Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story. Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge, there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice. And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am. It's not just any audiobook. This is a full cast performance. So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry, brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy. And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything. Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix. Talk about a dream cast. Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics, and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy. And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
Starting point is 00:00:58 So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again. So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen. We're all with OTV. Podcast One Presents Off the Vine, Grace Therapy. Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your questions. Drink to your concessions and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Caitlin. What's up, everybody? Welcome to Grape Therapy. I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow. Today I got to chat with Lauren, aka Lo, Bosworth, from Laguna Beach and the Hills. She's actually a batch fan. So we recap this week's episode to chat about the realities of being behind reality TV, what it was like to be in the spotlight at such a young age and her amazing personal care product line love wellness. We talk about the importance. We talk about the impact.
Starting point is 00:01:58 importance of vaginal health, bloating, everything that she's got going on. It's fascinating. She's very knowledgeable. I share a few additional secrets about what was being said into that big ear, so awkward, and explain the love for baloney. Remember that segment Wells and I did called That's the Baloney? I don't know. Maybe it's a small town thing, but Wells and I think baloney all the way. And not the annoying lie kind of baloney, but the dirty meat kind. Okay, and those habanero peppers i'll tell you about those okay i hope you guys enjoy here's low hi how are you i'm good i just found my ring box in my dog's mouth um i also just got back from hawaii and it's a five-hour time change from hawaii to nashville and my body is like yeah how long is the flight from
Starting point is 00:02:55 to Hawaii. It's far because I live in New York and like we never go to Hawaii because literally it takes like 13 hours to get there. Oh, it was you just, you just wait. I actually have a podcast coming out today on my trip. But anyways, how are you? It's over. I digress. I am doing so well. I am so busy with work. Yes. Into the July 4th holiday. But I, I have probably 15 Zooms a day. and this does not make me special. Everybody has 15 zooms a day, but I'm really experiencing the feeling of being underwater. We just launched our new trio of probiotics last week,
Starting point is 00:03:34 which are all amazing, but so much work goes into a product launch. And my thing has been so incredible. But what was fun about the probiotics was that we acted as our own internal agencies. So we created the campaign and all the assets internally, instead of, you know, from a creative agency this time. So it was super, super hands-on, which was a new experience for the team. But yes, we're tired. We're ready to, like, lay on the ground now. But you can't when you run a women as well as company. Women are so incredible. I mean,
Starting point is 00:04:08 just everything you're doing is incredible. And is there any light at the end of the tunnel where you get to lay on the floor or are you just got to keep grinding? You know, I think working from home has given me the opportunity to create an interesting schedule for myself. So I'm actually pretty good at creating boundaries for myself between self-care and work. I will say, though, that having Slack makes it a little bit challenging. But I try to stop work by like 6 p.m. every day. And I start around 93010. So I wake up three hours before that. And I like give myself that three hour window to like have a nice cup of coffee, take a walk around Soho in my neighborhood, get some exercise. So I actually wake up early. just to give myself moments of peace and calm and clarity before I jump in my psycho day
Starting point is 00:04:56 every day. That's important. I think that's hard for a lot of people because how much easier is it to just have an extra little sleep in or to just continue because you have so much to do? Like my fiance has a really tough time shutting it off and like separating work from now it's dinner time and like time to calm down. And then he has trouble sleeping, which by the way, the sleeping beauty one that you have, that's my favorite one.
Starting point is 00:05:19 That's my favorite. It's so great. It's so great. But he just struggles. And then I'm the same way as you. I'm like, at this time, I don't have 15 zooms a day. I probably, I have a few, but not 15. Do you get like Zoom fatigue because that's a thing?
Starting point is 00:05:33 My brain by the end of the day is wild. So, I mean, the calls that I'm on are everything from, you know, updating our investors to chatting with our buyers at Target and Ulta, to doing creative reviews, to talking to our microbiologists about product development. Like, the list goes on and on and on. Right. You know, as a founder's CEO, like my, my primary focus is on product development and education, but also investor relations and making sure that our team is happy and
Starting point is 00:06:02 continuing to move forward on a day-to-day basis. Thankfully, we have an incredible president, Joanne, who is very much P&L-minded, business and operations minded. So she is a fantastic counterpart. And our team has grown, you know, pretty significantly. I think our head count is, you know, 25-ish and going to increase from there. You're a small team, but we're, you know, we're small but mighty. It's just been able to accomplish so much.
Starting point is 00:06:29 So so much of the credit goes to everybody on my team and less me. I'm really good at, you know, creating things and building things at the beginning. But like the sustainability of it, the sustained growth, like really I've got to hand it to everybody who I work with. They're just incredible. Well, I mean, everybody adds something to it, you know, like, you know, like, They couldn't do it without you. You couldn't do it without them.
Starting point is 00:06:49 And you're just part of that. Like, you know, you're also the face of it and a lot of other things. So it's a lot of work, I know. And I wanted you to talk about that actually just for people who haven't heard about love wellness. I did a Instagram story on it because when I was filming for The Bachelorette, I was having trouble sleep. Usually I'm okay at sleeping. But I think it was just, you know, the adrenaline and ups and downs and everything. And so I was a big fan.
Starting point is 00:07:16 of the Sleeping Beauty, but all the other ones, and it's the packaging is so beautiful. But tell everybody about love wellness and how it started and what else people can get from it. Sorry, we really put the cart before the horse. I'm just unloading on you. I'm like my Zoom fatigue. No, this is the place to do it. And I am also the most, I don't know how I have this job. I'm the most all over the map kind of person in interviews and everything I do. So I was like, you're speaking my language. it's all good. Yeah, so love wellness. We make total body care products. We make everything from personal care, intimate care products that are incredibly innovative, made with clean ingredients, doctor developed, basically replace all the old school legacy brand stuff on the shelf like
Starting point is 00:08:03 Monastat, Badgisil, Somers Eve, with like clean, actually good for you products that support women's bodies and microbiomes and also does a lot of great product education. you actually know why you need products like this or why you don't and how they work with your body. And then we also have a great line of lifestyle supplements, bye-by-bloat, Sleeping Beauty, like you mentioned, which just won the in-style 2021 Best Beauty Award winner. Whoa! That's huge. Congrats.
Starting point is 00:08:35 That one is really popular. So we have lifestyle supplements that really run the gamut. And then we have our new trio of probiotics, which just, launched last week. So we've had Good Girl probiotics in our lineup for five years since I started the company. We've sold almost a million units of that product. It has thousands of five-star reviews. That probiotic is specifically tailored to support the vaginal microbiome and urinary tract. So with probiotics, basically, we're using the campaign slogan, different strains for different gains. So basically, different types of good bacteria in our different probiotic
Starting point is 00:09:08 products support the different microbiomes in and on the body. So Good Girl is for vaginal and urinary tract health. It's our all-time bestseller. Then we have our new product gut feelings probiotics, which is like your simple, straightforward, classic gut health probiotic. That's a great name for it. Thank you. I wake up in the middle of the night with product names at like 2 a.m. I wake up gut feelings probiotics. That's it. So that one is a pre-pro postbiotic formula. So it supports the complete life cycle of gut bacteria from like feeding it with prebiotics, which is fiber, which is basically the fuel for probiotics, the live bacteria, which then ferments into postbiotics. And that fermented bacteria is like critically important to digestive health, the gut barrier,
Starting point is 00:09:54 immunity. And then we have clear skin probiotics, which I'm personally very excited about. So it has a, you know, clinically tested strain of good bacteria in it that reduces the number of acne pimples on the skin. So when you're thinking about probiotics, think about, like I said, different strains for different gains because you're going to. going to start to see more brands coming out with different types of probiotics for different types of the body. But, you know, we, you know, create really innovative products that's like part of our brand mission. So even if this concept is new to you, it won't be new for very long. So we're just excited to kind of like be leading the pack when it comes to innovate.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Absolutely. That's awesome. That's so cool. I love that. I'm definitely going to try it because I first of all the importance of vaginal health I feel like nobody really talks about that and well except for did you know that guinness paltrow you probably know this made a candle that smells like her vagina I did I saw I didn't know that until my producer told me and I was like it's what what like it only smells like hers does her smell like a nice pretty candle I'm not sure I haven't actually smelled the candle so I'm not sure but at love wellness we definitely take a doctor-developed, uh, science-backed point of view when it comes to personal care. So not woo-woo at all.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Yeah, it's science back. Like, if facts, we like fats, we like fats. Clean ingredients. Everything is fragrance-free. Supports the vaginal microbiome and good bacteria, which is really, you know, what it's all about. So what's interesting is, you know, when I started the company, there was such an information gap between what LBGYNs and different doctors know.
Starting point is 00:11:38 and how they translate that information to patients and, you know, just the broader public, right? So I say that as a brand, what we've been able to do really effectively is talk about biology in ways that are common sense and easy to understand so that you know, okay, I get why X, Y, Z products are bad for me because they do this to my body. And instead, I want to use products like this to get this result instead. You know, so as a brand, we've been able to sort of translate that to people who love, love wellness, who need products like this really effectively. And I think for so long, you know, that information gap has not necessarily like held up the stigma around personal care or intimate health, right, at least from an anti-feminist perspective. Yeah. Just made it difficult to bring down that wall.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Because once you understand something, it becomes a lot. easier to talk about, right? So true. If you're talking about the vaginal microbiome and you understand it's bacteria and they create your pH balance, you're like, oh, that's actually freaking cool and not embarrassing. I like that you are so knowledgeable about it. I mean, I know it's your product, but it's nice to hear you talk about it and know so much. Like, it literally makes me believe in it even more, even though I use it already. I was like, I hear you talk about it. I'm like, she gets it. You know exactly. And I like, you seem very passionate about it, which I love. oh gosh i love this stuff it's it's cool that like have you always been into was this a like
Starting point is 00:13:10 oh you have yeah yeah absolutely if i you know i know i was on reality tv a long time ago but when i was little and growing up i always wanted to be a doctor and i'm not a doctor i obviously recognize that that's why we have a team of doctors that helps us with the brand and creates products but this is the stuff that is just so fascinating to me i love the human body how it works how to optimize it. It's the stuff that's so sticky in my brain. Like, if you asked me to do long division, I would struggle. But if you want to talk about bacteria, I am, I know so much. I love that, that, like, biology and the makeup of your body, that's sticky in your brain. Like, for me, I'm like, family guy quotes, like movie quotes. I'm like, I wish I had a little bit
Starting point is 00:13:56 more of that in me. I wanted to ask maybe a couple facts, like about maybe vaginal health or the human body that people should know that they don't know. So I think, you know, what we have been talking about lately is that probiotics, in my opinion, are just as important as multivitamins. And I started love wellness because I was really vitamin deficient and it was causing me to have all of these issues. It was causing me to be depressed, have anxiety, get chronic yeast infections, runs the gate, right? But the gut really is the home of the immune system. And as a human that lives in 2021, a lot of the things that we're dealing with and encountering every single day disrupt your gut microbiome, your skin microbiome, your vagina microbiome, such as antibiotics, antacids, over-the-counter pain medication, preservatives and food, chemicals and food. chemicals and sunscreen, pollutants in the air.
Starting point is 00:15:05 The list goes on and on and on, right? Think about all the things that your body is dealing with every single day that 100 years ago, we weren't really having to deal with every single day. And so that's why all of our gut health is suffering and why we're getting chronic yeast infections in BV and like why you might be having cystic acne or whatever it is, right? You might have dandruff like that. The scalp is its own microbiome.
Starting point is 00:15:29 And so I would say it takes. a wake-up call, like the one we're trying to provide people with right now through the new different strains for different gains campaign to realize that like a lot of the stuff that you're doing every day is harmful for your microbiome. And so probiotics really are critical at this stage like in human development on this planet to take every single day. So probiotics are just as important as multivitamins. And I think that's a good sort of just like nugget of information and like a good, like something that just can, you know, start to, like, peak your interest in terms of research and products you should be using or not using, et cetera.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Yeah. And so the, like, having clean products. Now, do you believe in that was like skin care and hair care and everything? So I don't think that all of your products need to be completely naturally derived. Okay. I think that there are tons of synthetic ingredients that are proven to be safe and effective for humans. But there's also a list. that is not safe and effective for people. So it's really about doing your own research and testing products. And if they don't work for you personally, then stop using them, right? But what works for me may not work for you and vice versa, right?
Starting point is 00:16:43 Yeah. It's crazy because I'm doing a 12-week program about just listening to your body, seeing what works for your body. Like, because everybody's so different. Like you just said, what works for you might not work for me. And I think a lot of people get on this train of, well, she's doing it. And I see her do it on Instagram. and I think that's cool that you have just so many different unique products that people can
Starting point is 00:17:03 try and listen to your body and see how it works for you. What's your top three sellers? Sure. So bye-bye bloat is very popular. Buy-by bloat helps with water weight, digestive bloating, hormonal bloating, and it really, really works. Secret, I take four by-by-blote capsules. It says on the bottle like two to four, but I take four. Like, I go hard with bye-by-blot.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Yeah. And when you take it, take it with a lot of water because it just kind of helps to flush out your system. So that's an incredibly popular and effective products. I love, I'm going to tell you three more products. Please. The killer, which is our boric acid suppository, it's a single ingredient vaginal repository that helps with yeast infections and BV.
Starting point is 00:17:45 And there are some other boric acid repositories out there that have like tea tree oil in them, coconut oil. You don't want any of those things in a boric acid spository. Like, it's not doctor recommended. just go for a single ingredient suppository. It will change your life if you have chronic infections. The next is our pH balancing cleanser. It's our intimate cleanser.
Starting point is 00:18:06 It's totally free of fragrance. And this is a product that's 100% natural. So it's safe for external cleansing. And a lot of people, when it comes to intimate cleansers, they're like, oh, wait, you're only supposed to use water down there. Yeah, you can just use water down there. But a lot of people do use bar soap when they're washing their body. And it's the same thing with your face.
Starting point is 00:18:25 you don't want to put the bar soap on your face, you use a face soap. Right. So if you want to cleanse externally, like on the vulva, you should be using a product that is safe for that part of the body that doesn't kill your good bacteria in the vaginal microbiome. So our pH balancing cleanser is perfect for that. And then good girl probiotics, really, like, that is the best selling product for a reason. It really helps to support vaginal tract health and urinary tract health.
Starting point is 00:18:52 It is incredible. I take that one. Yeah, it's great. It is great. Because I have a bunch, and I actually wanted to ask you, can you take all of them, like, in the same day? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:06 We're working on new, like, infographics on the website to help people understand how to take the products together better because that's, like, the number one question we get. It's like, can I take them all together? And the answer, for the most part, yes. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I was talking to Tasia when I was in New Mexico. I was like, can I take all of them? Because they're all amazing.
Starting point is 00:19:25 And she was like, yeah, I think so. Yeah, that's good to know. Where can people buy the product? Let's get that out there. Oh, okay. So you can buy our new probiotics on lovewellness.com and the entire product line up there. You can also buy most of our products on Amazon. We have our own Amazon store.
Starting point is 00:19:43 So that's a sport, you know. And then you can also buy them in every Target store and every Ulta Beauty store. That's awesome. You must be so proud of yourself because that's a huge accomplishment. It's wild. And you're working so hard. I don't even, like, know you and I'm proud of you. I'm like, good for you.
Starting point is 00:20:00 That is awesome. Thank you. It's so nice. No, for real. That's awesome. And I know, like, you say it was so long ago that you were on reality TV, but people still know you, of course, from Laguna Beach in the hills. And I'm, like, actually one of those weirdos that have never watched it, much like so
Starting point is 00:20:17 many people have not watched The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. You know, it's like, I don't know how because everyone I talk to, if I say, like, I haven't Sex in the City, the Hills, and Laguna Beach are three things. People are like, what's wrong with you? You have sex in the city either? No, it's weird. I don't. And I tried.
Starting point is 00:20:36 And I tried. I think I shouldn't start from the beginning because season one's weird. It's so fun. Okay, okay, fine. I always say that. Okay, fine. I'll try it. And then I never do.
Starting point is 00:20:47 I'm really into reading right now, so I'm really like head first in all of my books. But reading is great. Do that. Yeah. It is. I feel like I watch the dumbest shows. Like, I like cartoons, things that, but that makes me tune out where I'm like, why don't I read? Because not only am I tuning out from the world, I'm like going into a little fantasy land and like learning and my vocabulary gets better. And I just feel smarter after reading. I'm like, yeah, let's do that. Yeah, everything's good. But I will say a cartoon that I love is Tuka and Bertie. Have you seen that? No. Writing it down, though. First season was on Netflix, Tuka and Birdie. It's Ali Wong and I can't remember. And then the next season is I think on, it's on TV. But oh my gosh, it's like cartoon for grownups. It's very cute. Oh, Casey, I'm into that. Okay. I'm going to, after I finish my book, by the way. Have you read Verity, by the way? No. Okay. That's, I'm going to send you that book after this. I'm like doing a whole book thing where I lost my, in that travel story I told you, I lost my book a long.
Starting point is 00:21:49 the way, which is like one of the best books I've ever read. And when I got to the hotel, I like went on Instagram. I'm like, is anyone in Maui can bring me this book? Someone dropped it off for me at the front desk, but the hotel also went out of their way to go and get it. And then the author of the book, like, put it on her story. She's like, this is amazing. Like, people are very passionate about reading this book. So, you know what? It's called the sisterhood of the traveling Verity book, and I'm going to get you a copy. Okay. Okay. So obviously everyone knows. you from those shows. But that was 2004 and 2006? Yeah. When I was first cast onto Laguna Beach, it was actually 2003, the show premiere in 2004. And then I think the show all, I think the hills
Starting point is 00:22:33 wrapped up in 2010 or 2011, if memory serves correct. So I haven't been on TV in a really long time, but the internet exploded when we were on TV and continued to explode. So I've been in the very fortunate and privileged position to be able to, you know, maintain an audience to a certain degree to continue, you know, share my life and things like that. And also my experience with health, you know, because for me, my health has been up and down for the past few years. And, you know, as I have navigated that and built a business to really serve different need states, I think I'm just so grateful that I've been able to continue to. connect with people. And there's so much information out there when, you know, you're willing to be vulnerable and to open yourself up. So I will say when I was on TV, I wasn't vulnerable at all. I didn't want to share anything about myself. And when I was cast onto Laguna Beach, I specifically
Starting point is 00:23:36 asked the producers, please, like, put me in a role where I don't have to share things about myself. And they acquiesced. And I, and I would say for me long term, it has served me much better than if I was a main character on the shows. How were you that self-aware at that age? I just had my old soul, I guess. Oh, okay. Yes. And I also just felt embarrassed. I was a kid. I was like, I don't want to date on this show. I just want to keep my private life private. But that's something that a lot of people don't know is that I specifically asked from the beginning to to keep my private life private. And little did I know that on, you know, TV shows, they always need the friend to ask all the questions. So I didn't know that they were going to plot me into that
Starting point is 00:24:25 role, which like I said, I think has served me better long term. But yeah, that's sort of my origin story is I like didn't want to date and I didn't want to share my private life. So, you know, now that I can do that on my own terms on the internet, you know, it's. feel safer. My gosh, that's so, I was not that self-aware at that age. I just thank like the Lord every day that nobody put me on TV when I was that age because I would be in a very dark place right now. I would not be where I am and it's, it's a blessing that I wasn't. So good for you for, I love that. You're an old soul. I love that. I've always connected to old souls. My niece is one and I'm just like, special, special people. It's like, you've been here before and you've done this and you know
Starting point is 00:25:10 how to navigate in certain ways. Maybe, I don't know. Well, it's worked out very well for you. And you were saying, like, the role that you played, was there that much, like, because I remember that one thing I watched, it was the last episode of the Hills, and it was like a scene. And they said, like, end or cut or something, and all the backdrops went away. And I was like, wait, was the joke on us the whole time?
Starting point is 00:25:33 Like, did that, was that a role, were people playing, or were you really playing yourselves? I would say yes and no I think for some of the people on the show ending it in that way allowed them to save face to a certain degree because they could always go back to like the you know the talking point of like oh it was fake
Starting point is 00:25:52 right right some of it was definitely manipulated some of it not yeah I don't know everything that was fake and real to be honest with you and like at that time like I wasn't a main character and I, like, didn't care about it that much.
Starting point is 00:26:09 You know, I showed up my job, I did my job, and then I went about my own normal life. I even watched any of the episodes that were on TV to be on TV. So sometimes people will still ask me about some drama or whatever, and I, like, have no idea what they're talking about. You're like, don't know, wasn't there. Can't recall. But it's interesting because I obviously, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:31 was behind the scenes for, you know, almost a decade. So I intimately understand how TV is made now. So when I watch The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, I'm like, did the producers make them keep that person on this week? What's happening here? You have a little more insight. Yeah. Yeah. You've got a different perspective on reality TV.
Starting point is 00:26:55 And it's funny because everyone like has something like you always had, first of all, all my listeners love you. And everyone said that you had the most like iconic. quotes about like your mom being like it's not a fashion show and you're saying like every day is a fashion show or like how you didn't have service on your phone or you know doesn't your fucking phone know you need to make people always have these quotes that people remember that you would never even think they would remember but still to this day probably like say to you but I was laughing because I always pick out quotes from the night on the bachelor the bacheloret and Courtney last night had the weirdest one he goes it's just a bunch of baloney and who likes
Starting point is 00:27:34 baloney. First of all, the fact that he said a bunch of baloney made me L-O-L because that's funny. And then he goes, who likes baloney? And then I had a whole segment. Do you know who Wells Adams is? He's engaged to Sarah Highland and he's from The Bachelor World. Oh, okay. Yes. Yes. So we did a whole segment on my podcast called like, that's the baloney. And it was things that were really great because growing up him and I both loved baloney. And we did like this whole segment and people will still come up to me in the airports would be like, you're the baloney. And I'm like, oh my gosh, that really stuck. And so when Courtney said that last night, I'm like, I do. I like baloney. I'm like, is that something like some little kids grew up on? Did you ever
Starting point is 00:28:16 eat baloney? I don't think I've had baloney in my entire life once. Well, there you go. That's not once. I have no, like, is it, it doesn't taste like a curious. I wouldn't try it Now, if you haven't. I have no idea what the flavor profile of bologna is, zero. It's like a thin, extra salty, flat hot dog. Like, it's processed wiener. This is why you have not eaten. You're eating a hot dog sandwich every day.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Basically, basically. This is off the vine. Grape therapy. Anyways, let's dive into The Bachelor. because now do you watch it regularly or were you just being an angel sweetheart for this podcast and watched it? So I have watched The Bachelor and The Bachelorette historically. Okay. So I know a lot about the show. I have been watching this season in preparation for our chat today. And I shooketh by last night's episode.
Starting point is 00:29:23 Starts with like Thomas. Okay. Do you think Thomas now, given that you've been in the reality TV show world. Do you think he's just getting a bad edit or do you think we like he's red flags all over. We don't trust Thomas. Okay. I think red flags, but also I was saying this to my friends that I was watching with last night as I was screaming at the TV. I was like, I'm going to say Thomas should be the bachelor because it's so hot. I know. And interesting and complex, even if he might be a little bit evil that I think that he would be a really compelling bachelor so I know that he's never going to be now because like he's been a bad guy he got kicked off the show or whatever but yeah but that you make a good point because he could get you know he's getting this this you know I did
Starting point is 00:30:14 want to be but then I felt now he has his chance to redeem himself in paradise and maybe the whole thing turns around where he actually does end up being the bachelor well I thought what he said to Katie last night when he was in the hotel room was actually really honest. He was like, well, I think a lot of people coming on this show would consider that at some point, they may be the bachelor or the bachelorette. I thought that was really honest and really realistic and not necessarily this like negative thing. Like I think that it's like always a possibility, right? Totally.
Starting point is 00:30:47 I know like Katie said like there's definitely people on the show that never want to be the bachelor that are just here for love. And I was like, yeah, but, like, we're all human beings. And, like, I would say 90% of the people that go on consider the possibility. Yeah. So in that way, I thought that what he said was kind of important. So I don't, I don't want to, like, give him the benefit of the doubt. I think what a dummy to go on TV and literally say, like, yeah, I thought I could be The Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:31:16 That's so dumb. Yeah. But I thought that he was really handsome. and out of all those guys, I hope that he's the next bachelor. You might be right. I mean, who would have thought that the girl walking out of the limo with a dildo on last season would be the bachelorette, but here she is. You never know, you never know. But I agree where, I mean, I've always been honest that when I went on, I was not trying to be the bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:31:43 In fact, I didn't even think there was a chance. I thought, like, I'm Canadian. I'm not what they look forever. I, like, swear, I have tattoos. I was like, yeah, right, like I'm going to fall in love. I went on for the opportunity. And I was like, well, what else can I do with this? And I've always been honest about that.
Starting point is 00:31:59 And I think that's very, especially in the times that we're living in right now where you can create businesses or start platforms or do what you want to do, I totally get when people go on there for the experience to see, you know, what could happen for them. And what a bonus if they fall in love out of it. You know what I mean? 100%. I mean, there's many different outcomes, right? like you could fall in love, you could become internet famous and start a business, you could
Starting point is 00:32:25 become the bachelor. So, I mean, I think that there's a lot of reasons and possibilities that people go on the show. And they also could want to fall in love with whoever the person, you know, the person is. And like, I think at this point, we have to understand that like all of those options are on the table to a certain degree. It's so true. And just because you, may have a good business opportunity afterwards doesn't mean that the search for love is disingenuous, right? You can both can exist. Both can exist, yes.
Starting point is 00:33:01 One doesn't have to cancel out the other. Yeah, you're so right. I'm fully with you on that. And Thomas, he's literally like six, six. And yeah, he's just. Everyone was screaming, I want to climb Thomas at my house watching the show. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:33:19 That's what is that movie? oh bridesmaids when she's like, I want to climb him like a tree. That's what everybody was saying last night. And then we had the date where they had to do truth or dare, which I thought was so funny because I was there, obviously. And I'm watching them like, I was thinking they're going to pull off those tops and there's going to be like cockroaches or like, you know, crazy things to eat. And they get to eat Twinkies and chocolate cake and noodles. I thought it was a little gross. What was that show where you literally did have to eat cockroaches or like put your hand in the thing with all the Fear factor. Fear factor. Yeah. I was hoping it was going to be more like fear factor. That's me too.
Starting point is 00:33:55 When they were like, yeah, the guys are going to have to eat all these carbs. And I'm like, what? What? I know. That guy was like, I haven't had a carb in seven years. I was like, okay, bro. First of all, that's impossible. Second of all, I think he was quoting, have you seen the movie stepbrothers? Yeah. Do you remember when Derek, the brother Derek comes up into the tree house and he's like making fun of the brothers and he lifts up his shirt and he's like, I haven't had a carb. since 2007. This is what I'm working with. I think he was trying to make like a... I hope it was a joke. Well, I mean, he probably, yeah, there's no way because there's carbs and vegetables. So he's a dangleing. But who's your favorite so far? I mean, that day was so funny. I was like, Trey is a vibe. He is so funny. And everybody loves Greg. But I mean,
Starting point is 00:34:43 that was a good group of guys on that date. So Trey is extremely handsome. And I was so nervous for him last night. I was like, the messenger always gets shot. I know. The messenger always gets shot. And he didn't. He got the road. Yeah. And so I was like, huge relief for Trey. I think he's like handsome and smart and eloquent and cool. But I think that my favorite is Michael who got the rose the previous week. I think that him and Katie are a really cute match and they seem really like each other. He is such a genuine little soul too like his sweet facial expressions and like he's really putting himself out there and I he's one I truly believe came on for love he's he's one of them the like in the 2% he's one love yeah he's such an angel for Instagram he came for love he did oh my gosh I also was laughing
Starting point is 00:35:39 the guys when they went to the big ear and we're talking into it they were they were always like can you hear us and we're like, no, no, not at all, but we could. And some of the stuff they could not show on ABC. Like some guys were being like, I'm going to bend you over and like give it to you from behind. And I was like, oh my God. It got aggressive really quick. I was like, holy, this is not going to make TV. But anyways, it was so funny to watch them do all of that. And then we tried to eat the hot pepper. Have you ever had a habanero pepper? No, but don't do it. You know, I've been in Indonesia, or sorry, not in Indonesia, in Holland to these Indonesian restaurants where they have these varying degrees of like hot foods. And I have experienced like the hottest food on the planet there. So I did, it definitely felt for those guys. I had a chuckle during those moments when the guys were like crying. Oh man. It was, I mean, I took like a couple nibbles and I was like I'm not okay. What is, okay, here's a question. What is something you could eat a giant plate of like your favorite thing on the planet? I would probably choose a fruit or a watermelon. That's such a lame answer. No, it's smart, actually.
Starting point is 00:36:46 But after seeing those guys, like house fettuccini noodles last night and Twinkies, I was like, no, no, no. Yeah. No, no, no. That's actually a really smart call watermelon. Okay, what would you not be okay to eat a giant plate of? Can't tuna. It's my number one least favorite food in the entire world. Ew, sick.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Okay, really wait. Tell me why. I just hate it. Raw tuna, love. Cooked tuna, hate. Did you see that subway has now found that there is like no tuna DNA in their subway tuna sandwiches? I don't eat it subway, man. So like, I don't know. You don't eat bologna. You don't eat it subway. And I'm like, God, I love myself a subway sandwich. Throw
Starting point is 00:37:25 some bologna on there. You know, since I was a kid, I've never really been a fan of sandwiches. Like, I don't know why. I live for a sandwich. I'm just like, eh, no, not for me. Wait, what do you eat at lunch, salads? Like a salad or like, you know, some chicken and rice and vegetables or something. Oh, I wish I was like that. I'm like, I live for a good sandwich. It's like one of my favorite things in the world. I don't have anything against bread.
Starting point is 00:37:53 I like bread, but like bread with mayo and like a weird potato and like a weird turkey. I'm like, no. That's, I love like every veggie in the world. Like I do bread, mayo, spicy mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, pickle. Wow. Yeah. I just load that up.
Starting point is 00:38:14 I would eat it, but it's just not my go-to. But a tuna-fish sandwich, I would really, I would rather walk 100 miles barefoot in a scorching sun than have to eat a tuna fish sandwich. Wow. That is passionate. Yeah. Hey, favorite for tuna fish. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Okay. Also, what else happened in this? I feel like it was a fun episode. Like, the last one was really heavy, and this one was actually really fun. Like, Andrew, was it Andrew S getting his asswax? Who got his asswax? Well, I don't know, but that was funny. I thought.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Oh, no, it was Trey. It was Trey, because Trey's so funny. He was, like, losing his mind. I thought there was going to be one more date, but I think that the drama with Thomas and then that guy, Blake, I think his name is showing up, like, cut into screen time. Maybe. Like, I was there. I don't know. Maybe they'll show it next time.
Starting point is 00:39:08 It was just an evening of drama. My friends were like, she can kick people off. she can bring people on. I was like, anything can happen on the Bachelorette. Two questions. One, if you were to go on the Bachelor, what would your limo entrance be? Oh my God. I don't think I would not do anything wild. That's fair. That's fair. I wouldn't expect you to. I would think you'd come out and like be all class and not be like, I'll see you inside. It's nice to meet you. Yeah, a nice dress that does not have sequins on it. Then you wouldn't even be allowed to go. They'd be like, um, we like your dress, but
Starting point is 00:39:43 more sequence more sequence yeah i i'm going to live the sequin free life getting out of the limo i feel that actually that's way to stand out be different no sequence if you were the bachelorette would you let someone join in the middle of your season yes you can't rule anybody out if you're there to find your person you need to not rule anyone out especially if you feel something well what's interesting when you're the bachelor or the bachelorette is you live in this weird gray zone where you're allowed to have relationships with all these people at once. So why wouldn't you? Yeah, there's no line in the sand. There's no line. You don't have to make commitments to anybody. Right. You can date 19 guys at once. Yeah. And no like nobody can have their feelings heard about that. So yeah, I would let somebody new join. Especially if I was compelled by that person. Yeah, exactly. I don't know how much Katie is into that guy. I like didn't really buy it. Really? Yeah, I didn't really feel her, like, catch a vibe when he, like, showed up. Maybe she was just taking... I agree, actually. Watching it back, I was like, oh, is she that excited? I don't know. Seem that excited by it. So I was surprised she let him join.
Starting point is 00:40:58 I felt like she was almost like, oh, this guy wants me. I'm going to keep it. Like, when she, like, walked away from him, she's like, all right, see you in? And he's like, yeah. And she like, turned her little, like, she got all cocky. She, like, turned her head. She was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, like, I was. see you later and I kept walking. I think she's like, yeah, he's feeling me. That's funny. Yeah, I don't, TV, TV do what happens with that one. I always like going on the internet after and seeing like all the memes people do like for everything that happens during the show. One was definitely making fun of me wearing a Where's Waldo sweater when I was going in to have a girl chat with Katie and Tasha. I was wearing a red and white striped sweater. Like when I got dressed, I walked out, I'm like, everyone's going to be like, where's Waldo? where's Waldo? And I'm like, okay, huh? You're the only person that's so dumb. I'm trying to think
Starting point is 00:41:47 of what else went around on the internet. Definitely him saying he didn't have a carb in seven years. Definitely the other guy's saying who likes baloney. But oh, Justin's facial expressions. That's one that goes around and around and around is. Right, which one's Justin? Okay, Justin is always like doing the like wide eyes and like making facial expressions. Google Justin facial expressions, Bachelorette. And you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. There's so many that. Oh, yes. His eyes, yes.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Yes. He's so funny. Like, every, he doesn't even talk. I think he just does facial expressions. Well, I'm sure he talks in real life, but the producers just edit in his facial expressions only. Damn it. I should know this. I'm like, I'm like, that's so funny.
Starting point is 00:42:33 His timing is everything. Oh, they always seen him. You know better by now. Sometimes I like to. play dumb with like i i just don't let my brain go there because i like to like believe in the fantasy still of the bachelorette yeah it's so funny and then last was thomas coming up to get the rose i was so pumped because i knew she was not going to keep him so when he came up thinking his name was called and she steps back and she was like what i learned is that you're a liar so what we didn't
Starting point is 00:43:04 see was she actually threw the rose on the ground yes while he was walking out so when When we came out to say, like, I'm sorry if you didn't get a rose, like, say your goodbyes. I was trying not to laugh. I kept looking down because I just seen us, like, thrown rose on the ground. Yes, you threw it and sent him out the door. It was amazing. That's amazing. Well, I mean, collectively around the table last time, she said Thomas, we were like, oh, man.
Starting point is 00:43:27 And then we were like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Yeah. It was so funny. It was a really good fake out. It was a good fake out. And how she was like, your bachelor audition ends now. And then Paradise is like, and we are waiting in the wings. We all know that's where he's going.
Starting point is 00:43:46 A thousand percent. Yeah, that's amazing. Okay, well, thank you so much for joining me today. And I loved hearing more about love wellness because I think it's so important for everything you're doing and all you're doing, you're making people feel better, you know, and giving them the education behind it. So do you have a good confession for me before we go? Oh, confession. Yeah, they told me. Okay, I used to pee my pants all the time. When I was little in the first grade, I peed my pants at school and pretended it wasn't me.
Starting point is 00:44:23 How do you pretend peeing your pants isn't you? You're like pants or what? You're like, it wasn't me. It was that guy. Like, yeah, it wasn't me. That's so funny because I don't know why, but confessions have gotten, like when I first started doing them on my podcast, people like, oh my gosh, I don't. I can't. Like, what should I say? And I don't know why. It's not like you've been on the podcast before, like you're comfortable. But you're like, hey, I used to pee my pants when I was little. Everyone's like, the last person that was on my podcast, like, oh, yeah, I shit my pants like the other day. And I'm like, oh, God, it's so perfect.
Starting point is 00:44:53 I love how I feel like, you know what I'm telling myself is I just make people so comfortable by the end of it. They can tell me they pee their pants with no issues. 100%.
