Starting point is 00:00:11 Welcome to episode one, 160 actually, at NCCC podcast. The official podcast is the N60 community. This podcast is recorded live every Friday, usually on the NCT Twitch, but we're trying something out on the first time on Twitter. So hopefully this kind of works out. This episode is available to stream on demand on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcast, Spotify, and SoundCloud. My name is Mike.
Starting point is 00:00:34 It was me, as always, is Ivan. How are you doing, Ivan? How do you do, baby boo? Happy Friday. It is not summer. quite yet, but it already kind of feels like it. So happy summer and also happy birthday. I know it was your birthday this week, so I can't believe you're finally 18, man. I'm finally 14. You can finally play adult video games and download them from the Steam Store.
Starting point is 00:01:03 I mean, my birthday of the Steam Store is still like January 1st, 1900, so you know. Yeah. But, yeah, like, as you mentioned, man, we're usually doing these podcasts on Twitch every Friday. We've done one on TikTok. We've done one on Instagram. And we just, we've never, for whatever reason, done him on Twitter. But we figured what the heck, let's just do it on Twitter. So I think we have exactly one viewer right now on Twitter.
Starting point is 00:01:31 So whoever's watching, thank you. We appreciate it. But for, are you okay? I'm going to see if I could actually put on the chat. I thought I put it. I thought I included it on, but it looks like it says, live it in my broadcaster. So let me go ahead and restart it real quick.
Starting point is 00:01:48 And then let me just make sure if I can put it on. So hold on real quick. Let me just edit and redo it. All right. All right. Okay. Let me just redo that. Is it going to be the same link?
Starting point is 00:02:00 It may not be. Let's just leave it then. Let's just leave it. Oh, I already did it. Sorry. Oh, there we go. I think it is the same link. link.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Yes. And shows chat. There you go. Great podcast. And it's the same link, Mike. Should be same link? Is it?
Starting point is 00:02:24 Let me see. I'll send it to you in the thing again. No, it's a new link, new link. All right. My bad, my bad. I want to make sure that we have chat available. There we go. I'll just reply to the
Starting point is 00:02:38 to a tweet. so we don't spam people sorry everyone this is our first time doing it on on Twitter we'll we'll figure out the bugs but um an NGXT podcast
Starting point is 00:02:53 wouldn't be complete without without his issues but I guess if you're listening for the first time I'll just tell you quickly what we do here on this podcast so we do different things sometimes we have guests sometimes those guests are people that work at NZXT and we asked them
Starting point is 00:03:10 questions about their jobs and whatnot. Sometimes we have guests outside of NZT. They might work at a gaming company or a hardware company, things like that. We record it usually live on Twitch, but we also upload all the audio to SoundCloud, Spotify, Google Podcast, and Apple Podcasts. So if you listen to podcasts over there, you can just search NZXT and you'll find all previous episodes.
Starting point is 00:03:37 And as Mike mentioned, we are on episode, one, 60 and well it's actually Mike I just noticed something right now so I think the old stream is still going on and it says 678 viewers and the new one says 42 viewers already combined
Starting point is 00:04:00 no I think the old stream is still going on at the same time it's just playing music right now I think that's good no we're good I just shocked we're good all right so now chat is enabled All right. So as I was saying, we do like different things every week. This week in particular, what we're doing is we're going to be answering some questions from the community that we got yesterday on Instagram Stories. And every podcast, we also like to do a giveaway. We give out NXT swag like hoodies and shirts and stickers. So a lot of our followers on social media, they're not constantly asking. but they do ask frequently and often, you know, like, where do I get an NZXT hoodie?
Starting point is 00:04:46 Where do I get NGCT T-shirt, et cetera? Well, one of the places you can get that stuff is on the podcast. We do giveaways every week here for that stuff. But today we're not going to be doing a podcast-specific giveaway. However, we do have a giveaway going on right now for some NZXT Pride hats, which I'm holding up right now to the camera. And if you want to win one of these, just go to our, Twitter feed and scroll down a few tweets
Starting point is 00:05:14 and you'll see a link there and it's a very simple giveaway, just retweet for a chance to win and I think that's basically the spiel for the podcast did I miss anything Mike? What do you think? No, that's pretty much it. I actually going to
Starting point is 00:05:32 switch this over once we start the thing to something to make sure to keep all of our attentions on once we do it. Okay Okay So I don't Do you see the chat?
Starting point is 00:05:53 I see there's a chat available But I'm not 100% sure Because I'm trying to Read the comments But there's nothing happening Yeah Sorry this is the first time We're allowing
Starting point is 00:06:04 I don't know I don't know if we I don't know if we I don't know if we're doing this correctly Mike because on the original link You gave me that I tweeted out. It says we have 991 viewers.
Starting point is 00:06:19 And then on this new link that you gave me that I tweeted out, it says we have 115 viewers. Oh, no, that's just the replay. So we're good. Oh, okay. Yeah, we're good. Gotcha. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Well, I guess anyway, without further ado, hopefully someone's listening or watching right now. I'm just going to go into the AMA. So yesterday on Instagram stories, Instagram.com slash NZXT or at NZEXT or at NZT at Instagram. We just asked people to ask us a question, and we got a bunch of questions.
Starting point is 00:06:51 So we chose, I think, about a dozen of them, most frequently asked one. So the first one is, what kind of jobs should I apply for at NZT? I have 15 years of experience in management. So we get this question asked a lot, believe it or not. People often ask us, how do we get a job there? What kind of jobs are available?
Starting point is 00:07:17 Things like that. And the answer is always just check out nzxte.com slash careers. We have a bunch of different jobs in different parts of the world, not just where I am or not just where Mike is. I personally work most of the time from home, but I do come into the office here on on Fridays to do this podcast. And Mike is, I don't want to docks Mike, but he's not here. He's locked away somewhere in some, looks like a laundry room. You're in the mic?
Starting point is 00:07:51 Yeah, my little den. Langer's right here. Yeah, but yeah, if you go to ncxtc.com slash careers, we have plenty of different jobs. And I'm just going to go open this up right now. And by the way, Mike, chat is working. I am texting to people in chat right now.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Okay, I don't see any chat. I think it's only on mobile, if I'm correct. Let me open up my phone. Okay, I'm going to start, while you do some of the stories, I'm going to start writing some of the questions now that I get from chat. This is interesting. Elon, if you're watching, man, you could put the chat on the actual, on the actual desktop.
Starting point is 00:08:38 So, like, people can read it. I don't know. I don't see any chat, Mike. I trust you. You're in it. I see it right now. So we're all good. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Well, anyways, you go to ncxtu.com slash careers. The first thing you're going to see is a beautiful picture of myself and Mike. Back when Mike was my intern, believe it or not, standing with me and Dennis there. But once you ignore those three clowns, click on the open positions. And you'll see a huge list of jobs. This question that was asked to us, though, was like asking about 15 years of management experience. but I'm not sure what type of manager this person is, but there's a few manager jobs on there right now.
Starting point is 00:09:21 We're hiring for a marketing manager, hiring a business manager, we're hiring a sales manager, a bunch of different jobs. And like I said, all over the world. So right now there's jobs in Taiwan, in Germany, right here in Los Angeles, et cetera, et cetera. So if you do want to work at NST,
Starting point is 00:09:41 go to nzvc.com slash careers. and apply today. How long have you been working here in that, Mike? Oh, let's see. So I was an intern in 2019, summer of 2019, went back to school, finish up school, and then I worked in customer service for a little bit because I was during like the COVID era.
Starting point is 00:10:01 And then after that, now I've fully been working at NZC, about two and a half years now, about two and a half. I started like last, in 2020, like late fall 2020 so it's about to hit uh three years soon i remember i still remember when i interviewed you and you wore a suit remember that oh yeah yeah yeah of course i mean i was in a business school so you know every interview you had to do you had to wear a suit and stuff well i'm not saying that's a bad thing that was actually a good thing because i i appreciate that you wore a suit because a lot of the people that i was interviewing were you know were in
Starting point is 00:10:43 shorts in a tank cop or you know pick it as a almost like a joke because it was like a social media internship and they're probably thought you know it's just about making memes and stuff but you know you showed up in a in a suit with a briefcase and I was like all right this guy might be the one he's taking it seriously he's a professional mamer and you you printed out all your memes in the suitcase remember that oh yes all right next question is and I'm sorry please forgive me I don't have the usernames I probably should written those down but you know who you are the next question is when will the capsule be back on sale so there is a very simple way to know when our products go
Starting point is 00:11:33 on sale and that is to sign up for the nzxt newsletter if you go to nzxte.com you will get a pop-up have you maybe wait a couple seconds and you'll get a pop-up that says you know sign up for a newsletter and find out about our sales but if you don't see that pop-up maybe you exed out of it and you know you just didn't want to do it with whatever for whatever reason just scroll down to the very bottom and there's a little bar that's to stay in touch and nzxc will let you know about its latest product news and offers and whatnot you sign up and you will get notified and I'm not saying that because you know I want to build up our email list or anything like that it's honestly the best way to find out when stuff goes on sale and people ask often like you know when it's whatever product this microphone or this keyboard or this case or this computer whatever and believe it or not mike and i don't always know when everything goes on sale but if you sign up for the newsletter you
Starting point is 00:12:43 like you'll get notified. And I guess similar related question, which Mike can attest to that we get asked a lot, is when is such and such product going to come back in stock? If you sign up for the email alerts on the product page, you will also get a lovely email from our email team, letting you know when that specific product is going to be back in stock. So I know a lot of gamers don't like email. Like just last week, right, Mike?
Starting point is 00:13:12 we had on the podcast giveaway one person who did not respond to her email. So check your emails, gamers. I got two questions from chat, actually. So the first one, I already know the answer to this one, but from at Ultra L2, what is your current favorite game? I know yours is, Ivan. Yeah, it just came out last week. Super Mega Baseball 4.
Starting point is 00:13:41 I mean, hours you have flopped in already. I mean, in the new one, not that much. I probably played like an hour a day last week, so, you know, between, maybe I'm coming up on 10 hours, maybe. I've been playing it every day. But yeah, it's really cool, and it's also really interesting because this is the first game in the series under the EA umbrella, and a lot of people were, scared that EA was going to, you know,
Starting point is 00:14:13 play the game or whatever, and that did not happen. Thankfully, you know, the game is really fun. This is the first of the series, too, where they added, like, legendary Major League Baseball players, like David Ortiz, Batista, Orlando Sepeta, just a bunch of, like, old school gamers. My favorite game, baseball player of all time, Mike Piazza is in there, too.
Starting point is 00:14:41 So if you like baseball, cannot recommend Super Mega Baseball for enough. It's a really fun game. How about you, Mike? What are you playing? My favorite game right now is Hunt Showdown. Not many people may not know it, but it is checking out on the same library. It's like store page. It is probably one of the most fun shooters I've ever played.
Starting point is 00:15:02 It takes a little bit to get used to understanding how the game works. But the shooter itself is probably more than the most interesting. it's not like a running gun shooter like call woodie or fortnight or all this stuff it's basically it's sound is super important in the game it's a 12 v 12 or it's a it's a 12 person map you get bounties you find there's a like a monster you have to kill you get the bounty you get like limited wallhacks for a little bit so it's like a very you know important thing to get and it's basically like when you shoot the weapons take a long time to reload so it's like it's not like oh let me shoot reload like, you know, my 800 round clip and do it again. You know, you have like some shoot, some guns are literally one shot. You have to reload it. And it's a very tactical, very smart gameplay. It just reminds you of like an escape for Tarkov, but like a light version of it.
Starting point is 00:15:57 I'm laughing because as you're saying all of this, I, I'm realizing that you're just, you have soapy surfers going on the past. Yeah. This is to make sure that people pay attention. I've been, I've been. I've been doing this recently and honestly this is it's been really funny what is going on in this game yeah i've been watching this like little subway server just going at it so it's a good uh marketing hack i guess get people's attention right it's like yeah pay attention here's
Starting point is 00:16:25 here's probably your subway servers because usually i have chat over here but we i can't really like show chat on twitter so i'm just doing what the best ways to keep everyone's attention on i see a lot of hearts coming in once we started mentioning subway surfers so Hold on real quick I do want to play Or I do want to mention that I probably am going to download Diablo For this weekend Because those
Starting point is 00:16:51 Those Megan Fox commercials Got me when she was talking about Dr. Lupo And Shroud and all these other people dying Like I was laughing I thought it was really clever and funny And I It's not a Diablo fan But just
Starting point is 00:17:05 You know As a dad of two little kids that my time is very limited. So games like Diablo, like I don't even have it on my radar for the most part because I know how time consuming they are. But the Diablo marketing team, they're doing a pretty good job.
Starting point is 00:17:21 They definitely got my attention and made me laugh, so I'm going to check it out. Are you going to get Diablo on Mike? I may. I know my friend's been playing it a lot, and he's been loving it, but I have so many other games I need to play. I'm honestly catching up a lot on Switch games.
Starting point is 00:17:37 I never played a new Pokemon game so I haven't played scarlet violet yet I have scarlet so I'm gonna get ready to play that soon and then for my birthday I just got Tears at Kingdom so I know that the moment I you know play that I'm going to be sucked in for like 30 plus hours nice or was the other question you had mike uh from at deal LMO 312 all right I need I want to a two questions from decided I want a serious and a funny one Can I get a free PC? Yes, but not from us.
Starting point is 00:18:15 I was serious and funny. There you go. Oh, nice. I like it. But actually, honestly, that was the number one question we always get when we do an AMA. And I did respond to that on Instagram stories, but the funny gif of a guy just shaking his head. And, I mean, look, in reality, if it were up to me,
Starting point is 00:18:37 I would give every single human on this planet a free computer and I would give everyone who asked for a free PC I would just give it to them. Unfortunately, you know, that's not possible. You know, computers are not cheap. They're very expensive. But that's precisely the reason why we do give away a lot of stuff like, you know, pride hats and hoodies and t-shirts and lanyards
Starting point is 00:19:06 and stickers and things like that for people that interact with us on the podcast and on social and our Discord server, whatever, you know, with our community because, yeah, we wish we can give you guys all a free computer, but unfortunately, it's not always possible. We, every so often, though, I mean, we do free PC giveaways and a lot of people enter, so it's not like, it's not an easy thing to win either, you know. it's like there's definitely more people trying to win a free computer versus trying to win a baseball hat. So I don't know. I think that's a serious answer, Mike.
Starting point is 00:19:45 I don't know. What do you think? Yeah. I mean, like you said, if we could, I would 100% give it. But sadly, we are a business and we have to, sadly, we have to make money somehow. And we give everyone free PC. We will be out of business very shortly. We would go bankrupt that we gave everyone who had a computer.
Starting point is 00:20:02 And it's actually just, it's funny, you know, just before we went live, I was going through our Twitter DMs. And I saw this one DM that you've been having with this person. I'll give him a shout out, actually. The Adrian Conyers, too, King Adro. Like, over a year ago, they messaged us asking for a free computer. And you very nicely told them, you know, unfortunately, we can't. And then they just said, well, I'm just going to ask you every single day. and that was it was over a year ago they missed a few days but it's like their latest tweet today was
Starting point is 00:20:36 you know day 93 and um you know we'll see well we'll see what happens when they get to like day 1,137 or 1,337 see maybe that'll be the lucky number um but yeah a lot of people a lot of people ask for free computers man and they're they're expensive All right, so next question on the Instagram is... Okay, so this is a... This is a good one. Is the capsule mini better than the normal capsule? So for those I don't know, the capsule and capsule mini are our microphones.
Starting point is 00:21:20 I'm speaking through... I don't even want to stretch this out because it's a little tight, but I'm speaking through the regular capsule right now. Mike, are you using the capsule mini? Yeah, I got the mini right here. Okay. So it's actually an interesting question because the capsule was our first attempt at a microphone. And I think it sounds good. I think I've even, I get compliments on my, my audio when I, when I join Zoom meetings or even when I like I'm chatting with my family through WhatsApp on the desktop and I'm speaking through the capsule, like they'll even tell me like, wow, you sound. really clear. I think the capsule is a very, very good sounding microphone.
Starting point is 00:22:07 And whether you're playing video games or not, I think it sounds great. However, with the capsule mini, you know, the capsule mini is our second attempt at a microphone. And I feel like Patrick, who we've had on the podcast a few times, and if you haven't listened to his episodes, then you can go on whatever your favorite podcast catcher is and scroll down and check them out. But Patrick, our audio product manager, he did take a lot of key learnings from the first capsule of like what went well, what could have been better and what went bad and what could be improved and things like that. And I really think he did make the capsule mini better in a lot of ways. And like it's very, I think it's audio is I think a very subjective thing, to be honest, unless it's like really bad. you know, like it's kind of hard to tell like how different two good microphones sound,
Starting point is 00:23:07 but I have heard people say things like, wow, like the capsule mini sounds better than the capsule or the capsule mini is a lot more easier to use than the regular capsule because it, you know, it only has one button instead of two or whatever. You know, there's different opinions on the capsule mini versus capsule, but all in all, I mean, I think they're both very good microphones and you really can't go wrong with either. I think they both sound good and they both work pretty good. There's really easy to use. It's just plug and play.
Starting point is 00:23:42 You don't need software to use them. You just literally connect them to your PC or your console or whatever and you just start talking and it works. What do you think? Mike, which one do you think sounds better? I think for me personally, I think I like, the mini a little bit more one because i just i think it for sounding better i'm not 100% sure on because i'm not audiophile but in terms of like ease of use and how tiny everything is um i definitely love the capsule mini and the mini the boom arm mini as well because um i know a lot of people
Starting point is 00:24:16 have boom arms and it kind of goes like this and sometimes it kind of gets in a way like i have a monitor here to my right um and when i had the regular boom arm or like it wasn't the regular boom arm I had a boom arm from before. I think it was like a Yeti one. And it got in the way of the monitor. It was really annoying. But with the boomar mini, so here's the bottom of my monitor right now. And here, like down here, I'm touching the actual thing.
Starting point is 00:24:42 It doesn't get into way at all, which I love. And I honestly wasn't expecting a miniature version of Boomar to be good because I'm like, why would you want less room? But honestly, now that it happened, I get it now. It makes 100% more sense. But you know what's funny? You mentioned that too. I didn't even mention the boom arm mini, but when I first saw the capsule mini, my first immediate thought was, well, it's going to take up the same amount of space on my desk.
Starting point is 00:25:07 And that's because I don't use a boom arm, right? But then once I started using the boomarm, I actually have the boomarm mini. I don't have it on my desk right now because I'm rearranging some stuff. But the boomarm mini is very compact. Look how tiny this thing is. And once I set this up and then I had the. Even I had my regular capsule on here. I was like, oh, I get it.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Now, like, this saves up. This actually does save up a lot of space set up. You're right. I think when you match the mic, whether it's the regular capsule or the capsule mini, with the Boomar Mini, that is where you really see, like, the magic of something tiny. Not tiny, but fun size, right, Mike? Yes. Yeah, it's, honestly, maybe you still be a little too big, you know?
Starting point is 00:26:05 Yeah. All right. Next question. So this is actually not, well, I guess it is a question, but I turn it into a poll question. It was, when do you bring out the NZXT H9 Mini? And I just replied with the poll question of, like, should we do it? And I think, like, 95% of the people said, said yes. So whenever people ask us to make a product that we don't make,
Starting point is 00:26:34 or they recommend or suggest that we make a product that we don't have, or they give us an idea for improving an existing product or whatever, please know that your question or your feedback or whatever is not going out into the void. We do share all that with our product team. And I have mentioned this to our product team before because people have asked, a lot for an H9 Mini. And those I don't know, the H9 is our newest case. It's a dual chamber case.
Starting point is 00:27:07 It's available as an elite version, which includes RGB fans and a glass top or a flow version, which is a perforated top panel. And both versions have all perforated back panel. So really, really cool looking case, really nice looking case, that does a great job of showcasing your components. And I think the reason why people want an H9 Mini is, well, number one is because it's a cool looking case.
Starting point is 00:27:40 But number two is because if you look at our case lineup, we've updated all of our cases except for our Mini ITX case, which is the, well, we have two mini ITX cases, but one of them is small form factor. which is the H1, but the H210 is our compact mini ITX case, which has not been updated, whereas the H510 became the H5,
Starting point is 00:28:08 the H710 became the H7, and then we came with the H9. So I think people are waiting for an H2, which I guess could look like the H9 if we ever do it, but like I said, Mike and I, we don't really know, exactly what's going to happen, but we do share all that feedback, and hopefully, if enough people ask, our product team does make it happen, and they do listen, you know, like, for the
Starting point is 00:28:40 longest time, it's no secret. Like, it was almost a joke, you know, like, people would joke about how 10 ZXC cases didn't have any airflow, and, you know, we passed all that feedback on to our product team and told I'm like, hey, you know, people are saying that our airflow sucks. Like, we should probably do something about it. And yeah, now, like, we have cases that are covered in holes, you know, and it's not, it's still not enough for some people. Like, people still see a case like the H-9 flow, and they're like, oh, you guys should
Starting point is 00:29:12 have put more holes in it. It's like literally covered in holes, you know. And it's actually a good segue because one of the questions we got on Instagram stories is, can you please focus on cases with front ventilation? And I just replied with a picture of the H7 flow with a smirking emoji because, yeah, like, we can and we have. Like, it's been a minute since we started punching holes in our cases. And I think it's cool because now it's like,
Starting point is 00:29:44 if you want the traditional NZXT look, which is, you know, all smooth, purely a solid, aesthetic, not focused on airflow, not focused on really performance. Like literally just focus on looking as clean as possible. We have that. However, if you want something that is optimized for airflow, gives you better performance, we have that. And we also now also have the elite versions, which is if you want something that just has totally blinged out to show off as much as possible, we also have.
Starting point is 00:30:24 have that now. So I think now we have three really good options for people, whereas before previously it was just one option which was just like, you're going to get a case that's you know, flat panels everywhere and that's it. That's not the case anymore. It's been like that for a while, so
Starting point is 00:30:39 I don't know. I think people just maybe we just need to do a better job I guess on social media, Mike, and let people know that more because we still get that question often. We post this so many times. We were like, hey, we have flow, we have airfo. And then we'll all, that's actually when my like pet peeves is like nzc airfo i'm like guys what we have literally all these cases
Starting point is 00:31:04 like flow here for h9 flow h5 flow 8 7 flow like we have so much air we have we appropriated top and bot and front panels now and even to h5 we have like this like GPU fan specifically for airflow I have the H5 flow right now, and my temps are crispy cold. I'm at 33, 34 right now, Celsius? We got holes on holes. Holes on holes. You know, and like before we had cases of the holes, you know, I always found it really interesting because, like,
Starting point is 00:31:48 the fact of the matter is airflow is not as serious. as people make it out to be, to be honest. Because if you're using your computer for what most people are using NGXT computers for, which is playing video games, right? And your PC is like not going to overheat, right? Like it's not going to damage the components. It's not going to be an oven or whatever. Yes, it's not going to be the coldest PC ever.
Starting point is 00:32:24 It's not going to be the best airflow ever or whatever. But dropping your temps a few degrees by adding holes to panels and whatnot, you're probably not going to notice the difference, to be honest. And I always thought it was interesting because people made the biggest deals out of like, well, I took off my, you know, I have a, let's say, an S340, like this case behind me, right, which is, came out in 20. 2014, people will say things like, you know, oh, NZT, this case sucks because I took off the front panel and my temps dropped five degrees. It's like, okay, well, obviously, if you take off the panel, it's going to get cooler, but, like, what did that five degrees even do?
Starting point is 00:33:12 Like, are you getting more FPS? Are you getting more 360 no scopes when you're playing games now? And the action's like, no, like, you're not really noticing anything. But all that being said, I'm not saying airflow doesn't matter or performance doesn't matter. Not saying that. What I'm saying is it's like, you know, it's not as serious as I think a lot of people make it out to be. But I do think it's cool that we do have that option available now if you want it. You know, if you do want a case covering the holes, we got you.
Starting point is 00:33:48 All right. Next question. Where are we? Okay, this is a good one, because this is a controversial discussion topic in my household. What is your favorite type of mustard? I don't even know. Honey mustard. I like honey mustard.
Starting point is 00:34:12 That's a good one. I replied with a picture of mustard flavored soda. Well, the reason is a controversial question is because my wife hates mustard. and I love mustard. I love all types of mustard. So like... Is that what you get on your hot dogs? Just all mustard?
Starting point is 00:34:30 Yeah, always. I'm a mustard, yeah, man. Like, I'll get like... Just regular yellow mustard or D'Shaun mustard or black mustard. Spicy mustard. There's a whole world of... Of mustards out there, believe it or not. my favorite is probably
Starting point is 00:34:52 spicy brown mustard but I was just curious what your favorite mustard was I guess you're not a big mustard fan like I am I guess I've never considered myself a mustard fan you know you should have a mustard a mustard ace test
Starting point is 00:35:10 I think I'm okay I'm okay I'm okay I'm hot dogs answer your question I do I do mustard and sourcrow. That's because my hot dogs, I usually do brots.
Starting point is 00:35:24 I don't really do like... Sourcouts, okay. I don't really do like the, you know, pork weanies that much. But if I do like a regular pork or beef weaning, it's just, you know,
Starting point is 00:35:40 regular plain yellow, yellow mustard and no ketchup, just the mustard. That's my go-to. Is the Dodger dog, your favorite hot dog or do you actually believe it or not i do not like dodger dogs i the only reason i eat dodger dogs is just i feel like it's an obligation as a dodger fan when you're
Starting point is 00:36:03 at a dodger game at dodger stadium you just have to eat a dodger dog they're not very good though man like i think they used to be better too because um they used to be oscar mire and now i i have no idea oh no they used to be a farmer johns i'm sorry And I think now they're Oscar Meyer, and they taste a little different. You know, I think I prefer the Farmer John version. But they also have a Brooklyn dog because the Dodgers used to be from Brooklyn. And the Brooklyn one, I think it's a little tastier. It's an all-beef, all-beef brat, I believe, which is not bad.
Starting point is 00:36:41 I prefer that one over the Dodger dog. All right. Next question. When did NZXT start? Mike, you know the answer to this. I got to put the subway surfer so people pay attention. When did NST start? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Well, it was, let me pause this, so that I have both it up here. So, NXT start. Do you want the serious answer or the funny answer? The serious one. Serious one? Well, it started with Johnny and I was like, what, early 2000s. I guess you have the answer up right there already Oh yeah yeah yeah but Johnny
Starting point is 00:37:28 Johnny made a Like the was it was it the Guardian was the first one That was the first one Yeah is this yeah you know I'll show I'll show to the guardian It's like a It was the yellow case was the first one So it was different colors
Starting point is 00:37:44 The yellow one with a purple interior Was the first one And I think You know this is actually interesting too because we do get this question asked often as well as like when did nc60 start or um you know what does nzxte stand for and things like that and i think it's because people are just finding out about nzxte and they think it's like a company that popped up out of nowhere overnight or whatever but we've been around for 20 years now this is our 20th year in
Starting point is 00:38:18 oh yeah two hours and three yeah and uh when Johnny started the company, he was still a teenager. You know, yet, and at the time, all computer cases were just beige boxes, you know, and his whole reason for starting the company was he wanted to design a computer case that a gamer would want to put on their desk. And, you know, 20 years ago, this is what he thought a gamer would want to put on his desk, which is this case with bright colors, funky shapes, a window that you can see on, see in the inside with lights,
Starting point is 00:39:04 the front door like swings open and things like that. So it was really funky, funky design. And that is how the company started is with that case, just wanting to make a product that a gamer would want to put on his desk. And then over time, the design philosophy, changed a lot because what ended up happening was, you know, thankfully, but to a, it was very surprising that this case was a hit. Like, people loved it because, like I said, at the time, computer cases were beige boxes. So what ended up happening was a lot of companies started
Starting point is 00:39:45 making similar looking cases or even like funkier looking cases. And basically it came to a point where you know like this whole gamer like you know leaked speak type of design whatever you want to call it just got really out of hand and then he just decided you know what if everyone's getting crazy i'm going to start making things simpler and after this like his first stab at making things simpler was with our phantom cases which were actually the very first white computer cases and they're called phantom because they're white and these cases really are i think what will put n zxt on on the map for a lot of people on people's radars and this these came out in i believe 2008 i want to say was the first one and um from here i mean you can see the design it's still funky but simpler and from here on forward
Starting point is 00:40:45 the designs just kept getting simpler and simpler and simpler uh to like eventually like our design just turn into like a square just a box like smooth like all white and to we're at today now with you know with cases with got the elite cases and the flow cases and we still have the flat flat square cases but yeah it's interesting right like the evolution of going from from funky to to simple and who knows that maybe the future ones are gonna get funky again who knows yeah i just love the the the if you look at the idea from this which is you know has this crazy front literally looks like a transformers like face in the front then you go to like the phantom and it starts to kind of smooth out still has like some jacks some like random
Starting point is 00:41:40 geometry and then you just look at like those the s340 it just becomes perfectly square Look up the So in between the Guardian and the Phantom There's a bunch of funky cases man Like uh Look up the NZXT gamma Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:41:59 I've only seen this once Before Yeah And it wasn't even real life It was online And I go what the heck is this Yeah So what was
Starting point is 00:42:10 Do you know the reason for this design point Like why it shuts out I think Um They wanted to make it look like an arcade machine. Oh, okay, so was it. Yeah, and then look up the Lexa, N-Z-X-E-L-E-X-A. Oh, I've never seen this one yet.
Starting point is 00:42:33 This one is my first I've seen in this case. Whoa. Yeah, this phase, like, between the Guardian and the Phantom was the crafted gaming armor phase. where Johnny was trying to make cases look like, like you're going into battle, you know, like you're going into war, to play these games, and like the cases look like, a lot of like shields and swords and things like that. Look up the, uh, the NZXT Apollo.
Starting point is 00:43:08 It's another fucking look you on. Apollo. Yeah. What is this? Yeah. It looks like a car. like a grill car grill yeah and then uh i think when it started getting simpler is with the phantom and after the phantom it was like uh the the source 210 which i think was like the first one
Starting point is 00:43:38 that was like square yeah i already getting simpler and yeah these just started getting simpler and then in 2014 2014 i think that's when the the company really grew a lot and that's when we came out with this case the S340 and the H440 which were very very popular cases back back in that era and that's when like they were just like perfectly square and then the H440 was the very first computer case ever made that did not have an optical drive bay which is crazy to think about now because nowadays it's like you know very rare that a case has an optical drive bay but this was the very first computer ever that didn't have an optical drive bay and it's also i think
Starting point is 00:44:33 part of the one of the reasons why like people started associating nzxt was like not having airflow is because they they would see our cases and they would they would not understand how the airflow worked because if you look at it it looks like there's no air getting in but in reality i mean like this case behind me here the svvv40 there's a hole in the bottom here and the hole in top here is where air does get in obviously it's not going straight in but there's there is air being sucked in there believe it or not and yeah but now there's holes in there so we don't have to worry about about that stuff and that's also back then back then these our components weren't that heavy weren't that like high in temperature they weren't that
Starting point is 00:45:19 power like you know they weren't that power hungry now now I mean we have 4090s and ours and it's just like you definitely need more airflow in your thing now yeah all right next question is I'm trying to build a PC with a budget of around $2,000 bucks could you give me some advice and the answer is
Starting point is 00:45:44 I sure can. So if you're building a computer and you have a budget in mind, there's two things I recommend you do. The first thing I recommend you do is just go to our website and check out our pre-builds, right? We have Player 1, Player 2, Player 3. Player 1, it's an entry-level gaming PC. it'll play any game you want you know it'll run fine whatever
Starting point is 00:46:17 player two it's more catered for people that want to play games and stream at the same time player three is catered for people who want to play game stream and also create content maybe they're you know according to a podcast like we are right now
Starting point is 00:46:33 so I would I would recommend you look at those three different PCs and just look at the specs get an idea what the specs are and what the price is because our pre-builds they're you know they're not like heavily marked up or anything like that like for the most part if you plug in those uh specs a d p c part picker which is my next piece of advice uh you'll see that you know very similarly price it's always going to be cheaper to build it yourself for a few reasons but the biggest reason is
Starting point is 00:47:08 The two biggest reasons are, number one, you're not paying someone to assemble it for you, so right away, the build fee goes out the window. And number two is because when you build it yourself, you can actually source parts from different places and get things that are on sale, whereas if you buy your pre-built, you have no choice, right? You just gotta pay whatever it is the company is charging you for. So once you know the specs and the price or whatever, you go into PC Part Picker and just start picking it out you know your your cp u your gpue your power supply your rm your ssd your um your uh case whatever you know whatever it is you need and the other third piece of advice which i
Starting point is 00:47:56 mean it's equally as important as the first two but i just didn't rank it up there is you also have to i think know what you're going to use your computer for if um you know, and what I mean by that is like, let's say if someone asked me like, and I have people ask me all the time, like people in my family, my friends, you know, like, hey, I want to get a gaming PC. What should I get? And the answer is not so simple because I got to ask them the next follow question, which is, well, what games are you playing? You know, if you're going to be playing Diablo 4, you know, I'm going to recommend a different PC than if you were going to play. you know, subway surfers on an emulator. So it's like different, different requirements that are going to dictate what you get. So you can't really answer that question of, you know, I'll try to build a PC for 2000. What's your what should I get? It's more like, well, you got to, you got to ask yourself some questions first.
Starting point is 00:48:58 Like, what are you using it for? How much money can you spend? Things like that. So it's a good question. It's just not like a, it's a, it's a. not an easy black and white question. All right, next question, Mike, is tower cooler versus liquid cooler. And by tower cooler, they mean air cooler. Air cooler versus liquid cooler, which is better and why? This is another common question we get. And I think we get this more now because now we're
Starting point is 00:49:34 making both air coolers and liquid coolers. Whereas before, back when we when we first, started making air coolers, we didn't make liquid coolers. And then we started making liquid coolers and we stopped making air coolers. And now we actually make air coolers and liquid coolers. And this is actually a very easy question to answer because the simple answer is a liquid cooler is better. And the only reason a liquid cooler is better is because water displaces heat much more efficiently than air. And that's simple science, even though I flunk science and I suck at math and have no idea like how they do a scientific formula or anything like that.
Starting point is 00:50:22 I do know that water does a much better job at keeping things cool than air. And... I hear the Reddors talking right now. Redditors have been summoned. But with that being said, air coolers do have their perks. and I personally, my personal computer at home, I have an air cooler because I like how they look. I like the look of an air cooler versus a liquid cooler because to me it reminds me of like a almost like a car engine, you know, like it looks like something like under the hood of a car.
Starting point is 00:51:04 But I guess the biggest advantage the air has over liquid is much cheaper, right? Like an air cooler, for the most part, you're going to save a bunch of money. You know, like our, a really expensive water cooler can be like $400. Whereas a really good
Starting point is 00:51:28 top of the line air cooler you can get for maybe $100, $200, even. And that's like, I'm talking like the most expensive ones. So number one, yeah, like price is air coolers are definitely cheaper. The other advantage I think air coolers have over liquid coolers is they're much easier to install, you know, because you just have to make sure that the air cooler is making contact with the CPU and it's usually just, you know, four screws and then you just
Starting point is 00:52:00 plug it in and then you connect the fans to your motherboard and boom, that's it, you're done. Whereas a liquid cooler, depending on which one you get, you know, if you get ours, I'm not saying they're hard to install, but there's a few extra steps. You know, you got to mount the fans, the radiator, the radiator to the case. You got to connect not just the fans, but you have to connect the USB because you have to use software to control the, the temps, the profiles, the gifts. that you want to show on the screen and things like that. So there's more stuff going on with the liquid cooler and not to say it's hard, it's just there's more, right? And I think the other advantage that air coolers have
Starting point is 00:52:51 over liquid coolers is liquid coolers, this is not a common thing, but it has happened and it does happen on occasion, you know, they leak. and we all know that water and electronics don't mix. So if water were to get on your graphics card, there's a chance that that graphics card is going to get fried. And that's not the case with an air cooler. You don't have to worry about water.
Starting point is 00:53:20 It's just air. Air is not going to damage any of your hardware. Yeah, I guess a little plug, I guess, for our cracking. The art crackens do have a six-year warranty that cover any sort of damage to your hardware if they do leak. But for the most part, I mean, it's very rare that they leak. Like, I mean, I can't even remember the last time someone tag us on social with a leaking water cooler. Like, I don't think it happens that often.
Starting point is 00:53:49 But it does happen. Which one do you prefer, Mike? You prefer liquid or air? I think you said it correctly, which is I like how easy it is to install an air cooler. like I when I was building my friend's first PC you know the stock Intel cooler easiest thing in the world literally just plug it in screw it and done you know you know how to do anything else but I do like and ever since I started working at N6T I've only had liquid coolers and I honestly love it you know I like how it looks um especially once you get all like set up and everything like that but it is a lot harder to install like when I had tried to teach my friend how to do it it took oh god maybe like 30 minutes to understand what what wires go to which one uh so it takes a little time but once you do it it's real honestly i really like the look of it i mean i have the z 53 so one of the older crockins yeah and i absolutely love it i absolutely love the way it
Starting point is 00:54:52 um with the like the tubes and everything like that with radiator so honestly i love it so i'm more of a liquid cooler i am biased up because ever since i started working at n60 i've only had liquid coolers yeah we do have air coolers now the team 120s yeah and i'm not anti liquid cooler like i said i i have a liquid cooler on my work pc and an air cooler on my my home pc and it is fun to to put funny gifs on the screen or to look at my temps on the screen and things like that so they're both good and bad it just depends on on what what you want right I have snow run on who's one of my favorite Pokemon. All right.
Starting point is 00:55:33 Next question is, who are you? And I replied with that to that. Clown. Yeah. So, uh, yeah, I don't know. I never know how to answer that question to what they mean by that. Like, I don't know what they want like. They don't, they don't know who the social media manager is.
Starting point is 00:55:49 That's why. Or, but it's like, just, uh, just know you're talking to someone. And if you're, if, so when it comes to social media, like, if you're talking, to the global accounts, which are at NZT on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok. It's going to be Mike and I, but if, you know, we're talking to our other accounts around the world, there's different people behind them. But most of the time, you're talking to Mike and I here on on social and we split up with duties, so you never know who's saying what. But if it's something bad, it's usually Mike.
Starting point is 00:56:31 Oh, I see. Yeah. If it's something good, it's probably, it's probably not me. It's probably Mike as well, too. I'm just kind of an observer of Mike. All right. Next question. I think this is actually the last one.
Starting point is 00:56:50 The last one that I answered yesterday. But if anyone that's watching right now has questions, go ahead and drop them in the chat. We'll get to them. I have one last one. But the last one I answered yesterday was, what's the most expensive thing you sell? And this is a, I don't know why people are fascinated with this question. Because if you get asked a couple times a week, to be honest, people always asking, like, what's the most expensive thing you got? Like, I don't know if they're asking because they want to buy it or, you know, and flex on their friends or they're just like curious what it is.
Starting point is 00:57:25 But the most expensive thing we got is this, it's our Player 3 Prime PC, which, I mean, this thing is stacked. It's almost $4,000. It's regular price is $3,800, but it is on sale right now for $3,800. But basically this PC, you know, it doesn't get better than this, to be honest. It just has everything you need. And I don't know. I don't really know how to answer that question other than just showing them the link. well here it is this one and it's on sale but if you if you check out the specs you
Starting point is 00:58:01 can see why it's so expensive yeah i'm showing off right now i913900 kf 4090 64 gigabytes of ram two separate 1 terabyte SSDs so you have one just for like your operating system and one for like games um a thousand power on supply uh a liquor cooler z690 secondary storage um okay that's that's a secondary one that's pretty much it oh it's in the eight seven elite as well so you can show off your cool fans your rgbs the rgbs what was uh the question you wanted to ask from the chat oh the last one i had here was from uh ultra l2 what did you favorite food slash dish that was easy for me it's it's well it's it's well it I have two. They're tied for sure.
Starting point is 00:59:00 One, there's one, my favorite food to make is barbecue. I love grilling, all types of meats. Like I loves, you know, smoking a chicken or making a tri-tip or just plain old Mexican carnasada because I am Mexican. So I got to make some tacos at least once a week. So, yeah, for me, anything that involves. involves grilling like I love and it's not just even the food I love the the ritual of you know starting the fire getting the grill nice and hot controlling the attempts and all that like all that stuff is just awesome and and especially like on the weekends you know with the
Starting point is 00:59:47 with a nice cold lemonade while my my daughters are on the swing and I'm just chilling there is like that's that's like the my happy place basically um but when it comes to like me not cooking and just me going out getting food or ordering food definitely pizza man i eat pizza at least once a week and like i i love pizza my whole life i've loved pizza man i used to um when i was a kid i would eat like entire pizzas by myself jesus talking like yeah like i i just love pizza What is your favorite pizza? Pepperoni with bacon bits. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:00:31 Yes. And yes, I am also one of those weirdos that likes Hawaiian pizza, believe it or not. That's probably my number two. It's not bad. It's good. Can you get some sweet with yourself? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:45 But my wife hates the pineapple on pizza, so it's very rare that I get to enjoy that nowadays. But yeah, how about you, my wife? What's your favorite? Favorite to make and favorite to have someone make for you? Make, I would say, I like anything with salmon or any fish. Tuna is my favorite, but it's really hard to find good tuna that you can just get. But salmon is really easy to use. So Costco, you get like a whole thing of salmon for like 20, 30 bucks. So I love making like sashimi, nagiri, poke bowls.
Starting point is 01:01:23 So I love making that. it's really easy and you make a butt time of it. So how do you make sashimi? So sashimi is just the fish itself. The gear is... You're not cooking it. You're not cooking it, right? No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:01:37 Just raw. That scares me. No, it's honestly, it's safer to eat salmon raw than it is to eat, like, some meat's, like, cooked. Like, I get more scared cooking chicken to make sure it is not pink at all. versus salmon, you can eat it anytime. You can literally eat it straight out of the river, you know? That's actually one of my things is that I want to like find the salmon and like, like, immediately like, you know, like get the salmon.
Starting point is 01:02:06 Like you get it from Alaska. You fish it, you get it. And then immediately you put it on to, you know, start cutting it up and you start eating it like fresh off the thing. Like that's one of my goals to do. You know, what's what's funny to me too is that you said tuna. And for me, tuna is the worst, man. Are you thinking of like the canned tuna? Are you thinking of the red tuna?
Starting point is 01:02:26 Specifically the canned tuna. No, no, no, no, no. Because it's, to me, like, one of the weirdest things is meat in a can. Oh, yeah. No, that's just filled with so much salt and preservatives and stuff. It's just so nasty. It's not just the fish. I mean, I've even seen chicken in a can.
Starting point is 01:02:47 And I'm like, who in the world is buying meat that comes. in a can. Even like spam, all that stuff. Like, I'm not a fan of any sort of meat that comes in a can. Just, I'm not going to, don't give it to me. I don't want that. Ew. That's nasty. Yeah. No, no, no. Tuna fresh. Like, everything's fresh.
Starting point is 01:03:06 So it's literally, like, you get the thing in. It's, like, container. And then you immediately cook it and make it. I like how yours is, your favorite is, like, the healthiest possible thing. And mine's, like, pizza. It's not healthy how I make it, though. Like, my girlfriend will make it, like, honey. honey and butter.
Starting point is 01:03:24 So that's always going. She'd bake that. You can have like as pokey bowls, but you know, you put like, you know, like a saracha mayo on it. So it's, you know, then immediately does it become healthy but tastes delicious. And for me, I like to just like douse my nagiri with a lot of wasabi and a lot of soy sauce, which does not make it healthy in the slide. It's because of how much salts in soy sauce. What about your favorite food to eat that you don't make?
Starting point is 01:03:54 Eat is Korean barbecue. Which is ironic because you have to make your own... Yeah, but usually when I'm with my friends, they make it because they're better at grilling than I am, so I get to just eat it. I just like to make it how I like it. I like myself rare. So like I like to make myself as like bloody as possible. That's my favorite. But aren't you Korean, Mike?
Starting point is 01:04:18 I am Korean. Shouldn't you be the one making the Korean barbecue then? Yeah, but I don't. the same time my friends love grilling so i'm like oh yeah go for i'll say here just relax if i if i ever go out to eat korean barbecue with you man like you're the griller i'm not gonna i'm not gonna i'm not gonna make it like i got like um i actually told you this the other day because you had korea barbecue for your birthday and i told you i love korea barbecue but i can't stand the fact that you have to make your own food and go out to eat it like it drives me nuts
Starting point is 01:04:49 But when I go out to eat at a restaurant, like the reason I like to go out to eat is not so much about the food. It's just to get, you know, weighted on basically, like the service. Like I don't want to cook. I don't want to clean. I just want to sit down and have someone bringing my food. And I want to enjoy my food without having to worry about, you know, anything else besides just eating it. And then when you go to Korean barbecue, it's like they just give you the ingredients. And then you turn on the stove and, you turn it on the stove.
Starting point is 01:05:18 and take it yourself which yeah but you make it how you like it so you know you get the meat and then you can like just eat up just with nothing you can do it with rice you can do it with like the radish papers you can do salt pepper you can do chili you can do soy sauce there's so many other options what about favorite food that you don't have to make because pretty barbecue you still have to make yeah but maybe uh uh there's a boiling crab which is the spicy cage and seafood you know you get like that bucket that would probably be another one. I absolutely love spicy stuff, so give me anything spicy.
Starting point is 01:05:53 I'll do it, even though I'm bad with spice. I actually do like boiling crab a lot, and my wife loves it too, so we do eat it every once in a while. And she gives me a lot of grief, though, because I am the one that orders the shrimp peeled. But I just get a bag of peeled shrimp, and then she's the one with, like, getting the, you know, breaking the getting off whatever the shells off the shrimp and all that and for her that's like the way you should eat it and for me i'm like i'm still too lazy to do that you know like it's kind of the korean barbecue thing it's like if you're going to serve me food i don't want any work involved
Starting point is 01:06:31 i just want to eat it and i always ordered the peeled shrimp it goes to show how lazy i am yeah i am very lazy but even or not i guess you can believe it i am believe it i mean i mean Well, that's for the questions, Mike. I guess it's wrap it up. Let's do some announcements and get out of here. It's Friday, and it's not summertime officially, but it is June, so we're going to have some fun.
