish at all, but they're part of us. So I told that don't ever call yourself fake because you're not fake at all. And another thing what you said, you know, when I went to, when I started going to E3 and all these events, I was the only person of color there, man, back in those days. So it was harder for me because I felt like, I was like, man. there's no people of color here man I'm the only one this is so weird man you know
Starting point is 00:42:59 I'm saying then but now fast forward it's beautiful seeing more of us doing these things and now as game developers as people parts in the industry PR marketing etc and also creators more than ever before we didn't have that man and I hope we continue doing that man so we could change this industry even more man you know we have different ways and different ideas to do things that other people probably don't do the same thing at all man you know and and i think that's my goal to to change that man as much as possible you know i want to see more of of different type of people just in the industry not just one you know i'm trying to say yeah yeah for sure it's it's i like that you brought up the whole uh like you know spanish discussion and that's like
Starting point is 00:43:48 another hot topic you know in the in the latino community i I guess is, you know, are you really Latino if you don't speak Spanish? And the answer is yes, you are. You don't have to speak Spanish to do so. Because we're all raised differently, you know, like me and myself, Spanish is my first language. Even though I was born here in the United States, you know, my parents, you know, like they,
Starting point is 00:44:14 when they had me, they didn't speak great English. So of course they're going to speak Spanish to me. Of course they're going to teach me what they know, what they're comfortable with. And, you know, you know, when I was a kid, I did get teased a little bit because when I started school, I didn't know English and I actually learned English by watching Sesame Street, Dennis. Shout out to Sesame Street.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Oh, that's cool. Telling you. I do like teasing Dennis, though, and I do like calling him a no-slabo kid sometimes. You know what? I know there was a question in the chat. somebody asked like when was last I was in the Republic actually I was there like two weeks ago I was there vacation so but I go there all the time
Starting point is 00:45:00 actually I'm working some stuff to have like an event again workshop over there with developers and for the gaming community over there in the Republic so I've done speaking engagements over there too should we should we do the rest of this podcast in Espanio?
Starting point is 00:45:19 Let's go let me see it You know what? I had to interview Keanu Reeves last year for Telemone. It was all in Spanish. I mean, he doesn't know Spanish at all, but I've done that. And that was cool. You know, I started doing more of that the past two years or so. Well, actually the past couple of years.
Starting point is 00:45:44 I've been creating content in English and also in Spanish. You know, a couple months back, I did something for Amazon. Amazon Prime. They wanted me to broadcast the summer game fest Jeff Keeley. Oh, in Spanish.
Starting point is 00:46:00 So I did it for like three hours. Straight up Spanish, man. So yeah. Yeah, I've never done three hours like that. That's a long time. That's a very long time. Yeah. But I did it.
Starting point is 00:46:11 You know, and of course I did some spanglish, you know. Yeah. I think the Spanish I speak honestly is kind of spanglish because my wife my wife was born in Mexico and her Spanish is totally different than mine and we speak Spanish to each other especially when we don't want my daughter
Starting point is 00:46:32 to know what we're talking about we'll speak in Spanish but my wife she'll always say like why do you why do you talk like that like your Spanish is so it's different I'm like yeah I mean I was born in L.A. And like I speak like you know Spanglish basically
Starting point is 00:46:49 I was like a mixture of English and Spanish. Like, for example, I say parkiard. You know, that's like parking. I say parquead, but that's not a real Spanish word. No, no, but I get what you're saying, though, but I understand what you're saying. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know I can do three hours of Spanish. I probably, I'll probably forget how to say something, I'm sure. Yeah. No, you know what? Look, if there's a word that I'm saying incorrectly, I'd just make fun of myself like, hey, whatever, you know, but yeah, But people understand, you know what I'm saying? Like the goal is for me to to talk in Spanish.
Starting point is 00:47:27 So for those that don't know English, at least they can understand, you know, what I'm broadcasting, you know. So doesn't bother me, matter. There's never going to be perfect to Spanish. And like I said, I'm a regional, right? Like, like, like, even in the same country, different regions within that country will speak Spanish completely differently. Yeah. In the American public is like that, like over there, the southern part of DR speaks a little bit different than the north area of the art. So what my parents are from is north area.
Starting point is 00:48:03 So that region is called Sivau. This is more like city and countryside more than down south. That's how it's more the capital and all that stuff. So yeah, there's certain words like we sometimes we skip the the S, the E, the way how we pronounce certain words. So I don't know if it's like that in Mexico or in other areas too, but, you know. Yeah, like I mentioned earlier that I'm, you know, I'm a big baseball fan. And there's a lot of Dominican players in Major League Baseball.
Starting point is 00:48:35 And, you know, sometimes I hear them speak Spanish and I don't even know what the heck they're saying. And I speak Spanish and I have like literally I have like, what are they saying? I don't understand a word. And, uh, yeah. And then, uh, I'll hear. like Italian and I'll be able to or Portuguese and I'll be like oh I know what they're saying you know like I don't know every single word but like there's like some words where I'm like oh yeah they're asking for a cup of coffee like yeah yeah language is a trip man yeah yeah it is it is
Starting point is 00:49:08 even here in the United States man everybody speak differently depending the area yeah yeah yeah exactly yeah and it's it's funny to me that people get like so hung up over a word and just going to go back a little bit because like we all say things differently, right? We don't know what each other's saying. Yeah. So like, you know, what does it matter, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:30 Speaking of speaking. Speaking. I see you speaking into a microphone there. And as you know, NZXT recently launched the microphone. And we actually sent you on Danny. Yeah, I got it right here. has a nice little gift and you actually i'm using this for for my uh because i have multiple mics one for here and and this one is more for for other projects i'm working up but i got here i really
Starting point is 00:50:01 like this mike man mike is really good you you you like it so much that you you leaked it well technically technically i wasn't told what to put it there was no no letter and i put it up and i noticed i noticed a lot of people from your team were like were following me and liking i'm like okay, there's something. Yeah, like, I forgot we shared the tweet. They're like, uh, Danny posted the mic and we're like, oh, crap, tell me to take it down. Yeah, yeah. That was our mistake.
Starting point is 00:50:30 We didn't tell you. Yeah, I was cracking up. That was pretty funny. What do you think about the mic, man? Like, do you like it or? I really enjoyed it, man. I really, really like this mic. I like the sound.
Starting point is 00:50:42 Sounds really good. Yeah. And it's easy to connect and disconnect. And I love you could also connect your headphones in there and you know you could do everything there with USB So yeah, this is awesome man. I really like this a lot man. This is perfect for Again, if it was not for the pandemic, I'll be traveling like crazy But this is a great mic for me to take with me and just record and like in different locations if I have to you know, especially Like an event like E3 we will go to the hotel and we do like a long recap of everything that's going on
Starting point is 00:51:16 And this is the perfect mic for me for that for that type of type of content that if I if I'm traveling or doing stuff like that Because I can't take the the mic that I have here. I don't want to do that so I prefer to Something that's more comfortable and easy for me to take around you know but I love also the color man. Why is pretty awesome Really like this a lot. That's really clear. It's really clean. Were you surprised at how light it is very light? Honestly, this is the part this is the part this heavy not the mic. itself yeah yeah when I first when I first held one I thought I was holding a pre-production sample because it was so light I thought it was just like hollow and empty yeah and they're like oh no it's actually that light I was like wow it's like
Starting point is 00:52:01 the exact opposite of every other microphone I've ever helped yeah do you have it do you have it like this or do you have it with the the mic like a mic I ever like this okay cool yeah that's really cool yeah it's funny um because I remember before we relaunched both the mic and the boom arm. We were talking to, to Andy, and he was like, this boomer doesn't work. Like, what are you talking about? And he's like, the microphone's way too light. It's not holding it down.
Starting point is 00:52:28 So we had to make some adjustments to it. But I didn't realize that a mic could be so light that a boom arm would just like just not even like hold it in place. Just was hilarious to me. Yeah. Yeah. No, but it's good. I think the, the weight I think is perfect for for this.
Starting point is 00:52:44 You know, it's really good, man. And especially, you know, just now, an article just, I don't even know if they put it up, but I did recommend this mic for CNN. They interviewed me. They just asked me for like different type of mics that people could check out. Let me double check because I know I gave them a list. Like I know it was, this is one of the mics that I mentioned to them. But I got to double check.
Starting point is 00:53:05 Yeah. I hope they put it up. I'm not sure if they did. I know Andy, Andy, our associate PR managers in the chat here, Andy. So if we get a capsule mention in CNN. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think they didn't. Because they interview other people too.
Starting point is 00:53:23 So let me double check. But yeah. Do you consider yourself an audio file? Excuse me? Do you consider yourself an audio file? An audio file? Yeah. Meaning in what way?
Starting point is 00:53:40 Like, I guess like are you like, You can say yourself, I guess, like an audio snob, you know, like, are you the type of guy that's like, you know, I only consume music on vinyl because it's a purest form? No, no, I'm not like that. But I do, I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of picky with how, what type of mic do you use for your content? Because like, the thing that drives me insane is someone recording and in the background here, hear people talking or the train passing by or or you hear the fan like going you know like that's up of thing so I always tell people to if like you say like okay for example with this mic right you could use the gain but you don't have to put the gain all the way up put it
Starting point is 00:54:33 that put it in the volume that's perfect for you that doesn't create a lot of background noise you know or if you get a dynamic mic which I have in a past I've taken that to events and I've done interviews at a club where the speakers is loud as hell but because it is a dynamic mic it doesn't pick up a lot of background noise it's only pick up the the the sound whatever is in front of that of that mic so when it comes to that stuff I'm picky you know but but like I said earlier if that's the only thing that you have a little built-in microphone for your laptop or your phone like hey you can use that for now and then later hey you upgrade and get this mic you know get the capsule you know so that's i'll tell people
Starting point is 00:55:18 you know oh you are an audio snob but that's picky not that's picky there's people that are like super picky i'm not i'm not but you know what when cds came out dude i was like so against CDs are like man just love these tapes man no man and vinyl i was so against CD back in the days that's funny i know like uh like i said earlier too like i like you, I collect vinyl. And I do think vinyl, honestly, vinyl does sound, in my opinion,
Starting point is 00:55:51 much better than MP3 or a stream or a tape, you know, whatever. Like vinyl to me does sound better than anything. Yeah. How about headsets? Are you a big headset of his? I see you have a nice looking headset. Yeah, I have a lot.
Starting point is 00:56:09 I actually, I have also the... It's about to pull up. Xbox headset, wireless. I have the Logitech Pro. I have a lot here because I'm always getting products for review. They want us to talk about it on the show. So I have a lot of a lot of headsets, a lot of different ones, you know. But the thing is what I prefer for me. I like wired. I don't have to worry about, you know, charging my headsets or anything like that, you know. So like for example, if I take a long, long trip, You know, I only have a certain amount of hours if I use a head, a wireless headset on a plane. But if I have a wire one, I'm good. Like, I don't have to worry about that stuff.
Starting point is 00:56:51 You know, I'm saying? So, but, you know, as a small headphones, I like the old school, um, wired headphones that came with the iPods and the iPhones back then. The head, with the headphone jack. I like those a lot. I'm not a big, huge fan of the AirPods. honestly man as a microphone not that good not that good I hate it when I see
Starting point is 00:57:18 like those TikTok videos where they're like talking like this with the I love those great this is so funny though because it's funny but it's just like I hate it when they when they don't do it as a as a meme you know when they do it as like like an actual like you know
Starting point is 00:57:35 this is the microphone I'm using to record this video type of thing because you're right like it's It's terrible, man. Yeah. You know what it is? That's a video of things like TikTok, right? Is it like you can use whatever you want and you can still put out good content and people still like it?
Starting point is 00:57:49 Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course, of course. But I think people always have the noise cancellation on. So it sounds very weird. The quality, you know, if you take it off, it will sound a lot better, you know. So yeah. Yeah. A while ago, we actually did a survey with our community where we asked them, you know, what's more annoying? Like when you're watching a screen, is it bad audio or bad video?
Starting point is 00:58:14 And bad audio won by a lot. I was very surprised by that. I thought it was going to be more like 50-50, but I think it was like 80-20. People would rather have you have bad video over bad audio because that's how annoying it is to have bad audio quality. Yeah. You know what? I want to mention this very quick. Like when the when people ask me a lot, Annie, why?
Starting point is 00:58:40 why don't you do more videos, more videos? And when we started our show back then, you know, I love videos, right? I love video content a lot. But I also have to think of the majority of people worldwide. They don't have the same type of speed and data like us, right? So a lot of the countries outside of the United States, they only have a certain amount of data they could consume per month. But if I release it as an audio, it's a lot easier for them to consume those the type of content and they're they don't have to You know, surpass their data because they're trying to consume so much content. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:59:24 So if you do create content, it's cool Do it both audio and video, but don't ever audio is never gonna die That's one thing I always tell people that has never gonna die look when people drive they're not watching YouTube When people are on the plane, they're not they're not live streaming or watching YouTube videos there. You know, they're probably download some content and they're offline. The majority of people don't buy Wi-Fi on the plane. You know what I'm saying? So thinking of it that way, man, I always I always been that way, man, when it comes to that stuff.
Starting point is 01:00:01 That's really good a point. They actually never thought of it that way because right now we do the podcast through Twitch, right? where before it was through Discord, which I'm sure is a lot less intensive on the internet connection, but we also do it off live as well, right? And I believe Twitch also has like an audio only mode too, right? Yeah, yeah, you could do that too. Yeah, so you get like best of both worlds. Yeah. And honestly, the majority of people that listen to the show is the podcast. More than that we do a live show on Twitch too, but man, we get thousands and thousands of people that listen to our show online, oh, just offline like through the audio.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Yeah, same thing with those, you know, like we go live, you know, know, when we go live, we have anywhere from like 100 to 300 people who tune in to watch us do this live. And then once it's actually done, you know, thousands of people, you know, stream it and watch the bod and all that stuff. Most of them are not watching the video. It's literally like, let me plug in my cheap AirPods and listen to this. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. So, Danny, do you want to get into a few community questions for you?
Starting point is 01:01:07 And if anyone is listening live right now on Twitch, you can drop your questions in the chat as well. So first question here is from twin dad. It wouldn't be an NZXT podcast without a twin dad question. Exactly. And he wants to know, does the capsule give goob sound? Not good, he said goop sound. Goop sound.
Starting point is 01:01:32 Yeah. I'm assuming he means good, but he said goop. Yeah, I just got to taste it because that was funny. You know, I did a video on Twitter. I don't have you guys seen it or not, where I just test out the mic. I used this one that I have and I was just talking. I did like a quick unboxing and show the mic and everything. And then I did a, with the power of editing, I already connected the capsule to my devices here.
Starting point is 01:02:01 And I try it out. And I check out the game and everything. And people are like, man, it sounds really good. Yeah, it sounds good. You know, so because I you know, at the end of the day, I feel like you is the position when you put the mic also. Yes. Like if I go like this, I sound a lot different. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:22 Then when I put the mic like this, you know, and also the tone of my voice too. Like I know the way how I have the volume of the mic too. So I did that everything with the capsule and it sounds great, honestly speaking. man like it sounds really good and the price is it's great too for for those that can't afford those are expensive mics this is like the perfect mic for that man for especially for upcoming podcasters you know overall so yeah it's good sounds really really good now if you put the if you put the gain all the way up on any mic is going to sound terrible 100% uh next question for you from panda writer underscore my uh
Starting point is 01:03:07 Danny, what is your stream setup with your camera, your headphones, your microphones, what you got going on over there? All right. So for the streaming one, I have the Sony A6400 camera. I have the Wave XLR from Orgado because I love XLR mics. So I got this mic last year from Sure. So I've been using this. This is the NV7. And they just released the MV7X, which is only as... XLR version. This one has XLR and USB connection. So it's all is up to you if you want to use that. But I prefer XLR mics. That's like my thing. And I have I also have a mixer, which I bought it a couple of years back is from Road Rolcaster.
Starting point is 01:03:56 So pretty big mixer. I wish I could show it to you because I have it have it in a box. But that one you could connect up to four mics in there. Because I will take that to a events and I'll invite guests to come to the hotel room and we just record there. That's why I mentioned to you guys about the capsule that's easy for me to take when I go to events. I could just set up right there on the spot, get multiple mics and just record with people. So yeah, because the thing that I like to do is I want to record more shows outside of my setup that I have here and just sit down and have the conversation. with people because there's nothing, nothing more powerful when you have a conversation face-to-face with people. Like we're having a great conversation here, but I bet you it will be even better if we do this in person, you know? So hopefully in the future, hopefully that changes, you know.
Starting point is 01:04:51 Oh yeah. And you're in LA and you know, so are we. So. Oh, let's meet up. If you're down, we're down. Yeah. We should definitely we should do it up one of these days and hang out. We should do a podcast at the Dominican restaurant. if this gets hot or not. And honestly, I used this camera for hours and it never had an issue with that. We should do a podcast at a Dominican restaurant. Just saying. Next question for you, Danny.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Also audio related. This is from Ghost of M. They want to know, do you find for interviews there are situations where you need Lavalier mics? I work on a podcast and I'm trying to convince them to move to Lavalier mics or the in-person interview segments. Before you answer that, Ghost of M,
Starting point is 01:05:42 if you can, let us know what podcast you work on. Drop the link. Yeah, shut it out. Shut it out. Honestly, you really, you really don't need a type of mic if you don't want to, man.
Starting point is 01:05:56 I prefer, again, I prefer to get mics, like dynamic mics that doesn't pick a lot of background noise and it's easy for the guests to hold it, Or you could hold look, you could even buy one mic and just go like this back and forth. You could do that too. So yeah, it's whatever you you could afford that. You know, it doesn't really have to be like a certain type of mic that you have to.
Starting point is 01:06:18 You don't have to do that. I don't I've never bought that. I've never bought that type of mic ever for me. And I still create content, you know. I've used live mics before at my previous job and they're they're fine, but they're also annoying to set up because you get to like wire everyone through and clip it on your And so stuff. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:37 Yeah, that's the thing, man. Sometimes the guests are not going to have the time for the whole setup. You know, when we go to E3, I make it as easy as possible. I have everything already set up. I'm actually, let me see. I have a. I wish I had it around here, but I have this recorder. This called TAS cam where I connect two XLR mics there.
Starting point is 01:07:02 And I always have it connected and ready. So when I have to do a quick interview, I just do it up. up, boom, give it to them. We sit down, record. Okay, we're done. Okay, on to the next one. Because at E3 is always every 15 to 30 minutes, I have a different appointment every single day, sometimes even less. Like I, like I said earlier, I've released 57 to 58 episodes and seven days. And that's only between only us three people. We did that because we already know the trick of how to record and how it set it up. And at the same time, make it easier for the guests that they don't have to, put that cable under their shirt. You know, just sit down there and just give them the mic and that's it. You got to make it a quick and easier for them. And you're better off. If you're going to use a Lavalier mic,
Starting point is 01:07:48 you're just better off getting one of those, one of these things, like the wired thing. The wire, yeah. This is one of these right with your iPhone. Hey, what's up? You want to talk? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:01 Next question for you is from Omega Techs. They want to know, what is that flat? behind you Danny that's the Dominican Republic flag it's DR baby right DIR d Dominican Republic you know I drink president and I eat a lot of mango and platonos and all that stuff yeah so that's right really good like that's baseball yeah when I was young yeah I used to I used to play baseball a lot of basketball actually I wanted to be I remember when I was young I was like I want to be a pitcher because I'm lefty and then I
Starting point is 01:08:37 I got to see my cousin getting hurt because he was also a picture. And he broke his notes multiple times. I'm like, yeah, let me not, let me do something else. And I started playing basketball after that. But I love baseball. Baseball is dope. I will go to the world baseball classic in Miami every single time that they have it. So I was there when it was a Dominican Republic versus USA.
Starting point is 01:09:02 The crowd was crazy sold out stadium. Oh, it was one of the best experience ever in my life. was that one right there. And they do the final C here in LA. Dodger Stadium. That's awesome. Yep. All right.
Starting point is 01:09:16 So the next question is actually from someone I know. Hi, N16 and Danny. We are tuning in from our middle school advocate class. My students want to know what led you to the decision to start streaming. Ooh, for me, I have a pretty cool story that we were podcasting ready for years. And then one day, EA. invited me to to go to an event for Timefall the first timefall game that came out so it was my coals and I we were there and we were waiting in line there was a lot of young
Starting point is 01:09:51 people there right so what we noticed previously we should go to a lot of events there was a lot of podcasters right so when we were there we looked at each other and we're like dude we're like dinosaurs man all these people are here are YouTubers and streamers so ever since that day, we decided to make some changes and we were like, you know what, let's, let's stream more. Let's let's create more video content. I used to do video content back in the days, but it was not full time like how we're doing it now. And it helped us to get even more opportunities because we started doing that video.
Starting point is 01:10:31 And that's why we started streaming like just two weeks ago, I took over the, actually last I took over the Xbox official channel and I was streaming there. That was really cool. I'd done stuff like with Prime Gaming and and other companies, content for Telemundo, to Discovery Channel, all because of video. So that's why I decided to do more streaming and everything. But my focus has always been podcasting. I record the content on the stream, but I just love the audio on demand
Starting point is 01:11:07 video on demand type of content from me. A video is a lot of work. Yes, it is. Because you have to focus on the visuals and the sound quality for both. Yeah. It's a lot. And especially not just video, but also live production is a whole different monster. Because if something breaks, sometimes you just can't touch it till the show's over.
Starting point is 01:11:29 Yeah. Yeah. Like I had people tell me in the chat, like, hey, uh, your cam's blurring me. Yeah, I know. But if I touch anything, it's going to break a bunch of stuff. So sorry, I'm just going to look super smooth for like an hour. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And even if like the, if the camera is blurry and a video is cutting in and out, the audio podcast sounds perfect.
Starting point is 01:11:52 Yeah, it will always sound perfect. Definitely better. Yeah. Next question for you is behind the Dominican Republic, what Latin X country has the second best food? Oh, that's a great question. You know what? I'm going to keep it real, man. I love to start a fight. Then answer that. I love Peruvian food. Like I love Ceviche, Cevice de Camarone. Oh, I will die for one right now. I love it. I used to go a lot to
Starting point is 01:12:25 Columbia restaurants, Cuban restaurants in the Dominican Republic, in Miami. I used to go there all the time to eat all type of food, man. But let me tell you, Ceviche de Camadona, Peruvian Ceviche. But you have any, you lived in LA for a year now, you said? Yeah, yeah. I've been going to a couple of restaurants here locally. I found a Puerto Rican restaurant here.
Starting point is 01:12:49 I found multiple Cuban restaurants here. I have to go to a Salvadoranio restaurant that I found here. So yeah, I'm always experimenting different stuff here. So any recommendations, please let me know. I'll definitely will go. Yeah, that's one good thing about LA is it's like a melting pot of cultures here. So literally like any type of food you can imagine is available in LA. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:19 That's literally one of the best things about living in LA is like the food to be honest. Yeah, yeah. I love, let me tell you, I love my tacos. Like, you know, I know Mexicans are when it comes to tacos, nobody's stopping them. Same thing with Cevice with with with with Peruvian and for me Dominicans are really good with those platinum so man Like it's like oh off the charts you know so but even even uh puerto rican they're good too with uh with mafongo and all that so man's so good making me hungry now yeah i'm getting hungry right now seriously like people in cheder mentioned like lamoso tato i'm like oh god i please yeah i love the soggy fries not care anyone says like oh they get soggy
Starting point is 01:14:03 the best part with all that juice. Yeah. Next question for you, Danny, is what games do you play on that Nintendo Switch there behind you? Oh, man. I have a lot of games. I have talking about it. I have talking about it. I have like close to like 300 games just on my Switch
Starting point is 01:14:19 and also for the Xbox and I have the PlayStation 5. For the Switch, I play recently, I'm playing a lot of Hades because I love I love Hades, man. I'm trying to I don't know. I'm just trying to surpass my record. have like um it takes me the the fastest escape for me was like 23 24 minutes for me but i want to i want to pass that record so i'm always playing that uh but i have mario card i have you know all
Starting point is 01:14:48 the nintendo games zelda mario all that stuff so um and also i played a lot of the witcher on the switch because i when i was in new york city when they came out for that version and i i play that a lot more than in my xbox and PlayStation version actually it's not the best graphic compared to those systems but I was gonna ask how does I run on the switch the Witcher it runs smooth I mean it's not I mean it runs good you could tell this not it's not great looking compared to the other systems but the reason why I like that version was because first of all the expansion all the DLCs everything in one cart yeah second it was easy for me
Starting point is 01:15:29 because at that time I was driving a lot and I just wanted to continue playing the story and everything so I'm actually I'm actually getting the Nintendo Switch OLED that comes out next week so I'm waiting for that I'm getting that for hopefully for review so we'll see what happens but he used to get that thing I refuse to get yeah yeah no I mean I understand look yeah this which is the first generation so if you have if you have the latest generation I don't see you really don't need to upgrade honestly speaking but a person like me to have the first generation it makes sense for me to upgrade
Starting point is 01:16:03 you know first of all i want a bigger screen i i play a lot of handheld mode uh a lot so um so yeah i'm just winning and hopefully it has more battery better battery in this one that i have what are your thoughts on the steam deck for me it's a way and see situation because i had the steam machine a couple years back and i discovered so many so many indie games through that through that device a lot right So I got it, but then it died on me. Like it only took like a year and I felt like they stopped supporting the system, you know? So that was my experience with Steam machine and now they have the Steam the Steam deck, right? And I'm in a wait and see situation.
Starting point is 01:16:50 My co-host bought the most expensive version. And also my fiance bought one too. I think she bought the mid mid tier version. So I'm just going to wait. And if it's good, I'll buy it because the technology looks really, really cool. I'm not against it or anything. I like that, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:08 Yeah, I have a switch and like for me, I love my switch. Don't get me wrong. I love my switch. I, but I think it's definitely not as good as my computer for sure. Like there's games that I play on PC and then like I go, okay, to buy it's for the switch as well just because like you like you said like i'm going to be traveling and i want to play the witcher on the plane or whatever because i'm going to be bored for five hours you know and for that it's awesome but at the end of the day like it's just not the ideal
Starting point is 01:17:46 gaming experience for some games not all games but for some games and that's what i'm excited for about the Steam deck is, I would imagine, I don't know, because like you said, it's kind of waiting to see, but I imagine The Witcher will run better on the Steam deck. Oh, 100%. Than the Switch, you know, and for games like that, like, yeah, I think it does make a lot of sense to get the Steam deck over, you know, upgrading the Switch to the, to the new one.
Starting point is 01:18:14 I also love the fact that the Steam deck, it's going to, for the first time ever, make every game, portable. Yeah. Like any game, like, and not just like any new game, but even like old games, you know,
Starting point is 01:18:27 like it's going to be really interesting to see what, what games kind of get revived because of this thing. Yeah. Yeah. No, but you know what? I also play a lot, especially last year. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:18:40 I was doing this a lot. I play a lot of cloud gaming. Believe it or not. Me too. I have a stadia. I love it. Yeah. I have the,
Starting point is 01:18:47 I have the S cloud from Xbox. So I played everything through, through my phone and I have the controllers. I just connected there, played. And now, just recently, actually two days ago, they just added the cloud gaming on console. So for example, especially now where it's so hard to find a Series X and a PlayStation 5 or Series S, if you can't find a Next Gen console, you only have the Xbox One.
Starting point is 01:19:15 With this, you could play games that is next gen games. It's not available for Xbox One, but you can't find a next gen console. But you could just play it through the cloud. I just play like that. And when the time comes, once you have the new consoles, that's it. You're good. You could just download them and everything, you know. But it's great because now you're not missing out of that experience before.
Starting point is 01:19:35 It's like, well, you don't have the new console. That's it. You can't play it. You know, so that's the part that sucks. And especially now that everybody's, they're trying their best to buy the PS5 and Xbox. It's so hard to find, man. So, so hard. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:49 Yeah. It's actually funny. the dimension cloud gaming because then i was watching that nintendo direct and they just announced that they're going to have dying light too but through cloud gaming on there which that which that was actually really really cool because uh i mean it's it's it's it's basically like i think it's going to be honestly like the future but like way way way more popular than people have ever expected it's going to be because like oh yeah yeah 100% is doing it even this if Nintendo's doing it yeah here's the thing imagine you live in the middle of nowhere and the only thing there is is available
Starting point is 01:20:21 It's just Wi-Fi connection or internet connection, right? But you have an Android device. Now, this potential for you to play these games on Stadia, on XCloud, on your phone. So you don't need to buy the latest console in order for you to play those games. Now, just to subscribe, now you could play hundreds and thousands of games available there on your little device. Or a parent that does it have a... to have the funds to buy the next-gen console but they have the hottest TV right 4k smart TV now all you have to do you just get a controller there's Bluetooth connected to your TV and now you could
Starting point is 01:21:05 have access to all these games and without buying the console that's the beauty part and that's the conversation we're having earlier especially Latinos that don't really have the oh wow that was a Mario so especially now that we don't they don't have have the funds to buy expensive equipment or a PC, they get through it through their phones like that or TV, you know, and now they have access for the kids, you know. It's good. I think what it really comes down to is just having good internet.
Starting point is 01:21:34 Like once more people start getting good internet access, we're definitely going to see more and more people trying out cloud gaming. You know, because right now that's literally like the reason why it's not huge. just because not everyone has really good internet and yeah you know like i myself i have really fast internet so when i hook up my stadia to my tv it runs flawlessly it's perfect and i i love it for that reason you know i just love children on the couch with the controller and i have to worry about you know like having a computer set up or a xbox or whatever it's like no it's just this little controller plug into a chrome cast and i can play red dead dead reddeader redemption too you know at 60 fps or whatever
Starting point is 01:22:21 Yeah. And also, the other thing too that I forgot to mention about the Steam deck that I also liked, it's kind of what you were saying, how, you know, for people that don't have money, you know, they can get this device and play video games on the cloud. Well, the other thing too about the Steam deck that I really like is that it's also a computer. So you can plug in a keyboard and a mouse and a monitor and like do your homework on there or, you know, or work from there. Yeah. You know, run a Twitch stream from there. And like, that's also really cool because for, you know, for 300 bucks, you get yourself a PC, basically.
Starting point is 01:22:59 Yeah. Yeah. Next question for you. So this is actually the last community question we have for you here. It's, uh, what games are you looking forward to? And what are you hooked on right now? Oh, man. I can't wait for Halo Infinite.
Starting point is 01:23:17 Uh, honestly. I'm excited for that. I'm actually going to play the. the flight multiplayer preview technical preview this weekend because they're adding big team battle yeah so i'm getting together with my community and my goals we're all going to play together online so i'm very excited about that so halo infinite i'm very excited for far cry six that is also coming on next week uh i really love far cry and uh and i like this one because it's uh it's more of latinos in there it's cubans and all that so i'm
Starting point is 01:23:50 I'm very excited. I preview it a couple months back, and I played it for like, I think it was like two, three hours, no, four hours. And man, the story is really interesting. I'm super curious to see what's going to happen in the game. So that and also one other game that I'm very excited to play is Forza Horizon 5, which is taking place in Mexico this time. So I can't wait. I can't wait for that. So when I saw the Far Cry 6 art, I was like, this game's going to be awesome.
Starting point is 01:24:24 Just from looking at the artwork, I'm like, this is going to be a crazy story. Even the soundtrack is sick, man. Like, I, dude, I was there playing it. And I sat down one of the cars. I'm like, I got to listen to the soundtrack to see. So, of course, they have licensed music, of course, you know. But the team also created original songs that was recorded just for the game. So that is part of the story.
Starting point is 01:24:47 So there's certain parts that the music will pop up that it relates to the story. I can't spoil there or anything like that. But it's super cool. Oh, my guys. So good. I think Danny Trejo is in that video game, right? No, no. It's actually a John Carlo as Fosito.
Starting point is 01:25:05 He's in there. Danny Tehroneho. Yeah. Yeah. I interviewed him because he's in Grand Theftado games. He's in everything. He's in a bunch of video games and I interviewed him and he this is the crazy people people not probably not gonna know about this but he actually announced machete before
Starting point is 01:25:27 it was publicly announced to the party on the show yeah he I don't know it was like a slip up or what I was like wait do you say it about my chete what is that I was like and then two years later that's when they officially was announcing everything or a year after I can't quite remember but yeah he's super cool that inter is super awesome Have you been to his taco shop? No, you know what? Now that I'm here and thank you for reminding me, I'm probably going to go and check it. Is it is it good or what?
Starting point is 01:25:53 It's good. Yeah, Chris got to tacos. Yeah, yeah. I've been there once. I got to check it out. Yeah, I definitely got to check it out. All right. So the last question we have here from the community is not for you, Danny.
Starting point is 01:26:04 It's actually for Dennis. What? Ooh. And it's just for you. I'm taking a break. Oh, no. Slug wants to know what the heck are you going to do for your birthday? I have no idea because I'm hell tired I've been grinding a new world for like the past two days
Starting point is 01:26:20 like as soon as I get off of work I'm just going hard in the game as soon as I can get in the queues I'm literally you said you've been waiting in line for the last couple days no I was so so so do right I will wake up in the morning I log on I sit in queue by the time work is about done that's when they start playing because that's when I get in it's only like five hours a number a thousand I know it's so bad um I mean For today, I'm just really just going to chill at home. It's going to hang out because I'm literally like falling asleep. I'm super tired.
Starting point is 01:26:48 But this weekend I'm hanging with the family, you know. We don't see each other super, super often. Not that like I'm like super far or anything, you know, but just, you know, with like code and everything, you know, I don't want to like be going back and forth all the time because they also go to the grocery store and I go to do other things too. But yeah, we're hanging out this, this, uh, the Saturday to grab dinner. So I'm excited to do that. Awesome. Really cool.
Starting point is 01:27:09 All about happy. Happy birthday, man. Thanks. Happy birthday. Thanks. And I heard night, but great things. about New World. I got to check it out. It's good. It's good. I've only heard one bad thing about it.
Starting point is 01:27:20 What was that? It destroys your graphics card. That's only if you have an EVGA, I believe. That's really weird. I mean, I don't know, like, it seems like such a weird problem. So, video game. So what it is is, it's not the game itself. It's the video card, and it's the specific, I think we talked about this when there's like a news topic.
Starting point is 01:27:43 Like it was, it's the, it's the, it's the video cards specifically and the capacitors that you're using. So I guess just because of the pandemic, it's hard to get parts in general. So certain cards from certain manufacturers are using a certain part that basically helps like regulate power. And they're sourcing them from a bunch of different places because, you know, it's hard to get anything right now. So I guess these cards in particular have a bad part that if you, if you work them too hard, they just stop working. right so when the cards first came out this I think this was a problem kind of like across the board There was that patch that came out through the Nvidia G-force update or something and that basically made it so that your card can't work any harder than like whatever percentage this is right So they basically kind of fix the issue sort of by just making it so you can't push the card to the point where like it explodes
Starting point is 01:28:36 What happened in the game is that when you load into the game menu and a lot of games actually do this the frame rate is uncapped and the game menu because there's nothing to render is just the game menu right but this was but this was pushing this this game was pushing so many frames in the menu that it would work the video card too hard on these specific cards with these bad capacitors that it broke the card so it's like a perfect storm of like literally everything happening just to break people's video cards can you imagine like you're super hyped up for this game and then like you wait in line all day you're reading in line for hours you know hours you like your number 5,000 and then you're like you're counting down and then you get to the front of the line and and then you play and then like you open up the menu and like from the menu
Starting point is 01:29:21 your graphics card just fries yeah just be like wow like I'd be so one's asking in the chat uh wait is nivitia not a good card because they want to order an h1 pre-built so the current ones that are coming out are fine it was the older in video cards like like first batch rtx like 3090 cards that had it and it was specific specifically from that one manufacturer. So you should be good. But if you do ever run to that problem, you can always contact EVGA and for what I hear.
Starting point is 01:29:47 They have stock, like set, ready to go. If this is a problem, you contact them through RMA. And then for me to hear, it's like almost like, almost like next day or like same week exchange. But don't call me on that. I don't work for EVGA. Hit them up. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:02 You know, I have to say this because I've never been a hardcore PC gamer, but now that I've been creating more content I've been trying to slowly upgrade so I'm planning to to to do that to get my part so Nvidia sent me at 3080 I have it still in a box just waiting for me to to start like upgrading and buying the pieces and everything so any tips please let me know I'm slowly upgrading for me man you know so I think tip number one is uh I guess don't play New World. I guess so, yeah, that's the number one tip, right? Second tip is don't put your computer on the floor, right, Evan? Yeah, that's another good one. Yeah, yeah. Before we wrap this up, Danny, I wanted to ask you,
Starting point is 01:30:56 do you have any questions for us or the community before we get out here? Yeah, yeah, one last question for me for you guys. I think what is it that caught your attention about creating podcasts for you guys? And also, is there any, because today's international podcast, I always ask this question to everybody. What is like your favorite podcast is listening to? It doesn't have to be gaming. It could be anything. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:22 So I'll let Dennis answer this after me too. But for me personally, like I've always been a fan of radio. When I was a kid, I used to do fake radio shows with my sisters. I still remember like the call sign. It was K-R-A-B radio. crap. Nice. That was cool.
Starting point is 01:31:41 It was our initials. My first name was Rafael. So it was like Rafael, Alexa, and Brenda. And like I've always been a fan of radio, man. Like, and not just radio, but also podcast. Like when podcasts became a thing, you know, I just consumed them like crazy. I listen to more podcasts than I do music. And I love music.
Starting point is 01:32:02 And I listen to music all the time every day. And I still listen to more podcasts. So when it came time for, us to make the podcast. The way that came around is, you know, we were, we were in our Discord server and we just wanted a way to interact with our community on Discord with something else and just like, here's a picture, some texts, and a link, now click it and do this and show, like, it was just like, we want to do something more than just typing back and forth.
Starting point is 01:32:33 And we're like, you know, it would be cool. like an interactive podcast where, you know, we're just talking. And people can ask us questions and chat live and maybe we could unmute people and talk. So that was it. It wasn't nothing more than we just wanted a way to connect with our community besides just typing with them, you know? How about you, Dennis? I started doing a podcast because Ivan told me to when I started working here. No.
Starting point is 01:33:01 I mean, I've always loved podcasts. You know, I listen to a ton of them. I mean, I listen to, like, giant bomb cast every single week. I listen to this one called Business Wars from Wundry. I don't have you guys heard that one before, but basically, he basically, the host tells the story of, like, so, like, the current series they're doing right now is Death Row versus Bad Boy Records, right? Which is, like, right on my alley because I love hip-hop.
Starting point is 01:33:25 And he'll, he'll basically kind of go through, like, the timeline of, like, this company or, like, these two competitors in, like, their, like, business fight, basically. and he does like voice acting for it so it's like a little kind of like it's a little cheesy because he's like you know well what's up i'm biggie right but like it's also kind of endearing because you're kind of like hearing like a story told through these people sort of right especially you know like getting that around anymore um so like i've i like learning about all kinds of random stuff like i'm a big like video essay watcher or listener on youtube like i'll load up a hour and 30 minute video and just grind in a video game or something and like that's for me like
Starting point is 01:34:05 relaxing so those are the kind of podcast that I listen to is very like informative like you're learning about something about history or the something that happened in the past um that's cool I've always been into like you know production and like you know streaming stuff like that I mean I've like the first podcast I did I was 1819 when I was like working and I were working but I was part of the distorted community and we did like the unofficial official official you know you know, community podcast. And I just, you know, I've always done audio production, you know, I've done e-sports, you know, freelance, stuff like that.
Starting point is 01:34:39 So I've always done something that has to do with like live production. Yeah. You know, the first time I went to an e-sports event was for MLG back in the day. So this is when, yeah, this is when they only had Halo 2. And I think they just added Smash Bros in there. But, yeah, I met a lot of the pro players. And then one day I was interviewing. I don't remember if you remember this, this guy, T-square back in the days.
Starting point is 01:35:08 He was also a pro player for MLG. And I was interviewing him and he was like, hey, is it okay if they filmed this? I'm like, yeah, sure. He didn't mention what it was for or nothing. And then I found out it was for MTV True Life that came on TV. Yeah, so they never called us a podcast. They called us an internet, a local radio station, they called us. Oh, Lord.
Starting point is 01:35:30 Yeah, that was a pre pre podcast man. That's funny. Yeah. Yeah, I think about that too sometimes. I'm like the definition of what a podcast is, it's kind of, it's getting a little blurry. Because I noticed that a lot of podcasters are incorporating video now. Like that didn't, you know, and like this becoming more of like a almost like a TV show in a way
Starting point is 01:36:00 because it's kind of expanding beyond audio, but it's still a podcast, but now there's like different elements to it. So it's been interesting seeing the, the evolution of podcasts and the direction it's going. I think they're going to be around for a long time. Yeah, and I'm fine with that because when a person that discover a podcast on YouTube,
Starting point is 01:36:21 like, look, for me, I don't call that a podcast, but it's fine. Like, people will call it. But when a new person that just discovered podcasts for the first time on video, that will help not only me, but other podcasts to get discovered because now they're going to go online and be like, what is a podcast that Poppy will probably will pop up with Spotify, Apple Podcasts and so on. And it's going to help for more shows to get discovered. Right now, there's like 2 million shows that's been out there now, 2 million podcasts. When I started, it was not even 100,000. It was like way less than that.
Starting point is 01:36:59 You know, but I'm glad to see more people creating content of all type of genres, man. So it's growing, man. So the future's looking really good, man, more than ever. And maybe one day we'll see you in the Hall of Fame. One day. I know. Yeah. All right, Dennis.

Starting point is 01:38:20 And the game looks super good, too. I've been watching some streams. of people playing it it looks really really good it looks super cool yeah and the the artwork that we put on the case wrap looks very cool it almost looks like a like an anime star wars yeah it does isn't it yeah it's really cool speaking of which go watch the anime star wars they hear it's really good i haven't seen oh visions visions yeah i've been lagging on that one but um i heard it's really good because uh me and the me and my partner we're going through all the star wars movies right now By the way, if you put a Japanese closed captions on Star Wars, it becomes an anime.
