Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe - Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad: Throwbacks, Exes, and Cycle Syncing
Episode Date: March 8, 2022Becca “Sultry” Tilley and Tanya “Period Influencer” Rad are joining Kaitlyn right after Kaitlyn scrubbed into their podcast for part one! They’re talking everything from Grey’s An...atomy (their specialty) to relationships and exes to sperm eyebrows. (Yes, you read that correctly.) Becca, Tanya, and Kaitlyn are taking a walk down memory lane to revisit all those interesting trends that might soon be making a comeback, like ramen noodle hair and low-rise jeans. They’re also getting into the awkward photo that made people question the identity of Becca’s boo, and Tanya is opening up about her former breakup with her now boyfriend. Honestly, if we were The Peabody hotel, we’d invite both of these ladies to be the Duck Master anytime. Hey everybody, you're listening to Caitlin Bristow's podcast, Off the Vine.
Take it away, Bree.
Wine.
Lots of wine.
Hey, be on the mic, turn it up, let's go.
Hey, ramen, Pino, ready for the show.
Everyone's welcome, so come on in because OTV, it's about to begin, hey.
Welcome to Off the Vine.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow.
I'm getting excited because we have Becca Tilly and Tanya Rad on today.
I just love when I have friends on the podcast.
They are best friends who are fellow dog parents and podcasters.
They host the podcast scrubbing in.
Yeah, it did beat me in a People's Choice Award.
So a such a fun podcast that talks about everything from TV to pop culture to relationships.
And I went on their podcast too.
So we decided to make this into a little two-part situation.
So make sure you go listen to theirs when it comes out as well.
And we hope you enjoy.
I am laughing so hard.
Okay. So, you know, Alan, obviously, on Dance with the Stars? Yeah. So we're doing, we're staying in Memphis at this place called the Peabody Hotel. And they have, they have frigging ducks, which we all know I hate birds or anything that flaps. So they have ducks that walk around the hotel. And they like go into the elevator. And I started having like a panic attack before when they told me I was going into this hotel. I was like, that is literally the one hotel is praying we weren't going to be at.
in Memphis. And so we're doing it. And Alan is, Alan's being the duck master at 5.30 p.m.
where he has to wear a red suit and like I have a duck cane and he has to like, like hurtle them into the
elevator. The elevators and do a show for the people in the lobby. Why did he get so like it?
I don't know. It's like a honor and a privilege. Also, why does this hotel have that? I don't.
No, I'm going to have to look it up.
There's got to be a reason, but I couldn't even walk past the fountain because there's ducks in it.
And I was like, if one starts flapping, I'm going to scream and it's like a classy joint.
And it just makes no sense.
I'm going to have to look up why these ducks do that?
But I'm like, do I even go down there just to like laugh at this?
But I'm also so terrified at the ducks flapping that I don't think I can do it.
I have to tell you the amount of videos I have of my phone of birds like swarming or flapping that I'm like, I'm going to send these to Caitlin.
I'm like, it's weird.
Like, I would think if I went through my videos, there's like a lot of random bird videos.
And they're all because I'm like, I'm going to send this to Kayla.
And I'm like, that feels mean.
Yeah, I never knew.
Then you have a heart and you say, I do.
Ellen, degenrous.
She always seems to like, people are like, oh, this is my biggest fear.
And then she has that, like, jump out of the box.
And you're like, that actually scares me.
Like, I'm not okay.
You're like, now my trigger is worse than ever before.
I'm, but I just think it's going to be so hilarious.
I'm actually podcasting with Alan like after he does his little duck.
Oh, wow.
What if he brings one into the room?
I, I'm going to like double triple check.
I'm not letting him in even if he like didn't wash his hands or something.
I don't know.
It freaks me out.
I'm like, why do you want to do it?
He's like, it's an honor, Caitlin.
I'm going to go watch him like be a duck master, which I don't know.
I think I'd take that as an honor too.
Would you really?
if they ask you to the Duckmaster?
Yeah, I'm not like scared of birds.
Like I don't.
I'm not either, but I would not want to be a Duckmaster.
Yeah.
I'm kidding the ultimate honor at the Peabody Hotel.
No.
You could write it on your resume.
Yeah.
Not many people have that.
I actually, you know what?
Just because we're here, I'm going to Google,
why is it such an honor to be the duck leader, master,
Duckmaster? Master? At the Peabody. There's got to be a reason. The title of Duckmaster was coined in 1940 when the hotel hired a former circus animal trainer named Edward Pembroke as a bellman. Pembroke offered to help with delivering the ducks to the fountain each day and conceived of the now famous Peabody duck march. It's tradition. It is the ultimate honor that Alan got asked to do this.
why did he get asked i was going to say i'm like wait a sec i mean i wouldn't have done it but i would
have liked to be asked that's i feel that way about everything in line yeah i don't want to go but
can i please get an invite yeah i am that is absolutely me to a tea as well like uh britt and
emma like went to shopping the other day and in i did not want to go at all and i was like
why wouldn't they invite me and then i was like i didn't even want to go like why do i feel like left
out right now. Is that social media? Like, does social media do that? Because it looks so fun on social
media. But like, you know in real life, you wouldn't necessarily want to go. So they don't,
I don't have a problem. Like, if my girlfriend's went and did something without me, like, I'm not
like, uh, at them. Like, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be upset that they left me out. But I'm like,
I don't know. Is it just wanting to feel like, I'm a, like they want me there? I don't know.
Yeah. It's, there's something psychological there.
I'll talk to my therapist.
Yeah, I'm definitely not to therapy.
I'll write that down.
I've got a whole note section of things to talk to my therapist about.
I should read that as a segment one day.
That'd be funny.
So I was just on your podcast scrubbing in, and now you're joining me for Off the Vine.
I love that we get to keep talking.
But I hate that it's too early in the afternoon for you to start having wine with me.
So, you know, time zones, man.
Yeah, I mean.
I'm not, I don't even have one open.
me because my sister took my car so I'm like I am not driving anywhere well I got drunk at noon
last weekend that's the best time to get drunk I know I was blacked out by six it was awesome
I'm right there and also blacked out by that point too what were you guys doing it was my boyfriend's
birthday party oh I saw that on social media I wanted to be there I'm sorry I love seeing you so
happy with your boyfriend and you've got a dog and Phoebe and your pup are just besties.
And they really are.
I feel like you're all, you've always been like a hopeless romantic.
Is this relationship living up to the hype of your fantasies?
You know what?
Okay.
Speaking of therapy, my therapist has told me from the beginning that I have an unrealistic
expectation of love.
Yeah.
And it's so true because I was single and I was like on the search for so long.
And I really gave it like my all.
You know what I mean?
Like I didn't half ass it.
I really gave it my all.
Yeah.
And I always was really hopeful during the whole process.
But I was like there's going to be a white horse and Prince Charming's going to have
the shoe that fits and like love's supposed to cure everything.
And you know what I like I definitely have this like pie in the sky vision of what love is.
But he, my boyfriend is literally everything that I wanted in a man.
You know what I mean?
Like the type of person that he is and his character and who he is and how we are together.
Yeah.
is everything I'd prayed for.
Yeah.
And so he really is the answer to my prayers.
Is our relationship super seamless and perfect?
No.
Absolutely not.
But I also think that no relationship is.
No, not one.
Yeah.
There's just a lot of different, you know, because he's divorced with two kids.
And so there are different things that I'm learning that I've never experienced in
other relationships because I've never been in a relationship with anybody like that,
you know, that has that.
Yeah.
But at the end of the day, like he is the type of person that.
I prayed for.
So, yeah, that can't, that's, even when you pray for the certain kind of person, even when they
come, they still aren't going to, like, you know, they can check a certain amount of boxes,
but they can't check them all.
That would be impossible.
Right.
It's like the shoe can be the perfect fit and you can still get blisters.
Oh.
You know what I'm saying?
Correct.
Did you just come up with that?
I did.
And honestly, I was like, chomping at the bit to say it as I thought it.
And I was like, like, don't let me have a little.
Yeah, don't move on you guys.
But do you know what's so crazy about, do you know what's so crazy about like having a podcast
and having like an actual time capsule of things in our lives?
Yeah.
Scrubbing and listener messaged me the other day and they were like, I'm going through listening
to old episodes and like, I wish I would have screenshot it because I can't remember.
She was like, I'm on episode Blotty Blah, year, blotty blah.
And Becca was describing the guy that she hopes that you end up with.
And it's like to a T my boyfriend.
I would love to hear that.
That's so funny.
I know it was years ago.
And I was like, wow, that's so crazy.
You have to find that and then show him and play it like on your podcast.
It'd be like, everybody, it's full circle.
You just got to put it out there.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I need it.
I want to, maybe I'll say it on our podcast so I can find that, that girl that messaged me and she can send it again.
You said it.
Yeah.
We talked about it.
Okay.
We got to find that.
Oh, I love that.
And Becca, I'm loving your red hair.
It's very spicy.
Thank you so much.
I really like it.
It is.
It's spicy on you.
What made you go red?
I'm just laughing because my cousin said the other day.
She's like, it's very sultry.
And I was like, oh, yeah, that's me.
Sultry, Becca.
They don't call her Becca, Sultry, Tilly for nothing.
My typical nickname.
Yeah.
No, I have always wanted to do it.
Everyone told me it was like super high maintenance.
So everyone was like, don't do it.
It's a lot to keep up with.
But I finally was like, I want to do it.
And now it feels like the time.
And if I don't like it, whatever.
But I'm really liking it.
It's been fun. It's not any more high maintenance than my hair was before for me.
Yeah. I like it. I think it suits you actually really well. I like when you tried to do the like
Carrie Bradshaw girls with the new. That was quite a disaster. Yeah, that was yikes.
That was his best friend. I had to step in and say, what is that?
It was what's going on? I messaged you on Instagram and I was like, uh, Becca. When I did it with
the chopstick? Yeah. Oh, well, yeah. That was very challenging. It took forever.
But it was more like, it was more like Ruth from Ozark.
Yeah.
Which is not what you want.
I didn't watch that show.
Oh.
Well, she's not like ramen noodle hair, like ramen noodle hair.
I don't watch it either, but I definitely know who Ruth is and I definitely know what her hair looks like.
Oh my gosh.
I just feel left out of the conversation with big shows like that that everybody's watching that I don't watch.
I'm like, pretty much the only reason I watch them so I can like take part in these conversations, especially on the bus with everybody.
They all have seen, have you seen peeky blinders?
No, but I always use it.
And charades because it's hard.
Oh, there you go.
Okay.
Well, I always want to, I'm like, yeah, yeah, because they all talk about peeked blinders and
there was like a new episode that came out last night and I hated that I didn't know
what was going on.
So now I'm starting piggy blinders.
Do you watch euphoria?
No.
Yeah, I feel like everybody watches euphoria and I feel really left out of that.
It's heavy.
Yeah.
Yeah, I feel like I tried.
I tried and I felt like it was so dark and I got anxiety and then I was like, why am I
doing this to myself before bed?
Me too, I got so much anxiety.
I was like, why have I watched?
I don't have to do this, but I do feel a little bit left out.
But we would rather watch people being sliced open in Grey's Anatomy.
There are certain Gray's episodes that like I cannot fall asleep too.
Yeah, I'm the same way.
I know you're very passionate about Greys and I'm passionate about wine.
Are you drinking over there?
No, but I have I have a bottle over in my suitcase that I'm debating.
Well, the whole thing is we're all going out for barbecue tonight in Memphis.
And then Iman was like, you want to go out after? And I'm like, oh, God, because then I know that's going to be trouble. So I'm like, if I start now at 4.30, I don't know if that's good for me.
I think, I think hydrating and getting geared up for tonight is the right move.
Like just with water. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. I'm being. I think you'll feel better tonight and tomorrow.
Yeah. And we have a show tomorrow. So I should probably. But I'm getting an IV drip in the morning. So really.
Oh, do it every wash.
Start drinking, yeah.
But your love for Gray's Anatomy, that's how you two started the podcast, right?
You were like, we are both obsessed.
We have to start a podcast where we could talk about it and bring this community of people together
and who are obsessed with Grace.
That's how it started, right?
No, it started.
It was just me who started it.
And I was just like, it was kind of like, I love Grace Anatomy.
And it was kind of like me talking about TV shows I was watching and different things.
And, like, the fourth episode, I think, Tanya came on as my guest because I had had my
sisters on and they totally froze.
Like, my sisters are so funny and witty.
And they got in front of the microphone and they were just like, that is my mom.
Yeah.
And I was like, what are you doing?
And so I told Tanya, she was in the studio.
I was like, hey, we, I got to fill in for this episode.
And so she came on and it was just like this quick, like banter.
And I was like, hold on.
This is fun.
Yeah.
So that's kind of how it happened.
Yeah, you're very qualified for, for the job.
Yeah, honestly, the timing of it was kind of perfect too because it was like at this point where in my career I was feeling very like imposter syndrome is really like coming in because I'm like I have this spot on the morning show and I've been made to feel like I don't really deserve to have this and I'm not qualified and my personality is too much and then I'm on this podcast.
It's like an hour and a half and it's just like Becca and I, you know what I mean?
and then we ended up like getting nominated for the People's Choice Award.
And I was like, all these people that say, I can't do this.
It was like very much like a meant to be timing of everything.
Well, the radio world, one of my best friends was in it for so long.
And it is, it's a tough world to be in.
And it's very much like a man's world.
Totally.
Yeah.
It's hard.
So you've done an incredible job and you're still crushing it.
So good for you.
Thank you.
It is a man's world.
sure but we're just chipping away chip in a way chipping away yeah i've definitely gotten a thicker
skin that's for sure like i used to cry so much and i just cry a little bit it's so funny because
my business partners for spade and sparrows there's one guy and then three women and he comes from
a law firm and he has only worked with all men and he is like will like get on me and sometimes
we'll cry or sometimes we'll be like i'm really sorry but that hurt my feelings when you said that
And he's like, I can't do it. I'm not used to this. And so it's funny to see how he's changed
so much as a business partner from when we started to now. He'll like approach things so much
differently. And he's got like way more compassion. And like sometimes we'll start the
conversation with him on my period. And he's like, okay, got it. Like it's so.
That's a man honestly. Like that is like a real man that can take that and change how he
approaches a woman because like not being like defensive and like, well,
that's dumb. You shouldn't be that sensitive to be like, okay, this is different, but let me adjust.
Yeah. That's, that's impressive. I thought it. I mean, let's not, it didn't happen overnight,
but it did. He did adjust and it is, it's, it's crazy how much of a difference it makes just because
he's like, we don't usually just communicate our feelings. But he's realized that when you do that,
it's more efficient. You get more done. You're more passionate about things. And it's a better work
environment. Much better work environment. Yeah. You can just stay how you feel. Like he can tell.
us how he's feeling too and we can be like oh i'm sorry we didn't know you felt that way it's like

What was like a
Oh, who is the biggest person from Greys you've had on your podcast?
I saw you at Owen Hunt-on.
That's pretty big.
Yeah.
We've had Owen.
We've had Teddy.
We've had Joe.
We've had George.
We've had George.
We did have George.
In the flesh.
Yeah, we got him in studio.
Oh, that was a big one.
George.
That was like one of my favorite parts about season 17.
COVID season because I'm like, we saw George again. Oh, yeah. And we had Giacomo. Yeah, we had him
twice. And then I would, I mean, obviously like a Christina Yang, Meredith Gray, those would be nice.
But we've had like, we've had like majority of the cast on our show. Current. Yeah, but like I would like
some throwbacks. Like I would like a Jackson Avery. Yeah, or an Eric Dane or Patrick Dempsey.
Christina Yang would be my ultimate. Yeah, me too. I was shook it to my core when, spoiler alert for
anybody listening who hasn't seen this, but when
Alex Scrib just got up and left
Joe, like what? I was like, wait,
what? He's just gone?
Just gone. A letter.
All we got was a letter. His character arc was
really the one of the most, like, amazing
character arcs I've seen in television history because I hated that
guy in the beginning of the series. And then
I ended up loving him.
I would also love a Kate Walsh. Like, I love it
Addison Montgomery.
Me too. See, Owen Hunt was a real
turning point for me. I thought I hated
Owen Hunt and now I love him.
Well, we didn't love him until we
had him on the podcast.
We were like not, we were so mad about him cheating on Christina
that we just like, wrote him off.
That's so funny. Did he say that
that happens to him where people are like
that you get mad at me because of my character
and it's like, I'm just playing a character.
Panya literally is like, by the way,
because we like literally bash Owen.
Like every week we're, and then he's on the podcast.
Every week, like every week I'm like,
ugh, I hate one, like barf.
I wish he died.
I'm really vocal about how much I hated his character.
And then we like get it,
we book him and I was just like,
I can't.
We can't be like,
we love Owen.
So I was like,
how do we navigate?
Tony's just like,
by the way,
I hate your character.
He drives me crazy.
And I was like,
well,
that broke the ice and he just laughed.
You know,
it's an actor.
He was like such a good sport about it
because I was like,
honestly,
ever since you cheated on Christina
and like season six,
I've hated you ever since.
So it's been a long,
long time that I've been
hating your character
and I've said it multiple times.
he was such a good sport about it he was just like people tell me that all the time and then what did he say he was like somebody cheated on owen oh amelia teddy yeah so he was like so tell me this do you hate teddy's character because she cheated on me and I was like no I kept saying yes good for her for cheating on you because you got your karma like yeah yeah funny yeah he was awesome he was great yeah he always like eats people's faces when he kisses and I don't know
really love that part but he's just kind of grown on me i've never noticed that what are you
kidding me no i never like to watch his makeout scenes because i was so grossed out by him oh man he really
goes for it goes for it yeah i think i like that personally oh yeah yeah yeah he loves a bit yeah
honey loves a visual so you can see that's about to do it at me it's like yeah i love wait i was
going to talk about this on scrubbing in, but
we ran out of the time. So, we were at Ben's
wedding, and we
all take a group shot of, like, everyone in the
Bachelor. Yeah. So I'm at the,
I'm at the bottom row, and they're like, Becca, room up to
the top. Granted, this is towards the end of the night.
I was, like, hugging everyone.
I was just, like, happy to see everyone.
And so, I,
Chris Souls is grabbing at me, and I'm like,
hey, and I'm in the picture. Well, the picture
comes out, and I'm, Sean has,
Sean Booth, has his arm
around me. And
everyone was like oh my gosh like this is who is this who becca is dating and I was like
you're that was a thing oh yes it was like a Reddit thread it was everything and I was like do I
do I even think that Caitlin would think anything of this like I was I was like I got to clarify this to
make sure she doesn't think that and people were like she's wearing his jacket and I'm like that was
my jacket I had an oversized blazer on oh my gosh I didn't even think twice about that it's just so
funny because like people just started this whole thing that that's the person I was dating and I was
like oh first of all like I know the bachelor world gets like right hazy with like borders
incestuous but sure I was like no like I literally said hi to him and and and you know that was like
kind of the extent and then we were next to each other in that photo and that was about the
interaction we had do you know it's interesting about that picture is everyone thought you
were me.
Wait, really?
So that was the experience I got from it.
Everyone was like tagging me in that photo.
And then people underneath were like, oh my gosh, it's so nice to see Sean and
Caitlin getting along.
And some people are like, I think that's Becca.
And like so many people thought it was me in that photo.
And I don't know if there's a Reddit thread because I do not step foot in a Reddit thread.
I didn't. I don't know that was a thing.
After the first season of The Bachelor, someone just messaged me and said there's
a whole Reddit thread.
And I was like, well.
let's nip that in the bud oh yeah no i didn't think i didn't think for one second because i know you
uh so i think i would be informed if you were dating him but no i saw that it was just funny how
how many people thought it was me and that was what i did who posted this photo i need to look at that
now i think ben posted it on his page recently but yeah i kind of see it for a split second i was like
oh okay i can kind of see how that people it's small it's like a lot of yeah it's a lot of people
in the far left you can barely see oh that's clearly beck
But if you just glanced.
Yeah, true.
But also, like, how, yeah, I know.
I'm like, how far off the side were you?
I was further off the side, I guess at the bottom.
And they're like, Becca, we can't see you.
And I was like, it's okay.
And they were like grabbing at me.
I was like, I didn't even know who was naked until the picture came out.
Wait, that must have been wild being at that wedding.
Was it crazy?
Because not only was there like all of the cast, but producers and like so many people as well.
Was it weird?
It was fun.
It was really fun.
Like it was nice. I haven't seen a lot of those people in a long time. So it's kind of like fun to, you know, get to see people and talk Tanya. And, you know, it was just like a big group of people that I really loved. And I was sad. I missed it. I was honestly sad. You weren't there. Honestly. It was like so fun. I know. Honestly. And because it's, my boyfriend and I started dating really two or three months right before the pandemic. So we haven't. He hasn't like met a lot of the people that, you know, we have a lot of memories with them.
stuff, so it was really fun to, like, finally have him come around and be there with everybody.
Wait, we can edit this out, but this is the guy that was before the pandemic that you were
like, he's going to realize it.
Yes.
We don't have to edit this out.
Yeah, yeah, I talked about it.
So, yeah, well, it definitely was him, but we broke up for a couple months.
Yeah.
Okay.
This is all making sense.
Okay.
So, yeah, it's always been the same guy.
I'm so glad.
I'm so glad this all worked out.
Yeah.
You don't have to edit.
any of this out because I've like been really vocal about it because we broke up. And I was like,
this is my guy. I, but we broke up and it obviously was not my decision. And so I didn't know
how to like approach it on the podcast because I was like, I talk about him all the time. We're broken up.
But I was like, I know he's my dude. So yeah, what the hell do I do? And it was like really
tough. And I cried all the time. Like I couldn't talk about it without crying. It was like really,
really sad. No, I call it the trigger event. It's the trigger. Yeah. Okay. So then if it was me,
I'm trying to put myself in that position. How are you able to feel confident?
in the relationship and not feel insecure that it's not going to work out again.
So I, I've had to go, I've had a talk, you know, therapist has had a field day with that
one. Yeah. But because of the circumstances of our relationship. So we didn't break up because
of us. So like he and I, our relationship has always been really good. It's because there's a lot
that comes with, with dads or like with people that have kids and not wanting to do anything that's
going to like what you think might harm them or, you know, bring any more pain or anything like
that. Yeah. And so we couldn't really get to the next phase of our relationship because he wouldn't
allow it. You know what I mean? He was just like, I can't do it. I can't. I'm not ready. I'm not ready.
And so we only went as far as we could at that point. You know what I mean? Like it was like we can't
continue in a relationship unless we're going to really be all in. There was also like other
circumstances outside of our relationship that were going on. And so he ended it. Yeah. But I knew
he didn't end it because he wanted to, which was the worst combination because
neither one of us wanted to be broken up. So then he kept talking to me. He kept reaching out
and wanting to touch base, which was not good for me. Yeah. It's like a best friend. I'm like,
tell him to leave you. Like, he needs to leave you alone. Yeah. So then I like, I iced him out for
like a month and a half. And he thought I was like in love with that. He thought I was dating somebody
else because I was doing all this weird stuff on Instagram to make it seem like I was dating
somebody else. I'm like, well, why would he think that? Yeah. I was like, oh, oh, that guy's
arm. It was like Robert's arm or something. Sometimes they need a little reality check.
Yeah. But anyways, we ended up getting, so we decided we were going to talk one night. And he was supposed to come to my apartment. And he called me on his way over. And he was like, I know we decided we were going to talk at your apartment. But do you mind if I take you somewhere? And so he picks me up and he takes me to the place we had our very first date. And he was like, I want to start over. Kind of explained where he was and like what had been going on the past couple months.
we had been broken up and kind of like I'm fearful of certain things but the fear of not
like he's like not we're wanting to be with you outweighs everything and so when we got
back together I had to kind of make the conscious decision of like we're both in this with
the same end goal and I can't have to kind of not forget everything that happened but I can't
hold it against him because that was our that was in the past and we're moving forward in a different
direction and he did make a lot of changes in our relationship that when we got back together
So it's definitely still in there for sure.
Like there's a little bit of insecurity, obviously.
But I have to like really kind of you can't hold on to those things because it's just it's it's like it hinders us from moving into the future.
That's really mature of you.
Because a lot of people can, I mean, I'm not a grudge holder, but if somebody has made me feel a type of way where it comes to insecurities, it's hard for me to be like, okay, well let me let.
Let me trust you again.
Let's, you know, so good for you for being able to even acknowledge the fact that you need to let that go in order for your relationship to thrive.
I do have to say, I've like not toot my own horn, but be beep.
I feel like I have matured a lot in this relationship because, you know, you're kind of forced to when there's kids involved.
You know what I mean?
Like I've had to change and mature in a way that I never even knew.
I could or would
but I think that also too
I had like I kind of created a little pod
of women that I'd met
I don't know if you know Candace King
She
They're on directionally challenged
The podcast her and Kayla Yule
Oh I've heard of that podcast okay
Yeah so she was one of the women that I met like early on
And her now husband was
Had like two kids when they met
Yeah she became a really good confidant for me
And then Teddy Mellencamp became like a
really like tight person.
So I would go to them if I needed any advice or anything because it's such a,
it's a really unique situation that you kind of have to like have a little tight knit
group.
So I kind of leaned on them for like a lot of guidance.
Yes, absolutely.
Oh, I'm so happy for you.
Thank you.
That's because I remember you telling me it's so hard because you're like, I feel like
this is my person and I'm having to just live my life without my person who's still out
there living.
Yeah.
I'm like, oh my gosh.
So I'm so happy to know that that's because when you said.
You know, he has two kids.
I was like, wait, is this the same guy?
I'm so happy it is.
Yeah, same guy.
Thank you.
Yeah.
You're welcome.
He's a gem.
He's a gym.
He's a gym.
I love him.
I've never had, even when they broke up, I was like, he's not a bad guy, but he'll
let him hurt you again.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally.
And Becca, did you move to a new home?
You bought a house.
I did, I did buy a house last April.
It's so cute, too.
How nice is that?
It's really great.
It's so nice.
my older sister and brother-in-law and all my nephews are out here and they're like able to stay with me, which is really nice because, you know, it's hard when you live somewhere to have like a bunch of people come in and stay with you. It's like. Yeah. Especially in LA when you have like no land. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, it's great. Yeah. I'm, I'm really happy. Now I'm like, where can I buy another house? Like I want to have like houses, you know. In California. Well, I have one in California now. So now it's like where else could I have a house? Nashville.
Nashville. Yeah. Well, Nashville is like getting as expensive as California. I know. Nashville's, it's still, it's still not there, but I know. It's on the up and up. Nashville is getting crazy. Okay, I wanted to get nostalgic for a second because I posted a throwback photo of me last week and it was a doozy. I don't know if you saw it, but it was the ramen noodle curly crunching here. And like the lack of eyebrows and like spermy, like little sperm eyebrows. Yes.
very familiar oh but beckie you posted one too oh yeah you always post ones on your story oh yeah that's
like beck's specialty with your hair like the the teased up hair yeah this this was this was before
the teased hair but like the eyebrows i just can't quite like what oh that is sperm chic they went
so i don't know what i think i just started tweezing i kept thinking i could make it better and
No, that was the look.
Like that was the look. I don't know.
Yeah.
That was the look.
I always want to break it down and be like, why was that the look?
And do you, you know how everything comes back?
Like, bushy eyebrows are in.
Do you think thin eyebrows will ever come back in?
Because there's a filter right now on TikTok that's called the Y2K filter.
And I was kind of here for it.
No, you were not.
No, your eyebrows are so good.
Well, let me tell you, it's thinking me a long time to get these brows to do what they're doing.
But I'm telling you,
It was like a Pamela Anderson look.
And I was like, is this?
Because it's 90s.
Everything comes back around.
And we were all watching the Super Bowl halftime show.
All the millennials were feeling like maybe old or like, I don't know.
But I feel like eventually things come back around.
Yeah, like low rise jeans are back.
And I'm like, oh.
Never.
Never.
Never.
I don't care if they're the most in style jeans of life.
And like you are like, I don't know.
I'm never wearing low rise jeans ever in my life again.
never yeah nothing sounds worse nothing sounds worse and i can't believe i did it even when i did it
i just didn't know better all right so no one wants to cut corners on the important things and honestly
what is more important than a good night's rest if something that's so important to me and if you've
been listening to the pod or following me on instagram i'm pretty sure you see me struggle with sleep
during the tour life and i've said it before and i'll keep saying it there's just nothing like these
bowl and brown sheets to really help you get some good zes okay that and a bed
that's not moving through the night.
Two of us problems, man.
Bull and Branch's signature hemmed sheets are the bestseller for a reason.

Okay, so all my Vinoes know I'm all about that skincare life,

actually work. I obviously care about what I'm putting on my skin and want to make sure it's
going to be good for me. And Osea has been making clean and effective skincare products for over
25 years. So they clearly know what they're doing and they're all known for creating amazing

It's such high quality and just leaves me feeling absolutely amazing, not oily, and, I mean,
all of Oseas products make me feel amazing.

Use codevine.
My thing is, like, doesn't it feel so soon that we're going to be able to be able to use codevine?
we're already doing these things again? Or is it that just how it works as you get older?
Like, is this how every generation feels when their stuff comes back?
I think so. I think so. And I went down a little rabbit hole, as one does on the internet.
And I found this hashtag, hashtag today's kids will never know. And I thought it'd be fun for us to
take a little walk down memory lane.
I don't know if you guys did this, but did you ever walk away from your last day of school with your
t-shirt covered in all your friend's names?
Or was that a...
I don't think I had my yearbook signed.
That was very important.
Oh my gosh.
We used to get...
We used to get school t-shirts and on the back it had like a blank thing for you
to all have your friends, write your name.
I wonder if that was Canadian.
I think it was Canadian because I've never seen that.
No, I don't know that something about that feels familiar.
I just don't know if that was like a...
I just know my mom was like so weird about riding on clothes.
Like I, you know, weird about it.
that stuff. So maybe I just, I was only allowed to get my yearbooks time. What about the joy of going to
a blockbuster? And that was like the best. The best ever. I feel so bad. We kind of have that now
with like all the options on like streaming. I spend more time perusing the streaming sites and
figuring out what I should watch than watching TV shows. Yeah, but you don't get to smell the tapes or
like walk around and see which ones are available or not. Or like, yeah, it would be.
people go in the swinging doors with the porn behind it and you're like trying to take a peek
so you're like I saw boobs I did like Blockbuster I did enjoy Blockbuster I loved that I like
kind rewind like you had to rewind yeah they charge you more if you didn't yeah yeah I really
I don't know and then remember there's like certain amounts of them and if all the copies you
had to look behind and if all them were gone you just like push them yeah yeah
Oh, man. Okay. Do you remember how intense it was to pass notes back and forth in class?
Like, do you guys do a list? Like, oh, my list of like one to three. Like, I like Mike Amos the most.
Neil Ruhl second. And I'm trying to think of guys in my school. And Colin Gershide was third.
And then you'd pass it. And then like, would you. So like, I just would write notes. But now that I think about it, I guess it was just like texting where I'd be like, hey, what's up?
You texted in school?
No, no, I'm saying, I guess, like, because in my mind, I'm like, what was I writing notes about?
Like, what was I taking time to write notes about?
But I think it would be the same as, like, what I would text someone about?
Just like, hey, hey, how was your day?
How was your weekend?
Yeah.
Oh, I was always like, what's your list and what guys do you think are the cutest right now?
And then we were like, right now.
Did you always, were you the girl that always had a boyfriend, like, even from like fifth grade?
Yeah, always.
Yes.
Fifth grade, it was Mike Amis.
and Colin Germshide.
Yeah, they were fighting.
I'm impressed with your memory of their name.
I had Austin Tolliver,
Brandon Sherrier,
Jeremy Little,
yeah,
it was a collection.
I can barely remember the guy
I lost my virginity too.
Oh.
Wait,
what about having to print out
Map Quest directions to and from
like wherever you're going
and you had to like print it out and know,
like how do we make it through these times
before technology?
I don't know because I still get large.
lost with my GPS on my phone.
So I don't know how we did that back in the day.
Well, also, well, you lived in a small town.
You grew up in a small town.
I grew up in a, not a small town, but I knew where everything was.
So there were very few times where I didn't know where something was.
But I did have to print out MapQuest and read it while I was driving.
Not only did I have to print out MapQuest, but one time to get to my friend's cabin,
I had to look at how many, and again, this was Canada, so kilometers.
and it was like at six kilometers when you see your like the little ticker hit six kilometers
that's when you turn left and go down this um like it was like back alleys and back roads to get
to his cabin and i was like 16 because that was the age you could drive at and i'm like i can't
even imagine a 16 year old like going down these dark roads late at night to go to their
guy friends cabin to hang out with all your buddies like yeah no
times are different
times are different
it feels like they were simpler then
but no they were
yeah they were for sure
Lowe just did a 50 day
social media cleanse
have you ever done a cleanse before
no but I need to
I've been part of your dog
but not a social media cleanse
yeah
I mean you know you've done a juice cleanse
don't yeah
it wasn't a juice cleanse
but yeah I've done other cleanses
no I could use
a social media cleanse. I think it'd be good. So he didn't look at it for 50 days. Yeah. He like stayed
away from it and it was 50 days. And I actually was so worried about him. And I like called him like
power called him like five times in a row being like, are you okay? Like I didn't see him on social
media. So but you can't take a break because you're going to be a period influencer on TikTok.
So. Tanya. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. I don't want to do a 50 day detox because I
like it. Like I like seeing all my period
TikToks and like learning about
the anatomy and like
why my period is the way it is. Like I like
my social media time. I don't think you scroll for hours
at time though. I think you scroll probably like 10 and then
you're done. Yeah. Yeah. I do like healthy
yeah. That's a skill set in itself. You have a
healthy relationship with your phone. What's that like?
You know, therapy is really working for me and just all
aspects of my life.
Depends what part of your cycle you're in.
What app do you use for your period?
So I was using the flow app, but now I just know it, like, I know all my faces, by the way I feel.
Oh.
Battle of the arrogance of the.
Yeah, cycle syncing.
Are you cycle sinking?
Yes, with the girls?
No.
Oh, what?
Cycle sinking is where.
Oh, my God.
I've talked about this on our podcast like a million times.
I think is when you're synced up with whoever.
That's what I thought.
No, cycle syncing is like how you eat an exercise and like in alignment with the phase of your period that you're in.
Yes, I do that.
So like, yeah, there's certain foods you eat at each phase and certain workouts you do in each phase.
Yes.
Because I use, what is the app I use?
My flow.
Yeah.
Okay, my flow.
Yeah.
So then it tells me my cycle phases and like right now I'm here.
I'm in my ludial phase.
Uh-huh.
So.
training.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Strength training.
Are you strength training tonight?
I'm going to strength train my arm with eating barbecue.
Yeah.
That's not it.
That's what I'm going to do.
Okay.
Last thing that I want to do is normally we make people confess, obviously, and come
with prepared confessions.
But I feel like you guys are like me, where you're just open books.
So I wanted to see if you had any extra confessions or just funny stories to share with me.
So I picked out a couple of categories.
just brainstorm and see what comes to mind, okay?
Becca is in this.
I just looked at her and she said her eyes closed.
Can you something,
whatever my last confession was with on your podcast,
people were like, oh my gosh,
I was dying at your confession.
I was like, did I overshare?
But I can't remember what it was.
Wait, I'm like, gross though.
I think it was gross.
I think it was like, the thing I'm thinking it is,
I'm just like, was that it or I'm going to overshare again?
Was it about who?
I think so. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'll leave it there. Do you have any date night
confessions? I just to say, so I bought this like crotchless like necktie thing for Valentine's Day.
You know, I think I've bought for him. I still haven't worn it. Oh. Oh. I know. And February's over. I'm like, why? Because I'm telling you, we're just not, it's like, just strike.
Not dry. Not dry. Not like, not like, not like, keep. Not like.
He's just like straight up like sex.
But maybe,
maybe tonight's the night.
Yeah,
maybe that will,
your crotchless number will spark some spice
and then you'll get back into a little phase.
Yeah,
like I like that phase.
Like I like doing like weird things.
So I got these underwear.
They're crotchless,
right?
And it's like a thong.
And then there's like this string
that just comes up your body.
It's like a collar.
It's like a collar.
And then there's like a choker on top.
Oh, shit.
Yeah, it's actually like really cool.
So uncomfortable.
Yeah, but you don't, it's not, you don't wear it for the comfort.
I know, I know.
I'm just like imagining like, you like harnessing in is so funny.
Like nothing sexy about putting those sexy things on.
Like the, a collar you're like in your crotch.
It's like putting on a body suit.
It's like or taking it off.
It's so awkward.
I literally was like, how am I going to, what if I put this underneath something?
Like I need, I don't know, like, because I normally wear like crop tops.
I'll see the line going down.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So anyways.
I guess that's a confession.
but I really want to wear it.
So maybe tonight's the night.
I think tonight's the night.
Yeah.
I got it for him on Valentine's Day to wear it on Valentine's Day.
But Valentine's Day was a Monday and like we had a really rough night with our dog the night before.
Things don't always go as planned for Valentine's Day when.
For sure.
Yeah.
I don't think of having any good date.
I don't have any.
What's the other categories?
Okay.
Have you ever had a really embarrassing pup parenting fail confession?
I mean, Phoebe eats.
edibles all the time like it's a problem so i guess that i mean but they're never mine like
i'm very particular about where i keep mine and phoebe people like leave their bags on the ground
or whatever and i if i forget now i'm like very much like someone walks in the door and sets their
bag down i either go grab it and put it somewhere elevated or i'm like hey she'll get into that
yeah i've had to take phoebe to the vet three times because she's eaten edibles and i mean she's just
chilling she's like living her best life but oh for sure
you know, I'll be like in the vet and people are like running in with their dogs who are like dying and I'm, they're like, what's wrong with your dog? And I'm like, she's high. I need to. Is she good? Can I take her home? But yeah, those, I mean, I have failed multiple times with that. That's so funny. If Phoebe just likes to get high. She's a stoner baby, you know? She's a stoner baby. I stuck my tongue in, uh, in Sunny's mouth the other night. Because like, I just am obsessed with her breath. Yeah. I get it. I got really close. I just like,
I like ate her mouth.
Yeah.
It was gross.
You put your tongue in her mouth.
No, my tongue and I like, I put her mouth in mine.
All right.
Well, we're going to keep an eye on you to report you if I need to.
No, I do that.
I love the puppy breath.
I love puppy breath.
And I also love like when Pino or Robin is laying on me and I like just breathing in
and out through my nose where their dog hair goes up and out of my nose, like each breath.
Oh, I mean, I like obsessively inhale Phoebe's paws.
Like when I'm stressed, I'll like,
grab her and be like, like, it gives me, like, serotonin.
Yeah.
So weird.
It's so weird.
See, but all dog lovers out there will get it.
What about, uh, friendship confession between the two of you?
Anything embarrassing ever happened to the two of you together?
I've had some pretty nary farts in like the nail salon.
And Becca's like, I have secondhand embarrassment because she's there with me.
It's not even embarrassing.
It's like the funniest thing.
I like, I'm so, I'm like a 12 year old boy when it comes to farts.
I think they're so fun.
I used to chew sugar-free gum all the time.
Like, I would just chew it, like, nonstop.
I didn't realize how gassy that stuff made you until, like, I was, like, knee-deep in.
Until she was up in salon and she was literally gets up to walk to pay.
And she's like, you know, got her hands out, letting her nails dry.
And it's just like every step, a fart came out.
And I was like, I couldn't hold it.
It was like every.
It was like kind of not busy.
So, like, it was kind of quiet, you know, because the nail salon is going to be
loud and it was like we all kind of were looking at each other like we all hurt we all heard and
she was like looking at me panicked like it won't stop like I was like what are you doing like hold
it oh my god but I also feel like there was this one time that Beck and I were um we're out
out to lunch and I was dating this one guy that I met like on Wilshire Boulevard and I was supposed
to go out with him that night like literally was like a Saturday I was supposed to go on a date
with him that night and Beck and I are like eating lunch at like somewhere far at the
palisades and this guy comes walking on the street holding some other girl's hand and it was
him and I literally froze and I was just like I couldn't even get words out thank God Becca knew who
it was I just knew without her saying because I was like she was like Becca no no no no no and I look
they walked right past us like we crossed paths like there was no and I was like I'm supposed to
go out this guy tonight and he's holding this bitch's hand right in front of me yeah this moment
and so what did you do I didn't go out of him she said hi but it was like hi but it was like
hi and then she didn't go out. She goes, do I go out with him? And I was like,
Kanye, come on. Let's literally not. That's, my sister just had this experience. She went on a
date with a guy and, uh, his wife called her the next day. My sister, her? Yeah. Oh, my God.
No, I recently posted like, I've been in a relationship for almost four years and I talk about on
the podcast. Like I talk about being in a relationship. I haven't talked about who I'm in a
Four years? Almost, yeah. Wow. Okay.
I was shocked that you and Jason, when y'all posted your, it was like your fourth
Valentine's Day together or something? Or third? Yeah, he said fourth and I'm still confused
by that, but I guess it is. I was confused too, but yeah, I had to go through this whole process
too. But anyways, I was, I posted the other day, someone was like on the answer and question
thing on Instagram and they were like, so are you in a relationship? Are you still looking? And
I was like, yeah, I'm in a relationship almost four years. And people,
People were so shocked, like, could not believe it.
And then this one person goes, so is Tanya who you're in a relationship with?
And I was like, absolutely not.
I love her so much.
Absolute chaos.
That's so funny.
Yeah.
But what is interesting is like Becca is a lot similar to my significant other.
And I'm very similar to Becca's significant other.
So there is something, yeah.
We do help.
She helps me navigate.
And she helps me navigate.
oh that's perfect
that's so perfect
Becca will you ever share your
relationship or is it just so nice
to be private it's so nice to be private
and also there's you know
we take so many cute photos and videos
and I'm like oh you know I'd love to share these
but I'm not like
I don't I'm not saying like never will I share
it but it is so nice that it's ours
and there's a lot of you know a lot of people
are like we're so happy
happy for you, but why don't you share your relationship? And it's like, there's a lot of pressure
from people. But, you know, as long as I can reel it in and be like, it's about me and my
us. I love that. I'm actually a little jealous of that. I think it'd be so nice to have that
between and without the pressure and to just have it for yourselves. I like that. Thank you. Yeah,
I think there's, there's pros and cons that you. Of course. Yeah. It's like nice to share, but I'm sure you
probably get times 10 people saying like, you guys like just scrutiny on any relationship
move you make like I'm sure
people have an opinion that you live together
before you're married or that you do this
or whatever it's like everybody has an opinion
about something. Yeah exactly
literally everything but
I got to go watch Alan
I'm going to watch Alan
please video this
master some ducks I'm literally going to run
down right now and just catch the tail
out of it he texts me and he goes
please don't make me do this alone
because nobody's going to do it
Oh my gosh. It's so sad. You have to go support him. This is a big deal.
I'm going to go support him from afar with a zoomed-in camera because I didn't get near the ducks.
No.
Yeah. I feel like everyone that listens to my podcast listens to yours, but if they don't, where can they find it?

It really is. It's really cool. Thanks. That's amazing. Okay. Well, I'm so happy for the both of you and I just adore you both. And so happy we got to chat today.
The feeling is mutual. We need to do it again, but with wine. I agree. I wish I could drink right now. That would have been.
You know what? I actually want to come to L.A.
strictly for, like, hanging out with friends and podcasting in person.
I think our, my favorite podcasts of ours are when we're drinking.
Yeah, that's really fun.
Yeah.
So bring the spade and spares and let's do it.
Okay.
Seriously, whenever you have time.
Even if it's like soon and we just talked about.
So I still think we could always find things to talk about over one.
For sure.
And I will bring my crotchless panty, like next thing.
Yeah, because it's a little fashion show.
I'll help her get it.
into it.
Yeah, we'll help you strap in.
We'll take photos for her, like sexy photos.
I love it.
