Hello, everyone, and welcome to episode 216, the NCC podcast, the official podcast of the N60 community.
This podcast scored live on Fridays at 10 a.m. Pacific Center time on the official NCC Twitch is available to stream on demand on Apple Podcast, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
My name is Mike.
And before I introduce our very, very special guests, I just want to give two quick little shoutouts.
We are doing currently a hoodie, shirt, and mouse pad giveaway, all Intel items, which is really, really, really.
cool. It is US only. I'm working on the global one terrain now. So those that are waiting,
please be wary that I'm working on it. And also, I am currently wearing an NSXT Intel Club shirt.
For those that do not know, we have a club. And basically, Intel is gracious enough to help
sponsor us for that. You guys can go to nzxte.co.co slash club or Sclamation point club in chat.
You guys can earn poochie points, which is our little coin and our little poochie mascot.
He's somewhere in the back behind me.
Oh, yeah, there he is right here.
And you guys can earn points by doing Quest.
And through that, you guys can enter into giveaways from plushies to shirts to a monthly PC giveaway.
So really dope that we can give a PC every month.
So please go to n60.com slash club to enter in.
And I think that is all day not so before I get into it.
Yes, I think I definitely should get a poochy-twitch email.
I'm working on that ASAP.
But now I want to introduce our very, very, very special guests.
Introducing one of the most influential voices in the custom keyboard and PC building world today.
He is the man who proved that premium tech aesthetics can belong to anyone and everyone.
He's a champion of the thock, the master of ASMR, clickety clacks,
and the undisputed architect of the tactile.
Introducing John John Tech.
John, can you please introduce yourself to our audience?
tell us what you're all about.
Hey, what's up guys?
Thank you so much for tuning in.
Happy Friday.
Mike, thank you so much for the glazing.
You're glazing already.
Oh, yeah.
As early as now, crazy.
All right.
My name is John John.
I go by John John Tech.
I've been making content on the side.
I actually work a nine to five.
So I do this on the side as my passion project.
After work, I got to make videos.
I got a game.
I got to do what I love, right?
So I've been posting.
in videos since quarantine or COVID times and we're here today.
All I do is build PCs, keyboards, and I post, post.
Seriously, like, you're probably one of the biggest influencers that we've had on
this show in general.
Yeah.
No way.
Yeah, I mean, all across your, what, you're pretty much close to, no, you are like a million
followers across all your platforms, correct?
I think if you add everything together, yeah, it's over a million, just a little bit.
Yeah, you're definitely one of the biggest.
influence we have, which is I'm like, this is awesome.
Wow.
Those here that, you know, everyone here's like, oh, I want, you know, to do all these
unboxing videos or get free stuff from companies.
This is the guy to learn from right here.
So stay tuned for all these questions.
Yeah, you're going to get a lot of can I get a free X, Y, Z from these guys.
So just get ready.
It's part of course.
Yes.
Always yes.
Yes.
Yes.
So let's go into the back.
So this is going to go to your childhood early days.
So first of all, how did you get into gaming in general?
And was there like a person in your life that got you hooked into it?
Or was it like a game that got you hooked?
Yeah, yeah.
So I grew up very close to my older brother.
And my very first console, Game Boy Color, Red version, Pokemon.
yeah I mean that's already retro gaming to me but it's it's a classic so that's what kick
started I want to say my gaming career it started with Pokemon then Sega you know you can't
go wrong with Sonic then you get the Nintendo 64 oh my gosh super smash brothers okay I grew up
with three other siblings so super smash brothers with four controllers that's all we that's all we did
That's what I that's my childhood was Super Smash Brothers and then the GameCube and then the PlayStation.
PlayStation was a totally different breed, but at the same time, you're just like, it's not just
Mario anymore.
Now you're getting into Metal Gear Solid.
You're getting into Metal of Honor.
Oh, well, actually, Medal of Honor was PC, but bottom line is it eventually evolved into console
gaming to PC.
And I have shout out to my older brother for kind of leading the path of, um,
He's since he's the eldest brother
Um
Us three younger siblings would just follow him and he would
He would just pave the way.
There's just four player games.
Uh, uh, the Wii.
The Wii has, you know, a bunch of co-op games.
So.
Oh man.
That was awesome.
And I also saw that in the thing that we sent you.
You got super, super super super into MMOs.
So which ones are you interested in?
Oh, okay.
So MMOs.
As soon as I got my PC, it was Roonscape at first, and this was like prime middle school.
Rootcape, Maple Story, and Guild Wars.
I was not, I didn't get that $15 subscription for wow because that was just way too much back in the day.
But Runescape, Maple Story, and Guild Wars, I can play those games for 16 hours straight and not even bad an eye.
It's, it was bad.
What about MMOs, like, make you?
you want to like play and grind for so many hours.
To this day, I still can't answer that question.
But I think it was, it was just so simple back in the day.
Because if you look at like Guild Wars 2 today, there's just too much features.
There's too much stuff to do.
Guild Wars like, the, Guild Wars 1, there was, it kind of just had like a guideline that you can follow.
And then you can kind of like Skyrim.
Then you can just do like side quests.
and it was that simple.
Nowadays, I just feel like there's just too much stuff to do
where you lose interest.
Okay, okay, yeah.
I got into Warframe when I was in high school
and, you know, it's big grindy, destiny game and everything like that.
And I was like, man, at first I hated the idea
like spending hours and hours just trying to do this one thing
and you're trying to find this one item for like three hours and you don't get it.
I'm like, why would anyone want to do that?
And then I got it to it.
And I'm like, I understand now.
I fully understand it.
Do you remember a time where you spent a long time trying to find like a specific like item or a quest reward or something like that?
Do you remember one?
It wasn't really a item.
It was more of a mission and quest where, you know, you get to the final boss and they're supposed to like,
something.
I forgot the exact thing, but it was a green weapon in Guild Wars.
And the drop rate, according to GuildWiki, because Wiki was always the best, you know,
go-to platform to find information, it's a 20% drop, meaning that if I do this five times,
I'm guaranteed at least one, right?
20%.
That's simple math.
I think I did the thing over 100 times.
Yeah, yeah.
I think I did the same mission over a hundred times, did not get it once.
Did not get it once.
I had to buy it.
You had to buy it?
I used my currency.
I was like, no, I'm done with this mission.
I'm done.
Nope.
20% chance that he couldn't get it over 100 times.
What?
I don't even know.
I don't think that was accurate because, I mean, I was living testimony of I did the same
mission a hundred times on hard mode and it didn't drop.
How long did it take to do each mission?
roughly like 20, 30 minutes, depending on how good you are.
I sped run the thing.
But it was just, it's just annoying because you're just like,
I'm, my brain is rotting, literally,
doing the same thing over and over.
And for what?
I was questioning my life at that time.
Oh, boy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So out of all the games, including the MMOs,
what was like the number one?
Was it Gills Wars?
Would that be your number one game doing your childhood?
Yeah.
RuneScape.
Maple Store and Guild Wars.
I think I equally distributed my time between the three somehow.
Again, when you're a kid,
I think you just have all the time in the world.
You don't realize how much time you can actually dump into gaming when you're a kid.
And you're like, oh my God, I would sit like,
like I would wake up at like six or seven in a morning.
Oh, God.
Yeah, yeah.
And then I played the entire day and I go,
You don't see the sun.
Yeah.
I'm like, I used to do that.
I don't know how I did that before.
Exactly. Yeah, yeah. Okay, you understand. You're a gamer. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You talked a little bit about it, and I know some people in the chatter, into older era. I'm not trying to call you guys old. But do you remember the specs of your first PC? Yep. Ready? No, I'm trying to remember mine. Oh, okay. Shoot, I care not remember. Yeah, go for it real quick. I think I even have a picture of it, but it's in the archives. It was an I-5. It's Intel. I-5. It's Intel. I-5.
it was called the raptor lake and i think it was like a 1550 processor and then the graphics card
was an eva 50 50 50 t i gt x before r tx it was called gt x 50 50 50 t i and that was like the
creme of the cram graphics card at the time you can find it at office depot and staples it was
literally on the bottom and and it had just like uh if you if you remember the packaging on those
things, they look fake. They look like a bootleg, uh, cardboard box that someone just printed
some sort of label on it, but that's a graphics card. And that was my very first, I guess,
big spend on my gaming career. Oh, I'm pulling up some photos of this. Let's, let's see who can, uh,
Oh, R-P-E-G-A, EVGA, yeah, 50TI. Look at, look at this, look at this, look at this
Oh my God.
Nistalgia.
Single fan,
50, 50,
TI.
Oh,
six,
I can buy for $29.
$29?
I'm buying this.
It's $29?
I'm buying this,
yo.
This is a blast from the past.
Oh, my gosh.
Man,
I think I was around the same way.
I think I was like a 50,
I think it was a 570 for mine first PC.
Okay.
In a big old black power spec box.
Oh,
little times.
Do you remember the times where you would click the button on the PC and it will take like a minute to load up so you like go like go to the bathroom or go get like a snack and come back?
Like I was in the behind.
If you're talking about dial up, yeah, you can you can go to the bathroom.
You can make a coffee.
You can check the mail.
You can do a lot of things before the internet explorer shows up.
Yeah.
Kids these days don't know how easy it was.
Like they turn on it turns on immediately
I'm like oh you don't know the struggle
It's
Mind you
So I grew up in a family of six
You they had to get off the phone too
So I don't know if you remember
But you have to hang up the phone
And then get on the internet
You can't use both at the same time
Yeah
Oh gosh PTSD is like
Like
Well tech tech has
Tech has like
Evolved so much
But I guess that's a good
Segway into
this. So for those that don't know, like seriously, yeah, I see it to follow John John on social.
Seriously, check out his page, man. Like, there is so much awesome and good information.
So I want to kind of go into that because I know some people want to be where you are right now.
What inspired you to really start a page?
So small creators, and I remember, I remember, I remember my inspiration.
at the time because it wasn't that long ago. It was during quarantine. Small creators is what
inspired me to make videos. So the shout out to the creator. His name is Lowe. He's actually
100 Thieves Low now. He built and upgraded his PC gradually and he was also a streamer at the time.
So he made it like look fun and and it as it should be building your PC's fun. So he inspired me to
make videos similar to that and on top of that he was also educated.
communicating new builders on, you know, what's good, what's not, what's, you know, price to performance.
Simple stuff like that that I wish I knew when I built my first PC.
So it's simple, smaller creators that, you know, need to support because simply liking and maybe even commenting goes a long way.
So doing stuff like that, you know, for me it was low.
it it spiked a friendship it spiked hey i you know you inspired me to make videos and here we are
doing the kind of the same thing in a sense so kind of a full circle type thing so i want to i'm
i want to pull up your first ever video that you posted on ticot oh my god all right i i don't do this
i got i i always do a little a little digging into for uh for these uh things so let's let's take a look
to this was March 24th of 20 this is like what this is like the early days of quarantine even the
mass and everything like that let's see oh it's you picking up a Nintendo switch hey it's
oh oh oh oh the Animal Crossing special edition Nintendo Switch oh yeah or is it a regular one
I think this one may have been a regular one.
No, this one looks like a regular one.
Yeah, that's the one I bought for my niece and nephew.
Yeah.
I was just like, this is the, wow.
And then you look at the videos to this day.
It's crazy how times have changed.
So like, how different was TikTok during like the COVID quarantine era to like how it is now?
Everyone was on it.
Everyone was on TikTok.
And when I say everyone, I mean,
like there wasn't there wasn't like 10 minutes where you're not on tic-tok because you're stuck in
your house and it's either you know yeah you want to learn another new recipe you want to try a
DIY project everyone was learning and just consuming content on tic-tok and the other apps were
just dead so it was way different during the quarantine times on tic-tok and again i i i i
I never thought that I would pick up a camera and make videos.
But TikTok itself and again, the small creators inspired me to actually just do something and talk to the camera.
And that's the hardest thing at first.
But once you get over that hoop, you're unstoppable.
It really was a different time back then.
I mean, I see someone saying Animal Crossing and COVID.
Like it was, man, I spent hours upon hours on my island, you know, doing this.
And I did not time skip, but I wish I did because I would have played a lot more.
I held true, but I kind of wish I did the time skip thing.
But, oh, man, that was a different time.
And also during this time, you started posting some gaming videos as well.
You playing Valorand and everything like that, like.
So I tried streaming.
Yeah.
I tried streaming and streaming is hard.
Streaming is like, if you're going to stream for hours and hours of people watching your gameplay,
not to mention you have to be like entertaining, smiling and reading chat while locking in.
Those guys are built different.
I give it a try.
And ultimately, I found more passion.
I found more happiness making videos rather than...
live entertainment.
Can I say that?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So how long did you stream before you started making into more like tech and like
unboxing videos?
Like how long did that take?
I gave it a year.
I had like a strict streaming schedule and I gave it a year.
And I mean, if I tried it again, I would definitely change a bunch of things.
But ultimately it's content.
Content is king.
You can be streaming for three hours to 12 hours.
It doesn't matter.
If you're not making content, it's not going to help you grow.
So content was definitely king,
and I should have focused more on content rather than the streaming itself.
Gotcha.
So after this time,
you actually started to make more videos about like,
I saw you talking a little bit about Lowe and how he like slowly upgrade his computer.
And I see that you also did the same thing like you're like 72 memory usage and you started like up doing some upgrades to it like installing new RAM and you know getting all these other stuff.
How has your content like what made you decide to go, you know what I'm going to evolve this content into more like a face forward.
Like this is how I'm going to do like like tutorial type of videos.
Ooh.
Okay.
Okay.
To answer the first question, my computer was horrible at the time.
It was a AMD 8350 or FX 8350, which was a super like heat.
It conducts a lot of heat.
It was the processor that overheats all the time.
And then it was a 9070, RTCX or GTX 9070 or 970.
It's not even a 90s.
970.
So at the time, the 30 series cards were.
just about to come out. Oh, wow. So I'm three generations behind and I said, yeah, it's time to
upgrade. So that was the biggest push for me to start upgrading. Once I started upgrading my
PC, I got the parts and I said, hey, I'm not just going to unbox and build it. Let's turn
the camera on and start practicing talking to the camera. And man, it was so bad. It was so, again,
if you're watching my earlier videos, you can tell I'm getting awkward or it's like, I don't know
what to say so I just start yapping random stuff and again you're just going to have to get over that
hoop if you really want to become a consecrator you're just going to have to just post just do it
every video that you post your next one's going to be better I promise you that's true that is very true
I mean I forgot like public speaking is like one of the top fears like on top of like heights
and spiders and snakes and everything like that yeah like is your idea of just like getting over it just
keep doing it or did you have like tips like how to get over like talking to basically you're
talking to yourself in front of a camera so how do you how do you get over that yeah it's it's definitely
more practice um there's there's other creators that go through the same thing and that the inspiration
that the first person that i guess really pushes you to start recording watch their videos watch how
they also evolve and it's it's it's kind of it's definitely inspiration
but it also motivates you to try out new things, whether it's, you know, you got to project,
you got to try to enunciate. You have to talk a little slower or faster to pick up the pace
because sometimes, especially in short form, you got to keep that retention. You got to keep their
attention going. The first three seconds is the most important. Otherwise, you're just going to scroll.
That is very true. The game that hook is really important. Like the video that you made for us we were
talking about is, you know, getting a pre-build is better than building it.
And everyone goes, whoa, whoa, wait, what?
Yeah, whoa, whoa, I'm getting flamed right now.
Yeah, it's like it hooks you on and that's probably one of the most important things.
Right.
It's kind of going along with that, one of your first viral videos was this 8KQ LED TV.
Like, this is one of your first ever videos.
And I love this, I love the crouch that you're doing right here.
Like, I love that.
Model posing.
Yeah, like what, like, this is like one of your first like videos to get over hundreds of thousands of views.
Like, first of all, how did it feel to see this thing blow up?
And also, how do you feel that it blew up because it was just the size of the TV?
You're like, what is this thing?
Yeah, yeah.
How did it feel?
It felt surreal.
It's hard to explain how it felt, mainly because I thought it was fake.
Again, TikTok at time.
Everyone was on TikTok.
The first 100 views, you're just like, cool, I got 100 views.
Then there's a comma and you're like, that's a thousand now.
And then 10,000.
And you're like, oh, people are liking my videos.
And then you start reading the comments.
The comments are just like, how tall is this guy?
This box is way bigger than this guy.
And then, yeah, the poses that you're seeing, super awkward.
But it kind of ties into what I'm trying to, I guess, convey is you have to get
comfortable in front of the camera.
You're not always going to be
like that. IRL. I mean, I guess
people have that personality,
but what I'm saying is
have fun with it.
Is the purpose
of these videos. Because if
once you start making it like, I got to do
this, this and this, you're going to not
like it. You're going to not like what you do.
Very true.
Someone to chat goes, can you even see
8K?
That's one of the comments there. If you keep reading those
comments, you're like, is there even 8K content nowadays?
And I'm like, no, but it's nice to future proof, right?
Yeah.
Oh, that's going to be a great question out of a row about future proofing.
I have a question about that later because I know that gets into some heated arguments
and everything like that.
So, you know, you posted, you know, you getting a switch during quarantine.
You got gaming videos.
You started streaming for a bit.
then you posted this video of a TV.
And then this is when you actually really started making keyboards.
So this video was the GK61.
This is like one of your first ever like building your keyboard videos.
So like, first of all, what about keyboards is like super fun that you're like, this is going to be my niche to like, why did you fully go into it?
Yeah.
Yeah. So again, during quarantine, before that, sorry, I work a nine to five. I think I mentioned that already. During quarantine, a lot of workers, a lot of the workforce people had to convert from going from an office job to a work from home job. So people were in the market of buying a desk, a desktop PC, and then peripherals, they need a keyboard, mouse, monitor, you name it.
The keyboard is what, I mean, I'm going to go back, I'm going to go back on a tangent again.
Customizing your keyboard from the ground up is like customizing your weapon of choice to get, to tackle the day of emails, you know, working, essentially, right?
So the fact that you can switch out the switches, the key caps and kind of like show off, hey, this is my keyboard.
I thought that was kind of cool versus, I mean, no one really cared.
Like a desk is a desk.
You can only do so much to customize it.
But a keyboard and a PC, I mean, PC, you need like a thousand plus dollars to customize that.
Keyboard, maybe a couple hundred.
Keyboards, I feel like, were the wave at the time because, yeah, the switches and the keycaps were the trend.
And then I type fast.
And that's what kind of kickstarted John John Tech was my typing sound tests.
So people, ASMR, they like the thawkiness, they like the creaminess of the sound.
And people admitted to me, they would DM me and say on my comments, hey, can you do a one-minute
version of this typing test so that way I can fall asleep to it?
And I'm like, yeah, I can do that.
What?
And I guess they just have their phone next to their pillar or something, and it's just like replaying over and over.
I have no idea.
I've never heard of, like, I've heard of ASMR and people, you know, wanting to.
fall asleep.
I never got to keep people falling asleep the keyboard ASMR.
Yeah.
That's interesting.
Wow.
Did you have like that moment of like, man, I actually kind of made it.
Like this is it.
Like was it when you hit like 100,000 followers, 50,000?
Is it when you're starting to ramp up and getting into the tens of thousands?
Not really.
I mean, I'm human because I always.
compare myself to, I mean, like, I just eat, like something like that. But there was no,
there was no time where I was like, I totally made it. No, because I think my human nature is I
always want more. I always want to strive for better, more. I got to work harder, greater, more
efficient. And I think that's just who I am. Wow. So you're always on that like constant like
grind and everything like that.
Yeah, yeah.
I guess that kind of leads into it.
And I know a lot of people here kind of deal with that is like always wanting to grind can lead to burnout.
And like, I don't want to do this today.
Like how do you get over that?
I remember why I got started and that it's, I mentioned this before.
You got to make it fun.
and as soon as you start thinking of it like a business, I need to make money, I need to get free stuff, I need to do this, this and this.
It becomes unenjoyable.
And then that's on top of that.
Why am I doing this?
I don't even want to post or edit or do any of that stuff.
And then you just go into that spiral of not enjoying what you do.
And that's that's the burnout.
No, that's, it's real.
I mean, we're human.
But I say keep it fun.
Always go back to why you did it and why it keeps you happy or why you enjoy doing it.
Oh, man, because that's, you know, everyone says, you know, you do what you love.
You'll never work a day in their life.
Do you still have those times where you're like, man, I really don't want to make this video or like, oh, man, I just want to like sleep in and or, or, I'm just going to play some games.
I don't want to edit.
How do you get over that?
Health is wealth.
Always, always, always put your health, your mental health, too, especially.
Prioritize that.
Always put it first.
So once I have that, you know, I don't want to make a video.
Okay.
Don't make the video.
Unwind, you know, play the games or take that extra or sleep early.
You got to do what you got to do.
and bottom line is it's not necessarily a race
it's more of challenging you know you against yourself
so I don't recommend you always just you know
pushing yourself to post post post
even though I did say that I do
recommend prioritizing the health before anything else
I guess along with that
and I think as like a creator to another creator you know for us
we sometimes value ourselves because of views, right?
Like, oh my God, I hit three million views this week.
I meant I hit one of my videos got over 500,000, you know,
like, you know, all this stuff, right?
So like, you know, in the beginning, you know,
you hit a couple thousand views.
You're like, oh, my God, this is crazy to now, like,
if a video only gets like 2,000 views,
you're like, this is a failure.
How do you protect your,
mental state from getting to that point because it's like you know the algorithm can be so volatile
how do you like keep yourself worth that high because sometimes it feels like I'm a failure if I
only get like X amount of views onto the next.
On to the next.
I wouldn't spend way too much.
I mean you can look at the analytics and understand why it didn't do well and then just
apply it to the next video and then if the next video flops onto the next.
So the creator journey is trial and error.
You can ask anybody that goes viral.
You can ask anybody with a million views, tens of millions views.
They'll always just say, post, go to the next one.
I like that.
I like that a lot.
You know, I think that kind of correlates with the thing is like, just keep posting.
And I think that's like the mensa is just keep moving forward.
Not like you have to post every day.
It's just slowly just keep moving forward.
Don't dwell on it.
You post it.
It's done.
Out of your hands.
Move on.
Keep it going.
Yep.
You know, there are a lot of, you know, we were talking a lot about the mental, the mental state of views and the algorithm and catering to people, right?
You know, you post like that, the AK video.
You know, people are like, yo, you're so short or, oh, this is not a real AK TV.
This is a fake TV.
You don't do it us for likes.
So like what challenges have you faced as a creator?
And especially to this day, like how what challenges have you faced now?
And then like is it is it all mental or do you also get like physical challenges too?
Oh, both, both.
Favor, Mike.
Ask chat.
How old do they think I am?
Hmm.
Oh, yeah.
I think people will be, you know, I think people tend to.
either very overestimate or very underestimate your age, especially for us.
Truthful.
Yeah.
Ask chat.
Yeah.
Ask chat.
Truthfully.
How old do they think about?
32.
Some said 24.
See, it's all over the spectrum.
Yeah.
It's all over the.
So, so what's the average answer that you're seeing?
Thinking like, I don't, I don't have the chat.
Yeah.
I'm thinking he looks so young, so I'm going high.
Oh, okay.
I see that.
So I think, I think you're getting either the range of,
like young 20s or like mid to early 30s.
I think that's the range right now.
I'm 32.
I'm 32.
But if you watch my videos,
the comments will be like,
who the heck is this 12 year old telling me to buy this 5070 TI?
What?
TikTok banned me because when I streamed,
TikTok banned me because I did not reach the age requirement of 16 years old to stream.
What?
And because CEDS was this month.
I got jumped by 11 security guards looking for my ID and thinking my ID is fake.
I was playing blackjack.
I mean, it strokes my ego, but at the same time, it's hard to convey a message like,
hey, I'm about to build this PC, this amazing looking PC.
And then everyone will be like, Daddy's money.
So low key, it hurts, but at the same time, it's like,
they called me a good looking young person, but I'm 32 and.
I'm working so hard to, you know, make these videos for you guys, trying to be educational and stuff.
But here we are.
I'm getting, what's the word?
So there's, there's, how do you, how do you, it's not, it's not miss age.
Is there a word for that?
Like you, you can accurately judge someone's age.
Is there a word for that?
There's no, there's no word for that.
There's probably something out there for that.
Something like that, right?
But that's, that's me right now struggling to, I guess, get into the educational content
without some 21-year-old saying, why is this 12-year-old telling me this random stuff
that he just read off of Reddit or something like that?
So that's one of the challenges.
So that's the physical challenge, I believe, that answers your question.
And then the mental challenge is just, yeah, you know, you got to push forward if your
views don't do well or you know if the the the video that you spend three hours editing for
flop so hard and then the the video that you spend 10 seconds on does well and you question why my
advice to that is don't question why just do just either make the next one or do what makes you
happy which is that 10 second video that that did well right just keep doing those and like that
until you understand the why right that actually is like a perfect segue into like that my
My next section is about dealing with the haters, right?
Okay.
As you grow, as you get an audience, even if you don't have an audience, like, if you get a
one post that goes super viral, you could get it, you get hate, crazy hate for doing
something.
You're like, whoa, whoa, how do you do with that?
Like, I understand it's like, oh, don't listen to it.
But like, everyone can say that, but can you actually just don't listen to them?
Those are the best kinds because that's the engagement you want.
and the perfect example is the NZT
Player 2 Prime build that I just made a couple days ago
that thing is slowly rising
it's like I think got like almost 200K views on TikTok
it has that paid partnership little ad
so haters will just be like
paid partnership he literally said pre-bilts
are cheaper than building your own
it's it's the same thing over and over
and all I'm doing is either reply
lying back saying it's true rampocalypse is you know $500 for a pair of stick of you know two sticks
of ram and then i even made a rebuttal video after that doing a price breakdown of the nz xt player
two prime i took it apart it's it's right next to me there's the the prime 5070 t i was in the player two
here's the motherboard with the 9700 x i did a price part to part breakdown on my next video
flopped as a rebuttal, you know, as a response to everyone saying, it's, this guy's lying.
This guy's spreading misinformation.
But I have it.
Price breakdown.
It came out more than the pre-built because you got to buy a pre-built nowadays to get a good price.
I'm sorry.
It's true.
It's the times have changed, man.
Times have changed.
Times have changed.
Yeah.
I mean, I will always be on to think of like, yeah, you know, I think it is a good thing to
build because then you're learning.
parts about the PC, right?
There's still good benefits of it.
100%.
But I mean...
But if you need a cheaper version of what you're already, you know, planning to buy, pre-built.
And then you can always upgrade down the line.
Assuming that the market gets better.
Exactly.
But we'll get there.
Hopefully we'll get there soon.
I mean, we're feeling it as well.
Here, I had to see.
We're feeling it because they're just like, oh my God, he's ramp.
that I saw there was a 32 gigabyte of like corsair ram that was like upwards of like
$1,500 or something like that.
I went there's no way that's real.
And I look on like, nope, it's real.
100% it's real.
I'm like, oh.
Oh, that's the price of a PC.
That's just the RAM.
That's just the RAM, guys.
Buy a 5080 with that.
You could buy, oh my gosh.
Like, I'm just like this, this hurts.
Like, it physically hurts.
I guess that's, that's also.
a question is like, what do you think the state of PC gaming is going to be like in these next
couple years with AI and, you know, RAM prices and all these stuff in exploding?
Like, how do you feel about it?
Everyone's just going to go back to console gaming.
I mean, which isn't a bad thing.
I mean, I miss the PlayStation days.
I miss the, I mean, if everyone has to hop on to Nintendo Switch 2 to hop on Fortnite, heck, yeah, let's do it.
That'd be fun.
honestly it'll be it's it's simpler it's it's so easy it's simpler yeah yeah i love my switch i just i just
sit down grammar controllers play done you know i don't have to have a keyboard that
discord extension so then you can you can you know talk to your buddies as you're doing it but
i think that's the only thing that console is missing but other than that it serves you know
it still does everything and anything a pc does minus browsing the internet yeah oh man i remember
the old xbox you know party chats and everything like that that was
Yeah, that was, that was, that was, that was what hooked me on.
But if they could find a way, I know there is Discord 4 consoles, but it's not up there yet.
It's not there yet, right, right.
Why not?
Yeah, that's what I'm wondering.
I'm like, this card has been out for years.
Yeah.
Years and years.
I wonder how hard.
I, I assume it's because, like, typing and, like, doing photos and everything like that is super
difficult on a console, so I get that.
But it would be so good if you could.
It would be so nice.
Yeah.
I mean, what my niece and nephew does is.
is they have their phone and then AirPods, one AirPods in,
and then they just go on Discord on their phone,
and then they go to the chat room,
and then they're just like gaming.
So I'm like, dang, times are totally different now.
They're built different.
I'm like, okay, okay, smart.
Oh, I actually had a couple questions that were sent to me
because some of these people want to be like, you know, upcoming creators.
So one question is,
I'm like if I'm looking to get into the creator space into content creation,
unboxings, tech reviews, all these things.
What gear or software should I prioritize first?
I know you could do things just on your iPhone,
but like what should they prioritize first if they had to?
If they want to start editing, Premiere Pro.
I would say Premiere Pro, even though it is a month to month subscription.
has all the bells and whistles you need to make those crazy looking edits.
I mean, again, it can be as simple, like simple edits to crazy edits.
It can do it all.
Versus when I bought, I think it was called Phil Mora.
It was like a one-time price.
I was very limited to editing texts or these little animations of just sliding it across,
like stuff like that.
And I was like, what am I doing wrong?
And it was just the tools that I was researching.
It was just wrong.
So I would say the editing platform, do your research there, whether it's a film cut for Mac
and then Premiere Pro for either Mac or PC.
And then there's even DaVinci.
And DaVinci is actually trending right now because of the bit 10, the color bit 10.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with that.
I'm not familiar with this.
Okay.
So do you know what log is when you film?
Yes, yes.
Eslog?
Yeah, so people will film an S-log, which is like that gray scale-looking thing at first,
and then they input it in DaVinci, and they have access to 10-bit color,
which is the whole thing, and they can make it look so nice.
So that's the advantage of DaVinci.
The downside is you're going to have to go watch YouTube tutorials until you're like really good at it.
Oh, man.
I would say the editing platform.
Actually, that's, that's, is a question.
That's actually a question for me is like, how, what is your process from,
let's say, oh, so we said at you the player two PC, right?
Yeah.
What is your process from like, okay, here's the idea to getting it uploaded?
What's the whole process like?
The script and concept is number one.
If the idea doesn't flow well, then scrap it.
Do it again.
So get the script and concept down first.
And then you film and edit.
but script and concept is everything, whether you have to use your AI friend to help you write the script
or you watch someone else's video to get some inspiration and motivation.
But you get that script and concept, then you make it your own.
You put your personality, you put your own twist to it, you put your ideas and, you know,
it's totally, it's to each their own there.
But once that is done, that's when you start filming.
You get the B roll, the A roll.
If you don't know what that is,
B roll is basically the subject,
just the subject alone.
A role is subject and you, me, us.
So you plan out your B roll and A role that fit with the script.
And then once you have all of that planned out,
that's when you, it makes the editing process so much easier
because you have the script,
and then you have the film and the scene already planned out
what you want to,
show during that part of the video.
So script, film, then edit, post.
Do it again over and over.
So it's engraved in your brain.
I like that.
Oh, okay.
Do you people, so, you know, you're pretty much like one of the experts,
in my opinion, of the keyboard industry.
Like if I want to figure out, like, oh, how.
How does this, you know, how do these keys or switches sound like?
Oh, this, I found an ASMR video of you typing it on and stuff like that.
I could see you like wanted to X percent it, but because you have that expert label to me and to other people, do you feel like that can restrict how you say something?
Or do you try to be as like transparent as possible?
There's definitely restrictions mainly because once you start going into a rabbit hole,
like keyboard hobby or I guess like water cooling,
something that makes it a little more elite.
There are definitely restrictions where you're supposed to be,
I guess,
informing the audience that this is the quote unquote right thing to do
versus like the frowned upon way of doing things.
And for example is keycaps.
There's these $200, $300 key caps called GMK keycaps.
And GMK is a,
company that endorses small designers and makes their designs into keycaps, which means
you're potentially supporting the small creator designer and then GMK company.
And then there's those other companies that mass produce the same design and put it on
Amazon for a fraction of the price. So instead of $200 keycaps, it's now $50 on
Amazon and those are called clones. So in this keyboard industry, you're
supposed to be an advocate for the smaller designer, even though it's $200.
But at the end of the day, it's key caps.
So I could care less if it's the same design.
I can just go on Amazon and buy it for $50.
No one's going to know, right?
So there's restrictions like that.
Yeah.
Okay.
Did I answer that question right?
No, no.
You answered it.
Well, I mean, I get what you're putting down because, like, yeah.
I understand, like, the idea.
There's a right way and then there's a frowned upon way, but it's not the wrong way.
But yeah, I mean, I have different, different strokes for different folks, you know, like,
there we go.
Hey, thank you.
Yeah.
Hey, there we go.
I mean, for the for the purists, you know, you're like, oh, yeah, do this.
But then it's got to be GMK.
Yeah.
But then yeah, people are like, hey, I just, what?
Sound cool and I don't want to break my base.
Yeah.
You know, actually, so, you know, we talked a little bit how you and I, we worked on, like,
getting these videos.
videos and, you know, like you just did the player 2 PC review and everything like that.
So for those of the audience, because I know some people are going to be, you know,
thinking about this, when a brand approaches you, you know, to do a video, like what's the most
important factor when you consider it like before you agree to working together and getting
a video out?
Is it like the creative freedom?
Is it like the product access?
Is it, oh, you have all the time in the world to do it.
Like, what's the number one thing that you would choose?
If I like the product.
If I like the product and if I'll actually use the product.
So if it's, for example, I'll get the same email every single day of these crazy looking earbuds that kind of like loop around your ear.
And they're wireless, but they can also be wired if you want to.
But bottom line is like, do I see myself using that every single?
day probably not so I I ghost them sorry not sorry no no I mean I know there's a
thing of like oh I'm going for the paycheck I don't there's nothing wrong with you know
getting paid to do a video like that right right but do you think like nah like if I'm not
gonna use it I don't want my audience use it is that like that mentality that you have
basically it's more of like if I don't use it I don't know how to make a video on it
how will the video go if I accept this product that I don't use or I don't
believe in, how the heck will the video go? Probably horribly because I don't know what the heck
I'm doing or saying or if I, my, you know, people can sense that through a video. This guy's just a
shill. This guy's just doing this for for the bag. But no, at the same time, it's probably more to it
than that. There's depths and layers. Maybe they just don't like the product. I don't know.
And how different is it working with like a brand to like an influencer? Like you worked with for
those I don't know. John John like made.
a PC for I Justeed.
One of the OGs of the YouTube industry.
Like, oh, like, oh my gosh.
I even remember watching her when I was young.
So how different was it working for with an influencer versus like a brand?
Oh, influencers are just like you and me.
It's actually, I'll take that back.
Working with a brand too is kind of just like you and me.
It's like you just become friends first and cherish that relationship before having, you know,
work talk.
And I'm a huge believer in that is, you know, you become friends before you talk business.
And business will always, you know, you can always talk about that later.
But as long as you vibe with them, you click with them, you know, then you can do whatever you want.
You can collab.
You can move the heaven and earth.
I don't know.
I like that.
Was there a lot of like, you know, like building and shooting with I justine?
Was there like a lot more pressure?
Or was it because your friends, you're like, yeah, no, totally fun, totally easy.
Not really, yeah, there wasn't really pressure.
It was just more of, dang, I'm building a PC for I just seen.
It has to be pink.
That was it.
I mean, yeah, I mean, that's, that's a good priority.
I mean, got it.
I mean, look at her entire profile.
And look at, she's even wearing her peak.
jacket in this video. It's all she does.
It's got to be, yeah. I mean, obviously it's got to be
a PC worth her work
ethic and, you know, she games a lot too.
So it's got to do both.
She's streamed. Right now, she's streaming like Animal Crossing
the new update.
So in other words, this PC has to
do everything and anything she needs it to do.
And then on top of that, aesthetics-wise,
pink, and then I use the,
I use some LCD display to display
a little boo-boo. So she likes that.
I love that. That was it.
How do you measure, like, success for a brand or an influencer activation?
Like, is it, like, you and them both getting subscribers?
Is it just, you know, being able to get, like, a product out of it?
Like, how do you measure success?
The relationship.
So, for example, one and done deals, I can definitely tell that, like, you know,
oh, man, they don't want me for the next activation.
But for other companies that say, oh, hey, John, John,
We worked with you in the past.
We like to work with you again.
That's when I measure, okay, hey, we vibed.
We did something right here.
Therefore, I have to do the same service, the same, you know, same everything.
So that way they keep, you know, we're both happy.
So especially like, I see, I see it like kind of like, you know, in business, like sales.
Sales will always be a win-win, right?
So if the content creator is winning and the brand is winning, why not we win together
and work again together.
I like that.
I agree.
I mean, for like us here,
we're so happy with like the video that you made
and honestly like the,
also the style that you do it,
it's very like informative.
You know, some people are just like,
oh, this is the PC and then you get this and that.
And I'm like, okay, you know, that's fine.
But when you could like break it down,
you're like, this part, this part.
And he did the fall like, no, like doing this.
And price gap, like price comparison is like there.
It's actually better.
Wait, what?
That's weird.
Yeah, yeah.
So these past few days, it was fun trying to persuade the younger, or I guess the new PC
builders that it's true.
And again, times have changed.
So again, different strokes of different folks.
Of course, I always recommend building if you can.
But I mean, if you just want to be like, I just want to play R graders.
Plug and play.
I got to go with my friends.
I mean, everyone, they're talking about it every day.
I just need a PC.
Come on.
Yeah.
There you go.
Go to Best Buy.
Get that pre-built.
Something like that.
And this next section, before we get into the rapid fire, which is one of my favorite sections, is, you know, you are a father and a husband, right?
Like you are, you're not just like, oh, you know, come home.
I could just go play some games, right?
Like, no, you have other obligations.
So, first of all, like, how has it been?
I guess I was going to say integrating gaming into your family life but really is like you were always a gamer and now you're like oh no I kind of have to like switch things up so how has it been trying to game with also balancing family time the honest answer is you don't you just don't and the best advice I can give you is I mean you'll always have like the perfect schedule or the perfect plan in your mind and you try to do it and the
It never happens.
I'm telling you right now it never happens.
So the best thing you can do is you got to ground yourself.
You got to be present in the moment and just do the best.
But, you know, prioritize the things you got to do now and do the best you can add it at that time.
Because, again, planning it and, you know, I'm going to do this for an hour and 30 minutes a month ago game.
It's not going to happen.
There's always going to be something.
So wing it the best you can.
Have fun with it.
And again, just do what you got to do.
How do you get your little gaming fix?
Is it like, oh, you know, maybe when I'm going to the gym, I'll play on my switch.
Or, you know, it's like, oh, when, you know, they're going on a walk, I'll play like, you know, 15, 20 minutes.
Is there like a way for you to get your gaming in or you're like, no, you know what?
I'm totally fine with it.
It's, again, it's not planned.
It's more of like, after the baby's asleep, that's when I can work on my.
on this on either making a video or I can game or I can edit or do you know do
whatever I need to do but basically this is my unwinding part I call it the dad's
night shift so after the babies asleep wife's also sleeping to it's roughly maybe
nine or 10 p.m. depending on what it is those two hours before midnight I can
sometimes you know gaming sessions can even exceed midnight but
Those two hours are, I would say, sacred to me because it's, yeah, whether I need to
script, film, and edit, or I can just use the time to a game.
And depending on the next morning, how I feel is just, oh, man, I should have edited or,
man, I should have gamed.
It's just all contingent on that.
But, again, it's not really scheduled.
It's more of like, what am I feeling today?
What am I feeling productive?
Am I just feeling, you know, let's just unwind?
Today was a rough day.
Yeah, that's how I fit in gaming.
Okay, yeah.
I think people should learn that, like, you know,
because you're a gamer,
does not mean you have to quit it,
but there are things that will take priority over, you know,
oh, I want to go play some art creators
or play some CS2, like, you may have some upload applications.
Yeah, just lose some sleep.
Yeah, what's, gosh.
What's that triangle?
It's like a sleep, gaming,
and like family time choose two.
And you're like, oh, it's true.
It's true.
It's true.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sometimes it's choose one, but, you know, most of the time it's choose too
because you're going to lose out on sleep or you're going to lose out in gaming,
but, you know, it's just how it is.
That's right.
Let's see.
I'm looking through some other questions that I received.
Oh, what are the best questions I received?
How do I get a free PC?
but they're asking you as a content creator,
how do you get a PC?
Not, we get those DMs all the time,
but like, how does a content creator get a free PC?
Oh, how do I personally, how does John John Tech get a free PC?
Okay, the short answer is you don't.
You still have to work for it.
There's no such thing as a free lunch.
There never is, okay?
There's, I'm sorry, you have to understand that.
You need that mindset.
There's no such thing as a free lunch, okay?
So whether, again, you're buying the PC in a way, whether it's not your money, but you're spending your time and effort of building a PC, you know, the video editing and doing all that stuff for them, that brand.
I guess that's how I get a free PC is working with them.
But the answer is no.
There's no such thing as a free PC.
Yes.
Sorry, not sorry.
Unless you win in the lottery, you know, those free PC giveaways that, again, are some of them are real.
Some of them are fake.
I can't point out which ones are real or fake, but I know which one's real, which is the NDXT Intel Club.
That's, oh, you guys give away a free PC.
Even that is it free because we, you know, someone has to pay for the PC.
So Mike, Mike pays for it.
I don't know if you guys know that.
I'm in my own pocket.
Essentially, it's a free PC.
Yeah, there's, yeah.
I think that's, that's a brilliant way of saying is even if, like, I know, I get all these comments of like, why are these influencers that have,
All these, this tech and everything, they get free PCs.
It's not free.
They're working for it.
They're making a video.
They are brand.
There's so much that people, they're like, I want a free PC.
It's like, there's a lot of different ways to go around that.
You know, chat, you have to understand that social media is a highlight real.
No one's showing the BTS, you know, the behind the scenes of what's really happening.
Okay.
so just keep that in mind
that's food for thought
oh we have a chat
or someone from chat
I think it's
Kelble Kelble
first of all
do you think
expanding
OLED screens is going to be
very useful down the road
saw that Lenovo laptop
that we saw
the one that like
you click it in it like expands
do you see that as like a
like the future of gaming
like maybe console gaming
an expandable monitor
that's okay so the first expandable monitor I saw was I think it was from
corsair
no no I don't think that's a
I don't think that's going to be like revolutionary no
if you ever gameed on a curve monitor
and again it's a it's a different experience and then you know
different strokes for different folks it's it's definitely different
for everybody someone will say they'll swear on it they'll say no it's the
best for your peripherals like that flick i did was because of my curved monitor others will say no i
get freaking vertigo from it so i wouldn't say no because it doesn't cater to the whole market it
may be cater to some of you which is great but it's not it's not revolutionary sorry not sorry
yeah uh yeah as someone that has both i have like the flat monitors here and then i i game on like a
a curb monitor.
For me,
doesn't really make that big a difference,
but I have heard,
like what you said,
there are people like,
this is a revolutionary.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
I'm like so more immersed that I'm like,
I don't see the difference,
but hey,
as long as you're happy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's see.
I agree.
Yeah.
I think that is it on the questions
that I have here.
We'll go into one of my favorite segments,
which is the rapid fire questions.
I have a list of just random questions that I was,
as I was like typing up my,
my little doing my research on my,
oh, you know, I want to ask this.
So go work.
We'll start really easy.
And then it'll start to get into like some odd ones.
I have some weird, would you rather,
is down the red.
So get ready.
Answer however you like, okay?
So first of all, okay, we'll start easy, you know.
What games are you playing right now?
Our creators and war zone.
Nice, nice.
Oh, I love Arc Raiders so much.
I haven't been engrossed in a game like this in a long time.
Same, same.
Yeah, like, I loved Eldorrig and, you know, all the single player,
but, like, I haven't played, like, a multiplayer game like this.
And I'm, like, I'm hooked.
Every game's so fun.
Let's see.
What is one game you wish you could play for the first time again?
Like, you could wipe your memory.
Again?
Yeah.
Roonscape.
Old school Roomscape.
Old school Rooscape.
I was going to have to ask.
I was like the old school one.
Yeah,
old school rules game.
Favorite switches to use.
Tactile.
Tactile all day.
I have a reason for it,
but I don't know if you want to hear me.
Yeah.
Do it.
Please.
I love to hear it.
So how I kind of blew up was I'm a fast typer,
and apparently it's like probably one of the fastest typers you'll see.
And tactile switches will give you that feedback bump.
that you've successfully clicked that switch.
So when I'm in the midst of speed typing,
that tactility bump that you feel when you click the switch
registers in my brain saying that I successfully hit it
that I don't have time to second guess myself.
So I can just rapid fire.
And that's the reason why I like the tactile switches.
What is your WPM?
WPM, yes.
What, do you know the number?
Okay, so off camera, it's a 195.
On camera, I think there's like a 186 out there.
I have not broke 200.
And that is one of my biggest failures in life right now.
So thank you for whoever asked that.
Oh, my gosh.
You're almost at 200.
That's crazy, though.
It's like there, but it's not there.
It's like this.
It's like someone that's like sprinting.
They're like, oh, I just need 0.4 seconds.
You're like, oh, it's only 0.4.
That difference really makes it to break breaks.
Close.
I believe it'll happen soon.
It's going to happen.
I know it is.
What is the best keyboard size?
I know this is controversial.
Controversial, but personally, it's TKL.
Most practical, it's for work and play.
TKL, which is 10 key list, 80%.
I have my little TKL right now.
There it is.
I love to TKL.
I know some people were like,
need the full size because they need the keypad but like the
numpad yeah i i never really use it so it's in the way it's in the way for you know when i'm
trying to do a 360 no scope yeah what i want to do just like i think i'm like oh well well
there right i'm dead i'm dead a b s or pb t bt is there such thing as too much loop yes yes in in
yes you don't like the super squishy the machino
No, no. For some reason, if it's over looped too, it somehow gets on top of the keycap.
I don't know how. It just does. Yeah. Oh, I don't know how that before. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. So there's definitely too much. Yeah.
Foam or no foam? Foam. What is the most overrated part about keyboard modi?
Overrated? Price. You can get a good keyboard for like 100 bucks.
Custom keyboard too
Most underrated
Price
A lot of people focus on that
Yeah
Price and price yeah
If it doesn't make sense
You will if you buy a $500 keyboard
Versus a $100 keyboard
That does the same exact thing
And sounds better
Personally
So
Oh I saw that you had a little
One Piece
You had a Luffy space bar
In one of your first keyboard video
So
Yes sir
What is the best anime
of all time.
One piece.
One piece.
I'm starting,
I was never a one piece guy.
I was a bleach and Naruto guy.
I was like,
I'm never gonna watch One Piece
and I regret it to this day.
But I have started.
I have officially started.
I'm doing One Piece,
which is like these guys,
they do like a fan edit
where they like cut down a lot
in the scenes and everything like that.
I'm finishing up,
I think silver syrup fillage,
the guy with the glasses
and the Edwards.
Oh, okay.
Stop.
Yeah, yeah.
What is your favorite arc?
And you can, you can say it because, you know, I haven't seen it yet, but you can, you can say it.
And I'll definitely watch that.
And he's Lobby.
Hmm.
Eni's Lobby arc is my favorite one because Nico Robin is my favorite character.
If you had to eat a double fruit, which one would it be?
Oh, Loufies, easily.
You would choose gum gum, gum fruit?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think it's so, it's so practical.
He made, he's so creative with it.
It's just like, I want to do that.
Even though it was rated, especially in the beginning,
it was rated one of the worst devil fruits because what else can you do?
But now you're just like, oh, that's really cool.
It's actually pretty pretty cool.
Like, I agree.
Like, I was like, oh, gum go fruit.
That's so, but I'm like, this is actually pretty, pretty good.
Like, it's actually really useful.
It's good for moving around and for fighting.
I'm like, wow, this is good.
Oh, do you believe in future-proofing?
Yes, always.
I know there's a lot of controversy around this.
So what is the top things that you would future-proof in your PC?
Your processor, motherboard, and graphics card.
Any of the three, whichever your budget fits, one of those three is, I mean, you'll
thank yourself in the future.
I mean, hoping that your motherboard is compatible with upgrading your CPU and GPU,
but those are the top three I would focus on.
I agree.
I agree on future proofing.
I know there's a lot of people at the office that are on the opposite side.
You're like, no, just get it for now.
You can upgrade it by it.
It's a huge controversy here at the office.
I'm actually going to make a video about that because honestly, it can get people.
That's fair.
Yeah, yeah.
What is the most common question in your DMs and do you want to answer it so people can stop asking you?
Can I get a free PC?
Can I get a free keyboard?
Answer is no, there's no such thing as a free PC or a free keyboard.
Unless I'm like really nice and like I need to give back to the community.
Once in a blue moon, sure, free PC, here you go.
But then again, I have to pay for shipping and all that stuff.
And it hurts.
But at the same time, it's giving back to the community.
I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you guys.
I agree.
I agree.
I saw that you are, like you said earlier, you were a big Pokemon guy.
So what is your favorite Pokemon?
favorite
Pokemon is Mud Kip
Oh
classic
Great choice
Fantastic choice
I mean
Swampur
Like he wasn't to Swampert
Swampart is water and ground
He's not weak against electricity
Like any other water type
Which is amazing
So Swampart carries
I believe it's Ruby Emerald
Oh wait no
Which one is it?
Yeah
Ruby Sapphire Emerald
Yeah
Do you have
Do you
Do you collect the Pokemon card game?
What is the crown jewel of your card collection?
It's all our charzards.
And the Wi-Fi always pulls them.
I swear, I'll have all, I'll have like maybe eight packs, and she'll have three.
All her three, like the three that she'll have will have all hits.
And I'm like, here's my, here's my piggy.
Here's my holographic piggy.
Get wrecked.
What's the, what's the chase card that you're,
you're looking for that the one that you're like i would love to have this in my collection
the sunbrion in prismatic is right now trending and it's a really nice card uh sunbrion and then
phantasmo flames has a new uh charzart as well which features a mega evolution charzard
with the with charzart charmillion and charmander in the same heart which is really nice
uh i'll send you like what it looks like but it's it's definitely one of the charmed all the
barsards that I want to add to my collection.
That sounds good.
What is, oh, that's also, what is the one pack or one set that you will always open?
151.
151 is the nostalgic.
I'll always open it.
I mean, mind you that this is a blooming waters, but we're, we're saving this for a date, me and
my wife.
Like a, like a big event.
No, no, like, uh, like our anniversary is coming up.
So then what we do is like, we will always have something to open.
during our anniversary.
I like that.
We have like a tradition type thing.
And Zix had showed how much money have you spent on cards?
We're not talking about that.
You have an estimate.
Give me, how about higher than $5,000?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Higher than 10?
Maybe.
Maybe, maybe.
I think I'm in between there.
But I haven't gone to one of those big card shows yet.
And I'm afraid if I do, then it's definitely going to be higher than 10.
Like I want to meet a beer dad and Coup and Sean and just like buy cards for now.
Oh, yeah, yeah, agreed.
If I go to one of those things, I'm buying like thousands of dollars worth of stuff.
Do you watch Pat Deep Pocket Monster?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, my God.
I love his videos.
So buddy.
Oh, I love his videos.
Big little thumbs.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So good.
He actually really got me into Pokemon trading cards because, like, it was the, should I open it or should I keep his CEO?
And I was just like, oh, this is fun.
And every day, I literally during lunch, I would just go on YouTube and it will pop up and I'm scrolling through it.
And I'm like, I'm going to watch his videos.
It's so good.
So good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Love that.
Oh, actually, I guess that's the thing.
Any creators who inspire you?
I just seen.
I just seen.
Again, the queen of tech, she's been doing this for, I don't even know how long,
but she's definitely paved the path of the unboxing, tech reviews, talk to Apple.
She's talked to Sam, like, the CEOs of them.
Like, it's just like, I want to do that too, right?
Smaller creators would be Chloe She.
She does, like, lifestyle, really good lifestyle storytelling videos.
Super good.
Life of Rizza on YouTube, they're inspiring.
Like, if I need to pick her up her just to, you know, get motivated, get inspired, get some fresh thoughts in, I'll watch one of their videos.
Do you have a dream collab that you hope happens and can be with any brand or influencer in the world?
Jason the Wien.
I want to build them a PC.
Oh, I love him.
You so cool.
So.
And DXC, you want to help me build a PC with Jason the Wien?
Let's do it.
I mean, I wouldn't be against it in any sort of way.
I mean, I'd be down.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
I'm down.
Let's see.
Oh, what was a video that you didn't expect to go viral, but it just all of a sudden did?
That TV video.
That TV video was like, I'm fooling around.
I'm doing model poses in front of a box.
The TV's not even out.
It's literally just a box.
So that's one.
It wasn't even showed it.
thing you did a follow-up video.
Yeah, about it.
So it was just a box, too.
I forgot.
Yeah, yeah.
So that one for sure.
One of my typing videos, the split keyboard that has like 50 million views.
That's actually the one that kick started it.
So I made like a split keyboard, has tactile switches.
It's called boba switches.
And I typed only like 160 words per minute on there.
And it went super viral.
What is the single best tech item you ever reviewed?
or unbox single oh oh um so flip phones are coming back i don't know if you're aware about
yeah i've seen that coming back the samsung z flip seven or yes z fold seven i'm sorry
z fold seven is revolutionary i feel like if if you have the capability of having a tablet
in your pocket and people actually experience that you're going to want one and iphone or android
I mean, iPhones coming out with a fold.
So once you experience that, you're going to be like, I can't go back.
I can't.
I'm playing old school runescape on it.
All phones lead back.
Yeah, it's huge.
It's a tablet.
It's shoot somewhere here.
I remember when the flip phones came out.
Everyone's like, oh, this is so weird.
Why don't you just like my Blackberry edit everyone with a flip phone?
Oh, so good.
Everything go back to it.
if you weren't doing you know these tech reviews and building PCs and making these videos what do you think you would be doing building cars and racing oh interesting have you built like a or do you have a car that you're working on at this right now no but i think i can learn easily and and driving is one of my like hidden passions
What would you want to drive?
Right now, a Porsche.
I want a Tycoon.
Oh, yeah.
Not for tax purposes.
I mean, I get it.
A lot of people, you know, get it for the tax incentive.
But it's just one of those, like, when you're a dad, too, you're just like, I want that.
Yeah.
I feel you on that.
I feel on that.
Okay.
So I want to build a really cool keyboard.
How do I start?
Where should I look?
How should you start is ask yourself why you want to spend over $500 on a keyboard.
And then once you get over that hump, then it's like, okay, what sound profile do you want?
Do you want it creamy? Do you want it thawky? Do you want it clicky?
Third, once you find out your budget and then the actual sound profile you want, you got to know which size you want, the size.
So what best function do you use the function key?
Do you use the cluster keys?
Do you use the number key?
Do you even use the arrow keys?
it can go as small as 40% to 100%.
So you have to find out which size is most functional for your work and play.
Now, after you find the size, now you can start shopping.
You gotta look for that exact size and the best place to start is probably,
for fully customizable keyboards is, okay, it's KPD, okay, it's called KBD fans.
K, KB, B as in boy and then D is in Derek.
KBD fans.
They have, actually, I haven't been on this site in forever, but this is where I'd buy my custom
built PC or kits.
And then sometimes they have group buys and group buys are just the fancy way of saying,
pre-orders, but sometimes they have available in stock.
So ready to use keyboards are right here.
There's a ready to use tab.
And if you scroll down, you look for your size.
Let's say if you're looking for 80%.
Oh, they have the Athena-800 in stock.
Okay.
they have the Holy 80, which is a pre-order for $232.
Mind you, this doesn't come with switches and key caps.
So that's the reason why I say $500 is because you have to still buy switches and keycaps.
And then, of course, all the tools like lube, the stabilizers.
I think that's pretty much it.
Oh, the aviator cables, if you want to make it look fancy, stuff like that.
Wow.
That is.
It's kind of like when you go to a restaurant, it's a la carte.
When you're customizing your keyboard, you have to buy the rice.
and then the meat and then the veggies everything is categorized so it's not an all one i'm sorry
it's not so yeah i think uh everyone if you guys want to learn what keyboards you're looking for
go to john john in the chat that will go to his socials seriously check up his like
instagram and ticot you'll find the videos of the asmr and everything like that fantastic fantastic
Honestly, you know, we talked about the person falling asleep to the key.
I get it now.
I'm sorry to understand it now.
I'm getting it.
I'm on board.
Let's see.
Oh, okay.
All right, we just got a couple more.
Would you rather questions?
And then we'll go into the final announcements.
Would you rather be a Pokemon master or attend Hogwarts?
Pokemon Master.
Agreed.
Would you rather have $1 million right now?
Or $1 billion if you don't speak a word for a year.
And yes, you can write and type and everything.
Just cannot speak.
One year straight.
My wife and daughter are going to have to understand.
That's the thing.
Because I usually ask these questions because people with families,
it's so much harder for them.
You're just like, oh, man.
Would you do it?
One billion.
B, as a billion.
I don't think it's realistic to,
actually do it in one year.
I don't think it's possible.
So I'll take one million today.
Wow.
I got to get a dub.
You know what?
Hey, take the million.
Take the dove right there.
I mean, that's life-changing money right there.
Yeah.
Yes, it is.
There's also another thing for $1 billion,
but you have to skip every holiday from here on now.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
That one's easy.
You would do that one.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
The holidays are stressful right now.
especially as a parent of a toddler.
Yeah.
You just be like, oh, we don't have Christmas, but here, take a, take a pony.
Yeah.
You want a car?
Go for it.
Yeah.
There you go.
Some people are like, oh, no, I love Christmas my family and, you know, I want that.
But it's, I've honest.
I'll just buy you whatever, dude.
They're happy Christmas.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If I announce, like, what's going on, they'd be like, yeah, yeah, you're actually uninvited.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're not even.
Yeah.
Sign me.
Sign me a mill.
We're fine.
We're chilling.
You don't have to go to Christmas today.
Crazy, but yeah, a deal.
Okay.
Final one.
Would you rather,
this one actually is a fun one
because you kind of see the benefits of both.
Would you rather be able to rewind time
10 minutes for once a day?
So you can go back in time 10 minutes once a day.
Or you can pause time for one minute
as many times as you want,
but there is a small 30 minute interval
in between the pauses.
Okay, so I can pause time for a one minute interval every 30 minutes in upwards.
Or once a day, he can rewind time 10 minutes.
But it's only once a day.
I'm trying to like use this power in a casino.
What's better to use?
People immediately said the same thing.
But 10 minutes is a long time.
That's the issue.
It can only go back in 10 minute interval.
So that's the hard part.
If it was like rewind a one minute ago, easy.
That's easy, right?
but 10 minutes, ooh, that's tough.
Thinking of like financial too, because you can, like, instant gratitude.
So, like, for example, like, if I rewind 10 minutes of like, you know, putting, putting a huge bet on, let's say red.
Oh, yeah.
And then I can use as, I can like stack it as much, like, like, max out the limit and then just come back the next day.
Then I'll obviously get kicked out.
but what I'm saying is
Oh, that's tough.
Or, or whatever like instant gratification would be like,
like a day trader reading in the future.
Oh, yeah.
Someone in chat says, rewind 10 minutes to become a day trader.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Like you dump like X amount of dollars into this,
see the outcome.
Mm-hmm.
And then I think the day trader is like,
it's also a little
yeah I think the day trader
oh Olivia and chat oh I don't know about that
Olivia because I don't know if that's early
it says rewind 10 minutes as soon as they announce
the lottery numbers I think that's too
too quick because you need to do it like
beforehand right like you need to wait
you have to have a ticket before yeah I'm not sure
I mean he could wait at the gas station
until it happens and buy it 10 minutes before
I don't know I don't know I've never done to lottery tickets
so like I don't know if like
Like you can do that 10 minutes for it's like oh one day it's locked in I guess it's just numbers I guess
could do that I think I would do the 10 minutes before and then just switch my professional
career to a day trader yeah I think honestly I think day training is the the way to go because
it was only one is like you could go back a minute oh easy yeah yeah you can remember something
but 10 minutes is a long time and also part day trick I agree yeah 10 minutes that can work easily
yeah whoever said day trader in chat good job yeah yeah
I think that's the key.
Okay.
Is it on the on the questions?
I'm going to go quick into just a couple of announcements and I'll hand it back over to you for some updates on everything like that.
So yeah, first of all, for those I hear, you know, we have the NZC Intel Club.

Oh, yeah.
I can see that.
Oh, next final announcement is that we are doing some in-person feedback events at our HQ.
We already have selected them, but we'll be doing more into future.
We're pretty much going to do almost every month or every other month.
We're trying to figure out the timing.
But in between, I'll also be doing some virtual feedback events where you can talk to our CEO, our prime.
Oh, our product designers, our director design.
Yeah, like you're talking to with the head honchos
and you can give your full, like, input and be as critical as you want.
This year, we're trying to do our best to bring our community into our decisions
and also like to hear from the community.
So please keep an eye out on our socials.
I'll be doing them.
Try to do it every month, if not every other month.
But please keep an eye out and please help us become better.
Now I'm going to hand us back over to you, John John.

events so i went to compotex last year and i would want to attend again this year because it's basically
like CES but more PC focused and that's it's like Candyland it's like wow I can talk to
anybody and they'll know about PCs and it's kind of amazing so we should see you there too we should
see you there I'll see you there but uh I think oh a couple of over there you may be able
say hi to Johnny I think Johnny would be going there so hey say how to our CEO where you're there
all right sounds good um let's see uh oh
Do you have any final thoughts or messages before we ask you to see your code?
So any final thoughts or messages you want to talk to the audience?
Final messages?
In today's market, buying a pre-built is better than building your own.
And I'm double-downing on that.
I agree, especially with how ramp prices are and SSD.
Horrible.
Graphics are now at, like, what, 40% capacity or down 40%?
Like, guys, it's tough.
It's going to be a tough.
It's still going up, by the way.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey, we're all in this together.
We're going to pull through.
It's going to be okay.
It's going to be good.
It's going to be good.
So we're giving away a hoodie and a shirt and a mouse pad, all Intel related.
We have a secret code word for those that are here.
Basically, it's our way of saying thank you to those that are listening live.
What do you want the code word to be?
It can be anything.
I get to decide it.
You get to decide it.
We'll do a code word.
pre-built.
Pre-built.
I like that.
Don't type in yet.
I have to update it on gleam.
But I like that code.
I like that code.
So I am updating you right now.
Everyone, please refresh your gleams because the gleam is being updated now.
So please refresh your gleams and type in the code word pre-built.
Pre-built is the code word.
Do you have anything to say before I go into our little closing announcements?
No, thank you so much for everyone tuning in.
Happy Friday.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
And again, thank you so much, Mike, and ZXT for having me on your podcast.
This was amazing.
I thought this was fun.
It was so fun to have, like, cool tech influencers on because, like, they know what to
say, they know, like, what I want to talk about.
Like, oh, yeah, what about this people.
Oh, I know what to.
Like, it's so nice.
It's cool.
Likewise, vice versa.
It's nice to have brands that.
you know, reach out to creators and want to communicate and, you know, connect.
It's amazing.
That's actually the best thing ever.
There's one of my highlights because I'm like, I'm getting to talk to really cool people
in the community.
Like most of the time it's just through DMs and stuff.
But like when you can have a one-on-one conversation for an hour, it's so fun.
It's so fun.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
Right.
All righty.
Let's see.
Anything else do I have?
Nope, that is it.
