Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe - Gabi Butler: Life as a Cheerlebrity & Staying True to Yourself
Episode Date: April 5, 2022Kaitlyn and Lo, the dynamic duo, are in person with Gabi Butler to talk life lessons, Netflix fame, and what’s to come for Gabi, her boyfriend, and our fave cheer squad. While she makes it ...look easy on our TV screens, she has come a long way since she first started cheering at only eight years old. If you’ve seen Cheer on Netflix (and who hasn’t?), then you know that cheerleading isn’t just chanting and pom poms, and Gabi is giving us the DL about what it was like to grow up cheering competitively. She shares the best advice she’s received from Coach Monica, what Netflix got right and wrong about life at Navarro and beyond, and the lessons she’s learned during Covid that will continue to impact her life. Plus, she tells us how she went from friends to lovers with her boyfriend whose love language is stunting, and who she would invite to be on her dream squad (we get Kaitlyn & Lo’s answers too, and you won’t want to miss it). Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story.
Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge,
there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice.
And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am.
It's not just any audiobook.
This is a full cast performance.
So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry,
brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads Sing is Mr. Darcy.
And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything.
Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix.
Talk about a dream cast.
Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics,
and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy.
And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so
fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
So whether it's your first time experience.
seeing pride and prejudice or you've read it a million times you're going to fall absolutely in love
all over again so go listen to pride and prejudice now at audible.ca slash jane austin this week's

Hey, everybody.
You're listening to Caitlin Bristow's podcast, Off the Vine.
Take it away, Brie.
Wine.
Lots of wine.
Hey, be on the mic, turn it up.
Let's go.
Hey, ramen.
Pino.
Ready for the show.
Everyone's welcome.
So come on in because OTV, it's about to begin.
Hey.
Welcome to Off the Vine.
I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow, and you are?
Oh, I'm Loe van Arunf.
Ooh, the roll.
That's good, right?
Really good.
A little too aggressive.
I like it aggressive.
Oh, okay.
Thank you for that.
Rump.
So the one and only Gabby Butler was with us today.
How cute is she?
Oh, sweet little American.
She's like a little Polly Pocket American doll.
A little American doll, polyp.
Yeah, a good hybrid of both.
She's a sweetheart.
She's so sweet.
I met her on the Dancing with the Stars tour, and then I was like, wait, I really want to get her on the podcast.
And so it just happened to work out.
Why is beyond her years?
She really is.
Yeah.
She's 24 years old, but she's been in the limelight since she was in diapers.
Well, now, eight years old.
old. I think I was like eating food out of a dumpster because I was so drunk. Like what? She's
beyond me. She's been cheering competitively, pretty much her whole life. She's been a cheerlebertie
for a while now. And we talk about what it was like being on Netflix's cheer show, the pressures
that come along with being that well known. We also get into what the show maybe didn't get
right. What advice Coach Monica gave her that has helped her get through the tough times and growing
up with cameras on you, even on your 21st birthday. The fact that they didn't air that means it
was not Liddy City.
It was not, no.
She didn't throw up.
And her boyfriend was here, too, but he didn't come in.
I didn't even see him until the end of it.
But we talk about her boyfriend.
Cute couple.
Beautiful couple.
They're really just sweet, and I really enjoyed our conversation with her.
And, of course, it was sweet, but it was also funny because you're here.
And we are hilarious.
A little duo.
A little duo.
Thank you for letting me come on and do a little co-host.
I haven't co-hosted with you since TI.
Oh, my gosh.
It's been years.
It's really, though.
Usually you're just my guest, but now you got to cause, which I love when you do that with me.
So I'm sure everyone will enjoy this episode.
Hope so.
Wind pisses me off.
I'm just going to go out there and say it.
Wind is rude.
Especially when you're wearing lip gloss and your hair blows and it sticks.
And every time, so backstage dancing with the stars, there's this big wind machine.
and you have to walk past it to like get to the other side or to and every time people would laugh at me because I'd always be like get out of here
because I'm like God I'm going to my shit oh when you go to the grocery store the wind that blows down so the flies don't come in it's it's the worst but I feel you on the lip glossing because I always I don't wear lipstick I always wear lip gloss and it's like every time I'm like I look good and then it's like JK but when that wind hits you sometimes though well it depends on the angle it depends on the angle and you can you
get the blow going.
If it's coming back, that's one thing.
But the minute it starts going like this way or this way, I'm like,
Ah!
No, wind just doesn't work for me.
Even if it is like a little Beyonce diva fan, I just still look like I'm like blowing
away and, like, it's not cute.
Because your eyes start squinting.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I just look like I'm like so uncomfortable.
And then, like, some people think that's such a sexy look.
And like, same thing with the wet hair, like, the slick back wet hair and you, like,
just get out of a pool.
No.
I look like a drowned little rat.
And I just like have the worst head shape
No, for like people with full hair
It looks so good
But I'm like my hair is not that thick
It does not look good
Whatever you're doing
Everything is working
As everyone can tell
We've got Gabby and Lowe in the room right now
Hey
Hey guys
Hey everybody
I'm listening
We're we always say that we're in their ear holes
Hey we're just talking to you in your ear holes
Right now
As you can tell we're having deep conversation already
So this is just riveting content
Oh, I love it.
I'm here for it.
That's, yeah.
Oh, I love coming here.
I get to be her gale to the Oprah.
Yeah.
This is fun.
I love it.
I love being, like, how long has it been since I've just been in L.A.
and actually been able to be in the studio in person.
Over two years.
Oh, yeah.
Because you've also been busy, like, with dancing with the stars and all this stuff.
Yeah, I was doing filming for The Bachelorette and then dancing, and I'm still trying to run a couple businesses.
podcast. You're busy, man. I love it. I love being busy. I'm like already panicking thinking I'm
like a failure because I don't have any plans in the next three weeks. You listen, it's good to get
some downtime. I've for sure learned that. How was being on The Bachelorette? I've never,
I haven't watched like much of that show before, but I've seen bits and pieces, but how is it on
that show? Incredible. It's a loaded question. Psychological war.
fair. Yeah, it's tough. It's really tough. It's, um, it's just like if you're there for a long time,
you don't have your phone, you don't have TV, you don't, you can't like, do anything. So no,
nothing outside. It's basically like everything is kind of like unplugged. You're just so focused on
this one human being who they like put on a pedestal. And after a while, you're just, you know,
you're being produced. So you're like, oh, these people are my friends. And you're like, no,
wait, they're trying to make dramatic TV. Like, and you get kind of in your head. But yeah, like,
I'm so happy I did it.
And if, like, I have no regrets.
If I was to, they're like, hey, rewind your life.
Would you do it again?
Absolutely.
You would?
Yeah.
Wow.
Would you do cheer again?
Like if you had to rewind it and be filmed?
No.
My body is tapped.
I'm like, I'm as a point.
I was going to ask you that.
Because you've got concussions, dislocated elbow, broken ankle.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Wow.
You look at you.
Oh, right.
Diane Toyer over here.
But yeah.
I mean, we've had, beside the pain, I think, like, because there's been injuries and everything.
And obviously, like, we are a very high impact sport.
It's everything is like, especially at Navarro, it's like every day you're doing something, like practicing.
And then sometimes we have two days.
And then I just got done with hell week.
So my body right now is like, oh.
Oh, man.
But I would say, you know, rethinking that question, I think all the great times in Trulining.
I would do it again.
Yeah.
Besides, like, the injuries, obviously those are never fun, but.
I was thinking about that with athletes and their bodies.
Like, there's a reason that football players' careers are only, like, four years,
because what it does your body, and I've been watching the dancers on this tour,
and they are just, like, full-on athletes thrashing their body around in, like, heels.
Yeah.
And it's crazy.
So taxing.
I just feel like, yeah, your body is just so fatigued.
and everything you guys are doing.
What is, like, the span of your career in the cheer world?
Yeah, cheer world longevity.
Yeah, what's that look like?
So cheerleading, like, there's really no limit.
Like, you could be however old you want to be and just keep going.
Yeah.
Because there's All-Star and then there's college.
So if I technically wanted to take, let's say, five years and then come back and do college later and cheer,
I could.
It's the craziest thing.
Like, you have, and it's weird because there's some teams that, like, their age range is, like, anywhere from, like, 12 to, like, 30-year-olds.
And I'm like, it's so crazy.
Wow.
Yeah.
My niece, I have to show you a little video of my niece after her, because she is, like, so spunky on stage.
She does cheer, and she's just, like, she does the faces already.
I'm like, yes, her stage presence is so good.
And she's, like, she's just so spunky, and I love it.
And she's the biggest fan of cheer.
And, like, yeah, she was so jealous the other day when everyone came to dancing with the stars.
And she was like, you guys just hung out.
And, like, you just talk to everybody.
And I was like, I tried FaceTiming her so she could say hi to everyone, but she was sleeping.
Yeah.
And honestly, there's some people that, like, when they start cheerleading, they naturally are just, like, born for it almost.
Because not only is it, like, you have to do so much and so many skills and throwing people around and flipping, you have to perform, too.
That's, like, a huge part of it.
I think that's why, like, there's not as many guys in the sport because they're like, oh, it's de-masculating.
And I'm like, it's so, it isn't, though.
It's just about, you don't have to perform, like, you can perform however you want.
Yeah.
But it's just a big part of, like, cheerleading.
It's a performance.
It's a show.
It's kind of like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like Cirque du Soleil in a way.
Yeah.
And absolutely.
You guys are flipping all over the place.
It is so impressive what you guys do.
Like, it is so impressive.
Have you seen?
that dad on TikTok that does the cheer with his little girl and he's like the coach?
Oh, my gosh.
So I actually know Roland and we actually, me and Colin just met up with him the other day, like not even two weeks ago.
Yeah. And Jaden, she's like barely. I think she's like four. Yeah. And she's doing things that I couldn't do even when I was 18. She's already like surpassed like so many people. And I'm like, you know, I think it's a great thing that.
Roland is like keeping her on her toes and getting her all the skills because I really do think
that it's just going to carry along with her as she grows up.
She's going to be amazing when she's older.
He gets a lot of heat for like pushing her too much as a four-year-old, but also at the same
time.
I mean, it's such a generational thing where you think like you're going to push your kid.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Tiger Mama.
I just think it's like cool because I think he's like got this incredible relationship with
her.
He does.
He's like coach.
But he also is her dad.
And you can see those times where he.
he's doing both and it's right it's pushing her but it's like some people do think it's like yeah and
everyone is obviously entitled to have their own opinion of how they should do things but i told roland
actually i was like you know i think that it's amazing that you do push her and like of course like
i think you can read her the best if she's having a day where she's just like feeling like overwhelmed
i feel like he knows how to pull it back and be like okay let's take a break and let's just go get you some
ice cream or something. And I feel like people don't really see that so much. It's like they only see the
pushing part. And the thing is, every great athlete that's ever been a great athlete has been
pushed before by their coach or whoever. Or parent. Right. Or parent. Who is a coach? Right.
It's just about being like disciplined and like having that, you know, somebody to push you. Because if you
don't get pushed, then you're never. I mean, it's really hard to push yourself. Sometimes you need that person to
be like on you.
Like in Ardum.
Yeah.
Yeah.
My dance partner for Dancing with the Stars one on season 29, he was a pusher, but
looking back on it, I'm like, God, he was such a coach.
Like, he was just such a coach and he pushed me so hard.
And I love that.
Yeah.
And I don't know if we would have won without it because it really did, like, I was never
as challenged as I was in those.
Mentally and physically.
Mentally and physically.
But my ballet teacher growing up, she used to make us go in our point shoes.
and we weren't allowed to wrap our toes
we weren't allowed to have anything
because she wanted to build blisters and calluses
so we would go across the floor
in tears with our point shoes
stained with blood and just go across
ballet is no joke
I've heard like because I've never done ballet
but I've heard that it's like brutal
like every like the dancers get like all these
you know blisters and their toes get bruised
I watch black swan
and their nails yeah it's it is
I'm like, oh my gosh, that's intense.
These little ballerinas have, like, dark lives sometimes.
And they're really, like, they are very on top of their stuff, too.
I feel like if they even have, like, any type of flex foot or, you know, bent leg, it's like,
what are you doing?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
It's strict.
I always think about that with cheer, dance.
Like, people don't really think of it in the same realm as an athlete.
And I'm like, you could argue that they're more of athletes than, like, you know, some because
it is crazy what you push your body.
body through.
All right, Finos, I think spring is here.

We all know that having some me time is important, but it can be hard to take it these days.
And I am always on the go.
If I don't stay up with my regular routine, I start to lose it.
Like, I actually forget what day it is, what time zone I'm in, or even my name.
Smooth is always in season, no matter what time of year.
I'm keeping my self-care routine going this winter by having my regular wax.
Reservation, it feels so good and just keeps me in touch with my routine and myself.

Okay, I'm still getting used to not being on tour anymore. Like I make Jason rock me to sleep so it
feels like I'm on the bus. Just kidding, I don't. But I do miss it. But one thing I'm not going to stop doing
now that I'm done with tour is working out and trying to feel like my best self. I just feel so dang
good after a workout. And now that I'll be back in Nashville, I have my Peloton bike, which is always a
go-to when it comes to working out. I used to the Peloton app a lot while I was on the road, but I'm
excited to get back to the bike, kick some butt. I like keeping things fresh and fun and new,
and that is really the best way to stay motivated when it comes to working out. So what I love about
Peloton is that they always have something new to check out. We've got new classes, new music,
and just new ways to keep your workouts fun and motivating. They even added boxing recently,
which is so exciting. And they have these new artist series classes, which means you get to work out
to one of your favorite artists for the entire class, which I also love. Peloton really does
have a workout for every day and every schedule. You can de-stress from a long day with 30 minutes
of strength, 20 minutes of cardio, or just do a quick 15-minute total body class. Before workout,
I also do meditations on there. Visit Onepellaton.com to learn more. That's O-N-E-P-E-P-E-L-O-T-O-N.com.
And how long have you been doing this for? Because you went competitive at what, the age of eight?
So I started cheerleading when I was eight years old, and I'm 24 now.
And you went right into competitive cheer as soon as you were eight.
Yes.
And the funny story is like, I actually was a gymnast before I started cheerleading.
And my mom was like, I think you should try.
And I'm like, absolutely not.
Really?
Because I thought the same thing that everybody else thought.
I thought it was just pom-poms.
Yeah.
Oh, like, you know, just cheers.
And I'm like, no, I don't want to do that.
I'm like, that's, no, that's stupid.
I would never do cheerleading.
And then I ended up going to my first practice, and I'm like, okay, that was fun.
I think I could do this.
And then my mom asked me later, she's like, did you like it?
And I was kind of being like stubborn.
Yeah.
No, I didn't like it.
What didn't you like about it, though, originally?
Was it like the performing aspect of it?
I guess, like, just the thought of cheerleading was like, to me, like, just pom-poms and cheer, like, cheering.
And I was like, I just, that's not me.
like much an athlete I want to be doing like all the crazy stuff not like the glitter
pom-poms and bring it on right because I was when I was little that was my like impression of
cheerleading because I didn't know cheerleading I never watched it and I just thought oh cheerleaders are
just like those popular mean girls that are yeah the pom-poms doing cheers on the sidelines
and I was like I'll stick to gymnastics and then I ended up falling in love with it because
I found out that it was much more than what I thought it was.
I was like, oh, wow, like, they do do all these crazy things.
They're lifting people.
They're tumbling.
They're doing all this stuff.
Yeah, it is wild.
I love watching cheer.
I think it's like magic.
Like, it does feel like you're at a Circus away show.
You were very known in the cheerleading world before you even went on Netflix.
And then you enter the hugest, like, platform to have on TV in something.
doing something that you love, but I'm sure you went from having fans in the cheer world to then
having Netflix open the doors to some harassment or bullying or people being negative. Have you
experienced much of that and how do you deal with that? It was definitely like a whirlwind of like,
whoa, because I was known in the cheer world before, but it was just the cheer world. It wasn't like
the actual world. So I kind of got a taste of like how people can be like you can have so many
supporters but there are going to always be those negative people too so that was actually something
that i really struggled with for like the longest time because i was like such a perfectionist
and i would always harp on the one bad comment instead of all the hundreds of good ones like that
was just my mindset i was like i would harp on that one thing for like weeks and there was yeah
there was definitely a time where like people were just like being super like rude and just like trying
to bring me down and I think it's genuinely because the success that I had like people just kind
of they don't want to see you at the top like they're going to do anything they can it's a thing it's a
thing like I just every it could be anybody like any profession we we build people up and then
and then try to tear them down right or like wait for one little moment that they slip and then
people get them for it right so I would say the thing that helped me the most was just knowing that
these people don't know me personally and who I am and this is something that I've carried with my like from the show watching it I was like wow I really let people that don't have any clue who I am or what I'm about get in my head and dictate your happiness yeah and I was like I got to stop doing that because it literally is just emotionally draining like if you care about what other people think about you you're never going to be happy because there's always going to be somebody that just doesn't like you.
you or has something not so nice to say.
Especially when you were like this great personality, cute, talented, little cheers.
Like, I feel like, you're like, yeah, and then you know, you guys are the full package.
Look at you guys.
We know what?
I sure am.
You sure are.
Yeah.
You sure are.
You got three full packages up at this podcast right now.
Which makes us targets for bullying.
Yeah, sure.
But you know what?
It is true.
These people don't know.
They only know what they see of you on a TV show.
and they don't know you in any other part of your life.
And you have obviously been doing this for so long.
And I just think it's so crazy to go from like people knowing you and loving you in the cheer world to just like overnight going on to this huge show on Netflix that blew up and then opening your world to just so many opinions.
And I'm sure you know like how it feels because it's like you have, it's a very vulnerable thing to put your life on national television for people to see.
I mean, it's kind of scary.
You're like, oh, my gosh.
Like, what if I said this in this way?
And what if people think this of me?
And what if this?
Like, there's just so many what ifs.
And I think something that also, this is another thing that really helped me was Monica told me she was like, you should never listen to the voices of other people because they genuinely want to be in your shoes.
And they would do anything to be in the position you're in.
So she said something along the lines of a lion doesn't listen to the opinion of sheep.
Yeah.
And that, like, really, really was like, wow.
I think that stuck with me the most.
I was like, wow, like, she's right.
I'm doing all these things and I'm, like, focusing on myself and I'm letting other people's opinions who have no idea about what I'm doing, like, letting it get me down.
And I'm like, I can't do that anymore.
Yeah.
Did it affect your family dynamic?
because it's one thing to be filmed just you.
Like, Bachelorette queen over here.
We touched on your family a little in the show, right?
A little.
Yeah, a little.
But your family was like very much so.
Involved in the first season.
And they're a loud, like crazy family.
My family is loud and proud.
So a lot of people, and it's kind of like the same thing with Roland.
Like people have their own opinions of how, you know, parents should parent or how they should treat their kids.
and honestly I think the only thing that in the show was portrayed a little bit kind of not so real was the way that my parents I mean we are crazy and we're loud but I feel like they didn't really capture like the good moments it was mainly like the because they want the entertainment right yeah right so it was like oh they would get them saying Gabby you need to do this you need to do that and it was like they do they do keep me on my toes for sure and they definitely are like on top of every.
And they tell me, hey, make sure you're doing this.
But I'm grateful that my parents care so much and that they're involved, like, in my life that much because I feel like it really, it's got, it's made me stronger.
And I feel like it's just kept me like more independent, honestly, because they're, there are the ones that are like, we want you to do this on your own.
We're just trying to help you.
And we're going to do whatever we've got to do to help and get you set for, you know, life.
And we want you to be successful.
so I think a lot of people just saw like the bad things and they were just like oh my gosh like her parents are crazy they're terrible talking shit on your parents and I'm like yeah but they're honestly like I wouldn't trade my parents for the world yeah they are like if you know them they are the most real sweet genuine people like they would give their own clothes off their back to give to somebody else who doesn't have so we're a very loving very tightness
family. Very honest.
I love it. I think it's great. But yeah, of course, did your family know they were going to be
so much involved in the season? Honestly, no. I don't think that they thought that they were
really going to be in it at all. Because, you know, when they're filming, they film so much,
but they only take certain amounts. Like, they can film something for a week straight, but
only use 10 minutes. Yeah, exactly. They're obviously not going to use the times where you're like
hugging and being like soft. Yeah, yeah, the touching moments. They're going to take.
They're like, oh, this is going to make people talk moments.
But overall, do you think it's like a positive, when you watch it back, you're like,
ooh, that kind of, that is how it is?
Or do you think it gets twisted because it's Netflix and television?
I think for the most part, the first season was very well.
Like how they captured it was very well of how it was.
Like, there was nothing really fabricated.
There was nothing that wasn't like authentic other than I think that situation.
And then Lexi at the end, it kind of like showed her going to a rave.
And it was like after Daytona in the show, but it was not after Daytona.
It was actually before Daytona.
And they kind of made it seem like she went down this like dark like path of like just
falling into a bunch of bad stuff.
And that was kind of like, oh, no, that wasn't right.
But people don't know that.
So they automatically just assumed.
But other than that, I would say like the way that they portrayed like everybody's personalities
and like their stories and just the journey of like going to Daytona was.
100% spot on.
Oh, that's cool.
It was very, like, yeah.
I fucking love Monica.
She was on Dancing with the Stars, too.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I just adore her.
That woman is my, like, life.
Yeah, she is just amazing.
Yeah, I really like her.
And she's just got that, like, motherly feel and instinct, and she's just so, I love her.
Yeah.
So many people have looked up to you, even since you were, like, eight years old.
Do you feel so much pressure to be a certain, like, way in the, in the, in the cheer?
world or in your everyday life just because you know you have so many people looking up to you and has that been so
hard since a young age? Honestly, I feel like I'm actually really thankful that from a young age that I was
kind of thrown into like the spotlight because I feel like it really just made me who I am today and it like
realized like wow, I can help people for the better because there's so many people out there that I feel
like, you know, could be going through something, could be having a hard time. And if I can just
impact one person's life in a positive way, I think that's a blessing. And I think that we need
more positivity in the world. And I would definitely say that like there's been times that I've had
harder times when it comes to like the negative stuff. But I try to redirect my focus to the positive
things or the people that write me letters or say the nice things. And I'm like, wow, I don't do it for
those people. I do it for those, like, the positive ones. And I also do it for myself. And I think
something that I especially learned in the past few years, I would say, like, right around COVID,
I was, I learned so much about myself. Totally. During that time, because I was like, I got so much time.
Yeah, you're forced to look inward. Right. Like, I feel like a lot of people changed after COVID
or, like, just found out so much more about themselves because there was so much time to just
think and, like, be alone, you know?
So I think something that has really, really stuck with me, especially the past few years, has been just always staying true to myself because at the end of the day, like, I would rather be myself and have not as many people like me than be someone that I'm really not and try to impress everybody else.
Those are the words I live by.
I got him from Kurt Cobain, but he says I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for somebody I'm not.
And I live by that.
It's so profound.
Well, it's so true.
Yeah.
It's so true.
It's my mantra.
Mantra.
Why do I always want to say mantra?
It's my mantra.
My mantra.
That's my mantra.
It's my mantra.
It's how I live.
It is a great word to live by because I feel like, you know, at the end of the day, like,
you are going to have yourself all the time.
You're not going to have all those people with you 24-7.
It's just going to be you.
And I would rather.
be happy with who I am and who I'm portraying my true self as
than to have everybody in the world love me and me not be happy with who I am.
Hell yeah.
Yes.
Amen.
Well, did you ever go through that?
Well, because, like, you've got eight years old to 24 cameras, all eyes on me, center
of the ring, just like a circus.
That being said, the circus you're living in.
Well, because I just remember myself at 21.
I was a bit of a mess.
I got a little sloppy sometimes.
slept with people, maybe I shouldn't have.
I said 21 is that age where you're just like, yeah.
I was like, ooh, I'm going to try drugs.
Yeah, but I think you're a good girl, right?
Yeah, I mean, I've had my moments where I've typically like been very on top of my stuff
because I'm an athlete, so I have to.
But there's definitely been times where I would like go and do a party.
And then the next day we had practice and I was like, what am I doing it?
But no, it's just like things like that that I'm like, oh gosh, I'm like, maybe I shouldn't.
If I have to question it, maybe I shouldn't have done it.
But, I mean, I've never done anything too intense, but like, yeah.
I mean, it's just natural.
Like, you're going to.
Yeah, growing up.
You're going to do some.
Turning 21.
Right.
I was sloppy from like 18 till about 29.
You're like last week.
I'm still a little sloppy.
And it's okay.
And it's okay.
I now know right from wrong.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And, you know, it really do be like that sometimes.
I think that we all, but the thing is we all have to learn, you know, at some point, you know.
Because if you're always going to be like good, you're not going to know, like, what to do or how to feel when you are feeling good or like you are making the right decisions or everybody goes through it.
I don't care how good you are.
You could be the biggest goody two shoes and you'll do something.
I am like, I am so happy.
for all of the mistakes I have made in life.
I really am because I'm like, man, you little, how did you get through your life?
But like every mistake that I made or every quote unquote failure, like it was such a big
learning lesson in my life that shaped me.
Oh, same.
Yeah.
I'm lucky to be alive.
Same.
I'm lucky.
I can't believe I'm here today.
It just makes you a stronger person, honestly.
I feel like the failures and the moments that you feel like low or you feel like,
what am I doing?
It's like it makes you stronger.
Yeah, 100%.
It really does.
It's all about perspective and how you see those failures and mistakes as opportunities.
Yes.
Welcome to my TED time.
Failures and mistakes.
Welcome to my.
She just locked eyes with me and I'm like,
no, I was trying to feel better about myself.
I wanted you to be like, no, you didn't.
Oh, good.
I know, I was like, triggered.
Oh, no.
She's hitting the nail on the head.
No, we've all, we've all made some dumb choices.
Yeah, absolutely.
Gosh, but it's probably like you're probably so much more aware of the mistake.
takes when cameras are on you're like oh you're like yeah oh yeah like there were times where when we
were filming for you know the show i was like i actually asked monica one time i said monica they want to come
with me out for my 21st birthday and i don't really think that's a good idea she's like it's fine
like just be good and i'm like i'm like girl do you know what you know what 21 means she's like yeah
Yeah, but you're, you're good.
Like, I trust you.
Wait, what did you do for your 21st birthday?
Yeah.
So I went to this club, and it was like something, I can't even remember.
Oh, trophy room.
That's what it was called.
Here in L.A.?
No, it was in Texas.
It was in, like, Dallas.
But it was like a place that everyone was saying, oh, yeah, you should go to a
room.
And I'm like, okay, yeah.
So I was in the club with the cameras.
And mind you, everybody was, like, pulling out their phones.
Who are these people?
Why do they have cameras in the club?
And I was like, I'm like, okay, I'm just going to like sip on like maybe like a little
something that looks like water.
And I'm like, they won't know.
And they were.
So at the end of the night, I'm like riding this mechanical bowl.
And I'm literally just like, I have no idea what is like going on right now.
So they ended up leaving after like an hour or two in.
And then I was like, okay.
Yeah.
Now you can let loose.
Yeah, but I was like, hammer town.
Yeah, I was just trying so hard.
I'm like, okay, I can't, I cannot act up on camera.
I can't.
Yeah.
So I was just like, okay, do your best to just like kind of like not do anything crazy.
And then my teammates the next day, like a couple of my teammates were like, what were you thinking?
I'm like, I already told Monica guys.
Like, she already knows.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And they didn't air any of that stuff.
So I was like, okay, I'm like, good.
Probably because they were like, oh, she's not growing up.
Yeah.
She's not hammered.
Right. Right. Right. And they probably want to do some drama. Right. I'm smart. I'm smart. Very, very well played.
Okay. Question for those listening, what is more important than your health? Probably nothing. And because I've been so dang busy lately, I haven't had time to book my annual doctor's appointments. But now that I'm home, it's time for me to prioritize my health, find a good doctor, book an appointment that works for my busy schedule. And I know there are some really amazing doctors out there, but let's be real. The only ones that matter are the ones who actually.

And what are you doing now?
Because are you, now you're at a different school, right?
Or what are you doing?
So, okay, I did actually go to Utah to go to Weber State, which is a large co-ed team.
And they're in a different division than Navarro is.
So they're not, they don't compete against Navarro.
But I went and things just didn't really work out.
So I am back in Navarro.
Amazing.
Because Monica was, I was actually talking to Monica because I had a really hard time in Utah.
was just like going through a lot and I was like
I felt like Monica like no matter
what was just like always
keeping touch with me so
I felt like you know
this woman has my heart and like she's
always there for me like she's always been there for me and I'm like
Monica do you have a spot on the team
I was like do you have an extra spot? She's like I always have an extra
spot for you so I was like okay I'll come in a
course again so it was just I don't know like
I that woman has just
a heart of gold she has been there for me through so much and i was like you know what if it if i'm gonna give
my year to anybody i want it to be monica yeah because she's just she's like my everything yeah
sometimes you just have that one person that is like you're rock yeah yeah i feel like that's who monica
and she 100% is if i like if i feel anything i mean i can go to her for absolutely
it's like maternal it's like a mom yeah it is and i
feel like, you know, when I first met Monica, I think our relationship, my first year,
completely different from how it is now. Because I didn't really know Monica that well,
and I was very quiet. But I would say over the years, she really broke me out of my shell and was
like, you need to realize your worth. Like, because that was one thing. Like, when I went to her
as a rookie, I was like complete opposite. I was super shy, never talked. I was super
unconfident like just very timid and she was like you have so much potential and you just need to
like let that inner like lion come out let that inner don't be afraid to shine right and she
really like if i if i showed you guys a video of like me my rookie year versus like me now it's
night and day difference oh you must be proud of yourself i look back at that it is it's like
a proud moment i'm like wow i really came so far like just from my confidence and the
way I like carried myself I like it completely did a 180 yeah oh for sure that how do you think
you got there just by the people you're surrounding yourself with pushing you I absolutely think the
people around me yeah was one of the main reasons why I saw like the you know the potential in myself
because even when I couldn't see it there were people that were in my corner saying do you know who
you are like look at you it's a tight knit corner not so many people in that circle yeah it's just like
it is a tight-knit corner but I feel like everybody at Navarro like for the most part has been so always like even on my worst days like they're like you're still amazing you're still the best like you are so like you're so much more than you think you are and I really think that atmosphere is a big part of who you are you know like if you're hanging out with people that are uplifting and loving and just like positive you're going to feel so good about your
at the end of the day.
And then if you are with people that bring you down constantly or try to be negative,
you're going to feel that at the end of the day, too.
Birds of a feather.
Flog together.
Amen.
What is that saying that you are the sum of the five people you surround yourself with?
So you want to surround yourself with people that are kind, confident.
They're like, what's that?
Where do I'm looking?
Championing.
Championing you?
Yeah.
Is that a word?
Should be.
We can make it a word.
Yeah.
We can make it a word.
Put it on a shirt.
But when you do surround yourself with those kinds of people that believe in you,
and then you're like, I believe in myself too.
Yeah.
And sometimes.
I like that.
Take an average of the five people in your circle.
Yeah.
And that will tell you exactly who you are.
It really is true, though.
And I feel like sometimes it does, like you can meet someone and they really just bring out the best in you and they can change your life.
Like I've met people that have really like made a big, big.
impact in my life and monica is for sure one of them yeah i'm sure on that latter side too some
toxic oh yeah oh i can't imagine 100% yeah there's been people that i for sure thought had would have
my back or had my back and the minute that you know something wasn't going their way or they wanted
something but they didn't get it yeah that's when their true colors came out and i was like wow that's so
hard because you probably have to be around them still
to a certain degree like if you're filming
or doing a TV show. 100%.
You still have to be surrounded by people that are toxic.
So you really got to focus on that corner.
Yeah. How do you deal with toxic people?
Honestly. Do you have like
walls of boundaries? I do. Oh my.
I'm the worst. Like I feel like I'm
the hardest person. Like when I'm
okay, I'm super loving and I'm super caring
but it's so hard for someone
to like really get to
know me for me because I have
so much walls built up. And I'm like,
Like, I feel like not everybody deserves to get to know you for, like, who you are.
Like, only the people that are genuinely there for you for the right reasons can get that side of you.
But I realize, like, not everybody is going to be your friend and not everybody is your friend.
Yeah.
And there's going to be people that are going to just try to get whatever out of you.
And that's when you have to just pay close attention to, like, how they act.
when you're around different people or you're by yourselves.
Like, you know, I'm very aware of, like, picking out what, you know, how people are.
When you're sharing, this is something I've done because I've had a lot of toxicity up in my life with some mean.
Honey, you're telling me.
Yeah.
And so it's been tough, you know, navigating.
But one thing I noticed, and you actually, we've talked about this before, little Queen Brista over here, is when you're sharing good news with somebody and you're, you know, telling them about,
something exciting that you want to do or plans, whether it be a relationship or professional,
whatever, pay attention to how they're reacting.
How they react.
Because I, that is one major key is if they're genuinely happy for you, you know that's a good
person.
But if they have any type of, like, or just anything, or they're like, oh, good for you.
And they switch the subject to make it about them or something.
Oh, I have that happened.
Right.
Right.
I'm like, what?
I'm like, okay.
Yeah.
I'm like.
Duly noted.
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
And honestly, I do have, there have been a lot of people in my life that are like, you know, that's awesome.
I'm like, right, or they'll act like they're somewhat excited.
And I'm like, I can tell.
I can tell when it's a real reaction versus when it's a fake one.
Yeah.
I can, I can just tell by your energy.
You're an intuitive person.
I feel like you've got good intuition.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think my mom for that.
That's, yeah.
Well, it's also a woman thing.
Women are great intuition.
Yeah. I really do. They really have that. Oh, your boyfriend, Colin. Yes. Yeah. He cheers with you as well. Is that obviously how you guys met? So we, I'm going to tell the story. So we met actually in Daytona last year. And it's so funny because I was like, you know, I don't, I didn't know what he looked like. I just know he asked me to stunt one time on Instagram. And he's like one of the best stunners in the world. So I was like, I was like, oh, wow. Like that's pretty awesome.
I have, like, yeah, like, one of the best starters is asking me to stunt.
And I'm, like, thinking of it, like, I'm kind of fan-girling because I'm like, he's so good.
And he was like, I know you're probably not going to see this or answer, but I would love to stunt with you in Daytona.
And I was like, yeah, of course, let's stunt.
And he, he was so cute.
His reaction, he's like, oh, my gosh, I can't believe you answered.
Oh, you guys really both fan-girling over each other.
Yeah.
And so basically, we were.
were talking a little bit over, you know, before Daytona, and it was like, I think in the
beginning of March when we started talking. So it was around a month because Daytona falls in
April. So I remember like meeting him and I was on one side of the ban shell and he was on
the other side. And I was like, where are you? I don't like, I'm on the, I'm outside of the
where the ban shell is. And he's like, oh, I am too. And we were like looking around and we're
like, I don't know where you are. I'm like, I'm on the right side. He's like, oh, I'm on the left.
So he met me, and I remember just seeing this huge, like, jacked guy.
Like, you could literally point him out, like, super easily.
And he's just, he's always got his bandana on.
So I was like, you know, I didn't really, like, stalk his Instagram.
I just looked at some of his stunning videos.
So I didn't really, like, know how he looked in person.
But then when I saw him in person, I'm like, I'm so cute.
You're into it.
I'm into it.
And my mom was like, my mom was like, gosh.
Like after she was like, Gabby, are you blushing?
Like, you don't blush for people.
And I'm like, that's awesome.
I'm like, yeah.
He's a snack.
And he, yeah, I mean, he's, that body, he's, that boy's got a body.
I'm like, wow, body, yadi, yada, yada.
But yeah, I mean, he's just like the sweetest guy.
He's.
He seems so nice.
He is.
He's so sweet.
And he, like, treats me like a princess.
And honestly, I'm just like, you know, that's all.
want um because i've had
oh i've had some toxic
exes guys
haven't we all
haven't we all like wow
yeah i'm just like
if you're not treating me like
a million dollars and next
good i love that you
like at that age
24 you are yeah at 24 i was like
he treats me like shit
yes i love him right no and i really think
that that's a girl thing like i think that
a lot of girls especially
because guys nowadays, they don't really
have manners or
like a moral compass of like, maybe
I should get my girlfriend flowers.
Maybe I should open
the door for her.
You know, it's just like little things like that.
I'm like, where did that go?
Like guys just don't do that anymore.
So when you find it,
it's like you sink your nails
into it. Yeah, that's true.
Yeah. I'm like, you're not even doing the bare minimum.
Like, come on. That's
the bare minimum, baby. Let's go.
Yeah, and how long have you two been together?
We've been together for about nine months.
Nine months?
Yeah, nine months.
Wait, how long did you guys, like, you became friends, and then when did it turn into, like, we're a couple?
You know, what's actually so funny is I was like, you know, he was, like, starting to slightly, like, come on to me.
And I was like, no, I was like, I cannot.
I'm like, I don't know how to feel about this.
And I'm like, I just got out of a relationship.
I don't want to get into another one, but you're really sweet.
and then the minute he started like kind of like backing off I was like wait where are you going
yeah where you going and he's like I just I'm giving you space and I was like well maybe I don't want
space yeah so I like to know that you would give me space but now I don't want it right right
yeah it's just crazy how that works like the minute a guy starts like backing off you're like
hey hold on like where you go right I'm miss you I don't know it's like the weirdest thing but I would
say after it was during the summer because I he did a summer tour with me because I do camps across
the country so I was like hey would you want to be like would you want to do it with me and also this
other kid Jack Kidney and like us three just go teach camps and it was it is so much fun like we see so
many beautiful places and we get to meet a lot of really cool people and like we just have so
many connections like it's awesome but during the summer
it actually just was like slowly like happening and his love language is stunting he loves
stunting like the first thing he asked me he's like can we throw a stunt and I was like yeah so he
would always be like let's go do a stunt session and there was one day well I'll never forget it
it was like we were in this like magical looking field and it was just like all these like little
what do you call it the ones that you blow oh yeah dandelions I don't know
No, a dandelion.
It's like, I don't know what it is, but it's that flower.
Where you blow it and it, and it just kind of goes away.
Yeah, yeah.
Like a wish.
Like, you blow it and you make a wish.
So those were like all blowing in the air.
Oh, my God, it is a dandelion.
Is it a dandelion?
I thought dandelions are just the yellow one.
Right, that's what I thought too.
This is another form of one.
I'm thinking of it from Ice Age because I swear the flower, but yeah, you are right.
That's totally dandelion, you're right.
So you're in this field with dandelions everywhere.
Time frame.
Is it sunset?
Is it morning?
It's like kind of like how it is now or like the sun was starting to like get kind of, you know.
Beautiful lighting.
Like beautiful lighting.
It was getting late in the afternoon.
I was like golden hour and the dandelions are flowing through the field that I'm just like, you know, he's like looking really good.
And I'm like, he's all tan and like, you know, kind of like a little sweat on him.
And I'm like, oh, I'm like, he's not good, extra good, right?
So, yeah, it just was like, you know, I started falling for him.
And he was, I think he, like, kind of had a thing for me before I, like, started falling for him.
Yeah.
And then I was like, okay, I got, like, you got me.
So it was just, like, the cutest thing, though.
He was like, you'll be my girlfriend.
And I was like, yeah.
It was like, we were literally, like, acting like little kids.
I'm like, yeah.
That's cute.
Yeah, we definitely compliment each other.
I think he definitely has taught me some things, and I've taught him some things.
So he's just overall a really great guy.
Yeah, you guys are building each other up.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How great is that?
Right.
If you're not building each other up, then what's you do is?
Yeah, exactly.
That's literally like rule number one in a relationship.
That is a green flag.
Is there going to be a season three of cheer?
So that could be a possibility.
Okay.
Um, I'm not really sure because they're, you know, I don't know how Netflix works sometimes.
Like they're just, they'll show up. Like, they just show up. And I'm like, what? I'm like, oh, hey, guys. Like, what's up? Yeah. But, um, if there is going to be a, I can tell you this. If there is going to be a season three, it's probably going to be a slightly a little bit different.
Mm. In what way? I think they're going to be filming some, something different.
may or may not involve Daytona.
I'm not 100% sure.
But I do know that they are in the process of thinking about ideas.
Oh, that's cool.
How long can you be at Navarro for?
Like, is there a time cutoff or they're like,
hey, can't do this anymore?
It's technically a three-year college.
Okay.
Or technically it's two, but you could third year.
And normally, you just have three years at a duco,
and that's it.
But I competed with Navarro for, yes, three years.
But I went to school there for four because COVID, the COVID year.
So technically, I touched the ban shell with Navarro three times.
Yeah.
But because COVID happened and then 2021, I guess apparently all the schools weren't able to go because they still had COVID restrictions for some schools.
They gave another year of eligibility to everybody.
Oh, that's cool.
Bonus year.
Right.
So I was like, I got one more year.
Let's go.
And technically, after this year, I still have two more years.
Isn't that crazy?
And not at Navarro, though.
Oh, I was like, wait, hold on.
Yeah.
Okay, that makes sense.
Out of university.
Yeah, yeah.
So you're also going to school during this?
Yes.
So what are you taking in school?
So as of right now, I'm literally doing general studies.
Like, I'm doing the basic courses because I came in literally at the last bit.
Yeah.
So I was like, just give me basic courses.
That's all I need.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Are you going on the live tour with cheer?
Yes.
I will be on the live tour.
I'll give you all the tips and tricks for life on a bus.
Oh, girl.
I know the, I know the bus life.
Oh, you have done it before.
Oh, shit.
You should have been telling me.
So my parents actually, like when I was, this is a fun fact that a lot of people don't know.
I started working camps when I was 12.
And I would just go around the country and basically go place to place and work and basically just teach people.
So I've had an RV.
I've like lived the RV life for a while now.
Oh, then you're fine.
Yeah, I know that like there's, you got to pull the things in like when you're driving.
Yeah.
It's really bumpy sometimes.
You got to, yeah, there's a lot of things that you've got to do.
Oh, gosh.
I'm like, I'm done now the tour.
so I'm like, and missing it.
Yeah.
I knew you'd be missing it.
Oh, no, because it really is, like, even though there are times where you're like, oh,
I just wish I, like, had my own, like, my bed and my shower.
That was, like, the thing I missed the most was, like, my bed and shower.
Yeah.
But the, like, the memories you make, like, especially on the road, I feel like road trips
are just the most fun.
Like, they, you really start bonding with people and, like, you'd get to know somebody really
well.
Oh, yeah.
And it's just, like, beautiful, like, looking at the different scenery.
when you're like going into all these places.
So I definitely, yeah, I know how you feel.
It's like a bittersweet.
You're like, oh, I'm glad I can back.
But then it's like, oh, well, I kind of miss it.
Yeah.
So.
Like when my bed isn't moving, I'm like, what a blessing.
What a blessing.
This bed just sits still.
Well, I can actually take a shower yet.
I'm not like cramped, you know, yeah.
Oh my gosh.
That's so crazy.
Okay, I know that they prepped you to have a confession.
So it's that time of the pod.
I actually said this to my vet class at Navarro because we did something actually where it was like you have to say your most embarrassing moment in your life.
So there was one time where I literally went into, it was like my friend went in a restaurant and I was like, you know, following her and you know how sometimes you follow someone and you like lose track but you think it's something.
person because they look similar from behind yeah so i like went into this restaurant and mind you
like it's like everybody's just like whatever doing their thing eating and i decide to like smack this
like my friend on the butt super hard like just like whack and it was not my friend it was a random
girl and literally i was like 12 mind you like i was a little girl but i smacked her like the hardest i could
and it was on her ass
and she was like
and I like
she turned around and I'm like
oh my
I was like I am so sorry
I'm like I thought you were my friend
she's like oh my gosh
like that was so hard
and I'm like I'm so sorry
because I have a hard slap
like even though I'm like really tiny
like I can really hit
I was like oh my gosh
left a mark my soul literally left my body for a second
I was like oh my gosh I'm going to get in so much trouble
my mom is going to kill me.
I wonder if that girl now is like, oh, my God, Gabby slapped my eyes.
No, and my team said that too.
They're like, I wonder if she looks back now or like remembers you and is like, oh, my gosh, she slapped my butt.
Slap away, you icon.
It's like that mean girl's scene where they're like, Regina George punched me in the face one time.
Yeah, it was awesome.
That's so funny.
That's pretty good.
Lo, do you have a confession?
I don't know if you thought about this one.
Oh, man.
I've had some low moments on this podcast.
This is my first time at the rodeo.
Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
Oh, it's some of the worst.
Some rock bottom moments.
I can't think of anything offhand.
I know.
My mind's so focused on Gabby's slapping the ass.
I know.
I'm trying to get everything good.
No.
It's okay.
I did have a moment.
Yeah.
Well, I, okay, I'll say it.
What?
Quick little confession.
Yeah.
I took edibles.
I enjoy the occasional edible.
Oh, yeah.
The ones you gave me the other day.
Oh, my God.
Set me to the moon.
I know.
I know.
That was intense.
She's like, they're powerful.
I didn't realize how powerful.
Yeah, I usually just take half.
Oh, I took the whole one and I just woke up an hour ago.
Oh, my God.
No, but I've taken an edible, but I got this one brand and they're so cute because it looked like little gummy bears.
Anyway, went out.
I went on a day.
Oh, it hits hard sometimes.
Does it hard.
So I sometimes have trouble sleeping.
That's why I like to take the occasional edible.
I'm trying to justify it.
Don't, don't.
I swear.
So I had gone out.
drinking, had a little bit of an edible moment when I came home, but didn't realize, because
I just was, I was drunk.
Yeah.
I was out of it.
And so I just popped a handful of them thinking they were gummy bears.
I was ravenous when I got home.
Oh, my.
I was so hungry.
So I ended up taking this handful of edibles and, which I must have been really out of it
because that's a, that's a big mistake.
That is a huge mistake.
Oh, man.
They were both in Ziplocs, by the way.
Did you bar?
And it probably hit you like a train.
Yeah.
It did.
Well, I was, I was like, I'm okay right now.
Like, I'm good.
About 45 minutes an hour into it.
And it just wham.
Yeah, but then I got so hungry.
Like the little munchy's kicked in.
So I go to the kitchen and I was babysitting my friend's dog.
Yeah.
And I have, I just got this vegan jerky that's so good from Whole Foods.
Oh, no, you ate his jerky.
100%.
You ate the dog jerky.
Oh, no.
It was dried.
What's the meat that it was?
Deer meat.
Dear meat.
Oh, my gosh.
Dried antelope, deer meat, freeze dried.
So, but I didn't realize it was actually so tasty.
Oh, my.
You were like, I'm going.
You really were like Neil Armstrong on the moon.
Like, you thought they were delicious.
And I woke up, I had all the little crumbles on my chest, and I just smelled.
And I was like, oh, sick, what's that smell?
And then I looked, and I was like, please don't say I did it.
And that bag was just got it, just completely empty.
I love that for you.
I love that.
The dark moment in my eyes.
I'm going to picture that in my head probably for the rest of the day.
Yeah.
The crumbs really got me in the morning.
Yeah, crumbs on the chest.
Anyway, freeze-dried antelope, deer meat.
It was just because I was also trying to be vegan for a bit.
So, you know, just eating like Bambi's mom or, you know.
You're like, I did it.
Yeah.
That's my confession.
I love it.
There it is.
Okay, that's good.
That's so much.
Do you feel better?
Yeah.
It's so much better.
Getting that off my chest.
That's why we confess.
on this podcast so that everyone can get it off their chest
and we can feel better about it.
That was so much better than mine.
Yeah.
I don't even have one to compare.
That's great.
Okay, we're going to play one quick game and then I'm going to let you go.
Okay, let's do it.
Okay, we're going to build your own cheer squad with people from the below categories.
Okay.
You can be on this too low.
You can build your own team.
Yeah.
Okay.
One reality TV star.
Oh, one reality TV star.
Damn.
Gosh.
I'm going to go with Nini Leaks on my dream team.
NeNeely.
Okay.
Love her.
Bravo.
Yeah, Real Housewives.
Let me think, because let me think.
I'm going to go.
Chriselle Strauss because she'll bring the wine.
Oh, she will bring the wine.
I could see Chris Jenner being like a coach or someone that's like organizing like.
That's a great one.
Something like I feel like she would.
Yeah, she would make stuff happen like, oh, we need a ban show.
Okay, let's get the band show.
Yeah, that's so true.
Okay, that's a really good one.
Strong.
One athlete who is not a cheerleader.
Ooh.
I would probably want someone that's, like, strong.
Yeah.
Like someone that is very strong and...
Simone Biles.
Simone Biles is amazing.
That's a good one.
Okay.
That is a good one.
I would pick the Bella Twins.
Both.
Okay.
Yeah, I like that.
I like that.
You know, I'm going to have to go with...
I love him, so I would have to go with LeBron James.
Oh, shit.
Yeah, I feel like he could be a really good stunter.
Okay, that's a really good one.
Well, you're good at this game.
Okay.
One family member.
I'm taking my niece because she's a cheerleader.
Ooh.
Sydney.
Family member.
You've made the team.
Makes Matt.
Is that what you guys say?
Yeah.
You made Matt.
You made Matt.
Yeah.
I'm going to take my little godson.
Damien.
Yeah, he's flexible, he's young.
He can really work on a long hours.
The young bones.
Yeah.
I would probably have to take my younger sister, Amanda,
because she actually is very talented.
Oh, it's like, she's like one of those naturally talented people that don't have to do anything can just do something and you're like, I hate you.
I hate you because you're so good.
Okay, Amanda's on the team.
Okay, one singer.
Ooh.
Damn.
Dead or alive.
Does it matter?
Oh, I got my answer.
They have to be alive.
I got my answer.
Hit it.
Beyonce.
Oh, yeah.
Like the way she just performs is just like, wow.
Why didn't I think of that?
Who are you going with?
Of course, Mariah Carey.
Oh.
But she's going to be just so, like, it's a lot.
She'd make it all about her, though.
I know, and I love that.
She's a nice on.
She's very in the moment.
Very in the moment.
And we'd all have, like, catered McDonald's all the time.
It's fine.
I would take Justin Bieber because.
Okay.
Yeah.
He's my Canadian little treat.
I love it.
We love some Bieber.
I love it.
I love that.
Oh, my gosh.
Okay.
He could do the music.
Yeah.
One fictional character.
Ooh, like, could it be any type of, like, character?
Like, from a movie, maybe?
Yeah.
Ooh, let me think about this one.
I would take...
Who's that girl from the movie Brave?
She's got, like, the long red hair.
She's Irish.
She's a little badass, yeah.
That's who I would take.
Simon Birch.
So cute.
Fictional characters.
I definitely love her.
I love, like, Disney.
So I think I would have to go with
Ursula.
I think I would have to go with the genie.
Oh, nice.
I think I would go with the genie.
I love that.
I'm going to go with Aladdin or Jafar.
Ooh.
I'm going to go with Al-A-Far.
This is great.
D'Far is spicy.
So spicy.
Spicy.
Okay.
And we have ourselves a team, everybody.
I love it.
I love that.
That's amazing.
Where can everybody find you on Instagram
and what else do you want people to know?
So my Instagram is
Gabby Butler's 1617
And the reason it's actually
I get this all the time
Everyone's like what's the 16 17 for it?
So I made my Instagram account when I was
like 12 and I was like
It could be for my birthday and my
younger sister's birthday.
So mine is January 16th and then my
younger sister's birthday is February
17th. So that was the
1617. What does
that make you or a zodiac sign?
A Capricorn. What does that mean?
Headstrong.
Really? No, I'm not sure.
Stubberum.
Stubborn.
That's strong. No, I'm very driven. Capricorns, natural born leaders.
Oh, makes sense.
Capricorns are great. That adds up.
Yeah, what are you guys?
I'm so sweet, too.
I'm, I'm Gemini.
Okay. Okay.
I'm a crazy bitch.
No.
No, but my moon and sun in rising is cancer, so I'm a very soft psycho.
I love it. I love that.
Cancer, 100% little cancer crab.
June 30th.
Okay.
Yeah, so very emotional.
I like it.
I love that.
I love that.
I cried in front of you like two days ago.
That's amazing.
Well, thank you for coming on the podcast.
Thank you guys.
You guys are so much fun to talk to.
I feel like I'm literally talking to like my best friend.
I know.
It's been fun.
I love it.
Oh, it's been great.
I feel like we've,
the time is flown too.
I'm like, dang.
That's what.
When they just told me what time I was at, I was like, what?
I guess I should wrap it up then.
I had another game to play, but screw that.
But yeah, if you guys ever want like any, you want to, you want to,
