BBC Sounds, music, radio, podcasts.
Hello and welcome to Off The Telly from BBC Sounds.
I'm Natalie Cassidy.
And I'm Joanna Page.
And this is the podcast where we have a catch-up about the telly
and what we've been watching this week.
You're so behind me, by the way. There's such a lag.
There's such a, yeah, there's such a lag as well, right?
There's like such, I can hear myself laugh
and then I can see then when it gets to you.
And there's just such a massive pause, isn't there?
I know, it's really off-putting, but I think we're doing all right.
Do you know something?
Before I say this, I think we need to tell the listeners
what a nightmare it's been filming remotely tonight, recording
remotely. It's been absolutely
horrible. I think it's been the first time
that I thought I was going to
cry. We couldn't get
on. We couldn't cheer ourselves. We couldn't
do any of it.
I could cheer you. You couldn't cheer me.
Then I had this buzz in my ear and it
was just, it went on for so long that
I actually was trying to close everything down.
And then I thought, I think I'm going to start crying.
And then I thought, I think I might just run away.
Because it was just, it was so hard.
Just not come back to me.
Yeah.
And even now you're a little bit behind me.
So if I'm always interrupting Jo in this episode, right,
it's because there's a lag between the Zoom
and what we're recording on.
I'm not being rude.
Yeah, and if I'm talking over her all the time, it's because she can't hear when I'm
coming in or anything. So I'm just looking at your face and just trying to judge when to come in.
I was going to say that you always talk over me, Jo.
No, it's true.
Now, there could be a little bit of effing and blinding well you might ruin a few
shows but that's what it's about so you know like it or lump it to be honest yeah i think that's how
i'm feeling very much this week i am as well what do you think it is that's really how I feel, Jo. Like it or lump it. I'm tired.
I've just come back to Cardiff again
because I had one day off where I went back to the children.
It was honestly like walking back into the house was lovely, right?
Because, James, the house was spotless.
It was really lovely.
He's been looking after them really well.
But walking back was like somebody had taken me to the zoo just opened a padlock and thrown me in with like a
whole cage full of lions and gone there you are just get on with it i'm exhausted and bow has
turned into a demon what whilst you've been away she's changed no apparently right she hasn't
changed she's been like really really good and they've all been great i think it's me just jumping myself back into it again
i've made her go really quite doolally and oh my god she hasn't stopped shouting she hasn't
stopped shouting at me i feel like i've been put somewhere and i've been bullied constantly for
like the entire time it's where she's so excited joe it's where she's so
excited to see you this is what happens with kids you want to walk back in and it'll be like perfect
but because they haven't seen us for a while because we're working really hard they just go
absolutely nuts and then you feel terrible because everything was going swimmingly well before you
came home i know i mean you go there and they're all really excited and happy to see you and then that then
sort of goes and then they start being really angry towards you because you've not been there
and she's just like oh my god she shouted at me so much she has shouted at me so much but in the
space of nipping back for a day I've managed to be with all of them play with all of them
honest to god oh and then in the space of just going back for a day i managed to get james to bring everything down from the
attic all of the winter clothes i got all of the summer clothes from everybody's wardrobe
bagged them all up got them up in the attic and i put all of the winter clothes on your day off
yeah i did it on my day off and when i got into bed i did actually think i can't believe this
right that i've had one day off and i've
spent as much time as i can with the kids and when they've gone to bed practically all through the
night that is what i've done just to get that ordered and that sorted so when i next go back
home we can all just relax and have fun but i am on my arse she's on her knees i've gone further than the knees I'm fully on the arse Oh my god
You're back in Wales now right?
Yeah
How's it going down there?
Are you just super busy every day?
It's been so much fun filming
I'm just having a whale of a time
and there's just like so many memories
it just takes me back to when we first started
17 years ago
and you just think oh my gosh so much time
has passed um and you know we've all like changed so much and we've got families and we've done all
sorts and everything but suddenly all being back together it's just it's just like you know we've
never really been away and it's it's just I'm having a really really good time and I feel like
I'm quite blessed and very very lucky that I get to pop home and see my family and, you know, have a laugh.
And then I come here and it's kind of it's not like work.
I'm just, you know, going off and just having fun.
Oh, it's so brilliant.
So, so brilliant.
I'm so jealous.
I just cannot wait to see it all.
Everybody is waiting.
The whole of the world is waiting for this episode.
You don't understand.
Well, and also, when we were filming down the slots,
we did get to eat quite a bit of ice cream,
and it was really, really nice.
Yeah, there was one which was like a bounty flavour.
That was gorgeous.
Oh, gorge.
What about you?
What's been happening with you?
What's going on?
Well, I could make you a bit jealous this week.
Oh, God.
What have you been up to?
I have had a week.
You've been in a bloody gallery, haven't you?
You've been in a gallery.
So I just had a week, Jo.
Yeah.
Where I've done some school runs.
I've done some drop-offs.
I've done some pick-ups.
I've made some dinners.
Although I've been busy busy it has been busy
I went to an art gallery
I walked around an art gallery
on my own
which is something I love to do
and it's just been really nice
getting ready
for three weeks of
chaos
yeah
because I'm doing the documentary
over the next few weeks
and I am ridiculously busy.
So I've been saving the time.
It's quite local this week,
which is good.
It's all drivable
and means that I am coming home,
albeit 8.30, whatever, 9 o'clock.
But I just think
people think what we do is very glamorous,
don't they, all the time?
Yeah.
And we are really lucky.
It's not.
We are really lucky, aren't we?
But the hours are so long that it's the whole day.
It's not a 9 to 5.
Well, yeah, I'll be getting up at 5 tomorrow to get get to set but it is good fun but it is it well
I think it's like that for all working mums isn't it it's just juggling all the time all the time
all the time but it was lovely to take myself off to a nice art gallery and just have an hour to
myself it was in between a couple of meetings but it was just so nice to just have some time.
And I thought, I do need...
It was a bit like when we were talking last week.
I do feel that I need to find a cloning machine.
Yes.
Definitely.
Shall we have a little listen to some of our listeners,
see what they've got to say?
Oh, yeah. Let's see what they've got to say this week.
Well, Jo, there's one here, right, from Trudy,
which I know you're going to love.
Listen to this.
Oh.
I'm sending this voice note in to tell Jo about a coat,
a detective coat that I think she'll like.
When you get to the final or the current series season
of Only Murders,
Selena Gomez has an amazing beige pleated mac
and it's super cool.
One of the best detective coats I've seen.
Jo, that sounds right up your street.
That is because I'm still,
Only Murders in the Building is now my new favourite programme,
along with Colin from Accounts.
And Selena Gomez in the first series
is wearing that fluffish sort of orange, you know, like bear-like one.
So I'm already loving the coat she's wearing now.
So until we get to the beige pleated mark,
I mean, oh, my God, that would be fab.
One thing I'm really looking forward to this week, Jo,
is there's a lot of travelling involved
so I'm in the car a lot
there's a lot of toing and froing from different places
so I'm going to tonight download
a few murders in the building
couple of other bits and pieces
and I will have quite a lot of tele-watching time
so are you really enjoying murders in the building?
oh my god I'm still watching it
these two things now are the things
that I'm watching all the time.
Only Murders in the Building
and Colin from Accounts,
my two favourite programmes.
Right, before we get on to talking
about anything more though
with Colin from Accounts,
we've got another voice note
and this one is from Dee
and it's about our Villains episode.
Oh, brilliant.
I just wanted to say,
I can't believe that nobody has mentioned,
was it Nasty Nick from EastEnders?enders you know that nick cotton um years ago i'm showing my age now but that was really horrible to his poor old mum dot nobody's mentioned him i don't think unless
i've missed it and i can't believe it because he's got to be one of the nastiest characters ever
anyway i really enjoy listening to your pod every week and um yeah giving me some inspiration to
watch what would be really good is um maybe some recommendations for kids telly.
I know obviously we're adults, but I struggle sometimes to get something that I can watch with my six year old and my 12 year old that they'll both enjoy.
So I'd love your thoughts on that.
Thanks.
That's true.
He was like one of the original villains.
Nasty neck.
Oh, my.
Ma. nasty neck oh my ma he was so good he was so awful to dot wasn't he and she just kept loving him
just kept loving him so much love to give so forgiving you see so forgiving was our Dot. But every time he came back, he did a Hello, Ma!
He did.
And his dark hair. He looked
like a rat, didn't he?
Yeah, with his leather jacket on.
Poor old Dot.
Nasty Nick. I don't know.
And can I just say, I'll say it again,
Dee,
Dodger, Dodger, Dodger.
Oh, I still haven't seen that. We are going to have to do that. Oh, I still haven't seen that.
Right, we are going to have to do that one day
because I still haven't seen it.
You've got to watch Dodger.
Joni's been watching it again this week.
It is absolutely sublime.
Do you know, Eva's watching Modern Family all the time.
I can't stop her from watching it.
So I'm going to ease her off that and say,
right, come on then, we've got to put Dodger on.
Well, we've had a lot of Friday night dinner on this week as well.
And I've got a tiny story that I've got to say.
What, what?
Well, some of the Friday night dinners are very inappropriate.
They're all inappropriate for Joanie.
But the other day I was talking to Mark and I said, oh, Eliza...
I wasn't even going to say anything bad.
It was about make-up and I think I was going to moan and say,
you know, I think her make-up was a little bit too much for school today
or whatever, I was just having a conversation.
And I said, well, to be honest, you know, I don't know,
Eliza just looked a bit...
And Jodie went, like a prostitute.
Oh!
And me and Mark...
Oh, my God!
Me and Mark genuinely, we really didn't want to laugh.
And I said,
Joni, that is really bad and that's from Friday night dinner, isn't it?
And she just sort of looked at me, smirked.
Oh, my God.
So I've got to wean her off it.
She's got to stop watching it.
She's only eight.
Oh, my God.
Well, we are going to have to do that because you've talked about it so much and it sounds so
good and I can't believe I still haven't seen it. So we are going to have to do that in the
next couple of weeks. Definitely. 100%. 100%. I can't wait to get onto the shows. I really,
really want to talk to you about coming from accounts. And I know that you want to talk about
the 12. Well, I want to talk about the 12 as well, actually. Well, to be honest, I don't want to talk to you about coming from accounts and I know that you want to talk about the 12. Well, I want to talk about the
12 as well, actually. Well, to be honest, I don't
want to talk about the 12. Somebody recommended
it to me and so I was expecting
it to be, like, amazing.
I thought it was
just like it wasn't what I thought
it was going to be like. But we'll talk about that
later. Jojo, let's
talk about, save it, save it,
but we've got to talk about Strictly.
Do you know, right, I've never had anybody as close as when,
like a proper true friend who has done Strictly.
I've seen people I kind of know and whatever,
but this is like my friend.
And I do
have to say I was I was so nervous I was so excited I was sending him messages literally
before the show went live and then I mean I was constantly voice noting him as he was walking
down the stairs as he was doing a little dance when they're waiting as he was sitting on the
sofa chatting to Tess and Claudia constantly sending him voice notes going oh my god I'm
pissing myself.
I can't believe I've seen you walking down the stairs.
I thought it was hilarious.
Oh my God, I'm absolutely loving it.
So the first step started 20 past seven.
It was on BBC on Saturday and I am there.
Well, I had a birthday party,
family birthday party yesterday afternoon.
So I got in later and watched it with Eliza a little bit later on.
And I have to say, sorry, Jamie.
I've not even texted Jamie yet to tell him what I thought of it.
I genuinely haven't.
Are you serious?
But that is because he will be bombarded, right?
Everyone on there, not making you feel bad, because it's exciting.
But I think because I've done it,
I'm telling you, Jamie will not be,
I don't think, in the mood
for me to continuously talk about it.
And because we're very close,
I kind of just want to give it a day or two
and I'll give him a little call on Tuesday about it.
But I loved Wynne.
I watched Wynne and I thought,
hey, no wonder I can see you and him being friends.
I thought, you'd be my friend.
You are brilliant.
You're funny.
He just came over absolutely fantastic.
I thought the same about Jamie.
I've never, ever met him
and I thought, what a lovely fella.
He seems so kind and so lovely.
He's just got such a lovely, he's just got such a lovely personality. He seems so kind and so lovely. He's just got such a lovely,
he's just got such a lovely personality.
He's a really nice fella.
And I thought he was funny.
I thought he was lovely.
Oh my God, I did laugh when Pete Wick said,
you know, I may as well throw myself into it
because I'm not going to ever be here again
unless I'm Jamie.
Oh my God, I did laugh.
I thought, right, what a lovely group of people.
This year, more than any year I think I've ever seen,
has already got so much banter.
They seem like a really nice group.
Chris McCausland.
Well, Chris.
Oh my God, he was hilarious.
Hilarious.
Absolutely brilliant.
But can I say, I was very defensive at home over Jamie.
Yeah?
I know they were joking,
but I'm going to put the record out there and I don't care.
Get over the fact that he did the Christmas show
because it's nothing like the real show.
You're there for two hours or something.
It's just you're making an entertainment show for an hour.
It's nothing like it at all.
And everyone needs to stop talking about it
because it's getting on my nerves.
Well, I thought that, right,
and I think they will get over it and stop teasing him
because I thought on the Christmas one, you are given one dance, one song.
That is it, right?
So the Christmas is you just learn this dance.
That's your lot.
I mean, you know, he is going to have, touch wood, dance after dance after dance.
And the thing that freaks me out is you perform on the Saturday.
You find out, you know, if you've got through on the Sunday
and then the rest of the week, you've only then got like a couple
of days to learn like the samba or something then.
Yes.
Which is unbelievable.
You've only got about three days to learn it.
Put in on top of that all of the VTs and all the filming you've got
to do and visiting your old school or visiting your friends.
And the work because he's not left, you know, he's still at EastEnders.
So, you know, it's busy it's a busy time it is hard
but I don't think I've ever seen a year
where there has been so much banter
so many gags
so much fun and mickey taking
and joking with each other
I was sitting there thinking I've never ever watched
Strictly before for the banter
and for people making me laugh
I've tuned in because i've
thought oh god i wonder what this celebrity's like in real life or i'd love to see this one
dancing or i really like this dancer yeah i've never tuned in because i think oh it's going to
be a riotous laugh and i and i thought my god i am going to tune in because win's making me laugh
jamie is just gorgeous chris is making me laugh pete wicks i love him he's so funny he's so dry
and so funny.
Yeah.
I am going to be tuning in for the laughs, you know,
because they're all, I think they're a brilliant group.
Well, what I really loved about it is the launch show changed this year.
So the launch show for me over the last few years,
may I say it, may I not, but I'm going to like it a lump it week.
The launch show in the past has been a bit like a dating show
whereas now yeah you've got the vts of how they meet each other and then they're all set on the
sofa and i just think the whole way it's been done this year is so much better and i enjoyed
the launch show a lot more how gorgeous is tasha she's just so pretty in her blue sparkly outfit and her gorgeous blonde hair.
She's so lovely.
Yeah, Shane Ward, I think, would be one to watch
because he seems so lovely and he's talking about winning and stuff
and obviously he's got a family and his little girl loves it
and that's lovely.
But he did say the J word early on, that I'm on a journey type thing.
So I think he could be quite a little bit deep
but we'll see how it goes but I
think they're all brilliant and am I
right, who's Wynne partnered
with? I've forgotten. Kat, yeah
he's with Kat, yeah. Kat, yeah so
he's got a really, that's a really strong one
now Jamie interestingly
has got a newbie
and I always think
Strictly fans are very, very big fans,
not just of the celeb, but of the dancers and the pros.
So I think as much as Jamie can be teased regarding having done it,
he has also got a new pro that nobody knows,
which is also very difficult for the audience to warm to.
Well, yeah, because the audience to warm to so you know well yeah
because yeah the audience have got their favorite dancers haven't they and they like you know the
same ones coming back year after year because you get your favorite ones and um and yeah so i was
thinking that i think he was very pleased because i think he seems to have clicked with her and he
said you are another level so i think she's going to be amazing and she looks fantastic but as an
audience you
know a viewer you like to get to know them don't you you know because there's certain ones who are
my favorites because you kind of know their personality you've watched them for years and
years so yeah it is always difficult when you do have a brand new dancer because the audience has
to get to know them and love them so yeah I agree with you so I feel like whatever Jamie's done
before it balances it out because he's got the new pro.
So I also think they've done well there as well.
So well done, Strictly producers.
Loving it.
Yes, well, I'm going to be tuning in every single week.
Me too.
And I can't wait to get down there and just watch him
because, oh my God, it's just,
I've never had anyone so close in there before.
And then you root for them.
When he started walking down the stairs,
I was just thinking, don't fall, for goodness sake goodness sake just don't fall but it's making me laugh because
I know him and I can tell when he's really nervous but I could tell that he was just he's up for a
laugh he just wants to have fun and I think with Katya I think he'll have a whale of a time I think
she seems like she'll work him really hard but they'll have fun as well oh yeah definitely oh
well I'll bring it on I just thought it was absolutely brilliant.
Really, really good.
Let us know your thoughts on if you love Strictly launch show
and if you're really looking forward to it
because Joanie got up at six o'clock this morning
and watched it on her own
because she fell asleep early last night
because she watches a lot of telly on her own, as you know.
I don't know what she watches.
Yes.
But, yeah, she seemed to enjoy it.
But she'll like it more once the
dancing starts she was a bit bored yes it's a lot isn't it the first ones there's a lot of talking
and then for the children because my lot as well you just kind of want to get up and running and
go right come on then let's get on with the dancing because that's what you're there for
and for the little ones you know they just want the dancing to start don't they yeah and the
scoring and it's just quite easy i think for the little ones to start don't they yeah and the scoring and it's just
quite easy i think for the little ones to follow and all the glitter and the dresses and the music
i think they'll look forward to that for next week i don't think i've ever seen the judges
laughing as much as they were on saturday night with all of the gags and stuff going on
absolutely and also hello what do we think of Craig's new beard? Oh, I know.
Well, my first thought was, is he doing panto this year?
And is he going to have the beard when he's doing panto?
Those were my thoughts.
Of course they were.
Always thinking outside the box, Jo.
Oh, right.
So, what do you think about Strictly?
Please let us know.
Have you got favourite moments from previous series?
What dance are you looking forward to the most?
Who's your favourite dancer?
Who's your favourite pairing?
What are your favourite dances?
What are your favourite memories?
I always remember when Kelly Brock was doing,
I think it was a tango, an Argentine tango or something.
And I always remember,
I can't remember
who she was partnered with,
but I remember she was very sexy
and very serious
and she slapped him at the end
and walked off.
It was very exciting.
I think it was Brendan.
Was it?
I think so.
Oh, those were the days.
Oh, those were the days.
But I'm really glad
that I can never pronounce
his name right.
Is it Alyak?
I think it's Alyak.
I'm glad that he's back.
Alyash.
And he's been partnered with Tasha.
And I think there'll be a cracking partnership.
Oh, I really like him.
Because I always thought if I ever did Strictly,
I bet I'd never be put with him because he's really tall.
And I'm five foot one and a half.
I always thought I'd never be put with him.
There's no point in doing it if you're not with Al Yash.
We haven't mentioned
Jojo
with Johannes and
Fire. Oh my god.
They had a little
boogie last night and I thought, no,
come on now. They are going to be
so good together. They are going
to be fab. She's going to be athletic,
strong, flexible with his dance routines. I mean, the pair of them together are going to be fab. She's going to be athletic, strong, flexible with his
dance routines. I mean, the pair of them
together are going to be cracking because they did.
They had a little bit and they were in close up and they had a little
bit together and I thought, oh, you two are
going to be good. Really, really
good. Really good. And that lovely man who does
on the farm, he's a friend
actually. Mark's best friend's friend.
I've met him at a wedding
before, him and his wife. JB, I've met him at a wedding before him and his wife JB I've met
him at a wedding and had a boogie before funnily enough and I think he's got a few moves so I think
I think he's going to be good as well yes and wasn't it lovely to see Amy back um you know
when she was oh it was just lovely and just seeing her dancing with all of the boys and then when the
girls came in and then just seeing their joy
when the dance ended
and they lifted her up into the air
and I just thought, oh, that's just beautiful.
It's lovely to see her back.
I shed a little tear.
I did shed a little tear
because she was all in bright pink, wasn't she?
And I would imagine that's kind of breast cancer kind of thing.
And I just thought, oh, absolutely amazing.
And it just makes you realise how important it is, all of that stuff, to check early and all of that. I just was thinking absolutely amazing and it just makes you realize how
important it is all of that stuff to check early and all of that I just was thinking of that going
you're amazing you're an absolute superstar she was I just thought I can't actually believe that
you've been through everything that you have been through really quite recently and look at you
you're on the ballroom floor you're doing strictly you're dancing away you're so strong i mean my god she's just incredible
incredible yeah absolutely amazing amazing
shall we have a little chat about the 12 oh god do we have to right so the 12 you can catch it
on itvx yeah i'm almost embarrassed
right to start talking about it right but bear in mind i've not seen all of it because right
it was recommended to me by someone and they said you've got to watch the 12th it's absolutely
amazing it's onto its second series now it's got sam neill in it and i absolutely love sam neill
so i thought right i'm up for this.
I'm assuming that the 12 are going to be the jurors.
So I started watching it.
And then right from the start, I thought, oh, I don't know if this is my cup of tea. Because I felt like everything was being sort of a bit signaled and a bit showy and a bit, I don't know.
It just didn't feel like it was sort of natural and flowy.
I just didn't get into it.
And then it did crack me up.
Yeah.
Did you watch series one or series two?
Just wondering.
I watched series one.
What did you watch?
Series one.
Carry on.
Right, it did make me laugh when the couple were shagging up against that glass door
and they were like really going for it
and then she just stopped
and broke away and went I really don't like this house because it just made me laugh right
because the amount of times I am looking on right move all the time I always want to move house
and it just reminded me of me and James right but in complete opposite right because I'm always
going I was gonna say where are we going
with this house I'm always going shall we move I don't really like this house I don't like this
house I wish we hadn't moved shall we move but without the ferocious shagging beforehand so it
did make me laugh right that I was just like oh my god this is taking me into a conversation that
I have all the time with my own husband and it's making me laugh that there's such ferocious shagging just before she breaks away and just suddenly goes
I really don't like this house just make me laugh I couldn't take it seriously and I couldn't get
through all of it because I thought oh god I kept trying and trying and trying and I couldn't get
into it but part of me wants to keep going and go right okay keep going with it but I can't because I've
now been I've been stolen I've been stolen in the heart and in the mind by Colin from accounts and
if we hadn't been doing that this week then maybe I would have continued but I just kept going I
can't get into it stuff it salt it I'm not doing it I want to watch Colin from accounts so that is
what I thought that's fair enough but you'll be surprised to know that i genuinely i think i need to continue to watch it i really i
really i really like court stuff so from a child you know i just love the court setup
so it immediately gets me.
And I really like the fact that we're learning about each person.
And I had quite a few hours on my own the other evening.
And I'm on to episode four.
Oh, well, it was recommended by someone who did say they thought it was fab. So maybe if I stick with it.
Honestly, I think the acting is really good.
I really like the acting.
I like the different stories.
The 12 jurors are really interesting
and it touches on loads of different subjects.
There's a really lovely black guy in it
who gets pulled over by the police in one episode.
And he's a university student.
He's a juror all day.
He's trying to work really hard.
And these two white policemen pull him over, run him over, basically.
And he's on the floor with his bike.
And they treat him like absolute shit.
And, you know, it just sparks your thoughts, really thought-provoking.
But I thought, yeah, I'm enjoying it.
It's a little bit dark for me.
It's a little bit dark for me.
Oh, well, maybe I should start watching it then,
because that sounds like it might be up my street.
I'm going to give it another... I'm going to continue with it.
I have a little go, because I think you might like it.
And then I thought, oh, have I mucked up here?
Should I have gone on to Series 2?
Because I would imagine Series 2 is just a completely new case, right?
Yeah, I bet it is.
I'm guessing.
But yeah, I didn't mind it.
Well, I think I'm going to continue with it
because it's the sort of thing I normally would like.
And I am interested in all of their different stories.
It's just that I've just been seduced by Colin from Accounts.
How good is Colin from accounts I absolutely love it
and you know what I love the most is that I now know why it's called calling from accounts yeah
I never knew before and everybody was raving about it and I was always kind of like oh god I just
I just thought oh god is it gonna be a bit boring because it's about this fella now and he's an
accountant and he's all you know
and oh my god
it's bloody brilliant
isn't it the best? I love it
I absolutely love it I love Ashley and
Gordon I love Ashley how many
have you watched Jo? Oh Jesus I'm
nearly at the end of series one
but I'm loving it so much
that I'm not allowing myself to completely
sit up all night and binge watch it because i want to week it out and i want to make it last
so right now they've attempted to have sex but he's just had that operation so he couldn't do it
so she's now upset and um she's you know moved out but now the um her friend's grandmother has died oh my god it's
just making me laugh right has died so she's got nowhere to stay and then he's now got back with a
vet who is a vet which i think is just amazing and i am desperately willing them to get back
together so that's where i am now she's just gone back to his place and her ride hasn't turned up
and she's crouched down on the floor and he's going,
look, will you just come in?
I love it. I love it. It's brilliant.
Have you seen, you must have seen,
have you seen the one where he goes on the date
and the date comes back to the house yet?
Yes, yes.
When she drinks all the booze.
Yes, and they're pretending to be brother
and sister oh god it's so good so for anyone who hasn't seen this how do you just it's just a
really brilliant feel-good adult comedy but i just think they've got it so right joe the writing
it's just really conversational yeah everything about it well it's about this couple and they
end up kind of becoming friends maybe something else i'm yet to find out um purely through an
accident involving a dog and that's the beginnings of the rest of what's going to happen and she is
just brilliant she's a lot younger than him and um's just really, oh gosh, she's lovely.
She's so a bit quirky and just, she's so lovely.
I want to look like her.
Me too.
I want her hair.
Oh my God, what about when she was on the toilet
and she couldn't flush the toilet?
Yeah.
It's brilliant.
I love it where they work.
I love it where he works in the beer place.
Yeah.
And I just love that.
And you go in and he's got this big bar
and then he's got the guy behind the bar.
I just think all the characters are brilliant
and you do get to know him a little bit more as well throughout.
But yeah, I just really, really liked it and I love it.
And we've got probably about four left I love it and I'm we've got
probably about
four left of series two
and I'm doing the same
I'm a bit scared
to finish it
I don't want to finish it
so I'm eking it out
but please let us know
what you think of
Crawling From Accounts
because it's bloody brilliant
it's fab
I'm going to sit down
I'm going to watch it all
but then I'm going to sit down
and I'm going to watch it all
with James as well
because he'll love it
he'll just love it
yeah I watch it with Mark as well.
It's brilliant.
It really made me laugh out loud.
Absolutely loved it.
So that was my highlight of the week.
I have to say that I haven't seen a comedy like that
because that comedy,
I know that I say I let my kids watch stuff,
but I wouldn't allow my kids to sit and watch that
because it's not even about...
I don't know, it's just... about i don't know it's just it's there's
nothing kind of childlike in it it's very adult isn't it it's not in a kind of permanently swearing
or permanently shagging sort of way but just all the themes are about adult life and i just don't
think they'd get it and i quite like it for that because i love friday night dinner and i think
we're going to do it next week or the week after or whatever and I can't believe you haven't seen it but there's still that element
of kind of family life and I think I really like this because it's got no kids in it yeah it doesn't
and it's true to life and and what's really good right is that it's absolutely hilarious awkward
awful embarrassing but also really you know moving, moving and heartfelt. Like when she's
really struggling at work and she's pricked her finger and, you know, the dads are just going on
at her all the time and she's really upset and she's got a lot on her plate and it's really
moving, isn't it? Yeah, very much so. Now I'm with you. I think it's absolutely genius. And
yeah, it was quite, because the 12 was Australian, wasn't it, as well?
Yeah, it was.
I mean, when I started watching the 12, I was like,
oh, my God, we are having a full Australian week this week.
I've really enjoyed it and I think there's a lot to come out of there.
Yeah, yeah.
I think there's really good stuff being done in Australia, isn't there?
Really good.
Really, really good.
Yeah, loved it.
Absolutely loved it.
Right, before we go,
what's a recommendation from one of our listeners?
Here we go.
Remember, these can be old or new shows,
comforting classics, big shows,
just whatever you're watching this week.
It hasn't got to be a new thing.
We're going to get back to a bit of basics, aren't we, Jo?
And we think that people love a bit of comfort, Ellie.
And we like going back and, you know,
whatever you're watching, whatever you're watching,
like I've mentioned, we've gone back and, you know, whatever you're watching, whatever you're watching, like I've mentioned,
we've gone back to Dodger this week.
It's really nice just to chat about what we're actually watching
on the telly this week.
Yeah, it can be any genre.
It can be new, it can be old.
I mean, there's so much telly which is just timeless
or that we have favourites and we just watch it over and over and over.
Our favourites that we go back to, stuff that we're watching right now.
I mean, we want to hear it all.
Tell us what you're watching right now.
Exactly. Now let's listen to this voice note from Chrissy,
who is very passionate about her recommendation.
You really need to watch The Split on BBC iPlayer.
There's a new series coming out soon.
It was that good.
I binge-watched the whole of the third series.
Second series? I think it was the third series
no second series
within like ten minutes
like
in one day
like
it is
phenomenal
amazing actors
just fantastic
highly recommend
and
you won't be able
to just watch one
I am a busy
working mum of two
I very rarely find time
to like sit down
and watch something
let alone a whole series
but my God
you will be gripped.
Highly recommend.
When Chrissy said
that she'd watched
a whole series
in ten minutes
I thought we need to
give her a ring
and see how she does that
because that would be
a brilliant, brilliant gift.
Do you know right
I've heard so many people
going on about the split
and I've never seen it
and it's supposed
to be amazing.
And I know it's an old one because they've got a new series coming out soon,
but I know it's an old one, you know, people have been watching it for years,
but I think that would be quite good to go back to and just go, right, come on,
because so many people have just said how wonderful it is.
Well, I think we should do that next week, Jo.
Cool, shall we? And can we do Friday night dinner as well?
Yes, let's do Friday night dinner, the split, and then we'll have a think about the next one.
But I think that's a good plan for next week.
Also, thank you so much to all of you who've sent us voice notes about your favourite reality TV moments.
Now, this is the next theme for our What Shall We Watch bonus episode, and we're going to drop this new episode on Friday.
Can't wait for that one. We love doing the bonus eps.
All I can say is we've had a lot of voice notes
about Big Brother, haven't we, Jo?
Yes, we've had loads.
And I mean, I've got to say that I think
my favourite reality moments are from Big Brother as well.
Yeah, I mean, there are so many classic moments from that show
and we always love hearing from you lovely lot at home.
So please send us your voice notes and messages on WhatsApp.
They can be voice notes about anything we've said in the pod
or whatever you like, really.
The number is 033-06-784-704.
Oh, that's enough from us this week.
We've had a lovely chat and we've been watching
the beginnings of Strictly on the BBC, BBC One,
and you can get it on BBC iPlayer.
Colin from Accounts on BBC iPlayer as well
and The Twelve
on ITVX
Now Matt
you've got a really busy
filming week coming up
I hope it all goes well
and I can't wait
to see you next week
to hear how it's all
been going
Thank you so much Jo
and I really hope
you enjoy this week
and I can't wait
to hear all about it
even though you can't
tell me anything about it
and I get really upset
Oh well thanks for listening, everybody.
Keep an eye out for our What Shall We Watch episode
