Starting point is 00:01:08 What a perfect intro. Hello, everyone, and welcome to episode 113, I must have 133, of the NZXT podcast, the official podcast of the NXT community. This podcast is recorded live every Thursday at 10 a end Pacific Center time of the official N60 Twitch. It's available to stream on demand on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud. So get ready to blow a 13-0 lead, my friends, and the colony games, because we're about to spill all the tea. My name is Dennis, and with me, as always, is Ivan. What up, Ivan? Happy Friday, June.
Starting point is 00:01:50 or baby boo happy Friday junior how's it going how you been how's your week been uh it's actually pretty bad someone stole my some of my catalytic converter you've been dealing with that last couple of days i've never had anybody steal anything from my car ever but i've always been worried that like when i go somewhere i'm gonna like come back to my car and like it's like on the on like the i don't know like the wheels are taken off and is sitting on bricks or something yeah it was really weird man like i've never had anything stolen from my car either And yeah, I got in my car and I turned it on and sounded like I was driving like a like a 1950s hot rod or something. It's so loud.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Yeah, I was, I was Googling like like a like a how do you know if you're if your catalytic converter gets stolen? And like the first thing is like, oh, you'll know. Like you'll set the car. You'll know. You'll know. You'll definitely know, man. You'll 100% know, yeah. Today's special guest is the marketing NPR manager for the United Kingdom.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Trishna Cole. How you doing? Hi, I'm good. Thank you. How are you guys? Great. Hello. Good day. In it, brough, right? Is that? Oh, gosh. How are you doing, Trishna? Are you excited to be on? Yeah, I mean, it was a bit last minute. So I didn't have much time to mentally prepare for this. It's not something that I've done before. So quite nervous. Not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:03:21 But yeah, no, it's good opportunity to get to know everyone on Discord and just have a chat with you guys because we chat in general anyway. Yeah, apologies for the suddenness of the request to have you on the podcast. We were originally going to have the queen, but she ducked out the last minute. So we thought who got mad because I wouldn't bow to her. Yeah. So we decided like who would be the next best person to represent the UK and we figured it would be you. So here you are. And we're excited to have you.
Starting point is 00:03:51 I used to feel that is. Actually, I think she's a pretty small woman. I don't think she has pretty huge shoes, to be honest. Yeah, I think she's probably like five foot something. Probably the same high, actually. I'm quite short, so the same shoes. Right. So Trishna, we have to ask you.
Starting point is 00:04:13 First thing, who are you? Who is Trishna? What do you do? Why are you here? So I'm the UK marketing and PR manager for NST. Who I am. I'm just a girl trying to figure out the world. No, I don't really know how to do a little introduction for me, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:04:37 I've been at NST for just under a year. I joined in January, the beginning of January. So it was a lot of learning because obviously there was nobody doing the marketing for the UK before. It was done by the sales guy. So it was pretty much, here you go, here's the reins, do what you like, basically, which was great because it meant that I had a lot of control over what we wanted to do in the UK and it was starting from scratch.
Starting point is 00:05:09 So that was really nice. It was really nice to be able to get my tea stuck into and take it over. Do you see your tea stuck into? Yeah. Okay. What does that mean? When you sink, like when you stink your teeth into something, do you want to do you? Oh, teeth. Oh, tea.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Like, sipping tea, I was like, stick my tea into something. I'm like, I'm not sure that's how that works, but I think you tried it sometime in the 1800s or something, right? So you're the marketing and PR manager. What all do you take care of every single day? So pretty much anything to do, related to. to influencers, for example. That's something that we started from scratch for the UK for. So it meant that I was doing a lot of research on Twitch, on Instagram, on Twitter,
Starting point is 00:05:58 just basically looking for people who I felt met the NZXT standard in terms of like our values. And people who are small enough to basically need a lot of room to grow so that we could help them grow alongside us. I do PR as well, which means I'm talking to media companies, sending out samples for reviews, organizing things to be sent out, and also managing a big budget. So I say big, relatively, but it's the first time I had to look after an actual budget myself. So that was something that was getting used to making sure that we were under budget was before I just got given, here you go, here's your money. Right.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Go do what you want with it. Is a question. If you saw Ivan and I now on this podcast, would you send us up to be influences for NZT, UK? I need to know your stats first, to be honest. Right now we're at 121 viewers. And no. Okay. There mind then. And also, she only gives money to people who say NZT, and we don't say that. That's true.
Starting point is 00:07:13 That's true. That's true. That's true. That's the right way to say it. I mean, you guys have already got product placement in the back of your cameras. You're clearly brand loyal. So for me, that's a really good tick. I would definitely be engaging in conversation with you because you clearly are fans.
Starting point is 00:07:27 So I would say yes. There you go. Easy. That's how you do, folks. Easy peasy. Just be on brand all day every day. And eventually someone who doesn't know how to pronounce Zs will give you some money to talk about product. What did you do before in ZX2?
Starting point is 00:07:43 I was working, still within the industry, I was working at Azus, another company with a pronunciation issue when their name. Yeah. Is it, is it Ais or Asoos? Azoos. I've heard it pronounce both ways. Yeah, a lot of people say AIS and we've got a fashion brand in the UK called Aesos. So sometimes when I would talk to people and they would say, you know, who do you work for? I say Azoos.
Starting point is 00:08:13 and they'd be like, oh, ASOS, you mean? I'm like, no, it's nothing, nothing like. A Zedos. A Zedos. No, it's, yeah, so it's always an internal, it was an internal debate about whether it's ACES or a Zeus, but it's, it's a Zeus, yeah. I just call it Suss. Super ACIS.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Yeah, so I was working there before doing marketing again for the UK, and I was in charge of pretty much everything, marketing-related, that didn't have anything to do with social media. So pretty much similar to what I'm doing now, but as well as working closely with the retailers in the UK, so like, for example, scan and e-buyer and Novotech and overclockers, just making sure that our products look good on the web page
Starting point is 00:09:02 and I was there for just over three years. So that was a really good experience, really good way to learn a lot on the job because that was my first job outside of university. I'm counting my uni placement. Where did you go to school? I went to school in Coventry. It's in the Midlands of the UK.
Starting point is 00:09:26 It sounds like somewhere Harry Potter would go, to be honest. Coventry. Haventy to you. What did you study there? I studied advertising and marketing in there. Nice. I was going to say, in the UK, there's an older person saying, Youngers don't, younger people don't say it nowadays, but they used to say, I'm going to send you to Coventry.
Starting point is 00:09:52 And that's like, basically they're going to shun you, you know, get rid of you. They're going to ignore you. And it was a running joke in my family because my mum and dad's like when they were annoyed at me or whatever, they would say, I'm going to send you to Coventry. And then ironically, I ended up going there for university. That's just how it worked out. It wasn't like sublimlim messaging or anything. And they groomed me to go there from a young age. I feel like out of every, any country like in the whole world, I feel like the British have the most sayings.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Would you agree? Sayings? Yes. Yeah. And towards the end of this podcast, I do have a British slang test for you. So hopefully you've brushed up on your sayings because I have a whole list of them here. I'm going to go down in a bit. Trishness, someone in chat wants you to say the word water.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Water. There you go. Water. Water. Is that how you, American is water? Can you do an American accent? I am awful at accents. Really, really bad.
Starting point is 00:10:58 I'm not even going to attempt it. I'm just going to embarrass myself. What's drinking is water. How do you say it? Water. Water. Water. I can't do it when I'm smiling.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Water. Water. I mean, that sounds much nice than the way we say it. Like, we just add like a deep. and everything, especially here in California, like we don't pronounce anything. We just let the word flow into like whatever like mush or like mouth does.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Strzscheanah, what is your favorite NXT product and be honest? Put me on the spot. I was on the spot. You saw the trailer. You added things to the trailer. None of this should be surprised. You're actually the first guest who have probably like looked at the
Starting point is 00:11:46 the Trello board before coming on the podcast. So you're kind of cheating. I mean, I like to be prepared because, you know, otherwise, your mind goes blank and you're just sitting there. Like, what am I going to say? What's my name? Who am I? Kind of thing.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Wait a minute. So, yeah. My favorite NZT product will probably have to be our cracking caller with the LCD display. For me, I just think that's great. The fact that you can customize it, add your own gifts. You can easily have, you know, your temperature showing. The only problem is, is I know it's sacrilege, but I don't actually keep my PC on my desk. It's on the floor.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Oh, podcast over. Yeah, we're done. So I wouldn't actually benefit from that, but I just think it's great. All right. Show over, bye. Why is it on the floor? It's purely desk space. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:44 You get a bigger desk. Yeah, I just don't have the room. Yeah, I know, I need to. But I'm like, it's okay. Okay, you get more FPS anyway by putting it on the floor. And it's a good footrest as well sometimes. Yes. That's actually very true.
Starting point is 00:12:58 When I had my H440, that thing was so, like, warm because of all the padding in there to keep it from, like, making a bunch of noise that when it got really cold, I just put my feet up on it. And it was really nice and toasty. So there you go, guys. Our case is good for something. Trishna, next question. And this is the hard one, okay? What is your least favorite N60 product? and be honest because Johnny's listening and he'll know if you're lying.
Starting point is 00:13:22 My least favorite is the cases. Why? And the reason for that is because I don't have one. What you don't? No, I don't. I'm jealous. I look at them. I get envious and I'm just like, I don't have one and it annoys me.
Starting point is 00:13:37 You should get in touch with the UK PR marketing manager to send you one. Yeah, they could probably get you a sample to use for like review purposes and something like that. Well, I got my PC when I just left working at Azuse And I needed a PC So I went obviously to go buy one And I was like, okay, what was my hierarchy in terms of price? I was like, case needs to be the cheapest Just so that I can afford the best component.
Starting point is 00:14:04 So for me, that wasn't a priority. I was like I can always buy a new case It would be nice and easy to replace Whereas like trying to get a decent graphics card And motherboard and everything That was more important for me in terms of cost because they last a lot longer. It kind of reminds me something that happened earlier in the week.
Starting point is 00:14:22 We launched our Mass Effect Puck. Andy, our American PR manager here, he tweeted out that, you know, he bought the Mass Effect Puck. And I replied to him, and I told them, that's cool. I'm getting mine from the PR sample. Yeah, so am I, dude. I'm going to grab one so I can mix my content around it. And I'm like, why would I?
Starting point is 00:14:45 buy anything, like I can use it for work and then I just keep it because, you know, it's a sample. Why is any, you're buying products? I don't know. Actually, you know, I think you bought it. I don't know if you have samples for that because it's a limited release. I didn't see any in the marketing room. So maybe that's why. I thought that was funny.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Yeah. So what you're saying is he's out there trying to support the business and you're just taking advantage and getting freebies. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, listen, we have a.
Starting point is 00:15:14 a huge audience, right? We are responsible for, I would probably say millions, hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue every single year. I think a puck is perfectly okay. Yeah. Just saying, right? Because no Johnny's listening.
Starting point is 00:15:30 That's on commission. One free PC. Trishna. Do you like when people call you Trish? Because I always wanted to call you Trish, but I feel like you probably hate it. Something tells me you don't like it. That is correct.
Starting point is 00:15:42 I absolutely hate being called Trish. What is that? I'm curious. Hate is a strong word, not to be used lightly, but I genuinely hate it. What about when we call you British? No. Like any version of Trish is just a no-go for me. Has to be Trishner. The whole thing.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Whole thing. Does anybody call you any other nicknames other than just your full name? Um, I have a pet name from my... from my boyfriend, but, and then my brother calls, my big brother, he calls me Pishna. Can you explain what? I have no idea. It was just something that he did when we were younger. He called me Pishna, just, just in a teasing way, and he just kind of stuck. So it's an affectionate name that he calls me. So he gets away with that. That's okay.
Starting point is 00:16:38 It's close enough. My sister's name is Zulema, which is like an Arabic name, I believe. and I call her zoo Lamer or I call her Zuber's or like half of her friends call her Zuzu but I remember one day I was like, hey Zoo where's all the animals and she absolutely hated it
Starting point is 00:17:00 I just Yeah, it's just something I do with like names and stuff Right another hard question If you're an animal What would you be and why? This is the real This is the real serious question here. Bangers only on this show.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I think I'd have to do a little bit of a cop-out, which is choosing my favorite animal, which is an elephant. I think they're absolutely majestic and they're beautiful. And honestly, I would cry if I ever saw one in real life because they're just so amazing. The reason being just because they are in a family unit a lot, they have really close bonds and relationships with each other. They live for so long. They're obviously very intelligent and emotional. So I think it would be nice just, you know, roaming around the savannah, just, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:52 finding a little place to have a drink and then you jump in. You have a little bath. I love bath. So that's right on brand for me. I think that's my answer. Yeah. Ivan. What am I would you be and why?
Starting point is 00:18:06 I've actually never asked you this. I'm curious. I would be, even though, like, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, honestly hate cats. I would want to be a, I would want to be a cat because cats don't need humans to take care of them. They're very independent. And yeah, I would hate to rely on having like a human to take care of me like a like a dog or something like that. So even though I hate him, I would pick a cat. Okay. Okay. Good to know. Good to know. That's cool. That's awesome. Do you hate them? jealous then I think that's what I'm hearing now. The reason I hate cats is because when I was a kid,
Starting point is 00:18:49 every single cat we had attacked me. I have scars on my on my hands from cats attacking me. And every single cat I had, you know, I had like four or five cats like ran away and got ran over. So it's like I just had like really bad experiences with cats and like just never liked them. Until this day, when I see them, like, I feel like they lock eyes with me. Like, they want to, like, jump on me or something. And I don't know. They're just not very cuddly either. And like I said, like, they don't eat humans, you know?
Starting point is 00:19:25 Like, they're basically on their own. Like, my parents, they're recently retired. And, like, their whole thing now is cats for some reason. So, like, they have, like, 20 cats that go in their backyard every single day to eat. Like my mom puts out food for them My dad puts out food for them No, she's one of those people They'll eat
Starting point is 00:19:46 And then like the cats will just disappear all day And I asked my parents I'm like where do you think these cats are all day And they're like I don't know Like yeah like these cats They just come here to take advantage of you Like if you stop feeding them Like they'll stop coming
Starting point is 00:19:58 And you know they don't need you Like they don't need you to survive They're very independent so Yeah they have no loyalty whatsoever cats That too They don't have any loyalty to their owners Like they'll just if you feed them like those they'll stay with you. So some someone told me the other day that they think people who hate cats are actually controlling and don't respect boundaries.
Starting point is 00:20:22 That's me. Because cats are very boundary oriented like like a cat will like roll over for like a belly rub and they're like, give me one and any more and I'll bite the heck out of you. And that's that happens to me all the time. But then I just fight the cat back and it runs away because it knows I'm not going to I'm not going to submit to no fuzzy animal. Someone asked what I would be, I'd be an axoaddle. I think assuaddles are awesome. And the reason why is because... Is that?
Starting point is 00:20:47 An axoladdle here. I will show you live on the show, live on the air. It's a salamander. Because we have the technology. It'd be right here. It's an axolotl is a little salamander that lives exclusively in one part of Mexico. And they're the cutest little things. And they have actually evolved to the point where they don't need to evolve
Starting point is 00:21:09 to live off land or on land if that makes sense. They're actually really, really cool animals. And I recently found out that apparently, like a lot of other salamanders, these things can morph. They can actually evolve into like a regular salamander, but it's very rare. But apparently when they do, they don't live very long
Starting point is 00:21:29 because once they do evolve, they actually don't live underwater anymore. They live on land, but more like a moist land, kind of like mud environment. and I guess most die because people who own them just don't know that when they get to that point
Starting point is 00:21:42 they're not supposed to be in the water and they just die and drown. So that's kind of very sad. But the super cool-looking animals are awesome. They're really cute. They're in Minecraft now, so that's a big plus, right?
Starting point is 00:21:50 And I feel like, you know, I feel like people are really kind of, you know, getting hip to the idea of this little wonky cell-em. How do you spell it? Axe-O-L-T-L. It's a like indigenous Mexican
Starting point is 00:22:04 Mexico or whatever was called. You never heard them before? Yeah, they're cool. I like ancient E type of animals. Like my second favorite animal is the chambered nautilus. Have you guys ever seen that thing? I think it's awesome. No idea we talked about.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Oh my God, let me show you. Yeah, it's too different to make. We're taking a detour. This thing is sick. This thing's literally a dinosaur. It's awesome. Look at it. Look how cool this thing is.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Is this sick? Can't see anything. Yes, you can. Go on Discord. It'll literally show you on Discord. Okay, hold up. No, I didn't. You know, right?
Starting point is 00:22:37 Because it just says no different. Here we go. Right here. Bam. Chimmonautilus. Look at this thing. This thing is literally, literally an alien slash ancient being, almost like a shark, right? We're like there's perfection and just haven't evolved in like a million years.
Starting point is 00:22:52 So things are awesome. And, yeah, axoadles, for those who don't know, they're, hold up back here because I guess, I guess it wasn't showing the image. This is great, by the way, for people who are listening. Not on Twitch, but, you know, it'd be that way. Anyway, that's what we're talking about here. What were talking about. Animals. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Trishna, how you ever met the queen? No, I've not, it's not something every British person gets to do, unfortunately. She doesn't come and bless you on your day of birth. Here's a follow-up question. If you were to meet the queen, would you bow for her? No, I wouldn't. Would you need her? Um, purely, purely because females don't bow.
Starting point is 00:23:39 They curtsy. Would you cursey for her? I told you. I would cursey for the queen because I don't want to get my head chopped off. See, that's what that's what I don't get about the king and queen. Like you have to like bow and curtsy to them. Like I would never bow to a human being. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:56 I don't, I think that's super, super weird. Like, why do they make you do that? Well, I mean, in recent, like nowadays, you don't actually have to bow or curtsy. You can just shake her hand. But it's more of a symbolic thing to bow or to curtsy, just to show your respect if she's the queen. I mean, we wouldn't. Some depths. We wouldn't, we wouldn't be here without her essentially.
Starting point is 00:24:24 So, I mean, you, you, I guarantee we would all be here if the queen ever existed. I guarantee you. Um, okay, we can, we can leave it at that. I would say she probably wouldn't be because the queen does like advise like parliament and stuff, right? Like she, she's not like an official politician, but she's seen as someone who has like a lot of knowledge and it's going to seem as like an advisor, right? I don't know. I don't have no idea what the king or queen do. Yeah, I mean, generally the queen doesn't really get involved with parliament.
Starting point is 00:24:55 It's all very separate, separate entities. But, yeah, she can kind of in diet. straight, she can get involved or perhaps suggest something. So that's something that she has done in the past. Normally it's just with separate things. Yeah, I've been... Because of corruption and all of that stuff.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Haven't you seen The Queen on Netflix all three seasons? The last season was sad, by the way. God damn. You should watch. It's actually a really good show. All the actresses who play The Queen are fantastic. Where we're out here? Here's my trailer. Where do they really chop your head off if you don't bow or crudsey?
Starting point is 00:25:30 Yes. No, no, no. They won't. Although I do know if you were to get knighted and you didn't bow, then you wouldn't get knighted and you'd basically get in trouble and just be told to leave. Oh, I would love to get knighted. I think that would be cool to get knighted. There's only like a few of them, right? Sir Yashoki.
Starting point is 00:25:49 Yeah, Sir Sir Yashoki. Sir Ivan. How dope does that sound? That sounds like a real night you probably lived at some point, right? Yeah. Sir Ivan B. Night off the round table. It'd be a poochy table.
Starting point is 00:26:02 So it'd be square with a hole in the middle. So to go back a little bit on your work slip, Trishnan, can you talk to us a little bit about some of the campaigns or some of the things you've done in PR? Like, what's like the funnest thing that you worked on so far in the year that you've been here? So the, for, yeah. So a couple of weeks ago, I was trying to remember the. exact date. A couple of weeks ago, you guys had Battersea on your podcast. So that was purely a UK campaign. So just to recap, in case anyone wasn't listening for the Battersea podcast, they're one of the biggest charities for cats and dogs in the UK. And, you know, they're kind of a big
Starting point is 00:26:51 deal in terms of they've got their own TV show with one of like a very famous actor. Tom Hardy has done partnerships with them. He's adopted some of their dogs. dogs and they basically wanted to widen their audience and get in touch with the younger generation because they're very much more hooked in with the older like our parents generation basically so they wanted to try and attract some gamers so I ended up seeing one of their adverts just happened upon it for their campaign and at that time I was looking to be able to do something in the charity sector because one of the things that I wanted to do
Starting point is 00:27:33 is the marketing manager now that I had more leeway in what we could do. I wanted to be able to give back to the community, give back to society and do something good with my role. And animals, dogs and cats, is something that I really care about and I know obviously ENDST do. We've got our own little pet slack channel
Starting point is 00:27:54 where everyone posts that animals. So I thought this is a perfect matchup. gamers, computers, technology and cats and dogs. So I reached out to them and they were really happy to hear from us. And then we just basically been in communication and I said, you know, I want to be able to do a really cool PC case wrap. Let's custom design for you guys. Get a full PC as well with all the components together.
Starting point is 00:28:21 And I spoke to one of the retailers. They absolutely jumped at the chance for the opportunity to do it. Nice. And then the campaign ended at the end of October. It did really well. And I'm chuffed to bits that two of the people that raised the most amount of money where our influences that I work with for the UK. So I'm really, really proud of that, that their community really pulled ahead.
Starting point is 00:28:47 And the winner's been chosen as well. You said you're chuffed? Chuffed. Chuffed. What's chuffed bits mean? So it basically means. like you're just super proud. You're very, very proud. Not a little bit of smug, but not smug in an arrogant way. So you just, yeah. Just very proud, right? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:29:08 very proud. Like that. Fept. It's proud. proud and happy. I'm, I'm going to write all these down and start using them in like my normal, my normal everyday life. Okay, so without naming names, it was very important to make sure that we're being very nice here. What is probably the worst campaign you worked on in like just general terms of what maybe a bit of question is like what makes a campaign or what makes like a project hard in the marketing and influencer space and PR I guess as well um honestly it's it's it's it's what makes it was what makes the campaign is also what harms the campaign and that's the people um so for example obviously I'm not going to give any details whatsoever
Starting point is 00:30:01 but for example if you had a campaign that you had a very clear idea of what you want to do and you speak to a company and say hey can you organise this for me can you do this this is what I'm looking for and then they say yeah yeah sure this is how much it's going to cost this is the timeline etc there's been instances where companies who you've gone to have basically let you down And it's, for whatever reason, it might be some sort of internal thing that they didn't have the time dedicated to it.
Starting point is 00:30:32 But sometimes things can miss the deadlines or the quality of work just isn't there. So an example that I can give from the past was there was a campaign that I did and they had to create a whole web page for it for people to land on for the campaign. And the web page was very poorly designed in terms of like the user experience. They had to click on like a lot of things to try and get any information. And then there was supposed to be a product list that people could click on to figure out to find that more info, basically. And it was essentially just like an Excel sheet rather than it being presented in a nice, fun, like an easy way. And this campaign was supposed to be launching in like a couple of weeks. And it was a case of, okay, we need to do some sort of damage control.
Starting point is 00:31:23 We need to sort this out really quickly. So it's such a shame when you've been working on something for so long and something goes wrong with whoever you're working with because you can't control it. You can't change it. You don't have an impact. You're basically at their mercy. So I think that's the worst thing.
Starting point is 00:31:41 But it's also the best thing because you can have really good campaigns and people can go above and beyond and absolutely wow you with what they create and with what they do. So it's a double-edged sword, I think. Yeah, I remember something that me and I've been working on where we contented and influenced it to do something for us. And it didn't come out the way we had hoped it would come out. And we didn't want to be rude and we didn't say anything, right?
Starting point is 00:32:03 Because, you know, that was the way that they made the content. And the way that we positioned the project was like, we want you to do what you want to do with it, right? So, you know, we're not going to tell you how it works. All we want is for you to do a thing surrounding this event and however you want to handle it cool. You know, we gave as many guidelines as we could and like, you know, some of my suggestions and stuff.
Starting point is 00:32:21 And it came out and not that great of a way. And then we had a conversation with like someone from their team and they're like, yeah, like they don't like, yeah, like, they don't like, thank God because I don't want to say anything, right? It's their content, right? But I'm glad that they recognized it. And then we worked on that to do something a little bit better, which didn't come out the way that I wish it would have come out. But I still think we did something really really cool and it was something they worked on together. I think that's the best part, right? I would say my least favorite part working in that space is really just legal stuff.
Starting point is 00:32:49 It's just like you're sending one document and then there's a bunch of red lines and then they go back and then there's a bunch of other red lines and then they go back and they see more red lines and they go back and actually we're going to add this part back in never mind and this is like that's probably like the longest process of all that stuff I would say it's just the the going back and forth with like the the money people and like the legal people right yeah I mean luckily for the UK at least I managed to get most of that out of the way when I kind of started because I created um I edited like a template example of a contract for an influencer and I just kind of tweaked it was look did a lot of back and forth with legal, them suggesting new things and changes to wording and
Starting point is 00:33:28 everything. But now it's at the point where that's basically my go-to template. So, yeah, the legal and admin, the invoicing as well and the paperwork, that can be quite a pain. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, man, I had a really good follow-up question too, but then we started talking about like, all of all this stuff. What is like one, say, if you could work with any company or like, influencer, who would it be? It's like your dream, your dream like collaboration or something. This wasn't on the question list. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:34:04 It's because it's a live conversation, Tristan. That's not works. No, I know. Oh gosh, I don't know, to be honest. I would probably want to do, like in keeping with the charity work, I would probably want to do something with WWF. The wrestlers? Because no.
Starting point is 00:34:24 The rock. Just not what the rock is. Just because it's to do with the environment and everything. And conservation, which is something that I also care about. So I think it would be great if somehow I could work with them. But I don't know how, you know, given how technology is and the conversation that's going on at the moment with sustainability. It'll be really interesting to do a campaign with them just to help protect. the planet basically and look after it.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Influencer wise, honestly, I don't know. Yeah, I can't answer that question, unfortunately. I think it really depends. I love to work with The Rock. He seems like a cool dude. Plus I want to rap to me. I want to spit some hot bars. I don't think he raps, does he?
Starting point is 00:35:18 Yeah, he does. Yeah, he also does. He just came out with the rap song. Yeah, he put out a song. Did he? Yeah. Have you never heard it before? No, no, I didn't think that was one of the things that you did.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Okay, so we're going to listen to this. DMCA get ready, but here it is. So just to note, this is a verse in a song. It's not like the whole song. Oh, is it. We can watch two if you want. Might as well. There's a video.
Starting point is 00:35:50 It's about drive. It's about power. hungry we devour put in the work put in the hours and take what's ours like into mourning my veins my culture
Starting point is 00:35:58 banging we're strange I change the game so what's my motherfucking name rock but the carot desecration defamation if you want to bring it to the masses
Starting point is 00:36:05 face to face now we escalating when I have to put boost the asses mean on you like a dream when I'm rumbling you're gonna scream mama so bring drama to the king drama but it's with extreme mana
Starting point is 00:36:14 the guy's so so buff he's huge yes like the older he gets The bigger he gets, it's just so strange. Thank you, brother, Tech 9. He takes a drink. It's like the least rock thing they like I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:36:32 I wonder if he wrote his own lines, probably not. I want to believe that he did. I want to believe that like someone like the rock wouldn't let somebody go for him. He'd probably like, I'm going to do this myself, right? I'm the rock. Look at all these muscles. If I can grow these muscles, then I can write.
Starting point is 00:36:50 I can write at least one of a first. The most important line though, like, do you smell what the rock is cooking? He could have put that in easily. So I got to have a feeling that like the WW is the E now, right, or whatever they're called. I think they might probably own that because I don't think he said that in like forever. So something tells you they probably own like the character of the rock or something. Oh, they do. Or like some of those lines for like licensing and like purposes.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Because I know they're very savvy and like licensing and merchandising and whatnot. even if they're from when I know their viewership is like falling but they're really good at like that stuff and they're really big and digital too like they're like one of the first big like organizations to get into like digital streaming and stuff so you know just waiting for all the sports leagues to get on that so don't have to ever touch like a TV or a uh legal stream ever again um um I was going to ask the question I haven't do any questions of Trevorhead because I was I was a I had something like now I'm I do actually a little bit thank you I'm blanking though I know like in the UK
Starting point is 00:38:03 there's like tons of sayings oh yeah here we go that's one that's one thing but I also feel like there's tons of different names for food and I always wanted to know this because this was actually mentioned in the in the original Ninja Turtles movie Yeah There's a scene where Like the scene where Casey Jones pops out and he says something like Or no, he's when he meets Raphael
Starting point is 00:38:30 And the Raphael says You gotta know what a Casey Jones hits Raphael with the cricket bat Right? And then Raphael goes, is that a cricket bat? Like, and I think the next line is What's next? A crumpet? You gotta know what a trumpet is
Starting point is 00:38:45 Before you know what a crumpet is. So I'm just curious, what the heck is a crumpet? Okay, I was wondering where you were going because I was so confused with that story. I was like, seriously, so I watched that movie, I was like, what is a crumpet? So a crumpet is essentially like a squidgy sponge with lots of holes on the top. There's that phobia that people have off like holes closely packed together. It essentially looks like that, but a lot less. I just sent Dennis the clip.
Starting point is 00:39:20 If you want to play it, Dennis, so you guys know what I'm talking about? Yeah, hold that. Let me. Hold that. I got to pull up another thing here. So I'm looking at it. So I just Googled Crumpit, which I guess I haven't could have done as well. It looks like an English muffin, or at least what we call English muffin.
Starting point is 00:39:35 Also, follow up question. No, not at all. Do you guys call English muffins, English muffins or just muffins? Muffins. Really? I mean, you can call them English muffin, but yeah, they're just generally muffins. Okay, good to know. All right.
Starting point is 00:39:49 Here's the clip up. But with crumpets, normally, normally what the tradition is, is you pop it in the toaster, get it nice and hot, and then you put butter on the top and it just melts through, and it becomes like a bit soggy, a bit squidgy, and then you can just just chew on it. Did you say squidgy? I have, I have a crumpet. No, squidy. Oh.
Starting point is 00:40:11 This is the crumpet. Yeah, that's definitely not like an English muffin. That's totally different. No, nothing like it. Yeah. It's kind of like an English muffin, but. There you go. It almost looks like a sponge.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I have to ask. Like, how is somebody is scared of holes? That makes zero sense to me. Like, how does what, sorry? How is someone afraid of holes? Like, do you see like mesh and you just start freaking out, you know? It's like if you have that fear of holes and you like open up your computer. Cryptophobia.
Starting point is 00:40:38 Yeah. That's the one. That's the one I was thinking of. Yeah, it's just like a specific fear when there's lots of holes closely together. Does that mean that they don't like mesh? Right. I think so. I think so. You need to have like some sort of like disclaimer.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Do they, do they hate like screen doors? Do you like not walk through them? Screen doors? Yeah. You know, like a maybe you guys don't have it. But out here we got screen doors to keep like bugs out and stuff. And it's like a door made out of like a mesh screen or something. And you always slam them.
Starting point is 00:41:15 I guess it's like what you have to do. Yeah. I've never understood how someone can. be afraid of that stuff like it could be kind of weird and maybe like unsettling but having like an actual like phobia like to the point where like you can't like you can't be around that like i can't wrap my brain around how that works anyway uh here here's a clip i've even wanted me to show why is this three minute long this is three minutes long i'm not watching three minute long video can you show me what uh the part like you can fast forward to the part
Starting point is 00:41:42 where like where raphael pops up so let's back up a little bit i think like great right right Right around there is good. Man, let's not forget my personal favorite. Two minutes for a high stick. I bet a five-minute game misconduct for roughing, pal. Hey, pal. Boogie? Now, who died and made you referee?
Starting point is 00:42:02 You did your job. Now, get out of here and let me do. Can we first off just acknowledge that, like, this giant turtle inside of, like, a trench coat and, like, a hat, and this guy just doesn't freak out. Mind these JV. Low Life's need to be taught a lesson. Not like that day, though. Look at that thing.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Not from you. How do you not know? Oh. It looks like you're the one who needs to be taught a lesson, pal. Class is paying 101. Your instructor's Casey Jones. That's a bat. That's not that.
Starting point is 00:42:30 I don't want to fight you. I think he hits him with the cricket bat after the baseball bat. A Jose can say, go bat. Tell me you didn't pay money. And so you fast forward a little bit. Look, back a little. Just do one sale, pal. Okay, so for future reference, Ivan is never allowed to post clips that in the song
Starting point is 00:42:51 ever again because I'm no idea what the heck I'm watching here. Is it here? It's right there, right there. Cricket. Nobody understands cricket. You got to know what a crumpet is to understand cricket. I'll teach you. Oh, I see what you saying.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Yeah, so when I was a kid and I heard that, I was like, what the heck is a crumpet? All right then. Yeah, just because cricket is a massive thing in the UK. So any kind of British person will know. Around the world, too. Cricket and crumpets. So, yeah, I get what you're saying. Because before, that made no sense to me whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:43:28 Yeah, cricket is a little similar to baseball, my favorite sport. I think the only other sport besides baseball where you're on defense when you have the ball, which is really weird. I mean, I don't actually know a lot about cricket. Don't tell the queen. Uh-oh, you're in trouble now. But we do have something in the UK called rounders. It's something that like every school kid has played for PE. And that's essentially like my understanding of baseball.
Starting point is 00:44:02 I mean, I don't know all the rules about baseball, but essentially you have like these little squares and you have to hit the ball and then run round and then the people have to catch the ball and try and basically tap you out before you get to each square. Never heard of that. Sounds fun though. I'm looking at like not looking at like not looking at.
Starting point is 00:44:20 not looking at clips, I'm looking at like the little preview of clips and looks at nothing like baseball. There's like sticks in the ground and this dude's like catching it like, he's like rolling, is doing like a, he's doing like a weird like roll. I don't, I don't, I don't, maybe he just sucks at it. I have no idea what's going. You're not supposed to roll in it. I don't know what he's playing, but that's, yeah. It was really popular.
Starting point is 00:44:40 It was a fun game. What about football? Do you watch football? Are you big football fan? Not at all. I do not like football whatsoever. Do you like any sports whatsoever. Are you a sportsperson at all?
Starting point is 00:44:53 Not particularly. I mean, being British, Wimbledon is definitely something that I will watch whenever it's on. It's a big deal. I like watching tennis. I like watching ice skating as well. I think that's, it's absolutely beautiful. It's really elegant, the music and all the movements. In another life, I would, I would have been an ice skater.
Starting point is 00:45:14 Me too. Me too. What kind of tea goes good with the crumpet, by the way? Breakfast tea. Is it just one type of tea is called breakfast tea? Or are like different types of teas that are considered breakfast tea? Well, you've got breakfast tea and you have like an afternoon tea as well. It's done by a company called twinings.
Starting point is 00:45:44 They have like breakfast, afternoon and then evening tea. But just any standard, you know, PG tips, York. share. What else? Tettley. Teckley tea. Any cup of tea goes well with breakfast. Do they drink coffee in Britain? Yeah. Yeah. It's slowly on the incline, I think, with like the influence from America and the other countries Europe, like Italy. Like coffee is becoming a lot more popular. But tea is definitely the staple. And there's an ongoing argument kind of within the UK about putting in, if you put in your milk first before your tea,
Starting point is 00:46:23 I never even need you can put milk with tea Yeah yeah of course That's it you have to I guess Boba right milk tea boba We don't we don't do black tea It's you have to have milk Milk goes after as well I don't put anything in my tea
Starting point is 00:46:37 I drink it I drink it straight unsweetened I think it's the best to be honest Which is funny because like my coffee I'll put like creamer and like sugar in it Or like milk or like oat milk Depending like what kind of coffee I'm making But yeah with tea I just go straight
Starting point is 00:46:53 like hard raw tea. Like I don't, I don't mess around with anything. Yeah, I think like, I started drinking like ice teas, you know, like at restaurants, which is basically just tea nice, right? Not sweet tea, which is different. And then eventually I was like, this actually tastes more refreshing than like all the sugar and stuff. So I just started drinking tea straight.
Starting point is 00:47:12 So like whatever the flavor the tea is, that's just what I drink. So like I would say like my favorite all around tea, probably would have to be an old gray. I just drink that or like a nice black tea. I just love black tea. I don't know why. I think black tea is like super good. It just, I don't know, it just feels really, I don't know, it's like refreshing. And like there's like a flavor to it, but it's not like sugary.
Starting point is 00:47:31 It's like your mouth doesn't feel a weird and you don't get like all, you know, whatever soda does to you. Or I don't know if you guys call it pop out there or something, but yeah, soda. No. Pop is definitely not a thing. Yeah, that's a, that's a, that's a Midwestern thing out here. Have you ever been out here? No. No, what?
Starting point is 00:47:51 You should come out then. Never been. We should have a whole meeting with everyone from all the marketing and PR and social teams and just hang out one day. And we can drink tea and play rounders. And I can bring some crumpets as well. I would say eat, eat crumpets and then we can tell you folks to leave their troop baffles at home. So let's let's talk about video games, Revy. Sorry, I saw everybody in chat, my bad.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Trish, let's talk about video games. What do you play? What are you playing right now? What are your favorite games? At the moment, I actually resubscribed to World Warcraft recently. So that's what I'm currently getting my teeth stuck into, as the saying is. So I took quite a long break from it shortly after kind of like the new expansion had launched. And I've played it on a night.
Starting point is 00:48:51 off basically since the end of wrath of the Lynch King, um, Litch King, sorry. And, um, yeah, I've been playing every single expansion. Whenever there's like a big patch, I always play,
Starting point is 00:49:05 but with breaks in between. So I've been playing that again recently and I'm loving it because there's new content to play, getting back into it. You kind of, you feel nostalgic and you miss it because it's, it's been around for so long. Um,
Starting point is 00:49:19 that you get like a craving, like a deep. craving for it I can't explain I think that's what happens when you play an MMO is it just becomes part of you right but other than that I've been playing Company of Heroes too my boyfriend essentially made me play it with him because he likes playing it and he likes to play play with me we play against the AI and everything and it's just mainly because they've got number three coming out which is a massive deal because company heroes came out long long time ago and still
Starting point is 00:49:51 being quite current, people really enjoy it because there's not a lot of that kind of genre of games out there at the moment, it's kind of like a dying genre, so the fact that they announced that they were going to do, number three. We've got quite excited about it, kind of stayed away from any
Starting point is 00:50:07 reviews and spoilers so far about the beta, but ramping up to that. And then now and then I play Total War Warhammer as well, number two, obviously. Which is brilliant. Are you a huge Warhammer fan? I wouldn't say I was a huge Warhammer fan.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Like I haven't got the tabletop games or the miniatures or anything because I feel like if I was to ever kind of go that way, I would just be spending my money and there would be stuff everywhere. And yeah, it's an expensive hobby. I know that for sure. But their law is really interesting. They've got loads and loads of books of it. One day I'll sit down and actually read one, but not yet.
Starting point is 00:50:49 Yeah, I, I like Warhammer and I explore that only through the video games. I don't read the books. I don't do the tabletop because I'm not rich. Yeah, I'd assume anybody who plays any kind of miniature game is just automatically like super just like balling because I can't imagine that I'll be being anything but expensive. I played it to the tabletop only and I thought it was really fun, some friends a long time ago. with the little miniatures? Yeah, it was really fun. Did you guys bust out the tape measure?
Starting point is 00:51:24 My friend had this whole setup. It was cool. Yeah, I was really curious one day because I realized I'd never seen what an actual, like, competitive game of Warhammer looks like. And these dudes are bringing out, like, measuring sticks and like, all right,
Starting point is 00:51:40 the distance is this. And I was like, this is so crazy. And I was like, this is not for me. No, I didn't know that. I've not seen it myself. Yeah, because things are based on distance and stuff and the amount that character can move per turn or whatever, which I wasn't aware was a thing.
Starting point is 00:51:56 But yeah, he was like, all right, if I'm at this angle, he can't, and then this is doing all this. He's got a whole tool to play a game. It's going to bring out the hammer to you, right? This is my war hammer. So we were talking a little bit before the show, and you told me that you were, you were plugged into the metaverse.
Starting point is 00:52:20 Is this true, Trishna? No, no, that wasn't what I was saying. I was saying, I know, because I know you were saying that you were feeling excited about it, and I was essentially, oh, no, because we're going to have a situation where, you know, from Wally, all of those people who are plugged into their screens consistently all the time, and they just get really fat and don't move and are completely disconnected from reality. Literally what's happening right now? Yeah, and then also Surrogates was a film that I mentioned that's got very similar, very, very similar theme actually that I know you guys said you hadn't seen.
Starting point is 00:52:58 I fully recommend to watch it. The kind of concept of that is very similar that people are at home sitting on their, I don't even know if this is spoiler, so I'm really sorry. It's been so long since I saw the film. But they're sitting at home on their computer, plugged into VR and they're essentially controlling this like. this person, basically, they're like, they're fake people out in the real world, living their life, doing what a normal human would be doing, but they're just, yeah. So I don't know how I feel about the metaverse. I'm quite apprehensive about it.
Starting point is 00:53:31 So we'll see. I feel like this is a question we should ask everybody, Ivan. So I'm going to start this trend now. Trishna, do you think we're living in a simulation? Do you think we're already plugged into the metaverse and we just don't know? I mean, I used to play the sim. a lot when I was younger. Like every single iteration of the Sims,
Starting point is 00:53:54 they used to have the expansion packs. I mean, I still play now and then in my off time. And that was definitely something that popped into my mind. Like, am I just a Sim, you know? Am I just going around this person just controlling me and doing what I am, like making me do things? I think it would be interesting that we were, that we were. But also that's absolutely terrifying
Starting point is 00:54:16 because you essentially realize that you are, not in control of your life and nothing matters. And I think when that type of thing appears and happens, things go wrong. Yeah. It's scary to think about for sure. But it is possible. That's, I guess that's a scary thing and also the fun thing, you know? I think it's scary.
Starting point is 00:54:39 I think it's actually kind of cool that we got to the point where you can just like simulate like living living beings. And I think that if it's like a true, true like real like end game of. civilization, uh, simulation, then we might as well be real anyway, right? If it's like that good at like, at like, uh, simulating life, then, then, then we are living, right? That means anime is real. I think the main question is probably why. Why are we, why are we in a simulation? Like, what's occurred? Uh, we, so if, so if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, because humans or intelligent life gets to a point where it wants to explore what life could be.
Starting point is 00:55:26 And computers have gotten strong enough where they can just simulate the thoughts and minds and wants and needs and individual thoughts of every single thing in that simulation. Are you essentially saying that we're AI? Like each of us is an individual AI just going about our life, experiencing things. Or, or thinking about this way, you're the only. AI and you're simulating your life, right? Basically, you're the main character, everyone else is an MPC. Think about that one.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Or what if all three of us are like in another dimension wearing virtual reality helmets simulating a podcast? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that could be it, right? We're like, we're just playing the best MMO in the world where I have to go take my dog out to go poop or something. very very mundane mundane stuff yeah but it gets like that would be like you know what you will want right like if you're making a perfect simulation you wouldn't cut out all the boring stuff because that's what
Starting point is 00:56:29 kind of what makes life life right is all the boring crap right if it wasn't for the boring crap then nothing would be exciting do do you play VR Trish now yeah I do I do I do play VR I play take your heads off take it off right now I broke into the Matrix, you need to get out. Take the heads of it off. Just lifting them. I'm self-aware now. Pete Sabre is pretty fun.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Beat Saber's dope. Yeah. I, uh, is there going on with? I was going to say like the, I like beat saber, but it's like, the reason I don't have a VR helmet is just because it's like pretty much the only game, I feel like. That's worth playing in my opinion of virtual reality. Like, I don't think there's like that one game that.
Starting point is 00:57:15 that, you know, it's going to make me want to just like, I have to buy a VR, some VR goggles to play this, you know. Like, Beat Sabre's cool, but I don't think I would buy a headset just for that game. I think the bright side, I waited so long to get a VR headset, purely because of that reason that when it kind of first came out and technology was there, games didn't really look that good in terms of graphics. they weren't polished. So, you know, I just kind of wanted to wait a couple years
Starting point is 00:57:48 until things got a bit better in terms of tracking and games. And I think we're kind of at the point where it's getting a lot, a lot better. Half-Life Aelix is one of the ones that I would like to buy at some point. I played Half-Life when I was younger, probably too young. But I really enjoyed the games. And it looks really, really good. and I've heard good things about it. So it's something that is on my wish list.
Starting point is 00:58:16 But Beat Sabre was the one that drew me in. Absolutely love it. It's great. Any VR titles that you're looking forward to? Other than AILICs, I'd like to also get Super Hot as well. That's another one that looks quite fun. Yeah, Super Hot looks pretty cool. Super Hot is great.
Starting point is 00:58:39 So what I would say, Ivan, is that the, The cool thing about VR is that when you play the right game, your brain kind of clicks and you're like moving in that 3D space. So like I have two headsets. I have a rift something, something with like the stupor wires and the setup. And I hated that thing because it was fun to play, but I didn't want to go through the trouble of like setting up the little like sensors and then plugging like three USB ports in. And then my HTML off my video card. It was like a huge pain in the butt. But when I did play with that thing, I played super hot.
Starting point is 00:59:13 I think it's like one of the first things I bought. And like that game like forces you to move around in your space because every, every time you make an action or something, time moves. Right. So if you're standing still, right, there's like a bullet in front of you. You go, okay, I'm going to dodge here. Right. And then you realize there's another bullet coming that way. So I dodge this way.
Starting point is 00:59:32 So you're like really like seeing it in like space. It's super cool. Yeah. It's really, really immersive. Yeah. And what really got me into VR, to be honest, was my quest too. So I just picked up a quest two over the weekend. And it is probably the best VR experience out there right now. And the reason why is because it's completely wireless. You don't have to hook up to a computer at all at any point if you don't want to. You can if you want extra power. But it's also a way for you to play with your PC wirelessly. So it streams the content. So your computer is doing all the heavy lifting. And the headsets basically is just like a dumb screen essentially. It's really cool. Um, I, the other VR game, I don't know you guys have played it. Um, Tetris effect. Is there, is there touch's, yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:19 You guys play that? No, no. I used to, I used to love playing Tetris on the Game Boy. I used to play it for hours when I was younger. I didn't know there was a VR version. So have you guys heard of the Tetris effect like that? I guess it's not like a syndrome or anything, but I guess like there's this thing called the Tetris effect when you're playing so much Tetris effect.
Starting point is 01:00:38 that you start piecing like everyday items together like you know you would see like a can and like this thing and you like try to like piece it um so this game yeah it's kind of like that where you're inside this little tetris like universe and like you're inside it is really weird i played it one time it was pretty cool but i still didn't buy the uh the goggles for that they're expensive you know like uh headset still is i mean uh VR still isn't like It's it's it's not it's not inexpensive and it's almost at the verge of being like prohibitively expensive. But like if you have like, you know, a couple of free extra, you know, 100 bucks. So, you know, or whatever. It's you can get some pretty experiences. But yeah, like the the like whole room scale like super big stuff. But that's like super like super like not. Now, I wouldn't say it's worth the cost, in my opinion, but I've never, I've also never used it.
Starting point is 01:01:41 So, you know, maybe having, like, the Valve index with, like, you know, the whole room is just dedicated to VR. It's probably really cool. But honestly, like, the experience I have with the quest is, like, really great because I don't have to really do anything special on it. The only thing, though, about VR is that it's still very new and it's still very, like, there's, like, a lot of DIY-e to it, you know? Like, I just found out how to side-load apps onto it. And I found out how to like, do like streaming to like my, from my PC, but through a different method and like side loading like stuff. It's that there's a, there's a lot to it. But like I feel like the way that Facebook or meta has set it up is like you first get the headset and you just have everything on the headset itself.
Starting point is 01:02:23 So you just play on that and you have to worry about anything else. And then if you want to do the the more crazy cool stuff, it's all like labeled and like kind of almost. hidden in a sense. There's like a secret app store on the Oculus store. Yeah. Which is called the App Lab and it's for apps that haven't gone through like the Oculus like certification process to be like, you know, comfortable and like whatever, whatever. There's like there's like a list that they got to approve. And you're allowed to put like more experimental like in progress games. And I played one yesterday where it takes your play space and it turns it into like a physical puzzle. So like you're walking through like
Starting point is 01:02:59 was I was in a I was in like an ancient pyramid right and my one hand was a flashlight so I'm literally flashing the flashlight around I'm getting I'm getting a little weird here and um I'm I'm like looking around and like I hit this moment where I had to walk on this bridge and parts of the bridge were like kind of breaking like in like a pattern right so you had to get across without falling and like I was literally like I felt like I was about the fall off it took a bad step and I saw myself like taking a step forward. Oh, and I kind of walk back a little bit. Like just this thing in my face.
Starting point is 01:03:34 I'm like, in like a dodge. It's, it's really crazy. Like, once you like really get into it and you kind of let your mind kind of like take, you know, over or whatever, it's, it's cool. I actually do recommend it. Yeah, that sounds really fun, really fun. Yeah. It's, it's, yeah, if you, if you need, uh, some recommendations,
Starting point is 01:03:51 but you have a Slack channel, uh, which I found out yesterday that we can, uh, you have to add me to that. Yeah. It's pretty dead. I'm surprised that Revy, as your friend from the other continent over there, hasn't, hasn't added you to it. But, you know, it's okay. That's dope. It's really cool.
Starting point is 01:04:15 It's really, really awesome stuff. I am now, I would say, a 100% like believer in the tech. I think it's great. I think what it needed was it would be a little bit cheaper because it's not that expensive to get a quest to. I think like the lowest, the lowest versions was like 200 bucks or something, right? I mean like a $3,000 computer. Well, it's the thing, you don't need a computer for it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:38 Oh, yeah. It's optional. It's optional to basically enhance your experience, which is great. And especially with the quest, you can make your own, you decide your own kind of play area. So if you're having, you've got limited space, you can still use it perfectly fine. Whereas I think with the other ones, that's what put me off with the, other ones is that you had, you know, the sticks. You had to have like a dedicated space and, you know, I don't have a lot of room.
Starting point is 01:05:04 I'm in a flat. So, yeah, it's great. Really immersive. But I won't touch scary games for the love, like life, for life nor money. I will not touch them at all. Yeah, I'm not down either. You guys know that they're not real, right? Doesn't matter, Ivan.
Starting point is 01:05:20 You say that, but it's so immersive. It feels so real. I was, I tried out. There was like a YouTube VR. They've got some YouTube. VR videos and there was one that was um the roller coasters oh no it's for roller coasters so i get i get travel sick quite badly like in the car and a bus and what have you so um i i just wanted to try out roadicose because i love roller coasters i love going to theme parks and everything but um i ended up
Starting point is 01:05:48 going on the roller coaster youtube um video and i felt so sick i had to turn it off it it just felt like i was still moving and i was getting really motion sick which is crazy. Yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm going full in on it, you know, I've done, I've done the side loading. I'm on the App Lab now. I, uh, I purchased a different facial interface, you know, for like the, the, the front. So it's a little more comfy. And I also bought a replacement strap that has a built in battery in it.
Starting point is 01:06:17 So I'm like, I'm like, I'm like fully, I'm like fully immersed. Like, I think like the, I got it like Sunday morning. So I was, I was streaming on my own and I were just tired about VR and like, you what, I'm going to buy this thing. So I just bought it and it was like next day day delivery. So it was like perfect, right? Like, this telling me he wants me to buy it, right? So I buy it. It comes in Sunday morning and I start messing with it. And like, I think maybe within like, within like 20 minutes to an hour, I was like, okay, yeah. Like this is, this is really, really pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:06:46 Like 100%. I like, I really want to start using this things. And I think we've, uh, we've run out the battery in this house here at least once a day since we got it. Like we just can't stop messing with it. Yeah. So like someone take it off and we'll swap off and they just the straps and they start playing something. And I'll go, you know, like do something on the computer. And the funny thing about it is that I've actually used my computer less since I've gotten the VR. Because I'm not playing games on my computer.
Starting point is 01:07:12 I'm doing, you know, the streaming and stuff through it. But all the gaming I'm doing now is just, it's just to the VR because I'm like just messing with all the stuff that's on there. And I've just been playing games. I've been working on the couch. It's actually the first time I've been on my computer for longer than an hour since, since like Sunday. Wait, so have you been using the VR headset to work? No, I was contemplating using the VR to work,
Starting point is 01:07:37 but that means I would still have to be in the office because that's where my keyboard is and stuff. You can't really be really type very well, but I have seen that you can do like a virtual, like office. Because I know with the Quest home stuff, you have the like table things. you could put like on that table you can set like a certain spot in your space as the couch which you didn't know as a thing so like when you turn around you'll literally see like a digital
Starting point is 01:08:07 couch you can walk over and like sit on and I'm like this is the trippiest thing ever yeah I don't know I would ever really leave I think I think we're probably because it is made by Facebook slash meta now I think we are part of the metaverse whether we like it or not we're guinea pigs essentially no so um You know, Ivan, get out while you can. I'm enjoying the game. I'm ready to go. Yeah, I, it's, it's been, it's been a trip.
Starting point is 01:08:41 Like, just kind of getting into the community of VR and stuff. Like, everyone seems to be pretty cool, very helpful, which, which I enjoy. There's a lot of, like, you know, a lot of advice, a lot of content creators who just, like, just, like, exclusively do VR stuff. I didn't realize there was, there was that much. stuff like on it that you could do. And I think that, um, I think that it can feel like there's nothing to do with these headsets, but I think like if you dig a little bit deeper and like kind of ask around, there's like a lot of really cool stuff out there. Um, I've been really surprised, uh, with it. Very, very pleased. Um, it's been a while since I bought something like
Starting point is 01:09:20 this that was like, I don't know, like, like this kind of new, you know, or like this like different than like, you know, oh, I just bought a new video card or I bought a new game or I got a new monitor. Like, all these things are great, but they're like upgrades to things that exist, right? Like, once you're really getting into the stuff, it feels like, I know it's something like a, you know, like we're like VR bro now. But it really is different. Like, it's, it's kind of a game changer.
Starting point is 01:09:44 It's dope. Have you tried the, have you tried the, what's it called, the Space Sense update on, on the Quest 2? So there's this feature, right, that basically, so. The Questu has like the front tracking cameras, for those who don't know. Yeah. And there's a feature called Space Sense where it'll basically kind of keep like an eye, you know, on like what's going on.
Starting point is 01:10:08 And if something walks into your space, like a child or a dog or a person, it'll like kind of show up with like a weird kind of like outline. Think like predator, like thermal vision or whatever they do. You know like from the movie. So it's like that. So like I'm like moving around and then they see like this weird like distorted like almost like purple. fuzzy outlined like a cat walking by my foot and I'm like well this is really trippy but it's it's designed basically so so you don't kick your dog and you don't kick your cat or like
Starting point is 01:10:36 your children because it's happened so many times where the dog will like see me I'm doing something and he like lays down by my feet and then I step on him right and they're going to work and like well dude like I mean VR bro headsets on you get to get out of the way I and I've only punched my TV once so that's my update I won't even punch my TV once Oh, wow. Yeah. That's because it wasn't pay attention. You didn't break it?
Starting point is 01:11:00 No, I wasn't playing anything hard. I was like reaching forward and they kind of like tapped it. It was like a pop. Yeah, that's pretty much it. You should get it, Ivan. It's cool. Yeah, I probably will eventually. Join us.
Starting point is 01:11:13 Yeah. I will. I don't know what game. I have to wait for that game that I really want to play. I don't know if there's like if there is a that game. I think it's just like, like a new way to experience. Is there a baseball game?
Starting point is 01:11:28 I'm sure there is. There has to be a baseball game, right? Baseball game. Are you into, um, are you into sci-fi at all, like space and things like that? Yeah. Have you ever played Elite Dangerous? Never played that. Okay.
Starting point is 01:11:42 You, you need to play Elite Dangerous. And then what you'll find is, so essentially you have like your own ship. You can pick what type of ship you have, whether it was like a people carrier or cargo ship, spaceship and then you can do different roles like within the elite dangerous universe
Starting point is 01:12:01 where you could be like a bounty hunter so if someone else an actual player is naughty in the game by killing someone that they shouldn't and blowing up their ship
Starting point is 01:12:10 you can then get a bounty so your job is to literally hunt them down and and shoot their ship or you can be someone who transports cargo you can mine as well so you can go to like
Starting point is 01:12:22 little planets and mine little little meteors or you can do like a cruise ship where you literally take people on a like site around the galaxy and there's an add on like a plug in that you can get which automates um like the controls in the game via voice so you could just basically just be like you know hay ship put full speed on or turn off the lights etc and it will and it will kind of like okay Google? Yeah, basically. And there's a really good video I saw on YouTube a long time ago of this guy who was playing around with the voice ad on and he was saying, you know, things like
Starting point is 01:13:04 what is a black hole? And she was like talking, the voice comes in and was talking about the black car and the science of it. But most importantly, there is a VR version of the game. So imagine you're immersed, do this pilot. You're playing, you're playing the game. You're flying the ship. And then you have the voice commands as well, and you have this person talking to you. That would feel like you are literally in space commanding commanding ship. So I think that would be amazing. I have yet to do it. It does sound cool, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:35 I have yet to do it. I do have Elite Dangerous, but I haven't tried it out in VR. But that's definitely something that I will give a go when I can be bothered to connect it to the PC, basically. All right. It's funny. I have both Elite Dangerous and No Man Sky and they both have VR support. and from what I hear it's a really good support and I haven't touched it either.
Starting point is 01:13:54 I've been doing literally everything else except that. I even tried a gorilla tag last night, which is a... What's that? Oh, guerrilla tag is great. Okay, hold up. I can't really explain it and do it justice. I just have to show it because it's hilarious. Let me see.
Starting point is 01:14:13 I think it was someone, I saw someone had a really good video on this. Was it donkey? Did donkey do a video? No, someone did a video on it. But basically you're playing as like gorillas and you use your hands to like jump around. So let me see if I can find a good video for this. Hopefully there's no no no words in here. There you go, but Jenna Sown-Lopez is not too loud.
Starting point is 01:14:40 The most intense thing I've ever done. Listen, guys, thank you for joining. Today we're doing something special. We're playing a game called... What? too much talking yeah so basically use your arms to walk around it's why it's called guerrilla tag and you just gorillas it's hilarious
Starting point is 01:14:59 as one of those games were like everyone's on voice chat so they're just yelling at each other it's so funny take the thing and leave yeah i mean even that it's so it's so basic in terms of graphics but yeah it looks like a lot of fun are you ready yeah and the thing that's that's so on the things is kind of holding it back a little bit it's just a lot of these games look like but they don't look good this is one game i played it's called to the top which is super amazing i highly recommended it was it was 20 bucks and um it's just like when when when you when you get going um i got a show video about this is too good um i i like fell in love with it like i'm not i'm not even gonna lie um this is the place in the v yr version i guess but basically you have both hands
Starting point is 01:15:47 right and use the grips or the um the trigger to like grab on to certain objects right and um you do one to grab right and you kind of do like a you know like i'm climbing or something type of thing if you hold it if you hold two hands down and then let go you'll do like a jump or like a leap and this reminds me of like surfing in c s go yeah yeah it's like that and um i think uh the more consecutive like jumps you do the faster you go so the way the maps are design is like It's like there's no like linear way to get to the end, right? There's like a lot of different ways. And depending on your speed and like how good you are, you can like circumvent a lot of like the going around stuff.
Starting point is 01:16:28 And it's it's cool because you can play it like very basically or you can play it like super hardcore and go like really, really fast. So you see how this guy's going to jumping around and stuff. So you grab on, you jump and you use your momentum to get to the place. It's really cool. And there are some times where like you're trying to go from something. And then you know, okay, I'm not going to make 100%. So I have to like really reach out and then grab it. It's super, super fun.
Starting point is 01:16:53 And it's one of those games that's like, it's like experimental. It doesn't meet like the Oculus store requirements or whatever to be like a, you know, on the main page. But it's, it's, I'm finding that the cooler games are obviously like on this App Lab. And they're not like, you know, on the main Oculus store. because I think the reason someone explains to me the day is the reason why you can't find some of these like more cool experimental games is because they're trying to ensure that if you're using the headset for the first time, you don't come across like these like really weird potentially buggy unfinished games, right? They want to make sure that anything you're doing is very, very polished. But it also kind of makes it harder for you to find the really good stuff because a lot of the big games I think are fine. But like, you know, I want to do cool stuff, right?
Starting point is 01:17:41 I don't want to just swing a sword in like the 50th game that has, you know, sword gameplay or something. I want to do something different. So it's a, it's been great. The one thing I don't like, and I think this is the last thing I'll probably say about it, is there's three separate places to buy games in VR, right?
Starting point is 01:17:58 They're like Oculus stuff. There's the headset store. There's the Oculus store on your mobile, on your, on your PC, and then there's Steam. And the crappy thing is that none of these stores link up together. They're all completely. separate purchases. Blows my mind. It makes you so mad. It's super, super annoying. Because for a second, I was like, oh, like, if I buy it here, I can play them in the headset, right? Like, no, you get to buy
Starting point is 01:18:20 whatever you want on the headset through the headset. Or do, like, or, or side load it, which is done what the heck is this? Oh, okay, thanks. Text from A T&T telling me that they're, that they're building a new cell tower. I'm like, okay. Like, I don't care. Trishna, how much, how much time do you have left? I know we got you till 1130 our time and we don't want to take up more of your time if you're super busy and you've got to plug into the metaverse. No, no, I've got time, not problem. All right, cool.
Starting point is 01:18:58 So we're going to take this time right now and just open it up to community questions. If you folks have any questions for Trishna that you want to ask her about anything. Let us know and we will answer them for you. Before we do that, can I give her my British slang test? Yeah, for sure, for sure. I'm going to aggregate the questions as we're as are doing that. All right. Are people in the chat going to have to try and guess as well?
Starting point is 01:19:22 No, just you. Okay. I'm going to give you some British expressions and I want you to tell us what it means, okay? Okay. So the first one is daft cow. can you please i really want you guys to try and guess what you think it means oh i already know what it is but that's why i'm quizzing you oh okay because i just wanted to know how how what you would think it is before i tell you because i feel like that would be entertaining
Starting point is 01:19:55 for me a daft cow i guess i would think uh actually i should i have dennis what do you think a daft cow is uh someone who is dumb or sense. Krishna, what is a daft cow? Yeah, a daft cow is something that generally it's something that you probably call a woman. Just because calling someone a cow is something that people just tend to call women. It's like an insult for them. So like, oh, you know, you cow.
Starting point is 01:20:31 But yeah, a daft cow is just, you're just an idiot. You're like, you're an airhead, basically. Yeah, yeah, correct. The exact translation I got was an idiot. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so next phrase, Dennis, what do you think bits and bobs means? Like little pieces or like trinkets or something? I'm not sure.
Starting point is 01:20:56 Krishna? So in the UK, it's very common to have bits and bobs draw. So it tends to be somewhere in the kitchen, like a draw in the kitchen that you don't really often use and it's got bits and bobs in it. So it's just like things that you don't use very often that could probably come in handy. Like, for example, elastic bands or some clips or some screws or some washers and like pens, just bits and bobs. Yeah, the translation I got was various things. Yeah, various, various things that you don't need until you need it. Okay, Dennis, what does it mean if someone tells you Bob's your uncle?
Starting point is 01:21:39 I have no idea. I don't have an uncle, Bob. Bob's your uncle. What does Bob's your uncle mean? Why is he my uncle? Bob's your uncle is a term that you use. Like, say you're, I'm trying to think of like an example in a sentence. Bob's your uncle is kind of like, and there you go.
Starting point is 01:22:01 Exactly. And here it is. Yeah, there you go. That's what it means. I feel like that's an old term, right? I feel like that's not like a, is that still used? I feel like it's like an old term. It will be now.
Starting point is 01:22:12 We just brought it back, baby. All right, Dennis, what is a bog roll? A what? A bog roll. Bog roll. Yeah. Okay, can I have a hint. Is it food?
Starting point is 01:22:31 It's something that you would use in the loo. Is toilet paper? Trishna? Yeah, it's Lerol. Is that, is that actually what you, what you guys call it? Or is just like an outdated term? Um, I don't really think people use bog roll that often. I think it's more they just say Lerol.
Starting point is 01:22:52 But yeah, Bog roll. That is that bog roll is to something I think a parent would say that. My dad would say bog roll. Uh, okay. So these are boomer terms. Yeah, probably. This is a boomer British sloth. blank.
Starting point is 01:23:05 Basically, yeah. All right. How about, I got a couple more here. Dennis, what does it mean to know your onions? What the heck? I don't know. What does it mean to know your onions? Trishna?
Starting point is 01:23:27 Not a clue. I've never heard of that. According to this, it means that you're very knowledgeable. So I guess no one here knows their onions. Yeah, maybe that's a northern thing. Yeah, it's probably a northern thing. All right. Last one here.
Starting point is 01:23:42 Okay. Dennis, what does it mean to be dogs dinner? I'm the coolest person around. Krishna? That, again, is more of a northern term than a southern term. I think the dog's dinner, I think, is the same as saying something's the bees' knees. I think. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:08 And what is the bees' knees? And the bees' knees is just like it's the best. Yeah. So according to this list, bees' knees is awesome, but dogs' dinner is when you're dressed nicely. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:22 So yeah, I literally have a list of like 100 saints that I want to get through all of them. Like if you guys use Google British expressions, there's like literally thousands of them. Yeah. Really interesting language. It's great.
Starting point is 01:24:33 And the fact that you have, for such a. small tiny island there is just such a variety in language that people use like compared to the north the midlands and the south like we all have like terms like for example you have cockney rhyming slang that is just specific to that area it was really popular everyone just spoke that way but in the south like you wouldn't really have that or in the north you wouldn't have that like there's a debate about what you call um a BAP so I don't know if you guys have that Um, what is a BAP?
Starting point is 01:25:10 It's like a bread roll. A bun, like a burger bun. If you picture a burger bun, but it's not got seeds in it, it's just a soft white bun. I've searched BAP I get a K-pop group. BAPE? So they say it? BAP bread? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:30 So in, yeah, it's just like a bread roll. That's a dinner roll. Yeah, it's like a dinner roll. Is it a dinner roll? I don't know. Like a Kingsawain roll I've in here. I'll throw up a photo. This is a BAP.
Starting point is 01:25:42 Yeah, that's a BAP. So, like, in the UK, there are just so many different words, depending on where you're from, what you call it. Some people call it, a bun. Some people call it, I think, like a rock. A rock. Yeah, there's just loads and loads of different sayings for just this one thing. And there's just, like, anarchy, basically. and people just are arguing about what it should be called.
Starting point is 01:26:08 It's kind of like scone and scone. I've never heard scone before, but I've heard scone. Scones are good. I like scones. Scones are tasty. And that's another debate about food in terms of like, do you have jam first or do you have cream first? And that's again, like a north-south divide.
Starting point is 01:26:26 Wait, jam and cream? Yeah, like jam, strawberry jam and like whipped cream. Whipped cream. I've never had. whipped cream before? No? What do you have on your scones? Well, first of up, I don't really eat scones because I don't know where you get them.
Starting point is 01:26:46 Whip cream is liquid heavy cream is whipped. Oh, okay. Oh, so this is whipped cream. Yeah. And I think jam in America is called jelly, which makes no sense to me because jelly is a completely different thing to jam. Well, there's, there's jams, jellies, preserves. I think there's one other one.
Starting point is 01:27:04 I think they're actually different. I think a jelly is more like, let me see, jam, jelly preserves. Difference. Okay, jelly is made with strained fruit. Jam is made with mash fruit, preserves a whole fruit or large pieces of fruit. And then fruit spreads only fruit. These are 100% fruit, no sugar added. So there we go.
Starting point is 01:27:24 Yeah, so I think it's different. Yeah. Yeah. So in the UK, our jam, our jam is preserves. Okay. And then our jelly is like, you know, it's like hard and it's made with gelatin. And he haven't in like little pots. I think you guys call it jello.
Starting point is 01:27:41 Jello? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So that's just, that's jelly. That's the one you put in the fridge and it, and it gets all.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Yeah. And it wobbles. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's not how we know. That's interesting.
Starting point is 01:27:52 I know that that would be jam. I thought just, I don't know if I think we call it. So I think it's gelatin, but because of like the branding, right? It was just called jello. I think regardless of like where it came from. If it's like of that consistent.
Starting point is 01:28:06 So it's like, you know, I made a jello, a jello of whatever, you know, with hot dogs in it or something. Yeah. Which I don't do. I just saw a video the other day about someone putting hot dogs in jello at like a potluck or something. I think they were trying to do violence or something. I'm not sure. That's disgusting. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:29 All right. So community questions time. Let's see here. So I got one here. Quick question. This is a good question, actually. I'm housebound, so use gaming as a release. I need to upgrade my PC struggles with the newer game.
Starting point is 01:28:41 My PC can be on for 10 hours a day. Would you say that water cooled graphics card is a must or a bonus? Ivan, what would you say? Water cooled graphics cards, must or bonus? I have a water cooled graphics card at home, actually. Not that it needs it. I just think it looks cool with the Cracking G12. I don't think it's a must, but it does make your card cooler.
Starting point is 01:29:06 for sure. Yeah, I would agree. I would say it's definitely not a must. It's like a very, very bonus extra, probably over the top thing for a video card to have water cooling in it. I think most video cards provide sufficient cooling for themselves
Starting point is 01:29:22 for the most part. My setup at home is kind of backwards because I have an air cooler on my CPU and a water cooler on my GPU. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I would say like if you want,
Starting point is 01:29:36 like superior cooling and for it to be way quieter than definitely get a water cooled uh GPU or you know do like your own custom loop or like some of the chat said right use a use a crack in G12 to use a non-current gen video card uh with a crack and cooler um yeah but I would say like if you're if your if your GPU is struggling that doesn't really say anything right isn't like if it's overheating that's one thing or if it's just like not getting the frames you want to that's another thing entirely, right? Cooling isn't going to really help with your FPS, unless it's like getting so hot that it throttles,
Starting point is 01:30:13 but if that's what's happening, then you have other issues and just cooling with your video card specifically. That would be a whole airflow issue with your case. So there we go. I do no stuff. I know things. Sneaky Ninja.
Starting point is 01:30:28 Are you guys going to have Black Friday sales? Evan, what do you say? Well, we've had a Black Friday sale every year for the last I don't know, however. Three or four years. So if I was a betting man, I would say probably.
Starting point is 01:30:45 All right, cool. FYT, YLM, I don't know, at NZXC, just want to say your customer care people are awesome. I agree, they are awesome. They're all great. That's brilliant. Everyone's awesome.
Starting point is 01:30:59 Trishna, one question. This is from NZXT underscore ES. One question, why are you so great? We love you, heart. Oh, thank you. I love you too. Someone else asking, does the Craggan G12 work with new GPUs? They do not.
Starting point is 01:31:15 The G12 does not work with current gen. RTX 30 series and whatever the number is for the AMD cards. I don't know. They have a funky naming scheme that I can never remember. It works with some 30 series, I believe. No. Let me look it up right now. I've asked before. It doesn't work with any 30 series cards. It has to do with like the bracket or something.
Starting point is 01:31:40 Like it doesn't affect it. It's pecking G12? Yeah, the G12. Or to be updated to like make it work. I'm when I last, I'm 99, 99% positive. It works with some 30 series cards. It. Yeah, it says a hold down here. I also didn't. Did we change that? GPU compatibility. Oh, no. It's not. I was looking. I'm looking at the specs right now. So I'll just copy paste it.
Starting point is 01:32:10 I just have it out here on here on the stream as well. So like 2080. So it works with some like 2080 cards if you use a different bracket with it. But yeah, we have not updated that to use the new new cards yet. Trust me, we've been asking about it and no word yet. So hopefully hopefully one day soon we'll have a G13 or G3 G420 or something like that. That'd be sick.
Starting point is 01:32:39 We still have time for questions, folks. You want to ask questions to ask us questions or ask Trishina questions. While we're getting more of those in, I'm going to go ahead and just move over a little bit. And you have some announcements here real quick because of a few reminders while we're waiting for peeps ask questions. Number one, Evan, do you actually want to announce this one? Because I feel like, I think this is important for you. Are we going through the announcements now? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:07 Sure. So the first big announcement is, I guess also a thank you to everyone who follows us on Twitter because we just surpassed 1 million followers. It's pretty cool because I remember when the first big milestone that I remember on Twitter was when we got 44,000. followers and because I remember thinking it was cool like oh that it's like the H440 you know I gave away an age 440 but we got 44,000 like I never thought we would get 440,000 so I was like might as well do it now and that was like a long time ago yeah thank you to everyone who followed
Starting point is 01:33:52 us on Twitter and for for all the memes I guess yeah we're grateful for all the memes and I guess the other announcement too is Twitter is probably one of our oldest social media platforms and we have a new social media platform. We do. TikTok. Yeah, so TikTok.com slash at
Starting point is 01:34:14 NZXT. It's been really interesting seeing like the reaction from people on there and also seeing like what types of videos are popping and what's not, like what people like. Yesterday we had
Starting point is 01:34:30 our forever intern Mike go on there and just post a bunch of like random things and out of all the things he posted like his comment about Reese's pieces I took off so it's been fun so follow us on TikTok if you guys are already yeah uh we did a
Starting point is 01:34:47 we did a video which I thought was really cool where you went into um the BLD warehouse here at uh sorry the build warehouse here at at NSX HQ and it's gonna like showed people what a computer build looks like from like start to finish right um and you know so that's from like picking the parts to the building to the QC to shipping stuff like that um in that video got 47000 views and what like about a week right about a week or so like now yeah so Mike did this video
Starting point is 01:35:18 where he's literally just off his computer screen right office computer speakers telling people how to pronounce Reese's peanut butter cups and that one in a day got 53,000 views, which to me is like it just makes zero sense when you think about the time and effort that we put into that other video you physically had to go to the warehouse take a video of it right record everything reshoot some stuff edit it re-edit it do narration add subtitles you know for accessibility purposes and then you know we got a cover going and make sure the captioner's right and all that stuff and then we're like all right cool this is going it be a banger.
Starting point is 01:35:58 And it does really well, right? We're happy with it. And then we're just like, hey, Mike, do some stuff on the TikTok because we're really busy. So just, you know, have some fun. And then the recess one is the one that gets the $50,000. Yeah, really weird. Yeah, it's really funny.
Starting point is 01:36:12 Yeah, social media is crazy, honestly. Things that go viral. Work and social, they said. Yeah, in social. I don't envy you guys, honestly. Next announcement I got for you guys is. we released a new product this week and it is a craft product so it's limited edition you guys have to get it now before it's gone forever and that's the
Starting point is 01:36:36 craft Mass Effect Puck just dropped a link in the chat but you can check that out at nzc.com if you really like Mass Effect or if you really like pucks the other big announcement is as of 37 minutes ago at 11 a.m. We announced a global giveaway for a custom-wrapped Skyrim PC worth 3,000 US dollars. I don't know how much that translates it to crumpets, but go to nzxte.co slash skyrim PC. It's actually really cool. It's designed by the Pope.
Starting point is 01:37:16 Yeah, I've not seen this before. It looks amazing. Wait, the Holy See, the Pope? The Pope. Formerly of Xbox, current and now at NST. And if you like giveaways, then you'll love this one, because we're also giving away two computers with J's 2 cents. So I just dropped the link to where you guys can answer that. You can just go to his Twitter at J's 2 cents and find out how to win that.
Starting point is 01:37:46 And then the other big announcement I want to give to you guys is that we are hiring like... Actually, I shouldn't find a British word for this. Um, da, da, da, da, da, da, da. We are, let's see. We are chuffed that we are hiring the whole thing. Uh, some dogs, bullocks, nutters. Yeah, we're hiring like crazy. Ndxty.com slash careers.
Starting point is 01:38:27 Um, hey, look at me, Dennis and Mike right there on the front. page. What do you know? We're the poster boys of working here, Dennis. Yeah, I know. So if you guys want to work with Dennis and I and Trishna and maybe you'll end up in a picture like that on the hiring page. And speaking of Trishna, the last announcement is you guys should go follow Trishina on Twitter at Trishna Cole. Don't follow her on Instagram or Facebook because she doesn't want you guys to see her private life. But her Twitter is public. You guys can follow her on there and chat with her. I mean, I don't use it that often in terms of posting,
Starting point is 01:39:05 so it's going to be pretty boring, but I mean, go for it. Yeah, yeah. And that was my final announcement, Dennis. Back to you. Yay. I think that's the thing except for questions, I think anybody has. Actually, so I have heard a couple questions here, Ivan. I don't know if we're allowed to say this, but people want to know what the secret word is.
Starting point is 01:39:25 Oh, the secret word is available to members. of the NZXD Club. And for those that don't know, the NZXD Club is a rewards program hosted insider Discord server. And the way you join this club is just by interacting on the server, chatting with people having fun.
Starting point is 01:39:46 You slowly, or not slowly, but you rank up in the server and you get access to certain channels. And one of those channels will give you the password. So join the NZXT Club and you'll find out what the secret word is.
Starting point is 01:40:00 Yes, sir. Yes, sir. We get another question here for Trishna. If you could design one NXT merch item, what would it be? It would be a beanbag. A beanbag? Yeah, I would like to have an NZXT beanbag, and I would put pookies all over the as the design.
Starting point is 01:40:24 You say pookies? You see pookie? Pookie? Yeah, this is one of the things. Do you call him pookies? Pookie? Pucci? I've never heard anyone call him Pookie. I've never heard Pookie either.
Starting point is 01:40:35 But I like it. What is it? What is it? It's Pucci. Pucci. It's Pucci like Gucci. What did I say? Pucci. It's a Pookie.
Starting point is 01:40:44 Pucci. Yeah. There's that pronunciation that's been a bit of a challenge for me as well, learning. But yeah, I would love to design merch. That's something that I did in my old role. But it would definitely be a beanbag, 100%. Okay. Okay. If you could have NST work on one product, not merch-wise, like one thing for us to make that we don't currently make right now.
Starting point is 01:41:12 And you want us to do our N-Z-T magic on it, what would it be? I can't really say anything because I feel like that's spoilers. Okay. They choose something else then. What's another thing that we're making that you would like us to make? It doesn't even have to be gaming stuff. It can be anything. You know what?
Starting point is 01:41:35 I would like some NZT as in actual tea. I have some right here. Yeah, let me show you. Yeah, he has some right there. We made some for the pop-up we had, I was it last year of 2019. No, not in a bottle like that. Not iced tea. We need leaves that you can brew.
Starting point is 01:41:56 This thing is probably like rotten by now. What? What's a purple leaf we could put in that stuff? Are there in leaves that are purple that we can turn into? It's lavender right? It probably like a lavender tea. Oh, yeah, lavender tea. That'll work.
Starting point is 01:42:12 There's other purple stuff too, but it can't. Something to have in the evening after you've done a long gaming session and you've been stressed out, being tense. So you just sit down, have you lavender tea. Make some of NZX, NZX, T, CBD. Ooh, there we go. NZT, CBD, T. Can you imagine if you actually put something out like that?
Starting point is 01:42:32 And it's like a huge success. And we just kind of transition to like a CBD company, like a supplement company. MCXT, CBDT. I'm not sure that really happens so much anymore. But I know like in like the past past, right? Like early 20th century, a lot of companies that made one thing transition to making other things. Like how Nintendo used to make playing cards and stuff right now? They're like a video game manufacturer and publisher and developer and whatever.
Starting point is 01:42:58 But like I wonder if there are any kind of. companies now or in like recent history who have pivoted so wildly to like a completely different like market or product or something. Can't be able to think of anything. I did actually read a long, long time ago about a company that did that. But I can't for life of me recall it. It's like there somewhere in the back of my head of a company that did a massive pivot. I think it was in the drinks industry and can't think of anything. Red Bull.
Starting point is 01:43:30 Can't remember it. Or something, I don't know. Yes, that was it. Oh, was it? That was it? It was Red Bull. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:39 What did they make before? Before they did energy drinks? I can't remember what they made before. But it was the guy had essentially had a massive line. They were already established within their product category. And then he made Red Bull and they basically it took off and they found that it was a lot more lucrative. So they just completely loved it. dumped that and now they're Red Bull.
Starting point is 01:44:02 Yeah. Maybe that's for next podcast. You can tell everyone about it. See, I'm looking at the history. In 18, 1976, the interest drink called the Cradding Ding. It's in Thailand,
Starting point is 01:44:18 which means red Gower in English. It's popular among Thai truck drivers and laborers. And this is what was this? This is a sweetened, non-carbonated energy drink. a large took the name from the gar
Starting point is 01:44:34 a large wild bovine in Southeast Asia so I guess they always were kind of like a Red Bull but I think they did something different or they expanded
Starting point is 01:44:42 is that what it is? Variations as interesting actually I think a lot of these companies are like a really big now
Starting point is 01:44:49 come from different places and it's apparently apparently the country of origin is Austria which is cool so by the way
Starting point is 01:44:58 we do ship to Austria if someone was a bi-computer online. Yeah, we do. Yeah, but for some reason, like, I've always seen Red Bull is like an American thing. I don't know. I guess I just assume, like, bulls and energy drinks and, like, doing cool, extreme stuff, like jumping out of airplanes or whatever is, like, it's a thing that dumb Americans do because we just don't care.
Starting point is 01:45:21 I guess not. I guess everyone's dumb in the world everywhere. Ivan, Red Bull or Monster? Red Bull all the way? Yeah. Trishna, what about you, Red Bull or Monster? Do you drink any drinks? 100% Red Bull.
Starting point is 01:45:35 I've even worked with them a couple of times for a long-term campaign for my last role. And we had like a gaming facility in London. So it was like the Red Bull Gaming Spphere where people could go down and play on the PCs and play games. And we had tournaments for like Smash Bros and things like that. It reminds me we're providing Red Bull with computers for this weekend's Kumete in Las Vegas. That's very true. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 01:46:00 Does that mean that you guys are going to get free Red Bull at the office? We used to, actually. Yeah, we have a Red Bull fridge here, and they used to send us Red Bulls, but... We still can. We used to ask for them. Like, literally, like Wes, who is our... Was it a developer business... I forget what this is...
Starting point is 01:46:19 We talked to it like two weeks ago. He does stuff with developers and partnering stuff. Like, for example, the Skyrim thing. He set that up. But he told me that after we sponsored Ninja, who is sponsored by Red Bull, literally people from Red Bull were like, hey, like, if you want Red Bull, just, like, shoot me an email, like, literally just bug the heck out of me. Like, I don't care.
Starting point is 01:46:40 You can literally text me, like, we're the F of my Red Bull, and I'll send you, like, a pack or whatever. So, like, that's the thing I like about Red Bulls, they don't care. They'll literally just send you stuff if you want it, if you were to work with them and whatnot because I think they'd rather just have that present than it not be a thing. What you think is like really, really smart because I know a lot of peeps are very stingy with their marketing stuff. And if you're like sometimes you just have to give stuff for free, just so you're like
Starting point is 01:47:08 around, right? And that people see you. So by the way, folks, that's how it works. Oh, here's actually one question I wanted to ask Trishina. And it probably be the last question. Do you have any advice for people who are wanting to become influencers who want to get into that that world of getting paid to promote stuff basically or to be you know like a influential streamer content creator or whatever what would you give advice to them or what's your advice
Starting point is 01:47:36 I mean from a from a brand's point of view my advice would be what what I look for at least is somebody who's very genuine who doesn't you know tend to do the normal social media thing which is kind of like using filters and just being very natural on camera, having a good community where, you know, everybody is kind of talking to each other. They have a good relationship with them. And somebody who is also obviously interested in certain products. I mean, if you're trying to grow, my advice would be,
Starting point is 01:48:13 if there's any products or brands that you use in your day-to-day, you could just mention them, you know, just say, for example, you know, Red Bull, for example, just say that you're going to have a red bull. And then the thing is, is that because you're naturally talking about a product that you're using, it comes across as very genuine. I think that's one of the biggest things, at least for me, is I don't want to work with somebody who is just going to, you know, heartlessly shill out for a brand and a company and not actually care about the values or the product or even be interested in it. you know, I look for somebody who is aware of nzadXT, knows their products and is keen to to be part of the nzutxte family basically because that's what it essentially becomes is that we support them to grow and they support us as well. So I would say just try and be as genuine
Starting point is 01:49:06 as you can and don't get stuck in your head too much about, oh, how is this going to look? You know, if I take a picture from this angle or if I say this thing, just try and be yourself. I think that's the most thing that people connect with is somebody who they can just see is just unashamedly themselves. But also I also kind of don't use social media that much. I mean, might not be the best person to get advice from.
Starting point is 01:49:34 No, yeah, I think that's really good advice. And I think another good part too is like to be professional when it comes to reaching out the companies, right? Like myself, you know, we'll get DMs from people on Twitter. And this is me being 100% honest, right? And if you don't like it, then too bad, you're probably one of these people. If you're like are even like verified or you have like a bunch of followers or whatever
Starting point is 01:49:56 and you just literally message, hey, what, you know, what can I do to get a free PC? Like literally like if that's the first thing you're leading with, I'm not even going to forward your stuff. Do you 100% honest with you? Because to me, it's not telling me that you care about the brand or that you care about what we're doing. You know, I look to see if you even like or follow our stuff or anything like that. None of that happens, I don't even forward it.
Starting point is 01:50:15 To be honest, I don't bother. Unless it's like, I don't know. if like, I don't know, I think it's someone who's like super, super big, but there's like 1% of 1% of 1% is like at that level we're like, I'll just forward no matter what. But like, if I can already tell that like you just don't care, like I'm not going to bother. You have to treat the people in every position, whether they're the social media monkeys or, you know, the influencer managers or the marketing team or whatever with like a certain level of like, you know, hey, I'm here for business to do business things. Right. I think you guys are great. Like, you know, that stuff matters, I think. And like you're saying, right, like you have to be authentic, right? And, you know, if you just come in and ask for free stuff, then, you know, we can give free stuff all on our own, right? Like, that's, that's easy, you know. We do it all the time. So, yeah. Yeah, I think that's, that's really, really good advice. So just to, yeah, don't just ask, ask for it. Yeah. And you've got to put in the work, basically.
Starting point is 01:51:15 Yeah. And that work goes into also. how you message that stuff right like if someone is like hey i got this and these are my numbers i'm like cool this person obviously is you know very smart in this realm you know and why not you know i'll throw your information out and if it does if we do something with you then cool uh if not then you know it's how it works uh yeah um i think though it is kind of weird too because there really isn't like a playbook for being like an influencer or for being a streamer and wanting to make a crew out of it and um There's a lot of advice out there, and a lot of it is very, very bad. And it's like it's also, you know, you also can't follow the template of like a Dr.
Starting point is 01:51:58 Lepo or a Pockeman or to the Tatman or these huge, these huge streamers because they've been around forever, right? So it's like, you know, they don't know what it's like to start in 2021, right? 1111. then, you know, it's, it's, it's, they're, they're so past that that whatever they have to say, in my opinion, isn't as relevant anymore, you know. Yeah, yeah, there's so much competition out there. There's so much noise. It can be, it can be really difficult. Whereas when these guys started, there wasn't, there wasn't a lot, you know, there was just in TV. You started streaming. And then you slowly moved on to Twitch. People who streamed around then, they blew up because there was nothing else like that. Yeah. Yeah All right
Starting point is 01:52:43 Trishna Do you have any questions For me and Ivan Before we go ahead and close this off Anything you've always wanted to ask us Anything I've always wanted to ask you Yeah anything There isn't anything I don't think
Starting point is 01:52:59 What are you guys going to do for the rest of your day That's going to be my question I after this I'm going to go Walk across the railroad tracks To domestic get myself some lunch and then wait for my wife to pick me up because she is borrowing her sister's car since someone stole our catalytic converter and then tune into the nz-a-txte town
Starting point is 01:53:27 hall later later today oh okay yeah I'm not attending that it's two in the morning for me wow how rude you're not going to wake up listen to johnny speak maybe maybe I can have it as like sleep music instead of putting classical on or something or reading a book i'll just have town hall on if i can't state yeah um have a soothing voice of johnny yeah i am going to end this thing and i'm going to turn my brain off for like an hour and a half because after doing this podcast i'm always like super super super i mean you can ask i'm like super dead right like having to be even remotely entertaining for like 20 minutes is like stressful enough having to do it for an hour and a half or however long is just like you use up so much of yourself like mentally
Starting point is 01:54:14 and i think people don't notice don't realize that right when like you're streaming and stuff or you do you do anything we have to kind of be on uh it's really easy to just like get burnt out um and our brains are are small to begin with yeah exactly yeah yeah there isn't much there you know those two brain cells just you know just our brain just gets smoother every time we report an episode one wrinkle at a time smoothing it out of um um Yeah, that's why if you ever noticed me like slurring at the end of the podcast, that's what that is. Like my tongue is just like, no more. I'm done.
Starting point is 01:54:47 Yeah, but then after that, I'm driving my partner to Irvine for a lunch with their brand new coworkers. So that's going to be cool. And I'm not going to attend. I'm going to drive back home and then plug it to the Metaverse for a minute and then do the thing. I'm telling you, folks, I was not a believer. I thought VR was stupid. Setting it up was the pain of the ass. this thing it just changed my mind 100% changed my mind it's really really cool I love it a lot
Starting point is 01:55:14 brain dead edge exactly yeah brain deadage uh all right I think that's it thank you for having me on guys I've enjoyed it thank you cheeky bugger yeah thank you for being on Trisha really really appreciate it and by the way in case you're wondering you did great right everyone listening and chat yes round of applause right thank you to everybody who tuned in. That email again is P-O-D-C-A-S-T podcast at n-Z-T-com. And don't forget to listen to previous episodes on Apple Podcasts, for podcast, Spotify, and SoundCloud. And if you could,

Stay tuned if you're live so we can throw a host to someone cool and show them a lot of love. Tell those purple chats out. Thanks again, everyone for the one million subscribers on Twitter.
Starting point is 01:56:23 Let's do it everywhere. Maybe not Facebook. Let's do on Instagram. Let's do it on TikTok for sure. We're almost at 100K on TikTok. So share that with your friends as well. Almost at a million on Instagram, too. Let's see we can catch up to Twitter.
