Starting point is 00:00:00 TLS and go for main engine, start. Hey, buddy. It's just us. It's just us. It's just us. We're doing a recorded version. We had some scheduling stuff. But what that does mean, Jake, is that we are paying off a three and a half, almost,
Starting point is 00:00:35 not three and a quarter year long running bit on this show. Yeah. It's been a while in the making. Well, you can definitely say that. Just shortly after Artemis 1 return to Earth, we put a call out for, Was it then? Google Forums tells me that it was January 2023 in which a bunch of you responded to a family feud style questionnaire. We turned that into the newly wedds game
Starting point is 00:01:01 that we played. And then, is that what we called it? Did we have a special name? Offnomerally, weds. Off nominally weds. Yes. And then we never really, I played with some family feud interfaces that existed on the internet. And then we were, trying to find maybe somebody to host it. We felt bad about making Brendan Byrne always have homework when he came, so we didn't. But then here we are in our Year of the Lord, 2026, when we can just code up a thing in an afternoon and make a family feud, or a totally not IP infringing family feud interface
Starting point is 00:01:38 that I don't know the answers to. I never looked at the questions, but it does work. I had a test with fake data so I could actually play a little bit and make sure the thing works and we have a fully functional version of all 20-some rounds of the family feud game that you guys all responded to three years ago, Jake, and this is what we're going to do today. It's going to be extra funny because it's three years ago. It's going to be just like which things are still relevant and which ones are completely not relevant is going to be endlessly entertaining, I think.
Starting point is 00:02:06 That's my guess. I remember your favorite rocket or best rocket was like the first question. That's the only one I remember. But there's like a whole new set of rockets that has come since then. So we need to remember what was flying in 2020. Yeah. Okay, well, that sounds fun. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:02:23 I can't wait to see. I'm also just interested to see what vibe-coded nonsense appears on the screen here. It's going to be interesting. You know, I do have, I do have to mention, I do have a cloud code open in the background in case we need to make live bug fixes. So we'll figure that out if it comes to it. that would be a true way to make this show go we're a little early here it might just barely be lunchtime did you you got what you got anything yeah it is early i do have a drink but it is not
Starting point is 00:02:56 it's not spicy well it is spicy but not that kind of spicy um so this is i don't know if you can see it it's because it's going to be i don't want to tilt it too much don't don't do this i just try it i don't know if you can see okay yeah i see a little something anyway it's on the surface It's, um, those are apples. So this is, um, pancha. This is like a Mexican kind of holiday drink. I have a bunch left over. They sell it at Costco.
Starting point is 00:03:21 So you can just buy it like this and a pound. It has to be in a mug that's like blue and white. I guess so. Yeah. Um, but it's got like apple and cinnamon and, uh, let's see, raisins and, uh, hibiscus and tamarind and. Wow. Any liquid or?
Starting point is 00:03:41 just yeah and then just like you know water and sugar and stuff um but it's really good it's like kind of spicy and it's like you know it's like a it's like Mexican hot toddy almost like it's kind of like it's kind of warm yeah but I like and it's it's very weirdly rainy and drizzly today like we got like this bizarre weather rolled in yesterday and it's just been raining for like 12 hours and it's like kind of gloomy so this is good look at you I similarly have uh it's early enough that and I need caffeine because I'm, there's things going on in Philadelphia tonight that I'm going to and I need to stay awake. So there's, the old French press is out for this one, Jake. Getting serious. Oh, yeah. All right. I'm going to turn on, turn the sound up for this,
Starting point is 00:04:25 this totally not IP infringing version of anomaly feud. When does the sound start? There should be sounds. All right. I didn't know sounds. Oh, there it is. Hell yeah. Take down. Do you think that's takedown level? It might be.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Should I tell Claude to turn off the background music and only keep the buzzer sounds? Probably. This is going to get tiring. All right. Hold on. Hold on. First. Abort.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Abort. Hold. Hold. Hold. Hold. Hold. Let's get rid of the theme song. We're not going to be able to monetize this one.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Keep the other. Yeah. Keep the other sound effects. All right. Hold on. Just give. give Claude a chance to work. Let's just quickly discuss ground rules here, Jake.
Starting point is 00:05:14 There's 20-some rounds. I forget how many. I think we just go as long as we can and we'll see what the completely nonsensical score is when we get to the end of the show. Is there any stakes? Do we have any stakes on the line? Like, do you want to bet anything on who's going to win?
Starting point is 00:05:33 Any stunts that we need to do? Geez, I put me on the spot here. I guess I don't know I'm not blank in here Think of it Everybody out there Gotta buy drinks at Artemis 3
Starting point is 00:05:49 Well that yeah Yeah three You're not coming to We're not coming to do for sure We only talk about this This game in terms of units of times Of Artemis launches Actually it's true
Starting point is 00:06:00 That is true All right The game happens for Artemis 2 The prize will be delivered at Artemis 3 All right The theme song is gone so let's instead just do it's not gone at all
Starting point is 00:06:14 it's still playing in the background for me oh well you can't hear it so what the hell it told me it was gone reload give it a reloading, live coding yeah did it go well I mean it didn't seem to work all right here we go it's no more theme song this is great news I think the JavaScript was cached
Starting point is 00:06:30 all right uh rounds all of them 25 there's 25 should we go random question order or in order of how it was responded to Random, random. Random, okay. Non-deterministic vibe coding. It says 164 people submitted answers to these questions, Jake.
Starting point is 00:06:49 So here we go. You have not many listeners? Apparently. Can you hear that? That the sound work? I heard the do-da-do-do. You got to shrink the screen a little bit, though. I can only read half the question.
Starting point is 00:07:00 You can't see that. Okay. You got to bring it the top of the window down a little bit. There you go. There you go. Yeah. All right. All right. It looks like I'm up first for the fast money round.
Starting point is 00:07:08 It's not, we can't buzz in. We have to just, it's one of us answers, the other one answers, whoever got the, you know, you know the whole thing. You haven't seen Family Feud, go watch that, I guess, and then come back. Yeah, pause the episode. Go watch a Family Feud episode. And be right back after that. We'll be right back. What is your favorite non-US rocket? Again, 2023 version.
Starting point is 00:07:29 I'm just going to say, show me electron. Oh, only number three. Okay. Jake, Chance to steal. I'm going to go for Soyuz. I guess this isn't a steel, right? This is, you would then get to pass or play. Soyuz, number one answer.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Soyuz. Damn, that is a loud sound effect. Crushed it. Crushed it. All right, Jake, would you like to play or pass? I will play. All right, Jake, confident he can answer eight versions of favorite non-US rockets. Go ahead, sir.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Let's go with Ariane. Arion. Oh, also, this does fuzzy. matching. So, Aryan, you got credit for Aryan 5. That was a major limitation in why we haven't played this game until now is that I would have needed to figure out how to have somebody else know what we meant when we said this. So we have fuzzy matching. All right. You're on a roll here. You got to start. Okay. Let's see. Let's see. Okay, let's do proton. Proton. Yeah, baby. Oh, only number six, though. Number six answer. I would have thought that would have been
Starting point is 00:08:37 higher. Yeah. Well, you know. 233, that would have been the last time proton flew, right? Is that when it was soft canceled? I think so. So people were, that's what I'm saying. People were a little bit, you know, poor one out for proton at that time in the world. Yeah, yeah. Okay, let's go for Long March 3.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Long March 3? What the hell is? I don't even know what the hell a Long March 3 is. Long March 5, you got credit. That's some bullshit. I'm protesting over this answer. You did, in fact, get three points for the answer, Long March 5.
Starting point is 00:09:16 All right, okay. Low, that was early on in the Long March 5's life, right? I mean, the first one was... People were very happy about that time, though, because that's when it was, like, raining down on us constantly. Yeah, it was. I'm running out of non-U.S. Rock now. Vega?
Starting point is 00:09:38 Vega. Who the hell likes Vega? This is so good. This is so well done. This is going to piss off the entire AI hater channel in the Off Nominal Discord, because this is a great piece of software. I also made it, Jake, so that it is a JSON file that loads in the questions and answers. So we can do this again.
Starting point is 00:09:58 We can continue to use it. You made reusable code. I made reusable, fully reusable, rapidly reusable even. All right. One strike, three answers left. 86 points on the board, Jake. Can you think of another non-US rockets? Let's do PSLV.
Starting point is 00:10:22 PSLV. Okay. All right. Big moment. Big moment. Let's do what are other countries that launch rockets? Let's see. I was hoping that PSLV would fuzzy match to GSLV.
Starting point is 00:10:43 I don't know how, I didn't build it, so I don't know how fuzzy the fuzzy is. What's the new, Angara? Angara. Oh! All right, chance to steal. My problem is I spent so much time hosting to try to remember the things that the host would say in Family Feud that I've not spent any time thinking about non-enestructs. So you did PSLV. Part of me was thinking historical, right?
Starting point is 00:11:21 Because this doesn't say active or non. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. People love, you know, Energia or Baran. Right? I feel like, I feel like Baran is my chance here. There's no other obvious ones, right? Because we got Electron. There's not really those European small launch.
Starting point is 00:11:42 We're still too far off. Nobody liked them anyway. I'm going Baran. We're going to see. Oh, man. Oh, Energia. Damn it. N1.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Black Arrow. Black Arrow? Black Arrow? Five people said Black Arrow? A couple of Brits in the chat. I like a black arrow got more than long march. I mean, that tracks. Yeah, if I look at the map of our listeners, Jake.
Starting point is 00:12:08 All right. Okay. Round two. Here we go. I don't know when it's going to set the board. Here we go. Jake's answer first. What is the best propellant used in orbital flight?
Starting point is 00:12:19 I feel like we've been talking about this like this is a topical thing right now. Let's do RP1, baby. Let's go for it. RP1. RP1 carosine, 50 points on the board. Jake, would you like to play or pass? You got the number one answer. Dude, are there seven fuels?
Starting point is 00:12:35 Like, I don't know. I guess I'll play. Let's go for it. Let's do hydrogen. Hell yeah, hydrogen. Number two answer. Right, that, yep, number two answer. What is the slash?
Starting point is 00:12:46 Hydrogen, maybe hydrogen, oxygen? I don't know what the other slash is. 31 of you, 31%? Not 31 of you. Hydrolox, maybe that's what it says? I don't know. Could be, yeah. Let's do, what is the,
Starting point is 00:13:01 man, I'm afraid we're going to type it in wrong, but what's the monopapotipelant? Is it hydrazine? Hydrazine. Good answer, good answer. Number four. Number four. Jesus, it's down to the six,
Starting point is 00:13:13 so it's like those little, little scraps at the end there. Okay, well, now let's do, this is where it's going to be tough. What is the one, what's the solid fuel? Is it going to be like, no, hydrazine is dimethylhydrazine, right? That's the same thing. That's like the N to H2 or something like that, N2H4.
Starting point is 00:13:40 What is the? That sounds right. Hmm, okay. Methane, I guess. I was waiting for it. Jeez, methane, the number of transatl. Still, only 6% though. It was early into the orbital life of methane at the time, 2023.
Starting point is 00:13:55 That was only Teryn 1 had made it, right? Because I guess technically Starship isn't even fit in this category. Orbital flight. Geez, okay. All right, so let's do like the hydrazine is the marlapurpellant. That's what I'm thinking, right? Mm-hmm. So there's not like some other, like,
Starting point is 00:14:23 fuel, you know, you know what I'm talking about? I know what you mean. I'm thinking of it. That's my answer that I would use to steal right now if you went over three. I don't know what you call that, though. I don't know what it is. So I'm not going to make this. Let's go for alcohol.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Alcohol, nice. No, didn't feel good about that one. No, I didn't. All right. Uh, what's a, what's the one that, blanking on the word, it's like, uh, they used it in a few weird rockets for a while. It's like also what you put on wounds when you want it to sterilize. Uh-huh. Pro pro pro-proxide.
Starting point is 00:15:14 That's what you're looking for. Paroxite. That's the, yeah. I'll help you out. I'll help you out. I'll help you out. Still not an answer. No, I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:15:21 We just put in monopropelant. Let's see what I get that. Monopel. Let's do the case. I think the one you're looking for is NTO. Let's see, NTO on the board. No, ethanol locks, locks, and solid fuel. Solid would have been your answer, Jake.
Starting point is 00:15:39 This game is going to be a thousand to zero, and it's just going to be me missing the steel every time. Locks. I guess it counts. It counts. All right, what is the worst rocket, Anthony, with the first answer here. Oh
Starting point is 00:15:57 No better time to say SLS, Jake Only the number four answer Wow 7% of people 2003 Let's go Rocket 3 Rocket 3
Starting point is 00:16:09 Astro Rocket 3 The number 6 answer I'm playing baby I'm playing worst rockets What is worse than SLS and Astor Rocket 3 though That's crazy That these This is a tough one
Starting point is 00:16:24 because number four answer is only 7%. N1. Number one answer on the board, N1. 15. Oh, shit. What else is bad? I mean, like, Proton in the late days was pretty bad, but it was a good, I think it's a good rocket, you know?
Starting point is 00:16:46 So it's not that. Were people mad about Vulcan? Aryan 4 is ugly. Vega is pretty bad. Vega was pretty bad at the time, too. There's a couple of, a couple of Vega mishaps. I'm going to go to Vega. Nothing for Vega.
Starting point is 00:17:07 This is tough. This is a tough one. This is tough. I'm going to say, math isn't going to math here. I'm going to say shuttle. There's some shuttle haters out there, and I feel like they let you know when they're shuttle haters. So I'm saying shuttle.
Starting point is 00:17:19 The number eight answer is space shuttle. Wow. All right. Well, that takes a really helpful one off the board for us. Space shuttle. People don't like that. Did people like the... Did people like Vulcan at this time?
Starting point is 00:17:36 Oh, dude, what am I even doing? Antares! Oh, come on! Come on! This game's gonna be 2,000 to nothing. Jeez. Show me Pegasus. No, nope, nope, bump fake, pump fake.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Now I gotta remember the name of this one. Show me Launcher 1. Yes, number three answer. Langeroni, all right. Launcherone, baby. What else was around at the time and bad? So ABL didn't do their stuff yet. Taryn one probably was canceled by then, right?
Starting point is 00:18:15 Taryn one. Nothing. Oh, there's a lot of buzzers on that one. All right, Jake, for the steel. Let's do Aries 1X. Oh, great one. I should have thought about that, I've been, God damn it.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Spaceship 2 and Proton can't make the list. The funniest thing to me is that spaceship 2 and Ares 1 are the ones I always bitch about, too. I know. I was thrown off when Antares, I thought you all weren't with me on this. So, all right. Man. This is so silly. I will say this game would have been better if Jake let me do the theme song every time,
Starting point is 00:18:50 because right now it would be theme song at, like, volume 11. But anyway, all right, Jake's time for this. What is your favorite suborbital rocket? Okay. Man. I have an answer that I want and I have an answer that is probably correct. This is about how well we know our audience, Jake. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:10 But the answer that should be correct is also one that people hate unreasonably. Mm-hmm. I'll do it. Starship. Great answer. Oh. Oh my God. That's really funny.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Four points, baby. Let's do it. That's really funny. All right, but I got a really easy chance to steal here. There's got to be some New Shepard lovers out there. New Shepard. The number one answer. Is that the one you were thinking?
Starting point is 00:19:43 I was, yeah. I was banking on people hating Blue Origin for not going to top. I'm going to say that you can't name the other six of World Warhol Rockets, so I will pass, Jake. Over to you. The other six suborbital rockets. Let's do Black Brandt. Black Brant. That's NDT, right?
Starting point is 00:20:06 Nice. I think it's a T. Yeah. Oh, just T. Why did I think it was NDT? I don't know. I don't know. I have Neil deGrasse Tyson derangement syndrome, I guess.
Starting point is 00:20:17 Trying to think of our audience, too. There's going to be like some silly ones on here. It's like, is the Meat Rocket going to be on here? That's what I'm wondering. Mm. Did it have, it wouldn't have flown by, at that point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:30 But it might still be their favorite. It would have existed in people's hearts though, right? That's true. Yeah, certainly. 34% for New Shepherd is high based on what I know about our audience. That is their favorite? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:42 It is. Yeah. Okay, let me think, let me think. Hmm. Suborbital. God, I don't know if I know that many either. That was the point, man.
Starting point is 00:20:55 I threw this your way because I was like, that's a long list. It is a long list. It's a long list. And also, 2023 was the little black one that flies off the east coast of the U.S. Was that flying yet?
Starting point is 00:21:07 If you can remember the name of it? The little black one that flies off the East Coast of the U.S. I'm not giving you too much of a hint. Just a little bit of a hint. I don't know. Does that count, though? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:19 I don't know. Well, I may as well. I got three Xs to go. Right. Let's do it. Electron. Let's go for it. Oh, you're saying,
Starting point is 00:21:25 all right, not haste. I don't know. Why has there no sounder? What happened to the sounder? Does haste to show up as that? Okay. Let's try meat rocket. I'm going to go for it.
Starting point is 00:21:38 Meat rocket. How would you like me to type it in? Just meat rocket like this? Sounds good. All right. Meat rocket. What happened to my sound effects? God damn it.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Let's see. Man, I'm really bad at this. Spaceship 2. Okay, that's got to be on there. Spaceship 2. Not on there. My chance to steal. I don't know what happened to sound effects.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Sorry, audio listeners. Although you probably appreciate it because that was getting really obnoxious. So, man, favorites of World Warbird Rocket. This, Redstone. Oh, that's good. Mercury Redstone, number two answer.
Starting point is 00:22:20 X-15, Star Hopper. Crazy that got another answer. V-2 and Spaceship 1. So not any two lovers, Jake. But who likes V2? Come on, guys. That's a crazy answer. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:35 They're just crazy. Say bad things on our stream. That's a crazy answer. Absolutely unbelievable answer. That's nuts. That's my favorite. The hellfire. All right.
Starting point is 00:22:58 God, I wish I could make the sound effects work again. Maybe I hit mute. Unmute. Let's try that. What is the best rocket explosion, Jake? Oh, it's mine. It's mine. It's not yours.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, man. The V2. Just as I took a drink, don't do that. Best rock explosion. So we would have had none of the, orbital starships yet. We would have had only the suborbital ones.
Starting point is 00:23:37 There would have been like SN8 was a really good one, right? The initial one that kind of landed on its back. That was a great one. I'm thinking, I think a Titan made its way in here, though. That Titan, I'm not confident enough in the model, but... I know which one you're talking about, yeah. What Titan was that?
Starting point is 00:23:57 I don't know. Or was it Delta? It was a Titan. I think it was a Titan 4. Titan 4, right? I'm saying Titan. No, nothing on the board, Jake, for Titan. What do you got?
Starting point is 00:24:06 Clean board for you. N1. And one. Number one answer. Would you like to play or pass? Seven more exposions to go. Jeez. And it's not the Titan.
Starting point is 00:24:21 There's definitely some Starship ones on here. This is how they're going to specify it. It's going to be interesting. All right, I'll play. Let's go for it. do S-10. S-N-10. Oh, 10.
Starting point is 00:24:34 S-N-10. Do you want me put Starship so it matches enough? Starship, S-N-10. Named exactly the number five answer, six points on board. Okay. Let's do the proton upside-down one.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Oh, hell yeah. Proton, I guess. Proton. Proton M. Number four answer, 10 points on the board. Yeah, okay, all right. You got the two, the three, the six, the seven, and the eight.
Starting point is 00:24:58 I do not want to attempt shuttle, so I'm going to go to the next one. There's no world. If any, if 6% of you are screwed up enough to have said V2 and then shuttle in these answers. You are not the 6% of listeners we want in this audience. Yeah, we're going to, we're going to go back and correlate those answers to find out who we are. Let's go for the Falcon. Was it CRS 6 or whatever? CRS or the other one?
Starting point is 00:25:32 The other one's better. The other one's better. The fast fire. I think that was AMO6. Amos 6 sounds right. Should I put, how much should I put in here? Like, should I put Falcon 9 AMO6? Sure.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Amos 6, yes. All right. The seven answer, two, less, one third, the amount of people that said V2 for their favorite suborbital rockets said AMO6, a notoriously great explosion. Well, let's try. Try CRS 7, isn't it? That's the one. XR7 is the one, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:04 SpaceX. On Elon's birthday, right? Ceres 7. Now I have to do the sound effects like an idiot. It sucks. What was the, there was the delta that blew up pretty bad, a Delta 2, right? Delta 2, yeah. What do you want me to say?
Starting point is 00:26:27 Delta 2? Sure, just put Delta 2. Let's see what they go for. GPS 2R1. Yeah, they got really specific on that one. And nine people said that. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:39 That's the one. That's the one that was in my head of Cape Canaveral where it melted the pickup truck and it like rained on Cape Canaveral. You know that where like landed on the on the parking lot. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Let's do. I wonder if there was like that. I'm trying to get other sound effects going, Jake.
Starting point is 00:26:57 I because now my thing died. Disregard. This window comes up with the rush limbaugh on it. Yeah, that was a past bit. I don't know what you're doing. Oh, we've done that on this show, haven't we? We did that on the show. I think we did it on the show once.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Yeah. Oh, my goodness. Okay, this is hard. That's just so many answers. Like, this is just all the explosions. I wonder if there's like another Starship one in there. S&. Yeah, I mean, you said S&10 specifically.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Yeah. I'm trying to remember. So this was January 23. So, okay, so the first orbital flight hadn't happened yet. It was still, yeah, it was still a little bit off. Still a ways off. Let's do the centaur that blew up and Eric Berger leaked. The centaur.
Starting point is 00:27:56 Okay, nice. Centaur. Nothing. I guess, no, that's the wrong buzzer. There we go. Is that coming through? All right. Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Yeah. I have to click the buttons manually now because of this piece of shit software that somebody wrote. Okay, let's do the dragon capsule. That's a rocket. The dragon capsule.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Oh, dude, the... Yeah, we'll just say dragon. The test article. Yeah. Dragon, nope. We can't be quick enough on this. There we go. Third strike.
Starting point is 00:28:30 All right, I get the steel. I got the three, the six, and the eight left. Yeah, I'm going to make you guess, Rocket explosions. Yeah, right. Jesus. What was not the space shuttle? Yeah, I mean, I don't know anyone that would say that's the best.
Starting point is 00:28:51 So I'm not going to say that. I am going to say that the Alpha, did Firefly Alpha happen by this point in time? I'm thinking of like new rockets that came on. Right, right, right. Because that one was kind of cool. because you've got the proton one already there was that long march right that was not a good another not good explosion this was a stupid question
Starting point is 00:29:20 for whoever made this because I think you all submitted the questions as well and then we recirculated them as as a form best rocket explosion I didn't spend enough time thinking about what my stealing answer would be but I'm just going to try another starship because you said SN 10 I'm gonna go SN8 yes number six answer two of you oh Antauris that's a great one And then I would have gotten the Long Marcher right because IntelSat 708 was, in fact, on here.
Starting point is 00:29:49 I can't believe we forgot about Antares again. Yeah. Shocker. And no one would think of Antares. All right. Revealed question. Where's my button? There we go.
Starting point is 00:30:00 What's your favorite planetary science mission, Jake? You are up with the answer here. Let's go with curiosity. Okay. Do you don't think Perseverance didn't have enough love by that point in time? Too many question marks
Starting point is 00:30:16 on Marisnappor return. All right. Curiosity. The number four answer. Yeah. Wow. That's brutal. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Wow. Okay. That's a tough one because that's like an over under. Like, you know, the long tail of these questions, man, gets really, really long.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Yeah. Just, yeah. The eight people. I thought curiosity was at worst number two. Yeah. All right. So I'm going to say that Cassini has a lot of love out there. Number one answer.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Yes. All right. I'm playing this because I feel like we can do it. We got opportunity. People love that. Oh, only the number seven answer. Three points on the board. That's kind of a wild, wild thing.
Starting point is 00:31:02 Now, the question is, do the Apollo missions count as planetary science, Jake? Does Apollo 17 even count? as a planetary science mission. Where would you fall on that question, Jake? I would say no. You would say it's not. That's not why they did it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:20 I'm going to, you know, that's going to be my one that I save in case I'm really hurting for other answers here. Yeah, there's a lower hanging fruit. New Horizons made the list for sure. Number three answer, New Horizons. 18 points on the board. All right, we did opportunity, curiosity.
Starting point is 00:31:35 I mean, perseverance was fresh in people's minds. and now if I can remember how to spell perseverance. It's perseverance. Number six. What? It makes me think, you know, is Spirit the total outcast, Jake? Or is it included?
Starting point is 00:31:49 Was there any spirit lovers? People loved Opportunity. Did they like spirit? Free spirit, baby. Did they like it? Did they hate it? Oh, this is interesting. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:00 I'm going to go show me Viking. Nothing. Nothing. I get the strike for that one. It's doing great. I'm doing great at the sound there, sir. All right, one strike. Three things left.
Starting point is 00:32:18 All right, Galileo maybe. The Jupiter fans out there, Galileo, nothing. Two strikes. I should hit the button because then the audio listeners will know that there was a strike. Oh, shit, I'm really in some deep trouble here, Jake. What else gets a lot of love? You know, we got...
Starting point is 00:32:38 Because there's so many answers, but what gets the love? Do people love the Venera missions? Venera? Venera? How do you actually say that? Venera? I don't know why my brain's getting crossed up. I wonder if that gets some love.
Starting point is 00:32:55 You know, landing on Venus? I'm going for it. Venera! No. Nothing. Nothing. I'm out. All right.
Starting point is 00:33:04 For the steel, the number two answer still on the board, which has something between 18 and 28% vote. So there's a very obvious thing that we're missing. I think we were looking back too much. I'm going to go for Dragonfly. Oh, all right. Dragonfly on the board number five, Voyager. That is not, I guess it is a planet science mission, but nobody thinks of it like that.
Starting point is 00:33:26 And ingenuity rounding out the top eight answers, Jake. Interesting. Score 294 for Jake to 108. And moving on. Round seven. If you had to work at one NASA Center. question mark. It doesn't say which one is it.
Starting point is 00:33:42 It just says if you had to work at one NASA center, question mark. I'm Ron Burkid. All right, I'm going, man. We got a lot of rocket nerds who might say Kennedy. This is a silly one because there's only 10 centers and there's eight answers on the board here. So it's really just guess the two least popular ones. Yeah, right. All right.
Starting point is 00:34:06 I'm going JPL because I think we got a lot of those kind of nerds. number one answer on the board. Jake's right. There's eight things. I can name all the NASA centers. So I bet I can figure this out. Show me, Kennedy. All right, Kennedy's Bay Center.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Number two answer. We did just eliminate almost all of the votes, though. I'm at 93 points with two answers, and there's six answers left. The long tail is, like, people who live next door to another center. That's really it. There's a lot of people in the Bay area.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Show me Ames. Number four. And that's another seven. I'm at 100 points already. So I don't know how this works. It's only 100 points per question, right? I don't know. Somebody, whoever developed this application.
Starting point is 00:34:58 This is just AI slop. Who knows what it adds up to it? Holy shit. Yeah, because the next answer is between 7 and 45 per this. Maybe it's not. Oh, maybe it's out of 164? maybe it didn't condense it down to percentages. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:35:15 It just did it at 164. I guess we'll find out on this one because I can tell you that also a lot of people live near Goddard. Number three answer on the board. All right. All right. So I guess we have to say Johnson be part of the mafia. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:32 You know. Now the question is, was it called Armstrong at the time? Or was it not called NASA Armstrong? I think it had already been renamed Armstrong, the number eight answer on the board, Jake. This, in hindsight, was a ridiculous question. Yeah, this is dumb. Yeah, I mean,
Starting point is 00:35:51 but now I'm at 50-50 shot. You know, where these are not included. I guess two likes tennis. Okay, I bet a lot of you lived there. Wow, this is interesting. All right, now it's... Because there's like, there's still like a pretty, two pretty big ones on the board that are not on the board yet.
Starting point is 00:36:13 I know. I'm not going for a... So like one of the big ones is not in the top eight. Doesn't get love. But what demographically would cause this? You know? Are we biased against the South? Maybe.
Starting point is 00:36:29 Now see, the problem is, Jake, I'm trying to shoot this little keyhole that I'm seeing. And all I can think of is I bet there's people that like this. show that love rocket launches and they want to say wallops and and i'm wondering if i should say wallops does that count does not count but see i know it's not one but i think our listeners would have said that so that's yeah yeah yeah two more guesses two more guesses one more answer someone said headquarters no nobody wants to work at headquarters you could lose this i could lose this but now I'm like, oh shit.
Starting point is 00:37:18 How could I lose this, though? There's still two big ones. I don't know, but like... It's a coin toss. Is people want to work in Ohio and go to Glenn? Like, is that where they want to be? Is it? It's awkward.
Starting point is 00:37:46 It's awkward, but now I've put myself in a situation by trying to intercept my way into the listener's head. The whole time I've had luck by guessing population centers, and there's a lot of people that live in and around Glenn that listen to this show. I'm going Glenn, not on the board. All right, Jake. You're up, baby. Talking shit the whole time about this.
Starting point is 00:38:05 Do I get three chances or just one? No, you get one chance. Langley. Show me Langley. Not on the board. Marshall got the love. That was the coin toss. Marshall and Langley.
Starting point is 00:38:18 I figured all the people that liked Marshall would have worked at Stennis. How did Marshall? Okay. Langley's probably two as well, like right after on number nine. Probably. Obviously, wallops was headquarters, definitely. So yes. All right. Well, nobody gets any points. So Anthony pulls a little closer. Two-94 to 232. I was also very curious if like Michoud was going to show up on there because I know. I know. That's my. Yeah. All right. All right. Your answer, Jake. What is the ugliest rocket? Very fun one. Okay. Hmm. Ugliest rocket. We do have some Brits in the answer and they are very self-deprecating. So I'm wondering.
Starting point is 00:39:00 if maybe Black Arrow is going to be on there. I'm thinking, thinking. Feels like too low, though. Ugliest rock. We talk about this a lot. We talk about this so much. I'm a little embarrassed that you've thought this long. Ugliest rocket.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Now I'm wondering what I'm missing. You get in your head with these things, man. I know you do. Well, let's go with, um, no, get in trouble. What are you going to get in trouble for?
Starting point is 00:39:51 Calling people out? Is that you saying? Let's do, gosh, I don't know anymore, man. Let's do shit. Can't think of one ugly rocket out of eight. I think a lot of them are ugly, but I can't think of which one is the ugliest.
Starting point is 00:40:13 I'm trying to get high on the board here. Right, yeah, yeah. I mean, at this point, providing show content is also good. Yeah, yeah, yes. It is. It's true. It's true. All right. Let's go with New Shepherd. New Shepherd. All right. Let's see. Number one answer. Holy crap. I never would have thought that, Jake. We're going to play or pass? I'm going to pass. Yeah. You're passing? All right. Ari and four. Very ugly rocket. Only the number three answer. 15 people, I guess this is. I think there's a lot of shuttle haters out there. Shuttle. No. Okay. I think some people
Starting point is 00:40:51 think it's beautiful, some people think it's ugly. It looks like no one thinks it's ugly. No one thinks it's ugly. Zero people, at least fewer than three, probably, think that it's ugly. This is tougher when you actually think about it. Yeah. Some of the, the, Antares is not good looking. We always forget about it, but it's not specifically ugly. I think Vulcan, because was this, this was pre-volcan, did we know at this point that Vulcan was not going to have the paint job paint's job we all knew that but like
Starting point is 00:41:24 i don't know uh i'm going more historical aries one x again aries one the number two answer makes me wonder if the liberty rocket is on this show me not liberty liberty liberty no not on the board damn um gslv is not a good looking rocket so gslv Not on the board. God. To steal, Jake, you've got a lot in front of you. Over a hundred people still remaining in this part of this question. Man, okay.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Well, let's try. Let's try Angara. Okay. Angara. Not on the board. We got Thor, Atlas, SLS, Black Arrow. could have gone there, Jake. And Proton.
Starting point is 00:42:25 You're right. The Able ones were really silly looking. Abel's because of the weird little skinny upper stage. Yeah, they had like the little bulbous top, right? Yeah. All right. This game has tightened up, Jake. Hey, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:38 I don't understand the proton thing. I don't understand that. It's weird looking, but it's not ugly. Again, I think that one, that one's cool because it's got a cool color scheme. So I don't, I don't count that as ugly, but I'm not. got a gorgeous boom as well. That's true. Because of that peroxide fuel.
Starting point is 00:42:58 There it is. Helps you. What did you say earlier? Put it on your cuts or something. Yeah, I do. All right. Oh, my gosh. What is your all-time favorite off nominee?
Starting point is 00:43:09 Holy shit. This is the hardest question of the round because we need eight answers from half the life of off nominees ago. Yeah. Okay. How many had we done by 2023? more than you think because we keep being shocked how many years we've done it. I guess they don't have to win, right? They're just an off-nominy.
Starting point is 00:43:32 Yeah. You're up. You're up. Did the power slide happen before or after that? I think it was before, right? I mean, I got a good chance if I just type in Astra that I'm going to get something on the board. So I'm going to go Astra. Power slide. Number two answer, Jake. Ten people. This is a very long tale. the number two answer is 10 people, which makes me nervous for us being successful.
Starting point is 00:44:00 The daggering. I don't know how to- I don't know how to type on that, just dagger, I guess. That's what we called it though. We called it that. But I think that's what people would have typed. Hopefully.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Go for it. Show me dagger. Nope, not on the board. Not on the board. I'm going to play. I'm going to be a player here. And I'm going to say that the, The time that the, this is tough because they're all very long.
Starting point is 00:44:28 Like the solar panel cube sat. That one. Solar panel cube sat, not on the board. I don't think we're going to get any of this. Yeah, they're not going to be described properly, right? Soyuz MS 10 on the board with one person as the last answer. Soyuz MS-09, not on the board. I just figuring people would remember that.
Starting point is 00:44:56 I don't know. Hmm. I still think that... There was a starship. Which of a... Oh, oh, dude, the boaters. The DM2 boaters. DM2 boaters.
Starting point is 00:45:11 Florida boaters on the board. So fuzzy is pretty fuzzy. That's good. Number three answer, Florida boaters. What is the number one answer here? What happened that we did the first off nominees? Like, what was it about that? year.
Starting point is 00:45:32 I don't remember. You know? Had there been a lunar lander? When was the first clips landing? I don't think there had been. No? No clips at that point? Wasn't that like 24?
Starting point is 00:45:49 I don't know. Or at least 23? At least 23. Yeah. Yeah, you're probably right. All right. Well, in that case, I'm going to guess a starship because there was a lot of them that happened before that.
Starting point is 00:46:01 I think S&8 was. was a really good one because it was beautiful and an epic explosion. So we're going to go S&8, not on the board. Not on the board. Okay, I'm going to go for a gutsy strategy here. I still think that my dagger answer was right and we just didn't hit the fuzzy match. I'm going to put in knife. Knife.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Knife, not on the board. Naulka. Anthony. What's Anthony? Bezos, Shatner, Oleg Artemyev. That's the one. Lori Garver. What is that about him?
Starting point is 00:46:30 maybe somebody misunderstood no because this is driven by a CSV file Jake this is as people type there the Anthony one that's the one no that's the one where I declared that the Atlas 5 will never be sold commercially and the next morning they sold five of them or nine of them
Starting point is 00:46:50 now Ouka that was the one that we should have but I should have gotten two more points because Ola Gartemiev was the one who threw unless that was the other time he was nominated not the solar bill Yeah, he has been up there twice. But I think the second one was after this. All right.
Starting point is 00:47:04 I took the lead on that one. It's a 2-904. Round 10. Here we go. What is your favorite rocket engine, Jake, with the answer. Let's do Merlin. Merlin, good answer. And on that note, I had Tom Mueller on Miko yesterday.
Starting point is 00:47:22 So everyone go listen to that. Merlin. Number three, answer, 27. Obviously, Jake, it is the F1. Oh, the number four answer, 25. So Jake gets the choice. Pass or play. All right.
Starting point is 00:47:37 I'm going to play. Let's do. Play it. Good. Raptor. Raptor. Number one answer. Nice. Damn. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Let's do R.S.25 or SSME. Put them both in there. RS25. Get that. Oh, all right, right. Nice. Let's do RL10. The number two answer is RS-20.
Starting point is 00:47:57 That's kind of crazy. RL 10. Yes, the number six answer. That deserves a place there. I'm with that. Let's do B.E4. BE4. Wow, would have been before they started flying or right when they started flying.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Forget when Vulcan was. I think it was after. Jeez. B.E4. Not on the board. Right, okay. Let's do, geez, that's tough. Let's do the
Starting point is 00:48:35 I want to go for like a historical one I'm trying to scale it down I think I think scale it down Jake You're all doing big beefy engines There's a lot of smaller engines out there Yeah but talk of favorites There's one person who I had on a podcast I should say designed two of these engines
Starting point is 00:48:55 That are on the board and there's a third one that's not on here And I feel like it's a good thing No one's gonna guess castoral come on No not that one Thinking about a Draco or something You know that's what I'm thinking You don't think attitude control No?
Starting point is 00:49:10 I'm just trying to think of what people would obviously answer. Also, all the Russians. You're missing all the Russians. Yeah, well, I was thinking about that. I'm trying to remember if I can get all the numbers right. No, you're no chance. You get the numbers, right? Because the Alice one was RS 1.
Starting point is 00:49:24 RD. RD 1-128, 168, one of those. 180, right, okay. I don't know if people, I think people were mad about that engine, though. Let's do Rutherford. Okay, Rutherford. Nice. The number five answers.
Starting point is 00:49:39 are eight people. All right. A couple of Kiwis out there. All right. Shit, this is getting there into that tail now. Well, let's do the RD-180 then. Let's go for it. Already 180.
Starting point is 00:49:56 Not on the board. Damn, I would have thought it would have been. This is tough. I got to get this. Come on, come on, okay. What's your vibe, historical or modern? What's your, give me your thought process? Well, I'm trying to think of what engines people know.
Starting point is 00:50:26 And I think that, like, how many people are going to know, like, the serial number of the N1 rocket or, like, you know, or even the proton for that matter. I know the N1. I know the name of the N1, if you would like it. It was the NK33. I don't think that was anyone's favorite. It had that crazy. I don't think so either. Only reason I liked it was that weird angle in the plumbing, the super sharp, like, more than 90 degree angle or less than, I guess.
Starting point is 00:50:48 and I'm thinking about Saturn so you got J2 J2X was the Ares version of that you got the Delta was that RS2 68 68 or something RF 68 yeah you got the Apollo
Starting point is 00:51:08 the descent engine The command module engine The SPS O All right I'm gonna trust you're gonna go with Draco let's do it Let's try it. Draco.
Starting point is 00:51:22 Running out of the answers here. Oh, well, you've at least stolen the answer I was going to use to steal, so that's good for me, and maybe good for you when I can't think of anything. I feel like there's people that just love the N1, and they would say the NK33. What was the name of the one on the C-Dragon? Was that ever a thing? NK33 on the board.
Starting point is 00:51:54 Yes. NERVA, rounding out the top eight. Nerva. Jared Ozyman did respond to our questionnaire three years ago. All right, I've taken a commanding lead here, Jake. You did. We're coming down the home stretch.
Starting point is 00:52:12 I don't think I can make that up. We got a little bit left. We started coming after the top of the hour here. We only are 52 minutes. So we have probably a question. question or two left. So let's see, round 11. What is the best Mars mission? Holy shit. All right, the best Mars mission. That's going to be embarrassing if I lose this one, isn't it? This is. I'm definitely, even though I win,
Starting point is 00:52:37 passing it because I want the pressure to be on you for both the show and personal reasons. I'm trying to remember the best planetary, right? Curiosity, you were right, did get top billing on that other one. But there's some suckers out there for imagery. And so, but then, damn, you're going to run out of rovers either way. Ingenuity, only the number four answer. I've given you a nice 50-50 shot here to get above me.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Let's do curiosity. Let's go for it. I'll get it right one way or another. I mean, that's definitely in the top three. That is the number two answer. Would you like to play? All right, let's play. Let's play. Perseverance.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Perseverance, the number three answer. Somehow the number three answer, even though it has more than the number two answer, but It's persevered slash something. I wonder what the slash is. Oh, yeah. If it's ingenuity, it's going to be some minute. It might be called like Mars 2020 or something. Oh, yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 00:53:39 Opportunity. The number one answer, 27 people, which is definitely not the number one answer because Perseverance has 28, but we're going to move on. with our life. Let's do Spirit. Got to do the rovers. All the surface missions will be on this. Nobody likes Spirit.
Starting point is 00:53:56 I knew it. I knew it when I asked you earlier. All right. Let's do Mars reconnaissance's orbiter. That was the one I was thinking of. Are you okay with me typing MRL? Sure. Okay.
Starting point is 00:54:08 MRO, the number six answer. Four people. Okay. Let's do. I'm trying to figure out if people will be crazy enough to say Beagle too. I mean,
Starting point is 00:54:24 it wasn't the same people that said V2, I'll tell you that much. The goddamn Brits are in the chat, man. The Brits are in the chat. Yeah, the Black Arrow types
Starting point is 00:54:32 are definitely in there. It says best, though. I don't think anyone would classify that as the best. No, probably not. All right, let's do
Starting point is 00:54:43 the Mars Odyssey. Let's do that one. Odyssey. Not on the board. Unbelievable. I don't know if this is unbelievable. Maven? Maven, man, you're just missing the obvious one.
Starting point is 00:55:04 I'm going for my steel on Viking. Pathfinder, I thought that might be on there. And Mariner 4. Mariner 4, you're out of practice, Jake. All right. What is your favorite rocket? A very classic one to end on, Jake. We'll see how many we get there.
Starting point is 00:55:23 See if you can blow through this one, Jake. Can you guess everyone's favorite rocket? Falcon 9. Falcon 9. Let's see if you got the top answer. You do. Are you playing? Yeah, let's go for it.
Starting point is 00:55:34 You have to play. You have to play. Catch up here. Starship. Starship. The number five answer, only 11 people. Nice. Atlas.
Starting point is 00:55:44 Atlas. Wow. Not on the board. Close the stream. Shut it down. This is an atrocity. Al is not on the board. All right, Falcon Heavy.
Starting point is 00:55:58 Falcon Heavy, the number three answer, 15 people. All roads lead through the letter S, Jake. Yeah. Two sum with the letter S. All right, let's do Saturn. Thank you. Just Saturn? Yeah, just put Saturn.
Starting point is 00:56:23 Saturn 5 is the number to answer. And we'll do shuttle. Shuttle. number six answer 10 people I can't believe Alice is on there I'm so I'm so shook three answers left number four seven and eight so that's
Starting point is 00:56:50 kind of tricky I'm gonna swing for the fences here and say SLSS not on the board shocker I kind of thought that would be to be honest I thought at least 10 people would say like I like it one of the one of the little long tail ones yeah shit
Starting point is 00:57:07 it's kind of crazy that it's not but we don't have any of those people in this show that respond to this form? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Star is that Atlas? No one's going to say Delta. Let's try Vulcan.
Starting point is 00:57:25 I don't know. Are you sure? This is your last guess. Yep. All right. Vulcan, not on the board. The way I was thinking was if Saturn 5 is there, do people have a lot of nostalgia for that era? I was thinking about going Titan or something.
Starting point is 00:57:43 But then there's no way this is all U.S. right? Yeah. So do I go Electron or do I go, do I go historical? Like people love a Coral of Cross, you know? The V2 could be on here again. Same six people.
Starting point is 00:58:03 It was sickos. I think Electron had a lot of love at the time. Electron, the number four answer. Delta 4 heavy and Delta 2. So you would have gotten, I don't know what actually would have happened. You would have gotten one of those. Yeah, Delta 2 is up there for sure. All right.
Starting point is 00:58:18 Here we have it. Well, you crushed me, bud. 665 to 294. It was a come from behind victory. Was it 294 to nothing? And then I went... At one point it may have been, yes. I think it might have been.
Starting point is 00:58:31 If you were disappointed about the sound effects breaking, tell Claude. If this was the space race, I was definitely Russia in this game. You were definitely, definitely Russia in this. Nice early win and then literally nothing. Man. Well,
Starting point is 00:58:48 I think we're still in that time period where we're trying to see what the hell next week is. Yeah. Because we're either on the verge of an actual launch attempt or not. I guess we'll know. Well, we're recording this one day early. So as you hear this might be rollout day, right? They're thinking Thursday, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Could be. Yeah. We've got some stuff cooking that people will enjoy. We'll see if it survives the journey. Oh, my God. Don't accept that. Wasn't even anyone's favorite rocket, so. Who are we going to offend?
Starting point is 00:59:22 Who are we going to offend? I don't fall over on the way there, you know, my nightmare. This could be that moment. I know. Geez. Be a real humdinger. Well, at least we're flying three in the next four years after that. At least.
Starting point is 00:59:32 Yeah. There'll be plenty. All right. All right, y'all. They're hardware rich again. See you. Bye. One, two, three, four, five, four, three, two, one, end of death.
