Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe - David Anthony: Level up with hypnosis

Episode Date: November 30, 2021

Kaitlyn put out into the world that she wanted to be hypnotized and within days there was a hypnotist arriving for an in-person studio recording getting hypnotized right here on Off the Vine.... Talk about manifesting! Vino/fan favorite hypnotist, David Anthony, joins Kaitlyn to talk about the power behind hypnosis for not only entertainment, but also healing, growth and leveling up. David talks about tapping into your subconscious Inception-style, to change the way you deal with stress whether that be distracting, blaming, placating or computing (not good ways) and plants a seed making Kaitlyn question if she truly faked her highschool hypnotized experience or not. Kaitlyn discovers what it takes to become a hypnotherapist, that David hypnotized his wife to marry him and that the most fun part about hypnotizing people on stage is that you simply never know what is going to happen. Kaitlyn experiences some crazy hypnosis and David wraps things up with a couple of card tricks that have Kaitlyn speechless. But of course Kaitlyn brings the typical KB factor when she does her own magic trick and completely surprises David. Hey everybody, you're listening to Caitlin Bristow's podcast, Off the Vine. Take it away, Bree. Wine. Lots of wine.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Hey, be on the mic, turn it up. Let's go. Hey, ramen. Pino, ready for the show. Everyone's welcome. So come on in because OTV, it's about to begin. Hey. Welcome to Off the Vine.
Starting point is 00:03:42 I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow, and I felt like the podcast needed a little magic to happen in the form of hypnosis. So I have felt called to be hypnotized. for who the heck knows what reason. I really just want to say I did it. Mainly for entertainment purposes to see if I actually could be hypnotized, but also for some stress and anxiety relief, as I'm sure that this method could help you too.
Starting point is 00:04:04 So all of you by-nows recommended David Anthony and the stars aligned within a couple of weeks, and somehow he ended up here with me in person in Nashville to do this podcast. It was so amazing, better than I thought it was going to be, and now I have to figure out how to do this again with him sometimes. Okay, please enjoy it. interview with David Anthony.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Okay, I said when you walked in, I am so freaking nervous. And you know what's funny is sometimes I get nervous, like, for certain guests. I'm more nervous for myself, like, to make an ass of myself while being hypnotized. But also, I'm okay with being embarrassed. So I feel like there's a win-win here. Absolutely. And I promise I won't embarrass you. And when you're hypnotized, you're in control the whole time.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Oh, okay. Okay, I have so many questions to get into. That spire away. Okay, so I went on my Off the Vine stories. I told my listeners that I wanted to get hypnotized and asked them to recommend their favorite hypnotists. And you were mentioned the most by a landslide. Oh, that's so sweet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Thank you for saying that. First of all, just tell me how in the world one becomes a hypnotist. Like, were you told you have a hypnotic voice and then you're just making people feel relaxed? You realize you had a gift? No, I got a magic kit when I, so I started doing magic. And I still perform magic Across the country And I got a magic kit when I was
Starting point is 00:05:24 Seven years old Yeah Everyone does Yes I did too Exactly And I did my first show When I was 12 Yeah
Starting point is 00:05:30 And it grew from there I started traveling competing with magic And touring across the country And then I got trained By Las Vegas hypnotist years ago And because at that point He said he said
Starting point is 00:05:40 He's like you know You'd make a great hypnotist too And so I got trained And here we are today So now I travel across the country Doing magic and hypnosis And sawing people in half My Flip disappear
Starting point is 00:05:50 Do you really do that, cut people in half? And I guess you can't tell me how. On the magic side. On the magic side, not the hypnosis side, of course. Just to clarify, yes. As if you weren't nervous before. Yeah, now I'm real nervous. But cutting people, you obviously can't tell the trick behind that because that would ruin the magic. It ruins it.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Yeah. And no one wants to know, to be honest. Oh. You know, when you're, well, they do, but they don't. Yeah. You know, when you're a kid and you see snow for the first time, you wonder, you're like, oh, my gosh. Or when you see something you don't understand.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Yeah. That's a great sense of wonder. As adults, we don't get that as often. So as a magician, thankfully, I'm able to do that for people, you know? Yeah. That's, I love that you do both. My fiancé's brother is really into magic. He used to be in, he used to perform as a magician.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Yes, yes, he did. Oh, my gosh. And Jason, my fiance actually interviewed today, Millionaire Magician. Have you heard of this person? Name kind of sounds familiar. Yeah, I didn't know. I didn't know either, but he was not a small world. It is a small world.
Starting point is 00:06:53 I was like, wait, I'm getting hypnotized by a magician today. That's what that just seems to me like the universe working. Yes, that's it. It was meant to be. It means I'm supposed to. Exactly. Is there a form of education you need to become a hypnotist? Yeah, or a magician, I guess, but or is it just being trained by somebody?
Starting point is 00:07:11 A lot of it is being trained by someone, especially in the hypnosis side. So when I was trained on stage, because I do stage shows across the country. Yeah. and make people forget their name, lose their belly button, and do all that fun stuff. Oh, okay, good. Yes, I post tons of videos and all that good stuff. So I got trained in stage hypnosis and the safety and the way, why we do certain things. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:33 And then I got trained on the consulting side of hypnosis for weight loss, smoking, motivation, stress, and all that as well. I was going to say, because there's two, I feel like there's two forms of hypnosis where you can do funny things or make, like you said, make people forget. or lose their belly button. And then there's ones to do where to help people quit smoking. And I was want to do that my sister is trying to quit smoking. And I want to get her hypnotized so badly. It works. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:01 It does work, especially if the person wants to quit smoking. Yes. You know. So how do you do that? Is it just like, okay, my fiance has a fear of needles really badly. He did one session of somebody who does this hypnosis. And he really wasn't even able to talk about needles before. but it was a very small step, but then he started to be able to talk about it.
Starting point is 00:08:21 And he's like, wow. Yeah, he's still terrified. So the needle, that's fascinating itself. Yeah. So it was really interesting. Like, how do you get into somebody's brain? I don't know if you can even tell me that. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:08:33 So that's rewind a little bit and talk about what hypnosis is. Okay. Because I think that's, yes. That helps, you know. So hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation. When people are in that deep state of relaxation, they're open to my suggestion. Because I'm hitting their subconscious mind, especially. in the consulting and for weight loss smoking and all that stuff on stage, same concept.
Starting point is 00:08:53 They're in a deep state of relaxation. When I say they can't remember their name, they know what their name is for some reason. They just can't say it. So, yeah, so that's what hypnosis is. Some of the misconceptions of hypnosis is I'm in control the whole time, meaning the hypnotist. Yes. When you're hypnotized, you're aware of everything that's going on. And you could hear everything that's going on at all times.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Okay. You know, let's see another misconception is that, well, everyone's, could get hypnotized. Okay. Sometimes it just takes longer for some people than others. Right. And one of those things is you have to be able to focus it on my voice. You know, so some people think you've got to be pretty dumb in order to be hittentized.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Right. It's truly just the opposite. The more intelligent you are, the more you're able to focus it on my voice and the deeper in the trance, you'll go. Wow. Do you ever go on dates and like on your first date, you just like start talking in your voice and get them to, does everybody ask you that? I feel like everybody asks you that. I feel like that's how I got my wife to marry me.
Starting point is 00:09:50 There you go. Was just hypnotizing her. There you go. See? And even on stage, like, she's backstage. Yeah. She has to turn away during what's called the induction process. When I take people from that normal state into the hypnotic state, she kind of has to turn away because she'll drop down.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Oh, my gosh. So, like, what are you tapping into? Are you like, like I know you said they have to be so relaxed that they just take your suggestions? Are you pretty much distracting their conscious mind and like tapping into the subconscious? Like, what's that movie? Inception? Is it some inception? Inception? I think Get Out is another hypnosis movie, right? But yes. So I am attacking, not attacking. I am a bad choice in words. I am tapping into, there we go, these subconscious mind. And as far as like quitting smoking, you know, it's, well, we do various things to help quit smoking. And we could even talk about
Starting point is 00:10:43 different stresses in our life and how we deal with that. Because that's a main thing. Right. of what we tackle, if it's smoking, weight loss, whatever it is. But when we tap into that subconscious mind, we then give them options to not smoke, right? There's no need for smoking, and that's what we're hitting. Wow. Does that make sense? Yeah, it does. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:00 Because I wanted to, I've always wanted to get hypnotized to not be afraid of birds. Interesting. I'm terrified of birds. And you're talking to a magician who, like, you know, doves. If you brought a bird today, I'm going to shit my pants. No, there's not. I'll keep the bird in my jacket. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Gosh. I'm literally terrified. You're going to pull out a bird. And then I also have a fear of throwing up, which I think a lot of people do, but like it's crippling. Okay. And then I have, I suffer from like hormonal depression and anxiety. And it's literally just in the hormonal time in my month. And I don't know if that's something or if that's just the human body. It could be a little bit of both. Yeah. You know, but, but there's one thing, there's a few things that we could do to help out when you're feeling stress or when you're feeling that, you know, sense of what anxiety or people always say, it's my stress. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:52 We have to reframe that mindset. Yeah. Because it's not my stress. Okay. When you say my, it gives possession to it like a, like one of your dogs, right? Right. That's your dog. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:01 My dog. But when we give possession to my stress, we want to hold it and we want to pet it and we want to take care of it. As opposed to just stress or that feeling of stress, we can let go of that anytime. And when I say stress, I mean if you want to quit smoking, if you want to lose weight, if you want to help with not being afraid of throwing up. Not that that's a terrible thing, but... What if I get pregnant and I have to deal with that every day?
Starting point is 00:12:26 That could be an issue. Right. Yeah. But we could help that. Yeah. And so there's four ways we deal with stress. Okay. We distract, we blame, we placate, and we compute, right?
Starting point is 00:12:37 Four not good ways of dealing with stress. Right. And once again, when I say stress, it could... I mean a bunch of different things. There's one way we should do well stress. And it's called leveling, leveling up. And it's, yes, there's a problem and I'll handle it. Right?
Starting point is 00:12:51 Because if we distract, we don't realize that there's a problem. If we blame, we're not addressing that problem. But when we level, we see there's a problem. And then we could take care of it. Because it's just a problem that we could take care of. So like in relationships, say two people are having like problems. They go to therapy. And...
Starting point is 00:13:12 they need help with that exactly leveling up and not blaming or you know i'm just always thinking about basically past relationships at this point but like could you do a couple's therapy session of hypnosis oh boy that like that's really leveling up that that might be the therapist but you know the good part is if they're already seeing someone they realize that there's an issue yeah it's when they're they don't see someone yeah and they keep blaming or they keep placating which and placating is, you know, saying to the other person, whatever you want, I'm here for you. The problem with that is, is that we start giving from an empty well because there's nothing, we're not good, you know? So if I give from an empty well, I start throwing mud at the other person.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Yeah. And then we get angry at the other person. And then it just snowballs from there. That's true. You know, so by going to therapy already, I guess they're recognizing the problem and taking those steps and solving it. Right. That's why when people come to me for smoking or weight loss, Yeah. It's pretty much easy from there out. Right. I don't want to say easy. There is some work involved, but they want to take that step.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Yeah. You know, and if they want to take that step, they're able to. This episode of Off the Vine is brought to you by Intuit. The company powering products like TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mint, and Credit Karma. Intuit works for what you work for, and their product, QuickBooks, keeping things simple and is great for managing my small business finances, to be honest. So when you go and do these shows on stage and do you just pick random people from the audience who want to do it? Yes. So about six, seven minutes into the show after I explain what hypnosis is and that we get
Starting point is 00:17:32 hypnotized on a daily basis without even realizing it, I say, if you want to volunteer, come on up on stage and become the star of the show, because they are the stars of the show. Right. You know, by the end, they're getting all the applause. I'm just, I'm like the host that just walks them through it. Right. Do you have to have, like, a certain voice tone to do it? Like, what makes you be able to hypnotize people?
Starting point is 00:17:56 I guess that's how, that helps, you know, I guess if I didn't, if I had like a, I don't know, I don't know how my voice is, to be honest, but. It's very hypnotic. Is that correct? That was good. Yeah, okay. Well, I'm glad. But, you know, I guess if I was up here and meaning like high voice or intense the whole time, you can't relax if I'm yelling at you. You know, so I have to almost match your pacing and then I'm able to lead you. But that's in anything, in business, in relationships, and talking with people. Yeah. If you're on a different pace than them talking, they're going to not butt heads, but you're not going to get along. Yeah. If you match and then you could easily start guiding them. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:18:37 There's a lot of psychology, I guess. Of course. I mean, there has to be. How long have you been doing this? Oh, so I did my first show when I was, magic show when I was 12. Whoa. So I'm 29 now. So a long time.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Yeah. And then I got trained in hypnosis on stage hypnosis. I want to say like 2015 or so. Wow. Right around there. Would you like better? Do you have a preference? I don't.
Starting point is 00:18:58 No. They're so different. Yeah. You know, magic is great because we talked about that wonder before. Yeah. And it's fantastic doing that for people. and seeing those reactions. So that's always fun.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Yeah. And like the theatrical side of magic, I love. You know, the dance, the choreography, the lights, and the, that's fun. Hypnosis is fun because you never know what to expect up on stage. Right. Which could be like great or terrifying all at once. Yeah. Can you quickly snap someone out of it if they are scaring you?
Starting point is 00:19:28 Yes. So I'm glad you brought that up because that's like another misconception. Is that you could get stuck in hypnosis. and that's not true at all. You could come out at any time. In fact, what happens is people come in and out of hypnosis all the time. You know, especially on stage or throughout life, when you dayduring, you're kind of in that hypnotic state, you know, or if you ever driven home for work or something and you got
Starting point is 00:19:52 to your driveway and you're like, I don't remember turning down that street or stopping at that stop sign, that's like highway hypnosis. So no one could get stuck in it. On stage people, there's seven, what I call seven level. of hypnosis. Some people are in levels one or two. Some go down to like five and six and are laying on the ground asleep. Not asleep, but out hypnotized. Wow. Have you ever had someone fake it because I did that when I was 18? So, okay, where did you see a hypothesis? So this is, I guess this could be my confession, but I was 18 years old and I was in Edmonton, Alberta,
Starting point is 00:20:28 in Canada. Okay. And it was like, they call it the Klondike days. It's pretty much like a festival. And the Clondack days. Yes. And it was like the ice cream? No, but. Okay. All right. I don't know even how to explain it.
Starting point is 00:20:42 I should probably know this because it's where I'm from. But it's like a fair. You know, there's like Ferris wheels and there's adult shows and there's stuff with the kids. And they were doing an over 18 show. And my girlfriend, Bree, and I went and we were like, we have to get hypnotized. But I think we like wanted it to be funny so badly that we went up there and we just faked the whole thing. Can you tell when someone's faking it? I can.
Starting point is 00:21:07 Yeah. And most of the time, so I'll start off with like 20 and 25 up on stage. Yeah. And I narrow it down to my best like 12 people or so for a couple of reasons. Number one, I want to be able to focus on the volunteers up on stage. And if I have 20, sometimes it's hard to narrow it down to, you know, have fun with a few. You know, another thing that I do is if people are faking it per se, you could tell right away just by how relaxed they are or. the movie before I said how relaxed they are not right you know and then I want expressive people up
Starting point is 00:21:38 there too yeah so in my show if I say you're playing an instrument yeah if a person is just moving their hands or wrists ever so slightly playing the drums I'll ask them to leave but if I have someone bobbing their head and like wailing their arms up and around yeah I'll keep them up there yeah because that's what's going to be the fun part that's true that's a whole performance yeah so you think you were you were faking it you think well maybe I wasn't yes so yeah so so that was my other question because I get a lot of people up there saying I wasn't hypnotized and I'm like oh yes you were like and I could definitely tell a big difference because let's say I have someone forget their name yeah right they know what their name is yeah for some reason they just can't say it right
Starting point is 00:22:22 you know or they think that they're not they're not saying it because they're following along and playing into it that's you know gosh it was so long ago I was 18 of 36 now I'm like I can't remember, but I thought I was faking it. Maybe I was not. Maybe you were. Where's your friend Brie up there as well? Yeah. Okay. Most her experience. She said she faked it too. Yeah. Interesting. Like I said, I can't, I didn't see it, of course. So it wasn't me up there hypnotizing you. So I don't know. Yeah. I'm curious. Now I'm going to go back and talk to her and ask like, were we or were we faking it? I don't know because we really went along with it. And then, but we were also 18 and just being dumb so I don't know yeah you know and and at that age hypnotizing college students
Starting point is 00:23:07 or you know seniors in high school and stuff about 18 months yeah very easy really it is it is you know because because they want to have a good time yeah they're able to focus in on my voice really good yeah and we'll have we'll have people laying you know on each other in like a minute and a half two minutes wow because I feel like also people who are really faking it they'd start laughing. Yes. And okay, that's a very good point too. Not a lot of people are good actors. Yeah. You know, so in order to like really fake it, you have to be one heck of an actor. That's true. You know? So when they're up on stage and I could tell that they're like not doing what they're supposed to in a sense, you know, or acting, for example, right? I had this one gentleman not
Starting point is 00:23:53 too long ago on stage. Yeah. And I could tell that he was, he wasn't faking as much. He wanted to be the center of attention because he kept doing things that I was telling the other people to do, you know, and I just knew that, okay, he's, yes, he's trying to have fun, but he's trying to be the center of attention. So I just simply asked him to leave. Yeah. Did he get mad? No, no. But you know what's funny is after when I sent everyone back to their seats in the audience, I have them do stuff once I get back to their seats too, like yelling stuff and, you know, yelling, I'm the man or hypnosis is fake and all that stuff. Yeah. So as that was going on, he jumped up and did something. And I'm like, hmm, wait a second. Yeah, you're still faking it. But
Starting point is 00:24:32 good job. Like, you know, yeah. What are you going to do? It happens. That's true. As long as if they're faking it, then it's just like, you're like, oh, I did my job. Yeah. I look like, I know what I'm doing. I know you do. But somebody said, I got hypnotized. No, sorry, my high school got hypnotized. Yeah. And I was watching it. And so hypnotist said that you will feel like you got a full night's rest. Is that true? Yes. Really?
Starting point is 00:25:00 Absolutely. So the people on stage will feel like they just took the best 20-minute nap of their life. Yeah. And then I always say, you're going to sleep wonderful tonight. You're going to wake up refreshed and ready to go tomorrow morning. And then also in my show, I also give them the gift of confidence. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:25:19 And so right before I ask them to leave, I say, I want you to imagine an invisible ball of confidence floating in front of you. Reach out, grab that ball and pull it in. to you. So now each and every time in the future, you need a little boost of confidence, just touch the center of your chest. So now, you know, whether it be a day from now, a week from now, a month, they get that little boost of confidence. That's really nice. But, but, you know, because that hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation, it's perfect time for to go right in the sleep then. And we help people with sleep too. Well, I bet. Yeah. Can you help people stop snoring? Funny you ask that. That's the, does Jason store? Okay. I was wondering because
Starting point is 00:25:55 I'm like, that's why she has. Yeah, yeah. We would actually work on it with you. Oh. Because... Maybe that's what we should do today. That'd be awesome. So, yeah, we work on with you on whether it be tuning it out or turning that noise, that
Starting point is 00:26:10 disturbs you or wakes you up into a more soothing noise. Wait, it just come to me what I need to do for this. I need to get rid of my mesophonia triggers. Do you know what that is? It sounded like a made-up word you just... It does sound made up. Misophonia is when it's everyone that listens to my podcast knows I have it. So it's if I hear people chewing or like slurping or snoring or like just noises that are coming up,
Starting point is 00:26:35 it irritates me to the point of rage. Okay. Yes. And it's the same thing. And it's been like this since I was a child. Has it really? Yes. I could never hear it.
Starting point is 00:26:44 My sister would always be like, why are you so angry right now? And I'd be like, you're chewing your cereal. Like I cannot handle the sound. I understand. That's a good pet peeve. Yeah. that traveling that's crazy with it you know what you travel a lot so it's like but i always have like air pods in or earpods whatever they're called but i always have those in sounds drive me nuts
Starting point is 00:27:06 and my girlfriend has it so bad that she wears earplugs to dinner with her husband no because it it actually causes her to be angry with him oh my gosh yeah that's that's impressive number one that and she's a chill person like she's very chill it's just like a trigger and i have it too Yeah, so we would work with you on that. Okay. I'm turning, so, so let's say, even let's say someone's voice kind of annoys you. Yeah. Or someone in your past or someone, one of your vinos.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Uh-huh. Vitis, right? Has had someone that's, their voice really annoys them in the aspect of when they were younger, they told them they can't do that. Yeah. You know, or in a negative way. We turn that voice. We tweak it using hypnosis. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:53 into a Charlie Brown voice or into like a high-pitched funny voice on helium because now when they hear that voice, oh, it's funny to them. They don't get that sense of anger anymore. Okay. Does that make sense? Yes. Okay. Well, it's funny that you say that because I get really ragey in traffic.
Starting point is 00:28:11 This is my, okay. I'm overall a pretty happy person or like chill, but if I'm a hormonal, get out of my way, or if I'm on the road. Or if you're chewing. Or if, no, I'm just kidding. But those three Or or yeah But chewing
Starting point is 00:28:27 Like bad drivers and hormones Those three things make me ragey Yes And on the Waze app Where it guides you You can put on the headspace Meditation woman
Starting point is 00:28:41 You can put on her voice So every time you turn right She tells you to take a deep breath And so I was doing that on my way over here I was like I'm getting right into this state of mind And I was getting like like doing deep breaths on the way over here. That's so funny.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Yeah. I've never even heard of this. She made me. Not about the aggravating in traffic, but about the deep breaths. Yeah. So you could help people with, how many sessions would it take? It depends. It depends the goal.
Starting point is 00:29:06 You know, if someone is smoking three packs a day, it's going to take a while. Right. You know, if someone's smoking half a pack, they just need me to tell them to quit. Yeah. You know, or with weight loss, if they, you know, it just varies depending on the person. If someone is triggered by eating noises, how long would it take? One podcast? Maybe one or two, but yeah, yeah, we could make that happen for you.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Because I think it's, I don't know, it's fun to do hypnosis for entertainment and some, you know, funny shit, but also help combat stress for people. And I was like, I'm sure other people have that trigger that I have. Like when I opened up about misophonia, I opened up like a world of like, we basically started a meeting being like, who has it? We're here to support you. Like it was, I couldn't believe how many people came forward and said they had the same Triggers.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Yeah. So then after, do you get messages like, you know, I was at dinner and this person next to me? Yeah. Or their husband dries them nuts or like, yeah, it's, it's interesting. Yeah. I'm really watching how I move my mouth and like how I swallow now. I don't know. It's, I've only triggered with eating or like slurping.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Okay. It's a good thing. I'm not drinking anything. Yeah. Or like soup. If somebody's slurping soup, I can't. Like, or noodles. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:21 It's so bad. So there's no soup served at your house? No soup. No soup, okay. No soup for anyone. No, it's, yeah, it's coffee. It's, I mean, even I get triggered by it my own. That was my next question.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Yeah. Okay. Like, if I'm eating soup, my own sounds gross me out and make me mad. Okay. Or if I wake up in the middle night, chuggy water, I'm like, shut up, Caitlin. There's something wrong with me. I'm already aware of that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Is it true that it's illegal to perform hypnosis in some of it? countries and even some states in the USA? Yeah, it's getting better now. Okay. Yeah, and that's yes and no. Some areas you can't still. Okay. And I think that's because it was probably a rule that got made years, like, long, long time ago.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Hypnosis has been around since the 18th century. Has it really? A German physician by the name of last name, Mesmer started. And, yeah, so it's been around a long time. Wow. A long time. And why don't more people do this? I think because of the misconceptions.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Yeah. Do what? As in use hypnosis? Yeah. I think because of the misconceptions. Okay. Yeah. And you know, they're afraid.
Starting point is 00:31:31 I mean, I was nervous. Yeah. And not that movies like get out or whatnot, you know, are, it's kind of scary. That's true. It didn't give some misconceptions of it. People who don't like to, like for myself, I'm not a controller. I don't need things being controlled and I can just kind of surrender to certain things. I feel like it would be tough for people.
Starting point is 00:31:49 people who need to have control. Yes. Yes. And like I said, everyone could get hypnotized. It takes longer for some people. So if you're real, I don't want to say uptight, but uptight and intense, it's going to take longer. And someone who's nice and relaxed and just going with the flow, listen to me.
Starting point is 00:32:06 That's all. Okay. Okay. Do you have a confession for me before you start getting into this hypnosis on me? Yeah. Confession like an embarrassing story or something. Oh, yeah. I make everyone do it.
Starting point is 00:32:19 And this has to do with magic. Okay. When I was 12 years old, one of my first shows, I was doing a talent show at a nursing home. So there was like, you know, people singing and some people dancing. And I was doing magic. Yeah. And at the time, I was doing this trick with, that I would say, I have an invisible ball. And I would hold my fingers out like I'm holding an invisible ball, about two to three inches apart.
Starting point is 00:32:45 And I would go up to people at this time and say, do you feel the. invisible ball, you know, and some would say, play long and say yes and someone go no and whatever the case is. At the end, I would make a ball appear. So, I'm at a nursing home. So the demographic is a little older, as you could imagine. I'm walking up to a couple people in the first row. I'm saying, do you feel the invisible ball? Yes, yes. I go up to this one woman. And when she goes to put her hand where the ball should be, I noticed she kept missing, like missing my hand completely or hitting my forearm and in my head I'm like I don't I don't know what's going on yeah because she you know third time's a charm or whatnot but I look up and the nurse is standing behind her and the nurse
Starting point is 00:33:27 is covering her eyes and mouthing she's blind oh no so here I am oh no this like 12 13 year old yes and and in my I look up and she says that and I see it and I'm like oh my God here I am asking this blind woman to see and touch an invisible ball. That's, that kind of breaks my heart for you because you're just like, I appreciate that. That shakes your confidence as a magician when you're just in the fragile age of 12. It's amazing that I'm still doing it to this day because of that. Yes. Oh, that's so sad.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Well, I guess for everybody involved, yeah. For everyone involved. It gets brought up, though. And I really haven't told many people about that. Oh, wow. Thank you for sharing that. Oh, you're welcome. Yeah, we are all here to say it's okay. Yeah.

Alrighty, I'm no magician over here, but lately I've been feeling like one when I do my laundry because I've been using OxyClean White Revi, laundry, and stain remover, and let me tell you,
Starting point is 00:35:27 it really does work like magic. I've just been organizing my closet for fall and winter because I know the colder weather is coming soon, and I've definitely found a couple of items that need to be brought back to life, and that is where OxyClean White Revive comes in. Okay, so I have to explain to you why it really does seem like magic. OxyClean White Revive has 40% more whitening power than chlorine bleach per load. So without any of the negatives of chlorine bleach, so you can revive those dingy whites in time for fall, bringing them back to brilliant and bright. And it's safe on colors too.
Starting point is 00:35:58 I had a white shirt that I actually thought was heading straight into the trash, but I soaked it overnight and it really did come back to life. And this is just going to be such a game changer for the next time I stained something too, which let's face it is inevitable. I can be a mess sometimes, okay? So work your magic with OxyClean White Revive. Visit Myoxyclean.com for cleaning tips and tricks. Was the strangest thing that anyone has done while under hypnosis. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Does that mean that I've had them do or that I was surprised about? Both. Okay. So that I've had them do is, let's see, their shoes ringing because they think that's the phone. Yeah. And they pick up their shoe and put it to their ear and they're on their phone with the favorite celebrity. So that's, that's common. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:51 Losing their belly bun. I have people running throughout the audience, looking for their belly button. Yeah, there's a girl who's very sad about that. She was like crying because she lost her belly button. On one of my videos. Yeah. I know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:01 It happens sometimes. Yes. And it's funny because they get angry at people in the audience because I tell them someone in the audience stole it. So then they start questioning and so like I guess that's some of the craziest stuff right you know one of the things I wasn't expecting yeah so I told this gentleman his name is gone from his memory yeah you will not remember your name your name is gone from your memory and I asked him his name and he goes gone oh but the best part was and my head wasn't thinking enough fast enough you know and I thought okay his name's gone you know but then it took me like literally 10 seconds and then it took me like literally 10 seconds and then it's It's gone from his memory. It's gone from. So stuff like that always amazing. Oh, that's so funny.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Because people take suggestions differently. Right. You know, and so it's fascinating. Gosh, that is fascinating. Okay, what is the strangest scenario that took place? In my show, I have a gentleman every time I say a word. Yeah. The venue that I'm playing.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Yeah. Pop up and hit their bottom two times and yell out, I'm the man. Yeah. But then I also have someone else, whenever they hear I'm the man, yell at them. No, you're not. and be very frustrated by it, right? So it's very comical because then two people stand up and, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:14 so about two, a week and a half ago, I was doing this. And by the third time it happened, the gentleman that yelled out, no, you're not, started going towards the guy who stood up and saying, I'm the man. So it was, I had to jump in real quick. But so you never know, you know. Do you have like bodyguards standing by in pace? I don't. I guess these, it's all the MMA background, I guess.
Starting point is 00:38:37 You're like, I'm a magician. Wait, what do you have background in? MMA and mixed martial arts. You do? So, yeah, so I started doing that when I was five years old. Whoa. And so when I'm in town and everything, I coach and I teach and instruct. So you can handle these situations on your own.
Starting point is 00:38:54 So if there's any hecklers out. Yeah. You know, give them a big right hand. Do you get hecklers? No, not too much. Okay. And the reason is I think I just don't allow it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:05 And when I say allowed it, my style just is. isn't, you know, room for hecklers. Who is your, like, inspiration as a magician or anything in your life, actually? Okay. Very good question. Oh, thank you. Yeah. As a magician, when I was younger, I used to look at David Copperfield and study him.
Starting point is 00:39:23 And I've had the opportunity to work with one of his choreographers a long time ago and stuff. And so our styles on stage is very similar. Yeah. So when the music hits or lights hit. Can you levitate? And, yeah, and I levitate my assistants on stage. And yeah, they'll do all that fun stuff. What's your favorite magic trick to perform?
Starting point is 00:39:40 Probably the levitation. Really? Yeah, it's fun. There's moments in both because I like volunteers up on stage with me. So I like having an audience on stage or a volunteer up on stage. I'm doing a magic trick for them. Because for the most part, I know what's going to happen during the show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:54 When they're up on stage, I get the ad live a little bit. And when the magic happens in their hand, can't beat that. Yeah. One of my favorite things to watch is if you have something and the person doesn't even know it's in their hand, they're making a fist and then they open their hand and it's in there. Yeah, yeah. That's freaking wild. Magic is wild.
Starting point is 00:40:12 It is. It is. Yeah. So I would say Copperfield is my, one of my biggest inspirations. Yeah. And then outside of magic, Frank Sinatra, D. Martin, you know, Red Skelton, I, Franks, Fred Astaire. Yeah. You know, I studied them, too, because of what they're doing or, you know, I was told early on, and this goes for anyone.
Starting point is 00:40:31 If you look at only who's in your craft or what you do, you're doing it wrong, you know? instead of looking at what other magicians are doing or other hypnotists are doing, I look at like what Justin Timberlake's doing and why is he where he's at, you know? Right. And or what's he doing with his marketing or X, Y, and Z? Smart.
Starting point is 00:40:48 You know? And that goes for anything, though. Yeah, that's a good point, actually. Mm-hmm. Okay, I'm ready. I'm ready to. Yeah, unless there's something else you wanted. No, no.
Starting point is 00:40:58 So how about we do this? Okay. How about we hypnotize you? Okay. And we'll see how it goes. Okay. You know, whether it be entertainment side or the motivation, stress, everything like that.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Okay. And then I'll teach your listeners a tool that they could use when they're stressed. Yeah. Or when they have this feeling of stress. Okay. I love that. Is that cool? Yeah, I love that.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Yeah. Okay. Let's get warmed up too. Okay. Okay. So do me a favor, squeeze your hands and listeners, you could do this too. Okay. So close your hands, interlace your fingers.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Squeeze your palms together. Squeeze them together. I want you to look at your hands. Caitlin and listeners, look at your hands. I want you to imagine I'm square to see. super glue on the palms of your hands. Squeeze those poems so close together, squeezing those hands so close together. In a moment, I'm going to have you raise up your first two fingers about two to three inches apart. And when you raise up your first two fingers about two to three inches apart,
Starting point is 00:41:47 I want you to stare at that center, that space in between your fingers. And I want you to imagine two powerful magnets to tips your fingers. So once again, when I say raise up those fingers, I want you to raise up their first two fingers about two to three inches apart. I want you to look at that space in between and I want you to imagine two powerful magnets to tips your fingers. Here we go. One, two, three lift up those fingers imagine two magnets and watch on your fingers slowly slowly slowly come together am i supposed to be shaking like this and that's good you can relax now there you go what that's crazy isn't it it's working i know you can't see but her fingers are touching at this moment getting this camera crazy yes so should we get uh should get hypnotized yeah cool so i do have to make a little
Starting point is 00:42:31 disclaimer okay three listeners yeah okay I'm going to be hypnotizing in a moment. If you're driving, just fast forward through the next, like, 30 seconds or so. Good point. That's a good disclaimer. But I think it's going to be cool to hear. Okay. So maybe just fast forward if you're driving.
Starting point is 00:42:48 If you're sitting relaxing, you could follow along as well. Okay. Is that cool? Yeah. Be safe, kids. All right. So sit back in your chair. Feet flat on the ground.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Hands on your left. Take a big breath in. Big breath on. let yourself to relax big breath in big breath out each time you take a big breath in think relax each time you take a big breath out
Starting point is 00:43:19 think let go so relax and let go simply allow yourself to relax even more that's it open up your eyes and stare at a spot in the wall stare at a spot in the wall I want you to stare at that spot intently. I'm going to count down from 10 to 1 as I do so.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Keep staring at that spot. 10. Don't blink. Don't look away. Keep staring at that spot. Becoming more relaxed and more comfortable. Nine. Don't blink.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Don't look away. Big breath in. Big breath out. Eight. All the outside noise simply face. fades away and you're just focused on my voice seven your eyes will begin to water shortly as they do so it's very normal as it does so you're going to become more relaxed big breath in big breath out six don't blink don't look away keep staring at that spot becoming more relaxed and more comfortable
Starting point is 00:44:34 With each and every breath. Five, you can feel the way of your hands on your lap, the weight of your back against the chair, your feet on the floor. Four, don't blink, don't look away. Keep staring at that spot. Three, if you have to blink, blink quickly, but don't look away. Keep staring at that spot. two big breath in big breath out
Starting point is 00:45:11 one take another big breath in another big breath out close your eyes allow yourself to relax even more as you do so that's it good a big breath in big breath out allow yourself to relax go deeper I want you to imagine you're standing at the top of a very tall staircase. This staircase has seven steps to it.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Each step has fluffy white carpeting. There's two handrails on either side and a big chandelier in the center to light your path on the way down. Using your imagination, imagine taking a step from that seventh step, down to that six step. So soft.
Starting point is 00:45:59 So soft. Down to that fifth step. going down, down, down to that fourth step, becoming more relaxed and more comfortable with each and every step, to that third step, going down deeper and deeper to that second step, drifting away long every inch, every five-year-a-body becomes nice and relaxed. down to that first step. I want you to imagine
Starting point is 00:46:37 there's a fluffy white cloud like a fluffy feather bed. Imagine taking step from that first step onto that fluffy, fluffy feather bed. In a moment, I'm going to touch you on the back of your neck on what it's called the hypnotic nerve. When I touch you on the back of your neck,
Starting point is 00:46:55 on the hypnotic nerve, it allows yourself to relax even more, allowing your head to fall down to your chest. as you become more relaxed and more comfortable. Once again, when I touch you on the center of the back of your neck on the hypnotic nerve, it allows your head to fall down to your chest as you become more relaxed and more comfortable. Going all the way down, just like that, sifting, drifting away. Good.
Starting point is 00:47:21 I'm going to pick up your left hand. When I pick it up, you're going to allow it to drop down. You're going to go even deeper in this deep state of relaxation, the long as to relax even more, doing it again, 10 times more relaxed. That's it. We're going to do the same thing with the right hand. We're going to pick it up and go down deeper now and lie yourself to relax. One, two, three, eyes open.
Starting point is 00:47:41 Good. How are you feeling? Really relax. Good. Look at my palm on my hand. Focus in on one spot as it comes closer. Your eyes can become out of focus. Once you're aware of that, you can close your eyes and allow yourself to relax, even more drifting down, drifting away.
Starting point is 00:47:55 Good. That's it. From this point on anything, I say you believe to be the absolute truth. I want you to imagine your arms is weighed down by thousands of thousands of pounds of weights. Your arm, both arms are weighed down by thousands of thousands of pounds of weights. Your arms are struck down there because they're being weighed down by thousands of thousands of pounds of weights. The harder you try to remove your arms, the harder you try to lift them up, the harder it becomes because they were still weighed down there. The harder you try, the harder it becomes because they are really stuck down there.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Go ahead and give it a try and find that you can't. That's weird, isn't it? Your arms are really down there, aren't they? Yeah. When I snap my fingers, you'll be able to lift up your arm again. That's it. Good. How's that feel? Weird. Yeah? And you're doing great. Up here, big breath in. All right yourself to relax even more. Drifting away. Focus on that spot right now. Big breath in. Your eyes will become nice and heavy. And you can allow yourself to sleep go down even more. Trifting away. Along yourself to relax even more. That's it. Drifting even more. Good. That's it. I'm going to count down from three to one.
Starting point is 00:49:01 As I do so, you're going to enter this deep state of relaxation even further. Three, drifting away. Two, one. I want you to imagine I've tied 100 rubbed balloons filled with helium to your wrist. A hundred red balloons filled with helium to your wrist. That's right. And it begins to move up a little bit just like that. It begins to rise up.
Starting point is 00:49:18 Just like that. A hundred red balloons filled with helium to your wrist. And it begins to rise up, lifting that arm higher and higher. That's it. Allowing that arm to raise up even higher and higher. That's it. That's it right here. That's it higher and higher.
Starting point is 00:49:30 Good. and higher good and sleep allow yourself to drift away one two three eyes open how do you feel so far it's like twitching yeah yeah how's that feel good so now how about we do a little bit of motivation and stress yeah does that sound good yeah sounds great all right good sleep big breath in big breath out allow yourself to relax big breath in and deep state sleep let yourself to relax even more good know that you can come to this point at any time in your life anytime you need to take a moment for yourself and it is okay to take a moment for yourself big breath in big breath out allowing yourself to drift away even more realizing that for you there's something
Starting point is 00:50:22 in the back of your mind that you want to work on it's going to pop in your head right now or may pop in your head a little later, but realize that your subconscious mind is already at work fixing this problem, achieving this goal, reaching this motivation, allowing you to live a stress-free life from this habit, or allowing yourself to get motivated to this goal. Your subconscious mind is already creating three things that it could do, three things that it could do to reach this goal of yours. That's it. Bain breath in. big breath as you relax even more
Starting point is 00:51:00 those suggestions sink down even more sink into your subconscious mind know that you can enter this deep state of relaxation at any point in your life this stress-free time I want you to imagine what the snoring feels like sounds like the snoring
Starting point is 00:51:18 of your fiance can you hear in your mind nod your head when you say that you hear in your mind you hear in your mind perfect I want you to imagine what that sounds like. And when I want you to, I want you to imagine there's two dials in front of you.
Starting point is 00:51:35 Using your imagination, not your hands, but using your imagination. I want you to twist the dial, the volume dial down. Using that imagination, I want you to twist that volume down, dial down. Twisting it down so low that it now becomes so hard to hear. It's almost as if it's in background noise. and, you know, background noise, you could tune out easily. There's another knob on that dashboard there. That's the pitch level.
Starting point is 00:52:06 I want you to adjust that, using your imagination, adjust it. It would be like a funny pitch, something that makes you laugh. Something that maybe even relaxes you, whether it be an ocean, wind, rain on a nice day. that's it and know when you hear that that snoring that used to cause you issues
Starting point is 00:52:32 that used to be there to annoy you it's no longer there in fact you're hearing this this funny this relaxing whatever the case is wherever you turn it to you're hearing that noise now and you're able to get a great night of sleep
Starting point is 00:52:47 I'm going to cut off from three to one as I do so as I do so all my suggestions are going to sink and you're going to feel wonderful as if you just took a 20 minute nap you're going to feel great for the rest of your day motivated stress-free excited about everything you have going on today and this evening three sitting up your chair two wiggling your fingers your toes four popping your head open wide away how do you feel I almost started laughing when I was thinking about what funny sound I was going to play in my head and say the snoring so so when
Starting point is 00:53:23 you heard the snoring, you kind of, you heard it in your head? Oh yeah. Yeah. And were you able to adjust those knobs in your head? Yeah. Lower and stuff. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. It's cool. And that's like a real quick version. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course. How long does a normal, like, session? About 45 minutes or so. Okay. 45 minutes or an hour. You know, because
Starting point is 00:53:42 so what I did with you is more of a, what's called an instant induction to where you're not going to get so, so deep. Yeah. Right. I felt pretty deep there. You were. Yeah. You were nice and relaxed. Yeah. Yeah. Especially, you know, when I said your arms are heavy and stuff.
Starting point is 00:53:58 Yeah. And I picked your arm up and it dropped. Yeah. You know, it took, I think, two times for you to really get relaxed. Uh-huh. But it was there. Yes. You should do like a sleep story, like on a calm app.
Starting point is 00:54:09 Yeah. So, so we do have sessions and recordings available. Oh, tell me how to get those. DeAnthonyhypnosis.com. Okay. And then you could schedule a, you know, consultation and all the screening and stuff like that. And then. you know, sessions and all that good stuff.
Starting point is 00:54:25 Oh my gosh. How does everyone know who you are, like, from off the vine? Everyone, like, knew, have they been to your shows? Like, do you do, like, celebrity work? I guess shows and stuff and fans. You know, I think that I have pretty loyal, loyal fans, which is nice. And, yeah, so I saw your story. And then, like, directly after that, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:48 People have kept tagging me and stuff. I'm like, oh, oh, this is the thing, I guess now. and yes so that's awesome wow okay I really do feel like yeah I could take a nap yes yeah because it's a deep stay relaxation that's it so should give your listeners a little something yeah yeah okay okay cool so there's a there's a trick that I use okay okay or I tell people to use whether it's before whatever stress are they have in their life yeah if they have trouble snacking when they get that urge to snack I don't go to late night they use this if they if they're trying to quit smoking and they're trying to, you know, they haven't urged to smoke,
Starting point is 00:55:24 they could use this. Okay. If they're feeling stressed, they could use this. So there's three things we're going to do. Okay. So the first is you have to change your, uh, your physicality. When you change your physicality, you change your emotions. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:38 So we could do this now. If you want to step in your chair, put your hands on your hips, posture up, good. So that's number one. You change your physicality. Okay. And typically I would have them stand up or whatnot. Okay. Number two, we're going to look up at our 45-degree angle.
Starting point is 00:55:52 Okay. Similar to how I had you look up for the hypnosis, right? So when we look up at this 45-degree angle, no thought process happens on the tip of the forehead. Okay. So we have to clear our head. It rushes endorphins through our eyes, too. Then what you're going to do is take three big breaths in and out. That's it.
Starting point is 00:56:16 And the third one. Good. That's it. Good. That's perfect. So whenever you're feeling that you can relax. There you go. You're like one of them in there. Yes. Whenever you're feeling that urge, right? In traffic. Yeah. At a restaurant. Yeah. When you're hearing that person next to you chew. Whenever you're feeling that urge, yeah. Do those three things. Really? Yes. Or if you're feeling stressed and overwhelmed and who isn't these days, right? Around this time. Yeah. When you're feeling stressed and overwhelmed, do those three things. Change your physicality because it's change your emotions. Look up and bring. And breathe, take big, three big breasts in and out. And then repeat. Yeah. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:53 You'll notice a big difference. Isn't that crazy how it's such, like, it can be simple things that can change your whole. Yes. Demeanor. Yes. I mean, it's amazing. Yeah. That's really cool.
Starting point is 00:57:05 Thank you so much for being here. Thank you for having. I want to do this for like the next hour. I'm just like, let's do it again. Yes. Yeah. And the more you get hypnotized, the easier it becomes and the deeper you'll go. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:17 That's what I'm like a little bit addicted. at this point. Yeah. I'm like one session. I'm in. Yeah. We could teach self hypnosis and do all that stuff because that's a big thing too to help sleep.
Starting point is 00:57:27 Self hypnosis? How do you do that? Is it like a practice of meditation? Like it's just a practice? Pretty much. Yeah. Yes. You start off at a certain point and then you're able to really induct yourself into it.
Starting point is 00:57:38 I always want to know this about like therapists or magicians or hypnotists. Like are you able to get yourself to that point if you feel worked up or if you feel stress, are you able to use your own tools to, like, dial yourself back? Oh, absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. You know, especially what, whatever the case may be, if I'm, if I'm, even if I'm pumped about something, you know, or right when I'm about to walk on stage. Yeah. There's a few things I do beforehand, you know. Yeah. And I could definitely settle myself down if I'm getting like into that, that high level of point. Yeah. Okay. And will you show me a magic trick before you go? Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. I have a deck of cards on me, actually. Yes.
Starting point is 00:58:17 Okay, show me a trick Yes, cool So a deck of cards here A deck of cards Yeah Similar how we have 52 weeks in a year You want to take it a step further A deck of cards
Starting point is 00:58:27 Has four suits hearts, clubs, spades, diamonds Similar how we have four seasons out of the year If you add up all the pips plus the joker Meaning all the hearts All the clubs all the spades Equals 365 No Yeah
Starting point is 00:58:37 I just blew her mind right there You really did Should I just end it Should I do? Good night Anyways I have a deck of cards I took one card out
Starting point is 00:58:45 I flipped it face down in a face-up deck. So there's one card upside down. Wrong set up. That's my prediction. Okay. And I shuffled it so it's mixed in somewhere. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Name the first suit that pops in your head right now. Clubs. Clubs. You want to stick with that or change it. Can I change it? You can change it if you want. Spade. Spades.
Starting point is 00:59:04 You want to stick with that or change it? Spade. Okay, okay. So now we narrow it down to 13 cards. One through 10, Jack, Queen, and King. Yeah. Name it number one through 10. Make it a tough one.
Starting point is 00:59:16 A number through 1 and 10? Yeah. Oh, um, eight. Eight. You want to stick with that or change it? Stick of that. Stick with it. Yeah. So, uh, what we did, we took 52 cards. We narrowed it down to 13, all the spades. And then you narrowed it down to the eight, the eight of spades.
Starting point is 00:59:32 All cards are face up. All cards are face up except for one card. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Pull it out for me. What? Wait, but, I mean, can you explain one trick to me? Can you keep a secret?
Starting point is 00:59:54 Yes. So can I. That's good. Wait, but what? Because it's not like, it's not like you'd have time to be like, well, I've got to get this one in the right position. Do you know how it's done? No, what the heck? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:13 You want to see another one? Yeah. Yeah, cool. Let's keep it. going right uh go pick any card for me any which one good and you saw before they're all they're all different uh show run show to the camera yeah take a look makes it ending a lot better cool place it right there for me great let's mix it up a little bit can you hold out your hand like a table yeah one hand it's funny added gentleman last night go like this i know points for creativity
Starting point is 01:00:38 right well what do we do mozette you're fine there we're gonna use the top card and what was your card am i really telling you yeah oh um eight of clubs it so it wasn't the four spades It wasn't supposed to be. That four of spades, we're going to place right underneath your hand. Okay. There we go. Okay, good, good. Boom, you see, in that moment, I stole that four of spades.
Starting point is 01:01:00 And I replaced it with something. What the hell? I just don't get it. That's the beauty of magic. I don't get it. Yes, yes. That is the beauty of magic. It's magic.
Starting point is 01:01:15 And when it happens in your hand, And I know she has a spade, so is that? Yes. Is that why you chose spades? Yeah. Okay. I don't know why clubs hit my mind first. And I was like, no, I want to change it.
Starting point is 01:01:23 And when you asked me to change it. I was like, yes, I want to change it. So what's the story with spades? It's my wine label is spayed and sparrows. Oh my God, that's right. I didn't even put the two together. Yeah. So I was sparrows on my arms and then spade there.
Starting point is 01:01:34 So what came first? The spades part or the sparrar or the wine part? So the sparrows came first, then the wine. And then I was like, well, I might as well, I might as well get a spade because I have. I love it. Yeah. That's fantastic. Which, by the way, do you like red white or rosé?
Starting point is 01:01:47 Red wine. Do you like Cab or Pino Noir? Cab. Well, look at my magic. Oh, wow. She made a prediction, ladies and gentlemen. You're too kind. See, guess what?
Starting point is 01:02:02 I don't even have any other kinds in there. Just, yeah, it's empty. It's completely empty. And look, I made it appear. Thank you so much for coming here. I want to get cut in half. We can move, we can make that happen. Okay.
Starting point is 01:02:16 Yeah. Or if Bachelor nation needs a magician or hypnotist, that's a good idea. As a group date. We could definitely make that happen. Oh, that's a really good idea. Because it'd be fun, you know, to have people off on stage doing some fun stuff. Okay. Whether it be hypnosis or magic, you know, either one I think would play about.
Starting point is 01:02:32 That's awesome. Yeah. Great idea. Okay. Well, thank you. Thank you for having me. Any time. I feel like we need to do this like on a monthly basis just to get me deeper and deeper.
Starting point is 01:02:41 Yeah. We'll work on motor. motivation next time. Yeah. There's like a whole, yeah, we could. Really? Yeah. Well, you know, with anything, motivation is, you know, it's, you just got to start doing stuff, you know, and that's, that's the thing.
Starting point is 01:02:54 Yeah. You could, as you know, with your businesses, you can say your, people say there, you're going to do stuff all the time. It never gets done. That's true. I did. I went to a speaking event yesterday about like your buried goals and dreams and what's on your bucket list and how people just like don't have a deadline for their dreams because they're like, well, do it next week. I'll do it next year. I'll do it when I'm this age.
Starting point is 01:03:14 I'll do it after I have kids. And then it just keeps getting buried and buried and buried. And people don't get those goals done. Do you write down your goals? I do. Do you have time for a quick story? Yes, of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:25 So when I was very young, I heard this story about Jim Carrey. Whether it's true or not, you know, and Jim Carrey, the famous comedian. He's Canadian. I'm Canadian. He's my hero. Okay, there we go. So I heard a story that when he was first starting out, he took his goals, wrote him down on a newspaper, folded it up and placed it into his wallet.
Starting point is 01:03:40 Once again, I don't know if it's true, but I heard this story. So I did the same thing when I was about 11 or 12, wrote down, folded it up, placed it in my wallet. And it's still there to this day. And yes, yeah. And of course, I have added goals. I've had the opportunity of crossing those off, checking those off, you know, and stuff. But when we put goals saying it's one thing, you know, writing it down. Writing it down is another because then we start putting in the motion and put it into, in a sense, into universe.
Starting point is 01:04:07 And it's a constant, I carried around as a constant reminder of where I want to go. Yeah. I do that all the time. Do you? Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I have built. I made lists when I was like 23 and it was one was to have my own radio show. No kidding. Yeah. And look where you're at. I know. Unbelievable. And, yeah, I have so many like crazy, you know, instead of come true. So I do it every year. I write down my goals for the year and I put it. And I like go so far as to like put crystals on it, put it out on like full moons, like everything. Yeah. I mean, you're talking to the guy that, uh, actually, I used to carry around a red ribbon. Yeah. In my wallet. Yeah. Because I was afraid in Italian culture. or there's this thing called the Milwaukee, the evil eye.
Starting point is 01:04:44 Yeah. And the red is supposed to get rid of it. Get rid of it. Keep it away. Yeah. And the evil eye is like someone, man, this sounds weird. No, not to me. Okay, all right.
Starting point is 01:04:53 All right, good. I'm glad. The evil eye is like someone who's, like, jealous or wishes you harm and look at you a certain way, you know? Uh-huh. And that's like the Milwaukee. Ah. I could use that red ribbon on a few people. We'll add a red ribbon into your purse with only the one wine bottle.
Starting point is 01:05:09 Yeah, that was it. Yeah, that was it. It's just a big bag. one bottle in there. Yep, that's it. Oh my gosh. So fun. Thank you. Thank you so much for having me. And when do you head back? Tonight. What? I know. I fly out tonight. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Well, safe travels. Thank you so much. Appreciate it. I'm Caitlin Bristow.
