Okay, listen up. If you love a good slow burn romance, and let's be real, who doesn't?
You need to check out the new Audible Original of Pride and Prejudice.
It's an intimate performance that literally makes you feel like you're right there,
swooning with Lizzie Bennett and Mr. Darcy.
Marisa Abella as Elizabeth and Harris Dickinson as Darcy, I'm obsessed.
So whether it is your first time with Jane Austen or your 50th,
this version is such a fresh, fun listen.
go to audible.ca slash jane austin to dive in so i'm kately bristow your session is now starting
all right now welcome all right you guys welcome to another episode of off the vine i'm your host
katelyn brisso today we have daniel cabral on the spicy jersey
new real housewife.
Again, I keep like not watching these shows
and then interviewing them and being like, I need to watch.
She is spicy and she has no fluff.
She just says what's on her mind and I love talking
her today. So you're, you born and raised
in Jersey? No, Staten Island, New York.
Oh, okay. Do you know about
Staten Island? No. So like every
top tier reality stars come
from Staten Island. Stop, give me names.
Dreda DeVanzo, Mike the situation.
You ever hear mob wives?
Yeah. That's about Staten Island.
Oh, Staten Island. Housewives.
that's pretty much the housewise is that island.
So how did you get involved in this franchise?
Oh, it's been a long time in this field, in this industry,
just trying to find my way.
Yeah.
And from meeting one casting agent throughout the years,
she's like, hey, I got a show for you.
I was like, oh, all right, whatever.
She's going to call you in December.
I'm like, okay.
And I hear that all the time, you know, but it's nothing.
Right.
So she's like, hey, I have this idea for a show for you.
They're looking for a young family.
Can we hop on a call tomorrow?
And we did, and she's like, it's housewives.
I was like, there's no way in hell that I'm a housewife.
It just, I just didn't, I didn't fit that stereotype of, you know, super wealthy, the rich husband, that cooks clean.
I just didn't fit that bill.
Right.
So I was like, all right, whatever.
Because it's appealing in a way, too.
Of course.
Right?
Like, if you're, I don't know how you kind of started, but, like, you know, joining a franchise like,
The Bachelor, it's like this overnight.
Yeah.
Every door you knocked on for all those years.
Yeah.
There you go.
Right.
Enter Caitlin Bristow.
Here's your shot.
And it's very quick.
Very quick.
Yeah.
Right.
So I was like, what's the, let's just go.
Yeah.
I mean, it's not going to happen, but let's go.
And then one call, one interview.
Send us a video of this.
Send us your kids.
Six months later, I didn't know this.
But when Bravo was like right there ready to cast their housewife,
they come to your house.
you host like a little lunch
and you have the big execs come to your house
and I knew these names
because these are names that I would email and say
hey I'm Danielle Cabral
can give me five minutes to your time
you're out there cold calling
you have no idea
yeah when it's in your bones
to do something that you just know
you will not be happy doing anything else in your life
you can't stop yeah I get that
and sometimes a dream is worse
than having a set occupation
because nothing else will fulfill that
That's true.
But usually those are the people that get it that dream that big.
Yep.
If you dream big, you may land on a star.
That's what I always say.
Yeah.
So I knew these names.
I'm like, holy shit.
What is life?
Like these people that I've looked up to that I've gotten all these emails that they're growing in their networks, they're going to come to my house.
I remember I set my dining room table.
I took all my fine china out.
I had all their initials on the plates.
Oh, cute.
I had a florist come.
This is the housewives.
Wow.
This is a housewife.
So I had a floral arrangement,
and I gifted them all with a fresh
mudsidel bowl.
That's like a thing in Jersey,
fresh mudsidel, you know?
Yeah.
And I just remember sitting there
with these big names
that I respected in the industry.
I'm like, what the fuck is going on right now?
You know?
Like, what?
Out of body experience?
Totally.
And I remember I sat,
they all left, and I thought I blew it
because I always get down to myself.
I'm like, that's it.
See it.
I've been there.
So, I've been there so many.
So many times.
Yeah.
And it was like, you're great, but we give it to the other kid.
Yeah.
And I sat there and I, you know, I waited for my husband to come home.
And I just, I was like deflated.
Like, you know, when you do something and then you just, you're exhausted.
I was going to say, you're like mentally drained as well.
Yeah, yeah.
I said, I don't know, hon.
Whatever happens happens.
Yeah.
And then I got the call that they wanted to move forward with me.
But they didn't know in what capacity.
So they brought three girls on.
we filmed for, I would say, a good halfway through the season before we got to know what
our roles were. So that day, I film everything. I don't know if you film a lot. I film,
I used to all the time, but I film and document everything in my life. So we were filming that
day and they were like, hey, we want to hop on a call with you. And we're all like,
who's it going to be? Who's the main? Who's the friend of? You know? And they got on
the screen and my heart, I couldn't, I don't even know, because at this point, cameras go up
and housewife's cameras, I'm sure you're very familiar with, I mean, your production was probably
was crazy, quadruple. It was crazy. But I had a small house in Sayerville. So when 30 people come to
your house, it's a big deal. Yeah, that is a big deal. I'm like, this is, this is cool. We really
haven't gotten into the muck of housewife craziness yet. So I was actually enjoying myself.
Yeah. So they're like, we want you to join the cast as a full time.
I'm housewife.
Wow.
And the crew was right outside the door, filming me.
Like, it was so beautiful.
They were, like, cheering and hugging me.
And it was a great day.
And do they air that?
No, that's a lot of fourth wall stuff.
Got it.
That stuff that I save for myself for when the day I really feel like I truly made it,
I can release it.
Cool to have.
I can release that.
Yeah.
And they said to me, and I'll never forget this,
and I just thanked all my production.
deuce is for a wonderful season, they said, we want to give you a seat at the table.
And it was like, my husband can actually say, we've gone through this together because when I met him
in Vegas, he's like, I'm going to help you make all your dreams come true.
We kind of did it together.
I know it sounds crazy to get on a reality show, like it's a dream, but.
No, I think it's, I think that's honest and refreshing because I'm like, a lot of people pretend
that they don't want to go on reality TV, but they secretly like have always dreamt of it.
And I think it's just, if that's your dream, that's awesome.
You got to do it.
Yeah.
I kind of relate.
We were just looking up your past because we fell in love with you on the Bachelorette.
Oh my gosh, cute.
And in a second, how your life could have went so different.
Yeah.
Right?
With, help me out with your co-star, that was between the two of you.
Oh, Britt.
Brit.
Yeah.
Right?
Like how could everything just change, but this is my path.
This is your path.
This is my journey.
I am to, you were saying when you came in that you have this vision manifesting
board that what it like has is tv on there like you what was Amanda because not skinny not
fat was on your vision board yeah yeah yeah and that that's funny that that's who i was interviewing
before you you come in and that's i believe that shit all the time i i everything that i have
put on a vision board i've i've gotten yeah yeah i want and i'm going to tell this to you because
it may resonate with you in your life right now when you feel like you're at the lowest you feel like
I say I suffer from
imposter syndrome. Of course. Me too. I'm like
I don't belong here. You know?
And then God does little things
like that. Yeah. To walk in
a room. It's a little wink. Yeah.
Because I'm still
very new. You know, you've been doing this
a long time. For me, everything
is still so, this is great.
This is amazing. And women
that I look up to, career-wise,
I walk in a freaking room and you're here.
You are so sweet. You got to accept.
those moments and say, all right, I see you. We're doing, I'm doing good. You're doing everything
you've wanted to do. Yeah. It's cool because I feel like people get to places in their lives where they
think, like, I always thought I was going to be a dancer and it didn't happen for me, but I'm like,
now here I am at 39, doing everything I've ever dreamt of doing. I'm like, oh, dancing just wasn't
the career path for me when I thought it. People think that you need to figure that out.
You won dancing with the freaking start. What are you talking about? Well, that was, that was another
full circle moment for me because I thought do you stop for a second and actually see the things you've
done I've been trying to a lot lately because my bless my dad he's the sweetest man that I've ever met
my whole life and he comes to visit me in Nashville all the time he was in Nashville and he goes first
of all I thought he was going to tell me he was dying the way he said it he was like can we sit down
and chat and I was like oh god I'm like what is wrong are you okay and he's like yeah I just want
to talk to you and he pulled me into my office and he went through everything that I have done in my
even before I was on the show just like and said like do you ever stop and think about all
these things you've done and I said this is the first time I've really like stopped and like named
them out and felt like proud of myself and he was like obviously I'm proud of you for all these
accomplishments but he's like the most thing the thing that I'm the most proud of is you're still
who you always have been to your core yeah and haven't lost it and I I wonder like how I think
I'm always aware of staying humble and being like grateful and I think a lot of times
I try to not think about how much I've done because I'm like, well, what's next?
Or like, what's the next thing?
You're never satisfied.
No.
And so I've been really trying lately to look back and just be really grateful and proud of all the things that I've done.
And so I feel like you're kind of in that right now.
You're like, oh my gosh, I'm at the place where I've wanted to be.
And you're still excited.
Emmy.
Ah, what?
I'm the beginning.
You're at a good place where you can say, check, check, check, check.
You are at the beginning.
I am at the beginning.
Still, I'm in the beginning, but there are moments
like imposter syndrome where even
you, right? And I wanted to have
this conversation off camera with you, but I guess we can have it
on the thing, that's what this thing is for, right?
Like, I guess
you can't let
and trust me, I get dark,
I get so down sometimes
where it's like, if it wasn't
for my husband, I'd be crying in a corner sometimes.
But for you, what I wanted to tell you
was that when you get in those moments,
right? When you just
saw your post the other day about
social media, this and that.
There are women like me that look at you and say, she's dope.
Like, there are women like me that look at your career and are like, keep going, Caitlin,
because I'm watching you.
I want to do that.
So get the out of that moment.
Seriously, have those moments, right, for 24 hours.
You could share it with us.
We accept your relatability.
right but get out of that moment because you don't belong there
for real you don't belong there you're so you're this is a cool moment for me to be here with you
so get out of those moments because you have accomplished amazing things thank you for saying that
you're welcome i feel like sometimes people in our industry need to hear that that's true
from someone else that's been in it you know that's true well even a man i tell her all the time i'm
like i just look up to you so much because she's just she has gotten successful from just being who
she truly is. And I think that's such a cool thing. And I feel like that's what you're doing as
well. Do you feel like you were portrayed the way you thought you would be on this show?
100%. You did. Okay, good. When people say a bad edit, no, check. You're just a bad person.
It's funny because I've seen things happen where I have seen in The Bachelor World where people do
get a bad edit, but they still are like saying these awful things, but it's, you know, editing.
That show may get bad edit, and I don't know, that maybe.
But that's what I'm saying.
I actually find that other shows, you really can't,
you just are filming so much.
And, like, you think, do people on Real Housewives try and say bad edits?
Of course.
Oh, they do.
It was a bad moment, you know, but Housewives is different because we're not filming 24-7.
It's a set time that we kind of show up and do our thing.
Yeah.
With the show you were on Bachelor, like, that chick that was in the bushes with a cantaloupe,
what the hell was she doing?
Obsess that you were.
or the Ashley S.
It was like pomegranate or something
and she thought it was an onion or vice versa.
I forget.
She knew.
You can't make an excuse for something like that.
I honestly shared a room with her
and was scared at night sometimes
because I was like, what's she doing on the top?
But that's her.
That's authentically the person she is.
There have been a couple little doozy bosses on that show
where that's who they are.
And they make great TV,
but you can't go and then complain and say,
the producers gave me a pomegranate
and said,
I fought. You can't do that. It's you. That's true. Well, you and your husband seem to be
fan favorites from this season. Yeah. Which is amazing. Go figure. See? I didn't think I would be good
on the show. And then that's your imposter syndrome. Totally. And it's probably because you do show up
authentically and you are who you are. But how did you two meet? In Las Vegas. Yeah. I heard you say that
and I'm like yeah. Tell me more. So how long ago? We married. No, we married 2012. We've been together 15, 16 years.
So I was out in Cali
Trying to make it back in the day
And went to Vegas for work
Remember the rehab party?
Oh, of course I do
I was selling tables for the rehab party
Hustling out there
He was there with his boys from Boston
And you know Hollywood boys
They're not like East Coast boys
So when I spotted all of him and his friends
I was like
East Coast men
Ding ding ding
And when I laid eyes on my husband
It was love at first sight
Really?
Is how I describe it.
Is how I describe it.
Do you remember Devin Sawa, Leonardo DiCaprio?
Okay.
Yeah.
Do you remember looking at them and fantasizing what it would be like, not sexually, because
we were really young, but to be married.
Yes.
Okay.
I had dreams about JTT.
Jonathan Taylor, Thomas, all growing up.
Yes.
Okay.
Same vibe.
Yeah.
So when I saw Nate, I was like, he is pretty.
Like, he is the prettiest guy ever seen in my life.
And I never dated pretty.
I dated rough, tough, bad boy that I had to save.
Yeah.
And we fell in love in Vegas, and we did long distance for eight months.
He moved to Cali for eight months.
And then I was up for a big show that I didn't get out in California.
His father got diagnosed with cancer.
Oh, I'm sorry.
So he said, I've got to go back, Danielle.
But if you come with me, I promise you I'll give you a good life.
Yeah.
I said, what are I going to do?
Stay out here in Hollywood, chase a dream, wait tables.
Right.
Or do I go with this amazing man and start a life?
Yeah.
And that's what I did.
And this is the way.
our life turned out today.
Wow.
So you were really grinding out in Hollywood
trying to do some things and going to Vegas.
But then really your path was to have a family,
meet the love of your life.
Yeah.
And then that stuff would happen.
But I met people out in California
that connected me to the show that I'm on now.
Yeah.
Because I would go into rooms
with my remote control as a microphone.
I would go into rooms that even if I didn't get the part,
they'd be like, that crazy New York chick.
You know, so people remembered me.
Yeah.
And then from there, just, hey, I got a show for you.
Yeah.
You come back on someone's mind.
That's true.
I think about that.
Like, when they picked me to go on The Bachelor, they had had me on file for over a year
because my girlfriend had sent something in and it just wasn't the right timing,
but they remembered my casting tape or something.
And it's true.
Like, you just never know who you're meeting, who you made a good impression with,
you maybe made a bad impression with, like, the, I just, you never know.
You never know.
I'll never forget someone telling me that they were on their way to an audition and they cut off somebody and it ended up being the person that was like the casting director and they like had it out at a red light and then they were going to see place now and then that's a great conversation piece like I would have taken that and ran with it in the audition room absolutely you know so you got to you got to do things that people remember you what did you do to make your husband remember you when you first met him what did you what was your first impression like what because you had love at first sight did you have love it for sight yeah
I said to him, I went to my girlfriend.
I was like, doesn't he look just like my ex-boyfriend, only Hada?
That was the line.
That was the line.
Yeah.
Well, I was also a little semi-popular because I did an MTV show back in the day called True Life.
Remember those shows?
No.
So MTV used to do these, like, mini documentaries where they would follow people with all different things.
True Life I have Tourette syndrome.
True Life I'm in debt.
True Life I'm Day.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
So I did a show called True Life.
I'm a Staten Island Girl.
And it was like the second highest rated True Life.
of all time and go figure.
This is before Jersey Shore.
Wow.
Before the world got to see people like me.
And his friends knew who I was.
No way.
You know, I was cool.
Oh, that's the chick from MTV.
Yeah.
You know, I had a little street cred.
Yeah, that's the swag right there.
That was the swag.
And now you've been married for that long
and you have two kids.
Two kids.
Seven and nine.
Seven and nine.
Oh, my God.
What are their names?
Valentina Loren Cabral and Dominic Thomas Cabral.
Oh, great names.
Oh, my God.
My daughter is me, but as a seven-year-old, which is a thing.
And my son's a sweet angel.
God bless.
He's too good for the world, which scares me.
That is scary.
Yeah.
That's what we need people like that.
I know, but like, his grown men, you know, looking at him, I'm like, oh, my God.
Girls are going to be.
He'll, something will happen.
You just got to live life to get there.
I want to give him a little bit of my toughness.
My daughter's the one that's got too much.
Like, I'm like, we can't even bring her to an MMA class.
She'll kill someone.
My son will come home from camp.
And he's like, this person was mean to me.
My daughter's got the bat ready to go out the door.
That's seven.
Yeah.
I wish I could meet her.
She sounds spicy.
Oh, yeah.
She's a thing.
Isn't that funny, though, like when the apple doesn't fall far, that's, I am my mom to a tea.
It's kind of scary sometimes.
Is your daughter straightforward like you as well?
Yes.
Yeah.
Do you feel like that has ever gotten you in trouble?
Or is it because you, I feel like people,
who grew up where you did,
they're all straightforward.
Is that just part of your lifestyle?
No, that's growing up where I'm from,
you need a tough skin.
Yeah.
Doesn't mean I didn't grow up like that.
Yeah, okay.
I was tortured in high school.
I got bullied.
No.
Oh, yeah.
I was, because I was a basketball player.
I was an athlete.
So I would hang with all the guys
and be with all the athletes
and some girls just didn't like that.
Yeah.
And I got bullied a lot.
Called me in names.
My car was keyed.
It was there.
until the day
until the day I realized that
I don't have to take it
and I could do something about it
would you do? Yeah I would get into
a lot of tussles
tassels, tussles in New York and Staten Island
and then I defended myself
but only when I had to you know
and then that made me tough. Yeah
that made me say okay I don't have to take it.
Yeah yeah strong yeah that's
and so off camera
I heard you say a couple hits were
no self-defense oh self-defense
So you had to pull out self-defense moves on the season.
This season, yeah.
Tell me more.
It was a very hard season for me because with the housewives,
you know, it's one thing to bring up stuff that's going on.
Your husband cheated on you.
And if he did, well, he did.
All right.
Well, you know, that's what happens on these shows.
If you have a past, then it's going to come out.
Right.
Any reality show.
Yes.
You sign up for it.
Yes.
Clean your slate because they're going to come for you.
Yeah.
But when manufactured lies are brought up.
Yeah.
or a story.
Yes.
You can't defend that because then it's out in the world
and no matter what you say,
people may think that about you, you know?
I think I came on to the show
and people were a little intimidated
because I didn't have the wealth and the power,
but I was still so loved
and they hated me for that, you know?
Kind of brought you probably back to high school days.
You're like, Caitlin, I say this all the time.
I cannot believe that grown women
still do this.
Act the way that I've acted.
You know, girls are.
I've acted in high school.
It's exactly what I've experienced.
So you feel like these women are bullies can be, yeah.
Yeah, in a way.
Sad.
Did you expect that going in because have you watched other seasons
and kind of were like, wow, this seems like kind of drama?
Or did you expect it or did you think it would be different?
I was old school jersey.
I love the first season.
I love the first few seasons where it was very Italian, very home family.
My mom was a fan of the show.
She knew all the players and was like, you know what you're doing?
I was like, Ma, no one's going to hate me.
Everybody's going to love me.
Everybody's one of my friends.
How can you hate me?
Yeah, yeah.
And then it didn't happen like that.
Well, you've got the toughest crowd to love you, and that's the internet.
Yeah.
No, yes and no, Keglin.
Oh, you get meanies on the internet, too, I'm sure.
Yeah, everybody does.
Yeah, that's true.
If you're somebody, you get meanies on it.
Actually, even if you're not somebody, there's just mean people on the internet.
Yeah.
You know what?
The saddest thing I experienced this year was getting hurt by people.
I championed and I loved and I had on my team and they try to hurt me.
And then once they hurt me and realized, oh, God, people care about me?
Yeah.
They kept going and going and going.
Who hurt you?
Let me hurt them.
Yeah, it's all right.
Good always wins and it comes back in ways that we don't even have to get our hands dirty.
So true.
You know?
Yeah.
So I think that was the hardest part of learning what being in the public eye is or I don't even say celebrity.
but that is that people can, they don't care.
Yeah.
They don't care that I did all this stuff for them.
They want to just use my name to get ahead.
Oh, I hate it so much.
Does that ever happen to you?
Yes.
Oh my gosh, yes.
See, because I would love to talk to somebody that's in the industry that has gone through
my husband and I have gone through this year.
It's really sad and it's something that I'm still trying to wrap my head around
because I'm the same like, I always want to champion other people and I always want to be like there for them.
and then I realize, oh, they don't feel the same way about me.
And it's a constant disappointment.
Constantly disappointed.
And I'm just like, okay, I need to not have expectations of people anymore.
But that's a sad realization.
Yep.
Yeah.
You're like, oh, that's sad.
You're not who you are.
The beauty of, I think, who we are is how, you know, outgoing.
And then you become sheltered.
Yeah.
And I think that's why now when I see celebrities and you think, oh, man, weird.
Yeah.
They're weird.
Yeah.
They're not weird.
They've been through the mutt, and they don't even want to talk to you or look at you.
I get it now.
I know.
I think about that with the Ellen DeGeneres stuff.
People are like, she doesn't even want to look at you in the eye.
And I was like, yeah, because she's probably been burned so many times in her life by people that she thinks she trusts.
And she just learned the hard way.
Okay, don't look at me anymore.
Yeah.
100% don't want to interact.
That's why everybody's got their publicist talking.
Because there's no human decency anymore.
It's really sad.
It is sad.
It is sad.
and I'm like, is it getting worse
or do we just see more of it
because of the internet?
No, what's getting worse
is that cancel culture thing.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's why everything is getting so worse
because if you say,
I'm sorry, I really don't want to take a picture,
you're labeled the worst person in the world.
Right.
While I got my two kids with me screaming,
you know, you have to figure out a balance here.
So that's, I think,
why everything gets so blown out of proportion.
And you're both on the show,
you and your husband.
Is it fun to do that together or is that hard?
No, that's the beauty of it.
Yeah.
And it makes it easier that he wants to do it.
How do you stay so in love?
Look at him.
That's the easy answer.
He is my number one fan, and I am the calm.
I'm the crazy and he's the calm.
I think if I married someone like me, I would have been divorced.
Oh, God, 20 years ago.
I could never marry someone like me.
Can't, can't.
But he walks me off the ledge every day.
Wow.
You know, like when you get down, when I get down, he's right there.
Yeah.
And it's a real great partnership and a love.
That's beautiful.
Yeah.
Don't ever settle unless you find that.
Every, you have to cross off everything.
Yeah.
Don't settle for anything less than that.
I wanted to know if there's any surprises along the way of filming a show like this where you're like,
Holy shit, that surprised me.
For the housewives, I guess first season in how aware the girls are when it comes to filming.
The reality shows that I would film before, it was cameras go up and they just stay up and you just do your thing.
Right.
You know.
Was this, do producers, like, feed you stuff or is it, like, more organic?
It's organic, but, you know, there's stories that we have to talk about.
So last week, someone said,
My husband cheated on me, and we're all like, oh, my God, that bread, can you pass it?
It looks so good.
And the cheese is so good.
They're like, talk about him cheating on you.
Right, right.
You know, they get to the part.
No one gives a shit about your cheeseboard.
That.
Yeah.
Because we have set times.
Yeah.
So solo scenes are usually two hours, three hours, and then all casts are a little bit longer.
Does Bravo help with hair and makeup and outfits, or do you guys all have to do that on your own?
No.
We have to do it all on our own.
You're kidding.
I swear to God.
Confessionals, we've got to get it approved.
big photo shoots
gotta get approved
I wish to God Bravo
would set me up
and I'd have to walk in
and get a...
Well, do you have a stylist
and makeup artist
or do you do it yourself?
Yeah, well I have people
that do my hair and makeup now
a stylist
everybody on the internet
wants me to get a stylist
Yeah.
Oh, they do?
Worstressed housewife in the world.
No!
Yeah.
Why would?
I love your outfit right now.
I do time.
I mean, thank you.
You know what?
I don't know
because I'm not dripped in Chanel and Dior
and all.
And I say,
Chanel and Deaure and everybody's like, that's an old designer.
Oh, I don't know shit.
It's all I know.
I literally wear like free people and do my own hair every day, as you can tell.
I like your hair.
That's cute.
But you have that look.
You have that like girl next door vibe, you know?
Housewife is different.
They expect you to roll up.
That's true.
You need to be derrithing.
Totally.
Like I wanted to come in kicks and whatever, but I was like, I'm a housewife.
I got to put heels on today.
Is that crazy to say, your housewife?
Sometimes.
Yeah.
Tell me about Rachel, what is it?
Fuda.
Buddha.
Yeah, so she came on with me.
She was the other cast member that made full time.
Yeah.
First year, we didn't hit it off too well.
This year, we became really good friends.
Oh, amazing.
Yeah, it's very nice.
What was the shift there?
We let the first year didn't, it didn't stick with us.
The issues that we had, we got over it and we moved forward.
And then we really got to enjoy each other and say like, hey, we're doing this together.
We're coming into this.
These benches are nuts.
Yeah.
You know, so we kind of bonded like that.
Yeah.
And, um, it was, it's really nice.
Yeah.
You know, next year we'll hate each other, probably.
But, you know, for right now, I'll, I really, we're in a good place.
We're in a great place.
Oh, that's nice.
Yeah.
I love that.
I always like a rekindle, whether it's romance or friendships.
Like, I like when people can get through their shit.
Yeah, agreed.
And Ashley's pregnant.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
And when she's 32.
30, yeah, she's young.
She's the skinniest pregnant.
Really?
Oh, God.
She's early on.
I hope she blows up like a house, but.
she's so skinny
no I wish I'm the best
pregnant
I joke with her
so I could say that
yeah no you're allowed
hey friends are allowed
to joke about that kind of stuff
and then so before housewives
I know you said you were doing
that other reality
MTV show but what was something
about looking for Britney Spears biggest fan
oh that was the best experience
of my life
what tell me about this
I was 16 MTV put out a casting call
to win Britney's number one fan
yeah this is Britney era
like quintessential Britney.
And they were like, okay,
the audition process was,
tell us why her you're a moment of a fan,
you're going to perform, whatever.
So I made a wrap up.
And they cast me.
It was me and two other people.
And we went right here in Times Square
and I performed on stage
with Carson Daly and Britney Spears.
No way.
Performed a rap.
I have a backwards cap
and I'm rapping like Punky Brusa
and Britney's sitting right there.
Shut up.
And I won.
I won her official number one fan.
Cool.
Yeah.
Best moment. Beats housewise, beats everything I ever did in my career. That was the best.
Wait, that is really cool. So you got to meet her.
Yeah. Well, for a split second.
Oh. They told me I was supposed to stay on stage and do like a contest with her mother and
Felicia. Yeah.
Her assistant. But they cut segment.
Damn.
So I got right. I didn't even get a picture because we didn't have catacos back then.
Oh, how terrible. I know. But there's video footage.
I got a grainy. I got a grainy video of me and Brittany on stage.
Oh my gosh. Are you worried about her now?
This goes back to what we's talked about.
about can you imagine the shit she had to go through no especially because they probably well
no they did medicate her so like what people have done to her is yeah should be they should all be
in jail I want to sit in a room and I want to drink with her me too and I want to hug her and say
you're the best I want to hug her so bad so bad yeah I too was I should have been on that show
I was on brittany spears.com once for being a huge fan and I was on my local news channel in edmonton
Alberta in Canada. It said Caitlin Bristow, Brittany fan. I wore like a fedora and I had a snake around
my neck like a fake one. What? You were. Favorite tour. What's your favorite tour? Circus.
What? Dream within a dream. Oh. Dream within a dream was the best tour.
Circus was not even Britney era. Wait, I didn't know that one. No, I'm not as big as you. You're the
number one. I'm old you. I'm 39. 39 next week. Oh, really? Wait. Happy birthday.
You don't go dream within a dream. Yes, you do. What was the song? What was the song? Stronger.
Oops, I did it again.
Oh, like the, okay, yes.
When she comes down and she sings baby one time, all wet in the cowboy outfit.
Yes.
Okay, that's a dream within a dream.
Okay, yeah.
I just went, I didn't go to that one.
I went to the circus tour.
And so I loved it.
I actually didn't go to circus.
Oh, it was amazing.
Actually, she was in, I went twice, once in Edmonton,
and then I went once when she was in Vancouver.
And she stopped the show and went into her dressing room until people stopped smoking weed
because she said it was affecting her singing.
And I'm like, honey, your lip singing.
But, yeah, she said it was affecting her.
Well, I just walked down Canal Street and got high.
So to HUD's offense, I mean.
Well, and she's dancing like a performing.
Yeah.
Brittany can do no wrong in my eyes.
I was like, oh, wait as long as you need Britney.
I know, I wanted to just stay like that in my mind.
I know.
I knew stuff.
It really, it really is.
But that's crazy.
You are literally coined the Britney Spears number one fan and he won.
Let's manifest that.
That's cool.
Okay.
Let's manifest being a silly.
her number one fan and being
meeting her room with her and drinking
and drinking and having a really big
long hug that's I feel like that's
that might cure her that might cure her we can do it
we have the power let's put it on our vision boards
because I'm into that so being on TV was like
your ultimate goal what would have been like your dream
role if it wasn't housewise
oh um a really respectful
motion picture scripted sitcom
oh yeah that would have been
I would have been great at that.
So did you do acting lessons ever?
I have a degree.
I went to school in Boston to try to, you know, get a theater education.
Theater I love.
But I just knew my personality would get me in the door to people.
Yeah.
You know?
Hollywood is the goal.
But like it's so like annoying when a housewife is like, I don't want to be a movie star.
I was like, shut up.
Hey, but if you did want to see.
I'll keep that to myself until I could prove that I could do that, you know?
That's true.
I like that it doesn't matter what age you are to like you can get your start at any time like
Yeah I saw this girl I forget who it was this woman being interviewed and she was like you know like
If it doesn't happen in your 20s it could have me your 30s if it doesn't happen your 30s
No that's a famous quote oh really that's a really famous quote actually it's that's very true though
But it is and I remember like there's like this famous artist who she got famous in her 80s like you you just you're just getting started at 30 almost 39
Yeah so exciting I know I know listen I take everything as a win
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be
Right now
You really are
I love that feeling too
Like when you feel like things are aligned
And you're where you're supposed to be
Yeah
But it lasts for a little bit
What do you mean?
Like that feeling doesn't last a long time for me
Oh I see what you're saying
It's like fleeting
And then you can go through phases
Where you're like oh wait no I am
Where I'm supposed to be
Right now I'm like life's great Kalin
I'm where I'm supposed to be
And then tomorrow I could see something
I go through something
And I'm like
You're me
I'm the worst
This is I'm not
Like he has my husband
I'm nowhere we're I'm supposed to be, Nate.
Like, so.
But maybe that's what keeps the fire on our ass, you know, to keep going.
Okay, so if there was, because I haven't watched the franchise, and I swear to you, I'm going to because you've convinced me.
It's good TV.
Well, yeah.
I would just watch it.
Because it's like, but like watch Jersey.
I'm going to.
I swear to you, I'm going to.
I'm actually going to download a couple episodes for the drive so I can.
and listen even.
Like I would do this.
Google my name first.
Yeah.
Watch that scene and then get excited to watch the.
Okay.
What will I see?
If I Google your name and watch, what am I going to see?
You're going to see that one C whereas I have self-defense.
What is the self-defense?
Is it like a p-too in the throat or is it like a bam?
No, it was a altercation where someone put their hands on me first and I had a reaction,
but the reaction was a very good reaction.
I guess wait.
You're going to like jersey.
That fires me.
Yeah, you're going to like Jersey.
But if an alien came down from wherever they are
and said, explain to me what this season is like
and who you are and why I should watch.
I don't know why I'm calling it an alien.
It's me.
It's me.
I want to know.
How would you describe it?
Okay.
So you ever see those videos where you're like in a lake
and you're like, what's underneath that lake?
And then someone throws a steak
and you see a thousand alligators pop up and kill each other.
get the steak that's that's new jersey housewives that must be stressful like yeah how do you sleep at
night are you like just running through everything that happened in your days yeah a hundred percent yeah
i don't see by anxiety and it's not a three-month job you're riddled with that anxiety and are you locked in
for a few seasons too no oh that's the thing about housewives like you're oh you never know what you're
when your job is up so like you do you do a season they're like thank you and then you're like okay and you don't
if you come back.
This season, they're changing the whole cast around.
Oh, they are?
Yeah.
To who?
We don't know.
No one knows anything, but some people are going.
And, you know, for the women that have been on there a really long time, that's a whole life change.
Would you want to do another season?
You know, that's a loaded question.
Yeah.
That's a very loaded question.
I don't know if I could handle another season with what I went through this year with certain people.
Yeah.
But if we can get back to the jersey that I love, I could do that all day.
Maybe they need a whole new cast and then just.
bring you back and then see what happens.
But is it housewives, if it's not drama and catty?
Oh, cat draw, cat, cat, I could do all day.
Oh.
Evil and twisted and trying to ruin my name and my brand and my children's future.
I don't sign up for that, man.
You know what I mean?
Like, that's different.
Yeah, that's dark.
Way dark.
That's the problem with my show this season.
Okay.
So if you could have it your way, what would a season look like?
Fun over the top parties, getting drunk, being silly with these girls,
doing funny shit, riding horses, you know, I don't know.
And then talk about crazy stupid things.
Yeah.
You know, I don't know.
That's fair.
Crazy things.
Maybe you need to just create your own show.
That's on the board too.
I was going to say, so what, like, what are you looking forward to the most and what are your goals now?
Because now you've done the housewives.
You don't know what another season would look like.
Like what, because didn't you have a clothing?
So I was just going to say, yeah.
So I own bouchy kids, which is a children's clothing company.
Yeah.
So my goal is to get that into my, I don't know about you, but my mom is a Marshall's T.J. Max shopper. I grew up in Marshalls and T.J. Max. We didn't have that in Canada, unfortunately. But I get what you're saying, yeah. Oh, well, it's like the, it's just the best spot. Yeah. It's very, it's different than what you would imagine, like, you know, housewife to want to get into. But that's my, always been my dream. And I would love to get, to be the only, like, designated name that has an actual line in these stores. Yeah. And I have the
Uji Mama, home goods, you know, to do that and create something crazy from this.
Do good.
Continue to do good to people and foundations and show my children the good.
And provide laughs, entertainment, and do fun stuff like Dancing with the Stars.
And like, oh my God, you should go.
I'm Dancing with the Stars.
That's on the board, too.
Okay, so on the board, create your own show, your clothing line to be in stores.
What else I have on there?
W.W.E.
WWE.
W.W. Yes.
Meet Pauly D.
I know he hates that.
Meet Polly D.
Have you not met Polly D?
I have not.
I have not.
I have not.
I'm friends with some people on that show.
But I won't ask them.
It's got to be an organic moment.
I feel that.
I feel that.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Because then what are they going to do?
Are you kidding?
Hold on.
Let me call him.
And then that's not a moment for me.
Like you before, that was a moment.
I'll never forget that.
That was cool.
Don't put him on the phone.
boy you don't know that yeah yeah yeah that's fair um start a foundation my own foundation
the vmAs oh i am like vm tv reality stuff all these years and i've yet to go to the vmase
have you ever gone um what did i think about it i actually what the hell i actually was thinking
it was the billboard awards that i went to vmas no i don't think i've been to them yeah i want to go
to that so bad well i think you look if it's on your vision board i truly believe you
you are one of those people that
you're one of those like I'm going to do it
I'm going to dream it and I'm going to do it
or die trying or die trying
I feel like I'm the same way
and do you drink wine
oh but I'll drink yours
Caitlin yeah I was gonna say well I'm gonna send you a bottle
but you don't you can share it with
the housewives I know I have a really great group
of girlfriends there's seven of us okay okay I live in my
neighborhood and we all get together and drink
and have cigarettes on the stoop
Is it so crazy for them to see you on Real House?
Wild, it is.
It's wild.
Do you like viewing parties with them?
Yes, so we had, this season was different than the first one.
We had a viewing for that episode when I have self-defense.
Yeah.
And we just watched the reunion together.
And they're on every, like, blog looking out for me on stuff, but they'll only tell me
stuff that's, like, really important.
Oh, that's nice.
Yeah.
I like that.
I feel like my assistant and my podcast producer, they kind of do that.
kind of work like they'll go looking but they're not going to come back and be like people are
saying this about you yeah you can make me cry they'll be like people really liked this episode
and like tell me the encouraging stuff where if there's constructive criticism they'll like slide it
into our meeting instead of like being like a troll said this on the internet like yeah that's not
necessary no it's it's really not necessary i already read enough of that anyways um level-headed
level-headed women don't think like those people just so you know yes that's not it this is your
follower right here.
Yeah.
Talk to this kind of person, not those.
Remember that.
I do.
I've, yeah, I feel like I'm in a good place with that because I also think I've been ignoring
it and now it's not as much.
And I'm like, oh, there you go.
Good.
Yeah.
I'm not feeding into it.
Oh, confessions.
Did you have something prepared for an embarrassing story?
Okay, yeah, so this is a good one.
Yes.
You know, BravoCon?
Yeah.
So my first bravo con ever.
Yeah.
It was the first time I was like going to be around other housewives.
I put on this really cute, black, sparkly dress, black gloves,
all rhinestone and bedazzles everywhere.
We're walking full glam.
One of the, right here, literally right here,
one of the rhinestones pops off,
and it's on the string, so it's flapping like this.
Me and my husband, we go, we run to the makeup place,
and we have eyelash glue.
Yeah, eyelash glue.
Now, I'm doing this big appearance with,
who was there, Kylie, Kyle Richards.
You don't know any of these names.
I actually, I know that name, yeah.
And then the most housewifie of housewives ever.
Larissa, Larissa from Miami.
You know who she is?
She was with Jordan's son.
Don't know who that is.
Like, if you could envision a housewife,
these are the housewives right now.
I'm like, my eyelash clue.
And they're like, oh, hi, you're from Jersey, right?
You're the new one.
I'm like, yeah.
They're like, this is so nice.
what is that Dior?
Oh,
what?
Because it looked like a
Fyre dress.
Yeah.
And I was like,
eh,
no,
I had no idea.
They're like,
this is the new Dior.
I love it.
Was not Dior.
Oh my gosh.
Jokes on them.
Jokes on them.
I was like,
yes.
Yeah, it's Dior.
And I wanted to die.
I wanted the floor
to open up
and me to jump right in it.
That was really
the one of the most
embarrassing moments.
That's pretty good though.
One,
that's a funny story,
but two,
that's not that embarrassing.
Kind of.
Well, for you,
but like,
to me,
day. Yeah, but you're not around these women. That's true. Where you already feel like I don't belong. One
of these things is not like the other. It's me. I would want to be, I like being unique though. I'd be
like, I am that one. I'm like, I would be the one eyelash gluing rhinestones back onto a dress.
And I would gravitate towards you. I'd be like, hey, be my friend. We're the same. I'll never
forget. I got put on like the worst dress list at the CMA fest, red carpet. And they were like,
what are you wearing? And I was like, I don't know. I was in my closet. And everyone was like, what?
And I was like, is that weird?
Like, I had no idea that it was weird.
It was literally a dress I had already worn on The Bachelor.
I had worn on vacation.
And then I was wearing it on it because I was like,
good for you.
I was like, I have a dry cleaner and I washed it.
What do you mean?
Good for you.
Now I'm like, oh, it's a whole thing.
It's a whole thing, especially I can't imagine for a real housewife.
Oh, yeah.
And if my last question is if there's anything that you feel like,
like what's a misunderstood part of you where you're like people think this,
but it's actually this.
When people want to call me thirsty and attention seeker and just wanting to be, you know, in the spotlight, there is no different from a doctor going to learn in medical school or a lawyer going to law school.
I just love to entertain.
Yeah.
So when I do think it's not because I'm thirsty, it's because I genuinely enjoy doing it.
Yeah.
So let me live.
Yeah.
That's how we're ending the interview.
That's so good.
I agree.
Right.
What's the difference?
Because I, you know, there are thirsty people out there, but there's a difference to
Totally.
There's a difference.
You have a, like, you almost have like this, a dream like that you're, you're a born performer.
You're an entertainer.
You know you're, you've got the personality for it.
You're, this is something that you want.
It's not like, not the wrong with that either.
For attention.
And even if you were, who cares?
But yeah, but I'm not doing it in a bad way.
I'm not like stepping on people to.
get there. I'm just like living my life making videos with my kids, you know, and it's what makes
us happy. Yeah. I love it. I love it. You're, I, you are just a ball of, um, like, energy and fun and
sweetness. Like, you know, there's like, like the Jersey housewives is supposed to be like
rough and tough. You have that, but you're also soft and sweet. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm very soft.
Yeah. But there's that fine line where I feel like you're taking advantage of me and that's when
that other side comes down. Yeah. But I hate that other side. I know. I know. I know. I'm
But you don't strike me as someone I'd ever want to disappoint.
I agree with you.
Yeah.
I love that.
So where can people find you?
So my Instagram is Danielle Cabral official and then bougieKids.com.
But the J.
I was going to say, how do you spell bougie?
So it's B-O-U-J-I-E-K-I-D-Z.
Oh, cute.
Okay.
Amazing.
I love that.
Well, thank you so much for coming on today.
Thank you for having me.
