Today's guests, plural. Obviously, I don't even need to introduce them. You know exactly who they are. Jared from my season and Ashley from also Crystal season that I was on, now married. I know, I don't have to explain that. You know the lore. And they are both on the podcast today. She went from Bachelor Nation, literally building a full-on life, marriage career, having babies with Jared,

and now she just made the jump into a completely different reality TV realm with the Real Housewives of Rhode Island. And I'm not going to lie, it's a very different lane. You would think it's just drama's drama. It's not. It's very different. So today we get into all of that, what it's like behind the scenes, what surprised her, what people are getting wrong about her, and what she maybe would do differently if she's on next season. Is she on next season?

Probably. Welcome to the podcast, Jared Haven and Ashley Iconetti. This is all just taking me back to like your belly button ring. Oh, I'm going to get it repierce. I want to get it repierce in season two. Why? I love my belly button ring. Really?

Yeah, remember? Okay, so Caitlin is referring to the fact that I one time told crystals to make a wish and rub my belly button ring. You know, like I had a lamp. You had a lamp as a belly button ring. dress as Jean as Jasmine in the red outfit. And then he was like, this is very like Aladdin. And then I said, do you want to make a wish on my belly button ring?

And he wished for a kiss. And that was our first kiss on the show. Oh, it was so bad. Oh, I thought it was really, really funny and so bad. I don't know if you know this, but I thought I was texting Todd, the producer. And I text you. Yeah. And said, Ashley's makeout is so painful.

That was so bad. And you went, Caitlin in all caps. And I was, and then I was like, oh, shit. I sent it to her. And then I was like, actually, I would tell her. That's totally fine. And then I said, well, I'm sorry. It was painful to want.

That was like 11 years ago. It was all so bad. It was all so bad. But it's so funny because I'm like there, so many people out there would have like these, well, we do. I still have cringe-worthy moments on TV where I'm like, but I don't regret any of it because I'm like, God bless our little naive souls in that time. Like, we just didn't know any better. Yeah, but the reason you guys are here is because of those cringe moments. Because normal human beings watch the show are like, I.

would be hard. I'd be so cringeworthy. So it's like, oh, a normal human being who doesn't care about not looking perfect on TV. Right. That's fun. No, it is. It is totally fun. I also need the full story of how you even, I mean, the fact that I've, like, scroll online and I

always see the lore, the lore of Ashley I. How come nobody's talking about the lore of Ashley I? And they go all the way back into like, Bachelor, Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise. And now everyone that's watching and listening will know. But then how the hell? Like what is the lore of getting on housewives? Like how did this come into the picture? It was super weird.

Like I can't name the name, but there was somebody from Bachelor Nation that was being interviewed for another city. And the city didn't happen. Uh-uh. Wait. Can you tell me off camera? Yeah. Okay. And then she was like, can I put you in touch with the casting director?

Because apparently they're also talking to women in Rhode Island. So I talked to him. And I was the last person. cast. Like, I was the last person in talks. Okay. We all got the call together in a group call. And I remember it was not an immediate, yes. I remember, like, obviously you guys are a family unit and you wanted to talk about it and make sure it was the best decision. How long did you guys go back and forth for? Like two months. Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, like, that was also,

like, with negotiation, it was like our lawyer in the contract. Right. Because we were coming from a different spot. Right. And we wanted to make sure that I could still do all my social media normally like when we wanted our jobs so we stay totally normal yeah um you want to explain a little bit yeah it was never a no you like when real household bravo calls it's like holy shit i can't believe yeah you just have to talk through and think through but yeah yeah it's the same thing as when bachelor calls yeah oh my god it was immediate yes yes same yeah not an immediate yes for me well in terms of it was always a yes yes yes yes and then once they were like okay you're gonna fly out in two weeks And you were like, oh, my God.

Like, I actually. But you knew you were going to say. Yes, because it's like it's never going to happen. It was kind of like that was housewives. It's like, of course we're going to say yes. It's Bravo. This is an incredible opportunity. And then until it actually comes to like, all right, cameras are going to start rolling and, you know, we're going to have cameras in there filming your family in two weeks.

Right. So that's when it was like, all right, you know, is this the right thing? Right. So I don't know. It's just such a big opportunity. Ashley's a housewife now. Isn't that crazy? It's way too big opportunity.

that I, now that you're a housewife to. Oh, you don't. You want to keep Ashley. I. Interesting was that we were like doing intros, like in the confessional scene. I guess it was like, hi. I'm actually. I don't know. It was like what it was. But they're like, you don't have to say Ashley I anymore. You're just Ashley.

And I're like, no, I'm not. I don't like that. Yeah. Like, can we like? And then I went along with it. I was just like, oh yeah. Hi, I'm Ashley. And then a couple like weeks later, I was like, no, I kind of want to keep going by

Ashley I. So, yeah, I was, okay, good. Yeah. Because I can't see you as. anything but Ashley I. It's not funny Ashley As is just like in the world and I'm Ashley I because she's there. Well, I've said this on my podcast before, but I was Caitlin B on like my mic pack when they first miced me to go down to the limo for night one.

And I was like, there's another Caitlin. Yeah, there wasn't. But there wasn't. And I wonder if there was and she got pulled or something happened because I was like, can you imagine me going by Caitlin B? KB. KB. KB I could get down.

with, well, I do get down with it. But you're just Ashley I. It's nice. It is. Yeah, you're not going to go as AI. Oh my gosh. Speaking of you guys, right before you walked in here, I was watching this video and I was like trying to not cry because it was a panda laughing. And I was like so invested in this panda and I was like, wow. Like I started Googling stuff about pandas and I just was like, are they even real? And then it was an AI video. And I was like, I always pride myself on knowing the difference. And I thought, I literally for 10 minutes was just so emotionally attached to this panda that giggled. And then I was like, it is AI. I know. There's going to be so many more videos like that. It's going to be bad.

We're going to live in the Matrix soon. Okay. As parents, does that scare you? Or are you like, we will adapt? No, I mean, we'll adapt. We'll do whatever we have to do in order to make sure that Dawson and Hayden are, you know, fine in the world. Yeah. Yeah, it's a scary, scary aspect.

Scary how there's going to be no jobs, I think. Well, I don't know how we're going to work that one out. that's why you're being a housewife now you're setting up your kids future that is when they ask mom because i was asking snokie she was here the other day and i was like what do you tell your kids like they're starting to get to an age where they're on tic-tok and she was like oh i tell them i'm an actress and she was like they see videos of me getting arrested and getting punched in the face and she goes i tell them they made me do it i was just acting oh god she still has the best line ever because the only show the only reality show i ever watched was jrish shore before i went on bachelor yeah because polly d was from

Johnston. Oh. And so I was like, Rhode Island boy. And then I just fell in love with the show. Oh, when she's getting resting on the beach,

it's like, I'm a good person. I'm a fucking good person. It's like, oh my God, this is so good. So good. I do remember that. Yeah, she's the best. She really is a hoot.

And I sat here and I was like, this girl hates me because she did at first. She was like, I didn't hate you. She was like, I was jealous because you were friends with my gay best friend. And I thought you were going to take him away from me. And then, but the whole podcast, I was like, she doesn't like me. And then I went to.

podcast, you felt that? Yeah. But then I was just being insecure. And I went to their Jersey Shore cast dinner, which is always a crazy sentence to say. And I walked in, and I went by myself. And I was like, I'm just going to go grab a martini at the bar and like figure out. And she walked in and she immediately came and she was like, I'm just going to sit with you for a minute and have a martini. And she's like, I'm so glad we're friends now.

And I was like, ow. I was in your head. It was in my head the whole time. We're actually, we're besties now. Yay. And I just love her. She's just so. Polly pocket size.

And she's just like, she just is who she is. Like, she just doesn't give a shit. Yeah. It's awesome. Yeah. I'm a big fan of Snooki. I accidentally called her Snooki, like, in a conversation because she goes by Nicole. Yeah.

And we were at the dinner and I was like, well, yeah, and Snokey. And I was like, I'm so sorry. I feel like a fan calling you Snooki. Like, oh my gosh. That's, that's, that's, okay. Jersey Shore, like, like fandom, I feel like is. so loyal. Bachelor nation, loyal. Who's more loyal? Bachelor nation or Bravo world of fans? Like, are they more intense in the Bravo world? Are they the same? Everybody kind of was warning me

that it would be really intense. I don't feel it to be more intense or more mean. That's kind of how they made it seem. Yeah. And even when I'm like scrolling on X, because that's where I feel like you get more like the live content or threads. I don't even see anything super mean towards the other women. Snarky, like, opinionated, sure, but nothing like blatantly, like, mean or like that what I feel like hit my soul. Yeah. I don't know.

So I think it's been really great. And I have to say, Bachelor Nation has been so supportive. Oh, I bet. It's so nice. And, like, if even one of the girls says something, like, slightly like, hmm, about me, the comment section goes. That's like you have an army behind you. It is a good army.

It is, yeah. I mean, I'm obviously. obviously very detached from housewife, not detached from housewives, but you're a housewife. Like I walk in the background. But Bachelor Nation has just been extremely loyal for 10 years. I know, right?

So it's hard to like compare housewives with bachelor's because they've just been like amazing. That's true. You know what I mean? We've all felt it. I feel like also you were such a like beloved person in Bachelor Nation. Like, well, both of you actually.

Is there any more more beloved than you? Yeah, but Ashley, you know. Yeah, I'm not beloved. You, Hannah Brown, I feel, in like Jojo. Oh, you're beloved now. Oh, maybe now. Or like, like, what do you mean? I still feel like I'm always.

Oh, I feel like. I meant like, well, I mean, like during the airing of your show. Polarizing, sure, but like beloved most. Oh, you're definitely beloved. I'm going to feel like when the show that I just did airs, I'm going to be talking to you a lot because I feel like we're going to have a lot of similarities where it's like, like, like, you've always been very self-aware, but I feel like the idea of entering a franchise where like the loudest person in the room often wins. That was kind of, I was on the show with a bunch of housewives. You are now in a show,

you are a housewife. And I'm like, it made me so introverted and quiet and like, and I was like, I've seen people online call you like, you're soft or like, and I'm like, you guys try and be in a room with these women for what they are the biggest personalities, which I can sit back in love and appreciate. But I also like, I'm usually the loudest one in a room. Not there. Yeah. Grocery Store Joe and I talked about this because they did this Alex Cooper show. And I said, it seems based on my viewing recently, that if you take Bachelor contestants and put them with other reality stars, even though we're cast on Bachelor for our personalities, is in them usually being pretty big, certainly not shy. You know, maybe a little bit more demure than your average. But then you go into like a ensemble cast, reality.

show, we seem so introverted and meek. Yeah. Yeah. And it's like. Well, and then you don't want to be the loudest person in the room because you're like. We're sensitive. Yeah. We're just here for the love.

I'm also curious if it's because Bachelor, I felt like, you know, when you go on Bachelor, you go back to your life afterwards. And so there is a sense of groundness to the cast because it's like you go. You have this incredible experience. But then like once it's over, like you're back. to your life. And then we've been lucky, like the time frame that we had on the show that we were able to have opportunities afterwards. But like

that doesn't happen for a majority of the cast. And then... The ones that are going on these ensemble shows, it did happen for. Like, they all did make careers out of it. None of us went back to the normal life. But I feel like other shows like housewives. It's like you're on for five seasons. You know what I mean? You are... This is your career

trajectory. We're like, Bachelor is much more of like this incredible experience that it's like, holy shit. This is the coolest thing I've ever done. But then it's like, well, then I, you know, I got to go back and I have to work. And then you maybe get on Paradise, but then you have to figure it out after. And like, housewise,

it's like, oh, are you the loudest and like causing the most chaos? Well, your paycheck depends on it. And then if you get cast next season again, I just, I want to know,

well, first of all, why can't you talk about who it was in Bachelor World? Did they ask you not to say anything? Um, I think, I think just had a respect. Okay.

She didn't ask before me. I didn't know if it was like a like, she was like, don't. or why, but now I'm curious. What was my point of... But can we just pitch your reality? Oh, wait, can we pitch your

your housewives? I've been pitching it all week long. I hope you don't care. Oh, I want to be a national housewife. Nashville would have been you. Yeah. Hannah Brown. And then Janet Kramer and then Jesse James Decker.

Yeah. And that's for massive. Well, of course, if you get that cast, that's incredible. Could you imagine? Okay, wait, before we get into it, I have to tell you what a weirdo I am with my watch party rituals.

Like, I am so, when it comes to my ritual on Sunday nights, I get into comfy clothes, I take off my makeup, I put my phone on Do Not Disturb, I get ramen and pinot, we get all set up on the couch, and I've been making a snackboard with these. the first time in March, the soundtrack wasn't out yet. Yeah. The cast recording. And I had to wait to wait like six weeks for it. Oh, my gosh. I can't believe it. If anybody is going to be in New York or is in New York, you must go see chess. I listened to Aaron's one night in Bangkok this morning. Oh, you were singing it. You were walking to Duncan listening to this video. No, I wasn't. I should have in the war. I'm not in Bangkok. Do you really go to Duncan when you're in New York City? Yeah, why? For coffee?

Why not? There's so many good coffee shops. Yeah, I know. There was a coffee shop literally across from the hotel. I was, this morning, walked out of the hotel. There was a coffee shop and a Duncan. And I was like, all right, I'll just go to Duncan, you know what I mean? I'll just get it over quickly. Oh my gosh.

I know. It's really just, it's a way of life, you know? Like Ben Affleck is my idol, so it's like I got to drink the Duncan. That's fair. That's fair. You got a smoke a stig, though, too. You got a focus signal having the Dunkin. You know what, babe, here's an idea.

You can close Audrey's, and then if we move to Virginia, don't pretend like you don't want to. Everybody thinks that I want you to close Audrey's more than you. I know, yeah, that's true. So, like, don't feed into the narrative. Fair point, fair point. So you should, we can move to Virginia, and then you can open. I'm not franchising a Dunkin.

No, I'm not. I don't want to do that. It's very sweet, and it's a wonderful idea. You want to be the dumb king. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I cannot. I'm just picturing you smoking a cigarette and that seems funny to me. I tried so hard.

I don't even like when people smoke. I'm like, that is so gross. But I was in New York. Like, I'm like a New York or not. And I was like, I thought I was in Nashville for a second.

I was like, I was in New York. I was like, I'm going to buy a menthol like skinny cigarette because. You are not. Yeah. I thought I loved a menthol skinny. Like I do when I'm in Europe.

I'm like, I literally was like walking home. I walked into a store and got a pack of cigarettes. I lit one up and I was like, like almost throwing up. I just threw it away. I was like, I hate it. But I tried really hard. I did that one of my buddies like when I was in my early 20s, he was like busts my balls because he was a chain smoker and he's like, oh, you're such a, because like I'm the type of guy where I would like have half a beer and I'm like, I'm good. Yeah. He's like, you're such a pussy like, you can't even smoke. I was like, dude, I can smoke.

So I took a cigarette and I took a puff. No, I was fine. I like held it and blew out the smoke. And he was like, all right, not bad, not bad. But then I got my car. I was like, oh, God, that was disgusting. It's terrible. Oh, my God. But you know what's funny is that when someone lights up a cigarette, I think it smells good.

I think it smells. Oh, fantastic. The first light of a cigarette. Cigar, yes. Cigrant. I know, cigarette I love. I don't mind the smell of a cigarette. I've never smoked a cigarette in my life.

Not to smoke, but when someone first lights it, whatever is lit first, if it is, the nicotine, that first. The nicotine is the chemical in it, babe. Whatever the hell it is. Whatever that first scent is. When you light a cigarette, I was like, burning paper. Got to be the burn. It's got to be like a fire.

Maybe. Maybe that's it. So just give me a cigarette without nicotine. I love it. Okay. So I like the smell of a cigarette, like one cigarette, like in a wide open space during a summer night. Yeah. I don't want to be in a closet with a chain smoker.

There's a specific beer in Canada called Moulson Canadian. or Coquney. Those two beers, and if I smell that with a cigarette, I immediately, like, want to cry about my ex-boyfriend. Okay, yeah. It, like, triggers something in my brain of, like... Just high school love. High school love. Mm-hmm.

The, oh, God, he was so cute. Skateboarder. I see that. He had the... In junior high, he had the part middle with the hair, like the Devons Sala. Oh, the best. Yeah. Oh, my God.

Casper. Can I keep you. Casper. Oh, God. The best. I watched that back now, and I'm like, oh, I feel like creepy because he's so young. but at the time, I remember, like, crying over him in dreams. JTT and Devon Sawal, I would, like, cry over them because I'd have dreams about them and wake up and they weren't real and I'd cry. Aw.

I feel like that was like, I feel like you'd relate to him. Absolutely. I was crying during Casper, but not because of that. Dude, that scene, like, as I get older now, that scene where the mom comes back and visits the husband and music. I know. I know. Who does the score for Casper? Oh, no.

Who does it? Is it James Warner? It is James Warner. Yeah, I think it is. And it's like that beautiful, soft, like, bum, bum, bum, bum. bum bum bum bum bum dun dun dun dun dun dun and he holds her hand and she's like about breakfast and like wow i'm gonna go watch caspar when i get home it is it is like dawson's running around as i'm like tearing up watching the movie he's given up on casper he's like it casper hasn't

gotten him yet well i feel like you have to be a little older to get to really get casper he likes the three ghosts yeah they're hilarious also likes back to the future like what yeah he likes a lot of How funny. He watched Seabiscuit with me the other day. Wow. He's a very sophisticated young one. Truly, what a, what a palette for movies. Is that a thing?

I know. Palet for movies. Yeah, that's amazing. Okay, going back to Housewives, you two specifically, how has it affected your relationship? Because now it's exposed. Like, they expose, and they need storylines. And obviously, there's a whole, like, thing. But do you guys just, like, talk?

Do you watch? Do you? He doesn't watch? Okay. that makes a difference. Did I just tell you something you didn't even know? No, there's nothing.

I tell him the re- I tell him like, I watch this week's episode, I don't like the fact that like, blah, blah, blah. It makes you seem like, it makes me seem like, you know, and then like, and he doesn't care.

Oh, great. He like just doesn't like. I mean, the way I look at it is that we film the show. And listen, of course I keep up with it. I'm a huge supporter of housewives. It's incredible that Ashley is a housewife. I'm very proud and happy for her

because it was one of the reason reasons like when we were talking about like do we do or do we not do it and it was like Ashley has to do this for the simple fact that like your housewife. I know. That is an incredibly big deal and something impossible to say no to. Except we did debate. But of course we were debating. I mean, you have to think about like, you know, we have two kids.

It's a stressful environment. But anyway, you know, when filming, it's like there's so much anxiety. I already have so much anxiety and stress in my life. Like the idea of rewatching something that I has zero. control over. Like everything that we have control over happened a year ago. You know. And then post-production where it's just like some things will be shown, some things will not be shown. Of course we're going to be happy with certain things. And then we'll be pissed off with like, oh, I wish they showed this. Or like, why did that scene get

cut? And it's like, it has nothing to do with us. That has everything to do with them putting the story together and showcasing it for the world to see. And so like, it's just like, you know, that's great and that's wonderful. But I have no desire. to watch simply because I know it's just going to like trigger some just like make me overthink or like yeah I'm more focused on like all right well like what can I you know what's today bringing because today's bringing something new with kids and business and everything else and so it is hard when it's like filmed a while ago too and then it goes into post production and then you wait and then you see it all air out and you're like oh I forgot about that even but does like I also

feel like bachelor nation do they still project like their um old narratives of your relationship on probably a little bit. Yeah. I mean, but also it's like so far and a few between that I don't even want to give like the few little comments that I'll see. Yeah. Where it's just like, yeah. Yeah. There's nothing.

You're like, one scene I was watching, babe, in like a future episode that remember when JJ says, I mean, we'll never. I'd rather take a back alley beating with a crow bar than going in this day than him. I think it was a plumber's wrench. A plumber's? Yeah. I think so I don't know, but it was the funniest thing. With Ashley eye.

Jared looks like, yeah. And there's this moment of you and my dad, like, asked you a question in the kitchen. And you definitely look like, like, you're Ren Affleck needing the cigarette. It's just like that face, disheveled, was just right there. Yeah. And it's funny because it's like, to me, I'm like, oh, that's just Jared. Like, that's just his face. Like, everybody else.

I try not, like, because I try to be very warm and welcoming to everybody I meet. but it's like there are times where I like I can tell where I'm just like it's not even like a mad I'm just kind of like You're goesed off yeah you're like you're like you angry like like no no I'm not angry why yeah that's I was overthinking everything when I was filming because I'm like oh I was like thinking about how I needed to go take like a toot walk and I was like Caitlin this is why this is why we're front walk because for it literally yesterday I was doing this interview and they're like what should you know be accepted, that's not accepted. I said we should be able to fart more freely. Yeah, 100%. So you fart all the time. With, yes, I know, I'm not on camera. If I'm dressed up for the day, like, you know, because so often, you know, and then.

I'll walk into the room, like, because she's in the bedroom or something. She'll just, like, I farted. I'm so sorry. Like, I'm like, I don't even smell anything. But now I'm looking for it. I didn't want you to walk to the pocket, okay? Yeah. Well, he's better than your mom. dude my mom is the most gassy woman you're kidding oh she walks as she's talking she'll be like saying something then yeah and she'd be like oh oh i didn't i didn't see that one coming like he didn't feel it coming rumbling like nothing she's farting in front of my mom

like the other day like they're together like taking care of the kids she's just like oh sorry audry no wait i feel like jared will get this maybe not but do you remember that family guy where stewie's like roommates with helen keller and she's farting as she's walking and he's like, oh, come on, you got to feel them just slapping out of there. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Oh, that's so funny. There's a lot of Fartz family guy quotes I don't want to do right now, but like, yeah, that's okay. I do want to say, Caitlin, like you asked how it affected our relationship. It really, like, hasn't, like, filming and stuff didn't, like, affect our relationship

at all, I think because we've been through it. Right. And, like, going through, like, watching it also, no. The only thing that it has is that like it's just another thing on our plate. Right. And that just like constantly like the overwhelm that Jared and I have in life right now about trying to tackle everything. That's where it's just like every day. It's like we got to do this.

We'll do that. It's like we're just overwhelmed. Yeah, it's a lot. Yeah, it's a balance because I think Ashley's whole thing in reality TV and in life is that she's just herself and we're just ourselves. And like we have a wonderful relationship. but it's not always perfect. And I like that aspect of broadcasting it to the world. Yeah.

Because it's like, no, I don't, like nobody has a perfect relationship. And you have a wonderful relationship. And so, I don't know, but it's like, do you want to show that? Because then, of course, like, it's like you have people. I think she gets more bothered by it than I do about, like people spewing, like. Well, they're- Looks grumpy. Exactly.

You know what I mean? And it's like, just don't read that. Yeah. No, I know. I know. 90% of everything that people say is wonderful. I'm like, that's okay. Jared is grumpy.

Yeah. Yeah. And I like that you aren't performative on camera. Like, it's not like you're like, I'm on and I have to like, be like this. You know, like, you're like, I'm just, maybe I am grumpy in this moment. God forbid. I know. God forbid you have a bad day.

I know. I was going to say something I care of a Bernal, though. But anyway, yeah. He's never grumpy with the kids. No. I mean, because as, oh, that's what I was going to say, because it's so hard right now, because we are in the thick of it with two boys, you know, one's four, one's almost two. Hayden is very much a handful right now in the most wonderful way, but he's just like the definition of a second child boy where like he is like grabbing everything, throwing it, breaking stuff. Laughs at no, pulls my hair to the point where he like, slapping, just like, you know, he's just going through that phase where he is like very energetic.

and he is just like if he like he's also not verbal yet like he'd say certain things but he can't communicate what he wants right like he's pointed to something I grabbed the wrong thing I mean he's screaming throwing and then I'll give him something and then he'll throw it down he's scream crying because it's not the thing and so it's like that phase right now but it's also so sad because as stressful as it is like I know that Ashley and I would in in 20 years we would give up our entire life savings to have one day. Aw. The ages that they are right now.

Yeah. They are just so, like, wonderful. Dawson is the most... It's not even... I don't even know how to say this without sound biased because he's my son, but he is just

the most wonderful, loving, caring. Sweet. Sweet human being. I think I've ever encountered in my life. And he gets so much of that from Ashley. Like imagine Ashley's personality. And you're totally like you're comparing children right now though.

I want to kid. Because Hayden is also not. Dawson knows how to talk. Like he indicates these very loving sentiments to us. I love them equally. But like Dawson and I have a different relationship with right now because I can I can talk to also. I feel like secondborn see the older one communicating and it's like frustrating to them that

they can't. And so he's like, what do you mean you're not understanding me when I'm pointing to this when you can have full conversation? conversations with him. Like, I feel like the second child is always just, like, so frustrated that they can't communicate like the other one. And I had such, like, and I love spending time with just Hayden right now. Yeah.

It's far and few between, but it's, it's so much more enjoyable because when the two of them together, obviously, they feed off at the Treas Energy and Dawson is such a big personality that he does dominate a lot of it. But Hayden, like, the other night, because she came to New York night before I did, so her mom was in town, her mom was downstairs, Dawson. I was upstairs with Hayden just in the room. And he was just like playing with his toys and it was just the two of us. But it was also like right before bed.

So they're always the cutest right before bed. Yeah, they know. And like him just like staring at me. Part of their negotiation tactics. Like giving me a toy and just staring. And it's like there's this emotional connection that you get. But yeah, they're just wonderful. So it's like that balance, right?

Where it's like I don't want it's as tiring as exhausting, as stressful as things are right now. Like I think that's another reason why I don't watch the show. Yeah. It's like I know why am I going to add another part of stress into my life when like I know that like the most stressful part of my life is the kids because of how much we love them and how important they are and how much we care about like their well-being. So why am I going to add something else when like I know in 10 years when this stress is gone and it's like they're more self-sufficient and they're doing their independent things that like I said we would literally give anything just to go get ice cream. with them. Well, I feel like you two are both the same kind of people who like you work hard and you love hard and you play hard and like everything you do, you do with like a lot of like purpose. And I was saying it last night. I was like, no, Jared works. Like when you're at Audrey's like you, it's not like you just run the place and you're like, I've got people to do the jobs for me. Like you are doing it all. And I feel like you put a lot of pressure on yourself in a good way to like be this provider and do what you need to do. and then you're just like this, like, loving, also hardworking woman who's doing it all. Like, you both are just kind of superheroes.

Oh, well. That's very sweet. I promise we're not superheroes. Well, you are in your own way. I did call myself a superhero on a podcast yesterday, though, because somebody asked if I had ever flown with the kids in general. And I go, flown with the kids. I fly with the kids on the regular by myself sometimes. Really?

I am a superwoman. I won't say I'm the regular, but you have flown. I said multiple times. I've also flown with the kids by myself. Of course. I don't like it. We both don't like it because the imagine, you know, the imagine of the. Well, I mean, God, forbid, something happened.

But also it's just. Oh, God, intrusive thoughts. Of course you're going to think that you're not on a plane without your family. I told you last night I opened the door to the balcony of my New York apartment and I think Pino's going to jump. Yeah, of course. You've always think worst case scenario. Yeah. And then also it's just like, I hate when she flies with the kids because I'm like, I guarantee she's going to pull off in the tarmac and then they're going to plant on the tarmac and be like, sorry, we're delayed.

We're going to be here for an hour. and it's like it's okay if you're delayed in the airport with kids because you have an opportunity to run around they can do their thing we can go to the store but if you're stuck on the plane they're like sorry it's gonna be another 45 minutes like guys this cannot happen yeah because i have a two year old who's just like arch he does this thing where arches his back it's like bro settled down he's so strong we call him wrong yeah because he's literally like i am gawk yeah he's just a little because he's just like so elegant and you know like he's just like Regal, yeah. And then, you know, Hayden's just like shoving mac and cheese and like, I pick things up and put them down, you know?

Yeah. And he's just like, he really likes his protein. Oh my gosh. hilarious. It's like it's so funny because he's just, it's so, it's so like it's out of necessity. Yeah. Yeah. It's fuel.

It's just fuel them. It's just like the TV is on. He's like a little two year old. I love it. Oh, I want to come hang out with you guys. That's fun. He didn't watch your season. that was like

The first episode Not for me Well yeah I mean for you It was definitely easier for me to watch Yeah Um Because it was much more stressful

To you Obviously Kail It was like an easy, breezy time. We were like, this is easy. This girl's bringing me to the cranberries. I'm going on a helicopter. All I have to do is like not say anything stupid.

And I get all these cool dates. This is great. That is funny. It is funny to think because even just being in New York, I'm like, oh my gosh, like walking Times Square last night, I was just like, this brings me right back to our season. Anyways, Rhode Island. Yeah. It's like a very tight-knit culture, I feel like, and these women have all like really deep roots there. And I feel like it's such a sacred place to people who are from there. I know from Jared. But like what surprised you the most? Like were they welcoming to you as like an outsider Ashley I from Bachelor Nation?

Or do you feel like you had to prove yourself to these women? It was a little bit of a prove yourself situation. It wasn't like they were unfriendly. It was just like they wanted me to like offer myself up to them instead of like they were never like really like asking questions or really taking a ton of effort. It was more of like prove yourself like show why. Yeah. You can hang. Yeah.

That's intimidating. Yeah. Because you're also like, you haven't done TV since Bachelor, winter games. And so you're like already, well, I guess they haven't done TV either. I was also included there. Stars on Mars. I forgot about that. What did Marshawn Lynch say about you?

It's the coolest quote ever. Oh my God. It is the coolest quote ever. So cool you forgot. Yeah. What was it? He said because it was coming from Marshawn Lynch. Yeah.

He was something like, you're a weird girl. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you're a weird girl. I love that. Oh, it's the best thing. I was like, that's the coolest thing anybody's ever said about you. That's hilarious. Because, you know, coming from him, you're, it's like, that's cool. Yeah, that is, yeah.

I love that. I love when people call me weird. I'm like, thank you. But, yeah, Rhode Island, I think also, I think people, I think people from Rhode Island are very defending of Rhode Island. Nobody is more defensive of their state than Rhode Island. I think because people are like Rhode Island.

Like that place sucks. Napoleon syndrome. A thousand percent Napoleon syndrome. What's Napoleon syndrome? Oh, sorry. Napoleon was so short. No, Portean's syndrome is.

It's like. That's something that I feel like you would like kind of use in your daily. Well, I'm going to now once you find it. It's just somebody who's like it's meant because Napoleon was short, even though like actually historically he wasn't that short compared to the times. But he was like a short. general. I think because we love it so much because there are so many wonderful elements of Rhode Island. Yeah. Newport's incredible. The beaches are wonderful where the ocean

stay. I mean, it has the largest coastline in the continental United States, which is crazy. I love the Rhode Island facts right now I know right And then like everybody loves Providence it's like a mini Boston But I think Boston and Massachusetts greatly overshadow Rhode Island Yeah

And so like when people think of Rhode Island They're like oh yeah there's nothing So I think people are like no fuck off Like my my grandfather was born in Rhode Island I was born in Rhode Island Like I'm born and raised Coventry You know what I mean like there are fifth generation Dunkin workers there like it

But I love it Now I'm getting the done That's like me going home and not getting Tim Hortons Exactly It's like we're very territorial and it's because a lot of people have, we're, you know, like I said, it is very generational there.

Yeah. And there are so many wonderful parts of it that I think it just gets overlooked a lot of times. But now I'm nervous that there's, it feels like Rhode Island is starting to get more and more. Now it's on the map. I'm like, damn. You guys can't win.

No, I've always been nervous about it because I've always been like, I love Rhode Island, but also don't come here, you know? Yeah, I get that. That's like Kelona, where my parents have a lake house. My happy place, it's a little, like treasure and then they did um jersey canada like a jersey shore in that town and yeah and now it's well it already was starting to like the secret was already getting now i'm like oh and it just like you know it goes to see it's already so crowded during the summer like i cannot

imagine what's going to be like did you know anybody from the show before no oddly no oh okay how you didn't know jo ellen since she's the same year as you and she was cransston see it's all well yeah i mean i guess i'm not the weird she was in a different town that's right that's right That's right. If I were like, if I didn't know somebody that went to McLean high school, it wouldn't be like weird. But it worked out well when I first went to Joe Allen's Fourth of July party and I was meeting everybody for the first time. Yeah, I watched it. It was really nice because then when I met the husbands, he's like, oh, yeah, like I know this guy from work.

I was like, oh, I play soft with him. He's like, oh, I play golf with him. That's everybody's favorite guy. And it's like, bing, bum, boom. That's what they played in Rhode Island when they meet each other. Yeah. Where'd you at high school? 1000.

And you know this? Because everybody knows everybody. Yeah, of course. And so that was good for me. and I think good for Ashley too because Ashley was the outsider but then it's like oh her husband like

oh like he knows this guy or he played softball with this guy and so like there's like an in camaraderie. Who or what surprised you the most once cameras were rolling like what were you like oh my gosh did not see this coming?

I guess it seems obvious but I was actually pretty taken aback by how fast the fights happened and how loud they were. Yeah. Yeah it's really something On Bachelor, you and I, like, you know, we just had Kelsey in our Bachelor house, right?

And we all kind of, like, had a mutual, like... There was no other villain besides Kelsey on your season? No. We could say Britt kind of. Yeah, she was kind of in now. But I say that there was... She was like, she ruffled feathers for sure because she was, we saw one thing and then we saw another. And she was very, like a front runner, as they say.

So we were all just threatened. But it's interesting because I was thinking of that with Bachelor. Like Bachelor is also very produced. Like you're always around a producer. They're always coming in to say what the conversations are and like, let's talk about this. Where I feel like, and maybe I'm wrong because I've never done Housewives, but because I was with a bunch of Housewives on the show, they kind of just let you say and do whatever you want and they don't really.

I can't talk about this stuff. Okay, fine. But you know what I would like to say? is that what is interesting is that like we were on reality TV and we had confrontations on reality TV and we would have you know like but we were always just like talking well yeah like speaking like this or like making each other laughing that we would do our shit talking in the confessionals which now people are calling you a confessional warrior it's like really funny because confessional warrior is like that's hard like that's also cool I'm like so I'm comfortable and

that environment. After I'd let things simmer, like, let it absorb. And I've really thought about it. This is what I've learned to do. The power of a pause in therapy, I've been taught to just, like, not react emotionally. And now I'm taking it to the confession, which is like a healthy adult. Exactly. I know. And I haven't said anything in there that I don't think that I would actually say the person's face. But like, it does take time to, like, absorb the moment. I agree. really figure out your feelings but also like I was just I think the one moment that they may be referring to is that I was like where's your proof bitch? Yeah.

When I say bitch like that I say bitch like I say bitch like I say bitch all the time like yeah I'm like an endearing way not that that was endearing but I would tell my sister like all the time like you're like she'll be like you do call on stupid bitch all the time exactly she's like I look ugly today. I'm like you know what you're stupid bitch. Yeah. Oh my gosh. I say bitch all the time. I know. I say,

I called my dog a bitch this morning. Bitch, you mean so cute. I know. I just love the term bitch. Yeah. It's so funny. Speaking of bitches,

who did you immediately know was going to be complicated for you? I don't have a personal complication I think. I was scared that I would be scared of Liz. I wasn't sure if I'd ever be get over my like intimidation of her. Yeah.

Which I have. but it still lingers. That was Kim Zolsiak for me. Okay. I was like, I'm so scared of her. But then I just ended up telling her. I was like, I'm scared of you. That's why I did to the same thing.

Yeah. Yeah, you just got to say it. It's just like, hi, I'm shy around you because you're very intimidated. Yeah. Yeah. I did see that when we were at, um, we went to the Red Sox game and they were playing the episode and Liz was like, oh, I'm scary. Because he comes good.

That was funny. Yeah. Liz is a good egg. I like it. I like this. Really? Yeah. I like a good scary egg.

Yeah. But she's just very much, I mean, I haven't interacted with her much. But every time I have, it's been a very positive one. She likes Jared. No, I like her a lot, too, and I like Jerry. Is there anyone you don't like? No. Well, yeah, there's nobody I don't like.

Yeah. I'm not convinced, but okay. Because she one time said, I don't know she said her to my face on camera or what. Maybe she did say it in my face on camera. So I know, she's like, you know, you're really nice when your husband's around. But when you're not, his husband's not around, you're very attached. Really? And I'm like,

Steve, security blanket. Yeah. Just the warm little blanket, you know? I'm the weighted blanket. I know. I'm like,

so my best self comes out and you know. Oh, that's nice. That's romantic. That's more comfortable. Yeah, I just find it so fascinating

that like, you worked, you were such a, you've always been a self-aware person. I've always had that to you. But like, there's always this narrative of you being too emotional

and now you're too soft. And like, I just feel like women always just want to be like, you're too this. You're too this. Like, it's so interesting

how we all just want to make somebody to something. That's so true. Oh, a thousand percent. Yeah. But that's the point of reality TV is that you kind of project your own insecurities onto the characters you're watching. Yeah. Or you wish you had that, that you don't.

Of course. Like they reacted this way or they're too much like this. And it's just like that's the whole point of reality TV is that you put imperfect people, which is everybody on this planet, on TV. And so you could see like the pros and cons of every single person and then just like put yourself in that scenario. And like it is, I also truly think that when people watch not only just Housewives, but any TV show in general, like they truly believe that a lot of it is not real. Right.

You think that people believe that there are people that work at Audrey's that have asked like if it's like, like they talk about it and it is a fictional show to them because the way they talk about the women. Yeah, it's like their little outlet like one girl, like one girl that works at Audrey's I know like was like I don't like. like Rosie. You know, she said that. And I was like, well, Rosie's awesome. Like, Rosie's a friend of ours. And she's really close with Ashley. And then like, I told her like, Rosie goes to urban air with us and hangs out with the kids and goes in the ballpin. She'll be over. And then like we're talking. And then like she started liking Rosie. She's like, oh. And then she like the next episode, she's like, I really like Rosie now. But I'm like, I. The power of suggestion with people is so funny. But talking, yeah, but talking to someone who has never been a part of reality

TV, who's just watching the show. And then obviously being part of the show and then Ashley being a main figure on the show. It's just like so interesting, but my point in saying, you're a housewife is that like, like, I could see from her perspective, it was like, wow, that, it is definitely, like, Rosie's not a real human being to her. Yes, totally. That's, and I say, if she meets her in person, she's wonderful and so sweet, but like that is a, that is a TV character. And that is Bravo, girlies who watch Bravo, that's like their escape to like, yeah, almost like I always say this on the podcast, how they make you a character and your one dimensional character. And you're one dimensional character on a show. You're not like real human. And if you met these people in real life,

you'd be like, oh, but that's why we love these shows so much. Like, because we're just seeing one side and that lets us form our opinion and then have our little like, you know, I don't want to call it trash TV because I, it's not. It's a very, it's a business. I mean, are there moments looking back on this season where maybe both of you or you wait and pause and say in a confessional,

but do you wish you would have spoke up on anything that you look back on now? you're like, oh, I should have said this in the moment. No. I think that in this season, I did what I, what was right. Yeah. Which was I didn't know these ladies. A lot of the issues that come up are deeply rooted. And it would have been very strange of me to like try to like put my point of view in.

Yeah. With Rula's storyline with Brian, it's a little different. It was more of like a current event thing. And she also isn't as like deeply rooted to the other women. So I feel like giving my opinion on. Her situation is different and it's not always shown, but like I was more vocal in that than I think they've shown. Yeah.

And that's okay. But like as far as you were homeless, you're not homeless. Like I'm not getting into that. I didn't know Alicia back then. Right. And I think it's just best, I understand going into second season, if I'm part of it, I think I will be more comfortable in the moment and especially defending people who I like have gotten close to.

Yeah, because now you know everybody better. You're more comfortable in the setting. You learn from other situations where you're like, yeah, because you know, you're like, if I have an opinion on this, like, let me digest it first and then go speak on it where on season two, I feel like you're a little more comfortable and know the people better. So you can say something. But I mean, Kelsey also made comments basically saying that you don't engage with women outside filming. Yeah. And that you treat the show more like work, which I was like. Like, that's exactly what I would do.

The work thing? Yeah, fully admit, of course. I would do the same. But I was really taken aback with Kelsey when she said that I don't hang out with any of the women that I don't make any attempts for a couple reasons. Because first she said that I didn't respond to her DMs, which I've done this in multiple podcasts now. I don't know if you want to see the DMs, but like they're all responded to. You want to say it? Yeah.

You know the story. She can believe you. I do believe it. I do believe it. Okay. So then, but then the other thing was that, like, she made it, she worded it in such a way that it sounded as if she's invited me out and I've, like, declined or ignored invitations. And that was never the case. Like, she hasn't invited me. I have, whenever anyone has invited me, I've gone. Yeah. Rula, Alicia, Rosie, we've all had dinners. Yeah. It's just, it was, it was strange because she made it seem like I haven't hang out with, I haven't hung out with the entire. Right. It's like, I actually just haven't hung out with. with you. And honestly, the thing is, like, my closest friend here, Rosie, has such issue with you. Yeah. It's kind of, it would be strange of me to be reaching out to you. You're being a loyal friend. It is a job. And also, that'd be like, if you have coworkers, you're not going to love everyone and want to hang out them outside of work all the time. Yeah. If she invited me to do something,

I would say, like, hey, Rosie, she invited me to do something. I think we should give it to try. Well, what are the- That would be best for all of us. What are the dinners like off camera compared to on camera? Oh, there's not much of a different. Really? Yeah. I love that.

A lot of gossip. Are there times where you're like, why are the cameras not rolling right now? There was one moment during the year where I was like, I wanted to call the EP. Yeah. Like, you guys, I just had my moment. The cameras weren't here. What was it? Rula's mistress came up to me in an event.

Oh. She didn't introduce herself as the mistress. Uh-uh. I had to be like, I know who you are. And the cameras weren't rolling. I know. Can you talk about it on season two? Yeah.

Maybe even at the reunion. If there is a season two, is there or do we know yet? Yeah, there is a season two. Oh, okay. And we don't know if you're a part of it or not? Well, I mean, like everybody's, I feel like the environment. Yeah. The environment is always like, I think everybody's on the chopping block.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We never count our tickets where they hatch. Like, Bravo wants her back, of course. When would that start filming? Midsummer, early to midsummer. Okay. Yeah. Okay.

I want to be on it. I want to be on it? Come to August. I want to. I was going to tell you last night, I was like, I'm going to utilize you. Believe you. I'm going to bring you to a party just to be like my emotional support. I would love to.

Yeah. And then I could be the sassy one for you. And then I'd be like, just kidding. We would both just like be crying in a corner. I literally would. That's so funny. You'll be there for the facial expressions too. That's so funny.

That is funny. And then, okay, I do want to come back to Audrey's. That was so fun when I came. that one time. But I love also that Audrey's is not only is Rhode Island getting put on the map, but Audrey's is getting put on the map. And I was like, because I said earlier, how hard you work and how great it is, I'm like, well, it's, I just, what is, tell me, what's the plan?

I mean, what's the plan? Well, you signed up for another year on your lease. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I extended the lease. Okay. And it's been really busy. And honestly, everybody who comes and supports Audrey's, I, like, am very much thankful before and I try to thank everybody that comes in.

And, you know, we have so many regulars that come in all the time. And they watch the show, too. So it is funny talking to them about it. Do the regulars love that it's part of a big TV show or are they like, oh. Oh, yeah, they love it. They do? Okay, good. Because it's just exciting.

Yeah. It is exciting. And, but it's funny. I was talking to the property manager. His name is Bill. He's getting a shout out on this podcast. Bill. He's funny.

He's funny. He's a good guy. And I am, no. He's not a film. But he's funny. But he's, you know, he's just, he's a property manager there, and he's a good dude. And I get along with a well. And I was talking to him.

And he was like, they were, like, looking at something, like a panel is falling out outside. And so they were looking at it. So I always go out and bust their balls because I was inside. And I was telling him to get the hell out of here. But then I was, he's like, oh, look at this guy. Like, I was like serving like so much coffee in Rhode Island because it's just so weird. And he's like, yeah, everybody like wants to save Audrey's. It's like, save Jared.

And then I was like, I was like, it's like first. But it says save Ferris. It's like I'm going to be on a water tower being like, save Audrey's. It's so funny. So now we always reference Save Ferris and Red Tom I see him. Funny. Everybody wants to save Audrey's like save Jared. He's drowning, poor guy.

Save him. Oh, it's so funny. Guys, like, it's Audrey's moment. Oh, yes. So fun. Time to save Audrey's. Yeah. I know.

It's so funny. I love Audrey's. I really. do. It is the hardest thing I've ever done probably even so more than kids. What I've found is just like it's a possible give up control. That thing is a kid

to me as well. You know, I always try to relinquish control or like give it away but it's like I was like I was telling you last night like when I walk in and like something's not done that I want to be done the way it is. Yeah. It's just like it's frustrating to me. And when you were talking about being a provider earlier, I think my dad

is very much like that where my dad is the most providing man I've ever met mine to my life. And I've definitely gotten qualities from him. You know, he's a far better man than myself. But, like, what I've gotten from him is, like, I always want to try to provide. And I try to provide for Ashley as best as I can. And I try to provide for the kids. And I try to provide for the staff there as well.

Yeah. And I think a lot of times I just spread myself too thin. And so it's hard because then, like, 10 hours goes by. And then I have to go home and she needs to get more work done. And the nanny's gone. And then, like, I have two kids. And I'm like, wow, I am. Yeah, you're burning the, what do they say?

Yeah, that's both. Burning the candle at both ends. Both ends. But tell, I mean, tell everybody where they can find Audrey's, where they can find you guys on social media. Of course. Ashley underscore Ikenetti and Jared Haven. Yeah, Jared Haven, pretty straightforward.
