Hey.
Welcome to Off the Vine.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow.
Today, my guest is someone who I was in.
always friends with. It's true. Due to a toxic relationship that led us astray, we had inaccurate
assumptions of each other. But today we talk about how we've made amends. I feel really happy about it.
Living with those types of grudges is not healthy, especially when it is false. So my guest is
country music's most sought after personal trainer, Aaron Oprea. She is so high energy and positive
that I just kick myself for believing what someone else told me about her. We clear the air. We talk about
her success as a celebrity personal trainer, her time serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, and making
history when she was appointed to lead the first female platoon in a war zone, her new fitness app,
how you can fit fitness into a busy schedule, her hilarious confession that makes my heart
just melt every time, and especially all you mom is out there who, you know, whose time is
already stretched as is. We talk about her books and a fitness offering that she's doing in
Turks and Kikos. I want to go. I hope this episode.
reminds you to take someone else's opinion with a grain of salt and to make amends wherever
you can because life is too short to live with that crap weighing over you. So enjoy.
Hi. What's up? How are you? I am so good. How are you? Awesome. Welcome back. Oh my gosh.
Every time I go somewhere like it seems to be for way too long of a period of time and then I come home and I'm like,
Why do I leave? I love at home so much. Well, because you have a thing called a job.
Oh, yeah. There's that. That old thing. Oh, right, right, right. Wait, did you see my post other day?
Oh, yes, I did. Yes, I did. It was about something about dogs. Tell me again, I forget.
It was like the purpose of going for a walk is the Sammy dogs you can pet.
Yeah. Yes. So it's kind of the same thing. That's hilarious. You know, it's funny is I didn't even realize I had the sweater on like to podcast with you. I've had it on all day.
And then I was coming on here, I'm like, oh, this is perfect because you, like, are obsessed with dogs the same way I am and working out. So it's perfect.
Right. I think I have too many dogs. Is there a such thing? No. Yes, there is, actually.
No, I want to live on a farm full of dogs. I say it all the time. I'm like, sometimes in this world, I'm like, do I want kids or do I just want all dogs?
Dogs. Yeah. Like, and you can work out with dogs. Actually, you work out with your kids now, too. Um, they're getting ripped.
right i'm so excited for them they have both them so did you know hunter's a trainer now
oh yeah trained her for almost two years and uh hayden's working on soccer but you need to
put in a little size so starting we started january 6 and he gained 21 pounds i'm so proud of
holy crap oh that's awesome yeah yeah because i saw his before and after pictures that you posted
and i was like wow good for him that is incredible we should just address the elephant in the room
of like what like our history like what when we've been
became friends, how we became friends,
why we had to take a break from being friends,
and then now we're friends again.
We're back to friends again.
It's like around, Robin.
It's so funny because I feel like I just don't really have that with people where I like,
I don't usually go through like bad situations with somebody.
So it made me so uncomfortable because obviously I think everyone knows that Erin and I did
City Strong with Sean when, you know, back, I don't even know how many years ago that was now.
but it was me, you and Sean all working together doing like the, you know, the city strong
tour and we're, you know, all doing our thing. And then, you know, stuff happens. But what I like
to talk about is the fact that toxic relationships can can make friendships be ruined. You know what I
mean? I was just talking to these two girls on my podcast about how they thought one of their good
girlfriends was crazy because the girl or the guy that she was with made her seem that way. And then
they weren't friends with her because blah, blah, blah, but all is to say that I feel like
when you're in a toxic relationship, which I clearly was, you have only two people's side of
the story. And I wasn't allowed to really get your side of the story. So moving forward,
we decided, hey, we're actually, we've always liked each other and been fine. I know. And we just
So we started out as friends. Yeah. And then Sean Booth came in the, you know, we intertwined him
into our friendship and then all became work partners. And, well, it went very south with
Sean Booth and I. Yes. And because you were in a relationship with him, I was no longer,
it was easier just to cut ties completely than to try to pull you in the middle. I was not going
to try to break up your relationship. That wasn't my goal. And I just kept my mouth shut and just
said, peace out. And that's exactly what I did. And then when you guys were separated,
and I felt like enough time had passed that it was time for us to sit down. And we had
had a great conversation. Yeah, to sit down and talk about as adults, clear the air and move
forward. Yeah. Now, Sean Booth and I, never. No, that's just not going to, that would be like me
and him trying to move forward. It's just not going to happen. There's people that we, you know,
experience in our lives. And I always say people are there for a season, a reason, or a lifetime.
He was there for a season for both of us. And a reason to make us realize like, okay,
that's just, it's not a good, you know, functioning relationship.
And that's okay to cut those people out.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So say if it doesn't grow, you cut it.
Yeah, exactly.
Absolutely.
So here we are now getting to podcasts together.
We did have such a great dinner and conversation.
And I'm so happy that we're like back on the same page because I did miss you in our
friendship.
And I'm excited to work out with you again and come see your freaking studio.
Your house and your studio for people who don't follow you on Instagram, they have to.
because one, you are very inspiring with your working out.
It's, it actually makes me heal.
I'm like, I've never seen someone enjoy working out that much.
You're always smiling and dancing and having the best time.
It's amazing.
But how can you not have a good time when you put on good music?
Because not like, everyone's like, how are you always motivated?
I was like, I'm not always motivated.
I always say when you're not motivated, that's when discipline has to kick in.
Yes.
Once the discipline kicks in, I put on the good music.
I put on good music.
I dance for a minute, get my vibe going.
and then I'm ready to they're ready to work out and if I can't if that doesn't work I go for a walk
and a lot of times when you go for a walk then you're ready to work out and you're ready to move your
body and then that energy comes out of you and then I'm happy it's like playtime for me once I get
going it's so hard to make me stop I'll stay out there for in my studio for hours and Sean's like
we're late to any time I'm in my studio we have to be we're going late because I love it in there
so much well it is you have to come play I I will absolutely every time I see your
I was like that looks like a place I would actually want to spend time in and it's it's you've made your
what is it your garage that you made into a fitness studio and it looks just so inviting and fun and
you just your energy in it I'm like I do want to come play there absolutely come on baby let's go
make it a party tequila I was going to say I mean tequila after not before no no I can't
but that's something I always love about you is that your your fitness is like beyond
being a personal trainer like you obviously have been a personal trainer to so many country stars
and celebrities and if you if like i said people for for them to go follow your instagram because
you can just see and feel from your instagram and videos that fitness to you is more than just
being in shape it is a complete mindset for you it's a lifestyle and you were you started when you
were what 18 years old yes that's so crazy i'm 43 now and i started training at 18 and
And then I did that for a couple of years and joined the Marine Corps crazy enough.
Yes.
Yes.
What was that when you were 20?
20.
Yeah.
And you're crazy.
It's actually, I feel like I've lived two separate lives.
Like, I feel like my whole world has just been like, well, that was my life.
Sometimes I look back and I'm like, how is that my life?
It is crazy because I don't know, like people who follow you obviously know, but for people listening who don't know, you serve nine years in the Marine Corps, which you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you.
did two tours in Iraq, right? Correct. That is like, okay, first of all, obviously from everybody
listening to myself, thank you for your service. And second of all, like, hell yeah, you like made
history as a woman when you were the first female platoon attached to, like, what, you tell me,
because I'm going to maybe butcher it. So my first, my first tour, I, um, I did, I shot crew served
weapons, like 50 cows, Mark 19s. I was basically a crew, a gunner on top of vehicles. I did
securities for convoys. And then my second tour, we went over, and that was a big invasion of
Fallujah. A lot of people don't know. They're like whatever, but it was a big invasion of
Fallujah. And they needed women to be attached to the infantry, which had never happened in the
Marine Corps. And so they formed this all-female platoon. Well, my job was actually searching.
Anyways, they needed females to search females attached to the infantry. And so they formed this
all female platoon. And so I led that flatoon. And then we each floor broke up every day into different
checkpoints around Fallujah. Wow. And we searched thousands of females every day looking for
suicide bombers and contraband and all the good stuff. All the fun stuff. It's crazy. It's crazy because
I don't know if I was just so naive growing up in Canada and then moving to the States and hearing your
stories and certain things because I obviously know all this about you. But I was like, I swear I was like so
naive to think that that was just like in the crazy movies that I watched like you lived it and for nine
years which obviously takes discipline and passion and everything but you must have had so many
challenges but like obviously so many life lessons what was the biggest challenge that you had in those
nine years so I would say the biggest challenge is being a woman in the Marine Corps obviously
not the easiest thing yeah it's changing now so actually so the whole reason I joined the
ring for is based off the movie gi jane if you guys haven't watched that movie she's my idol like i love
dimmy more but did me more the character yeah the character like gai jane is my hero in life like that's all i
i'm going to join i'm going to join the navy seals blah blah blah well really women can't do all that
there's a lot of things that are closed to women and so my goal when i was in there is i just wanted to be
treated as an equal and it's not the easiest thing to do yeah but i wasn't i wasn't like oh my god i'm not
created i'm not treated equal like that didn't bother me but i was willing to fight to get to be treated
the same it's like my i don't know which deployment is but i got left behind because i was woman i was
in a job it's called mOS so my job was mostly all men there's two females and they left the
females behind they said women can't go and i was like wait i did the same training as every one of
you guys and you're going to leave me and they're like yeah you can't go well
There's this thing called you request mass.
So you ask the next, the higher up and the higher up and you fight for whatever you're trying to fight for.
And I just requested mass and I won.
And so I got, so that my goal was to, so I'd say the hardest thing was to be treated equal.
But you know what?
I don't say, oh, poor, poor me.
Like I didn't, I wasn't the same.
All I did was work hard, earned respect.
I always say respect isn't given.
It's earned.
I work my butt off.
I proved myself.
And I was fine.
Not an easy task, especially being attached to the infantry.
Guys wanted no part of females out there.
We had to prove ourselves every day to show that we were just as good as them.
We could do what they could do.
Yeah.
But it's not for all women, though.
It's definitely not for all women.
Of course, I couldn't.
I couldn't do it.
I would hate every second of it, but I like bow down to people who can actually do that,
especially for nine years.
That's such a long time.
and like I just I'm always just like that's I bow down to moms all the time let alone what you
have done while being a mom like everything you've accomplished what do you think the like what do
you think that experience did for you as a person going into your career path now I would say
the biggest thing it taught me was structure and discipline yeah my work days are minute to minute
it's like one thing it's like everything is like exactly on the minute it's timed
to the all day long. My schedule starts at 3.30 in the morning. I get up and it's so structured. My eating. Everything is very structured for me. And I think the structure and discipline, 100% comes from my Marine Corps time. Like I would have never gotten. My plan was to never, I was going to retire. I was never getting out of the military. But I was going to lose custody. I was getting ready to leave from my third deployment. I was going to lose custody. Wow. And because I was not, I had full, pretty much full custody. Yeah. And they said, well, my attorney's like, well, you'll never have full.
custody again if you go again. And so I had to make that choice. Do I choose my career? Do I choose
to have full custody of my kids? And so I got out. And what else would I do besides go right back
into fitness? So I mean, that's kind of, so all I've ever known is fitness, the Marine Corps
and fitness. Yeah. Wow. Thank God you like it because you're good at it. And it's obviously what
you're like I love it. I love it. I feel like I always say I've had the best two careers you
everyone but it wasn't easy when i started fitness like when i got out of the marine corps fitness wasn't
cool right now it's kind of a cool career because there's social media there wasn't social media
when i was training yeah there was no social media and it was and everyone's like when you're
going to get a real job like do something real with your life you're just a trainer like are you
going to ever do like a real are you going to have an adult job i'm like no i'm not watch this
and they say you're never going to be able to support your kids i was like yes i will watch me
i'm going to clean houses so i cleaned houses where i was building up building my training
business. And as my training business would grow, I would drop one house. I'm like, yeah. And I was like,
I was determined. I was like, slow and steady wins the race. I was like, I will get there. I will be
able to support my kids by myself on just training one day. I mean, if anyone knows you, I feel like
if they're going to tell you, you can't do something, that's when you're going to go and show them
that you can and you're going to do it really well. I mean, that puts a feel on the fire right there.
Come on, baby. Let's go. I feel like you're that way.
Jason is really that way too.
Sometimes he has the biggest fear of needles, which is hilarious.
And like he-
John does too.
Really?
Yes.
I didn't know that.
It's so funny because he goes, he actually will FaceTime me when he went to get his vaccine.
And he was like, like, make fun of me, make me feel stupid because I know this is so dumb.
And he's like, if I hear you say like, you know, like you can't get that needle.
You're going to be such a baby.
He's like, okay, now I have to go do it.
A little fire on there.
That's a little encouragement.
It's so true. That's funny. I didn't know your husband was the same way.

And then we have so many moms listening. I know Minnie, who's my little producer right here,
is a mom as well, and just always wants to know how women do it all, you know, because at the end of the day,
they just do. And it's about finding time. You say you're very structured and routine. And obviously, like,
it's something that brings you joy, but I know you have your pretty muscles app and certain things
that can help people. And I know you're such a big believer in balance. You know, you like your donuts,
you like your tequila, but you like your discipline and your oatmeal and everything like that. So how,
like if you could give any of the moms out there some advice or listeners on how, you know, they could
incorporate that into their life and maybe some tips or tricks or what your app can maybe bring to
the table for them. Man, I want everyone to realize that it is 100% attainable. I don't
care what size you are. I don't care what your body is structured like. I don't care what hormones
you have. You can do it. But the number one thing is you have to drop the excuses to find the results.
Everyone's going to find every excuse why they can't do it, why they can't do it. It's time you have to
drop those excuses and you'll find the results. So now tell yourself all the reasons why you can do it.
It's not going to be easy. Like I said earlier, you have when the motivation is not there. The motivation is
not always going to be there. That's when the discipline has to kick in. You know, and I,
I made the pretty my pretty muscles app and yes pretty muscles is for guys girls it's for everybody I
train men I know I'm labeled as a woman trainer but I do train guys too um pretty muscles is for everybody
and it's simple all you have to do is open it up hit start I tell you exactly what to do every day
for the whole year like every day is a different workout for the whole year you won't repeat the same
workout twice and you want to see how carry under we got those beautiful legs I'm going to show you
I mean we trained for 11 years yeah guys can do it too it's all in there
I've made it simple.
It's all stuff you can do at home.
Like, easy stuff.
And I put modifications so everybody can play.
Literally, I made it simple.
I was just going to say,
I feel like you probably have modifications in there for people who maybe feel like
they aren't at an advanced level or people who are beginners.
There's probably something for everybody.
That must have taken you a lot of hard work and time to come up with different workouts
for every day.
Oh, it's never ending.
So I'm on year two of the app.
And I'm still, I still write continually writing workouts and meal plans.
like so there's a full meal plan there's a meal plan on there that follows my book the four by four
diet there's the one that follows the power plate diet which are both lifestyles neither one or diets it's
all there's tons so i'm always putting new recipes and tons and tons of delicious meals on there
there's literally oh and the best part the games a good playlist oh there's games yeah okay a good
playlist come on dude a good playlist is everything for me when working out like if it's a good
playlist. I'm like, okay, I'm in it. But can tell me about the games that are on this app?
I want to, I love games. What's going on that? Okay. So you know Tabadas. Tabadas are my hands
down favorite, favorite thing. Yes. So those of you that don't know what Tobas is a four minute
workout is 22nd burst of exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest for eight rounds. So on there,
I have a timer that's built in in the daily workouts, but if you want to design your owns, you can design
your owns. Design your own English. You want design your owns? But if you want to design your owns, but if you
and design your own workout, you can go on there and just use the timer and put whatever exercises
you want in there. Otherwise, it's mixed into the daily ones. And it can be like eight rounds of
squats. And if you want to make it harder, you do eight rounds of squat and jump. So you do one round
of squats, one round of squat holds. Like there's, you can do it with weights. You can do it with
anything so fun. Then we have dice games in there. We have card games in there. I promise you're
never going to get bored. Yeah, that's one thing I will say about this app because I've looked into it.
I'm like, this just, I love that there's something new and exciting and there's so many different
things to look at on there and that you have meal plans and something for everybody is on there.
Like it, like you said, it doesn't matter who you are, what your body type is.
There's genuinely something for everybody on that app.
Yes, and it's simple.
You really just open it up, hit start and follow it and do the modifications if you want to.
If you want to do more weights, do more weights.
If you need to do less weights or no weights, do less weights, no weights.
You have no weights.
Use water bottles.
You don't need much equipment.
Like, it's really simple to do.
But the thing is, you have to decide you want to do it.
I can give you all the pep talks, all the cheerleading you need.
Yeah.
But until you make the decision that you're ready, there's nothing I can do for you.
Kind of like, here's an example of my mom.
Like, I tried for years and years to try to help her lose weight.
But until she decides she wanted to do it, she started following my book, the 4x4 diet.
And she lost 100 pounds.
Wow.
And she's over 100 pounds now, Caitlin.
She's lost over 100 pounds down.
Are you serious?
Yeah.
So she's probably, I would say 110 pounds down.
It's insane.
Oh my gosh.
You're going to have to send me a picture.
I love your mom.
That's amazing.
Tell her I'm like so happy for her.
That's she must feel incredible.
And so the bottom line is she made, it didn't matter what I said to her.
She made the decision that she wanted to change.
And when she made the decision, because she had every excuse, oh, I just can't do it.
Oh, healthy is boring.
I get sick of it.
I was like, you're not going to get sick of it because you're not going to miss out.
On the four-by-four diet, it's all about living a healthy lifestyle.
It's how I teach all my clients.
It's how I teach everyone on the pretty muscle app.
It's simple way of living.
It's cutting out starches at night.
I do eat starches.
I just eat them earlier in the day.
Eat them, burn them off.
Don't eat them at night.
I mean, clean starches.
I'm not saying go load up on a bunch of french fries.
That's not what I'm talking about.
I mean, you can have French fries, but it's all about balance occasionally, right?
Yes.
Right.
And then cutting back.
on sugar, cutting back on sodium, and, of course, cutting back on alcohol.
I knew you're going to say that out.
Not cutting.
And you still have your wine, dude.
I mean, come on, come on.
You've got to have the wine occasionally.
Yeah.
But I like to limit it to two drinks a week.
Okay.
That's all you drink anyways, right?
Wine?
Yeah, two drinks a week.
Oh, totally.
Totally.
Pinocchio knows.
Just like, yeah, totally.
Oh, my gosh.
I would have, like, I was ashamed of myself this weekend.
We had friends in town, and we wanted to take.
into a couple places. So we went, you saw my Instagram, I went to Bourbon Steakhouse in Nashville.
That's my favorite. We go there all the time. Like once a week. It is so good. Their food is
incredible. The service is unreal. It's like at the top of the building. The view is the mess of Nashville.
Oh, it's so good. And so I was like, I really had a few days there where I was like, oh gosh, this is. But I went my butt back in shape this morning.
But yeah, that's, I'm all about the balanced lifestyle too. But I do like that you said, because some, I'm not a big fan of
word diet. And so I love that you said it's not even about the diet. It's actually such a
lifestyle about eating clean, finding balance, reducing your reactive foods that irritate your
system, cause inflammation. What was the app that you use? So all those are in my book,
the power plate diet, which is my second book. So just so you guys know, neither one of them are
diet books. Yeah. I don't have the choice in the title. I hate that word. Yeah. It wasn't my
my choice by any means. Both of them are lifesty. The first one is the 4x4 diets how I live
my life every day. The second book that I have that just came out this year is the power plate
diet, which follows the same rules as the 4x4, except for it dives more into inflammation,
which is freaking awesome. And a lot of people don't understand that even healthy foods,
they could be eating almond spinach. They can be healthy foods that are causing their body to
inflame too. So I always talk about, you know, it's really good. In the book I describe,
you know, there's a test that you can find out your food sensitivities, which is different from food allergies that cause inflammation.
And finding out for me, mine is yeast. So if I had bread, oh my gosh. I feel like I had the flu. It's terrible.
Like within 30 minutes, all my joints ain't. But if I have onions on mine and onions, yeast, and potatoes. So potatoes and onions don't do the same thing to me as the yeast.
Yeast is the worst. Other two just make me look like I'm about five months pregnant. It's like a ski.
book. Wait, how did you, how did you discover that? Is there, like, there's a test that you can take. So in my book, I talk about it. I talk about taking a test. There's lots of different tests that you can take. I took one. You can take whichever one you want. I took the pinner test. It doesn't matter. You can take whatever test you want. But in the book, I really recommend. There's like, there's inflammatory foods, but then everyone also has their own personal inflammatory foods. So like those are my personal inflammatory foods. Your foods, Sean's foods. My mom.
mom's guess what you're going to die what hers were uh she's like oh grapes chocolate and
raspberry i was like that's not she i was like that's not too bad but she loves wine yeah oh that would
be a really tough one for me raspberries yeah raspberry so she she used to have wine and chocolate at
night yeah and that bye bye but that was part of her weight loss too she picks that huge she said she
noticed a humongous difference as soon as she cut those out so i i mean seriously inflammation
is causes so many diseases it makes you feel bad it makes you sluggish it makes you puppy i mean
it just makes you feel yucky yeah people don't understand that inflammation isn't just what you see
and inflammation can be the boringest thing you could ever read about in your life and i tried to make it
a little bit more very simple to understand a good easy read talk about fat cells which people like
blah blah blah blah blah but no it's like seriously important stuff and it's not as dry and boring
as most books can be because I'm like, can someone read this to me while I jump broke?
I can't read this so boring.
This stuff is so important.
It can change your life if you listen to it.
And I've made it simple to understand that you don't have to read it like 20 times to understand what I'm saying.
I've made it so simple.
And I really want people to realize how good they're meant to feel.
You're not meant to wake up and feel terrible and sluggish and yucky all the time.
You need to get to the root of why you feel that way.
And there's lots of different things you can change.
lifestyle things you can change. It can be something you're eating. It can be the lack of movement.
I mean, for guys sake, go out and walk your, walk your doggies. Yeah. And if you don't, go get
doggies to walk. Oh, so I just adopted this new dog, Caitlin. You did? Mm-hmm. So, you know, I have
three in my house right now. Two greater Swiss mountain dogs, which are like Bernice Mountain Dogs,
but short hair. And then I have a German Shepherd, which is my son's who's living here right now,
but he's going to be leaving for England.
So guess whose dog's going to still be here?
So grandma has his dog for a little bit.
Yeah.
So we just adopted a one-year-old Bernice Mountain Dog.
So he was getting put down and, yeah, he bid his owner.
So he was going to get put down.
And legally, I had to send him to the special training.
He was getting put down the next day in order for it to keep him alive.
I had to send him to the special training.
Wow.
And he's doing absolutely amazing.
I get him in like two weeks.
And they said he's not a biter.
There's nothing.
It was just a say.
He just needed to be trained.
Oh, that breaks my heart that they were going to put him down.
I love that you rescued.
Is it a boy?
Did you say it's a him?
A boy.
Yep.
What are you going to name him?
His name Zeus.
Oh, I love that.
So we're going to keep him for a little bit.
But obviously, I have my hands full because I do work like five million jobs outside of training full-time.
I mean, I have my books. I have my app. I have, God only knows what else I have, but I have so much stuff
going on. So I'm like, how? And we travel. I was like, what do we do of four dogs? Like, seriously.
So I might end up adopting him out when I can find a good family that is looking for a very well-trained dog
because he's going to be, he's in a really cool place. He will have been there for like two months by
time we get him. Wow. I love that because that's all that. Maybe you want him. Baby, I'm not against it right now. I'm not
even kidding. Jason would be like, no, we're not getting another dog. I'm like, I want like,
I would love to have five dogs. Well, you're going to have to come meet Zeus. And if,
if it's perfect for you and it's meant to be, then Zeus can go home to with you. And that's
perfect because then I can still see Zeus. That's true. Wait, I, I feel like the Bernice,
a Bernice Mountain Dog and Golden Retriever was like always what I wanted. And Jason really wanted
a German Shepherd. So then between all, all freaking four of us, all my God, all of them. All of
them like dog heaven cooper is my old dog and he's a cranky kind of asshole and then i've got becket
who's another greater swiss than the happiest i mean he's just constantly smiling and wagging his tail and
let's play mom let's play but he's also the laziest dog because he'll sleep for 23 and a half hours a day
like i get him up as he puts himself to bed at seven o'clock and i have to get him out of his bed to take
him outside to go potty and you have to literally yank him out you have to drag him by his collar to get
his butt up. He's so lazy. And then we've got Kobe, the German Shepherd, that's just the best
things in sliced bread. I mean, shepherds are such amazing dogs. Yes. They shed a lot, a lot,
lot, lot, lot. But you've got shatters, too. I've got two shatters. Today, I took them to the vet,
and I just walked out of there because when they're nervous, they shed more. I walked out of
there, and my pants were black to start with. And then I just looked like I was wearing fur
pants on my way out. Like, it was hilarious. You know what? Did you know that the shop, DYI, have you
ever tried their legging line. That's actually who I collaborated with on a leggings. Did you know that? Yes. Those are
freaking amazing. Well, did you know that the dog hair doesn't stick? Stop it. That's unlike the best thing
ever. I have a house of dogs too. So the dog hair doesn't stick. You just wipe it right off.
Oh my gosh. You don't have to use a roller. They're like silky smooth. I'll send you some.
Can people still go and buy these leggings? Because they're so pretty. There's so many different fun.
I had these new ones coming out right after Mother's Day that are black with white stitching.
Oh, cool.
Outside, they're so stinking cute.
But yeah, all their leggings, you can go, go shop away.
You can use the code Aaron 30 and get 30% off the whole site forever.
Amazing.
And me buy anything.
I'm obsessed with their leggings.
I found them probably a couple years ago and fell in love with them.
What is it, DIY, DIY, DY, DY, shop, DYI.
Okay.
Seriously, once you put those leggings on, you'll never.
never wear another pair of leggings. Like I've given them to like some friends and they said these are
insane. Are they as good as Lulu? Yeah. Actually, you know what? The designer of these started at Lulu years
ago. No way. It was part of Lulu. Like one of my favorite pair of leggings that I have from Lulu,
I said, oh, I love these leggings. She's like, well, guess who designed those? That was me.
Really? And oh, and guess what else? They're all made in the USA. They're all made in Houston.
wow and it's all women run oh okay say no more if i'm right let's happy shopping 30
and off the whole side baby let's go that's awesome oh that's i mean gosh you have so much going on
and then what is this about turks and kakos like this do you it's like a challenge or something
what is happening and how can i come it was not a challenge it's kind of like a fitness retreat
at aminara have you heard of that resort no you know oh my gosh there's so it's a really cool
chain. You have to look them up because they're pretty badass. They have one in the
states in Utah. I think they're building one more in New York. Yeah. All my clients go to the one
in Utah. Everyone talks about. I've never been. Really? The one in Turks and Kekos. They're doing
like a like a retreat. I'm doing some workouts, a tequila tasting. I mean, twist my arm. I have to go
Turks and Kato for a tequila taste. Oh, that's terrible. Oh, it's terrible. Oh, my gosh. Yeah,
we're doing like some Q&As. And there's also a badass paddle board.
It's going to be teaching classes, too, paddleboarding classes, which would be really fun.
And how do people sign up for it?
You just go to their website.
And if you ask me how to spell it, I have no idea.
It's Amin-Y, I think.
We can put it in, when we post about this for the podcast, we can spell that out for people if they want to tell.
That's so cool.
I have no clue.
And it sounds tricky.
It's really, it's really a cool thing.
Okay, I have a vibrator story.
So I was in Iraq and someone sent me one as like a joke.
Yeah.
And it was like this big neon green like glow in the dark one.
And so we used it as like a night light.
but it was actually a great nightlife it was kind of it was really long and but so when it was time to
come home you know we had those big giant sea bags and so I put it right on the top because
they dumped your sea bags and so I knew that whoever opened it was going to be like oh my god
so I put it right on the top of my sea bag so as soon as they go to search our sea bags
and they're like what in the world that's hilarious did they know it was yours yeah oh yes that was
very obvious because i showed everyone like it was not it oh i have one more you want one more
good vibe right of story yeah okay okay this one's hilarious so we're on our way back from um
gosh i remember we're at an island i don't remember we went to a wedding somewhere and sean and i
Sean's my husband, for those of you who don't know, he's like, he's like living with a little kid.
So we're, we're, you know how like at smaller places they, they check your bags like kind of
like, whatever.
They're like, they brought them to us.
We're at the gate and they're like, this bag is vibrating.
And I'm like, oh, shit.
And so Sean's like, oh my gosh, Aaron, you left it on?
I was like, no, I don't think so.
I was like, it turned on on its own.
And so we're like.
We're going back and forth and everybody's just staring at me in the whole airport because they're like, Aaron, Opria, you need to come to the counter.
Your bag is vibrating.
And I'm like, oh, okay, my bad.
Sorry, guys.
And so I go to the counter.
It wasn't my bag.
It had my name on it.
It was Sean's, but it had his razor had gone.
But it wasn't my bag.
And so it was his shaver going off.
And I was like,
oh, my gosh.
Everybody was laughing at me.
You're like,
my bad,
my bad.
Your bag is vibrating.
The thing I'm not shy.
Yeah,
that's one thing I will say about you.
You're not shy.
I love it.
You're open about so many things on your Instagram as well.
You're just like,
I just like when people don't care what other people think.
Like you care about the right things.
Like if someone was like,
you know,
I don't even know what you would care about.
I feel like you're just like, I don't give a shit.
This is what I'm doing.
That's kind of my personality.
Yeah, but that's good.
I feel,
do you get a good response from that on Instagram?
Because I feel like people like to see that.
I get both.
I mean,
I give my fair share people.
So I had,
I had my boobs done.
Yeah.
And I showed the whole thing because I could care less.
Yeah.
And I didn't have implants.
I had just a lift done.
I mean,
I was like, I had really, really saggy boobs.
I was like, I'm so sick of my headlights looking, right?
They're not wrong with that.
but my nipples were always looking down i was like please just pick these babies back up can i just
look forward for once again and so at i had my kids young because my kids are 19 and 21 that's
always said after i had them i was like one day i'm going to fix it so i did and people are like
why would you fix your boobs don't you think you should fix your teeth oh the amount of times
i get told this like every day every day or that just hurt my heart hearing that that is so
me all the time we we kind of just laugh about them and then you know what some days i have my fill i'm
like okay i'm sick of it and then i'll just repost it so yeah i do the same there you go i do the same
i don't do it very often i wait do you have another um confession besides the vibrator one because i
don't know if that was oh wait oh that wasn't really my confession maybe you don't we should talk
about what my my blankie blueberry yes you need to tell people about blueberry oh okay my gosh
so blueberry is my blankie since I was two years old can't I told Sean that he would get kicked out of the bedroom way before blueberry ever leaving yeah so I sleep with this blanket every single night and have since I was two and when I left for boot camp I had a little square of it that was cut off and I kept it in my pocket of my camis that
And then, so when you lay in your bed at night, you lay in your rack, you have to sing the
the Marine Corps hymn.
This is in boot camp.
You do?
You do?
At attention.
Yeah, every night.
And they might make you sing it 50 times.
They'll just mess with you.
And so as soon as they say, uh, just, I take it out and scratch, scratch, scratch,
all night.
And then it would fall off my rack.
And then the people, whoever was on, uh, fire watch would sweep it up and throw it away.
And so I'd get out of my rack every night and try to find that little square.
And it's gone to war with me both.
times and they mess with me every day. All the guys mess with me and they hide it from me and I
dump everyone's packs, like the big packs that we wore. I dump all their packs. It's like,
look, assholes. Who has my blanket? I will kill somebody over this blankie. You better give it back.
So yeah, blueberry is my life. That is the best thing ever. You've literally been to war with your
blueberry blanket, been to like kindergarten preschool more. Look at that. It's so,
What would you do if you ever lost that?
I would literally die.
Like, I don't know.
Like, this is how I go to sleep.
Scrash, scratch, scratch.
Oh, my gosh.
That's so, it's so funny because...
I'm such a boy to have a blanket.
You're just...
It's not even that you're such a boy.
You're just such a, like, hardcore person.
You just are like fitness and you're so routine and all this stuff.
But at the end of the day, you're still human and love your little blueberry blanket.
and it makes my heart so happy.
I love it.
Like, blueberry is seriously the best thing since sliced bread.
Like, I have blueberry is my best buddy.
Blueberry dogs and working out and your kids and your husband.
Oh, oh, and donuts.
And donuts.
Life's all about balance.
We got a little good and there.
We got a little bad.
I love that.
You got to have fun in life.
Otherwise, why have life?
I mean, we're only here once.
You got to make the best out of it.
Hey, you don't got to tell me twice.
I love a good time.
Speaking of having a good time, I have one game.
I have one game to play with you before we go.
Oh, wait, games.
I want to hear.
It's basically just talking about what your favorite thing is.
What is your favorite piece of fitness equipment that is easy to travel with?
Probably loop bands.
What's just like?
So loop bands are the round ones that you can put on your ankles.
You can do a lot of booty stuff with it.
You can do triceps.
You can do reverse flies.
You can do back.
You can do everything with those.
and they're literally tiny.
So they're great to travel with
and I have a ton of workouts that you can do with them
in the pretty mouth slap. And they're ridiculously cheap.
Oh, but guess what? I'm making a whole line
of those, the cloth ones now that don't roll up.
And each one of them,
did you see the mural that I did on the back of my house?
Yes.
So each one of the bands coming out
will have a different design from my wall.
Oh, that's cool.
Yeah, I'm really excited.
Those come out in a couple months.
The cloth bands, but they're the ones
that don't roll, which is really cool.
What do you mean they don't roll?
So you know how you use those bands on your ankles or your booty and they kind of roll up?
Oh, I see what you're saying.
They just stay where they're supposed to stay.
Oh, that's amazing.
Oh, my gosh.
That's a good idea to come out with that.
How do you have time for all of this?
I don't know.
I guess people ask me the same thing, but yeah.
Okay, what's your favorite place you've ever traveled to?
My favorite trip.
Well, Barbados, that was the one I was trying to think of really.
Barbados is probably my favorite place I've ever traveled to.
My favorite trip I've ever been on was the last one we went to Cancun, which I wouldn't have thought.
But just the four of us went and it was the absolute my husband and my two kids.
And we had the absolute best trip.
Just chill.
And it was really chill.
It was just great family time.
And I don't know if it was the location that was the best or if it was just the time that made it the best.
Probably both.
I feel like that looked like a.
really good time okay oh i always want to know this with you actually what's your favorite fast food order
i mean i guess crispy cream it had to be a donut's place okay fair i freaking yes yeah that can count
that can count okay because i was like i don't go to any other fast food what you really do you
don't ever like crave macdonalds or like no damn it why do i you're because you're more normal
i'm not but you know what i crave i crave like the biggest plate of eggs you've seen me when we go
a restaurant. Honestly,
Aaron will order, like, I think
the most ridiculous thing I ever heard you order was
12 egg whites on a plate.
Like, that was your meal. But there, I get a couple whole
ones mixed in there. A couple whole and then the rest are
egg whites. And it gives me an amount
of eggs. Like, seriously, my favorite
food is eggs. Like, I can't,
I would eat them breakfast, lunch, dinner
if I could. That was going to be
my next question. So there you go.
Eggs, eggs, eggs.
And people said, do you eat anything else besides
eggs? Yes, I do. But I eat a lot of eggs, too.
like 30 a day.
Oh my God.
Not whole.
I only eat two whole eggs and the rest are egg whites.
But they're so easy.
They're just the easiest neutral food.
It's going to take the flavor.
If you want them sweet, make them sweet.
You want to savory, make them savory.
They're easy, neutral.
They give you protein, not many calories.
And they'll fill up my belly if I eat enough.
That's very true.
I actually, too, love eggs.
Okay.
What's your favorite drink to order at a restaurant?
So there's two.
Okay.
If I go where they have my, I'm very, very picky about tequila.
If they have the tequila I like, which is Casa Azul, you ever had that.
So good.
They have that.
I want that on the rocks with a lemon and a lime.
Nothing makes.
Straight tequila.
Does that make me like a lush?
No, because you're, you're drinking good tequila.
So you can do that on the rocks.
I love that tequila.
I actually like it with cinnamon and orange.
Yeah, I've done that too, which is really good.
I did the 42 with that one.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
That's freaking good, too.
And then the other drink, if I'm going out, like, I'm going to go dancing for whiskey rope.
I love to go dancing from four to six.
It's like the blue hair special on Saturdays.
I go dancing from four to six.
And then I walk home, we get egg scrambles at Red Bicycle and come home.
We're home by 630.
Best thing ever.
But we take our own beet juice and I mix dekilo, tequila and beet juice because beet juice makes
you really happy and excited and energy.
I always call it a happy juice.
and then you put that with a tequila, and it's like,
whew, let's go.
Oh, my gosh.
So I take my own beet juice.
So it depends.
If that's a vibe I'm going for,
I want tequila and beet juice.
If I'm going for like sitting in a restaurant chilling,
then I just want the good tequila on the rocks.
You would bring your own beat juice.
That's pretty amazing.
Yeah, they look at me like I'm crazy.
Whatever.
Okay, what's your favorite TV show to watch?
I've never watched a TV show in my life.
Aaron.
I know.
It's terrible.
But you used to like The Bachelor once in a while back in the day.
Oh, yeah.
I was thinking like TV show like sitcom.
Oh, no, no, no.
I've never seen a sitcom.
Okay.
So I like the housewives because I like to watch it.
Well, I like to watch it without sound on.
I like to see their parties because they do really cool part.
Like I like to see they're decorating in their parties.
Like the white party is so cool.
The Beverly Hills white party.
But I really love the weather channel.
Okay.
You know what? That's, that's fair.
I mean, the locals on the eight, come on.
What time?
I mean, my grandma, she used to sit there and only have the weather channel on every time we went to her house.
And she was just, like, fascinated by weather talk.
Even when, like, even my dad, he's like, he loves talking about the weather.
And I'm always like, dad, come on, we're better than that.
And he's like, no, I genuinely love talking about the weather.
Oh, no, I look at the hourly.
forecast probably every 10 minutes like it's going to change like I have a weather obsession I think
I'm going to be a storm chaser when I retire I I do not put that past you it's like weather caught
on camera I mean come on there's so many great shows on the weather channel those are my kind of shows
like I'll watch the same storm on repeat like the same like I've seen the same one caught on camera
and I'll watch it over maybe I'll see something new I'm like there's a hurricane I told Sean it's like
there's a hurricane coming. Can we please just go? And he's like, no, Aaron. I was like,
somebody Hayden, Hayden's my youngest son. He lays on the couch and watches the weather
channel with me. And he'll watch all the weather shows. And I'm like,
you just go to a hurricane with me. Please, somebody go with me. And nobody will go.
I will not go with you either. But I'm sure we can find somebody that will.
Maybe somebody will be my friend. Come on, storm chasers. Somebody teach me. I need to learn how to
do a storm chaser. I just want to be like, I want to follow a weather channel. You
know like the weather channel, the actual weather channel people.
I want to follow them like a day, but when they're chasing a storm, not just a day sitting
in the studio boring.
You should do that and you should do a whole like Instagram series about it.
And that would be, I would watch that.
Maybe somebody from the weather channel listens.
Yeah, maybe someone from the weather channel listens and let me be like an intern.
Like you have time to be an intern at a weather channel.
I mean, I would make time for that because that would be like a dream.
but only when they're chasing storms, not an intern sitting in the office, like, or sitting in the studio.
I think interns have to start by doing the shit stuff, but you don't get to just jump into the storms.
Well, maybe I could have like a little golden ticket.
Golden ticket.
Oh, God.
Okay, last one.
What is your favorite guilty pleasure besides donuts?
I like my blankie a lot.
Yeah, you're blank.
Okay, fine.
I'm asking one more.
Who's your favorite person to follow on Instagram?
I don't really love to watch fitness.
I know that's really, really odd.
I don't really watch fitness.
But I'm intrigued why.
Is that why?
Because you do it all day long so you don't want to watch it?
I'm just good.
Like, yeah.
Yeah, I'm good.
I see it.
I do it.
I teach it all day.
That's good.
I ride it like.
That's fair.
I'm good.
Okay.
My favorite person to follow.
Let me look at who I'm following.
Hey, did you know Worth and I are doing a workout event?
What?
No, when?
Yeah, on June 12th at the Titans on the Titans field.
Wait, can I come?
Yeah, you want to come with us?
Yeah.
Do you really?
Yeah, I would love to.
Sean's going to DJ.
Sean's going to DJ.
Come work out with us.
I think tickets are going on sale soon, but yeah, I'm excited.
I would love to come.
That's so funny because he just text me the second you said that.
His name just popped up on my computer and he just texted me.
That's so random.
That is random.
I'm still trying to figure out who my favorite person is I follow because I really don't know
the answer.
I would say it's probably a house decorating show.
channel because I love I have a a house decoration obsession maybe that's my
guilty pleasure like yeah like a good wallpaper I love you know I love me some
wallpaper I love wallpaper like I painted the whole back of my house is if each wall
there's eight different patterns on the back of my house it looks so good though do you have it
on your highlight reel on your Instagram no not yet I'm waiting until I fit like I still
I'm waiting all the furniture to come in, so it's still sitting pretty empty.
So when it's all done, like I'm getting the concrete stamped.
Have you ever heard of concrete stamping to make it look like hardwood?
But it's just concrete.
Yeah.
So I get, hey, buddy, did you come to say hi to me?
I swear Pino knows when I'm like about to finish a podcast and he always jumps up.
Or like, if he hears me say, okay, thanks for whatever.
Then he jumps up.
He's like, okay, we're done here.
Time to get on the mic, bud.
I get it.
Oh, my goodness.
I love you.
I want to eat you up.
he is the best you are the best oh i was going to say because maybe it's do you like following like
because obviously you have trained carry underwood you train kelsey baller and you train all these
country artists do you like following them because then you see their friggin muscles and you're
like i did that well i don't really say that but that would be i mean i get excited i see like
when i see any clients on instagram and they post a picture like my favorite thing is to watch muscles
engage not like I just have it I love to see them engage whether it's on myself on a client on
anyway I love that look that I love that it's like a and I also love when they put on outfits
and you can see the confidence whether it's a ripe carpet or whatever it might be a music video
and you see that confidence seeping out of them I would say that's probably the biggest gratification
from my job absolutely I always say the most beautiful outfit you're ever going to put on
his confidence. And so if they, when they put those on and I'm just like, oh, look at them.
They looks like, ooh, look at that line on the leg. You know, I love legs.
I was like, oh, I like that one. Oh, tighten it up more. Oh, show us more short shorts, baby.
Let's go. That's amazing. Oh, my gosh. Well, you're doing so many good things and you as well.
Thank you. We're both doing what we love. And I can't wait to come over and work out in your gym because it looks so
great. And tell everyone where they can find your book, find you, but is everything on one place?
Can they just go to your Instagram? Yes. Yes. So on my Instagram, which is Aaron Oprea,
O-P-R-E-A. Everyone likes to call me Aaron Oprah. I know we look just the like, but it's Obrea,
