Starting point is 00:02:36 Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your question, drink to your confessions, and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Caitlin. All right, welcome Great Therapy. I'm a host, Kate LaRisto. Today, I have a very special guest to recap this week's episode of The Bachelor. I don't think we've sat down in front of the mic in a hot minute.
Starting point is 00:02:58 It's been since Dancing with the Stars, I think, right? After. So, yeah, about two months. Well, even though I see you often. We are back. It's fun to do a little great therapy together. Always. We're going to talk about a little Bachelor, little Britney Spears, play a little game, you know, the usual. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:03:16 We were trying, we were just having this, I wouldn't call it. an argument, a disagreement about comparing WWE and Britney Spears, because, which is not, it's not, you can't compare the two. Let's give context to this. Well, you're good at that. So here's the context. So I was in this WWE thing, and for a minute, I got to win a WWE championship belt. It's called the 24-7 belt.
Starting point is 00:03:41 It's the lowest form of any type of championship belt that they have in WWE. And you've been a big WWE. Since day one. Now, do I still watch it weekly? No, but did I watch it back in the days like Hulk Hogan and Undertaker, Sean Michaels? Absolutely. And so, Caitlin is chirping me nonstop. Like, you're just a 12-year-old in the 32-year-old's body.
Starting point is 00:04:02 And I'm like, no, no, no. We all have things from our childhood that are meaningful to us that we get excited about. And we recognize, I recognize it's silly to be this excited about the fact that WWE just sent me a replica belt so I can have it forever. We love JJ and she sent it. J.J. Sent it, which is the sweetest. She's the best. She's the app's. Amazing, amazing, amazing person. But that being said, I'm trying to correlate that to something so you can understand my position. Like, something that you are, like, maybe, like, weirdly obsessed with from your childhood days. And yeah, you look at, like, the videos of you, like, doing, calling into the radio every day. And it's like, you're a big fan of it. And while other people might be like, well, really? Still? Like, I don't. And I know everyone loves Brittany, so it's probably not the best example. But that's just trying to get you to understand my position. But let's just talk about Britney Spears for a second.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Hashtag Free Britney is a movement. Yes. That's been going on for a little while now, but people thought it was a joke. It's not. What did you think? We watched the Britney Spears documentary called, what was it called? Shoot. New York's best, New York's Time.
Starting point is 00:05:11 What is it? New York Times bestseller presents Britney. anyways look it up it's on hulu it's so good yeah so it's on hulu and it's a series by new york times they have many different series which by the way if someone else is looking for a series to watch i just got into this new show called firefly lane and um if you want to stay tuned after j and i have a little convo to dig into some of our favorite friendship moments which is inspired by this new show i'm into on netflix um but anyways yes brittney spears she i i do you think that would have happened to her if she was a man. She was so sexualized. They talked about her breasts. Every day she was like being,
Starting point is 00:05:53 you know, she had to be this sexy blonde with a great body. And she was when she had a baby, she had postpartum depression and everyone called her crazy. She was depressed. She was going through. I think people are looking at mental health a lot different now than they did in 2007 when she had her breakdown. But do you think all of this would have happened as much if she was a man? well I think times have just changed so drastically so I think there's so many things I expected you to say I didn't expect you to say if she was a man really I thought you're going to say like do you think this would have happened if the media wasn't so attacking on her do you think it wouldn't you know I thought there's so many other things that you're going to say but it's
Starting point is 00:06:32 you watch this documentary and you see the things that people are saying to her in interviews then and I'm like you got to be shit I cannot believe the way people you know are talking or addressing her attacking her and she was so vulnerable and sad and it's fascinating to watch that back because it's interesting to just see the whole intrigue and the fact that she started this is a girl that just started on you know what was the she was on what was that show she was on as a young kid oh um the mickey mouse club she was on the mickey mouse club them just went back to high school and was a and she was trying to figure it out and she started performing in balls and i can't believe that hit me baby one more time was her first single yeah and that was a that's That was her first single, and it sold multi-platinum record over 11 million sales to see the way that she, that fandom hit her so aggressively at such an early age. And I think the one thing about her, many people don't know, is how open she was in a time where it wasn't like, you know, right now transparency, raw cells. It's like cool.
Starting point is 00:07:36 But she was so open in a time where it was like, what the hell's wrong with you? Yeah. She inspired other people. to deal with their anxiety and depression and like what they were going through. But I just feel so bad because obviously her father has has some sort of control over some sort, all control over her money, her finances, what she does for work. And I found it so interesting that she's saying she's not going to work until her dad does not have control.
Starting point is 00:08:00 And people have just controlled her her whole life. And that's and then when she breaks down, we call her crazy. Yeah. And what's fascinating is obviously outside sources drove her mental incapacity or mental breakdown, whatever the, you know, the technical jargon is. But the thing I find just wild is this all stem from the one time she just had a panic. It sounded like, I'm not an expert, a panic attack and was like, no, you're not taking my kids, like fighting for her kids. And then all of a sudden, everything in her life's gone. Yeah. Her rights are taken away. And it's just
Starting point is 00:08:35 this crazy concept. And I love the documentary, though, because it's showing things that people were speculating it on that now like we didn't know it's so watching that documentary was heartbreaking because she was so sweet and like humble and down to earth and like loved being on stage and loved what she did and to compare her in her I don't want to say prime that sounds rude but like the prime of her career to now watching her her Instagram where clearly something is wrong and nobody's doing anything about it's crazy and i just watched the nicolana smith documentary too and it was it's very similar just a lot of fame at an early age and uncontrollably not having the resources to deal with the mental anguish of it and you tie it in i'm not going to ever compare brittany spears nicolana smith to the bachelor
Starting point is 00:09:27 but i do just want to put that out there you see a lot of people that come off the show at a very smaller scale than obviously those people and a lot of the social media and feedback if when you're not prepared for that type of stuff it really can shake you at the core yeah so you can only imagine on that level like justin beber he he's he's done really well coming around and taking care of himself and and doing the right things from being absolutely praised like no kid should be put on that level of a pedestal when they're that age like when he sings the song i was 13 when the world put me out a pedestal work um anyways the one thing about the one thing about the the conservative ship with Brittany is it's crystal clear I wasn't aware of this as like a you know
Starting point is 00:10:13 faraway fan or spectator but she clearly did not want her father yeah Jamie Spears involved at all and she did everything and anything and she's continuing to do that and now there's a bank that is also on the conservators ship and they're trying to get him removed yeah and that the one thing that I didn't even know is when you told me about that performance I think it was in Vegas they were supposed to be this like huge spectacle it was live streaming live on YouTube too so it was live And she walks out, walks right to the car, and everyone's like, what's happening? In my eyes, when they show you some of those forms of behaviors, those are protests. Like, that is a peaceful protest from Brittany.
Starting point is 00:10:50 And I still think that we're seeing that. Yeah, because she loves her fans. And she really does anything for them. But that was definitely a protest. She was supposed to come out out of the stage. It was a live stream on YouTube. She was supposed to perform a song and then do interviews. And she comes up out of the stage.
Starting point is 00:11:08 stage, doesn't perform, just keeps walking, walks by all the interviewers on the red carpet and just leaves. And everyone's like, wait, what? But I'm proud of her for doing that. Yeah. And I don't know if you, I agree with that too. And I think if you start to see it, she's clearly trying to get a message out, in my opinion. Now, I think one of the things that's interesting is her, I believe it's her boyfriend, Sam. Yeah, Sam, right? And so he said, now it's important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throw obstacles our way. In my opinion, Jamie is a total dick. I won't be going into details because I've always respected our privacy. But at the same time, I didn't come to this country
Starting point is 00:11:46 to not be able to express my opinion and freedom. Shut up. Her boyfriend said that. Her boyfriend said that. I think that came out yesterday. So I think what's cool about this documentary is you're now seeing a different voice and different backing. Oh, I can't wait. Get back. Get her back. Everyone always asks who my dream podcast guest would be, I used to say Ellen DeGeneres, it is now Britney Spears. That would never, ever happen, but that would be my dream guest. You're the queen of manifesting, so put it out there. You never know.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Yeah, I mean, that one, I'm ready to know. Gosh, I just, when she tells her story, it's going to be like the biggest, biggest deal of our generation. I'm just kidding, that was dramatic. But it'll be such a big deal when Brittany is free and gets to tell her story. I have one last thought about this. I can talk about this all day. What do you think it is, I was trying to analyze this about, like, Nicole Anna Smith. Anna Nicole.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Oh, I'm so bad with pop culture. Anna Nicole Smith. You're bad with names. I'm bad with names. That's true, too. Two facts that I can't argue. Anna Nicole Smith and Brittany Spears. Like, what, like, if they were photographers, they're getting paid, paparazzi, we're getting paid millions of dollars to capture a photo.
Starting point is 00:13:02 What is about, like, those kind of people that. the intrigue is so high because you're literally looking up to these people as role models and you want to see them in their everyday life not just as the character they play on stage it's fascinating to people to see what they're wearing out to the grocery store when they seem relatable to the rest of the public see I think the yeah that's part of it but I think it's also the lifestyle that they live in the the personal aspect becomes bigger than their trade yeah people are more vested in Brittany and Justin and Brittany shaving her head or Anna Nicole Smith at 26 marrying an 89 year old
Starting point is 00:13:42 it's these outrageous things I think that people are more that that just creates this like wild intrigue but I don't know it's a question I'm curious and if anyone out there is listening and you think you have an answer like tweet it because I'm super curious what is it that make is Nicole Anna Nicole Smith sorry she she like gotten acting but like her thing was like she she was a stripper and then she was in playboy but just like why is it like why does it get to that would you ever date an 85 year old millionaire lady no that was interesting um so she when
Starting point is 00:14:17 the guy died 1.6 billion dollars was in his estate and Anna Nicole was given nothing and a Nicole then sued and they rewarded her 400 million dollars they then went against that And Anna Nicole was left with nothing. No. And at the time Anna Nicole passed her state, I think, was worth like $700,000. But Anna Nicole Smith struggled for a long time with money. Wow. That's so interesting.
Starting point is 00:14:45 I'm going to have to go back and watch that because I definitely fell asleep last night. We're going to take a quick minute break. If there is one thing that got us through the past year, it's love. But seriously, despite everything, we found new ways to match our daily lives together with the ones that we love the most. And that's why Me Undies is going all out for Valentine's Day. They just released their V-Day collection so you and your partner can match through it all. And if you're single as a Pringle, that's no problem either.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Show yourself some love in the comfiest undies and loungeware that make you feel amazing because you deserve that. I'm really into anything matchy-machy with friends, fam, sometimes even the pups. And of course, with Jason, I've always been a big matcher. I think it's so cute. Let me tell you, we have seriously been rocking this matching underwear look. Plus, is it not so much fun to secretly have matching undergarments with someone when you're in a Zoom meeting? and only you two are in on the secret? Or am I just really bored?

Starting point is 00:16:45 not nearly enough connection. Like, I don't think that I really understand if there's any connection at this point. I think that Matt is like an unbelievable stand-up human. Like, I mean, good looking, funny, nice, so well-spoken. and well thought out, but I don't think the drama seems so produced that I'm just a little, a little bored. Yeah, I mean, that's every season, I think.
Starting point is 00:17:13 It's just, I wonder if it'll ever change. Do you think the format of that show will ever change? I don't, do you think it's every season? Yes, I do. Yes, yes, I do. It's a little different from last season, so I feel like it feels like we haven't seen that in a while, but it is. that's like the whole point of the show like there's always girl drama always i just think that
Starting point is 00:17:37 the one thing we haven't seen at all the i and i love that and tyler but i feel like the most the biggest connection we've seen the truest most authentic connection was when it was when mac gave tyler see a big hug i know it was so sweet you know we're only on episode six this is always when there's only four left yeah but this is where the real real real real real relationships form you're telling me that's every season tell me what episode you started to feel like becca had feelings for you and like you guys really started to have a connection i agree with that but i asked the same exact question to blake and he said by episode five you saying he loved her but they had a deeper connection than you guys but that's what i'm saying have we seen any deeper
Starting point is 00:18:18 connection i think him and michel have a pretty deep connection and that's about it but but there's another thing too i'm confused about it i feel like everybody is like taking a shot saying they're falling in love with them. Yeah. Now they're saying they fall in love with them and then they're like, I'm like, wait, did I, have we seen them guess? Yeah, that's true. I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:39 I don't know. I just, I feel like I am always on like repeat mode. I'm a broken record when I talk about the bad. What do you think about the season? Eh, I mean, it's, I really like Matt. I think he's doing a really great job. I'm sick of, I don't know. I think I'm just getting bored of, of stuff in general.
Starting point is 00:18:59 like I want I want it to change a little bit I want the show to change it up a little bit like I don't know yeah I think what I think Matt has done a really good job with this when he's had to be decisive in certain instances like with Anna when he let Anna go right away I thought that was really well done I think when at the what's your Katie at the one-on-one he sent her home right that was out of nowhere okay this is what that reminds me of are you okay You know that movie, 40-year-old Virgin? Classic. When Katie goes home, I was like, what that-the-fucker came out of nowhere?
Starting point is 00:19:36 I didn't see that one coming. I thought Katie was, like, going to make it far. I mean, there's rumors. There is rumors out there. A spoiler alert, fast-forward, hit that 15-second fast-forward button right now if you don't want to hear. But I did hear that she's going to be the next Bachelorette. Not from reliable source. Well, I guess reality.
Starting point is 00:19:55 What do you think about that? I think it would be great. I think it'd be great. She's sex-pop. positive that's what they always go for lately um she is well spoken she is true to herself she doesn't care about what other people think as long as she's staying true to herself i i really like her a lot of people have said that she started a lot of the bullying and that what's interesting to me about katy is that everybody loves her on the outside and the girls don't like her there
Starting point is 00:20:19 do you think that's an insecurity or do you think that she's too much for them do i think I think it's probably, I don't know. Do you think it's an insecurity? I'm not sure. I mean, maybe from their eyes they saw that she stirred stuff up. The one thing they didn't drill on down with Katie, listen, I like Katie. I think Katie's great. But the one thing that all the girls or one of the girls kept saying was that you're not here
Starting point is 00:20:44 for Matt. You're not here for Matt. Every time she was saying that, I was like, can you tell us more? Like, what do you know that we don't know? Like, what are you talking about? That's why it's tough sometimes because we don't get enough context from the amount of footage they're showing us some things don't make sense yeah because she wasn't she didn't even defend that like she didn't even say i don't know she did say she's here from that but what was
Starting point is 00:21:03 that about i wanted more information there um and i don't know we'll have to see what happens if she's the bachelor or not i mean how do rumors come out this early about the bachelorette i don't know and when do we even know when the next bachelorette season is because they just like are they going to do bachelor bachelor then bachelorette again could you like yeah i don't know Imagine how stacked paradise will be. They'll be like 15 seasons before another paradise. Ooh, I miss Paradise. I really do.
Starting point is 00:21:32 I thought I was not a fan of Paradise, but I am from not seen it, I miss it. Maybe it's because it's one of those things like I can't have it so I want it. What do you think other bachelors have done that has made the show entertaining that maybe Matt hasn't done? I think he's doing an incredible job. So do I. I think it's the cast that always makes each season. You are right about that. So you don't think it's the, like when the late, like you at your season did really well,
Starting point is 00:21:59 you think it's more about the cast? Yeah. Absolutely. Huh. I think it's about the cast for sure. Yeah. And I think, well, right from a ratings perspective, I think it's, you have to really like someone from the season before to want them to find love on the next season. So he doesn't have that on his side.
Starting point is 00:22:18 That people are like rooting for it. Yeah. They just, they're like, wait, who is he? You don't know anything about him. Yeah. So they're just starting. to learn about him so you're telling me right now yes and I'm sorry I'm asking the questions here I know this is your show I like when people ask me questions uh you think that Matt from
Starting point is 00:22:35 what we've seen like Matt has the his wife's in the room potentially I could really see him and Michelle together you think he gets engaged I mean yeah I really liked I really liked him and Michelle together too but I don't I don't know I don't know I don't know if I've seen that whole I feel like every season it's like so easy to tell. You gotta get rid of the other relationships to really see the other ones shine, the real one's shine. I could be way off with this, but isn't hometowns next week? No. Oh, or it's the week after the next week.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Okay, it's two weeks. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, yeah. Anyways. I'll tell you what, though. They got them in great cars. Every time. He's rocking a $100,000 plus car every time.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I think the question of the season right now is why is Heather driving a minivan? I go on the fence back and forth. I'm like, it's really, it's confident. It shows a lot of confidence. Is it her car? Did they give her that? Either way, she's driving around in a freaking minivan, and I'm kind of here for it. Last time we saw a minivan was Garrett when he played the soccer dad thing.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Yeah, but everyone's rolling around in freaking G-wagons, and she's in a Honda freaking minivan. And I was like, that's kind of funny. You got it, chirp. I think one thing the show was starting to do really, really well, especially with Colton season. was when he was taking kind of like these videos of like his phone. And you felt like it was kind of like cut through the bullshit. It was like more transparent. They call it breaking down the fourth wall.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Okay. So I feel like they were doing that. And with that whole heather seed, they went way back to it. Like who couldn't figure out that that was clearly set up? All right. We're going to hold that thought and talk about getting out of bed in the morning. It's not always easy. But one thing that has made it a little bit easier for me lately is having the most delicious breakfast waiting for me.
Starting point is 00:24:21 And the smell of coffee. I used to not be the biggest breakfast. guy because I felt like it, I don't know, weighed me down, but lately I've been loving purely Elizabeth granola changed my entire breakfast game. First of all, it's gluten-free, lower in sugar than some of the granola's out there, and taste so incredible. It adds delicious, sweet crunch on top of my morning smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, or honestly, sometimes I just stick my hand in there and eat it out of the bag. I know you do that too. Elizabeth, the founder of purely Elizabeth, and certified health coach crafted each granola flavor to include
Starting point is 00:24:50 intentional ingredients that you don't have to feel guilty about when you put it in your body, which definitely puts my mind at ease. Their chocolate, sea salt, probiotic granola, personal fave. It's made with dark chocolate chunks and coarse sea salt. My mouth is watering right now. Whoa, actually. Two servings will help get your daily dose of probiotics and support a healthy immune and digestive system.
Starting point is 00:25:12 If you're indecisive or you'd like to switch it up like I do, purely Elizabeth has a ton of granola flavors to choose from, honey almond, blueberry hemp, maple almond butter, chocolate peanut butter. Piper gets a one-on-one with Matt and we really like her and that name. They seem very sweet together. Yeah, but again, she said she's falling in love with Matt and I'm wildly confused. Yeah. Where did this help come from?
Starting point is 00:27:11 He didn't say it back either and he said it back with Rachel. Yeah, but where did that cut? I'm sure we've seen Piper and Matt together, but I just... I think she's falling in lust with him. I feel like that's what I'm seeing. I don't know. That's where I'm getting lost. Yeah, but he didn't say it back.
Starting point is 00:27:23 That was my biggest takeaway. He said it back with Rachel. He didn't say back with Piper. He surprised her with a special performance from a country band. They were really good. It's always country music on that show. Have you noticed that? Always.
Starting point is 00:27:35 Anyways, Heather continues to balance a pizza on her head, yada, yada. Oh, yeah. I remember that she's loosening her. Actually, I'd lose my mind too If I was quarantining for two weeks waiting to go on The Bachelor I kind of wanted pizza after seeing that I always want a pizza Especially when you see Ninja Turtle pizza
Starting point is 00:27:50 Seriously Anyways, K group date Blah blah blah No cocktail party Bullshit date the bowling That was so boring Pink versus Blue Remember Kit was like
Starting point is 00:28:02 Matt kicked the other half of Kit's like that's what you want your wife Or to be a damn good boulder We gotta go home This is our date Yeah I didn't like that I'm so people are like over the the group competitive dates where one group goes home but anyways then Heather still recording her vlog she's not doing well Tyler shows up I really liked the date between Tyler and Matt and Katie when they were in somebody's ear with the massage that was so funny I wanted to see more of that that was such good TV talk about entertaining what I told who to do that if you were in the massage ladies
Starting point is 00:28:40 ear the masseuse massage lady if you're in the masseuse's ear what would you have told her to do oh i would have i would like that's why i was kept saying they were saying like twist his nipple yeah i wanted to get like information from them uh yeah same who you dating or if there's one person on the the franchise you know who do you think like you would date or like you know like i want the dirt yeah yeah that's true that's a good time to get the dirt right missed opportunity like you think you think man come on you think matt really will get engaged like stuff like like oh it could have been great damn and maybe they did yeah maybe they just didn't show it all they showed was the twisting like like if we can get more dates like that yeah that i will be like put
Starting point is 00:29:19 more of this season on that was so whatever producer produced that date hell yes yeah i agree that was really really great a lot of fun i was laughing wanted to see more and matt was the way he was giggling was the best thing i've ever seen and then he goes it sends my girl home matt and tyler god i think matt and tyler knew a tv show they're fun to watch together they are fun to watch together like what katy said they're brothers they are like they are yeah and they're very entertaining and very sweet and he's like when tyler was like oh my boys all booed up oh so cute uh anyways okay let's play a game or did you have anything else i had a couple things what do you think about the two v one on the weak beat uh the weak bitch energy like what's the whole deal
Starting point is 00:30:00 with oh with mj and check yourself weak and jac is this like a is this i don't know yeah what's up with this what was it the weak bitch energy Oh, I don't know. Is that like big dick energy? I don't know. I'm asking you. Who said it, MJ? I think MJ did.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Who was MJ in the fight with? I don't remember. Okay, weak bitch energy. Check yourself. You are done. That's what they kept saying. And I remember thinking in my head, like, is this the like new lingo of chirping? Oh, yeah, weak bitch energy.
Starting point is 00:30:31 I think it's like about being strong. Like you've got to be strong. You've got to pull yourself together. You can't have weak bitch energy. I don't know what that really means. I just didn't know if you've heard it before. Your circles, and it's like something that's commonly used. I'm like, should we Google it?
Starting point is 00:30:44 Yeah, Google it. Okay. Weak, bitch energy. Oh, well, you look at that. Weak bitch. Urban dictionary. Someone who talks shit, but only from 10 or more feet away. Come on.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Dude talked a lot of shit, but from across the parking lot, he's a weak bitch. Oh, it doesn't say energy. Oh, it's like social distance shit talking. I don't know. It's so stupid. When you just put week better, I know that said week. bitch, but does that say, is there a weak bitch energy anywhere? Is this a new saying?
Starting point is 00:31:14 No, weak bitch, weak ass beat bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch ways. Oh, wait, weak bitch energy here for the cocktail party podcast. Oh, that'll get it. Week bit, episode 14, weak bitch energy. Oh, apparently. Oh, no, they're talking about the, um. Is that going to be like a new thing like WB? Like big dick energy?
Starting point is 00:31:37 I don't know. I'm not, it's not landing with me. The one thing I will end with on recapping The Bachelor is by far, without a doubt, MVP of the whole season, put more screen time on for her. Make her The Bachelorette, if it's not Katie. Who? Abigail. Oh, God, I know. She's awesome.
Starting point is 00:31:56 She's such a cute little sweetie. Every time she's on the screen, I just want to keep watching. Yeah, same. She's not getting enough screen time. Hopefully that comes. I think that's, I think Matt hinted to that on my last podcast, that more Abigail. time is going to come and he also said that i would love if matt abigail were at the end oh me too me too me too or michel or michel yeah those are my two favorites probably uh okay so a little game
Starting point is 00:32:20 i always like to play it most likely this game um well i always play it throughout the season we get to know the women a little more you know how it goes i read you a statement and then you let me know who out of matt's remaining women is most likely to apply to this is going to be tougher you because you're not great with names okay most likely to fall in love in paradise okay what am i doing again most likely you say their name is most likely who's going to fall in love on paradise oh i thought this was only applied to mad i'm like matt's going on paradise is this breaking news exclusive that's most likely to fall in love on paradise i am going to go with can i say peter and kelly oh oh wow
Starting point is 00:33:08 Oh, okay. I meant from Matt's season of girls, but... Wow. Shut up. You think Peter and Kelly are both going to go in paradise and refall in love with each other? I don't know. Wouldn't that be good TV? Would it? Blake and Becca? That would be good TV. No.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Is that going to happen? I don't know. You were with Blake. No, I have no idea. Yeah. Okay. What about most likely to redeem themselves in paradise? um from this season sure or anyone that comes to mind
Starting point is 00:33:42 Anna Anna oh yeah that's a good one most likely to get two tipsy at the cocktail party I feel like Maggie would just throw it out she's like dancing out like I can see her like a thing like canoeing and if they gave her some drinks she's just like ah screw this okay I like that most likely to end up okay this is from the season most likely end up breaking up with Matt Whoa
Starting point is 00:34:09 Serena C Oh damn good one I can see her being like I'm gonna follow What's that line you always say Are you sad? I'm gonna quit before I'm fired
Starting point is 00:34:19 Yeah I didn't say that Didn't you say that on your season No I said that about another girl That's what I'm saying Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah Most likely to flirt with Tyler Cameron When Matt's not around
Starting point is 00:34:29 Katie Maybe that's why she went home Because Matt saw a connection between her and Tyler yeah and then most likely to secretly have a boyfriend back home as we all know these happen every season rachel oh that's my guess okay i don't know that name just came to me um okay so before we finish today's grape therapy jay and i are going to dive into one of our sponsors for today's episode which is firefly lane it's a new show on netflix starring katherine hegel which i love i love her so much because of gray's anatomy um and sarah chalk honestly super ready for a new binge jason and i keep
Starting point is 00:35:07 going through all these shows and we were looking for a new one and i love katherine hegel like i said so i was very excited when i saw the show was coming to netflix and uh i'm a few episodes in now does not disappoint my assistant our assistant she's also the sweetest lady on the planet earth she is watching it too and we've been talking about it we talked about it for like an hour yes she's the best um okay so jay i'm going to tell you a little bit about the plot it's about two best friends kate and tully who meet as young girls and become best friends throughout 30 years of ups and downs, 30 years. I won't spoil it for you, but when
Starting point is 00:35:41 a betrayal breaks them apart, the girls go their separate ways, and it's unclear if they will be able to make up. It's also based on a novel by Kristen Hanna who is an amazing author. So it really made me feel nostalgic for some of my lifelong friends, I guess, especially since I haven't been able to see
Starting point is 00:35:57 them in quite some time. And also, the show is filmed in Vancouver. So there's so many familiar scenes. There's a pub in Yale town, Jericho Sailing Club, and which is so interesting. I can point out Vancouver. Like, as soon as I see anything
Starting point is 00:36:11 filmed in Vancouver, I'm like, yep. That's a good plot, though. No, it's... I'm like, wait, wait, why did they... What happened? Who was your best friend growing up? What was the event? My buddy, Jason Christopher.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Do you guys still keep in touch? Okay, well, you know what? Maybe the show will inspire you. The friendship between Kate and Tully, which I love the name Tully, by the way, is one of the most relatable friendships I've seen a long time. Kind of reminds me of my friendship
Starting point is 00:36:37 with Bree like just so long so deep we lost touch for like but we lost touch brie and i went through a really bad fight and we lost touch for a little while and then we got brought back together by a tragic tragic accident but that's how we became best friends again so i always hope for my niece to have like a best friend like that you know she will i call i call brie my lifer because i think of all the mischief we would get into like one time okay this is really embarrassing i might have even shared it as a confession on my podcast but we would go to the club and then think oh well we'll just sleep in our car overnight uh because then we're not driving under the influence my dad would always pick us up so we were safe but you know what i'm saying uh and then another time this is like
Starting point is 00:37:20 straight out of the movies but we actually did the trick the old trick where you put the pillow in the bed and you pretend like somebody's under there and then sneak out the window and she lived on a gravel driveway so we put the car in neutral and just let it slowly go and backwards until it was off gravel and then we drove away. That's how we snuck out. Like, why do we think the pillow under the bed would work? I mean, did, but yeah. So anyways, everybody
Starting point is 00:37:45 that's listening, go check out Firefly at Lane. Now on Netflix. Cool, cool. Okay. You've been very questioning today. Do you have any other questions for me? I'm going to do some names for you, but doesn't apply to this season. Okay. Who is one person
Starting point is 00:38:00 from the franchise that we haven't seen in a little bit that you want to on Paradise? I'm going to go with Chris Randone. Who is one person that you enjoy following on Instagram that's from the Bachelor franchise?
Starting point is 00:38:23 Jillian Harris. Do you think the Bachelor franchise will be around in 10 years from now? I do not. Do you think that there will be a senior Bachelor and do you think that of ratings will do well? Yes and no There is a senior bachelor
Starting point is 00:38:37 They were casting No but they didn't do it yet Yeah but they say at the end of these episodes They're casting for it Would you prefer the Bachelor of Bachelorette To have been on a prior season or not I would prefer it I'm literally just coming off of these top of my head
Starting point is 00:38:50 I would prefer it Do they put the names on the roses No Do they eat the food on the dates Who was the worst bachelor of all time Juan Pablo Who is the worst bachelorette of all time I don't think there's one
Starting point is 00:39:04 I mean that too I'm not just saying that I honestly cannot think of one terrible Bachelorette I mean that and who are two people from the franchise you would like to see together
Starting point is 00:39:18 Becca and Blake If you could see Tyler see with one person from the franchise who would it be I would like to see Tyler with no one from Matt season i think that's too weird um who is the last bachelor peter that's a last bachelor i don't remember girls from his season and and uh kelly doesn't hannah ann have a huge crush
Starting point is 00:39:50 on tyler c i don't know does she i think so sure let's see that let's say them okay it's almost too much of too good looking though it's overwhelming it's overwhelming it's overwhelming to think about Okay, well, thank you for doing a great therapy with me. I know you have a lot of work to do today. What's on the agenda for you? Yeah, so I had a restart meeting this morning. I have a book meeting. I have the book thing is a lot of work, actually.
Starting point is 00:40:20 And, yeah, I got actually a bunch of stuff. I'm literally so, like, I'll have to do a blog for a deal that I'm doing. I'm actually, this is kind of really cool if I could put this out there. I had, I was close to working with Robin Hood, who had, the big issue with the whole Robin Hood Reddit GameStop. And so I decided to pass on that and I'm working on another deal in which I would be an equity partner for a, it's kind of like a Robin Hood 2.0. So you could do your banking, your budgeting, your investing, and there's all this information on it. So it's still, we're working on a term sheet.
Starting point is 00:40:54 It's too early to say, but I have a big meeting with that today too. That's amazing. Congratulations. And last but not least, what is the shit people need to know right now? or is there something right now free Britney there's free free Britney I was just like oh my god there's so much to know
Starting point is 00:41:09 but the big thing that I think we're all looking on is like what's going to happen with the stimulus Joe Biden has a big proposal $1.9 trillion proposal in place and we'll see how that'll shake out but things are crazy dayday follow restart for more info
