Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story. Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge, there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice. And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am. It's not just any audiobook. This is a full cast performance. So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry, brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy. And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything. Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix. Talk about a dream cast. Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics, and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy. And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.

Starting point is 00:02:45 Podcast One presents Off the Vine, Great Therapy. Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your question, drink to your confessions, and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Caitlin. Welcome to Grape Therapy, where we will talk all things Bachelorette this episode. Today's guests are two of the funniest
Starting point is 00:03:08 ladies I know, which makes sense since they originally connected through working at Barstool Sports. They host their own podcast called Chicks in the Office, which I love. They're huge, huge Bachelor Nation fans, so it only made sense that I brought in the big guns to help me unpack this
Starting point is 00:03:24 week's episode of The Bachelorette. We all have our own opinions, our own fan favorites. I will say one thing. Ria, no one's really doing it for her. Fran might have a little obsession. It's okay. I hope you enjoy this episode that shocked us all, especially Bennett coming back at the end. Do we believe this love story is it produced? Obviously, spoilers to follow. So I hope you enjoy my recap with my friends, Ria and Fran. All right, it's that time again to ask yourself, do you own or rent your own home? I mean, I'm sure you do, and I bet it can be hard work. But you know what's easy is bundling policies with GEICO.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Geico makes it easy to bundle your homeowners or renters insurance along with your auto policy, which is a good thing too, because you already have so much to do around your home. So go to GEICO.com, get a quote, and see how much you could save. It's GEICO easy. Visit guyco.com today. That's GEICO.com. We all know I was so excited to get home, get in those sheets in my bed.
Starting point is 00:04:22 There was no feeling like it. And I've been loving my bed even more lately, if that's possible, because of my ball and branch sheets. They're the nicest, softest, most comfortable sheets I've ever had. I know that you all probably pride yourselves on having cozy beds because I just feel like it's an important part of your day. But you're missing out if you don't have Bull and Branch sheet sets. Bull and Branch was dreamt up by founders Scott and Missy.
Starting point is 00:04:45 They wanted to create something. They struggled to find themselves. So they created pure organic cotton sheets, three former presidents. three former presidents and million of Americans absolutely love. Their cotton is rain-fed, pesticide-free, carries the highest organic certification. They work with family males all over the world to create sheets with the highest level of craftsmanship. So I think it's safe to say we all have spent a little more time in bed this year than we
Starting point is 00:05:09 planned. So adding the perfect sheets makes all the difference. I really do love mine so much that I am giving them to a couple special people in my life for the holidays. They are $1,000 quality only for a fraction of the price. and you can sleep on them for a month risk-free. Right now you'll get $50 off any sheet set at bowl and branch.com
Starting point is 00:05:28 with promo code Vine, spelled B-O-L-L-L-andbranch.com promo code Vine for $50 off. Restrictions may apply, see bowlandbranch.com for details. Now back to Off the Vine Grape Therapy. First of all, how are you guys doing? And you're back together. You're not over Zoom for podcast any anymore. like are you just are you in quarantine together what's happening well we comes and goes yeah we
Starting point is 00:05:57 we record the um we always come in on tuesdays yeah for the bachelor and then the after show and then to record the podcast after that yeah so today's tuesday so fran and i just happen to be together because we're going to record together anyway but all the other days we record over zoom we only come in on tuesday to do that so wait what's going on with trent is he not the luggage guy anymore oh my gosh so they they wanted him to be but chris harrison told us that they did have a conversation like we should bring trent back but then it would be this whole thing that he would have to quarantine for to pull the luggage for one second and they were like that's not really worth it like that's just okay that yeah that's fair it's not like they didn't want him anymore yeah and the nicest way possible
Starting point is 00:06:43 chrisarison was like we love trying it and like hope he can do something in the future but like it would have been a big fat waste for like this for like the scene of him pulling the luggage for having to quarantine for two weeks and then also like having to probably quarantine on the tail end of that as well so um logistically probably didn't work out but he is I think always like they love him so much that I think you keep him in consideration for for such a funny role I love that he loves it so much and takes it very seriously, but because they are quarantine and everything, have you guys noticed in this
Starting point is 00:07:21 season? Like, have you, has it really been noticeable that they aren't traveling to all these exotic places that have you really noticed? Yeah. Oh, I mean, that, Caitlin, the dates are horrendous. Yeah, they're pretty bad. Always at the beginning.
Starting point is 00:07:37 They're, yes, but we're, we're like, we're almost at hometowns now. Like, this is, we're at the ends, like, we're, we got, like, we're, and ghosts like we're we got back it's tough it's tough they're not like you know on the beach grease that's true they're like in a backyard pool every time it's the same pool yeah yeah you're not getting the landscape views at the beginning yeah i know you're right you're right um i just always laugh when somebody comes in on like a scooter or something like
Starting point is 00:08:06 did you see jojo and her little helmet coming down on the scooter those are cute oh i love it i was like you know what it was so cute so cute like she just was like And, like, Chris Harrison, when they were doing the thing, like, a couple of weeks ago where he just, like, had to run around and, like, join them on every part of their date. Like, I was like, oh, this is a tough season for, you know, like, a show that really showcases all these exotic destinations and the romance of what goes on in these places. Like, you know, every season they go, Paris is the perfect place to fall in love. And they say that with every city that they're in. But now it's like, yeah, it's the perfect resort to fall in love. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:44 we have no other option. Right. And have you seen what Matt James's resort looks like compared to this one? It's like, it's not even close. That thing looked like an entire mansion. It looked like the mansion in the trailer. Yeah. And it's like he's on a golf resort.
Starting point is 00:09:03 And I think there's like a lot to do in that area. It's funny because Jason actually stayed at this resort that they're filming that at. I forget what it's called. But they were like, oh, we're actually. No, Jason looked into having a reservation or bringing other people in and they're like, well, we can't take reservations because we have a really big event happening here for like a few months. And Jason was like, oh, my God, what are they doing? Like, maybe they'll quarantine the whole NFL there. Like, what could possibly be going on? And I'm like, oh, shit, it's The Bachelor. So funny. Yeah, that's, I'm pumped for his season. Like, again, it's going to be tough because they don't travel. So I'm curious to see how they keep doing this. But I'm pumped for Matt James season. it just looks like they may have more activities at this resort more like outdoorsy things that they can do because unfortunately like in Palm Springs like they got the desert and they're like on a resort where it's like not necessarily a lot of land like I feel like it's it's the pool
Starting point is 00:10:02 the hot tub like and that's and their little their little houses like that's they can't they don't have anything else I think that's why we're seeing so much of Chris Harrison I mean we see him anyway. He's working overtime. He's really a major part this season and it has been noticeable that he's been gone. Listen, love Jojo. I'm so happy she's there. She's so adorable like you sell on the scooter. She's just like
Starting point is 00:10:23 I love the vibe between her and Tasha because you can tell obviously Tasha is comfortable with Chris Harrison but you can tell how comfortable she is with Jojo just being like it's up, girl. Like it just is more of a comfortable vibe but I will say you notice the lack of Chris Harrison
Starting point is 00:10:40 way more because he has been so present throughout the season and it's been great but you just you notice it more it's so true i was thinking because i just did an interview a couple hours ago where the guy was asking me like why it was so like people were so mean about tyra banks being the host of the show and how like that was like constantly the topic of conversation on the internet just losing their mind over it and i'm like that'd be like chris harrison leaving the bachelor and anyone trying to fill those shoes they're going to be like nobody's good enough like the presence of chris harrison is such a thing on that show.
Starting point is 00:11:13 He's like the face of the franchise where Tom and Aaron were that for Dancing with the Stars. So people don't like that change. So it's like we love this because we love Jojo and we know that it's temporary. We get to see her do this fun little thing, have this great like little friendship with Tasha
Starting point is 00:11:27 and but we know we're getting Chris Harrison back. Exactly. Exactly. No, you're very right. And we said that the whole time talking about Dancing Stars and Tyra and everybody kind of having their opinion about it. That's a hard shift. Like, it's going to take a while for people to get used to.
Starting point is 00:11:44 And Tyra, it's, like she said, live show, baby, she said a million times. Yeah. So there were definitely some mistakes towards the beginning, but, like, you got to let, you got to, I don't know, give it a chance. Yeah, you got to work out the kinks before. It can't just waltz in there and take over these people that have been there forever that people love and adore and expect it to just be like, okay, you know, I am. And it's, you know, same show. But yeah, I love that you guys all go to the office and watch The Bachelor every Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:12:15 And I love the, like, pictures. And your guys' tweets are always so funny. So what are we thinking about this season, especially tonight in general's episode? Do you feel, I've said this on my last great therapy where it's like they're having these deep conversations and really heavy stuff. Is this, do you think it's the group of men or do you think it's the show just trying to evolve and talk about more important things? I think it's a little bit of both. We've talked about this too on our past recaps that we are diving into more serious issues, which I think is a good thing because a lot of the times it's just fluff.
Starting point is 00:12:50 You know, we hear we'll talk about surface level stuff or you'll hear a story that kind of sounds like it's going to be a sob story of some sort, but it's almost like, all right, that wasn't that deep in previous seasons I'm talking about. Right. But this season, I have been so taken aback by some of the conversations that have happened. But in a good way, I'm like, oh, wow, this is really good. talking about this. We saw this in this episode with Ben. That was a really serious moment, but it's also something that, you know, so many people go through these things. And I think
Starting point is 00:13:18 watching on such a huge show and a huge platform like The Bachelor and Bachelorette, I think it's about time. You know, a lot of people have been getting fed up with the franchise, not really addressing serious issues, you know, kind of skating by, even though it's supposed to be like real life. So I think it's a mixture of both. I think the men are a little more grown up this season. They're a little older, they've experienced more. And I also think it's the show trying to show a different side, because I do think they are realizing that they need to kind of change with the times now. They need, they need to get on it. I agree. I feel like that people have been wanting that from the show for so long. And it's like, they didn't do it up until the point
Starting point is 00:14:02 where like, everyone's like, okay, you have to now. Like, if you don't, you're in the wrong. yeah absolutely and it and i like ria said i think it's a big time combination where it's like you have a great group of guys these guys are fantastic and i remember you know i think you had tweeted last week that like this group is rivals your season which is which i completely agree with like your season had some of the best guys and this season does this season really does too and it's like i i think they have that life and they have that experience that they are willing to share and we may have had guys like that on the show in the past where they were never given that opportunity to kind of lay out those stories or be that serious or didn't really
Starting point is 00:14:47 think that like the show would maybe support those kinds of conversation but now that now that you're seeing the show actually air them it's like okay maybe you know if maybe these were happening before maybe they weren't and they were just weren't showing them but now they're really now they're really showing them and and it's great and we see it with ben because like, I mean, we saw it with Zach, we've seen it with Ben, we've seen it with Riley, like, Brett, these guys have these very legit, very, um, important stories to, to share on television to, like, bring awareness to that the show's never touched on. So, like, we've done, Ivan, like, now we've had Black Black Hunter, we've had George Floyd,
Starting point is 00:15:28 we've done, uh, suicide, suicide awareness, eating disorder awareness, like, they're really, drug addiction, yep, forgot about, be there for a second. like it's it's it's they're really hitting on all on all cylinders here right and i also think that there is kind of the perfect mix of fun and sexual uh storylines as well because of course the group dates they're mixing some of that fun in there so i do i do think we're getting a mix and i also think you know i feel like some people have been like oh it's getting a little too serious or whatever it may be but i think with the nature of the world right now yes we do we we do want to watch a show that brings us something that's lighthearted and makes us laugh
Starting point is 00:16:09 and brings us joy right now. Of course, that's what we all want. But I also think that what has been happening in the world in the past year now has also opened up ourselves. It can't be ignored. It has also opened up ourselves to diving deeper into what's going on within ourselves. People are realizing that they're dealing with anxiety, depression, all these things. You know, past traumas are coming up that maybe they have never faced head on. But now since you have all this time, you're facing that head on. And I think it's just kind of changing with the way people are changing right now.
Starting point is 00:16:40 I think that's, you guys absolutely nailed it. That's bang on. And I think it's so important. And I agree. Like so many people are like, but this isn't why we watch The Bachelor and Bachelor. But like, you should because this is.
Starting point is 00:16:54 I just started holding my hand. I'm not one of those like, I went to move my hand and just happened to land right on top of her hands. So, yeah, okay, sure. It's a deep moment. We can hold hands, Fran. I just thought you guys were really, like, feeling the moment. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:09 We're not that deep. Yeah. Oh, man. Please continue. Yeah. I was just saying, like, I think it's, it is important because you're watching somebody get engaged. The complaint used to be, like, how are these people getting engaged after this? They barely even know each other.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Well, now we're getting to the, you know, the nitty-gritty of what has happened in our lives. And it's always been in line in Bachelor of, well, why are you the, why is Brendan, Brendan, Like what made you? So when you actually tell these stories, it's like things you need to know before you get engaged to someone. It's things that and to feel comfortable enough to open up and share these things. And I think these guys are really going to get a different sort of treatment than the usual typical bachelor like trolls or people that want to like say like they're probably getting a lot of stories like, wow, thank you for sharing that. I too have struggled with this. And because we usually see people on TV and hold them to like a different stage.
Starting point is 00:18:05 or put them on a pedestal where I think that's what's hard for people that come off the show is to come back down and like realize we're all humans and we all go through something and people have these expectations of you but at the end of the day we all go through the same hardship and especially through this year alone I think it's it's cool to watch a show like The Bachelor and see people having these kinds of real conversations to get to a point of like wow when they get engaged we're going to be like they really know each other which never happens exactly the complaint was always uh they're they're not taking this too they're not taking this seriously enough and yeah like they're careful it is yeah yeah like we're getting a good mix of like
Starting point is 00:18:46 hello these dudes are still like playing naked dodgeball and getting slipped up in like ridiculous dates where out literally everywhere where it's still you have the ridiculousness of the franchise is mixed with the very serious conversations. And I also do like that they're showing these guys full stories and full personalities because as a viewer, it's much easier, I mean, not Mitch, it's much harder to like treat these people like reality TV stars where you're like when we talk about the show literally as our job, like it's like you're you're, I don't know, sometimes people can be so so
Starting point is 00:19:30 uber critical of them on this show and that is where like a lot of that hate comes from online where it's like whoa like just just take it easy dude like yeah like this kind of remind like yeah like why are you like DMing this girl from The Bachelor like about how she acted on the show it's a show
Starting point is 00:19:48 so to see their real life it it's like oh these are real people we should probably treat them like real people yeah no I agree I think it like takes away that, like holding them to that Saturday, it takes that away and it makes you relate even more and realize that they are human beings on the other end of that, not just like a silly character on the show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:12 All right. We're going to take a quick break to think about how many times we brush our teeth in our lifetime. Now you probably do it without even thinking at this point. But what if I told you? I recently just switched up my brushing routine and you can too. Yes. I'm talking about my new brouche, and stay tuned because you guys can get a pretty sweet deal on these with my promo code Vine.
Starting point is 00:20:32 So let me introduce you to my favorite electric toothbrush bruce, and that's spelled with two U's, B-R-U-S-H. I have the Pink Coin, Jason, has the black one. We love it. Keep it in our bathroom, on the counter. It looks super chic. It's just so sleek. It leaves our teeth with a fresh from the dentist feeling without actually spending a day of the dentist. So with six cleaning modes and a four-week battery life, this brush,
Starting point is 00:20:55 or Bruch, can come with you on the go and keep up. Bruch makes a great gift for the holidays, too. Starting point is 00:21:24 I'm going to ask you a question. and that is do you really know what's in your multivitamin? I have taken multivitamins for actually as long as I can remember because I've always known it's important to take care of your body, the best that you can, literally at any age. But what I didn't know were the ingredients that were going into my body before I started taking ritual, which is kind of scary if you think about it. With ritual, I don't ever have to worry.
Starting point is 00:21:46 They are clean, vegan friendly, and made with key nutrients your body actually can use. Nothing shady about that. I know this might be gross to hear, but other vitamins kind of have animal products in them, like gelatin from hooves, animal hide. Thinking about ingesting, that kind of makes me a little sick, and I'm sure it makes you feel the same. Ritual is formulated with key nutrients, including vitamin D3 to help fill gaps in your diet. Their fresh tasting, delayed release capsules are designed to dissolve later in less sensitive areas of your stomach so you can have them with or without food, which is so helpful
Starting point is 00:22:18 when you're on your way out the door to get some food and you realize you haven't taken your vitamins. Ritual has vitamins to target men, women, teenage bodies to support everyone where they need it most. I'm always actually on my dad for taking care of himself, so I'm sending him ritual vitamins for the holidays, and he better take them because I'll be checking in. You deserve to know what's in your multivitamin. That's why Ritual is offering my listeners 10% off during your first three months. Visit ritual.com slash vine to start your ritual today. This is Austin Vine, Grape Therapy.
Starting point is 00:22:50 But let's jump to Bennett. Because, let's talk about Bennett and Noah. Yeah, because I'm like, there's the ridiculousness that we want to see. But do you take Tasia, I cannot tell if she really is into him or if this is like we're keeping him around because he's good TV. I really can't tell. I don't know. I was torn at the beginning with that because I thought, like, I think she does actually
Starting point is 00:23:17 like him kind of after that group date when he had gotten the rose and like, or with a grown-ass man. competition, whatever, and I was like, okay, maybe there's, maybe there's something there. But the way she looked at the two of them in that conversation and the way that she had kind of spoke about how Bennett was made me think like, okay, this guy didn't really have a chance and they have so many good guys this season that it's like, where's the drama going to come from? because it's almost like they're all too good and they're not fighting with each other.
Starting point is 00:23:53 So like, where's the feud? So this feud just from the beginning has felt a little too manufactured for me where like this Bennett thing is staying because everything else is so serious. All these other conversations she's having are so serious and Bennett is the only one that is like the comedic relief.
Starting point is 00:24:12 Yeah, so when he's coming back and all that, it's like, oh, okay, like clearly he was allowed to do this. Like clearly there's still. trying to stir the pot in some way. Yeah. But do you really think he loves her and that she's like, thinking about this? I hope not.
Starting point is 00:24:27 I'm afraid. I honestly am afraid at this point. I'll say we met Bennett, and he actually seemed like a really nice guy. But sociopath seems like nice guys on the outside. That's why they're sociopaths. Like I still, and you know what, Bennett, I'm sorry for listening to this and you're still like, you're maybe you're not, but I'm getting crazy. vibes from Bennett. Like, even if, because I always like to remind myself that producers, it's the slow speaking for me, too. It's the, it's the creepy smile while saying something.
Starting point is 00:24:59 It's just like a little too much for me. And I, I like to remind myself that producers obviously do have a say in something like this. You know, Bennett, he's being sent home. He doesn't think he can come back. Of course, he doesn't think that. I don't think anybody thinks they can come back. But if a producer gets in your ear and says, hey, you want to, you want to show up on Tisha's doorstep, of course, he's going to do it. Or if he asked, somebody has to say yes. Or if he asked, but I don't think he would ask. I truthfully, unless he truly,
Starting point is 00:25:25 then that's what I'm saying. That's why I'm a little freaked out. But if he loves Tasha, it'd be wild, because they have not spent any time together. And I think it was odd that Tasia said that she did have feelings for Bennett, even though, like, I'm finding this all a bit weird. I'm like, where is the connection between Tasia and Bennett?
Starting point is 00:25:46 I'm not seeing it. She had said to Noah after she, gave Noah the rose and sent Bennett on his way. She said to him, you know, oh, this is not a victory moment. She didn't even give him the rose. Oh, no, not given the rose. Yeah. She didn't give him the rose, but he ended up getting a rose in the end. Yeah, he was in time out. Yeah, like, she was, you got like teacher mode on him, which I appreciate, but she said, this is not a victory for you. Yeah. I had feelings for Bennett. And I gasped. I was like, you had feelings for Bennett. I can't believe this. And as for
Starting point is 00:26:17 the Noah and Bennett situation, the fighting, I think this is why I am excited for Mack James season, because with girls, you don't need to fake the caddiness. That's going to come out no matter what. They're going to fight with each other over Matt James, for sure. I think it's a little harder
Starting point is 00:26:33 with guys. I think a girl has that idea of like that petty gift more than a Bennett probably did. Bennett probably did. And unless he is keeping a book on emotional intelligence like on his being at all times he was also helped in some way with putting together that gift but he does seem very into emotional intelligence so maybe
Starting point is 00:26:58 he does carry that around with him i heard he brought it somebody said about it on a different podcast he said that he is the one who brought that book well then there you have it because i mean the way he talked about emotional intelligence and then said it again with tasha it was like oh this is like you really he studied this yeah yeah yeah yeah Like, you can tell this is something, I think he wanted to go into the show, like, to really speak on emotional intelligence. Like, he wants that to be a shtick. Like, he's, that's, that's, like, what he wanted to do going in there.
Starting point is 00:27:28 So you know he read that book, studied it, and then wanted to study the other guys and their emotional intelligence and, like, be able to speak on that. Yeah, and I just don't like how he keeps, well, he just says the same things over and over again, right? Where I'm like, the way he's explained to Tasha, like, I think that, Noah. He's like, there are four categories. And Noah is deficient in three out of those four. Like he's diagnosing him. Yes. And it's like, okay, stop. Please stop. Also, when he said, there was a line that stood out to me when he said that he could never see Noah being the husband, Tatia, or the father of Tasha's children. I thought to myself, I could never imagine Bennett being,
Starting point is 00:28:14 the husband to Tasha, the father of her children. The way he speaks in such a condescending tone, that's not how you speak to your children. They're not going to want to learn from you then. They're going to say, dad, you're a fucking dickhead. I don't like you who you're speaking to me. That's right. He said that too.
Starting point is 00:28:30 He was like, I will teach my children emotional intelligence, which I think is the most important thing. And I'm like, do you not realize you don't have it? Like, you don't get it. And the way you're speaking to people shows that you clearly don't get it. That's very interesting. they're going to be fucking losers
Starting point is 00:28:46 if that's how you speak. He like kind of speaks to void of emotion, of emotion. Right. Like, where's your emotion?
Starting point is 00:28:55 Like he speaks, even when he was telling Tasha that he loves her now, like it was like, it felt like he was just reading a script in his head or something. Like it didn't, the emotion just isn't there.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Like it was something he thought he should feel and should say to get him back in there, but like there was no feeling behind it. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I think. Are you guys as big fans as Brendan as I am? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Who's your guy? Oh, Zaxi. Well, Fran is like obsessed with Zaxi. I've been obsessed with Zaxi since day one. Even when it was Claire and the lead, like, Zach C was my favorite. And it's, I'm so glad I'm day one Zaxier. I don't have a guy this season yet. Really?
Starting point is 00:29:40 You know, I don't have one that I'm like totally all in on. I feel like I usually one person that I'm all in on. I feel like you really liked Ivan. I really like, well, I can name a few. That's what I'm saying. Like I like, I like a few, but none are like winning the race.
Starting point is 00:29:54 I really like Ivan. I think he's a really, really nice guy. Like I'm like so in on Ivan. Yeah. I'm just afraid that Tasha's going to break his heart because I feel like maybe a little too nice for her or is like playing a little too nice.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Although I think he is such a sweetheart. Like I'm really a big fan of Ivan. I like Ben. I think that, you know, I think Ben has gone through a lot. And I think we're going to start to see that a little bit more. He's opened up on this episode.
Starting point is 00:30:20 And I really, I've always liked Ben, but this episode, I even, you know, my heart opened up even more for him. Yeah. You know, I cried watching that his heart with Asia. It was just so emotional. I'm going to start tearing up right now and talking about it. I'm not going to lie. I like that a lot. And I do like Zach C.
Starting point is 00:30:38 I'm just not as into, like my, my, my, like, my life to say it's because I love him so much that she's, oh, like, in her mind, she's like, God, like, Fran, calm down. Like, I can't let, I think you can have him. I don't want to, like, step on Fran's toes, you know what I mean? Like, you like Zach C, you can have him. I like him, though. Like, not as much as Fran does, but I do like Zaxi. So I would say those three, for me, are the ones sticking out. Do like Brendan. I think he's adorable, but I don't think I like him as much as everybody
Starting point is 00:31:08 else does. Yeah. Is there anyone else for you, Fran, besides Zaxi, or is it, like, that's the one. Look, I, I, I, and she wops him. Yeah. I have, look. Look, I, I really like a lot of these guys. Like, we have said it before.
Starting point is 00:31:21 It's a great, great group. Now down to, like, the end here where, you know, there's a handful of guys left. They're all, there's none of them that I'm like, why is this guy still here? The only one that is like, Blake Moynes. I'm like, I don't. Oh, yeah. Like, Moines, unsure why you're still here. Yeah, but he's gone now.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Oh, true. Yeah. You know, like, yeah. So, out of this. like seven, it's like, okay, Blake was the only one that I was like, I don't really, I don't really see that. But the rest of them, I can really all see Tasha building a connection with. My, yes, Zach C is just my. What is it about Zach C for you? Enlighten us. Okay. I just think that he is very cute. I think that he has been through a lot.
Starting point is 00:32:08 And I think he's come out on the other side. I like that he has like this family dynamic, like, you know he was posting pictures of his of his sister nominating him and sending him in for the show and he's also from south jersey and he's a massive eagles fan so we like i love him because of that he grew up in the same hometown as my dad which i've talked about no less than 300 times we get it we get it so i'm just like the amount of times i've heard that fran's dad grew up in the same town as Zaxi. It's incredible. My dad's whole family still lives there.
Starting point is 00:32:45 She knows somebody that knows that knows Zaxi. You know how it goes. It's a common ground thing. There's a connection there. And you usually, that's, you know, you usually pull for those people. Like, it makes him more like a real person to me.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Yes. And you would think I would pull for Blake because he's Canadian. But I'm just like, we don't know Blake enough. I don't feel like. Like, he was really shining in the first couple episodes there with Claire. And now you're like, wait, oh, he's still here.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Still here. And guys keep joking about how all he talks about is sex. Like, we don't know anything else about him. I'm hoping to get more from him in like one-on-one time with Tisha, but he's, I would put like all my winnings on him not making it to hometowns. Wait, does he get a one-on-one date next week, right? Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Okay, yeah, that will be interesting. Yeah, I think this is, yeah, put my bank account on it. Yeah, like I think this is what Natasha may not give him the rose at the end. end of the date. Yeah, well, I don't know. You mean, sometimes they shock us with these ones. Well, if Blake makes it to hometowns, then I, you know what, I don't know this show as well as I thought I did. And I also what I said, you could not have my savings. Yeah, exactly, because you never know. I mean, let's see, between there's seven guys left, we know, like, Zach C, Ben, Ben has a row, so he's going. So then there's only like three more spots, right? For
Starting point is 00:34:10 For sure, Zach C is going to go because he's made it very clear that his parents are, like, his heroes. They saved him. It'll be a nice story. And I feel like they see, like, and I think Tasha, well, Tachia said she's falling in love with him. Yeah. And didn't you, I literally squealed like a pig. When she said that, like, I was, I just was so excited. I, because you don't ever, you sometimes don't see The Bachelor of the Bachelor, I give it back.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Like, when you do, it's like you feel like the rules are being broken and you've seen something secret. And so when she actually said it to him, I was like, oh, she said it. Yeah, I did too. I preached out a little bit too because I want her to like him that much. And so when she said that, I was like, oh, okay, she does. Okay, this is good. And I thought that was so cute, the cheating story when he's like, it was at the ball around. How about those sneaky producers, right? We said this last week, we were like, when they showed the trailer for this episode and it was like, Zach C's saying he was a cheater and Tasha being like cheating is non to go like no no blow and they made it seem like they had this fight almost like they showed Tasha walking away it seemed like this could have been
Starting point is 00:35:20 the end of Zach C but but I think it was because he was such a front runner that they were like we got to like we got to throw something away here we got right yeah like we got to we got to send them for a different trip. Ria's raising her head I think that's lying like I like Zach C but I think he's lying like I don't think that was his one cheating story whatsoever. I'm going to call fucking bullshit on that, to be honest, because there is no way if you are taking a lie detector test and you're asked, and you're asked if you ever cheat on somebody, you do not say yes if it was in second grade or sixth grade, whatever it was. I don't think you say yes that. But maybe the green light was going to go on. Yeah. This is a thing.
Starting point is 00:36:00 If I was asked, sixth grade, if I was asked, I guess it's a little different. If I was asked, Like, hooked up to a lie detector test, and I'm so nervous, and it's like, have you ever cheated? Like, I, normally, like, if I was asked that in a normal conversation, I'd probably say no. Yeah. But on a lie detector test, I'd be like, yes? You're like, did I? Did this count? It was like, high school, it like, didn't really matter.
Starting point is 00:36:23 But, like, high school, I think counts. I think high school counts. But I think it's, after middle school, then you start cheating. Well, you know what, Zach C wanted to make sure that the truth came out. And so he was as honest as he could be. and it was sixth grade. And I was hooked up to a lie detector. My answer would be no,
Starting point is 00:36:40 because I never even cheated anybody on anybody in sixth grade. They cheated on me all the time. Well, aren't you such a better person. You have a little. Constantly. Oh, my God, that's so sad. But I love that. You've always stayed true to you.
Starting point is 00:36:52 You've never cheated. But do you really think that lie detector test was legit? Or was they're just a producer backstage going, Bing for the green light. And, like, come on. Because to do that, you have to have, like, the main guy in the room that's a professional at doing that, don't you? And like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:11 I don't think Jojo is well versed in reading everybody's bass lines. Right. Like, there are so many things where I'm like, I don't think this is even real. And they all took it so serious. Like, is she falling in love with more than two people? And it like dings and they're like, oh. And that's like, that's so funny watching the guys do that or like, do you think, do you regret sending anyone home?
Starting point is 00:37:31 No. And then it goes red. And they're like, who's Bennett? It must have been it. Which set us up for the ending. The family questions, too, where it's like, are you ready to meet Tachia's family? And they're like, maybe I, like, yes.
Starting point is 00:37:42 Well, I don't like it. A whole lie detector test, like, makes everybody nervous. Like, I don't know anymore. Yeah, it definitely does. I don't, I think that it's got to be fake because have you ever seen the famous lie detector test guy that does all the YouTube videos with celebrities? Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:59 I think he's been on James Corden or whatever it is. I heard that he is told. what's it they you know if a youtube or whatever tells him hey you got to say lie or whatever for this question he'll do it so i feel like i mean think about the bachelorette they're definitely doing that that's what i thought too i was like oh my gosh i would have just like i feel like i would have known that in the moment i say that now but i feel like i would have been like like for example when i went on a date for um the escape room i had to like go through birds and like all the scary stuff and at the end, there was snakes, like huge, huge snakes in the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:38:38 And I'm like, surely they wouldn't put us with, like, poisonous snakes that are going to kill us. Like, they're trained. So, like, I could think logically in that moment where I feel like, with the lie detector test, I'd be like, well, I'm just going to say whatever, like, because they're going to put whatever light on that they want to for TV purposes. That's what it seems like. And I think those kinds of tests are notoriously not super accurate. in the first place. Like, you could Riley, like, put on full, you know, lawyer hat for a second and was like, like, like, he was like, these aren't even like that. He's like, these aren't really that accurate to begin with, you know. From the, from the beginning, Riley, I think was very skeptical about the whole thing. He's like, oh, these, I'm, what did he say? He's like, well, I don't ever advise my clients to take these because they're like, faulty. Like, it was like, right. That was a really good setup. But I was like, oh, touche. Touch. We'll get back to the podcast in a moment. Everyone knows I had a blast with Dancing with the Star

Starting point is 00:41:35 making the sandwich. Okay. Her name was Elena Karp and we had so much fun doing it. Plus, I really do think it upped our sandwich skills. So explore your creativity at Skillshare.com slash vine and get a free trial of premium membership. That's skillshare.com slash vine. You're listening to Off the Vine Race Therapy. Okay. I've got one game for us before. we leave and it's called rhea and franz crystal ball okay so but i think we all have some psychic manifesting powers here so i want to know what you think is going to happen down the road to the specific so i'll read you a question you have to predict the future of the franchise okay
Starting point is 00:42:15 okay who has the most entertaining family for hometowns next week zaxi i'm going to go zaxi as well just because i feel like he started crying about his parents this episode so i think it could be very emotional also like how are they doing hometowns like are the families going to the resort like they can't probably are towns right they probably have to quarantine do all that same thing they had to do and get tested and then do it that's crazy oh my gosh but i feel like zach see talks about his family so much and everything that they've been through that they they would be fun. Okay, that's fair. And who, because I think we see that Tasha's dad gets skeptical. So which
Starting point is 00:43:05 guy is Tasha's parents most skeptical about? Zaxie. You know what? I'm actually, well, this is a thing I don't, we don't fully know who's all going to be there. Well, you're the crystal ball folder. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, I'm going to go with, I'm going to go with Brendan. Oh, more from the, and I know Zaxi was married as well but more from like is he ready to get married again okay that's fair do you think there's going to be a mom like
Starting point is 00:43:37 Barb that we haven't met this season Zach's not I was a shooting star I think yeah I think she was and I think in the moment we were like oh my God get Barb off the stage but Barb was a blessing barb was a true blessing
Starting point is 00:43:55 to the entertainment of the show especially that season she really was she was what the what the show needed yeah i don't i don't see any of these moms causing too much of a ruckus because i feel like the star is going to be tachia's dad yeah okay that's fair i love tach's dad i can't wait for him um which of tachia's i found the question which of tachia's remaining men will end up making the cringiest tic talks ben because it's already happening yeah really well he's got all these listen Workout TikToks, which some find, yes, very sexy. Workout TikTok, some find them sexy, some find them cringeworthy.
Starting point is 00:44:34 So I think that he would fall under that category, given that some people will find them cringeworthy. Okay, that's fair. I'm going to throw Blake Moyens in there as well. I don't know if Blake is even on TikTok, but if he decides to join TikTok, I don't know where that would go. So they'd be cringy, like Connor cringy. Do you find Connor cringy on TikTok?
Starting point is 00:44:54 Yes. Yeah. Yeah, me too. nice guy i'm sure he's just the loveliest little human they're all sweet it's like and you know it's like these ticot chasin's ticot's have been got awful so it's like yeah yeah i've also made fun of connor enough times to say that yeah i've said worse things about connor so true okay uh and last one which of the guys remaining are going to be sliding into previous contestants dms Hmm, which is the guy's remaining?
Starting point is 00:45:23 All of them? Yeah. All of them besides the winner? Yeah, but all of them besides the one who wins. I actually am going to go with, I'm going to pick someone. I think, I think maybe Riley. Ooh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:38 He seems like a lady's man. He does a little bit, and I think, I don't think he's going to be the one at the end for Tasia, but I do think that he, like, I don't know if he would necessarily end up going on more Bachelor shows. Right. So I feel like he could definitely be in like somebody's DMs. That's true. And then and then someone, someone else.
Starting point is 00:46:02 And then last one, who do you think Tasha gets engaged to? I think it's Zach. Really? Zaxie. Because they're really. I think it was going to be Zach or Ben. What's sexy, Vaxie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:15 I just think that they're showing a lot. Like he's getting really emotional. she's getting emotional about him like i just don't see the connection as strong for right the other people as much as she wants to say that she has it with other people i think it's strong falling in love with especially after tonight's episode i feel like she doesn't have to any other other guys and um you know she has been so open with wanting these guys to to like trust her instincts and her integrity and all these things so i feel like she kind of has an idea of who, you know, she obviously wants at the end at this point, even though she has said, is
Starting point is 00:46:54 saying, you know, she's falling for a lot of these guys. And I wouldn't be surprised if she says she fell in love with like three of these guys because she, she has great guys. But I don't know, Zach C's definitely definitely jumped to the top. Oh, I want to mention to you because I find this to be very interesting. And I feel like it's not talked about because he just fell into the darkness. But, like, so historically, the first impression rose is so important. Yeah. Gave hers to Spencer, we never saw Spencer again. That was it.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Bye, Spencer. He was such a big part of this one episode. I was like, oh, he's top four for sure, no question. Then he was just gone. Gone. Gone. Like, no airtime. No strong time.
Starting point is 00:47:34 Yeah. He saw him talk, like, that he'd be, like, sad if he was sent home at the rose ceremony. And that was it. He was sent home, and it was like, bye, first impression rose. He got the first impression rose. Yeah, that was. was wild usually they're very because women's intuition i always said is always so bang on that usually the the first impression goes sticks around until the end if not is the person so that's a good point
Starting point is 00:47:56 that's very interesting that was very interesting to me i was like damn he's that was it for him we all know we all know who friends rose goes to but uh tell us when you guys recap your bachelor episodes and where they can find it um we have a live after show right after the Bachelorette, and it's going to be after the bachelor on our Twitter, which is Chicks in the Off, because we couldn't get Chicks in the Office on Twitter too long. But if you go to the Chicks in the Office, YouTube, you can watch it live after. We usually go on at about 10.05 Eastern time, and then it usually goes to like 1035, 1045, sometimes 1055. We push it. But you can watch those on YouTube any time after Tuesday night.
Starting point is 00:48:38 They're there. You can go watch it there. And then our podcast recaps come out on Wednesday morning as well. Perfect. Oh, that's so fun. I'm going to tune in for the live YouTube video. That's fun. Do it. And then comment because I read comments. Okay. I'll do it. I'll comment.
