Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story. Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge, there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice. And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am. It's not just any audiobook. This is a full cast performance. So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry, brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads Sing is Mr. Darcy. And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything. Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Poulter in the mix. Talk about a dream cast. Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics, and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy. And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.

Starting point is 00:02:27 This podcast is brought to you by Shopify, Mooka Bean, and Damn Handsome Grooming Co, and Smile Twice, and a million other businesses. Why so many you may be asking yourself? Well, it's because we're sponsored by Shopify and they do everything they can to support independent businesses on their platform. So they included them in this sponsorship. Pretty cool. Shopify is an all-in-one commerce solution designed to start, grow, and scale your
Starting point is 00:02:53 business on your terms. They do everything they can to support independent businesses and I can truly tell you from personal experience because an independent business by the name of DoE Edit is one of the businesses that Shopify supports. So if you've ever gone to purchase a scrunchy headband or Brett from Dew or gone on so many other sites that are powered by Shopify, then you know what I'm talking about. Shopify is your true business partner with 24-7 customer support just because you're independent doesn't mean you're alone. Love that. When you shop on Shopify, you're supporting independent businesses like mine, and I think that's pretty awesome.
Starting point is 00:03:30 See all the way Shopify is supporting independence at shopify.com slash independence. Shopify supporting independence. Who's that with OTV? Who's that with OTV? Who's that with OTV? Podcast One presents off The Vine with Caitlin Bristol. Caitlin is creating a space where girls and gents can feel empowered to be. themselves get ready for lots of laughs tabby topics on filtered advice and wine lots of wine get ready to
Starting point is 00:04:03 shake things up here's kaitland that's kind of how i roll on these podcasts because i like to do it from anywhere and if i'm going to do it from a hotel room on the bed it's shit's going to go wrong you know i can't just have it go smoothly if i'm going to throw it together in a hotel room no number It wouldn't be authentic. So anyways, okay, welcome to grape therapy. I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow, and I need some therapy this morning. My gosh. Okay, so we're in New York.
Starting point is 00:04:32 I'm with my girlfriend Bailey. Ola. And we are in a pretty decent hotel room size-wise for New York. And so we've got Delaney here. And first of all, your name, Delaney Childs is such a power name. I know I'm a big name guy. I like, wait, what's your name? No, I know Clayton. Sorry, your full name.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Yeah. Oh, my God. My real name is Clayton. Oh. Clayton, what? This is like... Winner. Well, I just like people's names.
Starting point is 00:05:04 This is literally such good material because people have always told me my whole life that my name is like... You know, like you said like a power name. They're like, oh, that sounds like you're going to be like famous or like something like that. And his last name is Wenner. Which to me is like, I don't want that last name. This is her boyfriend. She's talking about everybody. I sound like such a savage.
Starting point is 00:05:29 But you don't, you don't like downgrade your name, right? Like I'm not going from like my name that like flows really nicely, Delaney Childs. Delaney Wenner. Like a Hollywood, like an old Hollywood glamour, like name. Okay. Wait. I have a thought on this. I feel like people's names are their identity.
Starting point is 00:05:48 And when you get married, I'm all. the tradition and the romance of taking somebody's last name but i also think that's such a thing of the past where now it's like you are delaney childs yeah you know that's why don't you become clayton child literally i suggested that because i said too that i can pretty much guarantee if we had a child and we gave it the option which last name it would want it would want child's right like people call him not him personally but you know they they mistake it for weener all the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Like. That was, yeah, I was going to say what was, people were always called you Clayton Weaner. Yeah. So like, So like the kid would want my name anyways and I'm like, why does the girl always like have to sacrifice her name?
Starting point is 00:06:39 Why can't the boy be like, I'll do this for you too? Like, why does it have to be that way? Why don't we put the seat up after we pee? The question. everybody has been wondering oh that's the million dollar question why don't we do that for the guys yeah that don't no we're not going to do that jason leaves the seat up sometimes he's usually pretty good lately he's been lazy but the one time i fell in i will not let him leave live it down i had to get in the shower like six in the morning because he's talking about traumatic situations
Starting point is 00:07:14 bailey's taking off her bandage from our um iv drip this morning i survived i've I haven't had a seizure yet. Oh, my gosh. She tells me afterwards, we got, okay, so we got IV drips, which, by the way, I thought we were getting hooked up. And it was so expensive. What? I'm totally fine with it.
Starting point is 00:07:33 And it was just, I looked at the price. I was like, oh, shit. Okay. So I hope it works. But, you know, we're like a little bit hungover and we're trying to get these IV drips done. And I can tell Bailey's having a panic, a mini panic attack. And then she tells me.
Starting point is 00:07:50 after that you used when you got needles when you're younger you would have seizures okay so real big milestone today yeah my younger self could see me now I'm really proud of you anyways okay yeah just stay sitting for a little while so Delaney you're here in New York with your boyfriend for an event and you live in L.A yes okay so how would people know you because you've got a pretty good presence online here I did some creeping and so how do people like how did you grow your your audience for like because some people you know are on a show or so how did you do it honestly just posting like every day consistently yeah and just posting valuable content I mean what I thought was valuable so fashion beauty lifestyle um really just like creating
Starting point is 00:08:39 content around that and then um I've made it like a really big part of my brand to be positive on everything and just have like a lot of positivity so I feel like that um has drawn a lot of people in too because, you know, some people might not even be there for fashion or something, but they'll just message me and be like, I love, you know, your little notes about positivity or like turning your day around or something like that. So I feel like that has something to do with it too. Okay. I need a little bit of this in my life. Jason calls me a pessimist, which I don't think I am because I don't think I would be where I am if I had a negative attitude and was a pessimist. I'm a big manifester. Is that a word? Manifester. Yeah, it sounded weird
Starting point is 00:09:17 when I said it. But I could, I could be a little more positive in my days. So how do you turn your days around if you're, because you must get negative or down. So how do you, how do you turn around? Literally, the easiest and best thing to turn your day around or be positive is just to show gratitude. Yeah. So literally like every little thing you can be grateful for. And if you're having a bad day or a bad moment or something, you can remind yourself that you can use both your legs and that you should be grateful for that. Or you can go get a hug from someone who you care about and just soak it in for 30 seconds and be grateful that you have that person in your life. You can look at the sky and be like, I am so fortunate that I can see the sky. Some people
Starting point is 00:10:02 can see that. Or you can go taste things and be like, I'm so fortunate that I can taste things and I have food. Like you can find gratitude and everything. And as soon as you focus on that, it switches a flip or flips a switch. I always do stuff like that. I do that. I always do. I always do that. And it just like turns your attitude around and turned your day around. And then the more you focus on the things you're grateful for, you will attract more of them like manifesting. Yeah. Bailey just got the five minute journal.
Starting point is 00:10:31 And so we were doing that this morning. And it is. It's just even like you were saying about the five minute journal where you write things down and seeing that and writing it down just changes your day right off the bat because you're just waking up and like, oh, what am I grateful for today? When you get a new car and you start seeing it. that car everywhere. Like when you're more intentional with your thoughts, they're powerful. So you can actually kind of control your brain a little bit more. I agree with that. That's really cool. Question for you. Do you own or rent your own home? I'm sure you do. And I bet it can be really hard work. And you know what's easy? Bundling policies with GEICO. GICO makes it easy to bundle your homeowners or renters insurance
Starting point is 00:11:08 along with your auto policy. And it's a good thing too because you already have so much to do around your home. Go to guyco.com. Get a quote and see how much you could save it's guyco easy visit guyco.com today that's guyco dot com you're talking about freudian slip i always do when i'm talking about my dogs getting there um now i have to think about how i say it flea and tick medication which i don't give them anymore because that caused them to have a seizure by the way i always call it flicking tea flicking tea okay so that's it's called a freudian slip so i've got a joke for you ready for it okay so this guy's talking to his friend and they've been married for years and he's like
Starting point is 00:11:53 oh man I had the most embarrassing Freudian slip the other day and the guy was like what is that he's like you know when you say one thing but you mean something else like I went to the airport and I asked for two pickets to titsberg and and the guy was like oh yeah I think I had a Freudian slip the other day I was having dinner with with my wife and I meant to say honey could you pass the butter but I said bitch you ruined my life that's my joke for the day it's good right Clayton loves that one
Starting point is 00:12:29 jokes classic yeah that just came to my mind that's that's the kind of stuff that goes on in my brain not not positivity like looking at the sky and thinking about how we can see I'm like what's a good joke to go with this moment I'm grateful for your laughter yeah you're great you're okay well thank you that's very nice yeah uh anyways okay so you are big
Starting point is 00:12:49 into bravo tv i here yes um so chris harrison or andy cohen i mean obviously Andy Cohen it's so funny because Bailey was like you should have Andy Cohen on your podcast I was like I wouldn't even know what to talk about because I don't think I've ever watched an episode of anything on Bravo so sell me on it which really real housewives is that I don't just like i watch pretty much everything on bravo and i just like no shade to chris harrison but like the way that andy does everything and like delivers things and like i just am so drawn to his personality whereas like this is my first season watching the bachelor so maybe i need some time but i totally just like burped into the microphone oh my gosh i'm so sorry if anybody heard that okay yeah
Starting point is 00:13:36 you need some time but yeah this is that's a tough season i'm not attached to chriserson at all I'm so attached to Chris Harrison. It's a problem. Yeah. Like, I'll call him if I, like, have a fight with Jason. No, I'm just kidding. I wish I could do that with Andy Cohen. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:52 But what is it about Bravo? Is it, okay, I'm honestly so clueless. Is it just Real Housewives or is there other shows? Oh. No. So there's Real Housewives and then there's more. I don't know how to explain. Oh, wait, Vanderpump.
Starting point is 00:14:06 That's Bravo, right? Yeah. Yeah. So those are more just like the baseline. The Fats. okay yeah best known for for sure yeah and then but it's just like I don't know it's just literally the only things that we watch in our house is Bravo and ESPN yeah oh okay we've never watched the news we will never watch the news and like Bravo and ESPN makes me feel like I'm in
Starting point is 00:14:29 the loop enough with the world because like on watch what happens live with Andy Cohen he does like a little bit of like I don't even want to call it news but like if something really big happens like the coronavirus like yeah he'll talk about and that's how I found out about that and like ESPN does a little bit of current events too I feel like enough that we're like in the no but all of the rest of the content is just like happy and lighthearted and like fluffy pretty much and that makes me feel good like well you got to do what makes you feel good yeah I put on the news yesterday then almost had a panic attack so I'd have shut it off all right love can be frustrating if you've watched the season of the bachelor you know what I'm talking about whether you're shipping
Starting point is 00:15:07 peter with Hannah B or Hannah Ann or Ashley P you know the California from night one. Honestly, my favorite part of the season. We all know that love isn't easy. That's why I decided to focus my attention on finding some of my friends love. No, not through The Bachelor, through Ship. Ship is the dating app that lets you play matchmaker for your friends. So even when you're feeling powerless, watching the Bachelor contestants make decisions that you don't agree with, you could at least help your friends make better ones. Jason and I have been swiping on potential suitors for one of my friends, Claire, not Claire the Bachelorette. And let me tell you, our taste is totally different, which makes the app even more fun.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Jason, Claire, and I could not disagree more when it comes to finding her a man. Claire's super picky when it comes to choosing a guy to swipe right on, whereas I'm like, if they're hot, let's swipe right, see what happens. We also have an amazing group chat going in the app where we give each other our best pickup lines, which are not always that great, but hey, it's good fun. So if you're also super frustrated with the way this bachelor season turned out, turn your attention to where it matters most. friends and find them someone on ship worthy of the final rows finding a date is more fun if you do it with friends download ship the app that's letting you swipe with friends that's s hip search for ship dating in the app store to start swiping today so you're watching bachelor for your first this is your first season watching yes tell me your thoughts i don't like it what don't you like about
Starting point is 00:16:36 it because obviously bravo tv like that also is it's dramatic right yeah yeah so what don't you like about bachelor well first of all the production is way different like oh really yeah the production quality i never realized um on bravo is in my opinion really good right like i don't know how to explain it or what tools they use exactly i mean we're kind of familiar with it from doing like noise like music oh oh i see yeah okay so there's no like that's not enough depth for you it's like it's not produced well in my opinion and i feel like i'm watching a soap opera yeah and i don't watch soap operas right i've never been into that so i'm still not into that maybe you don't like the love stories yeah i mean i don't like yeah i mean i don't believe like anything anyone is saying so far on the
Starting point is 00:17:31 show yeah it's it's a tough season to start on just for that reason exactly but i would i would encourage you to watch next season because Bachelorette, Claire, she's 38 years old, she knows what she wants, she's well spoken, I think it's going to be a good season. Okay. So maybe start there. Yeah. So, well, maybe you're, are you a romantic person? Not really.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Okay. So you and, well, your boyfriend's right here, so I should involve you in the conversation, but you guys have been together for how long? I think six years. Yeah. Oh, that's so nice. It's a long time. How did you guys meet?
Starting point is 00:18:04 We were neighbors in college, and we were both always having, parties at our house so we were always at each other's parties and hanging out yeah we were like the party people in college really yeah we we don't really drink at all anymore yeah um like we're not sober but we just don't really drink yeah and we were literally like the two most out of control people really what's what what switched um for you to just health reasons or just didn't feel like doing it anymore got it out of your system yeah yeah we just grew out of it like we had different goals and like we couldn't really reach those goals acting that way yeah and just like after you turn yeah I hear you yeah after you turn 21 I swear the hangover is like are you kidding me
Starting point is 00:18:47 I'm 34 and I this I'm an anomaly but I don't really get hung over it today was today was a little bit different just because I didn't drink any water yesterday I hate water um you need my water bottle yeah what's your water bottle okay what is it It's got times on it, and you have to drink, like, down to time. And it has, it's 64 ounces. I don't like being controlled like that. No, it's, no, it's not controlled. It's, like, motivating.
Starting point is 00:19:12 It, like, it makes you, like, want to race yourself. Like, really? Yeah. I used to drink, like, four ounces of water a day. And now sometimes I drink two of those bottles a day, which is, like, a gallon of water. Yeah, I just, peeing is so inconvenient to me. I agree. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Like, I'm just, like, if I don't have to go to the bathroom, I don't want to, like, I'll wait until I'm going to pee my pants. but if I drink all that water then I just have to pee all the time That's annoying Yeah Peen is so inconvenient Inconvenient
Starting point is 00:19:40 Yeah Okay well You're gonna get me into drinking water And Bravo TV That's what I'm gonna take away From this podcast today But you guys Okay so you guys have been together
Starting point is 00:19:50 For six years Do you guys both do content creating Yeah so we work together full time How is that on the relationship You get along well though I can tell Yeah we spend so much time together earlier this week or last week I had to go to a photo shoot and he actually wasn't coming and we were going to be apart for like eight hours or something and we had realized the night
Starting point is 00:20:12 before I was like okay what are you going to do tomorrow and I'm like wow we're not going to be together all day and I'm like when is the last time we weren't together for more than four hours and we were like eight or nine months ago really yeah yeah really like we don't even do that on purpose but literally every single day for like nine months straight we have not been apart for more than four hours okay so tell me about your personalities because you okay you're obviously a positive person you both seem very laid back but like motivated it's because for me i'm i'm i'm laid back but i'm easily irritated you could say but for me it's like to i think a lot of relationships out there. If you were spending that much time with somebody like people get on your nerves,
Starting point is 00:21:02 I have mesophonia. As soon as I hear Jason chewing, I need to get out of the room. It's, do you have that? No, but he's, oh, I don't have it about, I'm very dramatic. I don't have it about chewing in general, just like, yeah, the way he bothers me. He has no manners. Oh, okay. You're barbaric. I mean, he's a boy. He enjoy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a boy. They eat like that. Okay. But he has, like, very minimal manners. So, we're working on it. Do you guys have. Do you guys have a relationship like advice you should do a podcast on relationship advice maybe okay so what what would be your biggest piece of advice to couples out there i would say find someone that you're compatible with because i feel like so many people try to make things fit that don't fit and they're like it's going to
Starting point is 00:21:47 work out we can make this work whatever but it's like if it doesn't work it doesn't work you shouldn't try to force it and you should find someone who has like the same goals and beliefs and values as you and it's going to be a lot easier to stick together for a long time than being like, oh, well, maybe one day he'll want to get married, so I'll work on it. Or, you know, maybe one day he'll change his attitude and stop being like an angry person or what, like, you know, just find someone who you actually already group with and go with that, I'd say. I think I found that. I feel like Jason and I are very compatible. You wouldn't think so when you first met us, but now when people know the two of us, I think we're very compatible. But
Starting point is 00:22:27 we spend a lot of time together and we travel together and we kind of same thing like we do the same kinds of things for work and I literally like I need I'm the kind of person that really needs my own space but then as soon as I have it I'm like well where are you like I'll be like I need time I need space and I go away and then like an hour later I'm like so what do you do that we spend all of our time on the phone while we're apart it's so funny but that's it's like you do you need to find somebody compatible that you're just it feels like a best friend Exactly. All right.
Starting point is 00:22:59 So life today is kind of a lot. It forces us to always be on. And seriously, what is going on lately? I mentioned to Jason in our podcast the other day that Mercury must be in retrograde or something. But every now and then, it's important to just stop, crack open a mountain cold, Coors Light, and chill. So when you choose to turn off, choose the one beer that's made to chill, Coors Light. So much of the time, I feel like I have to be at my best and go, go, go.
Starting point is 00:23:24 but sometimes, and especially right now, all of us need to just take a moment to chill and just turn off for a second. Right now we have no choice. So whether that's by yourself, whether that's with your friends or your significant other, some of the ways I like to chill are watching Netflix, going on a walk, but my favorite way to chill is simple, cracking open to Coors Light. And let's be honest, I had to crack more than one during the Bachelor finale last week. If you know, you know. There's one beer out there that's literally made to chill, and that's Coors Light. The mountains on the bottles and cans even turn blue when your beer is cold, so that way you always know when it's time to chill. Coors Light is brewed with a three-step cold process, cold loggered, cold filtered, and cold packaged.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Born in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, in 1978, Coors Light is refreshing, crisp, and only 102 calories. That's why Coors Light is the one I choose when I need a moment of chill. So when you want to rest, reach for the beer that's made to chill. Starting point is 00:25:27 on Apple Podcasts and Podcasts 1 Now back to Off the Vine With Caitlin Bristow We need to find Bailey a boyfriend Yes I got my dog right now Totally get the dog thing But are you on any dating apps Bailey? Yeah a couple
Starting point is 00:25:43 Oh yeah last night Wait this is so funny okay so last night uh bailey's on what is it called raya oh yeah and so we're on there and i'm looking and we're i'm looking okay so i'll start at the beginning yeah yeah very good long story short when i was on the bachelorette one of the guys on my season made it to final two his name's nick everybody listening knows and he we were at the bar last night and he showed up as a match for her like he was upstairs and he and he lives in the area and he lives in LA what are the way I'm like Caitlin what are you up to he came to he was at the bar and we ended up
Starting point is 00:26:30 up having a drink with him and it was so funny because we're friends now and everything's cool but um it was just so funny I was like uh cool you're on the dating app you says you're right here Bailey was like I'll swipe on that I mean hey I didn't mind it's so funny though like what a random is your husband are you married boyfriend boyfriend is he from your season no no okay he's from the same show you're keeping it in the family keep it in the I always swear I wouldn't date a bachelor person but then you meet Jason and you'll understand why but uh yeah okay so I got engaged on bachelorette and we were together for three and a half years which is not a short amount of time and then we broke up and I had Jason on my podcast and then that's how we met oh yeah yeah that's pretty cute i love hearing how people meet and that's like when i meet um anybody's parents i'm always like how you guys meet i love i love stories i just very inspiring too because it makes you realize like all these different
Starting point is 00:27:29 situations that you could meet the love of your life like it doesn't have to be some crazy romantic scenario no that's i always say on the podcast and just like i was just saying to bailey it's so crazy you could literally meet your person in at boxing today when we go like at newton you just never know how you're going to meet somebody so true you could meet them all sweaty and gross and then it's going to be good eye candy and yeah i saw the i don't think that's where i'm going to meet him because i'm probably going to be hyperventilating on the floor but yeah but that's how he'll come give me mouth to mouth maybe i'll have my seizure he'll have to save you don't say that that freaks me out damsel in distress yeah but that it's true it's just wild you just have to
Starting point is 00:28:10 be open to it and ready for it and you could literally meet somebody in an hour tomorrow or in two years that could be your person you just never know how how exciting is that I don't know if people can hear my stomach right now but there's some weird shit going on in there is that the IV oh that's I'm digesting oh my gosh what does that feel like that okay I want to talk about how healthy you are because it's that's inspiring to me so you guys again you you're not sober but you don't really drink is that health reasons or we kind of brushed on it but is that you just grew out of it and you're like I'd rather treat my body like yeah I mean it's kind of just like the idea of that every day I like would choose to feel 100% if I could and I know
Starting point is 00:28:58 if I drink alcohol I will definitely feel something less than 100% yeah it's kind of just like yeah why do we do a conscious decision of like you know like that is way more like feeling 100 percent the next day is way more valuable to me than like feeling a little buzzed or something right before so that's a good attitude to have yeah teach me your ways uh and and you try and eat plant based but not completely right so everything in our house is vegan we cook vegan 100% of the time but sometimes when we're out we eat fish just because it's convenience yeah yeah um because we were just talking before we were oh gosh we haven't even talked about did we talk about the craziness of how we got to this podcast yeah did we i'm already i'm already blanking on how we started this podcast
Starting point is 00:29:41 did we talk about how your boyfriend ran to we were having just like a hell of a time getting this podcast together because i'm an idiot and forgot my card to go in the podcast machine and clayton was a sweet art and went got us a card that was twice it didn't work anyways classic yeah this is classic caitland right here All right, so Mr. Chris Harrison was telling me about this crazy party Hulu through in Beverly Hills with all the biggest reality TV stars from like every show. And now I have to watch the commercials to see what happened like everyone else. I don't usually get FOMO, but in this case, I have extreme FOMO here.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Luckily for you, Hulu has the reality TV that you love. So start your free trial today at Hulu.com. So I am a big fan of oat milk. I have it in my coffee every day. I love it. I love it with cereal. I just love, and you're saying now there's something bad in it. Well, so the brand that's really popular and it's really good.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Oatley apparently has canola oil in it and everyone's been talking about it and how you should replace it with, what's the brand? M-A-L-K. M-A-L-K. M-Molk. Oh, that's how I say milk anyways. But why is canola oil as bad for you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:01 I don't know a ton on it, but like when you Google it, it's kind of hard, you know, The information. There's trans fats and then there's like those other like saturated fats. It's like I think it's a saturate whatever the bad one. Transfass the bad one. Yeah. And it's a highly processed oil. And like I said, when you Google it, it's not that easy to find the information for whatever reason.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Right. Okay. Here's the thing. Every year it's something different, right? Every year something's good for you. Something's bad for you. Everything changes all the time. And I find it so hard to keep up with health and what you should.
Starting point is 00:31:36 and shouldn't be eating. And so I don't I don't eat meat, but I still eat fish. I dairy I'm off and on. But I'm just like, what next? What's going to be the next bad thing that we're all eating and taking it? Like it's a CBD. Nobody's done all the studies on CBD. We don't know how bad it is for you, but I'm inhaling it like a mother fuck. I am. You're the test subject. I am. I'm the guinea pig. I, I'm like, sure. But at the time, it makes, me feel good and I like CBD but edibles sure love it but it's like how we're not doing our research on that it's just you never know what's going to be yeah yeah you want to love your life and just make small adjustments where you can and just know that like I know that alcohol is
Starting point is 00:32:23 not good for me yet I continue to do this to myself it's part of my brand I have a wine label I have to drink but I genuinely enjoy wine Maybe start to, like, water to bounce it out. Yeah. If you get the water bottle, you'll be good. Will you send me one? Yeah. Is it like your thing?
Starting point is 00:32:42 It's not her brand. Oh. No. No. We'll use her coat first. You, okay. You have a... It's not my thing, but it's like, just like, I posted it out on my story for, like, a
Starting point is 00:32:52 couple weeks. And now, like, so many people have bought it. And, like, everyone in my audience is just like, we're all just drinking this water bottle. Okay. Yeah. Oh, wow. We are opposites. And I am fine with that.
Starting point is 00:33:02 Okay. So walk us through, like, a day in the life of, of, of, of, your guys is like because I mean you're I the term always makes me laugh of content creating but that's what it is yeah but I always laugh because I don't think I'm a content creator I just am an idiot on Instagram but like what do you guys do in your day from like when you get up to when you go to bed for content creating like do you document everything like do you do um like what you eat and are you always on your stories like just basically giving us giving the people what they want yeah I mean I try it's just like so hard to
Starting point is 00:33:34 balance everything, you know, because you're trying to shoot photographs for Instagram, which takes up a lot of time. And then we're trying to do videos and vlogs for YouTube, which is a ton of time. And then there's stories that you're trying to keep up on Instagram. And then I started going on TikTok. Yeah. I'm trying to make TikToks. And it's like so many things all the time that sometimes you can only like focus on one and keep one afloat. So it's like maybe all day I spend time shooting my Instagram content so I don't story that much or, you know, I'm on the vlog all day. So I don't get my Instagram content done, whatever. So it's kind of like all over the place, but it's constant.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Yeah. And what do people get when they come to your page? Like, do you know what I mean? Like beauty. What do you talk about with beauty? Do you do hair, makeup, all, everything? Yeah. I mostly do fashion.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Okay. My audience really likes like easy, affordable fashion. So I try to do a lot of that. And just like styling tips and stuff. I wear like a lot of edgy clothes. But sometimes I feel like being super girly and just doing something. like that um and then i do hair makeup and some lifestyle stuff like travel or home decor cooking oh that's cool yeah wow gosh i just people who i've had a lot of those um like do you know living
Starting point is 00:34:47 with land in she's in nashville so probably um or happily gray do you know happily gray yeah like i'm always so mind blown by how dedicated you guys are to this work because a lot of people think it's so fun and easy and like oh i want to be an influence or when I grew up, but it's so much work. So much work. And do you find that it's hard to be in the moment when you're doing those things? Because, I mean, you're constantly having to be on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:14 But I just find it like, you seem to be, like, pretty real. So do you find that you're on Instagram or something like you're having to be on? Or do you feel like it's a pretty natural thing for you? Yeah. I mean, like the way that my content is branded, especially like stories and stuff, it is pretty, like, natural and casual. so that is not as much on like it's still work to record yourself cooking your dinner rather than just cook your dinner but when you're like laid back and not like overproduced about it it's a lot easier than you know you have to get out all these equipment have this filter and everything is perfect blah blah blah yeah so it's it's somewhere in the middle I'd say yeah I just I am so as you can tell lazy that I'm like that it's like I like to just take a picture on my phone and upload it like I'm like I'm like like the whole presets thing and it's so much work oh my god it really is but that's how i mean that's how you build your business but for me i'm like i don't think people like when i do that like i think
Starting point is 00:36:13 they're like oh that's not you yeah you know like i got lucky in that way like my brand is kind of like no shit's just super casual yeah you know what you're getting out there hey is your home like mine just cluttered with stuff that you don't use anymore clothes shoes you don't wear taking up valuable closet space. Old phones hiding in a drawer. The gift your weird aunt gave you last Christmas. Come on, people, you know what I'm talking about. Well, I want to tell you about an app that you can use to sell this stuff. Mercari makes selling the stuff that you no longer use super fast and super easy. That's why it's called the selling app. And it really couldn't be simpler. You take a few picks of your stuff, add a description, and boom, goes the dynamite. Your item is listed. Then once it's
Starting point is 00:36:58 sold, Mercari emails you a shipping label and you just stick it on and send it off. No awkward meetups with strangers, no hassles. The app has over 500,000 reviews on the app store with an average of 4.8 star rating, so why not give it a try? You could sell everything from fashion to electronics, toys to sporting goods. Over 150,000 items get listed every single day, which is pretty crazy. So don't let that stuff you don't use go to waste. Sell it, ship it, and get paid with Mercari. You can find Mercari on the app stores or on Mercari.com. M-E-R-C-A-R-C-A-R-I, Mercari, the selling app. And on most of my podcasts, I do confessions. Where I make someone tell me something that's really embarrassing, that they need to get off their
Starting point is 00:37:52 chest. So does anything come to mind? Like, most embarrassing moment of your life. I'll give you one. Okay. Bailey has one. This is embarrassing. So I went to, I was going to the bathroom and I sat down and didn't realize that because, okay, so when I go to the bathroom, I put my toilet, like, lid down because I have this weird thing about the germs. Like when you flush the toilet going to everything in my bathroom, but I was so, like, space cadet and didn't put the lid up before I went to the bathroom. you feed on top of your toilet oh my gosh that must have been such a process to clean up
Starting point is 00:38:33 it wasn't great okay i have so many questions about this so when you sat down did you not feel that but you just decided to keep going that's how fogged my brain was like i just i think i had just woken up because i was so out of it that's so funny i forgot to pull down my underwear not too long ago and peed with underwear on yeah oh body suit yeah Yeah, that's hilarious. The pants and then the body suit and you're like, oh, wait, shit. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:59 That's hilarious. Are we triggering anything for you? I mean, I just am really bad at geography in general. Okay. Same. So I feel like just, you know, every day, every week, some sort of like geography-related thing comes up that I have no idea, like, where a state is or if it's a state or a city or stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Now, if you're Canadian, I'd forgive you, but you're American. Are you American, right? Yeah. Yeah. That's so funny. I did the same thing. I bought a piece of art in... Where was I?
Starting point is 00:39:29 Oh, I was laughing at the... Yeah. Where was... I was in... Oh, Asheville. Ashville, North Carolina. And I bought a piece of art and you get to put a pin
Starting point is 00:39:40 where now his art is in this state and there's pins everywhere and you get to put a pin in. And I was like, I live in Nashville. And I was like in Nevada. Like... That's how bad I am. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:39:54 That's... But I'm also Canadian. So you tell me, you tell me where Saskatoon is. I think it's by Vancouver. No. No. You can try, though. Because if you did that, I'd be very impressed.
Starting point is 00:40:07 I have no idea where that. Yeah, see, Americans don't know Canadian geography at all. No, Americans don't know anything about Canada. Yeah. Usually. But I don't even know anything about America. So that's, but what's your background? Like, where did I grow up?
Starting point is 00:40:22 Like what you're like, yeah. Yeah. Oh, um, European, mostly. Yeah, you look European. And, um, a little bit of Native American. Oh, me too. Really? Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:34 So cool. Do you get haters? Not really. Yeah. Because my page is like so much about positivity. I feel like that kind of deters people. Yeah. But on the rare occasion, um, I do.
Starting point is 00:40:44 I just really try to like treat them with kindness and like never let it get to me because obviously it's like some unhappy person somewhere. So I don't want to be mean to them back. But YouTube. is like a whole different story. YouTube has the meanest viewers. Yeah. And people end up on your stuff who are not attached to you or following you or connected to
Starting point is 00:41:02 at all. They just land on one video and they're like, oh, I hate this girl. And you're like, who the hell are you? Yeah, and they don't, but that's the thing. They don't know you. So they're just saying that because they're jealous. But they're giving you a view. But they're giving you a view.
Starting point is 00:41:13 And they'll take the view. Okay. So where can people find you on Instagram and all of the things that you do? On Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, Delaney Childs. And then on. on my blog is the styledseed.com. Okay, amazing. Well, thank you so much for coming to my hotel room
Starting point is 00:41:30 and having this thrown together podcast on the bed with me. Thank you for having me. Yeah, it was fun. It was a good way to start our day. And you know what? I'm going to go into my day with gratitude and positivity. I love that. And water and bravo.
Starting point is 00:41:42 No water. Okay, just bravo. Just bravo. And thank you to your lovely boyfriend, Clayton, for helping us with everything and getting us waters. And thank you, Bailey, for being my friend. co-hosts. No problem. And not having a seizure. Yeah, not yet. Oh, God. Let's go boxing. Thanks for listening to Ospa Vine with Caitlin Bristow.
