everyone and welcome to episode 152 of the nzzyxie podcast the official podcast of the nzxc community
uh hold on actually oh it just refreshed this podcast cord live every friday at 10 a m pacific
center time on the official nccc twitch is available to stream on demand on apple podcast google
podcast spotify and sound cloud my name is mike it was me as always as ivan ivan ivan how are you
doing doing good mike i'm happy to be here especially on today's episode because we have um
very special announcement.
So before we get into it, why do you just go ahead and pull up a TikTok and show everyone
that's tuned in live on Twitch what we're talking about?
All right, let's go ahead.
There's go.
That is.
Yes.
Ah, that soon TM, so it's official, Mike.
Yes, it is.
We're making graphics cards.
It's actually come to fruition.
Finally.
Oh, I guess, yeah.
And I know a lot of people are probably wondering why the heck ends.
X-T is even thinking about making graphics cars, let alone making them come true.
And this actually all started last September, and it wasn't like anything we took seriously.
What happened was last September EVGA, a very popular graphics card manufacturer,
went out and said that they are no longer making graphics cards.
And we just thought it was a really interesting moment for us to gauge interest from our own community if there was a market or opportunity, I should say, for NSAC to do the same.
So we made a tweet, very simple question, just said, you know, what if NSG made graphics cards?
And the response was overwhelmingly positive.
We shared the responses with the product team and the bigwigs upstairs, showed it to our main boss, our CEO,
founder Johnny and he said, you know what?
Looks like a lot of people actually want NZEXC to make graphics cards, so let's do it.
Let's get to work, guys.
And today, we finally unveiled what the NZXT GPU looks like, and it is coming soon.
So without further ado, Mike, let's just get into the features, the specs.
But before we do that, I do want to mention a few things.
number one, if you are tuned in live on Twitch.tv slash NZXT right now during the podcast,
we are doing a giveaway, type exclamation giveaway in the chat.
You will get a link to the giveaway and with links to enter and all that.
If you stick around until the end of the podcast, we are going to give you a secret word,
and that secret word will give you a bunch of bonus entries into the giveaway to increase your chances of winning.
and if you're not tuned in live,
if you are listening on Spotify,
Apple, Google, SoundCloud, wherever,
you know, sorry, you can't enter the giveaway,
but, you know, that's probably a good reason
why you should tune in live next week.
So the number one question I'm sure everyone has on their mind
about the graphics card is the price.
So, Mike, what is the price of the NZXTGPU?
We're going to do 1499-99 without RGB.
we're also going to be implementing an
RGB option.
We're $159999.99 as well.
So it's going to be priced pretty competitively
compared to other graphics cards.
Yeah, and I think you hit the nail on the head
when you said competitively,
because we know it's expensive,
but so are graphics cards at the moment.
You can't find a GPU,
or at least a decent one,
a new one at least,
for cheaper than that nowadays,
especially with RGB.
So 1599,
with RGB, I feel like, you know, it's a pretty good deal,
considering, you know, our graphics card does look a lot
sleeker and cleaner than most out there,
so I can only imagine what it would look like with lights all around it.
So what are some of the specs, Mike?
All right, so just to go into the technical terms
because there's a lot of technical things about this.
First, max resolution.
You'll be running around 4K,
at around 240 hertz or if you're going to try and go for 8K
max you can probably go is around 60 hertz
the memory size is going to be around 28 gigabytes
for the boost clock around 2.61 gigahertz
for those that are listening as well
oh the dimension since we know that graphics cards are going to be
huge and a lot of them especially now tend to be very large
who wanted to make sure to account for the size
so you know to make sure that they can fit in your guys' cases
for the actual length it's around 300 millimeters in length
the width it's around 140 so it's a pretty beefy stacked graphics card
and then about 65 inches in height so it's going to be relatively big
so just make sure if you guys do buy this make sure that the graphics card can
actually you know fit in your guys' cases and you don't have to we actually had a tweet
about that someone got a graphics card and it literally didn't fit in their case and they
like literally like saw the hole in it so please don't do that to your guys's cases before buying yeah
we we have confirmed and tested that these cards fit in all in the xt cases including our smallest case
which is the h1 mini at x so despite its size you know it would be it will barely fit inside of the h1
no problem fitting in the big boy the h9 or even the h7 or h5 um yeah it's big oh sorry
Sorry, not inches, 65 millimeters.
Sorry, I wrote inches on accident.
Sorry, millimeter, 65 millimeters.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Yeah, I wrote, I wrote inches.
Yeah, I was like, yeah.
Sorry about that, guys.
I know, I see a lot of questions going on in the chat right now.
Don't worry.
We will copy and paste them into our little Trello card here.
So we will get to them at the end of our little spiel here.
We do have a couple more features and specs.
even has some performance numbers you want to share with you guys um so mike what else what else is included
with this gp u all right so let's see and pull it up uh oh yeah so for the actual as you can see here
i will come with three display port with one hdm i um oh the kudocourse is going to be around 9.1
along with the one of the most fun part we actually am going to try to use the new pcii fifth
generation interface, which I know is a little bit of a hard thing for most people to adapt to,
but we want to get a little bit ahead on the curb before, you know, things start to actually
try to move along.
Yeah, trying to future proof it as much as possible because we know it's pricey.
We know people are going to, you know, expect really high performance, but also, you know,
they want this thing to last a couple of generations.
So we're trying to put as much power into this thing as possible, right?
Yes, we are.
Comes with 4-gen, TensorFlowCores and a 4th-Gen RT cores, the help with ray tracing.
So actually, there is a question here, the thing from Play, Jason,
will it be a software component for this GPU to handle driver updates and optimize it for existing systems?
That is actually my next point, which is, yes, you will be able to use our software
NZXT CAM to actually help update drivers.
We are also implementing a new thing called NZXT sync to allow to, you know, update to your
monitor's refresh rate and a lot more different things.
Cam is working tirelessly on it.
I wanted to call it NSYNC, but that name was taken.
Yes.
Yeah, we could not take that one.
So we'll do NZXTC.
I think my, well, thank you first of all, Mike, for all the specs, but I want to get into
like what my favorite feature is about this GPU,
and that is we actually incorporated our popular cable management bar
into the GPU.
And for those that don't know,
you know, if you look at an NZXT case,
every NZXT case has a cable management bar,
and it's very unique.
It's actually patented by NZXT,
and the whole point of this cable management bar
is to allow you to not only hide the cables,
from your motherboard, but also to make sure everything is routed correctly and everything looks perfectly clean and aesthetically pleasing when you look at it, right?
So, you know, it's no secret. These new GPUs require a lot of power.
You know, they have, you know, really thick, long, big cables.
There's power adapters.
And a lot of times, these cables and adapters, they're bent to the point where they're literally.
literally rubbing up against the side panel, so they're pushing up against the glass.
And it doesn't look very good, but it's also very dangerous.
You know, you can fry your graphics card.
So our solution to that is we are going to have, we do have a cable management bar on the GPU.
So now the cable will be very easy to route on the graphics card.
You don't have to worry about any sort of cable being bent awkwardly or touching the panel.
No worries, right, Mike?
Yes.
That is actually, we've actually seen a lot of.
a lot of, you know, from a f-up PCs, we've seen a lot of people do have that type of issue.
So we want to make sure to do that.
Finley, I'll actually get to your question about the power supply after.
But yeah, so for the cable manager bar, it's actually kind of cool because if you have
the cable manager bar along with your NZC case, it actually looks like a one seamless kind
of like bridge.
It just looks really cool, in my opinion.
Yeah.
And for those, I mean, I've already seen a lot of questions here in the chat about like
the power required for the card.
Yes, it does require a lot of power.
The power rating just for the GPU is 475 watts.
So we're going to re-recommand, you know, probably a 1,200 watt PSU
when you're factoring all the other components in your power supply,
because this one's going to suck up a lot of juice.
I think minimum we can do is 1,000,
but we recommend 1,200, especially if you start to overclock and everything like that.
So you're going to, you're going to, this takes a lot of power, guys.
So please make sure to upgrade your power supplies.
and do not fry your graphics cards.
Yeah.
Well, now that we got the specs out of the way, Mike,
let's get into some performance benchmarks.
How did this puppy perform?
Yeah, so Played Jason Ashi.
We'll have some comparison specs after,
but we don't have everything available.
The main things we have are what they actually performed at
for three different games.
We have three different games.
We use Rainbow Six Sege,
Far Cry 6 and Cyberpunk, those are the three games that we use.
So at Rainbow Sixth Siege, at 1440P, using the very high quality settings in the actual game,
it averaged around 375 FPS, and then at 4K, again, at very high quality.
It averaged around 213 FPS, so Rainbow Sixege is pretty optimized.
for Far Cry 6 at 1440p high quality it averaged around 195 fps and at 4k high quality
it averaged around 187 and then for cyberpunk which is probably the biggest game here
it averaged at 1440p around high quality 162 fps and then 4k at around 94 FPS
Yeah.
And for those wondering, all those numbers Mike just gave you,
those are all at ultra settings.
This is not at low settings.
So we ramp up all the sliders and everything is full blast and we tested and those are the FPS numbers you get.
So yeah, this thing is no joke.
It's beefy.
It's beautiful.
It's, you know, it's an NZXGPU.
What else can you expect?
So yeah, once again, the price for the NZXGPU is going to be $1,499.
That's USD.
And if you want to add RGB, that's $1,59.
So it is a little bit more if you want to be lit, but so is everything in life, right?
Yep.
So, pre-orders.
I'm sorry, I saw Playin' Jason's Last of Us is the only thing it won't run.
Oh, come on, man.
I actually had it in my Steam library too for Last of Us.
Come on, man.
So I do see a lot of questions in the chat, but we'll get to them in a second.
I also just want to mention pre-orders are coming soon.
Follow at NZXT on social media.
We are going to be dropping the pre-order link shortly.
Make sure that you guys sign up and get notified as soon as it becomes available.
We do expect these things to sell out fast.
And if you really want to get your hands off,
one and build with one and get it inside your PC you're going to have to pre-order.
Still no word when we're going to add these into our custom build configurator or pre-built,
but I'm sure that's coming soon as well.
But for now, we are going to just open up pre-orders and sell it individually.
So that covers the specs, the performance numbers, the price, availability dates, all that stuff.
So let's go into the questions.
is everyone asking here in the chat, Mike?
All right.
So from unsuccesses, will they be, actually, there is two questions.
From unsuccesses, will there be some RGBGPUs made and third party GPU custom templates compatible?
For the third party GPU templates that we don't necessarily can say, because those aren't
necessary from us.
But for the RGB, yes, there will be RGB components and to go along with slapped muscle.
Mushrooms question.
Where would the RGB sitting on it, though?
It'll be within the cable bar.
And also there'll be, you don't see it.
We don't have the renders for it.
But on the top of it, there will have like an NXT logo on it that will have
RGB, like a lot of, a lot of other graphics cards.
Yeah.
And if you guys are really interested in opening this up to third parties, you know, we can't
promise that.
But what Mike and I can do is we can pass along that feedback to the product team for
consideration.
So as always, let us know on social media.
Mike and I are the ones there who are replying to all your comments.
So we do pass along the feedback.
Matt Pete actually has a really good question here.
Will the power connector be on the opposite side for better cable management?
No, Pete, it's not.
The whole point of the cable management bar is to manage how most people are already installing power cables on GPUs.
And we don't want to take away from that.
Also, because, as Mike just mentioned,
we are also planning some RGB accessories for the card.
So one of those accessories, I mean,
I don't want to jump ahead of the gun here or leak anything,
but I'll let you guys know since you guys are tuned in live.
You know, one of the accessories we are coming out with
is a RGB adapter cable.
So we want that obviously featured on the front.
We don't want that in the rear.
It will be 90 degrees, but it also
is going to be designed in a way
that integrates with the cable management bar.
And the cable management bar, I know I saw a comment here
saying it's on the wrong side.
It's actually on both sides.
It wraps around the entire GPU.
And the reason for that is for maximum cable management.
So no matter which way you're doing the cable management
on your build, this GPU will make sure that those cables
are tucked away nice and tidy.
And if you want to display the the RGB adapter
that we're coming out with,
shortly then you can do that as well and then go along with that is this the new g12 no the g12
is a gp cooler this is an actual gp so um no word on an actual g an upgraded g12 yet or anything like that
but stay tuned yeah it is compatible though with the g12 if you for whatever reason don't like
our backplate or don't want to take advantage of the cable management bar you could um
take it off and just connect the PCB straight to the gt
12 and it'll work
flawlessly.
I need to change up my
lighting. Do you want to go to another question?
Sure. NVN8 is asking, what is
going to be compared to my 3080
TI founders? NV. Nate, I'm not sure
if you tuned in at the beginning of the episode,
but we did share the specs and this will basically
knock your 3080 TI out of the water.
You know, every spec
on that card is one-uped by our card
Matt Pete
imagine a dirt on those fans so I don't know how you white build
peeps do it it's not it's not dirt it's dust mainly
as long as you don't have if you have like a you know
dust doesn't like make it dirty
yeah yeah Pete me vacuum our rooms exactly like
if you clean your room you clean the fans
you should be fine don't worry it's not gonna stain it
Don't get me wrong.
This will not stay in anything.
Matt, Pete, you should listen to last week's podcast episode
where we talked about PC tips,
and one of the tips we gave is how to keep your PC clean.
We gave a bunch of good advice, like, for example,
like Twin Dad just mentioned here.
You know, no, not Twin Dad,
fluffy air pause mentioned.
Keep your PC off the floor.
That's one way you can keep a dust out.
Another one is to obviously clean it.
use a vacuum things like that so
