really quite easy to do because my mum managed it. This episode is all about your favourite travel shows. We can't wait to hear your voice notes
about this. Jo, another bonus ep.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Alan and Amanda's... Spanish Job! Yeah Spanish Job. Noah, my little one,
absolutely loved it. And Joni loves it too. Oh my god, what is it then about the little small ones loving it?
I really don't know because I'm not sure as an eight-year-old that would have interested me.
I don't know because I mean I remember being small and watching you know Judith Charmers and...
Oh, Holiday! Yeah, Holiday. I did one of those. What? I don't know because I mean I remember being small and watching you know Judith Charmers Oh holiday. Yeah holiday.
I did one of those.
What?
I did a holiday years ago. I think I was about 18 and I went to Los Angeles for the holiday
show.
The holiday show?
Yeah.
Oh my god what happened? What did you do?
Just went out there, went to Malibu, did LA, Hollywood Hills, that sort of thing.
Oh my God, that's amazing.
A few days.
I know.
Oh, you lucky cow.
You say that, but you haven't really got much time to do much.
I tell you what, if somebody said to me for an episode of Holiday Joe, you can go out
and you can go to LA and you can go to Malibu and be like, yeah, I'll be there now.
One thing I will say that I'm saying it was holiday.
Yeah. What was it?
I think it was holiday, but I'd have to Google it. It was so long ago.
Oh my God. But that's really good. I remember being small and watching Judith Charmers and it
was just that reminds me of being little and I used to love that. It's like a nice decent program.
Maybe that is the same. Because at that age we weren't thinking about which destination we were going next, were
we?
Or what sort of hot spot we wanted to go to.
So maybe it is the same sort of thing.
I think the travel shows on these days as well are not just like, oh right, here's the
holiday travel show.
It's kind of like companions like Rylan and Rob going up to Italy or you know Miriam Margulies
and Alan Cumming going around Scotland or somewhere together. Those are the kind of
shows isn't it? Or you'll have like Miriam Margulies going to Australia and those, that's
what they do these days isn't it? We need to get our own thing. Where shall we go? I
tell you what, we should have, we'd go to Italy and I'd drink red wine and you'd tell
me all about paintings. That's what we'd do.
Well that's what Rob and Rylan have done.
Well we'll do the female version.
I think Italy has been a little bit outdone. I think you and I could do one.
Yeah, where should we go?
It's for families.
Yes.
And we take our families.
Yes. And we take our families to wild and wacky places and it's things to do
as a family rather than just two adults going off. I mean really, how many people can do
it? Well I know exactly. I mean how many people in the real world are just going to go, right
family, see you later. See you later, we're off for six weeks now, we're going to Madagascar. You take care,
we're off. Make sure the guinea pigs are fed. See you in six months. I'm just off with my
mates. I did Natalie Cassidy Goes Wild in Australia years ago. Oh my god, I know what
was that, but what was it like? What did you do? How exactly did you go wild? Well I was
in the outback sleeping sort of, you know. Oh you I was in the outback sleeping sort of you know.
Oh you were sleeping in the outback? Yeah I think we were in some sort of kind of place
where they helped the kangaroos if I remember rightly. So lots of volunteers stayed there
you know but it was quite wild. But again I've done a couple of travelogues when I think about it, Jo.
You have actually, you have.
But they're so long ago.
Did you see any spiders out there?
Oh my, that's one thing I do remember.
Oh, what the hell did you see?
I remember sitting on a beautiful deck in the middle of a rainforest, but again, in
these places we were staying, and there was hammocks and people were chilling and there
were board games and things like that. And I looked round, there was a spider as big as your head.
Oh, I don't like it that you hit it in my head.
As big as your head.
I don't like it, it's horrible.
I'm not joking. And I screamed and I jumped and everyone around me was pissing themselves
laughing.
Oh my god!
I said, what are you laughing at? It's huge, it's absolutely, it won't hurt you.
Where was it? Was it on the wall?
It was just on the floor.
Oh for god's sake.
It was so big. And I won't forget that image.
Oh I tell you what, I'd find that very hard to get over. That's horrible.
And then I felt really embarrassed because everyone was like, why are you screaming?
Look at where we are. And they I felt really embarrassed because everyone was like, why are you screaming?
Look at where we are and they won't hurt you. They're harmless. Oh god. I'd hate that. I'd be terrified. Do you know if I went to like Australia or New Zealand or somewhere? Yeah. And I, you know,
and I'd be like having to check to see, you know, check everywhere. I don't even like it in Spain if
you go somewhere and there's a cockroach. Oh god. You know, sometimes in a loo or something, you'll
see one run past. I don't like it Jo.
I remember we went to Spain once, I think we were in Majorca and I remember it was
when I was with my parents and we were in our apartment and there was just that, you
know, trilling noise. It was so, so loud. I remember eventually Dad pulled the bed back
and there was like a cricket that was, I swear to God, it was about like that, it was massive, but it was about that big.
As big as Jo's foot.
Yeah, as big as my foot.
As your sandal.
As my sandal.
That's very good that you've done that because we are actually on a podcast and it's not
helpful at all.
No, it's not.
I know.
When the listener is, well they can't see your hand.
When they can't see my hand I'm'm going see this, it was this big.
Getting back to Alan and Amanda's Spanish job. Yeah. Really wanted to be Amanda in those
dungarees when she smashed the wall down. Oh god yes, yeah. She goes for it. She gets right in doesn't she?
She does, she does. But she always looks so, like, so glad. Oh god. I was watching
her and the one that I was watching, right, she was doing karaoke afterwards and she was
in like this glistening sort of gold and lame kind of dress, these big heels, and I thought
oh I just couldn't, I just couldn't put the heels on. And I know she celebrated a kind
of mid-fifty-ish birthday I believe. Yes, she had, didn't she? She looks incredible.
I saw a photo of her on the internet the other day.
So did I. Swimsuit. Yeah. I can't believe it. Good god, she looked incredible. Yeah.
Yeah. I wonder if when I'm 54, I could just put my head on her body for my Instagram post.
Just put my head on Amanda Holden's body. But when we're 54, our kids will have grown up and then,
my gosh, just like naturally,
we'll just, we won't be so tired. And I think if I'm not so tired, I will miraculously then
have the bikini body of Amanda Holden.
Fine. Let's just go for that.
It's all about tiredness.
Also, Alison Hammond's Florida Unpacked with her son Aidan.
Have you seen, I haven't seen any of that yet.
I haven't seen a thing. But I love Alison Hammond.
She makes me laugh so, so much. And when I met her on the Bake Off, she had so much love
talking about my son Aiden and yeah, what we're up to. And I think it's going to be
really brilliant and heartwarming. Really looking forward to seeing that actually.
Isn't that nice as well? You know, like when your son is older and he's, you know, like,
oh, come on, and just the pair of you go off out and about. I think that's lovely.
I thought about it actually, because I've always wondered about Eliza being on telly with me
and if you should do that with your kids. And I've always been like, oh no, you know,
your kids have got to make it on their own and all that now I think
fuck that. Bradley Walsh has helped his son out brilliant good luck to him. Alison's got her son
on the telly yeah if someone asked me I think I might go for it yeah yeah why not I know because
I got the opportunity we love gladiators right and we watch it every Saturday and you just think look
at the pair of them I mean you know he's having a, he's with his son at work and it mean it's just you know that must feel really good.
Really good, really really good.
I think good on them.
What other travel shows can you think of that you've really enjoyed? I've got one for you.
What?
As I was thinking about this pod last night and I absolutely loved Timothy West and Prunella
Scales, their canal journeys.
Yes, that was nice.
It was so warm and gentle. And I worked with Timothy West who played, funnily enough, Danny
Dyer's dad in EastEnders. So I knew Timothy. And I just loved that show. Then just gently going along on
the canal boat. I mean, I suppose it was kind of one, it was a gentle one, a bit like Paul
Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer's Gone Fishing. You know, that lovely, soft, gentle, I know
it's not a travel show, but you know what I mean.
And also Robson Green's one, when they, you know, he travels to different places and that
sort is very gentle as well.
Yeah, and I suppose Bill Bailey's that we did a little while ago, they're walking you know.
There is something to be said for like a really nice gentle one. I remember watching one with
Nigel Havers and Debbie McGee and they were on a barge. It wasn't just those.
Hang on, hang on, stop there. Or what a pairing.
I know.
Who thought, who thought?
Nigel Havers, someone's, let's be honest, someone's phoned Nigel Haver's for a meeting
and said, who would you like to work with? And he's gone, I was at an awards day the
other night and Debbie McGee's a right laugh. Surely that's happened.
Yes. There were, I think there was another couple with them as well, but I can't remember
who they were.
Are you sure it wasn't Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee and then Nigel and someone?
No. Fine. It was like definitely Nigel Haververs, Debbie McGee and there were some other ones as well
and I can't remember who they were but they were on a barge and it was really sweet and it was
really funny because I love Nigel Havers, I think he's really sweet. And Debbie McGee is just
brilliant but like I like those ones but it's one that I can watch. It takes my like Midsomer
Murders slot. Yes, it's exactly that. Absolutely. Oh lovely.
Can you think of any like high octane
sort of travel shows?
I can't think of any.
Oh, I'll tell you what I am gonna say.
What?
I think this is partly a travel show
because it's filmed abroad.
I'm really sorry about Celebrity Bear Hunt.
I've got to bring it up.
Oh, oh, do you think that's like a travel?
No, are we doing Celebrity Bear Hunt and are you talking about another different one? No, I'm talking about Celebrity Bear Hunt, I've got to bring it up. Oh! Oh! Hang on a moment. Do you think that's like a travel... No, are we doing Celebrity Bear Hunt
and are you talking about another different one?
No, I'm talking about Celebrity Bear Hunt for a minute
just because we said any high octane travel shows.
Yes, yeah.
And I can't think of a high octane travel log.
I did not like it at all.
Oh my God, tell me everything why.
I didn't like it.
Why didn't you like it?
I just didn't like it.
What didn't you like about it? I just didn't like it. Firstly, I didn't like the fact that there
weren't live bears because it's Bear Grylls. So I was really upset. Holly looks beautiful.
Yes. And presents very well. In fact, Joni summed it up perfectly because she's watched
all of them. Yeah. What did she say? She said, this program, Mammy, is kind of traitors, I'm a celebrity, it's lots of different
programs all rolled into one.
And I said, yeah, you're right, it doesn't know what it is.
Well, if it was me, right, I would just have Bear doing it on his own, because I don't
think he needs anybody else.
I think it would just be him taking them all there and then him just hosting it, and then
having the celebrities there, letting them do their challenges challenges and then he just hunts them all down. For me there's so many of
these shows now that I think I haven't got room in my head for any more so maybe it is okay because
Joni loved it but I haven't got time to watch that. I am traitors, I'm a celeb.
I am traitors. I'm a celeb.
You're in for a treat, Jo. Oh my god, what's happening?
Have you seen that Danny Dyer has got a new show coming out about Caravan Park?
Oh my god, no.
The working title is The Dyer's Caravan Park and it's for Sky.
Oh my god, what is he running one? Is he? What's he doing?
I'm not sure, I think it's the two Dannys. Danny and Danny and I think that I don't know
if they're running one, I don't know if they're going to different ones.
Oh my god, they might be staying in a different one each time or they might be, I don't know,
I can't imagine them running it.
I think they'll be running, I don't know, yeah, I think there might be a possibility.
But that that knowing Danny
myself yeah I can't wait to watch it. I think it'll be brilliant. I can't wait I love everything
he does everything. Me too. How do you think he'll be? I just think he'll be hilarious. Can you imagine
if you have to phone him up and go Danny can you come round because I think my gas thing, the gas
has run out, can you come and carry another big gas thing for me? And then he turns up, like carrying a big gas thing
and then plonks it down.
And then-
I might be filming it now.
Maybe you should find out where they are
and go and stay there.
Oh my God, I don't think I could take it.
Well, before we get into our voice notes,
let's start with a voice note from a listener
who's actually relocated to Dubai.
Oh okay. Hi Natalie and Joanna. I just wanted to drop you a quick voice note to say how much I
enjoy your podcast. I moved out to Dubai seven months ago due to my husband getting a job over
here and still in the process of making friends and things. So sometimes I'm on my own and I love to listen to you guys.
You make me feel a little bit less lonely.
And like some of the people have said,
like having a chat with your friends.
So thank you.
I look forward to your podcast every week.
And I like, I heard another lady say earlier,
I am going back and listening to some back episodes as well.
La, oh, that is so lovely.
That's nice to know because it can be lonely, can't it?
Relocating must be real.
I think it's a very brave thing to do and very scary.
Yeah.
So I'm pleased we're keeping her company.
Yay.
Right, we have had so many messages and voice notes for this.
I can't wait to hear the shows that people are talking about.
I bet we're going to have loads of blasts from the past and be like, oh that one, oh that one.
Right, let's have the first one.
Hi Nat and Jo, my name's Paul from Surrey.
Just wanted to let you know that it's not just women, girls that listen to your podcast.
I'm a 59 year old white man out doing my deliveries and I love it when off the telly it drops
into my notifications to say that the latest ones on
Must admit I didn't start listening to you from the beginning. I
Cherry picked a couple of episodes and then just got hooked. I think the first one was Davey Jason because I love
only fools travel shows and I've got a couple for you ones the
two greedy Italians
Which is a cooking show and a travel show with
Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo where they travel through around Italy
visiting places and cooking wonderful food but my probably my favorite one is
Italy Unpacked with Andrew Graham Dixon and Giorgio Locatelli again traveling
around Italy looking at places. Andrew Graham Dixon is Giorgio Locatelli again traveling around Italy looking at places.
Andrew Graham Dixon is an art historian so he goes to the most amazing places looking at frescoes
and art and statues and I like and Giorgio Locatelli is this old store with the kitchen
cooking up traditional Italian food but yeah just something to give you something to think about.
Oh how lovely, thank you Paul. Thank you. I love that he listens to us in his white van. I know
that's really nice. That is so nice. You like those travel shows. Why have I not watched Italy
Unpacked? Too busy working. Yeah but I reckon this is an oldie. That's going on. Yeah. And
Giorgio Locatelli I've met in his restaurant a couple of times and he's a
wonderful, wonderful man and he signed my cookbook.
Oh my God.
Signed my cookbook and he had a restaurant called La Canda Locatelli's in the West End,
which is unfortunately closed.
Oh, so hopefully he pops up somewhere else.
I'm sure he's got more restaurants, but that sounds right up my strata.
It really does.
Should we have another?
Yeah. Hi, ladies. Patty from Limerick Ireland here, self-confessed TV-aholic. Just have to say,
I really enjoy the podcast. I usually listen to it when I'm doing my daily walks. It's just great
hearing what you all are watching. And even though I know that I probably won't watch it,
because I have to catch up on all of the recordings that are on my sky plus
box, which I can't watch until of course the husband has free time. And God forbid if I watch
it before he's able to sit down with me. Anyway, you wanted to know about travel shows that we
really enjoy. And I have to say that travel man on channel four is one of those rare travel channel shows that I will sit and watch. Richard
Iwate used to host it, but now it's hosted by Joe Lysett. Essentially, they go with another
comedian or actor on a city break for 48 hours and they share potential itineraries.
I had no idea that Joe Lysett had taken over. I thought it was a completely different show that Joe Lysett was doing.
I feel terrible.
Why?
Because Joe's pal of mine and I haven't seen it so I feel really bad.
But I think that is going to be sensational.
When are we going to watch all these things?
Oh God knows.
Well I've seen Joe Lysett doing it and I thought it was a completely separate show.
Right okay.
Oh my God.
I love Richard.
Yeah, me too.
Oh my god. I think he's amazing actually. You know, can I mention something about that
voice note that isn't travel related?
Yes.
When people send voice notes and they say, on my daily walk, I feel really jealous.
I know. Do you know when she said that, right, I started thinking about tomorrow and thinking,
right.
Can you get a walk in? Well, I was thinking, right, get up in the morning now, right, and just go and take Lola
and Bess, the dogs, and just get up, right, just get out of the house. And as she was
speaking, I was actually doing the walk with the dogs in the woods because she'd inspired
me and I just thought, Jesus, Jo, just get up and get out with the dogs.
I want to do a daily walk.
Why don't we do one though?
Because I've got to leave the house tomorrow at 6.20. Right, okay, why don't I do one then? Why don't you do one though? Because I've got to leave the house tomorrow at 6.20.
Right Kate, why don't I do one then?
Why don't you do one and text me?
I'm too tired.
Please have a go, make you feel better.
Okay, I'm going to text you right on my daily walk.
I've decided once the sun is lighter in the morning, I'm going to try and be one of those
people and I might join the five o'clock club.
Yeah, because the thing is you could get up and you could do a run or a walk at five.
At five, do my walk, have a shower, ready for the day.
Yeah. What time would I go to bed though? Because
I'll have no relationship left. Eight.
Yeah, half eight. Yeah, I can't do it because I like my evening.
Nine. Nine o'clock. What time do you normally go to bed?
Twelve. Nine o'clock would be fine. Nine.
I could go to bed at ten. Ten.
Still get seven hours. Yeah, go to bed at 10.
Half 10.
I'm going to send you a video for my daily walk
and my daily walk will be me getting out of bed,
walking down the stairs and getting to the kitchen.
Getting on the sofa.
That's for my daily walk.
Opening the abacus.
No, not in the morning. I'm joking.
Just for comedy effect.
Just popping open the Maltesers.
Popping over some chocolates. Other brands are available. Should we listen to another?
Travel shows. This isn't one that is current, but it's from the past that you might remember.
It's Wish You Were Here with Judith Chalmers. I used to watch it with my mum all the time. She loved it because whenever there was some
food around, Judith would be homing in on there. I'd just have a little bit of this.
I'll just have a little bit of this. I always remember my mum doing the impression of Judith
Chalmers. I loved Wish You Were Here. It just reminds me. I can't remember what night it
was on. I think it was on like a Thursday night, midweek or something.
Seven o'clock.
But I used to love watching that with my mum. It's just a good memory of a travel show.
That's what it was.
Wish You Were Here.
Holiday, different people did it.
Yes.
That's why I done it.
Yes, yes.
There you go.
Yeah. Wish You Were Here with Judith Chalmers. Brilliant.
God, what a cushy job that was. Can you imagine? You know, getting out, the kids now are probably
grown up and you're like, right, okay, this is my new presenting job. I'm off out and
I'm going to be travelling all over the world. I don't, not for me. I'd say no thank you.
Really? Yeah, I'd say I'm alright, thank you. Really? Yeah I'd say I'm alright thank you. Really? Yeah.
I'd quite like to do that.
So have you got any local shows you'd like to do around the Hertfordshire area?
Yeah.
So I could get home?
Yeah.
Funny isn't it?
Well yeah because I would quite like to do it but then after a while, after you know
I'd be like I'd like basically a holiday because I'd like to go off and I'd like to have the
one holiday and then I would then actually like to come back home because after the one holiday, say you're
like two weeks in Ibiza and then I'd be like okay oh I feel all nice now I'm
ready to go home. They'd say come on off you go we're going somewhere else now.
We're going to Egypt now. But this one's a bit of a dodgy one because we've got to show
someone a three stop. Yeah after that you've got Bulgaria yeah then after that you've got a small ski trip, you've got to do that, that's
two days, you've got to fit a lot in there. 14 hour days there Jo. Oh my god. They're
14 hours but we'll get through it because we're on a very tight schedule. Then we're
jumping on a plane there and we're just going to do a little bit of the south of France.
Oh my god. And then we've got to do Dublin. We've got four days in Dublin, it's snowing
but we've got to just get on with it. Because yeah, because when does the point of it being
a holiday and going, oh my god, I'm traveling everywhere, become rubbish? When you're not
recording it. Yeah. That's when it's a holiday, I think. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not sure about the
cushy job. I think they're hard holiday shows to do. Probably are, aren't they? Yeah, I
think you're away from home and I think you have to fit a lot in and I think everyone
thinks they're alright, but I reckon they're hard work.
Yeah, and you're on your own as well, aren't you? Unless you've got a companion.
Yeah, that you can bring with you.
Mm-hmm.
God.
Made you think, haven't I?
Yeah, you have. You've made me weigh it up and look at it through a whole different light.
That's what I'm here for.
Well, that's it for another bonus episode of Off the Telly. What shall we watch? different light. That's what I'm here for.
Well that's it for another bonus episode of Off the Telly. What shall we watch? Thank
you everyone for sending all of your brilliant voice notes in. It means the world. I know
we say it all the time but we do mean it. We can't do these episodes without your messages.
These are actually our favourite ones. They really are. It is brilliant. Now as it's International
Women's Day coming up soon,
on the 8th of March, we want to hear all about your iconic female characters. There are so
many that spring to mind from soaps or dramas. Oh, just so, so many. We want to hear from
you guys at home, right? Voice note us with your most iconic female characters on WhatsApp.
The number is 033 006 784 704.
Oh my god I can't wait to hear those voice notes. There's just so many.
I've got a list as long as me arm and that's only from Albert Square.
Yes that's true.
I'll try and think of Samantha's not to be biased.
Oh my god I'm just going to write my list down. My first one that came to mind was Samantha
from Sex and the City.
Fair enough. That was my first one just because I thought that she was a strong, powerful woman.
Never seen an episode.
Oh my god, we've never seen an episode of Sex and the City.
Jo, we've got to go, this is a conversation for another time.
Bye everyone!
Bye!
Off the Telly is hosted by Natalie Cassidy and Joanna Page.
The producer is Georgia Keating.
The commissioning editor is Rhian Roberts.
And it's the BBC Studios audio production for BBC Sounds.
Hello, I'm Robin Ince.
And I'm Brian Cox.
And we would like to tell you about the new series of The Infinite Monkey Cage.
In this series, we're going to have a planet off. We decided it was time to go cosmic so we are going to do Jupiter versus Saturn!
It's very well done that because in the script it does say in square brackets
wrestling voice question mark and once we touch back down on this planet we're going to go deep.
Really deep.
Yes, we're journeying to the centre of the Earth with guests Phil Wang, Chris Jackson and Anna Ferreira.
And after all of that intense heat and pressure, we're just going to kind of chill out a bit and talk about ice.
And also in this series, we're discussing altruism.
We'll find out what it is. Exploring the history of music, recording with Brian Eno and looking at nature's shapes.
So if that sounds like your kind of thing you can listen to The Infinite Monkey Cage first on BBC Sounds.
