Starting point is 00:01:29 And you're Elizabeth Smith? I am. That's me. Thank you for being here in my home with, I made it very romantic in here. Oh, the candles are lit. And I like whined and dined you before the podcast, too. So much. Whining and dining.
Starting point is 00:01:43 We just crushed pizza and we crush some Botox. Now we're crushing wine. So I guess you could say it's a good day. It's a great day. It's a great day to be a lot. What did you say when you were to give me Botox? Oh, what a time to be alive. I love it. Wait, tell me, though, about wine and Botox. Bad combo?
Starting point is 00:02:02 Well, not ideal. Not immediately before, so we could have thought about that a little bit, but it thins your blood. It thins your blood. So you're going to get a little bruising, just like if you took aspirin, ibuprofen, motrin. Anything that thins your blood. You're going to get a bruise. Or you can eat some fresh pineapple. Does that really help? You eat pineapple and you don't bruise? Yes. Bromoline. Yeah, bromoline, the pills. The magical pills.
Starting point is 00:02:26 So they're pineapple. What are the pineapple pills? Basically. That's what's been in pineapple. Here's where my mind goes. I'm like, oh, so does it make you taste better in the foreplay? Oh. Because you know how pineapple is like said to like do that.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Does it do that? You know. I have an experiment. Bromoline. Bromoline. Bromoline. Yep. G&C Whole Foods.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Maybe Sean and I will test it out. Please let me know the. I don't know if this was a Canadian show, but. it was like myth busters yes that's a show right that's a show i'm going to do that tonight with bromelian bro it sounds way better that way bromaline bro maline bro maline bro bro you know and i love you man he's like i love you bro montana i love you brocifer i love you brohemian rap city and he does all those things yes i'm going to say i love you bromaline that's what sean's going to be saying yeah yo damn right he is i'll get back to you on that one thanks um so
Starting point is 00:03:23 you're obviously my girlfriend and my Botox lady Botoxiaire. Botaxia. I can't speak tonight. You're giving me a bunch of new words to work with. How did you get into this? Like how did, what age were you? When did you get into it? Were you always passionate about skin care? Well, I did pre-med, went to school, when to become a PA. And afterwards, I also did a dabbled in photography. Oh, you did? I did. And when I did that, I I loved, obviously, editing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:56 And so I was like, wow, if I could do this in real life and actually erase that and make them feel better about that, this would be great. And so that's what you did. That's what I did. And I was on my way to Greenfield, South Carolina, when a surgeon asked me to partner with her here. So I moved back to Nashville. Wait, where did you grow up again?
Starting point is 00:04:18 Pennsylvania. Oh, yeah, I knew that. I was just about to give away your address. I was like, wait, don't But send flowers It's never mind I'm not going to give away your address And so you originally got into it
Starting point is 00:04:31 To do plastic surgery Oculoplastic What's that? That sounds fancy So fancy So fancy Ocule plastic Ocule means eyes
Starting point is 00:04:42 So very specialized plastic surgery Around the eyes Oh like Like eyelids Brow lifts Lowelid puffiness the whole gamut. I can hear Tucker.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Can you hear? He really wants to join. Oh, they're probably going outside to pee. This is what happens when you have a home studio. You've got to deal with this. But also during the day, I'm like, if I'm recording like ads or anything for the podcast, like all of a sudden a plane's coming in hot or like the garbage truck. And I'm like, I'm like, I need to soundproof this room is what I need to do.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Anyways, go on. Yes. So I worked in ocula plastic surgery for several years, almost six. and then I wanted to start my own non-surgical practice. So I love all things skin and Botox Fillers non-surgical approach. Yeah, do you hear that trolls? Any trolls listen out there? Everybody's always like, aye, you got so much plastic surgery.
Starting point is 00:05:37 I'm like, that's Botox. It's actually not. There's no plastic going on in here. So thank you for that. But yeah, so you fell in love with like skincare and- Yes, I'm a nerd. It's just what it is. I'm a nerd for skin care.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Yeah. You should see my nighttime routine, morning routine. Shon's like, are you done yet? Like it takes me a solid, I forget how long, like 30 minutes. Yeah. But just tell them that bromuline's coming. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Chill out, bromeline. It's coming. Literally and figuratively. Metaphorically and, okay, I'll stop. I just went there. That's so funny because I'm like looking into your eyes. saying these things to them like back to my notes back to my notes um I had a question for you ask the way is it hard to like not go overboard and pick yourself apart because I feel like
Starting point is 00:06:30 women in general look in the mirror and like pick themselves apart of like what could be better and what they need to do and and then if you have like all of the tools right in front of you and you know exactly how to work with them like how do you not go overboard or pick yourself apart right when I'm traveling to all these conferences or teaching and things like that. I walk into offices and all the time I see people who dip their hand in the cookie jar way too many times. So they just get overboard and they just keep trying to correct and correct.
Starting point is 00:06:59 So for me, my goal is to always just go with a more natural approach. So if I see something that I know I can correct and it's just kind of like a better version of that, it's great. Yeah. I go for it. Yeah. But you definitely like, you're just very conservative. Yes, but I would definitely watch TV and I'm like, oh, I should try that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:24 You know, she looks beautiful. I should really, you know, go for that. In reality, it's kind of embracing who you are. Yes. And it makes me accept those things I can't change a little easier because I know what I can and can't do and what a natural look is. And you don't want to change who you are. Right. I like that.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I like that about you. Oh, thanks. Yeah. Wells Fargo has been working hard to invest in their local communities, which I love. It was and is the company's firm belief that when our communities succeed, we all succeed. And it sounds like a pretty solid business plan, if you ask me. Have you ever seen their new commercials? I bring it up because, at the end, they say, it's a new day at Wells Fargo.
Starting point is 00:08:10 And after hearing about what they've done and what they're currently doing for the community, I'd say they're making every day count. Last year, their employees actually put in two million hours of volunteering. Okay, I'm going to say that again, because that's important. Two million hours Wells Fargo employees put in of volunteering through their work with Habitat for Humanity and rebuilding together more than 1,000 homes for low-income seniors, veterans, and families were built or improved by Wells Fargo volunteers. Let's just warm your heart.
Starting point is 00:08:41 And let me tell you what they just did in Atlanta. Wells Fargo volunteers worked to help non-profit groups in the city. They helped organize and set up supplies for the boys and girls clubs of Metro Atlanta's art program. They packed food for the Atlanta Company Food Bank. And they worked to paint and landscape the Covenant House, Georgia, which helps homeless youth with housing. Do you remember, I've worked with the Covenant House before. It helps get homeless youth off the streets. I love that.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Now, that's being part of the community, if you ask me. In 2017, Wells Fargo team members volunteered 25,000 hours in Atlanta and gave $3.7 million to nonprofits. This year, Wells Fargo has committed to investing over a million dollars every day to local communities. They're involved with over 14,500 nonprofit organizations in local communities impacting a huge range of needs and interests. And some of the nonprofits they work with include the United Way, Veterans Associations, and Food Banks. Wells Fargo actually, their employees served over 400,000 meals over the holidays last year. So nice. The company's committed to providing $200 billion in sustainable financing by 2030.
Starting point is 00:09:51 So what does that mean? More than 50% of the financing will be focused on companies and projects that directly support the transition to low-carbon economy, including clean technologies, renewable energy, green bonds, and alternative transportation. Wells Fargo has values we can all identify with and appreciate, like what's right for customers. We place customers at the center of everything we do. Ethics. We do the right thing in the right way and hold ourselves accountable. Diversity and inclusion. We promote this in all aspects of business and at all levels.
Starting point is 00:10:22 And with the track record of investing in communities for over 160 years, it looks like things will only get better and better. It's a new day at Wells Fargo, but it's a lot like their first day. See what's new at Wells Fargo.com slash renew. Establish 1852, reestablished 2018. Your Instagram, just tell everybody what it is so they can follow. You're actually very good on Instagram. Like, you're funny and you're knowledgeable and you're witty and you do contests and giveaways.
Starting point is 00:10:52 And you're like, you're really good about how you do your stories. Like, I'm always intrigued and you answer a bunch of questions that people always want to know. It's a really great account. I know this candlelight's hiding it, but I'm blushing. Thank you. Well, I mean it. I mean it. It's a really good account.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Well, thank you. My whole kind of motto, and I think everyone should have like their shtick, is enhancing your natural beauty to make you look how you want to feel. So I used to say make you look how you want to feel, but sometimes we feel tired. Yeah. And we don't want to look like that. We want to feel we want to look refreshed, rested, the best version of ourselves. So we don't want to change who you are. We just want to enhance your natural features that you have.
Starting point is 00:11:38 have i love that that's really great because i mean that's exactly what i want to do and a lot of times like well after the show particularly i was very tired and i could see it and even like in interviews and everything i was doing i was like i just look tired i look weathered i look like i'm like older than i should look just because i'd like been through so much in such a short amount of time and then you entered my life and suddenly i look like i'm getting 10 hours of sleep but that might be because I am. I do get, I'm really good at sleeping. But I do love that you,
Starting point is 00:12:13 you try to make people feel comfortable. Like, what if somebody comes into your office and this is like, I want to change this? And like, what is the conversation that you have? So that happens all the time. Sad. It's so sad. Every age range. Especially in this generation, because everybody's looking at filtered versions of
Starting point is 00:12:32 everyone else and magazines and social media and the comparisons. They're like, I want to look like that. My skin needs to look like that when they're not realizing that's a highly edited photo. So it must be really challenging. The first five minutes of a consult are me figuring out what their self-esteem is. And evaluating, okay, does this person just want to kind of, you know, age gracefully? Or is there an underlying thing? Right.
Starting point is 00:12:59 And defining what that is is how we proceed. Like if I see someone is really just beating themselves up. Yeah. I'm going to spend the next 10 minutes telling you how beautiful you are. Like, what are your great qualities? Because I study that for a living. I know what people look at, what defines quote-unquote beauty. And so I'm going to tell them all of that.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Like your cheek structure is incredible. Yeah. You go out like, the brows. Oh, I thought you're trying to me. I was like, thank. Oh, thanks. I was like, oh my gosh, thanks. Wait, me?
Starting point is 00:13:29 Oh, thanks. It's so hard to take compliments. I know. And they don't take it well either. Yeah. But it's all about building that up and then addressing things that really bother them. You know, I give them the mirror and I say, what really bothers you and kind of addressing that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:44 But not saying, let's change this. Yeah. Saying, hey, here's how we can make this a little bit better of who you are. And so it's really a fine line you have to teeter on. Yeah. To make sure that you stay natural and you don't go overboard. Like the people who walk in with one big lips. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:14:03 I'm sorry. I'm not your girl. Right. yeah we can talk about it but yeah and a trick you introduced me to was doing a little bit of Botox over um not over above the lip um which because you know how some people have like a gummy a more gummy smile and some people god if i honestly it was something that used to bother me and i think like some people rock it and some people are like i'd rather like for me i'm like i'd rather just lower my lip a little bit and and and i don't like my teeth
Starting point is 00:14:34 which is a problem and I find that just if you put that little bit of Botox over the lip it relaxes it a bit and gives it then you don't have to go in and go crazy filler on the lips to like lower it over your lip you can just actually do a little Botox above the lip and it rests it so that it makes my teeth look more straight right well and it's all about symmetry to you know some people like one lip may rise higher than the other side I have that so you balance we We balance that out with different units. And so it's all about creating symmetry. That's a huge part of Botox.
Starting point is 00:15:09 It's looking at a face saying, all right, this side's a little higher than this side. How can we balance that out? But I had a woman who walked in and she said, I haven't smiled in a picture in 10 years. She's like, every time I laugh or smile or have a candid picture, even, I hate the gumminess of myself. So yeah, popping a little Botox up there, relaxes the upper lip, the lip drops down a little bit. And then you don't have to feel self-conscious about smiling or laughing. And I always say about this kind of topic as well as people are like, but you shouldn't change anything about your face. And you shouldn't. And I'm like, yeah, but you color your hair. And, you know, like I have gray's coming in. I put blonde now in my hair more blonde and more blonde every time because it covers up gray. People don't shit on me for that. But Botox is such a taboo topic. And it's always such like not so much anymore. People are really starting to get down with the talks.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Like the new facial. Yeah. Yeah, it is. But. But it's always such a like, like people don't want to address it or talk about it or say they do it. And I'm like, if you don't want to do it, that is so great. If you do want to do it, props. I don't, like, you color your hair. You choose outfits that enhance your features of your body. You tighten up the waist. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:16:25 Like so many things. You put, who doesn't wear makeup these days? Like we all wear makeup. We're all doing things to enhance our natural beauty. And Botox is starting to be something that people are talking about more, and it's becoming more accepted in life, I guess. But do you think it's also a thing that, do you think maybe people are just upset they can't afford it either? You know, I think it's a combination of things. I think people think it's going to make them look different.
Starting point is 00:16:56 Right. It's going to make them frozen. You know, the list will go on. Yeah. And it's really, that's what I go. it's a real creative baby bad
Starting point is 00:17:07 botas if you can ever tell someone's had something done that's where we draw the line you know if someone does look like they have barely an expression
Starting point is 00:17:17 or they look kind of surprise all the time you know that's everyone says oh they had Botox right but in reality
Starting point is 00:17:26 you would be shocked at how many people have it and you can't tell yeah that's I mean I started getting Botox when I I was, I think, 20, I can't remember the exact age.
Starting point is 00:17:36 I was either like, I think I was 25 because I had like severe lines in my forehead. And it started when I was like 20. And I think I'm just like a really animated expressive person. And some people would be like, well, that's great. You shouldn't change it. But this was like, like one of my girlfriends was always like, yeah, I could see why you'd want to get Botox. Like it was bad. I had like, I'm a youthful person.
Starting point is 00:17:59 I have a youthful base. And then I just had these like creases. Yes. And so I started. I started doing it when I was actually quite young because I heard it was preventative. And so the guy that I went to in Vancouver, I would say his name, but I don't want to throw him under the bus because he did a terrible job. Yeah, he definitely wasn't the best.
Starting point is 00:18:20 But he was telling me like how it's preventative. And I was like, okay, yeah, because like if it's this bad when I'm 25, like I don't want to feel that way when I'm 30 and then 40, whatever. It was something that really bothered me that made me uncomfortable. comfortable in photos that made me uncomfortable because I just looked so not tired old I just told people ask me all the time they go when is the right age to start Botox yeah and the answer is I have seen late early 20s have deeper lines than some 40 year olds yeah so it is so case by case basis and the preventative side of Botox is okay a the best
Starting point is 00:19:03 wrinkle is the wrinkle you never have. Like, you know, if you can prevent an actual line from forming, then you're never going to have to erase that line. And with Botox, I always say that if you start early enough, you're going to stop several things. One, a line from forming. Two, your brows from dropping. So you get those hooded eyelids. Everyone wants a platform to put their eye shadow on. If you start early enough, you're going to keep your brow shape. You're going to keep your brows up. And you're going to prevent lines from happening. So that's the preventative side of things. And that's where so many more people are coming into my office. And they're saying, hey, I'm young. I start to see the faintest line forming. What should I do? And we'll start
Starting point is 00:19:47 kind of baby stepping into maybe a little preventative dose, little conservative, just to kind of relax the muscle and give that skin time to kind of. And again, it's like just all such a personal choice too like the people that just get so upset about it I'm like but that then it's not for you like then that's fine yeah and that says and that's great for you like I'm like wow I wish you know I wish I didn't care about getting Botox either but I do I do I love it I freaking love the talks like this I'm like we're calling me today pin cushion pin cushion poke me I love the talks if you don't great great and that's the thing don't hate on the people who do. I mean, that's, that's the whole thing. If you, because it can be part of
Starting point is 00:20:33 a skincare for somebody, like, or maybe something that somebody's really, somebody's really self-conscious about. And that one thing, maybe one eyebrow is super lower than the other. And if I can raise it up and give you a little bit of time in your morning so you don't want to pencil in your eyebrows, great. Great. It's a great day. Let's do it. What a time to be alive. I do. I love that. Wait, do we ever see, say your Instagram name? because I was hyping it all up and then I was like, I don't even think we gave it, gave the name. It is Elizabeth Wiss and S.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Elizabeth, people always want to spell it. I say Z, because I'm Canadian. But it's, so it's E-L-I-S-A-B-E-T-H. Smith. Yep. That's a real hard one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:19 S-M-I-T-H, P-A. P-A. Okay. Okay. Yeah. You give a lot of good tips and tricks. I love tips and tricks. And I love that you do.
Starting point is 00:21:29 giveaways i think that's so cool yeah it's like the joy of my life is it really i love when people comment and like want to be in it and i was like i wanted to give you get a car and you get a car but it is great like you do a whole like it's a production like you put names in a jar or hat or whatever and you go for it you do a little fan whole thing yeah i've got a lot of bloopers it's great oh yeah and you show your bloopers and i love that you showcase on your page as well like here this person was you know feeling it's not like you're giving these huge lip fillers it was this older lady had like wrinkles in her lips and you just smoothed them out like it's it's nice to see before and after pictures and people just feeling so good about their smile or their you know like
Starting point is 00:22:15 I love it I joked with this one lady I was like okay I'm going to start to take your picture and then after I was like but you want to know on Instagram and at first you goes oh good I don't I want to be on its script. And I was like, okay, that's great. And then after she, like, looked in the mirror, she goes, put me on the gram. That is going on Instagram. That's going on the gram. That is gram worthy.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Graham, which is like, don't I'm offended. We were talking earlier about squeezers and saggers. Yep. All right. Get into it. All right. Let's get into it. So there's a dynamic wrinkle, which is a squeezer.
Starting point is 00:22:47 So frowning, raising. I can't do that without making the movement. Yeah. Whenever you pout. Yep, lip out and pout, smile. Those are all dynamic. So they're going to create a crease in the skin because of that. So Botox works for that.
Starting point is 00:23:02 And those are squeezers. Those are squeezers. Okay. No, squeeze. The sinkers are when you lose volume. So when your cheeks start to lose their fat pads, whenever we start to get married net lines, we get these gels, nasolabia folds, little folds around your nose, those are sinkers. So that's whenever you're losing volume.
Starting point is 00:23:22 And that's just age, right? Oh, gravity, hereditary. I mean, there's a lot of different things. So that's more filler. Everyone goes, oh, you Botox do a whole face. Well, you couldn't move if you did that. Right. The filler is where you replace volume, and it doesn't always have to be where you think it is.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Yeah. Like, if you had a marionette line or you're kind of jally, you know, actually replace your cheek. Oh, so if you put some filler in your cheek that will lift up the drooping. Mm-hmm. And it's not going to change your facial shape. you're going to look great, keep your heart shape. Yeah. And you're not just going to get that monkey face.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Hey, what about Botox in your, what are these that I'm put? Masseter. Because I clench so badly all the time. And I'm starting to notice that my jaw is getting like square because I clench. Like when I go to sleep, I'll wake myself up in the night just like clenching my jaw. Or, and you can, if you put Botox in the, what are they called again? The masseter. Masseter.
Starting point is 00:24:20 That can relax that. Yes. So it's actually a treatment even for TMJ. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So people who grind their teeth, TMJ, I mean, the whole thing. When people walk in and they do that, I can usually tell it with you, you have a beautiful facial shape. So it kind of keeps you nice and angular, but we can always kind of, I see it.
Starting point is 00:24:39 Oh, you got some good master. Oh, yeah. They are strong. The stress is real. You thought you were a pincushion. We're going to pin those up. Yeah, pin those up. So, yeah, you relax that.
Starting point is 00:24:51 that will help you a lot of people relaxes even from a headache perspective if they kind of carry their tension so yeah you can actually significantly slim a face by putting Botox into the masseter because when you get that structure out through here and it kind of pops it out you can just relax that with some Botox it's a beautiful thing it is a beautiful thing um let's talk about sun damage and sunscreen yeah i feel like this this is a big step in everybody's daily routine that they're missing and it's you said it's the most important most important so you know everyone wants to know what the magical serum or potion is whenever you use it starts with sunscreen yeah i mean that's you prevent the damage from happening you
Starting point is 00:25:39 everyone goes oh it's just for skin cancer um UVI UVB it will actually break collagen down so that's what's going to age you that's what's going to create a premature line or wrinkle and if you prevent that with a proper sunblock now there's a million out there and they're not all good yeah what's like the good stuff yeah give me the good stuff what's a good sunblock so anything that has titanium or zinc okay so all of these chemical blocks that are out there that are most of the like drugstore stuff they don't have titanium or zinc in it but go to dermstore.com
Starting point is 00:26:17 get lta md um it is very affordable. Oh. And you're going to get the best skin, the best sunblock out there. What about skin suiticles? Oh, skin suiticles is my like spirit animal. Oh, me too. Okay. I was hoping you're going to say that because I live for skin suiticles. I am all about, they're like vitamin C and the B5 gel and the H.A.5, whatever. That's skin medica. But they have a holoeronic acid, too. Yes. H.A. intensifier. Yeah, that's what I have. yeah um so skin suiticles is my favorite they do duke study so i'm an i told you earlier i'm a nerd so i'm going to read all the pathophysiology i'm going to know why it works yeah so skin suitables has done
Starting point is 00:27:02 their homework basically oh good because i use their sunblock too oh that's great too okay you know how light it that stuff is it's so light it up you're like what am i putting on i feel like i don't even have anything on yeah it's great and it's got like a little tint to it too it's like really nice yeah i'm obsessed okay good i'm so glad you like it oh yeah and that has titanium They did create a new sunscreen recently. I'm not in love with it. It's a chemical block. But other than that, I love the one you're using.
Starting point is 00:27:29 Skin suiticles is my favorite. Their C&E serum, the best. They have C-Fruillic, Floortin. Those are the two best out there. They actually will penetrate into the dermal layer of the skin. So you're going to reverse damage, protect against damage, you know, all the free radicals that come at us. We'll be right back with more off the vine. Grape Therapy

Starting point is 00:28:06 exclusively on podcast one or wherever you get your favorite podcasts. Now back to Off the Vine, Grape Therapy. How do people know where to start with their skincare routine? Great question. Like, how do they know what they need and where to start and what to get? All right.
Starting point is 00:28:23 We're going to start with a... Everybody grab a paper and pen. Right now. Pause. You're driving full onto the side of the road. Go buy a pen and paper. Yeah. Write it on your hand with eyeliner. Do whatever you got to do.
Starting point is 00:28:35 But tears. Go. All right. We're going to start with a core four. Oh, yes. The core four. Yes. The core four.
Starting point is 00:28:43 So we, you know, the whole thing about washing your face, do it. twice a day morning and night your face will age seven times faster if you do not wash your face which is a huge problem for me because I don't think I wash my face
Starting point is 00:28:56 from the age of like born to born to about 27 I'm serious I never wash my face I do sometimes do you be like my makeup's so great
Starting point is 00:29:10 I haven't washed my face in three days and I cringe that's just my eye makeup though like mascara like the eye makeup I'll always wash my face now always always always I was losing sleep oh I'm sorry my apologies no I will always just keep that it'll and then I'll redo the face makeup okay um but really I never washed my face until it's like 27 now I'm a crazy person about it I also don't like water but it seems
Starting point is 00:29:34 to be working for me yeah genetics yeah thank you mom and dad there you go got some good genes core four um core four wash your face all right we're gonna start with that okay twice a day um twice a day you're going to get a C&E serum. C.E. So that's where skin suiticles comes in. Okay. So the C. Ferulic, the Floridian.
Starting point is 00:29:53 If you're more oily, grab your Floridian. Okay. If you're a little more dry, C. E. Ferulik is fantastic. Then we're going to pop in a retinal. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Now you've got to ease into this, bitch. I just called retinal a bitch. A lot of people would agree with you. Yeah. It killed me once. Yeah. I got like severe. I had like burn marks.
Starting point is 00:30:15 So on my neck, like it was aggressive. Yeah, it can be aggressive. So you start it three times a week, only at night. You can start at even 0.25. So you can work your way into it, you know, dip your toe in. So that's at night. That's going to speed up your cell turnover. So it's going to make your skin think like it's six years old again.
Starting point is 00:30:35 So even though you didn't wash your face for, you know, 27 years. Yes. We're going to make it think like that never happened. Yes. So we're going to speed out that cell. So those wrinkles aren't going to form the dead skin is not going to hang around. Your glow is going to be better. And it's just going to help.
Starting point is 00:30:52 It also helps with breakouts. It helps with oiling. I mean, even if I get like a serious Zit, I'll put like just a buttload of retinal cream on the Zit, dries it right up. Yeah. So you got to get used to it. Now, skin suitical is my favorite. Or SkinMedica actually is my favorite.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Oh, yeah. SkinMedica is good. I do use that H-A, or the H-8. their retinol is dermally penetrating. So for all those people are like, I can't tolerate it. This goes dermally and it's time released. So it's releasing over the course of the night. So it's not just one wham-bam into your face
Starting point is 00:31:28 and just be like irritated, flaky, dry, red. So you kind of ease into it. Your cells start turning over. Your skin starts looking better. It's the best anti-aging thing you could do. Okay. So retinol, try to find one that works for you. And can you just, again, like, people, I think people really want to know about drugstore brands.
Starting point is 00:31:49 It's a, it's a hard no, hard no. Oh, man. Retinol's a tough one, just because if it's sold over the counter, the potency is going to be very low. Yeah. So if you're super sensitive, it might be the only thing, you know, you may be able to tolerate. But otherwise, you got to get on a prescription strength. Mm-hmm. The point two five is, you know, affordable.
Starting point is 00:32:13 It's not the worst and it's going to last you forever If you get like the Skin Medica brand I feel like I still have mine And I've used it all the time Forever Like I don't remember last time I bought Same thing with the one I can never remember the name of The H-A whatever
Starting point is 00:32:27 I'm like I don't know what the hell it's called But I love it I feel like I've had it forever Right That's so many people Concentrate on price tag And they go oh my gosh You know this is so expensive
Starting point is 00:32:39 They don't think about how long is it going to last the benefits, how many you'll have to go through the drugstore brand to get to the level of exactly so it's really going to save you money in the long run and you're going to see results because you can use every cream over the counter and be like skin care doesn't work for me whereas you spend just a little bit
Starting point is 00:33:00 on a quality ingredient and you're going to see results so that's kind of the difference you run and then people are spending a lot on like rodent fields oh yeah how many people pour into money I know. It's mind-blowing. Mind-boggling. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Yeah. So anyway, retinol is great. You need to get prescriptions. Okay. It's just, that's just part of it. You can even,
Starting point is 00:33:23 if you have acne, obviously you can get it prescribed, but over a certain age, they're going to be like, yeah, you're doing it for the wrinkle. Right. So,
Starting point is 00:33:31 but that's one part of the core four. Yeah. Ritone. And then we have our antaxident, we talked about earlier. Yeah. And so we already talked about the brain.
Starting point is 00:33:41 with that a lot of people think if they use any C&E serum it's going to get to the skin it won't so you need to get something that's actually going to penetrate into the skin okay um and then we got our sunscreen right so we have wash our face retinal C&E and sunscreen easy it is easy super easy and morning and night no oh so C&E is only in the morning okay well at least the ones we talked about yeah and then retinoles only at night oh yeah yeah I knew that one you can throw in something like Reservatrol that is a C&E kind of serum at night because you're going to heal your skin 35% in nighttime.
Starting point is 00:34:19 So it isn't bad to combat all the damage that you've done throughout the day. Oh, I have a question for you. Have you seen those? I don't know if it's Cio or SIO, SIO beauty, Cio beauty, it's SIO. And they have like, yeah, and they also have ones for your neck and like chest that you sleep in and it like helps because I've heard also that your skincare routine should go right down to your chest. Oh, you're what?
Starting point is 00:34:41 Declate. Declate. Declate. Declatte. This thing? Down to, yep, to the chest. Okay, okay, yeah. That's crazy because I definitely don't do that either.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Not a lot of people do, and that shows your age. And also, we're all looking down at our computers, at our phones, everything like, tech neck. Tech neck. Oh, yeah, that's what you call it. The tech neck. I have just started realizing, I'm like, oh, my gosh, tech neck coming in hot. Like, it is so. aggressive on me right now and it just gets it gets worse every day so yeah every time we look down
Starting point is 00:35:16 you know there's some level of Botoxin filler you can actually do into the neck but skin care is huge yeah you know anything you do on your face do on your neck and declate yeah and do in the back of your hands I always say when you're applying skincare yeah tip of the day tip of the day um put it on the back of your hands on the back of your hands take that applied onto your face yeah and then rub your hands together. Then you're treating the back of your hands. Oh, yeah, good call. Just with the excess Yeah, my hands are aging. You're beautiful. I'll notice everything. I'm like, oh, new wrinkle on the old knuckle there. Not cool. Not cool. Well, I always put it on my left hand and then I look at the right and I'll
Starting point is 00:35:58 like, I need to rub these together. Grab my straw again. Yeah, take my strong hand. I always get your references. I love it. I love that you throw them out and I love that I pick them out. You'd pick up with them, but every time. I thought we'd play a little game of So True, So False. Oh, I like this game. Botox is a poison. So false? So false.
Starting point is 00:36:23 It's so safe, isn't it? So safe. Okay, so it started in 1800, 1989. Oh, I was like, wow. Started then, it's a purified protein. Oh. So it starts. like oh my gosh botulism put that in my shake put it in your shake
Starting point is 00:36:43 instead of making your muscles stronger though it kind of puts them in time out so um yeah don't do that yeah it is only on my face please yeah it's just just there so basically it starts as clostridium of bacteria and they nerd alert I feel like you're like you need to like push up your glasses when you say that Well, anyway, it's... Um, the bacteria, it's through a protein. Uh, that's real bad. Oh, that's real bad.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Okay, so it's, it's creed. It goes into a protein. Yeah. And, um, when it's injected into skin. So people are like, oh, my gosh, I'm injecting poison in my skin. You're more likely to have, uh, poison with taking too much Tylenol. We're taking too much salmon. Salmon.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Tuna. Yeah. The old, the big, It'll get you. It'll get you every time. Finishing each other. Sandwiches. Oh.
Starting point is 00:37:44 I missed you on that one. Okay, so it's not a poison. So it's not a poison. It's a purified protein. Wow. I put your muscle in time out. Yeah. Do you like how I never asked these questions before?
Starting point is 00:37:55 I'm like, just hit me with it. Poison, cool. Bring it on. Botox. Oh, we talked about this. It's preventative. True. True.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Botox freezes your face. False. Very false. A little falsy. And if you want it to freeze your face, it can if you really want to go there. Yeah. That's the whole natural versus not, though. Right.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Yeah, I like some movement. I like some movement. Expression. Yeah. A little bit. Yeah. Men don't do Botox. So false.
Starting point is 00:38:25 So false. We should get Sean on the talks. Yeah, right. You know what the name is now? What? Brotox. Of course. pro talks it's a real thing no way so here's the thing men don't care about wrinkles let's be honest
Starting point is 00:38:38 they don't care about that because men look better with wrinkles yeah they're distinguished yeah but what men care about is being approachable you know how can they look rested approachable put their best face forward all these men especially in business and country music they kind of have to have that look so yeah that's true too because um i can't remember who i was talking to on the podcast but people who like, like record labels and people like who they've signed with, they want them to keep their look. Their look. Like they want them to keep like color their grays and stay youthful because that's apparently more appealing to the fans. Right.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Right. All the ladies. Yeah. So basically with men, we approach it as here is something that you can do that no one can tell you if I'd done. So that's our huge push. is how can we kind of just let you look rested and kind of, you know, your best face forward, basically. So men come in, their number one complaint is their crow's feet. And then, seeing crow's feet don't bother me that much because I'm like, oh, they're like laugh lines and they like show you that you're happy.
Starting point is 00:39:50 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You've lived. You've had a great life. Yeah. Yeah. That's interesting that men care about that. Yeah. So men hate their crow's feet, which is okay.
Starting point is 00:39:59 I soften them up. Again, I always tell people I don't want to take your crows feet away. That's just not what I want to do. And then I'm like, well, do you know that you could hold a nickel between your brows with those crazies? Right. Like you look angry all the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:12 And then they're, oh, give me that mirror. Yeah. I see that? All right. So then we relax that and kind of smooth things out. But it's all about them looking the same. Yeah. Just rested.
Starting point is 00:40:23 I do think it's crazy that Botox actually does make you look rested. Like, it really does. Yeah. yeah beautiful thing so true so false once you stop Botox you look worse can I get a false a false on that one a so false a so false that's yeah because what were you saying some people will come in and be like oh I want to do Botox but I heard that if you stop it makes you look worse I get it all the time interesting all the time people go oh I heard that you know sure you'll look great while you're doing it but as soon as you stop no you just prevented lines for however long
Starting point is 00:40:56 you did it yeah so you stopped the creasing you stop the skin and from aging in that area, you kind of put a time block. Tell me the only, tell me, tell me the downfalls of Botox price for some people. It's not even that expensive. Just, you know, I know this is such a cliche thing, but skip Starbucks a couple times and you can afford Botox. Yeah, it's true. That's so true.
Starting point is 00:41:19 So true. It's one of those things that if you set the time and the money aside, you're going to make it happen. And there's so many ways to save money now with Botox. the reward program and all this crazy stuff. I'm all about saving you a dollar. Yeah. So it's the worst thing about Botox is that...
Starting point is 00:41:39 It doesn't last forever. It's temporary. That it fades. That's it. Honestly, it's so safe. It's one of the safest drugs. That's why it's used in so many medical conditions at this point. It's been so studied over millions upon millions of studies on it.
Starting point is 00:41:56 And it's just really an easy thing. to do. So you come in at lunchtime. You can have the procedure. You're gone in 15 minutes. You can even tell you've had it done. Right. So there's not a lot of pitfalls of it other than if you go to injector that doesn't know what they're doing. Yeah, that's a scary thing I think for people to is like, oh, well, it's affordable. So I'm going to go to that person. Or it's like the Botox parties people throw like Groupons. Oh, yeah. Let me let me get my Botox from a Groupon. Yeah, don't do it. Why are they on Groupon to begin with. Exactly. So the worst thing about Botox is when you go to someone who's untrained, who doesn't know the facial anatomy, who looks at you and treats you just like a cookie cutter
Starting point is 00:42:36 pattern, and they go, oh, like, I'm going to do what I learned in that one class that I went to. So yes, your brows can drop then. Yes, you can. That's what happened to me in Vancouver. The guy that I went to in Vancouver, my brows dropped. I was always like, yes, I have zero wrinkles in my forehead, but why do I look like I'm like, like my brows dropped so. much and I think that was a big part of people saying oh you look so different from when you were on the show yeah because my brows were droopy because I had the brow droop okay the case of the droops I had a case of the droops yeah that's that's very false it's and Botox can fix asymmetries like one brow can be higher than the other that was me too it can
Starting point is 00:43:19 fix you know some eyes or one will be bigger than the other me are you just looking at me and describing what I look like. That was me. I felt like I was very asymmetrical, and it really bothered me. Well, that's a beauty of Botox. Because some people don't even have lines. They just want to be more symmetric.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Right. So it can be used in millions of ways. It's just making sure someone knows the anatomy. Yeah, that's, I mean, I got freckles tattooed on my face the other day. It was the same thing, like the microblading on the brows. They're actually quite faded. Now you can barely see them. But people were just.
Starting point is 00:43:55 mind blown that I would do that. Why would you change the way you look? Blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, I have tattoos on my arms. I have tattoos on my ribs. I have tattoos on my feet. I have tattoos behind my ears. I have a tattoo on my wrist.
Starting point is 00:44:08 I would really like a full sleeve, to be honest with you. Because it's me and it's my style and it's what I like. And it doesn't mean that you have to agree with it. And it doesn't mean that you have to think that that's, like it's my body. And if I want a couple frecks,
Starting point is 00:44:22 let me live. Like, I happen to think freckles are so beautiful. I love them. I wanted some on my face. I happened to think one of my brows was lower wanted some Botox. I want to get tattoos on the back of my arms of birds. I'm scared of birds. Want birds on my arms. Don't question me. Just go with it. You do you. Roll with it. Yeah. You know what I always say? No. Tell me. I say sometimes I tuck my knees into my chest and I lean forward because that's just how I roll. Yeah. I did that. I went there. go on no i i think it's so important to just focus on what someone wants and what brings them
Starting point is 00:45:02 in and how you can enhance that i mean it makes you feel like whatever floats your freaking boat just don't try and like i like how you say enhance your natural beauty don't try and change yourself to look like somebody else enhance your natural beauty do what makes you feel good yep if you want to do it don't get me start on that topic i just about went on a tangent but i'm not going to true or false i mean so true so false Uh, Botox hurts. So I would say... It doesn't tickle.
Starting point is 00:45:31 It doesn't tickle. Now, we usually use numbing cream like today we did not. No. But I don't need that. You're tough. I don't need that. Um, so basically, Botox is really easy. You know, it takes five minutes.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Yeah. Um, it's over. We use numbing cream if you need to. It's teeny little pokes. Like, it just feels like almost a scratch. Yeah. It's, it's nothing like like giving blood. Like, that's traumatic.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Yeah. Like, it's, oh. the worst. So dramatic. But with Botox, it takes two seconds. You're done. It's over. You're left with little beesting-looking things.
Starting point is 00:46:02 And life is good. Only for a minute. Exactly. You can do anything for a minute. So it's really easy. So it's not something hard to do. And like I said, if you have a low pain tolerance, we're going to numb you up. It's going to be a beautiful day.
Starting point is 00:46:18 Yeah. It's going to be a great time to be alive. Great. That's the motto of this podcast. It's a great time. I got a dun d-dun-d-da-d-d-dain-d-d-damb-bram-wam-warr. Let's get to some questions. Mandy Navarro, can you Botox the delicate skin under your eyes?
Starting point is 00:46:35 I have wrinkles from years of putting in contacts and not sure if that area is safe to Botox. Oh, interesting. You're putting in contacts because you're constantly pulling your skin down. Yep. Interesting. Great question, Mandy. Thank you. Thank you, Mandy.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Thank you, Mandy. Thank you, Mandy. So working in oculoblastic surgery, obviously. I am a little bit high. higher trained because not everyone can Botox under the eyes. You had to be really careful about how much, so I do micro-dropleting
Starting point is 00:47:03 under the eyes and it's the thinnest skin of your entire body. So you just have to be careful about that. But yes, that's where a lot of those fine lines start to form. So if we can relax that area or the jelly roll, some people have that little roll that they think is a fat pad and it's a puffiness and you can relax that and make that
Starting point is 00:47:21 look a little bit better. So the answer is yes, you can Botox under the eyes. the scariest part though how do people know if they're going to the right person so i know i i told you earlier this phrase is so silly but um you want to go to a master injecter yeah so they don't need to just go to one course and then be able to inject your face um you want someone who's qualified who has gone to all the master trainings who has extensive knowledge of the anatomy and how to find that's hard you know real self um weirdly helps a lot uh not real self What is that?
Starting point is 00:47:56 Maybe it is real stuff. There's a one kind of thing you can Google that helps you with real reviews. But you want someone who is board certified, who has dermatology or plastic surgery experience, just don't go to your Medi Spa down the street that, you know. And don't go on Groupon. No Group On. I can answer a few of these. Like Cassie Olson, what's one skincare tip that we can start right away that's easy and effective for healthier skin? Sunscreen.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Woo! Yes. Nailed it. Cheyenne, what is the best treatment to get that helps with acne and preventing acne? Oh, good question. Rinal. Rinald salicylic acid, glycolic washes. You can even find some of those over the counter or like I said,
Starting point is 00:48:42 dermstore.com. I'm not paid by dermstore.com. You know what you're going to do is everyone needs to go follow you on Instagram and then you can recap this. Yes. Okay. Yeah. So there are several washes that you need to use. use retinal or retinae or tritonoin.
Starting point is 00:48:58 Those are all forms of vitamin A that are going to help you with some breakouts. There's more prescription drugs, obviously, if it's bad enough, like atralin and things of that nature, Naxone. But just start with some good washes to control some things. You might need some benzoproxas. Again, it's just, I need to know what you've been using. Right. And then I can kind of direct you from it.
Starting point is 00:49:19 Are you prepared to answer a bunch of DMs? DM. DM me. Really? be careful what you wish for that might take me that might be yeah Sam Love
Starting point is 00:49:31 says best eye cream for depuffing dark circles all right that doesn't cost $100 I knew that was she added you you son of a bench
Starting point is 00:49:41 so AGEE eye complex is my favorite for deep puff I talked to you earlier about this color science has something that has a metal tip applicator
Starting point is 00:49:54 And so it's nice and cool. So it has concealer, deep buffer, and it also has, you know, a little bit of some eye cream in it. So that's going to be a good one for you. All of these are getting up there and towards $100. But like I said, Dermstar.com, go on there. They have like 20% off your first purchase. So it'll be great. And hop on to the eye train.
Starting point is 00:50:18 My favorite eye cream is new cutest lemur. Oh, it's just the bomb. What is it? Neocutus. How do you spell that? N-E-O-C-U-T-I-S. Okay. Where can you get that?
Starting point is 00:50:32 I'll give you one guess. Derm... What is it? Dormstore. Dot com. Yeah. You can you remind me... Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Can you remind me to get that? Yes. Danielle Harrison wants to know does Botox in your armpits really decreased sweating. Yeah. Hyperhydrosis is a real thing. Sometimes insurance even covers it. Oh, wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:53 Cool. a lot of people are asking best drugstore drugstore skincare all right i'm going to be real okay real instagram great me with it grape grapes great drink the grapes and tell me all right um so there's some things you can get over the counter face washes cedophil seravet oh yeah yeah great great brands that's what sean uses there you go there you go great um other than that you need to you need to get some medical grade stuff and it doesn't have to break the bank okay this is great because i'm reading a lot of these questions and you've answered so many of them just in our like first bit of the conversation so that's really great um page i'm 25 i'm still dealing with acne i drink water all the time i'm
Starting point is 00:51:38 extremely active wash my face twice a day i feel like i do everything right can't go um one day without a pimple popping up help this could be stress this could be hormones yeah that's i struggled really, really badly. I'd never had acne in my whole life. I came off the show and I would just get the worst, like painful, deep, deep acne like around my mouth. And it was hormonal. I had like, all of a sudden I wasn't getting my period. All of a sudden I was losing hair and I was getting this acne around my mouth. It depends on where the acne is, I guess, because yeah, a lot of it is hormonal, right? Hormonal diet. Yeah. I mean, there's so much. many different factors that you can DM me yeah what's going on that and what you have to
Starting point is 00:52:27 you wash your face what are you washing it with right what are you putting on the skin also i heard something about like bad air quality can even cause well and not changing your sheets not washing your pillows there's so much bacteria that lives on that it's changing your you know um wash cloth there's just a million birth control birth control spiranylactin i mean there's just so much stuff you can get into with acne so it's a case-by-case basis unfortunately i do like this question because i would like to know the answer crystal redman wants to know any products that will help even out skin tones yeah um you're already on one see any is going to help okay even you out um it depends on if it's pigment stuff so if there's diffuse pigment sometimes that's hormonal or melasma so you can
Starting point is 00:53:16 use discoloration defense. If it's just general discolor, like just general unevenness, that's whenever you want to do the retinoles, the Ysini, maybe start with a kind of a start over with a chemical peel, and then get some microneedling.
Starting point is 00:53:32 Oh, yeah, I can't wait to do that. We got to do that soon. We talked about this earlier. I don't think on the podcast when we were just chatting. Chloe Francis says, what do you think about Jade rolling? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:46 So here's the thing with jade rolling. It's the hot thing right now. And why does it work? Well, when you take something that's a little cooler, that's a stone, and you're moving it towards the side of the face, you're going to push fluid towards your lymphatics. So lymphatics is what drains fluid. So if you're puffy, it's going to help drain some of that puffiness. Now, some people are like, oh, it doesn't work for me.
Starting point is 00:54:09 Yeah, because your puffiness is probably there's a fat pocket there. Right. And the skin is thinned and the fat pockets come forward. Right. Right. It's not a bad thing, but it's not the jade that's doing it. It's the action of actually pushing the fluid towards your lymphatics or something cooling that's going to kind of shrink. Yeah. Deep puff. I love my roller. It's, it's so therapeutic. It is therapeutic. I love it. It's really beautiful. It's not like it's working magic, but it's a great habitat.
Starting point is 00:54:40 And last question is from Kate Black. How long after having children do you wait to get Botox. Good question. You can't obviously have it when you're pregnant or breastfeeding, but once you put the girls back in, and come on down. Next day, I literally had a patient she showed up the next week. She goes, yesterday, I stopped breastfeeding. She's like, today, I'm here.
