Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story.
Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge,
there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice.
And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am.
It's not just any audiobook.
This is a full cast performance.
So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry,
brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads Sing is Mr. Darcy.
And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything.
Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix.
Talk about a dream cast.
Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics,
and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy.
And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels
so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again.
So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen.
Podcast One presents Off the Vine Drunk Dial.
It's all about dialing digits and making questionable decisions.
Let's get it started.
Okay, this is that work?
I need to get those things.
Okay, I've been a little bit terrible at working out this summer,
but I have to tell you about this new workout I've been doing that you're going to want to try.
ASAP, Obey is the best at-home fitness offering,
so it includes live and on-demand boutique fitness classes from NYC's top fitness instructors
directly to your home, hotel office, wherever you are.
It's so useful when I'm traveling, which I feel like I always am.
To just have this right at my fingertips is so nice and I feel like I don't have to compromise on my workout.
With Obay, you get access to 14 live classes a day and 2,500 plus on-demand classes for $27 a month,
which is less than the cost of one studio fitness class.
Obay offers nine different class types to switch it up, including hit, Pilates, Dance Cardio, Sculpt, Power, Yoga, and more.
Their signature classes are all 28 minutes.
which I think is the perfect length.
So you can fit them into the busiest of schedules.
Working out from home or on the go has never been this effective, affordable, varied, efficient,
and more importantly, fun.
And it's only 28 minutes, guys.
And for those reasons, Obey is the first program you'll actually stick to and actually look forward to.

I'm super excited to announce my KB fall crawl tour.
I've been so excited to share that with you guys
because I did the East Coast in the spring.
Now I'm going to the West Coast.
Wish I could go everywhere,
but that's pretty much the goal eventually.
My goal is to have a tour bus and tour the countryside.
So kicking things off with Seattle,
then heading to the hometown Vancouver,
back down to Portland, San Francisco, L.A.,
Brea, Phoenix, Austin, and ending in Dallas.
I love that this is my chance to meet
All of my Vinoes.
If you guys want to buy tickets, you can go to my website, Caitlin Bristow.com.
Hello, Vinoes, and welcome to this week's of Drunk Dial, which is not going to be
drunk for us tonight.
This is sober dial for us.
We're not a detox, boring.
That's not a detox.
It's more of a like, let's not get shit faced during the week and maybe have a couple
of glasses wine or the weekend.
It's a cleanse.
It's not a cleanse.
Cleanse is like detoxing your body and like doing juices.
and getting rid of everything.
Yeah, but we're fasting every day and not drinking.
And for you and I, I would call that a cleanse.
I can't believe I'm fasting.
Never in my life.
I am like the person that wakes up and I'm hungry.
For everyone out there, we're talking about intermittent fasting.
So that's when you only eat for eight hours in a 24-hour period.
So we have chosen to go 12 to 8.
And it's the funniest thing, Caitlin called me at 1107 today and said, I can't wait another 53 minutes.
What do I do?
Did I have that good of math that quick?
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, I just, I never, I never knew if I believed in this or not, and I'm going to test, test it, I guess, these next few weeks.
But to me, I'm like, well, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
It really fuels me for the day.
I can't not eat and then go work out.
I have to eat something.
I don't know.
To me, I'm like, is this a stupid fad diet?
It could be a fad diet.
And that's, you know, we'll talk more about fad diets.
I do have a buddy who's a physicist who is a PhD in physics and he's telling me about, yes,
the benefits to like your body fat, but also the benefits to the manner in which your body repairs
its cells and how that actually has a long-term impact on avoiding certain diseases and things
like that. So a lot of people have different theories on it.
Running also helps that. Running helps that. But then running hurt your knees, you know, you can't
want them more. That's what I keep. Every time it's something like now,
Adamami beans aren't healthy for you. They've got too much soy in them.
Fad diets are crazy though, right? I mean, my buddy did keto.
Yeah. What is that? You can't eat carbs?
Okay. So I could be wrong with that because I am not a health wizard, but my understanding
of it is that you use certain sustainable fats that serve as the purpose of carbs. So your energy
is actually provided not by like sugars or carbs, but by fats. But you have to be working out.
You have to be working out. And I remember one of my buddies was doing it. And he was eating,
like a ton of calories and a lot of fat and I don't know that he was doing the work
I associated with it he was putting on a lot of weight from it so everyone has different opinions
of fad diets but it's all about your happiness it's all about your happiness for me I'm
I mentally feel better when I work out I was going to say it's funny you say because I am not
happy like what you would think you'd be happy as a pig and shit when you're eating like hell
drink and staying out late I mean I am for a while but after like I mean we've been
eating like shit and drinking every night for going on two months now to me it's yeah it's all
short term though it's like the little you get like a little high from it and it feels good you
have glass wine it feels good but like long term i just don't feel really good and that's what
my buddy dr paul will talk about later he's the one that talks about like sustainability he's single
too he's single and he's a stud but it's it's more about like how do you break a habit and sustain
it as opposed to like what we're doing right now like four days fast not drinking and then this
weekend get bummered.
They're lubed up.
Get all lubed up this weekend.
People haven't heard that podcast yet, so they'll love it when it comes.
Stay tuned this week for a lubed up conversation with Derek Pett.
So good.
So yeah, we were just in New York for the U.S. Open.
Go Canada.
That was so exciting.
No, don't.
It was amazing.
You're an honorary Canadian, and a small part of you had to have been rooting for that 19-year-old
beauty.
It was amazing, and at my little of my competitive side, I lost the bet.
So I had to pay the bet.
Wait, you still owe me a nice bottle of wine.
I paid up.
Bottle of wine at Carbone, and that was just one of the dinners.
Yeah, but I don't remember that.
That was when Kate passed out at dinner.
I didn't pass out.
I was looking at you saying, I need to go.
But you don't remember.
Yes, I do.
You just said you don't.
No, I was exaggerating for the pod.
Okay.
I'm trying to make the people at home and the giggle.
Okay.
Laugh at me all you want.
I don't know what happened to me that night, though.
I think everyone out there could understand.
It was like you were fine.
You were drinking.
You were drinking.
Things were great.
You went on live on Instagram.
And then it was like, boom.
We sat down at dinner and you were out.
Yeah.
I don't know what happened.
I think I was just tired.
I was exhausted.
I was drained.
I had been drinking.
And I don't know.
I didn't pass it.
Whatever.
Anyways.
Yeah, but remember what you did?
So back U.S. Open.
Yeah.
It was to see this 19-year-old play.
To see Megan Markle.
Oh, yeah.
To see Megan Markle across the court was just magical.
She just, her presence was felt around.
Around the court.
The court.
And it was, that's the coolest thing.
Like, I've been at all different sporting events.
Never been to a tennis match.
Yeah, me too.
Like, elegance and character behind it was incredible.
Yeah, I'm used to hockey games.
Everyone's like chugging beers and like, woo, and like chanting you suck.
And like, this one was like, hold your applause.
Ladies, gentlemen.
Gentlemen.
what does she say if you start being loud quiet she would say quiet please please please
yeah please please meanwhile at the bill's mafia talguards are smashing each other through four tables
yeah it's tennis is very eloquent yeah but to see her battle and fight the way she did like what an
enduring game against serena and the best part after it was the press conference because she handled
it with such grace and the funniest thing like Canadians are known for just being like over the top nice
like oh sorry sorry sorry so nice you know and she literally said like uh no the the reporter
or anchor or whatever he is interviewer uh asked it said what was the toughest part about
this was the biggest challenge what was the biggest challenge and she said uh the crowd everyone
wanted serena to win so i'm really sorry so i'm really sorry she apologized it was the sweetest
it really was just she was just so humble and she was just so grateful to be out there and she
worked so hard and she totally deserved that win and uh you know and what also struck me is 19 years
old one day changed her whole life first canadian to win a grand slam and she was presented with a check
i think it was 3.25 million dollars at 19 like talk about a detour she peaked what is she going
to do for now or maybe she'll have a serena run that's a great two weeks she'll be the next serena
yeah that'd be cool anyways so getting back on track here we've been
been, you know, two days now.
Two days of not drinking.
Three days, three days.
Three.
I did a very, very challenging workout in Nashville today.
What else?
You've been working out every day.
So New York is boring is what we're saying.
Yeah, but so New York, New York was great.
We were out late.
We were dancing.
We were partying.
We got to hang out.
I went to the U.S. Open.
We got to hang out with some really good friends.
We got to meet up with Tyler.
I had lunch with Tyler.
Caitlin joined us after.
pleasure hanging out with him to all drink of water that one hey easy buddy i agree though
stud though right he's super nice yeah yeah really nice guy so it was nice it was a fun time sure
the only thing we missed was going to a show because i need to see moulon rush yes my brother would
be proud of that plug so i thought we'd do a couple can you not uh can you not games
shit i was like where you going with this we'll do it a can you not
segment about getting back on track.
Okay.
People, my vino's had a few good ones.
Okay, let's hear.
Okay.
Jessica Jansen, I hope she's talking to herself because this is a can you not that I do.
Can you not say diet starts tomorrow so I'll eat everything I see tonight.
That was us the other night, remember?
That was so us.
We got home from a long travel day and we're like, all right, everything starts tomorrow.
And then we're like, well, we should probably order a fetuccini alfredo, garlic toast, pizza, and what else we get?
Pasta.
That's Fettuccini.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Well, yeah, well, because we get spaghetti.
Oh, yeah, and spaghetti and Caesar salad.
And we only ate about a quarter of it.
It doesn't matter.
You know what I liked about our rule?
Is we knew if that stayed in the fridge, it would go down.
Don't admit this.
This makes me sad.
That we threw out food.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What a waste.
I was a waste, but like we had, like we had to.
We should have, we should have brought it downtown Nashville.
Yeah, we should have.
I feel really guilty about it because that is something I've done.
We should have done that.
One time it was so cold out in Nashville.
and I went around and I got chick-fil-a sandwiches
and brought them around to, oh, that's what we should have done.
I'm always care.
Every time I pass someone that's homeless,
especially there's a ton in Seattle,
I always think about like,
it would be interesting to do a do dockey series on how did this,
how did you get?
There's so much out there, right?
Like, how did that happen?
Yeah.
And what I have had this conversation with people,
most people tell me that a lot of it is mental illness, of course,
but a lot of it's actually decision.
Yeah, I told you that.
Was it you?
Yeah, because you lived in Mac Hoover and you do, yeah.
And I do the sleepout with the Covenant House, and I've learned so much from them that it was a personal decision that they feel safer on the streets and then their home and then it just goes downhill from there.
What a fascinating now.
It's not downhill for everyone.
Some of them come out and go to the Covenant House and get the help they need and get back on track.
But it would be fascinating to know where it all started.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And how we can help.
We can help by not chucking out pounds of food.
Fetuccini Alfredo.
Okay, Haley Smith says, can you not look at me weird carrying around my gallon-sized water bottle?
That's me.
I would be looking at you funny.
You don't drink water.
I don't drink water.
So I'd be like, how could you even get that?
How many times of day do you pee?
That's why I don't like drinking water, too, I think.
I'm just like, the peeing thing is so inconvenient to me.
Do you have a break the seal thing when you drink and pee?
It's not, that's a, that's a...
You think that's a myth?
Yeah, because...
I don't think that's a myth.
It's just that you're filling up with more alcohol than you ever would in your day.
So it's got to come out.
It's not breaking the seal.
It's just that your first three drinks caught up to you.
Right.
So now it just keeps going.
That makes sense.
Again, health, not my expertise.
Is that health in the health category?
Of course, health sciences.
Okay, I'm so basic and I love, love, love the fall season.
I'm so excited that it's almost here.
And the new trends and the change in season.
I just want to wear everything.
I don't know about you guys.
Animal prints, different florals, coesies, all the amazing colors of the season.
But I don't see myself wearing these things.
a ton outside the fall, and I don't want to spend a whole lot on trends that may not last
beyond the season. So thankfully, I discovered Haverdash. Haverdash is a new clothing service that
lets you try and wear new clothes every month. And if you want to add a dash of color, new print,
completely new style, Haver Dash is for you. For just $59 a month, you can experiment with all

Okay. Harley Bentley. What?
Sick name. I mean, that's a power. Gangster. Can you not stare at me at the gym when I'm trying to just work out in peace? Are you talking about creepy dudes?
Yeah, I mean.
Girl, I feel you. I'm just kidding. Nobody looks at me.
That's the number one red flag. If you are getting hit on by a guy at a gym, run. Yeah.
That is not a place.
No, I disagree with that. No way.
Well, why not? You think Bumbles better? You think going on to.
TV is better?
The gym's not an acceptable place to meet someone?
Why do I feel that?
I feel like, you know why?
Because there's three places that I don't like to be.
And I'm just making this about like my personal experience.
I don't like to be social on a plane.
I don't like to be social in a grocery store.
And I don't like to be social in the gym.
So for some reason when people are super social in those settings,
it's more of just a my lens thing, which is probably totally wrong.
I'm just like, stop.
I put out a sweet once being like genuinely curious.
Yes, do you like to talk to your neighbor on planes?
And I got so many reactions.
And I was saying, I don't.
Like, no, no, no, no, no.
Don't talk to me on a plane.
And all these girls would respond and be like,
well, if you were sitting next to me on a plane,
I would chat your ear off.
And you'd be like, don't.
Just give me the scratchy gang sign and we'll call it a day.
Cheers me with your wine, sure.
I don't want to talk to it.
I'll talk to.
I'll go to a networking event, talk to every single person there.
Oh, yeah.
And a freaking plane, I do not.
Don't talk to me.
Because an airplane for me is a recharge moment.
It's when I meditate.
It's when I catch up on emails.
It's when I just like can relax, take a nap.
It's I do not want to be social.
I'm on so many times of the day.
Let me have my airplane moment.
I agree.
Can you not?
Can you not own a wine label while you're trying to detox?
Because all I see is wine all damn day.
I know.
That's not easy.
We're getting another shipment tomorrow.
Another can you not?
I challenge everyone out there to do it.
So Dr. Paul, we're going to get them on.
him and I are working on a program called Restar.
We kind of balance each other out.
He is an MD in cardiology, and I have a background in finance, accounting, and banking.
He has challenged me this week because he's working on sustainability and breaking habits
to write down everything I eat and drink.
First of all, it's very difficult.
Second of all, you'll last like five days.
After a day of doing it, it is somewhat repulsive, like reading it all back.
I'm like, I use way too much.
I probably eat too much sugar.
or drink or eat sugar.
I use substitutes.
I use like Splenda and stuff all the time.
So he's going to like analyze everything I'm eating and then break it down the good,
the bad, the ugly with it.
So it'll be interesting to hear about that.
But write down for one day, I challenge just one day.
I've done that before.
But then as soon as you write it down, you're more conscious about what you're putting
in your body and then you're healthier that day all of a sudden.
That's what I do anyways.
I drink way too much coffee.
I'll learn that.
No, you don't.
I drink like four cups a day.
You drink three.
Yeah.
Three to four.
Oh, that.
What?
I had the, um, we, I just made that, I just made that spaghetti squash chalmy and it's so good, but I've got like the garlic onion burps.
What do you, do you call that a burp?
Teradactyl.
Backwards burp.
Allison Sheets says, can you not get on the cardio machine right next to me when there's an open row of 20 in the same, of the same machine.
I hate that.
I like that.
I like her.
Can you not?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that one's good.
So true.
Same thing with a stair climber.
I'm like, there's three free ones right there.
Why are you sweating next to me?
Right.
Especially, like, it's one thing.
Like, we're sweating here.
Don't get too close.
Also, can you not?
I appreciate people in the privacy of their own home.
They want to do like a little flex off in the mirror, maybe check certain things.
Guys at a, like, guys are girls at a public gym that are sitting there flexing and like do it all all the time.
Like, please.
I can't.
I don't do well at gyms.
I do well at like classes.
Yeah.
Don't do about gyms.
Okay.
Tasha Scott, can you not always bring treats and snacks to work while I'm trying to lose weight?
That's fair.
That's such an office thing, right?
Such a, yeah.
In corporate banking, in the cafeteria, that freaking table was covered with, like, bliss.
See, and I have no.
Pies, everything.
Oh, wow.
Donuts.
I'm not a donut guy.
Oh, I'm a big donut guy.
Would you rather have a crispy cream donut or a Big Mac?
Beyond me.
Beyond me.
Me too.
Like, I'd rather do something like that.
Yeah.
But I still would really want that donut.
I feel like I'm even.
Mm.
Okay.
No, I want a donut.
Mm.
Donuts.
Kelly Harp says, to my period, can you not make me stuffed carbs and almond butter in my mouth for a full week every month?
Hey, girlfriend, I stuff carbs in my mouth and almond butter every day.
That's like my go-to meal, carbs and almond butter.
Yeah.
You know what I know is when we were with your parents for the month?
Can you not just provide shitty food at my disposal?
Because if it's not there, I'm not going to eat it.
But when it's all sitting there, I can't say, no, like your mom's got so much good stuff.
Like the Twizzlers and the gummy bears and the pepperoni snacks.
Yeah, she's so good.
I couldn't say, no, I was just hammer it.
I'm down.
And that's how I gained 10 pounds.
Yeah, I mean, we were, we just crushed.
I gained 10 pounds.
You look fantastic.
You were like, how do I address this?
How do I address it?
You look fantastic.
We can't really tell that I did.
because it's all in my little tummy down here and maybe in my butt,
maybe a little old chickies, but you know what?
I honestly don't believe that you gain 10 pounds.
I thought that I gained weight and I came back and I was about.
Really?
Because I thought I didn't gain that much weight and then I got on the scale and realized I did.
It's not a big deal.
No.
Because those were those two months, I had the best time ever.
Yeah, that was.
And I'm back on track.
So who cares?
You back.

all the time it's the first place i lose weight and the last place to gain like can't i just gain
weight in my boobs i can't participate in this conversation
I can't relate to that.
Well, and if you said, yeah, I'd be like,
don't you want my boobs here?
I always ask you, I'm like, do you like my small boobs?
I do.
I do like my small boobs.
Okay, we've got some vinyl questions to wrap it up.
We're boring when we're sober, aren't we?
I'm having a great time.
Okay, I'm having a great time to you.
I'm just being insecure.
I'm sure we're much more fun when we're drinking.
No, I don't think so.
But I'm having a great time.
This is real life time, right?
Yeah.
It is.
Yeah.
Okay.
Very relatable.
Like, look at our day today.
We're on diets, not drinking.
We're going to play cards tonight.
I don't like the diet word.
What do you want to call it?
A health kick.
Okay.
Yeah.
A health kick.
Trumov in Nashville.
Tim McGraw owns it with one of my girlfriends, soon to be husbands worth.
kicks my butt.
I need to take you to one of those workouts.
Okay.
Let's hear about it.
Health kick.
Let's do it.
All right.
So, Megan Amaral says, I'm trying to get back into a routine of working out in the morning.
I work at a gym so you'd think it'd be easy, but it's not.
Do you have any tips for getting yourself up in the morning?
I always tell myself I'm going to get up, but when it comes time to do so, I hit snooze.
We are all victims to the snooze button, Megan.
We all are.
You just, you can't hit snooze.
you go into deeper sleeps is what I find.
As soon as that alarm goes off, you just got to bounce up.
Because as soon as I hit snooze, I go into deeper sleeps.
I think you got to figure out what drives you, right?
Set a coffee alarm so that your coffee pot has an alarm and it starts making the coffee
40s so you smell it and you want to get out of bed and have it.
I mean, that's a great idea.
But I think the problem with those, those are like Band-Aids.
The bigger problem is like I talked to my dad.
He works out every day.
I said, why don't you work out in the morning?
I just can't do it.
So you've got to find the deeper thing.
Are you capable of working out in the morning?
And if you are, like, you know that you can actually, once you're there, get into it,
you got to say, like, what is it that's going to drive me?
For me, when I had difficulty, I don't like letting people down.
So I found a workout partner.
And he was always there.
My man, John Ogden, 6.30.
So I just didn't want to let him down.
That's such a good one.
You got to dig deeper than the alarm and figure out, like, what is it that's really going to get you there?
Yeah.
That's a good call, actually.
Some people just aren't meant to work out in the morning.
and they can push themselves to do it after work.
I need to get my day started with the workout.
If I'm going to work out, I can't do it later.
Yeah.
This is a deep conversation we had at dinner at Carbone.
I think you would remember this part.
Stop.
We talked about like the psyche of habits.
Yeah.
And we'll get into a deeper conversation of this with Paul.
Yeah, we're going to bring Dr. Paul on the podcast to talk about all these health things
and what else.
But yeah, just so we're going to talk about all different health things, fad diets.
And also he is single and he's a cardiologist.
in New York City.
So we're kind of contemplating making him the Dr. Pauler.
The doctor pauler.
Oh, or his last name is Sapia.
So maybe Sappel.
Sapeler?
Sapeler.
I like the doctor.
Doctor.
It's a good one.
Doctaler.
Yeah.
Dr.
Paul.
Dr.
Paul.
Okay.
Anyways.
But he talks a lot about the psyche of what makes you, like, what drives
you and how you kind of has to have to customize approach to each person.
so like for me I'm so I hate going to the doctors I'm so nervous I do that like he wants to
break down that psyche and like figure out how to do it yeah and then also like I could tell like
I know though if I got my blood work back like so like diets and stuff I'm kind of motivated I'm
kind of not I kind of at the end of the day is as bad as this is I only diet and work out so I
like look better like so I look better what doesn't make you yeah okay that's like the honest
truth right that's why everybody works no it's not
Some people do it for health.
To feel better.
You said look better or feel better?
Yeah.
No, I was saying look better, I feel like.
I feel like that's my motivation, which used to not, right?
I was in sports and college sports.
It was all about that.
Now I'm like, I just want to feel look good.
But if you gave me a breakdown though of like my, if I got my blood taken and like my sugars were off the charts or my cholesterol was off the charts, like to me at the core, that would make me really drill into it.
Really?
that. So like I don't know what that might not do it for you. No. So I think his whole theory is like each person is like there's a trigger there and you've got to find out how to address it and how to really attack it. I obviously have a little bit of a trigger with like wanting to look good. Of course. I don't think that's a bad thing. No. Take it to an unhealthy, you know. Yeah. But I think I think I like to work out because I just can see my body aging in my 30s and getting weaker. And I want to be a young mom.
And I want to be, like, able to go running with my kids and keep up with them.
And I feel like you hear stories that giving birth is actually easier when you're in shape.
And so I'm thinking more like long-term.
And, yeah, a small part of what I look like.
I mean, a pretty good amount.
It's all of it combined, I feel like.
But I think it's custom to each person.
Yeah, that's true.
All right.
Every car comes with a share of stories that ding in your bumper when you nervously picked up a first date.
the luxury package you got after a big promotion or the mileage you saved by riding your bike
all summer. While you cannot put a price tag on your stories, now with True Car, you can at least
find out what your car's worth when it's time to sell or trade it in. So just go to True Car.
Simply enter your license plate number and watch how your car's details pop up. Then all you do
is answer a few simple questions. Like if you have navigation, a moonroof, you can watch as they bump
up your value. If you have high mileage, you already knew it was going to cost you. But now you know
how much it dings your wallet so that you can plan ahead. So once you're finished,
you'll get a true cash offer sent in minutes, which you can take to a local certified dealer
to cash out or trade in. So when you're ready to experience a better way to sell or trade in
your car, check out true car today. True cash offer not available in all areas. Kelsey Skinner wants
to know, how do you combat cravings when you're trying to eat healthy? I start and then a few
days in, I crave everything. And I think that, to me, my answer to that is don't deprive
yourself, you know? So like if you want chocolate after dinner, have one small square of dark
chocolate. Another tip I used to do was I would put one scoop of cocoa powder that has zero
sugar in peppermint tea and it would taste like chocolate peppermint chocolate. Yeah, oh, that's
good.
chewing gum always helps snacking on like carrots or celery just i always like to just stay full but
with healthy things yeah i agree alternatives are good right like so we were talking today like sweet tooth
like grab some organic peanut butter and take a just a spoonful of that like whatever it might be again
i'm not the health expert but these are things i do i look for like alternatives right and the other
thing is like at the end of the day it's just you got to have like discipline right discipline sucks
but discipline's important in every aspect of life, relationship, professionally, independently,
individually.
Like, I think discipline is just a huge.
Yeah, kind of test yourself.
Yeah.
But don't deprive yourself, please.
Don't deprive yourself.
That's not good for you at all.
Everything in moderation, too.
I'm a big moderation guy.
Yeah.
Okay.
Alex Kirtis.
Kirtis.
Yes.
Wants to know, tips on eating healthy while traveling.
What do you do?
Well, we don't.
This is a great podcast for Dr. Paul.
Yeah, yeah, we'll bring that up on his.
Yeah.
Okay, okay, you'll like this one.
Amanda Talley asks, what's the safest and healthiest way to reset from a bad few weeks of junk food and drinks?
I'm not going to drink some mystery juice and end up on the toilet for three days straight,
but I'd like to reset and get back on track with some healthy eating habits after.
So I think for me, anytime I need to reset, it's small goals.
So I think you've got to make small attainable goals that makes sense.
Right, for staying motivated and everything.
Like you've got to start somewhere.
And I think that's what you get.
That's my plan.
Small goals, build off the motivation, continue to move forward.
Yeah.
And I think a lot of people want to know how to eat healthy when you're like out and around friends
and like, you know, going out to dinners and still wanting to be social.
But I think you just be aware of, you can talk to the waiter.
I worked in restaurants for so many years.
You can talk to them and be like, hey, can you actually just like, like, you know,
Like instead of frying this in butter, can you just steam the vegetables?
Can you not add added salt?
You can definitely find little ways to still enjoy your meal with friends with just taking away some of the shit out of it.
There you go.
Small goals and boundaries, right?
Like I think you do have to have some binary things like yes and knows, do's and don'ts, things you allow yourself and you won't.
Yeah.
And I think this is a good tease into the podcast that we can do with your friend and see if he's available.
See what kind of tips and tricks he's got up his sleeve and talk.
a little bit more into the health side of things.
Absolutely.
So I think with him, he's got a lot of life hacks.
He lives in a hospital, right?
And he sees just really devastating things every day
and things that people could have done to avoid him.
And I love his quote when he sits there and we talk about it
because there's aspects of like finance and his student debt
and how he's purchasing his car and when he's looking at real estate stuff.
He doesn't have a clue about.
And when it comes to health sciences,
I literally can barely spell it.
So we kind of compliment each other well, but one of his biggest things that I'll just never forget is when he was telling me a story about this 65-year-old CEO walks in and, you know, in 65 years old, or 65 years old for 65 years, he's treated his body so poorly, but he wants a fix in 20 minutes.
And his whole purpose is that you just can't get a fix in 20 minutes for 65 years of poor behavior.
And he can go into a dialogue of what you could do now to prevent.
yourself from being in that position that's such a good point too like even with like money you can you know
doing little things here and there to to save up for later it's there's like so many stats out there
of like if you put a certain amount of money in your bank every week like something small by the time
you're this you know the same thing with with um what you're saying about what you can do for your
health you think back like I bet you a year ago some people listening were like god I wish I would
have got on like what I you know got on the health train when I wanted to and I
had the motivation. But look back, you would have been there now. Right. If you just would have
committed to that. And you think a year is so far away, but it's not. Right. And I've been,
I've been doing like a lot of studying lately. And I say this a lot, restart, reset, restart,
and if you think about it, every day as Americans, whether we know it or not, we are restarting, we are
resetting. Millennials are taking four jobs in their first 10 years of work, right? Credit card
debt has never been so high. Eight of 10 people are carrying and they're strapped with debt.
divorce rate is at 50% the list goes out and those aren't all pretty statistics but at the end of the
day all of us whether it's our health wealth or happiness we are having to restart the question is
are we resetting ourselves when these predicaments come up to put ourselves in the best position
and it's just there's a lot going on in today's world and it's you just got to manage the controllables
I always think I'm making sense when I talk and then I hear you and I'm like
I wish I could have made that much so I'm just like I'm just like yeah cool you are the
funniest wittiest badass chick I've ever met in my life well yeah and you're very well
spoken and very intelligent and very cute okay that's all we got we'll we'll continue
this next week actually I was in New York podcasting with a few fun guests so I hope you
guys enjoy those podcasts this week.
Can I ask a quick question?
Okay.
So bring, if we bring Dr. Paul on and you do the Paul or Paul Bachelor, how do people that
are interested like to go on a date, how does that work?
Well, we'll have to set that up.
Okay.
So we'll figure that out.
Let's first find out if people are interested, which I'm sure they already are.
Okay.
Drop his Instagram name.
Okay, so it's Dr. D-O-C-T-A.
Oh, no.
It ruins it.
Underscore Sapp.
No.
Dr. Sapp.
And I told him.
I go, you got to change that.
He goes, I know.
He's going to be, it's going to be Doc Sapp.
Because his last name's Sapia.
Dr. Sapia.
See you later.
Maybe you won't like them.
