Before we get started, I know that I always say the great stuff is the baloney, but lately I might
have another food item that embodies all things good and awesome because I just tried a new
delicious sandwich from Burger King. It's the new spicy, crispy chicken sandwich from Burger King.
It's a chicken you crave now with the spice you love, and this sandwich seriously has it all.
It is made with juicy 100% white meat, seasoned chicken filet.
It has warm, crunchy coating with a blend of cayenne pepper spices topped with fresh lettuce,
tomato, and creamy mayo, and it comes on a sweet, soft potato bun.
The best part of the sandwich?
It may be the price because right now, the spicy crispy chicken sandwich at Burger King
is part of the $2 for $6 mix or match deal.
I love spicy, live for spice.
I love crispy chicken sandwiches, and I also love saving money.
So today's kind of a big deal for me to try the spicy crispy chicken sandwich from Burger.
Burger King. Pick two of the following for a $6.00 crispy chicken sandwich, spicy crispy
chicken sandwich, or Whopper Sandwich. No substitutions, limited time only at participating
restaurants, pricing higher in Alaska and Hawaii. Single sandwich at regular price on menu.

Here's Caitlin.
Welcome to Off the Vine.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow, wine in hand.
I've got country singer, winner of the voice, dog lover, dancer.
Yeah.
Dancing on your Instagram.
Oh, sweet.
Danielle Bradbury in the studio today.
here for a fun little girl chat and I was going to ask you if you want some wine but I already
poured you something yes it's in my hand so cheers cheers thank you so much for coming on the podcast
oh thank you for having me we've got quite the romantic setting in here today and I love it
isn't it romantic it's very romantic and relaxing it is it's intimate and sometimes I do two different
studios and this is the smaller one and it's always so intimate and it's very bright so yeah we decided
to turn down the lights we lit a candle we've got a like nice little red dim lamp we're drinking
wine and got it all set up there's some lighting is everything whether it's a photo whether it's a
restaurant and like mood it just sets a mood it sets a mood and when somewhere is like fluorescent
it makes me so weird yeah like i don't know you just feel like everything you can see everything
like yeah yeah you're like this is a little aggressive yeah i agree that's so okay i take voice
lessons in Nashville.
Oh, heck, yeah.
It's fun.
I love doing it.
And I always make her shut off the lights and I sing better.
I mean, I do that in the studio.
You do?
I do.
I'm like, light every candle.
Yes.
Turn off the lights.
It's a mood setter.
It is.
Yeah.
Screw those fluorescent lights.
I know.
Nobody needs those ever.
No.
No.
Ever.
Anyways.
So we've actually hung out before.
Yes.
At the softball charity event, what was that called again?
It was like the celebrity softball.
I don't know
Oh my gosh, I feel like I need to Google this
It was like me, you and freaking
Billy Ray Cyrus
Yeah
Charity softball event
Nashville
I feel really terrible for not knowing this because
City of Hope
Oh my God, why didn't I remember that
I don't know why I couldn't either
City of Hope softball
We had cool jerseys
We were team red, we were on the same team
yes yeah else was on our team jesse james decker jessie james eric which is a freaking awesome team
yeah we had a solid roster i know sean sean b was there billy was on our team i think yeah
and we were against blue team boo i act like i'm still there boo it was like property brothers
and then i can't remember yeah i can't remember that was a fun thing i i uh hit the ball and that's really all
I could have ever asked for.
I was like, please, Caitlin, feel I've got, like, Sean makes fun me because I'm not athletic.
And so when I went out there, I'm like, please, Caitlin, if there's anything, like, just, just hit the ball, even if it's a foul ball, even if, like, just make contact.
And I heard it.
I was so, I was like, I don't even care if I get to first, which I didn't.
I think I remember that.
Yeah, you did hit the ball.
Did you hit the ball?
I hit the ball.
And I always get so nervous going up there because I'm like, everybody's watching.
I want to look cool.
I just care about
But that makes me laugh
Because you're a singer
You can like go out and sing
No
It's crazy
And like Shelton and Adam Levine
Is that you say the name?
Yeah
Adam Levine
You can go out there and sing in front of like
And national television
But you put yourself in a
It's so weird
For charity
I get so nervous with so many things
It's out of your comfort zone
Yeah
Yeah
And people are like well
Why do you do this
I'm like
I'm sorry
Do you get that nervous for singing
Sometimes
times yeah yeah it like hits me right before but then it's like once you get out there when i
get out there it's fine yeah it's just the like excitement nerves yes those are normal yeah those are normal
that's i used to get those dancing all growing up like i could not wait to get out there but like
standing in the wing getting ready to go on stage i was like shitting my pants yeah the waiting around
is what gets you like it's the waiting yeah i i can't stand it i'm like okay i just need to go
Because then your brain starts going to everything that could go wrong.
Yes, exactly.
Nobody enjoys that.
And I had to leave early that event to go to the Bumble event.
Yeah, I was there after, so I was really sweaty.
Me too.
I had to DJ, which is hilarious to think about that for a hot minute.
I was the DJ and I'm like, so what equipment do you need?
I'm like, my iPhone and if you got like an HDMI tour.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'd just plug it in.
That would be my DJ.
I made a playlist.
It was pretty good.
Yeah.
But did you like my DJ skills?
I did.
It was really awesome.
That's funny.
I was like embarrassed because people are like, we don't care.
I was like on the mic like, woo, does everybody have a good time?
They're like, and everybody's just like doing their own thing.
Yeah.
I had like three slow claps.
It was awkward.
But I work really well in awkward situations.
Oh, man.
See, I don't.
I just, I'm awkward, so it just, it just builds up.
I like awkward people.
I think it's so cute.
Like, awkward people are cute, but I, I can't handle, like, if there's awkward silence, I will stop it immediately for anyone.
I'll bust out laughing is what I do.
I laugh.
I laugh in awkwardness.
Laughing is your, like, go-to.
My go-to.
Okay.
And then I get, why do you laugh so much?
I'm like, I can't help it.
Oh, yeah, what a terrible quality.
What a terrible.
Why do you beat?
Why are you happy?
people really ask you why you laugh so yeah yeah and they're like you laughed a lot and I'm like
so yeah uh your point yeah why why don't you laugh get on the laugh train oh that works well
for a game I have to play with you later oh okay okay so you won NBC's The Voice which season was this again
season four season four which was like 2013 oh yeah they're like they go quick Josh Kaufman who I was with um in
york what season was he the one right after i think so i was so i they're on the next season
like it's yeah it's so fast yeah um do you watch all the other seasons i try to it's hard to watch
who's your favorite voice contestant um i might be being biased but you're one of my self
myself i like that would suck if i said that oh my god love it i'm gonna be it um this girl uh
Lauren Dusky, she was actually my
really good friend here.
Oh, okay. And it was so
cute, but funny, she was afraid to tell
me that she made the voice. And I was like, why?
Why? She thought it was like your thing? Yeah.
Yeah, I'm like, you, and she was second place.
Oh, wow, good for her. Oh, I think I remember this.
She blonde. Who was first?
Oh, gosh. You don't have to answer that. But, um,
was she also friends with Autumn Reynolds
who, and they like sing or something at honky talks? Was that a thing
Or no?
I don't know.
There's so many.
There's so many.
Does anybody in Nashville not sing?
I don't think.
It's all, everybody sings.
It's crazy.
Okay, so give us a little rundown, like a summary of your time on the voice.
Like, who turned around for you?
What team were you on?
What are standout moments that people would remember?
So I sang mean by Taylor Swift.
Loved.
Loved it.
I watched it on YouTube.
And I looked like a little tutu-toe, like, dress.
boots it was so funny um i think uh usher adam and blake turned for me which is amazing
which is amazing suck it shakira well she was like i heard your boots and i thought you would go to
blake and everything i'm like you couldn't hear my boots you're like that's a good that's a really good
excuse yeah uh okay um so they turned um and it was pretty crazy seeing them fight over me
is what they call it and i'm like um
my god it's crazy and that's when i was laughing uncontrollably oh my gosh that's so cute i was like i can't
i don't know what to do right now and so i picked blake um even though adam was very nice to look at
and i will always say that i won't be afraid to say that yeah i think he knows that but um you're like
sorry blake you're not super nice on the eyes but i do like your style yeah yeah very funny he is he is
hilarious yeah um but it was an amazing experience and a lot of people ask me they're like is behind
the scenes what everybody thinks or is it just all play when you see on tv i'm like no it's actually
very genuine really um all the coaches were exactly how they are on tv yeah and um it was it was amazing
and it definitely helped me like after the after fact like i learned so much about like even learning
how to do an interview and yeah do you guys go through um like like a media training
yeah yeah you do yeah they should put bachelor people through that so you have to go through
media training like how to do interviews and kind of like how to speak yeah and they kind of like
walk you through it and then i really got into a media training right after the voice before the real
stuff started happening like or you dove into like this crazy world yeah yeah see they don't know the
trick you just got to feed you wine
here just drink this this is your training media training have a glass of wine and julius it
yes that's funny but that's i think that's a good idea that they do that for you guys yeah it's
very helpful i don't know what i would do without it because you're young too when you go into that
yeah i was 16 that's insane to go into that kind of world at 16 yeah and well my mom signed me up
without me knowing which is really funny yeah because i was so i was so shy so shy yeah
and I would like so shy that I would like singing under tables I would sing in like with my back
yeah so you do it under tables I do it under tables that's like the sweetest thing I ever heard okay I don't want anybody to like me
let's get I mean that's a very fragile age yeah exactly especially to share such a vulnerable gift for sure and so my mom
signed me up and she was like let's just try it if you don't I mean if you don't you don't and
whatever and so i kind of fought her a little bit and then and went and i mean it just kept going
and i was the i was the kind of contestant where i was picking who i thought was going to win
i was so not competitive oh my gosh that you were the opposite of me i was like i'm so
competitive that's so funny yeah it's bad even with sean i'm competitive that's amazing
well i've kind of gotten that with my boyfriend really yeah yeah i just
That's just relationships, though.
Yeah.
But I am a competitive person, but that's not bad.
So you just kept going and going, and you're like,
I just kept going, and I'm like, okay.
And I didn't really think about, oh, I'm going to win this thing.
It was just like, this is crazy.
And I always tell people it was crazy because I was obviously a minor and I had my mom with me the whole time.
And so I had to do school.
And they had a teacher there on set that also did like Scott McCurry and Lauren Elena on American Idol.
And so she's, like, known to be the teacher for the TV shows.
Right.
And it was funny because by the end of the show, it was just me and her.
And there were so many other kids in there at first.
And we were like, so.
Oh, my gosh.
This is it.
That's so exciting.
Yeah, it's crazy to think about.
I never thought about that side of it, like, that you still had to go through school.
Yeah.
I remember having to do school on finale day.
And I was like, I have too many songs to learn and I can't do this.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah, you must have, like, been a little overwhelmed.
Oh, yeah.
Did you have to go back to school after?
the show too? I didn't. Okay. I mean, that would have been crazy. That would have been insane.
I did visit my school. They did like a homecoming while I was on the show and that was even crazy.
Just having like all the cheerleaders and people that hated me in school, follow me around and cheer me on.
I'm like, hey, look at you now. Yeah. That's why you got a piece of me. Exactly. Oh, that's so great.
What a feeling. What a feeling. Yeah. It was crazy. You know what I really loved? I. Okay.
not makes fun of me all the time i cry over so many things like i'm i'm like really sensitive
to like moments and when you were seeing the one and you're like about your mom being oh who i am
who i am yeah it was like pictures of you and then your mom was in there like she must have just
been like bursting oh she was so she was crying so hard well i was i'm like played softball
with her ones that's amazing i love that i'm just like sobbing i had to like shut the
computer. I'm like, oh my God, babe.
Why are you crying?
I actually, yes, maybe this could be a confession, but I had a Skype call with a hormonal
specialist the other day because I'm like, what the hell's wrong with me?
Like, why am I crying for everything?
I think that's the best thing I've ever.
I didn't know that was a thing.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
I didn't either. One of my girlfriends, she recommended it.
And I was talking with her and she goes, so like, what are your emotions like?
I'm like, I'm a very happy person.
Yeah.
Like, I'm not depressed.
I'm like, but I will cry over anything and everything.
Like, like something happy, crying.
Yeah.
Something sad, crying.
I'm upset.
I'm crying.
Like, everything turns to tears with me.
And she's like, yeah, we need to fix it.
Yeah, you have a verbal.
I like having a good cry, but I mean, this is excessive.
You're like, I see a bird and I start crying.
Well, I do have a fear of birds.
Oh, you do?
Oh, my God.
So that makes sense.
That's so funny.
But, like, I'll see, like, this Desani water bottle.
What is that?
What is that?
A bottle full of tears.
Start crying.
I call, like, find a way to make it sad.
I don't know.
I'm just, I'm weird like that.
And I used to never be like that.
So now I'm like, are these, like, all these tears that have been built up over 10 years just pouring out of me?
I could believe that.
Yeah.
That wouldn't be surprising.
I always say this, but my main thing, I used to force myself to watch sad movies to try and cry.
Like, come on, you.
robot come on you and now I'm like that to Sean I'm like come on you robot that is crazy I know I'm
and I and I'm doing I'm on so doing I'm on so much espresso right now like I've never had this
much espresso in a day so and you're drinking wine and I'm drinking wine so just who knows what

So, okay, so go through the show and then you,
went through like kind of a whirlwind of putting out your own debut album at the age of 17 can we
all take a knee for a second like the age of 17 you put out a debut album like yeah I'm like what was
I doing at 17 I'm like I can remember like eating a hot dog outside of a bar and like begging my dad
to pick me up because I was so like drunk oh my god putting out a debut album oh my god well I so yeah it was
a crazy whirlwind um and yeah at 17
you don't know who you are at all freaking not and i feel like we're always finding stuff about
ourselves continuously but especially at that age i that was i definitely had what's called the
awkward years and it was all documented so i was like oh that's great i can go back and look at my cricketeen
that is kind of fun though it is i don't know that you have that later in life probably yeah
and and whoever you end up marrying probably the guy you're with
You guys can have that to look back on and be like,
Oh, yeah.
This is how I grew.
Oh, yeah, I know.
And I will give him credit.
He knew me while I was, I had the crooked teeth.
So I was like, oh, you liked me for me.
That's great.
What's his name?
Brent.
Brent.
Yeah.
Oh, Brent.
You big old sweetheart.
That's so cute.
So when did you guys start dating?
We started dating.
So I knew of him.
He was that jockey.
Oh, he was that guy.
Oh, I know.
I know that guy.
Brent.
He went to my rival high school, and we're both from the same town of Cyprus, Texas.
Yeah.
And it's a big football town, so he played football and all the stuff.
And I wasn't popular, but I was friends with everybody.
Yeah.
Like, I just, I mean, the nerds, the awkward people, and then I would know the popular people.
All categories of the school you were friends.
Yeah.
And so, and I would not, I wouldn't date.
I would be so awkward with guys.
Yeah.
And he just had no problem.
I was like, okay.
And so I met him probably when I was in, like, eighth, ninth grade.
And my best friend, her and her family knew him and his family.
So that was like, we met through that.
Like, how old they?
Was that like right before you went on the show?
Right before.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I left school my first semester of sophomore year to go to the voice.
and so we talked all throughout the voice and then I came home for a minute and it's kind of a funny story because they have I had a huge like home celebration watch party for the finale and they videoed it was like my sister my friends Brent and it was just so funny because as soon as I won he didn't stand up he had his hands on his mouth and then don't make me cry what I I think
think i'm gonna make you cry oh no um his mom told me that he went straight home and cried because
he thought i would never pick him oh my god oh my god and you guys are still together i'm so happy
i'm gonna cry and then he was so he it threw him off guard when i said yes to him asking me
god he probably loves you so i hope so i mean now we're like button heads but well yeah but that's
Because you're, like, over the honeymoon face. Oh, yeah. Way over it. Don't get me started on that.
I already told you the romance was dead because Sean picked me out of Chardonnay.
I don't like Chardonnay. I don't like it. Do you even know me?
So, wait, I don't do math. How long have you guys been together?
For about four years. Four years? Yeah. That's a long time.
It is a very long time. And we're young. I'm 21 and he's 22. So young. Very young.
That's okay. Yeah. I mean, you guys are obviously growing together.
Yeah.
That's what, like, 17, I keep going back to this.
I'm like, an album at 17?
Like, what inspired 17-year-old Danielle?
Oh, my God.
Well, I, what's crazy is I didn't do the whole songwriting feelings thing back then.
And I don't know.
And so I got these group of songs sent to me that I had to basically listen to and like, okay, I like this song.
I would sing it.
And so I picked a lot of them.
They were very country, kind of voice-driven songs, and so it was very fast, like, very, very fast.
When I was recording my album, and I think my first single, Heart of Dixie, it was my first time ever being at Nashville.
Oh, really?
And so it was just all a whirlwind.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, my gosh.
Yeah.
That's so wild.
It's crazy to think about.
It's crazy, too, because, I mean, and now you're still killing it at the age of 21, and, you know, you are.
Yeah.
And so only good things from here to come.
Yeah.
I'm crossing my fingers.
I mean, I just can't get over the age thing.
Age to me is such a funny topic just because, I mean, everybody's so different.
Yeah.
But I always refer back to like what I was like at those ages.
And I'm like, oh, shit, good for you.
I was not okay.
I was not okay.
It's not okay.
I was like, what tattoo?
What stupid tattoo can I get next?
Well, I was thinking I had that.
mindset but I was so such an introvert and I wanted tattoos and I wanted to change my hair but I was
on I was in the limelight so I really couldn't change much I had the blonde hair and that's who
daniel bradbury was and so I always think okay what if I didn't do the voice I would be a hairdresser
I love that yeah so I'm like who would I who would I look like what would I what color hair would I
have now I want you to just do it I know what color hair would you have if you could
I see, I, so my whole family, my sister, my dad, my mom, even my stepdad.
Like, they all have black hair and brown hair.
Really?
And I love Burnett hair.
I love dark hair.
Really? Yeah.
That's because you have blonde hair.
It's because I have blonde hair.
And I know, I know that.
And everybody's like, but everybody's trying to get your color hair.
I'm like, I know.
What is with, I mean, it is mostly women, but men do it too.
What's with wanting what you don't have?
I don't get it.
Why are we all such assholes to yourself?
I am such an asshole to myself.
Yeah, like, why do we do that?
I don't know.
I'll sit there and look in the mirror.
I'll be like, uh, blue eyes, ew.
Why don't I have brown?
That's amazing.
It's so stupid, but I just, that's like, that's my main thing of 2018 is loving what I have.
Yeah.
And I should do that too.
Well, it'll take you like another in 12 years.
Oh, God.
Help me.
27 let me tell you okay
I say this to everybody
27 is a pivotal time in
female's lives
and for men
29 to 30 because it's a scientific fact
that the last part of their brain
that like develops is right here
nobody can see me but I'm pointing
in my forehead
that's the last part of their brain to develop
and it's the decision making part of their brain
whoa at like 30 29 30
oh god yeah so stick it out like 10 more years
you got this
that is terrifying i know but i mean and again everybody's different yeah there are men out
there that are way more mature at young age and they're you know i was just like such a degenerate
in my younger 20s that i always compare people to that but yeah um were you're good to know
were you singing since you were little um under tables right like what age i did um i've been
singing as long as i can remember i know my mom has like one of those cassette tapes that my dad like
slid in the room without me knowing and I was like doing one of those uh Christmas
karaoke things I was like five and were you good I wasn't I wasn't I it was very what I could
do at five years old you know and I I mean as I I always sang all the time and your vocal chords
are muscle yeah and so the more you sing you you get like muscle memory I guess muscle memory and so I
would just sing in my room at the top of my lung
and I didn't do voice lessons or anything because I didn't think about it.
And yeah, I just, I did the whole singing in the room thing and that's it.
If my mom or my family, my friends asked me to sing, I would get so scared.
I'd be like, no, if I can get under this table, stand with my back in the corner, like, uh-uh.
Oh, you should have done like what Sia does.
You should have been a Sia.
That's just my hair in front of me.
Yeah.
I totally get why she would do.
sea you should be the country see ya and be like make that your thing i would be i would feel so comfortable
imagine she probably like claims that as wrong you probably oh yeah i can't what a genius idea
but i know i'm like okay i'm so smart should have thought about that a long time ago
yeah so so writing an album at 17 and now at 21 you said right yes 21 actually being part of
the writing process yeah and i love it do you
you I do and you know I'm still trying to get used to actually writing a song because there's a lot that goes into it that I never would have known back then but I mean I've just kind of seen where my path is when I get into a writing room with other people and I just I just tell them exactly how I'm feeling I'm like I just want to be as honest as I can no like sugar coding here like I want to sing about something that we all go through.
I just I hate the fru-frew like yeah yeah oh sunshine no it's not really that sunshine yeah like even when you're talking about your relationship right you're like we're about meds I'm like cool thank you for being honest like we all do that yeah we all I hate when people pretend like especially being in some sort of spotlight and people see on Instagram and they're like you guys are so cute you're so perfect and I'm like hell no we're not perfect at all we wish you could be a fly on the wall yeah exactly not no but actually I definitely don't wish you could but just know that if you would
were if you were and yeah it's not i know that's crazy but but i do like that i like that
you're trying even at i i maybe it bugs you to keep saying like a young age no i don't care
yeah i am young i know that for sure um but just you you have this maturity about you that you
want to be an honest artist and musician and i think that's really important because i think that
will bring you all the success in the world to be honest and and and use that through your voice
and singing because, I mean, people have these outlets like Instagram and Twitter, whatever,
and you're just always on your A game and it's your highlight reel and you're at your best angle
and it's your best lighting and it's the filter.
And then there's something about songwriting and being an honest songwriter and putting out music
of your feelings and being vulnerable that you're like, there's no filter on this.
Yeah, for sure.
This isn't my best angle.
I don't really know how I feel about the world knowing these things about me, but I'm putting out there because that is something that so many people relate to is.
music to me is like one of the only things that makes sense in this world yeah and so when people can
relate to that i just think it's it's important to be honest yeah and i mean it's so fun to put out
you know fun little like breakup songs oh yeah but but i do like that um that's your style right now
i i love it and i think casey musgraves is very much like that and i look up to that she
she was blunt in a song i'm like heck yeah that's amazing i'm like yeah you do that
Because that's probably her.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
So it's really cool.
I love songwriting.
It is cool.
Songwriting is singers are very lucky to have that.
For sure.
Because a lot of people don't know how to express their feelings or be, you know,
and that probably is therapeutic to write a song and sing about it and then share it with people.
Yeah.
I mean, it's vulnerable too, but it's also probably a little bit therapeutic.
It is.
I call it a therapy session because you get in there with writers that become your friends and you're like,
oh, my God, me and my boyfriend had the worst day ever.
and they're just riding away.
They're like, and that's happening me.
And it turns into the most beautiful thing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's funny. It is crazy.
That's, uh, I've been working.
I try and act like, I've been working on a song, but like nobody knows because I don't put
anything out there.
I just really enjoy doing it.
So I was working on this song.
And, uh, it's about like, um, like, it's kind of like an anti-bullying anthem where
like, you can say whatever you want about me, but it, you have to have like my permission
for it to affect me.
Yeah.
And I say bullshit in it, and I'm like, yeah, like, I feel like, am I singing bullshit?
I'm like, oh, Caitlin.
What's up?
Caitlin Bruce, I only sing bullshit.
Like, I feel like empowered when I sing it.
That's amazing.
Liberating.
I wish I could say that in a song, but not yet.
You'll get there.
I will.
You'll get there.
Well, that's it.
I still, I don't know.
I just, I hate telling people their age.
You're like, oh, you're so young.
But, like, you are very mature for your age.
and you've had lots of life experiences for your age.
I will say I have for my age.
And that's crazy going into just going back home and seeing old friends that are still at home.
Oh. Because all my family's still at home. And I love, I'm such a home body. I love Texas.
I'm a Texas girl or whatever. And it's just, if I hang out with a group of them, I'm like, I don't even know how to talk to you all anymore.
Yeah. And what they talk about, it's like,
You're like, we're on different pages.
That was me?
I talked about that.
You know what?
I totally get that just going back to your, and because they don't know any different.
No.
And that's not bad.
It's just different.
Yeah.
You're just like, how are we from the same place and we're so, we were so close and now we're on just such different pages of life.
For sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because as soon as I left my hometown, it was like zero to 10.
Yeah.
Crank it up.
It was just...
Fifth gear.
Your hair's flying in the wind.
My hair's all the way back here.
Yeah.
Exactly.
And you ain't stopping.
No.
So now on...
You wrote seven out of ten songs on the album.
Okay.
I'm looking at the list of songwriters that you write with.
I'm like, so I just go on the voice and then...
How can you hook me up with these people?
No, I know you have to count for it.
But the Thomas Rett gave you one of his songs.
Yes.
Hello, Summer.
Yes, which is awesome.
I know.
Thanks, thanks Tommy.
I'm going to call him that from now on.
Thanks, Tommy.
Tell him I said it.
Oh, I will.
I will.
Tommy Tommy.
But I, so we actually share the same management.
And I think that's so awesome because I mean, I've started out being such a big fan of him.
He's amazing.
You know, him and his wife are just the cutest things ever.
they really are and they're perfect they're perfect cup of gold and um see them on instagram
um and so i think he just he writes constantly and he's always having just songs laying around
or yeah songs that he's thinking about and um i know have one of mine here here i have a hustle left
have a number one hit yeah exactly and so my manager um sent this over to me and
She was like, just listen to it.
I don't know if he's, I don't think he's going to put it on this album, whatever.
And I listened to it with his vocal.
And it was just cool listening to a Thomas Rett song no one has heard before.
Right.
And I'm like, oh, this is cool.
And I was like, yeah, I'll put my vocal down.
And it ended up being in.
Like, can you just, do you take that in?
Do you ever just?
I, it takes a second.
But I have to sit down and be like, marinate in that.
Marinate.
You know, like, Thomas Rett just, you know, gave me a song.
I guess I'll put my vocals on it.
big deal yeah yeah exactly you talked me into it fine i put my vocals on it it it took him a while
to talk me into it but yeah yeah yeah you have to play hard to get oh heck yeah but you went for it
yeah yeah that's amazing yeah it was really awesome yeah like there and you write with people um
i don't want to butcher anybody's name but like people who write with one direction yeah yeah exactly
Ian frenzino Ian Frenzino yes you said that really good I feel like that's really good I feel like
That's Italian.
I don't know.
Actually.
Do Italians roll their ours?
Or did I just make that out?
I don't know.
Franzino.
So Italian.
He's like, actually, I'm German.
I'm like, actually, I'm not Italian at all.
I'm French.
Anyways.
But just such an exciting time in your life.
I'm just excited for you.
Thank you.
I feel like a lot of people are so afraid to go after their passions due to like that
crippling fear of failure that everybody feel.
because fear of failure is a real thing.
It is, yeah.
But how do you find that confidence at your age to just kind of immerse yourself in the Nashville especially, just surrounded by talent?
And you're making big waves.
Like, you're doing it.
How did you find that confidence?
You know, actually, it's crazy to tell people this.
I really don't go around telling everybody, but I'm...
You can tell me it's a safe place here.
Yes, it is.
I actually am a very, very introverted person.
I have a lot of insecurities that people never would know about.
And people ask me, they're like, how are you so confident?
And how do you talk this way?
I'm like, you know, it's just, it took time.
Yeah.
And you just have to be happy of what you're doing.
And if you're not happy, then you can see it.
It's that simple, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. And it's, I don't know.
There's, I don't think for me, there's really not an explanation of how I got confident, you know, there's just, it takes practice, I guess.
Yeah.
And I'll always have my shyness, but I, I guess I'm better at being shy.
Hey, I love you for saying this because I am, I'm just so for people being who they are.
And the fact that you can find success in singing and being in that world while being shy and then being like, I don't know, I'm really shy.
and I have insecurities but like hell have you heard me saying like that's cool I like that
you're shy and you make it work yeah I I try to make it work and like you know you know a lot of
people think they need to be successful they need to be this big extrovert outgoing like networking
kind of person but yeah I think you just have to be a good person yeah with a little bit of talent
you have to have a little bit of it depends what industry but I just think like a you just
in life should be a good person and who you are
are and that will bring some sort of success to you no matter what industry or what world you're in.
For sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Except for like podcasting.
Sometimes I'm like in such a shit mood and I'd be like, da, duh, duh, hey, I'm so happy.
I mean, I have to do that sometimes.
Yeah, I guess we all do.
That's true.
I have to put a mask on.
That's true.
You do.
And everybody does in whatever profession they're in.
For sure.
I do find you an honest person.
I like that you all being shy.
Oh, yeah.
I'm shy.
Shy and awkward.
That's me.
That is me.
That's amazing.
I always wonder what it would be like to be shy.
I love, I see, vice versa.
Oh, gosh.
My son has to tell me to take a backseat.
Hey, I say that to my boyfriend.
Is he a big personality?
Oh, my God.
Really?
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay, wait, I feel, I'm like, how can I set this up?
We're going to confess right now.
Okay.
Because, not that I think yours has anything to do with him, but it might, but my confession has something to do with this kind of situation.
Before we confess, let's talk about the wine or drinking to wash away those sins.
I've been talking about bright sellers forever, and they actually sent me some really cool information about how their wine quiz works.
In case you guys wanted to know, you start by taking the quiz.
It asks questions like, what's your favorite type of?
chocolate, how do you like your tea, and their algorithm will recommend the top four wines that
you're most likely to enjoy. They said that their algorithm picks out certain flavors from the
foods that you like, and then they recommend wine that taste similar. For example, if you like
dark chocolate and unsweetened iced tea, then you might be matched with something that's
slightly more bitter like a cab. But if you like Arnold Palmer's, white chocolate, something
a little more sweet, you might be matched with something sweet like a moscato. Mosquito.
There are seven total questions, so it's a little more complicated than that.
And some of the answers are less obvious, but it's fun and easy to get recommendations for wines that you might otherwise not try.
So take the quiz, see your matches.
You can also get 50% off your matches when you go to brightsellers.com slash off the vine.
That's brightsellers like a wine cellar.com slash off the vine for 50% off.
so Sean is he's not an extrovert and he's very reserved and laid back and he's funny and he can be like outgoing and whatever but he's more like if you meet him he's like you know he's chill he's laid back he's just kind of whatever and I am like in your face aggressive yeah like everybody look at me I'm here and so the other day I had Russell Dickerson and his
wife, Kay Leon. They're amazing. And they're talking about this enneagram quiz, which is a
personality test and find out what you are. Did you do this? Me and my boyfriend did. I made him do
it, yes. Because I told you to? Yes. Yes. Okay, I'm so happy. Okay, I'm so happy. So I told Danielle
to take this personality test because I wanted to talk about this. Yeah. So I'm like, oh, duh,
I'm a three. I'm a three. He's a three. Brent's a three. Brent's a three. Brent's a three.
Right. It's a three. Okay. So I'm like reading what it is. And, you know, it's like to sum it up, threes are self-assured, attractive, charming, ambitious, competent, energetic. They can be status conscious. They're highly driven for advancement. They're diplomatic. They're poised. But they can also be overly concerned with their image and what other people think of them. They typically have problems with workaholism. That's definitely not me. And competitiveness.
at their best this is nice they're self-accepting authentic everything they seem to be the role models who inspire others i just wanted to throw that in there
but like the bad parts of them is like a lot it's a lot and so i found out sean's a three too really
and i was like do i even know you oh my god and i would have never pinned him as a three but he's just a
different level of a three but he's a three he's a that's crazy is the achiever and and so i freaked out
i was like you can't be a three i'm a three and i like started crying i started crying naturally
immediately called my therapist and i was like hey i'll like say her name angela i'm like
i need to i need to come see you we're both threes because my therapist is like such a big uh she like
studies the enneagram numbers and why and how you can work together if you're both threes and i was
like ha ha ha because i freaked out thinking it was a bad thing yeah i would have too yeah i'm like
no no no we can't have this two two big personalities competitive blah blah blah yeah and it said like
two threes that are are living so there's like the healthy way of living in a three there's the
impaired way of living in three there's and there's like an average way and if you're both like
go to a point or in an argument if you both are in your impaired self as a three oh my god
I sound so stupid I love it uh you like you can have really big problems yeah and so I talked to her
and it was so funny because she has all these like laminated sheets and you lay them out on the ground
and you go through everything but it's actually really helpful so my confession is that
I freaked out over Sean and I both being a three went to a therapist and like cried my eyes out
to realize like it can actually be a beautiful thing but yeah it's all about how you work your number
i love that i love that okay what were you i was a nine oh which one's that that's the introverted
like wants to make peace with everything right oh is it called the peacemaker the peacemaker yeah
yeah i'm into this oh yeah test if you can't tell i get fired up yeah okay so you're a nine so
you're a peacemaker okay so what do you want me to i i have it yeah because i'm so okay
That probably works well with a three, doesn't it?
So keeping peace in harmony.
Okay.
And it's people of this personality type essentially feel a need for peace and harmony.
They tend to avoid conflict at all costs, whether it be eternal or internal personal as the potential.
Like, it's just very introverted.
That's kind of, I mean, that's nice, though.
I'm like, ooh, I could be friends with a nine.
I could be friends with a nine
I kind of need a nine in my life
Yeah it's
And what does it say there
What the
I don't know where you
Tough things are
Because some people
This is just what I read all the way
Oh that's okay
Some people I've heard like
I know I can think of a couple right now
Who are friends of ours
She's for sure a nine
And he gets annoyed at her like
Come on like
Have some passion and fight me back
Yeah
Do you just want to be like
No we just aren't fighting
Or do you have a little
fiery side in you. I have a fiery side. I get that from my mother. Oh, good. Oh, good. So you're like, you're like a nine
mixed with a little bit of something else. Yes, I think so. Okay. We're not sure which one. Some of them I was
like, I'll do that, but then I will, I'll, I'll say something. Well, that's because there's different ways of
there. It's like when you're stressed out, you could be a different part of a number. Like, your main
number is nine, but you could be a little bit of a. Yeah. God, any agreement. Like, if I, if I,
I know, they really should.
But when I and my managers can say something about this too, but when I'm like feeling stress, just anxious, like you'll see me bite my lip.
My facial expressions, I can't hide to save my life.
Oh, yeah, it's really bad.
You're a little transparent when you're angry.
Yeah.
That's okay.
And if I like see somebody that I'm like, oh, like, I just need to walk away.
Yeah.
That's, well, good for you.
It's called patience.
And that's a good thing, because I'll probably blow up in your face.
And so Brent's a three.
He's a three.
And so he's like the go-getter constantly like.
I think it was so funny because I read all the way through.
In one line it said like hates being called or looked at as a loser.
And I was like, that is so you.
Oh, yeah.
That is so you.
He's like, this not me.
I was like, yeah, yeah, it is.
Oh, that's totally mean.
The three don't.
threes don't want to admit a lot of these things i'll admit it i'll admit to all of the three i'm like
yeah yeah i don't want to be looked at as a loser i just don't like i'm competitive where i'm like
looking at the roster of the new bachelor girls coming out i'm like which one's going to have a
podcast yeah is she funny exactly yeah i mean that's i get so competitive yeah but it'll fire me up
in a way where i'm like okay how can i like you know i want i also want women
to succeed so I'm like good for you but I'm going to be better yeah I mean that's that's a good thing
yeah that's like success and I don't know sure sure sure I'm just trying to make me seem like not a huge
I'm not but like I do I look I'm like I hope you do well but I hope I do better I mean I don't
see anything wrong with that just being competitive yeah yeah exactly so so you guys both
sat down and did the test we did the test because I
I did it first.
And he's like, wait, I want to do mine.
Yeah.
And then he goes, I got a three.
I was like, ooh, let me read that.
Yeah.
And then did you read how a nine works with a three in a relationship?
I didn't.
I need to.
But make sure you're reading it from a place of acceptance and that you're like, I probably won't.
Yeah, I know.
Well, that was my whole problem.
Yeah, I'll give you my therapist number.
I'm like, oh, my God, this is going to happen in a few years.
Like one part of, if you're like in a very, like, dark place of being a three, it talks
about, like, cheating.
I'm like, he's going to cheat on me.
Oh, my gosh.
See, I don't know if I just read it.
But I'm like,
Sean's like the most loyal human being on the planet.
That's awesome.
And so I like said that.
He's like, okay, I'm not even acknowledging this.
Whatever.
I'm going to just walk away.
He's like, you're a loser.
And then I'm like, don't call me a loser.
That is so funny.
Anyways, that's my confession.
Oh, man.
My confession is basically that I'm emotional wreck.
I love that.
But I'm also a three.
do you have a confession for me um oh gosh uh well i will say my let me fill up my wine because i have to wash your sins away with my wine
okay once you tell me how's your wine doing it is i'm drinking very slow for some reason
no but i was thinking about it on the way here honestly and we actually talked a little bit about it before we sat down
but had a gyno appointment today yes oh yeah tell me everything and give me your number and i was
thing and I was like this is probably going to be so awkward for fans to I'm not even going to go there either no no it's not fans will love this oh god in a weird way oh yeah you're right well I just feel people wait we all go through it I don't freaking care all the girls listening to this podcast have been to a gyno so we can all relate here heck yes they have yeah okay so I did I did that today and oh this is fresh news my oh today
And my doctor had a student with her.
Oh, the worst.
And I didn't, I'm too nice to be like, no, I don't want you in here.
I was like, okay, hi, nice to meet you.
Oh, you would.
She did the whole thing.
And I tell you what, she had a freaking clipboard, writing down, leaning over, just looking away and writing down stuff.
I was like, what could you possibly writing down right now?
I want to see your paper.
Oh, my gosh.
I want to see the paper.
Yeah.
So funny.
So I guess my confession is I don't like other people looking at it.
That's a very valid and fair confession.
No, that would, I would have said no.
You're just so nice that you said yes.
I would, no, I didn't say yes or anything.
She didn't ask me what was the crazy thing.
She goes, this is my student.
Okay, anyway.
That's illegal.
I know.
We won't call her out, but.
She can't do that.
She has to ask.
I know.
She didn't ask.
I was noticing that.
And I was like, this is so.
weird she has a clipboard yeah the clipboard really throws me off it looked like a movie i it was
hilarious and like lean over like leaned over she was making facial expressions no and she was saying
this is such an awkward conversation if you're with the right person i don't get awkward okay good but
you're looking good but i am but i'm like that is weird i want to see your paper right now she's
probably just like talking about the tools they're using or something down there the tools
I bet.
He's feeling so awkward right now.
Don't be awkward out there.
Does it get used to it?
If you're going to do,
nobody can hear who we're talking to,
but pipe in for a second.
Hi.
The most nervous, hi, I'm at all.
Give me a break.
You have a wife and kids.
You know what's up.
I'm totally messing with you guys.
Yeah.
just finds it funny but yeah isn't that insane yeah i did a whole can you not segment on gynaecologist
and that i think that was one of them like can i bring my what did they called understudies
i guess so i said an intern and my mom was like they're not interns well basically i mean they're
like trying to learn but i'm like oh cheers cheers you're a sin that's not a sin that's just like
I could have came up with a better confession.
No, no, that's pretty good.
That just happened today.
So I was like, well, I really appreciate it.
That's funny.
Okay, so we've talked about the anyograms, we've talked about the gynecologists,
we've talked about your music.

Oh, does your boyfriend live in a different city?
He actually, we live here in Nashville now.
But we did go through the long distance.
Okay.
For a while when he moved to Nashville first.
I mean, this just really speaks volumes of your guys' love story because...
You're really sticking it out through a lot.
Oh, we've, we've had the roller coaster ride for sure, yeah.
And you've made it through.
I hope.
Well, you're still going.
We're going, yeah.
I mean, it's a constant battle for the get you die.
I'm sorry to burst your bubble.
It's a great battle, but it's constant.
Yeah.
But we did go through, he moved to Nashville first, and I was living back in Texas for a while.
And so when I would come to Nashville, anytime I needed to, to record.
or whatever, I would stay with him or I would get my hotel and he just come pick me up.
We go eat and stuff.
But we did the long distance thing for sure.
Wow.
And it was long distance is not easy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It ain't a walk in the park.
No.
I've done it.
And even with Sean, like what while the show was airing, we had to not only be doing long
distance, but it had to be sneaky.
Like nobody could know.
So like even in public, I couldn't talk to him on the phone.
That is crazy.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
And we had alias names.
So, like, if we both traveled to L.A. to meet in a private house, I was Ariel and he was
Eric, like, from Little Mermaid.
Oh, I love that.
I know.
I know.
Those were, like, our alias names.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, it was so wild.
But that was the worst.
It's like, gosh, we barely know each other.
We're engaged.
Yeah.
And now we have to do long distance while a whole show airs that, like, people are coming
up to Sean being like, because the room.
rumor was that I picked nobody and that was out in the internet and out in the world.
So people were coming up, girls were like straddling Sean being like,
who cares about Caitlin right?
And he's like, and he can't be like, yeah, who cares?
But he's like, get off me.
Yeah.
It was wild.
Oh my God.
So I thought we could do long distance.
Can you not?
Can you not?
Can you not?
Can you not?
Long distance.
Okay.
Which I did tweet out, so I'm sure some.
some of the lovely viner vinos, what do I call them, vinos, have some input, but do you have a
couple for relationship, Keny Knotts? I guess this goes along with, like, I guess, I mean,
being together, but when I do travel, and I'm actually going to, about to go to the UK soon,
so I guess being gone for a while, it's long distance too. Is this a tour?
It's, well, it's this thing called C to C. Yeah. And a lot of artists.
are going and it's just different stages and it's i've never been to the uk either oh this is so exciting
for you i'm really i'm really excited you're going as a musician yeah lucky bee that's amazing
but um i guess it can kind of tie into this but uh can you not long distance is coming home
or coming to see them and like the dishes are all in the sink and yeah that will never can you not
be so dirty it dishes drive me nuts because i remember open
Oprah saying that it's like, get a lot of my wisdom from her.
She said something about the sink being like nastier than your toilet, like having more germs if you have dirty dishes.
It stinks up your whole house.
It's disgusting. Yes.
Yeah. That is a can you not?
Yeah. Like, don't.
If I'm going to be on the road, can you not have your dishes?
Yeah.
Even if it was his house and I didn't live there yet. Like, I don't want to see that.
Right.
It's dirty. No.
And when I come back like that should be like, everything should be spot.
Yes.
Can you not?
Mine is can you not Wi-Fi cut out when we're in the middle of doing something on Skype?
Okay?
I love that.
We're into this.
Yeah.
And now you're messing with our vibe.
Yes.
Yeah.
Can you not Wi-Fi?
That's a good can you not.
It's happened.
I'm like dodgy Wi-Fi and long distance when we're like in the honeymoon phase.
Yeah.
No.
Yeah.
Oh, God.
I can vouch for that.
Yeah.
For sure.
Do you have any other ones?
Oh, God.
This one's, some girl said,
can you not complain to me
that your boyfriend's out of town
for the weekend when I haven't seen mine in two months?
Oh, that's a good one.
I used to get so mad at girls being like,
and then he's going to wait for three days.
I'm like, shut up.
Yeah, I don't see mine every day.
So nice.
Yeah.
Shut up.
That is a good one, though.
Feel free to pipe in.
I said that out there, too.
Is that even a thing?
Pipe in?
Isn't it pipe down?
Piping.
I don't know.
I don't even know.
It's like on what's that movie called I Love You Man when he's like, you got it, Jobin.
And he's like, what?
Why did I just say it?
So stupid.
I'll be thinking of can you nots.
Okay.
I'll read a couple from Twitter.
Okay.
Oh, this is such a good one.
Can you not surprise FaceTime me when I've already gotten ready for bed and taken off all of my makeup and applied all my necessary beauty creams?
They're expensive and I can't afford to reapply.
Like that's so funny because I'd be like so dulled up and cute like when we were first together and then I wouldn't think I was going to talk to him and then I'd like okay shower wet hair and my hair Caitlin with wet hair and bun like not cute I look like a little boy and then makeup's off everything and then he's like hey and I'm like damn it this can kind of go back to the confession thing because I used to and I don't even think my boyfriend knows about this but I don't even think my boyfriend knows about this but I
I used to do that whole surprise, FaceTime, Skype.
You remember Uvoo?
No, but I'm Canadian.
Maybe that was an American thing.
Maybe.
I don't know.
It's basically the same as like Skype and stuff, but they would want to, I mean, my boyfriend
would want to video chat me and I would be just no makeup, whatever.
I would get up, go put some makeup on, and get cute.
And like half of my body would be made up in the rest.
was not. I'm like, I did that for you. That was, that took a lot of energy.
That's effort. Yeah, that reeks of effort. Yes. That's a lot. Yeah. That's good for you. That's, I mean, I've done it too. I can remember being like, oh. And then sometimes John would be like, why don't it take you so long to answer? I'd be like, because I looked like hell. Yeah. Yeah. Totally. Um, okay. Can you not tell me that long distance relationships never work when you know that I'm in a long distance relationship. That's funny. Oh my God.
That's funny because people do say, oh, long distance, that never work.
I know.
But we've showed them.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They're still around.
You know what?
Sammy Collins, you tell them.
You tell them.
We're here for you.
You tell them.
I've been forgetting to say names.
It was Chelsea McLennan that said the FaceTime.
Well, I've already gotten ready for bed.
That's a good one.
Who else?
See, I can't think of anywhere now.
I know it's kind of, I like putting people on spot.
I apologize.
This person has a golden retriever in a picture.
I'm obviously going to talk.
Wait, you have a dog.
I have two dogs.
Yes.
What kinds?
So I rescued them from the shelter.
So they're like all mixes there.
So one of them's a German cheper mix and one's a pointer mix.
So they're crazy.
They're just, they're insane.
I just love dogs more than people all the time.
I love them.
Oh, I need to meet your dogs.
Yes.
You should get Tucker a play date.
Oh, my God.
That would be awesome.
So Jenna Airbing, who has the Golden, said,
can you not tell me my relationship?
Oh, same one.
Can you not tell me my relationship won't work because we don't live in the same place.
With effort and dedication, it will work.
You damn right, you golden retriever lover, you.
Someone currently in a long distance relationship for seven years, long distance for, oh, six months.
Oh, oh, wow.
That is tough.
See, then the next one under it, Melanie, can you not?
They just don't work.
Can you not?
Yes, they do.
any they do work her Twitter handle is dang male I'm like dang mail they do
dying male they do dying at mail like that's like what am I king of the hill
dying it mile they do work God my laugh is so annoying it's like wheezing
okay I swear do you listen to the last like five podcasts I've done and I bring up my wheezing
laugh every time I'm like what am I 80? Oh my god every laugh I do I'm like every time and
then I always talk about it on the podcast because I'm like what's wrong my laugh
Why do I do that?
I do that all the time.
I think you're, like, afraid to, like, fully, like, bah, ha, ha, into the microphone.
Oh, no, my mom is one of those.
We're, like, we're at a restaurant, and she's like, nah, and she's like, oh, I'm sorry.
Oh, that's my mom, too.
My mom tried to flirt with the waiter once, and she, like, threw her head back laughing and smashed it into a little.
She's going to hate me for telling that story.
That's amazing.
It's okay.
It's not like she listens to my podcast.
Anyways, yeah, right.
She listens to every single one.
Okay.
Okay. Let's do you like one more.
Oh.
Yeah. Lauren.
Can you not sit on your computer the entire time you're at my house when I can only see you one weekend this month?
Ooh.
That would piss me off.
That's a good one.
Get off your electronics.
Oh, my gosh.
There's so many.
This is hilarious.
Katie Jones.
I love you.
Can you not get jealous of a vibrator?
She said.
Oh, my gosh.
Can you not get jealous of my vibrator?
Oh, that's funny.
That's a funny, too.
That's really funny.
I think that won.
You've got to end on that because that's too good.

3030 again free trial membership when you text vine to 303 030 okay so I wanted to come up with
the game okay first of all I feel like I'm just not saying anything that I need tell me about
your album first of all what um so because this I have a point to this but like I do want to know
okay so obviously I wrote most of this album that's what I was getting at earlier I don't
know where I went with that seven to ten songs yes seven to ten songs and um this one so it took about
and I'm not a hundred percent correct but about two and a half years of just quiet like people my fans
I praise them because they held on for so long that is a long time that's dedication
loyal you've got loyal fans I tell people and them I'm like oh if I were you I would have been done
a long time ago i'm not that patient um but i see what i did there yes i see what you did
um but i so i just got into songwriting really heavily um for the first time um in the beginning
and you know i got a lot of songs under my belt and got together this album and it's called
i don't believe we've met yes and um we picked that because it we say it we say
that it's kind of like a reintroduction of myself since I was so young that's genius being like
I don't know what I was talking about then and now since I had time yeah I've had time and I have
new pictures and and new album cover and all of this new stuff to go with a new album so we're like
let's just read like it's our first album now yeah yeah my name is Danielle yeah I was trying to do
Jay Z there but I threw in your name um but I so I just I mean back to the whole
honesty thing that's what I told all the writers and in every room I went in and um they were all
for it which was awesome and it I didn't really have a specific you know sound or like topic to
talk about with this album I my mindset was if we get a awesome song
that's talking about something honest, then let's hold it.
And so the whole album ended up honestly being about a lot of relationship ups and downs.
And it's because in the meantime of that, me and my boyfriend went through a pretty down phase.
Peaks and valleys.
Peaks and valleys.
And it was just honestly, perfect timing, but really just shitty moments of my life.
But that's the stuff that people gravitate towards and they want to hear.
and they feel like they get to know you, but they also relate to it.
For sure.
And what's really cool is a lot of those rights and a lot of those songs,
that moment of feeling exactly what the song's talking about was something that happened the day of.
And I would come in the right and honestly telling my management,
I just don't feel like doing anything.
Don't feel like right.
I'm emotional, a wreck.
They're like perfect.
They're like, you go now.
Yeah. And so I would go in and tell my friends now about times with the boy and even just, I mean, some of them, the other writers would have ideas and I'd be like, oh my God, that's perfect. I know a lot of people can relate to that. Absolutely.
So it just, all the songs that are on this new album came together very naturally. And it came out December 1st of last year. So yeah, I've just been so excited to finally have an out.
album out and i just think it's so cool i have an album i don't have an album and it's like i love that
it's reintroducing like have we have we what is it i'm like oh my god i just blanked and it's i don't
believe we've met i'm like yeah we have we have not met yet so what is your name that's the name
of the album right i love that that's that's actually a like genius idea for you to do that and people are
probably so pumped like yay we get to like know what she's been doing the last couple years
it's been fun to see their reactions and just see how long they've they've supported so it's really
awesome yeah I mean that's got to feel good yeah that's great um okay so I absolutely love the song
worth it thank you it is my like jam right now every time it comes on the radio I'm like yes
because I just love the message behind it and you honestly probably change a lot of girls
through your words which is pretty powerful I hope for that is powerful you do and I love that
you said I can't remember I thought that that dads will come up to you and say thank you it's a real
thing I so in meet and greets and after shows and I did a lot of album promo shows just around the
hit the big cities when my album came out and dads would come up to me and be like you know my
daughter had that guy that a dad wouldn't approve and went through something and they're like,
I'll tell you what. And their dad voices and it's so sweet. I'll tell you what. It got her to break up with
him. And I'm like, oh my God. That is powerful. Like that's crazy. Can you even just wrap your head
around that you have power to like help women through tough times? No. It takes me a second.
I'm like, that is insane. It's like that to me would be just like,
that's winning an award for me like that's a lot that's yeah that's more than winning an award like
yeah you're changing people's lives i think that is so crazy it is and it's like you you're your mind and
your brain probably can't even access those feelings of what you're really like doing yeah but just know
like think of those stories all the time and no because that's got to that's got to keep you going
through it does yeah it's definitely something i've held on to to think about for sure and
what's crazy, too, is that those stories and your message can be for girls, women, anywhere
from the age of, like, 14 to 70.
Yeah.
Seriously.
You know, like, that's what's crazy.
Yeah.
And it's so awesome, too, because sometimes at a show, I'll sing that song at either a guitar
pool where we're all up there on stage together, and it's very intimate crowd, and everybody's just
there to listen.
And I'll sing the chorus as I'm worth it.
And I hear women, whoa.
Yeah.
Amy and sister.
Like, are we in church?
I love it.
Oh, see, that's the power you have.
I love it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey, can I get an amen?
It's so awesome.
That is.
Oh, man, that's the best feeling.
Yeah.
It's really awesome.
Oh, man.
I just love it.
I love that it's from your.
heart too like you've gone through it so you're like I'm not just singing the lyrics people like
yeah it's a feeling and yeah for sure so it led me to come up with a game okay called worth it or nah
that's amazing so I'm gonna like throw out a couple scenarios okay we'll get to know you a little
better by figuring out if it's worth it or nah or nah okay okay so getting no sleep just to catch up
on reality television.
Is that worth it to you or nah?
Nah.
Yeah.
Good.
I was hoping to say that.
I like sleep.
Me too. I like need sleep to function in a day.
Yeah, me too.
Okay.
Having the worst hangover, but it's because you wrote a number one hit with Blake Shelton.
Oh, worth it?
Yeah.
Sure.
That was a stupid question.
That was worth it.
Okay.
You have to have five years taken off your life, but it's for your dog to get an extra.
of three.
Oh.
I know.
I cried when I wrote this question out.
Oh my God.
Worth it.
Yeah, me too.
Hands down.
My dogs are just thinking about that.
Me too.
I cried writing the question because I just like looked over at Tucker and I was like,
I would give you my life.
Like, I'd give you anything.
Oh, God.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Worth it.
That's a crazy question, though.
That is a crazy question.
are you a coffee person um yeah okay what's your like guilty pleasure drink so diet coke coffee wine
what is it um oh god i think it's honestly it's root beer oh okay cool but then i feel like i know
your answer to this then okay what is it okay i have to switch it up for ruby beer you have to give up
root beer but it means that calories from pizza won't count anymore so you could never have root beer
ever again okay but you get to eat pizza with no calories is that a wait this is it dumb that one
was dumb i wrote it i was like is that i might skip that one because i love pizza oh okay wait let me
reverse it okay okay reverse it wait i'm like wait how do i reverse this you have to give up
pizza no we're just going to skip this one i don't know where my mom
mind was with this i was going somewhere but it went nowhere yeah next question okay you have to shave your
head okay oh you're down with that right no no no you're like okay okay okay i'll shave my head okay you have to
shave your head but you will win a gramie is that a grammy what you win for music yes yes
okay good yeah um so if i shave my head i will get a grammy yeah but you deserve it okay um sure
But it comes to shaving your head.
Worth it.
Yeah.
I was hoping I was hoping you said a little worried about you there.
Yeah.
I was like, this is a Grammy.
We're not going to shave the head.
Okay.
You had to have something removed and you could never laugh again.
So you had something that could have to remove your laugh.
But your voice would be better than Adele's.
Ooh.
Worth it.
Yeah?
Worth it.
Sometimes I get annoyed with my laugh.
So.
What?
laughing is the most beautiful thing and I even love when you snort.
Because sometimes I do and I'm like, oh my gosh,
it's the most endearing thing in the world.
I snort.
Okay, we don't have much time so I want to ask you a few questions because I wrote
on my Off the Vine Facebook group, they're like a family in there.
That's awesome.
They're amazing.
And so I stopped asking questions on Twitter like, hey, I'm podcasting with this person
because you'd get mean, you know, like trolls.
Yes, yes.
trolls trolling so i was like i'm gonna go to my family on on uh off the vine page so people are
pumped that you're on my podcast that's awesome and there's like 200 questions but i'm just gonna
pick a few okay i'm gonna try and pick ones that i haven't asked yet uh oh my gosh do i need
glasses i'm like these these ladders are small uh okay maggie oh no that's not any question
she just said oh my god i love her so much so excited for this podcast uh like i honestly
need glasses um see i'm and i'm going through being like wow we answered that we answered that
hey that's okay um oh what inspired the song worth it from katy binkley but i think that's just
from your experiences and just yeah inspiring others through insecurities i'm like answering for you
And yeah, yeah, lack of confidence and walking out of meetings or anything, relationships, too, just wishing you'd said something better, you know?
Yeah, you're worth.
Just feeling worth it.
Bianca Rivas, my question, she talks about how her new album is us meeting a new Danielle, and I'm curious on when was the moment she realized she wanted to change and transition from old Danielle to new Danielle.
What was the turning point?
Duh, age.
We don't say growing up a little bit.
Yeah.
Ah.
Oh, goodness.
I think when I hit 20.
Yeah, you just felt like a new woman.
You just felt, yeah.
Honestly, when I woke up on my 21st birthday, I did feel a lot different.
Really?
Yes.
Wait, that was like a joke my parents did to me all the time growing up.
They'd be like, how do you feel 10?
And then I'd turn 11.
Do you feel 11 today?
They'd always do it.
And I was like, no.
I felt, it was.
It was weird.
Interesting.
I felt like a freaking boss lady.
Yes.
I was like.
You're like, I'm 21, bitches.
And I will say, my boyfriend was like, okay, I don't, you're being too in control.
And I'm like, hell yeah, I am.
You damn right I am.
The pants are on.
Yeah.
Three.
Yeah.
You number three.
Loser.
I'm just kidding.
I'm just kidding.
You big loser.
The worst possible thing.
As a three, I can joke about that because I know.
That's so crazy that you woke up at 21.
I think that was me at 30.
I, 20s, I was like, blah, blah, la.
30, I woke up.
I was like, I'm a woman.
Oh, there you go.
Yeah, and I felt good about it.
Good.
I didn't even fear turning 30.
I was like, this is my year.
And that's when I found love.
You like, yeah.
Like that chombie?
Aw, I love it.
When I felt like a woman.
Okay, we'll do a couple more questions.
Oh, Brooke Woodward, if she could have a theme song for her life, what would it be?
Oh, Lord.
Well, that's a deep question.
I know.
I'm like trying to think about mine, too.
It's five o'clock somewhere.
That would be my.
I was thinking about going really sentimental and deep.
Oh, yeah, me too.
Just kidding.
No, but I love that.
I don't know.
I don't know.
that's okay
don't me keep going on
and be drunk on a plane
yeah
yeah
um
oh god
see I can't
I
can let me think of one
for you
think about too many things
and I can't pick one
um
my life
was in a song
I want to think about this for you
I'll get
I'll get
um
everyone to edit this part out
so that we can just sit here and think.
Yeah.
A song.
Have you heard Thunder, a Thunder by Imagine Dragon?
Yeah, that's a good one.
Okay.
You want to go with that one?
That's very passionate.
Yeah, let's do that.
Thunder.
Yeah.
That's a great song.
Yeah.
Okay, now I'm going to go listen to the lyrics.
Yeah.
I don't remember.
I didn't even listen to him until my mother.
told me to listen to them.
Yeah.
Your mom.
My mom.
Oh, she's awesome.
Is she a treat?
She is hilarious.
My mom's a treat too.
It loves to dance.
Oh.
That's where I get it from.
Our mom should be friends.
Yeah.
That's it.
Oh, my gosh.
How have I not said this is my last thing.
You go to dance class on Monday nights?
Yeah.
I haven't been in a while, but I do.
But can we set up like private dance classes and you can do private dance classes.
I want to come up with choreography and like do a dance.
I've danced my whole life.
And I miss it so much because I went and watched The Greatest Showman.
And I was...
You love that movie, too?
I don't love it.
It's an obsession.
I dream about it.
I listen to the soundtrack everywhere I go.
Me too.
I pretend I'm like...
I listen to it when I work out.
That's so weird.
Yeah.
I'm like, the bearded of lady.
I'm like, this is me a world.
Oh, when she dances, I'm like, get it, girl.
Get it.
Oh, yeah, I get into it.
I'm obsessed.
I'm obsessed.
And I'm like, I need to get back to dancing.
Yeah.
And I saw on your Instagram that you were, like, meeting with a choreographer, and I'm like, can I join?
Yeah.
Okay.
Heck yeah.
Okay.
Yes.
I will give you the name and everything after this.
Okay, but I hope you know I'm serious.
I know.
And I'm going to, like, make a video of us, and we're going to come up with a sweet dance.
Okay.
Cool.
Yay.
Totally pushed that on you, but I hope you're okay with that.
I'm okay with that.
Oh, gosh.
I just got me so fired up with the heart's pounding from like, yeah.
I can see it.
The greatest showman dancing.
your eyes are like this i've seen it twice in theaters and i just can't see i've only seen it once
and i want to see it again you got to get in as many times as you can before it's out of theaters
because that is a movie and hugh jackman told us at the beginning this is to see in the theaters
yes it is okay and i love zach effron so yeah zaki zaki
zaki poohy i love all your nicknameet tommy oh yeah what's wrong of me i love it
Zaggy Poon, Tommy
Hugh Jackman, what's it?
Huey, Huey, Jackie.
Oh, okay, well, this has been a real treat.
I love it.
Yeah, we've learned a lot about ourselves.
We really have.
It's been like a very, um, inspiring podcast, like, for both of us.
Yeah.
Like, I'm like, I'm 32, but I learned a lot from you today.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And on that note, I'm going to tell you a terrible joke.
Okay.
Okay, okay, I'm ready.
And the award for Best Neckwear goes to,
oh, would you look at that?
It's a tie.
Did that land or?
You're funny.
I was really excited to tell that one.
I always need to look for approval.
That's what threes do, okay?
That's what threes do.
I need approval.
Somebody validate me quickly.
Tell me it was a good joke.
Okay, I need to be validated.
Thank you.
Everybody out in the room is giving me a thumbs up.
It was, yeah, it was good.
Because if that didn't land, I'd feel like a loser.
Oh, my God.
Danielle, tell everybody where we can find you, Instagram, Twitter, music-wise, everything.
I have a website, just danielbrowbray.com, and it shows all the websites on there, too.
Perfect.
Or the apps or whatever.
Whatever.
Just go.
Just go to that website.
You'll see what she's talking about.
Oh, that's so amazing.
I'm like, I'm like a kind of know you, but I feel so proud of you.
Oh, thank you.
You're doing good things.
Thank you.
And we will be dancing.
And everybody watch out for our next video.
Oh, my God.
It's going to be the best.
