Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's talk about the original enemies to lovers story. Before all of our reality TV couples, before the rom-coms, we binge, there was Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy in pride and prejudice. And Audible has just dropped a brand new original that will have you completely hooked, I am. It's not just any audiobook. This is a full cast performance. So Marisa Abella, you might know her from industry, brings Elizabeth Bennett to life.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And Harris Dickinson from Baby Girl and Where the Crawdads sing is Mr. Darcy. And honestly, the chemistry, you guys, it's everything. Plus, you've got icons like Glenn Close, Bill Nye and Will Polter in the mix. Talk about a dream cast. Now, what I love is how Marissa pulls you right into Lizzie's world, her stubbornness, her wit, her messy family dynamics, and of course, her complicated feelings for Darcy. And with a vibrant new adaptation and original score by Grammy-nominated composer, it just feels so fresh and modern while still keeping that timeless Jane Austen charm.
Starting point is 00:00:58 So whether it's your first time experiencing Pride and Prejudice or you've read it a million times, you're going to fall absolutely in love all over again. So go listen to Pride and Prejudice now at audible.ca slash Jane Austen. We're on with OTV. Podcast One presents Off the Vine, Grace Therapy. Caitlin Bristow's going to answer your questions. Drink to your confessions and hear what you have to say about anything Bachelor. Let's shake it up some more. Here's Caitlin.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Welcome to Grape Therapy. I'm your host, Caitlin Bristow. In the bed with me is Cleo Deliabe. And I believe that I'm going to be the host tonight. Actually, you know what? Tables have turned, my friend. Yes. So would you like to do the introduction?
Starting point is 00:01:42 Yes. This is Clio de la Jave. Uh, good thing. I'm not the host of Off the Vine. You say, welcome to grape therapy. Your session is now starting. Welcome to grape therapy. Your session is now starting.
Starting point is 00:01:56 I'm scared. Doom do, do you ready? Are you ready for me to interview you? I have never been more ready because I'm going to tell you something. I am tired. Me too. It's been a long day. It's been a long 38 days.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Did you know I've slept one night in my own bed in 36 days? Yeah, that's crazy. And then before that it was maybe two in like another 36 days. But you know what? I like to say you will sleep on your dead and it is time to live life and adventure. with the best of them and we're going to go down by the river the river okay I'm back in the zone but it's been a long I've really been going at it since the holidays well and before that too oh yeah it's going on three years now I was going to say it's been about five years it's been
Starting point is 00:02:52 83 years well we went to Iceland which was awesome and then you got a little bit of a break but then the holidays is always such a crazy time. And I was like, I don't even know where I've been, to be honest with you. But from there, I had one night at home and then we went, where did I go? I can't even remember. I can't even remember either. Dallas, Dallas for the night one of the premiere of The Bachelor, which was so much fun. Yeah, it was awesome.
Starting point is 00:03:19 And everyone was like, oh, can you podcast with Jojo? And we tried, but our schedules are both crazy. But I did a podcast with Raven, which will come out, I think, on Tuesday. I will be tuning in I drank a lot of tequila So I hear Yeah So I hear
Starting point is 00:03:33 You literally heard it I showed you And we're like Ooh yeah It'll be a good one But then we went to Denver Anyways we have to start With the story
Starting point is 00:03:41 Because I'm still gonna laugh Like I'm still laughing Thinking about it We're Well we just landed in We landed in L.A Yeah we landed in L.A And now we're in Santa Barbara
Starting point is 00:03:51 And just for people wondering That was not Justin Bieber Oh On my flight Okay I did an Instagram story and it looked like the bebes. But if it was the bebs, I wouldn't have disrupted his privacy
Starting point is 00:04:04 like that only to a stranger. For sure. Yeah. If it was Bebs, I'd let him be. And then we landed in. Let him. Imagine it was. I still could have been. But I mean, we were, I'm flying from Vail to L.A. and it just, I feel like nobody acknowledged him.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I was so oblivious. I was just in the right behind him and I'm like, and he showed me afterwards and it's like, wait, that kind of looks like him. And then I took a Instagram story and I was like, is it too late now to say sorry? Oh. Anyways. We are Canadian.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Yeah. So we can. We would say sorry. Yeah. And Justin Bieber is Canadian. Anyways, we landed in L.A. We had a very long drive. Well, we were rookies.
Starting point is 00:04:44 We flew in right at 4.15. Just in time for some traffic in L.A. Took us three hours to get to Santa Barbara. Three and a half hours. But we are here. We're at the hotel, California. And it has been amazing. It looks like we're, I feel like we're back in Italy.
Starting point is 00:04:59 It's incredible. It's beautiful. Bert and Ernie back, except I'm like, why are we sharing a bed? Bird and Ernie do not share beds. Yeah, why is there a queen's size bed? I'm like, I want, I want her singles. Keep your space, okay. Here's your space tonight.
Starting point is 00:05:14 I think I already did like five minutes ago. I know. Take it. I think you are joking, but I'm not sure. So we landed, we got here, and we were dying laughing because on our way here, um we were just kind of like in a mood i think and yeah you know we were just like overtired we traveled all day and so shout out to our driver because he was such a beauty but yeah um we got a little bit car sick at one point it was raining and whatever anyways and so we're
Starting point is 00:05:46 texting each other in the back seat and i was like oh i'm getting a little car sick and you're like yeah we do blah blah blah and we're going back and forth i'm like laughing now we're laughing in the back seat and then we pull up and you know when when you're in forgive me world for saying this term but when you're an influencer i love it yeah people treat you like you're like i'm like i'm just katelyn like it's not a big deal i just somehow have a lot of followers and we pull up and the guy goes clio's been in the car the whole time i was actually the one talking to him though i was doing all the talking they bonded and then we pull up in the drive ever goes, Caitlin, I would just like to thank you so much for being here with us today,
Starting point is 00:06:32 and I hope you really enjoy your stay. And all of a sudden my phone goes, ding! And I look and clearly text me, and she goes, well, my fucking chop liver. And a guy did not even acknowledge her. The fact that she's in the car the whole time. He just goes, Caitlin, we just really want to say thank you. And, you know, they're being very sweet. Of course.
Starting point is 00:06:52 But I was just, we both are laughing so hard because, like, cool. thanks yeah great three and a half hour trip Greg I don't know his name um but it was so funny and then we get out and we're still laughing we're getting our luggage but we're trying not to seem rude because really we're just overtired and giggly and then we get in the hotel and we're still laughing yeah don't stop and we get to our room they're like hey your reservation for dinner is at eight and then we get to dinner and it is the cutest place it's what's it called blackbird blackbird it's At the hotel, like the hotel, California.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Incredible. What I liked about it, it seemed like it should be a really big restaurant, but it's not. It's like so quaint and almost feels like it should be a whiskey bar or something. Yeah, it was just so quaint and cute and, like, stylish and just felt like it was sexy. It felt like Italy. Yeah. The food was incredible. Anyways, our servers, everybody, you know, it's California.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Like, if you're in the outskirts, California, everybody's like kind of server vibes, which we love. And our server's amazing. He's so cute. so funny and he's young and like so polite and he's high-fiving us and he he he people tonight really thought we were sisters okay so two people tonight two people two people crazy oh yeah oh no two people thought we were sisters and we're like oh okay cool is it because we were in the same shoes probably same shoes same hair do and both really tired yeah so I get it but the server you know he's very um surfer vibes and he had this long hair and he goes well
Starting point is 00:08:26 I feel like your brother. And then I was like, I love this guy. And so we all high-fived. We decided we were family. And the night just started off on a great foot. So we ordered all this food. And then we had this other server that kept coming by and kept coming by. He's this really cute, like young, young, cutest little.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Most beautiful smile. According to Cleo. Yeah. And dreamy. I was like, oh my gosh, Cleo, you and him? Like, he's like flirting with you. Oh, yeah. He 100% was.
Starting point is 00:08:55 And Cleo was like, I know. And Cleo goes, remember when I felt like chopped liver? She goes, yeah, stay humble, Caitlin. This is what it feels like. Stay humble, okay? It's my, it's my turn to, it's my time to shine. And Cleo's, you know, getting a little cocky. He's like 20 years old.
Starting point is 00:09:12 He was 21. 21. Just turned 21 in November. I'm like, I'll take it. And I was like, oh my gosh, every time he came over. This was the whole night. He would not make eye contact with me. He was only looking at Cleo.
Starting point is 00:09:22 He kept talking to her. He's telling her about these hikes. And he's like, oh. And he comes back, he'd be like, wait, I meant to tell you about more hikes. And he just wanted to talk to Cleo. And I'm like, that's fine. I get it. Can't always be the shining star, Caitlin.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Fine. Fine, Cleo. You can have this one, you know? You're too good to me. Tit for tat. I got the driver. You can have the server. And so he keeps, and anyways, and then he's like, eventually by the end of dinner, he goes, so what do you guys do?
Starting point is 00:09:53 Which might be my least favorite question, but whatever, I'll let it slide. he was trying to just keep conversation going yeah which he was so terrible because he was so shy yeah uh and cleo goes oh you know i'm i'm katelyn's manager and and she's an influencer and i went oh yeah because i hate that word and clear was just telling him a couple things and then he goes oh what really and then we're like yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and then he walks away and he brings us back dessert and then we're like paying the bill and he comes up and cleo's thinking oh this guy's probably going to ask for my digits or something here we go yeah here we go Cleo's going to get hit on and he comes up and he goes sorry what's your name to me and I'm like Caitlin he goes it is so nice to
Starting point is 00:10:36 meet you and he shakes my hand and Cleo's sitting there with the biggest smile on her face being like and I'm and he just walks away I just walked away and he didn't even ask your name but you got to be kidding He literally was like, what's your name? I'm like, Caitlin, he goes, it's great to meet you. And Moxley and Cleo's like got her hand out to be like, and I'm Cleo Delia Lovett.
Starting point is 00:11:02 In my mind, I'm like totally trying to justify it. And I'm like, oh, you know, I totally get it. He's just, he likes me so much. He's just so shy. Yeah, saving the best for last. You're like, wait, Julie, here's my last name. And it was really funny because two minutes before I had text my. Two minutes.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Two minutes. Before, I had texted my boyfriend. And I was like, oh, I'm like, Dave. I was like, it's so cute. there's a server and he totally has a crush on me and then i totally got burned he did cleo text appointment being like baby no like this 21 and you're like you were like i still got it trying to make him jealous yeah oh man it didn't work but anyways maybe you had to be there so we were telling um i don't know if you've heard of him but his name's jason tardick
Starting point is 00:11:49 but we were telling jason the story and jason's laughing so hard like he was like ha that's hilarious and you know he's very like animated and he's laughing and then I was like anyways it was so funny he goes yeah maybe you had to be there I'm like what you were laughing you just made me feel like you were here because you were giving me all of the laughs anyways so I think from following me on social media you guys can see I've been traveling nonstop since before the holidays actually with plans constantly changing always needed a place to stay last second without wanting to break the bank here's a little inside traveler secret little life hack from my friends at hotel tonight there are tons of

Starting point is 00:13:29 Well, it really is because I got to meet Jason. Yeah, you did. And you know what? He is a beauty. Isn't he? A rare. I love positivity. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:40 I love happiness. His energy is electric. That's what I say. Oh, I know. I totally stole that. I should have you have it. No. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:13:48 So his energy is just electric. I know. knew it you're good yeah no but he's just like it's just so refreshing meeting people that just have such a magnetic um electric personality and that are just like so positive and smiley and they make you feel included and i could say anything and i didn't feel like an idiot which is nice that's that's the kind of vibe i get from him is that um you just kind of feel like you've known him for a long time Absolutely. And I don't know if people, I don't know that if people who follow him or know him or watch him on the show, but I don't know if they felt that same way. But that's just the vibe I got from him from the get-go. When I was watching him on Becca season, I genuinely felt like I want him to be The Bachelor. That's just the vibe I book. I just root. I was rooting for him. Well, when we were in Florida, I remember because I didn't watch Becca season. And I was like, you know what? I think I'm going to give, I'm going to watch the next Bachelor show, given a.
Starting point is 00:14:53 another try and like who do you think it should be yeah and you were telling me about the contestants you're like it should totally be jason like he seems like a genuine good guy and yeah because my mindset clearly yeah i was like girls are going to love him yeah he's he's kind of like what we deserve from the bachelor yeah because he seemed like a he reminds me i always say this of a canadian yeah a canadian and so i was like yeah i'd my mindset was just in this zone of where i was like i don't know why but i feel like i i i I'm, I care about his happiness. Like, I didn't know what it was.
Starting point is 00:15:27 And, and so I thought, oh, Bachelor, Bachelor material. And so I looked him up. Yeah, I was like, oh, yeah, I'm like, you know, just good job. It seemed to come from, like, I had read a couple interviews with him. And I was like, it seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. So I'm like, hopefully he'll be the bachelor. Yeah. And then, ZZZZZZZ.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Fast forward to when you went to Seattle. Yeah. At this point, I think he already knew. he wasn't going to be the bachelor right or did he know i don't i actually still don't oh no i don't think he did because i kind of remember because it was when i was podcasting and so yeah i think it was like in october i can't remember i under october but so my best friend jess yeah um well i have a few best friends bessie cat i call her she's amazing she's amazing so she has two kids they live in seattle and her husband she needed help she needed help her she's got two little ones under two under two
Starting point is 00:16:19 and her husband is oh i just love him and he is the the coach for the Seattle. Oh, I don't know the name of the team. Seahawks? No. No, that's football. That's football.
Starting point is 00:16:30 It's the W.HL team in hockey, hockey in Seattle. And so I went to, like, help her and see her and I love her. And I was like, oh, I might as well do some podcasting while I'm out there. So I was podcasting with Olivia and Jason. Yeah. And, yeah, I think so, yeah, at this point, he clearly did. He knew he wasn't The Bachelor because I think it was Colton at this point.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Oh, yeah. And then I remember asking him like, so I'm like, How did your podcast and go? And you're like, well, it was weird because I went into my podcast and you had been like balling your eyes out. Yeah. And it just wasn't a really good day. And then. Well, I mean, I think what people don't know or maybe they do at this point is that it was already, the breakup had already happened.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Right. Oh, yeah. I just don't know if it had been. Oh, yeah. It had been. Yeah. Because I think he knew. And he's like, no, no.
Starting point is 00:17:18 It hadn't been announced. No. It was just it had already happened. Oh, yeah. But he didn't. know that so he didn't want to step on any toes or cross any boundaries because he I think he was probably like oh she's cute or something but he didn't want to you know because I am but he obviously went but it was so crazy because that was a really hard time well yeah and I think he was just a little
Starting point is 00:17:41 confusing he didn't know whether to ask like why you're crying or not yeah he was really supportive and you're like it was really weird because it started off like I was so emotional and then you said but the podcasting went really well that's all you had said like you had said like you You didn't tell me a lot more. I think what's weird is, you know, I'm obviously a very bubbly happy personality that, but I'm very vulnerable and open about if I have bad days. So I was like, I'm not going to hide it. Like I was crying.
Starting point is 00:18:08 I didn't say. I wasn't like, oh, I'm having a really tough, tough days. So sorry, like that you have to see me like this. And he was so sweet. And he was like, I actually just came from this charity and it was really emotional. Like, let's have a soft Tuesday together and podcast. And I was like, wow, what a great guy. yeah yeah but it was weird because you didn't tell me anything you were just like yeah it was a great
Starting point is 00:18:27 podcast Jason's a great guy like really good to see Olivia which I just met and she's right amazing oh she's such a sweetheart and then but then it was weird because then I listened to the podcast and it was for me personally and I think like I heard a few other people thought the same thing but listening to your podcast there was just so much chemistry and you didn't even realize it I don't think but even like and even told Olivia I'm like Olivia what were you even do in there? I'm like, you were talking. I'm like, stop talking. I want to hear what's happening because it was just this like chemistry or energy, which was, um, it was pretty crazy. Well, I will say that I think for me, I was just, again, I was in a mindset. He was in a mindset. He doesn't know
Starting point is 00:19:12 what's going on. I don't know what's going on. Olivia doesn't know what's going on. But I had so many people reach out and say, did you, did you hear that chemistry? Like, oh, and then, And so I posted a picture, as I do for, to promote the podcast. And somebody had written underneath, if Caitlin and Jason were ever a thing, I would fully be behind that. And I was like, oh, what? That's weird. Like, I, you know, I podcast with people all the time.
Starting point is 00:19:39 Yeah. And I podcast with men and women all the time. And I've never heard that before. And then I went back and listened. And I was like, oh, yeah, you know what it is. It's the Canadian, you know, he's from Buffalo. I'm from Canada. maybe it's the banter back and forth.
Starting point is 00:19:53 It was just very natural and the chemistry. And the more and more people said it to me, like people that were close to me too are like, whoa, you guys really had some chemistry on that podcast. I was like, wait, what?
Starting point is 00:20:03 Oh, yeah, I know. You didn't even really think, well, yeah, I don't think you were in the mindset. And I think also,
Starting point is 00:20:08 too, like it's not like you guys talked right after. You know, I think you slowly became friends afterwards. But I think obviously he wanted to be, he's a very respectful guy. Oh, so he wanted to just be like,
Starting point is 00:20:18 and you could tell. Like, you could tell. He asked questions. Like he, like, he would say things like, I'm a really big fan of you and Sean, like, how is everything going? Like, how is his gym? Like, he would ask questions. And you could tell he was being very respectful.
Starting point is 00:20:33 But I think, like, I think a lot of people had maybe ideas that, like, we were maybe on the outs just because of the world we live in with social media. And it's kind of obvious at times. But, yeah, he was, you could tell he just didn't want to cross any line. Jason. I know. Well, that's because he's a gentleman. Do you think he listens to your podcast? Like, will he be listening today?
Starting point is 00:20:54 Probably because he'll know it's about him, so he's going to tune that in. Hi, Jason. Had fun in Denver. He got some good moves. He got some good dance wells. Hey, I like someone who's some good dance moves. That's key. Number one.
Starting point is 00:21:07 You know what? Big fan of people that want to dance with me. Yes. Because I don't know if anybody knows this, but girl likes to dance. Girl likes to, you know what, RIP? You don't believe us? Just look at your Iceland stories. We like to dance.
Starting point is 00:21:22 RIP to the dance lore at the Howl at the Moon bar in Denver, because we, we killed it. Crushed it. RIP. Yeah, that place was so much fun. So much fun. So much fun. So it's a piano bar. Yeah, dueling piano bar.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Always a good time. The only one I've ever been to was like a little bit more chill. And then I would think it was Olivia too. She's like, oh no, dueling pianos are just kind of lame. But I was like, I don't know why. I'm like, let's just do something different. Let's try it. And thank goodness, because that was so fun.
Starting point is 00:21:51 We were on fire. It's all the food we just ate at that restaurant where that guy was not flirting with you. No, he totally was. He totally was. Sorry, yeah, that will probably happen a few more times in the podcast. But we had so much fun at that part. Anyway, so we decided I'll go out as a group in Denver. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Your boyfriend lives there. Yeah, he lives there. and um well your friend brandy yeah so she just moved to denver and yeah um i've just started becoming friends with her too and i was like you know why it'd be so fun to all get together and i wanted her to get to know adam and then obviously blake lives in denver and i was like it just seemed like a good place still you know made up yeah and it was so fun well it was first of all nice to get to know jason like i know you guys have been flirting a little bit i know it's so funny because i was like who is this guy well because after the podcast and we chatted and like it was just kind of casual
Starting point is 00:22:47 conversation but as things went on I sent him you know photos from the podcast and then we kind of chatted as he's very very smart I don't know if people know this but I yeah I can tell I feel like I'm I like to consider myself intelligent when it comes to like the the world that we live in but in his world I'm like and so he had talked to me a few times about like investments or like financial things and I had given him some advice about Instagram and then the more we got talking You know, the more I was like, oh, I actually really enjoy talking to this guy. And then I would find myself being like, oh, I'm, we're still talking. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:23:26 So you feel like you had good chemistry? Great chemistry. I think people saw it on Instagram or like, you know, like we're going back and forth. We're doing some flirting. Okay. Well, so here is the question that everyone wants to know. Okay. Oh, what?
Starting point is 00:23:40 What was your favorite place in Denver? That's the question? Jason's arms. I'm just kidding I'm like Oh Wait that was cute Favorite place in Denver
Starting point is 00:23:53 I don't know I really like to Howl at the Moon I'm a big fan of doing pianos I just think we had such a good time You know we went out for some good dinners We went out for some great drinks I was just joking Oh
Starting point is 00:24:04 I got nervous Did you see that? I was like talking to it I was like I'm waiting at the house Hall of the Moon is amazing I really like how on the moon No
Starting point is 00:24:14 I was Okay you interview me I feel like I've been doing all the talking. Okay, so in an interview, because we obviously had set this up so that you guys would get to know each other and see if there was like before putting it out there, seeing if there was chemistry. Yeah. So when. Which, by the way, is a very, very bizarre world to live in and and have people be involved in your relationship or getting to know someone new. But, you know, it's kind of fun too.
Starting point is 00:24:39 It's like, you know, everyone can be part of it and we can all just like, I don't feel the pressure. Like when Sean and I were engaged, people were like, do you feel pressure to get married? I was like, no, I don't. I really don't because this is our timeline and clearly things weren't going in the right direction. And so, no, if I felt pressure to get married, I probably would have taken it too far. In this situation, people are like, oh, if you like let people in, aren't you going to feel pressure or whatever? I'm like, no, I don't really. And that's good.
Starting point is 00:25:09 And I think you've been in it long enough to just know that you just want to live your, life and do what feels right for you and I like to share it on Instagram you do and you know what I think that that's why people actually really love you because you don't hold back and you just put it out there yeah to me it's just like if things don't work out if they do work out like people are going to just be on that journey with me yeah and that's just part of life I don't want everything to seem perfect so it's like is it is it quick that I'm putting it no we're having great time it's fun we had a great time well I think you got used to just putting it out there too with like the bachelor and the bachelorette and it's just become something that's like kind of normal to you and also
Starting point is 00:25:49 I feel like so you've been reading a lot of the comments um yeah here and there about and so what are people saying to eat a cheeseburger oh let me tell you if you haven't seen my Instagram story go see how much food Caitlin needs on a plane I'm disgusting uh what are people saying she definitely eats people people are saying uh but i i honestly i guess i was a little nervous just because you know we do put ourselves out there but i think everyone just seems so genuinely excited for like people to be happy which is really nice and because it's people that love you and i think that he you could see that he was a good guy from the show yeah apparently everyone seems to be a really big fan of him which is a lot and i don't want i don't ever want people to think i would use any guy
Starting point is 00:26:39 as a rebound. So to me, it was like, okay, if I'm, if I'm going to hang out with somebody, like, I never thought I would hang out with somebody from the Bachelor franchise. I know. And I feel a little bit bad for saying that because I'm like, it's not like I feel above that. It was more just like, okay, I've been there. I've done that. It was really like challenging and ups and downs and blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:27:02 And you go forward and you're like, okay, well, what's next for me? And it's not that I was like, oh, I can't go into the. bachelor world again because those guys suck i'm not thinking that it was more like more low key is what you yeah i was like you know what i'll just be a little more um private low key whatever but you can't help who you like no and then bam and then bam but here comes jason he but he just to me like you can't fight chemistry and you can't fight a good guy and i think that you never know when it's going to come along and it's actually it's crazy but it always seems to happen when you least expect it Oh, I did not see that one coming.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Holy hell. Well, I remember you told me you're like, Cleo, you're like, what if I'm going to be single for the rest of my life? And I was like, yeah, no, I highly doubt that. But you didn't believe me. You didn't believe me. No, I thought I was. I was like, you know what? And maybe that's okay.
Starting point is 00:27:53 You know, self loves the most of love. Yeah. And then I slapped your breath to face. I'm like, no. Twice. Twice actually. Yeah, but it's like, I was like news like when your time is right. And who knows?
Starting point is 00:28:04 Like you guys had a good time in Denver. but I will say the universe has a funny way of it. The chemistry was heard on the podcast and let me tell you the chemistry was seen in Really? Yeah, it was just, it's, it was just, it was undeniable and it was clear like you guys saw each other and you could tell that you were both really nervous, but also like, you know, just like, I don't know. Because I think, here's what I think we're nervous about. I think the world we live in is very difficult and challenging to navigate where you're like,
Starting point is 00:28:35 do we let people in? Do we not? If we, if we keep it super private, people think we're hiding something. They're like, just let your fans know. And then we're like, oh, well, you know, like privacy is a little bit sacred in our world where it's like, okay, that's cool to like keep it. But also we want to be like, look how much fun we're having together. But then if we do that, we're oversharing and is it a PR stunt? Like, you just can't really win in the world of social media. So I think it was tough for us to navigate like how to, um, be just in on social media because we don't want people to think oh they're just doing this for attention and we don't want people to not take it seriously yeah and even before the weekend
Starting point is 00:29:16 like before jason came you're like you know like i don't know what to do like should i just not post on social media should i should i how much should i share and i'm like you know what like you post like you know when you want to share something yeah and you know when you want to post i was like don't think about this any differently right because then that's when it doesn't come across is genuine. And I think that's what people respect about anyone on social media who can be real on the
Starting point is 00:29:42 stories or in post. It's like don't be someone you're not. I'm not going to hide things, but I'm not going to overshare things. I was just having a good time. The chemistry was there and it's I mean, we clearly had a good time. We sure
Starting point is 00:29:58 did. The music was playing. The place was amazing. The drinks were flowing. Yeah. Okay. So what was what was the one thing about him let's see the first night that like caught your attention and you're like yes i can see this going somewhere or like yes there's chemistry oh can you pinpoint um i think just how respectful he's been through this whole thing and um he's just a gentleman he just to me he's like i mean we all know i like to have a good time i like seeing i like dancing i like having a couple of cocktails
Starting point is 00:30:34 tails. I like laughing. I like being chill. I like and and he just seems to enjoy all the same things as me. And I think the first thing that attracted me to him was that he just seems like a dying breed. Like they don't make him like him anymore. He's a gentleman. He's a gentleman. Yeah. Oh, that's nice. And he. That's so nice. It is. And he just, you can tell that he, um, like he sees everybody is equal. And you can see it from his family and from just who. he is is that he he he's like a little about his family oh my gosh really oh he's so close to his family they like talk all the time they're such a great they seem like such a solid family and he just has like the same like morals and values as me and we want the same things and I think at this point
Starting point is 00:31:22 in your life like he's 30 I'm 33 we both feel like we're established and where we want to be in our lives and we have like the self-love and respect to actually like be in a mature healthy relationship and would you call him your boyfriend you know what can i say this it's actually so strange to go from being engaged to thinking of somebody as your boyfriend because i feel like that's taking a step backwards where it's not it's not it's if anything is taking a step forward because you're just growing and evolving as a as a person and and every relationship is different yeah and they all have to you like it takes it takes it's time yeah so um yeah i i mean i would be upset if he was dating anyone else
Starting point is 00:32:06 and I think he would be upset if I was dating anyone else. Jason, if you're listening, there's no more dating anybody else. No bitch is after 11. That's from me, myself and Irene. God, why do I quote the weirdest movies at the weirdest times? I don't even know if I've ever seen that movie. No bitches after 11. Anyways.

Starting point is 00:34:13 You're listening to Off the Vine Race Therapy. Any more brain busters from McLeo? You know what? Actually, let me get my phone because I do have some stuff written down because you know how this is not natural for me. So I was like, I need no. It kind of is though. You're not, yeah, you're pretty good. Well, I think it's just because it's with you.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Yeah. Okay, that's true. Yeah. But if I had to host my own podcast, it would be disaster. I'd be like, uh, blah, blah, blah. It's tricky. You know, they can't all, they can all be like, uh, off the vine. I know.
Starting point is 00:34:44 With your host, Caitlin Bristol. It's a unique. That is. God, that was cocky. No. Wink. Nod. Yes, it was.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Go on. Oh, okay. So I had some questions. So is there, um, anything that he did this weekend. I know I asked you that. that you really like but what about something that he did what like is there anything that you're like a red flag or that annoyed you oh uh i think we all know i have misophonia uh where the sound of chewing and drinking really affects me uh he's a bit of a loud cheuer but nothing that i'm going to kick him
Starting point is 00:35:19 out of bed for okay okay so it's not a deal breaker not a deal breaker i'm trying to think of anything like that's crazy that is there anything no okay And even his loud, even his loud chewing, I'm like, it's kind of cute. Oh, my God. This is trouble. Oh, boy. Oh, gosh. I think we've established that.
Starting point is 00:35:40 I've never heard you to say that you like from anybody. The sound of someone's chewing. Um, okay, so I think that there may be one or two ladies out there wondering. Mm. And I will ask. It's huge. Just kidding. I'm joking.
Starting point is 00:35:57 God, my humor can be really inappropriate. Well, now this. kind of ruins it. I was just going to ask you a good kisser. Oh. Oh, am I allowed to answer this? Yep. Okay. Well, only if you want. Well, I mean, I think the world already knew he was from Becca season, which is super weird to say. Oh, so you saw him kiss Becca. Um, my mom and I watched him kiss Becca and my mom said he had a nice lip clit. Oh. Which is definitely the wrong term. Um, but she really liked the like, um, dip in his lip. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. And she said, that's why he's a good kisser. Anyways, uh, great. Great kisser. Okay. Huge. That's very important. Well, it is. Yes. And you know, I mean, there was, it's, we've, we've built, uh, this connection from like a friendship up. And it was like such a organic, like, yeah, build up, I guess that when we were spending time together, it's like, well, what, I mean, we were on Instagram stories. People saw that there's definitely a connection there. Uh, and I don't want to. be, like, rubbing it in anyone's face, but, like, it's, it just feels right and great kisser. Hey, that is, for me, that's almost a deal breaker. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:12 You know, it's like, oh, my gosh, how can you be a someone that isn't a good kisser? I know. I know. And it's not even, like, necessarily whether you're a bad kisser or a good kisser. It's whether you both kiss well together. Right. It's like the chemistry is also with kissing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:24 So I can't live talking about this clip. Okay, I will change the topic. No, it's okay. No, it's just so crazy just because I'm like. wow is this I mean I love sharing well like four months ago I was like picking up off the floor everything exactly I was like so I'm just not to over here but that's like I mean and that could give girls hope out there too that you know sometimes heartbreak feels like in the moment it just you can't go on and then it can be I mean it can be months it can be years you can't put a
Starting point is 00:37:55 timeline on it it it just it happens when it happens it wouldn't the more and the more and the more I swear with age, you just get wiser with, like, what you need and what you want and what makes you happy and what you'll put up with or stand for. And I really believe that you grow from it and I've seen it with you. Oh, my gosh. So I think through this, I'm like, yeah, I was devastated, but also now I'm like, wow, I know what I deserve and I'm excited for the future. That was quick, but you also can't pick that, you know?
Starting point is 00:38:25 You can't. And you can't, and you can't deny it and you can't fight it. I think it's all things we're friends first. I did too. that before and and just such a like natural connection with like again the the banter i was like am i is are we bros yeah or is there's something here i think one point you're like i just can't tell if like we're flirting or if we're just good friends yeah it's like good like even that sometimes you're like i feel like he thinks like i'm a i'm one of the guys because you would tell you some things
Starting point is 00:38:51 you're like oh i don't know if i need to know yeah we'd like talk about things i'd be like oh oh we bros yeah the line was a little gray and like i think neither of you kind of knew what right right right but i kind of loved it because you're like wait i'm so confused yeah it just all happened right authentically um okay what other question do you know if he's a cat or a dog's person dog really big dog guy um his two favorite dogs are german shepherds and golden retrievers so oh he doesn't have an option there if this goes uh this goes this goes the distance golden retriever oh duh no question now yeah um um So I thought that this can be a bit of a fun game,
Starting point is 00:39:32 but it's not going to be as much fun if Jason listens to it. Oh, I'll tell him not to. Okay. Now he'll really tune in. Give me that extra download. We need all the downloads. Leave a rating and review. Well, I thought it would be fun to ask you a few questions.
Starting point is 00:39:50 Okay. And then, well, hopefully you will podcast with him and you can ask him the same questions and see if he answers the same. Oh, I wonder when I'll see him again. When are you, like, have you guys talked to? about it? Yeah, we're trying to make something happen. Oh, my gosh. I love it.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Well, you know, I love love. And I just want to see happy. So this makes me happy because I can see you're happy. Oh, yeah, I can see it. My girlfriend was like, you're, fucking radiating. Yeah. You are, you were, like, so scared to, like, have Christmas alone. And then, like, a month later, you're just, like, already so happy.
Starting point is 00:40:23 I'm like, but what about this Christmas? Where are you Christmas? It's like, you're not a planner and you're already thinking about Christmas. Oh, oh, God. We are in for a treat here. I'm like, let's just slow down, pump the breaks. It's Valentine's Day in February. Oh, which is exciting.
Starting point is 00:40:39 Oh, boy, I don't know. Have you thought about it at all? No. Well, this is like, honestly, this is, it's like Christmas or Valentine's when you just start dating someone and it's so recent and then these types of holidays come up. Yeah. It's just so much pressure because it's like, well, what if you go way bigger than they do? I know.
Starting point is 00:40:56 I know. And then you try to go more conservative and then they do and then you set the bar so high. For the next years, you're like, you get this on the first Valentine's Day. For sure. And then you're like, well, what if you give him something
Starting point is 00:41:06 he doesn't give you anything and then you feel bad because you think that he feels bad that he didn't get you anything, you know? Whoa. That was a lot. Slow down,
Starting point is 00:41:14 but it's like Christmas and Valentine's, like you never just want to be starting dating someone when it's those holidays. Really, it's a lot of pressure. There should be some kind of like worldwide rule. But if you haven't been dating for, if you've been dating for less than three months,
Starting point is 00:41:29 there should be zero. Do you get? Yeah, exactly. Do you get somebody? I'm not, do I get something from Valentine's Day? Cinnamon Hearts. Something from a keychain from Denver? A Christmas ornament? For next year, that might scare him. That might scare him abort. No. Could you imagine? Don't scare him with anything in future planning or anything like that. Pictures of engagement rings are wedding venues. Okay, go on.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Yeah, no, nothing like that. Okay, just kidding. Maybe just a little kiss. You know what's cute is I think if I did, he'd go, oh, let's talk about this. Does Mr. Sensitive? Or should we call him Mr. Sensitive? Would you say he's sensitive? I don't know if guys like that.
Starting point is 00:42:13 No. But I will say, okay, ask me your questions and then I want to bring something up. Okay, so if you could go anywhere in the world with him, where would you go? Oh, Leduc, Alberta. What? You would take him home? yeah um if i could go anywhere in the world to meet the parental no no no just so he could see where i came from oh yeah that's fair i know i still need to go i'm we're going this summer but okay
Starting point is 00:42:39 that was a lame answer but even though i love la duke um where would i take him anywhere in the no i think that that is very telling yeah yeah no let's leave it at that that was your first answer first answer wins okay um so would you prefer him to be a morning person or a night owl a night owl God do not give me a, please, baby Jesus, do not give me a morning man. No, Jason, we hope that you like to stay up late. I can't mornings, I need to slowly roll over, I need to have a moment, I need like, I'll never forget a guy dated when I was 24 and we went to his parents' house and we had to sleep in separate rooms and he woke up in the morning and it was the first time I was sleep over and
Starting point is 00:43:22 he came in from the other room and he just cranked open. When the blinds, he's like, good morning. I was like, this is never going to work. That's it. And then you broke up with him right then and there? Yep. And it was 11 a.m. How dare he?
Starting point is 00:43:35 How dare he? Not into it. Yeah. No, night owl, please. Okay, well, let's hope he's a night owl. Would you like him to, would you prefer him to like reading books or listen to podcasts? I would prefer him to read books because I don't ever want him to compare my podcast. to another and give me constructive criticism yeah uh but uh i also think it's so hot if guys read
Starting point is 00:44:04 yeah i fully agree well you know that there's an instagram account i i even don't like saying guys i'm like i men no no no just that sounds plural i think it's hot if he reads oh yeah sorry okay yeah just he go on you know what let's there's an instagram account what well there's an instagram account i think it's called something like hot men that read or hot guys that read or something following now yeah and it's just like all these guys that read on the train stop oh okay that's cool yeah um i should look that up i feel like it makes them i feel like you i've even like just from like reading books i'm like oh i'm a little smarter than i thought it was oh a guy who reads yeah it's hot oh yeah for sure so i've been wearing third love bras now for i don't know how long

I'm just like making it brand of questions. so if he could speak does he speak any other languages or okay well who knows no i don't think so so if he could speak another language which one would you want it to be um my love language oh words of affirmation okay you know what that that counts yeah it does yeah that's the that's the
Starting point is 00:46:15 one he needs to learn yeah and you know what that's the most important i like it i feel like he'd be good at it I already know he is. Really? Yeah. You feel like he'll be like. I just think he's. Expressive? I just think he's, uh, you know what?
Starting point is 00:46:28 I'll get into this one after this is what I wanted to talk to you about. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Um, a couple more questions. Okay. So where would you say, I, I guess you already had your date and you went to a really fun basketball game, but if you had to plan the next perfect date starting to get to know him.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Yep, you're a big camper. Do you think that you've been to camping? Ooh, I don't know. I think he would if I wanted to. Yeah. As long as he had like his hair gel and like a shower. Where I'm like. He has a lot of hair.
Starting point is 00:47:03 Good hair. Yeah, more than me. I will say he's good hair. But I'm like, I could go days without showering. Just give me like a flask and a fire and like a sleeping bag and and a deck of cards. True Canadian. Yeah. I love camping.
Starting point is 00:47:18 And then it's like you're so in the moment. you put your phone down I don't know there's something about camping to me that's just like quality quality time bonding time for sure I think he would do it and I think he could I just don't think it would be his first option
Starting point is 00:47:34 okay well we will see if maybe the summer you guys go camping we will we're thinking long term here I'm hoping because you know I'm a big fan long term long term what are in a Hollywood relationship we're making it till summer is like
Starting point is 00:47:47 40 dog years Let's see. Let's see. Okay, so this is, I just find this question interesting. So if you could invite anyone to have dinner with the two of you, who would that be? Dead or alive or just alive? Could be dead or alive. Invite anyone to dinner with us. Who would it be?
Starting point is 00:48:10 Tony Robbins. Oh, what? I don't know. He seems like he's just a positive motherfucker. I will agree with you on that one. That shocks me. I don't know. And I love him.
Starting point is 00:48:23 Yeah. Somebody I would take like, you know what? But you know what? You're a smart cookie. Really? Yeah, because it's like who's going to be someone who's going to challenge you who's going to really want to get to know both of you and see if you guys are compatible. That's what I would want. A relationship expert.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Yeah. I wouldn't want. I wouldn't want like a like Oprah. I wouldn't want anyone super famous. Because that would be distracting. Yeah. I would want somebody that could really dig deep and like... Wow, you just impressed me.
Starting point is 00:48:53 Oh, really? Yeah, I'm a big Anthony Robbins man. Tony? Tony. But you know what? I used to listen to him when I was younger. Oh, is he Anthony? And he used to be Anthony Robbins.
Starting point is 00:49:01 And my mom would make us listen to tapes in summer. We wouldn't be able to play outside until we did our session of Anthony Robbins. Holy shit. That makes so much sense. We were goal setting every day. Wow. And this is why you were my manager. and Fred.
Starting point is 00:49:19 Okay, so I had another question. Okay. And this will be the last one. Okay. How long? You're going to hate me. Oh, boy. What?
Starting point is 00:49:30 How long have you been crushing on this person? Oh. See, I don't even know how to answer that because, I mean, I could probably, like, when I look back at it, I'm like, what was it? I was always just rooting for them, but I think, like, really crushing, like a month? like around Christmas time Yeah And you know it makes sense You know it's that time where you're just like more vulnerable
Starting point is 00:49:52 And you're spending time with family And you're like wait what do I really want And then you just like Yeah and I just think I really No I think I really Okay here's what I will say And this is what I wanted to bring up earlier
Starting point is 00:50:05 He said on his Instagram story Someone asked what was your biggest takeaway From being on The Bachelorette And he went ahead and hashtag To The Bachelorette to get more of you use on his story which I really respect but he said he said I learned that I was leaning on the daily grind and simple distractions of life as a mechanism to avoid addressing my insecurities and fears and as a result I had become so closed off with my communication and an ability to be
Starting point is 00:50:36 vulnerable taking ownership and addressing this has genuinely changed my life and where did do you post this on his Instagram story, which by the time this airs, it will be gone. But to me, I was like, that is so vulnerable for him to even say that and wise and just like for a, I mean, not even just a guy, for just a person in general to acknowledge that they were avoiding feelings and using something else in their day to day life as a mechanism to not dig deep into who they really are, to admit. that and then say that that's what you've been working on and that it's changed your life is so huge for me because that's something people work on for years and that's something I've worked on for years and I finally feel like as a 33 year old woman I'm like I've worked on that so hard to acknowledge like what am I doing what am I avoiding and why and like where how can I be better and for him to just like say that's his biggest takeaway from the show
Starting point is 00:51:38 is so important to me because I'm like, man, some, a man to just say like, hey, you know what? I wasn't acknowledging my, my, um, insecurities. And now I am and I'm, I'm willing to be vulnerable and talk about it. And, and it's changed my life is huge. Yeah. And I think it's huge. You know, it's been really interesting to see like, I think 2018, to say the least,
Starting point is 00:52:04 was a really hard year for you. Challenging. Yeah. But you know what? With hard years come. also so much growth and you learned so much and I think that it's been well it's been really cool to see how you've you just seem to have a bit of a different perspective on life and seem to just know you worked really hard on knowing like what is it that you want yeah and now
Starting point is 00:52:25 there's no turning back oh my god I think I'm getting a cramp oh my gosh yeah you're okay I mean that really cramped your style You know, just as though that it would really land. I was like, wait a second, my toes. You were so in the moment that you didn't even realize you were just like, scramping. Are you okay? This bed is too comfy.
Starting point is 00:52:53 I'm too dehydrated. No, I swear, it's just too comfy. Are you okay? Yeah, I think it's going. It has a past. No, you know what? It was just starting, but I don't think it was at full ball. Oh, my God.

Starting point is 00:53:27 What's wrong with us? We don't get enough sleep That's what it is We just talk too much Every time we podcast We're so delirious and giggly I know I'm like What about
Starting point is 00:53:37 What about having me on your podcast when I'm like, when it's normal hours. I'm a morning person. Now, fuck that. And you ask me to podcast at midnight every time I'm like, eyes crossed. I'm like, God, damn it's the thing. My favorite thing about podcasting is a couple things. I say this all the time.
Starting point is 00:53:53 I really love being in the moment with somebody. And two, this needs to be just a distraction for people for an hour of their day where they can just laugh and have mindless. This isn't deep here. I tried to get deep. I mean, no, I can get deep and I'll have. deep conversations and that's why I like to mix in once in a while like a therapist or a you know I'll go there and I love it but for the most part I just want people to laugh and I just want people to be like she is a whackadoodle you know like this girl is out there a little whackadoodle poo I'm a little I'm a little a combination of kind of deep loving yeah pretty funny I would say very funny and just like I just want people to have a little escape for hour. So you know what? You know what? If I had to say one word, I would actually say real. Oh,
Starting point is 00:54:42 is that the one word you used to describe me? Oh, yeah. Like, especially when I listen to your podcast. I'm like, oh, yeah, that's totally Caitlin. Like, it's just so you. I do love that. And I will say that that's something I went on the show, having every intention of going and being like, I just want my family and friends to be like, that's Caitlin. And come out of it saying that's Caitlin. And then listen to my, like, sometimes I wish it wasn't so much. I'm like, okay. Like, come on. But I've learned to love and embrace that about you and i think because it ain't going to change bitch no it ain't going to change and i'm like on board a get off right what's that saying uh you're terrible with sayings and it's so funny cleoisms yeah the cleoisms oh wait what he said you get on board or get off um no no i'm not
Starting point is 00:55:27 even sure what you're alluding to maybe it's not even the same um delirious yeah i am yeah what was your other one you've said before where i'm like that's not how it's goes. I wouldn't even know where to start. I've got to start tweeting these. It's so funny. Anyways. What's the takeaway from this podcast? Well, I really personally, as your friend and having been in Denver this weekend with you guys, is I really hope and can see that you're happy.
Starting point is 00:55:56 And you know what? What will happen will happen. It's just like taking it day by day and not worrying about what people think. And I know you put it out there and good for you. And I really think it will work. And if it doesn't, then it's been. a good time, but it's taking a day by day. I have a pretty good feeling.
Starting point is 00:56:11 I do too. I just, I hate putting pressure on anything or jinxing anything, but. Don't feel like you're putting pressure. Hey, big Jason guy. Big advocate for big J guy. Big J guy. Big J-bone guy. Yeah.
