Hello, everyone.
Welcome to episode 184 at the NZC podcast,
the official podcast of the NZC community.
This podcast recorded live every other Friday at 10 a.m.
Pacific Standard Time on the official NCC Twitch is available to stream on demand on Apple Podcast,
Spotify, SoundCloud.
My name is Mike.
It was me as always is Ivan.
How are you doing, Ivan?
I'm doing fantastic, Mike.
Happy Friday.
Yeah, we made it to Friday, y'all.
Yeah, thank you.
to everyone who is tuned in live today on Twitch.tv slash mZXT.
If you are tuned in live, you're in for a treat.
We are not only going to give out a bunch of free PC tips,
we're also going to give away a free coveted purple NZXT mascot,
aka Pucci, the little plushy that everyone wants.
So the way to get that is to type exclamation giveaway in the chat here,
and then you'll get a link to enter that give.
away. If you stick around until the end of the show, you'll get a super secret special word
that will get you a bunch of bonus entries to increase your chances of winning. And like I said,
today we're going to be giving out free PC tips, not free PCs, free PC tips. There's a difference.
And the reason why we're doing this is because we do see a lot of people doing things they
shouldn't be doing with computers online.
If you don't believe me, just take a look at our Instagram.
Mike has been posting some of those things all week long.
Yeah, so you do not want to go to Funky Town, right, Mike?
God, it's stuck in my head for the next, like, 30 years.
Yes.
But yeah, Mike, let's start off.
Let's go through the tips and let's give them out.
All righty, everyone.
This is submitted by our Discord community.
I separated it into three sections.
I have planning, like, before you build it, the actual building of the PC, and then doing stuff after or like any tips what you should do after, you know, you, I feel fully build it and it works.
So we're going to go ahead and start off on the planning stage.
So from Halo Bow 143, always check if the parts are.
are work good together.
This is from the Discord
so I'm not expecting perfect grammar,
but it's always a good idea
to double check
PC Part Picker, PC building
simulator just to make sure
the parts I've worked.
I have had so many people
contact the NZCDMs
going like, hey, my graphics card
doesn't fit in this H5 flow.
It's like, well, yeah, these are the specifications
on the graphics card
you could do or like oh i want a vertical
mounted but it won't fit there you go
you have to make sure to double
check that what's that i want to find that mean
the guy that like sawed
the case for the GPU
yeah someone just posted
i think it was on PCMR
they uh
they literally just cut their case to fit their GPU
and i always feel bad man
when when people message us on social
um and they'll say
like hey like you know
I bought one of your products and
I can't use another one of my products.
And I feel bad for them, but I also, you know, I'm just honest with them.
I tell them, well, you know, you need to check before you buy stuff.
Because, you know, it's if you're building, it's your responsibility.
And you mentioned the PC Part Picker.
I mean, there's no better website in the world than PCPartpicker.com to check compatibility.
you just plug in the parts that you're using
and it will tell you yes, it's compatible or no, it's not.
And if it's not, then you know you should not buy them.
So, yeah, it's always good to plan your build before you build.
Otherwise, you'll end up with parts that don't work together
and then you won't have a PC.
Yeah, so I'm going to put on the H510, the old H510.
And then I'm going to put on a cooler, like a Cracken,
360
it should tell us
that it should not be able to fit
there's our X
there's an X70
where's the Z73
so let's see if they have it
oh they don't have the Z73
actually
there's no 360s
hey there's no 360 millimeters
oh that's weird
okay let me see
I think it should
yeah this will show compatibility
C notes below
but yeah that makes me up
Maybe it's not showing it.
Oh, wow, that's actually really cool.
I did not know they actually, because I remember before,
you could just choose any parts, and then it'll tell you like,
hey, this will not work.
So good job, easy part breaker.
Even better.
And you want the next one?
From Overdriven, you don't need the latest and greatest thing to get great performance.
Old hardware is still great if you know how to make the best of it.
This is a solid tip.
You know, like a lot of times, not every game, but a lot of games.
If you tweak the settings, you're going to get really great performance,
especially on older games.
So, like, for example, a game like CSGO, which is probably arguably the most popular game of all time,
you know, it's not very resource intensive.
You don't need, like, the latest graphics card,
the latest CPU
64 gigabytes of RAM, all that.
You don't need a beefy PC to run it.
You can have a really old PC
and then just turn down all the settings
in that game and you'll still get like 300 FPS.
Yeah, I think that's something that people don't realize.
I guess from people that go from console to,
I don't even know if console can do this now,
but you know, you can change your settings.
Settings, you can physically lower everything down.
Like, if you really want to hit, like, 400 FPS on Fortnite and you're only getting like 200,
don't play on epic settings, lower it down, you know?
It's, I don't know if people in console can do that still.
You can on console on some games.
Some games, okay.
There are some games that let you run performance mode or graphics mode or whatever they call it.
But they don't let you tweak the settings like you can on a PC, like on a PC.
you know, you can turn off shaders and anti-aliasing and all that stuff.
And on the console, you can't...
I mean, I've never played a console game unless you do that,
it's either, like, do you want pretty graphics or do you want better performance?
And I'll always pick better performance, you know, it's...
It's just better to run things like that.
So it's a good tip.
And also, this tip kind of depends on the games you play, too.
Like, I always tell people, my personal PC,
it's not beefy.
Like I still have a GTX 970 in there
because the games that I play
do not require
you know
a big brand new graphics card.
So it just depends on the games you play
and
like you said too like a lot of people have consoles
and they see a PC and they think
okay if I'm going to be a PC gamer I have to spend
$5,000 like that's not true.
You get like a really
really good PC for cheap
if you don't need an expensive one.
God, I had so many,
when I worked in CS and, you know,
during Christmas time, we'd have like a bunch of people
be like, oh, you know, my kid wants to play
video games and I'm like, okay, what's your budget?
You're like, oh, you know, 1,000, 2,000.
I can even go up to 3,000 of need.
I'm like, wow, okay, so we can work with this.
What games is he's play?
Oh, he just plays Fortnite.
And I'm like, okay, okay.
And I'm like, you don't.
you don't need a very expensive PC for that.
And we've had like kids be like,
oh,
I need a player three prime to play League of Legends,
right?
Like trying to convince,
I'm like,
I'm going to be honest,
bro,
you do not.
You can run that thing on a Mac if you really want to.
I need a 4090 to play Tetrio.
Exactly.
So you don't,
you don't need to do it.
You can.
I want to admit,
if you,
I mean,
there's a,
on the flip side,
you know,
there are people who have the money.
And maybe they just want to have,
like the latest and greatest and not have to worry about a PC for several years.
You know, that's fine too.
That actually is, let me see if I could find that tip.
Buy once, cry once.
I'll move this up from climax.
This kind of goes along with his that, you know,
you know, I put this not because of the person doing a plug.
This is what they wrote, not me.
NZXC released a crack in with industry leading six-year warrant.
T sticking to this piece of advice, I bought the X-72 360 in 2018.
It's been six years and I have yet to shed a tea.
Yeah.
And that's, I mean, like, like, yeah, like, the warranty on the, on our Cracken is an industry
leading six years.
So that means you can have your PC running for 60,000 hours and that crack in theory
should be fine.
And not cheap, you know, like I see people all the time on.
our Discord server on social saying NZT stuff is expensive.
Well, yeah, it's not cheap to make a quality product that's going to last few six years.
And if it does break within those six years, then we'll replace it.
So buy once, cry once.
I've never heard that before, but it's a good point.
You know, you do get what you pay for.
You know, if you buy, you know, a $50 AIO on olibaba.com.
You might not get a secure warranty.
You might get like a six-day warranty with that one.
But yeah,
this is a good one.
Buy one,
cry once.
Yeah,
I saw this.
I was like,
this is actually a really good piece of,
you know,
honestly,
this is actually a good,
uh,
tip for things in general.
Not like you have to buy something super expensive,
but like if you're going to use it for years and years,
power tools,
you know,
especially,
like if you're going to buy a nice drill or a nice screwdriver,
I want you going to use it for decades.
Might as well purchase something decent,
so you don't have to keep replacing it.
Yeah.
Want this one, Ivan?
Sure.
From Kairbanog.
If you're building a PC for the first time,
plan to have all the parts arrive within a few days of each other.
Assemble your PC soon after the last part arrives.
This allows you sufficient time to exchange defective parts,
parts during the seller's return period.
That's a great tip I've never heard of.
Very smart.
A lot of times people do actually buy pieces as they can afford them
versus just saving up all your money until you get everything.
And I never thought about this.
So like let's say you're going to build a new PC, you need $3,000, right?
And the graphics card is $800.
So you save up $800, you buy the GPU, and then like six months.
months later, you spend another 800 on the CPU and RAM.
And then six months later, you spend the rest on the case and the motherboard, whatever.
And then next thing you know, when you actually build your PC, that graphics card doesn't work.
And then it's out of the 60-day return window or whatever, then you're kind of screwed.
That's a piece that's really good too.
Someone in the chat.
Let me see it.
Oh, from Pace T.
White.
Had that's funny.
Pace T. White said, spent 1.5 months going through parts before I ordered them.
Check the numbers, people.
And I think that kind of works along with this, is that, like, you know, if you are like,
oh, I can buy the case now, maybe you can wait a little bit before something happens down
the road.
Or maybe, heck, maybe you can do a wait a little bit and then the price goes down a little bit.
There won't be many times where the price will go up as you wait.
So might as well wait to buy it all.
Yeah.
That's a good tip.
Thank you for that one.
Yeah.
I actually, I was reading during a lot of these and I'm like, honestly, this is pretty good.
This actually was one of my favorite.
And this, I honestly, whenever someone DMs me on Twitter and they ask what PC I should
get, this is actually one of the questions I ask from JLJ 5237.
A lot of new PC builders don't factor in the price of a nice monitor desk, chair, and only
consider PC under budget.
But those are the most almost, ah, those are also important things.
to consider to complete your budget or complete your build.
This, I actually, when I have people DM me, I'll give them like a multiple question.
I'll be like, okay, is like I have $1,500.
I want to buy a PC, what PC show I get?
I'll ask them three questions.
I'll be like, okay, well, one, is it just a PC or do you need to buy, like the guy said,
monitor, desk, keyboard, mouse, headset, desk, like, do you need anything else?
also account for games as well
that's a that's a huge one
second is like you know
what resolution do you want to play at 1080p
40 40 40 4K
and then from there
then you kind of figure out like okay what games
you're going to play
what are you going to stream
or are you got a video edit so
a lot of different questions that a lot
of people do not consider like oh I have $500
only buy a PC and then they end up being like
well now I have not I can't play
it a PC
yeah and you have a $500
paperweight yeah exactly
Exactly.
Yeah, this is a good tip because, you know, the reality of things is it's a lot of money, you know, and like, it's not that it's expensive.
You do get a lot of bank for your buck because if you think about it, it is yes, it's a lot of money, but what you get in return, it's actually relatively cheap because you get hours and hours and hours and hours of not just entertainment, but also productivity because a PC does,
way more than just play video games.
So I do think it is worth it.
But, you know, you're right.
A lot of people maybe they just think, you know,
if I have $50, $500, I should just buy a $50,000 PC.
You know, maybe you should buy a $1,000 PC and $500 worth of peripherals.
So you have an overall good experience.
So, yeah, I think it's a good tip.
And then the final one, Evan, you wanted to say this one?
From M317, you can never.
have enough hard drive. Think of what you might
need and double it.
This is very, very
true, especially nowadays
because
games are
being ridiculous. Like some games
500 gigabytes.
It's just like taking up so much space
on your PC and then they have
like these updates that are like, you know, 100
gigabyte update and it's just, you know,
why? Why are you doing this to me?
And before you know it,
you know, your one terabyte hard drive is
full.
So
with this
rate, as for the Xbox store,
Call of Duty Blackoff 6 is going to weigh in at
309.85 gigabytes.
Yeah, that's huge.
It's pretty huge.
Yeah.
I have my friends that have like 250
gigabyte solaceate drives
and I was like, you
physically can't even
download a game on that.
I'm going to actually
I'm going to double down on this tip.
I'm going to make this very, very easy.
So rather than, you know, tinkering with your PC, like, because some people don't want to, like, you know, open up their PC, take apart their motherboard and install new M.2s or install a new hard drive or SSD in the back.
Invest in an external hard drive.
That's a good.
That's a good one.
I like that.
You just got to plug it into your USB and you're good to go.
And you don't have to worry about tinkering with, um, with upgrading the actual PC itself.
Oh, that's a good one.
I like that.
Yeah.
And they're relatively cheap, you know.
Hey.
Obviously, it's not as good as having an M.D.2.
But, uh, it'll get the job done.
And M317 is right here.
Yeah, I was saying he, the man that, uh, gave the tip is right here.
Nicely done.
Um, I think also people have to,
understand that
like it's really annoying.
I have friends that do this.
I'm not going to call them out,
but you know who you know.
That have to uninstall,
re-install games all the time because they're like,
oh,
well,
I don't have enough room.
I'm going to download,
reinstall it again.
And it takes them,
you know,
30 minutes to play while we're all playing.
It's kind of a pain.
And luckily,
I know,
you know,
if you can't afford it,
don't get it.
But if you have the ability to,
getting a new SSD is not hard
you can get like an external one like I haven't said
installing an M.D2 is also super easy
it's probably one of the easiest things to install in a PC
so look into that if you have the room
in your motherboard to do that
I remember one time I was looking through Mike's PC
and I was like what does he have a 2 terabyte
homework folder
it's a 2 terabyte anime
folder so don't look at
okay I didn't click in there
I was good, good
We'll keep that
Evan
We're going to have to talk with HR later about this
All right
We're going on to the PC building
So the actual building of it
Before we're into pre-planning stage
Now we're going to do it
Um
For from electric Yoshi
For first time builders
I would highly recommend playing a similar
That's about building PCs
That way you can learn how parts installed
Where to connect this
To connect this to that
and you'll get to know that building PC both in-game and IRL is much easier than it seems.
What's the thing?
What do you say?
It's a PC building is adult Legos.
Except this cheaper.
So much cheaper.
So much cheaper.
But honestly, this is a great one.
Also, a big tip, I have friends that never built a PC before.
I sent them.
Linus Tech Tips has a GoPro first person shooter, like a first person POV.
like one he has like a GoPro on his head.
That I think is the one of the best videos I can show people because,
you know, it's kind of hard to mimic.
It's like, you know, like when you need a tie tie,
you're trying to mimic the person.
It's really hard to.
But having that first person view is really helpful.
So highly recommend it.
And if you have a chance to build it yourself.
Yeah.
And PC building simulator, you know, it's an awesome game.
if you haven't played it.
I mean, I don't necessarily know if you'll learn how to actually build,
but it will give you like a very solid foundation of knowing,
okay, what parts do I need?
Where do they go?
What do they do?
What is it going to look like?
And once you know that stuff, I think when you go to real life,
you already know that so you know you're not as intimidated, I think.
Um, you know, I don't know if they have front panel simulators, but
that's probably the next, the next big game someone should be.
I think, I hate the front panel.
Uh, I, for those here, um, that don't know about the front panel thing,
yeah, there's like six different, like, things that you have to, like, install manually.
Uh, the great thing about the new 8-7 flow that I just installed, it's all one.
It's all one little plug.
Greatest, greatest invention of all time.
so I'm glad we brought that.
So, 10.
Yeah.
All right, Ivan, your turn.
All right.
Next tip from Little Rob.
Always build and test outside of your case first.
Nothing worse than fully building out
and your PSU or some components are fried.
And then shrimp emoji.
So this is probably like the best advice that anyone could give you.
However, I never do this.
I never do it.
I yolo it, man.
Every time I build a PC, I'm like, I'm just going to put it together and then hope it works.
But I should be testing outside of the case.
I guess the reason why I don't do that is because I am kind of spoiled to work at NZXT
where I'm like, yeah, if this doesn't work, I'll just get a different one, like, whatever.
But, yeah, like, you should be testing outside of the case before you put everything together.
The only thing I will add on to this is just to make.
make sure that you put your motherboard on a non-conductive surface when you and so don't do this on your
carpet while you're wearing socks rubbing your feet back and forth. That's not a good idea.
I always like to just put my motherboard on top of the motherboard box. It comes in and that makes it safe
enough. You don't really need an anti-static wrist strap, although if you have one, you know,
wear it. It'll help. So yeah, this is a good tip.
for Philnix.
I don't fully agree with the comment
when you build outside the case,
you open up a lot of compotes,
ESD and other changers.
I think this is more of like
if you had the ability to test
like your power supply,
like you have the actual
like the voltage meter thing.
If you can do that,
do it,
but you don't need to do it.
Kind of one of those things.
Yeah, well,
and that's what I was saying,
like just make sure that
you're doing it safe.
Don't do it on the carpet.
well, you know, it's...
You could potentially damage your components,
but as long as you're safe, you'll be fine.
Yep.
All right.
This is a tip for me,
mainly because I just built in my PC,
and I never cable manage.
I know, I know.
I'm a hypocrite.
I tell people, like, when we raided the setups,
I always been like, oh, you don't cable manage.
I actually did it this time,
and using cable ties is,
so, so easy.
You know, it really does help.
It makes everything look cleaner.
It actually does improve airflow a little bit rather than it being all spaghetti.
Blow out your PC at least once a month and always go green as in Vida.
You don't need that.
Be always a video and AMD has some great graphics cards now.
But yeah, I mean, use cable ties, seriously.
And blow out your PC, which actually leads to, oh, no, I have one later about that.
But, well, as you build, cable manage.
Big, big, big, big, big advice that I can say.
What I think is that not everyone calls these things cable ties.
A couple months ago, remember when you posted a picture on social and asked, like,
what do you call these things?
And there was, like, so many different names.
Oh, yeah.
It was really interesting.
But yeah, like you said to Mike, believe it or not, nice cable management does improve performance.
So take your time.
make sure everything is nice and tidy
and you'll thank yourself
later I mean whenever you have to
like tinker with stuff and knowing where all those cables are
it's much better than
than having like a rat's nest
behind your PC
oh yeah
we
this one I kind of want to give a little
context before we do this
oh well thank you
for the raid
thank you so much for to raid
so for this one
Hello, thank you guys so much for to read.
Seriously.
We have to do this podcast in Spanish, Mike,
because this is from Mexico.
So,
I can't be a pure Spanish for the people of Mexico.
Much of saludos.
Thanks for being here.
Those we want much.
Hey, Mike, can you say NZXT in Spanish?
I cannot.
I learned French in high school.
I was weird.
Saying NZT in Spanish is like the most complicated word of all times.
Really? How do you say it?
N Z-X-T.
Oh, that would be really annoying to say all the time.
N-Z-T-T.
I think instead of saying that, we should just put a tilding on top of the N and call
E N-A-Z-T.
That makes it easier.
Ah, that's really complicated.
Honestly, NXT is like one of the most complicated PC company names out there.
Like you have like, you know, a Corsair, Razor.
It's very simple.
But ours is NZT.
Like you have to pronounce each letter.
Yeah.
In retrospect, we probably should have chose a better name.
I mean, it works.
It's very, it stands out a lot.
Yeah.
All right.
So this is the context about the PC tips.
Please do not forget to take out.
the plastic peel on the cooler.
There's a little thing that separates the thorough paste,
the cooler, and the sticky.
Take the plastic part out.
Seriously.
Like,
really do that because I know there's a tech YouTuber that,
you know,
we currently work with and stuff like that,
that forgot to do that.
Caused a lot of issues,
but it happens,
but please take it off.
Yeah,
I don't think a week goes by on Reddit
where someone posts on PC Master race.
Like,
I was getting high temp,
so I wanted to change my thermal paste
and I found this and it's like,
you know, they've got to peel the plastic.
Oh, dude.
You know, it's actually pretty easy to forget to do that,
especially when you're really excited to build a PC,
you know, because it's literally just a little piece of translucent paper
that you can't even see it.
So unless you know to peel it,
you can possibly forget.
So this is a good tip.
I think maybe before you build that you should just make a little checklist and like this should be one of the things
if you check off because it it does happen a lot believe it or not don't don't forget the peel seriously what's
and someone here in the chat is asking like what happens do you forget that from taco uh taco the dog here
so the funny thing is some people do this and then right away like their PC is overeating some people do this
some people do this
and then it's like five years later
they look and I'm like
whoa I had this thing on here the whole time
I think it did I think
what happens
um
depends on what you're using your PC
for like if you're rendering
videos and streaming and
playing
uh call of duty at max settings
you're probably going to
notice it much faster than
if you're just you know
browsing the internet and
uh
you know, playing Tetrio or something like that.
So I think it just depends on what you're doing,
but it's not ideal for sure.
Taco Dogg says,
what's a normal temp for a CPU?
So, like, right now,
I'm doing a bunch of stuff right now,
and my temps are around 30 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Pretty decent for a small idol on, like, full load.
Like, if you're playing, like, a really high, intense video game,
you could be on, like, 60 to 80 Celsius.
But if you forget the peel,
you could be upwards of, like, 90 to 100 Celsius,
which don't forget this is Celsius
so like what?
It's 100 Celsius of Fahrenheit
212 Fahrenheit
which is very hot
having that peel
just eliminates
everything of like any issues
you can possibly
electric Yoshi just joined late
and they missed their PC tip
Oh yeah we just went over your PC tip man
We literally just talked about you Yoshi
Yeah 140-150 max
Yep
From KS2222-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2.
Make sure you didn't connect the 4-pin RGB fan into the 3-pin ARGB.
Yeah, so this is actually a good tip because if you look at your motherboard,
there's different types of fan headers.
And then if you look at your fans, there's different types of fan connectors.
So it's very easy to mess up and put the wrong thing in the wrong place.
And next thing you know, your RGB doesn't work or your fan doesn't spin.
And then you contact customer service and they ask you, where did you plug it in?
And then you tell them, and they say, like, actually, you plugged it in the wrong thing.
You know, you got to plug it in here.
So always make sure you're plugging stuff in the right spot, not just your fans, but every cable, basically.
Yep.
Huge thing.
It literally is the simplest thing, but it's also something that you can easily do.
Yep.
Oh, double check everything, like Lord Demi said.
All right.
Long one.
Very long one, but it's from Stephen 0904.
It's not that hard.
Enabling XMP on your profile.
Like, huge thing.
A lot of people don't do this.
For those that don't know,
basically your memory will run at like a stock speed,
which is like a safe speed.
But you have to physically enable XMP to make sure that it runs at its full capacity
so that you can utilize it all.
Basically, go into your bios, spam the, was it the delete key,
go into your bios when you restart the computer,
go to advanced settings, head to the RAM and enable XMP.
Super easy to do.
It takes literally like two, three minutes most,
but it is probably one of the most helpful tips
and probably one of those things that some people don't even realize about.
So definitely do that.
Yes.
All righty.
Final section.
go into aftercare. This is actually one of my
favorite sections is for those that already
have their PC,
what to do, like how to maintain it, or
like small tips that you can do.
I mean, want to start this one off?
Si, senor. Let's see. From Manic Cloud.
When
building a PC,
make sure you plan your fan intake
and outtake to ensure proper
airflow. When it is done,
head into BIOS and adjust the fan
curve so fans stay quiet,
until things ramp up during gaming or other heavy applications are in use.
So this is a very good tip because if you go on Reddit, you know, every single day on
the NZXT subreddit, on the PC MasterRae subreddit, on the PC build subreddit, on the builded PC
subreddit on any subreddit that has to do with computers, people always ask the same
exact question. Are my fans pointed correctly or what's the most optimal airflow or which
which way should the air be blowing? So it varies by case, but with NZXT cases, air usually,
or not usually, it always goes in through the front, and then it goes out through the top and the
back, right? And fans blow certain directions. So you want to install the fans to be following
that pattern that the case is designed for. So always make sure you're, like, you always know which
direction your fans are spinning if you don't know i always tell people to just get a piece of paper
and put it next to the fan when it's when it's spinning and then if the you know you'll see like which way
the paper's going right um the other part of this tip i don't necessarily agree with because i have a
different mentality i don't really care that like my fans are spinning i i always put my fans at full
speed.
Like, that's just me.
But I don't really, I'm not trying to keep my PC very quiet either.
So if you're trying to keep your PC quiet, you could adjust your fan curves and tinker
with them and set different profiles, not just in bios, but even with NZXT cam, PC
software, you could do that.
But me, I like to set it and forget it.
I put everything at max speed and then move on with my life.
For those that don't know, let's see.
So there's this back where you see.
see these like little like brackets right here this is where the fan the airflow goes so usually
you have the logo the logo is where the air is coming through so if you have your case here and you
have it this this is intake if you have it like this it's exhaust so really easy way just to double
check is if you have these brackets right here this is where the airflow is going towards
a tip.
Clean fans from Anonymous.
Clean your fans and ducks regularly.
I think everyone here should think about it and do that.
I just cleaned mine because I just did a case swap,
but you should be cleaning your stuff regularly.
If you live in like a place with like if your cat sits on your like computer or you
have like a dog or your windows always open, definitely consider cleaning your case a lot more.
If you're in really confined space with it, not bad.
My PC right now is so dusty.
Look at this thing.
Oh, God.
I don't even get it.
Yeah.
This thing was kind of in storage.
This was, so this was the old podcast PC.
Oh.
It was at our old office, and I didn't use this PC for four years, I want to say.
It was just there, like, just sitting behind me like these two are.
And then when we moved to our new office, I used the podcast PC as my main PC,
and now the old podcast PC is my current podcast PC.
So I got to follow this advice and clean this one of these days because it's really dusty.
Lord Emmy, on a laptop, is it recommended?
Yes, yes.
Definitely you can clean a laptop.
I would just use a compressed air go-to, especially, you know, like when you opened a laptop.
top, the bottom of it, definitely open that and try to clean out if they have fans down there
because especially if you're like having it on your bed or on your desk, that tends to suck up
a lot of dustin.
Try to clean those off.
How often to clean PCs depends.
Ecologic Caesar also asked, what are the differences between quiet airflow and static pressure
fans?
And the difference is static pressure fans are more for radiators and airflow are more for
case.
I guess how often to clean your PC, it really depends on your setup.
Like if you have your PC on the floor, on the carpet, and you have two dogs and you
smoke cigarettes, you probably want to keep your PC, like, clean.
You're probably going to clean it like every month or so.
If you have your PC on top of your desk in a will.
ventilated space, not next to a window where, you know, it's maybe like every six months or maybe even every year.
So it just depends on how your PC is situated.
So just keep a close eye on it.
Most PCs have transparent side panels so you can look inside and see how dusty it is.
Do you recommend air dusters for PC vandis?
Yeah, like compress air canisters.
All you need.
You give it on for like a couple bucks at like Home Depot.
or target or something like that.
Why can't it be next to a window?
You can have it next to a window.
That's not the issue.
You can have your PC next to a window.
It's just you'll have to clean up more because if it's, you know,
if you have the window open and dust is coming in,
you'll probably have to clean them more.
And also like, depending on what's on the other side of that window,
let's say it's a busy road.
And you have cars driving by all day long,
just kicking brake dust into your room.
Like, what do you think is going to go inside your PC?
It's all that dust.
So it just depends on how your PC is situated.
You could definitely have it by a window, but it might not be ideal.
Actually, the next tip kind of goes along with what we've been talking about.
Yeah, this is actually a huge thing that I actually never realized and thought about.
Don't clean your PC in the same room that's normally in.
This will make sure that the same dust doesn't get back into your PC.
It also helps to make sure it's off when you do it.
This actually, I never thought about this.
Like, if you just, like, do a quick dusting with the PC in it,
unless you, like, move that dust away, it's just going to come back into it.
So you should probably take this away and put it, like, outside and dust it and stuff like that.
That actually, very smart.
Yeah, I never thought about that.
I never thought about that.
I was like, wait, that's actually really smart.
Like, if you just dust it, the dust just settles back onto, like, the desk,
and it's just going to get sucked back up again.
So, yeah, that's actually really good.
Dev, I think I can, I can probably share this out.
You know, maybe I'll send a link out so that everyone can kind of look at this later if you need tips.
Yeah, I think this is like third person that has asked,
is there a way to take a look at these videos after the stream?
And the answer is no, for whatever, I guess we don't save the videos because when we
first started this podcast in 2018, believe it or not. It was just audio. It was not even video.
Like we didn't even stream it. So it was just like an audio only podcast. And then when we switch to
video, we just never decided like if we're going to back up all these videos and publish the
videos. So unfortunately, we don't have the video. But we do save all the audio. If you just go to our
blog and go to the
podcast category.
You can get access to
every single episode.
Also on SoundCloud,
Spotify, and Apple,
iTunes. Like, all the episodes are there.
So, audio, at least.
Maybe we should start saving these videos, Mike.
Maybe we should, actually. I think I do
have recordings, so maybe I can throw them up somewhere.
Okay, go for it.
While I'll try to see if I can send a link out,
do you want to take a look?
From Microwaved, when turning off your computer, you should turn the power supply button off instead of doing it in the Windows bit when you're using it.
Let me reread this because I don't think I understand.
When turning off your computer, so pushing power, I guess, you should turn the power supply button off instead of doing it in the Windows bit when you're using it.
Oh, basically, instead of going to, like, the bottom right, like, power off.
Yeah.
Like, to, instead of, like, doing that, sometimes it's better to use, uh, to use the power supply.
I don't, I don't think this is a good tip.
I was thinking it was mainly for people that need to, uh, remove their, their PC.
You should turn off your power supply before you remove it.
I guess if you're going to be, like, moving your PC or,
Yes, but I mean, I don't necessarily think it's a good tip because there's a lot of times where I'll shut down my PC and then I'll get a warning message.
You know, you're running such and such application or your PC is doing this or that or you're in the middle of a download.
Are you sure you want to turn it off?
And I'm like, oh, no, I am not sure.
I don't want to turn it off.
I think if you just turn it off, I flip in the power supply, you know, you might damage something.
So I don't necessarily think there's a good tip in that scenario,
but maybe if you are, I don't know,
taking your PC apart or something, and sure, why not?
But overall, I don't know, microwave.
This is kind of a weird tip.
Of Rona, Windows being Windows sometimes set the sound output
as lower than whatever the maximum is of your sound solution.
So go to your sound output settings,
make sure your frequency and bit depth is as high as possible.
This actually is a huge one, especially for people that have good headsets or good speakers.
Big, big tip.
I think actually, let me double check your mind as well.
Audio settings on computers are so confusing.
They're so confusing.
Let me check my sound mixer, just make sure.
Yeah, especially when you're streaming like this because we're recording this through
Discord streaming on Twitch on a computer with, you know,
the switch mix connected to everything
and then the microphone.
And there's like six different audio settings
or six different devices, I guess,
you can say that are writing audio.
And like, I feel like every time
every time we go about to go live,
like it's always something like, hey, like I can't barely hear you.
I got to turn this up, turn this down.
It's audio settings are the worst.
Oh, from Rafi.
It's best to use the highest rate possible
sticks to 44.1 or 48 kilohertz.
There you go.
huge one if you want to read this one Ivan
from you're not Luis
make sure to reinstall discord
as you might have the 32 bit version installed
you can see that by going to settings and scrolling down
if it says host blah blah blah blah
x86 reinstall so
I have no idea this is a good or bad tip
because I don't know what's going to happen if you have the 32 bit
version installed. Do you know what happens?
I think it just doesn't run
well, if I remember correctly.
I remember reading this a while ago, people going
like, oh, by the way, if you download
Discord a while ago,
reinstall it because there's a bunch of
issues with it, basically.
I remember reading this all over
Twitter. Oh, yeah, there it is.
It can crash more. Thank you. Thank you. That's
what it was. I just remember seeing
people on Twitter like, hey, make sure to read it, download
Discord. I made sure to make sure that I
have the 64-bit one.
Um, so sorry.
Yeah, 64 bit one.
Is it true that if your fan spin when you clean, it is bad for your motherboard?
I would definitely recommend powering off your PC before clean.
Yeah.
Then it's, I clean my PC in the worst possible way.
Do not do what I do because it could damage your components,
but I literally will take all the panels off and get a leaf blower and just spray everything.
But you're not supposed to do that.
No.
Apparently it's pretty bad.
But like I was saying earlier, I am kind of spoiled by working here because my mentality is always like, well, if I break something, I'll just get something new from the office, you know?
And probably not the best way of doing things.
I probably should take better care of my PC, but that is literally how I do it because it's quick.
Oh, I see some of the things.
Discord uses ChromeMe as the base.
So each server you're in is like having a Chrome tab open running 64 version uses less resources.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Great tip.
This one, I, so learn to embrace the power of keyboard shortcuts.
It helps so much from GamerSai.
I actually have a list.
We're not going to go through all these.
Don't worry.
But for those I hear, you can take a screenshot or look at this.
These are awesome, awesome.
What's it called?
Keyboard shortcuts that I use all the time.
Obviously, control C, control V.
And then all F4 will boost your FPS, right?
Yeah, Alt F4, ability system 32.
Also, if you tap the shift key five times really fast, it will overclock your CPU.
Did you know that?
I hate you.
I hate sticky keys so much.
So what is the point of sticky keys?
I actually don't even know.
I just remember clicking it a bunch and then going to do-da sound and I'm like freak out.
I'm like, oh, God, what is this?
The whole point is to mess with your coworkers, man.
Every time I walk by someone's PC and they leave it on, instead of lock.
locking it and keeping them safe.
I'll just press the shift key five times really fast and then walk away.
And then,
you know,
when they come back to their PC like 10 minutes later and they're like,
what the heck's wrong on my PC?
I just smile and go,
let me,
let me fix that for you.
Kid some.
Kid some.
Dude,
kid some in a chat.
Literally,
I agree.
My craft baby know about sticky keys.
Don't,
I can't imagine how many times I,
God dang hit like shift just trying to sprint or do something.
And then it goes,
do do and then I hear Minecraft doing it
is so annoying
if your account is actually going down
some people may have actually click F more
oh no
unlike my FPS
but these are some really awesome ones
also for those that
do have YouTube a huge thing that you can do on
YouTube if you are a YouTube viewer like me
you can I think
the back and
so you can do the arrow keys for
like YouTube videos if you click on it
You can, uh, left and right goes, I think, by six seconds, if I remember correctly, up and down, just a volume.
But you can also do J, K and L.
Uh, J goes by 10 seconds.
L goes forward 10 seconds.
And K is a pause.
Huge, huge thing that I remember seeing someone in the comments do.
And I've always used it ever since.
Also, space bar pauses, right?
Base bar, obviously.
That's a big one.
Uh, oh yeah.
You know, I never knew.
Windows, so I always knew Control Alt delete
equals the brings up
the menu and then you click Task Manager, right?
I did not know that you could just do was a
Control Alt escape if I remember correctly.
And then, oh, Control Shift escape. There it is.
You don't have to do Control Alt Delete. Yep, there it is.
That middle one. I never do that.
Did not know that.
There's so many good keyboards for it.
There's so many. There's so many.
M to mute, numbers to move around on the timeline.
Yep, one, two, three.
three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten is based on the sections.
Super cool.
Honestly, I, I've been doing a lot of these new ones.
I've been actually trying to, uh, uh, like, practice some of these keyboards.
And I love it.
Uh, for me, I, I, I use the window shift left, right to move between my three monitors.
It's really helpful.
Yeah.
Um, okay.
And then the final tip, I think the most, the most important one.
more RGV more
RPS. I think it's a proven fact now.
Yeah.
I guess the other one would be
Skins equal wins.
What else?
Skins equals wins.
You can download more RAM.
Yes.
All right.
So this has been the thing.
I'll see if I can send up the link later,
but we have still have a little bit of time.
Ivan,
I want to try a new thing.
I want to try a new thing.
section.
Yeah.
So I've wanted to do this for a while.
It's kind of just like a fun little side game.
And everyone in the comments can,
you guys can also participate as well.
I want to talk about
what are the top highest rated games of all time.
So out of,
I'm just, we're going to just go up to 10,
1 through 10.
And I want you to try to guess
what are the highest rated games of all time.
And everyone in the comments,
want you guys also to practice too because like it some of these are very surprising and honestly
I don't agree with a lot of these uh all just PC or console all time all time this is based on
metacritic and every single score given by like a large multitude of of publishers and critics
okay all time so for sure we're going to have GTA 5 on
GTA 5
GTA 5 is number 10 on this list
I knew the top 10 at least
Yeah but number 10 really
We're gonna also have
Red Dead Red Dead Redemption 2
Yeah that is number 9
That I probably use good at number 9
Okay we're also going to have
Super Mario Odyssey
Super Mario Odyssey is not on this list
Really?
There is a Super Mario on it.
Actually, there's two Super Mario's on it.
Mario Bros. 3.
No, Super Mario Bros. 3 is not on this list.
We're also going to have...
What's the first Zelda game on Switch?
Oh, just a...
Oh, on a Switch.
Breath of the Wild.
Breath of the Wild should be on there.
Breath of the Wild is number 6.
Okay.
Number 6.
Which I think should be a little.
a little higher.
I know you hate the game, Ivan.
It's a walking simulator for me.
We're also going to have, I guess, I mean, I know one of the most played, but maybe
not the most rated.
I don't know.
Maybe Minecraft.
Minecraft, surprisingly, isn't even in the top, like, 50, if I remember reading correctly,
which is crazy.
One of the most sold games of all time is not even in the top 50, I remember.
Yeah.
Let's see.
I think maybe...
There are two super...
Someone said in the chat for sure.
Grant Dept Auto 4 as well.
GTA 4 is number 3 on the list.
You said there's two Mario's on there.
There's two Super Mario games on it.
Honestly, very surprising.
Very, very surprising.
And it's not Odyssey.
It is not Odyssey.
Odyssey is considered like, you know, number one Switch.
I loved Odyssey.
but yeah, very surprised.
Oh, Super Mario Artisies actually
13 on the list.
Oh, okay, that was close.
Number one
will be
is it my
favorite game, Super Mega Baseball?
No, it is not, sadly.
How could
the Zelda game not be on there?
There is a Zelda game on here, though.
Oh, there is. There is
one game.
Ben, is it, I don't know, man.
I think I'm stumped.
So, I see a couple people at thinking Super Mario Bros.
No, surprisingly, number four.
Ocarina of Time.
Ocarina Time, there you go.
Ocariah Time is number one, which very surprising, in my opinion,
I thought Majora's mask would be better because it's much more, you know,
Well known, but
Okary Tandom is still great game.
Just number one of all time.
I had a 99 metascore.
Great game.
Don't get me wrong.
I just thought I like Majores Massacre.
But the Super Mario games,
this is where I'm like,
this makes me feel weird about this list.
Super Mario Galaxy is at number four.
Great game.
Great game.
I love Super Mario Galaxy.
But the weird one is that Super Mario Galaxy.
2 is number 5.
That's interesting.
See, I was just like, okay, Super Mario Galaxy, great game.
This is a Metacritics list, best games of all time.
What's the score on that?
Number of Super Mario Galaxy 5, or so I'm sorry,
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is ranked number 5 at 97 in the score.
And what's the Super Mario Odyssey score?
Super Mario Odyssey is 97 at 13.
I mean, I couldn't that,
they have the same score,
why is it?
I think it's just ranked a little bit lower
in like some areas.
It also deals,
it also accounts for user scores as well.
So that may be kind of skewing the list a little bit.
Okay.
Yeah,
that's the,
that's the weird one.
So,
um,
a couple of these games,
not many people have played.
Um,
I have not played two of these games.
One of them is a very,
very famous skater.
Oh,
Tony Hawk Crow Skater.
You never played that?
No, I play pro skater three.
I play pro skater three.
That is at number seven.
Number two.
That game was, I mean, arguably,
yeah.
The biggest game.
I mean, when it came, when Tony Hawk Pro Skater was awesome.
Pro Skater 3 was one of my favorite games of all time.
Yeah.
All right.
So for number two and eight, I have never played these before, but I know of it.
Number two, sole caliber.
Wow.
That's a throwback.
From September 8th, 1999, out of score of 98 metascore.
I used to play that on my Dreamcast.
Hey.
Not in high school.
Okay.
I don't know this game, but it, I mean, it's critically acclaimed.
At number eight is perfect dark on an N64.
That's a
It's like an FPS right?
I think so
I have actually never played this game before
Perfect dart
I think it
And 64
Let me see if I could pull it up
I want to say it was an FPS game
Kind of like golden eye
Oh
Yeah here it is
It's like a
You know I'll do this
So it's a little easier to see your cameras
Yeah it looks like it's like a first person shooter
It kind of reminds me of Doom a little bit.
I remember this game.
It was the competition for Golden Eye.
Honestly, I'm very surprised that Golden Eye didn't beat Perfect Dark
because I knew Golden Eye, and I played Golden Eye before.
But I've never played or even heard of, honestly, Perfect Dark.
See?
Let me see I could pull up the games of all time.
See, you guys.
So you know, I'm not lying around.
Yeah, Legends out of Ocary and a...
time we got sole caliber gtta 4 super maro galaxy super maro galaxy two very surprising i never seen
i never thought a uh uh super margallsy two would be on this uh legend is zelda breath
of wild pro skater three perfect dark red dead redemptor two deserved and gta five also
very well deserved i'm gonna play all of these this weekend i just thought this was uh this
a fun one because like i read this list and i went this is an odd list
So, yeah, very weird, but very cool.
All righty.
I think we'll go into announcements,
and we'll give you guys the code to win a poochy plush.
By the way, for those I don't know,
NCC, go to an estimation point giveaway in chat.
We are giving way a little poochy plush right now,
and we're going to give you guys a code for it.
But, Ivan, I think we have a couple announcements before we get into it.
Yes, so the first two announcements are we have recently announced two
new partnerships.
The first partnership is with Travis Gafford.
For those that don't know who Travis Gafford is, or maybe you do know, he is the host of a very
popular show called Hotline League, all about League of Legends.
So we are powering their next 50 episodes.
So follow at Travis Gafford on social media, and whenever they go live, you can tune in and
get your League of Legends fixed there.
The next bit of news here is we just announced this yesterday, actually.
We are now partnered with FlightQuest.
So we are powering the FlyQuest squad here.
And if you're a League of Legends fan, the FlightQuest League team is now known as FlightQuest NZT.
So I was telling Mike, he actually has to start playing League of Legends again.
I literally quit League of Legends.
And then now that we're like sponsoring these, I'm like, well, not to get back into it.
I'm going to rep FlyQuest now.
So let's go FlyQuest.
Time to fly.
I'm going to change my name to Flyben.
FlyVin.
Or FlyVin, DXT.
I like that.
Yes.
All righty.
Let's see.
Oh, we just released a couple of new things for those that are here.
We just launched an 8-7 flow.
I actually just swap my case into it, and it's awesome right now.
It's an A-SIFO.
It utilizes a vertical PSU layout.
420 millimeters, a 420,
radiar capacity in the front,
and it also has 360 millimeter capacity on the top and bottom.
Case is awesome.
One of our best performing cases so far,
so this is going to be pretty dope.
We just launched an RGB core single frame fans as well.
They're really easy to saw.
I actually showed a,
I actually just did a video of it.
I'm going to edit it soon,
but it took me like 30 seconds.
I literally just put the cable in,
screwed it in,
and then that was it.
Super easy, super easy, done.
Takes no time you don't have to be each individual fan and cable.
So easy.
Yeah, and honestly surprised that all fans aren't.
like this now because it's really annoying to do each individual fan.
We launched some new power supplies. We launched a platinum and gold
PSUs. The golds,
up to 1,200, 1,200 or 1,200 or 1,200
or 1,200, or 1,200 can actually come in white.
White PSUs. Never thought I want that, but white PCs are pretty dope.
And then the platinum PSU, the 1,500 watt,
digital controlled ATX 3.1 compliant and PCIE 5.1 connected and has a magnetic levitation fan for better airflow.
I remember someone in the chat talked about what are the difference between quiet airflow and static pressure.
Like I haven't said, quiet airflow is mainly for like the case static pressure mainly for the radiator.
Lots of new fans.
These fans are awesome.
Optimized blades.
Chamferred frame.
Really good.
We just launched NCXT Flex

From VT phase,
do you see the dust on a white PC chassis,
like really bad?
Not really, actually.
I mean,
I have some fans here that aren't the cleanest,
but honestly,
you can't really tell the dust too bad.
Just clean it every couple,
a couple weeks
every couple months
and you'll be fine.
I really can't notice
that's really bad.
