and welcome to episode 140 of the N60 podcast,
the official podcast of the N60 community.
This podcast recorded live every Thursday at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time
on the official N60 Twitch and is available to stream on demand on Apple Podcasts,
Google Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
My name is Mike and with me as always is Ivan.
Ivan, how are you doing?
How it goes.
I'm doing good.
I'm very excited to have another special edition product podcast with a very special guest.
And for those of you who are tuning in live today, we also have a very special surprise giveaway announcement if you stick around till the very end.
So please do that if you're tuning in live.
You don't want to miss it.
Trust me when I say it's going to be awesome.
So without further ado, let me introduce our special guest of honor.
Our regular listeners probably think he is a co-host at this point, but it's the world famous Andy Johnson.
How are you, Andy?
I'm good.
I'm happy to be here.
He sounds like three times.
He sounds ecstatic.
I woke up very late.
Yeah, you were late to our first meeting today.
Yeah.
And I didn't realize it until someone slacked me.
It's like, oh, shoot.
We're here.
We're here, yes.
For those of the, for those of you who don't know who Andy is, Andy,
can you quickly introduce yourself and let
everyone know who you are and what it is you do at NCXT.
My name is Andy and I'm the global PR manager at this fine company.
And I, you know, deal with all the fun and hubbub of announcing products and launching new products
and spreading the word about NST to everyone across.
this great, is it green earth?
Let's say green earth.
I hope it's green.
I am.
I'm kind of brown at this point.
But yeah, so you hit the nail around in the head product, and we are here today to talk
about some new products that NZXT just announced a couple days ago.
The first being our brand new H5 series, that includes two cases, the H5 Flow and H5 Elite.
and then our brand new air coolers, the T-120 and the T-120 RGB.
So, Andy, tell us what are these new cases and coolers?
So the H-5 series is the successor to the, I said the goat on Twitter.
I saw that.
I saw that.
Yeah.
To the goat NZXT case, the H-FSI.
case, the H510 slash H500.
It is the next iteration of, you know, our compact mid-tower case.
There's two variants, the H-5 flow and the H-5 Elite, and the H-5 flow indicates that it's
an, you know, an airflow-focused case.
And the H-5 Elite has a front tempered glass panel and included RGB fans for the people who
just love aesthetics and want to have like a beautiful very striking build for everyone to witness.
Right now, showing the pictures of the actual H5 flow and H5 Elite as well.
You kind of already went through some of the flow specs and some of the lead specs.
Is there anything significant difference that we kind of put into these cases recently?
I would say the biggest, I think it's three.
I'm going to try to hit it in three because three is a good number.
The biggest thing that we did is one of the largest complaints of the H510
was it only had one exhaust pan or exhaust fan on top of the case.
So with this one, we opened up the top on both across all series.
These are features across all series, by the way.
We opened up the top to allow for two 120 millimeter fans, which also allows for 240 millimeter radiators to be mounted on top.
And that was another feature that people really wanted was top radiator mounting support.
Then the second big feature is on both cases as well.
We added a third fan on the bottom to help with GPU temps.
Linus did a video while back showing like how airflow works on the flow case and essentially
air wasn't getting there as much. So with this one, it helps, it helps shoot air in there.
So it can help cool your wonderful new GPU.
And also on the cable management side, we just improved the channels to make them wider and
a little bit more cleaner.
But yeah, those are the big things I would say about the H510 series, or sorry, H5 series writ large.
And you mentioned that the biggest complaint was that top exhaust fan.
And to me, that's the cool thing about this new H5 series is, you know, not a day goes by on social media where I don't hear or see people complain about a couple of things on H510.
top exhaust being one,
lack of airflow overall being the other.
So I really do think that this H5 series,
whether you go with the floor or the elite,
does address pretty much all the complaints
that I've been seeing about the H510.
And what's interesting to me is even right now
in this podcast, as we're going over the specs on the H5,
people are saying,
we want a bigger case with 360 support on top.
And my response is the same.
It's like we already have that.
It's called the H7.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's, I feel like no matter what we do, people are always going to want more, which is fine.
It's cool.
You know, you guys can always pass along your feedback.
We'll also share with the product team.
But yeah, so this is definitely not, and I'm take this with a grain of salt because
it's, you know, this is going to be subjective.
I wouldn't say this is our best case.
I still think our best case is the H7 because you can fit more hardware.
It does have better airflow, it does have more room for expansion and upgrades and all that stuff.
However, the H5 series is our most compact mid-tower case.
So if you want to get like the most big, I guess, hardware into the smallest possible footprint,
it's going to be the H5.
It's not going to be the H7.
Yeah, I mean, yeah.
You can get by with high-end builds in the age five.
It's just your temps will might be a little warmer.
But if you have a more modest build, the more mid-range build,
you're going to be perfectly satisfied.
I mean, your experience in this case won't.
You know, you're going to have good temps.
It's not going to hinder you.
It's going to look nice in your room.
It's a case for most people, I would say.
Agreed.
The other most common question we've got about the H5 series since launching it, apart from, you know, telling us that they want, I think they want a H7 basically from it, is will a 4090 fit inside the H5?
So yesterday we actually posted a few pictures from our warehouse of 4090s inside of the H5.
and to answer that question is yes
a 4090 GPU will fit inside the H5
up to a certain point
it has to be less than 365 millimeters
and not every single
4090 is going to fit inside the H5
because there's some 4090s
that are literally the size of a PlayStation 5
at this point so
yeah it's a chunky
chunky GPs these things are bricks y'all
I mean, look at the size of the GPU here
And then look at the size of the fan, the radier, and the top of the case
I'm 90% sure that the GPU itself is still thicker than all three of these combined
Yeah, are there any two slot 4090s? There isn't right they're all three I don't know I'm pretty sure all them are I'm pretty sure all them are three slot
I'm like a 90% sure they are I'm yeah wouldn't
be surprised if there are some outlier out there because some AIBs make some funky size cards
from time to time.
But I assume if you have a 4090, it's going to be at least two and a half to three slots on your PCIE expansion.
Screaming Elephant asked a good question.
We should probably answer this now because we're talking about the card.
But he's asking, what is NGXC stance in position on the connector burn?
that's going around. I realize it's a very small number of cases and is not widespread,
but curious what your stance is, should I build PC with one fails? So for those that don't know,
there's been, as far as I know, two reported cases of GPs catching on fire because of the way the
connector is installed on the card and it's catching on fire because the panel is putting pressure
on the cable and it's bending it in a way that's causing it to overheat and burn.
burn. So our sense on that is obviously we don't want anything of ours to burn. We don't want
anyone to buy a computer and then have a catch fire. And I do know that our bill team is
taking measures to make sure that, you know, whenever we build a computer with one of these big
cars and cables that the panel is not putting pressure on there. I also know that there are some
cables being made now
that are 90 degree angles
that I've seen
some people, I think it was, wasn't
it, um,
J's 2 cents? I forgot who made a video
talking about. He made a video, but I haven't watched
yet. But these new 90 degree cables or something.
So I'm sure
you know, once those cables are readily
available or if
Nvidia determines that, you know, you have to do a recall
or something like that, we're just going to
follow protocol, really.
we can't really control what
what Nvidia does. But I also do know that
Nvidia is conducting an internal investigation
on this thing too. So hopefully we find out that
you know, it's not a widespread problem, that it is isolated,
that it's not going to be a major concern.
Right now I guess everyone's just waiting to find out what that
what's going to happen, right?
Yeah, build that your own.
risk. If you don't feel comfortable
buying a 40-90
because of this issue, you don't
have to and you can wait and see
if it is the way of the car's still awesome.
They're still really good too.
So don't feel like you have to buy
the $4,000 series.
Yeah. I mean, you'll be
You have to buy it. You have to.
Yeah. The newest of the new, you have to go for it.
You have to wait in line at Microsenter
at 5 in the morning to be the first
one to get it. Your
internet won't work unless you have a
40-90.
you can't do spreadsheets
without a 4090 you need a ray trace
Excel sheet
Luke mayola
ask a question here
which I know we normally save these questions for the end
but I think we should answer it now since we're talking about
graphics cards
would you guys personally recommend 4090s
or are you sticking with the 30 series so let's just go around the room
real quick I'll start since I just answered this question
on Twitter yesterday.
Someone asked this very same question.
And my honest response to them was
the 4090 is
the latest and greatest and best
graphics card is going to get you the best
performance. However,
the 30 series still holds up.
You're still going to be able to play any
game you want. It's going to be cheaper.
And
you know, if
not having the latest and greatest
thing that is not that important to you,
then yeah, even a 20 series card.
are just going to still hold up right now.
So you don't need to get the 40-90 if, you know,
you want to save some money, basically.
What do you guys?
I think my stance is if you can afford it and you want it,
go get it.
But if you can't afford it, there's really no need.
You'll be fine with any of the 30 series cards.
Depends on what your needs are.
if you want to game 4K with high refresh rates, yeah, I get a 4090, but you're going to pay for it because you need also a 4K panel to even support that.
And those are not super common yet or super affordable yet.
But I have a 3080 and it's fine, no complaints at all.
It's still pretty dang good.
I mean, of course I would love a 4090, but I think just get what you need and you'll be fine no matter what you choose.
Yep, I agree with that.
Yep, I agree with that.
Basically echoing what they say, I have a 2070 in my PC right now.
I 79700K and a 2070.
I run games at 1080P, even sometimes 1440P, no problem.
And it's, you know, this is three years.
I've had this for about three years now, and it still runs perfectly fine.
So really, you can go for a $2,000 card if you need to save money.
But like Andy said, if you have the extra money, go for it.
But it is not a necessity.
However, if you have the money and you literally be like, it makes no difference if I get $3,000 or $3,000 or $4,000.
Go for $4,000.
Why not?
Oh, hey, Mr. Matt Lee.
How are you doing?
We got to get him on the podcast soon.
Yes, we do.
I have an Intel Arc A770, 490 and a 3090 right next to my phone builds.
Exactly.
Friends still rocks a 1080.
Yeah, same.
I have friends that still rock 1080s right now, 1060s still runs fine.
1060, I think, I don't, is the most popular card on Steam.
It was at one point.
I don't see why it wouldn't have changed.
Yeah, the 1060 is the beast that it's holding in there.
still. It also depends on what games you're playing.
My PC at home is still rocking at 970, and I don't have any problems with it because the games I play are not very demanding.
You're not playing in big open world games like Witcher or anything like that.
You'll be fine.
You want to play like, I think the 4090 and cyberpunk gets like over 144 frames, 4K high settings with all the bells and whistles.
It's like if that's the game you want to play at that resolution,
at that frame rate and that quality, yeah, then get a 40-90.
But if you don't care about playing cyberpunk at that level of, you know, fidelity,
then you'll be fine with 30-80.
I played cyberpunk with the 30-80 and no complaints,
other than the game was a little interesting in terms of how it ran.
But, I mean, when it ran fine, it was fine.
It ran fine on stadia for me, Andy.
Rip Stadia.
You got like three months, you know.
You liked the Stadia, right?
Yeah.
Kind of for the reason that I explained,
or the thing I mentioned earlier just a minute ago about,
you know, at home, I have a 970 GPU, right?
So there's some games that I do dabble in occasionally
that are more demanding, namely Red Data Redoubt Redemption 2.
And that game is not very, doesn't run very well in a 970.
So that game, I actually played a lot on Google Stadia because you just need a fast and good,
reliable internet connection.
And for me, it ran fine, you know, never had an issue.
But I'm one of the few people that probably will miss Stadia.
I know I get a lot of flak for it, but I thought it was a very good service.
I've been as a I have Xbox an Xbox series X and I'm a game pass subscriber and it has X cloud
and X cloud is very good like I wouldn't play Halo on it but but a game that doesn't require like
fast inputs and is a little slower um like an RPG or something like a turnbase RPG or
like an adventure game where you're not
you know like speeding up people left and right
like it's totally adequate
and once you kind of get used to the latency
issues
it you know
no complaints
like I played a good chunk of the first
psychonauts on X cloud and
you know
no complaints whatsoever
I guess we'll go on to the
rest of the questions and we'll go into the
community question.
We actually got a few questions for a community.
What's the difference between the H5 and H7?
The H5 is smaller.
The H7 is larger.
The H7 has way more fan support.
You could put 340 millimeter fans in the front
and 3 120 fans on the top.
It's just size in radiator support for the most part.
And other than the obvious
aesthetic differences, but they're very similar.
For those that are looking for 360 millimeter on top,
the 8-7 is what you're looking for.
Yeah, if you want a 360-millimeter regardless,
like... Yeah, 8-7.
Also, anyone that would want a 280 on top
because the H-5 only supports 240, not 280.
That's true, yeah.
Also, I think for people that want a really big graphics card,
You know, I would, even if a 4090 does fit in a H5, you know, it might be cutting it close sometimes,
and you might not be able to do something like an install front radiator.
You know, the H7 might be the case that you opt for because you'll be able to have a front radiator
and have the big GPU in there as well.
Yeah, I would, and also if you would want to vertical mount,
vertical mount is supported on the H5
Flowin Elite
Since it's up close
It's like we want to give you the option to
If you so choose to do it
But you have to keep in mind on the H5
Since your fans are going to be close to the glass
It will heat up your GPU
But on the H7
Since the
The mount is further back
it's not on the glass, so it doesn't really affect temperatures.
Like the highest temperatures I get on mine when playing a game,
because I vertical mount my GPU, which is a 3080 in my H7 flow,
I rarely go above 75 degrees Celsius.
That's pretty good.
Yeah.
You can't have already gave some of these tips,
but Andy, do you have any specific tips for people who are,
thinking about purchasing an H5, what they should be looking for?
I would say you just be aware on the H5 flow.
You need to buy more fans to fill out the case.
It only comes with two stock fans.
Ideally, just put two front fans in the front.
If you front fans in the front, two fans in the front,
and that will be fine for most people.
obviously put two in the top
to get more exhaust
going but
I think that would be my biggest tip
for the H5
flow
but like I said
if you have a very
if you're going for a mid-rangee type of
build and don't
have a 40-90 that's the size of
a mini cooper
I would
I would say
the H5
just in general would be the best for you.
I like those tips.
Some good tips there from Andy.
So on social media, Andy,
the overall response from our community was,
I would say, 99.9% positive,
a lot of excitement from people
because for a long time,
NCXT wasn't really known for having
the best airflow in our cases.
And that's kind of gone,
out the window now. You know, I think we've proven that we can make cases that not only have
airflow, but also look nice. They're aesthetically pleasing. So I'm curious, how was the
overall sentiment on the H5 from the press? I think it was very, very positive.
Everyone, you know, thinks they look great. They love the new features that we added. I think
just keep in, like we mentioned before,
keep in mind if you are buying an H5 flow,
just look into getting a couple more fans.
But if you're front mounting a radiator,
you don't have to worry about it
because those fans will come included as well.
So just keep that in mind.
I think, again, like I said,
buy some front fans and you'd be good.
And you're going to enjoy this case.
I've built in an H5 Elite,
and I did see the improvement over the previous one
because I build in H-500s and H-5-10s many times
and the changes that we made, especially in the cable management
because on some of the sides it's hard to get very flat cables in,
but even the flattest and whitest of cable could fit in those cable management channels.
Perfect. All right.
So we talked a little bit about the cases.
We also released some air coolers, correct?
You kind of want to go over about the air coolers real quick?
I'll go and show them on the, to the stream right now.
Yeah.
This isn't our first air cooler, correct?
Yeah, our first one was the NZXT HV-HV-K, Mike, if you want to look it up.
N-Z-X-T-H-X-T-H-E-T-H-X-T-H-T-X-T-I-G-I-G-I-T-W-T-T-T-W-2012.
Oh, yeah, 10 years ago, yeah.
Yeah.
So it's our return to the air cooler market.
This one is a very modest air cooler as well.
It's the T-120.
You know, we have high-quality heat pipes.
I think they're made of bronze, but don't quote me on that.
Copper, you know.
Copper. Copper. Copper. Copper and bronze in my mind are the same thing.
But they're not.
It's just a decent CPU cooler.
It looks very good, and it comes with an RGB fan,
or if you don't want one,
you can just get a basic non-RGB fan.
They're both high static pressure fans,
and, yeah, it's just an air cooler for mid to, like,
I-5, Risen 5, I-7, Risen 7.
I've, um,
Risen 7 type CPUs.
And how many fans are included with the Q120?
Just one.
Just one.
One 120 fan.
And you can install up to two, correct?
Yeah.
Actually, Mr. Matt Lee in his video installed two in.
Yeah.
Yeah.
For those I haven't watched it,
please go to Mr. Matt Lee on social media and YouTube and check out his
awesome video.
He built in the new H5 and also with the T120.
and he used all MacTua fans, which is really cool to see.
Yeah.
And Andy, for those that don't know,
what is the difference between static pressure and airflow fans?
Static pressures are designed for radiators,
and airflow fans just move air a lot quicker.
I think it's just the basic gist of it, if I'm not mistaken.
That's basically it.
Static pressure is more focused.
Yeah, it's meant.
for radiators.
They're meant for radiators.
And I know we've made crackens
for a really long time.
They're liquid coolers.
So, you know, in your opinion,
what's better?
Air cooling or liquid cooling?
I in 99%
actually every,
99% of the builds I have made
have liquid cooling.
To me, I like the look
of liquid cooling better.
And I,
I, you know, I think you can
push a little more performance out of it.
However,
oh, sorry, go ahead.
No, but I've
warmed up to air cooling or cooled up
to air cooling.
When I installed an air cooler
in a build I was doing for my mom's friend,
it was like the easiest thing ever.
And they require,
less maintenance and if you're like the heat pipes don't really wear out you just put a new fan
if something's wrong with it and you just set it and forget it and high-end air coolers still like
do a great job as well and they're more affordable so that's how about you Mike what do you think is
better air cooling or liquid cooling I think I think uh um you kind of hit the nail out head is the
pencil price point.
I personally like water cooler because like I think aesthetically looks cooler, but I do know
the price point of like an air cooler versus a water cooler much different.
So in Rowdy, as long as it cools a CPU down, it's fine.
It's really preference and budget.
Preference of budget honestly is like majority, if not all of PC building in general.
So really it's 100% up to you.
I personally like liquid cooling just because, you know, I've always had crackings in my cases.
I've had, I had a crack in X53, and then an X63, and then now I have a Z73 white with the, you know, the AIO thing.
So it's really 100% up to you, but they'll, as long as it cools your CPU down, that's all that matters, because those things get hot.
Yeah, they'll both do a good job at cooling your CPU, but, you know, the science does say, or,
show that liquid displaces heat much more efficiently than air.
So a liquid cooler is going to have better performance.
For me personally, I'm one of the weirdos that prefers air coolers.
I like the look of the like the big fan.
Yeah, to me it looks like a little hot rod in my case.
So I like air coolers.
I'm excited to replace my cracking with the T-120 actually.
I do see the appeal of this though.
like, I mean, I'm showing Mr. Matt Lee's
post again, like, of the knock, all the
knocktoa fans with the air cooler,
it does look pretty cool. Like, all the fans on one
line. Yeah.
I, my, um, when I,
the air, the air cooler I
installed for my mom's
friend was a knock two o one.
And it was,
it was, it was
super easy.
I, like, I was just
like, I got the build done in like
less than an hour because I didn't have to deal with
RGB and an air cooler because
the air cooler, or sorry, liquid cooler
because you have to like screw in the fans
and wire up the RGB and put it in the USB
2.0 port and then
make sure the SATA powers in
and all this
stuff. But with an air cooler
is just like I mounted it and then
latched on the fan and like
put it in the fan in the header
and called it a day.
I just realized
I just realized Mr. Matt Lee missed a spot on the H5.
You only had one fan on top.
So we're going to have to make him redo this video and photo shoot.
And we saw another Maxwell fan up top.
Whoa, I didn't even notice that.
I think it's because of the third bottom fan, which he did replace.
So you probably maxed out on his fans because he had one, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
probably
just needed that eighth one
yeah seven he needs an eighth fan
two fans on top with an air cooler is wrong
is it
is there an issue with having
two on top like a 280 or 240 on top
what was the question
Matt Matt goes two fans on top
with an air cooler is wrong
oh it probably looks weird because it's
just it's just all fans
from an aesthetic point of view
yeah like it's just going to look funky
like it's not going to be
Yeah.
But, you know, there is an empty fan slot up there for you.
Fans in front of CPU intake the...
Oh, okay, I see.
I see.
Fans of front of CPU fan intake the price of cool.
Oh, okay.
That makes sense.
In our review materials for the T1-2, or for the H-5,
we showed with an air cooler with no exhaust fans.
It's just kind of a parallel thing.
Air.
I'm sure the performance.
I'm sure the performance is going to be better the way Matt has it, but like, I'm one of the people that's like, oh, there was an empty spot in my computer case.
I'm just going to put me in.
We work here.
We work here, so we care about aesthetics to some degree.
I was saying.
I can fit a little tiny fan right here.
Let me see what I can find.
Yeah, that covers all the questions Mike and I had for you, Andy, on the H5 series in the T-120.
but we do have a bunch of questions from the community that we want to ask right now.
So the first one is from Chris the Gamer Dad.
Any News?
And when you'll have a Z790 board available?
We announced them along with B5B650E.
There's so many letters and number combination.
they should be available soon.
If you need to build now, I wouldn't do it,
but if you have some leeway
and want to wait for that board,
it's coming sooner rather than later.
I don't know an exact date.
Yeah, and I know people hate that answer.
Like, people complain a lot, especially on Reddit,
like they're saying that it's really annoying
that we can't just give them a date.
And unfortunately, we can't.
You know, I wish I could just say,
you know, this Tuesday at 7 a.m., you can finally get this thing.
But for now, the best we can tell you is we are coming out with them soon, TM.
And the best way to find out when they become available is to sign up for email alerts on that product page.
So that once it does come in stock, you'll get notified and alerted so you know, oh, there's things available and they'll get it now.
But I suck. I really do feel bad that I can't give people.
that exact date, you know, but the reason why, sorry, the reason why we announced it is we
wanted to let people know that, you know, we know there's new CPUs for both Intel and AMD,
and we know people want to build with MZXT motherboards, so we just want people know, okay,
well, we're making these boards, so hang tight while we get them out there.
Yeah, I think at least with motherboard chipsets, it's better to be forthright that we have it
in existence instead of, like,
like plain coil. Like, oh, do we have a board coming out? Oh, I won't never tell, like kind of thing.
But yeah, just if you can wait, go wait. But if you want to build now, find a Z790 or Z790 motherboard that works for you.
Bullet 10-Mule 8 asks, hey, I require that each of you three show me a glass or bottle of water to make sure that you guys are
being hydrated.
Oh, boy.
There's mine.
Mike showed his.
Andy.
Have you had water today, Andy?
No, I've been,
me.
I've woke up and been meeting
since eight.
You got to hydrate.
I know.
Luigi.
Luigi 509.
Are all of you guys using
an NXT capsule,
Mike.
Yes.
Yes, we are.
Yeah.
I'm running away.
I was playing with some people
and
they know I worked for NXT and I was using a non-NZXT microphone and they're like you got to use the NZXC microphone
and I'm like you know what you're right so I've been using it ever since it is very clear like
I do get a lot of compliments on my nasally voice when you're sick they're like hey you sound
extra nascently today what might be right the NGXT capsule thank you yeah I like it it's it no issues
whatsoever and people don't complain
about my sound quality
ever.
I do, but a different story.
But I don't talk to you all the time
with the capsule.
It's either on my...
Oh yeah, Mr. Matley says,
capsule sounds so good when Ivan sings.
Ivan, can you give us the test?
Yeah, what, any request?
Fly me to the moon.
Fly me to the moon.
That's all I got today.
I'm sick.
Nice.
Oh, yeah.
I've been sick.
Yeah, there's a lot of sickness going around.
I know.
Everyone, please.
Wash your hands.
Drink a lot of OJ.
Please.
Hydrate.
Whistler asks,
will there be an H2 case?
Who knows?
Nothing has been confirmed or denied.
Basically an ITX case, right?
Oh, man, I don't.
Okay, so nothing has been confirmed, nothing has been denied, but I will throw this out there.
We had the H710, and then we made the H7, and we replaced the H7.
We have the H5,10.
We made the H5, and we're replacing the H510.
We have the age 210, and haven't done anything with that.
So I'm not confirming, I'm not denying, I'm just throwing that out there for those conspiracy theorists who are listening.
right now.
I think it's just going to be tough just because of the GPU.
So it's like having a ITX case, but with also having to be like like a rectangle instead because of these GPUs, it's going to be a little tough.
We should really confuse people and then we should probably, we should make an H2 and replace the H210.
But then with the H1, we shouldn't, the next one should be the H110.
And then we just start again.
Now we're reverting back.
Now that's said again.
Everything is cyclical.
everything is cyclical.
Just keep changing the numbers back and forth to confuse people.
Yeah, like 20, was it 2012 to 2020 was the 10 era?
Now 2020 to like 2025 was like, you know, H5, H2, 87, 81, and then after that now it's going back to the 10 era.
Or maybe we'd just make it just 20.
So, you know, H520, H720.
That's actually a great segue into the next question from twin dad who asked.
How did you take into a count?
How many people would be confused with the H5 since H510 is a bigger number?
So the reason for naming at the H5 is because we are trying to, believe it or not,
make the numbers simpler and easier to understand.
None of us on this podcast here are responsible for deciding what those names are,
but I'm sure the product team did take that into consideration.
Me personally, I feel like I'm a big fan of naming product like without numbers.
Like for example, the NZXT Manta, you know, or the NZXT Crackin, things like that.
Like I prefer that, but I know the numbers also do make things simpler at times because not everyone
is going to remember a name like Manta or Cracken, but a number could be easier.
So I don't know.
What do you guys think about that?
I think it's just a simpler naming skew.
Instead of saying like H510, H210, like H310, like, it's just just the nomenclatures of especially computer products can just get way out there.
I just bought a record player and it's like the Audio Technica, HB120, XB.
and it's just like
it's a bunch of nonsense
so I'd rather just say like
look on
oh yeah literally as you're saying that
I'm looking up I guess I think everyone
here knows about
the infamous Sony names
for products
like
well like my headset
the XM 41000
XM3s or something like that right
yeah I have the XM
4,000
It's just, I don't know.
It just, it just, it just, it just, it just, it just sounds like it's a robot.
Like, I don't know.
Yeah, here it is.
Um, there is the CB 2000, DSCQX 100, H-I-HM-Z T1, uh, H-I-FD, HDVS, C-L-I-E-T-J, like, I think a lot of people get confused.
Sony FDS
1-086-3H2-0-01 version
1-256
Like these are ridiculous
And I think people tend to get confused
By Sony products in general
So if you just made it a simpler like
Oh, this is just the Sony XM-4s
They go, okay
But if they could have just done Sony X-4s
I think it'd be just so much easier
We even
Um
Um
Even like iPhone names
you kind of um
like iPhone 10 14 15 16
and Samsung too with like galaxy and
Google pixels like
you get a point where there's just so many
numbers after it it's just like
it just gets a bit
a bit much like I just prefer if
like Apple for instance they do this with their
computer just call the iPhone the iPhone
and then just define it by the year
because instead of like iPhone 14 Pro Max
like
like just just call it by you know
if you want to have a pro max
variant that's fine but
I like that actually from Coalition
Game Crew like car companies so it's like
you know iPhone 2019 iPhone
2020 I actually really like that
if you release something every year like you're
or for sure releasing something every year
doing it by like a car style
which is like the name brand
and then just year
that makes it so simpler.
You know, you can have a Honda Civic,
but then have like a Honda Civic 2020,
a 2010, 2015,
like you can have it.
So as long as you release something every year,
I think it's worth it.
But yeah,
that is the,
I think that's simplified a name
just makes it a little easier.
Yeah, 100%.
Regm 902 asks,
how many Funko pops can you fit inside the case?
Have we tested for that?
That seems like some quality content.
I don't have two funco pops with me right now
One of them isn't even a funcopop is thrush
What wait then like what are the parameters?
It's like funco pops comfortably
Funko pops fully built
Just shove it as many funco pops as possible
Like do you put it in the PSU shroud like
It's like the interview question
Is there 49 in the case?
Is there 499 in the case
Because you may only fit like one
In there?
It's like the interview question
where it's like how many tennis balls could fit inside like an airplane or something like that?
You go, uh, what?
It's the same thing.
It's like, well, what's inside the case, you know?
Sanders, you ask, is the H7 with the bottom fan in your plans for the near future?
Um, who knows?
That's what I say.
We're always evaluating our current product stack and seeing how we can improve.
but I don't can confirm nor deny.
Question from Bevan.
The bottom fan is actually a great step in the right direction.
Considering the increased thickness of modern cards
and how close they are to the PSU shroud,
are there plans to include these in future cases too?
We'll see.
It depends on how the market trends,
GPU sizes trends,
and what you think is the need that we need to fill.
People like that fair.
Yeah.
It's interesting.
It's a novel concept.
I mean, it doesn't hurt.
Yeah, it doesn't hurt.
There's a space for it.
Yes, you do kill three and a half drive support,
but I don't know of many people that have more than one these days
because M.DOT2s are so cheap and easy to make and fast.
And that's funny.
go for it.
No, it was the SAT of SSDs as well.
Yeah, I know, I know people complain about the PSU shroud,
and I was just like, I mean,
at that point, would you really need to have, like,
you know, six drives at that point,
or, you know, like, at that point,
you probably going to need, like,
if you're filling up six drives of, like,
eight plus terabytes each or something like that,
I think you may need a separate PC or, like,
a server rate, a server at that point.
Get a NAS.
Exactly.
I mean, the H7 has drive-based support.
I think it could probably do three.
But, I mean, if mass HDD storage is what you need,
then the H-5 is not your case.
Mm-hmm.
And it says we don't know what they need.
Just not.
We don't know.
I mean, everyone's different, but yeah, like, you know,
some people are going to need it.
Some people are art.
But I think at the end of the day,
it comes down to what,
most people need.
Yeah.
Same way with like optical drives.
NGXT was the first
computer company that removed
the optical drive bay from a case.
And when NGXT did that,
everyone thought NZXT was crazy
for doing so because everyone is still
not everyone, but a lot of people were still using
CD-ROMs to play video games.
You know, and now,
you know, I doubt there's very many
people that are using
a CD to load up Modern Warfare
2 tomorrow. You know,
I think it's, everyone's going to be using the internet.
So I know some people are upset that that bottom fan removes some storage space.
But most people are not going to be impacted by that.
At puppy problems, but we're good.
Oh, Mr. Matt Lee.
Ivan, Andy, Mike.
Is your personal build, RGB or non-RGB?
What was your preference and why?
I've dergbed my computer.
because I switch cases a lot
and every time I switched
I would forget to plug it back in
so
all like RGB lighting
and fans are now non-RGB
but my RAM and
graphics card has RGB
so yeah
they got two builds
this is my work build right here let me show you guys
you guys see that you're listening live
so my work build is
but I always just said it on one color, which is purple.
And my build at home is not RGB.
And the reason is because my wife would not really appreciate
having like this flashy computer just, you know,
going off when she's trying to like, you know,
beat the baby or something like that.
So I have that.
the best of both worlds, I think.
Yeah.
Yeah, same thing as me.
I used to have a ton of
RGB, but then after
living, sleeping in the same area
as my PC, I tend to
turn off the RGB in general.
So right now, the only
RGB I have is my RAM
and then the Cracken Z cooler.
But in the new case...
But in the new PC I'm getting, it's going to be
like full RGB, like everything.
Like, fans...
Be a lighthouse.
Yeah.
We actually posted a picture of it yesterday.
Yeah.
I'll show it real quick.
Mike's going to have like the best computer.
I got upgraded everyone.
So I think,
4090.
I'm pretty sure some people were here when I was doing the Spider-Mustime.
I legit was having issues running it at 1080p.
Like it was rough.
Like I was like,
my PC was straight up like dying.
And I was like,
well,
this isn't a good way to showcase Marvel's game.
so this is my new PC
we actually posted this
we got a 4090
look at that's pretty dope
yeah it's so cool
and then this is all the
fans and everything like that
that new H5 right here
with the new fan
lots of RAM
so excited
like I have no excuses
to under form
now like if I run into any issues
that's on me
like that is 100% my fault
but I am so excited
because this is a
huge upgrade from my current specs.
Like my current specs right now is
I7-9700K
2070.
I only have 16 gigs of RAM
at 3,000 megahertz
by the way, not even like 3,600,
3,000 megahertz.
With Intel you're fine though.
Yeah. Like it's more an AMD thing.
Yeah, but this is going to be
such a huge upgrade.
So I want to say thank you to Ivan for like
helping me out with this. So
and shout out to Loran.
too for helping me with that.
Oh yeah, he's in chat.
Cool.
Not enough RGP.
They also left me surprise.
They said there's a surprise and I'm worried.
I'm very worried.
Like they're just, they're like, like a snake in a can.
I don't know.
Because then in the same chat, in the same chat that I was in, he goes,
uh, Laura goes, hey, Ivan, open your door.
And I got really worried.
Like, I was just like, why?
This is, this is, this is scary.
I opened the door and then he was standing there with the computer.
and you've got to give Mike a surprise.
So you're going to get a surprise with your computer, Mike.
I hope the Cracken cooler is just replaced instead of the fluid,
it's just thermal paste, so it just sounds like slush.
Whatever the surprise is like it's the same exact specs of your current PC.
Just, like, I wouldn't be sad.
Like, it's still 2070, but like I need at least more to 16 gigs of RAM.
I think that's the issue that I'm running with.
It's just, it's just a new case.
Honestly, that wouldn't be bad idea.
It's just, I don't have to replace my case.
I had the old H510 flow.
So just replace it with the H5Flow.
Yeah, there you go.
Easy.
Put toothpaste.
We have someone building it for you too.
So it's, it's doing a case transfer sucks.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
That's, when I got the H5 flow, it's like, this is great.
I'm so excited.
And then I, in my head, I go, I have to basically rebuild the whole PC.
And you have to disassemble one PC
And if you have like the crack in
I think getting a new case is probably the most
I think it
What is the most difficult part of building
Or replacing parts in PC?
Like I think the GPU RAM that's easy
But like the moment you have to do like a motherboard
Or motherboard or case
Motherboard or case I think are just like
That's it may be a power supply
Because power supply
If you don't cable managed well
Could be a really ratsnetsdy kind of situation
But I mean you
it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world
because if you just, if you want to do it
kind of the rough way
just unplug everything and just go
and then
you know get the weird
you know snaking out
of the way but
yeah I think
each Petty also brings it up
when the motherboard has to come out
it becomes a much harder task
like the moment that you have to transfer
all those like motherboard stuff the cable
unplug all the cables or like just
move
the cables out and you have to transfer it or you just have to replace it it it just becomes a task.
I had a bad motherboard at work for the longest time and didn't want to replace it because
it was such a task.
It was such a task and it's just like I don't want to deal with this.
So when I was gone, I asked the build team to help me to replace my motherboard with something.
Oh God, I can't imagine that.
more zippier
pineapple
I had a weird build
I had like an I9 and a
1050
I had a 1050
you had a really good CPU
but your GPU was that what
so I was building in the
n7 Z390
and the
so the the card that gave me
was a 1050
initially
but I wanted to try out the new
motherboard and we had a sample
CPU just lined around which was the I9
but it was an interesting build
because it could not load things fast at all
because the hard drive was on an HDD
and it was a mess
Oh, Coaster Fan also has a really good one
I'll do this one last one before we move out to the next question
is yeah, when you have to do a new CPU cooler
but you're swapping backplates
it's basically the same thing
like that's basically the same thing you have to take it
the motherboard too so I feel you man
My next question. I want to know
what is a temperature difference between the H510 flow and the H5Flo?
I think that's a hard question to ask depending on...
Oh, your specs.
Your specs.
But they are better.
There's a...
The reviews out there already with numbers, right?
Yeah.
Um...
I think Tom's hardware and gamers Nexus have a comprehensive reviews.
I would...
I would go.
go look over them because
again, that's a hard question to ask.
I know it doesn't seem, it seems simple,
but there's just so many hardware permutations
and it's
it's hard to say you're
guaranteed five degrees better.
It's going to depend on all the specs
you have in there, how many, like how the
fans are configured,
how the computers even place. You know, is it on the floor?
Is it on the desk? Ambient
temperature of your room?
Yeah, where you live. So there's a lot that goes into.
But overall, it is better.
It is better.
And you're going to pull it.
Mr. Lucke wants to know, what's the best budget performance CPU and GPU combo out there right now, in your opinion?
I know people have said a lot of good things about the 13, the I-5-13.
I don't know the nomenclature, because Intel is very complicated.
nomenclature. But I think the 13, 500 something, let's say, the I-513th gen is really good.
I would consider looking into that. And a 30-60 is pretty good too. I think if you had those two
in a PC, you would be pretty happy. You'll be able to do pretty much everything with that.
Yeah. I built, essentially, my friend was building a CPU, or CPU, a computer.
And I recommended to her a Ryzen 5, 5600X and a 36 ETI.
And it's a pretty good machine. She just plays Overwatch and really enjoys it.
So.
When Dad wants to know, do you think Brick and Nick will win Lego Masters this season by building a giant poochie?
So Brick and Nick, for those that don't know, is a Lego Master who's actually a guest on our podcast a while ago.
I think it was two years ago now.
Let me get the poochie that he made.
Hold on.
Oh, yeah.
I have it somewhere too.
I mean, put the link in his thing.
He actually put together the plans for this Lego Pucci here.
And he's on his TV show now called Lego Masters, which is pretty cool.
Doesn't Will Arnett host?
I haven't watched it.
I don't know.
I had to disassemble mine during the move.
So I had a disassemble mine because I didn't want to break it, break it.
So I disassembled mine.
But I'll be making it soon.
That seems like some good content.
Oh, hey, P&W's in here.
Hey, what's up?
Oh, yeah.
It seems like the good content.
go for TikTok, Mike.
Yeah, you know what, I'll build this up real quick,
and I'll tag brick and neck.
I'll put that down real quick.
Yeah.
Macon's,
I don't know if it's not really a question,
but it's more of a comment on Andy's wardrobe.
Something kills me about wearing long-sleeved hoodies,
but with shorts on, L-O-L.
You know what?
It's the California lifestyle, man.
You know what's funny about that is I do that all the time and my wife hates it.
She thinks I look like a...
Why do you...
Why do you us do that?
If you're cold, hold on some, you know...
When I went to Disneyland, somewhat recently, I wore a long-sleevee short.
It helps protect sun.
You wrap your arms.
Free sunblock.
I mean the comfort thing.
There's nothing more comfortable in the world than wearing a hoodie.
Yeah.
Yeah, I just felt like wearing a hoodie.
Yeah.
And I honestly like the dichotomy of being hot and cold at the same time.
There's something.
Yeah.
But like recently, I was just out and about and I wore like a jacket with sandals.
Like live in my Linus life.
Okay.
That's weird.
Okay.
That's a little.
That's a little.
Like I wear shorts and sandals all the time.
But what we put a hoodie on with sandals?
I'm like, okay.
I just love my Birkenstocks and I got a new pair and I have to break them in.
So I got some Birkenstocks.
I was in Taipei for CompuTechs for work.
And then we were waiting in line at Dintai Fung because one of our coworkers was just taking us around.
Then there was a Birkenstock store.
Then I just bought a pair because I thought the exchange rate was favorable.
but when I did the math, it was basically the same.
So I was just...
You get twice as much.
Oh, yeah.
Are you wearing socks with the Birkins?
No, I'm not that.
Okay.
That far gone.
P&W, he's good.
No, I just...
I just...
I just, just, just bare feet, bare feet.
We'll have to have you on the podcast again
to talk about your outfits, Andy,
but for now, we are going to wrap up this episode.
Thank you so much for joining us and for answering questions about the H5 and the T-120.
Before Mike goes into the announcements, is there anything you want to say?
Let's see what I got.
Also, please stay for the end of the podcast because there is a special giveaway, so please, please stay.
Check out the H5.
I think it's a good case for most people.
And that's it.
And I got no sage advice like the last time because I talked about earthquakes.
And there was one.
There was one.
And I heard there's this in California,
there's like every time there's an earthquake,
the scientist they always have on.
And I think she was like earthquake liaison for the governor at one point or whatever.
Her name's Dr. Lucy Jones.
And she always like explains what happened during an earthquake.
And she said if you had that app, the My Shake app, you would have been warned.
So hopefully you can save a life.
Oh, Lauren just said this is the most special announcement, y'all, the mic rib is back.
And back for the last time, apparently.
Yeah, last time.
This is like the last time to ever get to do this, right?
I saw a video on TikTok of them making McRibbs,
and it was the weirdest thing on the planet.
It's just like this weird meat that they put onto the grill.
Then they, like, compressed it.
Then they put it in a drawer with sauce with, like, the barbecue sauce.
I don't think I've ever had a micrib.
I just know how hype it is.
I've never had one.
I had it once 10 years ago.
And it was just, it was, it was a sandwich.
I mean, it's more of a science experiment than anything.
But you don't go to McDonald's for fine dining and...
Don't do it.
You just...
You just go for McRibbs and Big Macs.
Yeah, you're not going to McDonald's for fine dining.
You're just going in a pinch.
All righty.
I think we're going to announcements and then the special giveaways.
so get ready y'all there's a lot of announcements so please please bear with us but there's something special at the end okay
number one like we said h5 series has been released uh the h5 flow and delete our perfect mid-tower cases with a 280 millimeter support in both the front or sorry
