Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story.
Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge,
there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice.
And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am.
It's not just any audiobook.
This is a full cast performance.
So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry,
brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads Sing is Mr. Darcy.
And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything.
Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix.
Talk about a dream cast.
Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics,
and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy.
And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels
so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again.

Here's Caitlin.
Welcome to Fyme.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow.
This is my second podcast of the day, so you know what that means.
I'm drunk.
You're not drunk.
It means I'm going to be even more unprofessional.
No, I'm a little buzzed, but that makes for a, there you go.
That makes for a good podcast.
I feel like it's very on brand for me to be a little drunk on a podcast.
You know what I mean?
In the studio today, we have country singer and my friend, Canaan Smith.
How many people call you Canon?
Everybody, except you.
Seriously, I hear it all the time.
I always talk about this because I have, I'm known to butcher a few names.
Me too.
But, I mean, I always made sure from the second that I knew of your song.
I'm like, is it Canaan or Cannon because I need to figure this out, which was a long time ago.
Thank you for caring.
Because I knew if I ran into you in Nashville, not knowing what the friendship would become, I was like, I need to know how to pronounce his name.
Well, funny story, you'll love this because you know my wife, Christy.
And so the first time I met her family, and we had been talking seriously, you know, on the phone.
I think the understanding was we were definitely dating, right?
But she lived in Ohio.
I lived in Nashville.
and I was on the road and we're doing our long-distance thing.
So I didn't immediately meet her family.
But eventually when I did, she introduced me, I swear to God,
she introduced me to her family as canon.
Yes, she did.
And we had been dating for several weeks.
And I just looked over at her and I was like, what?
What did you just?
Did that kind of make you like her a little more?
I loved her even more for it.
I promise, I did.
I did.
She just, uh...
I bet.
That's funny.
It was funny because I wasn't quite used to everybody doing that just yet because I hadn't even released a single yet that had worked at radio.
I had released one years before and it went top 40, but I hadn't put Love You like that out yet.
Oh, okay.
And so I was still on the road as an opener, acoustic opener, and just playing a few songs, you know, tagging along on the bus of the headliner, actually.
Oh, that's cool.
I caught a free ride and made some new fans.
It was awesome
That was with love and theft actually
Oh, that's fun
And the reason I was on the road with them
Was they had a tour
Because of their song Angelize
So when I went to Ohio to play
This show with them
Freeloading on their bus as their opener
I met Christy in Ohio
That night on this show
On this tour
Long story short
Basically without that song for them
Being a hit
Oh, I'm sorry, the missing piece is
Her favorite song
at the time at that time in her life was was angelized and so her brother her brother bought her
tickets she has a twin sister yes her the older brother bought them tickets to go see love and theft
no way and that's how you guys met i was on tour with love and theft and that's how we met that song
literally brought us together so thanks love and theft wait there's so many full circle moments here
do you know those guys no but your song brought me and sean together that's right that's what you
Is that a full circle moment or is that just coincidence?
No, it is.
Well, I mean, for me, I had never experienced before an actual, this is something I can pinpoint in our story.
That same night that we met, there was a massive thunderstorm, or I have a snowstorm in Ohio, like every winter.
Yeah.
But this one was really bad, and it was bad enough that they almost didn't come to the show.
Christie and her sister and friends decided to almost not come to the show.
And so, you know, had they not come, probably wouldn't have.
met her and whatever you know that's how the story would go yeah but you know sometimes literally
um i feel like god orchestrates a plan so beautifully that you know it takes a song to to make it
happen you know they love that song they didn't want to miss a concert they love music
christie still loves music yeah and that's one of the things i love about her is just her passion
for music because i obviously have the same passion yeah of course but it was really cool that that
song really brought us together. And like you said, when you guys were on the show,
you on, on, uh, oh, was it the Bachelorette? Yes. Or the Bachelorette. It was your show.
Yes. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I can't keep track of it. Okay. You're so famous. I don't know
which one. Oh, yeah. That's what it is. Yeah. I don't know which one. It was the Bachelorette.
It was a bachelor's, which we are huge fans of. And we were, we loved you on that show.
We truly did. You were our favorite. Thanks.
And Sean was awesome, too.
But there was a situation where I was going to fly out and sing that song, right?
Yes.
Because isn't it just so crazy how you, I mean, you were just saying that meeting somebody and a song bringing you together.
And that is what it was.
So when I was The Bachelorette, Sean and I would exchange notes.
And there was only one other guy that would slip me notes in the house, but I had zero interest in him.
And so Sean's notes, I'd be like, I would read every word.
and I would dissect everything, and I would, like, study his writing.
And I remember this one part, he said, download, oh, because we couldn't, he couldn't
listen to music until a certain point in the show.
I could listen to music because, you know, they want you to just get in your own head and not
have anything to, like, you know, music can make you feel grounded and I can, you know,
and so they don't want that.
But I, as the lead got to listen to music, but I didn't have my phone.
So they gave me this silly little iPod, like Sheple.
And I had, I mean, there's probably only 10 songs on it.
And your song, Love You Like That, was my favorite song on my playlist.
No way.
And yes.
So was it your own playlist?
Yes.
No, that's awesome.
Yes.
Yeah.
So you listen to country music.
Oh, I love country.
Okay.
My other songs on there were like dirt, Florida, Georgia line.
Awesome.
I love country.
And that was actually something that Sean and I bonded over as well was loving country
music and so in one of his notes he was telling me like by the way my last name's booth because
you don't know that when you meet these people right and he said this is my favorite ninja turtle
like it was like so many weird random facts and he said and and my favorite song is love you like
that um by canaan smith download it love it and he goes download it love it and i wrote him back
and i said that's my number one song on my playlist right now and so we bonded immediately over that
So as soon as, you know, you don't have much alone time with them off camera.
But if we had any second that we're like, please, can you just play Love You like that for us?
And we would slow dance and just like, like, smell each other.
That's so cool.
Because we're like, we're like just taking the moment.
And we would, you know, just like have the.
So I remember being on top of a boat in New York.
And we made them play the song and it was raining.
And we just like had 20 seconds to listen to your song.
That sounds like it could have been.
music video.
Should have been.
Hey, we can recreate one.
We had a blast shoot in the music video.
Christy was in my music video.
My wife, that was so cool.
It's so beautiful.
That was actually the first time she'd ever been on camera at all, and I think she crushed it.
Okay, I was going to say, because she's very shy.
That's the only reason she's not here today is she is terrified of the thought of hearing her own voice.
She's like one of my girlfriends.
Yeah, I know.
It's just me.
It is not, I know, promise.
Don't take it personally.
I don't.
She adores you.
No, she's shy.
She just is terrified of the skin.
kind of stuff which I just find and she's working and she's working she's so sweet she's honestly
Sean and I had this conversation the other day that she's probably the nicest person we've ever met
yeah me too and that's like she really is she was before I knew I loved her she was still the
nicest person I met you know what I mean I'm not just saying that because I love her but she's just
a sweetheart there's a lot of great people out there but she's she's the greatest she is very special
I've ever rolled with yeah yeah she's just such a genuine sweetheart and so so that's funny because
knowing that she's in your music video,
I can't imagine her in front of the camera.
And she crushed it.
She did crush it.
She was scared.
She was so natural,
probably because it's with you.
Yeah, we were just trying to just kind of mingle and do our thing
the way we would if nobody was around.
Yeah.
But that's not easy to do.
You've got a crew of people around and cameras in your face.
It's not easy to.
I still have a hard time with that with photos.
A photo shoot?
Man, I get the most ridiculous lock jaw kind of looking face.
And I think, you know, I'm like...
Do you like the Chandler smile?
Yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly.
Yeah.
It's terrible.
And, man, I can't figure it out still to this day.
But the ones that are the best are where I just don't, not thinking about it.
Yeah, of course.
That's what we're trying to do.
I mean, that, if anybody hasn't seen the video, go watch it.
It's really beautiful and sweet because I love when singers have their, like, wives involved.
Because I'm like, yeah, why did you put a random girl in that video?
I mean, if they weren't hot, maybe we'd get another girl.
Reconsider.
Right.

Have you guys ever done the Enneagram test?
No, but everybody's talking about that, and I need to know what that is.
Because Russell and Kaylee Dickerson were telling me about it on the last podcast.
I love them. We love them.
Well, we had such a fun triple date night with them at our house.
Oh, my gosh.
That was so much fun.
We got to talk about that.
Oh, we will.
Oh, we will talk about it all.
So I'm surprised that didn't come up at the house because they are like big believers in the enneagram.
Maddie and Tay were just talking about it.
And it's like actually really interesting to know for relationships.
Like sometimes people have to do it for even just getting a job just because it's a personality type.
And I'm just so curious what you guys would be because.
Sean and I are both threes, which that means nothing to you, but we're both achievers.
But there's like Kaylee Dickerson, you know how she's very comforting and like easy to talk to you.
And she's a nine.
And anyways, it's just so interesting.
I was going to ask what you guys were, but get back to me on that one.
Yeah, I will.
We'll do it.
We'll talk about it next time for sure.
I'm so curious what you guys would be.
I am too.
I mean, she's an Aquarius and I'm a Virgo.
Okay.
I know nothing about.
She's a nurse practitioner and I'm a.
artist so there's you know we're definitely um kind of on the opposite i feel like she would be okay
wait just remember these numbers i feel like you're going to be a three and i feel like she's going to be a
nine okay cool three and nine yeah let me know because if i'm right i'm going to be so happy about it
all right let's know but we were saying this before um the podcast even started with how um
we're all so busy and it's so nice to just like spend that quality time with people and
and what I was getting at was because Christy has,
she went to school when you were with her.
Yeah.
And so you were on the road.
She's going to school.
Now she works.
You're still going on the road.
Yeah.
A lot of people would find it challenging to do the long distance and you guys did it
from the start.
But we were saying that it's kind of nice to miss each other.
Yeah, absolutely.
And it's so nice for each person and each individual in a relationship to have their own thing.
Yeah.
And do you guys find that?
Obviously, it's going to be challenging when you go on the road and when you are doing this long distance.
But isn't it so nice to miss somebody and come back to them and just like really appreciate your time?
Yeah.
I mean, I can relate to that recently because I've been off the roads.
I was off the road up until a few weeks ago just to kind of, you know, the first part of the year is usually not heavy touring season.
And also I was transitioning between new deals and stuff like that.
So I've been off the road the first part of the year.
and I was getting a lot of home time
that I'm not used to
and even that was sort of
in a weird way, an adjustment.
Yeah, of course.
Yeah, because you're so used to something
and then it's a bunch, it's a lot at once.
Well, put it this way, we got married
and like a few weeks later
I went on radio tour for a love you like that
and I was gone for 40 days at a time.
And she's in school.
And she's in a brand new town
from Ohio living in Nashville,
no friends, in school.
Yeah.
You know, it's just a big transition for us.
But I was used to being gone, gone, gone,
gone and we kind of got used to that it took about a year for that to be a normal thing for
us but we got used to it and then I came off the road most recently um kind of reorganizing
before I went back out and in that downtime that was a readjustment period too I love being around
her and she loves being around me more than anything obviously but um I I feel that sometimes too
where um I can sense in her or she can sense in me maybe we're a little short with each other
There's a little frustration maybe because I'm an overachiever, as you know, and I'm always wanting to.
I'm a three.
I'm a three.
So I feel like in a weird way professionally in the back of my mind, sometimes I struggle with what am I missing out on?
What should I be doing right now?
And I feel like most recently, God's kind of been rewiring that thought process in me and pulling me back a little further so I can see, you know, basically that.
My viewpoint is clear now that what matters most is the stuff that's going to be around forever.
Yes.
That relationship that must be nourished forever.
You know, music is...
That's so important.
Music is something that I'm going to do for the rest of my life.
Yeah, of course.
It's your passion.
It's what you're good at.
It's your life.
Exactly.
But it's also, you know, it's not the one thing I can't live without.
Right.
You know, and so I think that it's been a cool season for us of learning how to kind of refocus
and be re-grounded.
I love that.
I love when people learn and grow and are able to communicate and talk about these kinds of things.
Because I think a lot of people are just like, yeah, I'm on the road, I'm doing that, you know,
but like to be able to be so self-aware and aware of what's important and learn and be able to talk about that too.
Well, perspective can get jacked up when you're pursuing, when you're running, run, and you're always trying to get the next goal.
I think your perspective can kind of get a little hazy.
And so definitely appreciate the times when I can refocus.
Yeah.
It's been a good thing.
That's amazing.
Sean's the man.
He is the man.
Anyone who talks to him, you guys are so great together.
Anyone who talks to Sean for five seconds, I always say this, can tell he is a good man.
He is.
You can always tell.
He's just a good dude through him through.
I think he's a great guy.
That's, so he, obviously, because we kind of jumped topics, but that's what we do on this podcast,
wanted you to come to his hometown date so that you could sing the song.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right.
So that I could, because in hometowns on The Bachelor, you go to that person's where they grew up and whatever.
And so he wanted you to sing our song there and surprise me.
But the Bachelor had other plans.
And so we didn't get to do that.
You mean you weren't in control of the situation?
Shocker, right?
Spoiler alert.
The Bachelor and the Bachelor.
where I do not have control.
You know, I was on the amazing race back in the day.
I forgot, yes, I didn't know that.
So I know exactly what you're talking about when.
Oh, that's so funny.
I totally forgot.
When you have no control of the situation, I know exactly what you're talking about.
Wait, I cannot believe I forgot about this.
It's just something that, I mean, it takes a while, like, I remember having to explain
to friends and family for the longest time trying to explain what was really happening
behind the scenes versus what they were seeing on TV.
and eventually I had you know everyone sort of I answered everybody's questions and it kind of you know now it's
just a memory to me and it was a great experience but at the same time I don't think I would do it again
no I can't believe that's not in my notes I totally forgot well I forgot to on purpose yeah yeah
how long it was a dramatic end what year was that that was uh I don't know what year but I just
I think it was a season 15 whatever that uh whenever that was so were you already involved in the
I had a publishing deal as a songwriter, but I didn't have a record.
Okay, okay.
So I was, and actually, I just signed my first ever publishing deal in like 30 days later,
asked if I could go do this show for 30 days and not, not right.
Wait, filming was 30 days?
So, it was 30 days.
How far did you get?
Halfway.
But it was a 30-day commitment for, that's the entire period of filming that they do,
whether you finish last or first.
And so it's a 30-day commitment.
How long was your?
commitment 12 weeks 12 weeks oh my god yeah it's like where were you the whole time would do it everywhere we
were in california we were in texas we were in new york we're in ireland every couple weeks every
couple weeks we were in ireland for three weeks which was like aggressive really have you ever
been to i have i love it there um europe in general for me i lived in germany so um i call it the
European meltdown after three weeks where it's just like too much of not like what you know.
Yes. And I love it for the first few weeks.
Something as simple as the plumbing and like the. Yes, exactly. Like I just want to order like a
meal that I know. And like, yeah, it was it was definitely like that. And being on camera and
dealing with everything in Ireland. Like I was just so thankful that they spoke the same language
because I'm like, Germany killed me after seven months. But that's, yeah, I always think about
the difference in filming, like, Bachelorette in 30 days?
Could you imagine?
That'd be even crazier than it already is.
But, like, I guess you need more time than that to fall in love and find your love.
I mean, do you, though?
Well, actually, I didn't take that long.
Yeah, because you don't need that.
You're right.
No.
Because I think about it.
You know when you know, and that's cheesy but true.
But that's why I'd say that way is absolutely true.
No, that is why I found being Bachelorette so difficult.
I thought it was going to be so much.
much fun. I found The Bachelor to be a breeze. But it's because that guy wasn't my person.
Yeah. And I didn't fall in love right away. I was like convincing myself that I was in love
the whole time that by the end I was like, yeah, maybe I am. Where was Sean, I was like,
I knew like that night. Are we allowed to cuss on here? Thank God. I didn't know. I was trying
to be all proper. I do all the time. Oh, yeah, yeah. Sorry. Anyhow, that night. Don't be proper.
It's me. That night I was like game over. And that's what made it so difficult because number one,
the producers do not want you to be in love night one because they need to make a show.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And so it was really challenging for them, for the producers, for me, for the guys.
Like, because it was, I mean, I think every guy in the house knew that it was Sean and the producers
kept trying to, you know.
Oh, really?
Yeah, because obviously you have to keep pursuing different relationships the whole way.
Yeah, because that's what you signed up for.
Exactly.
And you get so confused because you're like, well, I have to keep going with four more relationships
and to the end and then two.
and you're, like, so confused and just drained by the end.
I'm sure.
So it's actually really hard when you do because, like you said, like, you do know sometimes right away.
Yeah.
And, I mean, not for everybody.
Some people can fall in love later and it can work out for them too, but, you know.
Absolutely.
But then you ended up coming to our date night.
That was awesome.
That was actually the coolest moment of my life.
It's so cool.
Yeah.
I loved it, too.
I was actually down.
the street, we were already having beers down the street when Sean hit me. He had pre-planned it
or whatever. But that same night that he booked a surprise date for you, I was just down
the street having some beers. And so I came in there feeling pretty loose. I hope it was not
a terrible performance. But tell everybody what happened. I don't, I can't. Honestly, it was the best
private performance like where was it was at that uh sips and strokes yes sits and strokes it was like a
private um sean had rented out the whole room where this girl gave us a private art lesson and so we were
painting the two of us in drinking wine and we painted this picture of a guitar that like he did one half of
the guitar and i did the other and when you put the paintings together it's one and so obviously
you sing our song and so i thought it was already the most incredible surprise that he booked out
this room for us to paint together i was like that's so romantic
And so we were done
And all of a sudden the door opened
And you walked in with a guitar
And started singing our song
And I mean I cried
And it was so fun
And it was just so cool
Because you guys were having a good time
We had the best time
And some whine out
It was so romantic and so fun
And it was so different
Than any other like date night
Yeah
And then having you come in
And you just sat in front of us
With your guitar and did your thing
And you know when you like
Hear people on
Like your phone
or like a, yeah, I was going to say CD.
I'm like, is that old school?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, CDs.
But you know.
I know.
It's so sad.
But you know when you hear people and then in real life, you are better in real life than like what you could ever imagine.
I mean it with all of my being.
Like I was like, wow.
Thank you.
It was moving and it brought me to tears, not just because it was our song, just because it was so incredible.
And it was so, I don't know, intimate just to have you sitting there and us and it was our song.
And I don't know.
That's so cool.
Thanks for saying.
It was really, really cool.
Well, that's the kind of a moment you deserve, so I'm glad you all.
He's created with his dates.
I need to step my game up.
I feel like.
He has to have.
Yeah, he's got it down.
Yeah.
He had to stand out in a pack of a bunch of dudes.
It's true.
And then it was like, you know, you come out of a show like The Bachelor and you're like, well, I better make these dates, like, pretty huge.
Now we're starting to tone it down a little bit.
Just go out for sushi.
Yeah, like this birthday.
It was just his birthday.
the other day and I'm like, I got him
a barbecue and we like went golfing and it was
like the best thing ever. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, yeah.
It was really nice. So you guys golf?
Oh, yeah. Do you guys golf? I do.
Christy does not, but I love golfing. Yeah. Or at least
she actually used to work at a golf course. Back in college,
she was selling beer to the high school or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Making tips,
you know. So she would ride along and help us with the beer.
Yeah, of course. Well, that's the best part of golfing, in my opinion.
Cheers.
Yeah, cheers to that. But we should take her.
okay so do you guys know shaline woodley she was on big little eyes i'm a very big fan of that show and her
her and sam clapland have come out with an amazing movie a drift is based on the inspiring true story of two free spirits whose chance encounter leads them to love and the adventure of a lifetime a story of two sailors tammy who's played by shaline woodley and richard played by sam claflin

But, oh, I know what I was going to say.
Okay, so you said something.
Remember we went to a haunted house for Halloween?
Yeah, that was fun.
A big group of us.
It was so much fun.
Damn, that was a good one, too.
They got me.
Remember I punched a guy in the face?
Yeah, you did.
Oh, man.
Oh, God.
If it wasn't you, it was going to be me next.
I get so, I get, like, creeped down.
I'm surprised they don't, like, make you sign something before you go in there.
I feel like they get too close.
They get too close.
I don't think that I.
I don't feel bad about it.
I don't think I signed anything that said, yeah, you can get up in my grill.
Yeah, no.
And they do.
They get really close.
I'm surprised they don't, I mean, they probably do get hit all the time.
I had one dude at a haunted house just like that.
Yeah.
One year I went with, you remember Matt Haynes, our buddy Matt Haynes?
We're with Matt Haynes and some friends.
And there was this dudes in tidy witties and Roller's case.
And he came up and cornered me.
I'm literally standing in the corner of this dark room with these crazy, like, strobe lights.
And this dude in tidy witties and he's like up.
in my space.
Yeah.
And I almost punched him like you did.
But you went ahead and you went ahead and actually punched somebody.
Yeah, I physically punched him right in the face.
So you just went in for the kill.
Because you probably had time to process that like he's cornering you and that it's like a haunted house or I was just like, go fuck yourself.
Like I just got so aggressive because he was right there.
And then I, and then he kind of was like, whoa.
And I'm like, stay in character, man.
I'm like, wait.
And then I felt bad because I realized.
I was like, wait, because he backed up and was kind of like, whoa.
And then I looked at him and I'm like, oh.
It's like you knocked a dude off his horse and then helped him back on it.
Yeah, I was like, oh, I'm so sorry, you're really scary.
So awesome.
I felt really bad.
But on our way home and we stopped through the Taco Bell drive-thru, you said something that I'll never forget.
What?
We got to eat of cheese?
You got to tell him.
You got to tell him that.
We'll get to that.
What did I say?
That was not we're out of cheese
I'm so glad you remember that
I would have remembered it but right now I didn't have it
in my notes and I'm so glad you brought that up
Okay so we went through the Taco Bell dried through
And we were talking about movies
Like what to watch on Netflix or good movies
Yeah
And you we said something about a rom-com and you're like
Oh we don't like rom-coms and I'm like what
And you're like they're not realistic and I was like
Oh my God, thank you for seeing that
They're not really I mean
I know but I love I love that you say
that because I never that's such a simple thing that you said that honestly stuck with me because
I think a lot of times I expect things to be like a rom-com yeah well everybody does I guess
which is sad because I think I like look at Instagram I mean we could go on on about that everybody's
everybody's everything's fake on Instagram no it's so true edited the highlight real
10th take photo yeah that makes you look like your life's better than everybody else's everything
and that's what and that's what rom-coms are exactly and rom-coms don't
show two years down the road and they don't show real problems and and sometimes except that movie
the breakup with Vince oh that was deep and that was just dark but it was real it was it was real you're right
it got really dark and I was like damn and then it like hit me and it was all like too real yeah yeah right
but that's what I mean it was very real and I think sometimes I like hold Sean to the standard of like
well on the bachelorette you know you were super romantic and you told me this and you told me that
And I'm like, you know what?
One, that is the honeymoon phase and it's not real life and it is rom-com phase and that doesn't last.
It can still happen every now and again, but it's not like, that's not forever.
And two, I'm like, I wouldn't want that.
No.
I wouldn't want, I try and like hold him to this ridiculous standard.
And I'm like, if he was like that, I would be like, okay, man, back off.
Like, get your own.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But that's so true.
You got to grow together.
I think you know, you have to stretch to grow, I think.
So if you're not being stressed, you're not going to grow.
And that's something that...
This is why you're a songwriter.
Well, this is why I'm hopefully getting better at marriage by the day, trying to.
If you're growing, you're getting better.
That's the truth.
I think that, yeah, I don't have any kind of breakdown for you.
I just think that's true, that you've got to stretch to grow and it's not comfortable, you know.
And sometimes it is.
Sometimes you do, you just make memories and that are fun and all that stuff.
And other times it's, you know, it's, it's hard work.
It's going to bed mad, you know.
And I hate that.
Christy knows how much I hate that.
And she hates it too.
But we do.
We go to bed mad sometimes and that's just being real.
No, that is like when you keep hitting me where it counts.
That is something that I always say is that I think it's actually important to go
to bed mat because a lot of times I'll wake up and be like that's not a big deal yeah and I'll let
it go in the morning yeah sure absolutely sometimes that that little lapse of time can help
a good snooze can give you some perspective yeah it's usually something stupid anyhow for us
but that's what I'm saying that's it's I will go to bed I will go to bed so heated sometimes
that my heart's like pounding out on my chest in the morning I'm like that's stupid yeah
and so then I'm like I'm really glad I went to bed mad we got we literally got in a fight last
night about dishes yes i swear no true story went to bed mad and it all started from dishes yeah and
um and then we both both woke up this morning and it was just kind of like well that that doesn't need
to happen again you know sorry dude i i've gotten to a point to where sometimes i'll kind of laugh
now yeah for sure you know because i'm like uh like today i almost lost my noodle when i saw
the way he made the bed like i was like is this guy serious
Wait, so you're the master bedmaker.
I'm not even.
But he's not even freaking close.
I was like he's got it.
And to the point where I actually shifted my brain to think that it was cute that he at least tried.
Hey, there you go.
So that's gross.
That's proactive right there.
I need to take a note there because Christy and I, we actually laugh doing it now too.
We truly do.
It started out where I was just pissing her off because I'm so OCD.
Yeah.
I truly have things have to be done.
way I do them and used to doing it.
It's ridiculous, but true.
You all get it, yeah.
But now when we're making the bed, it's just, we laugh.
It's just like, all right, this is never, this skill is never going to be acquired.
Well, I just, I actually found it.
I switched to being so full of rage to actually thinking it was kind of adorable because.
Oh, for the bed making.
Isn't that ridiculous?
Yes.
I feel you, though.
I totally know what you're talking.
Because I'm a little OCD myself.
Sounds like you're more than a little, but maybe not.
I am.
And by a little, I mean, over the top, but OCD.
And it's so bizarre to me because I lived by myself for like 10 years.
I was a slob, like an absolute slob.
Okay.
But now I like appreciate what I have.
And back then I was just kind of a degenerate where now I'm like, you know, like,
I'm so lucky to have this stuff and to have our room look this way.
Your house is beautiful, by the way.
And we had someone, you should see our two new rooms, the podcast room.
should have had you over there. Which one is it? Where is it? You know, when you walk in the front
door and you go to the left, there's like a guest room right there and another room right
here? Yes. We finished the guest room and this room's the podcast room. Awesome. And our room is
done. We don't sleep on a mattress on the floor anymore. Nice. You guys have a great house.
It's huge too. It's huge. And we've taken our time to like decorate it, but we've made it
our little sanctuary. There you go. So that's why when he made the bed this morning.
You know what? Your sanctuary was.
You know what? Listen to this compromise. Listen to this compromise.
The Zen what quickly left the building.
Yes.
But listen to this compromise.
So we were making, actually this morning I woke up and I looked in the fridge and I was like,
there's no fucking eggs in the fridge.
Did he really eat the last egg and not replaced?
And then I go to make my coffee and he had drank the last of the almond milk.
Yep, that's us.
And so I'm like, babe, he's upstairs.
What?
I'm like, did you not consider me?
There are any eggs left?
Knowing there's not.
And he was like, oh, no.
And then I turned the coffee machine.
on knowing there's no almond milk and I go hey Ben so he can hear
I went hey Ben uh did you drink the last the almond milk and he goes
how about the almond milk and he goes and he goes am I in trouble and I'm like well couldn't
you have thought of me last night when you like to and and I was annoyed but then I left and I
went to the gym and I came back and I gave him a kiss and he goes oh okay we're good now we're
And he had went out and bought almond, milk, and eggs.
And so this is, look at the, look at the, look how far we've come.
So then he opens the eggs and he goes, do you want eggs?
I'm like, I would love some.
And then I looked at him and I said, he's in boot camp.
Yeah, I said, do you want to make the eggs or would you like to make the bed?
See that?
And he goes, I'll attempt making the bed.
So the fact that he said attempt makes me realize that he knew he couldn't, you know.
Oh, man.
I feel you, Sean.
I feel you, bro.
And so I was like, yeah, okay.
And so I made breakfast, and he made the bed.
And so when I went into the bedroom and the bed looked like, I was like, I cannot.
Take a picture next time, with you?
I should have, because it still looked nice.
He got the pillows in the right spot.
Nice, nice.
For an OCD person, I honestly took a step back and I was like, let the rage go.
It's a bed.
He tried.
I suggest smoking a little weed.
I know.
You know, let's change my life.
I'm not a pothead, but I honestly, I do enjoy smoking these days.
And it also makes me chill out a little bit.
Well, there's a reason they're legalizing it everywhere, right?
You know, like I think in my mind, smoking is less, like drinking is more dangerous in my mind than smoking a little weed.
For sure.
And that's why, like back in the day, I remember telling my mom I smoked weed because in Vancouver, they have the best weed.
And so I told her, and she was, like, devastated.
And I'm like, Mom, you should be more concerned at how much I consume, like, of alcohol.
Like, you should be way more concerned with that than me smoking a little weed.
Because if I smoke a little weed, I want to stay home.
I want to read a book.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I want to have some snacks and read a book and get a good sleep.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know?
What's cool about it is all the different strains or strands can put you in different zones.
Yeah.
There's creative stuff.
There's chill stuff.
you know because you have a song writing like little room in your house don't you yep i saw it and i was
like yeah i played y'all some songs up there yeah yeah yeah well i honestly could just hang out at
your guys's house all day every day we got it christie's been like killing it in the whole
decorating realm yeah and it feels pretty speaking of zen it feels pretty zen it feels pretty
zen right now it's awesome you should come over we'll do the quiplash thing oh does everybody know
have you talked about quip lash okay wait what was the thing we were going to say um about oh cheese
Oh, cheese.
Oh, yeah, cheese.
Well, we were playing at our house.
We had you guys over for game night, and we go to your house sometimes, and we do the same thing.
But you were over to our house this night, and we were playing that Amazon Fire Stick game that you control through the phones, and it pops up on the TV.
Quiplash.
And you guys are the ones that showed us that game.
Now we're obsessed.
We tell all our friends, and we play it whenever we can.
But we had just had a great night doing that, and you all had it out.
you hit up that Wendy's over there on Thompson Lane by Powell and Thompson, where the Walmart
is in Berry Hill.
Yeah.
And you had warned us.
We warned you.
Exactly.
Exactly.
That is the worst service.
Yep.
In Nashville.
And the Taco Bell down the street is the only one that's worse, to be honest.
Oh.
They're great.
Dang.
They're actually kind, though.
They're kind and sensitive.
They're like, they want to make sure that the customer's happy.
They're just slow.
Yeah.
Bottom line.
You're not going to, it's going to, you're going to commit to 20 minutes to because
get through the line.
And that's not why you go to talk about.
No, that's not.
But Wendy's, they're slow and they could give a f***.
You know what I mean?
And that's like, damn, that's the double combination.
To prove my point.
All you guys wanted was a bold chili.
To prove my point.
Christy drove through, rolled her window down in a Jeep and just waits for a second.
Nobody says hello or nothing.
She didn't know it.
Because, you know, you wait and they say, welcome to Wendy's going to do your order.
She's just sitting there for minutes, minutes sitting there.
And then finally, on the other end, here's what happens.
We're out of cheese
We're out of cheese
We're out of cheese
And Christy goes
Christy goes
She waits a second
She goes
Excuse me
The lady goes
We're out of cheese
And she finally knew what she's saying
And she said
Are you out of chili?
No
Are you out of shredded cheese?
No
Okay I'll do a chili and some shredded cheese
So what you're getting at is you're not out of cheese.
And then it's just pull around, you know what I mean?
So anyhow, we warned you guys.
What happened at customer service?
We warned you about this whole situation.
We told you about the cheese story.
And then what happened.
And then we went through the same drive-thru,
and we realized it was the same drive-thru after leaving your house.
And we're like, oh, this is the Wendy's.
So we just pulled up.
And the lady, like, and we, I was obviously record.
I was going to say videotaping because I'm like, apparently really old.
And I was recording it.
And the lady comes on and Chong goes,
you guys out of cheese
and what she said she said no
and y'all just drove on
okay thanks
so he was like okay cool
and then we just left
got them
yes Sean
thank you for having our back
we're like all we needed
was that video content
paybacks a bitch
Wendy's
paybacks a bitch
and they're lucky we didn't put it out
into the universe
and I love Wendy's you know what I mean
I love Wendy's
I love those nuggets
who doesn't
oh you think Wendy's has the best nuggets
that's what I think
McDonald's got the cheeseburger market
I think Wendy's got the nuggets.
Interesting.
You can't compete with Taco Bell.
No.
Jack in the box tries and other people try, but you can't.
I've never had Jack in the Box.
That can be my confession.
I've had it once or twice, and that probably says enough.
Oh, there you go.
Arby's.
Now we're talking.
They have the meats.
Hardee's, I don't know.
Hardys is too much for me.
Hardies is like a burger that weighs two pounds.
Oh, I don't even know what Hardies is.
What about Chick-fil-A?
I love Chick-fil-A.
I think that's the best.
Wait, where did you grow up?
I grew up in Virginia.
Oh, grew up in Virginia.
Did they have Chick-fil-A there?
Well, they probably do now.
When I was growing up there, they didn't.
I moved to Nashville 13 years ago.
Oh, okay.
But I moved to Florida for a couple before that.
So I've been out of Virginia for 15 years.
Oh, wow, okay.
Yeah.
But I think they have Chick-fil-A's now.
Oh, well, they don't in Canada, that's what I'm getting at.
Oh.
Well, you guys have other stuff up there that we don't have.
Like?
Well, Tim Hortons is something.
Oh, yeah, yeah, Tim Hortons.
But we actually have some of those now.
Yeah, you do.
New York has Tim Hortons.
Yeah.
I can't remember what I was.
You know, the coldest I've ever been in my life was in Canada.
Where?
Winnipeg.
Hmm.
I knew you're going to ask me.
All I know is we walked from, at the time, I was doing a leg of a tour with Kip more.
And we were walking from the sprinter van to a Tim Hortons, actually.
Yeah, yeah.
There was only probably 50 yards away.
Yeah.
And it was so cold that my camera man, I mean, my sound man.
um almost fainted and we still give him out of his day no really i swear to god we got we i don't know
we pulled up we got it i mean we walked into tim horan's and we're all ordering and stuff and then
we look around and pat sitting in the corner looking like passed out and like holding his fingers
and stuff like what are you doing it and he's like nearly passed out i feel like you pass out from
like the heat yeah i don't know what's going on there the cold but it's happened more than once so
something's going on it's pat it's pat it's
It's just Pat.
It's not Canada.
It's Pat.
It's definitely Pat.
Oh my gosh.
I just lost my train of thought.
We're talking about Canada, but what were we saying?
You're from Vancouver, correct?
No.
Well, I mean, I lived there for 12 years.
Okay, so one of my favorite trips and favorite places in the world is Vancouver.
What were you there touring?
I've been twice for, I played a show, twice for shows.
And I went once on vacation with my dad and once on vacation with Christy and some friends to Whistler.
Oh, I'm going there tomorrow.
You're going to Whistler tomorrow?
Yeah.
What?
Yeah, 5 a.m.
Oh, my God.
I know.
So, have you been before?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Numerous times.
Yeah.
So are you going to ski?
No, well, I wish, but I think it's the snow's melted there.
Oh, sure.
On my.
I'm like, it's my.
It's almost June.
You dumbies.
Just because it's Canada doesn't mean there's snow, you American.
Honey?
Hey, babe.
Hey, babe.
I wish I was going to snowboard, but.
No, one of my girlfriends just had a baby, and they have a place up there.
She actually had the baby last night, but I've been planning to go there to see the baby.
And her first baby was two weeks early, so we assumed me going tomorrow would be plenty of time.
But she just had her last night.
I know.
But that's okay, because I'm going to see her for the weekend.
She's got some exciting babies ready to get out.
No, it was late.
Oh, late.
Yeah, not excited.
It's stubborn.
I don't follow.
I'm not.
We're drunk.
Yeah, I'm drunk.
No, but I love Vancouver.
We did grouse.
The Grouse Mountain ground.
Oh. And that thing's a mile straight up a hill. And my dad and I did that.
You're telling me. It was our first father's son trip we ever did.
Oh, that's so nice.
Actually, yeah, I couldn't think of a better spot to do it really for a father's son thing because
there's a lot to do there. It's outdoors.
Yeah, yeah. Because you.
It's nightlife and everything too.
Okay, stop. I know you guys are eating your kale, checking out the ingredients on your almond
milk and doing all that extra work to make sure you're being healthy.
So I just learned that apparently most multivitamins aren't even as clean as a bag of
organic potato chips. Seriously. So we care so much about our food, but we don't even know what's in
the pills we take every day that are supposed to help us be healthier, like our vitamins. This woman
named Kat Schneider was taking her vitamins one morning and looked at the bottle, and she realized
it had like no information about what was in the pills. So she did some digging, discovered that
there's some pretty nasty hiding in pretty much every vitamin on the market, animal parts,
plastic byproducts, even stuff they use to make tires.
Kat couldn't find a clean vitamin that she trusted, so she created her own.
It's called ritual.
Ritual contains only the nutrients you don't get enough of from your diet, and they
even show you where all of their ingredients are from on their website.
So forget everything that you thought you knew about vitamins.
Ritual is the brand that's reinventing the experience with nine essential nutrients women
lack the most.
If you're ready to invest in your health, do what I did and go to ritual.com slash vine.
Your future self will thank you for taking ritual.
Consider it your lifelong health 401K.
Why put anything but clean ingredients backed by real science in your body?
Go to ritual.com slash vine.
As soon as I was like finding out all this information, I was like, yep, hook me up, send me all the bottles.

Now back to Off the Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
I do my research.
I was finding this funny, like, interviewing friends because I'm like, I get to find out a lot.
about like friends when I interview them where it would be weird if I like just like bombarded you
with questions at dinner but it's cool if I do it here yeah so like so my next question no but
that's nice that you got to do a father son trip and that you went to Vancouver yeah because I saw
that you like to be outdoors I do I love to be outdoors and your dad's the same way my dad's the same
way yeah I think um I think the whole family likes to be outdoors the grass grinds no joke no
honestly and I was so out of shape at that point in my life and I'm still I'm just now getting back actually I need to get up with Sean
I'm working out on a regular right now and so I'm feeling pretty good about it but back then I was not and this thing called the grass mountain grind yeah it's a grind is a grind it's straight up it's not even a path no people think it's like it's like it's like going to be a nice hike and then they're like it's not stairs and stuff yeah it's like you're stepping you're climbing on routes and and uh it's like they mark the um like first quarter halfway third quarter end yeah we got to
first quarter and you're like, is this a joke?
I thought, I might hop the gondola and meet you up there.
I know.
You're like, is this a sick joke?
But it was awesome.
Yeah.
And that's so beautiful.
Vancouver's like a...
So pretty.
I mean, yeah, it's a special place.
It's really cool.
Did you not try the weed while you're out there?
That's before I smoked me.
Oh, man, you're missing out.
I totally did because my dad smokes now too.
Oh, there you go.
We could have had a blast, but next time.
Well, that just calls for another father-son adventure.
Yes, we're overdue.
It'll be much different this time.
You will not be doing it.
the grouse grind if you take my advice.
And weed is legal in all of Canada
as of July 1st. Whoa, zers.
This coming July? Yeah. Come on.
Game changer. Whoa. I know.
Recreational. Yeah.
The whole Canada-wide.
Yeah. Justin Trudeau.
Wow. Another reason to move
to Canada. There you go. Just another
reason to go. I'm just kidding. But I do love Canada.
No. Canada loves here.
Proud American era, but love Canada. I have another story actually if it's cool.
What? Yeah, of course.
I was touring with Brantley Gilbert in Canada
And I was playing a song
I have a song called American Muscle
Yeah
And I played over here
You know, crowd loves it and stuff
It's about, you know
It's just testosterone-driven
Song about a few things that America has given the world
You know, rock and roll and muscle cars
And that kind of stuff
And it's a cool energy song
You know, it hypes the crowd
And so I just figured
I didn't even think twice about it
I just figured I'll just play it over there
and that'll be cool, you know, and the first night I remember, because at the end of the song,
back here in the States, at the end of the song, I take an American flag, and I do, I wave
the flag, you know, over the crowd, and everybody loves that.
Yeah, it's a cool moment.
Yeah.
Over there, I tried it without even thinking twice, and it just obviously didn't go over, you know what I mean,
it didn't go over the same way.
And there was a couple booze, you know, I was like, oh, man, I was like, I'm direct support for
Brantley here.
I don't want to, you know, I want to hype the crowd.
I'm all the crowd booing on the last song.
And so the next night, I changed it up.
And I got a Canadian flag, and I put it side by side.
I had somebody.
And you were back in.
Matt Haynes, again, was working for me at the time.
And he went and got this Canadian flag and put it side by side back to back on the same pole as the American flag.
Right?
He is the one that tied it all up and handed it to me for Showtime.
So I get out there, American Musla, end of the song, waving it around.
and I hear booze again
I'm like what the heck y'all
and later on after the show
I find out through Twitter
it's like you know
it wasn't that bad but it was basically like
you know
on the fucks the Canadian flag upside down
that's disrespectful
oh no
God are you kidding me
oh no
Matt what are you trying to kill my career
or what bro so I had an upside down
Canadian flag singing American muscle
you know what I mean
and then finally
I didn't go
well finally we found a good rhythm we've got the flag hangar right and it was like
exactly you stretch you grow so but i love Canada it's always been one of my favorite places to
play actually because people are so passionate about music up there they really are they show up
ready and they show up in large numbers it's and they love country music they love country music
and that's what i love that i think you have that duality of being being able to like write a really
romantic love song but also like tear it up with the crowd
it and you know like that's what i love that's my favorite part of all of it is just yeah i grew up
playing rock and roll and so i love i love a show that's high energy yeah that's what it's
it's sean would uh relate to you with he likes canada like loves it obviously but he's like
so proud to be american awesome speaking of sean that was my segue nice to get to the confession
booth
Where we confess our sins
And then we wash it away with our wine
That sounds amazing
Do you have a confession?
Were you prepared for this?
I wasn't.
What?
A confession?
Am I supposed to have a confession?
Wait, I forget we're friends
And we've just talked about podcasting
And your people have a confession right now?
Yes.
Oh my God, really?
Are you playing me?
I swear I'm not.
I swear I'm not.
You never told me about it.
text to me, said podcast, I said, sweet.
This is so funny.
I forget because usually...
Unless I dropped the ball, I swear, I did not know about this.
I'm sorry.
No, I dropped the ball because now that I think about this, I'm like, no, usually the people
that book, the people that come on my podcast, tell them ahead of time, think of a confession
that you want to share on my podcast.
But I realized that I talked to you because we're friends and I was like, oh, I didn't tell
you about having a confession.
I have a confession.
You do?
Yeah.
Okay.
This is not good.
Oh, that's even better.
I'm embarrassed about this one.
That's the perfect kind of confession.
But...
I'm ready.
I like to think of it as me being ahead of my time.
Okay.
Okay, you like my spin on it.
I put myself in a positive life.
Spin zone. Yeah.
You go to spin zone in the right way.
Oh, God, I don't know.
I don't know.
It's not that bad.
It actually is really bad, but it's not...
I don't know.
Okay, you just...
I don't want people to see me in the wrong way.
You just told us to you...
like did a upside-down Canadian flag while singing an American song in Canada.
Accidentally, accidentally.
I wasn't out there on purpose.
But, all right, here's what happened.
Okay.
This is in college.
You can tell me, oh, well, then enough said.
It's not even, you're going to hear it and you're going to be like, it's not that bad.
Yeah, I know.
But to me, as like a man's man, dude thing, this is not one of my proudest moments.
But before, okay, back in the day when I was in college, fashion trends were different than they are now.
Of course.
Okay.
The fashion trend went from comfortable, loose fit to everything's fitted.
Everything's fitted and real tight now.
Yeah.
Which is cool, you know.
Back then, I was trying to do something different because I was like, I don't know, you know.
Like, I'm an artist.
I don't know.
I don't know if I was, I guess I was just looking for some kind of fit with some jeans that I could not find.
Yeah.
except for girls jeans oh right okay i and this is i found out that there was a
girl's cut yeah that was what i was looking for yeah that they didn't make in the guys
cut which incidentally is now the guys cut yeah it's basically it was skinny jeans yeah they
didn't have that for guys in college when i was in college so now they've got skinny jeans and it's a
normal thing but back then I was looking for it no not knowing it I was probably just being a
weirdo but I but I was looking for a tighter fit gene at the time didn't have it so I turned
to the to the chick eye one time it only happened once and I got rid of them because I was ridiculed
I was honest with my buddies you know I got ridiculed for it and I threw them out but but nowadays it's
basically going to you're like you're shopping in the girls section I really wish I kept those jeans
literally like you're shopping in the girls sessions these days with guys jeans have you seen Sean's pants
Yeah, he looks great.
You know, all the guys, it's like the thing to do now.
It's no big deal.
But back then it was a crazy fight.
But Sean likes leggings.
Leggings.
Like spandex.
Yeah, like there are times where I'm like, we could share a closet.
He actually bought a Canadian hoodie the other day in the airport because he was cold.
Yeah.
And I was like, I mean, I know you like tight clothes, but like that's.
And then he was like.
Let them breathe a little.
And then he gave me the Canadian hoodie.
And it fit me perfect.
And that just shows you how...
Oh, he likes tight shirts, too.
Tight everything.
Okay.
And I used to make fun of him.
Got to show the muscles off.
Yeah, well, exactly.
And I used to be like, you just love when people see your muscles, but I realize it's actually
an OCD thing for him.
Oh, it is?
Yeah.
So he always says that, because he'll do this thing.
It's actually, now I find adorable, he'll pull his left shoulder up and his right bottom
of his shirt down, and it's an OCD thing.
But I dug a little deeper, and I talked to his dad.
Hey, babe.
Hey, babe.
Hey, babe's dad.
Hey, babe, dad.
Why does he do that?
And he said that one of his favorite basketball players did that.
Oh, no way.
And Shamm won't admit it.
But I love it because I think it's so cute.
Your next son.
Admit it.
Just admit it.
It's so cute.
His favorite basketball player from one of his little pulled a shoulder and pulled down, his jersey.
And so now if you look at Sean's shirts, he gets little tiny rips at the bottom right end of the shirt.
And the tops are like crinkled because he pulls them up so often.
That's cool.
You know that about him.
That's cool.
That's the little stuff.
And honestly, like it annoyed me at first that I thought he just liked his clothes tight.
And now I'm like, oh, it's like a comfort thing.
And that's really sweet.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, you guys are so cute.
Ah, yeah.
We're all cute.
Yeah, you're a great couple.
We love you guys.
We love you guys.
And congrats on this podcast and all you're all you're all.
you guys are awesome you know what good things happen to good people like you guys too i believe that i believe
that we we i always use this term pump your tires we pump your guys tires all the time okay you guys
remember that netflix original film i was telling you about called abiza only available on
netflix well it is now available to watch right now this is the girls trip of the summer
when harper's two best friends tag along on her work trip to barcelona they find themselves
on a crazy wild adventure through the edm scene to find a hot dj in abiza
super funny female driven comedy with amazing scenery a look into some of the insane
abiza clubs and features a fun soundtrack featuring some of the top edm artists
hilarious performance from gillian jacobs vanessa bayer my favorite and phoebe robinson
it also stars richard madden as the hot dj and live interest to harper the film touches upon
themes all women can relate to like how to balance a growing career with personal life
travel falling in love and relationships with best friends the women take a trip that despite some major
mishaps is the trip of a lifetime people admit i'm just totally reverting back this is not even
close to the subject whatever but back to the tight-closed thing yeah now it's weird because i feel like
the trend has gone back to loose again do you think so well i don't know what for men or women or
both i've always liked to loose clothing are i seeing some baggy your jeans on girls i love baggy jeans
yeah see what i'm saying so then you got that
And then the dudes are, you know, we're all wearing our shirts baggyer these days.
Yeah.
Which somebody asked me recently, why have you lost, you've lost so much weight.
I haven't lost any weight.
Maybe a couple guys.
You're like, I'm just wearing bag your clothes.
Yeah, exactly.
Maybe that's why people think that about me.
Everyone tells me to eat a cheeseburger, but really I'm just wearing a cozy sweatshirt.
Yeah.
It's comfy, yo.
Exactly.
Anyhow, random.
But your confession's not that bad.
Random thoughts.
You don't think so?
No.
Girls jeans?
It's pretty bad.
I mean, it's funny, but it was like, eh, college.
Yeah.
I mean, usually people are telling me.
like they poop their pants so like that oh i've done that for sure as an adult that's not even
ashamed of that you can't help that when it's literally you cannot help that shit that's what i'm saying
is that's the majority of confessions that people have on my podcast are about pooping their pants
and every single time i'm like farting on a plane is that what mattie and tages yeah that wasn't their
confession but we but we had talked about farting on planes and how terrible it is don't act like
you haven't done it oh midsleep
Fully awake.
Don't act like you haven't done it on purpose.
I will 100% wake myself up sometimes and I'll look at Sean and I'll grab his arm and go, I thought it.
It was me.
Because he gets so mad when people fart on planes that sometimes if I do it like mid-sleep on a plane, I'm like, I go to help it.
Somehow I do too.
I get like so mad that anyone who would have the gall to do that.
And then I'm like, I can't do anything about this anymore.
There's nothing you can do about it.
I'll never forget.
I was on a plane, a very small plane when I was on, not The Bachelorette, when I was one of 25 women on The Bachelor, and we were traveling around.
We were on such a small plane going to Iowa.
Oh, no.
And there was all of us girls like having drinks, having fun.
Somebody's letting go.
And then one man in front of us.
That was it.
And you could watch the wave.
How do you know it was the man, though?
Because you could watch the wave of people going.
It started from him.
The face wave.
And you could tell it jolted him.
and he'll get him up
and then you could see the
wave of hitting like row
like six, seven, eight, nine
all the girls just were like
and so you knew it was that guy
there was nobody else it could have been
plus we all would have admitted it
and he was just like sitting there like
you know like there's nothing he could do
he knew it was him.
I heard a story about somebody recently
like some plane had to land
because of a fart
yeah something was so well
no it was somebody took a dump
and they had like a disease
or something.
What?
Literally, the plane smelled so grotesque because of this disease or whatever, that it was actually
a health hazard.
And they had to land the plane.
Like in the air, a health hazard.
Did the guy or girl not know?
I don't know who, I don't know anything about the story except that.
They landed the plane because some dude dropped some nasty.
Can you imagine?
Thank God that wasn't my plane.
Thank God it wasn't you.
Thank God wasn't me.
I would never be able to live that down.
That actually makes me a little bit.
I literally had to land
That's so gross
Because of a nasty poop
Crazy
Now that's a confession
That's a big one
I should have that person
On my podcast
Just for the confession
Track them down
Track them down
I'm putting it out there
If anyone knows the guy
Who knows the guy
Who knows the girl
Who whatever
Had to land a plane
Because of their poop
Oh my God
Call me
Talk to these people
Call me
Yes
Hey babe
Hey babe
How bab?
Aw
How about?
Are about the guy?
Leave any milk for me?
So how about that almond milk?
Oh, no.
Okay.
Okay.
We do that whole thing, too.
It's a learning period.
You know, it's like being married and living with someone and getting used to their world.
It's an adjustment period.
It really is.
And I will say for us.
Have some mercy.
Have some mercy.
But for us, it was a little different because we came from much bigger problems.
that to living together
became small problems
but now that'll get on anybody's nerves
so that now I can be like
thank God we only fight about the dishes
you know like because we came from
deep emotions of like
dealing with some
I mean anyone would
you know if it was the other way around
and he had dated all these women
I'd still be talking about it to this day
right right I just unplugged my headphones
oh that happens all the time
Back, hey, babe, babe.
You want to plug that back again, back?
Babe, one, two.
Oh, I'm trying to look.
Okay, I also had written down that you started a band in sixth grade.
Please tell me the name of your band.
Anchor.
We were, we were known as Enco.
Yeah.
Deep.
So deep.
And what was the reasoning behind it?
Check it out.
It was a, we were, we went to a Christian school.
Yeah.
I'll take another glass.
Of course you will.
We were in a Christian school.
I grew up going to a Christian school.
I grew up going to a Christian school.
I'll have some wine, please.
Thank you so much
So K through eighth grade
I was in a private real small Christian school in Virginia
And me and my buddies were
It was just I think we were 12 years old 11 or 12
And it was just that time in my life
Where I needed some distraction
You know I was going through a family crisis
At that moment and I picked up a guitar basically
And that was my distraction
actually my getaway.
And so me and my dad was a musician, right?
He was a musician.
My dad was a singer in a band.
Yeah.
It's in my love.
So I ended up going to my dad's rehearsals and checking out the scene that way.
And I really fell in love with music.
Yeah, babe.
Babe, not now.
Not now.
So I went to my dad's rehearsals and I fell in love with music and I decided after this tragedy.
I lost my brother in a car accident is what happened.
And then so I didn't know that until today, by the way.
Oh, really?
Yes, I did not know that.
So sorry.
Well, thank you.
And we made it through just like everybody does.
And it was just a tough time.
And so music actually helped me get through that.
And I play rock and roll with my buddies in the garage, just like, you know, the old school way.
Yeah.
But we were serious about it at an early age for some reason.
Because you did it for a long time with the same group, right?
Yeah, we stayed together up until college.
That's amazing.
Yeah, all through high school and stuff.
That must have been so nice for you to have that.
We wrote songs together, and we were young kids trying to do it.
And we went on the road.
Our parents were driving us around to play these shows.
How great are your parents, too, for that?
They're awesome.
I've never had a shortage of support, you know.
And that's been a really something I've been so grateful for all along.
Still am.
But, yeah, so I played way back then and fell in love with the whole process of being on the road.
I think that's why I love it so much today.
You know, stepping on a tour.
Because you're like this is a childhood dream.
Yeah, it was a childhood.
dream and so every time i step on that bus i still feel like i'm living the dream and you probably have
so much gratitude towards it too just from like where it all stemmed from and where it came from that like
now you can do that and that that's where it came from that's so sweet and i've actually we had a
excuse me we had a falling out right your band we did anchor senior year of high school oh no oh no
it was just you know typical band stuff that happens creative differences i guess or whatever and
and but i got to experience that in a way that that that drove you
me to Nashville.
You know, I was, I may have not moved to Nashville and pursued country music had I not
gone through that band breakup back in the day.
And so.
And then you would not have been opening for.
And then I wouldn't have opened for love and theft.
And I wouldn't have met my wife.
And I wouldn't be hanging out on this podcast.
And we wouldn't be here right now.
Hey, babe.
Hey, babe.
Jot this one down in the memory book.
Yeah.
Oh my gosh.
This is so weird.
There's been times through this whole podcast, and actually before this, but today
especially, you remind me so much of one of my best buddies from back home.
Who is it?
His name's Ryan Keller.
What's up, Ryan?
And he's probably cooler than me.
That's something he would do.
Really?
What up Ryan?
Uh-uh.
His name's Ryan Keller.
Is he a dork?
I'm like, your answer was yes.
Don't act like your answer wasn't.
Does he listen to these podcasts?
He actually is a musician as well.
Okay.
And he's really talented and he's really.
funny and Sean loves them and you guys kind of have similar like mannerisms and like I don't know
what it is your like vibe kind of reminds me of each other but certain things like how we keep bringing
up the hey babe I'm like that is so something he would do sorry I just had to meet right yeah you would
really like him he's awesome I like good people he's great people awesome my other question to you was
what what got you into country music did you always like country because I feel like I picture you as
this more rock and roll guy now that I hear you say about your band anchor I didn't always like country
but I didn't always know country either okay you know because my town my town that I grew up in my
circle of friends I was with nobody listened to country really my life and that's yeah that just
wasn't country music was was for older people see and that's I grew up only listening to country
music all my friends listen to country and that's like what we loved but I'm 35 I'm 33 oh okay
well all right so same time period but I think it's just where I grew up like everybody just like we had parties in the bushes and listen to country music and everybody drove trucks and it was like a really small town country so that was a different different vibe I mean we went mudden and stuff like that but it was in a Jeep it wasn't a jacked up truck yeah and it was um we were listening I was an hour from the beach and so there was a you know it was sort of more of like a sublime influence yes chili peppers and all that stuff and then Garth Brooks yeah you know what I'm saying and there would you know so there was one
one song that would pop up on everybody's
mixtapes, everybody's burnt CDs
that they had, you know, now they're called Playlists,
but back then we all had a burnt CD of our favorite songs
from Napster or Linewire.
Yeah.
And I would always, I remember it was random
because I had a bunch of my rock and roll stuff
and everything that was happening in that scene.
And then I would have like a Garth Brooks
or a George Strait song on there that made its way.
And then eventually, after me and the band broke up in high school,
when I moved to college,
I realized I could connect
to the stories in country music really well.
And I started realizing that I could actually
maybe do what I want to do musically
but also tell a story like country music does.
That's something that felt very natural for me
to kind of play the rock and roll thing musically
but want to say something that people can connect to.
And I found that, you know,
and I acts like Dirk's Bentley, his first record
I was a huge fan of
and still am and we got to tour together
which was a full circle, you know,
career moment for me.
Yeah, no kidding.
And that was awesome.
And I just remember there being a longing
in my creative self to tell stories
and to also enjoy playing rock and roll
at the same time.
And that's sort of kind of what I'm,
what I've set out to do with my stuff now
It's just musically be inspired and then just talk about what's real.
Because you're a good storyteller, which translates into your music.
And I think that's really cool about country music.
And I think that may be why I have always been drawn to country music is because I do feel like there's something about it that's more storytelling than other.
And it's not like sitting around once upon a time.
My truck got stolen.
No, I'm just talking about, you know, like the words, you're going to hear the words hopefully and be like, oh, yeah, yeah, cool.
That's me too.
Relatable.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
I would hope that people would think that about my music.
And I'm not always, I don't always get it right.
I know that's for sure.
But I'm definitely aiming.
That would be weird if you did.
Yeah, exactly.
But I'm definitely aiming to be myself and connect to people.
I think that the music is so powerful and its ability to do that.
It really is.
Yeah, it's crazy.
And I do think, well, everybody relates differently.
I guess just for me, country music has always been that for me.
So that's why I relate to it so much more.
I'm like, yeah, but country music for me.
Like, but other people, you know, they can listen to a rock song or they can listen to a rap song and relate more.
But for me, it's country.
But I just, I just love it.
I love your, well, obviously, I love you like that because it's my song.
But I love all the metaphors.
Yeah.
I love a good metaphor.
Yeah, classic.
Yeah, it's really good.
And I'm quite smart.
Strong as a sip of whiskey.
What is it?
It used to be sip of whiskey.
That's actually how we wrote it.
Oh.
And then we changed it to fifth of whiskey.
Which is cooler, too.
I like that.
Yeah, sip of whiskey sounds like girls' jeans.
When I said it, I was like, wait, that wasn't right.
I was like, wait, that wasn't right.
Hi, Ben.
Hey, babe, could you pull up the lyrics?
Go, go, I'll love you like that lyrics.
Text them to me.
Got it on silent now.
Do you not disturb.

so Sean crush in his workouts
do you work out with him?
Yes and no
I love how you just turned this interview around
No I don't know I'm no that's good I like it
I like it to no I actually
actually like that. At the end of some interviews, I actually ask people if they want to ask me
anything because I like it. Yeah. When we was talking, we're friends. He's so passionate. I've never
met a guy more passionate about fitness. Like, it's not, it's not, it's not that he just,
you know, like, falls into that role because of the world he came from. Like, he is so passionate
about health and well-being. So, no, I don't work out with him.
It's like, no, I can't keep up. I can't keep up. But I also don't.
like my significant other telling me what to do.
Hey, babe.
Please stop.
Drop and give me 20.
Yeah, I'm like, no, no, I won't drop and give you a ton.
Until you stop eating my damn eggs.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Make the bed properly.
Make the bed right now.
And we'll talk about some jumping jack.
No, I do once in a while because he is really good and I can't deny that.
But yeah, he's just killing it.
He's got an app coming out.
His meal plans kill it.
He's just, you know, good things happen to good people.
You're dang right, they do.
You're dang right.
And are you, so you're going tomorrow to Vancouver?
I am.
Dang, on a 5 a.m.?
Is that what you said?
Well, I have to be there at 5am.
It's at 555, a little bit of an early flight.
And it's not a quick trek over there.
It's three flights.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's a long haul.
But, you know, my best friends are like the best people you've ever met.
Isn't that so important to have people like that, that you can just,
fully be yourself around that's exactly it and they just honestly like I always make time to go home
and spend time with my family and friends because I've realized even from I mean I'm sure people
realize it's just the older they get but even just being from an industry that I'm in like how
quickly friendships can come and go or people want to like drop your friendship or pick it up or
whatever I just find that like I've really I now cherish the friendships that I have and so I'm so
excited. I'm like, I don't care if I didn't need to take like eight flights to get to see
my new niece. Her name is Rome. How cute is that? Yeah, it's really cute.
Rome and they call her Romy. Oh, no way. That's what I call my buddy. Really? Call him Romy.
His name's Adam Romaine. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I call him Romy. Yeah, that's a cool name.
So we're actually thinking about baby names. We're not pregnant. We're not pregnant. We're not pregnant. No, no, not yet.
Not yet. But you're not trying. We're not trying. We got names, which is a step.
But we are. We got a list. I was going to say. In our five.
I was going to say, do you have notes in your phones?
We got some good ones.
We actually just found out through Christy's sister that there's a family name that we didn't know existed that we freaking love.
Bad ass?
Yeah.
Don't tell us.
I'm not going to tell you.
You don't have to.
I have so many names.
It's awesome.
Do you?
Yes.
You guys talk about it together?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
We have some favorites at the top?
We talk more about babies and baby names than we do about getting married.
Nice.
The only time, I say this all the time, but I'm like, yeah, but I'm Canadian.
I kind of need a green card.
Like, marry me.
Right.
Oh, yes, right.
Yeah.
I'm on a work visa.
Are you really?
Yeah.
Okay.
So it's a little challenging.
But, I mean, it's fine right now.
I'm on a three-year-old visa.
How hard are those to get?
In your situation, not.
In my situation, not hard.
I feel bad for people who actually have to go through, like, difficult times to be together in different countries because holy shit, it can be a huge pain in the ass.
But I'm very, very fortunate because I'm in the world of entertainment.
And so I have an O-1 entertainment visa.
But every single time across the border, the border guy's like, what do you do?
I'm like, what?
It's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he
me yeah i'm like google it bitch
yeah exactly but no
every time he's like why
they don't just he asked for your ID and you say
it's right here yeah
you know who this is you're right
actually every single time I'm like
oh I was on I never want to be like I was
the bachelor I'm like I was on a TV show
what TV show a reality show what one
bachelor my wife
loves that I'm like and then I'm through
and then they connect the dots and I'm like man
when this visa's up I'm not even going to say
I'm just going to drop that they give you their car they say next
time you come through you want to quickly yeah yeah it's always a hookup and that's funny how people
want to be connected to to energy like that celebrity stardom it blows my mind because certain things like
um like even cousins um coming out of the woodwork yeah just like people who maybe i talk to like
but now we're like you know i'm like they're your best friend i'm like i'm the same person
I'm the exact same person
I always have been
my friends will say that about me
maybe even just a little more grounded
and humble now than I was before
I was kind of a cocky shit back in my day
like I'm more humble now
and now I find like
we work together like two shifts
at a restaurant like we're not friends
just because I come into Vancouver for two days
I want to see my friends and family
like what makes you think I'm going to come hang out with you
not that I'm above you
no way it's just you didn't ask me to hang out
before exactly yeah exactly it has nothing to do with we weren't boys before yeah why now yeah it's so
weird oh well it's yeah oh well you know what my favorite saying is that whitney bischoff taught me
hey babe so what oh hey babe hey babe hey babe and so what so what that's a good one and and if something
like really bothers you if it's a big deal like life changing okay fine but if it's not so what
you know what you can spin it too is so what can be so what you know who can
cares but it also be so what like so what are you going to do about so so what so what so what so what? So what? So what? So what? So what? Like,
like, so what? So what? Like, so what? So what? Like, so what? Yeah. It's like, what are you going to do with this
situation? Yes, exactly. Love it. Take it, run with it, run with it. Paint your own picture. I have a few more
questions for you and then we'll wrap it up. Please bring them on. I love this. Who has been your favorite country
artist to work with? Artists in general, but that's probably country. Well,
It's going to be Florida, Georgia, line.
Yeah.
For sure.
Yeah.
We just signed officially.
Actually, I just did the press photo today.
We just signed a deal.
That's why your hair looks so good.
A publishing.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you for noticing.
And these are men's jeans.
They're starting to make them tight.
I wasn't going to bring it up.
No, but they just signed me to their publishing company tree vibes as a staff songwriter.
And I now have a production deal with them as well.
So we're going to be.
Why didn't I bring a bottle of champagne?
Well, this, you brought a bottle of rosé.
Yeah, but it's gone.
Well, I'm sure we can.
I know, I'm like, you got, John's on his phone out there.
I'm like, John, you want to put it about champagne?
Hey, I, hi, I, hey, babe.
You got another bottle of wine going on that for us?
He's laughing, but he's like, are you serious?
Fresh out.
Yeah, fresh out.
Oh, wow.
Wow, fresh out.
Could they hear his voice on the podcast?
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, nice.
I like when he comes in.
Say it again.
Fresh out.
Say fresh out.
Fresh out
He's a geekily this time now
You gotta say in the
I used to work in the restaurant biz
And if something was
If we were like fresh out of it
You called it 86
Oh hey what's going on in the control room
Yeah are we 86 wine?
86 on the wine dog
86 on the wine dog
Hey I want a shirt that says that
86 on the wine dog
Okay
By the way have you got into
Puppies make me happy yet
That brand
Yes
The yoga brand
I have a great, I'm like looking at you like you're crazy and I'm like, wait, I have a sweater that says that.
Yes, puppies make me happy.
It's a yoga clothing brand.
Yeah, my wife loves it.
Yeah.
I met the dude that runs it out there in California.
He's sent us a box of stuff.
Oh, amazing.
Some of my favorite shirts actually.
They're so comfy.
They've got great material.
It's cool stuff.
We do yoga now.
Oh, you do?
I don't know if you knew that about it.
No?
Do you guys do yoga?
Okay, we have talked about this for so long because we, I used to love, I used to do yoga every single day.
I lived in Newfoundland, Canada, and I used to do yoga every day.
day sometimes twice a day wow they were i was going to teach at the studio but um i ended up
moving legit um but yeah love yoga sean's always wanted to get into yoga because he loves
the idea of like healthy mind yeah and i mean he's like he can only be healthy so much in his
body that he needs to take it to his mind like he's all about wanting to get into yoga so tell
us everything sweet where do you go how about spiritual health is he into that too yeah anything
that's health related he's he's open love it totally open we do we do you do
yoga we did a thing on YouTube just at the house yeah christia and i did this uh it's called yoga with
adrian do you do that or something no yeah it's called yoga with adrian and this chick she's really
good and simple oh like you just watch it on youtube i thought you were saying you guys did a yoga
no we weren't like teaching people no no no what do you call what i'm not a yogi a yogi or sense
or whatever you call them i don't know yogi yogi but we did it we did it on youtube and we really
uh kind of started loving it it's super hard
It's hard to do, actually.
Yeah, it is.
Yoga is definitely not an easy thing.
We were doing it this morning, actually.
That's why it's so rewarding.
It is.
It's rewarding.
It'll kick your ass, but it also does, you can start to see results.
But I like the way it makes me feel when I'm done doing it.
You just kind of feel like you got a massage or something because you're all stretched out and relax.
Yeah.
It's like a deep tissue thing, you know what I mean?
But you do the work.
Toxins leave your body and you're still.
No, it's true.
Yeah.
I honestly was like, that's good.
That's good.
Whatever floats your boat, you know.
Thanks.
I appreciate people to let me be myself.
Yeah.
That's why we're friends.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Even your laugh.
I got to introduce you to my friend, Ryan.
Right.
You guys have the same little freaking laugh.
Okay.
Last couple questions.
Okay.
If you could collaborate with anyone dead or alive.
Ooh.
Who would it be?
Oh, man.
You know, I just recently thought how freaking cool it would be to do something with a
band like the chili peppers oh they used to be my favorite bad in the whole world bad ass and they're
classic chili peppers and nirvana were my favorite nirvana same thing obviously i love those guys but
i think chili peppers that whole vibe so unique it's so unique and it's so badass and you just can't
replicate it i don't i mean no you cannot and if anybody tried you'd be like stop being the the
chili peppers exactly yeah that's so true and i just wish so bad that i could uh you know
do something with them because i think that it would be
awesome yeah maybe one day that's a that's a good answer i like that um and i had written down
here okay so i was i was gonna talk because you have a tour coming up right now yeah i'm actually
on tour right in this room i caught you had a great time this is your you're at sound check
right now i'm part you're witnessing the sound check i am the tour you are the tour off the vine is on
the back of a shirt yes it's like your tour dates and one is off the vine 2018 love shack studios
Nashville, Tennessee.
That's right.
Yeah, it's got the date in the other day yet.
Yes.
But, yeah, I'm doing it right now.
Oh, amazing.
I'm playing this weekend in Indianapolis.
We're doing the Indianapolis 500 with Sam Hunt.
Oh, that's cool.
It's going to be awesome.
Sam Hunt.
He just came back with a little jam, didn't he?
Yeah, he did.
Downtown's Day.
There we go.
What was my, oh, I'm going to put, when this comes out, this podcast, if you could send me a link,
and then I'll put up the tour dates.
Oh, thanks.
Yeah, because people need to see you live.
Nice.
need, it's life-changing, they need to see it.
But I had, this is what I had in my notes.
I was like, I'll put up your link to your tour dates
because people need to see you live,
but you're phenomenal live,
but my favorite Canaan might be karaoke canaan.
Ah, yes.
In a robe.
Yes.
All right, so we had, for people that don't know what that reference is,
we had a party at our house.
My wife and I threw a New Year's Eve party,
our first year in our new home,
and we'd only been in a couple months.
and we just decided to go all out
and we invited a bunch of people
and we had a theme of pajama party
yeah pajama party so you guys show up
looking all cute and awesome
we got our onesies on
yeah and I'm wearing this
and you had your long long hair at the time too
this kimono
yeah this silky yeah I had long hair
what was I doing it looked at it was awesome
it was awesome it was very Kurt Cobain of you
it was so Kurt
but I was yeah now we were just kind of having
a freak show of a night
you know everybody's just getting sloshed and having fun but we had set up karaoke in the garage
yeah it was so much fun like lyrics i run into machine we had like the when everybody went
home i was still going you were still out there singing by yourself yeah yeah sean was like my main
audience yeah yeah yes that was so much fun oh here's the best part so why do i keep talking about
matt but remember matt yes he was there that night okay and his big he's like the karaoke god
yeah this dude any other time would
jumped on the mic and sang until you pulled him off.
Yeah.
This particular night, he says, no, I don't want to do it.
You know, Caitlin has zillions of followers.
It's going to end up on social media.
I'm going to look like an idiot.
So the best thing is you started recording when he said, because we started chanting, man, man, man, man, man.
So I was like, ooh, this is good content.
Yeah.
So you start recording live on your feet or whatever.
And then you tagged him, right?
Didn't you tag him at Matt Haynes or whatever.
I don't even know.
Somebody has told me.
like tag him and I was like cool
and then he was like no
so what he ended up
what he didn't want to have happened ended up
happening is that he did look like
because he channeled it you know
he really put it out into the universe and we
got them we got them it was so much
we didn't we sing a karaoke song
we didn't know the words we were doing like karaoke
roulette where you had to just pick a song
and then it came on and it was
well we had the book and everything
yeah it was legit set up tons of songs
and yeah we sang to the Cal
came home we had a blast it was so much fun we need to do that again yeah new year's
different no that's too far away maybe hey my birthday's june 19th oh june i see we can pull something
together hey babe hi babe are you on tour or uh could you show me the calendar i need a book a couple
of things the old sean would have done it ha ha nice yeah sean come on man what's all these
2015 romantic sean yeah that's right let's make it let's make it let's spice it up again man
Turn it up.
Done.
Okay.
Wait, what's your other, what's the song?
This is, I'm so random all over the place.
What's the song?
This night back?
No.
No.
What's the, wait, what's the song?
Hell yeah.
That's this night back.
Oh, I love that one.
Sean and I have that on all the time right now.
Sean texted me, actually.
Oh, he did?
Yeah, when that song came out, he texts.
Oh, yeah, he loves it.
He texted me, said that y'all were downtown and he had played it on the, on the jukebox or whatever.
Yes.
We actually, we played it like,
I mean, yesterday and today.
It's on his playlist, so we listen to it all the time.
But what was the song?
I was in my notes from back at the beginning of this podcast, I had written down.
Oh, hole in a bottle.
Yeah.
That's like a party anthem, right?
That was my second single.
Yes.
Off of Bronco, and it was, yeah, a song I still believe in, and I think it's always...
No, it's starting to climb the charts, is it not?
Well, no, no, no, we're done working that one.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah, just kidding.
It's so good, though.
It did well, you know, it did well.
It wasn't a number one, but it did well on radio well enough.
And, you know, people know it, and I still love playing it.
So it's definitely, whenever you can have a song that makes people want to party.
Absolutely.
That's a good thing.
Hell yeah.
Yeah.
It's my favorite part of the song, sorry.
We let it all go.
It's so good.
Okay, well, I had like three more paragraphs, but we have to wrap it up.
I also have to pee so bad.
Oh, my God.
Get out of here.
Don't fart on a plane.
Thanks for having me
I won't I'll just pee my pants
Hey Payne
Can you bring me some wipes
Gonna pay my pants
That's
The other day I was in traffic
And I'm like
I really had to pee
If I did
That would be really funny
For a podcast confession
So I like considered it
Just have
I didn't do it
I didn't do it
That's a confession
In and of itself
You're right
You're right it is
The fact that I would even think about it
Is kind of embarrassing
A little thirsty
A little thirsty
Thursday.
Anyways.
Thank you so much.
We'll have to do another date night.
Say when.
When are you?
We'll talk about this after when I'm done recording.
